00:01:18
CODES
it's it's not I mean, it's not really something we just plan. You know, when the spirit just gives that direction and say, hey, here's a new topic. time to go we go Yes. Here's a new topic. Go ahead and talk about this. And that's when we see that we explore.
00:01:31
CODES
And then we talk about it. Because a lot of people always think that that we just make up topic like every week, every week and we post them. No, na na no, no, no, no. We just go as the spirit leads.
00:01:43
CODES

00:01:56
CODES
All right. So... we' go go to be perfect but out to all right so You guys know Rachel usually stays long in this podcast, but I'm not a very, very, very, very long talk person.
00:02:10
CODES
I'm a very short. If Rachel was sitting down here, this is going to take eternity. But I'm a very short kind of person straight to the point. And that's what we're going to be doing today because I'm leading to this so I can do whatever I want.
00:02:28
CODES
Again, i appreciate you guys for always listening. I pray that as you continue to listen, the Lord will bless your heart, transform your heart, renew your mind, renew your spirit, and keep us holy and righteous until he's coming.

Understanding Identity in Christ

00:02:43
CODES
So as we proceed today, the topic for today is going to be identity it in Christ. Rachel, why are you looking at me? do you have something to say?
00:02:53
CODES
no go ahead. Are you sure? to say so Go, go. Okay. Now, okay. Okay. No, you you're going to have to say that. Go, go ahead and talk about that it. was some silly joke, but nevermind.
00:03:04
CODES
Nevermind. forgot it. Wow. Really?
00:03:11
CODES
Guys, you you heard that, right? But anyways, yeah. So I didn't need Christ. There's a lot of information. And I know like before, before we're going to end, I'm going to have some questions that Rachel and i are going to be exploring.
00:03:24
CODES
And I know some people have been having, some people do have a lot of questions, but hopefully as a spirit leads, leads us, we can be able to answer some questions, some intriguing questions that you guys have had on your mind or have always had on your mind.
00:03:40
CODES
Okay. Okay. So identity or identity or identity in Christ, what does that truly entail? I guess from my own perspective, I mean, if we were I guess, put it in a very simple way is who are you truly? Like, who are you?
00:04:05
CODES
you Like, do you know yourself? Who are you truly? Because one thing I've come to understand is that it's like there's two different types of identity, right?
00:04:17
CODES
First is you identify Christ, and the second one is a worldly identity. And a worldly identity can entail, like, even... You know, we actually also have, like, demonic identity, too. Yeah, for those Christ. for those who are not in Christ, right? So you get worldly identity, and you have, you know, Christ's identity.
00:04:40
CODES
And a Christ identity comes from a place of being a new creature a creation in Christ, right? Just like in 2 Corinthians 5, verse 17, it says, summary, it says that that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.
00:04:59
CODES
The old life is gone and a new life has begun. So that's pretty much what that means. Like when you... when you have a relationship with God or when you completely surrender your life to Christ, right? You, you take on a new, a new person. Yeah.
00:05:17
CODES
So you no longer represent the old person that you were, which is Satan. Right now you represent Christ because you are new in Christ. So it's almost like a beginning of a new era in your life.
00:05:29
CODES
So having a new relationship with God means that you've you've come to a point where you've acknowledged old bad lifestyle habits or the things that you were doing in the past. And now embracing the love of Jesus Christ, embracing a new person in Christ, embracing like everything that has to do with God.
00:05:49
CODES
You know, let me give a different example. Let's say here's an example.

