Cokeley Brothers: to bring you some quality wrestling coverage. quality wrestling content. right before, right on the eve, on the cusp. of Senior Worlds. in in the year of our Lord, 2026.

Cokeley Brothers: Ryan Reese, welcome to the show. How are we feeling today?

Ryne: Good. Good.

Reese: Superb

Ryne: Good excellent

Cokeley Brothers: Are you awake are you alive are you ready to talk about some wrestling?

Ryne: action.

Reese: I didn't even know that yesterday.

Ryne: awake. mm -hmm

Reese: I didn't even know yesterday was the start to the to the tournament. to the World Tournament, so...

Ryne: Oh, for Greco.

Cokeley Brothers: um I'm gonna...

Reese: Obviously I'm unprepared.

Cokeley Brothers: I'm gonna chalk that up to We just don't have it in Greco right now. Um... I don't want to talk about it. If I'm being frank.

Ryne: Dude, we haven't we haven't we haven't had it since 2015. I'm gonna be straight up with you guys

Reese: What? Well, I mean, what we had... Two medals in 2015?

Ryne: I think we just had one.

Cokeley Brothers: We had a middle and a half.

Ryne: Yeah, Robbie, we should have had two.

Reese: Yeah, just just Robbie

Ryne: No, robby robbie got Robbie got beat for for bronze.

Reese: Oh, he didn't have a medal. Then he end up getting a medal though later

Ryne: Bye -sick.

Cokeley Brothers: That's why I said and a half.

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: No.

Ryne: Robbie should have beat that Russian, in though.

Reese: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: No.

Reese: Knack of.

Cokeley Brothers: And then the guy ended up popping. so

Ryne: That's not who popped though

Cokeley Brothers: I thought it was. Am I stupid?

Reese: He definitely popped

Ryne: No. It wasn't him who popped.

Cokeley Brothers: Was it this? Was it the silver and then the bronze got moved up and so he got moved up?

Reese: Bilal Makov, definitely not.

Ryne: Mhm. Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. No.

Ryne: I'm almost...

Cokeley Brothers: My mistake.

Reese: I'm pretty sure Makov popped.

Ryne: um'm I don't think he did, dude, because he... think he should I don't think so. I don't think he did. We look it up.

Cokeley Brothers: I got you 2015 Greco World Wrestling Championships. Wikipedia You've never failed me. 130 kilograms of Greco -Roman. It was already pulled up.

Cokeley Brothers: which is always interesting to see. Um... Makav. Below mock -up Russia. originally won the bronze medal, but was disqualified in 2025 due to doping offenses.

Ryne: oh Okay. How's John?

Cokeley Brothers: Robbie Smith was raised to third and took the bronze medal. Rhine!

Ryne: My bad.

Cokeley Brothers: Bye. rm

Ryne: So he got he got so he double medaled that year and now he has no medals from that year

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, double metal, double dosed, double doped. Double dipped, double failed. Okay, let's talk about...

Ryne: Sad.

Reese: Bye.

Ryne: Sad. Packers just scored a touchdown.

Cokeley Brothers: Something...

Ryne: Packers just scored a touchdown. They're up 14 -10 now.

Cokeley Brothers: Let's talk about something from this decade. Let's talk about something that happened.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: Not too long ago.

Reese: You don't talk about 2015 like that

Cokeley Brothers: Let's briefly... let's briefly Let's briefly touch on U23 Worlds.

Ryne: all Alright.

Cokeley Brothers: And and how it. capped off the age group world championships trio. uh in a way that that we started started things with you 17th which was ah poor performance, but...

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know if it's like that unexpected. at least from my

Ryne: Dude, we know hey listen when we're at home on our home home soil, we got to perform better than that.

Cokeley Brothers: Mm hmm. I don't know if where the location has that much stock. I do it like... all agree that

Ryne: You don't got to travel overseas.

Cokeley Brothers: Dead.

Ryne: That's that's a major advantage. not Not having to...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, but it's not good it's it's not going to help Jordan Williams beat... Guy Darley or anything like that.

Ryne: No, no, but I mean... We got to have better, I mean. Bo Bassett.

Cokeley Brothers: Well, yeah, yeah When I.

Ryne: ah and and and go Actually, let me take that back, because I'm going to give Bo Bassett the benefit of the doubt with... with Peaking and stuff like that like Man. I hope he wasn't peaking for you 23s. I want him peaking next week.

Ryne: Um, But Aiden Sinclair.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: That Moldovan is tough.

Ryne: I'm not saying he's not, but Aiden Sinclair, shouldn' he he's better than that guy.

Cokeley Brothers: I think he can beat him for sure.

Ryne: he's He's beaten guys better than that.

Cokeley Brothers: um

Cokeley Brothers: Maybe.

Ryne: Yep. Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: Psycho Dinov, pretty tough, yeah. but um I want to... I just wanted to kind of generalize it a little bit because I think you can look at some of the individual results and... And. pick some things out, but also explain some things away.

Cokeley Brothers: Luke Lillidal is the only one that I really am like, I don't have anything for you. Um, But the rest of them...

Ryne: Yeah, I don't have anything for him either. Oh, I do actually but that's I'm not gonna Never mind. I do have a theory on Luke Liddell.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Bye.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. um i I just want to say, like, U23 Worlds, we've never... I guess there there have been two, I think two or three years in the past where we've won it as a team and we've put together like a very solid.

Cokeley Brothers: team last year was an example of that Uh... But generally, we never really put our best foot forward. And. The guys that go... They're not really like... They don't treat it like it's like.

Cokeley Brothers: this. this massive thing. U17s and U20s and senior worlds, I think all... I'll get this. Built up. sit process and build up situation and U23s kind of feels like a consolation prize. whenever you think about it, like, it's like,

Cokeley Brothers: Oh, you didn't make the senior world team, but hey, you can go wrestle U23s. um And that I think that's reflected in our process. i think that and that also gets reflected in our results is that like it's not this thing that we we put a lot of gravity and weight behind and and the people's reaction of like this was a this was a a massive disappointing letdown performance.

Cokeley Brothers: from our team, sure, but I think it was. I think it was unwise to expect anything else. from a general perspective. If you want to look at the individual results, yeah, you can you can talk about some things.

Cokeley Brothers: um But that's what I see. It really all started with Seth Shumate. ah injuring. getting injured.

Ryne: Yeah, that was...

Cokeley Brothers: We were rolling before that.

Ryne: that was a Sorry, that was a bummer That was a major bummer.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Yeah. Does he look good?

Ryne: Um...

Cokeley Brothers: I hope he gets healthy for the season.

Ryne: and honestly And if you want, you can even take it back.

Cokeley Brothers: which

Ryne: ah a step further and and say, started with Maddie Singleton. having to pull out late.

Cokeley Brothers: Getting injured.

Ryne: Mm -hmm

Cokeley Brothers: yeah

Ryne: You know, and then we're...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, people people were like...

Ryne: and we

Cokeley Brothers: Joe Seeley's ass.

Ryne: Send.

Cokeley Brothers: I'm like, This is a guy who's supposed to be wrestling 157, and he's wrestling 79 kilos, which is 174 pounds.

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Shut up.

Ryne: Yeah, I mean we all knew he was gonna be undersized but I Short, short. time like that or short notice like that, like. What are you gonna do? You know what I mean?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, like you can't you can't get it. I think you could have like... Mitchell Mezenbrink probably could have done it. Probably could have gone, but he didn't do anything this summer. ah like Joe Seeley at least wrestled this summer so like you can you can justify that.

Ryne: Yeah. Yeah

Cokeley Brothers: Um...

Ryne: Well, I'm

Cokeley Brothers: but yeah we

Ryne: I'm thinking Joe wasn't even their first pick. I'm sure they tried to find somebody who was like an actual 79 kilo guy.

Cokeley Brothers: Maybe.

Ryne: And it was like, this This late in the game. You want me to make weight? And it's like, you're probably going to have to find somebody that's a little undersized.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, right.

Ryne: and

Cokeley Brothers: Right. Which is like, why?

Ryne: Cheers. Joe Seeley's a...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Joe Seeley's an age -level world champ. Like, he's he's got the chops, but... He's undersized, so.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: It's not

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, mean even he he had a...

Ryne: It's hard to expect a lot.

Cokeley Brothers: He had a win over David Carter this summer too, right?

Ryne: Yes, he did.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I mean he's He's tough. He's just not 79 kilos

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Maurice, any thoughts about U23s before we move on from it?

Reese: and No, I think you guys pretty much covered all of my thoughts. i was kind of shocked. I think the Bobazit loss was like that. It was just some... you wrestle that match.

Reese: Nine more times and he probably wins all nine.

Ryne: Yes.

Reese: of those matches So.

Ryne: i think bo I think if Bo's not on the senior team, he wins the tournament. You know what I mean?

Cokeley Brothers: Dude, probably. I mean, the Iranian that that won his weight

Reese: You should have won it either way.

Cokeley Brothers: Did a third at 61 in your 20s?

Ryne: Yeah, I don't...

Cokeley Brothers: Lost to Aaron Seidel.

Ryne: Reese, it's hard to... It's hard... Dude, it's... It's not like these countries aren't sending out slapdicks anymore like they used to when it was just the university tournament. you know

Reese: Yeah, but he controlled that match And. um Should have won that match.

Ryne: I'm not saying anything.

Cokeley Brothers: The referees kind of let let the... let the Indian wrestler you know.

Reese: you just don't just step out just step out and

Cokeley Brothers: get away with a bit more.

Ryne: Not if you ask.

Cokeley Brothers: Yes.

Reese: You're winning that match.

Ryne: Yeah Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Yes, yes.

Ryne: you why Why did you try to scramble in that situation? You gave up four. That was a little.

Reese: Yeah

Ryne: low IQ. for Bo, but...

Cokeley Brothers: Okay, Senior Worlds. You guys want to move on to that?

Ryne: We can.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay, men's freestyle, if I can pull up. the schedule they used to have the schedule on here there it is ah Greco is going on right now, as we discussed. ah Right after that will be women's freestyle. As a matter of fact, I want to say that women's freestyle...

Cokeley Brothers: starts tomorrow with the last weights of Greco -Roman. So today is the 25th. Tomorrow we will see qualification rounds for Greco. Just three weights. Okay, so now women's wrestling starts on Tuesday.

Cokeley Brothers: And then men's freestyle.

Ryne: starts thursday

Cokeley Brothers: is on Thursday.

Ryne: Hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: We will see 65. through 97 kilograms or just 65 and 96 yeah 65 and 97 kilograms rustle Um, Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. Uh.

Cokeley Brothers: Let's get into some of the weight breakdowns. ah for Thursday's competition. Well, actually so we can go... from just bottom to top. in weight order, but wrestling will start. on Thursday.

Cokeley Brothers: 57 kilograms. Our rep is... Spencer Lee. He is. I believe going to be the second seed. I'm trying to pull up the event right now.

Cokeley Brothers: Um... the top seed if i can remember correctly is going to be... Can't think of his name right now. ah Oh.

