Speaker: All right, all right, folks, gather around because you're about to hear something tremendous.

Speaker: You've heard of great podcasts, right?

Speaker: But this one, this is different.

Speaker: This is We The People.

Speaker: Let me tell you, it's going to be huge.

Speaker: Bigger than anything you've ever heard, believe me.

Speaker: You know, I don't do small things, folks.

Speaker: Only the best, the biggest.

Speaker: Now some people said, Orange Man Bad, how are you going to do it again?

Speaker: How are you going to win a second term?

Speaker: And I said, watch me.

Speaker: And guess what?

Speaker: I did it.

Speaker: Second term, it's happening, folks.

Speaker: It's going to be the greatest, the most fantastic second term ever.

Speaker: Bigger rallies, bigger crowds, and a lot of winning.

Speaker: Just like this podcast.

Speaker: You're going to win.

Speaker: You're going to laugh.

Speaker: You're going to be so entertained you won't even know what hit you.

Speaker: It's going to be tremendous, folks.

Speaker: So buckle up because this is your second term of comedy greatness.

Speaker: We the people.

Speaker: We are back.

Speaker: My goodness me, it's been a very long time.

Speaker: The first podcast, We The People of 2025 and the first one since, oh my word, August.

Speaker: This is shameful, but we are back.

Speaker: Just on a long pause, but we're back and hopefully we can crack out a few more of these.

Speaker: over the course of the next few months, if time allows.

Speaker: And I'm back this time, not just with one, but with two co-hosts.

Speaker: I'm very excited.

Speaker: So it's great to have the wonderful Kurgle with me today.

Speaker: And also, a big round of applause, who wasn't with us last time, it's Dr. Conservative Prof. How are you guys doing?

Speaker: Good.

Speaker: Very glad to be back.

Speaker: Doing very well in a snow-free South Dakota.

Speaker: Ha!

Speaker: Yeah, we don't have any snow either.

Speaker: Southerners.

Speaker: Florida.

Speaker: It has been very cold, though.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It has been cold.

Speaker: In the negatives.

Speaker: So if it's going to be cold, we should have snow to show for it.

Speaker: I would like to say there is one really, really big change since the last time we recorded an episode.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Biden's no longer president.

Speaker: Now we have President Trump.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Yay.

Speaker: I'm so excited.

Speaker: He's not even my president.

Speaker: I'm just, I'm loving all of the...

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: And I think it's so funny watching over here in the media, because what the media do over here, as I'm sure is the case over there, they take something remotely, loosely related to Trump

Speaker: They twist it in a certain way where it's completely taken out of context.

Speaker: Then they'll take a photo which is out of context.

Speaker: And it's just hilarious watching all of the comments from ignorant Europeans who have no real idea what's going on over there.

Speaker: And especially with the whole Elon Musk Nazi salute thing, it's just... I've just had my popcorn going on constantly the last few days on social media.

Speaker: Yeah, it's going to be interesting.

Speaker: And, you know, I think, okay, well, what are we going to joke about now that Biden's not in power and Kamala's now not there?

Speaker: But I always remember something that Rush Limbaugh always said, when Democrats are out of power, they're even crazier.

Speaker: So there's going to be plenty, plenty, plenty of headline material.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I haven't been watching MSNBC or CNN, so I know I'm seeing pretty much just one side of it.

Speaker: But it seems like there's just throughout the whole country, everyone just is like this big relief, this big, everyone's refreshed, everyone's excited.

Speaker: Yes, we are excited.

Speaker: We've just been winning so much since Monday afternoon that we're exhausted from all the winnings.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm tired.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: There can be too much winning at once.

Speaker: But yeah.

Speaker: I saw a post earlier today from Ben Shapiro and he said, President Trump lied to me.

Speaker: He promised me I'd be tired from all the winnings.

Speaker: I'm not tired.

Speaker: I want more winning.

Speaker: It's going to be a good four years.

Speaker: You know, and I was watching, I know all the things he said during the campaign and I was watching his inauguration speech.

Speaker: If he actually does the things that he said he's going to do, it's going to be pretty amazing.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Well, I just want to say hello to anyone who's listening to this podcast for the very first time, because we have had loads of, I assume we've had loads of new subscribers today.

Speaker: hit the forum over the last few months and even over the last year, who I may not know personally too much about.

Speaker: For those of you that don't know me, my user handle is pureteach.

Speaker: And as you can hear, I'm not from the US.

Speaker: I hail from a wonderful little country called the United Kingdom, but I live in Belgium.

Speaker: I've been over here

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm just having a look now.

Speaker: When was the first episode?

Speaker: We haven't had that many.

Speaker: We're not like Nicholas's weekly podcast, but the first one was 2022.

Speaker: My goodness.

Speaker: So that'll be two and a half years ago already.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: So the idea of that, I think initially, and we've talked about this in other podcasts, we just wanted to get a whole load of subscribers together.

Speaker: We packed in on a Zoom call and we just hit record and thought, you know, let's see what happens.

Speaker: And We The Beeple was birthed from that, really, just to get to know the community better.

Speaker: We tried at the time to interview you, the listener, and get to know who's the people behind the usernames and the headlines.

Speaker: And as I say, it's been a tough 12 months for all three of us, I think.

Speaker: We've all had various things going on in our lives.

Speaker: But we're still here.

Speaker: We've not given up on you.

Speaker: We just took a, what's the right word, a hatess?

Speaker: A hiatus?

Speaker: A hiatus.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I don't hate us.

Speaker: I don't hate us.

Speaker: I took the hiatus.

Speaker: But we are back.

Speaker: We are here and we're excited to, yeah, we don't have a guest today, but we just thought it would be nice to just let everyone listen in to us catching up a bit, talking about what's been going on since we've last recorded an episode.

Speaker: I think all three of us have had some major changes in our lives.

Speaker: And yeah, we've got some questions, I think, as well from the community as well that we'll try and get around to later on here.

Speaker: Yeah, definitely.

Speaker: Looking forward to it.

Speaker: So Prof, I think the last time you were with us, if I'm not mistaken, was the interview we had with Alolu Raichu, which you can go back into the archives and listen to.

Speaker: That was from May 11th.

Speaker: That's a long time from May until today.

Speaker: So I think you've had quite a crazy few months, haven't you?

Speaker: What's been going on with you since you were last on with the Beeple?

Speaker: I've been playing the career juggle.

Speaker: It's been quite the journey for me.

Speaker: So I had to make the decision to leave the full-time school that I was at for a variety of reasons.

Speaker: I left pay and culture were a couple of those.

Speaker: I don't want to get into the details.

Speaker: So I was kind of forced to consider some alternatives.

Speaker: And so I took a job at a bank.

Speaker: in late summer and did that through the end of the year.

Speaker: You know, it's kind of funny at the time, I had three job offers last summer for me to take.

Speaker: And one I was a definite no.

Speaker: One was a maybe, the other one was a probably.

Speaker: So I took the probably.

Speaker: And I knew it was the right thing for me to do at the time.

Speaker: It's kind of funny how the timing always works out, which is really God's timing.

Speaker: It was okay.

Speaker: I mean, I liked it.

Speaker: But I do believe I was there for a reason.

Speaker: I know that I was.

Speaker: I'm not sure what that reason is.

Speaker: But I know I was there for a good reason.

Speaker: But in the fall semester, I was just like I said, God's timing and God's blessings are pretty amazing.

Speaker: But I was able to land adjunct teaching contracts.

Speaker: So basically part time teaching contracts with nine different schools.

Speaker: So it was just quite amazing how it all turned out.

Speaker: And so about the end of November, early December, I'm looking at what I have lined up to start teaching in January and went to my wife and said, you know, I have enough here to more than replace the income I'll make at the bank.

Speaker: And so are you on board with this?

Speaker: Let's talk about this.