Burdens and Identity

00:05:54
CODES
Let's say for example, somebody took, give you a backpack and the backpack was full, like was filled with so much like different books and it was so heavy.
00:06:03
CODES
And the person say, hey, Can you help me hold this backpack for like, you know, for like a brief seconds? Let me just rush down to the grocery store and just get a few things in, please. And let's say that you were standing there with that backpack and 45 minutes, the person didn't show up.
00:06:18
CODES
You know, 15 minutes, the person is yet to be seen. an hour, two hours, the person is yet to be seen. And you're standing there and you understand how heavy this bag is. Right. And your hands is aching, like you're beginning to feel pains, you know, in in every part of your body because of how heavy the bag is.
00:06:35
CODES
And after two, three hours, this person shows up and you're getting angry. Like what has kept you so long? Do you know how heavy this thing has been? And then the moment you relieve the bag and hand it over to the person, you become way lighter.
00:06:49
CODES
And now you're breathing good. You're like, oh my gosh, this feels so good. That's how heavy sin is. right yeah yes that's how the identity of sin is right you carry all this this baggage on you for so many years of your life right but the moment you decide to you know give that bag over to Jesus Christ right you feel a sense of relief a sense of hope oh my gosh a sense of peace
00:07:20
CODES
that's the way i describe you know having that identity in Christ richie you got something you want to say chipping i mean what you already said was what i had in my notes anyways but i think a lot of people do get confused when they do give their life to Christ i don't know i don't know for anyone but for me when i initially did when i when I give my life to Christ, it's not like I was very exposed to the deep truth that I'm exposed to right now at church.
00:07:57
CODES
So I couldn't understand how to navigate through finding my identity in Christ. Yes, your identity in Christ begins the moment that you surrender your life to Him and you turn away from your sinful ways and turn a new leaf
00:08:15
CODES
But...
00:08:18
CODES
Tapping into and activating that new identity requires you to know who you are now that you are in Christ. And because a lot of people wear what causes people to fall away very quickly when they give their life to Christ or the reason why people might not abide in Christ when they do surrender to Him partly has to do with them not knowing who they are as a new creation.
00:08:48
CODES
So what the devil does at the moment that you give your give your life to Christ, when you're a baby, baby Christian, you're very, very prone to the attack of the enemy because yeah you're a baby. Just like how newborns are very prone to attacks, diseases or whatever. They are very vulnerable.
00:09:06
CODES
They can't defend themselves. They defend less. In the same way, that's how you kind of are when you give your life to Christ. Although you do have spiritual authority and power. However, without knowledge,
00:09:18
CODES
because scripture says my people perish for lack of knowledge without having a solid and foundational knowledge of who God is and who you are now in Christ there is such a high possibility that you will turn back again to the world And here's another thing, too, why I want to ask, right?
00:09:35
CODES
Talking about the worldly version of you know identity. I can use myself and as an example. So when I was living in sin you know i did different i was pretty much living a double life.
00:09:48
CODES
Let me put it that way. I was living a double life while going to church, right? So I would portray myself to be a saint in front of other people. And in my secret place, I knew what I was doing.
00:10:00
CODES
And what I was doing was absolutely wrong in all shades of life, right? So... while I was still living in sin, right? And one of the things that I recognized was that every environment that I find myself in, I'm like a chameleon.
00:10:19
CODES
You blend in. I try to fake it to blend in because I didn't, but i obviously I didn't have any identity in Christ, right? So if I have, if I go into a in an environment where, you know, people are saying this or saying that.
00:10:35
CODES
And I know that's not the way i was raised, right? I tried to fit in just to be accepted by these people. So, you know, they wouldn't ignore me, right? And I had way less friends then.
00:10:46
CODES
So if the other people are busy talking, you know, I'm going to do everything within my power to try to fit in to be accepted because I didn't even know who I was. I didn't have any identity in Christ.
00:10:58
CODES
You know, i was not content with who I am, who I was as as an individual. So everywhere i find everywhere I did find myself, I had to fake it to blend in.
00:11:09
CODES
Because then if I don't, then it's going to be like I'm missing in action. So if they said this, then I have to say more so that they can be like, wow, she's bad. She's really good. I like her.
00:11:23
CODES
You know, i like you, girl. You know, just to feel loved, just to feel valued, just to feel accepted. Right. And that's the worldly version of my identity that was dealing with.
00:11:35
CODES
And i had a very... a very huge struggle with low self-esteem. I didn't love myself enough. I did not appreciate myself. I've always, when I looked at myself and look other people, I'm like, why do they have pretty nose?
