Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Daily Chelsea podcast. It is our last podcast of the week. It is, of course, forecast Friday. And we are predicting what's going to happen in the Chelsea and Forest game played on Sunday at two o'clock. I am joined today by two of my co-hosts, the lovely Luke. How are you doing, Luke?
00:00:32
Luke Charlton
Yeah, all good, all good, man. How are you?
00:00:35
officialgspn
Not too badly, not too bad. Be anxious for the weekend. I'm also joined by the marvellous Matt Seder.
00:00:42
Matt
Yeah, very well. Marvelous as ever.
00:00:45
officialgspn
here always good to hear um yeah guys so uh it's the last game before the international break if i'm correct um we face forest and of course this is um not an easier fixture but certainly um a kinder fixture than the ones we have after the international break of course our first game back will be in Liverpool away um But we did also play midweek guys. So let's do a quick, we've not really discussed our midweek result too much. So we'll we'll have a quick couple of minutes on that. um Of course, it was the Europa Conference League on Thursday night. Chelsea played Ghent and won 4-2. Luke will come to you first. What did you have? what What were your thoughts on the much changed lineup and our performance in that game?
00:01:30
Luke Charlton
i mean Generally, you can't be too disappointed when you kind of you get the victory you need. We're we're we're doing really well within the competition. It's a good way to start, i mean getting the four goals, keeping up the momentum, even with, as you say, this kind of second string side. um I think on the whole, they all pretty much did their jobs very well. A little bit of a sour note, obviously conceding two goals, and particularly maybe in the manner we did.
00:01:52
Luke Charlton
But I have to kind of remind myself that if you've got Colwell, Fafana and Gustavo in that back line, probably not going to concede that. um Just because I think it was a case of just switching off, maybe a lack of game time, a little bit of maybe, as you say, lack of rhythm for the season, because we're we're we're a few weeks in now. um And I think you can maybe notice the difference between the the players that aren't playing every week and and the players that play ah in the Premier League. But no, it was it was a really good game. It was good to have four different goal scorers. I was really happy with Trewsbury Hall.
00:02:22
Luke Charlton
getting his goal as well. I think he played really well. um And I really liked his comments after the game as well, in terms of just appreciating the the magnitude of the club and the step up, I think, for him, because obviously haven't played them or asked her at Leicester.
00:02:35
Luke Charlton
He really acknowledged the difference in terms of quality and expectations at a club like Chelsea. And it was really nice to kind of hear that. I mean, from, as you say, from ah from a player that would have walked into Mariska's team at Leicester and now is is is playing a bit of a backup player. So it's really nice sentiment to have similar to what um Vega, I think has been saying as well since he's joined the club. And he's been really, really good. And I thought he was a star performer yesterday as well. So, um yeah, it was, it was a really really all good round, all round good performance, I would say. um Just the the slight blemish being the fact that we maybe conceded two sloppy goals.
00:03:07
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, of course. And I think, you know, it's thiss one of those, again, where, you know, it was a second time in a row, we can see the two sloppy goals, not because of the same reason, but it's all right that we, you know, scoring for every game now, innit?
00:03:20
officialgspn
You know, park school just a quick start.
00:03:21
Luke Charlton
it's nice
00:03:21
Matt
could be worse
00:03:23
officialgspn
First time we scored four successive goals since Antonio Conte was in charge um in in
00:03:28
Luke Charlton
That season went quite well, his first one.
00:03:31
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, we didn't do too bad that year, did we?
00:03:31
Matt
again
00:03:33
officialgspn
and Yeah, it was it was it was that it was certainly an eventful game against Ghent at the bridge. A little bit of history to it as well, not um not between the two teams themselves, but of course, Andreja Johnson lined up for Ghent.
00:03:47
officialgspn
the son of the Iceman, Ida Johnson, of course, a massive legend for us.
00:03:52
Matt
Huge questions Yeah, absolutely, I think it's got to be Vega, I mean he got 8.9 man of the match 8.9 rating
00:03:52
officialgspn
and Matt, just before we quickly move on to predictions of the game on ah Sunday, um what did you think of our performance before to win, as Luke said, a couple of sloppy goals, um but a couple of players had really good performances.
00:04:04
officialgspn
Is there anyone you sort of pick out to take from that side to place on our lineup on Sunday?
