Speaker: This is Ramses the Damned, and I am with the ever-so-dying Verantis.
Speaker: Excuse me, it's Ramses the Great and just Verantis.
Speaker: Thank you very much.
Speaker: Oh no, I've been damned this month, man.
Speaker: You're telling me.
Speaker: First thing we're going to have to do is we're going to have to apologize for missing the last broadcast.
Speaker: Unfortunately, the real world came in and kicked my ass.
Speaker: And then it went down and kicked Francis' ass.
Speaker: And it's still been beating him up for the last couple weeks.
Speaker: Yeah, I was going to say, being sick has not been a fun time.
Speaker: And now my back's starting to hurt.
Speaker: So, yay!
Speaker: It's like one thing, you start feeling better, and the next thing you know, it just kicks you in the leg.
Speaker: So, yeah.
Speaker: But other than that, it's good.
Speaker: We're here.
Speaker: We're alive.
Speaker: We are live.
Speaker: Random stuff to talk about yet again.
Speaker: I do want to lead us off with a little, you know, please forgive us if our audio sound is off.
Speaker: We will try to fix it post, but at the same point, our machines are acting a little goofy tonight.
Speaker: We don't know why.
Speaker: Mostly, I think it's mine.
Speaker: I was going to say, it's your machine is acting goofy.
Speaker: My machine is acting just like it always acts.
Speaker: Mine is probably on its last leg.
Speaker: This thing is old.
Speaker: You're still on the old laptop, or did you get a new one finally?
Speaker: Oh, yeah, I did get the new one.
Speaker: I could try that next time.
Speaker: Oh, my God.
Speaker: You're over here using your old laptop.
Speaker: You said it's on your last leg.
Speaker: That's why you threw me off.
Speaker: You're using your old laptop, and you could be using your new one.
Speaker: My man, you have some things for it work out.
Speaker: But anyways, so I know there is one thing I mentioned that you wanted to know about, and that is the Ark data size.
Speaker: So for anybody who is an Ark fan out there, this is Ark Survival Evolved, the dinosaur survival game where you get to build bases and raid other people or play solo like I do because I only enjoy single player.
Speaker: Or where you get to raise a bunch of dodos to attack other people.
Speaker: Or that, which I actually have not tamed a Dodo in this playthrough yet.
Speaker: I need to tame one and name it after you, good sir.
Speaker: But anyways, anybody who has played Ark knows how ridiculously big the download size is.
Speaker: On Xbox, I believe the download, my download's up to like 194 gigabytes.
Speaker: On PC, I only have the base game on PC downloaded because I use it to run a server.
Speaker: It is 171 gigabytes, just the base game, no expansions or anything special, but they have to obviously have the, uh, all the snaps proven out.
Speaker: Oh my God.
Speaker: What is the word called?
Speaker: All of the, uh, assets downloaded.
Speaker: There you go.
Speaker: It's all the tech packs and stuff like that.
Speaker: Is that what, what I'm thinking of?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That makes sense.
Speaker: Assets in the tech packs.
Speaker: yeah so it has yeah all the all the assets and text texts i am still sure anyways um yes all the texture packs and assets are downloaded because it does have the free maps that have the expansions but still 171 gigabytes for just the base game technically here's the kicker on the switch you don't know how big it is take a guess take a wild guess
Speaker: I'm going to go 192 gigs.
Speaker: Not even close.
Speaker: Take another one.
Speaker: Am I shallow or am I low or high?
Speaker: Just take another one.
Speaker: 346.
Speaker: Going the wrong way, man.
Speaker: It is 7.5 gigabytes the entire game, and that includes the other maps as well.
Speaker: Now, granted, I don't have the expansions, but it's the same thing as my PC, whereas my PC is 171 gigabytes.
Speaker: And the Nintendo Switch is 7.5.
Speaker: And keep in mind that none of this is on the cloud because I'm playing it without internet.
Speaker: How does it run?
Speaker: That's the big thing.
Speaker: I mean, it runs pretty well.
Speaker: There's some tearing and stuff like that because, you know, obviously when you're on the handheld device, you know, it's limited to what, 30 FPS?
Speaker: I think so.
Speaker: But I haven't actually hooked it up to the dock to see because I have my dock disassembled right now.
Speaker: But I haven't hooked it up yet.
Speaker: Well, I say disassemble, but really it's just the power things pulled out of it.
Speaker: So that way I can lay down.
Speaker: No, it's the power is pulled out of it so I can lay down and play with power plugged in.
Speaker: I saw I saw basically what I end up doing, which is taking a taking the dock and taking it all apart and just destroying the thing just so we can put it back together.
Speaker: No, nothing that far.
Speaker: I just I took the power out so that way I can plug the power in closer to my bed and then I can just hook it directly to it and play it while it charges, which isn't great.
Speaker: But it gets the job done.
Speaker: You shouldn't do it.
Speaker: You definitely should not play it like that while it's charging because it loosens the connections and stuff like that.
Speaker: But it works.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But yeah, it's only 7.5 gigabytes.
Speaker: And I think that just goes to show
Speaker: how the difference between a good company and a bad company operates.
Speaker: Now, is that, is that, is that no, no, no, no.
Speaker: There's no way that you're saying wild aces is a good company.
Speaker: No, no, no, wild card for one thing, but no, that's what I mean though, is the difference is wild card doesn't care.
Speaker: And they're pawning off all of the optimization onto our hard drives.
Speaker: The game doesn't have to be 171 gigabytes if the Nintendo Switch people, because it got taken over by a new developer, what, about like seven, eight months ago now?
Speaker: That took it.
Speaker: Yeah, remember when I was telling you that the second edition or the newer version of Ark was coming to the Switch from, and it was supposed to be like just
Speaker: It was supposed to actually be able to run, whereas originally it wasn't able to run for the first two, three years of it being on the Switch.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So I found out last week that the reason for that version coming to the Switch was it got taken by a new developer.
Speaker: So it's still Wildcard, but the Nintendo Switch is headed up by a different company entirely that's optimizing it for the Switch, which is why it's actually able to run now, because Wildcard would not want to optimize it
Speaker: And this company knew how to optimize it.
Speaker: And apparently this company had problems with a game in the past, but they learned from their mistake.
Speaker: And now they're actually pretty good at it.
Speaker: Because like I said, it runs pretty well.
Speaker: I am actually loading in foliage.
Speaker: And I mean, you know how like in-depth arc foliage and graphics can be.
Speaker: And it's like, you know, it's not the prettiest game in the world.
Speaker: But it's pretty much like playing it on the lowest settings on PC.
Speaker: at 30 fps with a little bit of tearing well i know like a handheld mode so i i need to test it actually in the dock but i know that rgt85 was saying something about that he was saying how it was uh he was just surprised it was running at all so yeah and that's what i mean because it's such a massive game and it's like you know on xbox it's laggy or it used to be i don't know how it is now i haven't played it on the xbox in a few years but it's like
Speaker: It was laggy.
Speaker: It froze.
Speaker: It crashed.
Speaker: I haven't had a single crash.
Speaker: It's actually more functional on the Switch than it was on the Xbox.
Speaker: I'm surprised.
Speaker: Like I said, graphics-wise, it's definitely the bottom of the barrel when it comes to graphics, but it's there.
Speaker: Are you able to play it online?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, there's servers for it.
Speaker: Now, it's not cross servers.
Speaker: So, like, that's with all Arc.