00:11:49
CODES
Why do they have nice eyes? Why do they have beautiful skin? Why do they have long hair? Why is my different? Why do I look different? You know, why do they get to dress like this and get away with it? And, but when I do dress like that, then it's a problem.
00:12:02
CODES
you know all these things i was battling with i was dealing with because i didn't know who i was in Christ but the moment i found God and the moment i completely let go and gave my life to Christ i felt content i felt the love of God and i felt a peace that i never ever have ever felt before in my life and I found my value.
00:12:28
CODES
And when I walk around people, I didn't have to fake anything to make anything. i had to i had to be myself, my real self. And I didn't even care if they accepted me or not. And that's when I started, you know, knowing who my friends are.
00:12:42
CODES
Right. That's when I started a yearning for people who truly love God and not people who did not love God. You know, that's when I started guarding myself. Right. Understanding that there are things that God doesn't like.
00:12:53
CODES
Right.

Marriage and Spiritual Identity

00:12:53
CODES
Because the moment you become a new creature, everything about you change. The things you used to love before, you no longer love them. The things you used to do before, you no longer do them. Now, all your passion and your desire is just to please God, to please Jesus.
00:13:09
CODES
Because He is coming to your life and everything about you has transformed. So now I began to find purpose, right? Initially, I never found purpose. I didn't know what my purpose was, right? I found value.
00:13:20
CODES
I was content. I was not competing with anybody. i I loved people, you know, and I don't feel like there's a void missing. I don't feel like I have to, you know, be a chameleon to fit in in every different environment that I find myself. No, I have to be my true self who whom God has changed and transformed.
00:13:38
CODES
So, yeah. Yeah, I i relate a lot with that as well because when you, the most, I could say for me personally, the most frustrating season of my life, although I have somewhat of an amnesia towards what I was like.
00:13:58
CODES
really Wow. I mean, not in a sense that I- I can tell you. i can I can tell her now. How do I put it?
00:14:08
CODES
The way to put it is that I feel like I don't know how to live without God. I don't remember how to live anymore with without God, if that makes sense. No, can you elaborate a little bit? I would be like, I i would literally be going through stuff and I'm like,
00:14:25
CODES
lord how do i even how did i even survive when i didn't know you like these are stuff that i cannot really function well like i have this issue and i i would come to you for help but i i don't know how i literally did it when i was an unbeliever when i was not in faith i don't really know how i made it through or survived But even regardless of that, I know that God was always watching over me because of the calling had for me when I was not saved.
00:14:55
CODES
Okay, that's another point. Okay, okay, okay. But I digress. But what I was going to say is that it's when you come to Christ, He gives you a whole new identity that you do not know what what other identity there is to be, if that makes sense. It's like, think about when, a woman is, married when she's married to her husband.
00:15:25
CODES
Now, traditionally in a traditional marriage or, or, In some cultures, when a woman marries her husband, she takes the last name of her husband.
00:15:39
CODES
Now, I'm not really going into any feminist, whatever nonsense there is. i'm not really Listen, I don't care about no feminists. I don't care. What I'm saying is that when you are married to your husband, you cleave to your husband and you are one with your husband. And that entails bearing the last name of your husband.
00:15:57
CODES
Argue with your phone or whatever, however... yeah but and that's it's the truth however it is the true conviction of oh how it is but listen we're not here to we're not here to please anybody just say the truth as it is if i'm here to please anyone literally okay i'm just like i'm just kind of like letting people know like if you're going to be a offended it's okay to be offended and i'm not here to appease or you'll be you'll be okay i'm not here appease your sentiments or whatever it is but i'm saying personally conviction wise, when you're married, you're one with your husband and God sees you both as one. Yes. Sure. So why I'm bringing that up is that when you do take on your husband's name, you're being given a new identity as a married woman.
00:16:44
CODES
If that makes sense. It's the same way when we are married to Christ, where the bride of Christ will surrender a life to Christ. We no longer have our previous identity anymore. We've surrendered that to God.
00:16:58
CODES
And now we've taken the identity of Christ, of being in Christ, right? We'll have a new identity in Christ as a child of God, as the bride of Christ. So you can't... There are things that you you would you would do when you were not married that you cannot do when you were married.
00:17:17
CODES
when you were in Christ, the way you live when you are in Christ. That's right. You are now representing Christ. You are one with him.

