Speaker: Well, welcome back everybody. Despite all the odds, despite our increasingly advanced age, and despite the fact that our last episode was recorded somewhere around the Halloween, We The Beeple has somehow returned. We're really excited.
Speaker: It's been so long since we were last together that the comment generator has actually acquired several new complaints. Some forum users have even become grandparents, and community scores have reached frankly alarming levels. And enough has happened around here that we could probably have 20 episodes about it instead of one. But fortunately, we're going to attempt at least to catch up on at least some of all of all of this in this episode of We The Beeple.
Speaker: We're going to hear about so what's been happening in everybody's lives. And we're going to talk to one of the forum's most recognizable personalities. We're going to try and answer some community questions.
Speaker: We're going to try and talk about BeLive 2026. If you're new around here, maybe this is the first time you're tuning in. This is a podcast where we attempt to pull back the curtain on the strange and wonderful people behind the Babylon Bee headline forum.
Speaker: So if you don't know who I am, I'm Tiege and I'm currently exiled somewhere in continental Europe. Joining me as always is Dr. Conservative Prof, the forum's favourite accounting professor and the only man capable of turning a discussion about tax policy into a medically recognised sleep aid. are you doing, Prof?
Speaker: That's true. Very, very true. I taught two tax classes last year and put a lot of folks to sleep. So I'm really good at it if anybody has insomnia. I'm doing great. It's ah enjoying my summer break. And I've gone a few days without shaving, which feels really good. So um it's just scruppy and gray in my face. So yeah, enjoying that. Looking very rugged.
Speaker: Yeah, exactly. And ah of course, as well as prof, we've got our dear Kurgle, the podcast's diversity hire, curator of throw pillows, an empty nester now, headline writing machine, and the only person I know capable of earning an alarming number of community points while simultaneously reorganizing a laundry room.
Speaker: Hey, Kurgle, are you doing? Good. Good to be back. Yeah. And I was wondering, yeah, with Dr. Conservative Prof, if you were starting to grow a beard now. Yeah. I'll shave it here pretty soon. it but I wait too long, it gets really hard to shave and I don't like that. So I was on a fishing trip for the last few days. So I just gave me an excuse not to shave. So I just got back yesterday. Yep.

It's a longtime keeper of the Convo Dude, I believe also the Bible Dude, and she also throws her hand in the Mega Dude threads. She's a resident Floridian and living proof that it is actually possible to read every single comment posted on the forum. It is, of course, Aussie Mama.
Speaker: Welcome. Thank Thank you. It's great to be here. We're really excited to have you on. Thanks so much for agreeing to to be on here. and Of course. We've got a lot to get through. Let's start with a few life updates. What's everyone been doing since, oh my goodness, October?
Speaker: ah Halloween was actually the last time we recorded and ah the day of recording it's ah May 29th. So by the time this pops out, it'll be June already. ah Time is flying. So How has everyone been since we were last together? I've been doing great. i've got a few life updates. There's nothing too major exciting, but the a couple sources for headlines every so often is an amazing thing happened this morning. Absolutely amazing thing happened this morning. it In fact, it is maybe divine intervention that made this happen.
Speaker: My wife chose a countertop and we paid for it this morning. Yay, finally. is that Is that amazing or what? Can you believe it? But we have one other problem now, and she now has to choose a stain color for the new cabinets we're getting. So um so now we're just kind of back to square one and spinning on that. And that the guy building the cabinets needs to know really soon because he essentially has them all built. He's just waiting for her to choose the stain color. So that's the next challenge for us.
Speaker: You know, I really, i hesitate to tell you this, yeah but when we moved into our new house and we redid the kitchen, yeah we We did, we put in a new countertops yeah and we we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart and I saw the options and I pointed to one and said, that's the one.
Speaker: Ah, curdle. I did not know. I live in a city of a two hundred and fifty thousand ish people. And I could not have told you a couple months ago that there are about a dozen places that sell kitchen counters where I live. And a lot of very small kind of craft crafty places. And that's where she wanted to go. She didn't want to go to a big box store like in them so um So, yeah. But we finally found the place.
Speaker: And so it looks really good. it Actually, it's going to be about... $3,000 less than we budgeted for that too. so That's good. nice I'm okay with that. so yeah so yeah I'm okay with that. and I invented something. Did anybody hear what I invented?
Speaker: go ahead. I had plenty of time to invent. I'm oldies. I discovered if you take Mountain Dew and you mix it with orange vitamin water and then add in just a little bit of pineapple juice,
Speaker: It tastes really, really good. Really, really good. I call it the mega. So it's it's orange in color. And then what I also discovered is if you eat nacho cheese Doritos – And dip them in that while you eat it, you can feel the full force of the mega flows through you. It's just you're all orange. You're drinking orange. Your fingers are orange. And so just want to offer that. It's very tasty. But anybody here is you know welcome to try it. So orange vitamin water, Mountain Dew.
Speaker: If you want a little bit of pineapple juice, orange Doritos, life is good. yeah does Doesn't sound as good as Dr. Pepper, though. Well, I'm okay with Dr. Pepper too, but you know if you mix it with Dr. Pepper and that, it probably won't taste quite as good, I would dare guess. so yeah Well, no, you don't mess with Dr. Pepper. You don't make anything up with it. I agree. It stands by itself.
Speaker: No argument from me. Absolutely. man I agree. dr Dr. Pepper, I haven't had that in years. Do you guys have that over there? yeah I'm not sure we have in Belgium, actually, but we we definitely had it in the UK. I do i'll remember that. in In Texas, the rivers are full of it. You just basically just dive into a river. It's just full of Dr. Pepper. yeah yeah So one other thing, i but a school that I teach for,
Speaker: um They send me on different trips. And like last year, I got to go to Dallas and meet up some people and stuff like that. And this last year, I was in a few different cities. And they were going to send me to San Francisco in July.
Speaker: And I had bought my new waiter so I could walk down the streets and stay clean and everything. And then because of low enrollment, they canceled the class. So don't get to go to San Francisco anymore. So I'm not sure if it's good or bad. I don't know.
