Today, we're talking about games! Who could've guessed? But not just any games... Games that AREN'T games... To be more clear: game with self imposed limits, rules or goals. OR playing by rules not set in the game itself and only agreed upon.  Some examples we talk about in this podcast are: no hit/deathless/all bosses challenges, GTA roleplay, speed runs, and survive the hunt (GTA5)  It's like making up your own achievements and following though on em.

Transcript

Speaker: Welcome to the Oddly Coded Podcast, the only podcast that talks about video games, including but not limited to video games.

Speaker: I'm Matt, that's Steej, that guy's... That one's Dan, and Lyle lost his hair, please don't say anything about it.

Speaker: Can I get a raucous cacophony from today's cast members, please?

Speaker: That was beautiful Matt what are we doing today?

Speaker: Yeah, we're talking about games who could guess that one right?

Speaker: But not just any games games that aren't games

Speaker: You could say that maybe we're talking about not games today, but we are.

Speaker: That's okay, though.

Speaker: Anyway, what I mean by that is playing a game with self-imposed limits, rules, or goals.

Speaker: And a question for you guys, is there anything better than making your own goals and reaching them?

Speaker: And a second question, being able to make your own decisions and carry them out in your own way.

Speaker: Are we still talking about video games still?

Speaker: Lowell upon insurmountable obstacle that was keeping you from achieving your dreams.

Speaker: What was question one again?

Speaker: What is your name?

Speaker: Hi, I'm Plum.

Speaker: It's Plum, everybody.

Speaker: There he is.

Speaker: It's Professor Plum.

Speaker: It's our guest.

Speaker: He's here.

Speaker: There he is.

Speaker: Let's give him a round of applause.

Speaker: Please stop your applause.

Speaker: All right, Matt.

Speaker: You know him most famously from the billiards room with the candlestick.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: Yeah, that's... All right.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'll pull out one that I said a couple of years ago.

Speaker: He's the light ball from Better Homes and Gardens.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, not my best not my best work, but I thought it was funny at the time anyway.

Speaker: It was great.

Speaker: What what do you what do you want about?

Speaker: It sounded like you had this right?

Speaker: No, it sounded like that you had this shit prepared in advance.

Speaker: Yes, and they went off the rails a little bit.

Speaker: For the most part.

Speaker: So what I wanted to talk about, one of the things that actually inspired me to talk about this in particular is partly the fact that I really don't have access to some of these games that I've seen.

Speaker: A lot of it has happened in like YouTube videos or mainly just YouTube videos.

Speaker: I've seen other people do it or maybe I've heard of somebody doing it.

Speaker: So there's yeah, there's speed run.

Speaker: So I could do a speed run if I really wanted to.

Speaker: But the things that I haven't really had access to are things like Grand Theft Auto role play or like there's there's like there's a a game mode that somebody made.

Speaker: I think like the YouTube is called like fail race or something that they do.

Speaker: It's survive the hunt.

Speaker: So it's Grand Theft Auto, but nobody uses their map.

Speaker: You have one guy who is trying to blend in as an NPC and there's like 20 or 30 hunters that they're just running around the map.

Speaker: And they have like self-imposed rules and stuff, but there's nothing in the game that's actually keeping them from doing like... I want to look up some shit about that now.

Speaker: They just have self-imposed rules for how they want to play that game.

Speaker: Couldn't the players just like kill all of the NPCs and like, ta-da, we win?

Speaker: That's why they have self-imposed rules because that kind of breaks the game.

Speaker: It's people making their own modifications to games without actually modifying it.

Speaker: Like we could talk about mods and whether or not that actually...

Speaker: counts as a game that's not a game but that's for me it's kind of outside of that because it's it's built into the game like you know artificially i guess like it's not like what the it's not vanilla it's not like what the devs gave you but it's not what you're supposed to be doing yeah

Speaker: And sometimes mods do break games, you know, like if you have too many mods, you know, it makes the game not as fun.

Speaker: But if you have the right kind of mods, if you have like the ones that make it the kind of game that's right for you, then it makes it a better experience.

Speaker: But I wanted to ask you guys if you have any examples that you've ever seen or like thought of or like wanted to do even.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: OK, well, in that case, Plum, you're up first.

Speaker: You're up first.

Speaker: Oh, wait, but I have a really good one.

Speaker: Okay, Steve, you're up first.

Speaker: I was up first.

Speaker: That's okay.

Speaker: So self-imposed rules.

Speaker: I mean, you brought up the idea of speedruns, and I just wanted, just because it's like a brand new thing, and I wanted to bring it up.

Speaker: There's a brand new speedrun in Stardew Valley.

Speaker: I don't know if you guys have heard of this yet.

Speaker: So Stardew Valley's 1.6 update just dropped recently.

Speaker: It's going to be like the last big update for a while, because the developer's going to start working on, or keep working on Haunted Chocolatier, his other game.

Speaker: Anyway, he adds, up until this point in the game, you can eat almost anything, right?

Speaker: Especially things that you make.

Speaker: One of the things that you have never been able to eat, even though you can make it, is mayonnaise.

Speaker: And so now he has added in the update that you can drink mayonnaise.

Speaker: Let's go, dude.

Speaker: That's disgusting.

Speaker: Ever since the 1.6 update dropped, speedrunners have created mayonnaise any percent.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: Awesome.

Speaker: Where you try to see who can chug mayonnaise the quickest.

Speaker: What's the fastest time?

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: Let me see.

Speaker: You look that up.

Speaker: I just want to give you a quick anecdote.

Speaker: There's a VR game that came out a while ago.

Speaker: I did one video on it.

Speaker: It was Zenith, like the last city.

Speaker: So it was like an MMORPG sort of thing, but it was in VR.

Speaker: It was pretty cool.

Speaker: It was like the most downloaded game on Steam for like maybe like a day or two.

Speaker: Maybe a week.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: But I remember specifically that like milk, I couldn't like I had taken some damage and I couldn't replenish my HP.

Speaker: And I'm just like in my inventory trying to figure out like how do I drink milk?

Speaker: But it was like milk isn't food.

Speaker: It's an ingredient.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: I mean, it is.

Speaker: But yeah, I felt like I should have just been able to drink the milk.

Speaker: But instead, some some guy just made me noodles and just kept feeding me noodles.

Speaker: And it was also weird because I was a girl in the game.

Speaker: And I may or may not have been wearing clothes.

