nextguyup: a
tins: You're listening to this on Thursday morning though.
nextguyup: Wow. Wow.
tins: And we are coming off a huge, just a huge week of football. Just great things. One of the highest rated Monday night football games ever this last week. So shout out to that game.
nextguyup: wow
tins: was really awesome game. sure we're not going to talk about it any more than that. we got we We got a weekend sweep for the AFC South. So for all of you haters out there in the world that call our division trash, call us the worst division of football, guess what?
nextguyup: Yep. Yep.
tins: It's a sweep. We're rocking. We're rolling. We're all back.
nextguyup: Sweet.
tins: We're putting four teams in the playoffs.
nextguyup: Including the Titans.
nextguyup: Good. Put three.
tins: vision
nextguyup: The
tins: Division winner and all three wildcard spots. AFC South.
nextguyup: Titans in both wild card spots after that.
nextguyup: Titans division champs loading.
tins: Oh, okay. Loading. Still, Zach took it again.
Mason: Double down.
nextguyup: felt pretty good about it. the The Titans won and the odds got much worse. I said, that's odds I'm going to take. Get me in on that.
tins: Has nothing to do with the other three teams winning.
nextguyup: I'm going to put a dollar in every single day and I'm going to retire. Just kidding. I'm not doing that.
tins: All right.
nextguyup: That's crazy.
Mason: Pretty good return.
nextguyup: That's not good advice. Don't take that.
tins: ah But we've got we just We have an awesome episode for you guys. we've got another were We're trying to beat AI for a third week in a row because that's what we do around here.
nextguyup: Three in a row. My goodness.
tins: Not even just the fact that we have beat AI two weeks in a row, but we've hit a parlay two weeks in a row. and We're not giving out...
Mason: Plus like 500, by the
tins: rin Yeah, not little rinky-dink or little plus 200 parways.
Mason: by the way
tins: No, plus we're touching 600 almost every time. We're right on the doorstep.
nextguyup: AI has not even come close.
tins: Yeah, AI really stinks. And when I brought this...
nextguyup: Tens told AI that they lost again and AI was like, they were apoplectic.
tins: Yeah. They were kind of mad. They were like, what do you mean you lost?
nextguyup: Yeah. i mean They were like asking for advice on how to bet. They were like, what did you bet? And how did we lose?
Mason: Trying to cheat off of...
nextguyup: was like, if you're so smart, you would know already ai
tins: Yeah, exactly.
nextguyup: So.
tins: Idiot.
Mason: They're trying to cheat.
tins: I'm actually very... I'm really nice to my AI, just in case. Yeah.
nextguyup: Yeah. You never know.
tins: They're eventually going to take over.
nextguyup: I'll say i'll say like police to the ai
tins: I do too.
nextguyup: Like, hey, i if if you don't mind, could you help me out with this, please? Thanks.
tins: Sometimes I tell it is to go. don't mean that.
nextguyup: You just got to give this ego up a little bit.
tins: Yeah, exactly.
nextguyup: and
nextguyup: Yeah, like that. Shout out to ai Bad at betting. and We got another banger for you today. I feel pretty good about it. ah We had some other news. We kind of caught are kind of called the shot.
tins: We've got a lot of news.
nextguyup: We kind of called our shot in the last episode about a certain former NFL Super Bowl winning head coach um with a 24-year-old girlfriend, fiance, who's struggling in college now.
tins: ah Yeah, Zach definitely called this shot.
nextguyup: So the guy's getting fired.
tins: It seems like...
nextguyup: And I maybe even didn't go enough. It seems like he might be gone like this week.
tins: Yeah, they're on bye this week. um there's there's There's rumblings growing out of Chapel Hill that things could be done pretty quick.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: Like, Belichick has...
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: brought up his buyout to the hierarchy i guess there's about to be some uh i read there's about to be some uh uh recruiting violations come cracking down there's some practice violations where they're hitting when they're not supposed to be like tackle drills and in full padded practices you're only allowed to have a certain amount and bill is just like i don't care
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: um It's bad. It's gotten really bad. Bill Belichick's legacy is like, he's tarnishing it hard right now. And it's kind of sad.
nextguyup: No.
tins: But then I remember that I absolutely hate the Patriots. So I don't feel bad.
nextguyup: Yeah. They caused a lot of emotional harm to Titans through a lot of years. um I don't regret anything happening to him.
Mason: Not just the Titans. Basically every team, probably.
tins: Yeah.
nextguyup: Yeah, pretty much everyone, I guess.
tins: Every team.
nextguyup: Yeah. I remember that time they warmed up the balls before kick and field goal at the end of the game, though.
tins: Yeah, and they're like clearing snow off the ground before it was like allowed.
nextguyup: Remember that, Mason?
Mason: Yes.
tins: Also spying on things.
nextguyup: He's been cheating for a long time, let's be honest. um Yeah, shout out him. it's From what it sounds like, this team is about to just get totally blown up. um As soon as he announces he's gone, every player is going to transfer out. They're only there for him.
nextguyup: It sounds like they all kind of got bamboozled into thinking Bill Belichick was going to take this seriously or something. being i don't know.
tins: you
nextguyup: So they're all leaving. I've heard Tennessee's nice this time of year, all you players out there. Yeah, that team is just going to be in shambles.
tins: ah
nextguyup: What a nightmare.
tins: and it already was and they're just they're not in a position to be in one with the acc's like tv rights coming up and probably a lot of those teams abandoning ship
Mason: the The whole thing was to set his son up for success, right?
tins: like like with
Mason: Am I crazy?
nextguyup: Yes.
Mason: Because I feel like it's doing the opposite.
tins: That was that was like part of the contract was that his son gets to be cut, which like if you're his son, man just stay in Washington.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: like he did He was doing a really good job there. he he could have like he He was already known as a pretty good defensive coordinator.
nextguyup: Yeah, just work your way up.
tins: Just like rise up the ranks your own.
nextguyup: You don't have to
tins: Yeah, because now I don't know. i don't know how it works now.
nextguyup: Yeah. Being Bill Bozak's son used to be a really good thing, probably, and now I'm not sure it's such a good thing.
tins: is both He has another son on the staff too.
nextguyup: don't
tins: It's kind of like going to mess him up. it's just ah It's just bad. The whole thing's bad.
nextguyup: Very weird.
tins: and
nextguyup: Yeah, very weird situation there. Not to mention, we haven't mentioned Jordan and her place in this and all of this. so
tins: Yeah. Because she was like supposed to be the ringleader of the whole Hulu thing. And then I guess they've pulled the plug on it.
nextguyup: Yeah, and that got canceled.
nextguyup: They got to show that footage.
tins: i need I need it. I need all of it.
