Manchester United's Weekend Performance

00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of the daily Manchester United podcast. I'm your host for this evening Niall Hannigan and I'm delighted to be joined by Sam Brady. Sam, how are you getting on?
00:00:19
Sam Brady
Yeah, all good, man. All good. um ah think it's been a long time since we've ah we've done an episode together. So it's good to good to be back on an episode with you, mate. And yeah, good. Obviously, um a draw on the weekend, which not not a terrible

Struggles and Europa League Focus

00:00:34
Sam Brady
res result. But how are you keeping yourself, mate?
00:00:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, grand grand. I mean, as best as we can. i don't think we were shocked by the result of the weekend. If anything, probably happy with a point, but just kind of shows where we are at the moment, I suppose.
00:00:42
Sam Brady
Yeah.
00:00:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Being an a United fan, compounded by that Premier League lift at the weekend, but I'm sure we'll have to touch on that at some point. But yeah, I mean... i don't know I don't know what to say anymore. a pretty lacklustre performance. um Lucky to get the last minute goal from from Hoyland. But I suppose 1-1 away to Bournemouth, they are flying this year compared to where we are. So we can't be too disappointed with it.
00:01:16
Sam Brady
Yeah, and that's the thing on the face of it. As you said, a draw away Bournemouth. As you said, they're flying as well. On the face of it it's not a bad result, considering where we are and considering we probably ah have eyes on the Europa League now.
00:01:31
Sam Brady
um Obviously, there's not much to play for in in the league anymore.

Hoyland's Last-Minute Goal and Season Hopes

00:01:35
Sam Brady
um First half, again, it it wasn't really great. And then second half, obviously, we had to we had to push for the equaliser.
00:01:43
Sam Brady
and And even when we got the equaliser, to be honest, i was like, maybe hope we can go on and try and try and nick this.
00:01:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:01:49
Sam Brady
But yeah. not Again, not a lot of positives to really take from it. I mean, the only positive you can really say is it's not a loss against Bournemouth side who have been flying this year.
00:02:01
Sam Brady
Hoyland obviously got on the score sheet, so hopefully that gives him a bit of confidence going into Thursday. and And to be honest... it It could have gone a lot worse it if we are if we sort of didn't get a result. of The Vitality on on Sunday would be going into that obviously important game on Thursday.
00:02:20
Sam Brady
Not confident at all. and And I'm still not fully confident, especially away. But I'm like, maybe maybe maybe we can do something. So not an awful result. But again, not not a great result to be honest.
00:02:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, these guys could go out and and win 9-0 or lose nine nine ni and you still wouldn't wouldn't have a clue what's coming the next day. So, um just kind of sums up the season, I suppose. But I suppose first half, Bournemouth kind of the better side. Semenyo gets

Bournemouth Players Gaining Attention

00:02:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
a goal. Great strike.
00:02:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Kind of bobbled back out to him. um Low kind of driven finish with his left foot. There's a lot of talk around Cunha at the moment. Yeah. A lot of talk that it actually is going to happen and for Bitsur Romana reporting it. All the kind of big podcasts out there speaking about it as well.
00:03:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Is Semenu someone that you're looking at as an option or if he was available, would you kind of think he's he's a proven proven kind of player to play in one of those number 10 positions?
00:03:17
Sam Brady
Yeah, I think a lot of those Bournemouth players actually are are ah my obviously are on the radar of big clubs and and it might move on in the summer.
00:03:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:03:25
Sam Brady
Dean Hoyssen is obviously another name on a lot of people's lips at the minute.
00:03:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:03:28
Sam Brady
But Anton Semenya, he's a quality player, to be honest. He's got bags of bugs of quality and I think he's he's shown that this season and he's been ah ah lot of a lot of part of of the success at Bournemouth.
00:03:41
Sam Brady
Obviously, on that right-hand side, We had Ahmad and then obviously he's now injured. it looks like maybe he might come back just just and at the end of the season.
00:03:52
Sam Brady
But Semenya would be a great option off that right-hand side. I mean, ah as as cover for Ahmad, if obviously we've we've seen this season Ahmad's got injured and we don't really have that quality on the right-hand side.