Speaker: So, it's like, if you have the Xbox version of Arc, you can only play on Xbox servers or the Xbox PC servers.
Speaker: If you have it on Steam, you can only play on the Steam servers.
Speaker: If you have it on Switch, you can only play on the Switch servers.
Speaker: Are you able to do mods where, like, you can make your chick naked or not?
Speaker: On the Switch?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: I mean, maybe you can mod the Switch.
Speaker: I mean, yeah, you can do it on PC.
Speaker: But I don't know exactly how intensive the modding community is for ARK on the PC.
Speaker: I do know typically there are some rather ridiculous mod sets where people have created ultimate survival challenges where it's like you run around and everything will one-shot you.
Speaker: And it's not like, oh, it touches you and it one-shots you.
Speaker: No, it shoots a nuclear fire blast in your direction, and anything around you is dead.
Speaker: So you could really make that a fantasy-based game?
Speaker: That'd be cool.
Speaker: Based on dinosaurs, yeah.
Speaker: But dinosaurs aren't that far from our ideas of dragons.
Speaker: No, that they're not.
Speaker: And it does have wyverns and stuff like that.
Speaker: You could turn a dodo into a goblin.
Speaker: Well, so actually it's funny during events, there might be one right now.
Speaker: They have the Dodo Rex, which is effectively a T-Rex sized Dodo.
Speaker: Nice.
Speaker: Yeah, it's something that'll randomly spawn in the wild during events.
Speaker: And it's one of the strongest things in the game.
Speaker: It's stronger than the bosses.
Speaker: Can you breed it?
Speaker: No, you can't tame it.
Speaker: You cannot tame it.
Speaker: You can't capture it.
Speaker: It's literally just there to kill things.
Speaker: can i send an army of dodos can i send an army of dodos to ruin its day i mean by ruin its day do you mean he has to work for five seconds to kill them all yeah sure i'm pretty sure it has like a fire blast also like like a fireball yeah
Speaker: That's fucking cool.
Speaker: Yeah, dude.
Speaker: I will give this to Wildcard.
Speaker: Their events and their event creatures are fun.
Speaker: Like I said, right now they have it's the Easter event, so they have certain dinosaurs that like the Dodo, they have the Dodo the Dodo rabbits where they're Dodos with bunny rabbit ears.
Speaker: They have O-Raptors with bunny ears.
Speaker: Like I said, I think this is the time when the Dodo Rex comes around.
Speaker: I've never personally seen one end game.
Speaker: I've only seen videos of them or spawned them and through commands, but that doesn't count.
Speaker: So I'm curious.
Speaker: I was going to say, I might have to pick this one up.
Speaker: I mean, don't you have it on Xbox?
Speaker: I have it on Xbox and I might go ahead and play it again.
Speaker: I just, I really haven't had an opportunity moving up here, getting situated, dealing with whatever, you know, the buildup for last week, whatever that was.
Speaker: All that's taken a lot of attention.
Speaker: And I will say now, you know, now that it's all done, I've got my new job lined up and everything's all set up for me.
Speaker: All I got to do now, I have a whole week or two.
Speaker: I'm not exactly certain when I start, if I start next week or the following week.
Speaker: But either way, I've got a week or two where I can chill out and play video games and read and do all that.
Speaker: And even then, when I get home in the evenings, I'll actually be able to play video games and whatnot.
Speaker: So that's all, you know, I'm kind of ramped up for it.
Speaker: Yeah, so if you ever do end up playing it on Xbox again, just let me know.
Speaker: I will totally play with you, even if I'm rubber banded to you.
Speaker: We don't have to host a server or anything like that.
Speaker: You can load up your single player game and have someone join you, and then they're just tethered to you.
Speaker: I will gladly just run around with you.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: I don't think you could actually stay on the same island.
Speaker: Well, I guess, yeah.
Speaker: I guess their islands are kind of huge, aren't they?
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: The islands are huge.
Speaker: The rubber banding, I mean,
Speaker: Like, you can't go more than, like, probably a thousand paces from each other.
Speaker: I mean, but still, I can run around with you.
Speaker: Just explore the world.
Speaker: Because that's one of the reasons why I always play it.
Speaker: Because I never actually finish exploring.
Speaker: I have played all the maps, but I've never finished any of them.
Speaker: I play them, I build my base, and then that's it.
Speaker: And then either my data gets lost because on PC I've had to do three fresh Windows installs, so I lose all my data on PC.
Speaker: Xbox, I just kind of gave up on because, like I said, it was extremely unstable.
Speaker: So let's hope that Switch goes differently.
Speaker: Yeah, really.
Speaker: Yeah, we'll definitely have to give that a shot.
Speaker: Maybe I can just pick it up on Switch.
Speaker: I mean, it's only, what, 30 bucks?
Speaker: um i believe so like i said i got the reason i bought it was because it was on sale a couple weeks ago for 10 bucks i think i think i think the base game just the base game is 20 um and now that's the base game and you can get the they're not the expansion dlc maps but they have free dlc maps that are non-story based
Speaker: That's another thing about it, actually.
Speaker: So the Nintendo Switch, I completely forgot about that aspect.
Speaker: So they actually added stuff to it, too.
Speaker: And nothing game-changing.
Speaker: But they have these collector's explorer's notes in the game.
Speaker: And it's just a pop-up.
Speaker: They pop up.
Speaker: And you have to read through them if you're interested in the lore.
Speaker: They added voice acting in the Nintendo Switch.
Speaker: So now when those pop up, they're being read by, quote-unquote, that character.
Speaker: which is a really, really nice addition.
Speaker: It's like you have Rockwell explaining to you his recipe for this particular mess or something like that.
Speaker: Or I can't remember the woman's name, but she'll explain like this dinosaur's habitat or something like that.
Speaker: And it's just it's a really nice addition that I can't believe it came to Nintendo Switch first.
Speaker: Well, it's funny.
Speaker: Is there 20 bucks?
Speaker: um for just the arc survival evolved and for uh and this is direct download that's the one thing direct download it's 20 bucks and for the that's obviously digital um and for the survivor edition digital it's 50. yeah and so the survivor edition is everything which I thought about getting it's not bad
Speaker: Yeah, but it wasn't on sale.
Speaker: So it was like only the base game was on sale.
Speaker: And it's like you can buy the base game.
Speaker: And if you buy the base game to upgrade to the survivor edition, it's only 30 bucks.
Speaker: So it's like you can buy the base game, test it out.
Speaker: And then I'm pretty sure I can go ahead and just upgrade to the survivor edition for an extra 30 bucks, which isn't that bad.
Speaker: It might be 40 bucks.
Speaker: But I know it was like you can upgrade and it costs pretty much the same thing if you just bought the Survivor Edition.
Speaker: Well, the cartridge is going to cost you $35.
Speaker: Yeah, but the cartridge is not, as far as I'm aware, the cartridge is not, it might be the updated version, but I'm not 100% sure how that would work.
Speaker: Because like I said, originally it came out and it was wildcard produced.
Speaker: Now it's a different company producing it.
Speaker: And I don't know if the different company... I know when the different company took over, they said anybody who had the original version automatically got upgraded for free.
Speaker: Okay, so it should upgrade it then.
Speaker: It should, but like I said, I don't know.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: I don't know if there was like a cutoff.
Speaker: It's like, you know, if you had it before we took over, then you get it for free or how that works.
Speaker: Yeah, that'd be kind of shitty, but I've seen it happen.