Speaker: We'll move on from there.

Speaker: Steve, what was the fastest time?

Speaker: So according to Google, I'm not looking at the thing itself, but I'm looking at Google and it says the current record is 17 minutes, 31.32 seconds.

Speaker: Is it like whenever you start a new world, the time starts?

Speaker: No, because what you need to do, at least from what I can gather, I haven't watched one of these speed runs, but in order to even get mayo, you need to have a chicken so you can get eggs, and then you need to put eggs into the mayonnaise machine.

Speaker: I can't remember what it's called.

Speaker: Just eggs into the mayonnaise machine?

Speaker: Yeah, it's a video game, okay?

Speaker: And then mayonnaise basically pops out after a certain amount of time.

Speaker: But it takes a while for the chicken to grow up and then actually lay eggs.

Speaker: You actually have to make the money to be able to buy the chicken.

Speaker: And so there might be, I don't know if there's other ways around it.

Speaker: Like I said, I haven't watched one of these speedruns yet.

Speaker: And even that changes the type of speedrun that it is, whether or not you're using glitches or not.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: I'm not sure if there's like a weird that mayonnaise was in the game, but you couldn't eat it, but you could eat like basically anything else.

Speaker: Was it an ingredient for like a sandwich?

Speaker: I think maybe that would make sense.

Speaker: If the game allows you to eat like everything else, like why is this the one thing that's like, oh, you can't eat that.

Speaker: I know there was one or two other things that you could make, but you couldn't eat.

Speaker: Oh, I've never played Stardew.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: The thing that I can always, I can understand a little bit about that because I mean, take other games with that sort of element to them like crafting.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: one game in particular comes to mind for that but uh i'll let you at home figure out which one that one is uh we'll get there roblox we'll get there um but essentially like there there are some ingredients that you can't eat because they would classify as an ingredient but um

Speaker: I forgot where I was going with this.

Speaker: Okay, since you forgot, I want to go back on the record saying that I read this incorrectly and the current record for Mayo Any% in Stardew Valley is 1706.06.

Speaker: Oh, fuck.

Speaker: Google highlighted the wrong one for some reason.

Speaker: It's by someone named Sea Pickle 5 with a time of 1706.06.

Speaker: Oh, Sea Pickle.

Speaker: That's insane.

Speaker: Yeah, so like about 25 seconds quicker than... Shut up.

Speaker: Plum, I actually wanted to bring it to you just because I was thinking... I don't know if we're thinking about the same thing, but I know you have specific experience with a self-imposed challenge.

Speaker: I'm just going to let you have the floor and see if you might actually be bringing up what I think you might be.

Speaker: Cool.

Speaker: I don't know what you're leading me towards.

Speaker: So I'm just going to, like, not.

Speaker: And I'm just going to go off on a different direction.

Speaker: Sounds great.

Speaker: Maybe we'll come back to that.

Speaker: So were you thinking of Minecraft?

Speaker: No, World Record.

Speaker: Oh, wow.

Speaker: Oh, well, is that really like a self-imposed rule or is he just playing the game as it's meant to be played?

Speaker: You had a self-imposed goal.

Speaker: When I was talking about this in the beginning, I said... It's like speed running.

Speaker: Yeah, so self-imposed limits, rules, or goals.

Speaker: Okay, so on my Twitch stream, my community and I got to level 10,000 in words on stream.

Speaker: So that was at the time the world record for levels.

Speaker: Has it been surpassed?

Speaker: It has been surpassed.

Speaker: It's actually been surpassed twice now.

Speaker: Oh, wow.

Speaker: But he held it.

Speaker: You held it for a little while, though.

Speaker: You got to come back.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: You got to come back.

Speaker: You got to blow it out of the water.

Speaker: How long did you hold it?

Speaker: I held it for almost a year.

Speaker: The whole plane trip.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: And then somebody took it.

Speaker: They got to level one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, five.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And then somebody else beat that and I wasn't there for that one.

Speaker: It's the idea.

Speaker: So how long did it take you to do that?

Speaker: Eight days.

Speaker: I think I'm pretty sure it was eight days of playing words on stream every single day.

Speaker: How did you save your progress?

Speaker: I just didn't turn off my computer.

Speaker: I just paused the game and just like, oh, you can pause the game.

Speaker: OK, basically, like I didn't go to the next level.

Speaker: I figured you could save your progress, but no, that's that's cool.

Speaker: Yeah, I just didn't like crash or anything.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I was so fucking weak of leaving it on.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: OK, so I honestly I didn't think about that.

Speaker: But yeah, that's I feel like that fits in here very nicely.

Speaker: Yes, it does.

Speaker: And it allows me to brag.

Speaker: Does it?

Speaker: It doesn't matter.

Speaker: It allows me to brag.

Speaker: What was that like?

Speaker: So what led you to make the goal?

Speaker: And what was it like to reach the goal, I guess?

Speaker: It just happened by accident, kind of.

Speaker: So back when I used to stream...

Speaker: I would start my streams with words on stream, just like give my viewers something to do while I was getting everything set up and like allowing people to get in.

Speaker: And one day I had some like really, really good people are really some people that are really good at words on stream just happened to come into my chat and we got to like pass my PB on that day.

Speaker: And I was like, yo,

Speaker: I wasn't planning on doing this.

Speaker: Like I have to end this.

Speaker: But if you come back on like this next stream, I'll just let it go until we lose.

Speaker: And they came back and we just didn't lose.

Speaker: That's insane.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wasn't the previous record like 3000 and you beat it by so fucking much.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The previous record was no one will ever beat this.

Speaker: The previous record was 3415 and we beat that on the first day.

Speaker: And then the first day and it took us 20 something hours to beat, I think.

Speaker: And then we just kept on going for another seven days.

Speaker: I remember trying to like contribute to the words on stream thing.

Speaker: Like I came in a couple of times and I was like trying, but it just, it did not like somebody else always got to it before I did.

Speaker: It's, I mean, that was, it gets really difficult because it starts like hiding letters and putting in fake letters and stuff like that.

Speaker: And then once you get high enough, it's like doing a combination of both and multiple of those.

Speaker: And it's, it gets really tough.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: My contribution for the entire eight days was basically just sitting there being like, you guys are so good.

Speaker: You're so good.

Speaker: Yeah, no.

Speaker: Look at you.

Speaker: That was fun.

Speaker: Fulfilling everyone's praise kink all at the same time.