Speaker: san Francisco in July, that probably wouldn't have smelled so great anyway. So I wasn't prepared for that. So, but yeah, that's been the most disappointment I've had this summer, you know. Okay, so my turn. So yeah, I was trying to think, you know, it's been so long since we we got together for a podcast, though. What what all has happened between then and now, which a lot has happened. But there's one thing, one huge life event, one huge thing for humanity that has happened since we last met.
Speaker: Project Hail Mary. i' was waiting for you to say that. I knew that was coming. Yes. Oh, it is the best movie ever. It's first, first time we saw it by the time we were done. i thought i knew I knew, it was going to be somewhere in my top 10. Didn't know where ever since we saw the first time.
Speaker: All we want to do is see it a second time. Finally saw it a second time. Soon as it was over, it went straight to number one. And all I wanted to do is see it a third time. And so after we got Gizmo home from college, I took her to go see it. So I saw it a third time. Every time you see it, it gets better. She loved it too.
Speaker: So yes. If I have ever given you a public service announcement, this is one you need to pay attention to. If there's any theater near you that is still playing Project Hail Mary, go see it now.
Speaker: It is very good. Yeah, I've seen it only once. It's so good. But it is very good, yes. You only saw it once? Only once, yeah. Once, wow. Yeah, only once. I haven't seen it at all yet. Well, there you go. Yeah.
Speaker: I've been reading, you know, Kurgle's praises of it, and I'm like, you know, I definitely need to go see it, but we never go to the movies. And so it's just kind of like I thought about it, and then it was like right out of my memory again. so Yeah, but we did it was funny that day yeah that this one is worth it.
Speaker: Go buy the tickets, buy the popcorn, go all out. It's worth it. And I'm sure a lot of people know what it is about now. But when I went into it, I knew nothing. And I hate spoilers. I'm not going to say anything about it.
Speaker: know nothing. I won't say anything. Just go see like a football movie just from the title. but No, it has nothing to do with football. Oh, oh but but I will say this is how good of a movie it is. And Mr. Kergal was pretty astonished when I told him it was my favorite movie of all time.
Speaker: This movie has absolutely no love story in it. And it's still my favorite. Wow. Yeah. That's how good it is.
Speaker: There's no gay stuff in it either. so it's kind of like, oh, well. Oh, wait, wait. There wasn't any gay stuff in Slotherhouse. Slotherhouse? I was just saying, even does she like it? Oh, I saw it. My brain was still on Project Howl. Yeah. yeah there no no No gay stuff. No woke stuff. Nothing. i I don't even think there was a bad word in it.
Speaker: that's That's what I wanted to make sure everyone knew about. Well, if I may give a brief update, where do I begin? I mean, a lot's happened since our last podcast recording. I think as everyone knows by now, I guess the biggest change since we last recorded is that I'm no longer a Babylon Bee writer.
Speaker: ah So I think it was back in March, the Bee had a bit of a shakeup. And um unfortunately, I was one of several people who got let go. I guess they discovered that hiring a British person to write American satire was a bit of a risk. I'm i'm happy. I've returned to my natural habitat, which is lurking around the headline forum and... I've enjoyed getting to know some new users or some users that I hadn't noticed before. And ah since January, I've been back into teaching, which is really nice.
Speaker: As I probably explained before, I mean, Belgium does have a ah ah different education system. So in public schools, pupils can choose between different religion and ethics classes. And then the schools can bring in specialist teachers to come and teach them. So I teach Protestant Evangelical Christianity.
Speaker: So it means I get to spend my week talking about the Bible, Jesus, Christianity, ethics, and ah trying to persuade teenagers to pay attention for 30 more seconds, that sort of thing. But hopefully I don't do such a good job as putting them to sleep as Prof does.
Speaker: Well, he could teach it you try teaching American tax code. Yeah, see how that goes for you.
Speaker: But no, it's good fun. In all seriousness, I'm really enjoying it. it was ah ah When I first started, it was ah a big adjustment and it was a bit of ah a shock to the system to get back into that again after so many years. And it was also at the most miserable time of the year over here, post-Christmas, when it's really dark and miserable weather and just everyone's depressed.
Speaker: ah So it was ah a tricky time, but I persevered and it's paid off and um yeah, i'm I'm really enjoying it now. I think yeah we're we're getting to the start of the summer over here. I think you guys have firm started already over there, right?
Speaker: When is summer break in the US? It started a few weeks ago. Yeah. but My school got done about two weeks ago, two and a half weeks ago. So it's a lot, ah a lot earlier than over here. So we, we finish at the, ah the end of June. So July 1st is the first day of the summer break here. Oh, so they, they let your school out just in time for 4th of July. Nice. yeah Good deal.
Speaker: how How patriotic of them. Yeah. Well, you know, so, but yeah, things are winding down, actually. um A lot of my kids have exams coming up, so they're going to be um not attending regular classes to study and prepare for that. So really, I've just got one, maybe two weeks left, and then things really start to quieten down. So that's nice. I'm looking forward to it. And it's also the first summer break I'll have had in, I think, three three years where I won't have any exams. And it was much rejoicing.
Speaker: Yeah, I guess other than that, family-wise as well, things are going okay. My my oldest daughter ah is still with the same boyfriend. They've just celebrated their first anniversary together. I seem to be spending most of my free time as an an unpaid taxi driver. Very English. Here, there and everywhere.
Speaker: How's your dog doing? Yeah, he's doing great. He's he's lovely. um Everyone's really got used to having him around. Well, I think in August, it'll be two years since he joined us. So hey he's ah he's part of the family now. And um yeah, he's really settled in nicely, really well behaved.
