Transcript

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and What is up? Welcome back to the Next Sky Podcast You've got Zach and Tins here today And we have a week of football ahead of us We have some NFL, we have some college, we got some college basketball

tins: that Basketball, maybe it's back.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's back officially ah We've got some college playoff rankings, the first ones ah We have NFL kind of rounding into midseason form at this point.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: We have a little bit of better picture where we're at.

tins: Just had the, yeah. Had the trade deadline. Craziest trade deadline we've probably ever had. i remember last year's episode, me and Mason talking about it. It was before the trade deadline like was official, and it was pretty quiet. But this one, not so much. We'll we'll definitely get into it. cause there was Some people are making moves, some contender moves.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Hmm.

tins: And some people doing something dumb. And we'll definitely get into that.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: talking about Titans?

tins: No. Titans didn't do anything. I mean, they didn't do anything this week other than trade that defensive lineman. But they, I guess they could have traded Jeffrey Simmons and Calvin Ridley and freed up some more cap space, but they wanted to keep those guys.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah.

tins: All-time shot, though, from your GM. I know you didn't see this because you hate the Titans right now, but your GM had a press conference today?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm very well.

tins: No, he had the ah he had a press conference talking about why he traded the players he did last week.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: And he like pretty much said that, uh, Brownlee jr. Was traded because he doesn't fit what they want. Cause he's not in the film room and he's lazy at practice. Like, like straight up called him out. I was like, that's why we traded him.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Well.

tins: And the player responded on Twitter with a bunch of laughing faces.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Oh.

tins: So, you know, it's good. Just, i don't know, really good vibes and and stuff coming from the Titans organization.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Listen, we we understand. Yeah, Titans are in shambles, and it's fine. We're okay with it.

tins: And it's fine.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's triple tank.

tins: Live in the mud. You got a new stadium coming. That's all that matters.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yep.

tins: And I'm glad I helped pay for it.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Turns out people will just come to games in a new stadium.

tins: And if not, at least you can get all the country artists to have your concerts there. Make some money that way.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Bingo.

tins: Bingo, bongo.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's the plan. Forget the team.

tins: d

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: No, it seems going to good eventually. Don't worry. If you build it, they will come. They're good players.

tins: You have to start with the stadium first.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's how you build an organization. It's from the stadium down.

tins: I like that, actually. It's a good motto.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Thank you. it's I should pitch it to the Tennessee Titans organization. We're building it, so please come, good players.

tins: ah That's funny. I like that.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yep.

tins: But, ah yes, we got the first playoff prediction or playoff rankings.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yep. Yep. Playoff rankings.

tins: Yes. So no longer do we care about the AP poll. It's out. Who cares?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, it's pretty much worthless.

tins: Playoffs this year. Yeah. It's always worthless, but extra now that we have the playoff rankings.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: True.

tins: Anything really jump off the page you to begin with? I i had two. had to

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, Yeah, a couple things. I don't know. The Ohio State-Indiana of it all, I mean, it's not really surprising.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They've been dominant in pretty much all of their games. Texas A&M maybe you could feel a little bit snubbed potentially out of that top three.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm not sure it's going to matter long term. um They're also undefeated in the SEC. So I don't know. And then you have Bama and Georgia both with one loss. Obviously, Bama beat Georgia.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And they had that first loss at the first game their season. So none of that's really surprising. Oregon slots in at number six with their only loss being to, Indiana. So you do, I mean, I'm not surprised by that. Your top seven is three big 10 teams and four sec teams.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Then you've got BYU, Texas tech at eight nine. They play each other this week. So that's going to change. Um, I mean, I think this is not an unpopular opinion. um Notre Dame at 10 just feels disgusting.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Uh, another Dame team that, that truly just has not really beaten anyone of of any sort.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i mean, they beat USC, I guess, but their, their losses were, I mean, I guess good losses, but the Miami loss is aging a little bit worse nowadays. Um,

tins: Mm-hmm.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And so Notre Dame is there at 10, Oklahoma at 11, Virginia at number 12, Texas at 13, just on the outside. ah

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Obviously, Georgia Tech would have been there. They're at 16 now until they lost this past weekend. Vanderbilt's there at 15, kind of lurking in the shadows. um You don't have to worry about Vanderbilt after their last game. They're not going in.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Notre Dame, just lock them in. Their schedule is just charm and soft from here on out.

