Introduction and New Game Release
00:00:07
Speaker
Thanks for tuning in to the Loser Kid Pinball Podcast.
00:00:09
Speaker
It is episode 115.
00:00:12
Speaker
With me, my co-host, as always, Scott Larson.
00:00:17
Speaker
And Scott, it looks like a new game dropped today.
00:00:20
Speaker
If you want to buy this game, who are you going to contact?
00:00:22
Speaker
I would contact Zach and Nicole Minney at Flippin' Out Pinball.
00:00:25
Speaker
Actually, I did talk to someone today and I said, hey, did you know that this...
00:00:31
Speaker
dropped and he was unaware and he said, I may have to swap out my premium for this.
00:00:38
Speaker
And so I actually did contact Zach.
00:00:41
Speaker
I'm like, Hey, you got any more of those things?
00:00:42
Speaker
And he said, yeah, we have a few.
00:00:44
Speaker
So I, I sent him the contact.
00:00:47
Speaker
He still has the standard distributor, but he has the backup with, with Zach and Nicole.
00:00:51
Speaker
If that, if his standard one doesn't work out.
00:00:55
Speaker
Let flipping out be not only your first choice, but even your safety net when they're not your first choice.
00:01:01
Speaker
Hey, just reach out, you know, play around, play the field.
00:01:05
Speaker
You're not married to your distributor.
Guest Introduction: Kerry Hardy
00:01:09
Speaker
I want to introduce our guests that we have on this evening.
00:01:13
Speaker
This man and I have been talking for a few years now.
00:01:16
Speaker
We became friends over an unlikely situation, mate, because Scott was ranting too much about a former company that no longer exists.
00:01:28
Speaker
But a great guy, wonderful YouTube content,
00:01:34
Speaker
Whether it's spicy and knocks your opinion across the room, or if it's just a great gentle reassurance of everything great going on in pinball, man, talking with us today is Kerry Hardy.
00:01:47
Speaker
How you doing, Kerry?
00:01:48
Speaker
going on guys my the mighty have fallen you've got keith elwin on speed dial and you get me on here to talk so well keith only interviews with us every other week every other yeah you're kind of the b the b slot oh okay well when zombie yeti confirmed that there's 18 more title titles coming out next year for yeah
00:02:10
Speaker
from Keith, we figured we better stagger those out because we usually have them on after a release or something like that.
00:02:16
Speaker
Maybe you might have them on after most recent release today or something.
00:02:20
Speaker
What it seemed like Zambier was saying, look at the Stern production schedule and 75% of his games.
00:02:27
Speaker
Yeah, that's a possibility as well.
Kerry's Journey from Streaming to Pinball Content
00:02:30
Speaker
Well, the first question that we have
00:02:32
Speaker
Before we get into the hubbub of Venom and Jurassic Park 30th, Kerry, how did you even start out?
00:02:39
Speaker
What made you decide, hey, I'm going to do YouTube and start doing these videos and stuff?
00:02:44
Speaker
Actually, I got started in doing streaming when it comes to playing video games.
00:02:50
Speaker
I didn't do it live.
00:02:51
Speaker
It was pre-recording.
00:02:52
Speaker
Well, I did some live.
00:02:55
Speaker
I'd get one or two viewers.
00:02:56
Speaker
But you know how saturated that market is when it comes to people playing video games and people watching it.
00:03:02
Speaker
And I started to put a little more effort into it.
00:03:06
Speaker
You know, even doing thumbnails and pre-recordings and putting out like a series of certain games.
00:03:12
Speaker
But I just wasn't happy with what I was doing.
Pinball Machine Collection and Restoration Passion
00:03:15
Speaker
I realized like, yeah, I like playing video games, but I don't have a passion for it.
00:03:19
Speaker
I guess it's just something I do to kill some time if I have it.
00:03:22
Speaker
And I realized that I just when I was editing, I just like I don't want to do this.
00:03:26
Speaker
And it seemed very forced.
00:03:29
Speaker
And I was like, well, you know, maybe I should try changing the content up.
00:03:32
Speaker
Maybe I should do things related to what I am passionate about, and that's pinball.
00:03:36
Speaker
And since then, it's just seemed natural.
00:03:39
Speaker
It doesn't seem like work all the time, at least.
00:03:41
Speaker
There are certain times where, yeah, it definitely is work.
00:03:43
Speaker
But I just kind of segued out of the video game recording and videos and basically created my own little video stuff for pinball content.
00:03:55
Speaker
Now I, I see seven games behind you.
00:03:58
Speaker
How many games do you have in your collection?
00:04:00
Speaker
There's this seven and I've got two in the other room over here.
00:04:06
Speaker
It's Dr. Who and swords of fury.
00:04:08
Speaker
And then I've got another game in the diner room.
00:04:13
Speaker
And what, and why did you select the games that you have?
00:04:16
Speaker
What is your lineup?
00:04:17
Speaker
We got last action hero.
00:04:19
Speaker
It's one of those games that was one of the first, it was the first DMD game that I ever got.
00:04:24
Speaker
And I think now it's just a staple in the house.
00:04:27
Speaker
Not so much that I think that everybody should get it or anything, or that it's an amazing game.
00:04:31
Speaker
It's just become a staple.
00:04:32
Speaker
It's like, it almost seemed like it's part of the family.
00:04:36
Speaker
The getaway, that was one of those games that I played at a show, and then a buddy was telling me about how much he wanted it, and I ended up getting a pretty good deal for it, and it's kind of stuck around, and now it's a grand champion winner, so it's definitely going to be sticking around.
00:04:51
Speaker
I was going to say, it is award-winning.
00:04:52
Speaker
I remember you... I was going to get into that.
00:04:55
Speaker
You're actually, not only do you collect the games, but you also work on them.
00:05:00
Speaker
And make them a lot prettier than they used to be.
00:05:03
Speaker
We're going to circle back to that.
00:05:05
Speaker
Let's keep going with your lineup.
00:05:06
Speaker
World Cup soccer was a surprise hit for me at a TPF show.
00:05:10
Speaker
It was one of those where there's a bunch of people there.
00:05:12
Speaker
I saw World Cup soccer.
00:05:13
Speaker
No one was playing it.
00:05:14
Speaker
And I was like, well, I think I know why I could do soccer, you know, but I'll give it a shot.
00:05:21
Speaker
And I was like, man, I really like this game.
00:05:24
Speaker
Is there anybody behind me?
00:05:26
Speaker
I'm going to play another game.
00:05:27
Speaker
And then I played it a couple of more times.
00:05:29
Speaker
And then I played it as long as no one else is behind me waiting to get on.
00:05:32
Speaker
And then eventually I drug the wife up with there.
00:05:34
Speaker
She fell in love with it.
00:05:35
Speaker
I found one somewhere around us, got it, and it'll never leave.
00:05:38
Speaker
The kids love it too much.
00:05:40
Speaker
I've got it as well in my collection.
00:05:42
Speaker
It was one of my first games.
00:05:44
Speaker
Yeah, it's one of those games that you don't think that you're going to like it because it's mainly the theme.
00:05:49
Speaker
then tells of the Arabian Nights.
00:05:51
Speaker
That's my wife's game.
00:05:52
Speaker
Even though I bought the damn thing, but, uh, it's there.
00:05:56
Speaker
And if I even mentioned selling it, she's like, no, shuts that down.
00:05:59
Speaker
It's not going to happen.
00:06:00
Speaker
I'm like, you never play it.
00:06:01
Speaker
It's either you or the game carry.
00:06:04
Speaker
You were the game.
00:06:05
Speaker
But tells of the Arabian Nights is here.
00:06:07
Speaker
Foo fighters premium is here.
00:06:08
Speaker
That's obviously I played that at, uh, whenever it was at the distro place, whenever it first got released.
00:06:14
Speaker
And I was like, yep.
00:06:18
Speaker
Jurassic Park Pro played that at Expo whenever it got released.
00:06:25
Speaker
So I was waiting to get a chance to get one of those.
00:06:29
Speaker
And so when I had my turtles, this one came up for possible trade.
00:06:33
Speaker
And I was like, man, if I can trade my turtles for this, I'm going to do it.
00:06:36
Speaker
And I propositioned him and he was like, he's like, yeah, sure.
00:06:39
Speaker
And I was like, hell yeah.
00:06:42
Speaker
Jurassic Park is here.
00:06:43
Speaker
That shouldn't be leaving.
00:06:45
Speaker
And Cactus Canyon remake standard edition.
00:06:50
Speaker
And the Doctor Who, Swords of Fury,
00:06:54
Speaker
Doctor Who is mainly for the theme.
00:06:57
Speaker
It's like we got really into Doctor Who years ago.
00:07:01
Speaker
I don't want to nerd out on you guys for being a Whovian and stuff like that.
00:07:05
Speaker
But like that game's in there.
00:07:07
Speaker
Eventually, I want to get that one looking pretty.
00:07:09
Speaker
And Swords of Fury was one of those games that we played at the show and just fell in love with it.
00:07:13
Speaker
I was like, something about this game.
00:07:15
Speaker
I think it was the music and just, you know, the
00:07:17
Speaker
the call yeah the layout was you know unique and stuff i just really liked it we played a really pretty one at texas pinball festival and i was like i've got to get one and so i found one got it and uh yeah so that's what it is right here basically playing them at shows and enjoying them and thinking that i would really like to have them in my collection so then i add them which one's in the dining room i don't know if did you say which one was i didn't say it was in the dining room that's the whirlwind
00:07:43
Speaker
I'm borrowing that from a friend of mine.
00:07:45
Speaker
I'm doing the total chaos on that one.
00:07:47
Speaker
I still have to do the review.
00:07:49
Speaker
That's actually a work in progress.
00:07:50
Speaker
I hope to have that out pretty soon.
00:07:53
Speaker
Which one's in your bedroom?
00:07:54
Speaker
I don't have one in the bedroom yet.
00:07:58
Speaker
Guns and roses for the mood.
00:08:00
Speaker
If I get rid of the nightstand, I could sit right here.