Cokeley Brothers: returning world champ Changsung Hong from Korea. ah Two seed Spencer Lee, three seed. Islam Bazarganov from Azerbaijan. And then moving down from there, it's RBY. For Mexico, Dinkashvili for Georgia, Darian Cruz for Puerto Rico.

Cokeley Brothers: And then Vladimir Igorov from Macedonia and Aryan Syrian. Yeah, that's how I'm going to say his last name from Belarus. That rounds out your top eight seeds. A couple other...

Cokeley Brothers: tough wrestlers. ah that are not going to be in the top eight seed. Um, but really nobody Nobody stands out.

Cokeley Brothers: across competition throughout this year The most being Spencer Lee, but of course he lost to Luke Lillardal. and Luke did not. you know look as best at u23 so you can kind of Make some estimations from there.

Cokeley Brothers: um

Cokeley Brothers: I think the question that I have when I look at this... List of wrestlers is... Who poses the biggest threat in your mind? to Spencer Lee.

Ryne: on on his side or overall?

Cokeley Brothers: Overall, I mean, yeah, he's going to have. He's going to have Bazarganov. and Cruz and Agorov on his side from the sea pool. so

Ryne: i'm honestly just glad and he's not on the same side as rby because i think rby poses the biggest threat to Spencer Lee.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. I'm at least I'm pretty sure I'm reading... the way that these

Ryne: No, I've read them the same way.

Cokeley Brothers: Peace. Okay.

Ryne: I read them the same way.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: um

Cokeley Brothers: ah Go ahead.

Ryne: Yeah, I just... I mean if I RBY is going to have it. tough outing with the dude from korea he's that guy's strong But if Harvey White's healthy, I mean, he just keeps getting better, too.

Ryne: I do.

Cokeley Brothers: Mm.

Ryne: I think at some point he's going to. pose the biggest threat. to them spencer so

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah? Yeah, I think if he stays healthy. Um, Has that weight under control and can manage to make the files? beating the Korean.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, that can that can start to be a problem for him. for Spencer Lee, RBY Cam.

Ryne: and

Cokeley Brothers: Uh... My question is why isn't Aman at this? Wait, do we know why?

Ryne: Who?

Cokeley Brothers: India, I'm on, I'm on.

Ryne: Oh, Amon Amon.

Ryne: I don't.

Cokeley Brothers: I can't I'm not sure why. I felt like I heard something but I can't remember if... That's the case. I don't know Um, But yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: That would have been another interesting recall.

Ryne: And her... Haru Tinian's up at 61. Is that correct?

Cokeley Brothers: Yes.

Ryne: okay

Cokeley Brothers: Yep. Yeah Um.

Cokeley Brothers: I guess in terms of a prediction... I don't, I don't. I don't feel like it makes sense to see... anybody beating spencer lee it's obviously possible we saw it happen last year with with Artunian.

Cokeley Brothers: um

Ryne: Well, it's a game plan.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know

Ryne: It's a game plan.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Upper body stuff. That seems to be Spencer's weakness.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I think there's there's that element of... of Throwing him throwing him off his game mentally which happens early on in the match and that's where things can start to spiral and get a control but but doing that is so much easier said than done

Ryne: Mm -hmm.

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Um,

Cokeley Brothers: And so we'll see. We'll see. I don't think that Spencer looks impervious. I don't think this is. necessarily the best version we've ever seen of him, but he still looks great.

Cokeley Brothers: And... I mean, if he wins a world title and depending on the fashion that he does it in. then we can start to make some more accurate estimations from there. Because but outside of his matches against Luke Lillard, he hasn't really had...

Cokeley Brothers: the most competition this year. So.

Ryne: What?

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Yeah. He's been overseas, right? He's wanting a couple of... overseas tournaments

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, so let me pull up his... UWW profile and we can look at some of his results. But I want to say the guys that he wrestled weren't... anything yeah like He teched his way through the Mohamed Malo tournament.

Ryne: Oh, okay. Thank you, Shane.

Cokeley Brothers: and to guess the best guy he wrestled was dingus really Detect them 15 to 4. I may wrestle with the Zagreb open. And he had Toskayev.

Cokeley Brothers: and Sasaki. I guess to Sky, I've kept it to a 4 -0 match. but And then he had RBY in the finals, and that, we know, resulted in an injury. so those two events just like didn't have any.

Cokeley Brothers: major notable results, I guess.

Ryne: Gotcha. Gotcha. I see what you're saying now. I do, seriously.

Cokeley Brothers: Mm hmm. Reese, any thoughts before we move on to 61?

Reese: No with Spencer, I mean it's hard to predict It's hard to predict reliably anything other than like him making the finals.

Reese: you know. I feel like. He should make the finals, and if he doesn't... It's some kind of freak. loss.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Reese: That's kind of what I think like some similar to last year

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Reese: Was that last year where I hard -turned your tectum?

Ryne: mm -hmm

Cokeley Brothers: Yes. It was last year. Okay. um 61 kilograms. returning world champ. uh, goo of having like a like a so like a second, like a renaissance in his in his capabilities and his accomplishments. Because, he you know, he...

Cokeley Brothers: had solid a solid resume leading up to 2021 olympics and then Between 2021 and 2024, nothing really happened. And then last year he won a world title and he's looked... Very solid. this entire year.

Cokeley Brothers: And he looks like the guy to beat at 61 kilograms and and there's there's a couple of names in here you have the Iranian at the two -seat, Novruzov at the three -seat, Abakarov at four. And...

Cokeley Brothers: A couple of non -seeded individuals, Hartunian. ah The United States, Marcus Blaze. um and gulam john abdullaev who's been at 57 kilograms for a fair amount of time But.

Cokeley Brothers: up to 61.

Cokeley Brothers: Might might be able to make some noise And I want to say this. representative from Kyrgyzstan. This is the one that Jax Forrest wrestled at U23 Worlds last year and had a 17 -14 match with. So this guy...

Cokeley Brothers: Uh... is explosive in his wrestling. So. Might keep an eye on him as well.

Cokeley Brothers: Now... With this field, Caleb Smith in here as well.

Reese: What? Where are you guys finding these precedes?

Ryne: I'm not even looking at them.

Cokeley Brothers: ah These are on the senior, the UWW. Love, Ben. Page.

Reese: Yeah, why can't I find him?

Cokeley Brothers: If you go to athletes.

Reese: Oh, okay. They have them seated.

Cokeley Brothers: And then it just has them listed and then on the left side it'll say ts1 ts2 ts3

Reese: Okay. okay I got it

Cokeley Brothers: It's new they've they've revamped their um They've revamped their site.

Ryne: The arena they're getting rid of their arena The arena, right?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, they retired it.

Ryne: got it

Cokeley Brothers: Um.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know if I... if I could confidently say That someone in this bracket will upset. The Russian. a goodev But...

Cokeley Brothers: But Hartunian absolutely has the capability of doing it. And Marcus Blaze, I think, can keep himself in a lot of matches. but I think he's going to struggle with some of the... offense that that foreign wrestlers can produce. and how that will force him to...

Cokeley Brothers: go against what he does, which is this positional fundamental. lockdown headhands defense. And if he if he has to open that up. it still doesn't really... We've seen it in the past. It it hasn't afforded him the most offense that that you need.

Cokeley Brothers: so I don't... see anybody... being able to be. Zalur.

Ryne: Marcus Blaze can do it.

Cokeley Brothers: ah Blaze could.

Reese: For sure.

Cokeley Brothers: Please could. Hartunian could, I just, I'm not... i'm not I'm not predicting it.

Ryne: I don't think Hartunian can.

Reese: Yeah, I give Blaze a better chance than Hartunian.

Ryne: I like ah because because it blazes like length. I like blaze.

Cokeley Brothers: Mm hmm.

Ryne: i think blaze will pose and and the man is just so difficult to take down

Cokeley Brothers: Mm hmm.

Ryne: I think.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Blaze.

Cokeley Brothers: Good.

Ryne: poses the biggest threat.

Cokeley Brothers: Iguov and Hartunian wrestled at the semis at yeah at Euros, and it was a 4 -3 match.

Ryne: okay

Reese: Four to four.

Cokeley Brothers: I think it's possible. 4 -3.

Ryne: For three.

Reese: Yeah, it's possible for sure. I think Blaze is a better i think blaze has a better chance.

Reese: To be you good

Cokeley Brothers: He could. I just... ah

Reese: yeah

Cokeley Brothers: Because I remember watching... Forrest Russell. if we have last year. And just... Unable. to two get any offense going.

Cokeley Brothers: And so I think Marcus Blaze might have the same type of struggle. or

Reese: Nah, I chucked that I would chalk that up to match up

Ryne: Yeah, but but Mark.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know

Ryne: Yeah, Marcus has like, his counter offense is better than Jack's. So if he can get Uguyev to... take sloppy shots then help.

Reese: And he doesn't make mistakes like Jax does.

Ryne: He'll counter better Huh? Exactly.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Yeah. And Jax is comfortable making mistakes because he knows he can put up points.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: no matter what so

Cokeley Brothers: So do you guys feel like...

Cokeley Brothers: Do you guys feel like Marcus Blades could win this weight?

Reese: Puff Show.

Ryne: I... Yeah. Yeah, we could. I don't know if I'm gonna... Picket

Cokeley Brothers: i don't know if I would either. He's really good at freestyle.

Ryne: Tell you what I didn't pick

Cokeley Brothers: He's really good at freestyle.

Ryne: I didn't pick Levi Haynes to do very well last year either, I'm pretty sure, and he did really well. So that's why I kind of want to pick Marcus to do well.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. yeah

Ryne: So. I'm going to say Marcus Metals. The color, I don't know.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: I'm going to go ahead and say that. I... Because I want to... I want to pick him to make the finals. He's not seated, right? So it's hard to kind of. It's hard to make that prediction.

Reese: How good is this Japanese?

Cokeley Brothers: Hmm.

Reese: wrestler.

Cokeley Brothers: ah toshi Toshihiro Hasegawa.

Reese: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't think he's too good. He took seventh at the Senior Asian Championships. Losing to...

Reese: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: Mohammad Nazar Javan. from Iran.

Reese: So not someone we really need to worry about.

Cokeley Brothers: And... I don't think so. I... i'm Not on my radar.

Reese: I like. I like places. odds here a lot. I think...

Cokeley Brothers: Thank you.

Reese: ah I think. I think I'll take them. to win. to get gold.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Breeze is picking gold.

Cokeley Brothers: ah We also have Xiao from China. who's been at 57 for a while, but is up at 61.

Cokeley Brothers: Could be a problem.

Reese: Maybe.

Cokeley Brothers: Could be a problem.

Ryne: it could be

Reese: When was the last, I mean, China, yo. What Chinese wrestler?

Ryne: Sorry, guys.

Reese: has ever been a true problem though.

Ryne: The heavyweight that beat Gable Steveson at U -20s one year.

Reese: Yeah. that's the only That's the one dang

Ryne: Dang, yes. Dang.

Reese: That's the only one.

Ryne: See if anyone would like it.

Cokeley Brothers: what

Ryne: The only one I can think of. Yeah, Gable Steveson, you know, went 0 -1 his last year at U20s and got beat by Deng from China.