tins: ye

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Ohio State, Indiana are essentially locked in. I think A&M basically is as well. They play Texas, I know, but I think if they lost the game, they'd probably still make it.

tins: Because then they would probably

tins: lose what if they lost another game, it would with the SEC championship game, right? I mean, Texas A&M feels like they're, I don't know, really.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah.

tins: i guess if they lost to Texas, that makes it interesting on who's going to play. In Atlanta. Because you got a bunch of one loss SEC teams.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um Texas only has one loss in the SEC as well because A&M, Bama, Georgia, yeah, they're Ole Miss given they they all win now, obviously.

tins: And... um

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon are basically locked in, I would say. I think Notre Dame is essentially locked in as well unless something crazy happens.

tins: Yeah, because I guess Oregon's last... real game is this week against Iowa, right?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's the last even decent team they play. Indiana and Ohio State don't play any more decent teams. Their schedule's over.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They'll probably play in the Big Ten Championship against each other, and then they'll both still go. It won't matter.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So...

tins: is Is there... I read people throwing out the theory that the best thing for the big 12 to try and get two teams in is whoever wins this weekend, Texas Tech and BYU for the loser for there be a rematch.

tins: And then the loser of that game, then winning the big 12.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Definitely.

tins: And then you would, you think they would, you think they're going to get like, if that perfect scenario were to happen.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um Yes, because um i think the Big Ten's only sitting in three. So i think it opens up some slots.

tins: Okay. Yeah, because I guess coming into the season, you thought four for the Big Ten with Penn State.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: mean, Nebraska was talked about, Penn State was talked about. Both those are pretty bad at this point. So, i mean, it's it's a it's a very, very top-heavy league there.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um Like, there's no one even really very close to to jumping in. I mean, USC is the next highest out of the Big Ten at 20.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And that's just USC, Michigan are right there.

tins: I guess, yeah, because Georgia Tech's loss puts them in a bad spot for the ACC. Really, the ACC is only going to get one again. it can only be.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think if Georgia Tech wins out, and then, yeah

tins: Because look

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think ACC will get one.

tins: Louisville, yeah. Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think Big 12 could get two. um But, I mean, Utah is their lurking. But they have two losses, but I think one of them was a very – was like really early, pretty good loss.

tins: Yeah.

tins: Yeah, i was at a conference.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They lost to BYU, and then they lost to Texas Tech.

tins: Yeah, BYU.

tins: Oh, both conference, actually.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Actually, they have two conference losses. Yeah. I don't know. um Big 12 is interesting. um

tins: Always is.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Honestly, I think Texas Tech and BYU both in the playoffs would be pretty fun.

tins: Last year, too.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm not mad about that.

tins: Yeah. I feel like they they had a chance to do this last year because we were talking about Colorado, and then they just eat each other alive. That's what the Big 12 does.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, at this point last week, I was really worried about that because of Tennessee's chances to get in, and now I just want chaos.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I wouldn't care if there are three big 12 teams make it to be honest.

tins: Oh, less SEC.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's great. I really am just, I am hate watching Vanderbilt right now. Pretty hard.

tins: oh no.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's all that I care about is Vanderbilt not making this playoff.

tins: That would sting a little extra, right?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: they They can't, they can't. Yeah. ah Under no circumstances. Okay.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Yeah, so overall, I mean, it is what it is at this point in the season. I think Notre Dame is, unless they drop a bad one, is ah is is a foregone conclusion, unfortunately.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um i hope... I don't know. It's not a secret that I'm pretty biased against, ah oh, your boy, it's over there at Notre Dame.

tins: Notre Dame.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So that is what it is. But... Yeah, I think it's pretty interesting to look at, talk about some possibilities, because I think there are a lot of them in how things could shake out.

tins: And then that also brings us to our, you know, we've get the one G5 spot open. And right now that'd be Memphis. Who has a huge game on Friday.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, they...

