Preseason Power Rankings: Counting Down From the Bottom

The hosts kick off the season by unveiling their fantasy football power rankings, counting down from the very bottom of the league. In this episode, the power rankings commence with spots 14 through 11 — expect heated debate, a few controversial cases, and plenty of trash talk as the bottom tier gets set. Tune in before the next tier drops.

Transcript

Giovanni Vallejo: Hey everybody, this is the Penn State uh, Fantasy Football League, 14 teams. It's me, Gio. Andrew, Trevor, and then we're going to break down how we did the power rankings. if Trevor, if you want to start us off.

Trevor: With what just deadline? Oh how i I'm fucking retarded.

Giovanni Vallejo: How you...

Trevor: I don't listen to you.

Giovanni Vallejo: formulated it.

Trevor: Yeah. No, that's that's on me uh no i first so i did it a couple ways one i made uh whole nice website if you guys visited that which it seems like only like two of you did um Yeah.

Trevor: No shots, but it basically gives um you know a weight like quarterback is like 20 % running back wide receiver is like 30 % weighted tight end 10 bench 5 and same with defense and like So I went through that and I build out like who has the best running back room, quarterback room, all that to figure out, you know, where you kind of fall in the list of.

Trevor: relevance of teams. So I did all of that, but... At the end of the day, I said, fuck it and did it off a vibe. So that's what you're getting. you You're getting my vibes. list Maybe I'll refine it in the future to make it more. ah relevant, but right now you're getting the vibes and that's it.

Giovanni Vallejo: Andrew, you want to go next?

Andrew: yeah Honestly, I wanted to do the vibes list, but... It was extremely hard just trying to pick people in the middle of the pack because it was... much closer than i thought it was going to be so i developed a way to look at uh everybody's ranking so i ranked everybody's QB room, their wide receivers, their running backs and the tight ends.

Andrew: And if. Um... the best team i gave 14 points and then the worst team i gave one point

Trevor: okay

Andrew: um And then for wide receivers and running backs, I gave double the points. For QBs, I gave 1 .5 points. And then tight ends, I gave just one times the points. And then I added everything up and basically made my rankings from there and then tweaked a couple of things.

Giovanni Vallejo: uh for me i'm the og power anchor here but i honestly just completely went vibes based and like i like it took me like two three hours to like look through each team and like write down little three to four sentences but i just went completely vibe based so well like ah mine's not as technical as other two

Trevor: Bitch.

Trevor: um Two to three hours?

Giovanni Vallejo: Dude, it took me if like yeah, I'm looking through each squad like writing notes like comparing the squads

Trevor: I mean, but like...

Andrew: so it's it's mad hard i agree bro like it's so hard

Trevor: I guess that's right.

Giovanni Vallejo: it's Yeah, I thought it was super difficult.

Trevor: i I mean, the way i the the way I did it with my vibes is I pull up Two teams. and i put them you know side by side or on two different monitors and i look Right next to him, I'm like, all right, who has the better quarterback? Who has the better running back room? You know, and just. compare those literal two teams to each other and then Clearly there's like one better team.

Trevor: You're like, all right, that's number eight. And this is number six. And then you do that with the higher team again. And then you say, is this other team better than that team? and That's kind of how I'd build out my rankings from there. but

Giovanni Vallejo: I mean, yeah, I think that was the bigger issue, was having multiple monitors, though.

Trevor: And. That took me like... 45 minutes max.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'm just like i just like, I had it on one monitor and I'm like, this is a struggle.

Trevor: Damn, so you really are broke

Giovanni Vallejo: But either way. We don't want to take too many people's time, so let's look let's get down to it.

Trevor: Get it on your fucking Nintendo Switch.

Giovanni Vallejo: So we're going to start off 14 -1. So we're going to start off with the worst team. And just to clarify before we do this, guys, we I think we should just do the person's name, and I'll say like they're the name of their team because I have it up on my list right now.

Giovanni Vallejo: But let's say the person's name.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: At 14. All right. Three. Two. One. Kyler.

Trevor: Shiv!

Andrew: Yes. Oh!

Giovanni Vallejo: Oh, whoa.

Trevor: yeah

Andrew: Ohohoho I was not expecting that.

Trevor: dog what the fuck that's crazy cause like i don't I don't hate on Kyler like that. like i think

Giovanni Vallejo: I thought Kyle Osteen was really...

Trevor: All right, well.

Giovanni Vallejo: I have, just like before, I'll let you guys go first because you guys did it.

Trevor: I mean...

Giovanni Vallejo: I had Shiv at 12, so we'll see that at 12.

Trevor: Alright, so you're in the same range.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'm in the same, like, ballpark. but Give me your guys' defense for... ah him at last.

Trevor: I mean...

Giovanni Vallejo: I had him at 12.

Trevor: All right, well. uh hold on let me pull this team up real quick just so i can make fun of it here uh yeah like i mean i i don't hate his quarterback room like i think kyler murray is fine Um...

Trevor: But, you know, he took Kyler Murray in what, like the eighth? ninth round you'd expect the rest of his team to be fucking stacked if you waited that long on qb and he is Kyron Williams which I don't hate that's fine they're going to be winning they're going to be running But Rico Dowdle. is ridiculous paired with Jalen Warren.

Trevor: crazy You're going to have to pick a 50 -50 on that. JCM is... trash i hate i know you're a redskins fan he's a redskins fan so like maybe that's why our commander sorry gotta be pc around here Um,

Trevor: I think you're going he's going to end up playing J .K. Dobbins every week, which I don't hate. I just think he reached... crazy for jk dobbins he took him in like the fourth round or some shit So, I mean...

