Speaker: Welcome back, everyone.
Speaker: It's another episode of Dirty Briefs, a bonus episode, if you will, because the last episode I hit you with a little meditation, one to de-stress you, to heal what's ailing you.
Speaker: But that was a short episode, and I thought, why not break this week into two different meditations that can be used for different areas of your life?
Speaker: I am very excited to bring you this meditation because I have not been partying in a while, but I used to be quite the little wild man when I would attend a shindig.
Speaker: I'd be hanging naked from the chandelier.
Speaker: I would be drinking all of the bleach under the sink.
Speaker: I would black out constantly and forget everything that I had just done.
Speaker: Some of us, we like to blackout.
Speaker: It's like time traveling.
Speaker: It's fun.
Speaker: But some of us need to remember what we are doing.
Speaker: So here is another meditation to remember what happened during a blackout.
Speaker: Once again, we're going to go deep.
Speaker: If you're driving a car, please, please pull over to the side of the road.
Speaker: Otherwise, get comfortable and prepare to explore the deepest caverns of your insides.
Speaker: Here we go.
Speaker: As always, we begin by closing our eyes.
Speaker: Take a deep breath and count to five.
Speaker: One, two, three, four.
Speaker: Exhale with the same count.
Speaker: One, two, three, four, five.
Speaker: Inhale again.
Speaker: Only this time, go back in your mind to the night where you lost all consciousness.
Speaker: Think about what you were wearing.
Speaker: Was it your college university hoodie?
Speaker: Was it that little black dress that Mark said you look super hot in?
Speaker: Think about it.
Speaker: Exhale.
Speaker: As I continue to speak, please keep inhaling and exhaling.
Speaker: Keep your breath steady.
Speaker: The deeper you go, the more the memories will come racing back.
Speaker: Take yourself to the party.
Speaker: Where was it?
Speaker: your friend Christian's house, a fraternity, maybe a Chuck E. Cheese, take yourself into that party.
Speaker: Float around the room like a balloon that slipped from a child's hand.
Speaker: Now watch yourself as you stand over the sink, pounding drink after drink.
Speaker: Follow your soul as you go outside to smoke a joint or take a whippet.
Speaker: Inhale again, and as you do, feel the smoke from that joint or the nitrous from that whippet filling your lungs.
Speaker: Remember that feeling as it flows throughout your body, taking you on a journey all the way to the moon.
Speaker: As you continue to breathe,
Speaker: Familiarize yourself with that beautiful conscious state of being.
Speaker: Totally high, but totally in charge.
Speaker: You are perfect.
Speaker: You want another drink, but you don't need it.
Speaker: Now the thoughts come.
Speaker: Why did you wake up wet?
Speaker: Wearing someone else's clothes?
Speaker: Why do you have 37 missed calls from the host of the party?
Speaker: Follow yourself as you take off your clothes, paying zero attention to everyone around you, telling you to please not do that.
Speaker: You do not want to be this person.
Speaker: Watch as you pour lighter fluid all over your clothing and proceed to light a match.
Speaker: Was this a political statement or were you just fucked up?
Speaker: and in need of attention because mommy never gave enough to you.
Speaker: It's all coming back.
Speaker: Jumping in the pool naked, spreading eagle and pushing a cocktail weenie into your butt.
Speaker: Sure, at the time it seemed like good fun, but looking back, you were not the life of the party.
Speaker: Remember this feeling of shame.
Speaker: It's okay to live in this discomfort, if only for a moment to remind yourself why it might be time to cut back on the drinking, the boozing, the schmoozing.
Speaker: One and done.
Speaker: That's enough.
Speaker: One drink and done.
Speaker: One and done.
Speaker: Or two and make do.
Speaker: But three, you are no longer free.
Speaker: It's not a contest.
Speaker: Just by being there.
Speaker: With your whole being, you've already won.
Speaker: Now come back to this place of solace.
Speaker: Forgive yourself and tell yourself, you are enough.
Speaker: Goddamn, that was a fucking great party.
Speaker: But all of life is a party.
Speaker: Remember that as you proceed on this week.
Speaker: And please follow me on social media at HooperHair.
Speaker: I'm doing lots of new things on there.
Speaker: Lots of new things and announcing tons of shows.
Speaker: So get ready, everyone.
Speaker: I am at peace.
Speaker: And I hope you join me.
Speaker: I'll see you next week.