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They do. um So Michigan, despite taking that loss to UAB, are now, because they beat USF, are poised to be that G5 spot.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think it's probably still going to come down to the Atlantic um championship game, probably.

tins: Okay.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Because it's they have to be a conference champ in order to make it. So it doesn't really matter what their what the record is, as long as they make the conference champion. And they kind of picked the best team out of all the G5 conference champions.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's kind of how that goes. Um, so at the end of the day, if USF or were to win the championship game, they would probably still go. Uh, but you, but Memphis does have a big time matchup this week against Tulane. Uh, Tulane's having a very good season as well. They only have two losses on the year and they're still competing for that. Um,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: If Tulane could win this game, the AAC all of a sudden is pretty wide open with Memphis with two losses. um And there's a lot of two-loss teams there kind of eating each other. Could be very fun.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: We've talked about the Memphis team a good bit, but yeah.

tins: Yeah. They, uh, yeah, right now, Tulane's odds to make the playoffs are at plus 1200. Um, Memphis is sitting at three 50, actually USF at two 30 and then North Texas, uh,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: I actually kind to throw this out as a pick. i think I think this is a team that maybe sprinkle it on here at plus 250. So the second lowest odds of like these, the G5 school, like the last kind of um playoff spot is North Texas.

tins: North Texas's freshman quarterback is absolutely insane. He is going to be on an SEC roster next year. He was a walk-on over the summer and earned a earned a scholarship, battled his way up the the depth chart.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: wow

tins: Apparently, he's been working with Patrick Mahomes' private um QB coach since he graduated high school and is just like –

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: My gosh.

tins: he he looks He looks every bit of like a big-time college quarterback. He's 18. He's leading college football in pass yards. I mean, he's just and insane. So I like North Texas to actually steal.

tins: um

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: What are they, 10s? 250? 250?

tins: Come out of the American. ah come ah It's come out of the American. Yes, they are at plus 250. Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay. So South, so North Texas lost to South Florida, 63 to 36 back in early October.

tins: yeah That was one of our easier ah best of the rest overs we ever hit.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: yes, but now North Texas beat Charlotte and they beat a UTSA and they beat Navy who was previously unbeaten, I think. Uh, and so now all they have left is UAB rice and temple.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, And I think there's a pretty – I think their odds are so good because there's a pretty good chance if they went out that they're playing for the championship there in the Atlantic. So,

tins: yeah

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um yeah, Navy 5-1 in conference. Memphis is 4-1 in conference. North Texas is 4-1 in conference. So think there's a pretty good chance Navy drops another one.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, Navy plays Notre Dame this weekend.

tins: Yeah, that nail is.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And they still have to play Memphis.

tins: Yeah, Notre Dame is currently.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah And the South Florida. Holy cow, Navy's got all their – Navy plays Notre Dame, South Florida, Memphis, backed back to back to back.

tins: It's a tough little stretch for the servicemen.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So I think most people are just counting Navy's there. So I think, ah but so other than Navy, your top four teams are Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, Tulane.

tins: and

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So we, there's, it's going to come down to some tiebreakers probably, honestly, to see who makes that championship game there. A lot on the line. The game is going fun.

tins: Yeah, that that last spot, I yeah i think it's going to be fun.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That'll be a playoff game, like a playoff play-in game, essentially.

tins: Yeah, and Memphis kind of kicks it off this weekend i'm playing Tulane on Friday.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: sorry

tins: like that's That's a big one for them.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Big one.

tins: um So, yeah, i't know I'm kind of having more fun watching those games and trying to see who's like the the sneaky team that's going to that's gonna get in like the boys.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Who's going to lose by 100 to Ohio State?

tins: Yeah. Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: No, not even Ohio State, probably, but.

tins: Probably not. Probably oh Miss.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Probably, yeah, or Indiana, Georgia.

tins: A&M.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Who knows when USF beat Florida, so that was fun. Good times.

tins: It's true. It's true. back Back when things were great.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Fond memories.

tins: The season was going well.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Back when the season was right on track.

tins: ah

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay, well, Ten's

tins: phase on yes is i mean

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I know we had a big, ah it feels like it was a heavy, heavy NFL news cycle in the last couple of days.

tins: yes

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Do you want to break down any of the action from the trade deadline?

tins: Yeah. Yeah. so normally the trade deadline in the NBA is always popping. You always got big players moving around and forcing trades. That's a normal thing in the NBA. In the NFL, it's really, you see these big trades happen in the off season around the draft um time. That's really the only time it happens. But this year you saw a few teams go and say, Hey, let's, uh,

tins: Let's make a big splash. Let's try and do something here. So ah first off, the Jets. The Jets are complete and totally in rebuild mode. um They just traded away two cornerstones of their team in Sauce Gardner and Quinton Williams.

tins: um We'll go Quinton Williams first. 26-year-old defensive tackle, former top 10 pick. he's one of He is probably the best defensive tackle in the NFL. Gets traded to the Cowboys.