Andrew: I agree.

Trevor: I hate the running backs.

Andrew: like I hate the running backs. And then not only that, I also hate his wide receivers. I love Amon Ross St. Brown. And then...

Trevor: ah

Andrew: Amiga Buka is... um like I think he's a great pick, but at the same time, I have no idea what his toe injury is. And if it's turf toe and he's dealing with that the whole season, he's super screwed.

Giovanni Vallejo: You know something? Yeah.

Andrew: And then his next two receivers are Stephon Diggs and Caleb Douglas.

Trevor: That's what I'm saying.

Andrew: like Caleb Douglas is like, even if... that he's their wide receiver one they're just not going to be scoring like that And Stefan Diggs, I think is nice.

Trevor: that's it

Andrew: And I just, and I think he was wide receiver 28 last year, but I just don't see like the upside of him being anything better than like wide receiver 25 to 20. Like, I just don't see it.

Trevor: At best, yeah, you're getting like. 10 to 12 points max every week from him.

Andrew: Yeah, i really and then like his running back room makes no sense today. J .K. Dobbins gets hurt within the first five weeks of the season, almost every season.

Trevor: That was ridiculous.

Andrew: Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle, you're you're like banking on a committee. And I really like Kyron Williams this year, but. I think like they're still running risk there without drafting like Blake Horn. So it was just a tough team for me, honestly.

Trevor: Yeah.

Andrew: to to really get behind.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: I will say, like I feel like after some of your points, I agree. I think... My major major point was, though, like... I didn't think the Regal Dowdle pick or the Jalen Warren pick would be bad. as long as he didn't have both, it kind of like ruins the whole entire purpose.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'm like, those are two decent quarterbacks that have a few that were on two different teams, but like having them on the same team makes it just so redundant.

Andrew: yeah

Giovanni Vallejo: I was a little higher on his like wide receiver. um like depth there. I have seen the reports about the turf toe, possibly with Emeka Ibuka. But besides that, if that's not as big of an issue as they're making it seem, then I still think it's a good pick for this year.

Giovanni Vallejo: And I still i personally think Stefan Diggs could have a decent year. Like, I don't know. his His ADP has been kind of rocking up a little bit in the past week or so.

Trevor: name

Giovanni Vallejo: But let's let's keep it going.

Trevor: I mean... i don't i don't hate the the wide receiver i just feel like abuka plays what the x or whatever on the outside and it's like everyone knows in this league like slot is king so it's like Hard to say.

Trevor: how they're gonna do like i still think he is the second best wide receiver room but among you know Who else you can pick? I don't know. It's kind of trash.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah. I mean...

Trevor: I digress.

Giovanni Vallejo: I mean, last thing, I mean, I guess who's the other, I'm like blanking. Who are the other receivers for the Buccaneers right now?

Trevor: The Bucks have Chris Godwin.

Andrew: Chris Godwin and

Giovanni Vallejo: Chris Godwin? Like, old -ass Chris Godwin?

Trevor: you got tez johnson yeah you got you're right a bunch of like unproven rookies and people but yeah

Andrew: I, I.

Andrew: Galen McMillan.

Giovanni Vallejo: Jalen McMillan, like, tight end, tight end.

Andrew: I...

Trevor: And they're hurt, but...

Giovanni Vallejo: Like, there's not a lot there.

Trevor: Yeah. Yeah. No.

Giovanni Vallejo: But...

Andrew: I agree, but I also think people are forgetting how good Chris Godwin was before his injury, and it's the year after his injury, and I feel like it's always the year after.

Trevor: For sure.

Trevor: Yeah.

Andrew: wide receivers are better.

Trevor: But in that same vein, though, they're without Liam Cohen.

Andrew: um I don't think he's going to take a huge...

Trevor: You know?

Andrew: Yeah, like I...

Trevor: I feel like that was a huge fill.

Andrew: i But I still really like a Mika Buka if he's healthy. like i'm ah that's like so

Trevor: Yeah, that's fair He did look really good at the beginning of the year last year.

Andrew: Yeah, it really just depends but I'd like to hear why you think Kyler was the worst team

Giovanni Vallejo: Okay, yeah, so ah let me pull it up right now. So I was i just i put up i pulled up number 13, but... 14? Based off my notes right now, I said his RB depth was horrendous.

Giovanni Vallejo: Like, I'm...

Trevor: Oh. trash.

Giovanni Vallejo: like I just don't think you can have a successful year with like what his running backs were. Like... I like, let me pull up the team right now. Where was it? The Shima Conkey. Yeah. Give me a second.

Giovanni Vallejo: So I have... His RB2 is Woody Marks right now. Like... i just still like i don't like I don't understand how you don't have him at the bottom of the standings like with that as his RB2. I don't even love his receivers that much. like like Is McConkie going to be actually elite?

Giovanni Vallejo: He had an amazing rookie year. Sophomore season was very mediocre. I understand he's wide receiver one, but like I don't know. Justin Herbert's going to be airing out to like the whole entire offense. And like DK Metcalf's not that great.

Giovanni Vallejo: What what was he? like Probably around... 15 to 20 wide receiver last year like I just don't love the squad like even like DJ Moore is he gonna be that guy in Buffalo I don't know the only thing I love about this team is like Saquon Barkley and Dak Prescott.

Giovanni Vallejo: Besides the whole entire rest of it, like you can just throw it in the trash for me. respectfully.

Andrew: but no No, that's totally fair, honestly.

Trevor: I mean, I dont hate it.