Speaker: And she was she was very OK with that.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: some amazing schools too so um three of the schools um just were are very strong faith-based schools that i'm teaching for online a state school in south dakota where i'm at just through a a contact that i have we both serve on a board together and one day back in november we're on the board meeting and talking about a few things and all of a sudden

Speaker: We started talking about what we're up to.

Speaker: And I said, I'm no longer at the school I was at.

Speaker: And she's like, well, and I knew her.

Speaker: I've known her for a long time.

Speaker: Well, I bet you can come work for my school.

Speaker: And the next day I was talking to their dean of business.

Speaker: And so it was just very fortuitous.

Speaker: And I believe that God had a plan for me.

Speaker: So I'm back to doing what I really love and enjoy.

Speaker: The third job offer that I didn't take, the one that I thought was,

Speaker: was a maybe, was a very small accounting firm.

Speaker: I approached them.

Speaker: They approached me.

Speaker: It was kind of a combination thing.

Speaker: Like they're on my mind.

Speaker: I was on their mind, what I realized afterwards.

Speaker: And so I am also working part time for them and just on a very flexible basis.

Speaker: So which really, really enjoying that.

Speaker: So I'm really using my CPA again.

Speaker: I was not at the bank.

Speaker: So I've got a ton of flexibility in my schedule, which is what I really enjoy.

Speaker: And that's what my wife enjoys for me having also instead of the eight to five grind.

Speaker: So I really enjoy that part of it and having a good time with it.

Speaker: And then one of the schools that I teach for, the way they do it is it's a graduate class.

Speaker: It's a full semester MBA class.

Speaker: But then once during the term, I meet with the students in person.

Speaker: And this class has about a dozen people and they're sending me and the students on, I think have to get there on their own dime to Washington, D.C.

Speaker: So I'm going to be in Washington, D.C.

Speaker: for a weekend in early March, like March 9th, I want to say.

Speaker: So I will just put it out there for anybody who's on the B who lives in the area.

Speaker: If you want to do a meetup, I'll have some free time.

Speaker: I don't have a ton, but I would say.

Speaker: Have some on a Thursday and a Sunday.

Speaker: Have some free time.

Speaker: So I would throw that out there.

Speaker: And if anybody is interested in meeting me out there, let me know.

Speaker: Just tag me somewhere in a headline or something like that.

Speaker: And then I got to meet two bees, three bees.

Speaker: Actually, I got to meet three bees here in the last few months.

Speaker: So back in August, I got to meet the fantastic Kurgle and her family.

Speaker: So Kurgle, Gizmo and Mr. Kurgle and then a boyfriend who is no longer a boyfriend.

Speaker: So we're not even going to mention him.

Speaker: He is actually he's buried in the backyard of the house right now is where he's at.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: Yeah, that's why we had to move.

Speaker: That's why they had to move.

Speaker: Uh-oh, we got to move now.

Speaker: No, to clarify, I do not have any bodies buried in my backyard.

Speaker: Are you sure?

Speaker: Yes, I'm sure.

Speaker: Gizmo is fine.

Speaker: Timing just didn't work out, but she and her first boyfriend are friends, and she has met someone else now, so she's happy.

Speaker: No bodies in the yard.

Speaker: Anyway, and so I got to meet them.

Speaker: And then in December of this year, 10 ton BP, the one and only 10 ton BP has Ritz in South Dakota and went through the state and we had to.

Speaker: Got to have lunch together for an hour or so one day.

Speaker: So back in December.

Speaker: So that was a lot of fun to get to meet him.

Speaker: So I've got to meet a couple of bees in person.

Speaker: That's been outstanding and fantastic.

Speaker: But hopefully it wasn't all too boring.

Speaker: It was a lot of fun when we got to meet you.

Speaker: But we do have to get together some other time for longer so we can actually talk more.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: That was a very quick trip.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Well, you heard it here first, folks.

Speaker: You have an opportunity to win some time with the infamous Dr. Conservative Prof. You do.

Speaker: We should lead with this.

Speaker: This should be our podcast episode.

Speaker: It'd be great to meet somebody who knows the D.C.

Speaker: area because they could show me around.

Speaker: Like, there's some things I would love to see, you know, and I want to investigate a mystery while I'm there.

Speaker: Do you know what the mystery is?

Speaker: I mean, I'm all ears.

Speaker: Tell me.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: Who was running the country for the last four years?

Speaker: Because it wasn't Joe.

Speaker: That's what I want to figure out.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't think so.

Speaker: That's one of my goals.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It wasn't Kamala either, was it?

Speaker: Let's be honest.

Speaker: No, it wasn't.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: You know, it's funny.

Speaker: As the former border czar, she didn't know how to fix the border, but Trump has done it like in three days.

Speaker: I mean, I just saw a news blurb that border crossings are down 30 some percent.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The first Marine division's now been deployed down to the border.

Speaker: It's like, hmm.

Speaker: Yeah, and I saw some news coverage last night or the night before that just in the cities that is already ramped up that they're tracking people down.

Speaker: It makes me wonder if they really weren't trying.

Speaker: Hmm, do you think?

Speaker: Yeah, okay.

Speaker: Maybe not.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: We just said we're trying, but we didn't really do anything.

Speaker: Maybe that's how that worked.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: I saw something on X as well.

Speaker: Like I think it was, was it in Texas?

Speaker: Someone was filming with their phone on a bridge and there was just a huge line of tanks being taken down to the border.

Speaker: Just absolutely incredible.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: And you're just looking at this and you're like, this is leadership.

Speaker: This is what it's supposed to be.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: So it's so exciting.

Speaker: And even though I'm all the way over here in Europe, those of us here on the right side of history understand that this will only have positive implications for the rest of the globe.

Speaker: So very excited by all of this.

Speaker: It was a lot of fun watching him sign all those executive orders.

Speaker: You know, it was interesting because I pretty much watched the whole Monday.

Speaker: I mean, I was just glued to my TV, right?

Speaker: And it was so interesting that he's in the Oval Office signing those and just having conversations with reporters while he's signing those.

Speaker: And I was just thinking of how starkly different –

Speaker: That was from the last four years where Biden, they never would have allowed Biden to be in the Oval Office with a bunch of reporters like that because who knows what he would have said or stumbled over, you know, the sound bites we'd get out of that of him tripping over himself literally and figuratively, you know.

Speaker: So it was really amazing to see that and just see Trump have almost multiple conversations at the same time while signing these documents.

Speaker: So it was pretty cool.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, I had the TV on all day and evening too.

Speaker: I was watching the whole thing.

Speaker: And yeah, there's so much difference.

Speaker: And it just seemed the whole day like he was really just genuinely enjoying himself and like he knew exactly what he was doing.

Speaker: Oh, exactly.

Speaker: Exactly right.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Just seeing that and then seeing that he freed the J6ers.

Speaker: That was great.

Speaker: That was awesome.

Speaker: He freed the pro-life folks that were unjustly jailed.

Speaker: That was not done Monday, but it was just done here the last couple of days.

Speaker: Yeah, I heard that this morning.

Speaker: But then during his inauguration speech when he said it's now the policy of the federal government that there are only two genders –

Speaker: Yes, correct.

Speaker: Oh, and Kurgle, Teej and I have some very bad news.

Speaker: I'm really sorry to have to report this, but because of one of Trump's executive orders, we're going to have to let you go.

Speaker: We no longer believe in diversity or inclusion.

Speaker: It's just a white male society from now on.

Speaker: So I'm sorry that you're out.

Speaker: So when Trump said he wanted to get rid of DEI, he was serious.

Speaker: Yeah, he really meant it.

Speaker: So Tisha and I have taken that pretty personally.

Speaker: Like, okay, that just means Kurgle's out.

Speaker: And Mr. Kurgle's more than welcome to be a part of the podcast in your place.

Speaker: We're okay with that.