nextguyup: It's going to be way better than if they were like a good team. like It's going to be more interesting as this team is ah an abject disaster. And I want to see that.
tins: I need to see that.
nextguyup: It probably got submitted to the NCAA for evidence.
nextguyup: It's probably why they can't publish it now. I don't know. Crazy story. ah We had another crazy story this weekend from the NFL.
tins: Yeah. Talk about an all-time pull-the-rug-out-from-under-you story. So, Sunday morning in the wee hours before ah before the the London game, ah it's announced that mark Mark Sanchez is in the hospital.
tins: He's been stabbed. He's in critical condition. He's having surgery. And everybody's like, oh, my gosh. you know Twitter starts outpouring of love, Mark Sanchez. What a great guy Hope everything's okay. ah It turns out Mark Sanchez was – he had a little too much to drink.
nextguyup: Not a great guy.
tins: Someone didn't cut off Mr. Sanchez. He was doing wind sprints, maybe some of both.
nextguyup: Or drugs. Or, yeah.
tins: ah Was running up and down the alley in Indianapolis, and a Uber Eats driver pulled up.
nextguyup: Bot.
tins: to like deliver to this hotel. And Mark Sanchez decided to take it upon himself. That that wasn't a parking space and enforced wild West law.
tins: And I guess started beating up this old man who also was in critical condition. He was pepper. He pepper sprayed Mark to try and get him to stop. And apparently, yeah, apparently he thought Mark was going to kill him.
nextguyup: Can't park there, sir. Crime doesn't pay.
tins: he's He stabbed him. I mean, it's not funny, but this is the most ridiculous thing.
Mason: I was in for minute.
tins: that This is like the most...
nextguyup: kind of awesome.
tins: its it's I mean, you...
nextguyup: I mean, shouts about shout out to that old guy who was like, he literally just defended himself against like a former NFL player.
tins: Yeah. I mean, you...
nextguyup: was like, I'll show you with a knife.
tins: And then they've...
nextguyup: i mean, that's kind of sick.
tins: They have it on camera where Mark stumbles out of the alleyway into the like hotel bar again to, like I guess, ask for help because he's been stabbed.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: But just just the 180 of like the everyone's like, oh, Mark Sanchez, he's one of the best guys I know. i hope everything's okay. To like, oh, Mark's going to go to jail. like they're They're seeking felony charges on Mark Sanchez.
nextguyup: Yeah, it seems like that was not good.
Mason: Like his broadcasting career is definitely over at this point.
nextguyup: Unless he wants to broadcast from the penitentiary.
tins: But,
tins: but you know, at least ah least the butt fumble is like going to go down the list now of things that like he'll be remembered for or people will talk to him about.
Mason: Content.
tins: like The butt fumble is way, I mean, that's not even that important. Remember when you got stabbed by that 67-year-old guy?
nextguyup: Not now.
nextguyup: Yeah, think that takes the cake for sure.
tins: i mean, just truly one of the most bizarre stories I've ever I've ever been a part of.
nextguyup: You're part of it?
tins: Yeah, I was a part of it.
Mason: You were there?
nextguyup: yeah oh you were just first responder.
tins: Yeah, I was up really, I was like, I was on Twitter when the first notification came through.
Mason: ah thought he was at the truck stop or wherever it was at.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: I was, was one of, yeah, I was one of the first people that read it. I had to have been. I had my Schefter notifications on.
nextguyup: Wow.
tins: I was on Twitter. It was 30 seconds after he tweeted it. I was there.
Mason: If he didn't do the...
nextguyup: You're doing the Lord's didnt no by the work, Tins.
tins: i'm just I'm on the beat.
nextguyup: He read that first.
tins: i'm trying to i am I am a journalist, after all. I am part of the media. I'm trying to get the news.
nextguyup: Yeah, but in your situation, the journalism is like sending the tweet to the group text being like, guys, look at this before anyone else does.
tins: I had to make sure you guys saw it.
nextguyup: Yeah, and it is funny because um so ah we have a couple of group texts and it does feel like a um competition like the like the old school um see who can break the news first but it's like secondary you know that's like primary source breaking news this is like the secondary source you gotta give it to the people
tins: Yeah, we're just reporting what's since already been reported.
Mason: We've had times where the same post will be sent, just screenshot at the exact same time.
nextguyup: laughing laughing
Mason: And then whoever sent, like whoever it came in first, they'll definitely gloat about it at a high first.
nextguyup: Yeah, it's kind of nice. don't have to like look up anything myself. i just get fed all the important information.
nextguyup: It's great.
tins: ah it is. It's great.
nextguyup: Um, tens, do you want to do like 30 seconds on the Jags or you feel good about that?
tins: um I mean, what else is there to say? We're foreign one We're great. We lose that game 10 out of 10 times in the last 20 years.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: Liam Cohen has this team moving different. There's three wins.
nextguyup: Hmm.
tins: The Texans game, the 49ers game, and the Chiefs game. Those are all staples of you know The Jags are playing well, and now is their time to make a statement and show they're a good team, and then they always fall right on their face.
tins: Just right on it.
Mason: I will say, even with 19 seconds left on the clock, I wasn't comfortable until we saw all zeros.
tins: But we didn't.
tins: Oh, yeah, I wasn't comfortable, especially with the new kickoff rule.
Mason: like ah saw this screen
nextguyup: You weren't comfortable when Trevor Lawrence tripped twice in a row before going into end zone? That didn't make you comfortable?
tins: I was comfortable. I saw the path. i saw the path
Mason: I saw a picture of him like full-blown laying on the turf.
nextguyup: He's on the ground.
Mason: and it was like The crazy part is, this guy scored a touchdown.
nextguyup: Yeah, that's wild stuff right there.
tins: I was so mad because that happened in preseason and he got flamed for it because he like he fell and then everybody jumped on top of him. So I was like, oh no, here we go.
Mason: For anybody out there, if you want to make Tinsley mad, you just bring up Will Levis and Trevor Lawrence in the same sentence, and that will do it. so
nextguyup: Thank you.
tins: That's because you were trying to compare the two. You know...
Mason: I wasn't necessarily comparing. I just said, which this is not a false statement. This is true as it can be. for someone that pulled off the win, there was a lot of content and memes that were created during that win.
tins: What? He fell down and he picked his nose. Who among us hasn't tripped and who among us hasn't picked our nose?
nextguyup: I think we need to also just um a talk about the elephant in the room, which is Tins threatening to dox a referee who ends up bailing out the Jags late in the game.
Mason: Let's tumble across the goal line. Go ahead.
tins: He did not bail us out. That is... we He gave the Chiefs 14 points. Are you joking?
nextguyup: There were two big calls went to win the Jags that I think were fifty fifty calls.