tins: The Cowboys are so weird because they trade away Michael Parsons for two first round draft picks. We all know Michael Parsons is great player. ah The Cowboys offense has not been the issue this year. They've been putting up points, have been scoring, but their defense is just absolute. It's non-existent. There's no pass rush. They can't stop the run.

tins: They made two trades this week. um They traded for Logan Wilson, middle linebacker from Cincinnati. He's going to, He'll be fine. he'll He'll help stop the run. He's a solid player.

tins: But adding Quentin Williams to a team that is desperate for defensive help was a really good idea. was really smart. um If you still had Micah Parsons rushing off the edge, you still don't have much of a pass rush.

tins: Quentin Williams can get a lot of that done at the defensive tackle spot by pass rushing up the middle. But ah just it's just poor team building. as far as not keeping Micah. Cause you still could have made this trade with your own draft picks and gotten Quentin Williams, but that's the Cowboys.

tins: um I mean, good trade for them. The, ah Really good trade for the Jets because now the Cowboys can't trade. the The Jets get the best pick of the Cowboys and Packers for the next two years um for this trade.

tins: So that means the Cowboys can't trade either one of those first round picks they got from the Packers or their own because the Jets get the get the better of the picks for from the Cowboys.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Oh, interesting.

tins: So smart, smart trade from the GM of the Jets doing that. And then... I know Sauce Gardner is a very good corner. He's, you know, he's highly regarded as one of the better corners league. He's probably, he's top 10 corner in the whole league.

tins: You traded, you got two first round draft picks for him and you got rid of his contract. He was making the most money for the cornerback position. That contract started after this one because he's still on his rookie deal for this season.

tins: And you trade him to the Colts for two their their next two first-round draft picks. The c Colts, this says to them, this is them saying, Daniel Jones is our guy. They're going to probably re-sign him in the offseason because he is on a one-year deal.

tins: And this is them just loading up and saying, hey, we're going to go get another player to help our defense, which their defense is playing well. Sauce Gardner is just going to add to that. He's a little rich in my opinion, but the Rams did the same thing for Jalen Ramsey.

tins: When they saw that they they they thought they had a Super Bowl window, they went and got Jalen Ramsey, traded two first-round draft picks, it worked out for them. They got a Super Bowl out of it. um So that is that's all dependent on Daniel Jones being Indiana Jones and not Danny Dimes, which we saw a little bit of Danny Dimes this weekend.

tins: would be really unfortunate if daniel daniel Danny Dimes back. um So, yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, tend to dig himself in a hole in that

tins: I may have, I may have, uh, yeah, we'll see.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: one.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Could be. Could have.

tins: We'll see. Let's just say there's, there's strength, strength of schedule to this point. Wasn't super great. And it's about to get significantly harder. So we'll see what happens.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay.

tins: Daniel Jones.

tins: And then the Jags traded for Jacobi Myers.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I like that.

tins: Um,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: I'm excited about that. A fourth and a sixth round pick.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Me too.

tins: ah Yeah. um Zach has Jacobi Myers on his fancy team.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Trying to offload him.

tins: He's pretty, and yeah, trying to give me the trade for him.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: I, there's no more room in the end. I have too many Jaguars and um we're in a situation where my team is not performing well in fantasy.

tins: ah Christian McCaffrey can only do so much for me every week. And the thing is, if I, if I don't win at least one more game, I'm going to be at a Waffle House for 12 hours.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: um That's just how it's going to end up. So I, I have no more room for any more Jaguar players. Um, this just is what it is.

tins: And then I'm trying to think if there's,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: What if the Jags go off, though? Jags.

tins: then I, I have, I have Trevor, so it's, it's whatever at this point.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Who knows? This could be the secret sauce.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I kind of like I've got Jacoby, though, because it's it's the same thing as when I drafted Trevor. It's like if that if he if he is a great player and does well, then it's just helping my fantasy team.

tins: Right. Yeah, exactly.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So a part of you, every touchdown, has to think, ah, Zach has him on his fantasy team.

tins: Yeah, I know.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Game point.

tins: And he's going to be a, he's going a red zone target. He's a very big guy. he does zero

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I know. I might actually play him now. He's a good, decent quarterback.

tins: zero, 0% drop rate the last two years.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: pretty good.