Speaker: Prof, we may let her continue, but she would have to be willing to wear a handmaid's tail outfit for the duration.

Speaker: Well, that is true.

Speaker: And she'd have to be back in the kitchen because right now she's actually in a game room, which is not really where a woman's place should be.

Speaker: It should really be back in the kitchen where she used to be.

Speaker: But I like my game room a lot better than my kitchen.

Speaker: We don't care.

Speaker: You're a wife.

Speaker: You're supposed to be in the kitchen.

Speaker: That's the way that works.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Unless your husband's giving you permission to leave the kitchen for a specific reason, you're in the kitchen.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, it's been nice knowing you.

Speaker: Yeah, it was nice.

Speaker: But we had a good run, didn't we?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It was good.

Speaker: I'm dying over here.

Speaker: That was Tija's idea, by the way.

Speaker: And actually, completely unrelated, but just before we hit record, I saw the beat and it's something I'd seen in the writers, one of the writers.

Speaker: And it was actually the only female writer, Robin, who writes for the beat.

Speaker: Which is Robin, yeah.

Speaker: Thanks to Trump ending DEI, the Babylon Bee is probably able to fire its only female writer.

Speaker: You know, we should put out a plug for the top three not to be that she does.

Speaker: It's a really good little podcast.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: And the one that they are also doing for the week beyond parody or something like that.

Speaker: Those are really good podcasts.

Speaker: They're doing a not to be.

Speaker: We should get those plugged.

Speaker: I need to catch up on those.

Speaker: I've listened to a couple of episodes.

Speaker: Really, really good.

Speaker: Yeah, they're really, really good.

Speaker: Yeah, Robin's.

Speaker: very professional and well you can tell that you like she's done this professionally you know the three of us are amateurs right but yeah yeah she's she's really good at what she does yeah exactly i don't know if you can call us amateurs anymore i mean we have been doing this podcast since 2022 so well there is a point you know it's what's so one of the classes i'm teaching this semester i'm teaching business communications

Speaker: And I was kind of thinking to myself this morning, I should have put down podcast host as my qualification in class, but I didn't do that.

Speaker: Yeah, but then they'll want to listen and they'll be like, yeah, I don't want that.

Speaker: I definitely don't want that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Well, sorry, we have to let you go.

Speaker: I mean, this is one of those podcasts that were just outside of the context of the headline forum.

Speaker: It would probably just make absolutely no sense.

Speaker: No sense.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But of course, Kurgle, we are joking.

Speaker: We love you.

Speaker: You're not really going anywhere.

Speaker: Okay, so I don't have to file for unemployment then?

Speaker: Well, that would kind of imply you get paid.

Speaker: Well, I'm back to the talking about the inauguration.

Speaker: It worked out great because Gizmo had the day off of school because they had a teacher in service thing.

Speaker: And so I told her the day before I said, OK, you're home from school.

Speaker: You're going to watch the inauguration.

Speaker: And.

Speaker: Of course, she's very conservative and everything, but she just, as far as watching politics, she does not like watching the news and stuff.

Speaker: And so then when I told her, okay, that morning, they're starting, come watch.

Speaker: And she said, you know, the same old, politics are boring.

Speaker: But then about like two minutes later, I know she is interested because all of a sudden she said, oh, I should go put on my patriotic earrings for today.

Speaker: And then she ran into her room and came back a minute later.

Speaker: And so she is interested.

Speaker: She just doesn't want to admit it.

Speaker: So I had her watch it.

Speaker: And then Glurk, our cat, had to have known something was going on.

Speaker: Because when the coverage started and they were introducing people,

Speaker: She all of a sudden had like the worst case of zoomies in her life.

Speaker: Our house has a really long hallway that stretches out and can connect to either the living room, which connects to the dining area, or it can go into the kitchen and, you know, big circle.

Speaker: So the cats, they can get up to full speed here.

Speaker: And she is just zooming back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.

Speaker: Like she's, she was saying, I'm so excited for something, but I don't know what it is, but she's just got to go back and forth, back and forth.

Speaker: And then, and then she calmed down for a bit.

Speaker: But right when Trump started saying his oath of office, she went over to one of the recliners, pulled out a red pom-pom from underneath of it and started playing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So she knew something was going on.

Speaker: It's a sign.

Speaker: It's funny.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Maybe it was on behalf of all of her cousins over in Ohio.

Speaker: She was excited that they were going to be spared from any more.

Speaker: Suffrage.

Speaker: Yeah, that was a funny thing too with this campaign.

Speaker: And maybe it wasn't so big outside the bubble of the forum, but it just seemed like Trump was the pet's candidate this year.

Speaker: And yeah, it's funny all the different dynamics.

Speaker: When the whole thing was hitting off in Springfield, Ohio, the internet was alive with so many memes and AI art of Trump rescuing dogs and cats.

Speaker: So I don't think it's just restricted to the forum.

Speaker: Yeah, sometimes I don't know how far some of these news things go.

Speaker: But yeah, they sure made their rounds in the forum, joke after joke after joke.

Speaker: Well, I do know that after meeting Kurgle last summer that she's had a few changes in her life and a few updates.

Speaker: So Kurgle, why don't you go ahead and let us know what's going on with you?

Speaker: Yes, this last year, last several months have been very busy, big changes.

Speaker: Biggest change is I think everybody knows that we've been moving into a new house and we are here.

Speaker: We're settled, pretty much done with everything.

Speaker: I am coming to you from the first time on the podcast from my game room, which is something is so cool to me because it's been something I've wanted my whole life.

Speaker: So you can actually see it now.

Speaker: I have shelves back here.

Speaker: But those aren't all my games here.

Speaker: Get the camera.

Speaker: I'll show you over here.

Speaker: It's looking pretty cool.

Speaker: Those are all my games.

Speaker: That's my game shelf.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: And then, of course, I still have a couple dozen or a dozen or so I still need to bring over.

Speaker: But then I have other games and other games.

Speaker: Then I have my shelf of B memorabilia up there.

Speaker: I saw that in the background.

Speaker: That's pretty cool.

Speaker: Oh, there you go.

Speaker: A bunch of B stuff.

Speaker: Yeah, very nice.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And I saw a few other things, but just need to figure out where I want to put everything.

Speaker: So, yeah, so we've moved.

Speaker: And then another big change, which I'm not very fond of.

Speaker: I'm a mother of a senior in high school.

Speaker: Because every single thing that's going on right now is, well, this is the last time she's going to do this.

Speaker: This is the last time she's going to do that.

Speaker: And this week was her last spirit week.

Speaker: And I don't know how much it's the same from school to school, but they have a week each year where they get into teams and then each day is a different theme.

Speaker: And so you have to have a costume for that theme.

Speaker: And she's always been so excited and we put so much energy and planning into our costumes and everything.

Speaker: And she goes all out.

Speaker: So this was the last year I had to make a

Speaker: costume for whatever teen color she is.

Speaker: And then the last year we had to come up with a character costume.

Speaker: And so it was a lot of fun, but pretty bittersweet.

Speaker: And now she has a whole other bunch of stuff coming up.

Speaker: And I don't like it at all.

Speaker: The only thing that makes it worth it is knowing the excitement that I'm going to have as I get to see what she does with her life when she graduates.

Speaker: So all mixed feelings for it all.

Speaker: Oh, she has started in on her senior recital for her dance studio.

Speaker: And she was real nervous, real excited to find out what the theme this year was.

Speaker: because she's always wanted to be a princess for her senior year.

Speaker: And I was so afraid they were going to do something like make her dress up as Pinocchio or something, you know, some really lame costume.

Speaker: But they announced it over Christmas break that the theme this year is Aladdin.

Speaker: So she gets to be Princess Jasmine.

Speaker: So she's super excited.

Speaker: She brought her costume home the other day and tried it on for us.

Speaker: And there was like glitter everywhere.