Cokeley Brothers: didn't he get Didn't he get thrown to his back and pinned?

Reese: I think he might have fallen to his own back or...

Ryne: i don't be Sure. Sure, it doesn't matter.

Cokeley Brothers: But he got pinned, right?

Reese: He got through.

Ryne: He got beat by the Chinaman.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: All right.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know if it was a guy from China. I don't remember.

Reese: and I know they had a good heavyweight Chinese dude who'd beaten...

Ryne: I thought it was.

Cokeley Brothers: I feel like it was like a...

Reese: American wrestlers before.

Cokeley Brothers: right

Ryne: Was it not dang?

Cokeley Brothers: I knew them.

Ryne: I could have sworn it was dang.

Cokeley Brothers: need to look this up now. Deng, I think, was a world bronze medalist at seniors.

Reese: and

Reese: Yeah, I don't know if it was the same guy I don't know who beat Abel.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, you guys are thinking about Steve Sin losing in the quarterfinals to Uzbekistan's Kassanboy Rakimov.

Ryne: Okay.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: ah

Reese: He got pinned though, right?

Cokeley Brothers: who threw Steveson with double overhooks.

Ryne: Who did Dang beat?

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: Dang beat someone good from America once.

Cokeley Brothers: I think it was...

Reese: For the record.

Cokeley Brothers: a quiz.

Reese: Yeah. Yeah, it was.

Ryne: Was it Wes?

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: yeah

Reese: I think he might have beaten him multiple times.

Cokeley Brothers: coming out

Ryne: nice Nice sunshine. Thanks Sam. I'm blind.

Cokeley Brothers: Is that better?

Ryne: Ask my... Retinas? Corneas?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Yeah, tell me how they're doing. Okay. ah China. I don't know But I just know that Zhao gave Spencer Lee some issues and Spencer Lee's a good wrestler.

Cokeley Brothers: Maybe his results...

Reese: Yeah, but any did he give anybody else issues?

Cokeley Brothers: all right right right No. But maybe the cut's the problem. We also have Horst Lear from Germany who... It's had some interesting results at 57 kilograms. He's up at 61.

Reese: He good.

Cokeley Brothers: But yeah. I think... It's Russia. It's Iran. It's the United States. And... Armenia.

Cokeley Brothers: at this weight.

Cokeley Brothers: But give me, give me. Zavor Uguyev to win. That's my prediction. We'll go with the top seed. Great.

Ryne: oh do we have

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: I thought we decided it wasn't Yev.

Ryne: Who do you have to win it? Uguv.

Cokeley Brothers: I do have...

Reese: Well, listen here. same Maybe he used to say Agoyev.

Cokeley Brothers: yeah Yeah, I should say like you go yet or something, but it's I'm trying to be better

Reese: And, you know, some people. Some people still say... it People still say a goy of like I'm pretty sure CP calls him a goy of I think Kozak calls him a goyote.

Ryne: I won't give up. I don't care

Reese: so

Ryne: I don't care if I say it wrong.

Cokeley Brothers: i don't want to be like CP.

Ryne: I say people's names wrong all the time I don't care Hey.

Reese: I like, I like Aguaz, Aguaz.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: I'm 34 years old. People call me Ryan all the time. Doesn't bother me.

Cokeley Brothers: Somebody called you rain the other day. and within my circle.

Ryne: Rain?

Cokeley Brothers: I don't remember who it was.

Ryne: Rain?

Cokeley Brothers: Rain. Rain Coakley.

Ryne: Where the... did they get the a from when people when people do that shit i'm just like all right come on Now you're trying

Cokeley Brothers: i think it's like an accent thing like a dialect maybe i don't know

Ryne: Oh, that Bayou dialect?

Cokeley Brothers: It wasn't down here, I don't think.

Ryne: oh

Cokeley Brothers: I don't remember What do you guys think about 65 kilograms? talking about that a little bit.

Cokeley Brothers: Look, it's the most it's the second most interesting weight. this year's world championships. the I think the storyline that everybody...

Ryne: The second most, what's the most interesting weight?

Cokeley Brothers: 97 kilograms.

Ryne: Oh, okay. Yeah, that's fair. Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: and Sit down.

Ryne: Yeah, my bad.

Cokeley Brothers: Take the same sip.

Ryne: My bad.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: My bad.

Cokeley Brothers: Um...

Ryne: I... I honestly.

Reese: I refuse to say 97. is I could never acknowledge that.

Ryne: I really didn't think 97. i didn't I didn't think Sad July was going to come back. I'll be honest with you guys.

Cokeley Brothers: Dude, if you get the best version of... of Sadulaev. Kyle Snyder. Yazdani. and uh tazardinov

Ryne: Taz.

Cokeley Brothers: That's a – with Arash Ushida and – The guy... whose name I can't think of. from

Ryne: You do have four Olympic champs at the weight class.

Cokeley Brothers: That one country. Ait Moukan. It's... It's five five Olympic gold medals 11 world titles There's a lot going on there.

Reese: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: it's Very interesting.

Reese: It's true.

Cokeley Brothers: now

Reese: But it's 97.

Ryne: Sit down, Reese.

Cokeley Brothers: If you want to talk about the Raw, like watching the wrestling and actually being interested in the action of the matches. 65 kilograms. might have more

Reese: All day.

Ryne: Well 65 kilograms will be king.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: in that and that category forever. Forever.

Cokeley Brothers: I know. and it's It's the weight. It's what your – the body styles in that weight. can afford.

Ryne: who

Reese: It's the people ah Physique.

Cokeley Brothers: Excuse me.

Ryne: 65 to 74, 65 to 74, yes.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know about that.

Reese: It is bro you just watch just watch that

Ryne: 65 to 74. Yes.

Reese: Watch that moment of... Uh, you watch that Mamadav, um, freaking...

Ryne: um would even put so I would even say to 79.

Reese: I'm Muzad.

Cokeley Brothers: Amuzad.

Reese: bronze medal match From you know a few years back 2022 or whatever that was that that was

Cokeley Brothers: All right. Are you saying it's the peak male physique for wrestling?

Reese: yeah

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. That's right.

Ryne: 65 to 74.

Cokeley Brothers: That's fine.

Ryne: Yes. is the Or 79.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: 79. I lied. i add i I'm extending it.

Cokeley Brothers: It's about a 30 -pound range.

Ryne: Those are the...

Ryne: That's probably your, I mean, that's okay, right?

Reese: 79 is not... I disagree. After 74, 74 is the...

Ryne: You think so?

Reese: That's weird.

Ryne: It drops off.

Reese: That's the cutoff

Ryne: It drops off pretty hard.

Reese: I think so.

Ryne: Okay.

Ryne: I'm gonna...

Cokeley Brothers: All right, well, we've settled it. 65 to 74 kilograms is the peak male physique. If you're not in that range, get it together.

Ryne: Chubsters.

Cokeley Brothers: It has been... I can't remember what the statistic is. Nobody has won back -to -back world or Olympic titles. At 65 kilograms. I want to say since like...

Cokeley Brothers: It's the early 2000s. I want to say it's like 2005 or 2002, something like that.

Ryne: Who did it?

Cokeley Brothers: And. Amuzad. from Iran is poised to do it. However, If you were to, if you asked me. Is he going to do it? I don't feel good about saying yes.

Cokeley Brothers: That's simply because... I don't feel good about so about predicting. the champ of this weight. If you had to give me – if you said give me an individual who is the most likely to do it, I would say it's Amozad.

Cokeley Brothers: He's had two. Very close matches with... two of the guys that he's gonna see in this way in in India's sujeet and Bulgaria's Mamedov. So.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know if it's gonna happen.

Reese: Who's that? Look at this. kind of be God bless you.

Cokeley Brothers: Who?

Reese: ah The Japanese guy.

Ryne: Who was the, before Real and Yanni. metal that is this white class who's the last american to

Cokeley Brothers: Bill Zadig and... like 2008 or something.

Ryne: Date.

Cokeley Brothers: 2006. 2006.

Ryne: Six!

Cokeley Brothers: Right?

Ryne: Thank you. I think it's five.

Cokeley Brothers: Or 11?

Ryne: Five or four.

Cokeley Brothers: hu

Ryne: No, no, no, it's it's it's pre 2008 for sure

Cokeley Brothers: Bill Zadig.

Ryne: Yeah, because Mike Zadek was our rep in 2008, I'm pretty sure.

Cokeley Brothers: Well, let's just Google Bill's Attic and we'll see. 2006.

Ryne: Sex?

Cokeley Brothers: Yep.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: I thought it was fine.

Cokeley Brothers: Kaisei... Tanabe is who you were asking about Reese, right?

Reese: Yeah, I'm looking at it here. He's alright. He's had some, all alright.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. I can't remember. Did... Did Kyuka wrestle at the Asian Games so he didn't go through the process of qualifying? for the World Team spot. I believe is the situation.

Cokeley Brothers: Because Japan takes the Asian games. very seriously. And... So we're missing him. at 65 kilograms. And I mean, I think that would have been ah also a very interesting wrinkle into.

Cokeley Brothers: the list of guys at this wave other notable names you have um

Reese: Sorry.

Cokeley Brothers: Russia. Where is he?

Reese: Abbas Gaddi

Cokeley Brothers: Abbas Ghazi. Is he not seated? He isn't. So you've got Magomedov. momadov Ahmadzad Sujit. I think that's your top four at this weight.

Cokeley Brothers: That's not the top four in seeds. but Those four I think are the guys that you look. for gold medal contention. And I think every single one of them. is capable of doing it.

Cokeley Brothers: Now if you ask Americans... obviously there's going to be a subset of people who say well Bo Bassett can beat all of these guys.

Cokeley Brothers: despite what happened at U23s.

Reese: Who says that?

Ryne: Bye.

Cokeley Brothers: There's some people, ah some US fans that can be will say that, absolutely.

Ryne: There's people. Yeah.

Reese: rumblings, rumors.

Ryne: No, not rumblings and rumors.

Cokeley Brothers: What do you mean, rumors?

Ryne: There's just people.

Reese: You're hearing rumors about people who think that?

Cokeley Brothers: Opinions

Ryne: people online

Cokeley Brothers: ill -advised opinions, I think. And this is...

Ryne: People online.

Reese: Some people say that

Cokeley Brothers: i I know this is coming off as Bo Bassett slander. He's 20 years old. And this is this is a such an insanely... difficult weight.

Ryne: I want him to.

Cokeley Brothers: Give them some time.

Ryne: I want him to medal. I want him to win it. I think he's getting bronze I think Amuzat is winning the weight class.

Cokeley Brothers: Bronze. It also feels like a stretch.

Ryne: And it's going to be tough. I think he can do it, though.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: I think he i think he's going to be peaking at the right time. Like I said, I don't think he was peaking for U23s. He's peaking now. I think he's going to make a pretty good run. Um...

Ryne: Yeah. I got him meddling. I got him. I got him as a bronze medal.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't feel confident or comfortable saying that he is going to end up on the podium. I think there's just so many... problematic. Guys that he could see at this weight And so.

Cokeley Brothers: especially considering the fact that he's not seeded. um Michael Madoff is not seated.