00:04:16
Matt
ah from that game obviously he got his header which was a blooming good header actually from that angle it's pretty tough to to get it across the goal and in in that area um from the way that that came across but you know all you know props to mudrick as well getting that assist in i think that's great for his his confidence I'm wondering whether Vega is our new Aspliqueta in terms of can he just play everywhere?
00:04:38
Luke Charlton
o
00:04:39
Matt
You know, can he be the left back? Can he be the CDM? Can he be number 10? Can we just do him up a striker, you know, in a in a Champions League game next next year, just like Man City did with James Milner?
00:04:51
Matt
Is he that sort of player, you know, that we just go, yeah, we've got a space to fill. You can do it um because he was that.
00:04:56
officialgspn
yeah with those headers yeah with those headers yeah
00:05:00
Luke Charlton
Ooh.
00:05:01
Matt
Exactly. Yeah, exactly.
00:05:02
officialgspn
perfect
00:05:02
Luke Charlton
Yes.
00:05:02
Matt
Yeah. Why not? I mean, the, um, I think he's just got so much potential. Like you say, Luke, he loves the club. He's so ingrained into the club. I think he's just, he's really grateful to be, to have this opportunity and he's taken it with both hands.
00:05:15
Matt
So, um, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts putting, you know, Mark Kukarela on pressure for for the left back spot. or even, you know, if Kaiseido gets injured, sort of or Labia's out for a prolonged period of time, I could see him in going in midfield and slotting along Enzo quite nicely as well. So I think Vega's definitely the standout, but also, you know, Nkunku scoring again, Neto getting a goal as well, Neto's energy's brilliant, you know, with his celebration going straight back to Dassasi to celebrate, love that sort of appreciation and togetherness within the team. And Nkunku, you know, sort of with all the games that he's played,
00:05:51
Matt
and the season. His his goal rate is now a goal every 96 minutes, so he's really knocking on the door to to be our starter striker, considering that Jackson probably isn't quite at that level, albeit, you know, it he's got four goals and six games.
00:05:56
Luke Charlton
Yes.
00:06:05
Matt
You know, sort of when does Nkunku get maybe get a bit unrest um with not playing in the Premier League, I wonder, but I think we've got a good amount of games, you know, with the League Cup and Europa Conference and the FA Cup soon to come as well to to keep them all happy. um I do actually think being in the Europa Conference is the perfect level for us um at the moment, just because they are very winnable games, but we just need to keep winning to keep this confidence up. And I think that's what we really need to build as this project is in its early stages that we
00:06:39
Matt
Just keep winning. We keep putting it in the back of the net. Yeah, the goals that we're considering is a bit sloppy, but and that's going to be the thing. I think the defense is always going to be the hardest thing to to perfect when you get when you're building a team to become a title challenger and a title winner. So I think that will come in the next couple of years. And then hopefully in two or three years, we'll be challenging for the prem.
00:07:01
officialgspn
Yeah, ah I completely agree with you there, Matt. And it's just on Vega as well. I think it i think is really we've really found a gem there, which has been lovely out of all these pairs we've signed. you know We found a proper gem, not one that we paid 40, 50 million for.
00:07:16
officialgspn
I completely agree with you about him being possibly the next Aspie as well. he's but he's He's a bit like he's he's like the player of Aspie.
00:07:20
Luke Charlton
It's early days lads, geez.
00:07:25
officialgspn
and
00:07:25
Matt
You know, with the Lord, you know, exactly.
00:07:26
officialgspn
He's a bit like, he's got, he's not like the quality of Espinacuato and also, yeah, as you say, like the the variety and positions, but he, um he's also got like the passion of like a David Louise, like David Louise when he first came to us, just loved the club.
00:07:27
Luke Charlton
He does, yeah.
00:07:40
officialgspn
Like he's just speaks out for us every every press conference, you know, he backs up his teammates constantly. um And it's definitely adding to, you know, sort of the feeling that we might have a bit of a special group here again.
00:07:51
officialgspn
um As Luke says, though, very early days, but um we're showing a bit of promise.
00:07:54
Matt
Yeah. yeah
00:07:56
officialgspn
And obviously, you know, as Matt said as well, you know, your your conference is perfect for us, because even if we had a bad result on the weekends, you know, we would have been offered an opportunity to bounce back four days later, um which is really important.