Speaker: So, but yeah, so things are going really good.

Speaker: I do have a question for you, Kurgle.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Which shelf has the ketchup on it in your game room?

Speaker: I don't keep ketchup in my game room.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: You've got all those shelves to keep very good room temperature ketchup and you're not using them for ketchup.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: But you did remind me of one other thing I was going to say about my game room.

Speaker: My game table that I have here, when we were moving, my mother-in-law said that she had a table that I could have to use in my game room.

Speaker: And it's a rectangular one because our old kitchen table was oval.

Speaker: And when you're playing board games, it's much better to have a square table.

Speaker: So she said, I got this table.

Speaker: And I always knew it was just an old table that she had.

Speaker: But when they brought it over, she told me the story behind it.

Speaker: And it is actually Mr. Kurgle's great, great grandmother's wedding present.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: So my game table that I use was made sometime in the late 1800s.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: That's very impressive.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: That's great.

Speaker: That's pretty cool.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: So, okay, Pure Teach, you have a new dog, don't you?

Speaker: Yeah, I do.

Speaker: I'm so excited.

Speaker: I think I've rattled on about wanting a dog for many episodes.

Speaker: Yes, you have.

Speaker: I know, Prof, in a previous episode, you talked about getting your Luwam up.

Speaker: Yes, we still have our – we got three dogs, which is a little crazy, but yes, we do.

Speaker: Yeah, and I remember lamenting at the time, I really want a dog.

Speaker: And yeah, it's – long story short, I think I mentioned it –

Speaker: when we did our episode with ShowQuest Kurgle, that my wife and I had agreed, we were both in agreement to get a dog, which was very exciting.

Speaker: And then I think it was shortly after the recording,

Speaker: I'd put out some feelers to a whole load of, what would you call them, places that have dogs up for adoption.

Speaker: And also I'd heard on the grapevine that

Speaker: Various organizations who train, for example, guide dogs for the blind or other types of dogs for people with some sort of a disability.

Speaker: They're always training a lot of dogs and some of them aren't always up to the training.

Speaker: And so they they look for new homes for them.

Speaker: So I kind of proactively approached a whole load of organizations like that and just introduced ourselves.

Speaker: And one such organization sent me their application form and said, fill this out.

Speaker: You know, we haven't got any dogs at the moment.

Speaker: You never know.

Speaker: This was at the beginning of August.

Speaker: then two weeks later the guy reached out to me and he said look we've got this black labrador who he's been training to be a guide dog for the blind but it's far too stressful for him he's a wonderful dog make a great family pet but he's just not up to to the stress of training to be to be a guide dog so we're looking to give him away to a loving home and he

Speaker: the guy was like, if you want him, he's yours.

Speaker: I was like, what?

Speaker: This is like a beautiful purebred Labrador, beautiful dog.

Speaker: And most of the people listening will probably have seen one of 10,000 pictures that I've put on, not the bee or any excuse in a headline or something.

Speaker: So long story short, we went to have a look at him towards the back end of August and it was all arranged very quickly.

Speaker: And I think it was

Speaker: One of the last days of August, he joined our household and we haven't looked back since.

Speaker: It's been an absolute joy.

Speaker: Beautiful dog called Vasco, which I think is named after a Spanish explorer.

Speaker: I'm not too sure.

Speaker: But an absolutely amazing dog.

Speaker: He's just turned two in November.

Speaker: Very, very well behaved, has incredible patience with my kids who throw themselves all over him and get on his nerves probably on a regular basis.

Speaker: But he's very, very long suffering.

Speaker: And yeah, it's just a lovely dog.

Speaker: Sleeps a lot, enjoys some attention.

Speaker: I really enjoy taking him for walks.

Speaker: That's been a real blessing.

Speaker: So it's been a, yeah, it's just been a really, really nice addition to the family and particularly for my oldest daughter who has been doing homeschooling since September.

Speaker: There are days when she's at home on her own and the dog has been a real...

Speaker: a real important part of her life as well.

Speaker: So a lot of changes, not just with the dog, but with my daughter as well, doing homeschooling, that's going really well.

Speaker: And for those that don't know, I'm in my final year of teacher training.

Speaker: So come September, I'll be, hopefully all being well, I'll be a fully qualified teacher here in Belgium, ready to teach in middle school, to teach English and IT.

Speaker: So, yeah, just since the last recording, it's just been really, really busy for me as well with the university work piling up.

Speaker: Just had exams now and I've got another final round of teaching coming up, placement teaching, we call it.

Speaker: So I'll be going to a school in the area for a month to basically be a teacher under the guidance of a mentor and...

Speaker: That should be fine.

Speaker: And then I've just got to do a writer thesis and and then hopefully will be it.

Speaker: That'd be pretty cool.

Speaker: I will.

Speaker: I hope so.

Speaker: As someone who's written a thesis, you can do it.

Speaker: I hope so.

Speaker: I have to.

Speaker: I think from memory, the subject I have to write about is how can we improve our students?

Speaker: pronunciation, uh, and fluency in, of English bearing in mind, of course, I'll be teaching non-native speakers.

Speaker: So I'm going to have to, if anyone's got any inspiration, feel free to shoot me a message.

Speaker: I'll need all the help I can get.

Speaker: So, but I'll be doing a lot of academic research and trying to approach the subject from multiple angles and hopefully write something, uh, suitably impressive that I will then have to defend in, uh, in June.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: And hopefully all being well, come end of June, I'll be all done.

Speaker: I can relax for a couple of months and get ready, hopefully for a new job.

Speaker: Yeah, that does sound difficult, but you can do it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And it's, you know, it's, I'm in my forties.

Speaker: I've never been through higher education in my life.

Speaker: I never thought I needed it, had no particular desire to do it.

Speaker: But circumstances changed and it was really the, it came down to really feeling like this is what I had to do.

Speaker: And it's, it's been really challenging, but it's also been a real blessing.

Speaker: You know, it's a good, a good example to my kids to show them it's never too late to do something with your life and make something of yourself.

Speaker: So, Teej, what you're going through, I have had many, many, many students in my career who are, I guess the term we use in the States is non-traditional or non-trad or somebody who is getting a degree later in life.

Speaker: And they're doing it for all the same reasons you are.

Speaker: You know, it's new career opportunities, got tired of what they were doing or something.

Speaker: try to provide more money, more substance for their families, whatever.

Speaker: But what you're going through is very common.

Speaker: I've seen many people do it very successfully, very, very successfully.

Speaker: And I got my last degree while in my 50s.

Speaker: So I know you can do it.

Speaker: I'm not worried about that at all.

Speaker: So just keep plugging away and keep going.

Speaker: And know that at some point it will end.

Speaker: And yeah, that's the best part.

Speaker: And when I was in the last three to four months of my program and

Speaker: my eyes are blurry from writing a thesis.

Speaker: I just kind of tried to visualize or picture what it would look like to be done.

Speaker: And that kind of got me through and helped me get through it.

Speaker: And that was very, very necessary for me.

Speaker: So I just visualize the end and focus on that.

Speaker: And one day at a time, all those cliches, I guess, but I know you can get through it.

Speaker: You'll get through it.

Speaker: Do you have anything in mind once you're done, what you're going to do to celebrate?

Speaker: I'd like to go on holiday in the summer, but probably I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Speaker: We'll have to see.

Speaker: But I think celebrating will, I think it'd be satisfactory just to have it done and know that I've finished and that I can find a good job.

Speaker: And that will be, that will, that will in and of itself be,

Speaker: be a joyful moment, but I'm sure we'll think of something between now and then.

Speaker: But yeah, it would be, it would be good to do something to celebrate.

Speaker: Definitely.

Speaker: I'm a little worried about something though, Tish.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I'm afraid if you go on holiday that you might go to Greenland and try to claim it for Great Britain.

Speaker: And I'm a, don't do that.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We want it.