00:08:03
Speaker
Seriously, I have thought about that.
00:08:07
Speaker
I know how you are, Carrie.
00:08:08
Speaker
With your toe tan, my wife's like, I want a pinball machine.
00:08:12
Speaker
that's never going to leave.
00:08:13
Speaker
And I'm like, well, which ones do you want?
00:08:14
Speaker
And she's like, what was it or vase?
00:08:16
Speaker
You know, it's obviously the first one.
00:08:18
Speaker
I don't know if I want to have that much money tied up into one pinball machine that's never leaving.
00:08:22
Speaker
I mean, it was your vase.
00:08:23
Speaker
And then the second option was whirlwind.
Market Trends and New Releases Impact
00:08:25
Speaker
like, that's better.
00:08:26
Speaker
And then when we ran to this Riviera, it's an EM, you know, oh, EM for like 500 to $1,000.
00:08:32
Speaker
You know, it doesn't bother me.
00:08:35
Speaker
It sits there in the corner.
00:08:39
Speaker
I don't think I have room for an EM downstairs, so.
00:08:42
Speaker
Does it have that EM smell?
00:08:46
Speaker
Something about that.
00:08:47
Speaker
I wish that was like a candle.
00:08:50
Speaker
It's weird, though, because that is a home use only game as well.
00:08:53
Speaker
I had documentation of when they bought it.
00:08:56
Speaker
You're back in the
00:08:57
Speaker
Yeah, in the early 70s.
00:08:59
Speaker
Riviera's from like 72, 73, somewhere around there.
00:09:01
Speaker
He said it was his uncle's and they just sat in the basement and they moved it to his house and they were stubbing their toes on it.
00:09:08
Speaker
So I was like, you're joking me.
00:09:11
Speaker
Like, yeah, it's in really nice condition.
00:09:15
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know what that smell is, but something about it is in all the EMs that I've ever been inside and around.
00:09:20
Speaker
I'm like, I don't know what it is, but if somebody out there knows why they smell the way they do, then feel free to let me know.
00:09:25
Speaker
Does that make you sneeze as well?
00:09:27
Speaker
It's probably the lead-based paint.
00:09:29
Speaker
That's what it is.
00:09:29
Speaker
That's what it is.
00:09:37
Speaker
What is up with the coating on those wires for EMs too?
00:09:41
Speaker
They're like braided cloth or something.
00:09:44
Speaker
They don't trim like they do like plastic.
00:09:46
Speaker
Well, yeah, you're lucky also if you can even see that there's difference in the wires.
00:09:50
Speaker
A lot of the times they're so dirty, you can't even tell that there's any kind of difference in them.
00:09:53
Speaker
You're like, well, I hope I'm going to the right place on this one.
00:09:57
Speaker
I've seen some clean ones and I've seen some where I'm like, nope.
00:10:00
Speaker
Yeah, the one I picked up two weeks ago, Moulin Rouge from 1965.
00:10:04
Speaker
It's in rough condition.
00:10:05
Speaker
I'm pretty for sure a cat lived in it at one point.
00:10:09
Speaker
Yeah, I've had to get a lot of cat hair out of the bottom of it.
00:10:12
Speaker
It's kind of weird.
00:10:15
Speaker
It's up and working now.
00:10:16
Speaker
But even with the cat, did it still have the EM smell?
00:10:21
Speaker
So it's stronger than cat urine.
00:10:25
Speaker
I don't think the cat ever used the bathroom.
00:10:27
Speaker
Definitely slept in it.
00:10:28
Speaker
I was like, wow, how there's, there's coils and relays everywhere.
00:10:32
Speaker
You don't say it's, it is amazing that cats find ways of getting into any space.
00:10:39
Speaker
Anytime we have two cats and we have a box and you open up the box and you turn around, there's a cat in there.
00:10:46
Speaker
We're off the rails.
00:10:50
Speaker
I'm throwing a wrench in the cogs here.
00:10:52
Speaker
You guys are going to be going back and forth and everything.
00:10:55
Speaker
And I'm just going to throw you off topic.
00:10:56
Speaker
Hopefully not though.
00:10:57
Speaker
I would love to get into restorations, but I don't really have the time or the passion for it.
00:11:03
Speaker
So how did you find the time and the passion for this?
00:11:08
Speaker
I like to see things go from bad to good.
00:11:13
Speaker
It's just something satisfying about it.
00:11:15
Speaker
Have you ever watched those?
00:11:16
Speaker
They're actually titled satisfying to watch videos where you watch something.
00:11:20
Speaker
It's something simple, but whatever reason, you're just mesmerized by it.
00:11:23
Speaker
It's the same way with me watching something that's dirty or non-functional, taking it and making it look beautiful.
00:11:31
Speaker
There's just something really satisfying about that.
00:11:34
Speaker
And that's just something that's been within...
00:11:36
Speaker
like my system since I was a kid.
00:11:38
Speaker
I always like to take things apart and put them back together again just to see how they work.
00:11:43
Speaker
And I guess that's kind of pretty much what I do for a living now.
00:11:45
Speaker
So it's like, and when it comes to pinball, it was one of those things where it's like, okay, I've got them.
00:11:51
Speaker
And then I had to learn how to work on them.
00:11:53
Speaker
And then I was like, well, I want this thing to look pretty as well.
00:11:56
Speaker
I want it to be able to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye because a lot of the ones that I got were not that whenever you pick them up, a lot of the ones that we do get do not look like that.
00:12:05
Speaker
So it's just part of the fun, the passion for is just, you know, taking something that doesn't look pretty and making it look pretty and knowing that you can stand back and look at it and go, I made this or I did this kind of thing.
00:12:17
Speaker
You know, it's just, you know, gives me, I don't know.
00:12:20
Speaker
It just feels good.
00:12:23
Speaker
So what made you decide to go all out on Getaway and make it just pristine?
00:12:30
Speaker
That's the thing is that I think this one, for whatever reason, it just evolved into, because I had to go back on, because this one was probably the machine that took the longest due to partially COVID.
00:12:45
Speaker
But the other part is that I was struggling so far, so hard to get the play field that I was working on to do.
00:12:52
Speaker
I wanted it to be unique.
00:12:53
Speaker
And I still have that play field here, and I can show it to you later, but I removed every insert on that game.
00:13:01
Speaker
And I changed it to clear inserts.
00:13:04
Speaker
And I was like, I'm going to be original.
00:13:06
Speaker
I'm going to be unique.
00:13:07
Speaker
Now, whether or not it's going to look good, I have no idea.
00:13:10
Speaker
I was like, it could look horrible and this could just be a complete mistake, you know, and that's still yet to be seen.
00:13:15
Speaker
But I struggled so long and hard on getting the, uh, the, like the water slide decals to look good on the, it just wasn't, I, I'm very picky.
00:13:25
Speaker
So when I'm seeing certain things, I just was not happy with the work I was going.
00:13:30
Speaker
I had to do a lot of sanding and reclear coating and it just was not, I essentially gave up.
00:13:35
Speaker
And now that play field basically hangs in my garage as like a trophy of just, you know, failure in a way.
00:13:40
Speaker
Just like, this is what you started, but you couldn't finish it.
00:13:44
Speaker
It's there on the wall.
00:13:45
Speaker
And it's like, this is what you started.
00:13:46
Speaker
You didn't finish it.
00:13:47
Speaker
So I eventually just bought a new play field.
00:13:50
Speaker
And I was like, you know what?
00:13:52
Speaker
I want, I really wanted the,
00:13:54
Speaker
the grand champion best show award.
00:13:56
Speaker
Cause like every year I would bring a game and I would think it would be good enough to win an award of some sort.
00:14:01
Speaker
I was like, I was like, I just want, I really want that.
00:14:04
Speaker
Just something about that award.
00:14:05
Speaker
I would really like to do it.
00:14:07
Speaker
I have a feeling that I have the capabilities and it's like every year I would see other people's work and I would know that
00:14:14
Speaker
I have to step up my game because it's, I mean, just, you know, making it look pretty is just not enough these days.
00:14:20
Speaker
And every year it's gotten more challenging and more challenging.
00:14:23
Speaker
The competition is getting harder and harder because people are getting into the games that have a lot more skill than I do.
00:14:29
Speaker
And as well as just knowing people that have the ability to assist you in making certain things, fabricating stuff.
00:14:35
Speaker
So for getaway, it was just one of those where I'm like, this is it.
00:14:39
Speaker
I'm putting my, all my, you know, everything in one thing right here.
00:14:42
Speaker
Hopefully, hopefully,
00:14:44
Speaker
it's going to turn out to be the way it is going to give me that award kind of thing.
00:14:47
Speaker
So I had my fingers crossed.
00:14:49
Speaker
I was aiming for best nineties.
00:14:52
Speaker
I was like, I've got to win at least best nineties.
00:14:54
Speaker
I'm like, I don't think I'm going to win best restoration because technically I didn't restore it.
00:14:58
Speaker
It's a new play field.
00:14:59
Speaker
So I was like, I was like, okay, I don't see best restoration, but if I can get best nineties, that that's, that's my goal.
00:15:05
Speaker
At least be acknowledged kind of thing.
00:15:08
Speaker
And so when, as they're going through all the awards and, and for anybody that's seen the video footage and everything of me receiving that award, like, yes, I did get emotional on it because it, it really meant a lot to me because there was a lot of work involved and,
00:15:21
Speaker
The competition was my friends at that too.
00:15:23
Speaker
So as they're giving out the awards, they pass up my game for best nineties and everything.
00:15:28
Speaker
I'm like, man, I'm sitting here doubting myself.
00:15:30
Speaker
What is it that I missed?
00:15:31
Speaker
Is there something that just wasn't good?
00:15:34
Speaker
And then as they're calling out the games, it gets to the grand champion.
00:15:37
Speaker
And I'm like, man,
00:15:39
Speaker
It might be me or it could be this other guy because we all walk around and check out everybody's games.
