Introduction and Guest Welcome
00:00:07
Speaker
Thanks for tuning in to the Loser Kid Pinball Podcast.
00:00:10
Speaker
It is episode number 20.
00:00:12
Speaker
I am Josh Roop, along with my co-captain, Scott Larson.
00:00:16
Speaker
And today we have Brad Hunter of
Pinball Expo Excitement
00:00:19
Speaker
How are you doing today, Brad?
00:00:23
Speaker
We're doing great.
00:00:23
Speaker
It sounds like you're gearing up for Expo coming up.
00:00:29
Speaker
Next Thursday is the kickoff day.
00:00:33
Speaker
So we'll get into a lot more about why you're on and what's the point, but let's talk about what do you do in pinball?
00:00:42
Speaker
Because there's a lot of different things that Josh and I have talked about, whether or not it's the designers or the programmers, but we also like the, I guess, the game room element of just having things in your house that tell, hey, this is what I do.
00:00:57
Speaker
And so what do you do?
00:00:59
Speaker
Why are you into pinball?
00:01:03
Speaker
Yeah, so I'm into pinball for the experience, and part of that's the artwork.
00:01:09
Speaker
And so basically my product was to come up with a way to light up pinball translates or artwork that's in the back box so you could have it hanging on your wall anytime, whether you own the machine or
Inspiration and Product Creation
00:01:21
Speaker
Okay, and so what –
00:01:25
Speaker
Why did you choose to have this illuminated art?
00:01:30
Speaker
And a lot of people have extra trans lights laying around.
00:01:34
Speaker
What made you think, you know what, I need to do something better to get this up on people's walls?
00:01:39
Speaker
Yeah, so Stern actually gave me four trans lights, and they're sitting under my bed rolled up in a tube.
00:01:46
Speaker
And I thought, that's pretty lame.
00:01:49
Speaker
After a few months, these should be lit.
00:01:52
Speaker
They should be hanging in a frame, but I couldn't find anything that was readily available that fit this size.
00:01:58
Speaker
And the people that used to make them were no longer in business.
00:02:02
Speaker
And so I finally found and worked with a manufacturer where I could custom size these frames for my Translites.
00:02:12
Speaker
Initially, I just wanted four frames for my Translites to hang on my wall.
00:02:16
Speaker
I showed them to some friends.
00:02:18
Speaker
They got excited, which got me excited.
00:02:22
Speaker
So I kept making more, kept making them better.
00:02:25
Speaker
Fast forward a year later and, you know, here today chatting with you guys.
00:02:31
Speaker
So, so first question, what are the four translates that Stern gave you?
00:02:35
Speaker
Deadpool, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Maiden.
00:02:42
Speaker
So, so they, they gave you these translates.
00:02:45
Speaker
Like how did, how did this happen?
00:02:46
Speaker
No one's ever given me a translate.
00:02:48
Speaker
So I, I'm, I'm wondering how I can get on the team.
00:02:51
Speaker
Yeah, so I've been friends with Jody over there since about 2010.
00:02:55
Speaker
And then recently, Zach, since he got hired on, we'll go to lunch every once in a while.
00:03:02
Speaker
My background and what I currently do in my day job is marketing for consumer good companies.
00:03:07
Speaker
And so, you know, we exchanged ideas about different experiences, events, marketing ideas for Stern.
00:03:15
Speaker
And as a thank you, I wasn't expecting anything.
00:03:18
Speaker
We were just talking over lunch.
00:03:20
Speaker
They sent me a bunch of translates just as a thank you for, you know, spending time and talking pinball.
00:03:26
Speaker
So, yeah, they didn't owe me anything.
00:03:28
Speaker
It was just super great as Stern to send those to me.
00:03:32
Speaker
Well, I want to back up just a couple steps because –
00:03:36
Speaker
I feel like we put the cart in front of the horse.
Brad's Pinball Journey
00:03:39
Speaker
Brad, why don't you tell us how you got into pinball?
00:03:41
Speaker
Because we had a – I mean we already had this discussion, but we didn't share it with everyone.
00:03:46
Speaker
So why don't you tell us a little bit about how you got into pinball up to this point?
00:03:51
Speaker
Yeah, when I was about seven or eight years old, went over to a friend's house, and they had a sorcerer, a Miss Pac-Man, a Bonsai Run, and I think either a Big Hunt or a Scorpion.
00:04:05
Speaker
And I thought they stole them from the bowling alley.
00:04:07
Speaker
I honestly didn't know people could own coin-operated games in their home, but it was the coolest thing.
00:04:13
Speaker
So we'd build a fort under their hockey table and we'd play sorcerer till 2 or 3 a.m.
00:04:18
Speaker
and have nightmares from those eyes in the back glass.
00:04:21
Speaker
And ever since then, I knew I wanted a pinball machine in my house.
00:04:26
Speaker
And so a few years later, when I was 14, I borrowed a
00:04:30
Speaker
a couple hundred bucks for my parents.
00:04:32
Speaker
They had an SUV, so went to an operator's warehouse, picked up a ballet skateboard, an Atari Space Riders.
00:04:39
Speaker
And I kid you not, the Atari Space Riders, all it needed was a fuse.
00:04:45
Speaker
And that's what everyone jokes about.
00:04:47
Speaker
So I flipped those games and then the rest is history.
00:04:51
Speaker
I just kept buying and fixing.
00:04:52
Speaker
So back then it was rec games pinball before Pinside.
00:04:57
Speaker
Started meeting local collectors, learn how to read schematics, just basic repair type stuff.
00:05:04
Speaker
And then YouTube comes along, Pinside comes along.
00:05:08
Speaker
And then it kind of blows up from there.
00:05:11
Speaker
What's crazy to me is we were talking before this and you were telling me you kind of lived through the, I'm going to call it the quote unquote dark times of pinball.
00:05:20
Speaker
So that 2000s area, you were telling me you were trying to sell like a scared stiff and it sat for months at $2,600 and you just couldn't get rid of pinball machines because no one was buying.
00:05:35
Speaker
And just tell us a little bit about that because I think a lot of us that are in the pinball hobby now have really jumped in in the last five years.
