CODES

00:04:55
CODES
appreciate you. She's such a wonderful person.
00:05:02
CODES
Alright guys, today we're going to be talking about being in still
00:05:10
CODES
It's quite a very timely topic in such a moment like this, I know.
00:05:16
CODES
It's really not a coincidence that a lot of things are going on now. We already know that it's obviously the end time. It's all signs and and cues of His coming. is at hand so a lot of things are happening around us of course it's something that incites fear it's something that incites panic it's something that incites depression people are going through a lot people's houses a lot of people have lost their houses in the past few weeks or few months to say the least like it's
00:05:49
CODES
someone could wake up in a lovely house and the next thing in their house is on fire the next day. That's really terrible. Like there's no, there's no, like, how do you even, kind where do you even start to console them?
00:06:01
CODES
Where do you even start from? It's so terrible. Like our prayers are going out to whoever is, you know, affected in, in the fire outbreaks in California. Like our prayers goes out to you all of you, praying that God will console you and recompense you for all your losses.
00:06:19
CODES
Because his word says that he would. He would restore years. And the locusts have eaten. And the canker worms, the caterpillars have destroyed. He will restore those years. So all that you lost will be restored. In the name of Jesus. I'm praying that you find comfort and peace. Through these hard times.
00:06:36
CODES
And I know a lot of people are going through. Losses also from the plane crashes. And a lot of things. It's just. It's just going from. ah listen Like. All we need to do is just to stay prayed and stay close to God at this point because a lot of things are going on. There's so much uncertainties of what next is going to happen.
00:06:57
CODES
People you never imagined you would lose, you're losing them. So it's like it's it's so important and so crucial that you stay close to God and you maintain an intimate relationship with God because His coming is really, really near than we even thought.
00:07:13
CODES
it would have been so i'm praying that God will give us the grace and empower us to live holy and righteous in the sinful generation and have a committed close relationship with jesus christ and if you really haven't surrendered your life to God there are so many signs out there for you to know that your life is not in your hands if you're thinking that you're going to be going around doing whatever living your life as you please and like having what you call it a lot of us say that we're exploring.
00:07:46
CODES
With all your explorations, you haven't still found peace in your life. So it's not really an exploration. To me, exploration is exploring the goodness of God and finding peace in Christ. So if your exploration isn't bringing you peace and wholeness and connection with God, i don't know what kind exploration that is.
00:08:04
CODES
I really don't know. But I'm praying that you find this moment to be a sensitive season. I'm praying that your God will open the eyes of your understanding, whoever is listening to this.
00:08:18
CODES
Open your spiritual senses to be sensitive to the signs in this season and this end time, to know that it's important for you to have a close relationship with God, confessing your sins to Jesus Christ and asking Him forgiveness, receiving that forgiveness and maintaining a close, intimate relationship with him.
00:08:41
CODES
Really, that's really the only safety right now. That's the only safety, place of safety, having a relationship with God. Yeah, praying that we'll take God seriously at this moment, not just because of what's happening, but to some might be wake-up call for you to take your spiritual walk with God serious, you know?
00:09:04
CODES
We can't be living like everything is all physical. We live in a spiritual world, okay? And we need to all stay prayed up. But yeah, down to our topic of today. We're going to talking on being still.
00:09:19
CODES
Like I mentioned, there's a lot going on. And there's a lot of reasons to be afraid. But although we have reasons to be afraid, we do know that we have the word of God that supersedes every other prophecy, every other demonic prophecy of the enemy.
00:09:38
CODES
You know, a lot of us hear a lot of things in our mind. Like when we go through stuff and we're hearing things happening, the devil will always speaks fear to us and tells us, what makes you think you're going to be alive?
00:09:51
CODES
That's a demonic prophecy because scripture says that you would you would be satisfied with long life and prosperity. And scripture says that you would not die. Personalize it and say, I will not die.
00:10:04
CODES
I shall live to declare the goodness of God. So anything else outside of the word of God that you're hearing in this time of fear, in this time of chaos going on, like shut up those voices in your head that is not in line with the word of God.
00:10:21
CODES
Shut them up with the word of God. Repeat back the word of God to them. To whatever voice is speaking to you. If that voice is speaking. Fear and hopelessness. Tell them that you have hope in Jesus Christ. And make sure you actually really do have hope in Jesus Christ.
00:10:35
CODES
If you surrender your life to him. Because saying that you have hope in Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ doesn't know you. That's really a joke. That's some kind of joke that you're giving to the devil right there. Make sure that you have your life figured out with God and that your confession is valid, right?
00:10:51
CODES
Okay. Yes. And let's just go to real quick. I just don't want to take too much of a time in this episode. So we're going to go real quick to Psalms 46.
00:11:06
CODES
Yes, that's the scripture.
00:11:08
CODES
Yeah, Psalms 46 from verses 10. It says, be still and know. I'm actually reading from the Amplified a Version.
00:11:18
CODES
i just love that translation. It says, be still and know. Recognize, understand that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations.
00:11:32
CODES
I will be exalted in the earth. I think the key word here is recognizing and understanding that God is God.
00:11:44
CODES
You know, it's so hard to do that when you're going through a lot of chaos. when you When you're in a season where there's so much things going on, there are plane crashes everywhere, the fire outbreaks everywhere, people are dying, like there are flu like all kinds of diseases going on and spreading, you know?
00:12:00
CODES
Like, how do you how do you know that God is God?
00:12:06
CODES
recognizing and understanding who God is.