Mason: No.
tins: There...
tins: so the So the pick play on for their very first touchdown, that's not – the rules analysis came on and said that was a bad call. They shouldn't have – okay, so that's a free touchdown for the Chiefs.
nextguyup: I wasn't talking about that. talking the end of the game.
nextguyup: Don't worry. That's early though. That one
tins: Okay, and then we throw an interception, and then the Chiefs scored 30 seconds after that because their corner absolutely suplexes our wide receiver. So that's free 14 points they got.
nextguyup: that one was pretty bad.
tins: So what do we call it? You're talking about the pass interference in the end zone?
nextguyup: I am talking about the pass interference in the end zone.
tins: When the corner has his arm around Brian Thomas' hip with his back to the ball?
nextguyup: Yeah, but that's a like, that that's a you can't call that moment though. gotta let the boys play.
tins: Why?
nextguyup: Play it out.
tins: No. No.
nextguyup: Was it third down? It was third down.
tins: so if the chief so So if the Chiefs get that call, everyone is is riding in the streets that the Chiefs get a call.
nextguyup: This was the late.
nextguyup: I'm not.
tins: that's it It's a blatant pass interference.
nextguyup: And then after that, the the hold call? It was a hold call, right? Yeah.
tins: It was a two men blocking one player on the kickoff. You can't do that. It's literally been a rule for five years now.
nextguyup: Oh. Listen, I'm just saying you really talked a lot of trash preemptively and about this riff.
Mason: That's true.
tins: Oh, I'm sorry that Brad Rogers, ah who has a job at the University of Texas Tech, where Patrick Mahomes got his jersey retired.
tins: 11-0?
nextguyup: Yeah, we know. It was 11-0. Now it's 11-1. Great work.
tins: eleven enough Yeah, 11-1. It's nice.
nextguyup: great work
tins: First time for everything.
nextguyup: You debunked him. I just want an apology for that ref. This is what I really want.
tins: I said I take back 30% of the things I said about him behind closed the doors.
Mason: That's also what I want.
nextguyup: Publicly.
nextguyup: Okay. Okay. I appreciate that. I'll see how he responds. I have him here actually on the podcast today. ah brad do you want to come out and confront Tins?
Mason: you
tins: Hello, Mr.
nextguyup: I'm just kidding.
tins: Rogers.
nextguyup: That would be electric though.
tins: thank
nextguyup: ah He's here to break down every single would call of the game and tell Tins why he's wrong.
nextguyup: All right. I feel like that pretty much covers everything we had to talk about. ah We have some we have an week upcoming of some great games as well. ah This episode is to preview a week full of football.
nextguyup: um And boy, do we have an electric best of the rest game this week. This very fun matchup. We've had a couple of duds in a row. um i'm going to blame Butch Jones for some of it.
nextguyup: And I'm going to blame Nico Iamaljava for some more. I don't know why he affected last week, but I just feel like he did. So this week we have a true barn burner of a matchup.
nextguyup: ah We have your nationally ranked University of South Florida versus your undefeated
tins: I believe they're the mean green that's where mean Joe Green played was North Texas
nextguyup: five and o North Texas. i don't know what their mascot is. What's their mascot? Oh, the mean... That's a good mascot.
nextguyup: That's a good nickname. Really fun matchup here. This truly is kind of the first one we've done that has some serious playoff implications. South Florida does have a big upcoming matchup with Memphis that everyone's kind of has circled.
nextguyup: But this is another big game for a USF team that's been talked about a lot this season so far, especially ah after they beat Florida. ah They had a very tough schedule and they have weathered the storm. They beat Boise state. Who's another favorite to make the playoff.
nextguyup: They beat Florida. They lost to Miami, but that was kind of expected. Miami is pretty much juggernaut this year. um And so then they won two games after that and they've made it look pretty easy so far.
nextguyup: So we're looking at a very fun team. um In fact, their schedule, after they lost to Miami, they beat they'd South Carolina State sixty three to fourteen and they beat Charlotte 54-26.
tins: Yep.
nextguyup: So you want to talk about a high-scoring, high-flying game. that They beat Boise State in the opener. So this is a team that likes to score points. This is a team that's
tins: ye
nextguyup: that ah has a former member of the University of Tennessee coaching staff as their head coach, Alex Golish, seemingly a a star in the making. um He is kind of the next guy up for coaching, and it seems like he is poised to make a move into the D1 rankings or into the Power 4.
nextguyup: um I think he's going to make that jump at some point, ah but they've had a good couple seasons.
tins: Is he the first official ah next guy up, next guy up coach candidate?
nextguyup: Yeah.
nextguyup: He is the official next guy up coaching candidate.
nextguyup: um They have won back-to-back ball games.
tins: Sponsor.
nextguyup: I'll sponsor. $25. twenty five dollars
nextguyup: They're building a new stadium because this the team has been great. I hope they realize that they're going to be bad again once he leaves, but that's something else.
tins: okay
nextguyup: um So this team has Byram Brown, the senior quarterback. um He has had a very good season so far.
nextguyup: They also have a sophomore running back, Nikai Davenport.
nextguyup: ah That is some of their, I'll say their their biggest struggle. Obviously, their offense is efficient. You've heard some of the scoring numbers they put up. Defense, um worse than their offense, I would say, overall.
nextguyup: Even though they only give up they only let Florida score 16 points. Shout out to Florida. they Last year, they were ranked 113th in scoring defense. That's not very good.
nextguyup: And 128th nationally in passing yards allowed per game last year. So they knew that that was a piece they wanted to shore up. It seems like they've been playing a little better this year.
nextguyup: They, like we said, had a couple of really big wins early on. Um, Nico Gramatica kind of, but kind of popped off as their kicker, hit the game winner against Florida. That was very fun.
nextguyup: Um, so some of the, the key things to watch, I think that the past defense is very bad. I think that's going to be a key piece. Um, the over under for this game is like 68 and a half. And so we're expecting a lot of points, expecting some fireworks, but, um,
nextguyup: As you can see, um South Florida is certainly able to put up points. So is it just going to shoot out? Hopefully. Me and Tens have actually not discussed what bet we're taking here. So this will happen live on the air.
nextguyup: Tens, North Texas undefeated.
tins: ah Yeah, North Texas, Mean Green.
nextguyup: What we got?
tins: ah Yeah, Eric Morris, third year as the head coach. it He has improved their record every season so far. We are sitting at 5-0, two overtime wins.
nextguyup: don't
tins: um Now, they have not played the schedule, obviously, that South Florida has, but that's you know South Florida just is a juggernaut slayer.
nextguyup: Wow.
tins: um
nextguyup: Perfect.
tins: North Texas has played Lamar. 51-0 for a shutout in 22 years.
nextguyup: lot of points.