Speaker: I got you before I could.

Speaker: For eight days straight.

Speaker: You're like, ooh, that's so good.

Speaker: You guys are so good at spelling.

Speaker: You're so good at... You got an A on your spelling test.

Speaker: I'm a professor.

Speaker: So anyway, we just got to level 7,000.

Speaker: I'm gonna nut.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: Anywho.

Speaker: So who's going next?

Speaker: Because I think Steej is currently out of commission.

Speaker: Or he was.

Speaker: No, he's back.

Speaker: There he is.

Speaker: That man was down here gasping prayer.

Speaker: He's just dying.

Speaker: Yeah, I do that occasionally.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: Fair enough.

Speaker: He does.

Speaker: Hey, you know what?

Speaker: I talked about Mayo Any% so go ahead.

Speaker: You're about to get some Mayo Any%?

Speaker: Damn, what you got?

Speaker: So I've got a few here.

Speaker: I've got a few that are in the back of my head.

Speaker: How many are we going to get to do?

Speaker: As many as we have time for.

Speaker: 30.

Speaker: 30, okay.

Speaker: I should probably pencil in all 30.

Speaker: 104?

Speaker: Okay, so... 3 million?

Speaker: I had a point in my streaming video creation career where...

Speaker: I wanted to see what stupid shit that I could do on stream that I could make into a video.

Speaker: And there's quite a few, but the one that I am the most proud of because I fucking beat it on my own after I stopped streaming it was, can I beat Spider-Man PS4 without the use of the webs?

Speaker: I remember that!

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I remember you doing that.

Speaker: I got to a certain point in it on stream and then I actually beat it later on.

Speaker: But I want to try it again whenever I get my hands on Spider-Man 2 because that means I have to work on two different Spider-People web styles because they're both completely different.

Speaker: You can try it and see if it works.

Speaker: It's impossible.

Speaker: It does, doesn't it?

Speaker: The way that I made it work is that Spider-Man, a few of his attacks, like his attack pattern combos or whatever you want to call them, they do use webs.

Speaker: But here is my little caveat because of that.

Speaker: I made it to where any webs that I intentionally use myself, be it a gadget or actually in combat because you can use them in combat,

Speaker: Anything that just is a web because it's a web.

Speaker: Like even if I run into a wall and he dodges it with using a web that I can't I can't stop.

Speaker: that's that doesn't count and there were plenty of those there were fucking plenty of those don't you worry about that like cut scenes and stuff no literally like as he's punching people he does like a specific combo if you just keep hitting the hit button over and over like you can set up different combos to get different shit happening up in the air and make yourself look even cooler but if you just keep hitting them

Speaker: He'll like punch them, zip to their face, pull them back and kick them with like do like an air kick.

Speaker: It's insane to watch, but I can't I can't stop a web like that.

Speaker: There's a specific point in both of those games.

Speaker: What I'm going to call chase missions.

Speaker: And, uh, Steve, you were there for the, for the stream.

Speaker: I was, I think all three of you guys were there for one of them.

Speaker: I was there.

Speaker: Um, I had to go and chase the super villain, the shocker throughout the city.

Speaker: Um, those are the, the, the two that were in check.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Um, I had to essentially the whole, the whole thing that I had to do was I had to rely on his, uh, super jump ability, um,

Speaker: And then there's a skill after you unlock the Super Jump ability to essentially bounce off for more distance.

Speaker: So you do one, go here, and then he like kips up with his hands.

Speaker: You bounce off your giant spider nuts.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, dude.

Speaker: It's like, you know those stress balls that you have the handle on that you bounce on?

Speaker: It's like a thorax.

Speaker: Essentially.

Speaker: Like a spider.

Speaker: Yeah, he gets it.

Speaker: He understands the game's mechanics.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I had to plan out an entire route around the buildings.

Speaker: Um, and like learn when to wall run, when not to wall run, when to jump, when to kip up off of a certain ledge of a fucking building so I could gain distance.

Speaker: I finally got him, but then we had to chase the helicopter.

Speaker: So I'm having to do this hundreds of feet in the air when he starts you with a web swing.

Speaker: I had to stop the web swing entirely, fall all the way down to the ground and run up buildings to go after this fucking helicopter that's moving at the speed of sound.

Speaker: At the speed of sound, my dude.

Speaker: It's moving at the speed of mock fuck you.

Speaker: Yeah, honestly.

Speaker: So that part was just completely impossible to get through.

Speaker: It wasn't impossible.

Speaker: I actually did it.

Speaker: I did it by some crazy luck.

Speaker: The helicopter was just close enough.

Speaker: Because once you get close enough to it, it'll prompt you to hit a certain button to get into the cutscene, like the quick time event or whatever.

Speaker: I was close enough while running on a building because I actually got stuck at a certain part and thought that I lost a bunch of time.

Speaker: But I was running across one specific tall building and it came right directly under me.

Speaker: And I'm just like, there's no fucking way!

Speaker: Holy shit!

Speaker: It's somewhere.

Speaker: It's somewhere.

Speaker: I know I kept it.

Speaker: It kind of reminds me, I don't know if you've ever seen the, it was the pacifist play of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Speaker: Can I, before you get on this, can I take just a quick moment?

Speaker: Unbelievable.

Speaker: I need to apologize to our viewers profoundly.

Speaker: I'm very sorry.

Speaker: It turns out I lied to you.

Speaker: I am a shit-tier human being and I apologize.

Speaker: Shit-tier?

Speaker: He's not actually a professor?

Speaker: The thorax of the spider is actually the main body area where the legs come out.

Speaker: The abdomen is the giant big booty bitch part that I was referring to whenever I said thorax.

Speaker: Which is also different from his giant spider nuts.

Speaker: I was just all over the place.

Speaker: And spider anatomy is not my forte.

Speaker: So I just wanted to apologize.

Speaker: I don't know about that.

Speaker: How dare you?

Speaker: And just, I wanted to make things right.

Speaker: I wanted to make things right.

Speaker: That man said that that spider had a fat ass.

Speaker: You are telling me that you don't know spider anatomy?

Speaker: You're lying.

Speaker: That man said, spiders?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And Matt's just sitting there like you interrupted me for this.

Speaker: Matt, were you expecting any of this whenever you told us what the topic was today?

Speaker: I never expect anything from you guys.

Speaker: Okay, you know what?

Speaker: Fair enough.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: That's pretty much the end of my one story.

