Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Daily Chelsea podcast, which, of course, is the Daily Forest podcast today as well. It is, of course, crossover Thursday, where two teams crossover for the week, the two teams that are playing each other. And of course, Chelsea play Nottingham Forest at home on Sunday, 2 p.m. Unfortunately, not on TV. it was ah It's only on a Sunday because of Chelsea's Europa Conference league game on Thursday.
00:00:40
officialgspn
and We are joined by, of course, the Daily Forest team. Big welcome to Stuart. How are you doing, mate?
00:00:47
Stuart
I'm all good. Jake, good to see you. And I'm wondering, um are we always going to hear a GSPN crossover Thursday with with whichever random Eastern European team you guys are playing in the conference league?
00:01:00
officialgspn
We don't know the language. There's a language barrier, Stuart, mate, I think, it's ah to basically every team we'll face.
00:01:04
Stuart
may Maybe next year.
00:01:04
James Rigby
Salty.

Stuart

I'm also joined by James from the Forest team as well. James, how you doing?
00:01:12
James Rigby
Yeah, doing all right, mate. Looking forward to crushing some Palmer violets.
00:01:18
James Rigby
That was a good dad joke, come on.
00:01:19
officialgspn
Ooh!
00:01:23
officialgspn
Ooh! I don't like that. I don't like that at all.
00:01:25
James Rigby
Just thought of that.
00:01:25
officialgspn
and ah I'm also joined by my Daily Chelsea colleague, Luke.
00:01:30
James Rigby
Sorry.
00:01:34
officialgspn
Luke, how you doing, mate?
00:01:36
Luke Charlton
um'm Very, very well, thank you. i'm I'm here to back you up for and when the the jokes get a little bit too personal about Palmer, it seems.
00:01:44
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah ah maybe maybe the forest for us guys need to be a little bit quiet. He scored four the last game. ah Let's make sure he's not there.
00:01:52
Luke Charlton
a
00:01:53
officialgspn
He might watch this and take vengeance. You never know. You've got to be careful. um and So yes, of course, yeah Chelsea play Forest on the weekend and it's going to be an interesting game. um Of course, there's a returning player and both teams are heading into the game in brilliant form. and Besides Forest lost that weekend, they were unbeaten up until that point.
00:02:16
officialgspn
um have started the season really well, as have Chelsea. I don't know if either team were expected to start this well, but we have done. Stuart, I'll come to you first, mate. What um what have you thought of of sort like the first opening 6-7 games of your season? um How has it been under Nuno? How has you know how hows everything in general been with with Forest?
00:02:39
Stuart
Yeah, it's been a bit bit of a mix. um I gave it seven out of 10 when James asked me there the same question on our show a couple of days ago. But a positive seven out of 10 certainly wouldn't have been as high in any of our previous Premier League years.
00:02:53
Stuart
But the strange thing is our form hasn't come in the games we'd expect it to have to have come in. So six games in to be on on nine points top half, completely fine with that.
00:03:05
Stuart
But the fact when you then look a bit deeper, than the fact that we've shown
00:03:07
officialgspn
Thank you.
00:03:09
Stuart
So it's great potential by winning winning at Liverpool and battling to get a a good point against Brighton to then, on the other hand, not having one at home all season. That's where the slight, slight doubts are beginning to creep in that, are we going to be the team who occasionally pulls a great result out of the bag like the Liverpool one or in our true level nearer towards that the team that haven't yet won one at home? So that's why I'm really interested to see our test on Sunday and whether we're going to be able to pull out the stocks and compete with you guys or whether it will unfortunately set as a slide down into the from the depths of back to the depths of mid table.
00:03:48
officialgspn
Interesting and it's it's it's interesting looking into the forest because I think from from the outside looking in it's it's like the players there seem to have a lot of potential. like you've You've always made like quite interesting signings, signings that really should be boosting you forward. and James, what do you think like the results you've had this season ah are sort of like your players meeting their potential or do you think you could potentially go further as well? Do you think you're going to really give us a challenge on Sunday?
00:04:14
James Rigby
um I think we will give you a challenge. um we've We've kind of gone through a ah three season, the first season we couldn't lose at home. home was a fortress couldn't buy a point away last season away form wasn't good home form suffered this season we we can't win at home but away against big teams we can't lose good thing for you after last season Chelsea not such a big team so it should be a balance sorry ah but yeah
00:04:50
James Rigby
I think i think well we'll do okay. And yes, and some of our younger players who were big names, Hudson or Doy, and people like that, coming back to the Premier League, Elanga, kicking around, some of the relationships that they're starting to get going should scare you.