Speaker: It's, it's ours.

Speaker: It's, we're going to take it.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: We, we've already claimed it.

Speaker: Don't go there.

Speaker: Don't put a flag there.

Speaker: It's ours.

Speaker: We called it first.

Speaker: We got first dibs.

Speaker: I think didn't Joel Osteen go there first and claim it?

Speaker: He did.

Speaker: He named it and claimed it.

Speaker: From his yacht.

Speaker: He went there on his yacht and then named it and claimed it.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: That gives me a headline idea.

Speaker: Yeah, that's just what I was thinking too.

Speaker: You better throw that out there.

Speaker: I'm going to post it in the writer's room.

Speaker: But yeah, and of course, on top of all that, I mean, maybe I should also mention as well that because there's a recognized teacher shortage over here, the government are basically paying people to study.

Speaker: So I am able to bring in an income while I'm studying, which is a tremendous blessing.

Speaker: It's not as much as working full time, of course, and having a traditional job.

Speaker: But yeah, on top of that, as most people will know, I've had the honor and privilege of working for the Bee part-time as well since last year.

Speaker: So that's been crazy and a lot of fun.

Speaker: But really on top of studying, working for the Bee and having a family, there's not much time for anything else.

Speaker: It's quite very time consuming.

Speaker: Yeah, time fills up real quick.

Speaker: Can you let us know what one of your last published headlines was?

Speaker: The writer's room and the way it works, you know, there are times where you pitch a headline and it gets a word for word published.

Speaker: But quite often, like yesterday, I think I dropped a headline about mess and I posted it in the forum as well.

Speaker: about something to do with AI imagery, like the wife leaves her husband for the more attractive AI picture he creates.

Speaker: I saw a version of that one today.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It was just a bit of a brain dump.

Speaker: I wasn't sure it made much sense, but I thought it was funny because I'd actually...

Speaker: Alyssa from Team Nicholas saw my post on social media.

Speaker: I'd actually, I keep seeing all these adverts for using AI to create professional headshots and see what you look like with long hair and all that sort of thing.

Speaker: So there was a free trial of this AI app and I thought, yeah, I'll give that a try.

Speaker: So I downloaded it and posted, I'll put it in the show notes, posted a picture of myself with beautiful long locks, which of course-

Speaker: Would look nothing like that in real life because I have very straight.

Speaker: Can I say something about that picture?

Speaker: I thought you looked like Rick Springfield.

Speaker: So just FYI.

Speaker: Of course, you've seen it, haven't you, Prof?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, I have not seen it, so I'll have to go look for it.

Speaker: Yeah, I'll send it to you afterwards.

Speaker: But in fact, I've got some on my phone here.

Speaker: I'll show you.

Speaker: But it's hilarious the way it works.

Speaker: So I was playing with that and I posted an idea.

Speaker: I just did a brain dump in the headline forum.

Speaker: And a couple of guys...

Speaker: pitched their take on it before Kyle actually submitted the idea.

Speaker: Study finds 85% of AI servers are just being used by men generating images of themselves as Roman soldiers.

Speaker: So sometimes there's a headline which you've indirectly contributed towards.

Speaker: And in the listicles as well, everyone's popping their ideas in.

Speaker: But yeah, I'm just looking now for the, when's the last one I, yeah.

Speaker: And then another one which we arrived at through some collaboration was the, with TikTok banned China forced to spy on Americans by hiding little cameras in fortune cookies.

Speaker: Yeah, that was a good one.

Speaker: I remember that one.

Speaker: I was indirectly involved in that one.

Speaker: I kind of, we had a Chinese on that day and I just thought, hey, what if the food is spying on us now?

Speaker: And that kind of, yeah.

Speaker: The food has eyes.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But most of them are kind of along those lines, you know, like the one about Obama divorcing Michelle after discovering she's actually a woman.

Speaker: You know, that's something we were throwing around in the writer's room.

Speaker: One of the ones that I was proud of, which did pretty well, was Biden says he's looking forward to retiring to that nice big farm in the country where Jill sent the family dog.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I was proud of that one.

Speaker: That was a good one.

Speaker: You should be.

Speaker: Oh my word, what is this?

Speaker: Check this out.

Speaker: Can you see that?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: You're like Rick Springfield, I swear.

Speaker: Yeah, you look like a rock star.

Speaker: You look like an 80s rocker.

Speaker: Obviously, that's my face, but that's not me.

Speaker: It superimposed me on someone else's body.

Speaker: Yeah, that's weird.

Speaker: No, you're an 80s rocker now.

Speaker: And this is the one, Kurgle, that I posted on my Facebook page.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: See, that's Rick Springfield.

Speaker: Yeah, same.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Oh, hang on.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Hilarious.

Speaker: And my mother, bless her, she saw it and she was like, wow, you're so handsome.

Speaker: I'm like, yeah.

Speaker: The picture quality is much better than I was expecting.

Speaker: It is.

Speaker: It's very good.

Speaker: But I was like, mum, you know, come on, this is like AI, you know, that's not what I look like in real life.

Speaker: It's another one there.

Speaker: But I used to have long hair and I have actually been thinking about growing it again, but yeah.

Speaker: Well, we'll see.

Speaker: The problem is it doesn't look that nice when I grow it.

Speaker: So we'll see.

Speaker: You got my note!

Speaker: Well, I got a note.

Speaker: Earlier today, Kurgle posted a headline announcement to let everybody know that we're going to finally be recording an episode.

Speaker: And she asked for some questions and everybody came through and posted some awesome questions.

Speaker: So we'll go ahead and try to answer the best we can.

Speaker: Yeah, so the very first comment was from Aussie Mama.

Speaker: And I kind of already answered that, I think, both on the post and what I've just said about the dog.

Speaker: So she was asking how the new pup is doing.

Speaker: So he's doing great.

Speaker: We love him.

Speaker: He's great.

Speaker: So I can't really add much more to that.

Speaker: Really, really, really happy.

Speaker: Okay, so I have a question here from DJNugget83, and he's asking about how great Beelife was, but there hasn't been another one.

Speaker: So if the forum might plan their own get-togethers.

Speaker: And I know there has been a lot of talk about

Speaker: different things, um, over the last year or so.

Speaker: Uh, um, but nothing has really ever worked out.

Speaker: Um, it's really cool when we see a post every once in a while, when a couple, two or three subscribers get to meet each other in person and they post pictures.

Speaker: That's really cool.

Speaker: But yeah, hopefully I would love to have something work out.

Speaker: Um, I saw that little Jedi posted that he has some ideas, but, um,

Speaker: Yeah, it'd be great if we could get a hangout sometime and have a whole bunch of us to get to meet up.

Speaker: Yeah, I agree.

Speaker: I think, you know, regardless, it would be if the guys in the forum are able and prepared to arrange some sort of a be live for the forum, that would be incredible.

Speaker: I know behind the scenes, the question, and I think they've talked about this on the podcast, the other podcast or the main podcast as well, before there has been talk of doing another BeLive, but I think it just takes so much organisation.

Speaker: They do want to do another one, but I guess it just keeps getting put off and delayed.

Speaker: And there are, of course, other things going on as well.

Speaker: So nothing set in stone as far as I'm aware at this stage.

Speaker: But I guess if the community want to try and arrange something, go for it.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: There's a challenge.

Speaker: The forum can do it.

Speaker: Kurgle?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: With the size of your game room, could you host a B live meetup?

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So my game room is a game room, but it's not really that huge.

Speaker: So I'd say probably to fit comfortably, three lucky subscribers can come to my game room.

Speaker: Oh, only three.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, I have it.

Speaker: My table has four chairs.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Gotcha.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So good question here.

Speaker: Nice guy.

Speaker: 79 asked an intriguing question.

Speaker: And nice guy.

Speaker: 79 is going by Dr. Puker McBark, McBarf face.