Andrew: I could see that. think He was honestly, he was 13 for me. It wasn't like we were like far off.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah.

Andrew: like he he like I honestly just liked his wide receiver room.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah.

Andrew: more than you did.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah.

Andrew: I feel like Wyatt Rasheed Rice is going to be better. I feel like Ladd McConkie with Mike McDaniels is going to be better. ah DK Metcalf, I could care less about, honestly. But DJ Moore, I feel like, is going to be good with Josh Allen.

Andrew: um I would be really surprised, especially with. the joe brady connection from the Panthers when he had his 1 ,000 -yard season. So I really feel like DJ Moore could be good this year.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep.

Andrew: But I could totally see, like Jalen Coker I also think is a pretty good wide receiver too. like Like. throw and Michael Wilson I think is also a good throw even though I don't love either of them. So I totally see it though. Cause like, I agree. I looked at this running back room and I was like, I don't even know what I'm supposed to think about this. Like after Saquon Barkley.

Giovanni Vallejo: I will say...

Andrew: I think it's just the the opposite of Shibs, like, where, like, I like the Shibs wide receivers. but I ate it as Arby's and like, it's like. It's the same thing here, and I just like his wide receivers more.

Giovanni Vallejo: The last thing I'll say is I will say people have been hyping up Tyler Algier a little bit, especially since like Love's injured.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: He's always kind of stole some work from... Bijan in Atlanta he's not a bad running back so like maybe that can be like a viable RB for him the first couple like one through three weeks but like besides that like i just I'm struggling to see. where he gets like a better RB room in the future. Like, yeah, I don't know.

Giovanni Vallejo: Any last minute last last -second saw thoughts, Trevor?

Trevor: I mean, i I hear what you guys are saying, but I think i mean he's higher in my rankings because... I do like his wide receiver room and maybe that's, you know. a little uh out there we'll get to it when i uh tell you my range but i think yeah i

Giovanni Vallejo: No, I mean... But. That's fun.

Trevor: I realize everyone has dog shit running back. So if you have the Saquon of the world, and then if Woody Marks gets you five to 10 points, yeah, it's going to fucking suck. but you know the rest of his squad's gonna put up good 12, 15, 20 points a week. So I'm like, I can i can see it. so Not my favorite, but yeah, he's definitely... higher than 14. I know Andrew, you said he was your 13. So.

Trevor: a transition from that geo Who you got?

Andrew: Yeah, so

Giovanni Vallejo: Yes. For 13, should we do the 3 -2 -1 countdown again or no?

Trevor: Yeah, we'll bust it down. Yeah, just you and me because Andrew kind of...

Giovanni Vallejo: Alright.

Trevor: All right, ready?

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah. Alright.

Andrew: Marvel.

Trevor: Three two one

Giovanni Vallejo: Three, two, one, Nick.

Trevor: Rich.

Andrew: Hmm. Yeah, that's totally fair.

Trevor: Oh.

Giovanni Vallejo: Wait, you said rich?

Trevor: Yeah, I got rich.

Giovanni Vallejo: Wow.

Andrew: That's crazy to me.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's crazy.

Andrew: That I actually...

Trevor: Bye. I mean... I... I think in my... defensive bridge. I think he's a really solid team and Kenneth Walker, Omari and Hampton. Those two are going to fucking eat.

Trevor: Patrick Mahomes probably will be pretty decent coming off his. ah ACL year, whatever. But like, he's not running. And then his fucking wide receivers just pissed me the fuck off. but What are you doing with T Higgins, Jamison Williams? Those are my two like landmine picks that like ruin a fantasy season.

Trevor: Like T Higgins. Sure. He's good. and you know the bangles but like i don't i don't see it i think he's You know, like, you know, looking at his stats from last year, he had a couple games of like 29, 24, but like.

Trevor: A lot of the games are kind of trash. And sure, he was hurt, but... Same with Jamison Williams. is like He's a deep threat, and that's all he's ever been. I've been hearing a lot of stuff about, like oh, this is his breakout year. and like Yeah, he did have a good back half of last year, but I don't.

Trevor: I don't see it. I fucking hate it. And old ass Mike Evans too. God damn. That motherfucker

Giovanni Vallejo: That's crazy.

Andrew: This is a - Crazy take for me, I'm not gonna lie.

Giovanni Vallejo: what Wait, yeah, wait, yeah. i don't i don't Don't say your spot, Andrew, either. but like

Andrew: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: Are you like top five, top ten for him? like i have I'm going to say right now. I'm not going to say the exact spot. I have him top five.

Trevor: Damn.

Giovanni Vallejo: I have rich top five.

Andrew: I... I didn't have him that high, but I did have him top 10. Like, I thought his team was pretty good. Like I thought it was a decent team.

Trevor: I just... It's just the wide receivers for me. I think like. I can't get behind these backup -ass wide receivers. They just piss me the fuck off.

Andrew: But that's a crazy take to me because t T. Higgins was... great last year and I thought I had him last year.

Giovanni Vallejo: Uh huh. Yep.

Andrew: Like he was great. And like, he was Whenever he was out, I think he played 14 games.

Trevor: Yeah. Fair.

Andrew: It was tough, but like whenever he played, he was good. Even if um Joe Burrow doesn't play for the season, he was still playing good with Joe Flacco. And then Jamison Williams is going to be on an insane offense where he I think he finished wide receiver 11th.

Trevor: i guess but

Andrew: And. The Lions have the easiest schedule in the league. And then Mike Evans, I agree, Mike Evans is only going to play 13 games. But those 13 games he's going to play, he's probably going to have a touchdown every single game.