00:15:45
Speaker
And we're always looking at the competition and we kind of look at it ourselves, even though we're not the official judges.
00:15:50
Speaker
We know the judges are going to see certain things and we're going to go, OK, well, we don't have to worry about this game because this game's got this issue or whatever.
00:15:57
Speaker
So I knew that there was a possibility of one other game.
00:16:00
Speaker
that might beat me.
00:16:03
Speaker
So I wasn't confident that I was going to win kind of thing.
00:16:06
Speaker
So when they did the whole reveal of who won, my heart just dropped.
00:16:11
Speaker
I was like, oh my gosh, it was me.
00:16:13
Speaker
And I got over emotional.
00:16:15
Speaker
And yeah, I might have cried a little bit.
00:16:17
Speaker
But yeah, it was a very big moment.
00:16:20
Speaker
It was right up there with the birth of my kids, sadly.
00:16:22
Speaker
But my kids more, obviously.
00:16:24
Speaker
But there are very few times I've just cried over something.
00:16:29
Speaker
And that was one of those moments.
00:16:31
Speaker
But have any of your kids won best in show?
00:16:35
Speaker
So they need to step it up.
00:16:36
Speaker
Look at what the other kids are doing.
00:16:43
Speaker
Well, okay, that's awesome.
00:16:44
Speaker
Do you have a project you're currently working on or do you have one of those titles you're looking for to restore?
00:16:51
Speaker
I need to work on Earthshaker.
00:16:53
Speaker
That's the next one I want to do.
00:16:54
Speaker
I want to try to go for maybe best 80s.
00:16:57
Speaker
It's like from now, it's like I just kind of want to get every award.
00:17:00
Speaker
It's like I'm not aiming for best of show.
00:17:02
Speaker
Now I'm just kind of want, I want best 80s.
00:17:05
Speaker
I want, you know, best 90s.
00:17:06
Speaker
I kind of want to get that.
00:17:07
Speaker
I was hoping to get best 90s on my Johnny Mnemonic.
00:17:12
Speaker
So I was like, okay, maybe I'll play around with the 80s.
00:17:14
Speaker
So I'm going to try to get an Earthshaker hopefully done by TPF.
00:17:19
Speaker
I just got to get started on the damn thing.
00:17:21
Speaker
It's out there in the garage right now.
00:17:25
Speaker
Those are good games.
00:17:30
Speaker
Is there anything else you want to share with us before we move on to some of the news?
00:17:33
Speaker
Or do you have any other questions, Scott?
00:17:36
Speaker
Well, speaking of Texas, I was unaware that the hotel came online and immediately sold out.
00:17:46
Speaker
In less than three minutes.
00:17:51
Speaker
I'm looking at alternative housing for that.
00:17:53
Speaker
There's all kinds of hotels all around that you can get.
00:17:56
Speaker
But it's just, for me, it's just easier to have everything right there in one hotel and stuff.
00:18:01
Speaker
And happy hour is always a plus, too.
00:18:04
Speaker
No, it's always good.
00:18:06
Speaker
So Scott, you kind of talked about this before we started recording, but you wanted to get kind of Carrie's thoughts on Venom now that it's been a couple of weeks.
00:18:14
Speaker
It's been cooking for a while.
00:18:16
Speaker
This is the second major release for the year from Stern.
00:18:20
Speaker
First one being Foo Fighters, which you own.
Deep Dive into Venom Pinball Game
00:18:25
Speaker
Now, if you want to go check out Carrie's videos because Carrie goes through and breaks down
00:18:32
Speaker
what his thoughts are on the gameplay, but also on the interest level.
00:18:37
Speaker
And I'm wondering if the interest level has changed at all since you did that video about three weeks ago.
00:18:46
Speaker
And it's one of those things where this is not something that I pride myself on.
00:18:51
Speaker
I consider myself to be very humble, honestly.
00:18:53
Speaker
But I typically have a pretty good feeling about certain games when they get released.
00:18:57
Speaker
And I can see gameplay.
00:18:59
Speaker
And I can kind of get a good feeling if this is something that I'm going to like.
00:19:04
Speaker
The majority of people are going to like it and stuff like that.
00:19:07
Speaker
So and it's just kind of rain true.
00:19:10
Speaker
My thoughts on Jurassic Park.
00:19:12
Speaker
I was one of those games I remember watching the stream.
00:19:13
Speaker
I was like, this game is going to be great.
00:19:15
Speaker
This is an amazing game.
00:19:16
Speaker
Same thing with Godzilla and stuff like that.
00:19:18
Speaker
It's just like certain games really just call out to me.
00:19:20
Speaker
There's just something about it.
00:19:22
Speaker
I can tell that they're going to do well.
00:19:24
Speaker
And I have yet to play Venom.
00:19:26
Speaker
But by looking at the gameplay stream and everything, it seems like a typical fan layout.
00:19:33
Speaker
And that's one of those things where I think what's going to stand out about this game is the code.
00:19:38
Speaker
A lot is going to be weighing on Dwight's shoulders for this game because it's going to mainly depend on what he's got going for it.
00:19:45
Speaker
Because everything else is going to be your standard shoot here, shoot here.
00:19:48
Speaker
Yes, the game changes.
00:19:49
Speaker
I think the premium is obviously the way to go if you want to get this game done.
00:19:53
Speaker
unless you just really want to experience the RP edge aspect in pinball, which I'm totally on board for.
00:19:59
Speaker
I think what he's wanting to do and bring into pinball, like bring it on.
00:20:03
Speaker
I know people have their concerns and kind of iffy feelings about it, but I still feel that layout wise, I mean, okay.
00:20:11
Speaker
It's a proven layout.
00:20:14
Speaker
And he is the king of fans.
00:20:17
Speaker
Attack from Mars and Medieval Madness.
00:20:19
Speaker
And he has Stranger Things.
00:20:21
Speaker
They're all excellent fan layouts.
00:20:24
Speaker
So you can design those nicely.
00:20:27
Speaker
I just think that it's still going to come down to code on this one.
00:20:30
Speaker
And I won't get to really experience that until I get around to playing it.
00:20:33
Speaker
I know a lot of people that have played it.
00:20:35
Speaker
comment like I knew they would the most top most top used word is fast I'm like yeah like the game yeah it's fast I mean it's pretty obvious anybody watching it or played it was that was their top word to use was it's fast it's fast well he did that on the that return back to the inlanes so you know those ball hoppers that he has on both sides mm-hmm
00:20:59
Speaker
it cuts off split seconds because those balls release when they're coming down the habit trails.
00:21:05
Speaker
And so, yes, it's not your typical game.
00:21:07
Speaker
It will automatically play faster just because you're feeding balls lower on the play field.
00:21:12
Speaker
And I think that's going to be a learning aspect for a lot of players out there is that, you know, a lot of the times it's kind of like baseball, keep your eye on the ball.
00:21:19
Speaker
So whenever you hit a ball up, it's a particular, it's a 180 scoop shot, the 180 turnaround, you're,
00:21:23
Speaker
You're watching that as it's going to feed to the next wire form, and you're expecting that eventually reach your flipper.
00:21:28
Speaker
But while you may be keeping your eye on that ball, one's already shot out, and you've missed your shot.
00:21:32
Speaker
So I think that's going to be a learning curve for a lot of people, and probably including myself.
00:21:37
Speaker
Because I know on Halloween and the Scooby games, those elevators that drop the ball back into the end lane, I'd miss that every time.
00:21:47
Speaker
I'm just like, man, I can never remember, even though there's a particular sound, a little bit of a light cue on there, but I never could get it down.
00:21:56
Speaker
Yeah, no, I totally get you.
00:21:58
Speaker
I think the game is definitely going to be highly dependent on the code.
00:22:01
Speaker
It's the same way with Stranger Things.
00:22:02
Speaker
At first, when it first launched, you know, I wasn't impressed with it.
00:22:05
Speaker
Now it's a highly sought after game.
00:22:06
Speaker
And my thoughts eventually did change on the game over a year ago at Expo.
00:22:11
Speaker
I was like, man, when the lights turned down, I got more into the game.
00:22:14
Speaker
I think the atmosphere of which you play that game is really what makes it stand out.
00:22:20
Speaker
I mean, like, yeah, I still couldn't get the ball into the Demogorgon's mouth, but at least they updated it to where it's basically got HP and you can knock it down and kill it that way.
00:22:28
Speaker
So that helped code evolved and made it better.
00:22:33
Speaker
Same with Deadpool, you know, Deadpool.
00:22:36
Speaker
Deadpool was kind of flat when it was released, but it's one of the it's it's one of those games that I know if I have.
00:22:44
Speaker
10 minutes, I can go down and still have a good time.
00:22:49
Speaker
I may not, I may not crush it, but I can still have a good time and I know I'm not going to be chopping wood at it.
00:22:54
Speaker
It's a fast game, but the, the way they did the code, it, it, it is fun.
00:23:00
Speaker
I want a Deadpool for sure.
00:23:01
Speaker
And there's one here at the family center and I played it just recently and the switch on the scoop is broken.
00:23:08
Speaker
So if you want to play a Deadpool that's like not fun, break the scoop switch and see how much fun you have.
00:23:14
Speaker
That's where everything happens.
00:23:17
Speaker
You hit the scoop every fifth shot.
00:23:20
Speaker
So I'm sitting there waiting for me to do something.
00:23:22
Speaker
It's got to do a ball search and then eventually it shoots out again.
00:23:25
Speaker
But I was like, well, I'm killing time while I'm waiting for my wife to finish on the coin pusher machine.
00:23:33
Speaker
We had to lower the rings like that here, and it was the sword lock was broken, and it wasn't registering for the two towers multiball.
00:23:40
Speaker
So it was like you couldn't do, I don't know, the easy multiballs to get into weren't easy because they weren't working.
00:23:47
Speaker
It's annoying when that stuff happens.
00:23:49
Speaker
So Josh just went straight for Valinor.
00:23:52
Speaker
You can't go to Valinor without, you've got to complete two towers, though.
00:23:56
Speaker
No, okay, well, all right.