Speaker: Just a lovely family dog. Just really blessed. But so yeah, otherwise, yeah, mike my my goodness, my son finishes elementary school this year. He'll head off to, well, we call it secondary school school over here. I think that would be middle school or yeah middle school so yeah lots of things happening that's it in a nutshell but um probably loads more i could go rattle on about um ozzy mama have you got anything to share with us is there anything interesting happening in your life that you'd like to share with well there is this one thing i'm a grandma now so um she was born last september
Speaker: And so she's a little over eight months old now and which is such a fun age. Oh my goodness. We are just enjoying the heck out of her. She, her little personality is just blooming and, uh,
Speaker: She's getting heavy. so that's why I'm having to wear this thing on my arm because I started developing tendinitis in my elbow from picking her up and holding her. So she's ah yeah she's quite the little chunk. But yeah, that's that's probably the the biggest, most exciting change in in my life in the last few months.
Speaker: Yeah. Congratulations. That's wonderful. yeah and I do believe um SDH recently became a grandmother as well. Yes, she did. Anyone, ah any other grand recent grandparents in the headline for him?
Speaker: Jay Kesk. Jay Kesk and his wife were first-time grandparents.
Speaker: Okay, so um as Pierre Teague said earlier, we do have a wonderful special guest. um She is pretty much the Marco Rubio of the forum. She does everything. She has so many jobs. and she She's in that she's so so sweet to talk to, so...

Speaker: I have a question though, for, for Asya mama right now. okay How did you get your American accent? I'm really impressed with it. It's really good. Isn't it good? Yeah. Worked so hard. on Yeah. Well, good job. You've done well. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. You would never, you would never know that I'm not Australian. I have a question too. Do they have Dr. Pepper in Australia?
Speaker: have no idea. Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. It's so funny because when most of you know this, but when I first joined the forum, I just used my first two initials in my real last name as my username. And about a month in, my husband was like, why did you do that? Like, you shouldn't do that. You know, and i was like, oh, okay you know, you want me to be more anonymous.
Speaker: So i started thinking, well, what I'm not very creative when it comes to usernames, obviously, which is why I went with my original one. and So i was said, well, what am I going to do? And um I looked at the little sticker on the back of my car that my daughter had gotten me for Christmas that said Aussie mom. And of course, it's got a picture of a little Australian shepherd.
Speaker: And I was like, oh, I see mamas. That's cute. I like that. Had no thought to how confusing it was going to be to people. None whatsoever. it To me, just like, oh, I have two Australian shepherds, and you know so I'm the mama. and And it has been so confusing for poor everybody the floor. Even you know people who've been around for a while, they still don't realize that I'm not Australian. So I get all sorts of questions, and I'm like, I have no idea. I've never even been to Australia. Yeah. That's one thing that I enjoy when there's um new subscribers in the forum and I see them interacting with you for like the first time and they think you're from Australia and I just sit there and chuckles like, no, she's not. I know. I know. It's so funny. And, ah you know, so like they'll ask me and you can tell they're like so genuine, like they're wanting to really know. feel so bad. I'm like, I am so sorry. I cannot help you. Just just make make stuff up.
Speaker: Yeah, exactly. I should just do that. Yeah. You should just change your name to Labradoodle Mama. That'll that'll settle it all. Yeah,
Speaker: yeah that's true. yeah I don't know. I probably would still confuse some people. but yeah so But anyway, I decided after I realized I conf confused people, I'm like, I'm not changing it again. We're just going to have to deal with it.
Speaker: So how long have you been a subscriber now for LC Mama? Uh, let's see, we are coming up on three years. It'll be three years in July, July 1st, I believe. I joined on July 1st in 2023.
Speaker: So yeah, coming up on three years. sure How did you, how did you find the bee in the forum? I'm i'm intrigued. Well, basically I was on Instagram and I would see the Babylon Bee articles that they would post on Instagram.
Speaker: That was pretty much, i wasn't doing Facebook or and and anything else. That was the only place I was seeing it. And of course, I would you know laugh at the at the headlines and and the articles. And and just you know at that time, I was just felt it was really important to support you know Christian organizations. So I said, you know i'm going to i'm going to you know join. But I had no idea, really. I thought it just was going to allow me to see more of the of the articles because I knew I was only seeing a subset. and I knew there had to have been much more than what they put on Instagram.
Speaker: So I thought, well, if I join, I'll be able to see all of their you know content. And I had no idea that there even was a subscriber forum. I guess I should have realized most, most, most places like that, you know, do have a subscriber forum, but it it didn't enter into my mind at all. So I joined and then, you know, started looking around at, you know, what I was now able to see as a, as a member. And I just kind of clicked on forum and i was like, Oh, Oh, this is pretty cool. Like,
Speaker: people are able to like, you know, write their own headlines and stuff. So I just thought, this is amazing and never even thought about writing my own, but I thought, well, and give this a try. So I started and, uh, for the longest time I was, I was like Kurgle. I was able to, to turn out for a day and I was, you know, really trying to keep it that I, those days are long gone. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time and I'm just not creative enough. Um,
Speaker: Because I never kept a, like I know a lot of people will have like a folder, you know, electronic folder of all these ideas and they'll just kind of like jot them down and then they'll come back to them. I never did that. I would be like,
Speaker: If I happened to be creative that day, you know things would would churn out, but I didn't have like a backlog of ideas. So if I'm not feeling particularly creative, which usually I'm too tired to be creative these days, I just don't post anything. Or it's just the you know the condo dudes and the Bible dudes and things like that. So I still get my points, but I'm not posting too many facts.
Speaker: you know funny headlines, put it that way. So yeah, that those drafts folders, they come in really, really nice when you have a day where you just can't think of anything.
Speaker: And I just go pick one that's been sitting there for a few months. Yeah, I actually, i when I heard a lot of people saying that they did use them, I thought, you know, that's a good idea. I should try. I just couldn't even come up with I couldn't be productive enough to even like fill up a draft folder with some, with some ones. And, ah and if I did have one that I was kind of hanging on to, because I was still tweaking it, by the time I was finally happy with it, like the event that it was referring to was too far gone. And I was like, eh, it's too late now, you know, listen so.
Speaker: i I had some like that where they just been sitting there for so long that they're no longer funny to me, but it was still a concise headline. So I had no idea what to put. So I just go ahead and post it just so I can post something. And then it's like, you know, it is new to everybody else. And so then it it, you know, it got a good reaction. is like, i don't even think that's funny anymore, but okay.