00:12:10
CODES
To understand who God is, there's no other way to understand who God is than through his word. Because the word of God tells you who God is, His promises, who He is.
00:12:23
CODES
And a lot of us like to have a way that we describe God depending on the situations that we're going through. Some of us, when we're going through a lot of things,
00:12:37
CODES
I go through a lot of things. And at some point, it would make me question God's presence. It would make me question who really God is.
00:12:47
CODES
But what I found myself doing lately is going back to the word of God. Because a lot of times the devil would lie to you if your knowledge of God is shaky.
00:12:59
CODES
If you have a shaky foundation in God, if you don't really know who God is, the enemy would always capitalize on that. And really poke at that so much to like make make you come to a point that you really doubt the existence of God because of what you're going through.
00:13:15
CODES
So in order for you not to get to that point, you always have to remind yourself of who God is through His word. Because it's so easy to forget. Remember, I always emphasize that you have to know that our brain our mind is depraved. We have a depraved nature.
00:13:31
CODES
And it's so easy for us to see things in a negative way, in negative light. Because we're depraved. We need to be reminded of the goodness of God. We need to be reminded of God's love for us and His sacrifice, His atonement for our sins.
00:13:47
CODES
We always have to be reminded of that. And based on the way that God has delivered us from things in the past, we always have to remember that and be grateful to what He's done for us.
00:13:58
CODES
Because when we remember His goodness and we're showing gratitude to him and we're praising him for the way he's delivered us in the past, it gives us a lot of courage. It gives us a lot of hope.
00:14:10
CODES
It increases our faith that He would deliver us from future problems.
00:14:15
CODES
I'm saying this from experience because I've been there before. I had to learn the art of gratitude and remembering God's goodness and remembering, reminding my spirit, soul, and body, my whole mind that God has been good to me.
00:14:30
CODES
So the little things that are happening to me, the chaos that might be going on is not a definition of God's absence. No. Yes, God is always present. Remember that Jesus Christ was present.
00:14:43
CODES
When there was a storm going on in the boat. He was actually sleeping. taking It was really chilling out. But the people who were in the boat didn't know who was with them. And that's why they were shaking.
00:14:55
CODES
That's why they were so afraid. And they let the the situation and the chaos. And the storm going on around them. their mind. And made them doubt the presence of God with them. They had a like they had God with them in that boat. They had Jesus Christ with them.
00:15:10
CODES
But they were blinded because of the storm going on around them. So I want you to close your eyes from whatever is going on around you. I'm not just saying this for saying sake. This is something that I've gone through.
00:15:22
CODES
I feel like sometimes I'd be going through stuff just so I can be able to give this testimony to people. like Because sometimes some things I'd be going through, like it doesn't really make any sense. But if I'm thinking back to it right now, I'm like, the only way I'm able to tell you guys all these things that I've been sharing in this podcast is basically from experiences from what God has delivered me from.
00:15:42
CODES
And that's why I have so much faith and so much assurance that He would always deliver you because the word of God was my victory. And there's no other victory elsewhere aside from the word of God. And Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the word of God. So you have Jesus Christ and your faith is anchored in Him
00:16:01
CODES
You're good. You're good for sure. okay Yes, um so Becky and going to answer a few questions um regarding what it means to be still.
00:16:13
CODES
And if you for any reason have questions regarding this episode and you're concerned or something is not really clear to you or you're having struggles with something, some situations and you don't really know how to apply word of God or apply the scriptures to that situation.
00:16:30
CODES
that's why we've provided a platform for you guys to always reach out to us. We have an email our email on our YouTube page. We have like our email on and Instagram page. We have our email
00:16:44
CODES
Literally, me anywhere that you can reach out to us on social media, we have our information there. You can send us a DM on on Instagram and also send us an email at covenantdiaries2024 at gmail.com.
00:16:59
CODES
So, yeah, if you're concerned with something or you have prayer requests again, just send us a DM on there, okay? Alright, you wanna start with the first questions? We're just gonna answer this however we're led to answer it.
00:17:16
CODES
You wanna go with the first question? I feel like you just... I think you spoke a lot. You literally just... was just giving an introduction of what were going to talk about. Yeah, but that sounded like more than a lot.
00:17:28
CODES
Like, you pretty much answered the first... I think you did answer the first first question. Yeah, without even realizing that you answered the first question. Oh, I'm sorry.
00:17:40
CODES
Okay, so what what does it mean to... What does it mean to you personally? Since I've answered mine. What is being still and knowing that God is God? I think, um,
00:17:55
CODES
God is peace. To know God is to know peace. Right. That's right. So the absence of peace is, is the presence of chaos or raging chaos. And i think you also touched on,
00:18:11
CODES
um And that was what i was I was thinking about. I was like, okay, I'm going to share this. But you already shared it about the disciples. when um When Jesus told them let's go on the other side.
00:18:23
CODES
How they got into the boats. And and it's not, well, they might not really know who was in the boat with them, but let's, um, if we're to think about it, and mean, the disciples were still fresh.
00:18:37
CODES
They were still born again, right? They were still fresh in their faith. Yeah. totally ah have a deeper revelation of yeah And also, you know, they didn't have, they didn't get to the point of exercising authority.
00:18:49
CODES
They didn't know. Yeah. So, and obviously they were still growing in their faith. I like that you mentioned that aspect of didn didn't know how to exercise authority yet. Yeah. and yeah So because a lot of us most times because of how much fear has bounded us or has weakened us.
00:19:08
CODES
Right. We don't even nobody. Some people don't even remember to speak authority. Right. Even when you take a look at when Jesus said when when Jesus rebuked the storm, he said, peace be still. It's a command.