tins: He's not afraid to go over the middle, like Brian Thomas Jr. is apparently. So yeah, I think he's, yeah, it's great. I'm going to,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i think this is this is the ultimate... um This is a good test for us to see if... There's been a lot of conversation lately. um Most of it driven by tens.

tins: Oh, no. About what?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: One of two things can be true. um the The true stat is... The Jaguars drop a lot of balls. um One line of thinking says all of the wide receivers on the Jaguars are just bad at catching.

tins: Scientifically proven.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: The other line of thinking is the guy throwing the ball has something to do with it, possibly.

tins: Hmm.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: This is going to help us test it because we have a new person who doesn't drop balls.

tins: Right.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So if he shows up at the Jacksonville and starts dropping balls everywhere, I think we have an answer.

tins: Right.

tins: Maybe. ah But, I mean, this has been a stat that's like three years in the making. It's not like it's just happening. it's been many different guys. Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, the list.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: The list is so long of guys that have contributed to drop passes.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Right. The list. Okay.

tins: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm excited to settle this once and for all personally. So.

tins: Also, sneaky move. this one This one I like a lot. The Seahawks. I wasn't big on the Seahawks going into the year. I'm not. i was really down on last year. I kind of thought they hired the wrong guy and Mike McDonald. i was like, who defensive coordinator hires just never do it for me.

tins: um This guy's legit. The Seahawks are a wagon. Sam Darnold, turns out he's not just a um Kevin O'Connell merchant. like He has improved.

tins: Even after leaving the Vikings, he stayed good. um So shout out to him. The Seahawks are awesome. And they traded a fourth round pick for Shahid Shahid from the Saints.

tins: So giving...

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Also my fantasy game.

tins: Oh, well, he's about to have an uptick because Sam Darnold loves to chuck the ball.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I like that.

tins: You get another outside threat, another another option for him to throw to outside of JSN, who is having the best receiver season so far this year.

tins: um So, yeah, the Seahawks are dangerous, and the whole NFC West is dangerous outside of the Cardinals, who are a dumpster fire.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Huh.

tins: um

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: Kyler Murray... went on IR today.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Also my fantasy team.

tins: Part of it is, in my opinion, part of it is, yeah, he is hurt, but at the same part, ah head coach, um, Gannon, I can't think of his first name, but doesn't matter. He's getting fired.

tins: ah So he's irrelevant. um Said how the offenses looked better the last two weeks with Jacoby Myers as the quarterback. I just think, and Kyler's made a lot of weird comments in the media this year about like not being around.

tins: much longer.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's not ideal.

tins: He like made the comment about the new training facility being, being built and it was going done in two years.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ideal

tins: And he said, yeah, I might be around. ah Hopefully I'm around when it's here, but I doubt it. So ah he's definitely going to be somewhere else. He's going to be a jet. He's going a jet. He's, you know, he's kind of destined to be a jet quarterback. I think it just feels like the right, that feels like a jets move.

tins: They'll trade a couple draft picks for him since they have so many. mean, they have like, I think I saw they have eight first and second round draft picks in the next two drafts. That's pretty good.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's feels like a lot.

tins: Yeah. um So, yeah. So, Shahid going to the Seahawks. And then the NFC West is just like the Rams. I think the Rams are the best team in the NFC.

tins: They look like a buzzsaw right now, offensively and defensively. I think it's time it's time for an exacta. And here you go.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Mm hmm.

tins: Rams over Chiefs Super Bowl. I don't know what the odds of that are. I saw some people throwing some around earlier, but go find that and bet

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: that's my That's my prediction. I think that's what we're going to get.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Rams over Chiefs.

tins: I think the Rams beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

tins: Oh, here we go. I'll find it. Oh, wow. It's at the top. Plus 3,500 for the Rams to beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: What about the other way around? What about Chiefs beat the Rams?

tins: That's actually the favorite of anything at plus 3,000. That's the number one. So what's crazy to me...

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I feel like they're not going to lose two in a row.

tins: Okay, but so Zach, if the season ended today, do you know who's not in the playoffs?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and know it doesn't matter.

tins: It should matter

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Come on. They got Rishi. Their whole so their old team is different. I mean, come on.

tins: They still have to play the Broncos, I think, twice. um i mean, yes. i'm I know. But for for the fact that the that at five and four the Chiefs are not in the playoffs as the season ended today, and they are the Super Bowl favorites right now, if you go on to DraftKings, they're plus 600 with the Bills.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's wild.

tins: Like, that...