Speaker: but Some of the ones that I would consider, you know, back when I was trying to post for a day, I would have ones where I'm just like, I got to get my fourth one out. So I would just like let me call throwaway ones, you know, where I just thought this isn't even funny. It's just like not my best work. I'm just throwing it out there. And I would get like almost more interaction and and kudos on those. And I'm like, okay, that should teach me a lesson. Even if I don't think it's that great, just put it out there, you know? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I learned that a long time ago, too. Even if, you know, just if you have something, go ahead and put it out there. Because there have been ones and I, you know, and a lot of headlines I post are to a very small, specific audience. But um there have been some that I would post that I thought, Oh, this is really great. It's gonna get a lot of traction and everything. But you know, it doesn't go too far. And then there are some that I just I need to think of something's like something pops in my mind. like, okay, that's good enough. I'll just post it. And then they've been some of my most successful ones. So yeah so agree every everybody has, you know, different things that they think are funny.
Speaker: So yeah, just if you have something, and you have a headline left, post it because you never know, it might be one of those flukes where you're gonna publish or something. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Well, my one feature That was one that I didn't think it was particularly clever. it just kind of occurred to me as I was reading, you know, that portion of ah or reading the book of John where he just kept talking about the disciple that Jesus loved, you know, yeah have is it and it just, you know, it just kind of popped in my head of him singing Jesus loves me and and annoying the other disciples, you know, and but I just that was one of the ones where I thought, but well, this isn't really that funny. And I got featured. so I was like, yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah. Never know. You never know.
Speaker: I wouldn't mind talking briefly with you about second, second, jump happy that's right. Yeah. Basically when, when he started the, the, the Bible dude, I was definitely, you know, participating in that. I was, it was following along the reading plan and, um you know trying to come up with, you know, Bible related headlines based on that. And so I was just initially just posting a lot of Bible related headlines and,
Speaker: and tagging them so that, you know, he could include them in his in his post. And then he put out a feeler, um I guess it was like a year ago, January or so, saying, hey, you know, if anybody's interested in helping out, you know, that would be really great. And I said, sure, you know, I'll i'll help out. So he kind of showed me the ropes. um And I ended up starting with one day a week. And then I, once I felt like I could, you know, handle that, I said, okay, let me take another day. So I started doing two days a week.
Speaker: And then sadly, very shortly after I had started helping him out with that is when he announced everybody about his diagnosis. And my my feeling is that he probably knew maybe before he announced it to us, you know, but he was continuing to to cover the other five days a week, which was probably getting to be a little bit hard on him if he wasn't feeling great. And um so he asked if I could, you know, take over while he was, you know, pursuing his treatment. And I said, sure. And so I started doing, you know, the whole all seven days. And, um, but I just really, really thought he was going to make it. I just, I just had this feeling from the get go. He's going to beat this. He's going to beat this. You know, this is a temporary thing that I'm doing.
Speaker: I was just so confident. And, and even, you know, when I would follow up with him to see how he was doing and he would, you know, give us updates on, you know, how the treatment was going. And, you know, he was always very transparent about, you know, the good and the bad and the ugly. And and he was always such a great sense of humor about it too. He'd always kind of be poking fun at himself and, uh,
Speaker: his, uh, his body as it was, uh, struggling. Um, you know, I still just thought, you know, he's going to beat this and, um, you know, it just, it was a real gut punch. Um, you know, when he did not, um, but, uh, you know, by then I'd been doing it for a number of months, you know, cause he was, his treatment was, you know, pretty lengthy. And, um,
Speaker: So I you know kind of got you know used to it. But then things did get busy for me when my granddaughter was born because I do nanny her while my daughter works part time. So I'm you know four days a week, I'm over there watching her. And so it started to get a little crazy. And that's when I both Mitsu and reached out to Little Jedi and said, hey, we would each of us like some help. He likes you wanted some help with the big dudes. And I said, I would love to have some help with the Bible dudes. And so now I'm very blessed that Iron Sakura has has joined the Bible Duke team and he's covering three days out of the week, which is a huge help and allows to take some of the pressure off of me. But yeah, I wish second Jim Pappy was still here and that I could have handed it back to him. I still would have, you know, definitely helped out the two days a week, but I would have loved sort of giving it back to him because it was his baby and he did such a great job with it. and And there's certain things about it that I will never touch because it's like, nope, that's the way second Jim Pappy had it. And that's the way we're keeping it, you know,
Speaker: We're not going to do any updating or anything. It's like, that's, that's my, that's his legacy. And, you know, we're going to, we're going to keep things the way he did it. I'm just going to continue with on. So. Yeah. yeah that That was, it was a big loss for the forum when he passed. And I still think of him very, very often. And, you know, I feel very blessed that I was able to meet him in person during the first be live that that was great. But, yeah but yeah, I, still miss seeing him in the forum, but,
Speaker: you are so appreciated for taking that on and and taking over for him and, and continuing, you know, what he way he started and, and Iron Secura. Yeah, we we we thank you too for for helping Aussie Mama and and being a part of that. It's it's a really, really good service.

And so, you know, pretty much you put her down, you know, she's going to stay down. But there was a period of time there when she would be staying over at my house. And I'd be starting to do, you know, usually the Bible dude, because that's what I would do like right after dinner. And I would be like, Oh, she's crying. I got to jump up again. I think one time there was a record to me three hours to get the Bible dude out. I was like, okay, this is getting to do be a little bit much.
Speaker: But like I say, now she's, she's sleeping great. and I don't really have that, that issue anymore. um But, but yeah, just, just having a meal one night. I have, I think Saturday nights and,
Speaker: Wednesday nights, i because those are nights that Ayan Sikora does. He also does Friday night, but I have the mega dude on Friday night. But Saturday and Wednesday, I don't have any B obligations. And it's just like, I feel so weird. I feel like I'm forgetting something.