00:05:14
officialgspn
Yeah, i've' I'm definitely a bit worried and I think I think the main thing for me is that that away form just because it collides with Chelsea just having not very good home for, to be honest, that was our um that was our first win at home in five months, I believe, or that's our second win in five months at home. um And I think it's only our fourth win at home this year. So it's so.
00:05:37
officialgspn
that clashing with our not brilliant home form although it may be improving after a home win last week against Brighton, um yes definitely does give me cause for concern. um Luke, forests have looked good this season of course, um especially against things like Liverpool, you know managing to get a massive win there. and How worried are you for forests this Sunday?
00:05:59
Luke Charlton
I think i think ah you have to be you have to be cautious, quietly cautious, I mean for us we've we've improved but the fact that the the The victory we got the the last weekend was was one of our kind of most impressive performances at home as well. It's going to be always quite difficult for us to think of. um Forest could come in. They've got that big game experience, as you say, from from away fixtures already. They're going to be buoyant. They're going to be wanting to wanted to to hit us where it hurts. And I think that it's something to be wary of, and particularly the recent results of the bridge as well. they' they've gone They've gone quite quite well for Forest, thinking about like kind of last last season as well.
00:06:34
Luke Charlton
So I think we we just have to set ourselves out and and be prepared for kind of, I think defensively they're going to be pretty solid. They're going to try it they're going to try and exploit us with with a lot less of the ball. But I think for Maresca, what I've been impressed with him in particular, and we're going to come on, I think, to the tactics in a little bit, but is how he has adapted to style slightly for Chelsea in every game. So I think he'll have a potential plan to to kind of undo what Nuno's going to do. Whether it comes off or not, it's going to be interesting to see.
00:07:03
officialgspn
Yeah, and and I think that's another key feature of this game, isn't it? is it' It's definitely going to be a bit of a tactical clash. Stuart, I'll come to you again. what what what When I saw Nuno appointed to Forest, that was a bit like...
00:07:18
officialgspn
Really? like his the like ah It's not as if I don't like Nuno as a manager. I just think i think there's maybe a manager who would appease your fans more. I don't know if that's correct or not, but I think there's probably a manager you could have got that maybe appease your fans more. However, and how has Nuno in general done um for you so far? Have you been quite happy with the football? I think i think the results, I could make maybe make a guess and say that you've you've been pretty happy this season, but in terms of the general football that you've been playing, how have you been have you been happy with that?
00:07:47
Stuart
Yeah, it's it interesting you mentioned, could have got someone better or more exciting when the vacancy first became available. So it it was down as far as we're aware for between two names. So Oliver Glazner, who of course went on to have Great success at Palace towards the end of last season, slightly less so this year, but he's still a highly rated multiple title winning manager, or Nuno. And if you believe what you hear, the reason Nuno got it over Glazner was because of the links with the super agent George Mendez.
00:08:19
Stuart
Um, so I think that's possibly why when he first came in, he was replacing a Steve Cooper who had gotten as as promoted after 23 years away. So he still does have that special place in in the hearts of all fans to someone who was signed purely because he had to say his agent was mates with the owner. So initially there was a lot of, um, a lot of skepticism there. Um, but just ask a quick question.
00:08:45
Stuart
back if I were to say, put you on the spot and say, what is Nuno's favorite tactics from his rules days? What would you say?
00:08:53
officialgspn
formation five maybe
00:08:55
Stuart
Yeah, exactly.
00:08:56
officialgspn
um say
00:08:56
Stuart
at for Five of the backs. That was what we were all expecting to come in. um But then his first or two of his first three games were a home win against Man United, 3-1 win away against Newcastle on Boxing Day, and neither of them use that back five.
00:09:13
Stuart
ah He surprised us. um He's been playing a bit more attacking than and william we thought, and also he's mixed it up as well. in Our most recent game against Fulham even went for an old-fashioned 4-4-2. So it'll be very and interesting, like you say, to see the tactical bats battle between the two managers this Sunday.