00:19:20
CODES
There is no negotiation. right He spoke with authority. right Even this ah like the disciples, they didn't even understand what authority is. Like I said, they were still fresh in their faith.
00:19:33
CODES
I mean, I remember when I first gave my life to Christ, didn't even know what exercising authority I was about to say that. I wanted to take us back to memory lane because it's so easy as pastors kids to be so comfortable in that comfort zone because our parents are pastors and we're So comfortable. I can relate it to the disciples' experiences. They had Jesus there, so they didn't have any need to like exercise that authority because, I mean, Jesus is always with us.
00:19:59
CODES
And sometimes we have that mentality as pastors' kids. the parents are always there. They pray over us. They speak the word over us. So we don't have... we haven't really been faced with circumstances that are made, that has made us independent and stand, meet test really our faith in God. If we really are following God by yourself or we're following God through our parents, you know?
00:20:20
CODES
So it's really important to know that when you have that <unk> exercise in that spiritual authority knowing who your God is and not just always staying in your comfort zone a test of the the the level of intimacy of your walk with God is when you are faced with storms like this are you quick to chicken out or are you quick to face it soar on wings like an eagle Because the eagles, they thrive through storms. Like they see it as an opportunity to be elevated.
00:20:55
CODES
Are you going to be like an eagle in the midst of a storm or like a chicken in the storm? I'm so glad that you brought that but that up because it's so realistic.
00:21:07
CODES
Yeah, sometimes it's not always going to be about just giving up too easily. Sometimes, you know, as individuals growing, still growing in faith, newly born again, you know, and most times we're not faced with situation like this that um that challenges us to, you know, to exercise authority. Right. Sometimes challenges, situations might be new to us and we don't know, you know, the right key or the right prayer to pray.
00:21:35
CODES
So, and, you know, when you're still, when you just got born again, you feel like... That's true. There's a lot that goes in there, right?
00:21:47
CODES
And also, most times, people don't recognize that God is always with them. You know?
00:21:55
CODES
I think I was trying to relate it to how the scripture...
00:22:01
CODES
you know, um uses the dove to describe the nature of the Holy Spirit that is so sensitive. And scripture also says that we should be wise as a serpent, but harmless like a dove.
00:22:13
CODES
And we noticed that the qualities of a dove is very gentle, very gentle, very sensitive. And one thing I learned from Bible study is that the dove understands season change.
00:22:29
CODES
right the dove understands season change so we don't have to feel the fire like yes God reveals himself in different ways and God doesn't expect He doesn't wants us to come to a point that we always need the the big big big stuff the big shebang and like the boom and like the extreme revelation of God for us to know that He's there even in this still small voice, He wants us to be so intimate with him that even when everywhere is so chaotic and it's so hard to see you God's presence, He wants us to come to a point of knowing that He's always there, that assurance of salvation, that assurance of faith from close intimacy with God, knowing who God is.
00:23:16
CODES
Because sometimes that we go through stuff, we we think that God is not there because we're not, hearing God or we're probably going through a test and God is quiet and listen looking at how we're going to handle it but to us we feel like because we're not hearing god or seeing god revealing we're relating our christian walk with feeling it's not always about the feeling sometimes you don't feel anything in your christian walk sometimes you don't really feel like praying but you do it because you know that's what you need to do we walk by faith and not by sight and not by feelings right it's it's all by faith but
00:23:51
CODES
you're literally in and you're hitting the right spot like that i'm sorry it just keeps on bringing out the thoughts when you mention stuff like that yeah even how the disciples when they when the wind did the storm was raging they were like teacher are you kidding me don't you care that we're literally about to drown that was hilarious Right?
00:24:11
CODES
Don't you care that we're about to drown?
00:24:16
CODES
Like, don't you care? Right. We're literally in this boat with you and you just laying down there acting like this is not even your business and we're about to drown.
00:24:26
CODES
Don't you care? You know? And that's how some of us are, right? We get to a situation. We get to a point where the problems is about to drown us. And we're asking God, really? I have prayed and I fasted. Can't you see what is going on with me?
00:24:39
CODES
Right? Almost feeling like God don't even care about you. And I felt, i trust me, i have felt that sometimes. You know where I get to the point like, God, why? Why? Why me? Why? Look at me about to drown. Why me?
00:24:54
CODES
Right? And we tend to forget the person who is who is ahead of us and who is always with us. so Right? We don't even see that. We don't recognize that.
00:25:05
CODES
Because we get overwhelmed and we get drowned with with anxiety, with the problems surrounding us. And we forget that those three men that were in the fire and the and the and the man that saw the fourth person in the fire.
00:25:19
CODES
but We always forget, we always, always forget that someone is always with us. Right? We don't understand the presence that we carry when we walk with God.
00:25:34
CODES
We don't always see that. We can't see that. How can you even see that when anxiety is rounding you down, when your problems is are eating you up, right? The purpose of the chaos is to blind you from actually seeing the existence and the presence of God in your life, which is why He said he made a command, peace, be still.
00:25:53
CODES
There was no negotiation in there. It was spoken with authority. Peace be still. I am not negotiating with you, problem. I am not negotiating with you, stump. Right? I don't have to beg you to stop. I just said, peace be still.
00:26:07
CODES
Persistency, declaring that authority over your situation. yeah Because those situations, they are very stubborn. The enemy is very stubborn. Demonic attacks are very stubborn.