Bruno Fernandes's Optimal Role

00:04:06
Sam Brady
Almorin maybe likes to play Bruno further forward, but I think I've mentioned it and a few of us have mentioned it in in previous weeks where I actually prefer Bruno in that deeper role, and in the sort of eight role where you can pick up the ball and and and create more chances in that role. So I would like to see if it's not Ahmad more squad depth on that right-hand side and exactly like the left-hand side. I mean, you mentioned Kunja there.
00:04:30
Sam Brady
I mean, Semenyu and Kunja, they're similar players in... in
00:04:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:04:35
Sam Brady
so in sort of the seasons they've had for their respected clubs where they've been the main men. And Kunja is another one where he's got bags of talent. But I was reading a ah column that Paul Scholes actually put out, a TNT column, where I fully agreed, where he said, it's another case of an amazing player with bags of quality, but will

Potential Signings and Team Fit

00:04:57
Sam Brady
it...
00:04:57
Sam Brady
will it be a case of him, a player come having quality and potential, coming to United and it and it not working out? And and we've seen that with quite a few of the the players that we've brought in in the summer. So, yeah, i mean, Kunja excites me, Semenya excites me. Obviously, strong, strong rumours that Kunja is going to be, is going to come into Old Trafford into

The Champions League's Role in Signings

00:05:21
Sam Brady
the summer. And again, I'd be very happy with the signing of Kunja. But,
00:05:26
Sam Brady
um or Obviously, I'm now very sceptical of players coming into a graveyard, what United seems to be at this moment of time.
00:05:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, there's there's numerous examples of that, so it's ah it's easy to kind of get on board with us with that article, and ah it is a bit worrying, but yeah, I think Cunha and Semenya are quite similar in that type of profile for for that number 10 position.
00:05:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um I agree with your point around Bruno. I think yeah naturally he drifts back into the deeper line position anyway, so you'd really rather play him there and play number tens that are more suited to these type of number tens where you need to be very athletic you need to be a good ball carrier as well which um a lot of times bruno isn't that he's got strengths in other areas but he's not going to go and beat players with driveling potential um and i think those kind of players really have the balance of of being able to play in those roles um
00:06:15
Sam Brady
deal.
00:06:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
So will be interesting to see. um Interesting you mentioned Dean Houghton as well. I mean, seems like a ah brilliant footballer. um I don't know where he's going to end up, but he'd be he'd be lovely in that back three as well at United. But then you can't have everyone. So I don't think we can be we can be too too greedy when it comes to Bournemouth.
00:06:44
Sam Brady
Yeah, and I think it also sort of determines on whether we have Champions League football next year. I think I mentioned on an episode last week where ah there was rumours a couple of weeks ago that Liam DeLatte may be moving on from it, which and he was rumoured as well for £30 million and
00:06:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:07:01
Sam Brady
it really the The profile of players we go in for, I think, really does depend on whether we get Champions League football next year. I think if we do get Champions League football, we can start talking about maybe the the awesome ends of the world.
00:07:14
Sam Brady
and And to be honest, even the Dean Huisens, because a young player like that is going to want to sort of advance his career and play in Europe's best competitions.
00:07:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:07:25
Sam Brady
and if were And if we're left with no European football next year, then we are sort of going down the pecking orders of of looking at the sort of type of players we can bring in. and And we are looking at the sort of Liam De Lapps of the world. and and And that's why I'm sort of surprised, but also glad that we're pushing to get the Cunha deal over the line before the season's even over.
00:07:48
Sam Brady
I'm surprised that he's willing to make that sort of decision until the season's over, until our Champions League or European football fate is decided in the next couple of weeks.
00:08:02
Sam Brady
And especially when I think Wolves may be even higher than us in the league the minute.
00:08:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, exactly.
00:08:08
Sam Brady
Yeah, I don't know. He might be thinking ah about um ah regretting that that decision if he makes it before the season ends. But um hey, yeah I'm glad with it. And yeah, I mean, it will determine how the these next couple weeks play out, to be honest.
00:08:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's also refreshing to to actually see you know these deals getting close, or so they say, early, because there's been so many seasons where we're left at the end scrambling, um and then you end up overpaying and and kind of looking for anyone that'll join. And that's happened just so many times post the Fergie era as well. And it's obviously playing into the performances on the pitch. So yeah, it would be nice to get Cunha over the line before before we get knocked out by Bilbao.
00:08:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. and But anyway, we'll we'll take a quick break there and I'll be back to discuss a bit more about the the second half against Bournemouth.