tins: And then, a lot of points. 51s, a lot of points. ah Western Michigan, who is a very solid MAAC team, beat them in overtime Beat a Washington State team who is bad, but they're still – they get good recruits. like It's still a name brand college.
tins: They beat them 59-10, –
nextguyup: As Lane Kiffin said this week, first place in the Pac-12.
tins: one
tins: That's First place.
nextguyup: Did you see that tweet? Lane Kiffin got asked about the matchup with Washington State.
tins: I've seen. Yeah.
nextguyup: He's like, well, we're first place the SEC. They're first place in the Pac-12, so we both are in first place in our division. should be a fun matchup.
tins: Yeah.
nextguyup: Shout Lane Kiffin.
tins: Lane Kiffin is, uh, for all his faults, he's, he's pretty solid on a microphone. Um, And then, okay, so last two matchups are theyve they beat Army 45-39 and then beat South Alabama 36-22.
nextguyup: That's for you.
tins: Army and South Alabama, they're both solid teams. Army is ah another team in the American Conference.
nextguyup: That's lot of points.
tins: Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, this is a team that so far they they've they've been known for their offense the last few years, but this team is actually on pace to break the the scoring percentages that they've had the last couple of years.
nextguyup: Over.
tins: They're averaging 44.5 points per game, um led by quarterback um Drew Mestmarker. marker True freshman, true freshman quarterback. I love that.
tins: Kid's a gunslinger. He doesn't know that he's not supposed to be this good yet. He has thrown 1,247 yards and eleven touchdowns absolutely zero intercepttion
nextguyup: Wow. That's great for overs.
tins: Great for overs. um
nextguyup: you
tins: They've got a tag team running back duo with McKenzie McGill, sophomore from – he played here last year. And Caleb Hawkins, true freshman. They both have just right at 300 yards.
tins: ah McGill has four rushing touchdowns while Hawkins has seven. And then even the next two running backs down the depth chart have two touchdowns apiece. So you're looking at a team with 11 rushing touchdowns from their top four running backs. It's a team that can still run the ball, but they do love to air it out.
tins: um The defense, they took in a lot of transfers. And so far it's paid off, but I think that's more to do with the level competition they've played. um Because you saw when they played a team like Army or South Alabama that they were able to put some points on them.
tins: Um, so I do think, I mean, that's a high over, but I think that's what South Florida wants to get into.
nextguyup: Wow.
tins: um The quarterback for North Texas is also ah decent athlete, can run around a little bit. And it was interesting you brought up the um South Florida kicker because North Texas' kicker is 28 of 28 on extra points and 8 of 8 on x on ah field goals.
nextguyup: Feel
tins: He has not missed. So field goals, that's three points.
nextguyup: good about that.
tins: All points matter for the over.
nextguyup: a lot of field goals.
tins: Last time I checked.
nextguyup: 28 in five games.
tins: know extra points.
nextguyup: Oh, that's it for his career. Okay, yeah. but say I love that.
tins: So I, I agree.
nextguyup: So do we agree? Feel good?
tins: I, I liked it over. I know it's a lot of points, but I think we, I think we, we get back to our roots.
nextguyup: Smash it.
tins: We're not, we're not taking these teams to win. i think there's, there's too much, there's too much variance. There's too much unknown in these teams for us to be picking winners and losers, but you know what we can predict that these suckers want to get up and down the field.
nextguyup: he Yeah, I think there's not a lot of G5 teams out here just like, let's get into defensive battle. Let's make this game gross. These G5 teams are like, let's run it up.
nextguyup: We're going to score the football.
tins: Fourth and five, go for it.
nextguyup: No defense.
tins: what's what's If they score, great. We'll get it back. We'll score. Like, who cares?
nextguyup: writtenten Yeah, I think that over smashing first half.
tins: This sucker's like a nosebleed.
nextguyup: It's going to
tins: There ain't no stopping it.
nextguyup: Okay, you love to see that, folks. It should be a fun game. that is a um I was excited about that one. It is a Friday night game on ESPN2.
tins: Yes.
nextguyup: ah So this is a nationally televised game.
tins: Must watch TV.
nextguyup: Yeah, this is a big one.
tins: Listen, you tell your wife, sorry, Friday night date night is canceled. We're getting pizza and we're turning on South Florida at North Texas.
nextguyup: USF North Texas. It's a huge matchup.
tins: No if, no if, ands or buts about it.
nextguyup: next on the podcast told me
nextguyup: I'm going to score
tins: We're talking about a beautiful night in Denton, Texas. It's going to be 84 degrees, not a cloud in the sky.
nextguyup: ton of points. That's over territory right there.
tins: Come on.
nextguyup: Come on.
nextguyup: Okay. Well, that's that, folks. Take that bet with us because it's going to hit. I guarantee it. Next slide, guarantee. Okay.
tins: Love that.
nextguyup: We're going to get to our categories because we have some other football happening um on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. So we are going to go through our categories here.
tins: sir
nextguyup: We have ah player to watch, surprise or upset potential of the week, and our game of the week. Let's start off with player to watch of the week, Mason. Who you got?
Mason: player to watch Um, so I need to figure out if this was a good trade or not. I actually stated my surprise of the week last episode that I was surprised that the Bengals didn't go and get a quarterback.
Mason: Well, they must be listening to the next guy up podcast because they went and traded for one Joe Flacco. Some of us scratching our heads.
nextguyup: e
Mason: Uh, just a, uh, perfectly good quarterback sitting on a bench, Jameis Winston. I don't understand why they didn't trade for him. Correct. Zach. Am I correct?
nextguyup: That's a bad move.
Mason: Starting quarterback.
nextguyup: what you When your locker room's in trouble, your team is struggling, who do you want? do you want Joe Flacco or do you want the greatest hype man in the history of locker rooms?
Mason: Greatest hype man. Hands down.
nextguyup: James Winston, he gets the vibes up. He helps everybody kind of feel a little better about the team, the team environment. He's go to he's at least good for one electric performance.
Mason: You got 42-year-old Joe Flacco running around out there instead of Jameis Winston, you know, just bringing the energy.
nextguyup: Yeah.
nextguyup: It's a terrible move.
Mason: Terrible. Terrible, as Charles Barkley would say. ah But this is my player.
tins: Yeah, Jameis Winston, he's led a lot of teams to a lot of wins the last few years being Mr. Hype Man locker room guy.
Mason: Excuse me.
tins: Lots of wins.
Mason: Whose player to watch segment is this?
nextguyup: mades
Mason: Well, this is all of ours, but.
nextguyup: They literally bring him on to bad teams and like, well, you're our last hope, so come play. How's he going to win games in situations like that? He's literally ah hired gun just to come in and be like, our locker room's in trouble.
nextguyup: we We suck. Can you come and help us? And he does.