Actions Reflecting Identity

00:17:29
CODES
Imagine how getting married to a very well-known person that is well-known everywhere and is very popular and is very wealthy.
00:17:42
CODES
There are certain ways that you you carry yourself because it's a person that you If that makes sense. Because of his name, too. Because of his name. You don't want to. yes. You vowed.
00:17:52
CODES
Yes, yes. be one with him. I like that. There certain things you cannot say in public. There are certain places you cannot go because guess what's going to happen? the media yeah social media oh the wife of so-and-so was found out oh in appropriate places so you can't be in certain places because you are now associated with this person yes now you are in Christ why do you think it should be different when you're in christ you're you're going back to your pre you're hanging out with previous cliques that you used to when you were not in Christ
00:18:28
CODES
Now, if if if you don't have anything, like if your mission in that in that particular setting is not to win people to God, you have no business being where you should not be.
00:18:39
CODES
Because of your you're now in Christ and you now represent someone who loves you, who has given his life for you. It's so funny how we we we know how to like...
00:18:53
CODES
place rules and like adhere to rules when it's when it's convenient for us but when when it has to do with God we just treat God like oh He would a accept anything it's like whatever like God doesn't really care we told you that of course He cares does it seem like someone who died for you who gave His life to redeem you and give you freedom does not really care about what you do that doesn't make sense God is a person. Jesus Christ is a person. He is God.
00:19:24
CODES
And He's in love with you. And that's why He gave His life for you. So now that you have given your life to Him you have to have that intentionality in the way that you live, in the way that you walk, because now your identity is in Him is found in Him because you are now one with Him
00:19:44
CODES
It's like and now everyone, wherever you are, when you've made your new identity known, everywhere you are, people should know that, oh, this is a child of God. When you go to the same, when you meet me and you're probably stumble to the same people who you knew from your past, who you had,
00:20:03
CODES
sinful relationship with the past this should be a difference it should be like oh wait you're not the same person that i knew knew you as something is different about you do people say that about you or do they see no difference between your before and your present with Christ hey then something is wrong if they don't see any difference when you claim that you you are child of God and you claim that you live for God And people cannot really seem to see any difference between you and the way you were before.
00:20:31
CODES
That's a really big problem. That's a really red flag in your relationship with God. It's showing that you really, really have not surrendered your former identity to God.
00:20:43
CODES
your You're still trying to late play with two people's heart. It doesn't work that way. It's like you're giving your heart to the devil and you're also giving your heart to God. no it doesn't work that way it's God is a jealous god and when you have surrendered your life to Him you are to be devoted entirely and completely to Him if that makes sense so entirely when you when your your identity in Christ having an identity in christ means that you're a child of God you're forgiven you're made new in Him and you're living in freedom from condemnation
00:21:22
CODES
you know, that part is really important because that condemnation part, while I was like driving back to like record this podcast, I was like thinking through lot in my car. Like been having moments with Jesus in my car.
00:21:37
CODES
Like literally that's the only, that's the only, like, I feel like I lay down a lot of thoughts in my car with Him there. So i'm I'm thinking in my in my head, like,
00:21:51
CODES
Wow. The reason why the enemy likes to condemn people of their sin and is successful at it is because people do not know their identity in Christ. Mm-hmm.
00:22:05
CODES
You know, a lot of people, sometimes the reason why you're tempted, not necessarily because you're drawn to your desire, but yes, you're drawn to your desires. But because the enemy wants you to fall into that sin because he knows the way that your mind is wired, that when you fall into a sin that you do not want to fall into, he knows that it's going to take you a while to get back to God because you're going to be and trapped into that self-condemnation that you are not worthy. You've made a mistake and God cannot forgive you.
00:22:35
CODES
He knows that if he can get you to fall into it, he can keep you down in self-pity and in condemnation so that you do not turn back to God. Sometimes to some people, that's the reason why the enemy tempts them a lot and puts so much pressure because when he gets them down, he can have them down in that pit for a long time because their mindset is that, oh, when they sin against God, they feel like their sin is unforgivable.
00:23:00
CODES
No, God forgives you. He forgives you and forgets all that you've done. So even though that you, I mean, it's not to say that we should keep on sinning, but sometimes when we will fall short of the glory of God and we fall into sin, we'll confess our sins to God and ask for forgiveness and repent of it.
00:23:21
CODES
We'll believe that we're forgiven and He forgives it and does not hold us to that sin anymore. But guess what the devil would do when you do not know that truth and you don't know that identity in God?
00:23:32
CODES
in Christ is that he will keep telling you that you you're useless or you sinned, you kept on doing this over and over again. Do you think God is going to forgive you?
00:23:43
CODES
How long are you going to make the same mistakes over and over again? Why do you think God is going forgive you? Why do you feel like you're entitled to His mercy? Why do you feel like He's going to give you a second chance when you've done the same thing over and over and over again?
00:23:54
CODES
He's going to bombard you with those lies to keep you trapped in that pit so you do not run back to God. So it's really important that you not only know your identity, but most importantly, know who your God is.
00:24:08
CODES
The importance of knowing who God is, is going to help you also understand who you are. If you know who your father is, It's going to help you know the daughter of whom you are.
00:24:20
CODES
And you go it's going to let you know what kind of daughter you are. Knowing that you have a father who is merciful. Knowing that you have a father who is forgiven. Knowing that you have a father who loves you so much. Isn't that going to make you know and understand that you are very loved?
00:24:35
CODES
That even though something goes wrong and you and you make an oopsie that you do not intend to, you run back to your father. You know that he's going to forgive you because He's a merciful God and He will give you the power to live a above sin.
00:24:49
CODES
These are the things that the enemy do not want us to know. That's why a lot of times, a lot of the battles in our mind are against our identity in Christ. And it's so important that you know God for yourself, not through he said or she said or what they say about, you know, it's good to hear people's relationship with God. People tell you about their relationship with God.
00:25:12
CODES
But more importantly is for you to know God for yourself. Because the way God is with one, even though He's an impartial God, He loves everyone equally. But the way he deals with person A is not the same way he's going to deal with person B. We're all different and we're all uniquely different. And it's okay to be unique in your own ways.
00:25:31
CODES
That does not make you short of God's love.
00:25:38
CODES
He pours out equal measures of love to every of His children. So the fact that one person is loud about their love for God or God's love for them doesn't make you more, less, lesser.
00:25:49
CODES
I'm not trying to like have a grammatical blunder right now. That's the way to put it. It doesn't make you less loved by God. Okay. The fact that you see other of people loud about their walk with God or the love of God, you see a lot of things, good things happening for them.
00:26:04
CODES
And in your mind, you're like, oh a lot of good things is happening for them. It means that God loves them more than He loves me. No.
00:26:12
CODES
Yes, the love of God is loud to people.
00:26:18
CODES
It doesn't mean that his love is not loud for you too. But remember, why... It might seem loud on the other end. might be because the person is verbalizing their love from God.
00:26:35
CODES
If theirs is too loud, how about you also be loud and and more grateful about God's love for you?
00:26:42
CODES
And have a sense of gratitude towards the things that God has done for you. So maybe that gratitude will be stuck in your mind and you're not going to be worried so much about. oh, person A is having their best Christian walk, like they're not going through a lot like I'm going through. No.
00:26:57
CODES
People are going through a lot. The fact that you're not mentioning it doesn't mean they're not going through a lot. Some people just like to give testimonies of what they want you to hear. They're not given that side of the battles that they go through.
00:27:11
CODES
So that's why it might seem to you like you're the one and only one going through stuff. No, it's not. But yeah, know God for yourself.
00:27:23
CODES
And you know, also what I've also noticed or observed is that a lot of times when people become like newly converts, become newly born again, they begin to shy away.