00:09:30
officialgspn
Yeah, ah it's going to be an interesting, definitely just the formations Lylin and I put against each other. And I think but probably one of the things you're saying there as well is is that Nuno is probably a bit more variable in his tactics the he than he was in previous spells. um Is that something you found, James? And have you also been happy generally with Nuno so far?
00:09:49
James Rigby
Yeah, but after last week we've got no idea what he's going to do. ah We discussed it earlier in the week on the POD ah and Tactics Tuesday. We've got no idea that that 442 was coming. um So this Sunday, who knows what he's going to do.
00:10:06
James Rigby
Um, stats wise forest for the counter-attack number one for the, the fast counter-attack, um, number one for that in the league. So you think, well, keep that going, you know, let Chelsea have the ball, um, and then pounce when we can, but that.
00:10:26
James Rigby
That leaves for quite an open game. um Because as we move forwards, obviously there's more room for you guys to move. That's what happened with the Fulham game. We played the 4-4-2. And then after 60 minutes, we switched to our usual counter-attack. And it became a very open game. Similar thing against Liverpool, defended well. um And then towards the end of the game,
00:10:51
James Rigby
um Open things up got the goal. So I can imagine that it's going to be a similar thing at the bridge and That will be very compact very well drilled for the first 75 minutes and then bring on a couple of really pacey players that um hopefully Will give us a 1-0 win
00:11:19
officialgspn
Fair enough. Yeah. I mean, I mean, it could happen. I'd say it's a bold prediction to possibly to say that Chelsea won't score based on recent form, but you never know with Chelsea's just recent home form as well.
00:11:26
James Rigby
Yeah.
00:11:31
officialgspn
And we'll discuss a bit more about, uh, our tactical preview, uh, new no versus where I spent the weekend plus, uh, the return of a former Chelsea player after this quick break.

and we are back on the Daily Chelsea slash Daily Forest podcast is of course crossover Thursday, Chelsea hosting Forest this Sunday in the Premier League. um So we've just spoken a little bit about the tactical clash we may see between Maresco and Nuno and of course how Forest fans of so ah have felt about Nuno in general so far. and One of the big things I would say is the return of a player who's already returned a couple of times.
00:12:46
officialgspn
Um, but Chelsea fans in general, I think are maybe a bit split on if we ever should have originally sold him or not, if we should have pushed on with him. Um, Hudson and Doi definitely showed some really early signs of, um, promise for us. But in the end, I think, you know, the combination of us, obviously switching managers quite a lot, you know.
00:13:05
officialgspn
just the general barriers for youth in our team anyway, um plus the fact he maybe didn't take ah advantage of a couple of performances he did get, which was which was tough to do anyway, um meant that Chelsea did sell him on.
00:13:09
Luke Charlton
have a
00:13:19
officialgspn
James, Hutton-Adoy has been with you for a little bit of time now. ah How have you, what have you thought of Hutton-Adoy for Forrest? Do you think he, have you seen the inconsistency that maybe Chelsea fans thought he had or has he been maybe a bit of a star player for you?
00:13:29
Luke Charlton
Thank you.
00:13:33
James Rigby
um I'll be honest when he came, I thought he was going to be another Lingard. Lots of promise and just looking for a club, looking for a way back to you know one of the top top teams in the Premier League and that he wasn't gonna was't going to do much for us.
00:13:50
James Rigby
But yeah, he's been great, um scored on his debut, took a little bit longer after that and to get going again. and But I'm sure you know Chelsea fans will recognise
00:14:02
officialgspn
Hey, I'm sorry.
00:14:03
James Rigby
and the Hudson aoy hopefully and this this weekend that they wanted to see at Chelsea as he cuts in from the wing and puts one and in the in the far post and it's the great thing is he's that good at it that even though teams know that's what he's going to do for some reason they can't stop him so Great player, good consistency, um and great team player as well. He's been on the bench a couple of times in the last few games, tactically, and coming on late. and But we've we've seen nothing but good positive attitude from him ah over the socials. and Doesn't seem to have taken his bat and ball home with being benched.