Ryne: I mean, I'll eat I'll eat crow. If I'm wrong, but...

Cokeley Brothers: Yully Crow?

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Check. Patrick?

Ryne: Dip it in some hot sauce for me.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. um

Cokeley Brothers: Give me... Give me Mamedov. I want to see Mamedov win. I think that would be the coolest champ.

Reese: Yeah, yeah. Marmadive. I agree with that. i I'll take Mabadov over what's -his -face. Al -Fatiha.

Cokeley Brothers: Sujit. Mamedov and Namazad will be in the semis.

Reese: ah Thought mom and I wasn't busy. Oh, yes

Cokeley Brothers: Mago Madoff is not seated.

Reese: Yeah

Ryne: I gotta turn this football game off.

Cokeley Brothers: Pax?

Ryne: It's about to get ugly.

Cokeley Brothers: why What happened?

Ryne: Detroit's about to score again. They're about to go up by Two scores.

Cokeley Brothers: Two skulls.

Ryne: mm -hmm

Cokeley Brothers: Sorry, brother.

Ryne: It's all right. It's been the... Basically how my weekends been going This episode brought to you by DraftKings. Enter promo code Reese if you want guaranteed losses.

Reese: Don't bite you put me on blast like that

Cokeley Brothers: not a sponsor. Not actually a sponsor, but... But yeah, if you want to, if you want.

Ryne: If you want.

Cokeley Brothers: If you want bad gambling advice.

Ryne: You run bad game advice. Enter promo code Reese.

Cokeley Brothers: Dr. Reece.

Reese: One week did I have one bad week one bad weekend?

Cokeley Brothers: And that's all it takes. That's all it takes for the house to win.

Reese: It's not true. False.

Ryne: You're fired. I hired Reese as my bookie for one day. He got fired.

Cokeley Brothers: Now, you and Baylor's coach. Out of here.

Ryne: and Out of here.

Reese: yeah

Cokeley Brothers: Kick him to the kicking of the curb.

Reese: I don't appreciate this this slander.

Cokeley Brothers: 70! kilograms.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know how to feel about this, Wade. Topsy, Tuga, Tumur, or Cheer. Followed up by Ernazar Akhmatuliev and three seed Ismail Musakayev. Uh -oh. Kanan Haybatab down at the sixth seed. Arman Andreasan at the seventh seed. Sina Khalili rounding out the top eight seeds. And America's Zane Allen Rutherford.

Cokeley Brothers: Going in unseated along with Russia's Ibrahimov.

Cokeley Brothers: this This would be a salty wait. And... Lachlan McNeil in there for Canada as well. our brothers up north. I this is kind of a it's kind of. It's a thin weight class. There's not a whole lot of entries.

Ryne: Who's the guy that beat Zane at ref?

Cokeley Brothers: Akhmat Aliyev

Ryne: What's he ranked? Or what's he seeded?

Cokeley Brothers: Bye.

Ryne: They use the two -seat, okay.

Cokeley Brothers: And I believe Ochir has kind of handled Zayn. when they've wrestled as well.

Ryne: In the past, yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: That's 65.

Ryne: Mhm.

Cokeley Brothers: Maybe not 70, but...

Ryne: I don't know if they've wrestled at 70.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, ah where is Japan's representative?

Ryne: Zane... Zane is a world champ at this weight.

Cokeley Brothers: Yuma Tomiyama, what in the world? Who is this? No photo.

Ryne: is

Cokeley Brothers: 23 years old. Give me some results, buddy. 2023. 12th place at the U -20 World Championships. at 70 kilograms. Oh, you got taken to 2 -1 -1 City by Tukayev. You lost 3 -7. Nope.

Cokeley Brothers: Oh, he got it.

Ryne: 211 city.

Cokeley Brothers: He got teched by Shapiro in the opening round too. Yeah. Sorry buddy. You're not in the conversation.

Ryne: um

Cokeley Brothers: this I think this is I don't really know I think i

Cokeley Brothers: Andreasson? Is this the one? Who's the one? it Was it Hephaestus or Andreasson that beat... PJ Duke. I think it was Hematog, right?

Ryne: I don't remember

Reese: Yes.

Cokeley Brothers: I think that... i think Hey, Batav. is the scariest one at this weight. Yes, this is the one that beat PJ Duke 14 -4.

Cokeley Brothers: I think that's the guy that you need to keep an eye out. four. Where is Iran's rep? Oh yeah, Khalili. Kalili, I'm not too worried about. Who is Armand Andreasson? Why do I recognize that name?

Reese: He's he's solid

Cokeley Brothers: He took fifth last year. Yeah. lost to ao yagi and then Akhmatolyev. yeah i mean i think this is i think you you got a you got a handful of dogs at the top with andreas on kalili habitab Akhmat Aliyev and Ochir, and I think Zane Rutherford can get in there as well.

Cokeley Brothers: Maybe.

Ryne: Give me Zane Train. I'm on the train. Choo -choo gold.

Cokeley Brothers: Oh. I want to see O 'Cheer. Get a title.

Ryne: Over the over the American

Reese: Awesome.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know. Obviously I always want to... I want... the American representative to win the world title. But... i'm i'm way I'm wagering. like expectations and you know what makes the most sense so like what i see actually happening like i don't think Zane Rutherford is going to come out of retirement when All of these nail -biter matches against Americans, obviously on short training time.

Ryne: a

Cokeley Brothers: ah but then also go out there and beat this guy who he's... traditionally had a very hard time against.

Ryne: Yeah. Give me the train. I think we sacrificed you 23s to have a good. seniors, just like we sacrificed you 17s to have a good U -20s.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, but we've... Okay, fine. Whatever.

Ryne: but

Cokeley Brothers: Didn't we sweep? the age group world championships last year.

Ryne: All of them? No, there was one we didn't win.

Cokeley Brothers: Nope.

Ryne: I thought.

Cokeley Brothers: Pretty sure we won all of them, and then we took second to seniors.

Ryne: They want them all. Oh. For some reason, I thought you were including seniors. Yeah, so we sacrificed a senior ah senior team title to sweep the age group.

Cokeley Brothers: know

Ryne: Silly.

Cokeley Brothers: And this year was a bit more costly. like we had to we had to We had to look like...

Ryne: yeah

Cokeley Brothers: We had to look like the worst thing we've ever looked like at U17s. to win you 20s in the best way we've ever looked and then

Ryne: Mmm.

Cokeley Brothers: have a typical

Ryne: Hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: slow performance AU23s.

Ryne: At home, on home soil, on home soil though.

Cokeley Brothers: to do what as seniors? Who cares about at home? It's in Vegas.

Ryne: on home soil. on home soil. That matters. That matters.

Cokeley Brothers: All right, dude, dude, if you like, I don't know if it's going to matter that much if you fly from, from. Happy Valley. to Las Vegas versus if you fly from Happy Valley. to wherever, Serbia.

Ryne: I'm gonna guess that there is a difference.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, we need to ask somebody who's actually done it.

Ryne: Yeah. Hit him up.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Who?

Ryne: Yanni.

Cokeley Brothers: no Has he, but he hasn't. Okay, close enough, you're right.

Ryne: Yeah, but but he hell he would be able to tell you like yeah, I think we'd i'd perform better at a world championship at home than I would. overseas.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: I think you'd be able to do it.

Cokeley Brothers: Um, Okay. Reese, 70 kilograms.

Reese: I'll take out cheer To win it all.

Cokeley Brothers: What did you read?

Reese: And I'll take Zane to take third. Get that Browns

Cokeley Brothers: It's fair. That's a fair estimation.

Reese: Yeah, I would cheer over the Russian, I guess.

Cokeley Brothers: Who was the Russian again? Is it...

Reese: It's every game of.

Cokeley Brothers: Here we go again.

Ryne: ibra Ibrahim of

Cokeley Brothers: Mm hmm. All right, 74 kilograms, a weight that... I find... puzzling. to say in the least.

Cokeley Brothers: Because we we don't have. We don't it's There's no Sidokov. There's no Valiev. There's no... The Japanese guy that won last year.

Ryne: No, Jamal have.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know There's no Jamal Ab anymore. you know i It's a weird weight.

Ryne: Mhm.

Cokeley Brothers: You've got top seed Sal Khazanov. Sal Khazanov is your top seed. This guy who's I think he's been in He's meddled four times at Worlds. and Yeah, he's all right, but he I just have never got had like champion vibes from him.

Cokeley Brothers: And yet here he is. As the prospective top guy, but you also of course have... uh yoshi aoyagi coming up from 70 kilograms and seeded sixth at this weight.

Cokeley Brothers: uh, Other notable guys at the weight, Shereev for Russia. um

Cokeley Brothers: Oh, Yazdani also coming up. Baby Oz. from 70 kilograms up to 74, kind of having a bit of a...

Ryne: Oh baby, yes. Hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: An upset performance at... uh trials for Iran to make the team.

Ryne: who

Cokeley Brothers: Um, And also one. I think this is going to be a little bit of a sleeper, and maybe he won't. Make the World Finals. But I think he'll really push guys. I think he'll prove to be problematic in some different ways.

Cokeley Brothers: And that is Garzon. for Cuba. I think he's gonna... you know. sort of make a name for himself at this weight.

Ryne: man I haven't. We haven't seen a really, really, really tough Cuban in a long time I feel like.

Cokeley Brothers: The last one was 2017 or 2018.

Ryne: That's what I'm saying. It's almost almost a decade ago.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: That's kind of scary

Cokeley Brothers: Right? Sometimes that's where the cookie crumbles.

Ryne: I guess.

Cokeley Brothers: um James Green, of course, for the United States. Up a weight.

Ryne: Thank you.

Cokeley Brothers: and with a new team from Nebraska to Virginia Tech, which this is that has been a sort of... game of ping pong that he has played. Um...

Ryne: What do you mean?

Cokeley Brothers: Well, he was that he was He wrestled in Nebraska. And I think when Jordan Burroughs left, he went to Southeast RTC. And then he came back to coach. after retiring and having hip surgery.

Cokeley Brothers: and coaching at the Olympic Training Center. And then he came back to coach at Nebraska. And they started competing again. And now he's leaving and he's going to coach at Virginia Tech and compete.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: So he's...

Ryne: I should have shown.

Cokeley Brothers: itru You know?

Ryne: Uh huh.

Cokeley Brothers: Second force.

Ryne: Yep yep.

Reese: Snap, snap.

Cokeley Brothers: Snip snap is reset.

Ryne: Snip snap. snap

Cokeley Brothers: Narkoza Kaipanov.

Cokeley Brothers: also in this weight no but like not the firepower that you typically see at 74 kilos.

Ryne: I know. And so... I like. Does that bode well for... James.

Cokeley Brothers: It could, but... I don't know

Ryne: It's hard to pick. It's hard to pick him to medal.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, it's not easy

Ryne: as good as he is

Cokeley Brothers: I think.

Reese: You guys are doubters, non -believers.

Ryne: um No, no, no, no, no. I'm picking him to medal. It's hard, though. I'm picking him to medal because as a fellow, like how am I not going to pick him?