Trevor: oh

Andrew: And.

Trevor: but My thing is like they don't run through these players.

Andrew: I really like his backup running back, too.

Giovanni Vallejo: Well, ah that that was my biggest point.

Andrew: And...

Trevor: Amen.

Giovanni Vallejo: his His running back room is probably like one of the best in the whole league.

Trevor: Mm -mm.

Giovanni Vallejo: Like, even the...

Andrew: I... I...

Trevor: Oh for sure.

Giovanni Vallejo: And that's king right now. it's like there's there's There's a drought at running back. like But like getting Kenneth Walker with Marion Hampton, I thought that was amazing. People were saying Kenneth Walker is going to be RB top five this year. like I don't believe that, but that's what people think with the Kansas City offense.

Andrew: And then...

Giovanni Vallejo: andy reid

Andrew: Yeah. And then not only that, he also has Tony Pollard and Kenny Gainwell, which I think are really solid to just keep on your bench, honestly.

Giovanni Vallejo: uh -huh

Andrew: I thought he had the best way running back room, straight up. Like, when I was doing rankings, like... He had my favorite running back room out of everybody.

Giovanni Vallejo: The...

Trevor: Damn.

Giovanni Vallejo: The last point I'll make... Last couple of two points is, I mean, also, like, yes, Mike Evans is injury -prone. He had a bit down year last year. But, I mean, like, if he's right receiver one on a San Fran offense, like, I think he can kind of come back and have, like, at least in a 1 ,000 -yard season, like, five to seven tutties.

Giovanni Vallejo: I don't know. I would have wanted Mike Evans where wherever he got him around the draft. And I think he has a couple of decent dart throws in there, even at running wide receiver. like Like, Romeo Dobbs, he got signed to his big contract with the Patriots, like...

Giovanni Vallejo: they' They obviously want to use him. Trey Tucker

Trevor: I hate that.

Giovanni Vallejo: Dart throw like he's gonna be wide receiver one on a shitty Raiders offense But you never know they're gonna be down a lot like I'm just I I genuinely like the whole team besides the quarterback Whatever like I thought I'm surprised by that by you Trevor

Trevor: Damn.

Andrew: Yeah, but um but my thing but my thing is is that also Jared Goff is always always a qbi top ten QB.

Trevor: The king of consistency, yeah.

Andrew: qb And he literally is has the easiest schedule in the league this year. like I think Jared Goff getting him, I don't even know why he has Patrick Mahomes on his team, honestly. I feel like he should just start gar Jared Goff and pick up somebody else off the waiver wire. because I genuinely think Jared Goff is going to have a top seven. QB season easily and honestly with how much they're going to be throwing the ball as well with their new offensive coordinator.

Trevor: Damn.

Giovanni Vallejo: um So...

Trevor: Patrick Mahomes is about to have two good -ass games, and then he's going to trade -rape Geo for him. Thank you, Patrick Mahomes.

Giovanni Vallejo: So we we... So we all we have we all had different 13s, right?

Trevor: Sorry.

Giovanni Vallejo: Let's just say it one last time.

Trevor: Yeah.

Andrew: yeah

Giovanni Vallejo: just ah I had Nick.

Andrew: Oh, yeah, you should go through Nick because we already went through Kyler.

Trevor: obviously I obviously had Rich.

Andrew: So let's go through Nick.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: Okay, give me one second. Everybody changed their team names recently.

Andrew: Good.

Trevor: I know. I'm trying to like bounce around and figure it out.

Andrew: He's Nuck if you buck.

Trevor: I'll give you buck.

Giovanni Vallejo: knock a few back

Trevor: Oh, because he's got bucky.

Giovanni Vallejo: All right, I'm going to go off my my my like list right now.

Trevor: Okay.

Giovanni Vallejo: Oh, I found it now. um So what I said is. but Based off my notes, I don't have the team in front of me. I was like, I feel like there's a lack of elite talent besides JT. There's a lot of projecting with this team, like Devonta Smith and Tyler Warren.

Trevor: ahead

Giovanni Vallejo: A lot has to pan out. Overall, the wide receiver and running back depth is isn't isn't horrible. Also, will the Colts' offense be that good this year post -Achilles tear for DJ? So, okay, I have the team up in front of me now but leah okay Aaron Jones Sr., he's kind of an irrelevant running back at this point.

Trevor: No.

Giovanni Vallejo: Matthew Golden... People thought thought he was going to have a good rookie year. He kind of did jack shit, so i mean like you're kind of just hoping he does take a step up. And then Devonta Smith, i'm I'm obviously a huge Eagles fan, but like I think the the biggest question comes down to, and the people were saying, oh, revamped offense, and this, that, Jalen Hurts, they're going to kill it this year, but is Jalen Hurts going to put up passing numbers?

Giovanni Vallejo: like He had A .J. Brown before Devonta Smith.

Trevor: I'm holding.

Giovanni Vallejo: He had all these different options. like like they took they like who Who's his wide receiver two? like Who's going to take away attention from Devonta Smith? Like, Makai Lemon? He's been cooked all...

Trevor: Okay, lemon.

Giovanni Vallejo: He's been cooked all preseason. Dallas Goddard.

Trevor: He sucks.

Giovanni Vallejo: I don't know. I'm a little worried about this team. Bucky Irving, like you were talking about earlier, Andrew, like Kenneth Gainwell just signed it. Like they signed him to a decent contract for running back. So it's like that competition is there.