Speaker: So yeah, I mean, I'd assume that Nintendo just completely pulled the old game from everything because it's like the servers are all based off of the new company now and stuff like that.
Speaker: So it's like, I don't even know what you would connect to.
Speaker: There wouldn't be because the original wildcard produced Switch version.
Speaker: wildcard literally never cared about it they they released it and they didn't touch it once they didn't patch anything they didn't touch it that's why a different company had to come in and fix it for them wow uh i can make a whole comment about you know this being modern businesses and oh it is it touch no no it's 100 modern businesses it's it's it's shitty that don't care all they care about is money at the end of the day they don't care anything about the customer it's
Speaker: Are they buying our product?
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Perfect.
Speaker: We don't need to do anything.
Speaker: And that's shitty.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But that's because there's also no competition there.
Speaker: It's like, how many dinosaur survival games are there?
Speaker: I don't think you even need dinosaur survival.
Speaker: I mean, I would love to get Conan.
Speaker: True.
Speaker: I would love to see more.
Speaker: I would love to see more.
Speaker: Sandbox games, I guess.
Speaker: Because it's like, really, the sandbox games, you have Conan, you have Ark, you have
Speaker: You have, I guess The Forest would be considered a sandbox game.
Speaker: That one's a new one, right?
Speaker: Yes and no.
Speaker: So there's a one and two.
Speaker: The second one's the new one.
Speaker: So Sons of the Forest.
Speaker: The first one came out years ago now, like at least four or five years ago.
Speaker: This new one, it's not actually fully released yet.
Speaker: They released it in alpha.
Speaker: It's in pre-release.
Speaker: So it's not actually out officially yet, and it's still getting updated and stuff like that.
Speaker: they just let people buy it early and play what they've done so far i've heard a lot of people say that it was a well a couple of the people i see on youtube reviewing it said it was really good so yeah um it it definitely is it's it takes everything good and bad from the first game but it takes the bad out and makes it better
Speaker: Like they, they, they actually did a very good job with it.
Speaker: I haven't, I don't own it, but I played it for about an hour just to screw around.
Speaker: I played it, I played my buddy's version.
Speaker: So it's, it's definitely an improvement from the first game.
Speaker: It's buggy is it's pretty buggy from here.
Speaker: Like it's, like I said, it's pre-release.
Speaker: It's not the official game yet.
Speaker: And I think that's why people give it a hard time.
Speaker: Cause I know,
Speaker: I was seeing some people complain about it because people who, well, cause it's the hype train, you know, everyone's talking about this new game because we played the first forest.
Speaker: Now this one comes out and it becomes a hype train.
Speaker: A lot of people who never heard of the forest started with this one and they're like, why is this game so buggy?
Speaker: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker: It's like, it's because it's in pre-release.
Speaker: It's not a game.
Speaker: That's that whole entitled shit, you know?
Speaker: It's a brand new game.
Speaker: It's pre-alpha.
Speaker: I want it perfect.
Speaker: Well, you're not going to get it perfect.
Speaker: You know, it doesn't cater to my specific whims.
Speaker: Well, that's your problem.
Speaker: Yeah, exactly.
Speaker: And it's like, unfortunately, I've lived through a lot of alpha and beta releases of games like Minecraft.
Speaker: I played Minecraft and alpha.
Speaker: Like that thing.
Speaker: Dude, Minecraft alpha was amazing.
Speaker: I don't care what anybody says.
Speaker: It was, it had absolutely nothing to do.
Speaker: There was nothing to do in that game except mine.
Speaker: And it was amazing.
Speaker: All I did was mine.
Speaker: build my little sand castle and mine.
Speaker: I played, yeah, I played one or two, not too many.
Speaker: We get other games that give alpha release and beta release bad raps, like, what is it called?
Speaker: It's called the aisle, I think, which, sorry about all the squeaking.
Speaker: Conceptually, the aisle is an amazing game concept.
Speaker: So what the aisle is, is that
Speaker: It is a dinosaur survival game, but you're the dinosaur.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So you pick your dinosaur that you want to start out as.
Speaker: So it's like, I think you start, you can have like, I think you start with the ability to be maybe a, I don't think it's Velociraptor.
Speaker: It's some kind of carnivore that's small.
Speaker: And then I think you can get a couple of herbivores to choose from.
Speaker: And it's like you actually go through growth stages.
Speaker: So it's like you start out as a baby, whatever you are, and you grow up to become the big whatever you're supposed to be.
Speaker: If it's, you know, Dilophosaurus, Velociraptor, T-Rex, Brontosaurus, like any of those.
Speaker: Now, that being said, conceptually, it's an amazing game.
Speaker: But the developer decided to just take all the money he was making, milk the community, because it was a crowdfunded game.
Speaker: And he just milked the community and milked the community.
Speaker: And it's one of those games that will never actually see a release properly.
Speaker: And it's sad.
Speaker: Because conceptually, it is a unique and awesome game.
Speaker: Well, they just had an update two weeks ago.
Speaker: It's not that he's not updating it.
Speaker: It's that he's not listening to the community at all.
Speaker: And what the game is now, it's not what it should have been.
Speaker: Because he started adding...
Speaker: creatures that didn't that don't exist like as if they were experimented on like there's something bigger than a t-rex that mouth opens three ways not just up and down like it opens up to the top and then his bottom mouth splits like a shrieker from triggers and it should have gotten a full release years ago but he i don't know there's it
Speaker: I know a lot of the community complains that he milks it.
Speaker: Like, obviously you just looked it up on steam and if you read through the reviews, you'll see a lot of people are saying the same things.
Speaker: Well, it's got an 83%.
Speaker: Yeah, but a lot.
Speaker: Let's see.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Maybe it changed since the last time I looked at it.
Speaker: So can sex dinosaurs.
Speaker: Uh-huh.
Speaker: Of course, that's the first comment that you see that catches your eye.
Speaker: I finally decided to leave a review.
Speaker: It's been seven years.
Speaker: There you go.
Speaker: It feels like it's gone backwards.
Speaker: And that's why they say it should have been fully released years ago.
Speaker: Like at least three years ago, it should have been a done completed game.
Speaker: And it's like he's completely slowed down on the progress.
Speaker: He he he's just he stopped caring.
Speaker: He was a community and going for it because I'm pretty sure he's he's like has a Patreon or something like that.
Speaker: A lot of the recent reviews are not great, I'm assuming.
Speaker: No, actually, a lot of them are, but they're all stupid.
Speaker: Don't bro.
Speaker: Be a dino, brah.
Speaker: Live the dino.
Speaker: Feel the dino.
Speaker: Taste the dino.
Speaker: Like I said, conceptually, it's an amazing game.
Speaker: And it is fun gameplay, but it's just one of those games that will never be complete.
Speaker: And it's annoying.
Speaker: Like I said, it's been in alpha or beta for the last six, seven years now.
Speaker: Yeah, this guy says, do not buy this game.
Speaker: It is a scam.
Speaker: They promise what they will never be able to deliver.
Speaker: This is a long warning, but a warning nonetheless.
Speaker: Save it for a finished game in eight years.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: There you go.
Speaker: Well, that sucks.
Speaker: I mean, that would sound kind of cool.
Speaker: I'd be interested in that.
Speaker: Yeah, no, like I said, conceptually, it's an amazing game.
Speaker: But again, it's exactly the only thing in it, as far as my knowledge, is still just what I said, where it's like, you know,
Speaker: Okay, you grow up.