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: Class of 2011.

Reese: How are you not going to pick them?

Ryne: How am I not going to pick him to metal? I'm going to pick my boy to metal.

Reese: You got to pick them.

Ryne: Got it.

Reese: This way is not that tough.

Ryne: It.

Cokeley Brothers: It's not tough, but i'd like when I think about a match... with. I say this. I say this knowing what happened recently. Like a match between him and Saul Kazanov, I don't see him getting his hand raised.

Ryne: What what

Cokeley Brothers: Um.

Ryne: But let's put it this way. If David Carr were the rep, how would we how would we be feeling? Would we be picking?

Cokeley Brothers: I wouldn't feel that good.

Ryne: Would we be no we wouldn't be picking them to maybe take gold

Cokeley Brothers: No! No, I wouldn't because of because he's he's he's lost to Cam Amin and Joe Seeley and had a nail -biter against Jaden James and and lost to James Green. and So if unless you're saying those things didn't happen and David Carr looked the way he did last year.

Cokeley Brothers: then I feel differently about it. But he doesn't look the same this year.

Ryne: Sure. Sure.

Cokeley Brothers: That's how I feel about it.

Reese: Listen. Listen. James Green. Incredibly high mat IQ according to his... his ah teammates, people that know him.

Ryne: Oh yeah.

Reese: He'll he'll go in there and i Think he's gonna surprise us

Ryne: I got him taking bronze.

Cokeley Brothers: I want that I want that to happen.

Ryne: i got I got him taking bronze. That's all kind of within it.

Cokeley Brothers: I'm going to stay firm on no metal. End. Maybe this will end up on ah on a... ah Virginia Tech. Highlight reel, whatever. That's fine. uh

Ryne: I'm taking bronze

Cokeley Brothers: Sure.

Ryne: That's how kind of winning it.

Cokeley Brothers: Suck Hasanov?

Ryne: That's what I said.

Cokeley Brothers: I think Yoshi wins the weight.

Cokeley Brothers: I think he and...

Ryne: Hey, Yoshi.

Cokeley Brothers: He and Yazdani make it to the finals. And... Yoshi went in.

Ryne: Ew, you think Baby Yaz is making the finals?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Really?

Cokeley Brothers: Mhm.

Ryne: and and james And James Green is going to DMP.

Cokeley Brothers: They look good.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, like a fifth.

Ryne: How would you feel about a baby as... Zayn Rutherford rematch.

Cokeley Brothers: Zane Rutherford.

Ryne: Because... That match has typically gone Zayn's direction.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Like in the two or three times that they've wrestled.

Cokeley Brothers: Zain Zub. Zane's at a different weight.

Ryne: I... But do you see what I'm saying?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, but Zayn's also beat the brakes off James Green every time they've wrestled.

Ryne: That's 65 kilos.

Cokeley Brothers: I know, but I get so like... Weight classes are here for a reason. you know Maybe Yazdani was down at 70 kilograms and 74 is the right weight for him.

Ryne: I... I'm saying. ah Maybe, I don't know. I don't know I don't know

Cokeley Brothers: i understand like there' there's

Ryne: he's he's never looked He's never looked that impressive, ever. You know, other than the year he took silver to Zane.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: That's all I'm saying.

Cokeley Brothers: I know. i know Um...

Reese: Give me green. to win it all.

Ryne: ah

Reese: over at Aoyagi.

Cokeley Brothers: Green to gold. Green to gold.

Reese: He's gonna be he's finally gonna beat out Yagi he's gonna figure him out

Cokeley Brothers: Have they wrestled?

Reese: Oh yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: And they wrestle.

Reese: Cut. couple times

Cokeley Brothers: Couple times.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: What are you drinking, Reese?

Reese: Water.

Cokeley Brothers: Yep. What elixir do you have?

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. 79 kilograms. Returning. World silver medalist Levi Haynes. for the United States. He will see the likes of Nakodi from Iran.

Cokeley Brothers: uh Kadi from Belarus dropping down from 86 kilograms to 79, which is... That's a choice. Mikey Labriola is in there as well. As well as U -20 world champion from this year, Ismail Kanaev, representing Russia.

Cokeley Brothers: And... no returning world champ. Coogie, because he is a bit... 86 kilograms.

Ryne: I got Levi winning.

Cokeley Brothers: End. Yeah. wait What do they have? Another Russian rep in here, Kurbanov.

Cokeley Brothers: What?

Ryne: Are you sure you're reading it correctly?

Cokeley Brothers: What is he doing in here?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, he's down at the bottom or am i did i switch to a different way somehow no i'm at 79 kilograms and if Well, they have. Can I have in here?

Ryne: Mm -hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: And then they also have Magomed. Krasinovich Khovanov.

Ryne: oo Maybe yeah

Cokeley Brothers: For Russia, I don't know whatever that might be a training partner situation, whatever um or a backup because maybe things are unclear with can i have for reasons

Ryne: Yeah, that's what i was that's what I was thinking. That's what I was thinking.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. Um.

Cokeley Brothers: I think there's going to be some notable names. I think Kaniyia is the one. Honestly, prior to his matchup against Jason Nolfe, I was very worried. about that match I was very worried about How?

Cokeley Brothers: I felt good about it. I felt good about Levi Haynes being able to counteract. the the problems that Kanaya presents in his matches. Um, But. We're talking about aggression.

Cokeley Brothers: and a successful one at that. And so I had some some fears, but... Honestly, having seen Jason Nolfe beat him. And. knowing how capable Levi Haynes is of preparing for and adjusting to the game plans of opponents.

Cokeley Brothers: I think he's gonna be okay.

Ryne: You got Levi taking gold?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, yeah

Ryne: boy

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I think Caddy and Cody both present some interesting. situations and problems as well as a Gijiev from Azerbaijan. the top seed. But...

Cokeley Brothers: I don't think any of these guys beat Levi Haynes.

Ryne: No. Levi I think It's going to be pretty unstoppable. for well Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa. What direction did he go after... for 2028.

Cokeley Brothers: down

Ryne: Think so?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Think he's going up

Cokeley Brothers: Breeze.

Reese: who

Cokeley Brothers: Leave it at that.

Ryne: Levi.

Cokeley Brothers: 2028.

Reese: I think he has to go up.

Ryne: Thank you for going up. And i think I think if he gets to wrestle folk style this year, he's wrestling 84.

Cokeley Brothers: And 600K Rocco's on the bench?

Ryne: Hehe. Sorry, Brock.

Reese: So why would they gray shirt? What's his face?

Cokeley Brothers: Jade dreams.

Reese: Then. Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: to get PJ Duke in at 65.

Reese: Yeah, I guess because Messenberg 74. Yeah, that makes sense

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: So, what I mean... your most optimal lineup. Wouldn't you rather have? Duke. mess and brink Haines instead of Messembrink, Haynes.

Ryne: Rocco.

Reese: Yeah. Yeah, for sure.

Cokeley Brothers: It's... Not like... a major. change though.

Ryne: I think it would be a major change I think you'd go from a guy who, Rocco.

Cokeley Brothers: Rocco is still... I guess he's...

Ryne: can win it to a guy like Levi who is going to win it and put up bonus points doing it.

Reese: I don't think he's going to win. I don't think that's necessarily true.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I disagree. I disagree with going to win it.

Cokeley Brothers: I think the top three at that weight, McAnally, Sinclair, and Ferrari all present. very interesting issues for Levi Haynes that he hasn't really seen too often in his folk style career.

Ryne: Yeah, you're probably you might be right. You might be right Defensively, I think you're probably your you're right.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Bye.

Cokeley Brothers: And. But, so like... Yes, Rocco. Would you rather have Levi Haynes or Rocco Welsh in it, 184, to win the NCAA title? I'd rather have Levi, but I still think it's.

Cokeley Brothers: a marginal difference. Maybe more for bonus points in general. He's going to score more bonus overall throughout the season in duels and at the tournament.

Ryne: Yeah. Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: But. Uh... i don't know the whole the whole lineup implications and and people getting screwed over because nobody's talking about Will Henkel anymore or Asher Cunningham for that.

Ryne: Well. apparently

Cokeley Brothers: Matter, a guy who.

Ryne: Apparently, Will is like... hurt though apparently he's like We got boo -boos.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, just...

Ryne: otherwise i think will Otherwise, I think they probably would have sent Will to U23s.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know.

Cokeley Brothers: i'm sick I'm sick of the the hoarding of... of capable, competent wrestlers.

Ryne: Oh, it's, hey.

Cokeley Brothers: talented wrestlers at Penn State and Oklahoma State.

Ryne: Five for five is gonna fix that I thank you.

Cokeley Brothers: Is it or are they just gonna? Hmm.

Ryne: I don't know if it's going to be immediate, but I think down the road, I think in the long run, it's going to fix it.

Cokeley Brothers: Hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: Hmm.

Ryne: It's going to spread things out.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I could start somewhere, but... Penn State's the best room to be in, so... Hmm.

Ryne: Yeah, I think I think more and more kids are gonna get away from that

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. you know.

Reese: Mm -hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: I want to be in the room where where they're winning Olympic titles. Which is not true, by the way. But that's okay. They've had, what, one Olympic champ, right? One.

Cokeley Brothers: David Taylor, that's it Okay.

Reese: One measly Olympic title.

Ryne: who

Cokeley Brothers: That was more so for the people on Twitter who were like, you if you want to go if you want to be the best and you go to Penn State, I'm like, well, the pinnacle of the sport kind of begs to differ. because Kyle Snyder, for example.

Cokeley Brothers: Olympic champion. Where was he training? Ohio State.

Cokeley Brothers: 86 kilograms. Kyle Dake. He's got Problems. a plenty at this weight class to to surmount.

Cokeley Brothers: Arseniy Dezhoyev is the top seed, followed by... Kamran Ghassanpour, Ibrahim Khedive, Rakim Magomedov, Vladimir Gankrelidze. to round out the top five seeds.

Cokeley Brothers: And... ah seated at eighth is kooky 79 kilogram world champ you also have friend of the show. Chris Fokker. In.

Cokeley Brothers: representing the Dominican Republic.

Reese: Ryan.

Ryne: What?

Reese: You want to know what your son just sent to me?

Ryne: I'm going to send you.

Reese: You sent me a TikTok. And then a message that said, Arch Manning fucking sucks.

Ryne: o

Reese: Where did he learn such language?

Ryne: Not me. Not me.

Cokeley Brothers: You also in the weight at 86 kilograms have Olympic champion, Michael Medrabizanov.

Ryne: Reese Reese Reese

Cokeley Brothers: for Bulgaria.

Ryne: Reply to him and say. Do some fucking homework.

Ryne: Get your driver's head to say get your driver's head done

Ryne: he should he's i i had this conversation well i don't want to talk about this online actually sorry I'm not.

Cokeley Brothers: Thank you.

Ryne: My bad.

Reese: Oh, Sammy's gonna freak out.

Ryne: No, Sammy wouldn't have freaked out.

Cokeley Brothers: No, I just like...

Ryne: I just don't want to. i was about to

Cokeley Brothers: It's not the right

Ryne: I was about to start venting. I'm glad I stopped myself.