Speaker: I've got other ones, but someone else can go.

Speaker: I want to hear some more stories.

Speaker: I want to hear about how you tortured yourself for the sake of some fucking clout.

Speaker: Do it.

Speaker: So I don't know if it fits in with this.

Speaker: Cool.

Speaker: But what do you think about Easter egg hunting?

Speaker: And I don't mean just at Easter.

Speaker: I'm talking about in-game.

Speaker: That's tomorrow.

Speaker: Oh my god, we're dating this episode.

Speaker: No, that's not tomorrow.

Speaker: It's in two days.

Speaker: Happy Rabbit Day, you fucks.

Speaker: That's in a day or a week before this episode comes out.

Speaker: Rabbit chocolates and yeah that are okay anyway when I was playing Borderlands 2 for the first time I found a little hidden area that is like Minecraft themed and it's well known in the Borderlands community at this point but like back then when it was brand new I found that and I was like oh my god I have to search every single map every single area like I have to go oh yeah

Speaker: like 100% completely cover this place to look for more Easter eggs like this.

Speaker: Does this count?

Speaker: Towards the topic?

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: I would say that it is just as important as the topic because being able... Okay, so if somebody... We talked about this before about like... I think most of us agree on this too.

Speaker: I don't imagine anybody would disagree.

Speaker: I'm sure there's somebody out there.

Speaker: Absolutely not.

Speaker: It's time for the TikTok video, I guess.

Speaker: It's time for the tick tock comments.

Speaker: Hey, who wants to disagree with me on this?

Speaker: Games are best when

Speaker: there is not really like a need for a tutorial.

Speaker: Games are best when they introduce mechanics and then just let you go wild and make your own decisions and go off into the world and make your own goals.

Speaker: A great example of that would be Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Speaker: There's that tutorial area at the beginning, but then they're just like, hey, go have fun.

Speaker: They kind of give you some...

Speaker: major goals, but like anything you want to do to get there is completely up to you.

Speaker: So along that same line of like you coming across that Easter egg and now you have a goal that you have come up with that was inspired by the devs that put that there.

Speaker: But now like that is what makes games good like that.

Speaker: If a game doesn't have that, it's not really a good game to me.

Speaker: And it's a personal thing for everybody.

Speaker: You can't force it.

Speaker: You have to just make a compelling and interesting world and let them go off and let the players just make their own decisions.

Speaker: They do the same thing.

Speaker: Is really what I'm trying to say.

Speaker: You're telling me you don't like the mandatory button layout graphs?

Speaker: Yeah, press X not to die.

Speaker: You know?

Speaker: That tell them the fucking controls two seconds before you begin the final mission.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Let's introduce some completely new game mechanics for the final boss fight.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I mean, yeah.

Speaker: That's bad game design.

Speaker: That's super satisfying, right?

Speaker: Yeah, it is.

Speaker: Why use the skills you've been building up the whole time whenever you can just get this brand new mechanic right before the boss fight?

Speaker: I mean, along those lines, I mean, you're talking about how games will teach you mechanics.

Speaker: Egoraptor, better known as Aaron Hansen from Game Grumps, has that really great video from like 12 years ago called Sequelitis where he's talking about Mega Man X and

Speaker: And he's talking about how the game teaches you how to play by you playing it.

Speaker: Like, yeah, it's literally it's literally idiot proof.

Speaker: Like you cannot you're playing through it.

Speaker: You're you're you're playing through it.

Speaker: And like there's.

Speaker: All you have to do is start pressing some buttons and you'll figure out how to play the game.

Speaker: If you feel like, oh, what am I supposed to do here?

Speaker: You just start pressing buttons or the way that you're walking or the way that the game is guiding you.

Speaker: It just makes it so that you're learning the game as you're going and there's no need for like, hey, press this button to do this action.

Speaker: It's just like, no, I'm just...

Speaker: learning because i'm playing the game and i don't know if that's exactly the same thing as what you're talking about but it kind of reminded me of that i mean it's just like it's along the same idea yeah granted that one's not like open world where you can take that and do anything but yeah you know yours might be a little bit more akin to what we're talking about i

Speaker: I would say that the idea of games that aren't games, or I like calling it that because I'm sure everybody hates it.

Speaker: It's catchy.

Speaker: It's a catchy title.

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: But yeah, games with self-imposed limits, rules, or goals, it's in the same vein.

Speaker: I've got another fun one.

Speaker: It's kind of like a...

Speaker: I'm trying not to sound conceited, but it's the advanced level of what Egoraptor was trying to say.

Speaker: You did a really bad job of trying not to sound conceited.

Speaker: God, Matt, it's like you just came back from a fucking wine tasting.

Speaker: Please.

Speaker: Mmm.

Speaker: Nutty.

Speaker: Oh my God.

Speaker: Mmm.

Speaker: All this gaming glazing is making me hungry.

Speaker: Gaming glazing.

Speaker: So I actually have something that's again...

Speaker: I'm not sure if this counts, but it's literally so it's a game that my brother and I made when we were kids when we were in the car.

Speaker: So this is essentially it's taking it completely out of the video game world and just like making your own game and making your own rules to it.

Speaker: The game was called Watch Out for Deer I Win.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And we still play it whenever, like if we're ever on a road trip or something.

Speaker: We went to Illinois and back and we played it both ways.

Speaker: This is something you made up?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I'm sorry.

Speaker: The title really caught me off guard.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: Isn't it catchy though, right?

Speaker: Watch out for Deer I Win.

Speaker: God, I could look it up so easy.

Speaker: It's not anywhere yet, but I guess here it is.

Speaker: If anybody wants to play this, feel free.

Speaker: I think it's a lot of fun.

Speaker: We made this game up when we would go to my grandma's house.

Speaker: And there was always a watch out for deer sign.

Speaker: And that's how we knew that we were like really close.

Speaker: Like we were on grandma's road and like there was like maybe like one turn before we would get there.

Speaker: So we would always be waiting to see the watch out for deer sign.

Speaker: Sometimes my parents would go a different way where there wasn't a watch out for deer sign.

Speaker: It was just full just riot.

Speaker: You know, they knew they were fucking with you.

Speaker: So the way the rule, the way the game goes is whenever you see a watch out for deer sign, you have to say, so you have to be able to physically see it.

Speaker: You can't just say it before.

Speaker: I bet I know how you win.

Speaker: You say watch out for dear I win.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: Please tell me that's all of the rules.

