Speaker: What up, fam? You already know who it is, but just in case you didn't know, it's your boy, Mitch Wilson, on the ones and twos. And yes, I got a good show for you. Oh, it's so good to be back. I'm so sorry. I've been busy, work, baseball, other commitments, but I'm here for episode 43. So let's go. Tell you what.

Speaker: got a good episode we can talk about Harrison Booker he's been saying some things boy he's been saying some things that have not been making some people happy so we're going to talk about that we also going to talk about the royals how about the royals

Speaker: off to their best start. And I couldn't tell you, I believe this is the best start two season through 50 games and franchise history. They are playing absolutely fantastic. Also get given to talk a little NBA Celtics in the finals. They're going to see who they end up getting in the finals. And also last, but certainly not least, Caitlin Clark, a rookie in the WNBA.

Speaker: and is already bringing change to the WNBA. So, all right, back to the top, Harrison Booker. Oh boy, oh boy. Did he say some things that did not make people happy? And for those of you who are not aware, which I don't know how you couldn't, but just in case you're not aware, Harrison Booker, the kick of the Kansas City Chiefs, was at a college graduation. He was asked to speak at this college graduation.

Speaker: I think it's important to note that Harrison Bucker was not speaking on behalf of the Chiefs or the NFL. He was speaking on behalf of himself. He was giving a commencement speech at a religiously Catholic college. Harrison Bucker is also Catholic. I think that's important to know.

Speaker: And the things that people are not up for, just so we don't get it twisted, I'm going to read a very small portion of his commencement speech because this is the part of the commencement speech that everyone is just living their minds over.

Speaker: For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now about to cross the stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?

Speaker: Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you'll bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother. I'm on this age today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation

Speaker: I am beyond blessed with many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all, Homemaker. Now, to be honest, I am not Catholic. I am not of the Catholic faith.

Speaker: I have friends that are of the Catholic faith. And so when all of this hit the fan, they were literally the first people I want to go talk to because I wanted to know their opinion. Because there's all this outrage. And what the media is not telling you, at least the media that I've saw, is that he got a standing ovation.

Speaker: And the reason why he got a standing ovation is because pretty much everything that he said was in line with the Catholic faith and what they believe. And so I talked to some Catholic friends of mine and they said that he didn't say anything that all this kids hadn't heard a thousand times over. And also.

Speaker: From my perspective, he didn't say in my opinion, he did not say that they can only be a homemaker. He said for them to embrace the greatest title of all, homemaker. And I will say in my faith, I do believe that being a husband, being a father, being a wife, being a mom.

Speaker: In my opinion, the greatest thing that you will ever do in this life is being a mom, a dad, a husband, or a spouse and have children. I don't understand why people are losing their mind because the thing that I think is ironic is the people, and it has gotten to a point to where people are trying to get petition for this man to lose his job. He wasn't.

Speaker: in the role of the Kansas Chief Kicker representing the Chiefs of the NFL, he was representing himself and everything that he said that is of his faith and his opinion. Last time I checked, we did live in America and we had this thing, it's called freedom of speech.

Speaker: And the thing that baffles me the most is the people that want Harrison Booker to lose his job are the people that are yelling and screaming for inclusion. So why is it inclusion

Speaker: when it only goes along with your beliefs and your ideas. That's not inclusion. And that's the part that just baffles me. Because you have the people that really want him to lose his job and to do all the things. These are the same people that are talking about inclusion and loving everyone. Well, doesn't loving one include loving everyone even if they don't have the same idea or thought process as you?

Speaker: So no, what you're really saying is love everyone in it and let's include everyone as long as they have the same beliefs that I do. The fact that people want Harrison Booker to lose his job, I think is absolutely ridiculous. The man got a standing ovation. The audience that he was speaking to, that too, the message was intended for. It wasn't intended for people across the country.

Speaker: And the obvious that it was intended for, he received a standing ovation. So do you think that they were offended by what he said? Not, probably not, because he wouldn't have gotten a standing ovation. It just truly baffles me that you have people in this country that because you don't have the same beliefs and thought processes as them, they think that you're wrong.

Speaker: Last time I checked, if someone has an opinion and someone has a different opinion that does not mean that either of them are wrong, it simply means they have a difference of opinion. And one of the great things about this country that we live in, the good US of A, is we have the freedom to say what we want, whether you like it or not.

Speaker: If you think that just because someone does not believe the same things that you believe, it does not make them wrong. It makes them have a different opinion. Now, obviously, if you have a different opinion on things, you know, depending on what it is, there is obviously different levels to this, but man, come on now. And my thing is, he also didn't say that if I only had to be a homemaker,

Speaker: He said to embrace their role as homemaker. He didn't say you can only be a homemaker. In my opinion, you can be a homemaker and you can be a career woman. And my wife is... My wife is a accounting manager at her company. And she has worked the entire time that we have been together. And she has done an absolutely amazing job raising our son Zane.

Speaker: and being an amazing wife. Like she is the greatest gift that I have been given. And she does both. And she's amazing. Just because you're a homemaker, in my opinion, doesn't mean that you can't still have a career. So guys, let's not get it twisted. You can do both. And in my opinion, Harrison Booker was just saying his opinion and he should not be crucified

Speaker: for saying his opinion. And that's all I got to say about that. Moving on. Oh, how about them Royals? Them Royals, oh my goodness. Coming off an eight game win streak. Now we'll say they have lost the last couple. It's okay. They are still currently, currently they're sitting at 34 and 22.