00:24:00
Speaker
I wish I could go straight to Valinor, but no.
00:24:03
Speaker
So yeah, back to Venom, before we go off too much of a tangent, like, yeah, like I said, the game, visually, aesthetically wise, Yeti did great on the art.
00:24:10
Speaker
This is like, it's one of those things people said a lot too, is that it looks busy on the play field because he did a lot of characters.
00:24:18
Speaker
Well, Deadpool is the same way.
00:24:21
Speaker
If you strip out Yeti's artwork, the play field is not that packed.
00:24:27
Speaker
But with Yeti's artwork, it actually makes it feel more full.
00:24:32
Speaker
And I'm not saying you have to have more on the play field because obviously you don't to have a great game, but you do have to feel like you are getting your getting your money's worth.
00:24:47
Speaker
I've said it before.
00:24:49
Speaker
Venom is is a big risk for Stern because they're doing a couple of things simultaneously there.
00:24:59
Speaker
One, this game is something that
00:25:02
Speaker
and I don't want this to sound demeaning or insulting, this could have been a P3 game.
00:25:09
Speaker
Because if you look at the shots, they're all upper half, upper third.
00:25:15
Speaker
And yeah, you can do the things hanging down off the side.
00:25:19
Speaker
So it feels very similar to that style of game.
00:25:23
Speaker
I know there's more to it, and so don't take it too far.
00:25:26
Speaker
But then you also have the XP where it's more of a video game feel.
00:25:32
Speaker
Where if you, yeah, if you're a legend, you can stand up and speed run the game.
00:25:36
Speaker
But for the most part, you're going to be chipping away, getting more experience, getting better at the battles.
00:25:42
Speaker
And it's saving your progress.
00:25:46
Speaker
That's the challenge, though, is that if you're... I was disappointed that they didn't play that more in Stern's Reveal.
00:25:55
Speaker
And in their review, they, that should have been a focus to say, Hey, this is for you guys who are the online role-playing games, the, the video games that where you're building up experience, this is your game.
00:26:07
Speaker
And this is why you should consider this game, but they were selling it like a typical game.
00:26:12
Speaker
And, and that's really where you're going to fail.
00:26:16
Speaker
Cause if you look at the venom play play field and compare that to a Godzilla play field,
00:26:24
Speaker
you're going to wonder where the assets are.
00:26:27
Speaker
Well, the bottom line is it's a different style game.
00:26:30
Speaker
So it's that that's just the visual inspection.
00:26:33
Speaker
I'm not saying the whole game experience, but you're going to make those comparisons.
00:26:40
Speaker
Well, what made me chuckle too is, is don't get me wrong.
00:26:43
Speaker
I love a good video mode, but I, when they were touting, this is like the best video mode.
00:26:47
Speaker
If not the very top five, I don't like the video mode.
00:26:54
Speaker
It's been done before.
00:26:54
Speaker
It's werewolves on Dracula.
00:26:57
Speaker
It's, you know, it's, I don't know.
00:27:01
Speaker
It's very bold to say that.
00:27:04
Speaker
Well, they're gimmicks, right?
00:27:06
Speaker
I mean, it's supposed to just, hey, here's like your...
00:27:11
Speaker
Do you remember like the old video games where there was like an Easter egg and you ended up like playing space invaders in the middle of a game or something like that?
00:27:18
Speaker
You know, it would take you to a completely side game and you play that and then jumps back to the game.
00:27:23
Speaker
That's what, that's what video mode seemed to me.
00:27:26
Speaker
is that it's like, okay, this is a fun distraction.
00:27:29
Speaker
I guess you could say a little bit like black Rose.
00:27:32
Speaker
They have those mini, you know, those mini video modes where you're throwing the knife or whatever, you know, jump into the ship or you're swimming out of the water and try to see, but I like those ones.
00:27:43
Speaker
I just, I guess, I mean, it's not as bad as theater or magic playing pinball inside of pinball.
00:27:51
Speaker
But it just, I don't know.
00:27:53
Speaker
I think overall Venom, I don't know what it is about this game.
00:27:56
Speaker
I just, I don't really have the urge to own one.
00:28:00
Speaker
Like Venom's all right.
00:28:01
Speaker
Like I'm not opposed to him.
00:28:03
Speaker
I know of a few people who are buying it.
00:28:07
Speaker
but I don't know a few, but I don't usually in Carrie, you got on this in your video.
00:28:15
Speaker
Usually there's a lot of people you put feelers out.
00:28:18
Speaker
Hey, new games coming out.
00:28:20
Speaker
And usually get like the handful of people, the people who buy, buy a lot of them and the people who it's like their dream theme.
00:28:27
Speaker
And you get at least some buzz from like 40 to 50% of the people with venom, the buzzer,
00:28:36
Speaker
okay, I don't know of one person who was super excited about this direction.
00:28:42
Speaker
Now that again, this is a new direction.
00:28:46
Speaker
People haven't played it yet to really experience it.
00:28:50
Speaker
It could be, you know, it could be the best thing that happened to pinball in 20 years.
00:28:56
Speaker
Well, I think the other part too is, I don't know.
00:28:59
Speaker
Listening to Dwight, they've really been pushing that.
00:29:01
Speaker
It's not a mode based game either.
00:29:04
Speaker
I don't know if that turns people off as well.
00:29:06
Speaker
Like I like my World Cup soccer.
00:29:08
Speaker
It's not a mode based game.
00:29:10
Speaker
But Elwyn's games are all mode based games.
00:29:14
Speaker
OK, I mean, think of Godzilla like that.
00:29:17
Speaker
You're just playing in the city and then you are like this.
00:29:20
Speaker
But what I'm saying is that there are OK, I'm taking this path and then I'm taking this path and I'm taking this path.
00:29:27
Speaker
It's and people that's obviously been a successful formula because he's responsible for at least 50 percent of Stern's production right now.
00:29:39
Speaker
I'm like, it's the, I think a big chunk of it is definitely the theme.
00:29:42
Speaker
Like pinball is already niche as it is.
00:29:45
Speaker
And so now you're dabbling into a niche theme inside of a niche hobby.
00:29:49
Speaker
And like a buddy of mine, best friend since kindergarten kind of thing, loves Venom.
00:29:55
Speaker
I showed him this machine.
00:29:55
Speaker
He's like, this is the only game that you've ever showed me that I want.
00:29:59
Speaker
Like, this game looks awesome.
00:30:01
Speaker
He's like, he's like, I want it.
00:30:02
Speaker
And I told him the price and he was like, oh no.
00:30:05
Speaker
Like, not going to happen.
00:30:07
Speaker
Well, you, you, and you touched on that.
00:30:10
Speaker
And I, it seems to me that I know they're selling him and this is a fan
Pricing Concerns for Limited Edition Machines
00:30:16
Speaker
This is not a business person talking, but we have pushed past my comfort level for like, I was an Ellie buyer all the time.
00:30:29
Speaker
And then four years ago, four years ago.
00:30:32
Speaker
I, I got, I, okay, we're coming up on it, but I got Jurassic park, Ellie.
00:30:37
Speaker
I got Avengers LE, like the Elwynn one.
00:30:43
Speaker
That's the last LE I've... Okay, no, I bought Rush LE also.
00:30:47
Speaker
But I have a feeling that Rush is my last LE.
00:30:51
Speaker
Because the price point has approached an uncomfortable level where it's hard for me to commit that much on a game that I'm not all in on.
00:31:02
Speaker
And that's the reason why I went all in on Rush.
00:31:05
Speaker
Because Tom Graf and I have followed Rush our entire lives.
00:31:12
Speaker
But that brings up a good point.
00:31:14
Speaker
I mean, we can, I don't know if we're down with Venom or not, but segueing into Jurassic Park 30th.
00:31:19
Speaker
The original LE came out at $9,000.
00:31:21
Speaker
That was four years ago.
00:31:24
Speaker
And now we have JP 30th anniversary and it's at $13,000, which is in line with other LEs.
00:31:30
Speaker
It is, but that's a 4,000 and it's a 50% increase in four years.
00:31:37
Speaker
And that's, that is, that's substantial.
00:31:44
Speaker
And so is that, you know, if every year you're going to the movies and you're paying $10 a ticket and then you're paying $12 a ticket, then you're paying $14 a ticket, then you're paying $16, eventually you're going to say, I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.
00:32:04
Speaker
And eventually people are going to say, well, maybe I'm not going to buy this game.
00:32:08
Speaker
And that was kind of my point with Bond, with the Gomez Bond, is that I looked at that and I said, okay, this looks like a fun game, but is it worth that price point for me?
00:32:27
Speaker
So I passed on that game and I'm in line to get my Foo Fighters.
00:32:33
Speaker
But I still pushed it off to the next shipment cycle because, again, I'm still in that mode of, okay, what is my comfort level in spending for games?
00:32:50
Speaker
It feels to me that everybody is in a similar vibe where we love pinball, we love the machines, but are we getting to that
00:33:03
Speaker
that point where people are turning away.
00:33:07
Speaker
I think it's definitely going to be highly dependent on how like your love for the theme.
00:33:13
Speaker
and it's just going to be something I think that people are going to be like, is this something that I want to put in my house instead of it just being another item on the shelf that you can just throw inside your house?
00:33:22
Speaker
It's just going to require a lot more, you know, people to be like more conscious of their spendings and everything because of the price point.
00:33:29
Speaker
Yeah, I think the other thing that's really, at least for me, that's played into it.
00:33:33
Speaker
I don't like moving these machines if I don't have to.
00:33:36
Speaker
I've already went through that phase.
00:33:37
Speaker
I went through like 50 machines in three years.
00:33:39
Speaker
You know what I'm saying?
00:33:40
Speaker
Because I wanted to play them all.
00:33:42
Speaker
And the other thing is too, is like, I don't want to spend the money on this game.
00:33:47
Speaker
Like two years ago, I could buy a game and if I didn't love it, I could move it pretty quick.
00:33:52
Speaker
And it was even to the point people were willing to make the 180 mile drive to come out to my house to pick it up.