Giovanni Vallejo: So I'm just kind of like, I was kind of worried about this whole team. Like even Tyler Warren. not to hate on anybody but like like to be he had other keeper values that I thought was better and to get Tyler Warren as a fourth round like he better pan out and be a number one tight end this year like he better if you're gonna do that and use that as your keeper when you could have gotten better value i think that I think that was ridiculous.

Trevor: That's fair.

Andrew: and No, I agree.

Trevor: That's not ridiculous to say.

Andrew: Honestly, so... Alright. i I had him at... um Wealth. Um,

Giovanni Vallejo: Okay, so somewhere.

Andrew: I think. I like, like super similar. I think like all the points that you had, like Bucky Irving, I'm pretty scared about. Jonathan Taylor, I think is going to be great. Bo Nix, I actually think is going to have a good season. i don't see why not um i think it's an easier schedule and i think you're just going to be better but then you start going down the list and like Bucky Irving, I really don't know about.

Andrew: Devonta Smith, I actually think is going to be a wide receiver one this year. I don't see why he wouldn't be. I understand like...

Trevor: Bucky?

Andrew: Uh, DeFonta Smith.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's about it.

Andrew: Like, I think he's going to be a wide receiver.

Trevor: Oh, Devonta. My bad. Alright, yeah, that's fair.

Andrew: Yeah, but um Matthew Golden, like... that is your wide receiver too is really really spooky like that's that is crazy like

Giovanni Vallejo: and Insane.

Andrew: I think I would rather start Khalil Shakir over him, and that's like a... you're getting nine points every week and that's it. And like.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's generous.

Andrew: I just don't see

Trevor: If that, yeah.

Andrew: Yeah, like, i I think I'm really just not seeing the upside with this team. And I feel like the floor is somewhat there, but it's also just a really shaky team in terms of like...

Trevor: Right on the floor.

Andrew: where it can go honestly yeah that's kind of where i'm at like

Trevor: than hell.

Andrew: I just don't know how this team... does well like what like everybody basically has to pop and like whose's what what What flex does he have that might pop? like Maybe Jalen McMillan, but after that, like that's it.

Giovanni Vallejo: mm -hmm Maybe. Yeah. it's the I mean, yeah, I think he's definitely a bottom. like Two to three teams. We'll see. Maybe he proves us wrong. Let's move down to 12 now.

Giovanni Vallejo: Um... I might have already said mine already, but let let's let's still just do the three, two, one thing. Three. Two. One. Shiv.

Trevor: Nick.

Andrew: Look.

Giovanni Vallejo: Nick, all right.

Trevor: Yeah, so we both got naked 12

Andrew: Yeah, okay

Giovanni Vallejo: So.

Andrew: all right so yeah we all went through all of those so we got 11.

Giovanni Vallejo: We discussed those teams. I feel like, yeah, we we kind of all had them in the same ballpark. I think like so we all had like... pretty general ideas of where they would be at. Yeah, let's do 11 and we might do one more team, but let's just do 11 right now.

Andrew: Alright, let's do one more.

Giovanni Vallejo: Um, Three. Two. One, Alex.

Trevor: Gio!

Andrew: Chris.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's crazy That, I don't...

Andrew: Wow. All right.

Trevor: Damn, dog. I don't know I'm just...

Giovanni Vallejo: That is crazy.

Andrew: Oh. I'm not gonna lie, that is crazy. I cannot believe you have a video there.

Giovanni Vallejo: I don't even have myself high.

Trevor: That is up I think.

Giovanni Vallejo: But like...

Trevor: i'm gonna be honest with you i think you were one of those ones that like i went back and looked at um and i was like oh this one's i'm just gonna drop you a little lower oh i don't know i'm gonna drop you a little lower i think it's just like Because Justin Herbert, sure, he's going to ball James Cook.

Trevor: I think he's going to have a good year. But again, i I do worry he had a fuckload of touchdowns last year that he's probably not getting again. And Josh Allen's also a leech in there. I don't like to move.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah, he's on a dynamic offense though

Trevor: Bye. I know, which is he is going to score and like the bills are going to be winning. So it's like, I can't hate on James. I think that's a great hit pick, but.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's crazy, I can't believe the disrespect

Trevor: I fucking... I hate Chubba Hubbard. I think he fucking blows. I don't really like. the Carolina offense at all. And I know I say this coming from a guy with Jonathan Brooks on his team, but I fucking hate it.

Trevor: um Malik neighbors. I'm fine with, I am super high on Malik neighbors. I think he low -key has like top five potential this year. But. Nico Collins fucking blows. Tep McMillan. Again, I said I hate Carolina.

Trevor: Maserati Marv. Might be better, but, like, again. on what a dog shit team and yeah they'll probably throw more but like still like I don't love your it's just very mediocre and like I don't hate it, but, like, I think there are other teams with more upside going forward.

Giovanni Vallejo: Fair. I mean... How do you call it? Uh... um I'll just say where I had myself at. I didn't have myself like i had myself at 9, which we'll get to in the next podcast.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: but i mean i didn't like I will say the only thing I hated about my team was the RB room. Essentially, I love my wide receiver room. I'll say that right now. like like Nico Collins, even when he played last year, besides the injury, he he had good games.

Giovanni Vallejo: like Hopefully CJ shroud can have a bounce back.

Andrew: Honestly, a hold on, Gio. Gio, I'll come to your defense. Because honestly, I thought you had a pretty decent team, if I'm being completely honest.

Giovanni Vallejo: if Yeah

Trevor: I don't think it's bad.

Andrew: I, like...

Giovanni Vallejo: So at 11th, crazy.

Andrew: I think James could...

Trevor: All right.

Andrew: James Cook, I think...