00:14:54
officialgspn
yeah it's see the thing is i'm of the of the opinion that i i think we we probably should have sold him i think he was maybe a necessary sacrifice for so just for some of the players who were coming through when he was probably at the point to be sold um but we should have fetched a bigger fee for him a much bigger fee for a fee for him i think and not not that he should have shouldn't have gone to forest or something like that but i think it was only a couple years earlier you know buying was speaking about buying if he's you know buying him 50 million or we actually turned down a bid for him from buy and um
00:15:25
officialgspn
It's interesting, but the the performances I've seen him in, I think he's actually done quite well. And the one thing is, obviously, you know, we're talking about the combination of Chelsea's home form plus Forest's away form. Well, in fact, the Hudson and the Doi is probably coming to Stanford Bridge to prove a point which um Seems, when players come through that at Stanford Bridge, it just seems to work. and Luke, what what did you think about us um selling Hudson and Doi? Do you think as a player we should have kept and you tip him for a bit of revenge this Sunday?
00:15:55
Luke Charlton
It's an interesting one, because kind of given the state of the squad now, I feel that we could have done with him, been involved, having that option as an alternative for Sancho, because I think I've made my feelings on Mudrick quite clear in podcasts we've done um on our on our channel. so um but But ultimately, yeah I think for his career and I think for his progression, he had a couple of lone spells that didn't quite work out in the same way that we hoped. I mean, the Leverkusen move, I thought would have been quite a big one for him, but it didn't quite He didn't quite hit the ground in the way that I think we'd would have hoped. But yeah, he's clearly matured massively at Forest. And I think this is you touched on James as well. It's not even that he's starting week in week out, but he knows how important he is for the squad and how valued he is there, I think now. So he's happy to be on the bench because he knows, right. The gaffers, if we need 20 minutes to go, the gaffers going to bring me on and I could have an impact here. I could, I could be involved because he believes in my ability and what I can bring to the team.
00:16:52
Luke Charlton
And i don't I don't think he ever would have got that at Chelsea, um not to say that he doesn't deserve it, but but looking quite interested, I suppose, to maybe the transition of Palmer from City to Chelsea. It's just someone that needed to put play and needed to be believed in. um He'd shown flashes for us and he was clearly talented. And again, the homegrown talent that comes through from Cobham, we always want to keep hold of. But I understand from a business point why we sold him. And I also think for his career development, he needed to move on.
00:17:16
Luke Charlton
And I think, yeah, it's exciting now to see how he does. um And ah yeah, i could see I could see him have been impactful at the bridge for sure in the game. um But I also think um it will be it'll be a test for him probably as well, because he's going to have to do a little bit more of the defensive work, which again, I know i know he's capable of, but it'll be really interesting battle to see kind of how the wing play for both teams um develops throughout the game.
00:17:41
James Rigby
Can I ask, ah how would how would you feel with the game 70 minutes gone?
00:17:41
officialgspn
Yeah, 100%.
00:17:50
James Rigby
Everyone a little bit tired and then Hudson and Doi coming on at that point. If it was a tight game um and it had been a ah brutal battle, because this this seems to be the the way of kind of holding teams off at arm's length, especially big teams, um and then bringing on really fast players when everyone's a bit tired. and So Hudson aoy against and you know, your your team is 70 minutes already in my legs.
00:18:24
Luke Charlton
i think I think it really depends who's playing in that kind of right back spot for us. If we've got Gusto playing, i'm I'm fairly confident that he's going to be able to last the 90 minutes. But if it's someone like Dassasi or Fafana filling in a position they're not as naturally adept at, um I think it could be a real problem because Hudson O'Doy, the quality he has obviously, he's got excellent pace, but it's the dribbling and it's the way he can dribble with his head head up. He can, as you say, he cuts on his right, on the right-hand side. but Everyone knows what he's going to try and do. It's just how do you stop it? And I think someone like a Dassasi playing in that position is going to be prone to switching off and potentially allowing him to cut inside.
00:18:58
Luke Charlton
um So it's it's a really interesting one, and I could see particularly at that point in the in the game, depending on who we've got in that position, Maresco has done it a couple of times this season where he's put Quesada in it right back, and I think that may be a move that he goes to do to kind of counteract any particular kind of changes on the wing for Forrest.
00:19:17
officialgspn
Yeah, I think that's the one thing about our system, which is interesting, is it is it does and does allow for good tactical flexibility in the game. And I think one thing specifically that's happened with um players who are giving us specific issues on either wing or through the middle is we've been able to double up quite easily with players. So like Luke was just saying, we will have Gusto if he does play it right back. um And then Casino either will either come into right back or double up there as well.
