Major Boxing Event Preview

00:06:15
Speaker
Gentlemen. Wow, what a card we have this weekend. We're going to go through each of the fights, give our predictions, but first let's just get a little bit of ah thoughts about how huge of a card this is that Turkey Al-Azizik has put together. Cleber D, start us off.
00:06:32
Speaker
Well, Turkey, he's like the positive emperor. You know what I'm saying? No, you know what? Scratch that. He is Luke Skywalker bringing balance to the force. That's what he is, okay? He's the chosen one to bring boxing back to where it needs to be. Because I'm to talk about a PBC fighter on his card and a his lack of fights in the last four years, opposed to somebody that's on Rockman Turkey, Al-Sheik, who's been fighting a lot more, okay? He wants to bring the big fighters, fight the big fighters.
00:06:58
Speaker
No more of this me paying $80 watching... watching Gervonta Davis, you know, as ah somebody on the panel would say, um go margarita hunting. You know what I'm saying? so we we bob you don't talk So we're trying to see the good fighters fight the best. The best fight the good, good fight the good, whatever.
00:07:18
Speaker
But Turkey on a sheet is bringing balance to the force of boxing.
00:07:23
Speaker
That's all I got. don't know if Omar's stuck. I think he's stuck. But, Papa, you go next. Well, we're um you know, I'm always happy to see any type of fight. It doesn't even matter if it's just boxing. But particularly, you know, as as it pertains to boxing, um I do like what, you know, Turkey and those guys ah have done for the sport. It seems like they've infused some energy with the show and the total aspect of it all.
00:07:48
Speaker
um um definitely I'm definitely digging that. But at the end of the day, I'm a, you know, I'm an indigenous North American and I'm not trying to see Saudi take over our product. You feel me? So I'm going be over here loving the fights, but hoping some of them straps come on back over to this side of the water because we ain't going out like that.
00:08:10
Speaker
you'll see Hey, Josh. I'm with ah Ernest Derrick Turkey might end up being Darth Vader. Don't get at me, Turkey. Don't get at me. You know what I'm saying? But ah no, I'm good happy to see it. You know, it's a takeover.
00:08:24
Speaker
And hey, we are getting the fights we want to see. They're paying the money. And we'll see how it all ends up. But right now, so all is good. You know, boxing's on the up and up. I will say that.
00:08:37
Speaker
Well, I mean. Doesn't Turkey have, he's going have a match room. He has a match room. Queensberry, soon to be top rank, who's leaving ah ESPN. And he bought DAZN

Heavyweight Match Analysis: Cabayel vs. Zhang

00:08:48
Speaker
Boxing.
00:08:49
Speaker
And Queensberry, Golden Boy. he has Golden Boy also. So the only thing misses is PBC. So, yeah. He's Thanos. He's Thanos right My man has bread.
00:09:01
Speaker
He probably got some of the draws some of y'all aunties threw on the stage. You feel He got that type of money. So but yeah if y'all understand, to spend a billion dollars, you could spend $10,000 a day for 1,300 years. You got long money.
00:09:22
Speaker
I mean, Kid Austin's about to get a million for this fight. We'll talk about that later. Kid Austin's getting a million. And that's nothing. Nothing to him. Crazy. I mean, that money that he is throwing around to make sure that he gets these fights that the people want is crazy. But at the same time, I mean, it's awesome for us as boxing fans to be able to all these fights that we were talking about and wanting to see and no one could ever get it done.
00:09:48
Speaker
And he stepped in and said, no, no, no, no. Everybody. that He was like the million dollar man. Everybody got a price. You know what I mean? My thing is, and he's doing this and we're only paying $25.
00:10:00
Speaker
yeah I don't mind waking up or or going to the gym, watching this at 12 o'clock on Saturday morning. I don't mind doing that, okay? So $25, watch a beast card instead of watching, paying $80 for a non-title fight, which I loved two weeks ago, two or three weeks ago. So just saying.
00:10:17
Speaker
The fact that that fight was a non-title fight, it just blows my mind. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. well You're seeing a lot of that if Turkey take over, you know. Hopefully we don't to pay for it. That's the only thing.
00:10:30
Speaker
If it's like a you know back in the day, um like a Tuesday night fight or something on the zone, like a throwaway fight, I'll do that. But if he's going to charge us, he might have to turn on Turkey a little bit. um He did free our Saturday nights up, right?
00:10:44
Speaker
He did. and That's true. That is true. That's a plus. I love it. That's a plus. We definitely look forward to it. Hopefully, as as you as you said, we'll look forward to more of dream fight in the future.
00:10:55
Speaker
um He almost had one dream fight. We'll talk about that a little later and get into some of that boxing news and MMA news later in the in the show. But first, we're going to actually get into the last crescendo boxing card and go ahead and go through all of these fights with our distinguished guests here.
00:11:12
Speaker
So let's go ahead and kick this off and get into the fights. First of all, obviously, sleep this is, as we just talked about, a Turkey Al-Achik production. So this is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And so we are having seven title fights on the cards.
00:11:28
Speaker
what best compiled cards in history no doubt our panelists will let you know what they think about it being the best ever or if they have any contenders against that ah but let's start first with the early fight which is Callum Smith versus Joshua Boatze for Boatze's WBO light heavyweight interim title so Started off with Clubber D last time. Let's go ahead and go the other way.
00:11:58
Speaker
86 Boxing. Josh, how are you feeling about this fight? Actually, good fight. Show and prove fight some would say for Joshua Buwaxi, though I do like Joshua Buwaxi. He's gotten a bad rep at points, and I think it's because he's had a few fights that haven't been as quite on the entertaining side, though that's not all on him.
00:12:23
Speaker
That being said, he's also a guy who there were high hopes for. was initially with Anthony Joshua's management, or at least under the management and guidance of Anthony Joshua. That may still be the case.
00:12:35
Speaker
Of course, he was with Matchroom at one point. Now he's over there with Boxer, being Shalom, and he wanted to move away from just being on the zone. That's my understanding of his reasoning behind such, and he wanted to branch out.
00:12:49
Speaker
So I actually like his all-around game just from an overall standpoint. I think Joshua Boatsy has a good bit of everything. And in taking on Kalem Smith, who I have held in high regards, Kalem Smith's had a rough run in those fights with Canelo and, of course, Artur Beturbiev. And in the Canelo fight, we didn't see Much from Calum. And I don't think that was the best of Calum in a better BF fight. I mean, he ran into sort of a brick wall in some sense. So a lot of people have gone down in relation to that. So I think this is the last stop for Calum Smith as far as, okay, Calum.
00:13:33
Speaker
You've had a couple of fights at that elite level against two of the biggest in the sports, respectively, within their weight division, and you came up short. Joshua Boatsy, he needs a fighter like you to get over the top.
00:13:47
Speaker
it's going to be revealing as far as what Kalem does in this contest, because I do feel that if he isn't able to get over the hump here with Buwazi, that's probably his last big shot at really making some noise as far as the title scene is concerned. And for Joshua Buwazi, I feel like the time is right now.
00:14:10
Speaker
I do lean towards Joshua Guadagno to get it done. I think just from ah his overall game, that youth that he has on his side, though probably not by a ton of years, he does have youth.
00:14:22
Speaker
And I think that he's going to understand and live up to this moment, despite some of the fights that may not have been as glamorous that he's had here over the last couple of years. I do think he's a top-level guy, a guy capable of,
00:14:38
Speaker
of winning the world title. I say that capable of winning the world title, and I think will show that. Yeah, and you mentioned it, right? there You said he how he is younger, and he is younger, but the age difference is not that much as most people would say.
00:14:53
Speaker
Callum Smith is 35 years old. huwasiwa Joshua Boatze is 32. But Callum Smith does have the experience edge, having 32 fights, two of them losses, yes, but 32 fights to Boatze's 19.
00:15:07
Speaker
Papi Choon, what you thinking about this fight right here? Yeah, I'm um um kind of in agreement, agreementance agreeance with Joshua over there. um Honestly, I feel like
00:15:23
Speaker
Smith did miss opportunities. Well, you know what? First of all, before I say that, listen, shout out to Champ Ross and Fantasy Boxing's Prediction League, right? So that's little that's a channel where we do this boxing thing.
00:15:35
Speaker
we We pick about 20 fights a week sometimes, yeah and there's a record that's there for the eyes to witness. And y'all must know that your boy, Poppy Choon, has a time to breathe.
00:15:47
Speaker
in every category and almost almost winning that thing. So I'm good with this. You feel me? All right. I do just throw that out there. I do it. way this a bra You can check my record, fam. I'm good to go all the way.
00:16:03
Speaker
You know, no bias here. And I was picking Shakur to lose if y'all was... you I'm just going to. Smith, you know, I.
00:16:15
Speaker
a top that says record topic um know japa smith you know i i always enjoyed watching Smith fight. It was a big letdown for me, the way that he took on Canelo.
00:16:30
Speaker
And I do agree with that. You know, this is like some last chance type type ish. And I hate to say it, but man, this feels like some Jack Catterall type stuff. You get what I mean? Like, you should have won, had to win. should have been You just never kind of got there and the time ran out on you.
00:16:49
Speaker
So um I do in the fights that I've watched with Boatsy, he is he's 19 and over 13 knockouts. Usually I would go and pick him by KO, you know, but in the last couple of fights, I've noticed that um he hasn't had much variance on how he delivers his power. And what I mean by that is if he's throwing power at the same rate for the whole fight, whereas the opponent could get used to feeling the power.

Reflecting on UFC Predictions

00:17:17
Speaker
Right. So I think that with him throwing the power that he did the way that he used to in all the other fights, I think that is what caused him to get a little bit tired at the end of the fight.
00:17:28
Speaker
So if he's going to have a gas tank problem here and not switch it up, I think Kayla could give him some problems and out point him. But to be honest with you, I've taken Boatze by stoppage KO nine. I think he figures it out and he stops him in the ninth.
00:17:47
Speaker
Interesting. Interesting. Go ahead, Omar. So, yeah I mean, Boate, his last fight was in... I think it was on... was it all the It was on the ah Du Bois and ah Anthony think Joshua card, I believe. That was kind of to showcase him.
00:18:04
Speaker
It was back in September. I could be wrong, but I know it was in Wembley. And he won by split decision against ah Willie Hutchinson. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was what he was trying. I figured that would be like a showcase, you know, show your talents. And that that was a split decision. And I had him winning that fight anyways.
00:18:19
Speaker
I think for this fight... I think he's going to win by decision. I don't think he's going to be super impressive. I could be wrong, but I think he's just going win by decision. And with Smith, the weird thing about him, when he lost to Canelo, because Canelo was just punching him in the arm the whole goddamn fight, oh that was when Benavidez, they stripped Benavidez for the second time for the WBC belt, and that's how Canelo got that, instead of ah just getting the WBA belt when he beat Canelo Smith.
00:18:47
Speaker
Just wanted to throw that out there. Yeah. because read it. um and That's one thing, but if he has hasty, they threw that belt in there with that fight. but um but not think i think bowai I think he's going to win by decision. I don't i don't think he's going to dominate that much.
00:19:06
Speaker
but I could be wrong since I'm not top three like somebody I know. Hey, can I correct the record? I don't got my glasses on right now. i actually got Boazie split decision on my paper. Oh, okay. yeah same talking Same talking points.
00:19:19
Speaker
yeah I think he's going to have to manage his gas tank and the way he uses his power, but I got him by split decision based off of the similar to similarities. I feel you. I'm actually a combination of both you and Clubber I agree. I think that Tom Smith although he does have two losses, is a experienced fighter who is very tough and is going to be is going to be tough to get out of there. So with Boatsy only having 13, not only having 13, 13 out of 19 is pretty good.
00:19:48
Speaker
But I agree with you. We'll go to decision. I'm going to say split decision for Boatsy as well. All right. um Let's go to some comments here. Thank you all. They're coming in real quick. but created We can keep up with him.
00:20:00
Speaker
T-Roy. yeah tro What up? hey He says, loving the energy on the show. I need a parlay to put a hundo on. hes right there That's a good dude right there. Don't worry. You keep listening and listen to those picks.
00:20:13
Speaker
You heard the first fight. We'll keep it on moving. On Benavidez, he is not fighting Bival. so They said he wanted a break. That pissed me off after after he beat ah Morrell. i didn't like that but that answer.
00:20:27
Speaker
Let's see. ah Give me all your predictions for the cartoon so I can make a parlay. Eddie, come in. Take notes, to everybody. Skywalk, he got better after Canelo, in my opinion, opinion even though he missed some big opportunities.
00:20:41
Speaker
um After the Canelo loss, Smith had a nice highlight reel KO. And then what else we got in here? yeah All right, cool. And everybody else just saying what's up. So let's go ahead and give a shout out to everybody else rolling in. Moss, what's good? We appreciate you.
00:20:58
Speaker
oh Oh, is that Moss or Moss? Moss. Moss. Thank you for tuning in. Danny Daughtry says, we I i will guess he got sick. He said he was good.
00:21:13
Speaker
it's good Angel Diaz, my sources are telling me where can I get Morel against but Berlanga? Anybody got any sources? Burling ain't ready for that. He's fighting in Puerto Rico like in a week or two. I think in March sometime. He don't want that. There are different weight classes too. would have to move up.
00:21:35
Speaker
We have to move up for that. Let's see. He says, hey, Rodolfo, thank you for tuning in, brother. Appreciate