00:26:18
CODES
So, you don't overcome a stubborn spirit with... a one kind of like one-time attitude like a a microwave mentality like oh i'm gonna just pray one time and then that's it that's why we always we always need to remember that God is always in control of every circumstances we go right nothing takes Him on unawares even the even the storm that was raging he knew what's gonna happen he already knew but the disciples didn't even know that right God knew what's gonna happen
00:26:50
CODES
right and i'm probably who knows it was probably waiting to see if they were gonna actually say something and just come on to stop to stop but no they did not right they did not they said teacher hello hello you're just chilling laying down can't you see what is about to happen to us right now and Jesus was just peacefully laying down like nothing even bothered Him me this was chaotic to us it is chaotic but to God it's like I don't see any storm Remember the scripture also says that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. So sometimes you pray one time it's not enough because the enemy doesn't want to back down.
00:27:28
CODES
it But you also persistently repeat the word of God and prayerfully speak the word of God back to that situation over and over and over again. You pray until something happens.
00:27:40
CODES
Some problems are persistent because they're there to test the level of your faith in God if you really believe in God, the way you think that you believe in Him there is always that test of faith.
00:27:53
CODES
And one thing I'd like to mention of what really, that I didn't really remember to mention this when I was rambling and ah so passionate, rambling so passionately about um the the scripture.
00:28:07
CODES
um I forgot to mention something important that's very, very, very significant in understanding who God is and knowing what it means to be still and know that God is God understand peace as the fruit or being still as a fruit of being in a covenant relationship with God We're not in a contractual relationship with God.
00:28:39
CODES
Contracts can always be broken anytime, right? Covenant is much more deeper and more serious. We see biblical examples of covenants in God making a covenant with Noah, God making a covenant with Abraham, God making a covenant with the children of Israel.
00:28:54
CODES
We know that the signs and symbols of God's covenant with Noah is the rainbow. That when we see the rainbow, it's a reminder that God would not destroy the... earth again with flood and we know that God's covenant with the children of Israel was a mutual covenant that's something that I wanted us to understand that covenant it's mutual it's it goes both ways right it's not just one person it's two people agreeing and having a a binding agreement and mutual agreement between God and and His people
00:29:30
CODES
So even though we believe and know who God is, what are we doing in response to show that we believe in God, right? It's a demonstration of a covenant relationship with him.
00:29:43
CODES
Like to the Lord's promises to the children of Israel was like, if you do this, then I will do that. Right? Right?
00:29:55
CODES
I would bless you. would do this for you. would do this for you. I would do this for you if you obey and keep my commandments. So it's a contingency.
00:30:09
CODES
God's protection over our life and protecting us in the storm is rooted in our relationship with him. So if you're calling on God and expecting God to deliver you and you don't have any relationship with God,
00:30:25
CODES
I don't know, like, do you really open a door to a stranger when there's, like, a storm going on and there are probably people, like, robbing the next door neighbor and you as strangers, like, running away and, like, coming to your door and banging, open the door, open the door, open the door, can I can i stay with you?
00:30:43
CODES
And for any, I mean, for crying out loud, like, the the stranger could be a thief who could come in and harm your family, you know? So you wouldn't just open the door to a stranger, like, protect a stranger that you don't know because you don't know the stranger.
00:30:56
CODES
So when we're sinners, when sinners like that come to God, they're strangers to God because they don't have any relationship with God. So you expecting God to protect you when there hasn't been any initiation of covenants like
00:31:10
CODES
We first acknowledge that we're sinners and ask God for forgiveness and repent and turn away from our sins. Then God forgives us, heal us, because Jesus Christ has already paid a price.
00:31:23
CODES
And one thing you need to remember at covenant with covenant is that covenant usually includes blood. I know we people get sensitive with topics like that, but it's the truth.
00:31:38
CODES
Covenants are personal and relational, unlike contracts, right? And covenants are often sealed with blood. The blood that is a seal on this covenant is the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross of Calvary for us.
00:31:51
CODES
So we have that as a binding agreement in our covenant relationship with God. right So when you do confess your sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you live in holiness and righteousness in relationship with God, your sins are forgiven. He forgives you of your sin.
00:32:13
CODES
His promises that He has declared over your life will surely come to pass because you're fulfilling your own side of the contract ah sorry of the of the covenant and he's also fulfilling his own side of the covenant.
00:32:28
CODES
And when you do not break that covenant, God will continue to fulfill His promises. Because some of us think that when we backslide, God will still be protecting us or God will still like be doing what He has promised to do for us.
00:32:44
CODES
Remember, covenant. Remember as He promised the children of Israel. He will do this. He will make them wealthy. He will do this for them, do this for them. If they or obey Him and keep His promises and His confidence, right?
00:33:00
CODES
So as long as you're in line with the will of God, as long as you're in a relationship with God, that covenant is binding over you. So no matter what you're going through, no matter the chaos going on around you, because you're in a covenant relationship with God and God is faithful to keep His promises, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
00:33:19
CODES
Now, even though when it seems like the the the chaos or like the storm, it's looking like it's going to drown you and you don't find any peace. Like, it's like one thing or the other is happening after another. Like, if you are in a ah Job kind of situation, like Job really had it really rough.
00:33:37
CODES
He was having all bad things happening to him. Like his his his children were killed. Like all his businesses, everything caught fire. he lost everything thing simultaneously.
00:33:50
CODES
And upon that, he still maintained a covenant relationship with God. How many of us really come to that determination and persistency in sticking with God through the thick and thin?
00:34:03
CODES
Being still, in chaos, even when he was plagued with diseases and there were sores all over his body and his flesh was sticking to the ground, he still refused to curse God.