00:08:07
officialgspn
I think very important for a young squad as well. um we'll We'll discuss a bit more about the the Forest game after the break, um but just quickly before we go to that, what do we think of the tests that's actually facing us on Sunday? and We've only lost two games so far, one of them being Manchester City, arguably the best team in the world, um the other one against Sivette, and I think you know we we were slightly on the beach in that game, just trying to avoid a result that didn't knock us out. But you could argue that the caliber of the club that we faced so far is on a similar level of forest, besides maybe, you know, West Ham, we expected to do a bit more bright and I think we expected a bit of a tougher challenge. um What do you think about the test that's facing us on Sunday? Matt, we'll come to you first. Do you think, ah we should we be looking to get an easy three points from this game or is there a lot to be wary of when it comes to forest?
00:09:00
Matt
We definitely should expect a win because of our form, because we're at home and because of the stature of the club. But it's not goingnna going to be an easy win by any stretch. Forests, they do look quite rejuvenated this season under Nuno. They look like they've got a real solid plan that similarly, they there are a team that has like real morale, and they've got some really key players like Gibbs White and Hunter Dondoy, who can really hurt us. um You know, Chris Wood, he's already got three goals this season, which, you know, for that sort of team, I think that is great for their striker to to have that many goals already this season. So it's going to be a tough test. And I think Nuno is going to play a hardball game, but we'll get to that later.
00:09:44
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah i think is I think the one of the key things that you just mentioned is going to be Nuno. Me and luke Luke, I'll come to you in a second, we would were on the podcast with Forrest and they they quite liked how flexible he's been in terms of his tactics so far. um As I just mentioned Luke, you join me on the on the um the crossover with Forrest after hearing in their thoughts on the thought flexibility of Nuno and of course a couple of their danger players as well, including a couple of returning players, Hudson ado and Doi and Oleana. What do you think about the test that faces off the forest this Sunday?
00:10:16
Luke Charlton
I think they they're going to be well organized and they're going to be well set up, whatever kind of formation they try to go for. It's going to be very different matchup to the Brighton game where it's two philosophies that colliding and it's essentially who's got the who's got the better setup, who's got the better tactics on the day. I think this is very much going to be a pragmatic approach from Forrest. I think they're going to want to catch on the counter. They're going to want to use pacing behind. um I wouldn't be surprised if they started um I think, as I mentioned in the in the podcast, when we did the crossover, that um with with the two wingers of Alanga and Hudson Adoist up from the start, I think that would be quite quite a an interesting setup for themselves. um I mean, you can have Gibbs White is going to be kind of chomping up the bit to want to have a good game, particularly after the red card in their previous game before the Fulham one against Brighton. He'll want to be proving a point, I think. um he's just been I think he's just been named again in the in Lee Carsley's squad for the for the upcoming England internationals as well.
00:11:11
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:11:11
Luke Charlton
So he's going to be buoyed, I think still, that he yeah he's an important he is important for club and potentially for country now.
00:11:17
Luke Charlton
So he'll want to be shown his qualities in the pitch. So he could be a threat. He's always he's always quite dangerous. And it's a big game for him to show his ability. So they there are players to watch out for. They've got danger men.
00:11:28
Luke Charlton
But I think it will be probably more cagey than certainly in the leb Brighton game. So I think we're going to have to be wary. and not lose confidence if if it's still 0-0 at halftime, because particularly we've been used to playing teams away a lot in the start in in of recent games. So I wouldn't be too too skeptic to against it being 0-0 no goals at halftime. But yeah, I think ultimately we're going to be able to we're gonna be able to um have the flexibility and maybe another one where, as you said, with Nkunku coming in, wanting to prove a point himself as well, could be one for the substitutes ah that make a difference later on in the game. So yeah, it's going to be an interesting game for sure.
00:12:06
officialgspn
Yeah, 100%. And we'll we'll discuss a bit more about what sort of tactics and players we expect to line up just after we we have this short break and we'll be back.
00:12:16

Hello everybody and we are back on Forecast Friday with the Daily Chelsea podcast. I'm of course joined by Luke and Matt. and Yes, we face Forest 2pm on Sunday. um We've discussed a little bit about our midweek feature fixture this season so far um and who we should potentially be a bit worried about.
00:13:20
officialgspn
um It's going to be a tough test for us, definitely. um and you know Besides the last game, our home form at the Bridge has not been you know been incredible. um We need to really hope that we're kicking up our home form now, and you know if we compete for each other, I'll definitely be adding to that.