Cokeley Brothers: can't Can't air it out.

Ryne: mm -hmm

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Um, How about no? that's That's what I was gonna... It's okay. Kyle Dake. Can he win this weight?

Cokeley Brothers: Can he run the gauntlet?

Ryne: No. I don't even know if Kyle is going to place.

Cokeley Brothers: Damn.

Ryne: i think he is our rep next I think he's our rep next year and does place.

Cokeley Brothers: Damn. Da -da -da -da -da -da -damn.

Ryne: He'll probably play so I'll probably be Eating shit for saying that but

Cokeley Brothers: I get it he got handled by dejoy of earlier this year and khadiyah it was close for a little bit and then then it kind of started to peel away a little bit but i mean the guy beat Zahid Valencia.

Ryne: Yeah, but so did Parker Kekeisen.

Cokeley Brothers: And... Gunker leads. did as well.

Ryne: Mhm.

Cokeley Brothers: But Kyle Dake beat Parker Kekeisen. And Gonkra leads. I've got... face. in the capability of our 86 kilogram representative.

Ryne: Enough?

Cokeley Brothers: Is he going to win it? Hmm. Um...

Ryne: Kadyev looks like the best guy.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know

Ryne: Looks like the best guy in the world at the weight class right now.

Cokeley Brothers: Who does?

Ryne: Good day, everyone.

Cokeley Brothers: i don't know if it's gonna be up i think it's i think it's gas

Ryne: You're a simple way.

Cokeley Brothers: That's important.

Ryne: I think to the idea of gas is gas and poor.

Cokeley Brothers: Hmm. Maybe. I don't know I would be all on the Kadia train except for his loss against Zahid Valencia. Yes, it was an RAF, which most people consider this like...

Ryne: A gimmick.

Cokeley Brothers: this like This transient space where the results don't really matter.

Ryne: What?

Cokeley Brothers: The wrestling isn't real. the The people who step onto the mat are these...

Ryne: There are three periods. There are three periods!

Cokeley Brothers: They're these facsimiles of of these of the wrestlers of of what we really see at the UWW stage. Which I get.

Cokeley Brothers: And I also don't. uh, And I think.

Cokeley Brothers: I think there's some... some revelations to garner from from that matchup and that result and how it happened. And. I'm going to say Kyle Blake gets a bronze medal. I'm going to hedge I'm going to have a very reserved but optimistic...

Cokeley Brothers: expectation. and and prediction for Kyle Dake. I say he gets a bronze medal. He loses. A close. Probably caught controversial match.

Cokeley Brothers: to one of the to to one of the finalists. Maybe it's gas. Maybe it's Kibia. Maybe it's... somebody else. As a matter of fact, Gasson could be of everybody's going to be on the same side.

Cokeley Brothers: so

Cokeley Brothers: It could be. Maybe he's topside. with DeJoyev and... DiGiorno, Magamadov, Gamkralids, and Kugi. Also... ridiculously tough.

Cokeley Brothers: just having those four guys up there and the other two on the bottom half. you don't really have like There's no cakewalk. Two. the finals. There's no easy there's there's no easy way out.

Cokeley Brothers: to quote Rocky IV.

Ryne: And there's... And there's there's no guy, there's no guy you can be like, oh, I'm comfortable losing here because he'll pull me through.

Cokeley Brothers: No. Because Gas and Kadyev can trade back and forth, and I don't think there's any major standout between DeJoyev, Magomadov, Gankralides, and Kugi.

Ryne: mm -hmm

Ryne: Exactly. Exactly.

Cokeley Brothers: So give me Caldick Bronze and give me gas to win it.

Reese: Did we do predictions for 79?

Ryne: Okay. picked Levi.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, Leave My Hands is winning it. See you soon.

Reese: I didn't do a prediction You don't care about my prediction?

Cokeley Brothers: Oh.

Ryne: Go ahead

Cokeley Brothers: Speak up, Dunn. Speak up and put your put your face behind it.

Ryne: Yeah, put your face behind it bitch

Reese: I'm not even going to predict. How about that?

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: Frick.

Cokeley Brothers: Didn't want it anyway. As a matter of fact, I doubt most people can hear you right now.

Reese: That's how I like it.

Ryne: I can hear him just fine.

Cokeley Brothers: The Browns? The Browns beat the Titans with a game -winning field goal.

Reese: Oh, wow.

Cokeley Brothers: Unbelievable.

Reese: We're getting off topic here. Get back to the wrestling.

Cokeley Brothers: Unbelievable. Back on the wrestling. Rhys, what are your predictions for 86 kilograms?

Reese: Who cares?

Cokeley Brothers: Moving on, 92.

Cokeley Brothers: we have

Reese: But did you guys do predictions?

Ryne: Just so you guys know.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I've said mine.

Ryne: Just so you guys know, the Lions were about to score. I turned that game off. The Packers got an interception and have now tied the game. That's my power. Right there. That's my superpower.

Cokeley Brothers: So Reese can't gamble and you can't watch.

Ryne: Exactly. Well, and and I...

Cokeley Brothers: And I can't care.

Ryne: I can gamble.

Reese: What do you mean I can't gamble? I was gambling just fine until...

Ryne: I came. I can gamble.

Reese: yesterday.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay, you're right, you're right. your right Right now, so... Everybody can gamble. Reese can't give gambling advice.

Ryne: There you go.

Cokeley Brothers: Ryan can't watch the game. and I can't care.

Reese: i should I should have said no when you asked me.

Ryne: Ryan also

Reese: I can't believe you asked me for advice, man.

Ryne: ah You said you were doing so well, and I hadn't gambled in so long, so I figured figured what the heck.

Reese: I can't believe you did that

Ryne: Let's listen to your brother.

Reese: I should have went against my better judgment.

Ryne: Let's listen to our brother.

Reese: I cannot believe that all three... All three of the teams that I suggested lost. phone.

Ryne: I bet on Baylor, too.

Reese: Well, I bet against KU every week.

Reese: just because

Cokeley Brothers: That way you you either have money or good feelings.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: that's that's that hey

Cokeley Brothers: Can't lose.

Ryne: that's I feel like you got that from me, Reese.

Reese: I did.

Cokeley Brothers: All right, Ryan, what's what's your give me give me a pred at 86.

Ryne: and

Cokeley Brothers: What's your pred?

Ryne: i Told you I got Kadiev, I got... Dake, no metal.

Cokeley Brothers: okay Reese? Please.

Reese: Give me that gold

Cokeley Brothers: all right 92 kilograms. Mr. Live Wrestling himself, Trent Heidly. is your top seed returning world champion. And he's got the returning world finalist in the bracket as well at the three seed, Gadji Magomedov.

Cokeley Brothers: from Russia. as well as Four Seed from Iran. Amir Hossein Firouz. Very tough. Very tough matchup there. If we see him in the semis.

Cokeley Brothers: Asmat Dalabekov at the 7th seed, also 2 seed. Mirani Maisarazi from Georgia has been tough in the past. but tre highlyid has had him and Dalit Bekov figured out, or actually Dalit Bekov is from 86 kilograms.

Cokeley Brothers: So let me correct myself on that one um Other notable names at this weight that are not seated, Darwin Karuglia from Greece. Pretty dang tough.

Cokeley Brothers: Been around for a while, though, so he's getting up there in age. And that's kind of it. Japan taking a very back seat, like not really showing up. for worlds this year, I guess because the Asian Games are going on.

Cokeley Brothers: Like they've got Yoshi and... Yoshida that's it.

Cokeley Brothers: Weird.

Ryne: I got Trent to return. double Double up. Double go.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, there's nothing else at this weight that makes sense. He could he can lose.

Ryne: He could get beat by the Russian.

Cokeley Brothers: this the

Ryne: of repeat finals and the russian could get the dub this time but

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, he could he could lose to the Iranian in the semis as well, but...

Ryne: Uh -huh, uh -huh.

Cokeley Brothers: I think if Trent is healthy. i know he's had i think hand issues i don't know if it's fingers or wrist or what it is. But yeah, I want. I want some of this action. right here I want to see Trent Heidly raise the roof.

Cokeley Brothers: in Astana, Kazakhstan. Please. Peace.

Reese: Yeah, I think I'd take him over. the Over. ah I don't know I've been picking a lot of golds for America.

Cokeley Brothers: Keep doing it. This is what we're good at.

Reese: getting golds

Ryne: Yeah, we're a bunch.

Cokeley Brothers: now predicting golds.

Ryne: You know, I swear a bunch of gold diggers.

Reese: I'm going to take the Iranian to get gold.

Cokeley Brothers: Totally valid. Totally valid prediction.

Ryne: I hope Trent shows up to your house with his gold medal and a hoagie in his other hand and shoves it down your throat.

Cokeley Brothers: I hope Trent Hadley shows up to your front door and as you open it. when He rings the doorbell. you open it and like before you can even react to it being heavy underhook knee taps you right to your back.

Ryne: Right to your back.

Cokeley Brothers: You don't even you don't even realize what you got hit with.

Reese: Raises my roof

Ryne: And then raises your roof. Yep. raises it.

Cokeley Brothers: Yep, and it raises your roof. and then throws a business card on your chest and says, you're welcome.

Ryne: mm -hmm A business card in your chest and a hoagie down your throat.

Reese: Whoa.

Ryne: Eat it. boy.

Cokeley Brothers: 97. kilograms. There's a lot going on here. We talked we we prefaced it a little bit earlier.

Ryne: Man, i almost I almost want to go.

Cokeley Brothers: But...

Ryne: to heavyweight and then come back to this one.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay, bye! We can do that.

Ryne: Cool.

Cokeley Brothers: 125 kilograms. we have returning world champion Amir Hossein Zahra. Sitting at the two seed with top seed Yogi Meshvideshvili from Azerbaijan being... the top seed.

Cokeley Brothers: We also have Bahrain's Shamil Sharipov. Very, very tough. And... Along with that, at the weight, we have Abdullah Kurbanov from Russia.

Cokeley Brothers: Wyatt Hendrickson for the United States and. probably the most notable entry for this year that's that's new from last year. is Kasimbek from Kazakhstan.

Cokeley Brothers: Very tough. This is the guy who... Beat Colmier -Sola at U20s last year.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: Lost to Mako at U17s two years ago, I believe? Um, But then this year, lost 3 -3 on criteria at the Asian Games to Zare.

Ryne: To Zara, yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: that that is that is Far and away the closest match that anyone has given Zarya and he has shown promise. throughout the age groups.

Ryne: Hey, he was winning too with like...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: short time i don't know like what 15 seconds i think and he got to step out

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Yeah, I I... Think. If I'm gonna... Give anybody the real any real expectations of beating Zarya. It's Kassenbeck.

Cokeley Brothers: But maybe not this year. He's the young. He's gonna... you know grow up And so. Things can... continue to trend in one direction. ah

Reese: One Direction

Cokeley Brothers: I'm hopeful and obviously going to keep an eye on. what happens with Wyatt Henderson.

Ryne: Yeah, I got

Cokeley Brothers: I don't have

Ryne: I got Wyatt I got white taking gold.