Speaker: No, that should have been all of the rules.

Speaker: Is there a referee for this?

Speaker: What?

Speaker: No, please continue.

Speaker: Keep going.

Speaker: I'm really interested actually.

Speaker: You're telling me there's more rules.

Speaker: Yes, there's more rules than just saying watch out for dear I win.

Speaker: I'm in lord of this.

Speaker: You have to be able to see it.

Speaker: You can't just know that it's coming and say it.

Speaker: Even though you both know it's coming, so you're watching out for it anyway.

Speaker: Yeah, so we're both watching out.

Speaker: I know, but if you're going on a longer road trip and you're like...

Speaker: It happens like just infrequently enough that you kind of forget that you're playing the game and then frequently enough that you can play it.

Speaker: So it's it's just kind of it.

Speaker: It became more of a thing when we would go on other road trips and then we would see it and then we would just start playing it and start racking up numbers.

Speaker: So one thing that would happen is if you say it at the same time, who gets the point?

Speaker: And the way that we worked that out is you would just say, watch out for deer, I win again.

Speaker: And if you keep saying it over and over and over again, it's just whoever gives up first.

Speaker: No wonder your parents would skip it sometimes.

Speaker: Oh, yeah, seriously.

Speaker: Your poor parents.

Speaker: It's a victory by knockout.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: And now you may you may know that you may have seen on the road.

Speaker: Sometimes there are two on either side.

Speaker: So now if you have one on either side, you see them both at the same time and you both say watch out for your I win at the same time.

Speaker: You both just get one point.

Speaker: Or you can call them both if you say it fast enough.

Speaker: Watch out for the day or win.

Speaker: How complex.

Speaker: I may have practiced this a while.

Speaker: I really want to play this game now.

Speaker: It's a surprising amount of fun.

Speaker: The next time we're all in a car together, which could be, which could have or could maybe happen.

Speaker: It could happen.

Speaker: This October.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: Fair enough.

Speaker: We've got some shit that we're going to be doing.

Speaker: Exciting stuff.

Speaker: But yeah, no.

Speaker: We should absolutely do that.

Speaker: That sounds like a lot of fun.

Speaker: 100%.

Speaker: There is one rule.

Speaker: I have to go on one more thing about watch every day I win.

Speaker: I do have a question about the rules before.

Speaker: Well, not before.

Speaker: Do elk count?

Speaker: Do what?

Speaker: Do elk count?

Speaker: Okay, so that was something that we had to do when we were, we used, my dad used to live in New Mexico.

Speaker: We went to visit him, we'd go driving around and they didn't have watch out for deer signs.

Speaker: They had like, like antelope or something.

Speaker: Oh shit.

Speaker: There were cows also.

Speaker: Mountain lions.

Speaker: So, OK, so there's fuck.

Speaker: I've got so many more things now.

Speaker: I'm trying.

Speaker: I'm trying to narrow it down to like one thing.

Speaker: OK, so the one thing is so like so if you see so you're going down a road and you see down another offshoot of a road, you see a watch out for deer sign.

Speaker: Yes, that one doesn't count because you're not.

Speaker: That's not the road that you're traveling on.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Really?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Huh?

Speaker: We used to count it.

Speaker: So it has to be on the road you're traveling.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: That's good.

Speaker: No, that's good.

Speaker: It becomes more fair until I saw, since I moved to where I am now, there's a watch out for deer sign that is on an exit.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: that is on the side of the road, but it is like, it's beyond like the, you know how like you get the dotted white line?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And then, and then there's the solid white line.

Speaker: Like the line breaks.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So it's, it's beyond the white line.

Speaker: So it's like not on my road, but it is,

Speaker: But and then I had to like figure out like what like what do watch out for deer signs mean?

Speaker: Do they mean like watch out for deer for like the next however many feet or like is this where deer like would cross before there was a highway here?

Speaker: Because then that means like they have to cross both.

Speaker: like this is where you have to implement the w o fda the wafta or the watch out for deer association because they are the ones they are the keeper of the rules i feel like it does need to come to a vote at some point like i like we do need like a committee or an association yeah the waft a scholarship perhaps like i think you and your brother need to make a website for this yo can we like put it out there dude

Speaker: Listen, if all four of us get into a situation to where we're playing this game, I definitely want to go over some rules because some shit could change.

Speaker: We could be pioneers of the next generation of waftas.

Speaker: I have a surprising amount of like...

Speaker: Not just nostalgia attached to this game, but this is my fucking childhood.

Speaker: So dear God, if somebody makes a rule I don't agree with, I don't know if I'll be able to handle it.

Speaker: Just make your own rules.

Speaker: I started this company.

Speaker: You know how much I sacrificed?

Speaker: Put all of your rules and put a suggestion section.

Speaker: Oh, watch out for deer and sons.

Speaker: It was created by watch out for deer and sons.

Speaker: Make the suggestions tab.

Speaker: Make the people who put in suggestions be able to see if you accept or decline their rules because I just want to see a mountain of declines.

Speaker: I have one I have one last thing I have one last thing one last thing for watch out for deer I win I was okay I was I was I was on I was on the road with my brother and my wife and we were driving through it was through Maryland we were like almost in like West Virginia and there was a

Speaker: there was a watch out for Maryland wildlife sign.

Speaker: And I think it even said specifically watch out for Maryland wildlife.

Speaker: And it was, so first off, like it's not on my mind because it's not, it's not, it's, it's, it's,

Speaker: It's not like, you know, that yellows.

Speaker: It's not the yellow sign, but it had a bear and it had the same deer like symbol.

Speaker: And then it had like a couple of other animals.

Speaker: And it's like, like we got a late start.

Speaker: So, oh, God.

Speaker: Sorry, I hit my fucking loop pedal.

Speaker: I got some background music for this.

Speaker: So, Matt, hold on.

Speaker: Hold on really quick.

Speaker: Shut up.

Speaker: I'm going to finish it.

Speaker: I'm going to finish it.

Speaker: He's going to finish.

Speaker: I'm going to talk for another 30 minutes about Watch Out for Dear I Win.

Speaker: He's going to finish.

Speaker: It's fucking chow garden all over again, but it's my flavor.

Speaker: He's currently finishing.

Speaker: Okay, so I'm like tired.

Speaker: Like, I don't like, like it's dark.

Speaker: I'm not looking for that sign.