00:13:38
officialgspn
um Luke Ramirez on the crossover, one of the things that Ferris said to us was, their wingers are definitely something that we should be worried about. Not necessarily from the start, as it sort of looks like that they're typically lining up with a 4-4-2 at the moment with wood and 1-year.
00:13:53
officialgspn
um very much pushing on to the centre backs. They have Anderson and Domingo as sort of starting against their wide-mid fielders, but what typically seems to happen with them is their fallback to push on a bit more, which is obviously one of our returning players, Olorina and Moreno on the other side. um And one of the things we really need to be wary of is the players they have to bring off the bench, you know, namely Hudson and Doy and Anthony and Lange, if they do line up in a very similar fashion to last week.
00:14:19
officialgspn
um Do you think Maresco is anticipating this and he's going to make some changes? We've already discussed a little bit about you know Vega or Cucarello at left that left back. Gusto has only just returned so it could be a very challenging day for him. um Do you think Maresco is anticipating this? Do you think we'll change our tactics to to accommodate?
00:14:39
Luke Charlton
I think i think he's he's certainly aware of the threat that Forest face. um and i think I do ultimately think he's going to keep a similar line up to the start of our previous game just from the point of Consistency and the fact that there was a whole different 11 that started in in midweek as you said So I think it's very much a case of rest and rotate um So I don't see Vega coming in. I see it's still been coca-rilla from the start I think particularly with a back line you want to keep some consistency there um But the only potential change may be Madaweki finetto just because he's probably been
00:15:16
Luke Charlton
um the least impactful performer for us in attack in the last few weeks. Whereas I think Sancho Jackson and Palmer have rightly so got all the headlines.
00:15:22
officialgspn
Thank you.
00:15:27
Luke Charlton
ah He's probably got a little bit under the radar, but a little bit um back to maybe his frustrating self for the for for the fans to watch him play. um ah There's no doubt that his quality is there when when he finally hits top form, but maybe at the moment he's maybe trying a little bit too hard, so a rest and maybe a substitute appearance to change a game um may maybe may be needed for him to kind of find that that that top form again.
00:15:48
Luke Charlton
But no, I think on the whole, we'll probably line up very similar to how we have done in the last few weeks because we're finding some consistency now. I think every time Enzo and Kaiseido are playing together, theyre they're starting to get better and better. They're learning um each other's rhythms now in terms of how they play. And I think um we had examples of Kaiseido had a brilliant game against West Ham and I thought Enzo was really, really good against them against Brighton. So it's a nice it's a nice balance now where actually I'm not particularly worried really about the lineup. Whereas before it was a case of, oh, we need this person to play. And if they're not playing well, we have to rely on Palmer. Whereas now, obviously Palmer is far and away one of our best players and one of the best players in the league. But it is more a case of we've got enough talent there. They're all adjusting well to the system that I think they're going to have enough quality to break down for us. And ah yeah, I'm not particularly worried in terms of whether they start with Hudson and Doria and they land go or they bring them off the bench. I think we'll have enough to be able to cope with them.
00:16:45
officialgspn
Yeah, hopefully so. and And it's definitely going to be interesting in terms of what players are able to cope with who defensively. um Speaking of Matt, like we we played Brighton last week. um There was one goal scorer for us and we scored four goals.
00:17:01
officialgspn
um this will be obviously Cole Palmer's first game of playing since we're in those four goals last week um do you maybe expect a bit of a quieter game from from Palmer because Forrest will be so aware of his attacking presence maybe man marking him out of the game and we possibly see um attacking contributions from the other players instead as as you know a lot of people are focused on Cole Palmer or do you think we're going to see you know maybe another couple of goals a couple of assists from our star man
00:17:26
Matt
I think we're absolutely going to see more goals than it says from Palmer in this game. you know as in Obviously, he's hit those four goals so ah last week, and that's really got all the headlines over the last seven days. But everyone saw this last season. So if they're not man-marking him based off last season, then I don't really know why they would do that now, because surely last season was the whole evidence of how good Palmer is. And maybe they're thinking, oh, he can't reach the heights again, you know second season syndrome and all of that.
00:17:54
Matt
But at least with Parma, you know he's showing no fear, ah just supreme confidence. And now he's got better players around him. Sancho's there, Neto's there, and everyone else is just a better because it's a season on. So if Forest do man mark him, I think that's the only way you actually can nullify Parma. So I do recommend Forest do that.