Cokeley Brothers: Dude. What? I love look love Wyatt. I love him. but What are we doing?

Ryne: I'm a believer.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: I'm a believer.

Cokeley Brothers: i i don't I don't have him taking gold. As a matter of fact, I don't i think I'm going to say he doesn't meddle.

Ryne: Again?

Cokeley Brothers: ah Yeah, I think he i think he improves.

Ryne: Not even a bronze?

Cokeley Brothers: you know maybe you know he wins a match or two loses and gets pulled back into record shots takes fifth or seventh or something like that.

Ryne: right

Cokeley Brothers: and and like shows like, okay. he's not getting just completely shut out in these matches against some of these. uh, put together foreigners.

Cokeley Brothers: Um.

Ryne: if he gets if he If he wins it. i We get to do an interview with him. Just me and Reese. You're out.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. Reese, do you, does that, does that mean Reese hasn't?

Ryne: You're out.

Cokeley Brothers: predicted the gold

Reese: Yep.

Cokeley Brothers: I would love to see you guys conduct an interview without me.

Reese: Yes.

Ryne: Wow

Reese: Not that hard buddy

Cokeley Brothers: I would love it

Ryne: Seriously.

Cokeley Brothers: Because... you've got You've got Mr. Camera -less. quiet man down here.

Ryne: I would...

Cokeley Brothers: And then you're right. You're going to be all on your own.

Ryne: I would fix.

Cokeley Brothers: You can be all on your own for this one.

Ryne: i would fix that issue i would fix that issue no problem for race

Cokeley Brothers: I fixed that issue.

Ryne: I would fix that issue for him no problem.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Ryne: I'd make one phone call to get this man a camera. a computer with a camera. That's all I would take one phone call. All right. And then we would conduct an excellent interview. You know what? we're gonna it's It's happening now. I don't know if it's going to be Wyatt or who it's going to be, but we're definitely doing one without you now.

Cokeley Brothers: I'll do. I will set it up for you.

Ryne: You've poked... You've poked the bear.

Cokeley Brothers: I'll set it up for you. Do you want to do it? do you what We'll talk.

Reese: How hard do you think it is to ask questions, Sammy?

Cokeley Brothers: We'll talk shop after. it's not that hard it's not It's not actually that hard, but like I just would want to see you guys get the scheduling handled. and and actually do it.

Ryne: I can get it, dude.

Reese: Is that a schedule?

Cokeley Brothers: Ciao.

Reese: Set a time.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I mean, because we can regularly do that for this show, right?

Ryne: you know you know You know, recruiting is...

Reese: Yeah, we don't

Ryne: Part of my job.

Reese: Because you ask on ah on a daily basis because you're like hey Can we do a podcast in three hours?

Cokeley Brothers: He can't see my face. He can't see my face. a Shut up. Shut up.

Ryne: Shut up!

Cokeley Brothers: Shut up.

Ryne: Shut up!

Cokeley Brothers: I just I can't This is not... We're getting off topic, Reese. What's your what's your pred?

Reese: This is your fault.

Cokeley Brothers: Won't you pray?

Reese: I already said it

Cokeley Brothers: See you again. Say it for me.

Reese: You have to go back.

Ryne: He picked Wyatt with me, remember?

Cokeley Brothers: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: sure Let's move back down to 97 kilograms, the top weight class of... tournaments. You have top seed. returning world champion for the United States, Kyle Snyder. Looking to go back to back for.

Cokeley Brothers: the first time. Ever? for him. I mean, I guess he won olympic and world back -to -back. from 2015 to 2016 and 2017.

Cokeley Brothers: But...

Cokeley Brothers: I don't think he's ever won a bracket this tough. two seed Ahmed Tazardinov from Bahrain, three seed Arash Rashida. And then... Sadulayev is going to get put in as the ace. Okay, so...

Cokeley Brothers: Kyle Snyder's going to wrestle Sadulaev in the quarters. And then... Ahmed Adamovich Magomeyev. in the semis and then the winner between tazudinop and yoshida in the finals if he can win all of those matches you also have unseated Arturo Torres from Cuba who maybe can... cause some Some commotion, maybe, I don't know.

Cokeley Brothers: Rizabek Aitmokan from Kazakhstan. Keep you in my charge. Shvili from Georgia.

Cokeley Brothers: And Hassan Yazdani from Iran.

Cokeley Brothers: So... There's a lot going on here. There's a lot to consider. been looking at The names... what they're all capable of.

Cokeley Brothers: The person I'm the most doubtful about is definitely Yazdani. simply because we saw him get teched by Stephen Buchanan. And...

Cokeley Brothers: I just don't know if that bodes super well for him. But then he beats Azepura to make... the Iranian world team. Which is pretty it's pretty dang good results I don't know if that's sort of like a...

Cokeley Brothers: a big brother thing though where it's like Oh my goodness, I'm going to beat the Hassan Hazdani. because he's royalty over there. but

Cokeley Brothers: What can I say to get you off your phone, Ryan?

Ryne: I'm looking for somebody to interview.

Cokeley Brothers: Figure it out later. Figure it out later.

Ryne: okay but Um...

Cokeley Brothers: God.

Ryne: the the weight class is tough though what do you i mean it's just tough to predict honestly i don't i don't

Cokeley Brothers: I'm not asking for you to predict. Give me some thoughts.

Ryne: I know. i'm That I'm...

Cokeley Brothers: what about or What's Yoshida going to do?

Ryne: like He could, he could not. He could meddle, he could not.

Cokeley Brothers: I think.

Ryne: How good is...

Cokeley Brothers: I think there's...

Ryne: How good is Taz going to look? Is Taz going to look as good as a seed or is... He going to fumble.

Reese: Taz is not going to look good, dude.

Ryne: Or is he going to fumble early?

Cokeley Brothers: Reese, who'd you say is not gonna look good?

Ryne: Taz.

Reese: Taz.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, like I think Taz is very uncertain. I think he's got the highest ceiling and the lowest floor. I think Yoshida will be... Yoshida and Sadulaev, I feel very confident in saying that both of them will medal.

Cokeley Brothers: i don't know what metal

Reese: has had one

Ryne: look at Look at it this way, though. Look at it this way.

Reese: One.

Ryne: Look at it this way. Hey. Snyder and Sajulaev. Whoever wins that one could lose in the semis, and then one of them isn't fucking meddling. Pardon my French.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I just.

Ryne: Do you see what I'm saying though? This is this is my I've... Because ive I saw these seeds. I was looking at these seeds. a while ago and like i was like This could be disastrous for Kyle Snyder.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I think it kind of depends on like where gets drawn in. If he gets drawn in on the top half.

Ryne: It's like the worst.

Cokeley Brothers: and like would wrestle

Ryne: it's like we it's like the worst one seed you could possibly want It's like Makai Lewis getting the one seed.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I mean

Reese: Well, I mean...

Ryne: And then, and then Carter Staracci's the eight.

Cokeley Brothers: Hmm.

Reese: How good is...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Reese: How good is Magamayev?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, so like the four and five seed, or the, the yeah, the four and five seed, Magomayev and Baranowski.

Reese: He's 35.

Reese: Those dudes are old

Cokeley Brothers: They're okay. But... Yes, Donnie could be in that. that quarter as well.

Reese: Could be

Cokeley Brothers: um You also have item con. And some other guys who...

Ryne: This is this is

Cokeley Brothers: aren't going to be seated.

Ryne: Outside of 65, the hardest way to predict.

Ryne: Actually, I take it back. It's harder because I feel pretty confident in my Amuzod pick at 65.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: I have like... no confidence in picking gold at this weight class.

Cokeley Brothers: I think you're most certain. gold medalist is is Like your most likely gold medalist is Sajulayev.

Ryne: You think so? But the dude could get hurt at any moment and be done.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Reese: He's only going to get hurt if he goes down a bunch by a bunch of points. Or if he's almost gonna get taken down

Ryne: Or he's about to get taken down?

Reese: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, and his his match against... um

Ryne: He's not getting any younger.

Cokeley Brothers: His match against Bronigal was kind of concerning.

Reese: It could be 40.

Cokeley Brothers: But again...

Reese: Probably no.

Cokeley Brothers: It's all right. Starting now.

Ryne: i don't this is so I don't know. who I'm going last. I'm picking last. You guys first.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, um I'll remind you. Reese, you go first.

Reese: I don't think so, do I?

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. I will also take side your life. Snyder takes bronze.

Cokeley Brothers: Go ahead, Ryan.

Ryne: I'm taking Kyle Snyder.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, I knew you would.

Ryne: I'm going to take Kyle Snyder.

Cokeley Brothers: You coward.

Ryne: Coward.

Ryne: Sorry, comrade.

Cokeley Brothers: What can I say?

Ryne: Sorry comrade.

Cokeley Brothers: I'd rather be right than a patriot. Apparently is what I'm saying. I don't know.

Cokeley Brothers: Uh...

Ryne: Yikes. I'm writing mine down.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: I'm writing mine down by the way, so we don't forget.

Cokeley Brothers: I did, I've already forgotten mine, so.

Ryne: You're gonna have to go back and listen because i are in know line

Cokeley Brothers: God.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, whatever you said. Um, Okay. That's our show. Don't expect any clips. of this.

Cokeley Brothers: event from anybody.

Ryne: Are we done?

Cokeley Brothers: Obviously the barn session stopped clicking a long time ago.

Ryne: You guys don't want to do one lineup look?

Cokeley Brothers: Um,

Cokeley Brothers: Breeze.

Reese: Hell no.

Ryne: One line -up look.

Cokeley Brothers: Who do you want to look at?

Ryne: um Iowa.

Cokeley Brothers: Thought we already looked at them.

Ryne: Did we?

Reese: So tired of you and Iowa, man. Get a room.

Ryne: Why? they got They got beat yesterday. That was bad.

Cokeley Brothers: It's going to be Iowa's lineup.

Reese: Yeah. Yesterday was in insane.

Ryne: Yuck.

Cokeley Brothers: Iowa's lineup is going to be... Leo DeLuca, Ryan Kirkham, Monsieur Bailey. Jordan Williams, Ryder Block, Carter Schubert. 174 is Gabe Arnold. 184 is Angela Ferrari. 197 is Harvey Leadington. And heavyweight is Ben Keeter. And they're all going to be held together with scotch tape.

Cokeley Brothers: for the whole dang season.

Ryne: Fourth place.

Cokeley Brothers: Scotch tape and and and thoughts and prayers from Tom and Terry Brands.

Ryne: fourth fourth Fourth place trophy.

Cokeley Brothers: and jacob And Jacob Warner is going to... shove them to fourth place.

Ryne: Better than Seth.

Cokeley Brothers: Trophy.

Ryne: Hey.

Cokeley Brothers: It's a trophy, and you know what? That keeps us that keeps the boat moving forward.

Ryne: they're going to And they're going to find a way to beat Nebraska in the duel.

Cokeley Brothers: Yes.

Ryne: Hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: Yes.

Ryne: What do you guys think about... ah Two weight class changes I wanted to bring up real quick. Just two.

Cokeley Brothers: yeah

Ryne: Okay.

