Deck: Nolan and I chatted yesterday about the defenses who we've played against, and I looked it up. In total defense, the Vikings have played the best defenses this year. You know, I think I posted it on our little text that we have going back and forth.

Deck: Like 14 .4 is the average. Defense. that we have played. And then, of course, Nolan goes to, well, yeah, that's because the Bears at the beginning of the year, they weren't that good, you know.

Deck: But. Well, I'm just, hey. they're Every team they played, with the exception of the Saints, is in the top. 15 defenses in the NFL. Just saying.

angrymike: you know You don't expect to win games. in the north how competitive it is you don't expect to win those road games Um, But. You know? Good. it doesn't make it any easier uh last sunday i mean dan campbell gift wrapped that victory for Green Bay going for it. inside his own 30 like a complete moron And they don't get it. Calls a terrible play call, loses a couple.
angrymike: yards and Green Bay just couldn't capitalize on it. And I think that you'll hear a bunch of stuff. You know, I i rage bait sometimes just to get. some impressions i mean come on give the old guy you know Something.
angrymike: But. Deep down, you know coming into the game, I think I predicted a three -point victory for the Lions in that game last week. um when we had our pod. so It's what I expected. It's just the way it happened. It was unexpected because they had.
angrymike: They had the lions. dead to rights late and just let him off the hook. so um Still extremely talented on offense. Their defense, even though they held Green Bay to 17 points still a lot of drops.
angrymike: The offensive line was on their third freaking center about five minutes into the game. Guy playing center never played center in his life. John Williams, and he held up pretty decent, actually.
N D: Yeah.

angrymike: Um. But. You know. It all comes down to blocking and tackling, and Green Bay didn't do a very good job with either one of those. so you know it is what it is
Deck: andt I'm going to go with the drops too, Mike. I saw a couple of big drops, a couple of big drops, you know, is what's up with golden.

angrymike: Pressured. 48 of his drop backs which is crazy Um, So obviously things are going to be off target and he's trying to get rid of the ball. So. you know I think that's all tied together. If you have a bad offensive line, you you tend to have a bad football team.
angrymike: So I think that's kind of what's aligning to Green Bay right now.

angrymike: You know? I was like, I'm surprised he didn't go try to peek the ball. And he let, of course, Brian Branch, one of the dirtiest players in the NFL, catch it.
Deck: And that. that To me, it was like, oh, boy, oh, boy. You give that Lions team and then it was sounded pretty loud in the in the old.

angrymike: Um... I... I think blaming the refs is a fool man's game because, to be honest with you, it happens to all teams. Refereeing is just terrible. But I did find some interesting nuggets this morning. um when I was kind of going through NFLpenalties .com.
angrymike: Believe it or not, it's out there. And.

angrymike: So, so green Bay is leading the NFL this year and flags 73 flags and 10 and seven games. So they're averaging 10. They're the worst in the NFL tied with the Browns.
angrymike: And. I started thinking to myself. Is this a Matt Lafleur problem? So I went back to like 2019 through 2022. And Green Bay averaged like 24th in penalties flags.
angrymike: So. they were very very good and disciplined right

angrymike: As soon as they switched over to Jordan Love in 2023. They're like eighth and in flags. So it's like they lost their discipline somehow. And I and i get a bunch of fans coming to me, well, Aaron Rodgers got all those gifts and the refs always did this and the refs always did that.
angrymike: But looking at the data, I mean, it's a stark contrast from 22. or 2019 to 22 to 23 through 26, Green Bay is one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL and now, and they're getting flagged for a ton of stuff.
angrymike: Um, So it's... It's not Jordan Love's fault, but... Is it? his command of the offense. Is it, um, the fact that the Packers have one of the youngest teams in the NFL for four straight years.
Deck: right
angrymike: I'm sure a lot of that contributes to it, but... In the past, when LeFleur started with Green Bay, they were a very disciplined team for his first three or four years. So it's just kind of weird how that flipped, you know, as soon as they moved to Love versus Rogers.

Deck: So does it break it down, Mike, by offense and defense too or not?
angrymike: It does.

angrymike: Well... no No, I take that back. It doesn't. um It's just... um It brings up like how much yardage they've lost, how many flags have been. thrown but then also what's it offset as is it positive or negative compared to what they're receiving from the other team

angrymike: And Green Bay was just has a huge deficit. So. That's just an interesting nugget. The other thing that I think is crazy is Green Bay has been called for eight roughing the passer penalties.
angrymike: Just in 2026. Jordan Love. in his entire career. only has been called for four. against him. Which I find... He just... this year is getting hit the most out of any quarterback in the NFL.
angrymike: and not one roughing the passer penalty at all. that That's just extremely odd to me. He's averaging one a year. And Green Bay already has eight. So I may dig into that deeper to see like where quarterbacks rank.

angrymike: Cause I'm sure Patrick Mahomes has had fricking 40 of them here in the last. Five years. So. Maybe he needs to fake it more. I don't know. but i don't get it that's ah just a stark contrast

N D: And you're still seeing some of those hits as well. You know, the the hit that... The Bears had. a couple weeks ago. That. on Hertz. One step in, one step out. Was he in? Was he out?
N D: He got clobbered. Should that have been a roughing the passer? It wasn't called. But... Yeah, I mean, I see love. i'm I'm not defending love on this by any means, but. I've seen love get hit a couple times and you're just like, whoa. I mean. Wow. he he He's getting...

angrymike: I mean, if it's obvious, like Austin Booker, you know, when he had the helmet to helmet last year, I mean, we can we can talk about that one if you want, but you know what I mean?

angrymike: There was another penalty that I found was really weird. I'd like to get your guys' third -party perspective on it. was the Amon Ross St. Brown where he went to the ground and there was no whistle.
angrymike: And then he got up and made like a sudden movement because he didn't hear a whistle like he was going to. Continue to run. And. Devontae Wyatt. stayed with him and put him to the ground but as putting them to the ground is St. Brown's cleat came up and kicked the ref in the nuts.
angrymike: So on his back, he throws a ah flag. for roughing the rough, you know, a roughing unnecessary roughness call on. Wyatt. It's like... They didn't blow the whistle, so what if St. Brown got up and ran that in for a touchdown and Wyatt didn't touch him?
angrymike: or didn't bring him to the ground.
N D: That was one of the...

angrymike: It's subjective. It's the NFL. These are old guys. They're going to make mistakes. Green Bay still had, if they kick those two field goals, if they take advantage of Dan Campbell being an idiot. They should have won that game regardless of the refs, and they didn't. Finish it. So.