Speaker: And then that's about it.
Speaker: There's literally, there's not really anything to do.
Speaker: There's no story to uncover.
Speaker: And I'm not talking about like, I'm not wanting a traditional story in that.
Speaker: But like, even just story as in you find a base that was destroyed that leaves clues that are visual clues that you could understand.
Speaker: There's nothing in there.
Speaker: It's just
Speaker: You're a dinosaur, you're young, you grow, you're old, and you hope you don't see one of those mutated monstrosities that will annihilate you.
Speaker: Because people who play those are jerks.
Speaker: So, but yeah, no, I mean, like I said, all in all, it's just game developers are just not that great anymore, unfortunately.
Speaker: Well, I think that's partly on us.
Speaker: We're allowing them to not be great anymore.
Speaker: To be fair, it's not on me or you.
Speaker: Me or you are complaining any chance we get about a video game when it doesn't... Not so much meet expectations, it's when it falls short of minimum expectations.
Speaker: I... Yeah.
Speaker: Playability.
Speaker: I won't be able to play a game on day one and not have to wait for patches.
Speaker: Yeah, I will admit my standards have dropped.
Speaker: yeah okay let me rephrase that no they have not my tastes have dropped instead of dealing with this crap where i'm dealing with horrible you know standards i just go back to the old video games that i grew up with you know they were done right these are you know these new ones pretty much suck um i mean i'm playing and don't get me wrong old video games have their glitches yeah but some of them game breaking yeah and
Speaker: Almost every single old video game has some form of glitch that you can manipulate.
Speaker: But usually they're glitches that are hard to find and are not game-breaking.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: But some of them have game-breaking glitches, like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Death.
Speaker: I don't remember that, to be honest.
Speaker: I think I've read that one.
Speaker: The Lego Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets.
Speaker: You can talk about Mega Man.
Speaker: Mega Man had that game-breaking glitch where if you accidentally shot a certain thing after killing Wally the first time, it actually kills Wally, and you're not able to progress onto the second and third fight, and you're just stuck on that screen until you reset the game.
Speaker: What game was that one?
Speaker: I think it's the first Mega Man.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: Like, literally the very first Mega Man.
Speaker: I don't remember that part.
Speaker: Almost never found that one.
Speaker: Yeah, no, it's a weird glitch.
Speaker: It's literally you have to, like, after killing his first form, and then he goes to fly off.
Speaker: or I think it's after killing his second form.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: It's after killing his second form, he goes to fly off and then you continue the stage and you fight him again.
Speaker: Well, when, as he's going to fly off, if you shoot a certain attack, I can't remember which one it is.
Speaker: The one that flies up in the air.
Speaker: If you know, it's not the boomerang.
Speaker: I don't think the boomerang was in.
Speaker: Yeah, it was.
Speaker: It's flash flood or something like that.
Speaker: It's like a, it's, it's,
Speaker: remember what it is.
Speaker: But if you shoot it, it flies into the air and then as Wily's giving his speech and flying away, it literally kills him and breaks the game.
Speaker: But anyways, Chamber of Crap.
Speaker: What were you saying?
Speaker: Chamber of Death.
Speaker: On Lego Harry Potter, one of the levels... That explains why I didn't know what you were talking about because I never played the Harry Potter Lego games.
Speaker: Only Star Wars.
Speaker: Well, one of them, you fall into this hole and you couldn't get back out.
Speaker: I was like, this is the, you know, all it took was two seconds for somebody to test this out.
Speaker: And, oh man, that sucked.
Speaker: But I mean, yeah.
Speaker: It literally, a lot of the times it,
Speaker: it really comes down to a game breaking glitch where it's like, if somebody literally just sat here and played it one time, it would, you would realize it's, it's broken and it needs to be fixed.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: A lot of times.
Speaker: Now there are some glitches where they're game breaking and it's like, okay, the developer had no way of anticipating this would happen.
Speaker: Like with ESO, ESO, it was a game breaking glitch.
Speaker: I'm pretty sure day one where,
Speaker: Somehow the NPC got like locked on to somebody and then he flew away and nobody could interact with this NPC anymore until they had to effectively console command him back and fix it.
Speaker: What game was this?
Speaker: Elder Scrolls Online.
Speaker: It was unplayable the very first day because like some weird, like too many interactions at once with a single NPC and he got like locked on to somebody who was moving and it pulled him like up a mountain.
Speaker: Hey, it's Ramseys.
Speaker: I gotta apologize.
Speaker: Apparently my computer decided to log me out.
Speaker: So at this point, I'm gonna go ahead and make a request.
Speaker: Please, give us a like wherever you found us.
Speaker: Leave a comment or two.
Speaker: Tell us how crappy we are for losing connectivity.
Speaker: And then when you're done with that, come check us out.
Speaker: On Twitter, you can find me at RamGeekityGreek.
Speaker: And on Discord, we have our own channel.
Speaker: Right now, the login little code in is for Geekity Greek Show.
Speaker: Now, back to the regularly planned show.
Speaker: Enjoy.
Speaker: Yeah, sorry about that.
Speaker: Apparently, I got disconnected and we had to restart our... Everything!
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Everything's restarted.
Speaker: It's been a fun night so far.
Speaker: I was going to say it.
Speaker: We were having, we're having audio issues.
Speaker: We're having headset issues, microphone issues, issues.
Speaker: Now we're having the recording issues.
Speaker: It is a wonderful night.
Speaker: Y'all.
Speaker: Well, actually it goes back to the internet issues.
Speaker: It all might be stemming from the fact that there's nationwide internet outages right now with a lot of companies.
Speaker: If you're listening to this and wondering why internet has been spotty recently in your area, maybe you're part of that provider's internet coverage that's going haywire.
Speaker: So, just... So anyways, we had the ESO topic where the NPC was being hithered up a mountain and nobody could interact with him and not play the game because he was one of the starting NPCs.
Speaker: Yeah, so that'd be like the old guy, right?
Speaker: What old guy?
Speaker: John Cleese.
Speaker: Yeah, so who is John Cleese?
Speaker: Oh my god, you need to give up your geek status.
Speaker: Who's John Cleese?
Speaker: So you know me, I don't know names very well, but I know people, I know... I'm trying to think of characters that you would know him as.
Speaker: Look it up.
Speaker: You ever see... Oh, good god, no, that was stupid.
Speaker: Monty Python.
Speaker: I literally watched Monty Python with you.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So the old French guy on top of the castle, he said, I'd fart in your general direction.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: That is John Glees.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: That makes sense.
Speaker: So... I wouldn't really say that.
Speaker: I don't think Panther 2.
Speaker: Yeah, he definitely... I know who this is.
Speaker: I just don't know names.
Speaker: So...
Speaker: I don't think it would be him as the NPC flying away into the sky, mountain, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker: But anyways, back to the original topic of... Like I said, there's some things that game developers cannot anticipate.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: Like that.
Speaker: That's something where it's like, okay, you play through it.
Speaker: It's not broken.
Speaker: You can't anticipate having that kind of glitch.
Speaker: But having a kind of glitch where...
Speaker: you just can't play the game.
Speaker: Like, do you not test your games?
Speaker: Like, what was a recent one that had tons of problems at launch?
Speaker: What the heck was it called?
Speaker: The Steampunk one, the Cyberpunk.
Speaker: Oh, Cyberpunk 2020?
Speaker: Yeah, 2077.
Speaker: 2077, that was it, yeah.
Speaker: Like that one.