Speaker: Yeah, and that also it shows your commitment to the form because, yeah, you do the Bible do, Convo do, Mega do, you know, and and just ah all everything else you do, you know, when you're active in there.
Speaker: And then you had this great grandbaby come along. It would have been so easy for you to say, oh, sorry, I can't do it anymore, or I'm going to not do this one or that one.
Speaker: But you're still doing it all. And we thank you for that. Oh, well, you're welcome. You're welcome. Yeah. I mean, like I say, it's, it's great that when you do kind of start to feel like you're, you're, you know, treading water, you know, you reach out and, and, you know, God provides, you know, like I didn't know anybody was going to answer the call, but you know, I am Sakura said it was perfect timing. He had already been, you know thinking about wanting to, to be more active in the forum and and and do some things. And that it was just like perfect timing. And I was like, thank you, Lord. You know, like, that's just amazing. But I was preparing myself for the possibility that no one would respond because I know like when second Jim Pappy put out, you know, the, the, the call, I was the only one who said I would help, you know? And so what if I had said, Oh, I'm too busy with the mega dudes. I'm too busy with the convo dudes. I don't want to take on a third thing. You know, he would have been stuck, you know, still doing all seven days a week. So, you know, I, I was preparing myself for that, you know, a possibility, but it was just really nice when he was like, oh I was looking for something to do. This is perfect. was like, Hmm.
Speaker: You know, so um and that's what allows me to be able to still, you know, do the other things because he gives you that little bit little bit of a break, you know, which is really nice. so I know it's a bit of becoming a bit of a cliche to say the forum is a special place, but it's, um you just always hear that time and time again, every time we do this podcast and we have guests on, it you always come back to that same thing that the forum is a special place. Cause it is. yeah I mean, there's just no other way to say it. It's just, it is a special place. And yes you know, the, the, I know that, you know, there are people that, you know, have,
Speaker: currently taking some breaks, you know, for obviously very, very valid, good reasons, you know, but I, whenever I think about, you know, should I do that? It just, it's just like, no, I can't, I can't do that. I'm just gonna, you know, we're just gonna keep plugging along. I mean, obviously, if something were to really, you know, you know, drastic happen, I i might have to step back, but it would be very hard. It'd be very sad, you know, to do that. So, I'm grateful that, you know, I have been able to, you know, find find the time to to, you know, continue the the volunteer you know efforts and stuff. I do feel that. I know I'm not nearly as active as I was when I first joined. I mean, I was probably a little too active when I first joined. But I didn't have a whole lot going on in my life at that time, you know, so I had the time. um
Speaker: to spend on on here and and forge those friendships and and everything. Now, you know, I just don't have the time. So I feel I'm so grateful to Little Jedi. All his amazing tools that he comes up with, like they are so helpful to me. I mean, in addition to just making the things like the Mega Dudes and the Bible Dudes and the Comma Dudes so much more streamlined and and quicker to do. um But just like this most recent one that he did, the Double Duder,
Speaker: That has been a game changer for me because I was really struggling even keeping up with the every every night's mega dude, you know, reading through it and, you know, dude-ing everybody's headlines. I just was struggling and i was falling farther farther behind. And I fall back because I'm like, yeah, I'm doing all these, you know, posts, but I'm not reading other people's headlines, you know. And um that was before I was able to at least, you know, get the ones that had been mega dude. And I felt like, okay, at least I'm keeping up with those. I wasn't even doing that, but there's just something about this double duder things. I've given tried it. I highly recommend you try it. um It just seems faster to me to be able to go through and, and you know, process through a mega dude. And so that i I feel like I'm not completely ignoring everybody's headlines. um I mean, obviously the Bible related headlines, you know, I'm, I'm seeing, you know,
Speaker: Multiple nights a week, but the the regular headlines I just don't have the time to go through and just read headlines like I used to which you know makes me sad because I know I'm missing so many I told her I said I'm so sad I don't get to read all your headlines because I mean she just makes me laugh so hard with her headlines and so you know I used to keep up with them pretty good and now I'm like struggling to you know keep up with all your funny headlines but um But there's so many talented people on the forum and I'm like, oh, I'm sad that I'm missing out on on some of these you know funny ones. So thankfully, I'm able to at least start keeping up with the mega dudes every night again. um

So it's actually possible for users to...
Speaker: write down a whole load of headlines in some sort of a drafts folder that others can't see. It's private to them. and And also I was wondering whether it would be interesting to schedule your headlines. So for example, ah you don't you don't have time ah to keep logging in today, but you've got your four headlines already.
Speaker: and you line them up to to post at certain times during the day, so you're not dumping them all in the same in the same time. What are our thoughts, Ella? I definitely like the scheduling idea.
Speaker: i just wouldn't want it to be too automated and lose that personal touch. Can we come up with this artificial intelligence that if you gave it a prompt, it would come up with the headline for you? Could we have Dan invent that for us too?
Speaker: That is possible. Oh, cool. you know that the the The drafts folder idea is very interesting because you know you you can have your notepad and jot stuff down or keep it on your phone or something. But even any headline, once you like copy and paste it from your notepad on your phone to the forum and you post it,
Speaker: and you see it as a headline, just seeing how it looks, it it you know it makes a difference. So if you could see your drafts folder in that same format and everything. I agree completely. Yes, know exactly what you're talking about. That has happened to me so many times where I'll, umll because I use the notepad, you know, also our notes or whatever it's called in Apple, um to to to write down all my headlines, keep track of what date I post them and stuff. um I use pencil and paper. It's crazy. Do you? yeah my goodness. Okay, Boomer. See, what with with when I said notepad, I meant a notepad. Yeah, I got a real notepad right here.
Speaker: I don't write it down, pencil and paper. I use notes. Kugel, you said when I copy my headline from my notepad. Well, at that point, I was talking about the notepad on my phone.
Speaker: okay You can see all confusion. Well, well yeah you have to pay more attention. The first part of what I was saying, i was talking about a literal notepad.
Speaker: But then I was talking about the notepad on my phone.