Live Audience Interaction

00:21:44
Speaker
it. The odds are going to be fire. Every fight is close. Yep.
00:21:47
Speaker
yeah If you don't hear my dog snoring, let me know throw something at him he can wake up. Good Lord. I didn't hear him, but now that you said it, I'll probably end up hearing it now. yeah i hear living me all with The next one up, Jaili Zhang versus Agit Cabayel for the vacant WBC interim. Another interim fight. There's four interims on here. so WBC interim heavyweight title and so obviously we remember Zhang from the knockout that he gave Deontay Wilder that you know possibly sent him into permanent retirement ah but Zhang has two losses and one draw on his record and he's going up against the ah undefeated 25 and 0 German Caballel so let's go ahead and start with Papi this time Papi Chunyeo how do you feel about that my friend man listen um
00:22:45
Speaker
Free Jerry Forrest, right? and So y'all know Jerry Forrest is. Number one, live in the same town I do. Number two, he beat Jane, in my opinion. So I see that as a robbery, you feel me?
00:22:59
Speaker
um With that being said, big bang! a Listen, my man, it's hard. Apparently he got heavy feet too. So if he step on your foot and you can't get it up out of there and he come through with that thing, you going sleep.
00:23:16
Speaker
That's why they call him bang. That's a bar. oh But, you know, I'm going with Caballel, bro. Caballel and Bacoli are the sleeping giants in the heavyweight division.
00:23:30
Speaker
While everybody was talking about Wilder and Joshua and all these people, these two particular dudes, Bacoli and Caballel, been quietly sleeping everybody, skilled people.
00:23:43
Speaker
Right. So with that being said, I'm taking Caballel by KO seven. I think he has he's a younger guy. He's more athletic. He's definitely he definitely could crack.
00:23:58
Speaker
And I think Zhang is I'm sorry he missed his opportunity. He blew it. they had that They had a Chinese fight set up, it looked like. yeah Just blew it, bro. He shit the bed.
00:24:11
Speaker
And yo the ship has sailed. And I'm taking Caballel, another bar, by KO7. And you know what's funny, ah before we go to Clubber D, you say that, and you're exactly right. The stats and everything shows it. It's a near even fight for the betting odds.
00:24:27
Speaker
But Caballel is 32 years old, where Zhang is 42. Right? And so you're right. Zhang, you know, maybe he's a little too old for this up and coming prospect. Clubber do you think That is perfect analysis, Omar, because I was actually going to mention that same thing.
00:24:44
Speaker
It's the age, because AK, even though it's the wrong country, AK is younger, and he's knocking people out. Ask Frank Sanchez about that. We all know about the Joy Joyce knockout by Zhang, what he did to Wilder, like you mentioned earlier, but 42 and 32. Heavyweight, you can do that at ah at an older age, but we saw in a Parker fight, Zhang faded.
00:25:03
Speaker
okay he's he's studied He faded away. Parker building was He outboxed him towards the end of the fight and won of that fight. So I'm thinking with this fight, the way AK fights, Cabello fights, I know, Papa, you said, what, what seventh round?
00:25:16
Speaker
Seventh. I was going to eight. Eight-round knockout, okay? but And bang, I saw of the press conference today. He says, I'm going to bang you, and then said, no, Diddy. um Oh! He's... yeah He's been hitting with that one-two walk.
00:25:30
Speaker
It's going to be it. those says You know what I'm saying? It might be. yeah. He said, I bang you. No ditty. I said, oh, hey, yo. Big Bang Jay doing it like that, huh? When he speak English, he be cooking. He is hilarious, but I'm going with Cabiel AK. I'm going to hit him with a round eight knockout.
00:25:54
Speaker
That is great. Now, Josh, Zhang does have a three inch reach advantage on him and is obviously the bigger, more hulking guy with the experience, with the size advantage. what do you think?
00:26:08
Speaker
Does that impact this fight at all? I think it does. And that's partly the reason I'm going with Jang in this one. So I'm going to go with this deb degree here. Now, I do like the run that Kabyel is on.
00:26:22
Speaker
We saw him chop down Mahmoudov, who was a menace, at least. He had that look of being a menace. And he chopped him down to the body, which was key right there. be keening on that He's great to the body.
00:26:34
Speaker
And I just think he's a good all around fighter. and And you could say last year, certainly one of those sort of fighters out of nowhere as far as name value or a, The comeback of the year, one those type things, even though he might not have been gone anywhere. Caviel was that guy in terms of what we see from him here over the course of time. Now, Jay, I think he's going to come in big and heavy.
00:26:57
Speaker
Of course, he may be around 280, somewhere in there. That's going to be a lot of weight to deal with. And that could be to the benefit. It could be. um kind apart know it's it Okay, okay. okay but okay you know We'll see how it goes, but i me it all depends so maybe cabael focuses on the body there but what i think is that Jang understands the magnitude there. I had a video on my channel, was called the Curious Case of Jelly Jang.
00:27:28
Speaker
This is on 86 Boxing Chef. I did it back in like 2021 because I found it to be very interesting because he was this older heavyweight from China of all places. And he was making, ah he was his was vying to get to heavyweight championship status. And I kind of questioned and wondered what had happened. And this was a little bit after that Jerry Forrest fight that Ernest mentioned.
00:27:51
Speaker
And Jerry Forrest gave him a run for his money for sure. And that's one that could have gone the other way. But I think that Something sparked after that fight. He changed some things up and we he saw the fruits of it.
00:28:05
Speaker
And that Parker fight in which he kind of was lackluster, though he dropped Parker twice. i think that was sort of an anomaly in the situation to a certain degree, though I really like Joseph Parker and i actually thought Parker would.
00:28:22
Speaker
provide a good bill of a a good deal of competition to him in that contest. And I think Jane, at this point, he knows that, hey, this is the opportunity at stake. If I'm ever going to get to this title, I'm going to live up to what the expectation was here with this fast track, then this is going to be the moment.
00:28:40
Speaker
And I think that size is going to factor in on Caballel. And I think he ultimately stops Caballel probably around the same time that you all think that Caballel is going to stop him from seven, eight rounds.
00:28:51
Speaker
That's where I'm going with right there. look Get that shot ready for next week. Hey, man. Josh said Chinese Shrek is getting ready to drop
00:29:05
Speaker
Somebody told that Jay was one dudes that jumped Chris Tucker in Rush Hour Part 2. Which one do y'all think? Slow motion.
00:29:15
Speaker
oh motion
00:29:19
Speaker
ah was one of
00:29:24
Speaker
great So, you know, when you when you look at this dichotomy between these two athletes and their age difference and the fact that, obviously, with the two records that these fighters have, one is coming in, they're they brought him in undefeated, hopefully that he can get the win against a name opponent in

Fighter Record Discussions

00:29:46
Speaker
Zhang.
00:29:46
Speaker
But also, when they put Zhang in there, they had to know that he's going to go out on his sword no matter what. So at this point, he's going in there to throw everything, caution to the wind, as they say, right? And throw he can to try to win this fight.
00:30:03
Speaker
So while I think that that does give him an advantage, I was actually born in Germany, wait for it. And I was waiting for it covered to didn't say I'm not gonna say it, I'm not gonna say nothing. Military base means it's a military soil, but go ahead. income a southport germany but you're pour out a military base okay see that was anyway um all black countrymen I'm going with I don't know.
00:30:35
Speaker
i don't know they therere they can't go longer than than seven i don't think pale gal six okay so we got alright what do you y allll think about that fight who do you think you're goingnna win and we've been going through these comments and go ahead you know couple more real quick.
00:30:50
Speaker
Let's see. We got Morning Wombat. Thank you for tuning in. Jang has to look for the finish. He doesn't have the cardio to outbox Cabayel at that point. I was just thinking that when I was thinking long they came down. Good point. That's very true.
00:31:03
Speaker
Danny Daughtry. He's a beast. Shout out Danny Daughtry. Thank you for tuning in. ah Wombat again, also taking Bacoli over Parker, even on short notice. Bacoli reminds me a lot of big George Foreman.
00:31:15
Speaker
His power accuracy and ability will be too much for Parker. um We'll be getting into that fight in just a little bit. Let's see who else we got here. He did add this to that. Let's not forget, and this is what you were talking about, Josh, when you responded to the comment earlier.
00:31:30
Speaker
Let's not forget that Parker didn't have enough sting on those shots. So we would want to acknowledge that you did. ah Put that out there earlier when Josh was talking. Shout out to Brian Corbett. Peace to the panel. We appreciate you. Appreciate you, Brian.
00:31:44
Speaker
Everybody, make sure you tap in with everybody. 86 Boxing, Poppy Toon, Yale, Skywalker, Boxing Media, and Ball and Bloods, Elizabeth Gilbert. Greetings, gentlemen, she said.
00:31:56
Speaker
Thank you for tuning in. ah Brian Corbett again. Jang looks like a Kung Fu flick villain. That's what Clever D was saying. Rest hour, right? Let's see what else we got. Jang, Hergovich.
00:32:10
Speaker
What's this right here? Kung Fu Panda Bear. My dog started snoring and kicked the dang on door, so I put myself on mute. My bad. Good point on that fight right there by Skywalk. That was a close one right there. Another fight that could have went either way.
00:32:33
Speaker
Oh. Uh-oh. You froze there, Omar, at least from a a picture standpoint or video standpoint. Oh, you're back. Oh, yeah, I did.
00:32:44
Speaker
I buzzed out for a minute. My bad, y'all. um Anyways, so keeping moving, ah Brian Corbett, let's see. Who else we got here? Did y'all already? Yes, we did. We gave our thoughts on the Boatsy Smith fight. Do y'all want to go ahead and give your picks real quick again so Morning Wombat knows?
00:33:01
Speaker
I think we're all Boatze. Yeah, I had add my decision. Split decision for Boatze for me. I think that was a majority decision. Sharice versus Adamez is the number one. We're getting that in just a moment. That's good right there. I'll be doing that next, actually. We could do... You want to do that or you want to do Ortiz? Whatever we all want to go to next. That was at least a title fight.
00:33:28
Speaker
yeah Whatever we yeah we all want to do. It's next on my list. Okay. Let's go. Let's go with it. All right. So, Carlos Adames versus Hamza Shariza for Adames' WBC middleweight title.
00:33:44
Speaker
So, ah first of all, this is um 21-0 is Hamza, so undefeated. He's going against Adamez, who's 24-1, so he has one loss here. This is a 12-round fight.
00:33:59
Speaker
Josh, we ended with you last time, so we'll go ahead and start with you this time. How do you feel about this fight?