00:33:58
Speaker
And I would have multiple offers in less than three days.
00:34:02
Speaker
Now people are waiting weeks, if not months to sell a pinball machine.
00:34:07
Speaker
And they're taking a substantial hit on the used market.
00:34:10
Speaker
So it's like, well, do I really want,
00:34:12
Speaker
Before, it was like, I don't mind buying this game because if I don't like it, I'll move it.
00:34:16
Speaker
Now, it's like, if I don't like this game, I could be stuck with it for a while.
00:34:20
Speaker
How much of a hit are you willing to take?
00:34:22
Speaker
Because before... Now, I will say, the ride that we've had over the last four years is unrealistic.
00:34:31
Speaker
It was fueled by...
00:34:34
Speaker
A couple of things.
00:34:36
Speaker
We're not going to discount that.
00:34:37
Speaker
They've had an amazing run the last five years of Stern and other manufacturers, but we know that Stern drives the bus, right?
00:34:47
Speaker
The last five years have been excellent games.
00:34:50
Speaker
Couple that with people not being able to pay for vacations for their kids, not being able to go, you know, take their significant other on a vacation.
00:35:00
Speaker
They're like, well, what can we do?
00:35:01
Speaker
So they bought these things to put in their home.
00:35:06
Speaker
And so it artificially bumped the demand for it.
00:35:12
Speaker
And we are going through now the post honeymoon hangover where people say, okay, I already bought the game.
00:35:19
Speaker
I want to go to Maui again.
00:35:22
Speaker
I mean, we're probably still in the refraction period of like the giant load that was burst in March.
00:35:29
Speaker
I mean, when you had an overload of games that just came out at one time and it was just like oversaturation of the market from different manufacturers.
00:35:38
Speaker
And so I think we're still in a way kind of recovering from that.
00:35:43
Speaker
Of those five games that came out.
00:35:52
Speaker
Now I will say that, okay, I'm going to throw Pulp Fiction out there because we're not going to see Pulp Fiction for a while.
00:35:58
Speaker
Like we've seen the videos and that looks like it's very, the buzz is still there for that.
00:36:03
Speaker
If you keep your fingers crossed, it should be October.
00:36:06
Speaker
Hopefully we'll see it at Expo.
00:36:08
Speaker
But the, but all the other games, the only one that is, you know, that Josh, you and Carrie, you is Foo Fighters.
00:36:18
Speaker
of all those games that were released and even Foo Fighters, if you want a Foo Fighters, you can get one right now.
00:36:26
Speaker
There's really no wait.
00:36:28
Speaker
The only game that I've heard that it's hard to still get your hands on is Godzilla Premium, new in box.
00:36:33
Speaker
Those still are selling like hotcakes.
00:36:35
Speaker
But other than that, pretty much if you want a game, you can call it.
00:36:38
Speaker
It's basically Godzilla and Deadpool seem to be the ones.
00:36:41
Speaker
Yeah, but Deadpool isn't game.
00:36:43
Speaker
It's game made like once a year.
00:36:45
Speaker
And the supply isn't huge on it.
00:36:46
Speaker
So that makes sense.
00:36:50
Speaker
Well, the other question I have too, speaking of, you know, now we have a release Jurassic Park 30th.
00:36:54
Speaker
Do you feel like this cuts out the knees of Venom?
00:36:58
Speaker
Because this is another game release.
00:37:00
Speaker
I mean, is this Stern competing with itself on sales at this point?
00:37:04
Speaker
I'll go last on this one.
00:37:05
Speaker
I want to hear your talk, your takes, both of you.
Impact of New Jurassic Park Edition on Market
00:37:10
Speaker
I don't think it's going to hurt or help Venom at all, actually.
00:37:15
Speaker
You're only going to be getting 500 of these in the first place, and I don't even know the demand's going to be there for this.
00:37:21
Speaker
I mean, for me, I mean, I guess we can just get our takes on the game in general is that
00:37:27
Speaker
I mean, I look at it and I'm just like, OK, it's Jurassic Park.
00:37:31
Speaker
It's just, you know, a horse of a different color.
00:37:33
Speaker
I mean, I mean, eventually when I do my video talking about this, I'll be sure to meme that and stuff.
00:37:38
Speaker
But I mean, it's it's the game that we've already played.
00:37:41
Speaker
We know how it plays.
00:37:42
Speaker
The game is in a way readily available.
00:37:45
Speaker
on the secondhand market as well as dealers, I'm sure still have them, but it's just prettier.
00:37:52
Speaker
I mean, if I, if I ask you guys, you know, when the game was initially released, what was probably, I guess the least attractive part of Jurassic park to you?
00:38:05
Speaker
probably the artwork.
00:38:06
Speaker
People were, okay.
00:38:08
Speaker
I will also be in the camp to say, I thought the artwork was, was fine.
00:38:12
Speaker
It was definitely in the, it gets the job done.
00:38:16
Speaker
It is not a wow art package, but I thought it was good enough.
00:38:20
Speaker
Yeah, but the art for a lot of us was the weak point.
00:38:23
Speaker
Like, oh man, it sucks that we didn't get movie assets.
00:38:26
Speaker
Okay, but at least we got the theme song.
00:38:28
Speaker
But the art is probably the weak spot on this game in its entirety kind of thing.
00:38:32
Speaker
And so when I look at this 30th, I'm like, well, it's my favorite art package.
00:38:37
Speaker
I mean, I think this one looks better when it comes to the artwork on everything.
00:38:45
Speaker
I think... Okay, so the thing is, I...
00:38:50
Speaker
I've heard from distributors and different dealers from a handful of them.
00:38:55
Speaker
And I'm hearing that from some of them, this is moving better than Venom.
00:38:59
Speaker
I'm hearing that some of them, they're moving about the same.
00:39:04
Speaker
I think it's one of those things that when Venom was shown, I think whoever had extra money and said no, they'd already spent the money at that point.
00:39:13
Speaker
I don't know if this really cuts out the knees of Venom.
00:39:15
Speaker
I think, like Carrie was saying, it's kind of like they're two separate things.
00:39:21
Speaker
it's a product that's already been on the market for four years now.
00:39:24
Speaker
So it's hard to compete with a game that came out brand new just three weeks ago.
00:39:32
Speaker
I can also see too that, like I said, I've talked to a handful of distributors and they said this is just blowing Venom out of the water and that it's in more sales form today than Venom did on day one too.
00:39:47
Speaker
It's hard to tell.
00:39:48
Speaker
It's hard to tell.
00:39:50
Speaker
Because like you're saying, it's such a niche theme.
00:39:53
Speaker
Venom is such a weird theme, and Jurassic Park is so beloved right now.
00:39:59
Speaker
I don't know many people that play that game are like, that just is terrible.
00:40:02
Speaker
It's the perfect beginner game, a novice game, and I think if you really love this game, this art package really puts it over the top for it.
00:40:14
Speaker
The red, the iconic scene with the raptors attacking the T-Rex,
00:40:20
Speaker
I think it's a great, it was a great finish to a great game, especially when the art package was the, like you said,
00:40:33
Speaker
the weakest part, which even in that point, I felt like it was a 7 out of 10, if not a little bit more.
00:40:38
Speaker
It's not like it was terrible.
00:40:39
Speaker
It's not like we're talking back to the future from day to day.
00:40:43
Speaker
And granted, guys, we still haven't got all the details for this game yet.
00:40:46
Speaker
The full details should be released tomorrow, so I don't even know if Johnny Crap is still doing the art for the 30th or not.
00:40:54
Speaker
a little bit like the style of it.
00:40:57
Speaker
But it could be a toss-up.
00:40:59
Speaker
The plate feels the same.
00:41:00
Speaker
The plate feels the same.
00:41:01
Speaker
It feels the same.
00:41:02
Speaker
It's the reskin on the back glass and then the art package on the cabinet.
00:41:06
Speaker
But my main thing, and I want to, Scott's the guy that we need to listen to on this because I want to get feedback
00:41:12
Speaker
from current limited edition owners and how this affects your mindset and how does this even affect you at all?
00:41:20
Speaker
Do you feel that another limited edition game is coming out?
00:41:25
Speaker
That's basically another lead.
00:41:27
Speaker
I mean, does it affect you financially or like, I mean, how does it make you feel Scott?
00:41:34
Speaker
Well, I'm going to take the first question that Josh asked and, um,
00:41:39
Speaker
I will say this obviously has to affect Venom on some level because if you have a game that's coming out and 500 games selling at $13,000, that will take money out of the market.
00:41:55
Speaker
That will take gas out of the tank.
00:41:58
Speaker
However, I don't think anybody is dropping their Venom order to buy this.
00:42:06
Speaker
So I know that's, that may be a nuance, but I'm saying this doesn't help Venom, but I'm not sure this affects Venom as much as we think it will.
00:42:17
Speaker
But because if Venom were the only game, then people would buy it, but there are alternatives out there, including Foo Fighters.
00:42:27
Speaker
At the, this is a dangerous road for Stern to walk down because this is what JJP went down.
00:42:40
Speaker
I have a ruby red Wizard of Oz.
00:42:43
Speaker
I got the ruby red edition.
00:42:46
Speaker
Then with the Hobbit, they had the LE.
00:42:49
Speaker
Then they had the Smog edition.
00:42:53
Speaker
Then they had the Black Arrow edition.
00:42:57
Speaker
And I know that there were people who that matters to them to say there is a limited quantity of this game.
00:43:06
Speaker
And it's the same reason why some of those really limited edition, like spooky, that was their hallmark.
00:43:15
Speaker
We are limiting it to a certain amount of games.
00:43:18
Speaker
And so people, if they wanted America's most haunted, they're like, I need to get it now because there's only so many of them.
00:43:25
Speaker
It's, it's a forced scarcity.
00:43:31
Speaker
the market this hurts the most for is the premium owners already.
00:43:37
Speaker
Because what's going to happen is if you are interested in, and I, one of the guys I know is interested in this.