00:19:43
officialgspn
Plus, he's got the wing. Our wing is working quite hard as well. So you've got to think if Hudson Adore is giving us quite an issue, I think they'd probably be instructed quite well for you know all three of the players on that flank to um come in and give it a bit of pressure. But obviously that then leads to other place so other space for other players. um And Forrest, not short on talented players through the middle either. and We'll discuss a bit more about those talented players for throughout the middle and of course our predicted lineups and score lines after this quick break.

and we are back on the daily chelsea slash daily forest podcast it's crossover thursday it is chelsea versus forest this sunday at 2 pm and now after we have discussed our relevant seasons we'll come to predicted lineups and score lines which is always The hardest part to predict, um especially with, as we've discussed, the form of both teams recently. Stuart, we'll go to you first. and you know there's there's obviously there's There's quite a few ah interesting points about this game that we've discussed whats in the Doi. Obviously, Olorina is also making a return to Chelsea.
00:21:37
officialgspn
um and And there's some really talented players in that forest team. I think, you know, one of the interesting signings that's happened to me was Walper House. Like, I didn't, I thought it was quite weird that West Ham had let him go. I suppose it didn't really fit into Loba Tige's sort of play style, but that that's just the quality player to have, especially I think with Yates. I'm wondering if they've been maybe quite a good midfield combination. I would have thought so.
00:21:59
officialgspn
and Do you see many changes from your team that started at Fulham and do you see yourselves beating us out of the bridge on Sunday?
00:22:09
Stuart
Yes, an interesting one with Ward Prowse. We seem to be or alternating each week our views on him. um I mean, Wes Tammer, one of the teams we are are wanting wanting to...
00:22:22
Stuart
finish roughly around the same sort of the table of. um So it's one sort of like if he's not good enough for West Ham, we don't see ourselves as being too much of a of a step down from West Ham. So it seems a bit of a strange one, maybe they needed to get him off of the wage bill or he just really wasn't in and love with Tagway's plans. You're right, he did play him and Yates were in the midfield too for the win against Liverpool, which is the high point of our season. So I do probably think they will come in or may maintain their places together alongside Eddie Anderson in a midfield. um So be I think it willll be will will be the the backfire that we spoke about earlier, um which will be Nuno's
00:23:05
Stuart
I'm going to say second time maximum playing at Forest. So just to run through the whole team and maybe point out some names that you guys on the Chelsea Pod will know about. So it'll be Matt Sales in goal, who we got from your partner club Strasbourg in January. So I think you've sent one of your youngsters on loan to replace him there. The back three, so it's going to Marillo, who's our a star player, will be part of the back three. see Is his talent sort of filtered down to you guys? He's always linked with the big clubs each week. Is that just ah his agent drumming up the the notes? Or is that someone you guys are really looking at and thinking, wow, he can make a good addition to our defensive options?
00:23:46
officialgspn
i think I think he's probably one we are definitely looking at just just because I mean it's I think obviously papers quite easily link a player with just a similar sort of profile that Chelsea would be looking at like sort of ball playing defender also quite good at defending um and Premier League experience so I can see why we we make the links there but from what I've seen from Rillo he's he's very good at just sort of being a stopper you know I mean like he I can see that defenders around him have the confidence in him to sort of and know he's sort of got that bit of quality about him because he gives confidence to the players around him. It's something that Coldwell gives us at times at Chelsea, um which is which is quite good for a young player. But yeah, I can completely understand those links. or What about you Luke?
00:24:30
officialgspn
like
00:24:32
Luke Charlton
Yeah, I think I do remember actually in the transfer window that there was, it was quite late on. And again, a lot of journalists at that point sort of clutching at straws for some exciting, exciting moves. But there was talk, I think, if we could have offloaded Dassasi and Baddi Ashile, we may have it in for Murillo, because as you said, that profile of young defender, confident, he's he's kind of taken to the Premier League very comfortably. um I think a big compliment I can give to him from what I've watched him, he feels like he has a stature and a kind of confidence beyond his years. He definitely plays like,
00:25:01
Luke Charlton
Not again, to emulate the career of say Tiago Silva, but he has that ability of thinking, okay, if this if this guy can stay fit, I think every year he plays, he'll just get better and better at defending. And we'll get to the point where he's experienced, we'll give him the ability to just kind of dictate every sort of situation he's in. um He seems really switched on with what he's doing. um And yeah, I mean, again, as you said, that we are linked sort of with every kind of under 25 footballer that seems to be any decent with a ball at their feet. um So I'm not surprised that that a player of that sort of that sort of stature is is been we have kind of been been linked with. um But no, he he's he's certainly someone that that's caught my eye when when I've watched Forrest in the past for sure.