Mason: It's true. No, I just, I'm curious to see if Joe Flacco is going to be able to salvage this Bengals season, which to be honest, the division is kind of still up for grabs a little bit.
nextguyup: He does no.
Mason: I mean, we got a bunch of one in four, just like it.
nextguyup: Just like the AFC South.
tins: Did you know the the rape the Ravens are still minus 200 right now to win the AFC North?
Mason: They could go one in five.
nextguyup: Sorry, the Titans.
tins: At one and four.
Mason: It's crazy stuff.
tins: They're one and four.
nextguyup: Hmm.
tins: i mean, I'm not a Steelers believer, but somebody got to win that division.
nextguyup: I might be.
Mason: um I mean it.
nextguyup: Who are the rest? what are the rest of the odds?
tins: I don't know off the my head.
nextguyup: That's probably a good bet, maybe.
tins: They've got to be. It would be, a um i mean, yeah, go go bet on the Browns or Steelers.
Mason: On the Bengals.
tins: Browns defense is good. Judkins,
nextguyup: Ravens actually tanking. ah Ravens like that bad.
tins: I mean, they lost it they've lost seven starters for the year on defense. It might be, they just traded their best pass rusher because he's a free agent after this year.
nextguyup: Tines have done that many times, so.
tins: Well, I know, but they they the Ravens don't do that.
Mason: It's true.
nextguyup: going to win the division.
tins: Zach, if you keep doing that, I'm gonna have to going to have to do something.
nextguyup: Oh, no.
tins: I'm going to have to. I don't know. I'm going to have to call you out.
nextguyup: Okay.
tins: I'm going to have to call you bluff. going to have to make bet something else other than the dollar.
nextguyup: Oh, no. but I've put two whole dollars on that, so I put my money where my mouth is.
nextguyup: back it up. I have a Super Bowl ticket for them as well, so...
tins: this is This is absurd. you You've got to be in the 1% of Tennessee Titans bettors on DraftKings.
nextguyup: Three whole dollars on the Titans season. and um Okay. Great work.
Mason: We're a player of the week.
nextguyup: i since It's playing a watch.
Mason: You're a player to watch, if that's what you were wondering.
tins: All right, so I've got for in college, I've got Dante Moore. i know I've went to him before, but this is this is a big one. this is you You and the Indiana quarterback are both the Heisman favorites.
tins: Oregon is two in the country right now.
nextguyup: Okay.
tins: You've got a home game, prime time. It's time to show out your former five-star top quarterback recruit in your class. like It's time. is The time is now.
tins: He can have his Heisman moment. Officially and like kind of probably lock himself up if he comes out and puts on a show.
nextguyup: Yeah, I agree. I think that's going to be fun one. I am excited to see... We saw him against Penn State, and that was a very ugly game, and it was kind of just gross. But I think this game is not going to be the same story there. I think it's be a little more high-scoring, a little bit more high-flying game.
nextguyup: ah We've seen Oregon put up a lot of points this season against inferior opponents. We're going to see what they can do against any other team that... Um, has looked very good at times. It's like pretty mediocre at times, but I think it'll be an opportunity to get to show out.
nextguyup: So
tins: um Breaking news to go off of our first segment of the day, official statement from Carolina athletics.
nextguyup: I like that. Ooh.
tins: This is an official statement from Bill Belichick.
nextguyup: and Okay.
tins: I'm fully committed to the UNC football and the program we're building here.
nextguyup: I like that.
tins: End quote. Quote, coach Belichick has the full support of the department.
nextguyup: Wow. Wow.
tins: of the athletics department and university, end quote. Bubba Cunningham, director of athletics. um So, yeah.
nextguyup: That's the shortest question we've ever heard.
tins: The dreaded, the dreaded boat of confidence during the bye week because the Twitter rumors are too hot. You got to come out and say, no, everything's fine.
nextguyup: Florida did the same thing with Napier after USF.
tins: Yeah. So I guess UNC is going to win their game next week. that's what happens.
nextguyup: Wasn't bad on that one.
tins: No, I sure wouldn't.
nextguyup: e
tins: Um, um, who knows?
nextguyup: Although maybe, who knows.
tins: Cause we don't know who they play. I couldn't tell you. Um, and then in the NFL, my player to watch is going Patrick Mahomes. Can this Patrick Mahomes guy, you know, can they figure out what they're doing? Can they, can they win a game against a really good team in the lions at home?
tins: Uh, get their season back on track. Um, You know, they' it's a tough game. They're falling behind in the division, you know, outside looking in right now on a playoff spot. So, Compassionate Holmes lead this scrappy Chiefs team to victory against a playoff team because the chiefs the Chiefs haven't beaten a playoff team yet this year.
Mason: Is he doing something there, Zach? is Is he?
tins: They haven't beat a team with a winning record yet this year.
nextguyup: They have yet to play the Titans, so... Division winners.
tins: right very right Titans, division winners, those are things that go together.
Mason: So i have a question.
tins: Yeah, I have probably an answer.
nextguyup: Hmm. Hmm.
Mason: If ah the Bengals get to the playoffs and they play against the... If Joe Flacco brings them all the way to playoffs and they play against the Jags, do they start Jake Browning again?
tins: I guess we'll never know. We'll never have to know. Mm-hmm.
nextguyup: Okay, just serious question for the boys here. um Do we think Shudder Sanders gets once one rep at starting at quarterback this season?
tins: Not for the Browns.
Mason: season... He's a backup now.
nextguyup: Yeah, the whole season. Yeah.
tins: He's not. They've they've not... Stefanski said, I'm not committing to Shador as the second-string quarterback. We've called Bailey Zappi...
Mason: Who's the second string?
tins: They've called Bailey Zappi to the active roster.
tins: So, that's...
Mason: All right.
nextguyup: Is he bad?
tins: He's probably...
Mason: Interesting.
nextguyup: Is he bad at football? What's happening?
tins: i think I think there's a lot of friction and a lot of outside of football stuff that's making – like Strafanski is like – I think he's taking a hard stand of, I'm the coach and you're not going to trump me.
Mason: and We don't know about.
nextguyup: Hmm.
tins: So, I don't know. It's it's ah it's a real it's a very strange situation. you know what's crazy is that he turned down being drafted from the Ravens because he didn't want to you know he wanted to go somewhere to compete for a job.
tins: He'd be the starter right now, in theory, if he would have just let him draft him. It's
nextguyup: yeah Yeah, he is not he's certainly not helped himself in this situation.
tins: crazy.
tins: He has not. He has not helped himself.
nextguyup: You know who'd be a great mentor for
tins: All right, Zach, who's your player to watch this week?
