officialgspn: Hello and welcome back to the Daily Newcastle United Podcast. am your host for today. So that is me, Nicola, who is hangry. Thanks to Kev.

officialgspn: Very hangry. Thanks to Kev. So this leads me nicely into who we are joined to by today. So first up, the one who makes me jealous on the daily with her meal uploads.

officialgspn: If you don't know, you need to get to know. She's our Amanda Stavely, Jacob Murphy club, loving queen.

Jo: oh

officialgspn: It's Jo. Hello.

Jo: Aww, thanks Nick. You've just become my favourite intro host person.

officialgspn: No problem.

Jo: Sorry Kev.

Kev: It's fine. I've just realized, Jaws had two nice introductions in my last like two episodes because she got one off me.

Jo: But I'm handsome because of you so.

Kev: I'm dreading mine off, Nick.

Jo: My head's like this now.

officialgspn: It's actually OK, and you've already heard him speak. It's our very own King Kev, because unfortunately Kevin Keegan wasn't available, so second best. was the next best thing that we had.

officialgspn: Hi Kev, how are you?

Kev: Hi.

officialgspn: Nice of you to join us.

Kev: I will happily take being second behind Kevin Keegan.

Jo: but

Kev: So that's your comment.

Jo: but

Kev: And I'm nice and full. I'm not hungry at all. Nice full belly. I've eaten. So yeah, really happy. Really happy.

officialgspn: Perfect, just for those that are listening, Kev is 40 minutes late after saying he'll be...

Kev: It's the first time I've been laid, by the way. First time I've ever been laid.

officialgspn: Okay, yeah, we'll we argue that one out later then, no problem.

Kev: And I have a great reason, but I'm just not going to share it yet.

Jo: Fair play.

officialgspn: Fair play. Yeah, no, we understand. Also, just for anyone thinking it's a little bit hostile between me and Kev, we're on a bit of a warpath at the moment because he kindly reminded everyone that Jo was on a 2 -0 winning streak on the quizzes and it's okay because she's only played Nick and then they kindly compared me yeah and they comineneded the kindly compared me to ah Gateshead.

Kev: yeah

Kev: No, no.

Jo: Oh, three nil. Sorry.

officialgspn: So that's brilliant.

Kev: Correct that. They, who who kindly compared you to Gated because it wasn't me.

officialgspn: Why are you getting so defensive?

Kev: Who compared you to gated?

officialgspn: Why are you getting so defensive?

Kev: Who compared you to gated?

Jo: I mean this could go on for half an hour.

officialgspn: Anyway.

Kev: That's my whole episode. My whole episode is just, who compared you to gated?

officialgspn: Right,

Kev: Why are you getting so defensive?

officialgspn: right so today we've got a little match preview, well, a little, we've got a match preview episode as we face Fulham on Saturday away. So to get things started, We're sitting quite nice right now.

officialgspn: We're sitting third place in the league. We're unbeaten, and you could probably argue that we are not even out of second gear yet. Kev, you OK?

Kev: It's really funny, you've really made it start at all.

officialgspn: You OK?

officialgspn: We are then facing a side who are currently 12th in the league and probably with a respectable start to the season with one loss, one win, and two draws. However, they are coming off the back of a midweek upset in the Carabell Cup against Preston North End, who knocked them out of the cup.

officialgspn: in what felt like the longest penalty shootout I have ever watched. Our recent record against Fulham is pretty good if you ask me. So in the last eight Premier League meetings between the two sides, so I've gone back to December 2018, Newcastle have won six and the rest, they the other two are draws. So as a side note, Eddie Howe's also been at Newcastle, he's never lost a fixture against Fulham in the Premier League and we won against him in the RFA Cup fixture last year.

officialgspn: So I thought we could start this part off even though we've just spent three minutes arguing with each other. How we feel last week after the Wolves game and how we feel going into ah Saturday's game against Fulham. So Jo, I'll come to you first.

Jo: I'm feeling quite good, I'll be honest, because I feel that this might be our game where we might just come out second gear. I mean, it might be sheer hope that it might be off game that we come out a second gear because it kind of has to happen at some point. But like you said, the records there, but I don't like to overly kind of fix on that, if you know what I mean, too much, because it's great that we've got the history and it would be great to get another win and just add to that history, if you know what I mean.

Jo: I don't know. I am feeling pretty positive. I don't think we're going to go down there and absolutely smash them off the park, so to speak, but I'm feeling quite good that we should get, I want to say, a comfortable win, but that's almost insulting for them as well, because it's not like they haven't got any danger men or anything.