Speaker: Like, so many people weren't able to play it.
Speaker: on launch like weak because it was incompatible with everything.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And that's just, you know, that's just, there's no excuse for that shit.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: You know, you, you need to know who you're serving.
Speaker: And I understand that, you know, part of it is, is that they have a certain deadline that they have to rush everything out and whoever their parent company is usually dictates what's going on.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And then there's also, um, it's scope creep.
Speaker: That's a big thing that, you know, eats them alive.
Speaker: And I understand all that, but at the same point, if you're not able to, you know, take care of all this, then, you know, you need to step back and say something.
Speaker: And there's a point to where it's like,
Speaker: You know, first off, scope creep, that's just bad management.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: You know, because that's where, you know, oh, this looks cool.
Speaker: Let's add it to the game.
Speaker: This looks cool.
Speaker: Let's add that to the game.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: When you have a MVP, a minimum valuable product, that is what you are supposed to put out.
Speaker: Everything else can get put out and put in later.
Speaker: But what they've been trying to do, and I know one of my... Unfortunately, he hasn't been making games in years because of this very issue.
Speaker: The guy who made Fable, the guy who made Black and White, he made Fable, he made...
Speaker: They made a couple games like that.
Speaker: And he was a great game.
Speaker: He had great ideas.
Speaker: But he could not stop himself.
Speaker: It was always, let's add more, more, more, more.
Speaker: And in his case, he would actually promise this stuff and it wouldn't be able to make it.
Speaker: And it's like, this is ridiculous.
Speaker: That's a problem with a lot of game developers now is...
Speaker: they try to promise things that are quite literally impossible for them to actually be able to do.
Speaker: Like No Man's Sky.
Speaker: No Man's Sky is a prime example of that.
Speaker: Everything that they promised fell short, pretty much, because what they promised was an impossibility.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Now, granted, it's pretty much now, it's what they pretty much promised it would be.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: Because technology is there now.
Speaker: And it's also been something where they've been able to work on it for a long period of time.
Speaker: And I'm all for that.
Speaker: I love that idea.
Speaker: You know, if I'm going to buy, you know, if I'm going to buy DLC from you, I'd rather add a bunch of, a bunch of crap in there that, you know, sounds awesome and all that.
Speaker: Actually in addition to the game and not what should have been part of the game.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Or worse horse armor.
Speaker: Horse armor?
Speaker: Yeah, that was, I believe it was Oblivion.
Speaker: Elder Scrolls Oblivion.
Speaker: They sold you horse armor for $15.
Speaker: I'm pretty sure Skyrim did some stuff like that, too.
Speaker: Yeah, it was stupid.
Speaker: For like $5 apiece.
Speaker: Yeah, unfortunately, I will say Elder Scrolls and Fallout, they have some of the stupidest DLC.
Speaker: They have some great DLC.
Speaker: I was going to say, as much as I love Elder Scrolls,
Speaker: The Elder Scrolls as a whole, not Elder Scrolls Online, but Elder Scrolls as a whole, their DLCs, some of them are questionable.
Speaker: Now, their actual story-driven DLCs are amazing.
Speaker: Like, Irem's story-driven DLCs were amazing.
Speaker: Elder Scrolls Online DLCs were amazing.
Speaker: Yeah, I was going to say, some of the Fallout ones were excellent, too.
Speaker: I've only ever played base game Fallout.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, I love their DLC.
Speaker: I loved Far Harbor.
Speaker: My whole thing with Fallout is it's kind of one of those things where it's like Fallout is a game where I play through it once and I'm good.
Speaker: It's not a game I go back to.
Speaker: Obviously, I love going back to it.
Speaker: My biggest gripe about Fallout is I don't think, to be honest with you, I don't think Bethesda should have taken Fallout.
Speaker: What I think they should have done is taken the premise of Fallout, just like, you know, in all actuality, Fallout did this.
Speaker: Black or Assyrian did this in the first place.
Speaker: They took another game, made a spinoff of it.
Speaker: So they took Wasteland, made Fallout based off of that, and
Speaker: And then, you know, and I think that was great, but I think Bethesda should have taken a spinoff kind of, or, um, what do you call it?
Speaker: A, um, sister.
Speaker: Uh, like when it's, when it's like that game, but it's not exactly the same thing.
Speaker: Um, whatever.
Speaker: So they should have made a new kind of game like Fallout, except instead of doing all this, you know, I'm going to put points and crap.
Speaker: At that point, you know, you can start out with points.
Speaker: But after that, it's all based off of usage and actual like Skyrim.
Speaker: I thought Skyrim's mechanics in Fallout as something else would have been excellent.
Speaker: I also think Fallout 4 was not nearly as good as Fallout 3.
Speaker: It was missing some of the heart.
Speaker: Yeah, no.
Speaker: Fallout 4 was lackluster.
Speaker: They focused on the building too much.
Speaker: I think so.
Speaker: Yeah, and the building is fun.
Speaker: I love that aspect, actually.
Speaker: I really loved that aspect.
Speaker: And the whole raiding parties and stuff like that.
Speaker: There's a lot to Fallout 4 to love.
Speaker: There is.
Speaker: But you're right.
Speaker: It lacks... It just lacks something that really makes it special.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 were... They were top marks.
Speaker: And as far as I'm concerned, Fallout New Vegas is still the pinnacle of the system of the Bethesda games.
Speaker: And it was the same thing with Skyrim, actually.
Speaker: I think Skyrim was secondary to Oblivion, which... Actually, I'd even say it was secondary to Morrowind.
Speaker: And crap, not one of my favorite games there, man.
Speaker: Sorry.
Speaker: It's just the reality.
Speaker: Now that being said, I grew up playing Skyrim.
Speaker: Like Skyrim was the very first Elder Scrolls game I ever played.
Speaker: Well, the first one I played was Morrowind and it was great, but I loved Oblivion a lot more.
Speaker: I've never heard anybody say anything bad about Oblivion.
Speaker: At least back then.
Speaker: When it was the new game and no one ever had anything bad to say.
Speaker: It was only good stuff about Oblivion.
Speaker: Now I'm sure I find bad stuff about Oblivion.
Speaker: The first one I played was I don't remember if it was Battlespire or Arena was the first one.
Speaker: I played, this was almost 30 years ago, so.
Speaker: Actually, no, I take that back.
Speaker: Skyrim was not the first Elder Scrolls game I played.
Speaker: I take that back.
Speaker: You played Rino first?
Speaker: Whatever the one, like one of the very first ones was on like, I think it was like on the Sega Genesis or the PlayStation.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It was like that, like,
Speaker: I need to play that again.
Speaker: That was so much fun.
Speaker: I got to look that one up because, yeah, I swear the same thing.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So, like, I didn't.
Speaker: So here's the thing.
Speaker: I didn't know it was an Elder Scrolls game.
Speaker: And that's why it kind of, like, sat there and clicked in my head.
Speaker: Like, wait a second.
Speaker: No, it's not because it's like I don't equate that with an Elder Scrolls game because I never knew the name of it.
Speaker: You know, it was my neighbor's game.
Speaker: I would go over there and I would play it there.
Speaker: I had no idea what the name of it was or anything like that.
Speaker: I mean, I was, like, four years old for crying out loud.
Speaker: Uh-huh.
Speaker: And you were going over to the neighbor's house, huh?
Speaker: How old was his neighbor?
Speaker: 40?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: They were... Dude, you lived in the same neighborhood as me.