Speaker: Tease, you've been married long enough that you should know when a woman changes the topic just slightly and pick up on it. You should have that figured out by now. but Yes, no, I definitely like that idea of of a drafts folder. And then yeah once you're like happy with it, being able to say, post this at 2 p.m. Eastern time or whatever. yeah that That would also be good just for like spell checking because there have been, you know I think everybody does this, but there been times you look at it and you look at it you look at it. Okay, everything's spelled correctly. The second you post it and you see it is like glaring.
Speaker: Yeah, I had that recently. Somebody commented and I fixed it. Yeah. Usually it's me, right? Well, it used to be me. I'm too busy now. Yeah, forget who did this for me.
Speaker: Yeah, somebody did this for me. Yeah, exactly. One of my pet peeves is when somebody writes a headline in in all lowercase. and They don't capitalize the first letter of each new word. And usually the forum will do that for you automatically, unless the letter in question follows a dash or a quotation mark or something. yeah Yeah, exactly. And then I see a lowercase and I'm like the
Speaker: like, ah! SDH loses a year of her life every time you do that. So don't do that. But she also loses a year of her life when you only use one space after a period.
Speaker: Yes, correct. That's because we old folks, were we were trained two spaces. Exactly. i remember that in taking class. Yeah, yeah that that's what we were taught. Yeah, yeah exactly.
Speaker: Maybe we should also try and set up, I don't know what you'd call it, maybe a grammar dude. Oh, yeah. know if you spot bad grammar in someone's headline. Ringing the shame. Shame. yeah ah Shame, I'm not sure that's a good idea or not. it's Punctuation. du If you see a headline that has a misspelled word or period or something in it, just put GrammarDute in the comments. And then whoever is nice enough to take it on every evening, they will post a GrammarDute post with all the worst punctuated and misspelled headlines of the day.
Speaker: Oh, that won't tick people off at all. No. Yeah. I won't sign up for that one. As much as it might seem like it's right up my alley, I don't don't think I won't have people mad at me.
Speaker: but that that That would be like getting someone to volunteer for VBS. Yeah, right. Good luck with that. Well, let's talk next about BeLive. I will not be there, which will make sure that it'll actually be a better experience because I won't be there. But nonetheless, um we want to hear some details and updates regarding the upcoming BeLive at the ARC Encounter, which I have been to, and I've been to the Creation Museum, and they're both worth going to, even with with or without other BePeople. BeLive is going, once again, going to be the event of the year.

Because what it is if if you haven't been there before, theres there's a big parking lot and then there's shuttles that take you to the actual ark. So we're going to meet in the the parking lot and then we take a shuttle to the welcome center.
Speaker: there There is food being provided if you you have not um ordered your food yet. They have actually extended the deadline. So as long as you let Fernhilda know by June 19th, you're good. and you can You can get some food. You won't go hungry.
Speaker: And the the actual the deadline to to get the ticket with the special group rate is June fifth So if you haven't gotten a ticket, you still want to go. Or if you have any other questions at all, reach out to Vernhilda. She has been so wonderful organizing this, getting it all together. Speaker: have been saying for years now that we've been wanting to go to the ARC, you know, encounter in the Creation Museum. So this was just perfect. i was like, well, you know, we're going to make this happen for sure. So, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. It is going to be be so great. um You know, we we get we talk to each other. We get to know each other so much in the forum. um You know, there's special occasions like today where we get to see each other online and actually talk to each other, see what we look like and everything. But there's something different about just seeing each other in person and hanging out.
Speaker: you're you're You're going to love it. Yeah, I know. i'm so excited. I would have loved have been at the one last year, though, because it sounds like it was just really relaxed. People just sitting around playing games. And i mean, like I was like, that would have been right up my alley. yeah I mean, I'm looking forward to this. It was fun. A little more structured, obviously, being at the Ark as opposed to just hanging out in ah in a fellowship hall, you know. But yeah, I would have absolutely loved just getting to hang out and visit and play games and sing songs. And, you know, I'm sure that was a blast.
Speaker: Yeah, it was. This one will be a blast too. And so then I'm already wondering, okay, the next summer, where is it going to be? Yeah. Well, do you remember right after I joined the forums, and this is going back in the summer of 23, there was something in the news about a kind of like an Americana themed park that was going in, I want to say like in Oklahoma or it somewhere, you know, in the Midwest there. um Like there's supposed to be like heritage Heritage Park or I don't know. Has anybody heard anything more about that theme park? I mean, I can Google it. Yeah, it sounds vaguely familiar, but I, you know, I haven't heard anything about it.
Speaker: But, I mean, if it's still being worked on and is, you know closer to maybe being, you know, ready to open, sounds like it was going to be a really cool place, you know. So if, you know, something to look into anyway, just to see if that even is a real thing still. But that would be kind of, you know, fun to to hit that because it was supposed to be like, you know kind of a conservative's ah playground.
Speaker: Yeah, that sounds good. Did you guys hear the the news about the Ark Encounter? They're opening a dog park right next to It's going to be called the Bark Encounter. Of course it is. Might have made that up. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe.

Speaker: Well, it is that time of the podcast again where we get to ask some questions to our guest. And Kurgle earlier this week posted a headline with some questions.
Speaker: And you did not disappoint. There were a lot of questions, mostly about this mystical place called Australia. where we think we think possibly Aussie Mama is from. We don't really know for sure. We kind of think this American accent is kind of a show, but it's that's what's what I think anyway.
Speaker: So anyway, so it's time for those questions. Let's go ahead and ask a few. I'd just like to say straight up that one of the first things I saw logging back in to the comment thread is a wonderful GIF that says, get out. What are you doing here? From GFansom.com. It's one of my favorite gifts too. I love that gift.
Speaker: Yeah, it's great. I use that as well.
Speaker: All right. So this one is from the Catman. At what age do you plan to introduce your granddaughter to Disney World? yeah um Already done.