Jo: They made some decent signings in the summer.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: Smith Row. I'd have Smith Row on our team.

officialgspn: yeah

Jo: I do think Anderson was a good buy for them as well in defence. in In a way, I think the Anderson deal and almost scuppered the chance of us getting Gagee, even though I don't think they want to sell Gagee to us anyway, by the way.

Jo: But I think the fact that they'd already sold Anderson obviously had a massive knock -on effect.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: They're not really going to want to sell the two biggest defenders. in one window naturally. i'm I'm expecting a win.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: I'm expecting a decent performance and I expect us to step up the gears. I need at least fourth or potentially fifth gear on this one.

Kev: yeah, I think to be honest, honest Joe speaking a lot of sense. So yeah, we have a great, we have a great record. Um, I was going to say it for a change, but I'm already pushing my luck today. So I'm just going to, just going to comment because Nicola is going to rip me head off.

Kev: and It's nice, actually, it's nice what the listeners now know why I'm scared of of Nicola, because they probably just heard it and thought, oh, Nicola's a darlin'. And now they're like, wow, she's really gone, forget it. Nah, anyway, about the following. Yeah, we do have a great record and our head to head is actually unbelievable against them. I didn't realise how good it was and until obviously we did a little bit of research for the show. I think the only thing which makes me ah ah a little bit worried, and I don't know from other Newcastle fans like this, is normally when it's a game you expect to play really well.

Kev: and maybe dominate and find quite easy, whatever ones you normally lose. If I had to make a prediction, which I know we are at the end, so I'm not going to ruin it, but I will probably would predict us to win. When you look at us on paper, but we're much stronger. and We're in a lot better form, like you guys have said, and we've said all week on the pod really is we haven't got out a second gear yet, but we're still picking up points.

Kev: Yeah, I'm with Joe. I'm feeling a positivity. I think this could be the one where we do start playing really well. Fulham under silver can kind of be one of the other, that can either be really high pressing and play a nice football, or we can just sit really deep and try and catch you on the counter.

Jo: Thank you.

Kev: and So I don't know which Fulham we're going to get. We have a couple of players I quite like. I like that Moon is. He hasn't started this season very well, but he finished last season fantastically well. and Smith Rowe again mentioned, and there's something about Adama Traore.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: I know his end product gets a lot of stick, but like he's still a dangerous player because he's so fast, so strong.

Jo: he's a beast isn't he

officialgspn: Yeah, he's an absolute.

Kev: Yeah, he's a beast. So we still have danger men, but I think we should have more than enough of them. So yeah, it's one of them weird ones where I'm confident, but I'm also sad here thinking these are the ones we normally lose.

Kev: So I hope I'm wrong.

officialgspn: Yeah, I was saying to my partner earlier that I felt really confident for our first game of the season against Southampton and we made that look terrible.

Jo: He's a beast, isn't he?

officialgspn: So I kind of agree with Kev there where the ones that I feel confident for always the ones where we seem to really, really struggle or just play really poorly.

officialgspn: I am in agreement with you both.

Jo: in.

officialgspn: I've kind of got a bit of a feeling that we're probably going to use this weekend to start showing what football we can play. and yeah come out of second gear and you know get that high intensity back but obviously it does come back to the point Kev that I think you made when we were on the other day like teams are now starting to work out how Newcastle play and you know Eddie Howe style of play so are we about to face a full inside that have worked us out a little bit but I'm feeling confident so I am hoping that that will

officialgspn: you know, show that on the pitch on Saturday. um I'm going to ask score predictions at the end of the pod, so I'm not going to ruin that one.

Jo: okay

officialgspn: I think we'll end part one there and we'll go into a advert read out by Joe.

Jo: Hmm Cool. First sponsor is Zencastr. Do you have a story to tell that the world needs to hear? Have you struggled with reaching new audiences who are engaged with your story? officialgspn: Lovely, thank you. You're becoming a queen at reading that. You're going to have it memorised shortly, aren't you?

Jo: off pattern

officialgspn: Yeah, yeah, literally.