00:34:16
CODES
He refused to curse God because he know he knows and believes who his Redeemer is. That level of knowing God, that deep faith in God is really what gets you through those tough times knowing who your God is that no matter what comes your way no matter how many people are telling you are you still serving this God look what has happened to you you've been waiting on god for this and you haven't gotten this what's the point what's the whole point of your whole church thing
00:34:49
CODES
in situations like that job says i know who my redeemer is
00:34:56
CODES
Is your conviction with God or your covenant with God up to that level? And that when storms are going through, are you still because you know who God is?
00:35:08
CODES
are you Is your relationship with God up to that point that you're still not because you're able to, but because you know that God, who you believe in, would not fail you?
00:35:22
CODES
Do you have that level of trust and faith in God?
00:35:27
CODES
That's an honest question that you would have to answer. but yeah. That's my own take on what it means to be still with God. In knowing who God is. Knowing the covenant relationship you are with God.
00:35:41
CODES
Because that's what it really is. our relationship with God is a covenant relationship. It's not contractual. It's deeper than a contract. It costs someone His life. It costs someone His blood. so It's something that we have to always think about every time.
00:35:57
CODES
Alright, on to the next question.
00:36:02
CODES
a The next question is asking how can you actively practice being still to experience a deeper connection with God? i mean, ain't literally touched yeah, that's what I was saying.
00:36:15
CODES
literally didn't look at the question, to be honest. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. What are you apologizing for? Now I'm feeling like I'm being redundant, but as the spirit leads, just wherever you want to touch on, because I mean, you've pretty much said, like some of the stuff I was going to talk about, I think you pretty much emphasized that. You went at you actually went deeper than i I would have, so that was really good.
00:36:40
CODES
Yeah, you did. you You did. i don't know what else you want me to say on that. No, there's always an anointing of an older sibling. with a Don't you dare use that. Don't you dare use that of me right now. I'm sure that there is...
00:36:57
CODES
sorry freak done literally for you that boy yeah yeah um i'm sure that there is um you did I remember in a podcast episode did mention...
00:37:11
CODES
as so You did relate, narrate a story. um Actually, an experience that you went through with um taking in your exam, your licensing exam. Like, you were so... Oh, yeah. see That is so weird. You know, I was going to talk about that, but that actually skips my head. Testimony always blows my mind every time that you mention that. Yes.
00:37:32
CODES
Actively practicing being still. Yes. Because sometimes people think that peace is the absence of, like... fear sometimes fear like because let me explain this the way our brain is wired like naturally when we go through situations that are threatening right we we have a yeah so when we go through incidences it's natural when we were we're faced with something frightening Physiologically, our body is triggered, right?
00:38:05
CODES
When we perceive a threat, you know, it causes us, to our body, to re release a surge of hormones like adrenaline that causes us to either fight it or flight to escape the danger.
00:38:18
CODES
so Like subconsciously, that's internalized spiritually, right? That even though that we are faced with threatening situations, it's the natural tendency to be fearful because we're we're faced with something fearful, right?
00:38:36
CODES
But your body might be physiologically doing that as ah as a response mechanism, right? But spiritually, you can have peace by knowing that God will never fail you in that situation.
00:38:53
CODES
So sometimes your spirit would would be agreeing with God, your spirit would agree with God, but your body, your flesh is doing something different. But the more you pray and the more you you you reiterate the word of God over your life, over your body, eventually that your mind comes at peace with the word of God in your spirit.
00:39:18
CODES
So you have to fuel your spirit with the word of God such that when you're faced with that crisis, Your flesh and your body will have no other choice than to respond to what the spirit is saying.
00:39:31
CODES
That's why prayer is so encouraged when people are going through a lot in the hospitals, like chaplains going to the hospitals to pray because prayer is... brings a physiological reaction like it reduces blood pressure these are scientifically proven it reduces blood pressure because people have that faith and believe that God would deliver them so that peace of mind from knowing that God would deliver them is what eventually brings peace of mind like their heart rate is at peace because oh that thing is taken care of it's not so frightening because someone has handled it so yeah sometimes your spirit is in tune with God but then
00:40:09
CODES
your flesh has like a lot of catching up to do but that has to do with you fueling your spirit with the word of God so much that it quenches the noise that your flesh is raging through anxiety and fear and panic and all of that don't know if that makes sense or it's clear to everyone but yeah go ahead sorry becca like i said you've already explained again don't know what else sorry is it the neurological aspect or physiological aspect that i had to touch and i love neuroscience and how all of this whole thing like you know plays out but yeah um and that's uh the whole um essence of it
00:40:49
CODES
actively being still like going back to that your testimony that you were you were anxious at some point going to take that exam but you said something that really shook me Like you said something like it is what it is. Like there's this. You said that the voice told you like they ain't going to do you anything.
00:41:09
CODES
Yeah. And that was your source of confidence, because if God be before you, who can be against you? That word interpreted in your spirit was what eventually calmed you down at some point.
00:41:23
CODES
Yeah, because I wasn't ready for the exam. i I was taking classes and I had papers to write. I had tests I had to practice for. And then I had to this um certification exam I needed to take.
00:41:37
CODES
So and I had classmate of mine who actually gave me a textbook and the textbook was going to take like two or three months to study for. Oh my goodness. Yeah. So I'm like, my goodness, how in the world am I going to study this in like two weeks to go write exam?