Social Rejection and Strong Roots in Faith

00:27:37
CODES
So when they're around the people they used to hang out with, and they start to say, you know what, I don't want to really show because I don't want them to think like, oh, I'm all this Jesus, Jesus thing. Yeah.
00:27:48
CODES
Like I'm weird. You know, they they they hide their identity. You know, they hide their identity. They don't want other people looking at them, judging them like, oh my gosh, you know, i don't want them to think that I'm weird, you know, like, and then that's where they start compromising.
00:28:04
CODES
Yeah. So, which is why it makes sense that you need, your identity needs to be strongly rooted in Christ. Otherwise, you're just going to keep fumbling, like compromising, doing things that you shouldn't be doing.
00:28:19
CODES
That's literally war to the teens right now. If you're a teenager and you're hearing what she just said right now, That's a motivation for you to stand firm in your faith. I know sometimes, since it and especially with the Gen Zs, oh my gosh, I feel like it's just the strangest.
00:28:37
CODES
The Gen Zs and and and the ones later from Gen Zs, what they call them, Gen Alpha or Gen Beta, whatever. you know Listen, i don't I don't even follow all this stuff. You know that. like I don't even care about all this stuff. I don't follow them. It's the wildest and wildest.

I don't know, it strangest generation. but But sorry to cut you off. who hold Hold that thought. It's funny enough that people from other religions, especially Muslim, like they are not afraid to share their faith with other people.
00:29:07
CODES
They are not afraid to talk about Mohammed. But when it comes to Christian, there's just something that makes us chicken out so easily. Like everybody thinks that, oh my gosh, like what if I share? going to be thinking like I'm crazy and weird. Yeah.
00:29:21
CODES
But then Muslims are going out there sharing what they they they got a share. But then we are the ones like hiding identity. Listen, when you when fire comes upon you, when you when you experience the fire of God in your bones, nobody's going to tell you to keep quiet.
00:29:38
CODES
Listen, guys, when I gave my life to Christ, I was a teenager, like, or probably more in my late teens. Dude, you were moving from train station to train station ministering. i higher in new york I wasn't really so exposed to the truth, you know, how to have a balanced life. But in that I had a radical conversion. You you did. like if you You got me so scared. sir You got me so scared. like Back then, I was so radical. like To a point that some woman was so pissed. She was like,
00:30:11
CODES
Well, will you go get yourself a man? Because you you you're you're you're all like talking about this Jesus. Jesus is because you got no man. I mean, listen. The devil is crying out. They were crying out. ain't got no man. And that's why I had so much time for Jesus. Okay.
00:30:28
CODES
Well, see, that's the problem. That's the problem. That's here's another thing too. I wanted to add a lot of times when people get into a relationship, they forget, they forget. Yes. They lose the identity, not knowing that the same way you were firing up for Christ when you were single, it should be more double times.
00:30:45
CODES
hoping that you're equally yoked to the right person oh my God equally yoked with then obviously your relationship your fire is gonna go down yeah lukewarm but if you're really plugged it's like two electric electrical connection being connected together it's like all kinds of sparks That's what God wants in a union in Him
00:31:09
CODES
So if you're if you're some electrical wire and you're connecting yourself to a wood or some some plastic, what do you think is going happen? But anyways, yeah, I was i was just that...
00:31:23
CODES
I was just really not a favorable person in my... Everywhere I went to, they're going to be like, oh gosh. They're going to be not hurt again. Because I will not shut about Jesus. I'm like, in the tracy of God.
00:31:36
CODES
Repent. Give your life to Christ. If you don't repent, you're going to hell. I mean, that is that that's kind of like John the Baptist style. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but...
00:31:48
CODES
Is it true? But then people... What I was missing at that point, to be honest, if I'm being really honest with myself, is that I wasn't really balanced in the way I was able preach the love of God to people. I'm much more... Condemnation at that point. Yeah, I've grown a lot so far and my approach right now is really different. Because yeah I feel like... Sometimes I feel like I give up that motherly vibe. Get out of here. That nurturing vibe. Oh, please. God loves you, but also, girl, get it together, her okay? Okay.
00:32:15
CODES
yeah Dude, would get it together. But not saying that either way is wrong, but essentially, if you understand that the core message and the core purpose of Christ coming is love.
00:32:26
CODES
L-O-V-E. God is love. It would redefine the way that you approach the word of God. and my favorite way of really preaching Christ is through friendship right now. because really no To be honest, i'm not I've noticed that over the years, I'm not so...
00:32:43
CODES
I may not really be skillful at like delivering a message timely in a way that like how all those really fiery evangelists do. Like it's very, it's very direct and it's very, it's very straightforward. That's why the evangelists, they're not pastors. Exactly. And I don't want to like, partly part of me, I don't want to like mess it up. So what I do is I get to know the person, like show them love and like,
00:33:09
CODES
meet them where they desperately needed help and then view from them. Let them experience love first before they hear the other part. But essentially, yeah, friendship is friendship evangelism is like... It's more it's it's very effective. Especially in this kind of generation. and and Yeah. Depending on location that you are, where, especially in places that preaching on the street is not really legally acceptable or something like that, I don't know.
00:33:36
CODES
but in some places that you you can't get away with like preaching at the subway or the transition but in some locations you need like a warrant to do that you know so sad you have to also work with wisdom on anything but listen at the end of the if God is telling you to do something go for it yeah but yeah I really, I digress a lot. I don't know what I want.
00:33:59
CODES
Well, when you digress, it makes sense because you're bringing back you in back, it's almost like you're bringing in more insight. But the thing is, I don't know where I started my engine. I just started the engine and I kept driving.
00:34:11
CODES
I don't know where point was. But anyways, if I remember, I'll come back again. right, I'm going to go ahead and read this. And then before we dive into questions, because I got a lot of questions. So, yeah. All right. So in our new identity in Christ, we're no longer slave to sin.
00:34:28
CODES
Right. Again, when you don't have Christ, you are slave to sin. Right. Satan just sit on your head and play soccer. Right. Right. sit and Practically, the devil controls you when you're living in a sin.
00:34:40
CODES
So when you become, when you have a new identity in Christ, you're no longer, you're no longer asleep to sin, but we're reconciled to God. So this new identity completely changes our relationship with God and our families, just as it changes the way we see the world.
00:34:57
CODES
Our new identity in Christ means we have the same relationship with God that Christ has with his children. god is it God has adopted us as sons, and we're able to call Him Abba Father.
00:35:10
CODES
So we're pretty much both joint heirs and friends of Christ. And our relationship even becomes more stronger than those we have with our earthly family. Amen to that. So instead of fearing God judge, we have the great privilege of coming to Him as our father.
00:35:25
CODES
And we can approach him with confidence and ask him of what we need. And we can ask him of his guidance and wisdom and know that nothing would take us from him. That's if that's if we continue to align ourselves with Him
00:35:39
CODES
And we can, hold on. And we also rest in this, and we also rest in his authority and respond to Him with trusting obedience, knowing that obedience is a key path of remaining close to him. What were you going to say?
00:35:52
CODES
you read something really important really caught my attention. When you mentioned that it was something about, where you said, when we have, we'll find that identity in Christ, like it gives

Confidence and Spiritual Claims

00:36:05
CODES
us the boldness. You said something about boldness and that's where, yeah, we, we can approach Him with confidence and ask Him what we need. Exactly.
00:36:15
CODES
How many times have you felt deceived by the voices of the enemy?
00:36:23
CODES
like in your let's put it this way when you're not in Christ you go to church and you hear people pray and God for things you know or like or ask God for a deeper walk with Him or like strengthen in their relationship with God but you are on the other hand if you do not have an existing relationship with God you don't have any boldness to ask for anything When you don't know who your father is, you don't have the boldness to approach Him with anything.
00:36:55
CODES
Because God doesn't know you. Exactly. It's the same way that even when we're in a walk with God and we fall into sin and we do not confess our sins to Him there is that shame.
00:37:07
CODES
When we sin against God, identity it it it it how do you say it it disconnects us from identity in God sin disconnects us from God so when we're in sin we have no identity in Christ because there is no there is light and that darkness has nothing in common so say for example you're you're on the road you're driving on the road and then you see a closure on the road you cannot go on to the other side of the road because there is a visible closure sin creates a closure from us reaching onto the other side of the road where God is
00:37:54
CODES
so if you do not clear up that obstruction there is no way you can be able to access God so as long as sin is continuously in your life there would not be any