Jo: hit

officialgspn: adam So part two, I thought we would touch, I know we've just previously touched on some film players in part one, but I thought we would look into more our side, how you guys think we will line up tomorrow on Saturday.

officialgspn: against Fulham and Fulham players to watch out for because we have just discussed briefly there where there is, they've got some good players on that side and they can catch it on the break if they want to. But I just want to kick it off by saying Callum Wilson is obviously, like Kev confirmed, that is still behind in his recovery rehabilitation and there's absolutely no sign of him making an appearance anytime soon.

officialgspn: So who knows what's going on with him. And when I read out the plan for this pod, there was no update on Isak as of yet. And obviously now we've got one where he has got a toe injury, I think it is. they're going to make a late decision on him on the day, pretty much. Now, Michael thought he'd got injured. and We all all say in the nose, he actually pointed out that he'd thought he got a leg injury and was moving a little bit funny towards the end of the Wolves game.

officialgspn: before he came off. So I would never have spotted that. So who do we think will replace Isak if he doesn't play? Do we think we will see Oshula come on? I've said before that I'd quite like to see him, but I don't think personally he will make, I don't think he will start. Or do we think we'll see Barnes brought on the left, Gordon pushed up top.

officialgspn: How do we think we're going to work that? Kev, I'll come to you first.

Kev: Uh, I think it'll definitely be, I mean, first off, I think this is classic Eddie, how he's done at loads and speed in Newcastle. They might not play. I mean, all of a sudden bang, bang, bang, but all of my team, I look fully fit.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: Like we've never missed the training session. So I think he's that will probably play.

Jo: Okay.

Kev: If he's like, doesn't play in his injured, I think it will definitely be going down the middle. It's a perfect excuse to get bonds and on the left. and you know what? Gordon is in favor down the middle, but I don't think.

Kev: He's a terrible option. him When he played there last season a couple of times and you're watching him live, he runs the channels so well, obviously, because he's a winger.

officialgspn: No.

Kev: And it's something again, I love Isaac and I do not want to come across like I'm criticizing him because he's literally our best striker. But he doesn't run with channels as well as we've mentioned it before with Wilson.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: Gordon runs the channel so well, runs in behind so well, stretches defenders, creates a lot of space in the middle of our pitch.

Jo: Mm

Kev: So I mean, somebody like Willick would be perfect to play with Gordon through the middle because Willick will just exploit that space deep from midfield.

officialgspn: ye Yeah.

Kev: So I don't mind Gordon through the middle. And as much as I would love to see Osula or Ashula, I'm not sure what we're right there. pronunciation is, but as much as I would love to see a Sula, I think the cup game after the following game is the perfect game.

Kev: I think chucking him in the deep end of a Premier League game, you could go one or two nil down, there's a lot of pressure on him if he then gets a chance.

officialgspn: yeah

Jo: hmm.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: He's still young, he's still raw, I think we play Gordon through the middle if Ezak can't play. But I think if you play Gordon through the middle, I'd love to see him include Willik from a start. Because when he does run a channel, he does exploit a wing, he does pull defenders out, Willik is just so good at arriving late in that box.

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: So yeah, I think it's a good excuse to get Barnes back on my left as well if I'm honest, because I think we both know he prefers Gordon on my left and Barnes on my left, but we're both in relatively okay form. Barnes is in fantastic form. So he's gonna have to get Barnes in some way. I think it's a good reason to do it now.

Jo: Yeah. Yeah, I mean yeah was very similar to be fair.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: I would like to say Jocelyn, just get some minutes maybe. Bring them on at the end. Hopefully, based on what we're talking about, we might be a couple up already. If we're not, he's not coming on, in my eyes.

Jo: like I don't think he would if we're not. If we are having a relatively comfortable game or anything at all. it would be nice to see him just get some minutes just because like kev said it is a bit like throwing him in at the deep end to start might be a bit much for him if we didn't have a cup game coming up after i might have made more of a push from the start just to give him something but we have got that cup game which i wholly vote he needs to start that but that's another conversation it really just backed up what kev said i suppose because gordon is naturally going to be the one down in the middle i know he prefers being on the left

officialgspn: Yeah.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: Definitely more so than on the right. However, ironically, I do love him on the right as well because he's very effective on both wings in my eyes.

Kev: Mm

Jo: The bonds is as well.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: they It's a funny one because they can both work on both wings, but they both prefer to be on the left because they both love to cut in, don't they?

officialgspn: The left.

Jo: and So that's something that he has to deal with. But at the same time, they as professional footballers need to kind of understand, you know what I mean? They're going to bounce about and do what's right for the team.

Jo: And I love the flexibility of our front, by the way. I love the fact that even EZEC as well, because EZEC can go out to the left as well.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: hmm.

