3 STEM Activities for the First Week of School

Think that you can’t do STEM in your classroom because you don’t have tons of expensive materials or fancy technology and equipment?  As a STEM lab teacher for the past 5 years, I can tell you the most used materials in my lab were tape, cardboard, and popsicle sticks!  While 3-D printers and robotics are cool and a great resource for learning 21st Century Skills, they aren’t the only tools needed to successfully complete STEM activities. 

Here are three STEM challenges you can easily complete in your classroom within the first week of school.  These fun challenges will not only introduce your students to some basic STEM concepts but also provide insight into the dynamics of your new group of students that could help shape your classroom throughout the year!