00:05:42
Speaker
So yeah, tell us about it.
00:05:44
Speaker
Yeah, so back then it was pretty interesting.
00:05:46
Speaker
So I never got into the container games.
00:05:48
Speaker
So you hear people talking about Twilight Zones, Adam's Families for $800, $1,200 coming in from Europe.
00:05:56
Speaker
The games I had, so that Scared Stiff came from Namco Game Sales I bought in 2000 for $13.95 was the sticker price.
00:06:06
Speaker
It was an early production, had the glow shooter eyeball, had a glow bony beast ramp, as well as the slings, mint shape.
00:06:16
Speaker
I didn't even know what cabinet fade was back then.
00:06:18
Speaker
I didn't know what ghosting inserts were back then.
00:06:23
Speaker
A game that worked.
00:06:23
Speaker
That's all that mattered to me.
00:06:26
Speaker
And so I kept that game about eight or nine years, sold it in 2009.
00:06:31
Speaker
It actually was listed for at least a month until a local collector paid $2,600 for it.
00:06:38
Speaker
I think I dropped the price from $2,800 to $2,600.
00:06:39
Speaker
Within a month, I also sold my No Good Gophers for $1,850.
00:06:46
Speaker
It was mint as well.
00:06:49
Speaker
So I think the frustrating thing was I didn't know as much about the hobby from what's collectible because it didn't really matter back then.
00:06:59
Speaker
You weren't thinking I should start hoarding games now because five, 10 years from now, everything's going to be three times what it's worth.
00:07:08
Speaker
I remember walking into this...
00:07:12
Speaker
pool hall, there was a Congo and it was listed for a thousand dollars.
00:07:16
Speaker
And he had two to choose from.
00:07:17
Speaker
He said, which one do you want?
00:07:19
Speaker
And I tried to haggle him at $900 because I literally only had $900.
00:07:23
Speaker
And he said, no, I can only do a thousand.
00:07:25
Speaker
So I walked away and he had two Congos to pick from.
00:07:30
Speaker
You should have pulled out your pockets and laid all the money out.
00:07:36
Speaker
And seriously, you can have whatever change I have in the ashtray in my car.
00:07:42
Speaker
Just back then, it didn't matter.
00:07:44
Speaker
I mean, $900,000, $1,000, truly, that was all I had.
00:07:49
Speaker
And who's buying pinball machines in college?
00:07:54
Speaker
Now, I know you went to college in Utah.
00:07:56
Speaker
Was that here in Utah?
00:07:57
Speaker
Yeah, so I went to BYU.
00:08:00
Speaker
Actually, I tried to buy the Attack from Mars from the bowling alley, and I tried to buy a Tales of Arabian Nights that actually turned down for $2,200.
00:08:07
Speaker
It was at a pizza joint because I said, well, it's unshopped.
00:08:12
Speaker
I'll give you $1,800, but $2,200, you're crazy.
00:08:16
Speaker
Well, but at the same time, that's – well, it's not crazy.
00:08:19
Speaker
That was market price at the time.
00:08:20
Speaker
Yeah, that was the norm, right?
00:08:23
Speaker
I mean, that'd be like buying an unshopped Tales for $8,000 today.
00:08:27
Speaker
Well, and the other thing you said that played into factors at this time too was there was no parts available.
00:08:34
Speaker
No one had – pretty much if you – it was broken, there wasn't much way to fix it, right?
00:08:39
Speaker
I think that it was part of the, there was a game changer right around 2010 to 2012.
00:08:47
Speaker
I think it's twofold.
00:08:48
Speaker
One, I think Jersey Jack jumping in because Jersey Jack jumped in and said, we don't like what machine Stearns are making.
00:08:58
Speaker
We are going to do a different type of game.
00:09:04
Speaker
My impression is that lit a fire under Stern and Stern said, oh, we can step up our game.
00:09:10
Speaker
By the way, here's ACDC.
00:09:13
Speaker
Here's all these other games that they just took it up a notch.
00:09:16
Speaker
And so, one, they started making better games flat out.
Online Communities and Repair
00:09:20
Speaker
But two, you had this emerging online community that
00:09:27
Speaker
of people who's like, okay, I don't have a pinball guy who can repair machines here, but guess what?
00:09:34
Speaker
I have an internet.
00:09:36
Speaker
I have this online community, which I can figure out how to maintain a machine because the challenge was in 2005, you didn't really have that unless you knew someone how to fix a machine, your machine was broke and it was not going to get fixed.
00:09:51
Speaker
Yeah, because the media and the content back then, there was Rec Games Pinball, which was basically a Google group, but it's basically a text thread, right?
00:10:03
Speaker
And so your ability to show videos or to FaceTime with someone around the world, at least that I can remember, it didn't exist.
00:10:13
Speaker
It's also how much time do you have?
00:10:15
Speaker
How much time do you have to fix a game?
00:10:17
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, think about play field swaps today.
00:10:19
Speaker
Think about clear coding play fields.
00:10:22
Speaker
People did that back then, but that was super high-end restores, almost like what a high-end pin would be doing.
00:10:29
Speaker
I would never consider doing that back then.
00:10:33
Speaker
It seems that with the ability for people to learn how to work on their own machines...
00:10:40
Speaker
I think I would still be very nervous about board work, about doing electronics work.
00:10:47
Speaker
But if it's a mechanical part, I can pretty much figure that out.
00:10:50
Speaker
And I think that's where most people are when it comes to maintaining their games.
00:10:57
Speaker
A lot of the mechs have even been remade.
00:10:59
Speaker
So when I got into it, Cary Stare from Mantis Amusements had kind of come on the scene.
00:11:05
Speaker
And he was remaking a lot of the metal brackets that were breaking.
00:11:10
Speaker
So no good gophers, right?
00:11:13
Speaker
He was remaking all of those where before you're kind of, you're out of luck.
00:11:16
Speaker
Like if that breaks, I hope you can find someone who can weld that.
00:11:20
Speaker
Your game's going to be inoperable.