Hoyland's Adaptation Challenges

00:09:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
So we mentioned at the top of the show, it was a ah pretty pretty dull performance, one-all draw for United, but our man Rasmus Hoyland bagged himself a goal, and boy, did he look happy when that went in the back of the net. What was your thoughts on that, Sam?
00:10:10
Sam Brady
Yeah, I mean, he yeah he looked absolutely relieved that that he got that goal.
00:10:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:14
Sam Brady
And um yeah, I think, look, there's no shying away from it that it's been a really tough season for him, especially where I think a lot of us United fans thought that he was sort of kicking last season where he he bagged a few goals, especially in the Champions League.
00:10:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:10:30
Sam Brady
And I even... I still believe my point where I've said it throughout Hoyland's United career and I've seen it from last year where if you can get him within that six yard area, I genuinely do believe he's a good finisher when you get him in front of goal.
00:10:47
Sam Brady
I just think this season he's played so much of ah of a different role than than his sort of ideal position where I think where Hoyland's best is putting balls in behind and getting him to run onto it and and getting him in...
00:11:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:11:02
Sam Brady
in front, sort of in between the goalposts, where I think a lot of this season has been him back to goal, sort holding the ball up and and being a sort of link-up striker. And I just don't think he is that.
00:11:14
Sam Brady
And then also he's playing that role. And then when the balls are getting put into the box, he's not there because he's flagging behind because he's the one sort of who started the role. So, yeah, I think it's been a tough season for him. And I would sort of...
00:11:28
Sam Brady
look to bring in a another number nine in the summer because I also think we we did we we have realised now that Joshua Zurchi's best position is probably not that main focus role. It probably is maybe a number 10 role and because he because he does what Hoyland was sort of supposed to supposed to do this season very well. I think Zurchi is that type of striker where the ball is good when it when you get it to his feet and he can lay it off and and play those those nice flicks and and and tricks.
00:11:58
Sam Brady
So I would try and bring someone in the summer. And with Hoyland, I think maybe that the best option for him, maybe potentially next season, is send him out on loan. I mean, why not? Send him to a team, sort of a lower team, where he can be the main striker, he can bag a few goals, get his confidence up, and then maybe bring him back when we're sort of further down the Almoran sort of um like progression.
00:12:24
Sam Brady
And then maybe he can come back with a bit of confidence and and maybe he will be that striker that that we want him to be in the future.
00:12:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Thank you.
00:12:31
Sam Brady
But I just think this season for him and and for all the squad, obviously, but for him in particular has been so tough that I think he needs to get the confidence back from somewhere.
00:12:42
Sam Brady
And I just don't think it's going to be at United at this point of point in time. The only problem is he's our only striker at the minute. So whether you love him or hate him, we're have to deal with him until the season is out. mean, he's going to have to start scoring if we want to start winning games. And that's especially important in the Europa League as well.
00:13:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely. um I like your points on Highland. I think think there is a player in there in terms of a good finisher. I also think it's it's not it's bigger than then a Highland question. it's It's the whole team in general. like there's absolutely zero service for him.
00:13:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
And when there is service, it's very random. Like you can see a lot of times when, when we actually do get an opportunity and this is throughout the season, you know, it's Garnaccio or it's Dallow or it's Dargoo more recently.
00:13:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
um It's, you know, random kind of players popping up in positions that might pull, pull a ball back, might whip it across the six yard box, might dink it up in the air. Like he has no idea.
00:13:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
how to play with these players or what he's actually going to get from them.
00:13:55
Sam Brady
Thank you.
00:13:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you can see the frustration in his face then when there's a really good ball played and he's not there, or he's made a really good run and the ball's not there. um And I think it is a bit random, but difficult to play with those those players, especially when when we're still trying to, when the whole team is trying to understand how to play this new system.
00:14:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's very clear that they're not really comfortable in the positions that they're all playing in. Pretty much none of them are comfortable in it. um I made a point before that I actually don't know who the team is based around. Normally you'd have a focal point and you would say, oh, well, Bruno is our best player, but Bruno plays about three different positions every game. So he starts in the number 10.
00:14:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Then when we need to go for it, he drops back in they bring on Mount into the 10. And then he might play out wide at some stages as well. So um I think it is ah and more of a a United formation playing style.
00:14:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
issue rather than Hoyland being rubbish because I don't think he is um but yeah I agree he's kind of one of those all action ah strikers he's not like but he hasn't got an amazing first touch or anything he's more for one touch finish in the box a bit more of a poacher um but then his confidence has been so lacking that when he has had those chances this year he hasn't really been able to put them away so it's frustrating watching him because I think we're both in the same boat that we believe that there is something there, but it just, it's been two years and we haven't really seen it.
00:15:23
Sam Brady
Yeah, and I think you could say that about a lot ah lot of the players. These players aren't completely useless. it's just It's just a consistent sort of players coming in in into the into the team and it just not working for whatever reason and and the just inconsistencies in so many players.
00:15:42
Sam Brady
I mean, it's Yeah, you can scapegoat Hoyland, but you could say the same about Garnaccio. You could say the same about Casemiro.
00:15:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah.
00:15:50
Sam Brady
I mean, his first season, he was excellent. And then, obviously, he's dipped. And then now he's come back into form. So, there's so many individuals that you look at and and you just look at so many inconsistencies in their performances.
00:16:02
Sam Brady
And also, as you mentioned there, they're now being asked to play a completely different style to what was asked then ah ah from them under Ten Hag. i mean and And that's maybe suiting some players more than others.
00:16:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:16:15
Sam Brady
um And I think Hoyland's definitely a case of it's not really