00:18:17
Matt
you know to have a chance of really really stopping him because he is that good he is yeah obviously he's so far away from Messi but in terms of what he was doing against Brighton was there were elements of Messi S just wandering off to the left left wing or right wing and then just lobbing a ball over the top to Jackson and lo and doing it in and Why not? He's got the ability to do it, you know, so he can kind of just do what he wants. um So I do expect him to be man marked if Forrest really want to get a point or anything more from from the game this Sunday. But and yeah, as in why not? So if he's on this red hot form, I definitely expect it to be a high scoring game, both with Forrest and Chelsea. um Is it too early first score predictions, Jake?
00:19:01
officialgspn
ah yeah we we're doing those long
00:19:05
Matt
Um, no, yeah, but as in I think I actually think forest may may take a different approach to most teams because Most teams have tried to press us because we'd like to play out from the back and I think there may be an element of that but I don't think they'll press as high as Brighton had because we just saw through their Highline so easily and so When Brighton, I'm sorry, when Forest do have the ball, I think they'll try and play their game quite cleverly with the wingers and get crosses in.
00:19:26
officialgspn
Yeah, we're doing those last.
00:19:31
Matt
But I think when we've got the ball, they'll actually try and maybe park the bus quite a lot and actually just have a big low block because we haven't really come and get up against that sort of defensive challenge yet.
00:19:43
Matt
And I think that might be a bit of ah a question mark that Nuno's seen on Maresco and Chelsea so far. And he might want to just give that a go and see if they can then counter on us because we can be quite leaky at the back.
00:19:56
officialgspn
Yeah, 100%. It's gonna be, hopefully that doesn't really happen because I'm quite worried if we're if we're open to the counter attack early and then as we've already discussed, you know, players like Hudson of the White and Alanga comes on, that could just be, could just spell defeat for Chelsea really. and Well, we will discuss the full lineup and of course, as Matt has already alluded to, the score predictions for the Chelsea Forest game as well. We'll have a very quick break first and we'll see you in a second.

every club, every day. And we are back for the final part of our forecast Friday. It is, of course, the Eddie Chelsea podcast with myself, Jake, Luke and Matt. and Yes, we've discussed a bit about the lineup and such so far. I think we're probably maybe in agreement that we're we're going to have a very similar lineup to the Brighton team. So um maybe maybe we'll do a couple of quick fires here. um Luke, Jackson, Orton, Cuckoo for this Sunday.
00:21:25
Luke Charlton
And Kunku's been excellent, but I think I said after the battle with my boy Niko Jackson up top, he he hasn't done poorly enough to warrant being dropped. If you're balancing out saying Kunku's done enough to be starting, I don't think Jackson has done enough to not be starting. So I think at the moment you've got to keep going with him. I think he is building more and more of a relationship with Palmer and with Sancho, particularly on the left-hand side. I think they're interchanging quite well.
00:21:54
Luke Charlton
um So I think he he's hes his great foil and more of a physical presence for Forest Backline than maybe Nkunku would be. um So I think ultimately, for me, it has to be Jackson over Nkunku just for the time being. But yeah if if if he if he keeps if he if he doesn't add any value in the attack, in the sense of an assist or a goal, then yeah, Nkunku is there, hot on his heels to take that spot.
00:22:21
officialgspn
fair yeah i think i think i'm in agreement with you i think i think jackson's been good enough to to keep his place for sunday matt do you have a differing opinion
00:22:29
Matt
No, I got to stick with Jackson. Uh, love that in Cuckoo's on hot form in terms of scoring, but I think Jackson adds a lot more in terms of buildup and just running to, to open up space for everyone else, particularly Palmer. And by the way, in Cuckoo scoring, I think he's at the moment best use as a super sub just to nick a goal in.
00:22:48
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, sort of absorb agree there. I think we may need it on Sunday as well. but's i think That's something to realize. You know, I think i think the substitution is good matter a lot in these games.
00:22:55
Matt
Yeah.
00:22:57
officialgspn
and Another quick fire question. Matt would go to you first. Vega or Kookarela.
00:23:03
Matt
Gotta stick to Kukarela again. I do love this first team, second team that we've got going on. And Kukarela, I think at the moment, is a better inversion for the midfield to give Kaiseido that support and let Enzo Fernandez beat Enzo Fernandez with his creativity. um But who knows? Like we say, Fieger could really be molding himself well into the Cesar Azkabala Kuerta role well. um So yeah, up for contention, but definitely sticking with Kukarela for now.