Condemnation vs. Conviction

00:38:05
CODES
boldness you would continue you continually live in shame and condemnation until that sin is confessed if that makes sense so if you're feeling condemned While condemnation is not of God, also check yourself that you've confessed your sins to God and you've genuinely repented of your sins.
00:38:27
CODES
But if you've done all of that and you still and that condemnation still persists in your ears, that's when you need to take spiritual authority. Now that you are now reconciled back to God, that's when you do take some people.
00:38:41
CODES
when when when they When they experience condemnation like that, they just completely just drop on the floor and start throwing a tantrum. That's not a time to throw tantrums. That's not a time to like cave in to the voices of the enemy. That's when you should be exercising spiritual authority.
00:38:57
CODES
But where the enemy capitalizes on is that he will keep on telling you that your sins are not forgiven when your sins have been forgiven. I don't know why i'm I'm emphasizing this a lot, but maybe someone needs to hear it.
00:39:08
CODES
Someone needs to be free from that spirit of condemnation. When the enemy keeps on condemning you, when you've repented and reconciled back to God, that is not God. God does not condemn anyone.
00:39:20
CODES
God rather brings conviction. the The work of the Holy Spirit is to bring conviction to your hearts and not to condemn you. So if you're living in consumption condemnation, it is not God. It is not of God. It's not of the Holy Spirit.
00:39:33
CODES
Condemnation comes only when you've died without your sins forgiven. when you've not When you've died with an unconfessed sin, then you face condemn condemnation, the nation which is hell. But as long as you're living and you're in Christ and you've given your life to Christ, you've you've confessed your sins and you've reconciled with God, God will never condemn you.
00:39:55
CODES
He will not condemn you, even though that you fall into sin. The Lord will not condemn you. He would rather bring conviction to your heart just to bring you back to Him He will tell you, oh, this thing that you're doing is not right.
00:40:08
CODES
My dear, you need to turn back to me. The way that you're going is not right. God will never say something like, oh, you're doomed. You're like...
00:40:19
CODES
youre like What's that other demonic words that then you will whisper to your mind telling you that you're doomed or you cannot be forgiven or God will never say such things to you. If you're hearing those voices, it's demonic voices.
00:40:34
CODES
The voice of God speaks love to you. if though If that voice is not bringing you to surrender to God and have peace in Christ, and it's not of God. okay I don't know why I keep repeating this, but if there is someone out there that is hearing this and you're going through a series back and forth condemnation from the enemy.
00:40:54
CODES
And you're feeling guilty and you're feeling like you think that God is condemning you because of what you did. No, as long as you've confessed your sins to God and Him forgiveness and repented of it, telling Him that you will not go back to him and you've asked Him for the grace to live for Him
00:41:11
CODES
whatever voices that come to you return return the word of God to them because that's that's your weapon that's the only weapon that the enemy listens to the word of God scripture says in second corinthians verses five sure chapter five verses 17 i read that therefore if anyone yeah that's why i said that it was in my note i don't know why it's probably confirmation that someone out there needs to hear this Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
00:41:43
CODES
So now you've repented of your sins. Now you've asked God for forgiveness. You need to read read this word back to that voice of condemnation that... God has forgiven me of my sins because His word also says that He will show mercy unto who who he He will show mercy to.
00:42:00
CODES
And scripture also says that even the lawful captive shall be delivered Isaiah, I believe. So even though that you are lawfully captive to your sin, you've repented and you've surrendered to God. He's forgiven you.
00:42:12
CODES
Even though you were a lawfully captive and you did it intentionally out of a lack of willpower willpower to do it. And you've confessed your sins to God and asked Him His grace. You are no longer under that that condemnation.
00:42:25
CODES
God has redeemed you and has set you free and has forgiven you. So move on. And maybe also what you need to do is to forgive yourself. Sometimes we make mistakes that we probably did not intend to. Or we probably did willfully because we lacked moral power at that time or willpower at that time.
00:42:44
CODES
It happens, but do not dwell in it. Run back to God for forgiveness. Ask Him for forgiveness. And when you have repented of that, And asking for grace to move on. Do not dwell back in it.
00:42:56
CODES
Move on with the hope and belief that God has forgiven you. Because he has. And when you hear those voices again. Tell the devil that even the lawfully captive shall be delivered.
00:43:07
CODES
And if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. So I am in Christ now. I'm a new creation. old things have passed away. Do not remind me of my past sins. Because that God does not remember it anymore.
00:43:19
CODES
Guess what? He's the only one who remembers what you did. God does not. Because He's for forgiven you. That part of you is gone.
00:43:30
CODES
And if the devil is still holding on to it, it is because he wants you to go back to it. Because he knows that the only way to to bring you back is probably by condemning you and not letting you feel or believe that God has for forgiven you so that you can dwell in that pit forever.
00:43:45
CODES
Because he likes to keep people in bondage. That's what he's good at. But refuse it because God has given you freedom and received the power to move forward in the name of Jesus. Someone really needed to hear that because if we both got the same scriptures all at the same time, someone is probably wrestling with condemnation that I believe that God has set them free right now in the name of Jesus.