Carlos Adames vs. Hamza Shiraz

00:34:06
Speaker
I think it's a good fight, very good fight, and probably a needed fight for both of them, considering they're not fighting Genevich Alamkannoli, who is another guy is considered to be who's considered to be the guy at 160.
00:34:21
Speaker
Carlos Adamas, I mean, a lot of people back him. They've seen what he's done. His only loss is to Texiera. think it's Patrick Texiera. And that was a good fight, good contest that he was in, and good back and forth in that contest. And Texeera pulled out a performance.
00:34:37
Speaker
That being said, Adama is big, solid, built guy who can box, you know. And I believe he's Dominican, right? And usually, yeah, those guys from the islands there, they can box. they They know about it from a skill and fundamental standpoint.
00:34:53
Speaker
So that plays in his favor as well. But since I've seen him as I should rise, I've just felt given his size, his fundamentals, man, he has such long length to him there with that jab, and he knows how to throw that right hand right behind him when he needs to.
00:35:12
Speaker
I just think that's going to be a problem for a lot of people there. at 160 and he's eventually going to move up he has the frame for such in terms of we've seen some guys who are tall and slender and you're like okay they probably have some limitations as far moving up like for instance take a sebastian fandora like he's only going to go so far you know but shiraz he looks like he's going to finish at 175 maybe even cruiserweight And you can just see that he's still growing in that sense as far as I'm concerned.
00:35:47
Speaker
And I think that technically they're probably going to match up fairly well. What I think it will be is Shiraz, he knows how to use his length to his advantage.
00:36:00
Speaker
And he can pepper you there with that jab from the outside before he starts to set up his punches. And I think, or at least I feel, that that will be hit in his favor here with Adamus. Now, Adamus, his best bet is probably going to be pressing him, pushing him back.
00:36:19
Speaker
We'll see what Shiraz can do if he's pushed back, if someone goes in there and tries to bully him a little bit, which I haven't seen or I don't recall seeing. And maybe Adamus has the ability to do so. And Adamus has a little bit of pop to him. So this one is probably closer to right?
00:36:35
Speaker
As far as I'm concerned, just thinking about it relatively speaking, but a part of me just feels like Shirai's The trajectory he's on kind of that size he has in length, I just feel like he'll understand where he needs to be distance-wise, and he'll not get in those exchanges that really make him vulnerable.
00:36:58
Speaker
So I will be leaning Shiraz to win a decision over Adamas, but certainly this is one of the tougher ones to pick for me, and i feel like it could go either way, but I'm going Shiraz there light slightly.
00:37:14
Speaker
with the decision victory over him?
00:37:18
Speaker
Well, um about my pick, so.
00:37:25
Speaker
Let's start with Carlos, right? So Carlos, Carlos Adames is a switch hitter. um He switches, he can fight left-handed, right-handed, and a lot of times in fights you see him switching, and he's very slick.
00:37:41
Speaker
He has great foot movement, he's very deceptive, he sets shots up, and has some pop, all right?
00:37:53
Speaker
So, he also trained with the guy we know who was the pound for pound number one boxer in the world, Bud Crawford, right? So that couldn't have done anything but sharpened his already high boxing IQ.
00:38:10
Speaker
So I think Carlos Adames has a very solid shot in this fight. Now, let's talk about... um talk about my man, Shraz.
00:38:23
Speaker
After his last bout with Ammo Williams, um I just... but I was like, Ammo is highly skilled. he was in the He was in the same camp. i mean, he trained with Jamal Charlo.
00:38:37
Speaker
He has a great coach. It seemed like, you know, he he got his life together and got his his mental, got some, you know, some mental studies done or whatever he said took time to get, you know, his mind right. And you got to appreciate that.
00:38:52
Speaker
right So I thought for sure he was going to give Shiraz a much difficult time. And in fact, I think I might have even had M.O. getting a um a split decision. and So don't quote me just yet. don't have the stats in front of me.
00:39:08
Speaker
And Shiraz, he um he showed his acumen. His jab is tough. Ammo did back Shiraz up against the ropes a couple times and maybe even called him a couple times.
00:39:21
Speaker
So on my official prediction, I'm going to say both guys hit the canvas. I think Adamus is going to catch Shiraz slipping, and he's going set him up, and he might catch him.
00:39:34
Speaker
But Shiraz is going to get up, and I think he finishes. um i think i think Shiraz finishes Adamus by round seven. Wow. It ain't going to be no guessing.
00:39:49
Speaker
like Both of them is going to hit with bricks, and i that's why I think both of them might go down, but I'm still taking KO7 for Sharratt. I thought you were going to dominance there for a second there. happy tune but eight I had to give him his respect, bro. People don't do that when they pick somebody. I had to give him his props.
00:40:05
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Unfortunately, they, you know, ah go ahead, Omar. No, I was going to say they're definitely going in there and and throwing D-beaters for sure, but listen, ah I want to say one thing before we get to Clever D. You both hit on it, and it's been in the comments. you know Skywalker was hitting on it too.
00:40:22
Speaker
Reach and jab is why he's leaning to Hamza, he says, Hamza's my height, 6'3", 6'4". Yes. So Hamza is 6'3". He has a 4-inch height advantage over Adamas, who is 5'11", while he has a 2-inch reach advantage, So I just wanted to add that in. Clever D., how do you think that will affect the fight?
00:40:42
Speaker
and that's what that's exactly i'm glad i'm glad you guys touched on that because that's exactly what i was going to touch on um two things with this fight um like uh like uh poppy poppy mentioned um the emma williams fight i believe that was with the uh five versus five the matchbook versus uh queensberry and i think he was actually on that card uh this past september in wembley he not do it out like in the second round or first round or whatever something like that it was it wasn't for your favorite belt that uh That British belt, you know what I'm talking That ain't colorful, ain't it? What?
00:41:19
Speaker
But um this monday this is my thing with this fight, okay? Hamzat, they are treating him like a fighter they want to build, okay? He's fought four times in the last year. Carlos Adamos, who's with PBC, I don't know if he's still with them, he's fought four times in four years.
00:41:36
Speaker
but So with that bit of ring rust and the way that Hamzat fights, he's going to use that 6'3", you know, long reach. going use that frame to set him up and try to knock get him out there. And for me, with this fight, I'm touch on everything you guys touched on. um you You did a great job talking about Carlos Adamas.
00:41:53
Speaker
And remember him watching him fight J-Rock on PBC, and he got him out of there. So he's a great fighter, but that something there's something that has to do with a younger fighter and ring rust. And that's the the younger, bigger guy who's more active always have has a better chance than me. So I feel like Carl Sadam going get knocked out probably in the fourth round.
00:42:12
Speaker
I got Hamzat in the fourth round knockout. ah Because look at like this. One last thing. i was looking up his record. 15 out of his last 16 fights have been TKOs for Hamzat.
00:42:24
Speaker
He's been getting these guys out of there. There's no decisions. you know so He don't play around. He got some good. Hamza is a 230 favorite on the betting odds, 180 underdog for Adames. As we all said, though, they're going to go in there and they are going you throw some some blows. like They are going to fight. they're and go out They are going to both get each other out of there as soon as possible. I side a little more with Papi Choon here on this one, but I do think that Hamza is the better fighter here and will win this fight.
00:43:02
Speaker
um I do think they both get knocked down. I don't think there's ah wanted to pick a knockout And now that you're saying that TKO, I didn't know that TKO stat that makes me want to pick a TKO. You know what? I am. yeah Now that you said that stat.
00:43:17
Speaker
Yeah, we'll go TKO. We'll go TKO. Let's say TKO is seven for that. All right, cool. Well, let's go through some comments here. ah Skywalker added that Adamez is a good insight fighter. Yep. And Josh, you mentioned that earlier.
00:43:32
Speaker
Morning Wombat. I'm a big believer in shara in Shiraz. He has the best jab in the division. Agree with Josh, 86. His size will give many guys problems. I watched the fight with Ammo Williams, and Shiraz shows great composure.
00:43:47
Speaker
He also says, especially for someone with little experience at the highest level, Tyler Denny was a good European-level middleweight. ah Josh, what do you think about that?
00:43:59
Speaker
No, I agree right there. And yeah, he handled Tyler Denny easily for the most part ah with kid gloves, one could say. But I think Clubber made a very good point in terms of I was trying to think of when I last saw Adamas, certainly not enough of him that you would expect for fighter.
00:44:19
Speaker
of his age and caliber, you know, and I know a lot of that isn't directly in his control. That seems to be a situation with a lot of PBC fighters at this particular stage there. And I think that might be one thing that haunts him. So I pick decision, but I think that inactivity could play a role.
00:44:38
Speaker
And I understand why you guys are going with stop, ah stop his victory there. Question for you guys. You think the the, I mean, that division, everybody knows that division is not as, you know, normally not as hyped up as all the divisions.

Future of Boxing Promotions

00:44:52
Speaker
So, Genevieve has two belts. you think he's going to be in attendance since he's top rank? Do you think he's going to be in the ring after this fight for the winner? That's a three-belt unification right there. They they could work it. We're talking 160, right?
00:45:07
Speaker
Yeah. Genevieve got two of the belts, I believe. no ESPN, they got something to say. They got their boy Xander. and as i asked they Yeah, but i Top Rank leaving them, though. top race ah they yeah Top Rank is in the fishnet. Turkey got them.
00:45:25
Speaker
Turkey got the Top Rank is on them hookahs now. I watched the last fight and it seemed like the tone was a little bit different. It didn't sound like Disney was running them. You know what I mean? Disney was it why running the tone a little bit different.
00:45:37
Speaker
Why was it on the main card? Yeah. ah yeah Seems like they're walking over the bridge real slow. I was pissed about that because shout out to Keyshawn, 757 stand-up, Shark City Norfolk champion, WBO champ.
00:45:51
Speaker
I got a problem. Why wasn't Adula Mason on the main card? I guess because they were in New York, you know, and they wanted to go with Xander. I know he was a prime. No, Xander's fine. Xander's fine, but... um But you're right. Oh, no, the disrespect was next level.
00:46:06
Speaker
They had Shushu Carrington on there, and they was talking to him, and he's ranked number one in two category in three divisions and two in one division. Or no, he's ranked number one in two divisions.
00:46:17
Speaker
He's ranked number two in one division. He's fourth in another. And ESPN had him ranked as their eighth best lightweight. Like, how is he number one? an average of two in every division, but you got him ranked number eight and you put that on the screen and didn't say it to his face.
00:46:34
Speaker
We see what you're doing. But you got walk over the bridge, baby. Come on over here. i like That's what happens when you fight on Jake Paul's undercard and make your own money. Lightweight pretty stacked now. will say lightweight is pretty stacked in the division. A lot of hitters there, for sure. I'm going to talk to main part of this event. But ah for sure, um yeah, Abdullah Mason must see TV right there, man. yeah his last fight when when he got knocked down, got up.
00:47:00
Speaker
Got knocked down again, not do down, it's back and forth. How do you not have him on TV again and build him up? I just, I don't know. Yeah, that's true. Shout out to my guy Brent Bovel who was officiating that fight. He taught me a lot of stuff in the officiating game and ah classic right there in terms of just that sheer back and forth that was involved there for that short fight.
00:47:23
Speaker
I feel you. Yeah. Now, um now Yeah, no, Abdul Mason is great. And yeah, I mean, we've talked about disrespect on this program before, the fighters not being on the main car when they deserve be there.
00:47:39
Speaker
Just wanted to answer your question, though, ah Josh, just to clear it up for our fans there. So he's fought once per year um in the past since 2022 as a Dames.
00:47:51
Speaker
He fought Juan Macias Montiel and had a win. He fought Julian Williams in June 23rd and had a win. And then Terrell Guasha was his last opponent.
00:48:04
Speaker
Oh, yeah. So it's Yeah. It's a BBC recipe. Ask Earl Spence about it. You what I'm saying? and The recipe no good. Right. I don't know why they think that's good over there, but It's the payment plan.
00:48:17
Speaker
Somebody said they was on a payment plan. They give them about vote four or five racks up front, and then they get to be on a payment plan on a monthly pay. I can't go buy a Lamborghini right now, bro. I need my money. I heard they've been door dashing. I'm not going front. I've heard stories of them door dashing. Hey, no way.
00:48:37
Speaker
so you know h Supposedly, they might be looking for a new home at some point, too. The rumors, at least, you know. We'll see. Wow. All right, well, let's keep it moving on. Schofield vs. Stevenson Fallout