Speaker: we took her to Epcot back in March and she was about six months old. And we had a great time. She was such a trooper. She didn't cry the whole day. it was wonderful. of course, the weather was a little cooler at the time, so that helped. um But yeah, we just had it we had a fantastic time. So she got to got to see Epcot, not that she'll remember any of it, of course. um But she loved looking around at all the people and she just was mesmerized by a number of the rides that she was able to go on. She just you could tell she was really into it. So that was fun. And then a few weeks ago, my daughter and I took her to the Magic Kingdom. um And that trip, it was it was really hot. It was 94 degrees.
Speaker: It was crowded. um She was a lot more sleepy. this time around. So she didn't seem to enjoy it quite as much. Um, and we were all pretty miserable. My daughter and i were miserable cause it was so hot. Um, but it was still fun. i mean, and we still got to, I hadn't been in the magic kingdom in years.
Speaker: So, um, you know, it was, it was neat, but, uh, yeah, we, uh, When on the Epcot trip, my daughter convinced me to upgrade our one day tickets to passes. And so now we have passes for the for the next year. so in order to get our money's worth, we plan to go quite a few more times between now and the end of the year. um So for as I was telling Katmian, Avery's probably going to be sick of Disney by the time she's 18
Speaker: But hopefully not. Hopefully we'll see enough different things each time we go that it'll it'll you know not seem like the same, same old thing. OK, I have a question from the wonderful Murph.
Speaker: What is your favorite Avery story to share? ah Yes, I love that question because I cause i love talking about Avery. Yeah. um But um these two, this is like a two part story to answer her question. It happened the same day.
Speaker: um The first one, i had already said to my daughter like a few weeks few days before, I said, you know i'm already starting to see she's got a really good sense of humor. And so I think so too. And um so anyway, she was sitting in her little bouncy seat and I was trying to you know give her her bottle and she was fixated straight ahead on on something.
Speaker: And she was just looking straight at. She wasn't, I was off to her side. She wasn't looking at me. i was trying to get her to drink bottles. She was kind of ignoring me. So I just, I wasn't even thinking it about it. i just kind of like started like tapping her on the lips with with the bottle nipple. Kind of like an annoying person might like tap you on the shoulder over and over, you know, to get your attention. And she's ignoring me. She's looking straight ahead.
Speaker: And I'm just and I just keep time. And all of a sudden she just gets this grin on her face like she knew that I was being annoying. Yeah. And she just got this grin like almost like, I know what you're doing, grandma. you know And that of course that made me bust out laughing. Well then she busted out with a belly laugh and then we were both just laughing like crazy. And you know to me that was just, it was just so precious because you know her little mind, she just she knew you know that i was I was being annoying on on purpose and she just eventually like, she couldn't take it anymore and she had to she had to smile and it was it was hilarious. And then just a little bit later,
Speaker: We were in her playpen. She was playing in her playpen. And she's she has these little squares. They're little material, but they're crinkly and they've got different you know textures on them. And you know they're just no good sensory you know type little toys. And this is one that has a koala on it. you know Because, of course, even though i'm not from Australia, I do love koalas. So it has a koala on it. and ah And it has a little teething ring on one corner for them to to chew on and stuff. And she loves it. And it happened to be, you know, kind of on the floor of the playpen. And she was doing her little at that point. She was still just kind of rolling around to get from point A to point B. She wasn't crawling yet. And she but she was working on sitting, sitting herself up, getting from a laying down to sitting up. So she sat up and she was sitting on this thing. And you put the little ring that was on the corner was kind of sticking out where she could see. And she she looked down and she saw the ring and she went to go reach it and like to to grab it. Well, of course, she's sitting on the thing. So it's not going to come up.
Speaker: So it's she's pulling and nothing's happening. And she stops and she looks at the ring. And then I kid you not, she picks her butt up, moves her butt off of the thing and then picks up the thing and starts chewing on And I was just like blown away. i was like, are you kidding me You're eight months old and you figured out, oh, I'm sitting on it. Let me move my butt so I can get it.
Speaker: but I just was like, and i just I love that. I was like, oh my gosh, kid, you are going to be a handful to keep up with if you're already that smart. Okay. Well, I've got a question for you from 10tonbp.
Speaker: What sorts of civic pranks have you and your nearish neighbors, Mitsu and Priel, most recently pulled on the unwitting citizens of Florida? He's so funny. ah Speaking of him, ah they actually, he came down to, to i think he had a funeral to go to, which was sad, but um he wanted to get together with with all of us, Mitsu and P-Real and me and Unfortunately, it was right around the time that my daughter was close to to giving birth and I just didn't feel comfortable you know even going down to the next you know city, which is where they were going to get together. um so I didn't get to join, but he was sweet enough on his way after meeting and having lunch with him, he had to keep coming up my way. And so he stopped and swung by my house and we had a nice visit. So that was really cool. um
Speaker: But I missed not being able to see Vitsu and be real again. But she and I got together just a couple weeks ago, um and, uh, had a nice lunch and visited for a couple of hours. So it's been a while since I've seen Mitsu in person, unfortunately, but, uh, but yeah, no, we, uh, she's been so busy. Um, you know, you probably noticed she's not quite as active on the forum as she you know used to be because her work is just keeping crazy busy. But, uh, so she's been too busy to to be up to too many pranks and, uh, um,
Speaker: But if she weren't so busy, I think she'd she'd be the one probably pulling the pranks. She and Mitsu probably would be the ones pulling the pranks. I'd probably just be the one you know driving the getaway car or something.
Speaker: Okay. I have one from Murph. She says, we appreciate Aussie Mama carrying on Second Gen Pappy's Bible Duke legacy. Is there a Second Gen Pappy testimony from their final talk she could pass along?