00:41:58
CODES
yeah And then I was also going, with yeah, I was going through also going through spiritual attacks as well. yeah you did And I couldn't even sleep. So I'm sleep deprived. I'm going through stress and I'm starting to take certification. I'm writing papers. I'm starting for a test in two, three days.
00:42:17
CODES
and I was like telling God like I was I was like oh my God there's no way I'm gonna pass this exam there is no way I was so terrified very scared you know even the enemy was saying yeah you're not gonna you're definitely not gonna rewrite in this exam but even in the midst of the turbulence in my soul when the enemy was raging and external stuff that was going on, the turbulences that was overwhelming me.
00:42:40
CODES
For some reason, there was a voice, ah very still voice saying they can't do you nothing. Mm-hmm. That's what it was saying. They can't do you nothing.
00:42:52
CODES
And even with the voice, I was still scared. was still terrified. Because your body was just responding to the natural situation, right? Oh my gosh. The voice kept saying, they can't do you nothing. But I just wouldn't listen to that voice. I was terrified because my anxiety was very overwhelming. But I was like, you know what? I'm just going to go do it.
00:43:13
CODES
You know, as the voices said, they can't do you nothing. So I drove and went. And when I got there, I wanted to pee so bad. The lady didn't let me go in. That's anxiety kind of pee she flat out told me to go and pee. out of anxiety yeah She flat out told me to go to the next gas station and go pee.
00:43:31
CODES
That is not time. I was actually i was five hours on time. Oh my gosh. Was it that bad? Because I didn't remember. i i you know i had i like literally To be honest, with I didn't even remember what time the exam was set for.
00:43:49
CODES
But in my head, I thought that it was going to be a long distance. So it would be better that I go there on time and go study ahead of time. So and when i I saw the lady, she said, girl, you have five hours ahead of the time. like And she was she was mean. She was actually mean to me. didn't even like She said, I cannot let you use the bathroom because it's not time for exam. Yeah.
00:44:10
CODES
So she said, you want to pe go out there, go to the gas station, go use the bathroom there. And I went to the gas station, and you know, people were staring at me, which is a weird, weird environment. too I came back, I stayed and studied and the enemy was still raging.
00:44:23
CODES
Eventually I took the exam. It took like almost three hours. um So, and she asked me, you done? I said yeah. She said, congratulations. You passed.
00:44:35
CODES
I was like, wow, that was intense. And that was crazy. I never expected I was going to pass. But yeah, um God helped me. And yeah, i God is so good He does keep covenant. It's just the enemy just likes to always obviously lie to us because when he knows that we don't know who God is, of course, it's going to feed us with a lie of his own narrative of what he wants to think about God to disconnect our faith Him
00:45:06
CODES
and all that. But the enemy would never triumph over our minds in the name of Jesus. um The next question, um the last two questions, the it's asking what internal struggles might prevent someone from fully embracing stillness in a spiritual context.
00:45:24
CODES
um, powers of darkness, it's constantly constantly waging war in your mind, generational curses, evil family patterns can really be ah struggle that might prevent you from fully ah embracing stillness.
00:45:40
CODES
Cause some people have a generational curse in their family that, Maybe every every first son in their family have diabetes or like they have high blood pressure or mental attack or they're afflicted with schizophrenia that there is no biological underpinning to it, but no one can find the causes of it, but it just happens.
00:46:04
CODES
to one particular person in the family, generation over generation. Those are you know curses that can prevent someone from fully embracing stillness.
00:46:15
CODES
And also internal guilt. Sometimes you would the enemy would always bring back your past wrongs, sins that you've confessed to God.
00:46:27
CODES
Especially in the time when you're going through a crisis. He's going to remind you. You're going through this because of what you did two years ago. Of what you did with that person five years ago.
00:46:39
CODES
And you say to yourself, of course i've repented of the sin and and God has forgiven me. God has forgiven and forgotten. But the devil hasn't. So guess what? He's going to keep using that on you.
00:46:52
CODES
And guess where he's going to use it and when he's going to use it. When you're most vulnerable. Oh yeah, you did that because God is trying to punish you for what you did years ago.
00:47:04
CODES
Yes, God has forgiven you, but He doesn't punish you of your sin. However, depending on what kind of sin that you commit, there could be consequences. If you had relations with someone who had HIV, guess what the consequences is going to be?
00:47:22
CODES
You're going to contract HIV.
00:47:26
CODES
It happens. That's the consequences. Yes, God has forgiven you when you con confess your sins to him. But the consequences of that lingers. Right. And um yeah. Those battle of the minds, like we spoke um on on previous episodes, there are internal struggles that can really prevent you from experiencing this peace of God, this stillness, being still.
00:47:50
CODES
Those thoughts, like Rebecca said, that are raging in your mind. Right. are really an obstacle for me experiencing peace and stillness. And I'm praying that whatever battles that are raging in your mind, that God, the blood of Jesus Christ will silence them in the name of Jesus.
00:48:09
CODES
hu Anything else? Like you already said it, you know, constant um rumination of, you know, past problems or issues.
00:48:22
CODES
right that maybe something happened in the past and you were um asking God for peace and God didn't you felt like God didn't show up you know and now you are terrified because of this current problem so maybe the same problem is repeating itself and now you're asking God and God is delaying to show up but you don't understand why He's delaying you don't know what happened right you already are assuming and making conclusion the same thing that happened to you previously is wow it's happening now and maybe God is not going to show up right those things are actually you know things that usually prevent people from experiencing peace so yeah people sometimes dwell on you know the things that happened previously and they tend to conclude what is in the now with the things that happened in the past
00:49:13
CODES
and, and even if God doesn't show up, right, maybe God is just giving time. Maybe it's not just the right time yet. Or maybe He's just seeing what you're going to do. Right. Are you, are you, are you exercising faith? do you trust Are you throwing?