Mason: Jameis Winston.
nextguyup: ah My player to watch this week. um This is a guy who a lot of people said um should never have had a transfer, deserved a starting spot at Penn State.
nextguyup: Um, has looked better than drew our, this is Bo Perbula at, uh, Missouri.
tins: Mm-hmm.
nextguyup: He has a big test this week coming up against the Alabama Crimson Tide. This is a big matchup. Um, Missouri is 14th in the nation, but they are five and Oh, they've placed a face, a pretty soft schedule so far.
tins: Very.
nextguyup: Um, they did beat South Carolina, a South Carolina team that looks pretty pedestrian though this year, um Other than that, here's been their schedule. ah Central Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, not LSU, just Louisiana, and UMass.
nextguyup: So congrats to Missouri for beating those four teams. And now they they did beat South Carolina 29-20 in what was a pretty gross game. And now they have Alabama coming to town.
nextguyup: This going a big stage for Missouri. um They only have... I mean, their back half of the schedule is obviously more difficult. They've got only got like three pretty big games. They play Alabama. They play Auburn. They play Vanderbilt, Texas A&M. I guess they have a couple more.
nextguyup: And then they have to go to Oklahoma. So this game has become pretty important for them in their playoff hopes. Their schedule it all of a sudden looks a little more difficult than it did at the beginning of the season. Like a lot of SEC teams, they're The top in the SEC looks a little bit worse, and the bottom end looks a little bit better. So some of those schedules all of a sudden, like Tennessee's is the same way. It looks a little tougher now.
nextguyup: um So this is becoming a pretty big game for Bo Perbula. See what you can do in the spotlight against a really good Alabama team. Alabama's favored three and a half points on the road.
nextguyup: So it's a pretty interesting one to watch. See how Bo Perbula does it being matched up against Ty Simpson there. ah Fun game, though. Excited for it.
tins: if If only people could have heard a Missouri breakdown and a win total future given out this summer from ah an STC expert who could have told you, someone told you that their schedule was pretty weak and that they're over.
nextguyup: something somebody on this podcast yeah
tins: Was it plus money and was worth looking at? I know I got a ticket in my bet slips, but
nextguyup: Somebody told you take Vanderbilt over wins, and which I'm pretty sure has already hit, and Kentucky under wins, which is definitely going to hit.
tins: you already
nextguyup: What's wrong about Mississippi State, though? Shout out those guys.
tins: the fighting bulldogs
nextguyup: My goodness. Okay, next up, Mason. Upset watch of the week.
Mason: I was very back and forth on this one.
nextguyup: Okay.
Mason: i
nextguyup: a
Mason: ah I ended up going with just because I watched this game and I truly believe that the Cardinals are better than their box score and better than what their record is.
Mason: I'm going with Cardinals plus 275 against the Colts. We talked about it last episode.
nextguyup: Thank
Mason: A lot of just crazy head-scratching plays that normally never happen on the field. Uh, we didn't even talk about Kyler Murray getting hit in the face, by the way. We didn't even talk about that as one of the insane plays, but that just doesn't happen. And they all happened at the same time. And during one game, Titans get so many breaks.
Mason: We talked about the, did they even deserve to win that game? But I'm just wondering when the Daniel Jones magic is going to run out. If it does, some people are MVP. Or you could just, you know, the flames end up going out.
nextguyup: Mmm.
Mason: So that's my long shot. It's an upset for a reason, Tins, making a face over there. Upset potential. hes't He doesn't believe.
tins: I just think the wheels...
Mason: but you yeah I know you weren't watching that game.
tins: I was watching the end of that Titans game. you about? i had I had no... I had no commitments. I was watching every game.
Mason: as That is true. You had no Jags game going on.
tins: i watched I watched Cameron Ward throw the interception that was then fumbled and then recovered for a touchdown for the Titans.
nextguyup: Yeah, back off, Mason.
tins: I watched it. I watched it live. And I said, wow, that that's crazy.
Mason: Look, he knows.
tins: Yeah.
Mason: That's what I'm saying, though, is the Cardinals got... It was just bad luck after bad luck.
tins: i just well I think the wheels are just falling off for the Cardinals.
Mason: It could be.
tins: and gannon i think Gannon's kind of out. i mean they He just got fined $100,000 for punching his player. um
Mason: yep
tins: That was a really embarrassing thing. like It's just embarrassing all the way around. i think he he's probably going to lose the locker room. Apparently there was some talk as Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison were walking off the field after the game, they said, why did we just stop throwing you the... but like They're openly talking about why did we change the game plan because we were winning to a running game that wasn't working.
tins: um So...
nextguyup: Good question.
tins: Just, you know, when when players start openly calling out the game plan and what the coach is deciding to do, like, it's just things are falling apart over there, I think. So, like i I think Kyler's kind of got like a foot out the door. I think he i think he's kind of over the whole Arizona Cardinals experience.
tins: I think he's looking for a fresh start. So, I don't know. Maybe. Maybe they beat the Colts, but the Colts are just kind of a wagon right now. And that was, there's only two, there's only two NFL games with plus 200 this weekend.
nextguyup: Sure.
nextguyup: Really?
Mason: yep
tins: Yeah. In my, so for my NFL episode of the week, I'm taking the other one. I think it's the Titans. think the Titans, I don't understand. The Raiders are terrible. The Raiders are terrible.
Mason: egg city who would say that
tins: Geno Smith. ah Somebody, somebody said that he was going be an MVP candidate, a sleeper candidate. That's crazy. um
nextguyup: Well, this very podcast.
tins: So, We had a guest on and they said some crazy stuff.
nextguyup: Yeah.
tins: No fact check who it was. ah Yeah, no. I mean, this guy, he congrats to him. The Raiders gave him $75 million. You should count his money and just chill.
Mason: It's true.
nextguyup: Pretty good.
tins: Because, i mean, i think they go to Kenny Pickett. honestly, like that's where they're at. They have a very, like their offense is just bad. They can't move the ball whatsoever. And the defense is just okay.
tins: um I, I know that the, the, the Titans win was super fluky, but maybe they get some, a little bit of something rolling here against the team and the Raiders. That's just, I i feel like they're just, they're dead.
tins: There's just, there's Pete Carroll. This was just a joke higher. I think.
Mason: Not good, Bob.
nextguyup: It's a joke.
tins: um My college one, I'm going deep in my bag right here.