00:23:35
officialgspn
Luke same question for you
00:23:37
Luke Charlton
Yeah, I think, I think you've got, you've got to still go Kukarela. Again, he's someone that, he wears his heart on his sleeve when he plays and it took him a while to go and find top form at Chelsea. But again, he's not playing in a position to feel like he's, sorry, he's not playing in a way that you feel like he's a problem or needs to be taken out of the team or that Vega is adding something that he probably can't do himself. Um, they're slightly different profiles in in how they approach the game. Um, but yeah, I think Kukarela he's just, every game he plays, he, um,
00:24:05
Luke Charlton
He's endearing himself to the Chelsea fans more and more I feel. so it's um yeah i think I think he still has to be still be down as I'll start and left back for sure.
00:24:14
officialgspn
Something, something I should have maybe looked at just before I asked that question. Um, just to mention that, and i'll I'll ask just, just the yes or no from you both again on, on, well, no, just the Cucarello Vega on both of you again, just cause Cucarello is actually on four Premier League yellow cards.
00:24:23
Luke Charlton
oh
00:24:28
officialgspn
And if he does get booked on Sunday, that would mean he is out of the Liverpool game. So a quick Cucarello Vega from you both again, uh, Luke could go you first.
00:24:39
Luke Charlton
Yeah, I'm i'm right or die for this man. I think he has to still start. If he gets himself booked, we can have words afterwards. But I think I'd back him enough to be able to be avoid his fifth yellow card.
00:24:52
officialgspn
Brave, brave of the wing as a forest. and Matt, what about you?
00:24:56
Matt
Yeah, to be honest, i'm I'm the same in terms of, yeah, you know, we've got to take that risk. And after the next international break, our next five games are properly tough. We've got Liverpool. We've got United. We've got many, many tough. We've got Newcastle in there, even Arsenal towards the end of November. It's really tough. And so.
00:25:16
Matt
I'd rather he got that fifth yellow card probably as soon as possible um just to kind of wipe this way the but the slate clean ah just because i don't really I'd rather have him against all the other teams and then just miss him out on new on on Liverpool if it comes to it. um So yeah, still sticking with Kookarela.
00:25:40
officialgspn
Yeah. Yeah. I think it's tough to display someone like Kukarela as well. I think we have to remember it's only two months ago. He was holding a, you know, the European trophy um after the summer. and Definitely someone I'd want to keep in the lineup. I think what Vega is, again, you know, it's just great to have these, as you said, Matt, these players knocking on the door. We'll do one last one ah for you both. Non-Emedowake to be dropped for Pedro Neto. Matt, yes or no?
00:26:07
Matt
I'm gonna say no which may be a slightly controversial um because yes Neto is gearing up in his performances and does have that electric pace. But I think it's a similar discussion of Sanchez or Jorgensen in terms of, we can't, as much as Sanchez made those mistakes against Brighton, and by the way, he hasn't been as amazing as he was against Wolves. We can't drop people like that straight away, as in I think that will really knock his confidence if he's left out of the starting 11. But um I did think on this in terms of if he has a real,
00:26:43
Matt
You know stinker of a first half or he's not really doing much. Just get him off straight away Like don't hold back. That's one of the things I really love about maresca in terms of you know against wall against wolves mudrick off at halftime for netto against born with netto off at halftime for sancho, like he's not afraid to make those decisions and so By the way, he knows the situation so he knows he needs to step up and why not give him that chance?
00:27:07
officialgspn
Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, I agree with you. is it's It's definitely a tough call-over between Nutter and Madawake. Luke, what would you say on those two?
00:27:15
Luke Charlton
Well, just so we don't agree on everything, I'm going to say, we'll bring in Neto and and we'll drop Matawaki. Not from a point of view of that, I'm fairly ambivalent either way, but I think it would be nice to see Neto played well against Ghent, scored a goal, has been performing consistently apart from, as you say, maybe the blemish of the Bournemouth performance. um It would be good to see him to to to to get a place from the start. I think defensively he showed some really good moments against Ghent as well.