Speaker: I'm looking for the watch out for deer sign.

Speaker: And Jill is in the passenger seat.

Speaker: It's fucking quiet as shit.

Speaker: And she goes, puts like, like, like hand on my leg, like slaps into my leg.

Speaker: And it's just like, watch out for Maryland wildlife.

Speaker: I win.

Speaker: And I- Oh, that's great.

Speaker: And I'm just- Were you driving?

Speaker: Yeah, I was driving!

Speaker: I kept it together, like we got like a little- Just like when the- Did you count it?

Speaker: Did you let her win?

Speaker: Did you count it?

Speaker: I argued against it very hard because it put our lives in fucking danger.

Speaker: But she still won, didn't she?

Speaker: But the sign counts.

Speaker: Yup.

Speaker: Flag for almost dying.

Speaker: I understand that the sign should count.

Speaker: There's flag on the play.

Speaker: Maybe we should make a rule about not endangering anyone's lives.

Speaker: Unnecessary endangerment.

Speaker: 10-yard penalty.

Speaker: Repeat first down.

Speaker: No, Matt.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Actual last one.

Speaker: Actual last one.

Speaker: Actual last one.

Speaker: Matt.

Speaker: Matt.

Speaker: I don't want to like throw a wrench in your game here, but like what are we titling this episode?

Speaker: It might be Watch Out for Dear I Win now.

Speaker: But yeah, no, it's a self-imposed.

Speaker: It's a game that I made up with my brother.

Speaker: But yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, but like it was games in games or games within games.

Speaker: Games that aren't games.

Speaker: Games that aren't games.

Speaker: Well, it's games that aren't games.

Speaker: I mean, that's a game.

Speaker: It's not in a game, though.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The games that we were talking about before are games that you made inside of your own game, which but which technically we did because it was a game in the game.

Speaker: I mean, technically, he is playing the game alive.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Nice.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Snake eyes.

Speaker: But I guess at that point, every game is a game in a game.

Speaker: Man's on that waft of grind set for real.

Speaker: Anybody else got anything else?

Speaker: I've got stuff.

Speaker: I also have stuff.

Speaker: Dan, please save us.

Speaker: Uh, so, I, like I was saying, I made several, um, self-imposed challenges that I was gonna turn into stuff that I was gonna make.

Speaker: Oh, I think I know where you're going with this.

Speaker: Um, this one has been, has lived in infamice because I have tried my best to get this shit off of the ground for the past two and a half to three years.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: And I have done this challenge about three times in that process.

Speaker: Steve, you only know about the first one.

Speaker: I've done this shit twice more.

Speaker: Twice more since then.

Speaker: The entire journey was, can I beat the main story, the main quest line of the Elder Scrolls V Skyrim using nothing but a pickaxe?

Speaker: as my weapon of choice.

Speaker: For those of you who are playing along at home, the pickaxe is the second least powerful weapon in the entirety of the game.

Speaker: Right behind the fork.

Speaker: Right behind the fork and knife set that you can get as weapons.

Speaker: Seriously.

Speaker: I was joking, but it might be right.

Speaker: During this challenge, I had to essentially, you have to go from whenever you start to beating Alduin at the end of the main quest.

Speaker: You have to go to Nord Heaven and beat the giant demon Satan Dragon.

Speaker: until he explodes at the end beat harrow brian yeah spoilers shut up harrow brian um that's the same one yeah but the during this challenge i not only figured out a few things to get around this and i'll touch on those in a second um

Speaker: The entirety of this challenge took me nine hours to complete, just based off of the fact that I was recording the entire time and I did not take a break.

Speaker: Pretty much.

Speaker: I had some snacks and I went to piss and shit like that, but I didn't really get up and walk around.

Speaker: I didn't take care of myself for nine hours so I could beat this goddamn challenge.

Speaker: Sounds like a true gamer.

Speaker: Yeah, self-care?

Speaker: What the fuck is that?

Speaker: I had to get married.

Speaker: I'm a gamer.

Speaker: Did you?

Speaker: I had to marry just the first person I saw.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Was it Nazeem?

Speaker: Probably.

Speaker: I probably would have done it if I was able to because if you get married and then invite them into your house, I had to buy a house, by the way.

Speaker: It's a good investment.

Speaker: I had no money for the entirety of this challenge.

Speaker: I was broke as shit.

Speaker: I couldn't afford the actual prices of the vendors in the towns.

Speaker: By choice?

Speaker: No, literally because I had no money.

Speaker: Are we still talking about games or are we talking about real life now?

Speaker: Listen, listen, I don't want to get into that shit, but I had to.

Speaker: I gave myself some very shit rules that as I've done this about three times now, I remember that they are shit.

Speaker: So I can only use a pickaxe for the entirety of the challenge.

Speaker: That means no magic, no magical weapons.

Speaker: And I also can't use a shield because I am able to block with the pickaxe.

Speaker: My block is significantly lower.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The actual like stat wise.

Speaker: And I stagger way easily because I'm imagine if you got hit on the arm with a war hammer, what would you do?

Speaker: Probably just block it easy.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I'd probably intervene.

Speaker: Yeah, you're right.

Speaker: Yeah, I'd probably intervene.

Speaker: You ladies, all right.

Speaker: I'd tell him to stop before I get mad.

Speaker: But I was low on block, low on damage.

Speaker: And so powers that are in the game called shouts couldn't use those.

Speaker: Oh, shit.

Speaker: And I also could not buy or sell any weapons or armor.

Speaker: I couldn't buy any.

Speaker: I couldn't buy anything to, like, help me.

Speaker: So I couldn't buy potions.

Speaker: I couldn't buy weapons or armor.

Speaker: But I could find iron or any of the other materials.

Speaker: Oh, and craft your own.

Speaker: But I have to use the pickaxe in order to get them.

Speaker: Oh my god.

Speaker: You took a grindy game and you made it ten times more grindy.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I had to craft all of my armor.

Speaker: I was up to steel armor by the time that I fought Aldoan.

Speaker: That's not great.

Speaker: For those of you playing along at home, steel armor is usually found in the first fucking dungeon before you get to the town.

Speaker: What the fuck did you do?

Speaker: Yeah, no, I...

Speaker: The only thing that I was really able to buy was a horse, a horse and a house.

Speaker: And so something that I learned to draw it back to the fact that I got fucking married, I had to go all the way to the town on the opposite end of the fucking map to get married for like two seconds.