00:49:11
Speaker
Moving it on. Shakur Stevenson was supposed to fight Floyd Schofield in a fight that I was really, really looking forward or to.
00:49:19
Speaker
Unfortunately, that fight has now been switched. Our panelists will let you know exactly what happened there. But he is now fighting Josh Padley, who's also undefeated. But Shakur Stevenson, we know, Olympian, one of the best in the world, 22-0.
00:49:33
Speaker
Josh Padley is 15-0, late substitution. um Let's go ahead and start. We started with Poppy last Let's go with Clubber D. Clubber what do you think about this fight and the late substitution here?
00:49:45
Speaker
Well, I'm going to start with the the allegations that ah Floyd Schofield, a.k.a. Kid Austin, him and his father, or maybe his father had. um First, it was masseuse that poisoned him. um And then, of course, Stevenson said that my masseuse is already even over in this country. What are you talking about?
00:50:06
Speaker
And then it was food poison. And they had a picture of Kid Austin in the hospital. um You look at his weight. He was on par with his weight. and He's only about three pounds over. So the weight wasn't an issue.
00:50:18
Speaker
And if you haven't hit the like button, go ahead hit that right now. I'll wait two seconds. I want to see one like, two likes, somebody. Three likes. I'll keep going. But anyways, ah so then they said it was food poisoning. The doctors recently just came out said that there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.
00:50:34
Speaker
um Shakur Stevenson called it on the Andre Ward ah interview saying that he wasn't ready. you know He didn't look too good, things of that nature. you know Maybe he should have called ah Justin Tucker or Deshaun Watson and got different masseuse. I don't know.
00:50:50
Speaker
I don't know. you know sam He doesn't have the complexion for the protection. But hey, if you got different masseuse, he would have been okay. But... know So, Clever D, his mom blamed Shakur Stevenson's camp online for this. Did you see that? Yeah. yeah but so there's They're saying that apparently Shakur Stevenson was so nervous that probably, you know, somebody from his camp came to Saudi Arabia, poisoned him, and said that, you know what, we don't want your son making a million dollars for this fight.
00:51:19
Speaker
and just make that make sense How was that? I think the real loser in all this is Shakur Stevenson because it was a damn you do, damn if you don't type deal because Kid Austin called his bluff on his last performance and Shakur Stevenson picked him up on his bluff.
00:51:34
Speaker
um He's come off a hand surgery. People didn't like his last performance even though he had the most viewed fight on ESPN last year, that being Shakur Stevenson. But he's come off a hand surgery. lot of people are kind of down on him, but this ah Josh Cadley, I know he's undefeated. He beat somebody ah back in September.
00:51:53
Speaker
That's nice. Of course, Steve going to mock the floor with him I don't see him going past ah five rounds. i think he's going to knock out. I was going to check his last opponent, but I was like, you know what? It's not worth it. dis it He took it over for somebody.
00:52:06
Speaker
Oh, did it? i will check. um What do you got on this? Well, well um shout out to the service industry and the service professionals. Y'all are needed. right you know If you love your job as a massage therapist, please continue to do that. Some of us, we we love it. You feel me?
00:52:27
Speaker
Now on to the Jeffrey Epstein. Oh my God. You know what i'm saying? You get intoxicated by getting rubbed down on like, bro, this that bad timing, bro.
00:52:42
Speaker
You can't say you when it down and with some stuff. And then you at the hospital and we looking at the picture at the hospital. It don't even like you really hooked up to nothing to be honest.
00:52:55
Speaker
You what mean? I'm like, if you got poison, you at least got a drug. You got an IV? You trying to get that stuff. So, you know, but honestly, man, I really had hope to see it. I wanted to see how Shakur would deal with the pressure.
00:53:12
Speaker
You know, I'm disappointed by that fight. You know i mean? They're showing pictures of Shakur with his knuckle all slid up. and you know that I was looking forward to the fight. you know I know they say somebody, Daddy, wanted to yass, bitches.
00:53:26
Speaker
you know that That's what I heard. And I needed to hear all that smoke. um it'll play that over there you I needed to see the ending of how that was going to go down. right And you know we didn't get it so Floyd, man, you got some you got some work to do, homie, man.
00:53:47
Speaker
Listen, man, you are an amazing athlete. You have incredible potential. Listen to some of these boxing heads about this sport, man. They can advise you better than you and your pops can still keep the respect and have that conversation because we need to see you doing your thing out here, man. just but we did This bullshit right here, and ain't going to do you no good and people going to be frying you if you don't get it together.
00:54:15
Speaker
But with that being said, I was taking Shakur Stevenson by decision, unanimous decision. I think he would have made it look easy. Easier than what other people have to say that way.
00:54:29
Speaker
And I have a problem with another guy being prepared to fill in. We saw this with Keith Thurman and Tim Zhu.
00:54:40
Speaker
Do not sleep on this dude. Y'all remember what happened with Fundora? I'm sorry. Fundora and Zoo? How did throw 1,000 punches and he took the fight on two weeks' notice? Fundora was supposed to fight. He was supposed to fight that card.
00:54:56
Speaker
he supposed to fight on that card. Yeah, that's why he was already in shape. I was like, you know, shoot, I ain't never seen that ever in the history of the sport. He was he's on that card already. forgot he was supposed to fight, though.
00:55:07
Speaker
Yeah, but that seemed like a setup to me, and I had seen a couple of last-minute replacements. We saw with Manny Pacquiao and my man from Cuba. at 47.
00:55:18
Speaker
He was a last-minute replacement, and he was ready to go. one day you thought up Boy, he had been training for many the whole time. well I know in UFC, in m MMA, they always have backups ready just in case.
00:55:31
Speaker
like and if If someone's going down, like for Jon Jones, Stipe Milchic, they had a Tom Aspinall as the backup for both of them. so I don't know if they do that in boxing.
00:55:42
Speaker
ah they They might, but... um But I know UFC, to make sure the fight still goes on, they have a backup, just kind of like Martin Bicoli. he's He's fighting on, what, three, four days' notice against ah Parker that we'll discuss a little later. So, you know what I'm saying? like So, Shakur another fight where there was ah a last-minute replacement of the swords, and it was Nakatali, a dude, the hard-haven right?
00:56:08
Speaker
And that dude kind of humbled him a little bit. He hit hard, and Shakur even admitted it in that in the after the ring speech. he Shakur was like, yeah, man, hey, I'm not going to just go up in there like did he hit hard. I felt the power. He said that.
00:56:22
Speaker
you know what I'm saying? So this dude that Shakur is getting ready to fight, do not be surprised if all the headlines read, oh, Shakur got stunned. Oh, boy, hit him hard. He hit him with the brick.
00:56:35
Speaker
o I'm still taking Shakur, but feel like I feel like something funny going on. That's all. know that they don't like They don't like Shakur. i mean They want all this to be messed up.
00:56:49
Speaker
yeah They don't like him. He got dimples and he beat old women. you know That's the type of talk they do. Well, they let Tia Fumo slide with all the stuff he but what listen of story It's different. It's different.
00:57:00
Speaker
yeah So, like I said, I'm taking Shakur by easy work. Papi, don't you think there is a little funny behind business behind this though? Yeah, definitely. okay Definitely. like there You got to look at the overall Turkey agenda.
00:57:16
Speaker
Their Riyadh season is not going to be occurring in America. The council or whoever over there said they want all Riyadh season fights in Riyadh. That's what the brand is.
00:57:26
Speaker
So like they need the belts from over here to make the attraction because people have to travel there. I think... ah Well, one, Shakur gets it on both sides because he's half black, half Puerto Rican, so he's like Noriega.
00:57:39
Speaker
but um mean But I think that ah Crawford Canelo is going to in Vegas, right? I could be wrong. I could be wrong. What is that? Crawford and Canelo is going to be he's bringing Canelo around my birthday, Tico de Mayo.
00:57:56
Speaker
He's bringing out to Riyadh over there when he fights him. Tico de Mayo. But the so but this Crawford fight, they're saying now might that might be in Raider and Legion in Las Vegas, though.
00:58:08
Speaker
i
00:58:10
Speaker
You're onto something. If it's over Ria, I'll be like, y'all yeah y'all ever watch the movies with dudes breaking to the museums and steal famous paintings? That's what that is.
00:58:22
Speaker
We already got robbed of the Better Beave and Bevo fight.
00:58:27
Speaker
Yeah, it was expected to take place at Allegiant Stadium, obviously. and We'll talk about this. um Things have changed. Whose fault is it? As Americans, it's our fault. We fumbled it. Yeah?
00:58:38
Speaker
We fumbled it. and I Our fault. This is a billionaire's war. The billionaires are beefing. We need somebody like Jerry Jones to be like, hold up a second, cuz. Let me show you something. We got a city here. We got nightclubs, bars.
00:58:53
Speaker
They can come hang out in Dallas and get some of that Southern comfort. Come on, Jerry. Where you at, bro? And just to answer your question, Mark Chamberlain was the O that was taken by... That was back in September, I believe. Yeah.
00:59:09
Speaker
yeah yeah so Josh, what do you think about this? Hey, I'm a fan of British boxing, and Mark Chamberlain was expected to beat Josh Padley. The apple cart was upset there. Now, I will tell you this. I like Padley. He has a very good story. I was watching that fight.
00:59:26
Speaker
That was my first time actually seeing him, but I was familiar with Chamberlain. And Padley, hey, he had his number in that particular contest. But I just think... Shakur Stevenson is a level above, and he's going to stop Padley. I think it goes no more than four, maybe five rounds tops. You know, that's just my thoughts there because I think he's going to be all wrong for Shakur Stevenson, but he'll be game. I will give him that.
00:59:53
Speaker
Now relation to Schofield, yeah, so disappointing, especially with all the hype and stuff behind it, with some of the bad blood back and forth, stuff that dates back but you know, beyond this year, of course.
01:00:07
Speaker
And it ends like this, especially this close to the fight. My buddy, Denny, who was on from out that way, they do some sponsorship for um kid Austin. And he's pretty adamant that there's more to the story, but,
01:00:23
Speaker
I love you there, Denny, but, hey, I'm with my people here on this thing. don't know what's the deal there with old freaking Ken Austin. You can't just let this happen at this particular juncture and all this stuff. I didn't even I saw the picture here recently. I didn't know the little back story of them posting it. I'm never a fan of when you Got to go about it in that manner. Of course, is something like a sickness or an illness. You know, we're not seeing any.
01:00:49
Speaker
I understand if you got a cut that like, hey, you see, it'y I can't do this right here. oh You see my my my hand right here is swollen. It's the side of a grapefruit. Grapefruit. But we're talking just a specific illness.
01:01:03
Speaker
Hey, you know, we can take his word for what he says, and there's no disrespect to him or whatever. So we go I'm going to give him the benefit of a doubt. Maybe there's something wrong. There's something is, or there was, or is something wrong with him.
01:01:16
Speaker
But that being said, a fight of this magnitude, man, it has to be something super duper serious right there for you to pull out, especially with your biggest payday on the line right here. If you're talking about a meal, whoo, then...
01:01:32
Speaker
maybe there's really something wrong with them, you know, to that degree. But I will say that I was favoring Shakur Stevenson to win that matchup decision, maybe late stoppage, but I was going to, I was probably going edge more towards the decision. And I think it would have been a unanimous and clear decision, but some fortunate we don't get this one right here. And we'll see how Schofield bounce back. I can understand if Stevenson doesn't want to even entertain it again. So maybe Schofield against Keyshawn Davis, that's the one I wanted to see, but then he'd be getting a title shot at this particular stage. Exactly, he can't get another one. Can't get a title shot off of this situation. So very interesting. yeah those Those are my thoughts on it.
01:02:14
Speaker
No, you can't get a title shot off of this. and and And let's think about this logically, gentlemen. When I look at a situation like this, especially when it comes to doping in sports, we see these cases all the time in every single sport, not just boxing.
01:02:26
Speaker
It's baseball. It's basketball. It's football. It's whatever. People get caught all the time for some kind of performance enhancing drug. Everyone wants to get that edge that is going to make them that much better.
01:02:39
Speaker
But if we look at this from all sides of this, a there's the fact that ah the payout that he's now missing out on. There's the fact that his mother was online. God bless his mother. But they're trying to accuse his therapy team of of contaminating her son.
01:02:55
Speaker
Then on the other side of this, you have the fact that he might not ever get a title shot again because of the shenanigans that may have been pulled in this. Because even if it's not, even if everything is true and you were contaminated by an outside source of not of your or your training team's doing, it's still a bad look on you.
01:03:14
Speaker
All of these things logically make no sense other than he wasn't ready or he was scared or he just didn't want to go and get knocked out in front of the whole world.
01:03:24
Speaker
I mean, not knocked out, but beat in front of the whole world. thank Of course, Stevenson's a great fighter, not necessarily a knockout artist, but yeah. Anyway, um what do you think about that? I agree.
01:03:36
Speaker
Hey, listen, I'm all, I feel like there's a lot of setups that happen and this just look like you talking about my neck and my back, right? Right. You know what I'm saying?
01:03:47
Speaker
Did somebody pay you say that? I want $150,000. Bro, you're not getting paid. I don't know. This fight not happening on home soil. It's not a good look. bo daga you know you mean like i want a hundred and fifty thousand bro you just youre not getting paid and i don't know and and this fight is not happened in a home this this fight is not happening in oh home soil it's just not a good look You know Everybody's doing the Kendra Lugmar shuffle all over the world, and they hate that.

Concerns for Shakur Stevenson

01:04:23
Speaker
You know what mean? Everybody's doing it. They love it, but they don't like where the source of it. they want Yeah, I'm telling you, man, I feel like they're trying to hijack our sport and just take it all over.
01:04:35
Speaker
And Shakur, I hope you on your P's and Q's, my dude, don't get caught slipping because they ready to talk about you, boy. They're going to talk about you until all the way up until your next fight.
01:04:47
Speaker
Yeah, but come on now. yeah Look. Padley is going to crack. He is going to crack Shakur. He's going to be reckless. He's going through the front door like. He might be reckless. that's why That's why I said this would be like a forefront knockout because I think that he's getting an actual lifetime.
01:05:06
Speaker
And Shakur, that's a three-division champion. Silver gold medal should have been gold, but whatever, Eddie Cruz. He can catch Kat. I think that the first round, Shakur is going to be cautious and then Kallit's going to go for broke because he's not what's his conditioning right now?
01:05:23
Speaker
He might have five rounds maybe six rounds in him so he's going to go for broke in the first two or three rounds and I think Shakur going catch him that's my personal opinion Yeah, he's not pat lee's not fulltime he's not a full-time boxer yet as far as that's 100% his job. He has a construction job, and or at least he did up until this win over Chamberlain. I believe that's still the case there. So even if he is full-time, he would have just started to go full-time at this particular

PBC Fighter Management

01:05:55
Speaker
stage. Two knockouts, four knockouts, if that. I think that's going to factor in right there. I think Shakur is going to handle them. But to your question there, Omar, sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire, but I'll just leave it at that because I do not know.
01:06:08
Speaker
Well, I'll put it like this in my closing thought. For one mil, if I trade my hardest, I will go there. If I lose, I lose. You can bounce back in boxing. You don't have to be undefeated to be the best in the world, okay?
01:06:22
Speaker
For one mil to lose this opportunity, for your future employer or your current employer, because Golden Boy, i know you know how Golden Boy does what fighters that look like us, and he's under Golden Boy, and you ruin this opportunity with Turkey Al-Sheik.
01:06:39
Speaker
Why is he going to want to put you on a main stage in another card? He was the main event of his own card, and now that we get you on a big stage because you called out everybody, you just so happened, the court said, okay, you think you're bad, come come see me. I'm going to pay you a million dollars to come overseas and show the world what you can do.
01:06:56
Speaker
And now this happens. So, you know. and eight And I'll just say, good because you alluded to that, Clover D, like realistically, especially those that watch the sport, I mean, I think it's probably a small percentage that was really giving him a chance. So this wouldn't have made him, wouldn't have made him, broke him for his career there. You know, i think,
01:07:17
Speaker
The majority were probably going to be leaning Shakur Stevenson, and that's not that Schofield couldn't bounce back from such. So that makes it interesting as well right there, because I don't think it would have damaged him as bad losing to Shakur Stevenson at this stage when many feel he's not even ready for Shakur Stevenson at this point.
01:07:35
Speaker
That young get tatter shot? That's it's amazing. Hey, Clever, would you would you let that massage lady? Let's just assume it's a lady. All right, let's put that in place right now. just to Him or his dad doing it? Would you like would you allow the massage lady to rub you down with some tainted lotion for million?
01:07:56
Speaker
You let her rub down for a million. Am I getting a million? You're going to get the million, but you got to take the rub down. Oh, head to toe.
01:08:09
Speaker
I'm um i'm putting my money on taking a dime. Yeah, I mean, he i so I see where you're coming from. I totally get this because it makes no sense in any realm of any type of contact combat sports from Muay Thai to even a jujitsu contest.
01:08:32
Speaker
Why would a young upstart risk his future and not just say, you know, I'm going to go out on my shield and lose this fight. he could i don't know I'm not sure how how young Kid Austin is, but Keyshawn got his first title at, what, 14 fights?
01:08:48
Speaker
And he's only, one the kid I think Keyshawn's 24. He's 25. So Kid Austin's what? i think he's 22. So why would you not want to be record books? what so why would you now we're being right Why would you not want to big be great? i'm taking i'm still I'm taking the conspiracy route, bro. I'm with you on that because it makes no sense.
01:09:08
Speaker
the The boxing used to be run by the mob, right? You feel me? So let's say I rub you down with some lotion and it got some stuff in it. You feel me? And now i'm the I'm the person that wants to make sure I get my bank.
01:09:20
Speaker
I get paid off the fight. hey, bro, you got to go in there, make it look good, and take a dive in a seven. If you don't, we're going to tell the world that you got something your system you got it in because we just rubbed you down. I mean, that's plausible.
01:09:35
Speaker
you So I'm taking a conspiracy route. I don't trust this fight. All this stuff seems funky to me. And I just hope Shakur's on his P's and Q's because people don't play fair in this world.
01:09:47
Speaker
People who want to win real bad do not play fair. Know that. Floyd's dad's been on an apology circuit this whole time. He's been apologizing to apologizing everybody. see They accused everybody for doing X, Y, and In fact, the doctor said nothing's wrong with your son. so he's but you I jumped to conclusions, yada, yada.
01:10:11
Speaker
so It's just a million dollars. You never had that money. like Why would you even attempt to risk this? Very interesting. Maybe somebody got an incriminating photo of somebody in some fishnets and some high heels.
01:10:27
Speaker
There you go. If you don't touch the wind, I'm going to post these fishnets. It'd be like Spider-Man meme. Let me get back on topic, man.
01:10:37
Speaker
Oscar be like, you too. He is 22 and a half years old. read up twenty two and a half years old I mean, come on. Yeah, come on now. There's there's up there's there's there's definitely something fishy.
01:10:49
Speaker
I agree, Papi. You and I are there with the with the conspiracy theory. I love a good conspiracy theory, and especially when it involves you being tainted. Like, come on, Patrick Beverly. Come on, Patrick Beverly. Way too long.
01:11:02
Speaker
You've been in the way too long to have something like that. Some comments real quick. OBX, shout out for tuning in. he says, hey, please get your OBX. And then he also says, something happened that.
01:11:16
Speaker
Yeah, so, hey, y'all gave me some updates I didn't have. I didn't know about this whole masseuse thing. I thought he had bad food or whatever. So don't know what it is at this stage. Well, yeah, no it was a masseuse apparently. A legend.
01:11:30
Speaker
Yeah, Justin Tucker. yeah Yeah, exactly. Deshaun Watson's got him on speed dial. Whatever it was was a work. I know what I will feel. I know you said he's going to crack him, Papi, Patty.
01:11:41
Speaker
I don't believe that. I can't see Shakur even getting close to losing this fight. And if I was him, I'd feel like... I don't disrespect looking like Mary Kay and Ashley Olsen on crack, you heard? don't disrespect me looking like Grimace from McDonald's, you heard?
01:11:55
Speaker
don't disrespect me looking like the character from Futurama, you heard? Have a disrespect me, undercover officer. Have a disrespect me having a cane and walking without the cane, you heard? Have a disrespect me out here looking like the black Cindy Lauper girl.
01:12:09
Speaker
Yo, bing bong, motherfuckers. hell no. Shout out to Nims. Shout out to Nims. Bing bong.
01:12:21
Speaker
All right, let's keep it moving. ah Yeah, I can't keep losing that fight. Anyway, how? No way, how? Anyway.