00:27:45
Luke Charlton
um And so that could be quite useful for us, particularly trying to stop counter attacks, having someone with that energy in that pace on the defensive side of things, very much in the, in the Willian vein of ah a player of yesterday year that probably could do, in his prime could do some damage in this team. But yeah, I think it would be nice to see someone be rewarded for a positive performance. But again, I'm i'm not against the matter where you're coming in. But yeah, it'd it'd be nice to see one change in the lineup there. We'll go with Neto coming in from the start.
00:28:15
officialgspn
Yeah, and I mean, but both players have firm as many goals and as many starts as well, obviously different competitions. But um yeah, this might be it. This might be a good chance. And of course, it's our last game for the international break as well. It will possibly largely decide who starts against Liverpool away when we come back.
00:28:31
officialgspn
and It's going to be tough. We've, we've sort of, we sort of discussed that and I've analyzed that, but now I must ask everyone for your, um, score predictions. Luke, what would the score be? Sunday, two o'clock at Stanford bridge.
00:28:51
Luke Charlton
Well, I've had some time to reflect on the score prediction I gave in the crossover episode. And I think I'm still going to go with the same decision. um Yeah, I think 2-1. I think we could um go behind potentially early. um Hopefully not, but but we could. There's obviously the ability to think they could they could get a goal. And then I think we will we'll find a way to get to break them down. We'll get an equalizer. At that point, they may shut up shop to hold on for what they have.
00:29:20
Luke Charlton
I think it'd be fairly cagey. I don't think we're going to score a lot of goals like we have done in recent fixtures, but I think we'll we'll find a way to get it over the line. Kind of dissimilar to to the to the Palace game. where We just couldn't find a way through. um I think we are a few weeks down the line now. We've had enough experience with Mareska's system and his style of build up that I think we would find a route through um through to to getting a second done and getting all three points. But yeah, you've touched on it before. I think the substitutes could be important for us as well.
00:29:49
Luke Charlton
um And having players like Jalfi, Lix and Kunku and even Mudrick that can come off the bench is is is really quite a valuable asset for us at this moment. So um I'm confident that we'll we'll be able to get it done for sure.
00:30:01
officialgspn
Yeah, I think I'm actually, after all yeah after off the crossover, I think I'm very much in agreement. I think i think i think it's 2-1 to us on on Sunday. I think, yeah, A couple of, I think an early goal, maybe from Forrest first. I think they're going to really, really push up against us and getting our faces. But I think we'll be able to claw it back. i I was thinking 3-1, but I think maybe just 2-1, because I also quite like the quality of their defense, to be honest. um And of course, we also remember they have gone to Liverpool and won away 1-0 as well, stopped Liverpool from scoring, who are just the most efficient team in terms of attack this season. and Matt, we'll finish with you. What do you think is going to be the score on Sunday?
00:30:39
Matt
I'm going 4-2 baby, you know, let's get the scoreline going.
00:30:41
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:30:42
Matt
Let's have a hat-trick of 4-2s. Like, why not? And I do think with it's actually going to be another high scoring game because everything that we've discussed. First, I've got their lethal threats, but they can also concede a sloppy goal.
00:30:59
Matt
They've got that in them. And and I do think when you've got players like Cole Palmer and and Sancho, particularly, I think they can just open up a defense so easily. So um I think it's going to the narrative is going to go more like we'll go to nil up and then we'll make some stopping mistakes, bring them back to all to all. And then in the second half, we'll get another two goals and then take them to three points.
00:31:25
officialgspn
Hopefully.
00:31:26
Matt
Yeah.
00:31:28
officialgspn
Yeah, I mean, it's it it's not too bad to have another entertaining game. Just hopefully if it is your. Yeah. will yeah
00:31:32
Matt
as if As long as it's the right result.
00:31:33
Luke Charlton
Yes, so yeah, it's your way, yeah.
00:31:34
Matt
Yeah. yeah
00:31:37
officialgspn
Also, as long as it isn't a couple of mistakes that lead to those two goals, hopefully it just comes from the quality of maybe ah maybe a former play, Hudson at the moment.
00:31:41
Matt
Maybe.
00:31:45
Matt
maybe
00:31:45
officialgspn
Let them have a nice, a nice day out as long as we get our four goals, as as you said. yeah and So, yes, of course, Chelsea, just for the final time, played not so far as TPM on Sunday in the Premier League. It will be 100 percent a tough game. But Chelsea, you know, I think the general consensus here is that we should be picking up the three points The last game before the international break as well Matt it's been fantastic to have you with us today for forecast Friday Luke it's been lovely to have you with us as well
