Speaker: Hello and welcome back to another episode of the AI Driven Marketer. I'm Dan Sanchez, my friends call me Danchez, and I'm still on this journey to master AI in 2024. And today I want to talk about something simple. Yeah, I found is something that I'm using in my own AI journey more and more. And that is this desktop app that OpenAI just shipped. If you've been listening to the show not long, you know that chat GPT is kind of my main AI tool. And while there's other tools I use like Mid -Journey,
Speaker: or maybe some other tools that are just kind of baked into the other software I use. Chat GPT is kind of the core thing that I use. I've certainly made considerations moving over to Microsoft Copilot, but I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet. But when they announced all the updates for their Spring update, the desktop app was really intriguing to me because actually I don't use a smartphone at all. And that's a story for a different time of why I got rid of my smartphone.
Speaker: So I've actually not had the JET GPT iPhone app and I haven't been able to use an audio recorder that they've kind of pre -built to the app before launching this desktop app. So this is kind of my first rodeo interacting with JET GPT in a more audio driven way.
Speaker: in the spring update they announced a new feature coming on to where like the audio is going to be super clean and it's where that has like the Scarlett Johansson voice and like you can interrupt it and all that kind of stuff that hasn't released yet i i can't wait for that you know when that comes out this will be even more true but uh i wanted to talk about how i'm actually using the audio version of chat gpt in order to do more of the work that i'm just doing naturally
Speaker: on a day -to -day basis with AI, because I find that typing these really long super prompts can be quite tedious sometimes, especially if they're just for like one -off tasks. Having a transcription tool, I was even using tools like what I'm recording this video on as a tool called TELA, makes it really easy for me to record myself and my camera
Speaker: and then cut between the camera and the screen really easily. It's a great little tool, check it out. I believe it's in the tool section of AIDrivenMarketer .com. You can read more about TELA and watch my overview of it.
Speaker: Um, but I was even using it just to get the transcription to give a long prompt to then copy and paste over into chat GPT. And it's kind of frustrating, but now that's just kind of native in chat GPT. And I wanted to show a demo real quick of just something really simple. I did even just the other day when I needed some help that AI is just really good at, but I did, I wanted to make it short and simple and I didn't want to make it like, okay, let me think through writing this whole thing out and then make this robust one time super prompt. Um.
Speaker: And instead, I just went open and opened it up in my desktop app. And here, I'll even model it for you exactly what I did here. And I'll just let the context of the prompt speak to what I was trying to figure out. So here I have the desktop version of chat GPT open. If you're following along in audio, just know that you'll be able to hear this and kind of understand what I'm doing without seeing it. Speaker: Hi ChachiPT, I need some help real quick. I'm learning the guitar and I don't really understand the letters well across the different strings. So could you help me learn what the letters across the strings are by coming up with a funny little phrase that helps me memorize the letters of the strings in order. Kind of like how we use the phrase, please excuse my dear aunt Sally,
Speaker: to remember the order of operations in math back in grade school. What's the equivalent for the strings on the guitar so I could always remember the order of the strings? For the standard tuning of a guitar, the strings from the lowest to the highest pitch are E, A, D, G, B, and E. A funny phrase to remember them could be, Eddie ate dynamite. Goodbye, Eddie. This way, you can easily recall the order of the strings. Oh, that's good. Thank you, chat GPT.
Speaker: You're welcome, happy playing. If you have any other questions. And there you go. And just interacting with it like that is really helpful because look how long this prompt is. It would have taken me a bit to just type that out, but it's so much easier to click record and just start just talking, right? That's how we used to delegate when we were back in the offices and talking to people like you used to turn over and talk to your neighbor or maybe do a direct report across the office and be like, hey, Jenny,
Speaker: You have a moment? And they'd be like, sure. Like, how's it going with that one report? Could you change it over to me? I'm working on this PowerPoint. I just need it for this one slide real quick. I noticed you had it open on your desktop. Like, sure. Like, these quick little verbal things help a lot. When you have to go and formally type it out, it's kind of a pain. And I find just being able to open up the voice recorder and just start talking to get it out of my mind and out into GPT is just so much faster.
Speaker: and like what I just gave it here even though it's a fun little personal thing is my my daughter and I are learning how to play the guitar and needed to remember the order of the the strings uh this was something uniquely good that something ai could uniquely do that's good otherwise it would have taken me a long time to come up with a funny little sentence to put those letters together um he ate dynamite goodbye goodbye eddie man come on that's memorable um
Speaker: AI is really good at coming up with funny little creative things like that on the fly. So this was a good use case for it, but I'm only going to need this once, because now I'm always going to remember Eddie ate dynamite. Goodbye, Eddie. Right. And you probably will too. So there's all these kinds of use cases where I'm using AI for these one off things. Hey, do this funny little creative thing. Hey, come up with some things for this. Hey, but I want to give it more context. And that's where this is really, really helpful.
Speaker: Oftentimes, we're used to using it like a search, where we just type in a few words or maybe four or five words, and then we just call it good, and we pull up something useful on Google search, maybe refine it a few times. In AI, we have to be more specific in order to get back more precise.
Speaker: feedback from AI. In the future, AI will probably ask us for more information and get it out of us, but for now, we have to be more proactive in giving it the context that it needs in order for it to give us back what we really are hoping to get out of it. And I find that this little audio tool, being able to have a direct conversation with it, or you can even just click this microphone here and start recording. You can see it's here. It's recording my voice. I can click done.
Speaker: and it's going to transcribe it really quick. That's another way to do it in case you need to edit it or paste something else with it, maybe like a transcript to a podcast or something. So there's actually two different ways to get your voice recorded to speed up your prompt delivery with OpenAI. And as the new voice and conversation model drops soon in this app, it's only going to be 10X more robust in your ability to have these dynamic conversations with AI all day in order to become more productive in your marketing work.