Speaker: So that's kind of an interesting call sign there.

Speaker: If I melt dry ice cream, can I swim without getting wet?

Speaker: I actually prepared for this answer.

Speaker: Okay, let's go.

Speaker: Kergel's got the answer.

Speaker: So I went to Mr. Kergel.

Speaker: He said, yes, but at the pressure required.

Speaker: Then he said, when you're done, your voice would sound funny and you would taste bad.

Speaker: Ah, okay.

Speaker: So there we have a definitive answer.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So do you want to know why any of that?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Why?

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, he said to get the liquid form, you have to have five times atmospheric pressure and you would need to have a scuba tank with you to survive it.

Speaker: And the scuba tank would have to have a mix of helium in it.

Speaker: So when you're done, your voice would sound funny.

Speaker: But you would not get wet because at that time, the solubility of the water would be very low.

Speaker: So you wouldn't get wet, but you would taste bad because liquid CO2 is also used to decaffeinate coffee.

Speaker: So you would be decaffeinated.

Speaker: So you would taste bad.

Speaker: Interesting.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: Well, how sciencey was that?

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: So yes, you can swim in liquid CO2 and not get wet.

Speaker: Okay, now we know.

Speaker: And knowing is half the battle.

Speaker: Yeah, so speaking of science, Prof, I've got a very interesting question here from user GarbageMan24 or Maharishi.

Speaker: And he or she asks, what is the limit as X approaches zero of sine X over X?

Speaker: So I gave this a little bit of thought and had a bit of collaboration with some theoretical mathematicians, philosophers, and a guy who always talks too loudly at Starbucks.

Speaker: And yeah, we kind of came to a few conclusions that the

Speaker: If we delimit as x of 0 of sine x over x is indisputably equal to 1.

Speaker: However, when factoring in life's incoherent chaos, Schrodinger's cat and Elon Musk's tweets, the answer might fluctuate to pi, 42, or even Dogecoin, depending on who's solving it and whether they're on Reddit.

Speaker: Anyway, the limit is 1, unless you're asking in an alternative universe, in which case it's whatever keeps the multiverse stable.

Speaker: So I don't know.

Speaker: There's an answer in there somewhere, Garbage Man 24.

Speaker: But I'm not clever, so I'm not going to pretend I'm there.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I can make you a sandwich.

Speaker: Here's one that was written specifically to me from Alola Raichu, and he wants to know, can I explain in academic terms why cross-armed cats are so hilarious?

Speaker: Okay, so here we go.

Speaker: So the image of an animal with a universally perceived bad temper being personified in such a way as to confirm the perception leads to the humorous realization that if a cat could cross its arms, it would.

Speaker: I saw something in the long growing chats here of a cat with its arms crossed.

Speaker: Where's that?

Speaker: Yeah, I got it.

Speaker: Oh, there's been many of them.

Speaker: Okay, so really, why is it so funny?

Speaker: I find it funny, well, I have always, my whole life have found it personification hilarious.

Speaker: I've always loved it.

Speaker: That's why I like to make pictures of inanimate objects with arms and legs and faces.

Speaker: But when you see a cat with his arms crossed, that pretty much personifies the whole personality of the cat in one image.

Speaker: And I don't know, it's just funny.

Speaker: And it's also funny because if you post anything about a cat now, you can get an image of a cross-armed cat from the big freeze.

Speaker: So that makes it funny too.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So SB Horn 2, the number two, says, my sister sent me a beef from a year ago about old airline pilots named Steve.

Speaker: And I got a big laugh from it because my husband's name is Steve.

Speaker: My question is this.

Speaker: Can his name be included in more articles so I can satirize and make fun of him in a beautiful wife way, of course?

Speaker: And SB Horn, number two, the answer, of course, is yes, because that is me.

Speaker: I am Steve.

Speaker: So please make fun of me.

Speaker: I enjoy it.

Speaker: Go for it all the way, all the time.

Speaker: Please, please, please.

Speaker: More Steve headlines.

Speaker: Let's do it.

Speaker: And of course, it gives us the excuse to use the Jarrett GIF.

Speaker: Steve.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Steve.

Speaker: Which I like to think they made because of me.

Speaker: So I hope I have inspiration for that one.

Speaker: Prof, I've got a question for you.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: From the Bat Knight.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: And he says, Alola Raichu, and he wants to know, why can't we get Dr. Conservative Prof to use anything besides the like react on headlines?

Speaker: That's very hard to do.

Speaker: It is.

Speaker: I like low-hanging fruit.

Speaker: I like something that's easy to do, that's quick to do.

Speaker: And guess what's easy to do?

Speaker: Like, like, like, like.

Speaker: Like, like, like, like, like.

Speaker: I will throw out the occasional laugh or celebration.

Speaker: But yeah, liking is easy.

Speaker: I just like liking a lot.

Speaker: How's that?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: See, sometimes it seems like it takes so long to update a headline because I see a headline, it's like, oh, I know the perfect reaction for that one.

Speaker: So then I have to go to another tab, go to the settings, replace one of my saved reactions, and then go back, refresh it, make sure I had that same headline, and then update it.

Speaker: I don't have time for any of that.

Speaker: It's easier to figure out what the sign of X is than do all that.

Speaker: I mean, come on, people.

Speaker: I'm similar as well these days.

Speaker: I'm throwing out a lot of likes.

Speaker: But I've only recently saved a whole load of personalized reactions.

Speaker: I didn't realize you could do that to start with.

Speaker: It's a nice feature.

Speaker: Yeah, I'll go.

Speaker: If there's a certain theme that's been going on for several days, I'll just save a reaction that goes along for that.

Speaker: So that does make it a lot quicker.

Speaker: But yeah, on days when it's really, really busy, yeah, it's a lot easier just to hit like, like, like.

Speaker: I think like and the LOL reaction are my favorites, but I also, one of my saved ones is toilet paper incorrect.

Speaker: I like that.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So here is a question from the big freeze and he asks me, can we expect more cat headlines this year?

Speaker: I would say that the chances of that are relatively good.

Speaker: You know, I at least have to get rid of the, use up the ones that are in my drafts folder.

Speaker: So, yeah, probably more cat headlines.

Speaker: I disagree.

Speaker: I think we should have more dog headlines.

Speaker: I'm with you, Tish.

Speaker: Well.

Speaker: I'm a dog person.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: Sorry, guys.

Speaker: Sorry, the big freeze.

Speaker: Oh, the big freeze.

Speaker: He's the hugest, biggest cat lover ever.

Speaker: But, you know, if you want more dog headlines, then the dog people have to post more dog headlines.

Speaker: This is true.

Speaker: Heard it here first, people.

Speaker: Dog lovers, let's get out there and make it happen.

Speaker: I have actually tried to get a few dog-related headlines published, but as yet it hasn't quite worked.

Speaker: I think one of them was a husband wondering how to get as much attention as the family dog.

Speaker: I like that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm about to re-pitch that one.

Speaker: So I have one from We Bid The Farewell, and I'm not going to pronounce his username, but I do know the skit where that name is coming from, from Key and Peele.

Speaker: It's a very good skit, about 10 minutes of different football player names, but I'm not going to try to pronounce it.

Speaker: But he has one question for me, and it's a GIF of Ron Swanson holding a

Speaker: light up sign that says poop.

Speaker: And the only reason I'm bringing this question up is because we bid thee farewell and I have been having this epic gif battle for probably well over a couple of months where that gif right there has been a big part of the gif battle.

Speaker: So I'm a big Ron Swanson fan.

Speaker: So the Ron Swanson poop gif

Speaker: has been a big, big one for me because deep inside my inner eighth grader is still comes out quite often as Tiege knows.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And for those of you.

Speaker: For those of you that share our silly, childish sense of humor, if you are on Not The Bee, we have set up a special group for those of you with eighth grade boy humor.