Speaker: Did you need like a sugar mama or something?

Speaker: Yeah, why did you have to get married?

Speaker: Because your spouse provides for you the best health and stamina boost in the entirety of the game, which is a home-cooked meal.

Speaker: It raises your health and stamina every second.

Speaker: uh i think it like raises it every second but yeah yeah it acts to lucy slack this is skyrim of course it stacks um but i could it was like 50 points of health and stamina every second for like 700 seconds wow and it could stack

Speaker: yeah there was no stack cap so i'm over here and i down 20 of these home-cooked meals aldewin's doing his best with his actual fire it's great honey and i'm just like come at me beast doing great at the end of this challenge i gave i gave myself one last challenge and took all of my armor off

Speaker: and just relied on a pickaxe and home-cooked meals and I fucking slaughtered him.

Speaker: That's all you really need.

Speaker: Me when I kill someone in a mineshaft.

Speaker: And Steej knows about this.

Speaker: The first time that I attempted this challenge, I was about halfway through editing the video.

Speaker: This video would have come out about two or three years ago.

Speaker: And then the entirety of the footage got corrupted.

Speaker: So I lost nine hours of footage as well as all of that editing time.

Speaker: And I never wanted to do that challenge again until I was dumb enough to try it again.

Speaker: Oh, wow.

Speaker: And that's my story.

Speaker: That's my story.

Speaker: No, no, no, no, no.

Speaker: What happened the second two times?

Speaker: I learned about getting married.

Speaker: Didn't you learn about getting married the first time?

Speaker: No, I had no fucking clue.

Speaker: I literally just had to grind my way through so much.

Speaker: So that didn't, you didn't even do that in the first one.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I didn't even do that until like the second or third attempt.

Speaker: But what I'm saying is, is if you, what happened in the second two attempts, did you finish it in the second two attempts?

Speaker: Oh, I finished it all three times.

Speaker: Where's the video?

Speaker: He didn't make the video.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I never made the video for it.

Speaker: He doesn't want the files to get corrupted.

Speaker: If he starts editing it, they're going to get corrupted.

Speaker: That's yeah.

Speaker: No, I got I got bummed the hell out every time.

Speaker: At this point, it's just for your own personal satisfaction, knowing that you could do it.

Speaker: Honestly, yeah, that's fair.

Speaker: Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker: To be honest, it's nice to have done trial runs in case I ever want to make it a fourth for, you know, how much would you pay me if I edited the video for you?

Speaker: We'll get into that later.

Speaker: Anyway.

Speaker: We'll talk in the post show.

Speaker: Sticking on Skyrim, Dan and Steej have their own little in-game mini game.

Speaker: We can touch briefly on it just for those that haven't.

Speaker: This might be their first episode ever because we have talked about this before.

Speaker: But Dan and I did a challenge once where he actually came over to my house.

Speaker: I let him in for some reason.

Speaker: Big mistake.

Speaker: No, I'm broken.

Speaker: I'm broken.

Speaker: yeah that's right he broke in yeah broke uh he plundered my entire house he sat on my face and then uh i blindfolded myself um and then we came in here and i blindfolded myself and yeah yeah he guided me this this sounds kinky

Speaker: He guided me through Skyrim, but not through the whole thing.

Speaker: This was supposed to be real quick.

Speaker: We didn't get all the way through it.

Speaker: We got like maybe one and a half percent.

Speaker: No, hell no, dude.

Speaker: We got, listen, okay.

Speaker: I appreciate the additional details that you added to that.

Speaker: We got through Bleak Falls Barrow.

Speaker: That's what we did.

Speaker: That's such a crazy milestone for being blind.

Speaker: I know, but we didn't get like, you say we got very far.

Speaker: That's, I mean, in the grand scheme of the game.

Speaker: That's like mission one.

Speaker: I mean, you're basically, we went straight there though.

Speaker: We didn't like, we didn't go to white run and then go back.

Speaker: We went straight to bleak falls Barrow.

Speaker: Um, but the thing about it is looking back on that, it was such a fucking communicational Marvel that we got anywhere else.

Speaker: I love that video.

Speaker: So see the difference between me and Dan is I edited the video and it's actually on, it's actually on.

Speaker: I've just, I'm so sorry.

Speaker: I'm so sorry.

Speaker: I know the disappointment and the terrible, awful time that you went through.

Speaker: Losing that much footage is terrible, and I do not blame you.

Speaker: I didn't want to continue on.

Speaker: This podcast today is all about apologies, so I'd like to publicly apologize to Dan for roasting him.

Speaker: So, Pokemon.

Speaker: No, time out.

Speaker: I'm not talking about.

Speaker: First person shooter.

Speaker: uh i forgot what i was saying yeah pokemon um so i've also done uh a nuzlocke which is probably one of one of the most famous types of self-imposed rules there are that was immediately the first thing that i thought of when matt told me the topic i didn't finish it uh and i think i i'm too emotional for nuzlocke's

Speaker: You get too attached?

Speaker: Because it was on stream.

Speaker: I did it on stream.

Speaker: It was Pokemon Emerald.

Speaker: I was doing a Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke.

Speaker: It was my first one.

Speaker: I thought it was Silver.

Speaker: No, I played SoulSilver, but my Nuzlocke was Emerald.

Speaker: For anybody that might be listening that doesn't know what a Nuzlocke is... I was getting there.

Speaker: Okay, I thought you were just going to... Go ahead.

Speaker: You might actually be right.

Speaker: I can't remember if the Nuzlocke I did was Emerald or Soul Silver because I know I played them both, but it doesn't matter.

Speaker: Either way, for those of you who don't know, because Matt wasn't going to tell you, a Nuzlocke is...

Speaker: Wait, wait, hold on.

Speaker: Can I tell you what I think it is?

Speaker: Yeah, sure.

Speaker: Yeah, no, that makes it more fun.

Speaker: All right, let's see.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: It's a muzzle, but just for your nose.

Speaker: It does sound kinky.

Speaker: If he gets it wrong, don't explain it.

Speaker: That's just, just say yes or no.

Speaker: So it's Pokemon, and you're playing it, and it's a Nuzlocke.

Speaker: So you're locked in.

Speaker: Watch out for DIY win.

Speaker: Where?

Speaker: I was actually, don't get me back on that.

Speaker: I will get so sidetracked.

Speaker: Keep going, keep going, keep going.

Speaker: Oh, my God.