00:11:22
Speaker
So you've been in the hobby for a while now and you've just kind of grown up with it as you've moved on with life, correct?
00:11:28
Speaker
I've been kind of in and out of it, right?
00:11:31
Speaker
Cause I only own, I own one pinball machine today, even though I've been in the hobby, I'd say on and off for 23 years.
00:11:39
Speaker
That's kind of the thing about getting into the hobby when you're
Favorite Machines and Industry Insights
00:11:42
Speaker
You don't have money when you're 14.
00:11:44
Speaker
And your priorities and your life stages change from high school to college to married to kids to back to school to just getting a job to now it's my hobby fund is now a house fund.
00:11:58
Speaker
And so it continues to evolve for someone who may come into the hobby, say, 35, 40, 45 years old,
00:12:05
Speaker
They're probably more established as far as a hobby fund and a focus that they can then dump into the hobby.
00:12:12
Speaker
Yeah, and that's pretty much when I got into it.
00:12:14
Speaker
I got into it when I had the house, when I had the job.
00:12:18
Speaker
And over a year, I went kind of crazy.
00:12:21
Speaker
And I bought, I think, eight expensive machines in a year because I actually had a pool of funds that I was planning on building an entertainment area with.
00:12:33
Speaker
But yeah, so here's a question I have.
00:12:36
Speaker
So now you are getting into that age demographic where you can get the man cave.
00:12:42
Speaker
So if you were to pick your five to six, I'm going to assemble my lineup.
00:12:48
Speaker
What would they be?
00:12:50
Speaker
Jurassic Park Pro is first on the list.
00:12:54
Speaker
The Data East one, right?
00:12:59
Speaker
That was a good one.
00:13:00
Speaker
Stern Jurassic Park.
00:13:02
Speaker
That's my favorite newer Stern.
00:13:08
Speaker
I'd have to do some Chicago gaming remakes.
00:13:10
Speaker
So probably Medieval, Attack from Mars.
00:13:15
Speaker
Yeah, those are probably the four.
00:13:19
Speaker
So you basically stayed pretty new.
00:13:24
Speaker
If you're going back Attack from Mars and Medieval Madness, you're looking at 96 is the earliest you would have.
00:13:31
Speaker
So it'll be 90s Valley Williams or Newer Stern.
00:13:39
Speaker
We'll see what Jersey Jack brings up in the next year or two.
00:13:43
Speaker
Wizard of Oz is my favorite.
00:13:45
Speaker
of the ones, but I haven't played pirates yet.
00:13:47
Speaker
So pirates could be a contender.
00:13:50
Speaker
As someone who's played Pirates, I will say it's pretty amazing.
00:13:55
Speaker
It has a very similar epic game feel like Wizard of Oz.
00:14:00
Speaker
When you come up to Wizard of Oz, you know it's a different game, which is why they keep selling more and more Wizard of Oz machines, because it is different than a lot of the other games out there.
00:14:12
Speaker
And when you walk up to a Pirates...
00:14:16
Speaker
If Wizard of Oz had the kitchen sink, Pirates has like a lazy river and a pool and a bungee cord.
00:14:24
Speaker
It seems like there's nothing missing in that game.
00:14:28
Speaker
And the fact that it feels like a narrow, like a standard body versus a wide body is a testament to what Eric's done with the design.
00:14:40
Speaker
I really hope that when they keep cycling through, that they throw that back on the line because it's a crime that...
00:14:49
Speaker
They had a hard time getting it to market, and then people dropped off, and so they sold it a little bit, and then they moved on to Wonka.
00:14:57
Speaker
I really hope that now it's been out there and people are demanding it, that Jersey Jack does throw it back in the rotation because it would be a shame to have that epic game not be available.
00:15:11
Speaker
I really want to figure out a way to incorporate it into my collection at some point in the future.
00:15:18
Speaker
So Brad, what is it that appeals to you more about the pro than the premium Jurassic Park?
00:15:24
Speaker
Because right now everyone's like, it feels like it's missing something if you don't have the premium.
00:15:32
Speaker
It's as simple as that.
00:15:33
Speaker
Yeah, I know Scott didn't throw price, right?
00:15:35
Speaker
And price probably doesn't matter if you're picking five to seven.
00:15:38
Speaker
you know, games that are probably $40,000 to $60,000.
00:15:43
Speaker
But if I were just picking one game, you know, and say I had $5,000 or $6,000 to spend, it'd be Jurassic Park Pro today.
00:15:52
Speaker
And we're going to ask people who are listening, you can help out Brad right now by buying his Lost World, not the Jurassic Park one, but the one from 1980s, correct?
00:16:02
Speaker
As long as they don't listen to the Bowen Cairns, especially you guys did where he really talked up the game.
00:16:10
Speaker
So there's a lost world for sale and you would really help out Brad get that Jurassic Park pro he's eyeballing.
00:16:17
Speaker
So I haven't I haven't played the premium or the LE Jurassic Park yet.
00:16:22
Speaker
They look amazing because I think you have the is it the Raptor?
00:16:26
Speaker
cage on the left and then you have the T-Rex that comes down and eats the ball.
00:16:31
Speaker
But I was blown away.
00:16:33
Speaker
I think it's one of the best pros that Stern's put out in a while.
00:16:36
Speaker
I felt like a lot of people had to go to the premium at least to feel like they got the complete package.
00:16:42
Speaker
And I think they knocked it out of the park at a pro level to get everything in there that they did.
00:16:47
Speaker
You know, I think this Keith Elwin is going to be a force in pinball.
00:16:52
Speaker
Maybe people should hear about him.
00:16:54
Speaker
But, yeah, I think he'll be pretty good for a while.
00:16:58
Speaker
So you told us you're friends with Zach and Jody.
00:17:01
Speaker
What kind of secrets can you give us, you know, behind-the-scenes stuff that's going on?
00:17:05
Speaker
Yeah, what are the next five releases that they've told you?
00:17:07
Speaker
Hey, you guys are kind of breaking up.
00:17:14
Speaker
Well, I know I was talking to Zach the other day and he was telling me all the new releases coming out.
00:17:18
Speaker
So yeah, can't wait for my little pony.