Journey to Self-Worth and God's Love

00:44:08
CODES
Yeah, back to what I was saying, it's really important for you to know. God for yourself and know who you are in Christ. And also the other part that I was going to mention that you had mentioned about the boldness, where boldness comes from is that you have that solid knowledge and understanding and the contentment of who you are.
00:44:33
CODES
When I gave my life to Christ, God had to do a lot of work in my self-esteem. Because boy, like i struggled with that a lot. But one thing I had to, God helped me with was to start believing His word.
00:44:48
CODES
I started reading His word for myself. And all the the beautiful words that he's given to me, i would always reassure myself that I am beautiful because God says I am.
00:45:01
CODES
I am altogether lovely, the altogether wonderful. Because God says I am. I am His delight. I am a crown in His
00:45:12
CODES
I'm a royal diadem. I'm a royal priesthood. The Bible is a love note to God's children, to the bride of Christ. So if you're not capitalizing on those sweet words that the Lord speaks to you through the word, I don't know what else you're hearing.
00:45:29
CODES
Maybe you don't have enough of God's word in your mind. That's why the littlest thing that a guy probably tells you or girl probably tells you to validate your self-esteem, you automatically just start trembling and like shivering and like falling for that because they're feeding into your low self-esteem that you haven't surrendered to God.
00:45:50
CODES
so It's okay to receive compliments. here and there but if your compliments or your sense of worth is contingent on the compliments that people give you then that's not it's not going to suffice it's a it's a really feeble foundation but if your sense of being and your identity is rooted in who God says you are not what people say that you are then you have a sure foundation in Christ It almost seems like you love this topic way more than I do. I don't know why. I just love talking about identity.
00:46:21
CODES
Oh my gosh. Guys, if we leave here, we're going to be here for three hours. we should also, you know what we hey We should actually continue this when we do bring on Jonathan. So part two? So part two will be identity as as a PK.
00:46:33
CODES
okay sounds good because i want us to like talk about this with him okay by the way guys uh we're gonna have a a different episode and with jonathan if you guys don't know this if you guys don't know who jonathan is i i don't know all right we gotta move on with the questions you to go back to season 1 episode two Alright, so only going to be... We're only going to explore a few questions because there's a lot of them. we have talk back... We have to do it back in the recording that we're doing.
00:47:05
CODES
okay so I'm probably not going to put this part out anyways until we record that session with him. But yeah. Alright. So we're just going to ask a few questions. Because like I said, guys... save it too and we can revisit this conversation when we to have Jonathan on here.
00:47:20
CODES
Alright, so I'm going to have to save this. Because if I were to ask other questions, trust me, rachel is going to be talking for five hours. no, no, no. Yeah. I know. and mean That's the truth.
00:47:31
CODES
That the enemy... That's why I took over today. Guys. Had... hidden from me for a long time, my identity. The moment that keyed into knowing who I am, that was where freedom came.
00:47:43
CODES
That was where my boldness came from, actually. look at that. And then here's a question. Here's a question to that. So how was your understanding how much how has your understanding of your identity in Christ impacted your life?
00:47:55
CODES
Literally, partly. You see, I didn't even know you had that question. I did. But yeah, understanding who I am in Christ was really the beginning of a different... a different Rachel.
00:48:08
CODES
Like I had mentioned, I used to be very, there was a point in my life where I was never transparent with God because I felt like God was out to judge me or to condemn me.
00:48:21
CODES
That's probably why i have this such a big passion for those who are battling identity crisis or like you're already complex, yeah, because I know God pulled me out of really dark, muddy pit So i before I knew who I was in Christ, I was literally living under the shadows of other people.
00:48:45
CODES
Everywhere people were, would do things to please them just because I wanted to fit in so bad. But when I found I knew who I was in in Christ and knew who God was there was just a different level of freedom a shift ahwa when that happened but there was a point in my life where i started becoming more transparent i had surrendered my life to Christ but i wasn't very transparent with God because i didn't really understood who He was i was really seeing God in the light of human beings that had hurt me
00:49:21
CODES
because i was open to them or i shared my weakness with them so partly subconsciously without me knowing i had projected that to God and that's not really who God is so the moment i started understanding the loving sweetest daddy that He is the bestest bestest lover that He is man i let loose like everything in my heart i just like spell everything out to Him not that He doesn't already know but it does something in helping me more intimate with Him and like confiding Him knowing that He just has my back. There was a point that I felt like in my walk with God that
00:50:00
CODES
I was not favored. I was not loved. because like Oh my gosh. That's the, that's the next question. That's, that's, that that's literally the next question. The next question I was going to ask you. So in what ways do you struggle even now that you find your identity Christ? Like in what ways do you struggle with feeling loved, accepted or valued by God? Yeah.
00:50:18
CODES
So let let me, let me cook. Okay. Listen, we're not going to be here three hours with you explaining. Make it sweet and short. question again I will. That's why I'm saving it here. and so i would i would go more ind depth on that but yeah yeah like I did feel that sense of being unloved because I felt like other people who in Christ, a lot of good things were happening to them. And I felt like, oh, maybe God doesn't love me. And I felt like was going through a lot of spiritual attack. me, I interpreted it as not being loved and not being protected.
00:50:49
CODES
So I went back to God at some point in my walk with God. I went back to Him I said, Lord, just a real, it was a free conversation between I and God. was like, Lord, if you really want me to really trust you and go all out for you, i need to know that you really have my back.
00:51:05
CODES
it's such a silly little thing to do but right because i mean why wouldn't God have my back but in my like He hasn't been having your back exactly but where i was mentally makes sense where was mentally in that low state that where was hurt and like bruised by a lot of people around me aside from my family who who supported me like i felt like everyone else out there was out to get me So I needed to like unlearn what I was subconsciously projecting on God. Like i need to drop all those.
00:51:39
CODES
So I had the conversation, like i need to know that you're protecting me so I can fully and freely be out there for you. So I can have the boldness to do these things for you, knowing that you have my back and I'm not going to be hunted for it.
00:51:52
CODES
So I had a conversation with God. It was just a... Random conversation, but something shifted in my walk with Him I started becoming more vulnerable. There you go. To Him
00:52:05
CODES
Instead of coming when when i did when I did do something wrong against against Him instead of coming from a place of self-righteousness or in not taking accountability for my sin,
00:52:18
CODES
I would like, each time I start with a self-righteous statement, when I go to apologize to Him i would retrace back, I'm like, no, car cut it right there, Rachel.
00:52:30
CODES
What you need to say right now is that I'm sorry. It was my fault. I take a accountability. It was because I wasn't vulnerable to you. I didn't ask for help with this particular weakness. That's why I fell into it.
00:52:44
CODES
It is because I i lacked the willpower to say no and I should have asked you for help and the grace to overcome it like I started being accountable to my wrongdoing no longer putting blames or it's because this happened it's because that person did that That's the same thing that happened in the Garden of Eden.
00:53:03
CODES
And that's why a lot of people have that disconnection with God because no one is being accountable. They haven't really brought themselves for who they are. Like a publican the Bible went to when when when went to God and like beat his chest like, I know who I am. The same way that the thief at the cross said, remember me paradise. like Acknowledging what you are.
00:53:30
CODES
not for not who you are the redeemed version of you but the sinful nature in you like acknowledging that i'm being naked before God i'm not talking about physical nakedness i'm talking about spiritual nakedness Lord this is me this is what you have you already know that this is me before you saved me and i want you to completely sanctify me and re-sanctify me I need a higher level of sanctification.
00:53:58
CODES
But right now, as I'm with you right now, this is what I am.