Speaker: They are 12 games above 500, which is fantastic. They are still in second place in the division because the Cleveland Guardians just refuse to lose. But I tell you what, man, the more I watch them and the more I see them play, this group truly reminds me a lot of how the Worlds were winning in 14 and 15. You have the

Speaker: the parental all -star and Bobby Witt. You know, you have Salvador Perez, who I feel is having a absolute unicorn season. Because, I mean, a guy at his age, I mean, for him to be, you know, hitting 327 and being in, you know, the tops in the league in RBIs, he is one of the driving forces in this offense. But also the pitching and the defense has been absolutely fantastic.

Speaker: Seth Lugo, I believe, has only, I think he's only lost one game this year. Dude, the whole pitching staff has been great. Bobby Witt in the field, amazing. Garcia, third, I mean, just defensively, they are elite. They are getting the job done offensively as a team. It seems like it's not just Bobby Witt every day. There have been games I've seen box scores where Bobby doesn't have a hit and the Royals still score six, seven, eight runs.

Speaker: That is special. Right now, the rules offensively are absolutely getting the job done. They are right now, they are currently plus 76 in run differential.

Speaker: They've scored 270 and they've have given up 194. They're plus 76. There's only four other teams and baseball that are ahead of them in this category. So they're top five. So when you have that run differential and your defense is playing elite and your pitchers are throwing the ball really well, you're going to win a lot of games. And that's exactly what they're doing right now. Again, Salvador Perez has happened in an absolutely fantastic year.

Speaker: Also last time I checked Bobby was like I think believe like in second place second place odds to win the AL MVP and there's also a lot of people saying that if if Bobby Whitt Jr didn't play in Kansas City that he would be the face of the MLB right now Which he is a five tool player

Speaker: that can get the job done defensively offensively he runs like a freaking gazelle i mean dude can just fly and at shortstop just absolutely takes away runs plain and simple

Speaker: And like I said, I mean, this, this, the Royal team this year, it's been a team, offensively, it's been a team effort. Obviously, you know, Perez is having a fantastic year. Bobby Witt, those are the two most valuable guys on the team. You got several Perez hitting at, you know, 325. Bobby's over 300 at 307 as well. And I tell you what, I will say though, they've been scoring all these runs and one of the guys who contributed early in the year, MJ Melendez has kind of cooled off.

Speaker: Since then it hasn't really contributed. I mean if they get his back going in that lineup as well I mean that will just be even more Offense for the Royals and like I said, you know Seth Lugo keeps doing what he's doing I mean, he's got an ERA under one and a half right now every time he goes out on the mound. He's absolutely dealing

Speaker: So again, the Royals are so fun to watch right now. I'm checking the box score every day. I cannot watch them unfortunately because I do not have ballet sports. I will say if they continue to play this way in the summer, I will probably end up breaking down and getting that package to watch them play. But man, couldn't be happier as a Royals fans. They are definitely in the hunt. And as long as they keep playing like they're playing, they should have have absolutely no problems making the playoffs this year.

Speaker: which that is super exciting. We got the Boston Celtics in the finals. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna be honest with you. If the Boston Celtics don't win it this year, they ain't gonna win for a long time because they've been dominant in every round they've played in and they're gonna have over a week off to rest. So,

Speaker: Jason, Tatum, and them boys, if they don't get it going to beat whoever the one of the Minnesota Dallas series is, which I really thought that Dallas was going to sweep once they went to 3 -0, but Minnesota Cat and Anthony Edwards said no, no, no.

Speaker: We will not be swept. And so they're going to gain five back in Minnesota, but I definitely feel that the Mavs are going to end that series. And so it's going to be Dallas and Boston in the NBA Finals. And if Boston doesn't win it this year, then unfortunately for them, I don't know what it's going to take for them to win, but they should. They're going to have more rest. And at this time in the NBA season, that is absolutely vital. Oh, last but certainly not least, we got Caitlin Clark.

Speaker: If you do not know in the WNBA, the WNBA, they do not fly charter flights. They fly commercial. Because of the popularity of Kaitlyn and Clark, now WNBA flights are being chartered for safety reasons because Kaitlyn and Clark

Speaker: Is that woman, she is probably the greatest gift to the WNBA that they've gotten in years. I was listening to some stats about basically how Caitlin Clark and her popularity and what she's done for the WNBA, what she's done in the last two months. The WNBA was growing a little.

Speaker: But because of Caitlin Clark arriving and her popularity, what she did in college and what she's going to do for the WNBA, she has bumped them ahead like five, six years and ticket sales, jersey sales, a bunch of other things. So if you don't like Caitlin Clark, you need to just get on the bandwagon because she is here to say she is good for the WNBA. And if you don't think so, go look at the numbers.

Speaker: Alright guys, it feels so good to be back. I so appreciate it fam. Remember, please remember, be kind because everyone you meet is fighting a battle that you have absolutely no idea about. Until next time fam, peace!