00:17:23
Speaker
That'd be awesome.
00:17:25
Speaker
Hello Kitty Island adventure.
00:17:26
Speaker
It's going to be awesome.
00:17:28
Speaker
I've been told, though, you don't joke about Golden Girls.
00:17:30
Speaker
There is a certain segment or part of the pinball fandom that really wants Golden Girls, and they get very upset if it's joked about.
00:17:42
Speaker
Brad, I want to talk a little bit about how you and I met, because I found this actually quite funny.
00:17:48
Speaker
Why don't you tell your perspective of the story?
00:17:50
Speaker
Because I really...
00:17:53
Speaker
I didn't even realize it was not what I thought it was until we had been talking for about two hours.
00:17:58
Speaker
You want the perspective from a stalker?
00:18:03
Speaker
Well, no, you're not a stalker.
00:18:04
Speaker
That's the whole random thing.
00:18:07
Speaker
Until you hear the real story.
00:18:08
Speaker
So as you know, Pinside has a pinned map.
00:18:13
Speaker
And so I was going to be out recruiting for my company, I think, what, two weeks ago now.
00:18:18
Speaker
And so I was looking around the town that I was going to be in.
00:18:22
Speaker
because Pinside Map pins everyone.
00:18:25
Speaker
I was looking who of these people 20 minutes away from the campus had been on Pinside within the last month, and there were only two or three people that popped.
Collaboration and Art at the Expo
00:18:34
Speaker
So I messaged everyone asking for locations in that area that I could play pinball while I was doing some campus recruiting.
00:18:41
Speaker
And Scott was the only one that replied and gave me a few locations and said, here's some locations, or you could just come over and play at my house.
00:18:54
Speaker
So we met up and played pinball for about two hours and yeah, great host and super thankful that I had the opportunity to play your collection and meet you.
00:19:05
Speaker
But here's the funny thing.
00:19:06
Speaker
I just kind of assumed that I know that we're not a huge podcast, but I just kind of assumed that he's like, oh, I'm going to be in Utah.
00:19:15
Speaker
You know, Scott and Josh, they're from Utah.
00:19:18
Speaker
I'll be able to message them.
00:19:19
Speaker
So the whole time, I'm just assuming that, oh, well, he must be listening to the podcast.
00:19:24
Speaker
And I had no idea, one, that Brad did all these frame things.
00:19:28
Speaker
And two, he had no idea that we had a podcast.
00:19:31
Speaker
And so I really think that you were over at my house for about two hours before you even said, well, yeah, I do this thing on the side.
00:19:40
Speaker
And he's like, how'd you get into pinball?
00:19:42
Speaker
I'm like, wait, really?
00:19:46
Speaker
I think I've told the story a few times, but okay.
00:19:50
Speaker
We got, we got a podcast going on.
00:19:51
Speaker
He's like, oh, oh, okay.
00:19:57
Speaker
Yeah, no, it's just interesting how you make a lot of assumptions when you meet people and you're like, oh, well, that's completely different than what I thought.
00:20:08
Speaker
And actually, I will say Brad did when I said, yeah, well, I'm interested in getting some pinball art.
00:20:15
Speaker
Brad said, well, let me send out one of the frames and you can try it out and see what you think.
00:20:19
Speaker
And so Brad actually did send me one of these frames.
00:20:23
Speaker
And I will say, as someone who's had gone over to my friend's house, who's had a lot of these illuminated frames.
00:20:34
Speaker
This is a great frame and certainly a reasonable price for being able to get them and to frame your art.
00:20:41
Speaker
And so I, Brad's going to be at Expo.
00:20:44
Speaker
And so go and check him out and you'll be able to get a discount price right there because he's not having to ship it.
00:20:53
Speaker
You can just take it from him.
00:20:55
Speaker
And also what else do you have?
00:20:58
Speaker
Talk about your, the art connections that you have deals with that you're illuminating their stuff.
00:21:04
Speaker
Yes, there will be three different art pieces with Franchi and with Brian Allen.
00:21:11
Speaker
So I'm sure some of your listeners have heard about the Beetlejuice and the Superman 78 pinball machines that never came about.
00:21:20
Speaker
Partnered with Franchi to sell a limited edition signed and numbered 25 Beetlejuice translates and 25 Superman 78 translates.
00:21:31
Speaker
Those will be available at the show.
00:21:33
Speaker
if you want to pick them up with the frame.
00:21:34
Speaker
And then Brian Allen, who did the Monster Bash alternate, also just released the Attack from Mars alternative Translight.
00:21:42
Speaker
So I'll have some of those for sale as well at my booth, and he will be there for signing at his booth as well.
00:21:49
Speaker
So Beetlejuice Superman 78 and Attack from Mars, as well as frames that fit all those sizes.
00:21:57
Speaker
And then I'll have the 90s Williams Bally size frame as well.
00:22:01
Speaker
So if you have any of the
00:22:03
Speaker
the classic games from that era, I have a frame that will fit all of those translates.
00:22:08
Speaker
Well, and the other question I have now too is, I know that Brian Allen just posted that he still has some of the Monster Bash available.
00:22:17
Speaker
Well, he has one less because I bought one.
00:22:20
Speaker
Or I'm buying one.
00:22:21
Speaker
And then do you know if Franchi will be...
00:22:24
Speaker
teaming up with you to do the Wonder Woman because he did just release that artwork.
00:22:29
Speaker
I think it was this last week or the week before that he did for the original Wonder Woman series that came out 30 years ago.
00:22:35
Speaker
We have not talked about Wonder Woman.
00:22:37
Speaker
I'd say this art project probably kicked off two months ago.
00:22:41
Speaker
And so I think Wonder Woman, was that within the last week or so was released?
00:22:47
Speaker
I'd love to partner up with them.
00:22:49
Speaker
I think, you know, we see how Expo goes.
00:22:53
Speaker
About half of those Beetlejuice have already been pre-sold and Expo hasn't even happened yet.
00:22:58
Speaker
And so I think anyone that has seen Franchi Art knows the value.