Speaker: Say anything?
Speaker: Our neighborhood's not bad.
Speaker: I never said it was.
Speaker: You were making it sound like it was.
Speaker: No, I'm saying, yeah, going over neighbor's houses, you know.
Speaker: Anyways.
Speaker: I was hanging out with the neighbor's kids.
Speaker: Like, they were all my age.
Speaker: So, well, the oldest son was, I think, like 14 or 15 at the time.
Speaker: Uh-huh.
Speaker: I can't find it on the Google places.
Speaker: The Googles.
Speaker: But, yeah, I just, I always thought that was...
Speaker: I'd prefer my Fallout like that, to be honest with you.
Speaker: I always thought that was a missed opportunity.
Speaker: And then they came out with the RPG, and I really was not impressed with that, which sucks because I really want to play it.
Speaker: Just because I want to play as a Vault Dweller or something like that in Wastelands, I think that would be awesome.
Speaker: Which one is it?
Speaker: It's a new Fallout Wasteland RPG, tabletop.
Speaker: And it's 2D20, so it's weird.
Speaker: I think it would be better like a BRP system or something like that, where every time you fire, you get a little better.
Speaker: I think I'd have to make that.
Speaker: But, yeah, it was a fun little game.
Speaker: And now for a segue.
Speaker: It's Daggerfall, the one that I played.
Speaker: Daggerfall.
Speaker: Okay, that was a good one, yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I believe so.
Speaker: It's funny.
Speaker: I think I've played almost all of them.
Speaker: I don't know if I've ever actually played Battlespire.
Speaker: That's the one I don't know about.
Speaker: And as for Fallout, I've never played Brother Tactics.
Speaker: So I guess it was on PC and not on anything else.
Speaker: Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker: I swear.
Speaker: I would swear the same thing, to be honest with you.
Speaker: I swear I played one on the Nintendo.
Speaker: Yeah, I could have sworn this was like the Sega Genesis or something like that.
Speaker: Right, and that's what I was looking up, but I couldn't find it either.
Speaker: Yeah, I just looked up the list of Elder Scrolls games, and it's like it only has it listed for DOS.
Speaker: For DOS.
Speaker: DOS.
Speaker: It's DOS.
Speaker: DOS.
Speaker: It's DOS.
Speaker: Doesn't it stand for something?
Speaker: It does.
Speaker: Yes, it's based operating systems.
Speaker: It's DOS.
Speaker: No, but it was DOS.
Speaker: It's DOS.
Speaker: As somebody who grew up actually learning it, it was DOS.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker: Now, actually, you know, you can use DOS Box to play games for DOS.
Speaker: I'm going to have to do that.
Speaker: Hello, Elder Scrolls 2.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm going to relive my childhood for a minute.
Speaker: Anyways, for a segue into TTRPGs and whatnot, lately I've been watching Me, Myself, and Die with Trevor Duvall.
Speaker: And if you haven't given that one a shot, I really recommend it.
Speaker: Basically, Trevor Duvall is a voice actor, kind of like Matt Mercer and whatnot, except...
Speaker: And he does a tabletop RPG, except he does solo play.
Speaker: And it's really fun.
Speaker: The first season... Did you say something?
Speaker: Is this what you sent me a couple days ago that you told me to watch?
Speaker: Yeah, I sent it to you a couple days ago.
Speaker: Sorry, I need to watch that then.
Speaker: Yeah, I actually sent it to you for a couple reasons, and I was actually about to bring those up before you rudely interrupted me.
Speaker: I'm so sorry.
Speaker: I'm so sorry.
Speaker: So he plays solo.
Speaker: Go ahead.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: No, no, no.
Speaker: It's okay.
Speaker: Keep interrupting me, please.
Speaker: I try.
Speaker: You're doing very good at it.
Speaker: You're achieving it.
Speaker: I am very good at interrupting people.
Speaker: So anyways, Trevor does a, he does a Savage Worlds game using the Mythic Emulator so that he can play.
Speaker: And watching this, it has gotten me to thinking, um,
Speaker: We've been talking about doing our own tabletop, and we were actually going to talk about that tonight if we don't run out of time.
Speaker: One of the things that I was thinking, though, was I've been doing solo play with BRP.
Speaker: And while I love being Sagan... Basic role-playing for those that don't know.
Speaker: Yes, I was going to... Yes, you're right.
Speaker: And I realized that after you said it.
Speaker: So basic role playing and it's a very good system.
Speaker: It's a D 100 system.
Speaker: The reason I really love it is because it allows you to do all kinds of cool.
Speaker: You can choose your own skills really.
Speaker: There it, one of the problems I have with it for solo play is the fact that it can take you quite a while to make a character.
Speaker: Not Rift's time length.
Speaker: Actually, maybe it could be as long as Rift's, but it does take you a while.
Speaker: Whereas you could probably have a character in Savage Worlds up in 20 minutes, and that's taking your time to pick things.
Speaker: the way the Savage World works, and I'm actually going to make another podcast for this so I can explain how Savage Worlds works and how I'm going to use the Savage Worlds in the Mythic Emulator with Perantis and we're going to create our world.
Speaker: But the way it works is Savage Worlds has steps of dives.
Speaker: So if you're going to say you suck at
Speaker: you know, shooting and you're playing a Fallout game, you suck at shooting handguns.
Speaker: Well, you would have a D4 for that, to roll for that weapon.
Speaker: And if you were really good at it, say you're really good at sniper rifles, you'd have a D12.
Speaker: And, you know, you're trying to get a target number,
Speaker: Again, I'm going to go over all this on my next podcast and you would be able to go that way.
Speaker: The good thing about all this is that it makes it so it's much quicker and easier for somebody who's brand new.
Speaker: Brantus...
Speaker: if you're still there relatively new Vrantis is relatively new I don't remember did you ever play Savage Worlds with us?
Speaker: I have no idea what I played dude I started what four campaigns with you I think and we did like the longest we ever got was like five sessions until Operation you know what happened yeah Operation Jackass to be honest with you
Speaker: I don't know either because a certain jackass instigated Operation Jackass.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Don't get me wrong.
Speaker: I was still absolutely hilarious.
Speaker: And I will never forget that night.
Speaker: It was absolutely hilarious.
Speaker: If you could see my face right now, I got the biggest freaking smile on my face from that one.
Speaker: It was the biggest nightmare and the biggest laugh I've ever had.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm so glad.
Speaker: I don't know how many times I facepalmed because of y'all.
Speaker: No, not because of us.
Speaker: It was because of... Oh, you were part of it, too.
Speaker: Don't go... I was only a part of it because of you-know-what.
Speaker: That particular game was Pathfinder, though.
Speaker: I actually still have my character sheet for H. I loved H so much.
Speaker: Definitely my favorite character I've ever made, I think.
Speaker: Which, actually, I want to get... I kind of want to get into Pathfinder.
Speaker: I'm just not...
Speaker: I'm not really looking forward to spending the money for Piso's equipment because it's kind of expensive.
Speaker: However, I am looking to buy two second edition AD&D stuff.
Speaker: So at that point, you know, that's more what Pathfinder was set off of, although it was actually set off of 3.5, I think.
Speaker: But second edition is still very good.
Speaker: That's what I grew up with.
Speaker: And my character sheet anymore, you know, well, this one will be quick and easy.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: Go ahead.
Speaker: I just, I've had that app on my phone cause I thought it saved my character sheet, but apparently it didn't save it when I had to get a new phone.