00:25:41
Stuart
It's definitely interesting to know then that um he is, I think it it was one of his early games on match of the day. um They did a mock, not goal of the month competition, showing his efforts from and inside his own own half that went went narrowly wide. So I think I think the only time I've seen him mentioned in in the national news, but it's good to hear he is.

gaining a reputation. So yeah, I'd go for him here as part of the back three. Ola Eina is left wing back with Yates Ward Prowse. Sorry, Eina in right, Yates Ward Prowse. Now it's Moreno, and then at a narrow front three of Anderson. Anything that's involved in Gibbs-White and Chris Wood at front, and as James has discussed, come first in the doorway, and Ante and Lange as well, ready to make those impacts on the bench when we need them.
00:26:24
officialgspn
And what about you James, do you do you see a similar line up to that um coming up coming to the ridge?
00:26:31
James Rigby
you go for five two three uh... stuart is that five five at the back you're going okay uh...
00:26:36
Stuart
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:26:40
James Rigby
i don't think you will i think you'll go for as usual for the back we rely on the length of it i know and marina and then uh...
00:26:53
James Rigby
i think ward proust anderson uh... and possibly e8s just behind them um and then the the front threat the front three um I think he'll he'll start from the beginning with Elanga on the right, Hudson or Doi on the left and Wood in the middle and because I don't think anyone will expect us to start quick um and I think Nuno is just going with
00:27:26
James Rigby
I don't know what he's going with, but I think that's the point at the minute. You know, last game, who knew? Who knew we were going to manage that against Liverpool? I think everyone's going to expect us to park the bus. So why not? Why not not park the bus? It's almost a free hit, isn't it? No one expects us to beat Palmer United. So, sorry.
00:27:50
officialgspn
Yeah, it's yeah, yeah i suppose yeah What did you say James sorry for your cop
00:27:52
James Rigby
course of it
00:27:59
James Rigby
cross over thursday is what it's all about um but i i just want to say right right so
00:28:03
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:28:04
Stuart
ah
00:28:04
officialgspn
it yeah
00:28:08
James Rigby
for anyone that's thinking he's his big head at the top. I'm in a hotel room at the minute because I'm away for work. And today I was driving through Salisbury, some backwater, and I came around the corner. I swear to God, I saw Michael Oliver jogging, aye almost crashed a car. He was jogging up the street towards me, and I've just realized he was wearing blue, all blue.
00:28:37
James Rigby
I don't know if it was Man City Blue. I know there's rumors about him being Man City's Inside Man, but he was wearing him blue, which now seems like a bit of a bad element. and
00:28:48
officialgspn
from the from the experiences i've had of that man at the bridge i can 100 guarantee you there is absolutely no worry for a singular forest fan this sunday about the referee's prejudice towards well towards us at the very least i'd say um
00:28:58
James Rigby
Yeah.
00:29:04
James Rigby
I don't know, there might there might be a heartbeat after the game if you don't go well. We've got form.
00:29:11
Stuart
I think that that just shows our general lack of trust in PGMOL, that where we're sitting we're seeing random men running through souls. Our mind is instantly going towards refereeing conspiracies. We're having ah that better time with it.
00:29:25
James Rigby
You know, I was that convinced. I started trying to Google, where does Michael Oliver live?
00:29:28
Luke Charlton
ah quick
00:29:34
James Rigby
But yeah.
00:29:35
officialgspn
I think it's, I think it's Fulham, somewhere in Fulham, maybe perfectly, I'm not sure.
00:29:38
James Rigby
Are you kidding me?
00:29:39
officialgspn
and no and and Luke, we, we've had pretty much a similar team throughout the season. um Obviously we were graced by the return of Milo Gusto last week, ah made a massive impact, just not having to have a sense back, but laying right back. Do you predict many changes from our lineup against Brighton?