Speaker: And there's all sorts of funny and inappropriate jokes on there, which gets a good laugh.

Speaker: Eighth grade girls are allowed in that also, by the way.

Speaker: Yeah, they're welcome.

Speaker: Anyone's welcome.

Speaker: But you must...

Speaker: not be offended easily this is true so if you're easily offended maybe just then don't go there and also shout out to nicholas for being so consistent with the duke cast it's been great to uh it's been great having that um every week and that's a huge commitment i mean you know we we

Speaker: at our peak, we were recording what maybe once a month, once every six weeks.

Speaker: And that in itself is, is taxing and, and they do it every week.

Speaker: So hats off to you guys and really appreciate all you're doing for the forum.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: That's, that's a big commitment.

Speaker: Like if, if we had to do this podcast every week, I wouldn't be able to do it all the time.

Speaker: So, so yeah.

Speaker: So that's, that's pretty amazing that they've been able to keep that up.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But I've noticed the last few episodes, I have heard children in the background, which I like.

Speaker: I think that's nice.

Speaker: So it's good to, I think they used to wait till the kids were in bed.

Speaker: So I'm guessing they don't do that anymore.

Speaker: Well, probably as the kids, you know, I don't know what their bedtimes are, but, you know, as kids get older, their bedtimes get later.

Speaker: So it'll just be harder and harder to, you know, no one wants to stay up that late.

Speaker: This is true.

Speaker: Okay, and then I've got another question here from Skull.

Speaker: And Skull asks, which of the three We The Beatle hosts can do the best Trump dance?

Speaker: Here we go.

Speaker: Let's sing along.

Speaker: Come on, Kugel.

Speaker: It's like this, isn't it?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay, we are all now doing the tramp dance.

Speaker: Yeah, that's fun.

Speaker: And I think Kervil was definitely the less awkward of the three of us.

Speaker: Definitely.

Speaker: And Prof, I believe you have some Baptist roots, so dancing isn't in your nature, is it?

Speaker: Probably just broke a couple of commandments there.

Speaker: Yeah, what a tough week for Baptists.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Because all you want to do is a Trump dance.

Speaker: That's right.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Oh, man.

Speaker: Thanks, guys.

Speaker: That's another headline idea.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So one final question.

Speaker: Oh, I just had it.

Speaker: Here it is.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: This one is from Bat Night.

Speaker: Which member of Trump's cabinet do you think is the best looking and why is it J.D.

Speaker: Vance?

Speaker: I have a very personal reason for my choice here.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Because I've seen this person in real life.

Speaker: I've met this person.

Speaker: I'm going to announce I've shook this person's hand so I can verify for sure that this person is the best looking member of Trump's cabinet.

Speaker: And I'll go with my former governor now, former governor, Kristi Noem.

Speaker: Yeah, she is very pretty.

Speaker: So that's my choice.

Speaker: But as a dog owner, Prof,

Speaker: You know, sometimes you have bad dogs.

Speaker: Sometimes that's just how that works.

Speaker: And because of my governor, I got a headline published.

Speaker: So, hey, how about that?

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But no, this this question made me think, though, you know, everything is so different with Trump's administration.

Speaker: And we're even we're only just like just a few days into it.

Speaker: But, you know, even have RFK Jr. coming in is going to be talking about getting healthier and all that stuff, all the issues.

Speaker: you know, protecting people, getting the country, the whole economy rebooted and just everything good.

Speaker: And then you see his cabinet picks and all the people working for him.

Speaker: And you compare those to what the Democrats look like.

Speaker: And no, you shouldn't judge people on what they look like.

Speaker: That's not the important thing.

Speaker: But it just seems to really fit with the whole administration, the whole change in the country to see his people up there.

Speaker: And they look nice.

Speaker: So there's no dudes wearing dresses in Trump's administration?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Or Baldwin guys wearing dresses?

Speaker: What?

Speaker: I haven't seen any weirdo looking people.

Speaker: Huh.

Speaker: How can we compete as a country under those circumstances?

Speaker: I'm really worried now.

Speaker: I'm just looking on the BBC's website to look at the cabinet picks.

Speaker: And Doug Burgum has got what looks like purple hair in this photo.

Speaker: So he could be.

Speaker: Well, he's from he's from Gay, North Dakota.

Speaker: So that might be easy for that.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: And I want to remind everybody why it's so windy in South Dakota.

Speaker: It's because North Dakota sucks.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: Yeah, I'd have to say, I mean, I'm just, I don't know too much about the cabinet picks apart from the obvious ones that you hear, like obviously RFK Jr. and Kristi Noon.

Speaker: But yeah, I'd say Kristi Noon is probably the prettiest out of everyone, but she doesn't have a huge amount of competition to be honest.

Speaker: I think...

Speaker: I think if I was going to be like checking out the guys, I think Pete Hegseth, am I pronouncing that correctly?

Speaker: He's come under fire recently, hasn't he?

Speaker: But he's a pretty good guy, I think.

Speaker: But can he give a good side eye?

Speaker: I haven't seen Pete do that like JD can do it.

Speaker: Yeah, we need a gif of Pete Hegseth giving the side eye.

Speaker: And then we can look at them side by side.

Speaker: There you go.

Speaker: I was loving JD's reaction to the woman bishop.

Speaker: As soon as she she mentioned the first woke thing, he just immediately glared at his wife like, what is this?

Speaker: You know, that sermon that that that Bishop did about immigrants and she like that was she was, in my opinion, she was very racist in that.

Speaker: in that uh speech because she talked about how immigrants are harvesting working meat packing plants working night shifts at hospitals uh cleaning things up and i'm like

Speaker: Way to put a whole group of people into one lump bucket here and not believe that they're capable of something different.

Speaker: It's just like it was so stereotypical of the liberal white woman to talk to about people like that.

Speaker: I was just like, nobody's talking about that.

Speaker: Nobody's saying, well, isn't what she said?

Speaker: I mean, she was just going on stereotypes here.

Speaker: If a conservative said those same things, I would have to think somebody in the liberal media would pounce all over them.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: It was painful to watch.

Speaker: Very, very painful.

Speaker: It was not the place or time.

Speaker: And it's almost like it was like she had the folks at The View on speed dial who put her up to doing it or something like that, because she was on The View the next day.

Speaker: Not that I watched The View.

Speaker: I just saw the news about that.

Speaker: What's the name of that?

Speaker: set up you guys have comedy set up you have where i think ellen used to do it with adam yenza where he wears an earpiece and then she'll whisper in his ear and be like you know now say this now do that oh sure right right you can just imagine the the hosts of the view saying i now say whoopi goldberg was in her ear saying now say this here's another headline idea there you go

Speaker: We'll have to do this more often.

Speaker: You guys are giving me free material and free inspiration.

Speaker: You're very welcome.

Speaker: You're welcome.

Speaker: I think clerk's getting impatient.

Speaker: I just saw her paw stick under the door trying to get in.

Speaker: Well, in the old days, when you were in your kitchen, clerk was usually front and center.

Speaker: We'd see clerk quite often.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, but now I can close the door and there's enough space for them to roam around that as long as they're not too hungry, they won't come bother me.

Speaker: I had to laugh the one time one of the cats was getting into a Dr. Pepper box or something like that, a carton or something like that.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, Glurk is, she is so stereotypical.

Speaker: It doesn't matter what it is.

Speaker: If you open any box, you set the box there, you turn away for a second, you turn back, she's in the box.

Speaker: Oh, that's hilarious.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay, so that's all the time we have for questions, but the other questions we didn't get to, we'll reply to those in the comments.

Speaker: I do wanna say one thing to shout out to Little Jedi who has done an awful lot of work.

Speaker: I know a lot of people are using his headline review, his update reflectors, all the information that he's starting to put in the wiki and that's gonna continue to grow.