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: mean, they lost a tight game to the Bills if the Bills were at home. So, I mean, that's not a bad loss.

tins: No, it's not. but that

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Rasheed Rice is a huge part of their offense, clearly. I mean, if he plays a big role there, and him coming back changed the team, I feel, a good bit.

tins: For sure. it's just man It's just crazy. like ah Going into that game, Patrick Mahomes was the favorite to win MVP. Now it's not's Josh.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: jo It's flipped because he won the head to head.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's crazy.

tins: But to me, i don't know.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: okay

tins: That's just wild to me that the Chiefs are... The Super Bowl favorites right now, but the season ends today and they're not even in.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: You know the the narrative though that Travis Kelsey has to be at the Super Bowl with the confetti with Taylor Swift there. like That's the scene that the NFL wants. It's going to happen.

tins: Or he goes out sad and Matthew Stafford gets to go out with a win and retire because this is it for him.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Come on.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: She doesn't. It's not as flashy.

tins: That was flashy.

tins: Well, I don't know. This this season, it's just weird. Like the the Ravens, the Ravens are now the odds on favorite to win their division, even though their record, they a losing record up until, don't know, they still have losing record.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. it

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Crazy.

tins: Yeah. I was going to go into like the awards, but they're so cut and dry. like Jackson Dart, minus 200 to win Offensive Rookie the Year.

tins: Yeah, that makes sense.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: if

tins: Defensive Rookie, Abdul Carter is the favorite. like He's the only defensive player that's a rookie you can hear about. Offensive Player of the Year, Jonathan Taylor.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: Jonathan Taylor should be getting more MVP talk. Jonathan Taylor has more touchdowns than the Tennessee Titans do as a whole.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: He who does by himself.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Well, who cares?

tins: And also has more than the Raiders.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's tough. Yeah.

tins: Like, I mean, he's just a one-man wrecking crew, but he' they never let anyone but quarterbacks win the stupid MVP award. But it's been a very interesting NFL season.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Give it to Baker.

tins: Oh, man, I wish.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm still on the books. I have their Super Bowl future.

tins: like The buck NFC is so... It's it's loaded. You've got the Rams, the Seahawks, you can throw the 49ers there.

tins: so That's three in one division. You've got the Bucs. They're going to win their division pretty easily. Their division stinks. The Falcons are fake. like They're never actually good. Yeah. You got the whole NFC North with the Bears actually being good.

tins: So no one up there, like the Vikings are the bad team this year up there.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: yeah

tins: The Bears are good. The Lions and Packers, obviously. And then the Eagles and Cowboys, great. Like, I don't know. It's just been, the NFC is, ah the Rams are now the favorite.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Who's the favorite who's the favorite to win the NFC?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Really?

tins: Mm-hmm.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Are the Lions second?

tins: Nope. Eagles. And then Packers.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That is, i mean, they are, it is at the top of that, it's stacked.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Because the AFC still feels like, it did last year, it feels like, maybe have the Broncos in there, right?

tins: Yep.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And the c Colts, I guess. The Colts are in there.

tins: The Colts. Yeah, but the Colts kind of just took the Texans spot.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They've shook it up. Yeah.

tins: because Because the Texans, it's like we get one team from the AFC South.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and

tins: um um But the Colts are playing ah much better version of football than the Texans were last year.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Right, they look very good.

tins: Yeah, I mean, they're they're the second favorite to be the one seed behind the Bills.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: I like the Patriots for that, though. The Patriots remaining schedule is a joke.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Patriots. Yeah, there's some fun teams.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Patriots are fun. Broncos are fun.

tins: that The AFC is lucky. Joe Burrow is hurt.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: I'll say that because I know the Bengals defense is really bad.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Although Joe Flacco.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Bengals might be back.

tins: Yeah, he's still doing it. jeff flaco Joe Joe Flacco and Aaron Rodgers or no Joe Flacco and Tom Brady are making it seem like anyone can play quarterback at the age of 42.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Looks pretty good last week.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, it's wild.

tins: Not Aaron Rodgers. He stinks. I don't care. The Steelers are

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He kind of looks like he's 42. Hmm.

tins: Yeah, the Steelers, trash, garbage. I can't believe I bought into the hype of the Steelers this offseason.

tins: Just for them to go 9-8 again.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i feel like that last ah Jags competing for that last wildcard spot. It's going a battle.