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. And the only time I think I ever really spoke to him was like on People Rejoices that, that you know, we would both be attending for a celebration thing. But then when he was first showing me the ropes of how to do the Bible dudes, I think we did get on a Zoom meeting so that he could, know, was more easy for him to show me, show me the ropes. But then once I found out about his his cancer, pretty much it was through email because I didn't want to bother him. I mean, a lot of times I'd be like, oh, I haven't seen him on the form and I'd be curious, but i was like, I don't want to bother him. I know he's you know not feeling well and he's probably really busy and tired. and So I tried not to be a pest, but you know if too much time went by, i be like, okay, I need to know you know how he's doing. So I would email him and within a day or two, you know he he would get back with me. And he was, like I said, he was always so so transparent, so... um
Speaker: funny, really. I mean, I just can't imagine, you know, going through that and and still having a sense of humor. I mean, that was just so impressive to me um because, you know, I know how, you know, I can get when I just have a bad cold, like I'm grumpy and, you know, like I don't want to talk to anybody and, you know, I'm just not a fun person to be around. The last thing I am is funny, um cracking jokes and stuff. And so, you know, here he is going through leukemia treatment and, um You know, he was just like, you know, poking fun at himself and and just being so and I just really it really struck me that, that you know he must have a tremendous faith, you know, to be able to stay.
Speaker: that calm and then and gracious and and funny, you know even through you know what he was going through. and I think i when I was answering the question prematurely, you know i said it it showed me that you know his faith was really genuine because he could poke fun at his mortal body because he knew that he had a perfect immortal one waiting for him, you know, and, ah and that really, that really resonated with me, because, you know, you always want to think that if you're ever in a similar situation, that you're going to handle it with grace, and, you know, you're going to be the the patient in the hospital that, that, you know, nurse is all like, you know, they're so, they're still so nice and so kind, but you don't know until you get there, you know, whether you're going to be someone who handles it well, or whether you're goingnna be someone who's, just pain in the butt you know um so i i just hope that i would have that same level of confidence you know of where i'm going that even if the lord chooses not to heal me um you know that i would still be able to you know go through the process so as as graciously as and as he did so i've got one from 10 ton bp
Speaker: As the presently chief operating officer of the Bible Duke, with which Bible character do you most identify or which one do you hope to be the most like?
Speaker: So, you know, of course, the standard response would be like, you know, Paul or, you know, David or, you know, yeah believe it or not. the one that at this point in my life right now that I identify most with this, do you remember that parable that Jesus told about the two sons? And he said to the one son, go out and work into the, work in the field or whatever, wife whatever it was. And the one said, said, no, I'm not going to go. But then he, you know, changed his mind and went. And then the other one said, Oh, I'll go. But then he never did. He asked the question, well which one, you know, which one, you know, was obedient and, Of course, it was the first one. I i feel like the one that was like, that says, no, I won't go.
Speaker: But then I go ahead and do it anyway, because um I got a lot on my plate right now. And, um you know, sometimes I feel like my attitude isn't so great about doing what I need to do. um But, you know, I still do it And I just, so I'm thankful for that parable because it kind of like helps me to be like, okay, as long as I,
Speaker: yeah Obviously, attitude is good. i I wish I had a better attitude. But it it kind of shows me that the main thing is do it. You know, you don't always have to love it at the moment or or be smiling necessarily while you're doing it, but still be obedient. You know, do what the Lord asks you to do. And then hopefully the good attitude will follow, you know. um But yeah, so it's kind of a weird answer, but that's what I'm identifying with the most right now. It's the guy in that family.

Speaker: but Well, before we wrap things up, it's time for a very special segment. If you've been around the forum for any length of time, you might be familiar with the wonderful Duke cast. It has been a while since that podcast has has graced our ears.
Speaker: I know the wonderful husband and wife team, Nicholas, have been taking a bit of a break from the forum to focus on other things. So do keep them in your prayers. And we just wanted to, as a nod to them, we wanted to keep the Duke cast going here.
Speaker: And one of the cool things they used to do every week was to give some updates from the forum, some interesting news, and then to read out some ah some popular headlines. So we thought we'd read one or two pages from the most popular headlines from the last 30 days. And Kurgle, I believe you've got some, maybe you've got some updates from the forum as well that you could share with us.
Speaker: Everything's just been going along pretty smoothly. of course, there there have been the updates. um Everybody knows, you know, the different bugs and everything that we we work through. But as always, Bee Support took care of the bugs. They're really great at doing that. And, you know, change can be hard. Not everybody likes change. But every single time Bee Support has made upgrades to the website, it just gets better and better. So thank you to them.
Speaker: Yeah, there's for for anyone who's kind of new, um or you you just haven't been on recently, There's so many things going on. We still have the Megadute crew working, the Convo Dudes, Bible Dudes, Pic Dudes that you know we've we've talked about today. DJNugget83, he has his weekly gossip post.
Speaker: Oh, no I'm sorry, prayer request post. um he he he he He posts that almost every week. and So if you are in need of prayer, there are so many great people in the forum who just pray, pray, and pray. Or if you want to pray for others, check out his post.
Speaker: There is still the Daily Bevotionals by Jake Hesk. If you haven't been following him, I would suggest you do that. And there's just so many people out there. You know, we talked a lot about the Bible Do Post.
Speaker: So many posts real regularly, just something, whether it's something funny or something to encourage people, Bible-related content.
Speaker: SDChuck22 is another example. He's been doing a lot of commentaries and even ah making posting videos of his own music. And so that that has been really, really cool to see.
Speaker: SDH still posts um a headline linking to the Not The Beat article where she features the top headlines of the week. And then of course you never know what little jedi is going to come up with next some Some some new feature to just make everything easier. so um, if if you haven't spent a long time just enjoying the forum, I really ah Encourage you to do so. Uh, and then we've also had some pretty good celebrations. I started keeping better track since the beginning of the year when each person gets their, their, their big day. So in January ah for 5 million celebrations, we had NJ Hokie 84, try Jim three and slate slab rock in February, SD Chuck 22 and BNY 61 hit 5 million in March. FL max hit 5 million. And then the cat man hit the big 25 million.
Speaker: And then here recently in in May, we had the Raider. So, you know, we go through periods where it seems like there's just constantly celebrations. And then ah more recently, it's it's been a little quieter, you know, there's always going to be someone up coming up soon with the celebration. So if... if You haven't been um too active with those in the past. I encourage you to do so because it's just such an uplifting day, such such a special day where we get to just you know celebrate someone's success and and all their talent.
