Speaker: How much do you know about the barista who makes your cup of coffee? Hello everyone, my name is Miki and I am not a barista. I am, however, excited to introduce the I'm Not Barista podcast that will shine the spotlight on the role of a barista worldwide. We'll work tirelessly to grow the delicious coffee that powers people every single day.
Speaker: So now you're listening to the episode zero of I'm not burst a podcast and I will introduce you myself and what is the number is that what we do and our exciting projects. So I'm not burst. There is a not for profit organization that we celebrate the coffee community here.
Speaker: Everything we do is to empower people, baristas who are incredibly passionate about what they do and to connect us to the complex coffee wallow chain behind every cup of coffee. And we believe that they deserve a platform where their work skills and knowledge are well recognized. This podcast is an extension of the coffee stories that we have been sharing since we launched in 2019.
Speaker: So every week we will release new episodes that feature inspiring stories, career advice, worrying tips, and more from some of the incredible people who are passionate about good coffee and want to share what they know with the listeners just like you. As a coffee lover myself, I truly believe that coffee connects us.
Speaker: That's why I started this organization to not only amplify these connections digitally, but also contribute tangible impact to the social issues that barista face every single day.
Speaker: When looking at a cup of coffee, it is so easy to overlook the number of people that were involved in making your morning beverage. Those working with the coffee community tend to focus solely on building their relationships with the suppliers and farmers. And very often we fail to support Paris's craftsmanship.
Speaker: If you're a barista, you must know how hard it is to be a barista. The long working hours, sometimes the crazy customers, and often the very overwhelming salaries. All of these are not attractive features for employment or a long -term profession. Still, baristas continue to serve our cups of coffee. I believe it is the time to acknowledge their work.
Speaker: I come from a marketing background and my goal is to make use of what I know to get the word out about the challenges and the triumphs that surrounded the baristas we interact with on a database. It is March 2021, so we are in a year into the Covid -19 pandemic and that has seriously impacted the coffee industry, the job stability of baristas around the world
Speaker: The founds we have been racing through our own merchandise sales and donations are more important than ever and they will go straight to the barista they need. Humanity rents on coffee and the Amno Barista rents on the support of interns and volunteers. Yes, they also rent on coffee themselves. All of our projects are born from community collaboration and serve to expand each of the coffee community even further.
Speaker: So visit our website and learn more how you can join us in powering baristas everywhere. By coming together at one small project at a time, we built up collective strength as a community to create real change in the coffee industry. The pandemic may force us into isolation, but we have the power to continue the momentum for social and digital platforms.
Speaker: For example, our Brew at Home campaign inspired baristas to share the coffee knowledge and help people brew better coffee at home and safely. And at the same time, the campaign helped support local coffee business by ordering coffee online. And we organized online events, Zoom parties, and collected so many people during the difficult time.
Speaker: And our latest project, The Boring Guide, will expand the connection and the physical card deck. That includes 48 boring recipes shared by the coffee community, home brewers, and coffee champions alike. Bridging you and the talented people around the world to brew a better coffee together.
Speaker: And this is ethos behind Amna Barista. Everyone deserves to drink good coffee and everyone who works to make that happen deserves to be more appreciated. That is why we are here to give faith and voices to Baristas and everyone else behind the cup.