Trevor: Maybe that was a little.

Andrew: I think the James Cook comparison to saying Josh Allen always takes away his take TDs when he consistently scores 15 to 18 touchdowns a year is... crazy like i think he's been consistently to like

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep. yep

Trevor: ah That is fair.

Andrew: It's a word. um in that range and i like That's fair. I think afterwards it gets really tough. like I think Travion Henderson is... It's probably going to be starting in that Chuba Hubbard role.

Andrew: Honestly, I think Jonathan Brooks is kind of overhyped and Chuba Hubbard might just be the starting back again, if I'm being completely honest.

Giovanni Vallejo: awesome

Trevor: Oh, I agree. But like and I just hate them.

Andrew: But... i think I think RJ harvey i think rre Harvey is actually a really good pick.

Trevor: No.

Andrew: like i I think it's crazy that like people were forgetting that he had 10 touchdowns last year.

Trevor: Hate it.

Andrew: and he actually was a big ah a decent part, not a big, but a decent part about the offense. And JT Domins usually gets hurt within the first five weeks.

Giovanni Vallejo: Mm -hmm.

Andrew: And like, everybody's really excited about Jonah Coleman, but I mean, RJ Harvey is still there and he's still a really good patch catcher.

Trevor: But I'm saying, why would they draft Jonah Coleman if you have RJ? You know what I mean? Like if you have the backup. And they took Coleman in what, like the third round? fourth round like he was up higher traffic.

Andrew: Because they're planning for J .K. Dobbins to be like gone after this year because he gets injured every year.

Giovanni Vallejo: okay

Trevor: ah Sure.

Andrew: like i mean I don't know.

Trevor: But I didn't think RJ Harvey was all that impressive last year. Yeah. You said he had 10 touchdowns, but like he was only in there for the receiving work. And it felt, I mean, maybe this is just off.

Giovanni Vallejo: And he was good at the receiving work, though.

Trevor: Let me keep it. But like. No, he was.

Giovanni Vallejo: yeah on On a champagne offense, too?

Trevor: I 100 % agree.

Giovanni Vallejo: Oh, okay. All I'll say is like, yeah, I have myself barely top 10, but I think there's a lot to work with on my team.

Trevor: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Giovanni Vallejo: Even like, like Andrew saying with Chuba Hubbard, like is Jonathan Brooks going to be able to stay healthy all year?

Trevor: I agree.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'm not saying he's going to be a dynamic running back Chuba Hubbard.

Trevor: No.

Giovanni Vallejo: He's never been a dynamic running back, but can he give me like a. Top 25, top 20 season? Maybe. And, like, there's some dart throws. I i will say... I definitely took Travion Henderson too early, but I did start to panic with how the running backs were starting to look at that point in the draft.

Trevor: I know. That's fair.

Giovanni Vallejo: But I just got to hope. like I think there's a lot of situations where like... Let's say if Romandri decides to fumble three times in one game like he does sometimes, like will they give Trevion Henderson some tick?

Giovanni Vallejo: like I think there's a chance for him to have. maybe a breakout year in the second half. Like he has a talent. He just wasn't a good run blocker. And like, he was kind of in the variable doghouse, but I think there's a lot of potential there, even with the, I think you were hating on Nico Collins and even like Malik neighbors.

Trevor: i know

Giovanni Vallejo: Like I thought.

Andrew: I gotta say, I just thought - I just thought -

Trevor: I love Malik neighbors. I just hate Nico Collins.

Andrew: I just... I just thought Geo had... honestly, probably the best wide receiver room. or this at least first, second, or third.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's what I thought too, yeah.

Andrew: like i I thought it was top three for wide receiver room.

Trevor: i I think that's time that's crazy.

Andrew: At least. like I think it's crazy ah to to say that.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah.

Trevor: Maybe I'm just...

Andrew: uh I don't know, like, the the hate...

Trevor: Because I think neighbors...

Andrew: When Tedderall McMillan is your wide receiver three, like that's kind of wild in my eyes, if I'm being probably completely honest.

Trevor: Yeah, I guess. You can't be mad about it. You're right.

Giovanni Vallejo: as As a rookie, he dropped over 1 ,000 yards and like I think it was seven tutties.

Trevor: I just... Sure.

Giovanni Vallejo: And he he was like an elite prospect, so i mean like I just feel like he's going to improve.

Andrew: Yeah, and like, I don't like Marvin Harrison Jr.

Trevor: No, I mean, I definitely, I think he will do good, but like. i don't know i just hate carolina

Giovanni Vallejo: Last thing I'll say, so we'll get to other teams, is...

Andrew: We'll see. All right, we're we're debating this too much. Yeah

Giovanni Vallejo: a neighbors though I'm like obviously the injury is the the concern but like if he comes back and he looks like how like he used to like

Trevor: No, he's top tier.

Giovanni Vallejo: that's yeah That's a top five hour receiver right there.

Trevor: Yeah. Yeah, 100%.

Giovanni Vallejo: Like... The picks there is because of the risk of injury, but like he's there.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: What was your 11, Andrew?

Trevor: um

Andrew: ah that ah My 11 was at Kevin's team.

Giovanni Vallejo: Really?

Trevor: Heaven, damn, all right.

Andrew: I was... um

Giovanni Vallejo: Rude.

Andrew: I think I wanted to switch that around, though, and and I think I had i put ah Chris instead, honestly.

Trevor: I don't know

Andrew: I felt like it was between Chris and Kevin for me for the next spot, but I thought...

Trevor: Hmm.