Fight Coverage Decisions

01:12:27
Speaker
All right, so do y'all want to go Ortiz Matrimov next, or do you want to do the Parker Bacolet next? It's up to y'all.
01:12:33
Speaker
No.
01:12:36
Speaker
I don't know which one's really the co-main. yeah Exactly. It's supposed to be Bacolet and Parker is supposed to be the co-main, but I ask because I think Ortiz Matrimov better fight, right? right In my eyes, at least.
01:12:50
Speaker
I don't know. be rock I think it's a better fight. Let's let's just go with Bacolet. Yeah, let's go with Bacolet and Parker. Let's mix it up. Let's go with Bacolet and Parker. Parker's 35-3. Bacolet's 21-1.
01:13:02
Speaker
This is another fight where we had a late-minute replacement. That makes sense. We should do this anyways. Another late-minute replacement. Daniel Dubois is out to an illness. So here we go. Yeah, this is perfect. We might as well segue and go to the same thing.
01:13:15
Speaker
ah Mysterious illness for Daniel Dubois. We are not alleging anything, but He had to be a late ah replacement with Martin Bacole, who comes in at 21 and one, but is a heavy hitter.
01:13:26
Speaker
And honestly, we know we were talking about this before the show started in the green room. But Bacole is to show what he has in his career. So Josh, start us off with this, brother.
01:13:41
Speaker
Hey, this is very interesting one in light of what has happened here with Dubois being out now. I did give the edge to Dubois in the contest with Parker, though was a little bit tougher to give him that edge, but I just felt like some of that Houston size would have benefited him in the stage he's at right now.
01:14:06
Speaker
With this one, man, it's just another tough one right there to go from actually dealing with Dubois to having to deal with Bacoli, who is absolute beast and...
01:14:21
Speaker
You made a good comparison there, George Foreman, the way he throws those uppercuts, those hooks. you It is sort of like Foreman there. Big guy, and he's no stranger to stopping opponents in their track. Took out Jared Anderson, who, from an American standpoint, we had a lot of hopes for, and those hopes are still there.
01:14:40
Speaker
He can bounce back from it, of course. That's a tough fight to take right there, a major step up for him. But it was a good barometer for Bacoli because Anderson was hitting Bacoli with some stuff in...
01:14:53
Speaker
But Coley was not shook whatsoever, you know? So that makes it very interesting. And that's what I wonder about with Joseph Parker, who was like one of my favorite boxers just in general, if I look at it across the board in the sport, that's me just outside of looking at it from a, say, journalistic podcasting standpoint. I just really like Joseph Parker. I like his story, how he's come back.
01:15:18
Speaker
from an ugly fight and loss to Anthony Joshua when he had his title on the line against him to switching over to Andy um edy Lee as his trainer and really finding his offense, opening up a bit more, a nice guy who can really put pause on you essentially.
01:15:38
Speaker
And I want to go with Joseph Parker. In this contest, just as I wanted to lean towards Joseph Parker in the previous contest, if he had take had he taken on Dubois.
01:15:51
Speaker
But, man, this is just going to be a tough one right there. McCombly isn't this Adonis or anything. So he's while it's short's notice, i know he's not like an Adonis who was like some bodybuilder or something who was going to come in and just like ripped up and in shape like that.
01:16:09
Speaker
He's just one of those big guys with a tough chin and a tough wallop to him there as well. And it's going to make it interesting for Joseph Parker. He just can't seem to stay away from these guys. But when when you're at that level, I mean, it's just a part of what you have to go through. So I think that Bacoli has the edge if there's going to be a stoppage in this contest.
01:16:32
Speaker
And I probably lean a little bit more in that direction, maybe 55, 45 there. I do think the better boxer is Joseph Parker. ah just don't know overall or it's hard to, you know, definitively say that Joseph Parker is going to have enough to keep Bacoli off of him. Bacoli's hungry, man.
01:16:57
Speaker
I think he's representing the Congo or is it the Congo he's representing? Yeah. or think it's... a No, he represents... He represents Scotland.
01:17:08
Speaker
Well, okay. I'm going to get into that. Okay, Scotland. Yeah, that is true. He did have a kilt. Those colors. Yeah. that color
01:17:20
Speaker
Okay, okay, okay. I thought he was 10-0 then. Oh, okay. But, hey, all I know is Bacoli looks hungry, man. He looks hungry out there. and i fa So I'm going to lean Bacoli, but I like Joseph Parker. So I would prefer he gets this swing because I want to see him get that shot at the title once again. But, man, Bacoli is going to be a tough one even on this short notice. And I think he understands that. And he's like, hey, this is an opportunity I've been waiting for.
01:17:49
Speaker
And he did it again. mean, he beat Jared Big Baby Anderson, put him out when most people thought Big Baby was supposed to win that fight. um Oh, my. Bacoli is Macabu's stepbrother, as Rodolfo Rennaro says. Which is crazy.
01:18:08
Speaker
So, Papi, what do you think about this fight? First off, shout out to all the indigenous people from Oceania. That'd be like the Aboriginals and the Tongan and the Pacific Islanders. Shout out to all of Their bone density is something different.
01:18:26
Speaker
All right. some It's a little bit density. They bone marrow, got some milk in it. Right. So those guys have never, ever in the history of anything ever came to lay down.
01:18:39
Speaker
So I want to say that first and foremost, and we know that if you want to call heart of a lion, you always going to get that from anybody that comes from that region. They got great pride in everything they do.
01:18:50
Speaker
right. With that being said, y'all know what happens when a train and a car gets stuck on the track? What happens when a train can't, it um can't slow down fast enough. They train get wrecked on it, bro.
01:19:05
Speaker
In this case,
01:19:09
Speaker
My man Parker is the car on the train track. Bacoli is an absolute monster. And if y'all didn't know, they be commando up under it them dresses as they be wearing over their turkey in them.
01:19:23
Speaker
And Bacoli be commando up under that kilt. And they be like, hey, it's a black man wearing one of our dresses. It's just a cutoff version.
01:19:35
Speaker
I'm riding with McCauley by destruction. I'm talking probably KO four or five-ish. Destruction. And I just feel bad because all my Oceania brothers, y'all got all this heart.
01:19:49
Speaker
And this dude finna come over there riding Commando up under his kilt with a bagpipe. I just, KO four or five, man. me Look, man.