Speaker: Oh, that's very sad.
Speaker: Sorry.
Speaker: Continue.
Speaker: I will.
Speaker: So we're going to, so I think we're going to go that way.
Speaker: That way.
Speaker: Varantis can actually create a character pretty quickly and I can create a character pretty quickly.
Speaker: Also, if, you know, I would say God willing, if one of our character dies, then at least we can pull another one out pretty quick.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I mean, luckily I've always been pretty quick at creating my characters.
Speaker: So, well, if we did basic role playing, you could, because it takes forever.
Speaker: I bet you anything.
Speaker: I could still make a character pretty quick with basic role playing.
Speaker: Oh, I'm sure you could now.
Speaker: I've actually got that system that I worked on that can do it, but it would just be a lot quicker with this.
Speaker: And now do we want to discuss what our concept is so far?
Speaker: I mean, that depends.
Speaker: We are getting pretty late, man.
Speaker: We are.
Speaker: We're getting... Okay, so we'll save that for the next one.
Speaker: I think we should save that for the next one because it is definitely getting pretty late here.
Speaker: So I think currently the plan is right now I have a nice little chunk of time where I can do some things.
Speaker: I'm going to go ahead and start.
Speaker: I'm going to record a podcast for explaining the Savage Worlds and explaining Mythic Emulator.
Speaker: And then we are going to create a podcast where we're going to create an episode where we actually discuss
Speaker: our setup, what little plans, what little thoughts we have for the setting.
Speaker: We have a thin skeleton right now.
Speaker: So, and we may even change that while we're discussing it.
Speaker: And then we will actually go ahead and create our characters.
Speaker: And then finally we'll, we will continue on and make a new, a new episode where we start.
Speaker: Another one.
Speaker: or a new podcast quote unquote yeah we might actually create that as a new show and if we do we'll let you know I'm also I have to finish one more oh god one more movie and then I can I'm going to put up a review for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies man you're like two months late on that
Speaker: Well, again, the real world's kicked me in the ass.
Speaker: But also, I really don't want to watch that second, Michael.
Speaker: That's more of you just don't want to watch it.
Speaker: Yeah, I really don't.
Speaker: But I do have to go back.
Speaker: I decided I'm going to throw Batman versus Turtles in there.
Speaker: Speaking of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, sorry, totally separate discussion here.
Speaker: Did you see that they're making a video game?
Speaker: based on like that alternate universe where all but one of the brothers gets killed.
Speaker: I hate to break it to you.
Speaker: That's not the alternate universe, brother.
Speaker: That is the actual storyline where I'm not going to tell you which one it is.
Speaker: I could have sworn it was based on like the, a book that's supposed to be set in an alternate universe.
Speaker: It's called the, no, it's called the last run and it is the end of the turtles.
Speaker: Oh, well, there we go.
Speaker: Then I thought it, I mean, that's not really hate to break it to me.
Speaker: I just, I, that, that's what I thought it was.
Speaker: Now, there are four new turtles.
Speaker: Two brothers and two sisters.
Speaker: All I care about is the fact that they're making a video game based on that, and it is supposed to be dark, and I am excited.
Speaker: I am excited about that.
Speaker: I need to actually go back and read the last Ronin series.
Speaker: The last Ronin.
Speaker: And to me, it's exciting.
Speaker: I'm going to stop there.
Speaker: Yeah, I was going to say, we're going to keep on segwaying.
Speaker: No, I mean...
Speaker: What I meant was I'm going to read the last Ronin series and then I'm going to stop.
Speaker: I'm not going to continue on with the kid turtles.
Speaker: I'm not that interested in them.
Speaker: They look dumb to me.
Speaker: They kind of look – I'm going to let them – if I do pick it up later, it will be after they've had a chance to – for the comic series to mature.
Speaker: Because right now it looks like it's pretty dumb to me.
Speaker: So it's like I don't want to push my luck with it.
Speaker: But the last Ronin is supposed to be really, really phenomenal.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Unfortunately, I already know who the last Ronin was, but.
Speaker: Well, yeah, I know it's supposed to be a big secret, but it kind of is what it is.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Now I will also say I will.
Speaker: I'm going to go ahead and push for since we're talking about comics.
Speaker: Eric July, brother, if you're listening.
Speaker: Yeah, right.
Speaker: If you're one of my one listeners, if you ever hear this, dude, I am super stoked about getting a hold of Isom 2.
Speaker: I got my Isom 1 comic and I read through it and I just tore that book to shreds reading it so much.
Speaker: It was phenomenal.
Speaker: And there's actually... I've got it right here next to me.
Speaker: Let's see if I can pull that out without making a lot of noise.
Speaker: There's a...
Speaker: a new comic.
Speaker: It's a whole new comic.
Speaker: Excuse the noise.
Speaker: It's a... That makes a whole lot of noise.
Speaker: Proceeds to make a lot of noise.
Speaker: There is... It's a new company, Ripaverse.
Speaker: I'm sure a lot of people will know about it.
Speaker: And his first comic was Isom No.
Speaker: 1.
Speaker: And I think he was a heavy metalist
Speaker: His music is actually pretty good.
Speaker: I've listened to it.
Speaker: And I think he's also got some other stuff, but he's also been working in comics from what I understand.
Speaker: And so this one was done by Eric July and one of the corners.
Speaker: I'm not happy about that.
Speaker: Eric July and Gabe Altiebe.
Speaker: And it's gorgeous.
Speaker: It's gorgeous artwork.
Speaker: It's a black superhero who he's out there.
Speaker: Just he's, he was working on a ranch and,
Speaker: just trying to do his thing.
Speaker: And then he gets pulled into some shit and you're trying to figure out what he has to do with other superheroes in the area, why he's being shunned.
Speaker: And it's a really good story, but they also give hints for a couple of other comics that are coming out because this is supposed to be the first part in a huge universe.
Speaker: And, uh,
Speaker: The one that I'm really looking forward to is this heavy metal death metal group whose whole goal is to kill demons.
Speaker: And the new comic is Norfurka.
Speaker: Was it all by the same person?
Speaker: I don't know if it's by the same guy, but it's in the same universe.
Speaker: And then there's another one where he's got a lot of...
Speaker: His name is Eric July, but the name of the comic verse is Ripaverse.
Speaker: And it was really, really, like I said, I really enjoyed it.
Speaker: And I'm waiting for the second one to be released.
Speaker: They're working on it now.
Speaker: And it looks awesome.
Speaker: You can just look at the pictures of the original one.
Speaker: It looks freaking awesome.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, it was.
Speaker: And I don't...
Speaker: I quit buying comics a long time ago because of how retarded they've gotten.
Speaker: There's no ideology in this.
Speaker: There's no, you know, we're going to push our beliefs down your throat or anything like that.
Speaker: This is just a guy who's trying to be a, who's trying to start his own company.
Speaker: And he did, he actually got a quite a few, he got quite a few backers, I think.
Speaker: He blew, for being an indie, he got, I think, over $3 million in backing for the first comic.
Speaker: So he's sad.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Well, no, he did not rest on his laurels.
Speaker: They went and bought a warehouse, and they went and they started actually hiring artists.
Speaker: And I've seen a couple of the things, a couple of the comments he's put on Twitter where he talks about
Speaker: um, some of his new artists and it's just getting me more and more excited.
Speaker: The only problem is I have not seen a damn thing on his website.
Speaker: Uh, I think it's rip reverse.com.