00:23:05
Speaker
And we're only doing 25, which I'd say is a truly limited run of these.
00:23:10
Speaker
And so, yeah, if you want them, drop by my booth, litframes at Expo, and be happy to hook you up.
00:23:18
Speaker
Can they message you beforehand and reserve one?
00:23:21
Speaker
So litframeshop at gmail.com is my email.
00:23:25
Speaker
If you want to prepay, maybe either hold one and you'll pick it up at Expo.
00:23:30
Speaker
I'm also willing to ship.
00:23:32
Speaker
If you can't make it to Expo,
00:23:34
Speaker
I understand not everyone lives near Chicago.
00:23:37
Speaker
We're just making the trip out.
00:23:39
Speaker
Happy to work with you there.
00:23:42
Speaker
And spell out Lit Frames.
00:23:44
Speaker
Yeah, so L-I-T-F-R-A-M-E-S-H-O-P at gmail.com.
00:23:52
Speaker
Lit Frameshop at gmail.com.
00:23:56
Speaker
And we'll definitely put that in the show notes as well.
00:24:01
Speaker
Is this your first time at Expo or –
00:24:03
Speaker
This is my second time.
00:24:05
Speaker
I think the last time I went was maybe 15 years ago, which is crazy because it's only an hour away.
00:24:12
Speaker
But yeah, lived away for about 10 years.
00:24:17
Speaker
You're going to have to blog or something, or even Facebook, the total differences between 15 years ago to this year.
00:24:25
Speaker
I mean, 15 years, that was like 04, wasn't it?
00:24:30
Speaker
You saw the release of Lord of the Rings.
00:24:35
Speaker
Yeah, you had Gary up there dressed as a hobbit.
00:24:40
Speaker
So we'll have to touch base with you and actually circle around and see what you feel the difference is.
00:24:48
Speaker
I'm guessing the big one will be – there will actually be manufacturers there, plural.
00:24:53
Speaker
So that will be super exciting just to see their different booths and experiences.
00:24:58
Speaker
Last time it was basically Stern had their latest game and then tournaments and a vendor hall.
00:25:08
Speaker
It just, I don't know.
00:25:09
Speaker
It's mind blowing to me.
00:25:10
Speaker
Cause it's like, yeah, we've talked about this multiple times.
00:25:15
Speaker
Like the movie special when lit, just watching how there was like no one there.
00:25:20
Speaker
And now you look at it and it's like,
00:25:23
Speaker
I mean, look at the IFPA.
00:25:24
Speaker
This is just competitive pinball.
00:25:26
Speaker
And I do – there's a lot of people that say competitive pinball and tournament pinball turn people off.
00:25:31
Speaker
And I kind of believe that to a point.
00:25:33
Speaker
But we have over 75,000 registered people to IFPA.
00:25:34
Speaker
That's insane to me.
00:25:36
Speaker
75,000 people is – it's awesome.
00:25:42
Speaker
And that's just the competitive part.
00:25:43
Speaker
That's not just the casual goers.
00:25:46
Speaker
That's not, you know what I'm saying?
00:25:48
Speaker
Well, it's people who have actually entered a real tournament.
00:25:51
Speaker
And I know there are people who can look at the downside of that and say, okay, well, so look at the people who regularly play and it's probably only the top 2,000 or 3,000.
00:26:02
Speaker
Okay, you can say that.
00:26:03
Speaker
But you could also say, hey, there's almost 70,000 people who have tried a tournament.
00:26:09
Speaker
And if you can get any of those to latch on and to become a fan, you're growing the sport.
00:26:19
Speaker
So what are you looking forward to at Expo besides selling 100 frames?
00:26:24
Speaker
Looking forward to playing Pirates.
00:26:30
Speaker
the new Star Wars.
00:26:31
Speaker
I know it's the same as the old Star Wars.
00:26:33
Speaker
I haven't played the old Star Wars yet, though.
00:26:35
Speaker
So I think just playing a lot of the new games I haven't played.
00:26:38
Speaker
I don't get out to location play as much.
00:26:40
Speaker
There's Galloping Ghost, Pinball, which is probably half an hour from me, and then a bunch of arcades.
00:26:45
Speaker
Dude, have you not played the... Oh, crap.
00:26:49
Speaker
What's the Skip B one?
00:26:51
Speaker
Have you not played Predator at Galloping Ghost?
00:26:52
Speaker
I have played it at Galloping Ghost.
00:26:54
Speaker
That and I think Alien.
00:26:56
Speaker
Aren't they side by side?
00:26:59
Speaker
How is both of them?
00:27:01
Speaker
So I only played a game or two because Jack Danger was streaming that night.
00:27:06
Speaker
This was maybe a month or two ago.
00:27:08
Speaker
So he was there streaming, I think, Predator and Alien.
00:27:11
Speaker
So by the time I got to them, they were closing.
00:27:14
Speaker
So I only got about one game.
00:27:17
Speaker
Fun to play, but I couldn't give you a review on it.
00:27:21
Speaker
No worries, no worries.
Gameplay Comparisons
00:27:23
Speaker
Do they actually have rules with Predator?
00:27:27
Speaker
Or is it just a light box that flips?
00:27:32
Speaker
I didn't even know they made one.
00:27:36
Speaker
So I'm a little surprised that there's one on location.
00:27:39
Speaker
It's like one of the only ones in existence in my understanding.
00:27:42
Speaker
Well, but I'm just wondering like what, what kind of rules they possibly do.
00:27:45
Speaker
And that's impressive that they even got a predator flipping machine since they couldn't get a magic girl flipping machine.
00:27:53
Speaker
I don't know about rules.
00:27:54
Speaker
I wonder if Jack danger has it on his stream.
00:27:57
Speaker
I thought he streamed it.
00:28:00
Speaker
And I, um, or either that, or if I remember correctly, he like refused to stream it because it shuts down during like ball three.
00:28:08
Speaker
There's not enough there to keep it going.
00:28:10
Speaker
And so it was like, do I stream it?
00:28:12
Speaker
And then it shut down.
00:28:13
Speaker
Like with how much time it takes to set up to stream, it's not worth it to stream something that's going to be very finicky and then shut down on you.