Speaker: Okay, so what's in those locks?

Speaker: So you're locked in.

Speaker: So you can't get rid of your Pokemon.

Speaker: So when you catch a Pokemon, it goes into your inventory.

Speaker: That's what you have.

Speaker: And then I guess if there's a couple of standard rules.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The ones that I can remember, the main ones I can remember is are whenever you catch, you can only catch one Pokemon per route that you go on.

Speaker: You have the first Pokemon you meet is the one that you have to catch.

Speaker: If you don't catch it, you're shit out of luck.

Speaker: That is, you have to catch that one, you have to nickname it.

Speaker: Obviously, that's kind of more of an optional thing, but it adds to the attachments.

Speaker: It's one of those sick things that the community around those logs made it.

Speaker: Yeah, you have to nickname it.

Speaker: uh can you evolve it yeah yeah yeah you can evolve it um i mean unless you want to impose those rules too um and then but the biggest one the biggest role of a nuzlocke is painful rule the most painful rule is if your pokemon faints it is done you have to release it you have to get rid of it

Speaker: Yeah, and so you can lose a Nuzlocke.

Speaker: Like, you can completely lose.

Speaker: Why do I want to play that more now knowing that?

Speaker: Do you lose whenever you're out of Pokemon or out of... Yeah.

Speaker: Is there something wrong with me?

Speaker: Fucking psycho?

Speaker: Because, like, theoretically, couldn't you just, like, store shit in the computer, or is it just your team?

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: That is a good question.

Speaker: That would probably be a rule that you would have to impose at the beginning of it.

Speaker: Like, is it just my team, or can I... Because, I mean, you're limited.

Speaker: I could see it going either way, because you're limited on the Pokemon that you can catch anyway.

Speaker: You can only catch one Pokemon per route.

Speaker: And so it makes sense if you're storing them in your computer.

Speaker: You can almost try to plan it out.

Speaker: yeah where it's just like if you're all your pokemon fans like okay well i guess i'll just make a new team with what i have in my pc so i could see it going either way or people could be like nope if my team dies then that's it gotta start over um i mean that that would make things a lot shorter but it would also like raise the stakes a little bit yeah well can you can you can you let a pokemon go if it's your only pokemon no

Speaker: Well, no, I think at that point it would just be like... If you've only got one, the game is not going to let you be defenseless.

Speaker: I like that as an idea.

Speaker: Then you just lose.

Speaker: As a Nuzlocke, you just lose then.

Speaker: I just got to be like a general rule that you keep yourself and you hold yourself accountable too.

Speaker: If it's your last Pokemon and it's done, then you just lose.

Speaker: I think I just like the idea of you being without a Pokemon and now you need to catch one and then you go into a battle with one and you just...

Speaker: and shit in the fucking face, I guess.

Speaker: Isn't it a thing pre-built into the games, at least the older ones, that you can't get rid of your starter?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Am I crazy about that?

Speaker: I don't think so.

Speaker: I know the older ones you absolutely can get rid of your starter.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Not if it's your only Pokemon though.

Speaker: Yeah, as long as it's not your only one.

Speaker: I don't know jack shit about the newest ones.

Speaker: So like Gen 4 and back.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I can't imagine that's imposed on there.

Speaker: Oh, sorry.

Speaker: Go ahead.

Speaker: No, no, no.

Speaker: Please, honestly.

Speaker: Staying with Pokemon.

Speaker: Don't teach to shut the fuck up.

Speaker: Shut the fuck up.

Speaker: Staying with Pokemon, my fiance and her friends, they do something really cool.

Speaker: They're all nerds.

Speaker: They all play Pokemon.

Speaker: Nerds.

Speaker: They all set a timer.

Speaker: They all start at the same time and go for either 30 minutes, an hour, hour and a half, however long they agree to.

Speaker: They get a full team.

Speaker: They have their one starter when they start, so they have to build out their full team.

Speaker: They cannot train them.

Speaker: any of their Pokemon until their team is full.

Speaker: And then after their team is full, they train as much as they want, like as hard as they can until time runs out.

Speaker: And then when time's up, they all meet and do a doubles battle.

Speaker: That sounds like fun against each other.

Speaker: And then when like whoever wins that one, whatever, they start over.

Speaker: They do it all over again, but with different partners and by when everyone's been a partner with everyone else, whoever has won the most battles at the end wins the entire thing.

Speaker: That's cool.

Speaker: That's really cool.

Speaker: That's really cool.

Speaker: That's now that's playing video games.

Speaker: The one drawback.

Speaker: I might add money to the one drawback is you have to have friends to do that.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: Oh, you have to have friends.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: You have to have friends.

Speaker: You got us.

Speaker: No, you don't.

Speaker: You have to have local friends, I think.

Speaker: I mean, technically, never mind.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: Sorry, buddy.

Speaker: Yeah, but I thought that was really cool that they do that.

Speaker: Anyway, are we... Is that it?

Speaker: Are we done?

Speaker: Is that it?

Speaker: Can we be done now?

Speaker: I'm sad.

Speaker: I'm sleepy, bro.

Speaker: I won't go to bed.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, it's around that time.

Speaker: I don't know if you guys have any final closing thoughts.

Speaker: Um...

Speaker: One last thing about watch out for deer, I win.

Speaker: The final part two.

Speaker: The movie almost for realsies this time.

Speaker: I was thinking about doing like, you know, Eurotrek simulator?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Like do something like that.

Speaker: But on a stream and then I could like play it with like chat.

Speaker: Like I could play it like with somebody next to me and then chat could play against itself.

Speaker: Well, I'm actually going to take back what I was about to say.

Speaker: Okay, I was gonna say you could do it in GeoGuessr, but don't they don't they blur out the signs?

Speaker: Blur out what?

Speaker: Like the street signs?

Speaker: GeoGuessr?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Anything that has words.

Speaker: You could just do Google Street View or something.

Speaker: Yeah, you don't have to do street signs.

Speaker: They blur out license plates and faces.

Speaker: Understood.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: But yeah, no, you can absolutely see all the street signs.

Speaker: I mean, for GeoGuessr, it would make sense for them to blur out, like, road signs?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I think it just pulls it straight from Google.

Speaker: Most road signs are universal.

Speaker: That's the thing.

Speaker: At least for what I've found.

Speaker: Not if you're a pro at GeoGuessr.

Speaker: Not if you're a pro at GeoGuessr.