Mason: I'm ready for it.
tins: The Kansas Jayhawks are traveling to Texas Tech.
nextguyup: h
tins: They're 14-point underdogs. And at plus 470...
tins: We're going to get a little Kansas Jayhawk. We're going to get a little Big 12 magic. Finally, this is the conference of chaos every single year where just the nuttiest stuff happens. You have a team or two every year. you're like, oh, man, they're going to win the conference.
tins: it's It's kind of set in stone. And then just pure pandemonium happens every single season. And Texas Tech is riding high right now. they're I think they're ranked 11th in the country. They're the odds-on favorite to win the conference.
tins: But this Kansas team is electric on offense. Jay and Daniel's little brother is is' like a mini him. He can run. He can throw. They can put up points. And that's a dangerous thing when you start getting into a shootout situation.
tins: Anything can happen on a wild Saturday afternoon out there in Texas. So I'm going to sprinkle all a little Kansas – Moneyline here at plus 470.
tins: Mmm.
nextguyup: I like that. i saw that one too. Okay, so... Here's what I've got for you. um Coming from the SEC, I am taking um a team that's going on the road, South Carolina traveling to LSU. It's a plus 70.
nextguyup: They're eight and a half point underdogs. Some things going against them. Obviously, it's LSU. It's going to be LSU at night. It's not a fun place to play.
tins: Mm-hmm.
nextguyup: It's not. I'm going to admit that. But I think LSU has certainly showed some of their the holes in their game. I think their offense still is not great.
nextguyup: ah Their defense is good. It's very good, possibly. um But it just this feels like a game that South Carolina has kind of They're 3-2. They really need a win.
nextguyup: um They feel a little bit desperate. I think Lenore Sellers has had an okay season. He's had some injury problems, but I think this could be a very fun game potentially um and a little one that's a little nervy for LSU fans.
tins: that would be That would have to be the nail in the coffin right there for Brian Kelly. I mean, yeah.
nextguyup: Ryan Kelly. And it could be.
tins: I don't think you can survive that. Losing a ah night game at LSU against South Carolina. when you're With your season on the line, i mean you've lost one game. That's it.
tins: You can't lose anymore.
nextguyup: Against a good team. Yeah. um Actually,
tins: I was hoping it was a look-ahead spot.
nextguyup: yeah
tins: got Vandy next week, so not really, but kind of.
nextguyup: It could be.
tins: but i
nextguyup: I have another, a very similar line, actually. Let let me do a double header. um I'm going to call one of these is happening.
tins: I love that.
nextguyup: ah Florida at Texas A&M.
tins: Yes.
nextguyup: ah Florida, figuring it out.
tins: Yep. That's what they do. That's what they do.
nextguyup: um They're going to Texas A&M. Obviously, very tough place to play. And the A&M team has played pretty good so far. um But this Florida team that we saw last week against Texas looked different, looked much, much closer to what we thought this team was going to be in the off season.
nextguyup: um DJ Lagway looked a lot better, much scarier team here.
tins: Yeah.
nextguyup: um Unfortunately, they have not given up. Billy Napier playing for his job has proven to be a very competent coach. And so here we are once again, I'm in a pretty tough spot.
nextguyup: So we'll see what happens, but. Could be a fun one. 7-point underdogs plus 225. I
tins: I like that. I like, take both of them. One of them will cash.
nextguyup: think so.
tins: You're making money either way.
nextguyup: Okay, last category, Mason. Game of the week. What have you got?
Mason: I'm going to go with the second game of the doubleheader for Monday night. Two first-round quarterbacks from the 2024 draft going head-to-head. That is Bears at the Commanders.
tins: Oh, yeah.
Mason: Yeah, it's see, this one kind of got hidden a little bit.
tins: I forgot it doubleheader Monday night.
Mason: Everybody's kind of like, hmm. But yeah, that's the second header. ah We'll know if this is a good game or not if I'm still up by still awake by the third quarter. So this tends to happen, and I'm not even in an Eastern time like Zach, so I shouldn't be complaining.
Mason: But some of these second these double headers for Monday night tend to end up with me waking up at 2 a.m. m with the TV still on and SportsCenter on because I fell asleep during the game.
Mason: So didn't do much of a breakdown, but you don't need it.
nextguyup: It's always kind of fun to wake up whenever you just you your schedule does not allow you to stay up that late, and you just wake up and the very first thing you're like, oh, how did the game end? And you check it. Especially if you have some bets on it and stuff, it's it's always kind of electric moment.
Mason: Something cashes.
tins: it'll either it'll start out your day ah oh wow wow
Mason: Yeah.
nextguyup: Or you open your DraftKings account and see if it's like much higher than it was when you went to sleep. or It's like Christmas morning.
Mason: Or $20
nextguyup: yeah
Mason: right
nextguyup: It's never less because you've already put the bet down, so it's only going to grow.
tins: True.
nextguyup: You know what mean? All Tens, game of the week.
tins: True. All right.
nextguyup: What do you got?
tins: I just have an NFL one. We've touched on all of the college games that I would have thrown out. I did have Oregon and Indiana, but we already talked about them. um So for the NFL, I am going with...
tins: The Buccaneers hosting the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers, beaten and bruised, IR list and injury report a mile long, still beat the Rams last week on Thursday night football. 4-1, that's a great team. 4-1, you're talking about the two best teams in the NFC right now because I don't count the Eagles in that because they're service academy who can't throw the ball.
tins: um Their head coach is about to be on the hot seat.
tins: against the Buccaneers, the team that just will not die. The Buccaneers...
Mason: How many times does he get to throw that out and get away with it?
tins: Yes, Mason. As many times Zach to say that gets to say, the Titans are in the division. That's that's my that's my counter.
Mason: Or Jameis Winston's electric quarterback.
nextguyup: Could happen. True.
tins: He's not an electric quarterback. He's an electric personality. Please just admit that.
nextguyup: Tens, you're going to admit that whenever James Winston is on the field, you don't tune in just to see what's going happen. Everyone does. That's why it's so fun. It's just, you know, you do.
tins: I was not watching a lot of Jameis Winston on the Saints 1 o'clock games. I don't think anyone was.
Mason: Well, you don't know ball then.
nextguyup: I was.
tins: i don't I don't know, Ball. This guy misses half of football because he's sleeping at 7 o'clock on a Saturday.
nextguyup: All right. ah My game of the week. Tins mentioned it. My game of the week is. i'm just gonna go ahead and cover this one quickly because I think it is probably the most. Well, actually. Yeah, we'll do that one.
nextguyup: Sorry. Tins got me thrown off now. um
tins: rattled him oh yeah so you're not allowed to say that
nextguyup: There's actually a couple of games. we We have not mentioned this one one time yet, which is a little telling. Uh, the red river shootout. Uh, that's this weekend. Uh, all of a sudden now I don't care.
nextguyup: Cancel it. Cancel me. Um, Texas, all of a sudden, has...
tins: trash
nextguyup: This script is totally flipped because if you went to the beginning of the year and said, one of these teams is going to come in undefeated and one's going come with two losses, everyone would anticipate it's the opposite direction on this.
nextguyup: Texas comes in, they've struggled.
tins: Mm-hmm.
nextguyup: Arch Manning has looked mid at best. ah Mid to bad probably. And on the other other end, Matier is good, even though he's got this broken finger thing happening.