Ortiz vs. Madrimov Analysis

01:20:02
Speaker
I don't need to hear. I don't need to hear about man-digos suing in ah right to left. ah close ah But for real.
01:20:14
Speaker
Yeah, no, salute to our Samoan brothers and everybody. All the Pawneesians out there, salute. Pacific Edge, everybody. The Maori. And you know what? You know how nice Joseph Parker was? He heard that Dubois got an illness. He didn't try to accuse him of none.
01:20:30
Speaker
He just said, I hope the brother feels better. I'm looking forward to whoever they put me up against. That's a true fighter. But Bacolet's a monster, and Bacolet's coming to knock him out just like he did Jared Big Baby Anderson.
01:20:42
Speaker
I got Bacolet continuing. i mean, how old is he, though? I couldn't even find his age anywhere. Does anyone know? this Oh, no, there it is. I found it. thirty Almost 32. Yep. They might not even the i enough use guys so well um yeah i'm taking bacola with the knockout
01:21:11
Speaker
um yeah but don but If your family me history is carved in a redwood tree somewhere in the rainforest in the Congo, I'm going with you.
01:21:23
Speaker
You can climb that tree and see your entire family history. I'm riding with you.
01:21:33
Speaker
23 of me did not sponsor this. Oh, my God. yeah And before we get canceled, let's keep that moving. You do not want to fight anyone who comes from a tough outdoor background. Let's just say that.
01:21:46
Speaker
You want to fight for my country? It's one of the hardest places in the world. Right. It is. It is, bro. That's the only place in Africa that ain't never been conquered by nobody.
01:21:57
Speaker
Ain't no better. That's a hard place. Man. Well, and we got hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I got to get mine. Mine my joint.
01:22:07
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Yeah, don't get mine yet. But I was... I know, that's all good. I'm trying to push you out. I know, I'm like, what the hell are we doing? But I'll put it like this, okay?
01:22:20
Speaker
Parker and DeBoerce, I looking forward to that fight so bad because both of them remind me of each other. Those fighters are similar to an MMA fighter, Leon Edwards, when it's all about confidence.
01:22:33
Speaker
If they have the confidence... You can't stop him. I had DeBoys as my ah fighter of the year last year. um so yeah Off that loss to Usyk, which looked like body a body shot to me.
01:22:46
Speaker
I'm pissed off about this fight because this is going to ruin DeBoys' story arc as far as meeting Parker and then fighting Du Bois i I'm sorry fighting Usyk as a rematch and becoming undisputed figured that'd a story I was such like you know it's fights make sense fight there's there's a story to be to be told and that was the story for Du Bois so I'm sad that he's sick Parker with Bacoli stepping in last minute you know his confidence could be shot. and And like you mentioned, Josh, he is being trained by Andy Lee, who's Tyson Fury's cousin.
01:23:19
Speaker
Tyson Fury, you know, yeah brings Anthony Parker in as one of his training partners at all times. So I honestly think that Bacoli, there's no way Parker's going to back him up.
01:23:33
Speaker
Like, it's it's not going to be like the Zang fight we mentioned earlier where, yeah you know, AK can crack and and and back him up he's going to get tired after about the five fifty or six rounds he's 42 years old.
01:23:44
Speaker
Bacoli's going keep coming. okay when When you see Kamala, when he go like this, he's got that star on his stomach. It's over with. When Bacoli does like this on his stomach, Parker's going to be out of there. i but I'm not going to do what Poppy said, but I'm gonna say I'll say six round. That's what he's going realize.
01:24:03
Speaker
Can't back him no more. Parker's about there. TKO. Going with Bacoli. Oh, yeah. I mean, I think wait, Joshua, did you you're the did you go with Parker you went Bacoli too? No, I said I want to go with Parker, but it's tough to see him getting past Bacoli because, yeah, he's a lot.
01:24:24
Speaker
That's too much, man. That's a big dude. Yeah, that's it. I wouldn't need an extra I wouldn't need like an extra three hundred and twenty five k just because of the kilt.
01:24:35
Speaker
Like, man, I gotta to go fight this dude, bro. I'm not gonna be scared, but I just know there might be a possibility that I can end up with some smelling salt. The last king of Scotland.
01:24:47
Speaker
You know what i mean? Bro, hey. Yeah, I mean. I've seen him. I've seen how big he is. yeah looks like it looked like that dude from Street Fighter. I don't remember what his name was, but he looks like a dude. He's like, I will kill you. lay I'm not getting anywhere from you.
01:25:07
Speaker
You're not going to punch me, okay? Because you may demolish my whole skull into like one piece. and i'm not He built like those dudes off that be doing the strongman competitions, bro.
01:25:18
Speaker
Yeah. You're walking around with hit stones. You're trying to see how far they can walk with it. Like. Yeah. ah Brian Shaw. Oh, my goodness. right.
01:25:31
Speaker
Cool. So we have our let's move into what we have decided is the co-main now because it's a better fight. on you all Our eyes. And then we'll get into the main event after that. But for the co-main event, we've got Virgil Ortiz Jr. 22-0 versus Israel Madrimov. 10-1-1 draw.
01:25:53
Speaker
The betting favorite here is Ortiz at minus 125, while Madrimov is a player. plus 100 underdogs. So, you know close, very close here.
01:26:05
Speaker
Majumov is 30 years old. Ortiz is 27 years old. And then Ortiz has the height and reach advantage by two inches. So Papi Chunyeo, start us off on this one.
01:26:21
Speaker
You got the right guy at the wrong time. Hey! Hey, Doc. no no Man, bro, I love Virgil's Ortiz style.
01:26:33
Speaker
He dig in He switches it up when he needs to. He makes adjustments. But at the end of the day, he say he going in there to get him out. And I do believe that Virgil Ortiz is going going there with every intentions of going to get him out.
01:26:49
Speaker
However, I'm sorry, young fella, you got the wrong guy at this time. Madrimov is a highly, highly skilled boxer.
01:27:01
Speaker
He has power. And I believe that his hunger is going to be that of, or his determination is going to be, damn, if I only had did more in the Crawford fight,
01:27:15
Speaker
probably could have won. I just did a little more. And I think he's going to come in with that chip on his shoulder and Virgil Ortiz is not coming to back down.
01:27:26
Speaker
And I do believe that around round 10, it's going to be sheepy at times because Virgil's going to get caught. He's going to go down. He's going to get back up.
01:27:37
Speaker
He ain't to able to get his legs together. He's going go in there. He's not going to hold. He's going to swing back and match him off his goal.
01:27:46
Speaker
It's going to be a flat line, bro, but it's going to be a great fight. Majimov KO-10. I love the storytelling. That was beautiful. Thank you for that. That was awesome. The future fight. That was beautiful.
01:28:01
Speaker
Cover D, what do you think about this fight? I'm with Papa Chunyeo on that one. I'll put like this. oh ah feel like Virgil Ortiz is in the second fight at that weight.
01:28:12
Speaker
um His last fight, I thought he lost in a close decision to a board check, but they gave it to him and him ah in a unanimous, which is wild to me when he got knocked down more than once. um I think what Majimov's, the way he can feint, get in and out, Ortiz has never fought somebody like this, okay?
01:28:28
Speaker
Especially moving up at this weight class. Majimov had Terrence Crawford, double on triple thinking things, you what And Terrence Crawford had to outsmart him and outbox him to win this fight. I don't think Ortiz's IQ was at that level just yet.
01:28:42
Speaker
So I have a majority decision match them all.
01:28:47
Speaker
All right. Wow. Majority decision. So, Clever D doesn't think that he is at that level yet. And he is, as we mentioned earlier, um you know, three years younger than Majumov, even though Majumov only has technically 12 pro fights. We know how that goes, though.
01:29:04
Speaker
We know people have tons fights. Exactly. So, Josh, tell us about that.
01:29:10
Speaker
so tell us So, hey, Clover D, let me correct you. This is the fourth fight for Ortiz at 154. Now, technically speaking, those first two fights both ended in first ended in the first round. The second one was against Lawson. Maybe.
01:29:27
Speaker
Did he make weight? I thought he didn't make weight, though, for those. Those are like catch weights. no Well, that I don't recall there. Maybe that's the case. Yeah, because the NFL make a wait.
01:29:38
Speaker
Okay, okay. They were above 147. They were above 147 is what I'm thinking there. And one of them very early stoppage from Tony Weeks.
01:29:49
Speaker
That being said... I've yet to find someone who is in agreement with me that Virgil Ortiz will win this contest, maybe even by stoppage there in the mid-round.
01:30:01
Speaker
And i I'm a big fan of Madrimov. I see him fight live. He is the real deal. Some say kind of a mini triple G. That's what he reminded me of when I first saw him, the way he operates. it He's very skilled. He can move well, great footwork.
01:30:16
Speaker
And if he commits to it, he has some good pop to him. And I do think he's the better overall boxer than Virgil Ortiz. Virgil Ortiz, he just has that heart and tenacity to him. It's just like nothing will hold him back or down.
01:30:33
Speaker
And the thing for me that makes me lean this way is when I saw the two matched up against each other. If you didn't know any better, see any better seeing them there face to face. You think that Madrimal was the one coming up from a lower weight class. But in actuality, it's Virgil Ortiz.
01:30:53
Speaker
And just seeing that size difference. I just feel like Virgil Ortiz is really going to bring, he's going to probably lay in into him, especially considering the fact that he's pretty good with his body work and all.
01:31:06
Speaker
And I think it's going to be a lot right there for Madrimov, who I mentioned is the better boxer and a guy who I believe in. And I thought he would not be a cakewalk when he faced Bud, who was moving up there at 154 for the first time.
01:31:23
Speaker
But it looks like Ortiz, man, he was probably meant for 154, at least from the beginning. So was amazing he was making 147. And I think that size difference is what's pushing me towards Ortiz getting a mid to late stoppage victory. And so far, I've been in the minority, but that's and my pick and I'm sticking with it.
01:31:51
Speaker
like go my friend Let me help you out, boost you up a little bit. You are not in the minority. I am with you. I am totally with everything you said. I think Majumov is a fast mile of Triple G. ah You know, the the the good, tough fighter that's going to fight well even into the later stages of his age, his career.
01:32:15
Speaker
But I do believe that Ortiz right now with his hunger, the youth, and the size advantage I think just in this fight, and that's not in the future, I think in the future, I think even Majumov can be better and better and win a world championship one day.
01:32:32
Speaker
But for now, I'm agree with you, and I think Ortiz is going to take him out as well. um I'll go with what you said, a stoppage, because I wouldn't know any better it would be a stoppage or decision here. and But i think that sounds about right. I think it sounds about good. And the reason I say that is because I don't know how many knockouts Ortiz has.
01:32:52
Speaker
So that's why. The majority of his fights are knockouts. He's only had one fight, no knockout. Yeah, majority of his wins, yeah. 1-2-1-21 knockouts. Okay, then, yeah. No, I'm taking i'm digging a KO then. This is going to be like Canelo and Triple D won. You remember how Triple D was just drumming on the boy?
01:33:11
Speaker
Boom, boom, boom, boom. but He was beating on him. Triple D won that fight. I thought, I was like, oh, snap, Bud got a problem. Imagine him about start letting his hands go because he was getting it. Yeah, he did.
01:33:25
Speaker
They was like, grab him and hold him. When he was hitting him, he was thumping him. You feel me? I'm going to lie to you, bro. This is going be an exciting fight. That's what it's good, man. He can yeah right like fight.
01:33:37
Speaker
That is the great point, though, is fight against Crawford. He was hitting Crawford pretty hard. It was close. yeah It was, yeah. Crawford has some skills to go rely on.
01:33:50
Speaker
beginning and why but um more organic man ah we'll fly yeah iowa hey yeah again hey y' opportunity We really appreciate it. Make sure you're tapped in with all of these channels. 86 Boxing, Poppy 2 Yale, Skywalker Boxing Media.
01:34:08
Speaker
Clubber D is on TikTok at clubber.d and make sure you find both Clubber D and the sports professor yours truly at Ball and Buds, those are bars, Poppy.
01:34:19
Speaker
Anyway. Oh, bars. We're about to about to have a rap battle on live TV.
01:34:27
Speaker
Moving on to the main event. Y'all let us know what you're thinking about these fights. Do y'all have predictions? seems like the ah Seems like a lot of y'all are probably thinking the same way that most of our panelists are thinking, so let's move it into the main event.
01:34:42
Speaker
Archer better be 21-0. twenty one and oh Dimitri, B-23-1. The undisputed, and I mean undisputed.
01:34:55
Speaker
First, it was the first time ever light heavyweight was undisputed. And we are going it again, the rematch, the number two for every belt, including the beautiful ring magazine title.
01:35:09
Speaker
Clubber D, the combat G. Start us off on this amazing main event. Well, you know, this fight is going be different from the first fight because the last fight, Arthur Bedev was coming off for four months of MCL surgery, and he still did what he had to do get that fight.
01:35:29
Speaker
Now he's had a longer time to heal that injury. um Vival already complained about, not complained, but he told and when he was blocking towards later rounds, he could still feel the punches.
01:35:40
Speaker
Now we're coming with 100% Arthur Bedev in this fight. Duvall, I'm sure he dealt with his wife's situation where she was hold doing all that stuff, trying to say, hey, yo, he's not there.
01:35:53
Speaker
That distraction is probably gone. you know It's probably gone his ex-wife. I'm going with this fight 110% as the fail-safe of Duvall going against Usyk.
01:36:06
Speaker
Arthur Benavidez. I like kind of like that. I like that. yeah i don like it ah kind of argue day like that one too many bourbons. That's what that is. i would say AB.
01:36:19
Speaker
That would be AB is going to knock out the ball in the sixth round. but And then what's going happen next will be,
01:36:30
Speaker
ah AB against Usyk this summer, and then he'll both retire. The sixth round. Wow. we got here Look, if if he heard he wasn't hurt if his knee wasn't hurt would have gotten up by the earlier, okay?
01:36:48
Speaker
If Wall's not ready, he can't handle this. He was coming back from knee injury, so that's why most people are expecting this fight to be better because it's coming back from a knee injury. But also, people are expecting this fight to be better on Beevil's behalf as well because Beevil in interviews has came out and said that he found better beat up to be beatable in that fight and didn't find his punches to be very effective in actually causing pain to him.
01:37:13
Speaker
Beevil ain't grown no power unless he got the TRT. That's all I gotta say. Yeah. hey I don't know who's going ought be at the signal with six rounds. Knockout.
01:37:26
Speaker
Boppy June. What you got for it? I got it right last time and hopefully I get it right again. But listen, I just, you cannot have distractions outside of the ring when you get ready to go fight your equal and somebody who seemed to be like a demigod.
01:37:45
Speaker
So, you know, if your wife is out there telling your opponent that you got doo-doo stains in your drawers when she wash them, you got problems. You get, you know, you need to keep that stuff out to the media. you That really happened? Bro, she told all his business. She told everything.
01:38:01
Speaker
You were DMing. She put all the business out. You need to take care of your... Too better be Deadbeat daddy type. She said, I hope he wins.
01:38:13
Speaker
She was mad. she's my i I'm surprised people ain't talking about it right now. yeah is Those are some talking points to have, mind you. But listen, man, I love...
01:38:26
Speaker
I rewatched that fight at least twice. Bevo has some incredible combinations. He was able to, you know, put some things together and it looked brilliant at times.
01:38:39
Speaker
And it's just, after better beef is different. Like when he hit Bevo, Bevo's, Bevo, you know, Bevo felt that power.
01:38:51
Speaker
Bevo was like, nah. Yeah, man. Bevo was like, OK, this is for real. He blocked it all everywhere. I'm going to need what I got in my bag to fight this fight. And he needed it.
01:39:02
Speaker
And Arthur, at the end, gave him respect and said that Bevo was the better boxer that night. He still felt he won, but he said Bevo was the better boxer. Now, with Arthur probably being, let's just say 40% to 70%, because it takes a lot to get you recovered from these.
01:39:17
Speaker
Right. So if Arthur better beef is just 20% more than what he was before, he can back Bevel up. Yep. Bevel gets backed up and he get the drumming on him like that, bro.
01:39:31
Speaker
I just don't think anybody in the world can withstand what Arthur better beef got to put out. i just don't, I don't believe it. So I'm taking better beef by KO 11.
01:39:45
Speaker
That's based off me giving, Bevo the maximum amount of respect. I think he's going to box. I think he's going to show heart. I think he's going to exchange a little more than he did last time just so he can prove that he wins it clearly.
01:39:58
Speaker
But I think better Bevo is going to dog him. He's going to manhandle him. He's going walk him down. He's going to push him back, and he's going beat on his body because that's what he was doing.
01:40:11
Speaker
right. Well, pause on the body work. We know you're all about that body work.
01:40:18
Speaker
So, look, I completely hear what Papi is saying. He is completely right about everything. said Better Be Up is a different monster. To be 40 years old and be able to perform like he did against people last time is very impressive.
01:40:33
Speaker
But he is still 40 years old, and Father Time does eventually catch up to all of us. I'm not saying that's going to happen four months after a fight where he showed he was up to par and he's getting better from the knee injury, but he's still over 40 years old. um Dimitri Bivol obviously had the win against Canelo, shocked the world with that win. No one thought that Canelo at that time was going to get beat.
01:41:01
Speaker
ah But since then, he did have the follow-up fight. I forget to guess who that was against, but he did have the follow-up fight was good. um But since then, obviously, he's come up against very tough competition. So Josh, tell us what you think about this fight. Do you feel like the age of Betariev and that knee injury combined are going affect him at all?
01:41:21
Speaker
Or do you feel that that he's still going to have enough youthfulness in him? Well, I will say that I haven't seen any slippage as it comes to better be a knee injury aside.
01:41:34
Speaker
I didn't see it making much of a difference in this previous fight. I thought he fought the way that he typically fights. The difference is he was in with the best light heavyweight in the world at that particular juncture.
01:41:47
Speaker
Leading into that contest, I said that Bevo without Vox better be F. And in my opinion, that's what he did. I... i Watching it live, I felt that B-Bowl won.
01:41:59
Speaker
Watching it again, so I've seen it twice, on replay, I felt B-Bowl won, but it was a slight edge, you know? I had him by two rounds.
01:42:10
Speaker
But... So when some rounds are very close, it can go either way. So I do see the things that others saw and why they lean more towards better be. a That being said, I think the Bavol we're going to get this time around is going to understand that.
01:42:29
Speaker
And he's going to capitalize on any of the mistakes he made in the last contest. And he actually has power. As a matter of fact, a lot of his early fights, they were stoppages. So over the course of him competing at this elite level, he has had less stoppages.
01:42:49
Speaker
That being said, he does have the power there. And I feel like he has the power to hurt Better be Ed, and we saw him get in some good shots and in combination during the last contest, and I think we're going to see more of that.
01:43:04
Speaker
Of course, better be Ed, he is just tough to deal with just from his pressure and then the power behind the punches that he throws, so that will be in effect for sure.
01:43:15
Speaker
I wouldn't say it's the it's an age thing. I just think it's Bivol overall is the better boxer technically, fundamentally, and he's a more sound boxer. I think he'll make more of the adjustments needed.
01:43:31
Speaker
And I'm going with Bivou to win this via decision. And I think that it'll be clear this time ah by comparison to the last time. Matter of fact, last time I picked Bivou via late stoppage and I was off.
01:43:47
Speaker
I was off for sure, but I'm still going with Bivou for the win because I think he's long been the best light heavyweight in the world. The more impressive highlight reel will be that of better Bias, but I do think that people is the better fighter and that will show here this Saturday I would uh my only uh thing about that is um yeah a question one you got the Usyk backstory with what better be have uh from the Olympics I think he if he wins this fight and he's can move up and also where they're fighting Robin on's around the corner
01:44:27
Speaker
And what Benerbia represents? He's going to have that home field advantage, just like the last fight. So I keep that in mind also when it comes to this fight as well.
01:44:43
Speaker
Yeah, and I mean, that's all obviously obviously something i ah we have to take into consideration when we're looking at fighters and holidays where they may have to fast and do other things of that sort.
01:44:54
Speaker
As you mentioned, Josh. Right. It's very, very, very strict. Right. And as you mentioned, you know, Josh, last fight was close. Right. It wasn't like it wasn't it was a bump.
01:45:07
Speaker
um One fifteen, one thirteen, one sixteen, one twelve, ah one fourteen, one fourteen. So one judge even had even
01:45:18
Speaker
thinking about. The fact that the fight was so close last time, thinking about the fact that these two fighters now have more experience against each other, thinking about the fact that Beterbiev will be back healthier um with his knee.
01:45:36
Speaker
Is there... and I want to ask this as a caveat, and a clubber's caveat, obviously, like we like to do. um For each of you, I want to ask this.
01:45:46
Speaker
Is there a way the fighter that you have not picked to win, is there a way that fighter can win? Josh, go ahead and start us off. What do you think about the person you didn't pick to win? Do they have a chance to win it? Oh, most certainly. Most certainly. And he got the edge in the last contest.
01:46:03
Speaker
I think that for better be it, what he's going to have to do is ramp up the pressure a bit more. I think having gone these rounds would be both these going to be a little bit more prepared for what Bivol can do there on the outside footwork-wise because if you look at a lot of the earlier rounds, it was mainly better be of chasing Bivol around or at least trying to get to him.
01:46:29
Speaker
He wasn't able to get those shots in because he couldn't really pinpoint him. Then as the rounds were on, he started to get Bivol's back a bit more closer to the ropes,
01:46:40
Speaker
And therefore, he started to find his range and land some of those shots. So I think pressure is going to be the thing that, effective pressure at least, is going to be the thing that is in better BS favor if he's going to be but and be able to get the victory in this contest. You want to make it very uncomfortable for Bibov.
01:46:59
Speaker
keep his back against those ropes, keep him with that guard up and tee off on him. Even if you're not landing directly on the body ahead, whatever, you just want to get that work in.