Jo: So it's like,

Kev: I think EZAC would be unbelievable as a left -winger. If you sound like a big name striker long -term, EZAC as a left -winger would be unbelievable.

Jo: I know what you mean, but he wants to be in the middle always. So as much as Gordon likes to be out left, he's like likes to be in the middle. I've never seen him be as happy when he's out on the left as he is in the middle and then vice versa for Gordon sort of thing. So it's a tough one because we like him out there. We know what he can do out there.

Jo: But again, we've got all this flexibility at the front. I think it's fantastic, man. We haven't been in this sort of kind of predicament for so many, well, too many years, never meant so many years. But yeah, we'll look down, we'll look in the middle if Gordon is going to be up front, would be perfect.

Jo: Because he's back, he was on the bench, so surely he's ready to start. I mean, I have.

Kev: Well, well, it played 45 minutes, didn't he? In the last game, so...

officialgspn: yeah yeah i do i don't think like i said i can't pronounce his name oshula i don't know yeah we know what we know what we're talking about and sorry i i don't think he'd be chucked in the deep end

Jo: Well, yeah, i mean so Shirley is ready to start is what I mean, instead of just come off the bench again, you know what I mean?

Kev: Yeah.

Jo: So I'd like to see that to be fair. So I don't know. Do you agree there, Nick?

Jo: I'll see you there, yeah. not good

Kev: Sula.

Jo: i'll see that

Kev: Sorry, Will. Hi, Will. How was the gun?

officialgspn: to start on a Premier League game. But then again, I'm not on the sidelines watching the training session, so who knows? But I imagine if, you know, it gets to sort of maybe 75 minutes and we're hopefully 3 -0 up, he might then bring him on. For me, this must be a bit of a headache for Eddie. and I imagine a good headache of who to start, where to start them. wouldn't want that decision because you're going to upset someone no matter what you do, I suppose.

Jo: There's the headache he didn't have last year that he probably wished he had it because he moved a soul.

Kev: Later.

officialgspn: Yeah, exactly.

Jo: He had zero headaches in that form, but all the headaches of the injuries, it was a crazy one, really, wasn't it?

officialgspn: So many games.

officialgspn: 100%. But for me, as a non -negotiable, and it's not even the player that I asked you about, Barnes, he's got to start. I don't think, and I mean, I don't know what Eddie's thinking, obviously, but he surely will be thinking to start him because he,

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: is an unbelievable form. And with a team going into it, well, we're going into a game where we're playing Fulham, our record's pretty decent against them.

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: Surely, surely, surely, surely.

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: But don't know. So we'll just have to wait and see. And like Kev says, Eddie loves playing mind games, doesn't he? So he will say these players are injured.

Kev: He's like, he's like bonus though.

Jo: yeah There's nothing wrong with him, really.

officialgspn: Yeah, I'm going to see he's like, yeah.

Kev: He's bonus though. He did a low draft game like, oh, he's touching goal.

officialgspn: So

Kev: We'll see him in like, I remember when Jolynn came back or something and he played and he looked like sharp of an ever.

Jo: Every time.

Kev: I was like, yeah, he hasn't just been training for like two days.

officialgspn: um

Kev: So.

Jo: Don't say that. not say

officialgspn: They're not a bad side for them, are they? like you know Kev touched on like their style of play goes one way or the other. They'll either come out and completely attack, press high, et cetera, et cetera, or they will sit back. You just don't know which film you're going to get. Have you guys had a thought about sort of which players we think possibly might cause a bit of a problem?

Jo: My thoughts were, well Smith Row was an obvious one for me again because I really rate him as a player anyway.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: Raoul Jimenez, who obviously made the wonderful mess up the last time, he's the only one really scoring for them in terms of like the strikers because he's got, he's had two goals. Mind I say that if you look,

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: They really haven't scored many goals anyway. They've had a very slow start.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: They've won 2 -1. That was their biggest win. They've got a couple 1 -1 draws. They've had a loss where they didn't score at all. cup game is the cup game. That's the side thing at all. So really, it's not like they're really massive high scorers this season.