Speaker: Um, I just haven't seen anything on there, but he, uh, I mean, I'm just excited to get the second one.
Speaker: I, and so that's my big call out this week.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: Personally, I am currently reading Infinite Stratos.
Speaker: The first volume, haven't finished it, so I won't give my review just yet.
Speaker: I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker: I just got started, to be honest with you, yesterday.
Speaker: Like I said, real life has been kicking me to the point where I haven't even gotten to read yet.
Speaker: So I'm excited to do that.
Speaker: And I did get the next two volumes of Loner Life, Volume 3 and Volume 4.
Speaker: I will let you all know when I'm done with those, hopefully by the next podcast.
Speaker: And that's it for me.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Actually, I'm going to go ahead and give my last segue.
Speaker: Say again?
Speaker: As long as you're done with the turtle movie first, cough, cough.
Speaker: Yes, I have to do that.
Speaker: Dude, did I tell you that I actually tried to watch the first one with the kids?
Speaker: And they said no way in hell because they said it was so scary.
Speaker: They're like, those aren't the turtles.
Speaker: They're demons.
Speaker: i was like i mean to be fair they are actually referenced as demons in a lot of the uh movies oh give me a break i've they never scared my children we watched the first but i'm just saying they were referenced as demons yeah well they he made them look like demons um so that's pretty bad if my kids said no we won't watch it they wouldn't watch it with me they left in after five minutes
Speaker: As soon as they actually saw the turtles, they were like, nope, I can watch it because it was good.
Speaker: So I have to finish that one and I have to re-watch Turtles vs. Batman.
Speaker: Just so I have an excuse to watch it again, to be honest.
Speaker: And then I'll give my review of that one.
Speaker: So that's what I do plan to hit up this week.
Speaker: I'm going to go ahead and drop my calling card now.
Speaker: If you all are looking to talk to me, I'm on Twitter.
Speaker: I am Ramses or at Ramses on Twitter.
Speaker: Let me actually verify that.
Speaker: I can pull it up real fast on here.
Speaker: And as usual, Verantis still won't get his happy ass up on there.
Speaker: I'm at Ram Geekity Greek.
Speaker: God, no wonder I can't get that right ever.
Speaker: At Ram Geekity Greek is me.
Speaker: And we are on Discord.
Speaker: Don't even ask me what the hell we're on there.
Speaker: I'm not even going to try to bring it up.
Speaker: But you will find our names and our information in the DibblyDoo.
Speaker: And my call out this week was for Trevor Duvall and for Ripperverse.
Speaker: And on that, I'm going to pass it over to Vrantis, who's tired of me talking.
Speaker: I'm just trying to figure out what the delivery was.
Speaker: Did they do?
Speaker: That's the thing.
Speaker: Well, it's the thing at the bottom of the YouTube video.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I don't know if that's the actual name or that's just what everybody on YouTube started calling it.
Speaker: Never once in my life have I heard that.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Well, I live on YouTube, so.
Speaker: I mean, I'm probably on YouTube more than you are, but I guess I just different videos, man.
Speaker: That's probably true.
Speaker: Very different videos.
Speaker: What do you watch on YouTube?
Speaker: Well, if I go through my watch history right now, let's see.
Speaker: This would be interesting.
Speaker: Yeah, so ignoring the last two, because like I said, I was having back problems, so I was looking up stretching for back.
Speaker: Okay, that makes sense.
Speaker: Defense and offense.
Speaker: I rage so hard, I smack my head by Ryukar, which plays a lot of, so he's a YouTuber who does Mario Kaizo videos, so it's just super, super hard Mario levels.
Speaker: where they're like impossible to be like, you know, like thousands of people try them and like, it, like four people completed type of Mario levels.
Speaker: Oh, I'm sure my, I'm sure little Ramsey's watches that.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: How to update and install TWI menu.
Speaker: That's for a 3ds mod.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: I look up a lot of tutorials apparently.
Speaker: I watch a lot of tutorials on how to, like you were saying, on how to do modding.
Speaker: So, you know, hearing the toilet.
Speaker: Mainly, I just watch, I go through phases depending on what I watch.
Speaker: You know, like when I was sick in bed the last two weeks, I was sitting there watching nothing but ARC videos because, A, I bought ARC, but I couldn't really play it at the time.
Speaker: So I'm going to watch a whole bunch of random arc videos and I just binge watched this one streamer Axeman who's just got random series of like clan wars and stuff like that.
Speaker: I just got three phases.
Speaker: That's really all it boils down to.
Speaker: I went through that art phase where I'll send you nothing but art videos.
Speaker: I went through the drinking phase.
Speaker: Oh my God, the drinking phase where, what was it, like three or four months ago, it was nothing but that drinking dude's videos where it's like, I left something in vodka for a week or until something interesting happened.
Speaker: I watched him quite a bit.
Speaker: But I'm trying to think if I actually have him subscribed or not.
Speaker: See, now, for me, I wish it were that simple.
Speaker: I watch a lot of the same crap every day.
Speaker: I will occasionally watch something else.
Speaker: Like, I watch RTT85.
Speaker: Like I said, I watch RPG Elite.
Speaker: Switch Force, I kind of stepped away from him because he gets a little bit hyperbolic a lot.
Speaker: Young Ripa, which would be Eric July.
Speaker: I watch a lot of Foodwishes.com.
Speaker: um sam the cooking guy trying to tell her i am i watch a lot of uncle roger uncle oh yeah uncle roger i don't really watch him as much um was d20 aaron and claire yellow flash cashmere um was it cashmere urbanoski uh kazimir urbanoski he does uh
Speaker: He actually makes tabletop RPGs.
Speaker: The Sword and Caravan.
Speaker: The Invisible College.
Speaker: And he's got a new one out called Gonzo Fantasy Companion.
Speaker: I watch Keep Gamers.
Speaker: Which is dead.
Speaker: Dungeon Craft.
Speaker: Professor Dungeon Craft.
Speaker: I watched... You definitely watch a lot of stuff.
Speaker: So you probably are on more than I am.
Speaker: Well, I'm sitting there.
Speaker: I'm just specifically trying to pick.
Speaker: I'm trying to avoid all the political stuff I watch because he doesn't like me talking about that.
Speaker: I don't know why I have SNES drunk on here.
Speaker: I don't think I've watched anything from them.
Speaker: Yeah, I definitely have random stuff on my YouTube that I've never watched before.
Speaker: And then it's like I'll have people where it's
Speaker: I watch their videos all the time and I get notifications for them and somehow I'm not subscribed to them.
Speaker: Oh, these were just the ones I was subscribed to.
Speaker: So, oh yeah, I'll get that.
Speaker: And what's worse is lately it's been like, it's been throwing shit at me.
Speaker: I'm like, I don't care about this.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I hate when I, it's like watchers of this channel also watch this channel and I like click on it thinking it's,
Speaker: that channel not realizing it said watchers of this channel and i'm just like what is this bullcrap i don't want to watch this person's video and then that person's video pops up even more and i'm just like it's some stupid uh old lady twerking i'm like i don't want to see that oh you know it's i'm sorry no that's definitely not what i get for my suggestions so put on that note i think that that's a good note to end on right
Speaker: Let me twerk for you while you close this out.
Speaker: I'm going to throw it back.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: On that note, while he's throwing it back, be thankful y'all can't see video right now.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: Appreciate you.
Speaker: And as always, have a wonderful couple of weeks.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: Bye.