Better Beave vs. Bivol Strategy

01:47:09
Speaker
Just hit hit whatever you can hit. And I think that will be something that can benefit him.
01:47:13
Speaker
Yeah, keep throwing, keep the fight moving. Papi, you had Beterbiev winning this fight. How can Bidol upset him? Man, listen, this this is this is some this is like a Marvel.
01:47:27
Speaker
This like a real-world Marvel fight. You got... ah be Better Beave is he got Adam... He got a skull that's lined with Adamantium.
01:47:39
Speaker
And Beave all has the skills of... I don't want to say Black Panther, but he might have went and borrowed some Vibranium or something. You feel me? And I just...
01:47:52
Speaker
I just don't know, man. I feel like... You don't think there's any way B-Volt can win this fight? Well, so I understand that be I do believe B-Volt is the actual better boxer and maybe even possibly more athletic, right?
01:48:10
Speaker
But, man, when you... If you cut the Wolverine, he'll back up. Like, we've never seen... i We've never seen a weak, we've never seen, we haven't seen anything, a real weakness that he has.
01:48:26
Speaker
You know what saying? Because he would he would he if he if he is weak in area, he makes up for it with determination and grit and heart. Like he doesn't believe that he can be, it's hard to say, it's hard for me to say that Bevo can beat him when better Beave don't believe that Bevo can beat him.
01:48:46
Speaker
Mm-hmm. it. I can see he would have it would have to be a master class on boxing. But I just think that he's going to get punched and it's going be like getting hit with a Louisville slugger.
01:49:00
Speaker
And it but it better be go to his body early. He's going slow him down. OK, I say this. If people can catch him one of those combinations and a punch that better be doesn't see.
01:49:15
Speaker
a I think it would have to be off a combination, ah angle, and a shot that beef the better Beeb doesn't see that catches him. Because it could happen to anybody. So oh I'll say that.
01:49:28
Speaker
But I just I said KO 11. That means if I say somebody's supposed win by KO, means I'm not giving the other person Chance. Much of a chance. Yeah. Yeah.
01:49:39
Speaker
But you said KO 11, and that's kind of late. so there is Yeah, it's late because he's going to get beat on for a little while. listen simple you can't You know those fighters that you got to have this going to be one those fights where Bebo's corner is going to have to watch his gait.
01:49:56
Speaker
I'm talking about his his walking gait because he's one of them type of fighters that will do it to the death and that that's never going to stop and they're going to be in there fighting off of muscle memory versus them actually being there in the fight.
01:50:11
Speaker
I think something like that could happen. Better Beave just hits too hard. Beave Ola's really skilled and he's not a quarter either. I just and just can't go against Arthur. It's hard. sorry too It's hard to. Do you think the same thing?
01:50:25
Speaker
ah Pretty much my thing is, I will say ah my only difference would be not, at it won't be a punch that BVF doesn't see. be more so, Bival will have to have his track shoes on this whole fight and outpoint him.
01:50:41
Speaker
He will have to get in, mix in for a little bit, but but bla but back up some. bring him in, outpoint him, back up. Because i don't see him standing toe-to-toe for much in the rounds. So he's to have to outpoint him each round and then survive for 12 rounds on his back foot.
01:50:59
Speaker
Okay. So Bivol would have to obviously survive all 12 rounds pretty much, you know, Playing the Canelo game, as we like to call

Addressing Racism in Boxing

01:51:08
Speaker
it. hoy um You had KO 11. What did you have? kao Did you have a KO or did you have a decision victory? ah No, I had a KO. It was going to be, I'd say like five. Yeah.
01:51:20
Speaker
yeah sponsor flag yeah Josh, who did you what you have, B-ball decision? I had B-ball clear decision. Majority. Okay. So there you go. Unanimous. Unanimous. Oh, okay.
01:51:32
Speaker

01:51:47
Speaker
Josh got a couple of dogs. He's a little different for us on a lot of these. A lot of people were with me. lot of people were with me in that last one in terms of who they felt was, you know. Josh, Josh, Josh, stand on his, though. That's what you got to respect.
01:52:01
Speaker
I love it. I love it. Hey, Morty Wombat asked, he says this was a great stream. Do we want to come back on next week and do it again for a recap?
01:52:12
Speaker
What do y'all think, gentlemen? I'm down. We can do a recap. Nobody eat crow like me. remember the last time I had it. It'll be a Wednesday or Thursday show. What works best for er everybody? let's quick We'll figure it out.
01:52:26
Speaker
Probably Thursday. Thursday. Thursday will probably work best for me. right, y'all. Keep on the lookout. Make sure you tap in. Subscribe at 86 Boxing. Make sure you follow Poppy.
01:52:38
Speaker
If I lose, I ain't coming home. Make sure you follow Clubber D on TikTok, but also make sure you follow both of us. That's right. yep We got to bring the shot glass. We need a shot glass and we need a hoagie roll with all the toppings on there for that crow to get on there. I know my body got to lose.
01:53:00
Speaker
hey ya bring Bring two bottles. Bring two bottles and we'll pick which bottle you got to choose from them to take that shot. very so it like Next Thursday night, y'all better be there, but we're not done yet. Let's go ahead and hit up a couple more topics that we want to hit up.
01:53:16
Speaker
We got a little bit of news and a couple questions in the mailbag before we get out of here for the evening. So, um first of all, let's start with the boxing news. Clubber D, did you have some pieces of news that you wanted to share with us? Besides, a shout to Keyshawn.
01:53:33
Speaker
You know what saying? don't think there's too much going on in the news right now. We have I don't want to give Tiafema Lopez too much light on him trying to sabotage Keyshawn's fight by sending bananas and and watermelons to his a door.
01:53:46
Speaker
Oh, he's the one that did that? Yeah, because he said make a make boxing great again with the African flag. Oh, wow. he's And my thing with that, yeah it's because Keyshawn and Shakur went easy on Ryan Garcia after he said what he said.
01:54:05
Speaker
so it kind of opened the door for people to just jump out the building and uh the vargas sons uh fernando vargas jr we saw you like that comment that that that team fumo did with the bananas so we we ain't gonna forget that stuff okay buddy just saying Yeah, you know, my man got an acorn head. Like, you all know how acorn look?
01:54:26
Speaker
He got an acorn head, my guy. And he just, you know, it's unnecessary, dude. You've been a culture vulture. You mooched off of it. You know mean? You was up in there doing the stuff that we do.
01:54:40
Speaker
Then, you know, even Cameron and them, they pressed you real tough, didn't they? Yep. They pressed you. And for the people who know, who understand how people talk, you got pressed by them. about the monkey stuff.
01:54:52
Speaker
Now you back at it again, bro. Like you, you making a no fly zone for yourself, man. Some of these people out here, the climate of America ain't right for what you doing right now. And you showing up at these fights, it might be somebody to check your blood pressure, homie. You know what saying? That bottom number might be a little elevated when people pull up on you. So just knock it off with the racist stuff.
01:55:13
Speaker
And let's just be happy. Talk smack to the dude, but lead the racist stuff out of it. You know I'm saying? Talk smack. We like smack. Smack talk is then you get in the ring and fight. that That's the manly thing to do. But leave that racist stuff out because this ain't the right climate for it. You see how we packing people up and getting them up out of here.
01:55:30
Speaker
Right. Don't get packed up, dude. you You're an incredible athlete, but you out here talking reckless and it seems like you feeding off of that stuff. So just knock that off. His dad already figured it out.
01:55:42
Speaker
His dad already figured it when he sparred Keyshawn back in the day. Keyshawn pressed him on stage too. Yeah. so it's like you know yeah I saw the Kool-Aid pumping in his veins. He was like, i'm trying to read his book and stuff.
01:55:55
Speaker
Yeah, bro. oh Yeah, yeah. im Yeah. yeah we Just knock it off, man. Knock it off. This is the thing. In boxing, we've seen, and and this is this is set up by boxing's infrastructure, by boxing promoters.
01:56:10
Speaker
They pit the black versus the Hispanic, the black versus the white, the Mexican versus the Puerto Rican. yeah They do these things on purpose to ramp up these divisional hostilities, whether it be country, city, state, whatever.
01:56:25
Speaker
But the fact is, when you let it go past that and you start using racist language and you start doing things that are disrespectful to another community of people,
01:56:38
Speaker
then that's when you've gone overboard. In boxing, yes, there's a lot of adrenaline, a lot of testosterone, a lot of people want to knock each other's heads off and kill each other in the ring. Get it. Got it.
01:56:49
Speaker
Good. But if you feel that way and you feel that strongly about another person's skin color, maybe you don't need to be in boxing then. Maybe you need to have some other sort of profession that doesn't ah ah permit you to go into battle And taint yourself, possibly, right?
01:57:11
Speaker
We're not going to say that he did, but possibly these things happen. We've talked about it. And try to kill somebody in a combat sport because the way that you feel because of the and the the color of another person's skin.
01:57:24
Speaker
And we're not going to turn this into a social justice debate or anything like that. But the question of the matter is that you can't state things like that and expect your bridges not to be burned.
01:57:36
Speaker
That's right. Oh, yeah. they And I'll say I've interviewed Teofimo Lopez on two occasions. And from the general perspective, he seems to have a good heart on the back end side of it. But certainly got to look at him different regarding this type stuff right here. Definitely got to look at him different now for sure.
01:58:03
Speaker
Yeah, man, I've been, um been um ah ah ben you know, I kind of sometimes I be hoping he lose just based off the way I be feeling about it. Like, hey, homie, you over here talking about us and they got a thousand dollars on your head, a thousand for each one of y'all. You out here beefing with us. Go ahead. Go over there. So somebody going collect a thousand.
01:58:23
Speaker
You bet. Bet you won't go out the side of the house without an ID card, won't you? And the fact is that- We support you, bro. We put money in your pockets. Like when you beat Lomachenko, we was here with you, homie. We wanted you to beat Lomachenko.
01:58:36
Speaker
And you you went out there and did that and we was proud of you, but you don't take accountability for the things that you do. You don't take accountability for the things that you say that are disrespectful to whole entire groups of people.
01:58:47
Speaker
And that's where we see you as less than the man because you're not being accountable for the things that you say. If you said what you said and you mean it, stand on business when you get pressed by Cameron and they'll be like, yeah, I said he was a, ah o i so yeah, I sent him the bananas in the watermelon, but I sent them to him and I meant them for him and not y'all.
01:59:08
Speaker
Say that. If you feel like that, say that. And it doesn't make it good but it doesn't doesn't look good because his sister is married to a black man and they have a child. That's another reason, man. It's the hatred,
01:59:19
Speaker
His wife left him for ah black man, apparently. so So there's a lot of, you know, seeing the pattern of what happened his wife. You know how it goes down in Arkansas there.
01:59:33
Speaker
They talk about no British broadcasting channel. You know he'd be on Pornhub looking at interracial.
01:59:41
Speaker
<unk>m has she walk in who for it and but can walk through single action cause some of that mending or you little you know i have into my feet now he you know he'd be on porn a hub looking at endracial hey yeah yeah yeah you don't Don't come for us, brother. then The FBA group is deep.
02:00:03
Speaker
oh Yeah. Don't do that. yes Don't come for us. That goes for anybody. We respect y'all. We love the sport. But, yo, don't you can't do that, homie, and and think we ain't gonna say something. And even though he's Mexican, it looks all his makes all Hispanics look bad.
02:00:18
Speaker
So I'm Puerto Rican, but most people may not know that. So they go, oh, yeah, you like him. He's Ecuadorian. He's Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican. Yeah, Honduran. Honduran, yeah. Honduran. Honduran, yeah.
02:00:29
Speaker
Okay, he's not Puerto Rican. Okay, thank God. Oh, maybe not Puerto Rican. He's half Mexican and I think he's half Mexican Hondurian. more i see acorn you just
02:00:43
Speaker
But Morning Wombat says, yeah, you got to stand on principle in these situations. Or Keyshawn Tank have enough of a following where they can make big fights other than Teal or Ryan. Teal and Ryan are disgraced. They are. oh They are.
02:00:59
Speaker
I used to ride with homie too, man. that's the hor That's the hurtful part about it. I was a fan. rock pan few people ru and for Came out dressed like Michael Jackson. Came out dressed like Michael Jackson that one fight against Richard Comey. and then you mill said like He was a culture.
02:01:16
Speaker
Lomachenko fight. I argued to death with people that he won that fight. and then it's just like okay Now you want to do all the racial stuff. I can't rock with you. I'm not going to do that. Can't do it. yeah how you rock the hard I would make the argument that fighters that have fought on ESPN under their banner and top rank, if they are kind of like divas in matchups because they match them up so well with something that's going work for them, it just paints this unrealistic picture of talent.
02:01:46
Speaker
It does. Like, you know, and then when they get in there with somebody that that's really about that, like a Cambosos overhand, right? First round sat him down type stuff. You know what I mean? i saw Yeah, I got a hole in my throat. My career is over.
02:02:03
Speaker
Come on, bro. You you fought on ESPN two years in a row after the Heisman ceremony. That's prime time. were with you, bro.
02:02:14
Speaker
That's true. Well, it's just like PVC fires across the street. you like you talking about ideas It's like PVC fires across the street. It's what you're stupid to. We get this thing off the rails.
02:02:29
Speaker
oh have ah before we get this thing off the rail ah Boxing News. Hey, look, man, y'all know how I get down.
02:02:39
Speaker
I need an interview with Miss Clarissa Shields because I got some respect to put on you on some historical type stuff. We got to um we gotta let it be known, man. she should She should be the highest paid athlete in the world based off of her achievements.
02:02:55
Speaker
And the fact that she don't got sponsors um that are, she got to get medical treatment from other people, you know what I'm saying, versus her having the bread to just do it herself. is foul.
02:03:07
Speaker
and she she not at all Y'all need to put some respect on Clarissa. She need she should probably already have a statue of herself somewhere in a famous place because she's earned it. You don't get undisputed in all those weight divisions. don't care who you fighting.
02:03:22
Speaker
All those weight divisions. Well, she got like 16, 17 fights and she's four divisions undisputed. Come on, man. That's the definition of pound-for-pound fighter. ask shit. Hey. you asked me she a She need a Statue of Liberty type size statue.
02:03:39
Speaker
And Flint, some big shit looking over the water. Two-time gold medals. I said this at the last room that we did when she won that fight. I said they need to do something for her because we have not seen a fighter like this.
02:03:53
Speaker
And if it was so easy, then why hasn't someone else done it? And her documentary movie was good. so And I feel like all that stuff that surrounded it, she shouldn't have had they shouldn't have had to have been ah and an attention war to do something that was going cause some public stunt in order for people to go watch her movie. People should have been naturally attracted to go watch it.
02:04:12
Speaker
And I suggest you all do because you will see something that will make you think a little differently about how she is and where she got to be where she's at. So let's just put some respect on it. That's my information about the news. And y'all need to, hey, listen.
02:04:27
Speaker
Don't try to take credit from a person by accusing them of doing something that you don't have proof of. Yeah.
02:04:36
Speaker
And my other thing, and I'm going to add to that because i feel the need to say this as,
02:04:45
Speaker
a person who's played a lot of sports, as a person who has, uh, partaken in the, the, uh, the Mary Jane in the, in the, in the, uh, Mary Joanna, uh, before in my life.
02:05:03
Speaker
Um, you know, that has nothing to do with performance enhancing capability. and jack They would even think of suspending what you just mentioned, the greatest woman's boxer of all time. I think at this point we can say far of, I mean, hands down,
02:05:23
Speaker
I mean, at one point you might've thought it was Christy Martin, maybe, you know, Ali, maybe, you know, Amanda Serrano, shout out my boy, but I think we all know Clarissa Shields his heads and tails above any other woman fighter ah boxer in history.
02:05:37
Speaker
And, The fact that she is so dominant, shout out to Morning Wombat, who says Shields is so dominant, she can't find competition in and boxing. She had to go to MMA in order to encounter some resistance.
02:05:49
Speaker
The weed test BS with the Mission Commission is a waste of every to one's time. And I want to say I completely 180,000% agree with this. and eighty thousand percent agree with it I am sick and tired of boxing, especially WADA and Basada and all of these other drug agencies that have helped to perpetuate drug usage, that helped Lance Armstrong use a bunch of drugs and cover it up in order to win the Tour de France.
02:06:23
Speaker
so many other right for money right for money they ain't doing no other reason to money oh you got a cash cow let's milk it oh he's using steroids oh well well no one saw that okay so and and you're gonna start getting on people for using marijuana which is not in a but her performance enhancing drug it is a it is a it's a It's a downer.
02:06:46
Speaker
It is a decompressor. It is a anti-anxiety, anti-depression, whatever people are using it for, usually for medication purposes. You cannot have yourself be disqualified and taking your belts away and giving to girls that are never going to be able to beat you in a lifetime boxing.
02:07:07
Speaker
Someone help me out. Someone talk to me. No, you're It's like the John Jones thing. like He don't got lost to me. He would be beat the brakes, to the ankles, the vajangles, and whatever other type of funny body part old boy had on and beat them all off of.
02:07:23
Speaker
So, equation you know. and it And, you know, it's funny you say that because Matt Hamill recently, they did a procedure where he can hear now. Oh, yeah. john bills Yeah.
02:07:33
Speaker
They need a procedure. He can finally hear. Remember Hamill? Yep. Matt Hamill. Man. Josh, what you think about this? What do you think about Clarissa Shields? Oh, I think she's a top tier in boxing as far as her accolades, what she's been able to accomplish and everything. And I agree.
02:07:53
Speaker
Yeah, I don't think this is something she should be suspended for, especially in light of some of the relaxation. We've seen it from a legal perspective just across the country and all of that stuff. So...
02:08:07
Speaker
I'm leaning that same direction. Let me follow up. Should these organizations even be testing for marijuana at this point? Waste of money. I feel like they shouldn't. I feel like that's something they should not be testing for.