Jo: So it's really hard to kind of judge. And again, like what you just said there, they might have had this start and then all of a sudden come out a whole different team against us but then again what we said before we want us to become a whole other team it's about time we step up you know what I mean so it could be an interesting game both teams might step up and then you don't know you don't know what to predict at that point because like I say at the minute I'm not massively scared of most of their team however watch me say that and some of them absolutely obliterate us you know what I mean so I'm scared to almost say it in a way

officialgspn: Yeah. Yeah.

officialgspn: Oh,

Jo: The fact I've not seen anything mole can't take over before I complete the jinxes.

officialgspn: brilliant.

Kev: I think, I think it depends on what version of his players show up. Like Jimenez is, him and I love Jimenez at Wolves and I actually think he's a very good player, but... Normally when Jimenez starts against us, I'm not that worried, but when he comes off the bench, I always have that feeling of, oh, he's bound to score.

officialgspn: Mm hmm.

Kev: But then if the start moon is the other striker, he was in unbelievable form.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: That's it. And he had like a pappy CCA spell where he joined Fulham out of nowhere and just scored every game. and I think you got some of like eight goals and eight games or something at one point. So

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: He was on five as well, so I honestly think it just depends what Fulham show up. I'm hoping we get the Fulham where Muniz can't hit a barn door and him and him hasn't scored for three years, but it might not be that one.

Kev: And then you've got Traore again. he's egg Just Fulham are full of them players, aren't they?

Jo: It's tricky.

Kev: Traore can look unbelievable, or you can watch them and think, how on earth is he a Premier League footballer?

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: So we really haven't got a clue which one's going to show up.

Jo: Yeah.

Kev: I do like Smith row in terms of it'll be good to see him get regular game time. But I just haven't got a clue.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: I think i think the thing with Fulham, personally, is it's it's the defence in it. I know they've got Anderson now, but I mean, you've got Bassey, I'm not convinced by Antony Robinson is a good fullback, but then Kenny Tetley on their right.

Kev: Obviously, our left's our strongest side.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: I'm not con convinced by their right back. I'm not convinced convinceded by Pereira, their right centre midfielder. So I think we might get some luck down there, right, our left. But then you could argue offensively, their left is their strongest side, which is our weakest in terms of defensively. So Robinson and Iwobi. So I think it'll be really interesting based on kind of who attacks where, but yeah, we should win, but it's always in the back of my mind in games like this where I just think, oh, surely not, not for them.

officialgspn: I really can't wait till we're in a position to talk about how strong our right side is.

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: Because it is a bit of a problem, isn isn't it?

Kev: i just want to win I just want to win comfortably. I just really want to win comfortably.

officialgspn: Yeah, like a 4

Kev: And but ah can't believe I'm mentioning this now, right?

Jo: Yeah. Yeah.

Kev: But my partner reminded us because she was in the car when it happened. Before the Tottenham game, Harvey Barnes was filling up at a petrol station and I put the window down when my partner was coming back in after paying for the petrol.

officialgspn: Oh, no.

Kev: And I shouted, I'll get a goal against Spurs and he did. And she's she tells us every time, she's like, why haven't you mentioned that story yet? People are going to think you're lying. You haven't mentioned my story. I'm like,

Jo: Oh, well now you have.

Kev: I don't know. Now I have mentioned it and now I'm worried he's not going to score for like four months.

Jo: and

Kev: So he better score again against one.

officialgspn: Did he reply to you? What did he say?

Kev: He just put his thumbs up and walked into a petrol station. He had big Adidas joggers on. He had like a hoodie on.

Jo: Aww.

Kev: Loads of kids actually like asked him for a photograph. And to be fair to him, when he was filling up his car, he stopped filling up his car and got a photograph in the petrol station. Loads of kids.

officialgspn: Oh, what a lad.

Kev: So he had a huge Bentley, like massive Bentley, like a huge, it was an unbelievable call.

Jo: I'll do your word.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: But yeah, it was it was a story she's been bugging us to tell it and I finally told it and I really hope he doesn't go on like a month without it go

officialgspn: It's gonna give one the worst spell ever. Cheers, Kev. Yep, brilliant.

Jo: I know.

Kev: It's going to score a heart rate against Fulham, you watch.

officialgspn: Oh, yeah, come on. Right, we'll end part two there then. Thanks, guys. m And Kev, you've got the next advert, please.

officialgspn: Thank you very much. Lovely. Read beautifully.

Kev: Did you see how much it hurt to give a compliment?

officialgspn: adam Yeah.

Kev: He was like, well, I don't want to say anything nice about you.

officialgspn: Did.

Jo: Not tonight.

officialgspn: Right. No, not tonight.