Inconsistencies in Player Performances

00:16:20
Sam Brady
gelling and clicking for him right now. I mean, as as we said, there was a play there is a player in him and and we saw glimpses of that last season.
00:16:28
Sam Brady
and he And he did score a few goals for us last season. So you can tell there's definitely a player in there. But then Almorin's coming in and asking him to play a completely different style of play that that he's used to and and that I think doesn't suit him as a striker.
00:16:45
Sam Brady
I mean, we saw, like I said, i think you see Hoyland at his best where you pop a ball in behind the defence and get him chasing a defender shoulder to shoulder and and and get him inside the box.
00:16:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:16:58
Sam Brady
When you're just pumping a ball up to Hoyland and and trying to get him to touch it, as you said, his first touch isn't great anyway. And then he's looking to to pop off to someone and and no one's up there to support him.
00:17:09
Sam Brady
So I think it's very easy to sort of scapegoat the striker.
00:17:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:17:14
Sam Brady
um And then also Anana as well has been under criticism as well this season. and So strike stri number nine for United and in goal for United, you know, They are very sort of lonely positions worth when things aren aren't going well because all the sort of spotlight is on you.
00:17:31
Sam Brady
But I think it's very hard this season to sort of call out one or two individuals when, um i mean, as I've said, it's been a graveyard for players coming in in and out of the ah the squad for recent years.
00:17:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
you
00:17:43
Sam Brady
and And look at Scott McTominay now on the weekend. Yeah. or and they I mean, he's someone that ah we need right now in the box popping up with some goals for us at the minute. And it looks like he's he's about to help Napoli win the Serie A as well. So just another example of a player go going somewhere else and shining.
00:18:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely, and you're delighted for him as well, nearly to get out of the the cloud looming over the club at the moment because he was coming under so much stick as well and to see him kind of thriving there is is is brilliant. But ah yeah, we'll take another quick break and we'll be back with some even more depressing news.