nextguyup: and There's rumors around whether he's going to play or not, which is honestly just making the the This game is becoming really interesting, especially if it does not play. um Oklahoma's defense has been very, very good.
nextguyup: and so... don't know. There's a lot of storylines wrapped up in this one, obviously, like Arch Manning underperforming, John Matera, Heisman potential, but also injury.
nextguyup: ah think this is going to be a fun game, even if it's not necessarily what we thought it was going to be. And there's some other bigger name matchups now because of just how the teams have looked. I think it's gonna be very fun game.
nextguyup: So.
tins: Yeah, I think Arch is going to look really dumb in this game. Oklahoma's defense is really good. am ready to eat crow and say Brent Venables is a good coach. um That's my bad.
tins: I kind of trashed him for quite a while. um So, yeah, I think he's going to put Arch in a headlock, and it's just going to get really bad for Arch pretty quick.
tins: yeah that's good yeah it could and that would that would be the storyline yeah
tins: we get ah We get fun storylines out of this game regardless, I think.
tins: That's all right.
tins: Yes, I've got it right here. All right, so AI this week is going with all NFL picks. They normally mix it up a little bit, but I guess they weren't feeling the college slate this weekend, um which is dumb because they normally do pretty well in college. The NFL is what messes them up.
tins: So here we go. They're going with Rams minus seven and a half. Against the Ravens. That's actually that's pretty solid. They're going with ah the Chargers minus four and a half on the road against the Dolphins.
tins: Yeah, that's that's your that's your mess up spot of the week right now. And then in just the most just really weird pick, they're going to go Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers over 37 and a half points.
tins: That game's going to finish seven to six, just like it always does.
Mason: Love that.
Mason: Probably right about that one, actually.
tins: Yeah, this week in the NFL, tons of weird spreads. This is where we're going to find some separation between your good teams and your bad teams and your great teams. Good teams win. Great teams cover.
tins: Really bad teams lose to teams like the the the Raiders and things like that.
Mason: This is where you find separation between us and AI as well, where we just continue to build the gap as we go on our win streak.
tins: We never stop.
Mason: That's right.
tins: Exactly. We're settling for two wins in a row. We're going for three wins in a row.
Mason: Three wins.
tins: Just like there's three guys in the Next Guy Up podcast.
Mason: All right.
tins: So, yeah. um I'm going to dive in here because I think I have probably the grossest pick of the week. And that would be Ravens.
tins: ravens Team total.
Mason: Mm. Yep.
tins: Under 17 and a half. This is why I kind of was like, oh, I kind of like that Ravens pick or the the Rams minus seven and a half. The Ravens are a dumpster fire. This team with Cooper Rush as the quarterback, because that's who's going to be starting. Lamar Jackson did not practice again today.
tins: um little late in the week. This is kind of a telling point of if someone's going to play or not. they They did expect him to to miss minimal two weeks. So no surprise here that he's going playing.
tins: I guess a super talented Rams team. I mean, this team, their defensive line is maybe the best in football. They've got four first round talents on that defensive line. 17 and a half points. You might be like, oh, wow, that's a lot of points.
tins: But 17, I mean, that's that's not that's not crazy for the NFL. A lot of these games finish around thirteen seventeen kind of final scores. So I am going to roll with the Ravens under 17 and a half points, not just because I think it's a great pick, but I just want to show AI that I'm an elite gambler, that I am the type of guy who is not afraid to To just put it out there.
tins: To take an ugly pic just to show how superior I am to AI.
Mason: That's right. We'll have two things going on to pay attention during this game. The team total, but also AI's pick on yeah the spread.
tins: Spread.
Mason: so okay um do you Do you have Zach's pick?
tins: Yeah.
tins: I don't.
Mason: okay Can you try to get that while explain my leg of the parlay? I have not even told the boys about this one. It is Evan Ingram, Tinsley's guy, 22.5 receiving yards.
tins: Not my guy.
Mason: He used to play for the Jags. um Okay.
tins: Yeah.
Mason: I like these international games. This one is international. That would be that morning. ah Last two games, four catches for 33 yards, four catches for 29 yards.
Mason: Tied ends against the Jets. Ferguson, seven catches for 49 yards. Darren Waller, who had been retired for two years, by the way, three yeah three catches for 27 yards.
Mason: Buccaneers, they don't use a tight end. Don't worry about them. That was the only one that didn't hit. Dalton Kincaid, four catches, 37 yards. Pat Friermuth, three catches for 28 yards. so So all those cashed over if we're comparing, if they all had that same line.
Mason: ah So that's what I'm going with. Evan Ingram, 22 and a half receiving yard. Seems pretty low. He could get that in two catches.
tins: Yeah, he's been working his way back from an injury. um i he's He got in week one. so um But Sean Payton loves the the move tight end position. So, um love that. So, let me – sorry, I was trying to put – couldn't find it.
tins: My everything is being weird right now. Yeah.
tins: So just a little behind the curtain here at this point, ah Zach's computer just absolutely blew up. And me and Zach, or me and Mason are trying our best to just act like nothing's going on.
Mason: Keep the pod going. We did pretty good till now.
tins: And yeah, I know ah we can't stop the podcast because Zach is the host. So technically we're just recording into the abyss.
Mason: So get ready, everybody. You're about to have a 21 hour podcast. Oh, I just lost connection as well. Um.
tins: Oh no. Wait. Oh no. Oh my goodness. Is that? That's Stone Cold's music. He's back.
Mason: We're still keeping the pod going.
tins: We're back.
Mason: So Zach, what's your leg for the but for the ah parlay here?
nextguyup: Um...
Mason: Go ahead and just jump right in. We'll be fine.
nextguyup: Um, yeah, I'm not sure gonna be fine, but I will and give just case it is. Um, my leg, I'm teasing it down a little bit. Oregon, mine is six and a half. I think it's at seven right now. Uh, I want, it was a seven and a half earlier. It's at seven now. So, um I'm trying to get it at the six and a half because I like that.
tins: Oh yeah, it is.
nextguyup: I think it's worth it's where it's going to come down to.
tins: and
nextguyup: So Oregon, my six and half is my leg. It's a little bit juicy.
tins: That's all right. The cowards over at ah AI Central ah have juiced up legs. so So our parlay is at plus 529 right now.
tins: And I didn't share what AI's was, but I do think there's a little, yeah, 581 for AI, but it doesn't matter because it's going to be zero because it's not going to win.
nextguyup: Facts.
tins: All right.
nextguyup: Okay. Well, with that, if you're hearing this, it means this episode saved. um And if you're not hearing this, it means this is the last episode. So um you'll never hear this.
nextguyup: We hope you all have a great week and we will see you next time.