00:30:03
Luke Charlton
No, I mean, i'd I'd still be intrigued to see if Gusto comes in from the start. um I think he will, but but it but but I think before we had ah in some of the recent fixtures, I mean, Fafana has deputised there quite well in the right-back position, and Adirabai has been quite capable coming in as a partner for Coldwell. I mean, Coldwell and Kukarela are definitely going to start. I think there's no doubt in that. i mean Sanchez is going to be our goalkeeper as well. For for but better off or for worse, he's still Every time I want to give him praise, he seems to do something that lets him down a little bit, so it's a little difficult at the moment for with our goalkeeping situation, but I don't think it's um a huge, huge issue. But we could see, it could be if if he's beaten quite easily, he's ah yeah from from ah from an ah from an out out out the yeah out the area shot from Hudson or Doyle, I'm going to be definitely raising some raising some eyebrows. um But yeah, with with the midfield and the attack, I think it pretty much picks itself at the moment.
00:31:00
Luke Charlton
um It's going to be a case of I think Enzo and Kaisei don't pivot with Palma, Madweki, Jackson and Sancho up front. And I think for right now, I don't see why you change it. I really don't. um theyre they're They're playing kind of but pretty effortlessly. I think Madweki is feeling maybe a little bit left out. It's not coming as easy to him now since the since the Wolves game. And he could be potentially someone that I would see maybe changed out for Neto on the side, um particularly depending on who um Forest kind of do line up with on their wings. um It would be one where I could see that that where he may make some changes in those positions. But I think apart from that, I mean.
00:31:37
Luke Charlton
but we can't We cannot be in a position any more, particularly after the last couple of seasons we've had, where we are worrying about the opposition in the same way that maybe we should. We need to go out there and put our impact on the game. If it comes off, it comes off, which we hope it should. But we don't want to be trying to fix it all to ourselves to fit the the opposition, whoever it may be. We need to be out there trying to put our game plan in, and Mariska let his tactics do the talking, him really.
00:32:02
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, completely agree with you there, Luke. and And I agree with you mostly about the lineup as well. I think i think the only change we will make, um i've probably I think I do see Madawake being dropped. I think, you know, in our team at the moment, if you're not if you've not got an attacking output, then I think you are at risk of being you know swapped out for another attacker. I do see Neto starting there, um just to freshen up the lineup a little bit. um Otherwise, yeah, the same, you know, sort of back for Augusto, for Final Call Will.
00:32:31
officialgspn
and Kukarela plus casino and Enzo in front of them. I do predict Palmer will have not as much of an impactful game though, I think. um I think he had too good of a game last week to not come into this game being completely marked out of it. um which which Which, you know, he may be able to beat, I don't think that, you know, I don't doubt that he's got the talent to beat that, but I think um if anything, it'll be assists rather than goals for him. I think he's already going to be limited in front of goal.
00:33:00
officialgspn
um which is a smart thing to do because obviously you know he's a star player go on jade yeah
00:33:04
James Rigby
I said, by the end of the game, I think you're really going to hate Ryan Yates because he will get a yellow card. If you want to put any money on it, Ryan Yates will get a yellow card in this game. But I think he'll just ask with following Palmer around the pitch and just trying to elbow him every any chance he gets in a nice way. You know, I mean, you know, you're on the the the wreck with your mates playing football and you give him a ah rib.
00:33:32
James Rigby
And it's it's just that he does it with a smile the whole time. But after the game, you see on socials, other fans like, oh, dirty, dirty, whatever. How did he not get a red? That's where you're going to be after the game, whether you win or not. You will not like Ryan Yates.
00:33:50
officialgspn
Yeah, the sort of players sort of player. I wish we had to be honest. You need that. That's what the player is very important in a team. Just just like a bit of a, you know, uh, S S H I T house.
00:33:58
James Rigby
Oh.
00:34:00
Luke Charlton
i I also think i think it'd be very naive to look and think that
00:34:01
officialgspn
it
00:34:04
Luke Charlton
Forrest would go, oh, Brighton played a high line for 45 minutes and it was really, really, really good. So we're going to do the same. I think, I think we can't expect they're going to have that much space and that much time with just the long balls and overhead through balls. Like it was that even for us, I mean, watching the game, obviously it was a great game. Palm was excellent, but it was a bit of a car crash from Brighton in terms of their defensive side of setup. So.
00:34:28
Luke Charlton
I don't think Forest are going to do that at all. even if Even if that was their tactic, I think they would have re-chicked that for sure. Because it's just he's not going to work. It isn't going to work. and Especially when you don't you don't adapt as well within the game. And I think that was that was quite eye-opening actually for Brighton.