00:49:26
CODES
Because one of the things that usually happens is that when people pray and say, God, you know, I'm handing my problems to you. Guess what to do? They take you back. Why are you reading my mind? I'm telling you, I'm not planning this thing. No, everything that you're saying is just coming out of my mind. It's just,
00:49:42
CODES
You need to stop doing that. It's not me. The spirit is one. Like, whatever you're saying is like... Oh, my goodness. your words are like, registering ahead of time. Like, I'm saying your words for you.
00:49:53
CODES
What's going on? But, yes. That's what people usually do. it's It's like it's it's like a a battle of control. Like, God, you know, I'm going to give you my problem because, you know, I'm sick and tired and this is choking me. And the next five seconds, you're taking it back because you...
00:50:09
CODES
It's, it's, it's more of impatience and the, the, the, what's it, what's it called? It's the, it's the concept of you're not willing to delay gratification. You want instant gratification.
00:50:21
CODES
I want it now and I need it to happen, but that's not how God works. God is not the God of instant gratification. Sometimes it might be, but sometimes He might delay gratification, you know? And the reason why he's delaying gratification can be like, he's pruning you, right? Yeah.
00:50:36
CODES
He's trying to teach you some things that you've been ignoring for a very long time, right? Our timing is different from God's timing, right? The fact that we want the instant gratification right now doesn't mean that God is just going to give us that instant gratification, right? Maybe he said, you're not ready to have it yet.
00:50:54
CODES
I want to see you exercise faith. I want to see that you professing that you love me. Exercise that. I want to see that. Right. The constant going back and forth. Five seconds. Hey, God, take over, take over my, my problems.
00:51:09
CODES
And then next thing, you know what? Yeah, that's not probably going to work. Now you're taking it back. yeah So you know when you take it back, now you're complaining. Oh, I gave it to God. I prayed about it.
00:51:19
CODES
Really? How long did you pray for it? Did you leave it there or did you take it back? Yeah. You went and you took it back. Like, okay, I'm taking back my problem. No. When you leave it, well when you leave it to God, understand and have faith that he has taken over. I mean, he already took over before you even asked.
00:51:39
CODES
You know, like in the book of John chapter 14, I think verse 13 says, whatsoever he asks of me, I'll do it.
00:51:48
CODES
And the father will be glorified in the son. He said, ask. There's no restriction. Ask whatever. But when you ask, have faith that he has already done it.
00:51:59
CODES
If it's in line with His will Yeah. He's given that giving us that freedom and liberty to ask whatever thing we need. Right? Even before you Him you're asking Him to step into the situation. He's been there already.
00:52:11
CODES
He was just waiting for you to just say something. Right? He already took control. But every time He takes control, don't take the control back. Okay. don't take the con control back you're not God you're not solving your problem i mean what's the point of even asking him in the first place when you're already taking the control back allow God allow God to do what God knows how to do best
00:52:38
CODES
there's song that's coming in my head know just go on
00:52:44
CODES
I forgot how it goes, but it's something about letting control and giving control to God. we yeah um The last question, um how would you apply the concept of being still to everyday situations, even when facing challenges?
00:53:01
CODES
We actually did touch on this too. We did. We did. But yeah, the concept of being still is remembering God's promises.
00:53:13
CODES
Listen, you guys, y'all have to take the word of God seriously. Like the word of God is so true. I've had personally, I've had scriptures that I have meditated on over and over repeatedly.
00:53:27
CODES
Like if that scripture could speak right now, it's going to be like, Rachel, you're using me too much. like That's how much I have ah read the scripture. That's how much I've meditated on it. And I am,
00:53:42
CODES
seeing it into manifestation and a lot of it is coming to pass and that's because and that word is coming to pass is the word of God because his word says none of His word will return back to Him with that being accomplished so the more you read the word of God remind God of his word reminding him not because He's forgotten But you're bringing it to His attention that you know that He has promised you this.
00:54:08
CODES
And what that does for you is that it it's registering in your mind subconsciously, your spirit, soul, and body. It's registering in your mind that you know God has said this.
00:54:20
CODES
And to you, it gives you assurance that because He said it, he will fulfill it because he does not lie. He cannot lie. It's not in his nature to lie. It's not in God's nature to lie. So whatever He said, it would come to pass.
00:54:35
CODES
Though it may tarry, it will surely come to pass. It is always the waiting process of the actualization of that promises.
00:54:46
CODES
That's where a lot of us usually stumble because a lot of us are impatient and we're not willing to sit through and build character, sit through build trust and faith in God.
00:55:01
CODES
In waiting for the fulfillment of that promises. I'm not going to lie. Being in the waiting room. is very It's very challenging. it's It's not easy. It's not if a person it's not easy. That's why.
00:55:14
CODES
um ah reminding us. And reminding myself also. Because I'm not just only sharing to you guys. But I'm reminding myself also. That the word of God works. Yes in my waiting season.
00:55:24
CODES
I'm noticing a lot of things in my life. That I'm like. Now get it, the reason why a lot of things are probably not in my own timing because I could have made a huge mess of it because I was not really emotionally matured for it.
00:55:41
CODES
I was not really spiritually matured to handle such blessing or such gifts or whatnot. So I'm grateful that God is sovereign in my life, in things.