00:43:45
Speaker
He's like, I think I'm going to upgrade my premium.
00:43:47
Speaker
And so he's willing to sell his premium to buy this.
00:43:53
Speaker
I doubt there'll be too many of these new buyers who are buying this game.
00:43:59
Speaker
It's probably existing customers that have a premium who are willing to sell their premium to upgrade to this one.
00:44:09
Speaker
So you're going to see a big flood of the market in at least 200 premiums are going to change hands.
00:44:18
Speaker
of this and supply and demand, right?
00:44:21
Speaker
If you have 200 premiums moving over the next four or five months, you're gonna take more of a hit on your games.
00:44:32
Speaker
So in the past, when it was hot, you could buy a game and you could sell it a month later for the, probably more because of scarcity, but you weren't losing a ton of money on it.
00:44:45
Speaker
Now you're getting back to the used car market where
00:44:49
Speaker
you should expect to take a $500 to $800 hit when you're selling your new game.
00:44:57
Speaker
So, I mean, as a limited edition owner, do you feel anything from this agreement?
00:45:02
Speaker
I actually, I like the green look.
00:45:05
Speaker
So the green look and the insider connectivity, I actually didn't take out the insert.
00:45:13
Speaker
I put it in the coin door.
00:45:14
Speaker
So I bought the insider connected and I put in the coin door so I can still scan, you know, I can scan or play home player when it like that.
00:45:22
Speaker
So I feel that my edition is basically the same as this one.
00:45:26
Speaker
So personally, it doesn't matter to me.
00:45:30
Speaker
I also like if you're going to make something that is the best version of what you are offering, then I'm of the opinion you should at least have enough of those for demand.
00:45:45
Speaker
And Stern hasn't been doing that recently.
00:45:49
Speaker
I would say until Venom, because there was this for scarcity, people would buy an LE and then they'd try to flip it for another thousand dollars.
00:45:58
Speaker
But Venom is not doing that this.
00:46:03
Speaker
So you are making it.
00:46:05
Speaker
I'm not one of those people who really care too much about being one of 500.
00:46:10
Speaker
If that's the vert, if, if my version is the best version, I want everybody to be able to get it.
00:46:15
Speaker
But there are exclusives to LEs.
00:46:18
Speaker
Like you can't get their art blades, like the LE art blades.
00:46:23
Speaker
You can't put them in unless you're willing to go to like a third party to make a similar one.
00:46:30
Speaker
And so there are people who are like, no, I want to be part of the 500.
00:46:33
Speaker
So that is dangerous because it will affect future LE sales from the market that cares about the exclusivity.
00:46:44
Speaker
And it's one of those things that we don't know yet, but for all we know, the 30th anniversary edition may have another code tweak to it that only the 30th anniversary might have.
00:46:53
Speaker
That would piss me off.
00:46:57
Speaker
If you're looking at, if you're saying, what would make me angry about a game?
00:47:04
Speaker
is if they released a cosmetic different version of the game, but they also cut me out.
00:47:12
Speaker
So my LE, my original LE is no longer the best version available or a best version available.
00:47:22
Speaker
So yes, that would be crossing the line for me.
00:47:26
Speaker
Well, and it makes you wonder if this will help...
00:47:29
Speaker
I don't know if it'll hinder the price because looking on Jurassic Park dot com.
00:47:38
Speaker
It looks like this game, if this is right, anywhere from 14, five to 16.
00:47:42
Speaker
I mean, they're selling from 12, five to someone.
00:47:47
Speaker
They're mostly around 12, five to 13.
00:47:50
Speaker
I just, I don't think this really hurts the price.
00:47:53
Speaker
If anything, if I was an L.A.
00:47:54
Speaker
owner and I bought it at nine grand four years ago, I'd be quite pleased as punch because like Scott was saying, a 45 to 50% increase over four years, that's a pretty good return on investment.
00:48:07
Speaker
But what about if they released Iron Maiden number of the beast?
00:48:12
Speaker
It wouldn't bother me either.
00:48:14
Speaker
Okay, but the people who have the LE version that is currently worth, you know, around that price, it will actually affect their value.
Future Implications for LE Pinball Market
00:48:24
Speaker
And so there will be a subgroup that it does affect.
00:48:28
Speaker
So do you think this will still affect the original JP LE owners?
00:48:36
Speaker
This shaved at least $1,000 off the value of my game.
00:48:42
Speaker
Because at one point, my game was going for $18,000.
00:48:49
Speaker
And it's the same thing as Medieval Madness, right?
00:48:54
Speaker
Medieval Madness was that grail pin that no one could get.
00:48:58
Speaker
And then they remade it.
00:49:00
Speaker
And all the original ones, there are people who still want the original.
00:49:03
Speaker
I'm not one of those guys because I don't really like working on games.
00:49:07
Speaker
And so I, I was grateful to get the, the re-release version of it, but I bought it for $8,000.
00:49:14
Speaker
I didn't buy it for $18,000.
00:49:17
Speaker
And same with Cactus Canyon.
00:49:19
Speaker
Carrie, would you have bought that Cactus Canyon for $18,000?
00:49:26
Speaker
And the re-release of Cactus Canyon is better than the original version significantly.
00:49:33
Speaker
Updated hardware, boards, they'll have to service it.
00:49:36
Speaker
I have yet to pull the play field on this.
00:49:38
Speaker
And I would say my medieval madness is it's not the Royal Edition, but it's basically the Royal Edition because I bought the standard, then I bought the light kit, I bought the topper, and I bought...
00:49:52
Speaker
Um, all this stuff.
00:49:53
Speaker
Uh, so the only thing it doesn't have is powder coating, but I, uh, ironically, I like the way mine plays a little better than my friends.
00:50:00
Speaker
That's a Royal edition.
00:50:02
Speaker
But absolutely, when you do release a new skin of something, it does affect the value.
00:50:08
Speaker
So if that's a big deal to you and you're a collector that is using pins as a money bank, so to speak, I can put money in this and take it out when I sell it, your value just decreased.
00:50:23
Speaker
So how will that affect future LEs?
00:50:26
Speaker
I think you're going to see this cool the market just a little bit.
00:50:31
Speaker
Because people will say, oh, well, if I'm buying an LE, it may not be worth more than what I'm paying for.
00:50:42
Speaker
It's going to be interesting.
00:50:42
Speaker
I guess if you bought this as an investment or your old LE, I still think you'd come out ahead.
00:50:49
Speaker
But overall, I just don't see it as a lose-lose at this point.
00:50:54
Speaker
No, they're going to make a grundle of money.
00:50:56
Speaker
Anytime you can sell
00:50:59
Speaker
an LE, you're making more money per unit.
00:51:02
Speaker
That's the reason why Stern does it.
00:51:07
Speaker
Their profit margin on an LE is higher.
00:51:11
Speaker
So you're getting 500 of those.
00:51:12
Speaker
You know, this isn't an Elvira.
00:51:16
Speaker
How many Elvira 40s were there?
00:51:19
Speaker
Like 199 or something?
00:51:22
Speaker
And there's 500 of these.
00:51:23
Speaker
There's like only 50 of the SLEs of that, of the
00:51:29
Speaker
They should have like cut off little fat, like little pieces of the T-Rex from the movie and stuck it in the game.
00:51:35
Speaker
They should put the, what the, the Triceratops, the sick one that was, uh,
00:51:41
Speaker
That's a big pile of poop.
00:51:46
Speaker
I should have been in a game.
00:51:48
Speaker
Just pay for that line.
00:51:50
Speaker
But that's the main thing is that I think a lot of people that are going to get this are ones that just want the best of the best.
00:51:56
Speaker
They want that status.
00:51:58
Speaker
And if that's something that they look at me personally, I don't care about that.
00:52:02
Speaker
I mean, I got the game essentially back here.
00:52:05
Speaker
But I mean, I still get the layout and the experience of Jurassic Park.
00:52:09
Speaker
I mean, it's still a great game.
00:52:10
Speaker
I would love to have a premium, but the pro plays plenty great for me.
00:52:15
Speaker
And one thing I still need to do, I forgot to do that.
00:52:18
Speaker
I needed to show my daughter that trailer for Jurassic Park and get her reaction to it.
00:52:24
Speaker
Oh, well, I, yeah, it's officially released and then I'll show her that one.
00:52:30
Speaker
No, here's, here's a question I do have for you guys is,
00:52:38
Speaker
I want to know, first off, for the audience people, same thing.
00:52:41
Speaker
I already told you my take on the LE.
00:52:45
Speaker
I'm okay with the value coming down a little bit because I thought it was kind of overvalued anyway.
00:52:51
Speaker
But I'm wondering if that was a big deal for you and if that will affect your LE investing in the future.
00:52:58
Speaker
So that's one thing.
00:52:59
Speaker
Two, we haven't even talked about this game as in, what do you like?
00:53:04
Speaker
Is this a smart move for Stern?
00:53:09
Speaker
And what do you like different or compare and contrast?
00:53:13
Speaker
This is like the high school essay, right?
00:53:15
Speaker
Compare and contrast this version versus previous version.
00:53:18
Speaker
Cause this isn't a vault version.
00:53:20
Speaker
Like they didn't go in and fix anything.
00:53:22
Speaker
They basically, they, you know, they put a car wrap on it and sold it.
00:53:30
Speaker
So when you say high school, do you want like an introduction with a three page or three paragraph?
00:53:36
Speaker
Don't use chat GPT or whatever it is.
00:53:45
Speaker
I didn't mean to cut you off.
00:53:45
Speaker
Show me your thesis.
00:53:48
Speaker
No, I mean, essentially the only thing I like about it better is the artwork.
00:53:53
Speaker
I mean, I looked at the art package and I compared it to the other previous tiers.
00:53:57
Speaker
And I was like, the premium used to be my favorite art package.
00:54:00
Speaker
I was like, man, I really, I have a thing for orange.
00:54:02
Speaker
I really like orange.
00:54:04
Speaker
And so now this new one coming out, I'm like, there's more orange on this one.