00:34:44
officialgspn
Yeah, 100%, 100%. Guys, we're running low on time, so we will move on to our score predictions. and James, we'll start with you. What is your score prediction with for Sunday, plus any goal scorers if you wish?
00:35:00
James Rigby
Following Michael Olivergate, I'm going to go for a draw.
00:35:04
officialgspn
yeah
00:35:07
James Rigby
I'm going to go 2-2, because Hudsonadoy is going to get a brace. And and I can see Maduache getting one. And Sancho, not seeing much of Sancho, so I feel like you know he's gonna he' going to do something.
00:35:25
officialgspn
Fair enough, yeah, I yeah i can 100% see that I'm hoping central does something. Stuart, what about you? What do you think is gory someday?
00:35:33
Stuart
Yeah, I'll raise raise James by one, and i'll say I'll say three-three. um So I think we can we we can get something. I think we've, as I said, we are just as good as as as Brighton, and you say they say they're completely naive tactics, almost undid themselves. We've got Yates, completely man-man-marking Parver. You said Madeweckes, or Form, haven't seen much from Netto yet either.
00:35:59
Stuart
Hudson-Adoy has got the point to prove, even Tyro Owani has got a point to prove as well. He came back into the team last week but was dropped at half time so if he plays at all it's going to be a fire for fire in him. So three-year-old Hudson-Adoy Brace and Owani for us and for you.
00:36:15
Stuart
Jackson, Lee by Colwell, but he won't celebrate, because Zafariks are his former club. He's got an own goal for us, fought us in the final whilst in line against Huddersfield, so he won't. He's a Zafariks-Forris boy.
00:36:26
Stuart
And then, yeah, a stupid penalty for Madden, I don't know if you have a penalty here, but it's part move, it's a score penalty.
00:36:30
officialgspn
Cut off. Yeah I think i I see a similar result but I think I do see a Chelsea win. I think I'm going to go for 2-1 Chelsea. um I think you'll start strongly, I think you'll score the first goal and but I'm hoping and we can just grow into the game and manage it quite well which is I think how but what we've done quite well in the in the past few games learning to manage the game and just I think it's gonna be what's going to be important Sunday is taking chances. i think I think everyone's going to get chances in front of a goal, but it's going to really matter who takes them. That's going to decide what brings the game. Luke, what about you? What is your scoreline picture on Sunday?
00:37:14
Luke Charlton
I'm kind of leaning towards your your prediction as well there with the bit 2-1. I look at it very similarly to the kind of maybe the Palace game. um where a point where i mean They started pretty rottenly at the start of the season. um But I think for us at home, when the expectation is there, we haven't quite risen to the occasion yet. but Obviously the Brighton result was a little bit of an anomaly in terms of because they literally played into our hands. I think this situation is going to be quite tight. I could see Forrest scoring first, but I think we could potentially push on and get it over the line now. So it would be 1-1 for quite a while, whether it be a penalty late on or something like that. I think there will be a chance that could fall our way and the momentum could swing for us and it could be a 2-1 win.
00:37:55
officialgspn
Yeah, hopefully. um Of course, as we mentioned quite a few times in this podcast, the form doesn't really suggest that for either team at the moment um or might might slightly, but it's going to be a contentious game on Sunday. A lot of talent on show and Chelsea looking to continue their momentum and Forrest looking to bounce back from that loss against Fulham after losing their unbeaten run this season. and and We are out of time on Crossover Thursday, but what a Crossover Thursday it's been. Yes, of course, Chelsea play for us at two o'clock on Sunday. um Stuart, it's been fantastic having you mate, great to meet you.
00:38:30
Stuart
and sales are all the best for for the rest of the season, starting Monday.
00:38:34
officialgspn
ah James, great to meet you as well mate.
00:38:38
James Rigby
Oh, thanks for having us lads. um Hopefully, you know, you seem like nice boys, but hopefully you're crying in your team Monday morning.
00:38:49
officialgspn
I hope we're not, but you know. and Luke, um it's been great to see you again as well mate.
00:38:55
Luke Charlton
Thank you thanks for having me. yeah It's lovely to meet you guys. It's ah it's been a great chat.
00:39:01
officialgspn
Yeah, fantastic stuff. Of course, everything discussed today about the fixture on Sunday, including tactics, dangerous players um and more. and Both teams will be back with a forecast Friday, of course, detailing a bit more about tactics and players before the fixtures is weekend. Otherwise, thank you so much for listening and we will see you soon.