Liverpool's Victory and Fan Impact

00:18:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
I feel like we have to touch on it, Sam. Unfortunately, um there was a ah big victory at Anfield yesterday um against Spurs. I mean, it was never in doubt really against Spurs.
00:19:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
um They weren't going to put up much of a fight, but yeah, the inevitable happened. Liverpool won the league, tied again on the top with United in terms of the the amount of league titles.
00:19:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's ah It's a bad day. It's a bad day and it's a bad year for the club.
00:19:28
Sam Brady
Yeah, I mean, I was actually speaking to me to my granddad earlier

Management Styles: Liverpool vs. Manchester United

00:19:31
Sam Brady
about this. And the thing is, a lot of people say when Klopp left, oh, Slott inherited and ah an amazing team as well. And a lot of people do make that comparison to when Fergie left, on obviously an end of an era.
00:19:47
Sam Brady
and and they And the argument a lot of the time is, oh, yeah, but Liverpool's squad was basically a title-winning team when Klopp left and Slott inherited it. But I honestly do think they got the appointment of Arnie Slott absolutely spot on. I mean, you can tell just by the way he carries himself. He's just such a relentless and sort of, he's got that arrogance that I think you need to be a successful modern day manager. Now, I think a lot of managers at the top, like the Artetas, the Peps, the Slott, they have a sort of ruthlessness and relentlessness
00:20:23
Sam Brady
attitude of winning at all costs and I think you see see that with Slott where he's always very animated but he's so ruthless and he's just he carries himself with such a good attitude and I think that that is sort of a perfect example of of how you you can get an appointment right and how you sort of can bring someone in who, who holds the same values as the sort of, as your predecessor, where I think a lot of the problem that has been with the United over the past couple of years has been the, the sort of scattergun approach of different managers that have,
00:21:01
Sam Brady
the that we've brought in managers and sort of completely reset where there's not been a sort of consistent level of this is where we are and this is where we want to get to.
00:21:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:21:12
Sam Brady
We've brought with we've tried sort of everyone's best friend in Ole, we've tried Mourinho, sort of the ruthless leader, we've tried the character in Van Gaal.
00:21:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:21:22
Sam Brady
All these different managers with all different attitudes and all different mindsets of how they want to play and and who they want to and who they want to sort of look bring into their squad.
00:21:33
Sam Brady
I think that's just been a catalyst of error after error and this is where we are. where Liverpool, the appointment of Arnie Slott, they clearly looked at his his profile, looked at his characteristics, looked what he did ah ah over in Holland and went, you know what, he's not too far off off off what Jurgen Klopp was sort of building and he's not too far off personality traits than Jurgen. So we'll bring him in and and obviously you've seen the the fruits of the labour straight away, unfortunately. so
00:22:07
Sam Brady
And to be honest, I've been disappointed that Arsenal haven't been able to sort of challenge this year. And it doesn't fill me with confidence, really, that they're going to be able to put up a fight against next year. So we'll we'll see about next season. But yeah, I mean, credit where it's due, that they have been unbelievable this year, unfortunately.
00:22:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. And, you know, they can only beat who's in front of them as well. And the other teams just didn't really put up the kind of consistent fight that's been going on over the past couple of years, particularly with with Arsenal and City. So um now they've been excellent. And another thing as well, that's kind of, you know, relating it back to you United did in a way.
00:22:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
they never panicked at all when they didn't sign anyone in the summer.
00:22:51
Sam Brady
Yeah.
00:22:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
So they obviously went hard after Zubramendi and then that fell through and it wasn't, you know, well, we need to buy someone because, you know, this is Klopp's squad. What's Slott going to do? Does he not want players?
00:23:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, It wasn't a Marwan Fleaney situation where you you're bringing in maybe a Dutch player that you played with you know like a couple of years ago just to kind ah make sure you have a friend there at the time to kind of back you up.
00:23:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And he just improved so many players throughout the season as well. like there's There's no one that that would have said that that Liverpool were going to win the league if it wasn't City, was going to be Arsenal.
00:23:22
Sam Brady
Yeah. Yeah.
00:23:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:23:29
Sam Brady
yeah