00:54:07
Speaker
And the color is just, I like it better.
00:54:09
Speaker
But I mean, that's all it's got to offer me is just that this one looks different.
00:54:13
Speaker
I'm like, well, I don't care.
00:54:15
Speaker
I mean, I've got the game right here kind of thing.
00:54:17
Speaker
But if you want to go out and get you up game that looks different and has a little plaque on there that tells you this is number of 500 and makes you feel good.
00:54:26
Speaker
Do you know what's interesting?
00:54:27
Speaker
I just noticed is they also powder coated the hinges on the back box.
00:54:35
Speaker
I didn't notice that.
00:54:37
Speaker
There are a lot of them don't have that.
00:54:41
Speaker
Like even the L.E.s, they don't they're not powder coated.
00:54:45
Speaker
I don't know if that's a big deal.
00:54:46
Speaker
That's something I didn't catch.
00:54:50
Speaker
I like the iconic scene.
00:54:51
Speaker
Honestly, if I could just buy the Translite for this, I'd be super happy with that.
00:54:56
Speaker
This is by far my favorite looking art package.
00:55:02
Speaker
There are ways of getting a
00:55:05
Speaker
a printed back glass of whichever version you want.
00:55:09
Speaker
You typically have to go outside the U S for it, but you can find that.
00:55:13
Speaker
And that's the thing is that with this, especially since it's just aesthetics that have been changed, right?
00:55:18
Speaker
Everybody can get the powder coating done.
00:55:21
Speaker
There's no there's no restrictions anybody I'm guarantee you that people are probably powder coating at this color right now on their machine like I want that color and as far as the art goes if you know the right person and you can get easily photoshopped 30th anniversary I mean I mean people can do this aesthetically wise and that's all is being changed yeah honestly I'm kind of with you carry I'd rather have the pro mm-hmm
00:55:48
Speaker
I love the premium.
00:55:50
Speaker
The premium LE playfield.
00:55:54
Speaker
I'm also a sucker for the art blades.
00:55:56
Speaker
They did a good job on the art blades.
00:56:00
Speaker
I shouldn't be superficial enough to say that that was part of my decision on getting the LEs because I like the art blades inside that were exclusive to the LE.
00:56:13
Speaker
I thought that was nice, but...
00:56:17
Speaker
I'm glad there are going to be more people who experienced this game in the best version available.
00:56:26
Speaker
Here's a, I don't know, this might be a make or break for me and a lot of other people, but I'm seeing a signature on that left portion of the apron.
00:56:33
Speaker
Is that Keith's or is that the new CEOs?
00:56:38
Speaker
You know better than me.
00:56:39
Speaker
No, you can see Keith's looks like a drunk, a drunk W. Yeah.
00:56:45
Speaker
Scott knows because when Keith signed his chest, he went and got it tattooed.
00:56:50
Speaker
It was my butt cheek.
00:56:52
Speaker
So yeah, I forgot.
00:56:54
Speaker
You want left cheek or right cheek?
00:56:55
Speaker
How about right in the middle?
00:56:59
Speaker
How do you feel about a signature tramp stamp?
00:57:01
Speaker
Why does it say all aboard?
00:57:13
Speaker
I think it's unfortunate that this came shortly after Venom was released because I think the Venom didn't get enough oxygen to really fuel the fire.
00:57:24
Speaker
Now it could be a slow burn.
00:57:26
Speaker
Once people start playing it, it could circle around, but people are talking about this and asking about this one.
00:57:34
Speaker
And I talked to my, to my neighbor, who's a very small local distributor and
00:57:40
Speaker
And when Venom came out, he's like, I haven't had one call.
00:57:44
Speaker
And I asked him about this one.
00:57:46
Speaker
He's like, I'm sold out.
00:57:48
Speaker
Like I already have my small allotment already, already spoken for.
00:57:52
Speaker
And I think you're right.
00:57:53
Speaker
It's, it's, it's just like bond, right?
00:57:55
Speaker
We called this when bond came out.
00:57:57
Speaker
It's going to be a slow burn and people, now that they're getting that new code and they're getting their hands on the new code, people are really enjoying the bond and buying it.
00:58:07
Speaker
they've pushed it back and pushed it back.
00:58:09
Speaker
Now it's in 2024, late 2024.
00:58:13
Speaker
But there's actually a small demand for Bond right now where there wasn't four months ago or three months ago.
00:58:21
Speaker
So I wonder if Venom is a similar situation where after Expo and after Christmas.
00:58:28
Speaker
The key though, I wonder if there's going to be enough people being able to play it to develop a...
00:58:35
Speaker
You know, when you're starting a fire, you use kindling, right?
00:58:39
Speaker
To start that ignition source so you can develop the good coals.
00:58:44
Speaker
I don't know if there's going to be enough of these on location to really experience it.
00:58:49
Speaker
Well, that's a problem too.
00:58:50
Speaker
I mean, Stern's moving here in a couple of weeks and they said they're not going to start building these till after the move.
00:58:56
Speaker
So that's even more time off the table.
00:58:59
Speaker
where they're shipping Jurassic Park today.
00:59:03
Speaker
You can get your hands on an Ellie by the end of the week.
00:59:06
Speaker
Well, May next week.
00:59:08
Speaker
But still, I mean, that really, that really helps, helps the case of Jurassic Park versus Venom as well.
00:59:16
Speaker
I mean, it's one of those things, if you get this Jurassic Park 30th, I mean, you already know that you're getting a good game.
00:59:22
Speaker
Because it's already been well established by the people in the hobby and pinball enthusiasts, including myself, that Jurassic Park is a damn good game.
00:59:31
Speaker
And if you just want a particular special version of it, all right, then you've got one now.
00:59:39
Speaker
But anybody with some money can make it look just like it.
00:59:47
Speaker
They got a real close up picture of their special plaque, too.
00:59:52
Speaker
I can make another one of those.
00:59:54
Speaker
So, oh, by the way, did you remember the insider connected tattoo someone had?
01:00:01
Speaker
Hey, yeah, I copied that out.
01:00:09
Speaker
Okay, so you guys both, Kerry, you own a pro.
01:00:12
Speaker
Josh, you owned a pro.
01:00:16
Speaker
You saw this game.
01:00:17
Speaker
Was there anything that made you want to buy it?
01:00:21
Speaker
Buy the LE that came out today?
01:00:25
Speaker
I would like to own it, but I just not for 13,000.
01:00:30
Speaker
That's where we're at.
01:00:31
Speaker
It's like, uh, I have, I'd rather have two pros for the price of an alley.
01:00:37
Speaker
So that's where I'm at.
Personal Views on Jurassic Park LE
01:00:40
Speaker
I'm like, yeah, it's, it's pretty.
01:00:42
Speaker
I know it's a good game, but just that I'm not giving you $13,000 for it.
01:00:46
Speaker
However, I have said this before is I need to constantly remind myself that I'm not the entire demographic that buys games.
01:00:58
Speaker
So I would say I'm probably in the solid pro, sometimes LE collector market, but there are those collectors out there who they will buy every LE out there.
01:01:12
Speaker
And so I'm wondering if those, like, I think there will be people who will upgrade from their premium to this.
01:01:19
Speaker
I wonder if anyone's going to upgrade their LE to this LE.
01:01:25
Speaker
Because they, like you said, their LE, their old one, they could probably get easily trade in value for what this thing is.
01:01:32
Speaker
Yeah, you could probably get equal value.
01:01:36
Speaker
Well, I want to pivot really quickly.
01:01:39
Speaker
I don't know how well you guys can see me.
01:01:42
Speaker
But I got a birthday.
01:01:43
Speaker
Can you put your shirt back on?
01:01:47
Speaker
I got a birthday present.
01:01:48
Speaker
My birthday was a couple weeks ago.
01:01:49
Speaker
And them knowing that I enjoy.
01:01:53
Speaker
I'm not going to say who it was.
01:01:53
Speaker
Because I don't want them to feel bad.
01:02:02
Speaker
It's from Hobby Lobby.
01:02:07
Speaker
And they did not have anything pinball related.
01:02:08
Speaker
They had arcade signs.
01:02:11
Speaker
I was waiting for my new tires to get put on my car.
01:02:13
Speaker
I was like, I'll go to Hobby Lobby and I didn't see anything pinball related.
01:02:16
Speaker
This thing drives me nuts.
01:02:18
Speaker
Well, let me turn it right away.
01:02:20
Speaker
Because the slippers are... Okay, you've got flippers on your slings.
01:02:27
Speaker
Look at look at this.
01:02:28
Speaker
So you plunge the ball and it goes directly into this.
01:02:32
Speaker
So that means it's just going to.
01:02:34
Speaker
It's obviously designed by someone who does not play pinball.
01:02:38
Speaker
However, I'm going to break it to you.
01:02:41
Speaker
This was actually one of J-Pop's unreleased play fields.
01:02:47
Speaker
I remember seeing this.
01:02:48
Speaker
This was fire and brimstone.
01:02:51
Speaker
I was wondering why it looks so familiar.
01:02:52
Speaker
That's what he was working on at Deep Root.
01:02:54
Speaker
They must have sold it.
01:02:56
Speaker
And you gotta, you know, obviously you gotta put pinball wizard in.
01:03:01
Speaker
By the way, that is all wizard up here.
01:03:05
Speaker
That is fantastic.
01:03:07
Speaker
There are so many things I love about this just because it is wildly the, it is by far the worst pinball layout I've ever seen.
01:03:20
Speaker
It may, it makes spinal tap look like game of the year.
01:03:24
Speaker
Does that sign also go to 11?
01:03:27
Speaker
Yeah, it does actually.
01:03:30
Speaker
It's just so weird.
01:03:34
Speaker
Like the drop targets, I'm assuming these are stand-ups or something.
01:03:37
Speaker
They look like little buttons and you got to put arrows pointing directly at your hit here.
01:03:45
Speaker
I see it and I'm just like...