00:28:21
Speaker
And so I'm pretty for sure that's what it was.
00:28:23
Speaker
Because we all joked, like, you got to stream it.
00:28:25
Speaker
You got to stream it.
00:28:26
Speaker
And then Jack was like, it's guys, it's like a turd.
00:28:29
Speaker
Like, I don't want to set up just to just to stream something, just to find something else to stream.
00:28:33
Speaker
So, well, OK, I will say it is super pretty.
00:28:38
Speaker
They at least nailed that 80s vibe with it.
00:28:43
Speaker
So, you know, whichever art.
00:28:45
Speaker
I guarantee if anyone had that in their collection, it's an eye grabber just because you've got two human skulls and spines dripping with blood hanging off the back box.
00:28:54
Speaker
You can't tell me that.
00:28:55
Speaker
That wouldn't catch everyone's eye walking into your collection.
00:28:58
Speaker
They might be concerned, but they catch your eye.
00:29:01
Speaker
I'm just going to put it downstairs and my eight and six and four year old will come down though.
00:29:04
Speaker
They'll love that.
00:29:07
Speaker
So, well, speaking of scared stiff, uh, Brad used to own that.
00:29:12
Speaker
What do you think of the new Elvira?
00:29:13
Speaker
Are you excited to play that at expo?
00:29:17
Speaker
Uh, I love scared stiff.
00:29:19
Speaker
Uh, I love the humor in it.
00:29:21
Speaker
Uh, it's, uh, yeah, I'm excited to play it.
00:29:26
Speaker
I haven't watched any of the streams yet.
00:29:29
Speaker
on the game gameplay.
00:29:30
Speaker
I don't know if you guys have watched many of the streams.
00:29:33
Speaker
I've watched the reveal stream with Jack Danger and Dance Norman and Lyman Sheets, and it was pretty good.
00:29:39
Speaker
I like the direction.
00:29:41
Speaker
You can obviously tell.
00:29:43
Speaker
It's got really good bones, so the play field looks like it shoots really well.
00:29:46
Speaker
But that code, you know Lyman, man.
00:29:49
Speaker
He's got to put the cherry on top.
00:29:50
Speaker
So it's starting code, but it looks good from what I saw.
00:29:55
Speaker
So would you pick Elvira or Munsters, based on what you know?
00:29:59
Speaker
Elvira, hands down.
00:30:01
Speaker
I find monsters fun.
00:30:02
Speaker
It's not super deep, but not every game you have needs to be super deep.
00:30:08
Speaker
The game that I come down and play the most in my collection is Iron Man.
00:30:13
Speaker
And really, it's not that deep of a game.
00:30:16
Speaker
If I can get to the wizard mode in Iron Man, it's not that deep.
00:30:20
Speaker
But I still have a fun time playing it.
00:30:23
Speaker
And so like, I'm not, I know there's a lot of, there's a lot of people who are bagging on monsters, but really what they were shooting, what they were shooting for.
00:30:32
Speaker
I think it's a good game.
00:30:34
Speaker
I think the problem is though, and this is just my personal opinion.
00:30:37
Speaker
I own a monster bash.
00:30:39
Speaker
Um, and it's, they're always compared to each other.
00:30:43
Speaker
Um, because just the way that the game set up and everything, I would prefer to have a monster basher than a monsters.
00:30:50
Speaker
And so I guess that's where that plays into it.
00:30:51
Speaker
Cause I'm like, well, a Vyra feels something different.
00:30:54
Speaker
Like I've never owned a scared stiff.
00:30:56
Speaker
I've never owned, uh, I don't think I've honestly ever known it owned a Norman game.
00:31:01
Speaker
Uh, even though some of his are my favorites, like white water and, and scared stiff.
00:31:06
Speaker
And, uh, we were talking Indy 500.
00:31:08
Speaker
That's another good one too.
00:31:10
Speaker
So I guess there's a lot that plays into it.
00:31:13
Speaker
If you're just putting them side by side and you never own any game, I honestly probably still take Elvira, but that's just me, I guess.
00:31:20
Speaker
Sure, but you're also paying more for Elvira.
00:31:24
Speaker
I thought we were doing our prize wheel thing here.
00:31:28
Speaker
It was like, what's behind door one or two?
00:31:30
Speaker
How about a Monsters Premium?
00:31:33
Speaker
That's the same price, right?
00:31:39
Speaker
The challenge I have with those games is a lot of the time you have a lower play field and ends up being kind of a...
00:31:47
Speaker
It's, there's not really much to do.
00:31:50
Speaker
It's like the Congo, you know, you just have Amy, you flail the buttons and you eventually just, you know, spell all the letters.
00:31:56
Speaker
And with the Munsters one, it, it's okay, but there's, it's, it's a small diversion for the entire field.
00:32:05
Speaker
with Elvira having a lot more going on.
00:32:08
Speaker
The one thing that disappoints me about Elvira, just from an aesthetic view, is that Nordman is known for having something that his games look different.
00:32:21
Speaker
If you look at the big ramps, the sweeping ramps, visually they are different than your standard ramps.
00:32:29
Speaker
I'm not downgrading a fan layout because there's a reason why a lot of the great games are fan layouts.
00:32:36
Speaker
And so for him to try a typical fan layout says that, hey, he's mixing up and trying things.
00:32:45
Speaker
But visually, it's different.
00:32:47
Speaker
It's not like Deadpool that has the Katana ramp.
00:32:50
Speaker
That is a big, long shot that goes all the way across the playfield.
00:32:56
Speaker
You know, it goes right, then left and circles around and ends up on the right again.
00:33:00
Speaker
And so visually, it's completely different.
00:33:03
Speaker
So I'd be curious to see how it feels when you're playing it, because it's not the Boney Beast ramp.
00:33:10
Speaker
It's not the, you know, the whitewater ramps that are huge and flowing, you know, and Sandy falls.
00:33:18
Speaker
But it certainly would be interesting, I guess.
00:33:22
Speaker
Well, but in Elvira, the new one, Norman did put in a whitewater ramp.