Andrew: um I was not the biggest fan of uh for his team, if I'm being completely honest. um I think this is just like a theme where...

Andrew: it It might work out, but a lot of it feels like it's really not going to work out. Like Brock Brady, I think is a good QB. I think he's like a top 10 QB, which is fine. But then like Ashton Gentry, I have no idea what that injury is.

Andrew: um hopefully it's fine and even if he is like an rb like top 10 rb like Camp Scataboo, I'm sorry, but like I don't see him finishing the season. Um... I'm a Giants fan and watching watching him play is legitimately and so scary because it feels like he's going to get injured every five seconds.

Trevor: That's crazy.

Andrew: and you can just tell he's already on John Auerbach's nerves so I really just I'm wondering about that.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep. yep

Andrew: And. Going to his wide receivers, like... Drake London, Devontae Adams, Roma Dunze. Roma Dunze, I really like. Devontae Adams, I think, is going to regress, obviously, with TDs. And I just, he was really relying on TDs last year and we'll see if.

Andrew: you know. they're going to be throwing as much on the one yard line or they're going to really just be hammering at home with Blake Corum. And then Drake London, like... I'm sorry, but like, even if Penix is throwing, like I don't know how many weeks you can even get out of Penix.

Andrew: And then if Tua's throwing, he's looked awful during the preseason. So like this wide receiver room is just really tough for me. And then his running backs are just. also really tough for me i mean like after those two it's like manung guy and Najee Harris.

Andrew: i i don't know i'm just i'm just i was just really not feeling this team if i'm being completely honest

Giovanni Vallejo: Interesting. All I'll say is because we've gone a little long and we've decided already just impromptu that we're going to do two more podcasts to do the next five and the final five, the top five. All I'll say is that I have Chris. He's going to be on the last podcast.

Giovanni Vallejo: For me.

Andrew: Wow

Trevor: Damn, that's crazy to say. What's the last podcast?

Giovanni Vallejo: Is it?

Andrew: Wow

Giovanni Vallejo: That's...

Andrew: All right, Gio, Gio, you need to stop spoiling your top five.

Trevor: No, I'm just playing. He's he's in that same...

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah, right, right Trevor?

Trevor: Uh, Rhett Bane. I think he's got a top five team, for sure.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah! ah yeah Yeah, I think he's top five. um But i'm that's surprising to me. like I'm surprised none of you... You guys liked... Because my 11th is Alex Harlan. You guys liked his team?

Trevor: Yeah, I liked Alex.

Andrew: No, we're...

Trevor: I mean, better better than 11th.

Andrew: I'm in, like, the same... range honestly, but um why did you why did you feel like why did you feel that he was there

Trevor: No, I mean, yeah, I'm not far off. ah Head is out, but...

Giovanni Vallejo: I guess it kind of comes down to like everybody has their preferences and stuff like that, but I think my main notes right now are his wide receiver 2 kind of stinks. I'm pulling up his team right now. And the flex bot kind of stinks.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: like they those Yeah, okay, I'm looking at his team right now. His wide receiver 2 is Wondell Robinson.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: Like... That's not a serious team right there. If your number one receiver two is Wanda Robinson.

Trevor: No. Well, and like.

Giovanni Vallejo: and his His next best receiver after that, it's...

Andrew: time

Giovanni Vallejo: Jacoby Myers? Bless you.

Trevor: Yeah, I mean, he was low -key balling last year, but no, I hear you.

Andrew: Thank you.

Trevor: Well, I thought as well he was a bit low. I mean... we'll get to eventually when it comes around, but like. I thought Chris Olave was going to start losing work to Jordan Tyson, but then Jordan Tyson being out for... i don't know four weeks or whatever ah kind of benefits him, but I i still hate. Chris Olave, Wanda Robinson. Dogshit wide receiver room.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah, I mean...

Andrew: yeah Honestly, I see exactly what you're saying. Honestly, I don't even know. how I didn't have him. before um Chris, I feel like it's like really interesting talking through this because after talking through this, I have like a...

Trevor: but he's close

Andrew: completely different outlook on some of these teams because like looking at this team now i'm like i don't even know what i was thinking like putting in where I had them.

Trevor: No, for sure

Andrew: Because, like, Wondell as a wide receiver, too, is absolutely... fucking nus Like that is that is...

Giovanni Vallejo: That's insane.

Trevor: That's ridiculous.

Andrew: That is crazy. Like, I don't even...

Giovanni Vallejo: I feel like, I feel like I'll say is like, I really valued them.

Andrew: I don't

Giovanni Vallejo: Like if you don't have a viable wide receiver. Two or running back to the like you're kind of cooked like most people will have that it's like the depth is horrible But like he's my receiver to his wand Dale fucking Robinson.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: Like are we serious right now? Like how is he like that Trevor? you tre Oh my god

Andrew: i i I honestly am also confused how this happened because this was like his keeper so like I don't like did he just not drop like did he just not like draft?

Trevor: Was that?

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah.

Trevor: Oh my god, brother.

Andrew: Like I don't understand.

Trevor: What the fuck are you doing?

Giovanni Vallejo: All soon.

Andrew: like I'm just curious like

Trevor: First round CMC.

Giovanni Vallejo: that's Last couple points because we're getting close to 30 minutes is that

Trevor: the fuck Looking at your lineup, what the fuck happened around... Two through seven. Like, who did you take round two? What the fuck? This team is ridiculous.

Giovanni Vallejo: Dude, that's what I'm saying. The last couple of things I'll say is like he has a couple shots there, like KC Concepcion. I kind of like it.