Speaker: he has done so much work making things easier for all, all the subscribers in the forum.

Speaker: And I know just his headline review has saved me a ton of time because now he's,

Speaker: he automated the system to attract points for when people are getting close to celebration times.

Speaker: So I like say, thank you for that little Jedi and encourage any, the whole forum to use it and look at that if they haven't already.

Speaker: And then he's also the newest thing he's, he's created is a gigadoop master index.

Speaker: So you don't have to wait until he, until the end of the year when he,

Speaker: has his headline with the whole Megadoot review for the year.

Speaker: You can go to his Gigadoot master index now and see what headlines of yours have been Megadooted, who Megadooted them and, you know, all that good stuff.

Speaker: So that's, that's pretty cool.

Speaker: Never ceases to amaze me what Little Jedi is able to do and his technical insights and all the background stuff he's able to do and where he finds the time to do it as well.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: But yeah, these are things I never even thought would be possible.

Speaker: And he's just putting them out there.

Speaker: So yeah, everybody appreciates it.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: Thank you very much, Little Jedi.

Speaker: And also just a quick bonus shout out to previously known as Marked for Deletion, user M4D.

Speaker: He was asking about what advice we have for the new subscribers joining the headline forum.

Speaker: I think I would say if you are new to the podcast, if you're new to the headline forum, do check out the welcome emails that user M4D.

Speaker: So that's the letter M, the number four.

Speaker: the letter D check out the headlines he's putting out on a regular basis because he will often link through to kind of a bit of a welcome pack for new users.

Speaker: Also including some information from little Jedi and, and just get you connected with the different people in the headline forum.

Speaker: But I think, you know, advice is just enjoy it.

Speaker: Be, be patient.

Speaker: I think a lot of new,

Speaker: subscribers arrive thinking, I have a great headline, I'm going to get published in a week.

Speaker: And anyone that's been around the headline forum for some time will tell you that that is a very admirable dream, but it may not be the reality.

Speaker: There are exceptions and there are one or two people in B history who have come on, dropped a headline and been published and then they sail off again into the distance.

Speaker: But most of us grind away at this thing day in, day out for months, even years.

Speaker: And when the publishers come, they're very welcome and exciting.

Speaker: But that's not, as it turns out, I think most of the people that hang around end up saying the same thing.

Speaker: We came to get published.

Speaker: we stayed for the community.

Speaker: So there is a great sense of community here.

Speaker: So just enjoy it.

Speaker: Don't get too wrapped up in trying to get published.

Speaker: It is a lottery.

Speaker: And if you can win, great.

Speaker: If not, then just enjoy being here and enjoy getting to know the people behind the headlines and have fun.

Speaker: Good advice.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So I was going to say good advice.

Speaker: Just have fun.

Speaker: Enjoy yourself.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Well, I think that's all the time we've got for today, guys.

Speaker: And I know, Prof, you've got some professing to do and Kirgel, you've got to go and feed Gluck.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: And as always, it's pressing on into the late hours here in Belgium, the time difference.

Speaker: So I'm starting to get tired.

Speaker: So I'm going to probably head off to bed soon.

Speaker: But yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, it's been really fun to catch up with you guys.

Speaker: Thanks so much for taking the time to come together.

Speaker: And I'm hoping we can get another podcast out again in the not too distant future.

Speaker: And who knows, maybe we'll get a guest from the headline forum on.

Speaker: I know that was also a question from one or two users.

Speaker: Who's going to be our next guest?

Speaker: We haven't decided.

Speaker: We haven't got any names in the shortlist yet.

Speaker: So we are open to suggestions.

Speaker: But yeah, watch this space.

Speaker: And hopefully in the coming weeks, we'll find time to get together again and maybe get to know another user and find out who the person behind the headlines is.

Speaker: It'll be fun.

Speaker: We hope to be back more regularly and we'll have an awesome 25 because we h ave a real president now.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: So, Kirgl, Prof, enjoy the coming weeks ahead.

Speaker: I think hopefully the next time we record, the worst of the winter will be behind us and we'll be able to look forward to some spring weather.

Speaker: Oh, sounds great.

Speaker: It's been a very, you know, they say January is the most depressing month of the year.

Speaker: And I'll be glad when the evening starts to get lighter and the sun shines for longer and it gets a bit warmer.

Speaker: Certainly over here, I imagine there as well.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm looking so forward to it being warm again.

Speaker: As a side note, I was chatting with the strike engineer and he was saying up there in Alaska, during the deep winter months, the days are very, very short and very, very, very dark.

Speaker: So I think he'll be, I think our friends up far up north will be looking forward to the spring weather as well.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm sure what the viewer, what the listeners don't know is that this whole time, this whole podcast, Kurgle's been in this giant blanket fort.

Speaker: We've just barely been able to see her eyes has always really seen her this whole time.

Speaker: So she's January.

Speaker: She's in a cocoon.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: If the temperature drops anymore, I'm going to have to send Mr. Kurgle out for an emergency blanket run and to get a few more blankets.

Speaker: It's been tough.

Speaker: All right, guys, this has been really good fun.

Speaker: It's been good to catch up with you again.

Speaker: Yeah, 100%.

Speaker: Definitely.

Speaker: It's been far too long, so hopefully we'll be able to arrange something again in the not-too-distant future.

Speaker: I think so.

Speaker: Depending on your schedules and how busy you guys are for me as well.

Speaker: So, yeah, I'm sure we can find time.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Sounds great.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: And until next time, have fun, keep working on those headlines, and keep Trump dancing.

Speaker: Speaking of science-y, Prof, a very unusual question from the user GarbageMan24 or MahaRushi.

Speaker: And he or she asks, what is the limit as X approaches zero of sin, X over X?

Speaker: Sign.

Speaker: Sign.

Speaker: Is it sign?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Not sin or sign?

Speaker: Am I missing that?

Speaker: I believe it's sign.

Speaker: Yeah, in math, it's sign.

Speaker: So let's redo that.

Speaker: So what would be sign?

Speaker: I'm not familiar with US arithmetic and mathematics.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: So what would be sign?

Speaker: It's been so long since I've done math like that.

Speaker: I didn't even try to solve it.

Speaker: I have two other people in my house that probably could, but...

Speaker: So where I'm saying sin, are you actually, should it be sign?

Speaker: Sign.

Speaker: Yeah, it's pronounced sign.

Speaker: Okay, so it's just a pronunciation issue.

Speaker: Okay, I thought it was sin.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So I gave this a little bit of thought and had a bit of collaboration with some theoretical mathematicians, philosophers, and a guy who always talks too loudly at Starbucks.

Speaker: And yeah, we kind of came to a few conclusions that the

Speaker: If we delimit as x of zero of sine x over x is indisputably equal to one.

Speaker: However, when factoring in life's incoherent chaos, Schrodinger's cat and Elon Musk's tweets, the answer might fluctuate to pi, 42 or even Dogecoin, depending on who's solving it and whether they're on Reddit.

Speaker: And then theoretical physicists then chimed in to assert that this limit is only true in dimensions where sine waves exist, a reality that collapses if you dare to ask a philosophic... Start that again.

Speaker: Theoretical physicists then chimed in to assert that this limit is only true in dimensions where sine waves exist.

Speaker: That's a reality that collapses if you dare to ask a philosophic... Ah, I can't do this.

Speaker: Oh, I'm trying to be smart.

Speaker: Do not put this in the end of the podcast.

Speaker: No, please do.

Speaker: This should not go in the end of the podcast.

Speaker: I was just thinking, I'm going to hear this at the end of the podcast.

Speaker: Yeah, but then I don't sound smart, you know.

Speaker: Think of what a theological question that would be if it was sin and not sign.

Speaker: If it was sin and not sign.

Speaker: Well, yeah.

Speaker: I think it's just a conspiracy theory on big calculus to control the narrative on derivatives.