Clarissa Shields' Recognition

02:08:21
Speaker
That's my personal opinion there.
02:08:23
Speaker
And i think it'll go a long way once that is removed from marijuana. the testing or banned substance list right there. And I think, yeah, this this is similar to what happened with Keyshawn. He had a similar question where he tested positive for marijuana as well. Took a fight away.
02:08:44
Speaker
I think, yeah, there's... They put a negative stigma or association to it or whatever, but these athletes, I mean, they put their body through different things and it's been cleared for medicinal use in a lot of situations. So I don't understand why it would be there.
02:09:02
Speaker
Yeah, we could have a whole program on reefer madness and how the bullshit of this country bringing up marijuana just because it was used by black and brown people in the 20s and 30s. And they tried to outlaw it because, um you know, they weren't participating as much. But now, I mean, there's probably more white people that smoke weed than than other races anyways.
02:09:23
Speaker
I'm talking with Poppy. What do you think? Yeah, I mean, you know, that's I personally, um you know, and and especially i guess I guess we have an issue, whereas, um you know, each states and the commissions and stuff like that, they have different, you know, they're all following the same rules and and regulations. They just kind of they do their own thing.
02:09:46
Speaker
And um honestly, the the real problem with the whole medical situation is that it's not federally approved and it should have been federally approved. It was federally federally disapproved as a tactic to use to lock people up, unfortunately. And it worked very well.
02:10:04
Speaker
yeah So, um you know, that's how i feel about that. And I think that, you know, and so those tests are extremely expensive. so it's ah it's So it's a waste of resources, number one.
02:10:15
Speaker
um You can just do away with that. But I do i do think that you know fighters should be tested year-round. If you're a professional boxer, it's like you got that's your job for year-round and you should be tested um randomly, at least at least quarterly, yeah you know as long as you have an active license or whatever. That's how I feel about that.
02:10:33
Speaker
But I just, you know like I said, and that's why I brought it up, I just, you know, I think Clarissa Shields, at the end of the day, we're gonna be looking back to be like, dang, you know why we didn't give her her flowers while she was still alive. And so what? Has she got a cocky personality?
02:10:47
Speaker
you know it's It's not cocky. it's It's only cocked and cocky and conceited to some of y'all out there who ain't got an athletic bone in your body and you don't have the type of self-esteem that a person who has worked their entire life doing something has.
02:11:03
Speaker
You get that type of confidence from going through the fire and coming out first every time you try it. So for a person who has been the best at everything they've done, the first time they tried it, you've got to have some respect for them and stop calling them cocky and conceited. They're confident based off of their abilities and they got the proof is in the pudding. So,
02:11:29
Speaker
That's all I'm saying.

Racial Bias in Sports

02:11:30
Speaker
And let me take that even further. And I'll be the one to say this because I know that it may be a little less harsh when it comes for me than the three of y'all.
02:11:40
Speaker
There is a there is a a word when you call a Caucasian champion something great. When you call Tom Brady, when you call Christy Martin, when you call these champions great, you call them confident.
02:11:54
Speaker
You call them strong. But when it's a black or brown person, They get called cocky. They get called arrogant. They get called brash. And all these other adjectives that only describe more of the way people feel about the skin color of the person versus how they're actually acting.
02:12:13
Speaker
Because if you give me any other white boxer in history that is a great boxer, they got the same bravado, the same shit talking, the same anything else that any other skin color skin fighter has. Brown, black, purple, yellow, blue, green, or otherwise.
02:12:29
Speaker
But the fact is that she's black and it happened with Layla Ali too. When she was coming out and being cocky, you don't like it because of the color of the skin. You don't like it because they're not being cocky. Because when Christy Martin did it, oh, she's the greatest thing. It's like, yeah.
02:12:47
Speaker
And I love Christy Martin. Let's get that straight. That's my boo. We have a relationship. We're going together. don't think she sweeps that way. No, she doesn't. but we're or when Or when you're Conor McGregor, you can break into Madison Square Garden. literally stole what I was about to say.
02:13:02
Speaker
Jesus Christ. ah Grab a dolly, throw it through a bus window, yeah and injure people, and don't get in trouble, and don't get deported. Right. and word The word to word.
02:13:15
Speaker
The word you're looking for also Omar, is Moxie. when comes to quarterbacks and stuff, they have Moxie. my ah yeah pop you I was about to say same thing with Conor McGregor. Conor does his antics and you know who the fuck are you and all that stuff. Okay, cool. It's cute. but But when Mayweather does it... yes That's a great comparison. but you know What is he?
02:13:35
Speaker
you know It's one of those... at Mayweather was cool like Denzel until he had to be the crooked guy in training day until he got an Oscar. so but Mayweather was a cool pretty boy until he had to fight Oscar and turn into money mayweather and turned into that persona and been in 24 7 on hbo which everyone which everyone copied you know saying so he had to switch it up kind like hulk hogan turning hill nwo to kind of revamp oh yeah hey man what if mayweather and uh oscar had a deal say hey man if you lose the fight you got to wear a banana hammock and run through the casino in las vegas
02:14:16
Speaker
I am definitely not going to lose this fight. I should probably lose on purpose. I'm just not sure what's with your scenarios tonight. Kilts.
02:14:29
Speaker
I'm not sure where your head is at tonight, brother. Standing on business. read I read some type of book that said something about being fruitful and multiply. That don't mean... You read Thomas Sutra. That's what you read. Hey, I might have read that too.

So have some humanity, seek kindness in it, and you know help help people. Start with the elderly, because that's just what we do. We respect the elderly.
02:16:11
Speaker
Help people find somebody to hug and, you know, don't get through this like we get through everything else. Just might be some people getting their ass whooped and robbed to it. We're still here to help.

We still want to do it. I feel like me and Poppy could hang out and have a good time. We think a lot of the same ways about a lot of things. um I second everything he said, man. it's super cold tonight. It's like 10 degrees in Nashville.

All right. Clubber D, before we get on out of here, my friend, I know you got some MMA news you want to touch on. Yeah, last but not least, just ah everybody in the MMA realm, you know I'm we Ilya Tapora has given up his featherweight belt. He's moving to ah lightweight.
02:17:21
Speaker
Oh! So, Islam, Ilya's coming. yeah He's coming for you. um So, they already announced that... ah oh Alexander Boronowski. See, this late now.
02:17:35
Speaker
him now that's oh He's against ah Diego Lopez. They're going to fight for the belt. That's happening pretty soon. I think it's a UFC 35 with a featherweight.
02:17:45
Speaker
Also, we got Bilal Muhammad against Jack Della Meladada. I probably pronounced that wrong. Meladada. It doesn't matter. Bilal Muhammad. that has belt Also, it's late. I'm tired.
02:17:57
Speaker
um and We also got Patti Tabati. Patti Pimbleton will be fighting Michael Chandler. That should be a banger. Patti Pimbleton is fighting Michael Chandler.
02:18:09
Speaker
don't know if it's going to be on the same card or the next card, 315 or a 316. I could be wrong, but like I said, my notes. And then also, Yair Rodriguez be fighting Patrici Pitbull.
02:18:24
Speaker
Coming up from Bellator, the Bellator champion. aside for you see He's fighting Yair Rodriguez. That should be a beggar. Even though Pitbull's kind of old, he's like 37 years old. He is the man. He's a great fighter.
02:18:35
Speaker
But he will be fighting Yair Rodriguez. Hopefully gets through him. gets a title shot. That's all I got with MMA right now. Wait, hit me with your second story again. What was that about? lost it for second.
02:18:45
Speaker
Which one? Well, the second story. The second story you talked about. ah Alexander Bocanowski going against... Yes, alex Alexander the Great. three yeah four 314. Clear it up. three fourteen um move by yeah 314.
02:18:57
Speaker