Reese: How about Jesse Mendes coming back?

Ryne: Oh, we can, well.

Cokeley Brothers: Possible.

Ryne: No, it's happening.

Cokeley Brothers: It's possible.

Ryne: But what weight class?

Cokeley Brothers: 49.

Reese: What do you mean it's possible?

Ryne: It's happening.

Cokeley Brothers: I mean that it's that it it either can happen. or it cannot happen.

Reese: Yeah, I thought it was like I thought it was

Ryne: But it's happening. I thought it was a foregone conclusion now.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: that is happening.

Cokeley Brothers: Is it?

Ryne: well the court said that he has eligibility so i'm pretty sure it's happening

Cokeley Brothers: Sounds possible to me.

Ryne: I hate you

Reese: Alright.

Ryne: I hate you.

Reese: Just as soon as this exhausting sometimes

Ryne: Reswap weight class.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't know. i

Ryne: Reese, what weight class? What weight class, Reese?

Reese: What?

Ryne: What weight class do you think we'll see him at?

Reese: 149.

Ryne: I think what's...

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, like if you're gonna come back Do the interesting thing.

Ryne: I think we'll see him at 41. What? It wouldn't be interesting for him to be at 41.

Cokeley Brothers: No, 49 would be more interesting.

Ryne: I think a Bo Bassett matchup. is way more intriguing than

Reese: It makes one.

Ryne: Any of the matchups at 49.

Reese: It makes 149 more interesting, that's for sure.

Ryne: it meant oh Yes, sure. Yes, sure. the weight class as a whole.

Cokeley Brothers: I... I think the storyline of him

Ryne: I think I... A Jesse Mendez matchup against Bo Bassett is... volumes more interesting than any of the guys, the top guys at 49.

Cokeley Brothers: You don't want to see him get revenge against Sergio Vega.

Ryne: Not happening. It's going to be much harder to beat Sergio up a weight class.

Cokeley Brothers: That's the intrigue.

Ryne: I don't find it intriguing at all

Cokeley Brothers: That's the that's the Take it!

Ryne: I don't.

Cokeley Brothers: So you're saying you're saying Sergio Vega is going to be so much better than him that it wouldn't even be possible?

Ryne: At 49.

Cokeley Brothers: It's not interesting to me.

Ryne: Yeah, I think he's going to get, I just think he's going to widen the gap more at 49 as a bigger guy. I don't think Jesse Mendez is going to be that big of a competitor at 149, especially if he's got 65 kilograms on the back of his mind.

Reese: I don't think Sergio really has the ability to widen the get the gap that much without without any kind of real offense

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Guess we'll see what kind of work you put in this summer.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: Bet.

Cokeley Brothers: And like...

Cokeley Brothers: You've got You've got.

Cokeley Brothers: Bo Bassett and Luke Stancher, 41. Interesting. Sure. Luke Stanich obviously gave him a tough match last year. Bo Batson would be very interesting, yes. At 49. It's Sergio Vega.

Cokeley Brothers: It's Caleb Henson. Aidan Valencia, Shane Van Ness. And if you put a first a fifth person in that top tier. It's just fun. It's just fun. It's interesting.

Cokeley Brothers: There's variance. I like it I like it more than I like 41.

Ryne: I think the only one he beats is Valencia Honestly.

Cokeley Brothers: That's insane. It's insane to me.

Ryne: ah Why is it insane?

Cokeley Brothers: Because he's good.

Ryne: I'm not saying he's not good, but so are these other guys. These other guys are good too, and they're bigger and stronger. which matters.

Reese: No, you can't say they're bigger.

Cokeley Brothers: I... do

Reese: and shut Dude, come on Good.

Ryne: What do you mean?

Reese: ...

Cokeley Brothers: Like, yes.

Reese: ... ...

Cokeley Brothers: Ryan, I understand that weight classes are a thing. I preach about that all the time, but I think Jesse Mendez can... kin. build himself up into a 49. a 149 pound wrestler.

Ryne: That he's not gonna be as big as as

Cokeley Brothers: Thanks.

Ryne: Yeah. Caleb Henson or Sergio Vega who are not cutting down to 65 kilograms when this dude is, is this dude's not going to balloon himself up to be a giant 49 pounder when he knows he's got to cut down to 65 fucking kilograms.

Reese: You might be right.

Cokeley Brothers: do you Do you think he needs to balloon up to be a giant? 149 pounder to contend with Caleb Henson and Sergio Vega.

Ryne: Yes! Yes!

Cokeley Brothers: I disagree.

Reese: I will say...

Cokeley Brothers: I don't think so

Reese: He did not look big compared to... He looked smaller than, uh... Luke Stanage.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, you're you you're you're on Luke Stanich being a massive. 41 pounder.

Reese: He looked he looked a bit he looked small compared to Luke

Cokeley Brothers: I don't. I don't know if I agree. I don't know.

Ryne: Luke is just cut.

Reese: Look at a bigger everything like he was just It looked bigger in every aspect.

Cokeley Brothers: Bigger everything.

Ryne: Luke is just... Lucas Catt. He's a strong man. He's a strong man.

Ryne: Strong man.

Cokeley Brothers: Okay. Jesse Mendez. Who else?

Ryne: ah Jackson Joy. i want to see I mean, he makes 57. Very interesting in my opinion

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Yeah, him and Ryder Block coming up to 157. 157 before these guys are in the way was to me.

Ryne: Is that confirmed, writer block?

Cokeley Brothers: No, no.

Ryne: Okay.

Cokeley Brothers: So I guess we don't have to include that.

Ryne: No.

Cokeley Brothers: So just Jackson joy. Before he even was involved in 157, I thought it was the most interesting and... probably even the deepest weight class. Uh... or the best way of class, whatever you want, however you want to phrase it.

Cokeley Brothers: add him Add him into that mix and... I mean, it's just fun. It's just a really fun weight class with a lot of very interesting names.

Ryne: um I mean... Yeah, I want to see Joy, I think Joy matches up well against guys like. Taylor and... Robidoux and...

Ryne: Um... K -SAC. I would love to see it. Jackson Joye. Tyler Kasich match. I think that would be very interesting. Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Yeah. yeah that uh i don't think that was supposed to like be released publicly and then Christian Piles dropped it, so.

Cokeley Brothers: Somebody leaked.

Ryne: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: It is what it is. These things happen.

Ryne: because technically we have known about it. ah time.

Cokeley Brothers: It's been a couple weeks. In a couple weeks when...

Ryne: I feel like it's been a month at least.

Cokeley Brothers: I don't remember. i don't i don't know when

Ryne: um looking up look up our text.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: And then the last one I was going to bring up is that I think is interesting is. um Isaiah Poe. coming down to 33.

Cokeley Brothers: Oh, down to 33 could be, there could be something interesting there. There were some... There are some weird results at the wrestle -offs at Oklahoma. And Poe down at 33.

Ryne: Well, he, tech I mean. He I mean He... Based off our conversations. He basically made the weight class. for the for the wrestle offs and then tech followed the two dudes he had so

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: I mean, he's going to be, if he gets on top, outside of the top. four or five guys outside of top five guys like I mean, if he gets on top of some of these dudes, he can he could probably turn them.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, he...

Ryne: I don't know if he can turn Blaze, Seidel.

Cokeley Brothers: he

Ryne: Jax, it would be tough. He could, but it would be just because of how strong he is, but it would be tough. I could see him turning Divino just because Divino.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Um... is shorter. I think that kind of Helps. uh Isaiah a little bit

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Um... And then cro crook them. I mean, how healthy is Kirkham going to be? So.

Cokeley Brothers: Right.

Ryne: sure isaiah isaiah can beat a 50 ryan crookham so

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: I. yeah i think We'll see we'll see what Oklahoma can get out of them

Ryne: If he does it right, if he does it right, I think he... you can do a lot of damage.

Cokeley Brothers: That's good to hear.

Ryne: So. What other results from those wrestle -offs did you... Oh, I liked the Saldano result. Is that the one?

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah, Ontiveros. beating the brakes off of Saldana.

Ryne: Mm hmm. Mm hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: My goodness, what's up with that?

Ryne: Mm hmm.

Reese: Hold on to this.

Ryne: Yeah.

Reese: Old.

Ryne: The young buck. The young buck.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Ryne: Shut up.

Cokeley Brothers: do you So do you think...

Ryne: Shout out Owen Eck. He looked good. he didn't write I mean, Patty didn't wrestle that night, but Owen looked good.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah.

Cokeley Brothers: right

Cokeley Brothers: Um,

Cokeley Brothers: That, what else did I see? Oh, ah Jersey Rob beef beats Anthony Harris 7 -3. What else in here? uh I think Sebastian Dijonaro might be the guy at 125.

Ryne: I didn't.

Cokeley Brothers: I think obviously the... the expected starter right now is going to be Conrad Henderson but Sebastian's tough.

Ryne: Yep. Yep.

Cokeley Brothers: So we'll see. We'll see. Oklahoma's... Oklahoma's got a very interesting team this year. Of course, nine of their 10 starters are transfers. um well, not of their 10 expected starters or transfers.

Cokeley Brothers: ah Maybe it's a little different if Salvano's not going to be in the lineup.

Ryne: Yeah, it would be eight

Cokeley Brothers: 8 of 10.

Ryne: It'll be 8 of 10.

Cokeley Brothers: Um, And if Anthony Harris gets the nod of Jersey Rob. Seven. but

Ryne: Why? Jersey, Jersey.

Cokeley Brothers: They've got an interesting lineup.

Ryne: Handled that match You didn't watch the match. You saw the result. It was a...

Cokeley Brothers: Wait, what did I say? Did I mix myself?

Ryne: No, you said it was, you were like, uh, Jersey Rob won seven to two or seven to three or whatever it was. It was, he controlled the match the entire time. There was.

Cokeley Brothers: Oh yeah, Jersey Rob, i but I flipped in my head that Harris beat Rob.

Ryne: Oh, okay.

Cokeley Brothers: which Anthony Harris has shown some promise in some of his matches and results.

Ryne: je Jersey controlled that match.

Cokeley Brothers: But... Yeah, if that's the case then.

Ryne: Jersey controlled that match.

Cokeley Brothers: Yeah. Okay. um We've lost Reese for all intents and purposes, which is fine. We're an hour and 25 minutes into this. ah That Senior Worlds starts on Thursday.

Cokeley Brothers: And the college wrestling season is where we're knocking on the door. It's coming right up, so...

Ryne: Mm hmm.

Cokeley Brothers: Hopefully we can produce more content for you guys more consistently to cover this. We'll see. Ryan Reese, Closing Thoughts.

Ryne: Closing time.

Reese: You're welcome, Baylor.

Ryne: You're welcome Baylor.

Reese: that's my closing thought

Ryne: You're welcome, Baylor.

Cokeley Brothers: You're welcome Baylor. And...

Ryne: Go get yourself a new coach.

Reese: Yeah.

Ryne: And Rock Chalk.

Reese: Long overdue.

Cokeley Brothers: Go. Go. Yeah, rock chalk and go Hoosiers.

Ryne: God bless you.