Kev: Not any night.

officialgspn: You may come out to be a monster, but I'm actually, I'm really nice to you.

Kev: You're lovely.

officialgspn: Just.

Kev: I'm terrified of you.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Jo: With his face, man.

Kev: A great person.

officialgspn: Yeah.

officialgspn: All right.

Kev: Wonderful person.

Jo: Oh, damn it.

officialgspn: Right, part three. I thought I would take the turn of being the quiz master.

Kev: I actually think people are going to feel like me and they can't eat each other. We genuinely don't. Oh, funny.

Jo: I think we can tell.

officialgspn: Because it's only Nick. So I thought I would take my turn.

Kev: Oh, you a gun. Get over it, man. You're worse than Arsenal fans, yeah.

Jo: She's holding onto to that leg, she's holding onto to it.

officialgspn: Shut your face.

Kev: Worse than Arsenal fans should be mentioned that in a few years.

Jo: This time next year she'll be like, after it's only Nick.

officialgspn: Say Nick.

Kev: Worse than Arsenal fans.

officialgspn: Say your Nick.

Jo: And I'll still laugh.

Kev: Never going to let it go.

officialgspn: now I'm never gonna let it go now. So Kev, let's see if let's see if you can beat the quiz queen who is our very own Jo.

Kev: My ball was out.

Kev: Oh, this will be

officialgspn: So obviously this is going to be based on Newcastle and Fulham's history obviously, players and fixtures and then, I don't know, by the way just a disclaimer my husband has helped me write this so if there's anything wrong in there then we can blame him.

Kev: great.

Jo: Great.

officialgspn: And then we can end the pod

Kev: it great It's rolled out in the can.

officialgspn: It's all done for me. And then we'll end the the pod with quickly our score predictions for the game on Saturday. Good to go?

Jo: Good to go.

Kev: All good.

officialgspn: Good to go. Right. Question number one.

officialgspn: Who has the better record head -to -head, Newcastle or Fulham?

Jo: Like forever.

officialgspn: yeah we Yep, yep, yep.

Kev: but Why does that seem like a trick question?

Jo: and I don't know, like, are we talking forever?

officialgspn: No, no, wait as in like forever, as in from like when they first ever played football.

Jo: Well, I'm going to say us.

Kev: I'm going Newcastle. Yeah.

officialgspn: Yep. So that's a point each.

officialgspn: Good start.

Jo: yeah

officialgspn: The one, one.

Kev: Is that it or is there, a I don't know what's going on now.

Jo: good stuff second

officialgspn: but No, it's us. So that's one, one.

Kev: Yeah.

Jo: Just as gone.

officialgspn: Right.

Kev: Yeah.

officialgspn: so Yeah. Right. Good start. but Question two. Who has the most honours between the two, winning honours only?

Jo: I'm going to say Fulham.

Kev: I'm going to say Newcastle.

officialgspn: Kev, point to you.

Jo: I know nothing about Fulham's history, by the way.

officialgspn: Well done.

Kev: Up at two.

officialgspn: No, Fillham.

officialgspn: Fillham have five and Newcastle have seven.

Jo: but

Kev: My trophies overall.

officialgspn: I mean,

Jo: the

officialgspn: Yeah, overall, yeah. That, I mean, it's huge.

Jo: her mother she

officialgspn: We are so successful.

Kev: We've got more than seven trophies overall.

Jo: to

officialgspn: like so

Kev: six.

Jo: cup.

Kev: And then we've got at least two or three league titles.

Jo: Well, it's more than full, I'm sorry.

officialgspn: Well, more than film then.

Kev: More than four.

Jo: It's and sign That's all that matters, right?

Kev: Yeah, definitely more than four.

officialgspn: Yeah, okay.

Kev: Yeah.

officialgspn: Right, 2 -1 Kev. God, I'm not writing a quiz ever again.

Kev: Sorry Nick, sorry Nick.

officialgspn: Right, there's a bonus point in this one.

Kev: Oh.

officialgspn: Okay. On the 27th of May 2021, Newcastle beat Fulham at Craven Cottage, 2 -0. But who scored our goals on the day?

officialgspn: And there's a bonus point because if you... you... um I'm not even going to give it away actually. So there's two points up for grab if you can name the two players who scored. And then there's a mystery point if someone says something extra, but you won't know until I give the answer.

Jo: Let's see that date again.

officialgspn: 23rd of May, 2021.

Kev: I remember...

Jo: A day ground.

officialgspn: At the Craven Cottage, yeah.