Trevor: i like that i like that a lot

Giovanni Vallejo: like They're saying he might be decent this year. But like, even like... like He's on the same boat as me with the bestest flex with Romandre Stevenson. it's like Who's going to like actually get more work?

Trevor: Yes.

Giovanni Vallejo: Travion and Romandre. And then after that, it's like... Tajay Spears, Dylan Sampson. There's not, I just, I'm i'm finding a hard time finding a lot to like. even The last point I'll make is that I like Chris Olave, but like I'm always concerned about the concussions.

Giovanni Vallejo: That's all. He's played a decent amount of games in the last couple of years.

Trevor: Oh yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: he's He's a great receiver, but that scares me.

Andrew: Doug, I'm looking back at this draft and he... draft Chris Olave and then doesn't draft the wide receiver until seven.

Trevor: Was it a lot like round two?

Andrew: Like I just. Yeah. And then like, I just don't.

Trevor: The fuck was he picking up in one round three through six? Because that's like wide receiver central.

Andrew: I just.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'm just saying. He probably stuck picking George Kittle at third.

Trevor: What the hell

Giovanni Vallejo: Nah, JK, he didn't do that. I'll just run a draw.

Trevor: And the fourth, and the fourth.

Giovanni Vallejo: no but My thing is, that last is that I'll say, is like if you pick Chris Olave, who you know gets injured all the time, like I'd probably make sure to get another bedrock receiver like right after that, just in case.

Trevor: I'm fucking...

Andrew: No, you're you're asking for it.

Trevor: That's all right, though. when

Andrew: Like, I agree.

Trevor: When Olave goes down, he's got Jawan Johnson in the background.

Andrew: Guys?

Giovanni Vallejo: All right. so That was the rankings for 14 through 11.

Andrew: Crazy. All right. ah How about we um let's ah just re -say our 14 through 11.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep.

Andrew: That's all everyone knows.

Giovanni Vallejo: Okay.

Trevor: Yeah, I've seen it. I mean, I've been tracking him, but I got me and Andrew both have Shiv. as 14 geo is kyler right

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep. Yep.

Trevor: 13. Andrew, did you have Kyler?

Andrew: How about we each go through it? ah each of ours because I feel like it's super confusing if you go through it.

Trevor: All right. Yeah, that's, yeah, you're so right. I had 14 for me with Shiv. 13 was Rich. Got a little pushback there. Yikes. 12 was Nick. And then 11th, I had our glorious, glorious commissioner, Gio.

Giovanni Vallejo: The Wild. Andrew, go.

Andrew: Um... I feel so bad. that I had at 14.

Giovanni Vallejo: and

Andrew: kyler at 13th nick at 12 and chris at eleventh But I must say, I think i think the Chris one is definitely wrong. After i a reviewing that part... that um that

Trevor: Chris or Kevin? I thought you said Kevin.

Andrew: um No, I said Chris, ah ah but I have. after reviewing like no i think that's completely wrong

Giovanni Vallejo: Okay.

Trevor: Maybe.

Giovanni Vallejo: I'll do mine. ah mine was a Kyler 14. Nick at 13. ah Shiv at 12, and then Alex Harlan at 11.

Trevor: Yeah.

Giovanni Vallejo: So...

Andrew: Yeah, honestly, I think I like Shiv's...

Trevor: That's fair.

Andrew: um i mean i think i like geo's rankings the best so far for being completely honest

Giovanni Vallejo: Appreciate that.

Trevor: I... Definitely think, yeah, we both had a couple like. Rich and Chris, I think, definitely skew us. gee I think these probably are the four worst teams in Alex, Shiv, Nick, and Kyler.

Giovanni Vallejo: yeah they I was honestly surprised by you guys for some of those.

Andrew: Yeah, I think Gio's right so far.

Giovanni Vallejo: like yeah like the i like Like you guys were talking about the chris and the Chris one really threw me off. I'm like... I was like, he has a decent team compared to like some of these like bottom four ones. I'm like... I just didn't even think they were comparable.

Trevor: Yeah.

Andrew: I think i I relied on, like, the point system too much, and, like, I should have, like, just reviewed.

Trevor: Yeah, that's fair.

Giovanni Vallejo: you

Andrew: like wait like where's everything because like even if like he was he was basically like in when i'm looking back at points he was like middle of the pack for everything but that just kind of means he has like a pretty well decent balanced team, in my opinion. So like, I think you're completely right that Chris definitely has a stronger team. and or Alex Harlan's team is, I don't even know what that is. So.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yep.

Trevor: It's funny, though, because, like, i I told you I was doing mine off of vibes, but, like... I also did the points ranking as well through that a website with like the weighted and my bottom four, Nick, Rich, Shiv, and Alex. So like.

Trevor: similar to what I have but ah slightly different. Geo, you got a a bit of a boost. you know You're not my bottom four if I go off of points and not vibes.

Giovanni Vallejo: Yeah, you might have to update, but ah we we're going to end it.

Trevor: So you know.

Giovanni Vallejo: We'll end up editing some of this stuff out. I'll end up editing it out. But all I'll say is that there was some... My my power rankings did adjust post... ah Josh Jacobs like NFL exemption list, and like you dropped a decent amount from that, which we'll see in the next podcast.

Trevor: Yeah.

Trevor: Bro, I was number one. What do you mean?

Giovanni Vallejo: you were not number one, but ah thank you guys for listening. And we're going to be dropping another one in the next week or so. And then we'll do the final one before the season starts.

Andrew: All right. Sounds good to see you guys.

Trevor: Later bitches.

Giovanni Vallejo: Alright, peace out.