00:33:27
Speaker
He put in the disaster drop ramp, the one that comes around and then drops.
00:33:32
Speaker
It's above the whole playfield and it just drops onto the playfield.
00:33:38
Speaker
So let's talk Expo.
00:33:42
Speaker
We're on Sunday night, so there might be information.
00:33:45
Speaker
Knowing our luck, we're going to speculate.
00:33:47
Speaker
And then tomorrow morning, this week in pinball is probably going to come out and be like, by the way, this is what's coming out this week.
00:33:53
Speaker
So let's do some speculations really quick.
00:33:57
Speaker
Flipping out pinball with Ryan White, not this last week, but the week before, Ryan White of Chicago Gaming.
00:34:04
Speaker
went on and said that they're going to be re-releasing Medieval Madness soon.
00:34:11
Speaker
He didn't say when, he didn't say how they're going to do it.
00:34:16
Speaker
But my question is, it's got to be time, right?
00:34:21
Speaker
Logan Arcades had the Medieval Madness with the giant DMD, like the Attack for Mars and Monster Bash, for almost a year now, if I remember correctly.
00:34:33
Speaker
Like, do you release Monster Medieval Madness no matter what with the large DMD?
00:34:38
Speaker
Are people going to buy it without it?
00:34:39
Speaker
You know what I'm saying?
00:34:41
Speaker
So I think they'll buy it.
00:34:43
Speaker
I think they'll buy it.
00:34:46
Speaker
Medieval Madness is their evergreen title.
00:34:49
Speaker
That's their version of the Wizard of Oz for Jersey Jack.
00:34:54
Speaker
They will keep selling those.
00:34:56
Speaker
And with scalability of manufacturing, you can make 20 or 30 at a time.
00:35:05
Speaker
And you don't have to just keep making them until you're done and then move on like Williams used to.
00:35:12
Speaker
But the thing, this is where I'm getting at.
00:35:14
Speaker
So we all know that a large DMD is coming.
00:35:16
Speaker
Let's say Chicago Gaming shows up at Expo and says, hey, we're doing a new line, but we're doing it without the large screen.
00:35:27
Speaker
Like you can only buy the standard screen.
00:35:30
Speaker
Do you think people are going to buy it knowing that there's a large DMD coming sometimes?
00:35:39
Speaker
So I, I have a medieval madness remake, a standard one.
00:35:42
Speaker
I don't have the Ellie.
00:35:44
Speaker
I have a standard one.
00:35:46
Speaker
It, it plays great.
00:35:47
Speaker
My, my friend has an Ellie and it plays, I don't notice much of a difference or any difference.
00:35:56
Speaker
Um, we both have the upgraded color DMD.
00:35:59
Speaker
Uh, and so it is the, the high density pixelated dots.
00:36:06
Speaker
Would I, if I had the choice between the small one and the big one, would I, would I go the smaller one?
00:36:16
Speaker
But I was talking to my friend about it last week and we brought up the large color DMD and he said, oh yeah, I'm going to upgrade.
00:36:25
Speaker
And I, and I thought, you know, I'm probably not, I I'm fine with the size of it, size of it.
00:36:31
Speaker
And it's visually spectacular enough for me.
00:36:36
Speaker
I'm sure the upgrade kit, because it'll be a new back box, it'll be new speakers, and it's not going to be cheap.
00:36:44
Speaker
And even the chip upgrade for Medieval Madness was $400.
00:36:49
Speaker
So I've already spent $400 to get the upgraded chip.
00:36:54
Speaker
Am I going to spend another $1,000 to basically get a bigger visual thing?
00:37:05
Speaker
I'm not, but I can see them transitioning from that to the expanded one and people saying, yeah, that's fine.
00:37:15
Speaker
I don't feel gypped though having the smaller one.
00:37:18
Speaker
Let's ask you this question since you're looking for the medieval madness in your dream collection.
00:37:24
Speaker
If you get to Expo this week and Chicago Gaming is like, okay, we're releasing this bad boy, but it's only the small screen.
00:37:30
Speaker
We're holding off on the large screen for right now.
00:37:33
Speaker
You had the money, the cash.
00:37:34
Speaker
Would you hold off or would you say, hey, I'm buying it right now?
00:37:38
Speaker
I would buy a used one and wait for the big one.
00:37:44
Speaker
That's, that's acceptable.
00:37:46
Speaker
Ironically, I don't see much of a price difference between like right now, there still isn't a big market for the, the secondary market on these.
00:37:58
Speaker
I really haven't seen a difference.
00:38:00
Speaker
So for the, for the larger screen, did you say that's a wider, a wider back box?
00:38:07
Speaker
No, it's the same back box.
00:38:09
Speaker
And so I'm looking at, so I have a medieval madness remake and I have an attack from Mars, L E like the remake.
00:38:18
Speaker
And if you look at the back glass, it's it is a much bigger, bigger screen, an LCD screen that covers almost to the side rails.
00:38:31
Speaker
And so it looks like about two inches deeper on each side.
00:38:36
Speaker
And so it's obviously higher too.
00:38:39
Speaker
Just think of it as like taking your screen and just grabbing the edges and stretching them out in the same aspect ratio.
00:38:48
Speaker
But it's still the same density, though.
00:38:51
Speaker
Like, the Attack from Mars LE, it has the higher density.
00:38:57
Speaker
They did pixelation, so they tried to keep it period-era appropriate, I guess.
00:39:04
Speaker
But it's kind of like going from Nintendo to Genesis where it went from 8-bit to 16-bit where you're getting four dots in the size of one dot.
00:39:15
Speaker
And so you can do a lot more stuff and it looks better.
00:39:19
Speaker
But right now it's the smaller screen.
00:39:22
Speaker
And so it's just more concentrated, I guess.
00:39:24
Speaker
So would the kit be a speaker panel with the color display and the speakers?
00:39:31
Speaker
And you're saying that's $1,000?
00:39:34
Speaker
Well, that's the rumor.
00:39:35
Speaker
No, that's what's worth speculating.
00:39:37
Speaker
The rumor is, and basically, you have to think at it from a Chicago gaming company standpoint.