Kev: I know one of them, so I feel like I should wait.

Jo: I'm in one of them. Well, no, I'll write it down.

officialgspn: you However you want.

Jo: How are we gonna do this? Are we just shouting them out? We might pick the opposites, you never know.

officialgspn: You never know.

Jo: Right, well, I'm just gonna say my man, Cher.

Kev: Yeah, it was a penalty, wasn't it?

Jo: That's if I remember right, that's why I said it.

Kev: I'm sure it was a penalty, because but that's why I remember it.

officialgspn: so So that is the mystery point, Kev.

Kev: Mm -hmm.

officialgspn: So Shah scored the penalty in the 88th minute. So.

Kev: Oh, I do know who scored you the goal.

officialgspn: Go.

Jo: Right I think I do as well. I'm gonna write it down just so...

officialgspn: How am I gonna score this one?

Jo: Hang on.

officialgspn: Because you got the score, Jo, but then Kev got the mystery point.

Jo: Bonus point.

Kev: Just give me all the points, Nick.

officialgspn: I'll give you one point, I'll give you one point.

Jo: Right, I've written down who I think the other one was. Care, go for it. And then I can at least show it if you don't believe me.

officialgspn: Go.

Kev: I'm pretty confident the other scorer was Joe Willick.

Kev: I'm just trying to keep you right on the score.

officialgspn: yeah, it is, yeah. So how are we scoring that one then? I'm gonna have to give two points to Kev and then, yeah.

Jo: It's all right. I think I should get shared though, because I said it first.

officialgspn: and a point to you. So that's like, what, four, three?

Jo: Yeah.

officialgspn: Four, three, is that? Yeah.

Jo: Whatever, Kev.

officialgspn: Oh, God's sake, Kev. Have a day off.

Jo: Just desperate to beat it.

Kev: Okay. Well, okay. It's, it's for free.

officialgspn: Have a day off. Right, there have been a total of 18 players that have played for both Newcastle and Fulham. Yeah, Kev, you're looking at me like I don't know what I'm talking about.

Kev: 18.

officialgspn: 18, one eight.

Jo: Wow.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: I was like, Jesus Christ.

officialgspn: No.

Jo: I mean, it eats a lot.

officialgspn: No.

Kev: Okay.

officialgspn: Still a lot though. I didn't realise that there was that many. So I'm going to give you guys around 30 to 60 seconds to write down or jot down or think as many plays you can think of.

Jo: Yeah.

Jo: Kev, I'm just going to hand this on to you. I've got no idea.

officialgspn: Whoever has the most correct plays at the end of the 60 seconds will take the point, but we'll put it to 30 seconds because 60 seconds is a bit long.

Jo: I'm

Kev: I can think.

officialgspn: So 18 players. I'm going to have to keep talking so there's not a massive silence.

Kev: I need someone to write on, but I'm not prepared.

Jo: ready.

Kev: I've got like, like, um got

officialgspn: Well, I gave you the brief nine hours ago.

Jo: Right, I think of a couple.

Kev: I reckon I can name about, I reckon I can name, I'm completely get, I only know 10.

Jo: have one

officialgspn: Okay, Joe.

Jo: You can name 10!

officialgspn: Wow.

Kev: I think so.

Jo: I'll just take the point.

officialgspn: Ten.

Jo: There you go now.

officialgspn: I'm going to touch you. Go on then.

Jo: Yeah, go on.

Kev: Louis Sahar, Scott Parker, Alexander Mitrovich, Kevin and Babu, Aaron Hughes,

officialgspn: Show off.

officialgspn: Yes.

Jo: I had that.

officialgspn: Yes.

Jo: I had that.

officialgspn: Yes.

Jo: I didn't have that.

officialgspn: Hang on. Yes.

Jo: I had that.

officialgspn: Hang on.

Kev: Damien Duff, Aunty Cole, Lee Clark, Dan Byrne.

officialgspn: Yep.

Jo: It is, yeah.

officialgspn: Yep.

Jo: I didn't have that.

officialgspn: Yep.

Jo: Yeah, I forgot about that. Oh, you win man.

officialgspn: Yeah. Yep.

Jo: Don't do that now.

Kev: And I'm not confident on this one.

Jo: And when it got full.

Kev: I think Wayne Routledge.

officialgspn: Yes!

Jo: Shark. That's a good one.

Kev: Shefki QT.

officialgspn: Come on. Yes, I'm glad you pronounced that because I could not.