00:55:56
CODES
At some point I had it my way in the past, but I'm grateful for the mercy of God and surrendering the opportunity to surrendering to his will again and letting Him lead me. And my prayer is that God will help us out to be yielded always to Hi will and His timing so that we would get the best because God really wants to give us the best.
00:56:17
CODES
But he also, in as much as He's willing to give us the best, He's also willing for us to keep the best that He has given to us. Because if he's giving it into our hands that are not mature to handle it.
00:56:34
CODES
It's going to go to waste. So He wants to give us this gift way much more than we wanted. He wanted for us more than we desire it for ourselves. But He wants to make sure that when he gives it to us, it's going to last and he's going, it's going to bring glory to Him long term and bring others to also experience this love that He is showing us.
00:56:57
CODES
And, um you know, the way the way I picture peace, it's like, you know, when for people who's probably been on a train before, right? You get on a train and, of course, that train rack is making so much noise and it's so annoying.
00:57:15
CODES
And then you remember you have a headphone, you have headphones and you can actually play music, right? The moment you put your headphones on, you tune out from the external noise. And now it's you and the song you're listening to.
00:57:29
CODES
right so and to get to the point of stillness takes a lot of discipline right i mean even picture when you're meditating on a word obviously you have thoughts running to your head but you over time learn to ignore external noises right not just on the outside but also in your in any on the on the inside even in your mind right you understand that you want to hear God speak to you and you zone out from other noises outside and redirect your focus i think a little a woman the woman told me that the way she usually does distract herself is you know when she gets into that realm into that realm with God
00:58:11
CODES
she
00:58:14
CODES
ignores she what she does is refocus her mind on the cross when her mind is fixed on the cross her kids can come around making noises and touching her she doesn't feel it because she's out and that takes time it takes discipline it takes time it takes discipline it's not easy it's not easy And it goes back to what you i highlighted in previous episodes, the importance of um maintaining intimacy with God lies in having a quiet time, consistent quiet time in the prayer life, right?
00:58:48
CODES
Yeah. You did mention that in previous episodes. And if you don't have that consistent quiet time with God, by quiet time, having a personal time actively interact actively Listen to God, not just only making a request, but waiting to listen. I'm also speaking to myself, but waiting to listen to God speak to you and share His word with you that he has for you that moment or in that particular situation that you were asking His of.
00:59:16
CODES
waiting through to hear His word and His and His lead and it builds a lot of discipline you know and it it has to do with getting over in that impatience and wanting to just rush off and like just give out a request to God and just be out of his presence like and lord help us forgive us Jesus help us lord Just so you know, just so you understand, peace is freely given.
00:59:43
CODES
But in order to so to assess the freedom of peace, you have to align yourself with God. You have to have an intimacy with him. That's the only way you can experience fullness of peace.
00:59:55
CODES
right like i said peace is freely given but you have to be willing you know to have an its intimacy with God to align yourself with god that's the only way you can um activate or experience the fullness of peace that's true if you don't have that relationship with God you know the bible says there's no peace for the weekend right
01:00:18
CODES
when you don't have a relationship with God you can never have peace just so you know you cannot have peace if you don't have a relationship God you cannot you don't you won't even know what peace is you won't understand the concept of peace Right.
01:00:34
CODES
I remember when I was when I i know for a fact when I was living in sin. Right. I was feeling so much turbulence. I had anxiety, but I was never diagnosed. I had depression. man my anxiety was horrible.
01:00:45
CODES
Like I have to be going to the bathroom like every now and then. It was crazy. Sweaty, sweaty palms, sweating feet. yeah Like, all my gosh. Like even to the point I felt like I was even having symptoms of bipolar, too.
01:00:59
CODES
But I was never diagnosed, you know. fluctuations of mood unstable mood like oh my goodness but so when i encountered God all those things were eradicated and i felt the peace that's the thing that usually happen you feel peace You know, it's funny you're mentioning this because since we see o ourselves as different people now, because now you're mentioning that i now I'm just remembering how you were years ago.
01:01:29
CODES
It's like, it's so true. Like when you give your life to Christ, you get a whole new, you're a whole new creation and God gives you a new identity.

And that's the identity that I see you as like, you remembering this testimony just reminded me i'm like oh that's true you actually used to be like that before like the sweaty palms like panicking one time we actually went on a flight one time dad was not sure how to react because he hadn't seen you in that way but mom was like she's sweating and going to the bathroom frequently because she's just anxious of going on the plane yeah but he didn't know but i'm like now You don't have that anymore. That's true. I'm just remembering like, wow, we actually had a lot of struggles. Like we're still different now.

Yeah, that's that's what I'm saying. when you when you When you encounter God, it gives you peace that you can, even if you were to verbally explain that to somebody, who so whoever hasn't experienced that won't understand that.
01:02:31

Yeah, you have to have your own personal experience to understand, you know, what peace is. A lot of people don't you don't know what peace having peace means. That's true. When you come to Christ, Christ, like I said, God is peace, right?
01:02:45

To have peace is to have God. And when you don't have that, there's nothing else you that that there's nothing else you have. Because peace, like i said, is God. God is peace. And the stillness of peace doesn't come until you encounter God.

He is just only waiting for you to just call Him. right And most times, yeah, we don't have faith. Most times, we don't even understand that, you know...

There's a God in front of us and there's God always around us. But we fail to understand that because over time, anxiety overrides our logic and emotions.

So we feel like God is not there. He's not listening. and If God was there, you know, He would have listened. He would have stopped this. No. God has always been there. but You just have to activate right your faith and you have to speak your word in authority.