01:03:47
Speaker
they're like do you love it and i'm like yes okay yeah you need to embrace the awesomely like the awesomely non-pinballness of it you gotta love to so there's a flipper up here by wizard but it's got like this little stick coming out the bottom of it so it looks like a corn dog more than it does a flipper yeah i think it was just an effect for like the
01:04:14
Speaker
the bong off the rubber but i'm not trying to defend that sign whatsoever but like like it's it's one of those where it looks like someone took a bunch of clip art yeah knows what a pinball machine has in it but doesn't know anything about physics and put it all together yeah so if you're listening to this on the podcast you're gonna have to join us on youtube for like just yeah this portion of the conversation yeah but i
01:04:37
Speaker
Don't get me wrong.
01:04:38
Speaker
I'll hang it on the wall.
01:04:39
Speaker
I definitely will.
01:04:39
Speaker
But it just, it makes me chuckle.
01:04:41
Speaker
Cause it was just like, first thing I saw was like, I'm plunging right into a wall.
01:04:45
Speaker
That's going to send it right down the outlet.
01:04:47
Speaker
Like there's, well, if you look at the layout too, there is no way to save it from the outlanes.
01:04:53
Speaker
It actually funnels to the outlanes.
01:04:56
Speaker
I don't even know if there's a way to get it in like straight down the middle.
01:05:00
Speaker
Is there even a pathway to get it to hit the slings?
01:05:04
Speaker
Not with that big old pop bumper right there.
01:05:06
Speaker
I actually don't see the only pathway I see between the right out lane.
01:05:12
Speaker
And if you possibly hit it like that one way gates on some games, like on fathom and you can actually get it in, then you could probably play something.
01:05:23
Speaker
So, yeah, it's, it's,
01:05:26
Speaker
I think in order to play that game, you have to have skill on the initial plunge to get it to where that, that would be definitely a skill shot.
01:05:35
Speaker
So like, I'm playing the game.
01:05:37
Speaker
I got hit to the flippers.
01:05:41
Speaker
I have figured out where they got this though.
01:05:44
Speaker
Like, have you ever ordered anything from wish.com where you get your picture and like, yeah, that looks awesome.
01:05:53
Speaker
And then they send it to you.
01:05:54
Speaker
This is not what I ordered.
01:05:56
Speaker
This looks like bailing wire and the hot glue gun.
01:06:03
Speaker
To get that ball into play, it's basically the missile shot on Jurassic Park.
01:06:08
Speaker
You get one out of 10 times.
01:06:17
Speaker
This is like Steve Ritchie's Star Wars.
01:06:23
Speaker
This is a downgrade from that one.
01:06:29
Speaker
Well, I think that pretty much covers it.
01:06:32
Speaker
I feel like there's really not much to talk about with Jurassic Park 30th.
01:06:36
Speaker
It's $13,000 and it's got a new art package.
01:06:40
Speaker
If you like the cosmetics and you're an LE buyer, go nuts.
01:06:45
Speaker
It's a great option.
01:06:48
Speaker
I feel like when they do the press release tomorrow, it's got a bunch of new features and everything involving the code.
01:06:53
Speaker
I'll be sure to reach out to you, Scott, and get your take on it.
01:06:56
Speaker
Yeah, I only let you know.
01:07:01
Speaker
There's a group just for Scott on Pinside now.
01:07:05
Speaker
disgruntled le exactly it's like i'm starting to wonder though when it comes to stern if the word limited actually means anything to them and if the word exclusive actually means anything to them well i mean yeah well that was kind of the joke right yeah exclusive topper for bond 60 exclusive doesn't mean exclusive it means included let me google this real quick exclusive i'm pretty sure i'm
01:07:30
Speaker
I'm going to buy you a thesaurus.
01:07:32
Speaker
Merriam-Webster is sending this to you.
01:07:35
Speaker
Exclusive means exclusive.
01:07:38
Speaker
That's funny because my wife brought home the seasoning.
01:07:41
Speaker
It's called savory umami.
01:07:42
Speaker
And if you don't know what umami means, it means savory.
01:07:51
Speaker
A little redundant.
01:07:52
Speaker
What language is that?
01:07:58
Speaker
Umami is by some Japanese.
01:07:59
Speaker
I've heard people putting it on certain things that I watch certain food stuff.
01:08:04
Speaker
And I'm like, okay.
01:08:05
Speaker
Yeah, it seems to be the new hot word in food shows because there's the six different types of flavor, you know?
01:08:13
Speaker
Yeah, the first time I heard it, they're like, oh, put some umami.
01:08:17
Speaker
Yeah, I've never seen it in person.
01:08:20
Speaker
I had to Google it too.
01:08:22
Speaker
Yeah, I just pulled up the Wikipedia on it.
01:08:25
Speaker
Well, I typed in umami and I got something completely different.
01:08:31
Speaker
You ordered the wrong one.
01:08:32
Speaker
You need to add maybe the right one.
01:08:34
Speaker
You need to add the same filters.
01:08:36
Speaker
I should have put it on incognito mode before I Googled that one.
01:08:42
Speaker
I have to look at my history and what is this?
01:08:48
Speaker
I was looking for savory food.
01:08:49
Speaker
I Googled umami for the articles.
01:08:52
Speaker
I was making you dinner, honey.
01:08:54
Speaker
This is what I was making.
01:09:00
Speaker
Well, good news, Josh.
01:09:02
Speaker
So actually, Josh is the only one on the program who is not wearing a loser cat.
01:09:08
Speaker
See, I'm wearing the OG hat.
01:09:10
Speaker
Carrie's wearing the 2.0 hat.
01:09:13
Speaker
But I've been flashing my mug.
01:09:15
Speaker
That was another birthday present for my wife.
01:09:18
Speaker
She's like, you guys should sell these.
01:09:19
Speaker
And I was like, maybe.
01:09:22
Speaker
I do love this hat.
01:09:23
Speaker
People are always like, why are you always wearing the hat?
01:09:25
Speaker
Because it's comfortable.
01:09:31
Speaker
I'm going to hit Josh up after we get off, but we actually have a 3.0 version coming out.
01:09:38
Speaker
We actually have four different versions of it, so we might have to narrow it down.
01:09:43
Speaker
Yeah, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4.
01:09:49
Speaker
You covered an expo, Kerry?
01:09:51
Speaker
Yeah, I'm all set for expo.
01:09:52
Speaker
I'll be involved in even a seminar on that.
01:09:55
Speaker
I don't know when or what it's going to be about, but I've been invited to do that.
01:10:02
Speaker
Well, I'll see you there.
01:10:02
Speaker
I know Scott is not going to be there.
01:10:05
Speaker
Yeah, I couldn't get off.
01:10:08
Speaker
I'm glad you ended up with stupid work.
01:10:10
Speaker
Yeah, they'd also... It took everything I had, and I'm just like...
01:10:14
Speaker
It would look super sketch if I'm like, yeah, I'm calling in sick.
01:10:26
Speaker
I will be gone for the next five days.
01:10:33
Speaker
If you want people to get a hold of you, Kerry, where is it best for them to get a hold of you at?
01:10:37
Speaker
My content's available on YouTube.
01:10:39
Speaker
You can usually type in pinball in the search or Kerry Hardy in the search, and you should be able to find me that way.
01:10:47
Speaker
I guess I've grown up enough popularity to where I actually show up on one of your top searches for pinball.
01:10:51
Speaker
So I guess that's cool to an extent.
01:10:57
Speaker
It's one of those things where I was curious one day.
01:10:59
Speaker
I'm like, I'm curious.
01:11:00
Speaker
Everybody's Googled themselves at one point, and sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
01:11:05
Speaker
You never know what you're going to get.
01:11:06
Speaker
But yeah, my content's available on YouTube.
01:11:09
Speaker
I talk and do everything pinball.
01:11:10
Speaker
As I state, it's, like I said, anything.
01:11:13
Speaker
It varies from restoration to current topics that are going on in the industry and the hobby in general and stuff.
01:11:20
Speaker
So by all means, check me out if you haven't already.
01:11:24
Speaker
Check out his American pinball skit on Galactic Tank Force.
01:11:29
Speaker
If you want to get a hold of us, we are LoserKidPinball at gmail.com.
01:11:33
Speaker
If you're looking for us on the socials, we are at LoserKidPinball on Facebook, Instagram, X. Is that what they're calling it?
01:11:40
Speaker
The kids are calling it nowadays.
Social Media Presence and Merchandise Promotion
01:11:44
Speaker
But I heard that he had a hard time.
01:11:46
Speaker
He could, you know, how it's like X. Never mind.
01:11:49
Speaker
I'm going to kill the joke.
01:11:52
Speaker
So X and Twitch, YouTube, it's at LoserKid Pinball and everything.
01:11:58
Speaker
We even have TikTok, even though I've not done a single video.
01:12:01
Speaker
I'm going to have to hit up Jen Rupert because she is the TikTok queen.
01:12:04
Speaker
Someone has to figure out how to do it.
01:12:06
Speaker
And so also don't forget SilverBallSwag.com slash LoserKid.
01:12:11
Speaker
You can get our stuff there.
01:12:15
Speaker
What did we just add?
01:12:16
Speaker
We added something.
01:12:17
Speaker
You get new beer glasses.
01:12:20
Speaker
It's got LoserKid logo on one side and then the goat on the other.
01:12:24
Speaker
So if you want, I think they come in a pack of four, but you'll have to double check.
01:12:28
Speaker
But yeah, it seems like we're always adding stuff to our store on there.
01:12:32
Speaker
So we also have a link tree.
01:12:33
Speaker
So if you want to hit that, it'll give you
01:12:36
Speaker
everything that I just explained.
01:12:38
Speaker
Anything else you got, you got anything else for us, Scott?
01:12:41
Speaker
I am bummed that I'm not going to expo, but I really want to know who's buying this and why you're buying it.
01:12:46
Speaker
So reach out, let us know.
01:12:49
Speaker
We'll see you in a couple of weeks.
01:12:51
Speaker
I appreciate you having me on here.
01:12:52
Speaker
It's been a pleasure.