tins: ah Yeah, I mean, that might be what we're competing for. We might be competing for a top four seed.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: AFC South is wide open, in my opinion.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Is it? How many games back are you?

tins: I don't know. We've not lost a divisional game either.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: You got to play them twice, though, I guess so.

tins: Yeah, we still have to play the Colts twice. That's the We get to play the Colts twice.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: you

tins: And they still have some tough games on the schedule.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: like the Titans

tins: As for the Jaguars, our toughest two games are quite literally the Colts and then the Broncos.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: time.

tins: I don't look forward to that Broncos game.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Bonex.

tins: It's in Denver. Yeah, Bo Nix going to do something dumb, but it's also going to make us look dumb, so I just don't look forward to that at all.

tins: ten and ten and seven That's my Jaguar prediction. think we get five more wins for sure.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That should be good enough for the playoffs, I feel like.

tins: I think so. think we're hovering around the wild card unless the Colts implode.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It usually is.

tins: and think the Colts are going implode. That's my official statement.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and All right. He's doubling down, everyone. Fake good team.

tins: and ah fake They are a fake good team. That's all I have to say about it.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Is Jonathan Taylor fake good as well?

tins: Triple. no Jonathan Taylor's not. um That's thing. If you can just bottle him up, then the Colts all of a sudden have problems.

tins: Now, is it easy to bottle him up? No, it's not. I've seen a lot of people say that his little celebration thing he does where he like hops to one leg and skips into the end zone, he's going to pull a hammy doing that.

tins: Fantasy owners on Twitter are going wild.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow.

tins: like tell Someone tell him to stop doing this.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm not. i like it.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I want him to keep doing it. I think it eight and adds to his swagger.

tins: He's done it a lot. Let's just say that. He had three games in a row where he scored three touchdowns.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He scored a lot.

tins: He scored nine touchdowns in three games.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Very true.

tins: This man's a menace to society. He was going in fantasy drafts at the end of the second round.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Great for my fantasy team.

tins: I haven't been in my big money UPS league, so I'm also happy. I took him and CMC. Everyone thought I was a wild man.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Kyler Murray was my big That was my big loss that was my only like real whiff.

tins: Can I say something about Kyler Murray?

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.

tins: um Can he just go play baseball? I'm just kind of done ah believing in Kyler Murray as an NFL quarterback. like Go play baseball. Go play Call of Duty.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: You think? The Cardinals just aren't bad.

tins: Yeah, dude.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: in that

tins: think...

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He's not going to go somewhere and be much better. Like we've seen other quarterbacks too.

tins: No, I think it's him. like Marvin Harrison and him were beefing, and Jacoby Brissett talked about it in the press conference.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Could be.

tins: He's like, yeah, me and him have a good relationship. like he's He's been having a hard few weeks, and i think you and Marvin Harrison has played very well with Jacoby. He's like, I think you can see that we've got a good connection and we communicate.

tins: Kyler and Marvin Harrison were like not talking on the sideline. They were kind of just like both pouting. don't know. just don't think Kyler has that... like leadership, quarterback, guys rally around him type thing.

tins: think he's too focused on Call of Duty.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Could be.

tins: I think he needs just go play baseball. He was really good baseball player. He's a top five pick. Just go do that.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'd like for him to play good football this year somewhere.

tins: He's done this year, Zach. You can just go and drop him.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wrong.

tins: He's on IR. He's going to miss the next four games.

tins: I just broke news to Zach that that's how that was going to work.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm so glad I picked up Jackson Dart or I would be cooked.

tins: Yeah, you're welcome.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and Thanks, Tins.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: All right, folks. A little bit of a um little bit of a more casual episode today. um because you got anything else?

tins: Mason brings the seriousness, uh,

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, tim Mason actually does. he He brings some a lot of po player props that sometimes hit.

tins: A lot of the most absurd player props in the world.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Shout out, Mason.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He picks the most obscure woods typically But sometimes it's fun Sometimes it's not

tins: Sometimes we're stretching TJ Hawkinson at 930 in the morning.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: so

tins: While he's in London.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But We will be back to Breakdown this weekend in football ah Thank you for joining us ah We hope you all have a great week We hope Mason comes back soon

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah

tins: We don't know where he is.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, he's gone. um

tins: The Vols murdered him.

Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Actually, he has a solo pod coming tomorrow night. um All right. With that, we hope guys have a great week. See you later.