Vulnerability and Deeper Intimacy

00:54:03
CODES
Be vulnerable to God with that. When I started being vulnerable to God with that, lot changed.
00:54:10
CODES
It gave me that sense. it it brought about a stronger and deeper level of intimacy with God. And knowing that everything that I've confessed to God,
00:54:24
CODES
unlike man would, unlike human beings would, I didn't hear it on social media. I didn't hear someone said, Oh, you did this and you did that. Oh, you said, you said this, you said that. Oh my gosh, you're so evil. you're Yes. I'm imperfect.
00:54:38
CODES
But when I confess that imperfection to God, He didn't rub it on my face that all. That's why I can't give you this. That's why I can't bless you because you're this, you're that. I didn't get none of that. So that gave me that sense of that's how real God is to me. Like a person,
00:54:54
CODES
to me like a person that loves me a Being a supreme being that gave His life for me that's how when i started being vulnerable my relationship with God became more real more more intimate than ever before and yeah It gave me so much power and boldness knowing that I can always tell Him anything.
00:55:15
CODES
and who He would correct me. He would deliver me. And He would, He He just got my back. And I felt like I was able to appreciate more His love and see His love in different dimensions. And I started believing His love for myself.
00:55:28
CODES
Not because someone tells me God loves you, but I started believing it for myself. Because you are what you believe. When you believe God loves you, your mind starts to reflect that love.
00:55:39
CODES
Your whole personality starts to reflect the love of God. You have to believe that for yourself. No one's going to do that for you. Okay. All right. Miss Rachel, thank you for such, for such insight. Again, that's where, that's, that's all the question I'm going to ask because we, this is something we have to follow up with when we bring, when we bring in our guests.
00:56:01
CODES
on watching the episode so you can catch when we do talk about this again. going probably record a lot more than this, but you have to keep following so you can get to here when we revisit this topic on identity in Christ

Conclusion and Prayers

00:56:16
CODES
again. Yeah. but This is just a brief snippet.
00:56:19
CODES
just Just to like, you know, baptize you in this new season. Season 2 of Covenant Diaries. But anyways, you guys, if you guys have been together with us from the get-go,
00:56:33
CODES
You guys the realist OGs. Like, if you have been listening from the start, please leave a comment. You are the realist OG, okay? We appreciate you guys for your support and those who like and comment.
00:56:50
CODES
Thank you in advance for those who have never liked or subscribed before. Thank you for doing that now because you're also... partaker of being blessed in sharing the gospel to everyone else because when you do like share and comment You know This message gets to be spread to other people who needs to hear it. So you're indirectly doing evangelism by liking Okay, I'm not trying to guilt to you to like to like like it but like I mean if you don't like it you you're trying to deny this word from other people from hearing it, okay?
00:57:26
CODES
So if you really want other people to hear this, just like, share, comment, and subscribe. Okay. Love you guys. Why you like, I'm the person who should be closing this. Why are you closing this? I'm just giving my own personal statements.
00:57:40
CODES
Your personal statement is yeah the statement I was about to make. But you're going to summarize everything that I said. That's your personal statement. Really? Guys, you already know. She just literally said everything.
00:57:52
CODES
I don't know what else to say. But thank you guys so much for tuning in. It's always been a pleasure. You know, most times when we want to actually put something out there, the enemy usually fight us, you know, project arrows of this discouragement, agitation. It's like, why why do we have to keep doing this?
00:58:14
CODES