and they've just been excellent and you know it's interesting when you say is it is it a title winning squad at the start of the season you would have said no and now it's like oh yeah obviously but I mean some of those players in midfield like Jones and Gravenberg like they've been unbelievable and
00:23:45
Sam Brady
yeah
00:23:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
And obviously Sal has been incredible and and Van Dijk and everyone. But yeah, it's just, ah it is pretty sickening to see. and Obviously you can appreciate how good of a team they are, but it is Liverpool at the end of the day. So it is, it's pretty tough, especially when you're always surrounded by Liverpool fans.
00:24:02
Sam Brady
Yeah, and and the thing is, this is the concern I do have with Almorin and since he's come in. I really want to back him and and I really do feel like, obviously, we need to give him give him the the chance and and give him a summer window to sort of bring in players that that he wants to bring in.
00:24:20
Sam Brady
But you can't say there's been improvements since he's come in, in terms of a league position point of view.
00:24:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:24:27
Sam Brady
I mean, that's where you look at Slott, as you said, their midfield of Graven Birch, McAllister, and um'm I'm missing the other one.
00:24:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Jones or there's Harvey I mean doesn't play Harvey Alley that much but Sabaslay like these are solid players but they're not like you know
00:24:39
Sam Brady
Yeah. yeah
00:24:42
Sam Brady
I'll just try that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. so Yeah, exactly. if If you would have said at at the start of the season, Graveber, Sovis, Sly and McAllister, is that a title-winning midfield? You would have gone no, but Slott's instantly coming in and improving those players and taking them to the next level.
00:25:02
Sam Brady
And even Salah this year has probably had an all-time season for hit for his standards. Gravenberg has been one of the best midfielders in the league. Obviously, Canard and Van Dijk.
00:25:13
Sam Brady
And even with this contract situation as well, they haven't panicked.
00:25:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:25:17
Sam Brady
Obviously, the noise a lot of the external noise could have distracted the players, and but but they haven't panicked. They they got, obviously, the the two in in Salah and Van Dijk, and Trent was probably always going to move on move on to to Madrid.
00:25:33
Sam Brady
But I think that's where ah do have my my concerns in the in the back of my head where I'm like, I can see in some games sort of the style of play and and the players sometimes gelling and little plays we do going forward.
00:25:48
Sam Brady
And I'm like, OK, that's not bad here or there.
00:25:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:25:52
Sam Brady
But then when you look from a league perspective and and we're still right there near the bottom of the league, I'm like... we I ah would like to have seen just a little bit more improvement since Almorin's come in.
00:26:06
Sam Brady
But that being said, as I said at at the start my point, we'll give him a ah summer window to to bring in the players that can actually play this style of play. We'll see the players that depart because I think there needs to be a bit of an overhaul with the squad.
00:26:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:26:20
Sam Brady
and then And then we'll see at the start of the season where whether we start to to improve or not, really.
00:26:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, no, definitely. And I mean, we could chat all day about, i could i could chat for hours about Amarim's system and if it's going to work. And, you know, the leaders within the group, I think I had a chat with Kieran about this before, leaders are were within the group, you look at the other kind of title winning team, Liverpool this year, you just, there's leaders pouring out of everywhere there and there's captains all over the pitch.
00:26:46
Sam Brady
Thank you.
00:26:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, um yeah, ah there's there's a long, there's a long way to go for us, ah but we have to kind of start from, from where we are, obviously, and, And hopefully there there can be some improvement because I wanted to work for Amaran. But like you said, he came in in November, you know, end of November, December. Like it's been a while, you know.
00:27:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
um um There hasn't been a ah clear improvement or or even that many signs of improvement either. But we're going to stay hopeful. um We're going to crawl over this finish line of a season.
00:27:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I'm sure the lads will be doing a bit of a preview for the the Europa League game coming up this week as well. But Sam, thanks very much for joining me. um We had to get that episode over, drawing to Bournemouth and Liverpool winning the league. It's probably not the most exciting episode for a United fan or United podcast to do, but appreciate your time. And yeah, we'll see you in the next one.