Kev: Matt Target.

officialgspn: Yes.

Jo: and

Kev: Did I say Lee Clark?

officialgspn: You really said him, yep.

Kev: Yeah, I think I'm done.

Jo: That's fair play, man. I only had four.

officialgspn: That is good going, mate. I'm impressed.

Kev: Peter Beasley.

Jo: so

Kev: Did he play for Fulham?

officialgspn: Yes!

Jo: so Wow, dude.

officialgspn: That's 13. Come on.

Kev: Danny Guthrie.

officialgspn: Yes.

Jo: What?

Jo: Kevin, you can just have the whole, you can have the whole quiz and you said that.

Kev: Matt Target.

officialgspn: and just You've already said him.

Kev: I've always said Matt Target.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: Have I heard of the rest of them? I feel like the rest of them might be well before my time.

officialgspn: I don't know. Yeah. Alan Nielsen.

Kev: No, I don't know who that is.

officialgspn: I don't know him. m Paul Bracewell.

Kev: Oh, I've heard of them.

Jo: praise I'm a brace for all.

Kev: I didn't know you heard them before.

Jo: I'm old enough.

officialgspn: And then I don't know. And then Felipe Albert. I think that's how I pronounced his name.

Jo: Albert.

Kev: Albert.

officialgspn: Albert Albert.

officialgspn: Yeah, Albert.

Kev: yeah alber played for full

Jo: Felipe, Felipe. Everyone knows his name.

officialgspn: Glad you guys pronounced that right.

Kev: wow

officialgspn: And then that's it.

Kev: That wasn't far off.

Jo: Last minute.

officialgspn: Kehv, that is impressive, you know.

Kev: I have useless knowledge when it comes to Newcastle.

Jo: that's very impressive yeah fair play to you man i mean i said if you he was naming it halfway throughout his when the quiz is yours like seriously please take the win based on that he deserves it what was it just out of interest yeah

officialgspn: OK, no problem. So Jo, I'm really sorry, but Kehv's one.

Kev: Sorry.

officialgspn: Yeah.

Kev: Sorry.

officialgspn: There was a tiebreaker question, but you guys would have both got this one.

Kev: Ooh.

officialgspn: mean answer you eron Any fans should get this. On the 16th of December 2023, Newcastle beat Fulham at 3 -0 at St James's Park, with one player becoming one of the clubs.

Kev: Pressure.

officialgspn: With one player becoming the club's youngest Premier League goalscorer, who was the player?

Jo: but

Kev: That was mighty.

officialgspn: Really easy. Yeah, well done. Yeah.

Jo: and

officialgspn: I'm definitely not the quiz queen, but I thought that was a little bit of fun to end.

Jo: well That was cool.

Kev: That was good.

officialgspn: End the quiz on.

Jo: I like that.

officialgspn: Yeah, no problem.

Kev: I really enjoyed when you pass it in full on one.

Jo: And well done, Kev.

Kev: Like players who were playing, I didn't think of that. That's good.

officialgspn: I was about to say the whole quiz was based on Newcastle.

Kev: No, the one who paid for both.

Jo: known Wow.

officialgspn: Right. Okay. No problem.

Kev: Very good.

officialgspn: right. To quickly end then, shall we give our score predictions for the weekend?

Jo: but

officialgspn: I am going to go first. I'm going bold people. I'm going bold. Three now Newcastle.

Jo: Cool. I'm taking two now.

Kev: oh

Jo: I need to stick with what I thought earlier.

Kev: I'm going to go... 1 -0 in Newcastle.

Jo: Ooh.

officialgspn: More. So we'll put it to wins then.

Jo: Well, we know Ian's 3 -1 because he predicts 3 -1 every time.

Kev: Stressful.

Kev: Ian will be 3 -1.

Jo: I don't know what Ian is, so it'd be interesting to see what Ian thinks as well.

Kev: Michael.

officialgspn: Yeah. he

Jo: Not Ian Michael, man.

Kev: Yep.

Jo: Shoot, I've just done what Ian does and Michael does.

Kev: Yep.

Jo: Mixing all the names up.

Kev: Remember when we got your names mixed up? It's now happening with them.

Jo: There we go.

officialgspn: Sorry about that everyone. Right okay so thank you both for joining me today and obviously thank you everyone for listening. We will be back Monday hopefully reviewing a huge Newcastle win against Fulham and that's everything from us today so thank you.