00:39:44
Speaker
If I'm going to swap out my back panel and they're going to manufacture it, so they need a new back panel, they need a new LCD screen, and they need two speakers, like how much of that, a color DMD itself is $400.
00:40:05
Speaker
And so if they're going to incorporate that, but still make some money on it, I would guess that it would be $1,000 because I spent $400 for the chip that upgraded the two colors from the green.
00:40:20
Speaker
So you think it's going to be $500 to $600 just for the speakers and the panel?
00:40:25
Speaker
Well, I think for the entire package, I'm guessing.
00:40:28
Speaker
Hey, maybe they'll surprise me.
00:40:30
Speaker
Maybe it'll be a $500 thing and I'll say, sure, go ahead.
00:40:34
Speaker
Well, here's the other thing I'm thinking too.
00:40:36
Speaker
So you release, you do another run of Medieval Madness, right?
00:40:43
Speaker
their model right now is do your standard that's what you would have got back in the 90s, your special, which is the larger display screen and the illuminated speaker panel, and then a little bit of bells and whistles here and there.
00:40:57
Speaker
And then you've got your LE.
00:40:59
Speaker
Well, the LE is the one with the illuminated speakers and the topper.
00:41:04
Speaker
And the extra lighting package.
00:41:06
Speaker
So I guess my question is, do you think CGC then comes out and says, hey –
00:41:12
Speaker
we're going to do the three tier model again, and we're going to make a topper for this.
00:41:16
Speaker
And we're going to do a large display screen.
00:41:19
Speaker
And we're just pretty much going to do like we would with everything else, but just run a, run a fresh new batch on this.
00:41:28
Speaker
I, I don't know if they would do that just because you already sold the original LEs.
00:41:37
Speaker
Would you, just from a PR standpoint, this is the problem that Jersey Jack runs into, right?
00:41:44
Speaker
When they say, hey, this is an LE, but really when you look at the numbers and saying, well, LE is probably just the standard one that everybody's going to buy.
00:41:55
Speaker
And they're probably not going to run out of the numbers and they'll come back and just make as many as they need.
00:42:02
Speaker
But with the Medieval Madness, it was an LE.
00:42:07
Speaker
And they sold out in three days.
00:42:09
Speaker
So can you do that?
00:42:12
Speaker
Can you do that from a PR standpoint to say, okay, we're doing another LE that's similar to the Attack from Mars?
00:42:18
Speaker
I have mixed feelings in that.
00:42:20
Speaker
One, I didn't do the LE because they weren't available when I bought my MMR.
00:42:24
Speaker
But I can understand how an original purchaser would say, wow, really?
00:42:31
Speaker
But I also understand, I look at what they did for Attack from Mars and I look at what they did for Monster Bash and that would be really cool to have a similar treatment for Medieval Madness.
00:42:42
Speaker
Well, that's the other thing I was going to bring up too.
00:42:44
Speaker
Look at Attack from Mars.
00:42:46
Speaker
All those that bought the Standard Edition bought it for, correct me if I'm wrong, $500 more.
00:42:52
Speaker
But when Monster Bash came out and they dropped the price lower for the Standard for the Monster Bash, they also did it for the Attack from Mars.
00:42:59
Speaker
just because they want to keep their pricing cool.
00:43:02
Speaker
So there's a lot of questions that are floating around in my mind.
00:43:05
Speaker
Cause it's like, does that mean that when they do the re-release and they do a standard edition, they drop the price of the medieval madness then to the standard edition as well?
00:43:15
Speaker
I, I paid 8,000 for mine.
00:43:17
Speaker
So I paid 8,000 and then I paid shipping cause it wasn't included.
00:43:21
Speaker
So add shipping on top of that.
00:43:23
Speaker
And then I paid $400 for the chip.
00:43:27
Speaker
Now, there's more to Medieval Madness.
00:43:32
Speaker
You have the castle.
00:43:33
Speaker
You have the dragon ramp.
00:43:37
Speaker
There is more there than Attack from Mars and Monster Bash.
00:43:42
Speaker
And so you could argue that you're paying for more mechs.
00:43:49
Speaker
Because I believe Attack from Mars was $8,500. $8,500.
00:43:58
Speaker
Um, I, I wasn't mine.
00:44:01
Speaker
I thought it was 83.
00:44:02
Speaker
I thought it was 8,300.
00:44:04
Speaker
Well, maybe that's what you, you bought it for.
00:44:06
Speaker
I bought it for 85.
00:44:07
Speaker
So no, I didn't buy it for 83.
00:44:09
Speaker
I bought mine for less than that.
00:44:11
Speaker
Cause I know who sold it to you.
00:44:14
Speaker
That guy's a drunk driver when it comes to collecting.
00:44:20
Speaker
I have two of his games, so we're fine.
00:44:24
Speaker
Okay, so that's our speculation on CGC.
00:44:29
Speaker
Brad, you were talking about... That's the speculation on MMR, but do you think they're going to release another game?
00:44:37
Speaker
I think the nice part for CGC themselves is they can kind of sit back and do what they want.
00:44:45
Speaker
So they're not in a hurry.
00:44:47
Speaker
It's like, why hurry to put out...
00:44:50
Speaker
The rumored, we're not confirming this, Cactus Canyon, which everyone's hearing that anyway, but do you rush it?
00:44:58
Speaker
That's another one too, Brad.
00:45:01
Speaker
That's another one too, Brad.
00:45:01
Speaker
Is that one that you'd buy?
00:45:03
Speaker
Have you played a Cactus Canyon?
00:45:07
Speaker
It would be on the list if it was continued.
00:45:10
Speaker
I'm not as interested in the regular one.
00:45:14
Speaker
Yeah, they never finished it.
00:45:15
Speaker
So I think right now it's an undetermined.
00:45:19
Speaker
Well, and the rumor is it's not going to be Cactus Canyon continued, but it's actually they've paid the original
New Releases and Artwork Debate
00:45:25
Speaker
software designer to come in and finish the rest of the code of what his vision was for Cactus Canyon.
00:45:34
Speaker
Hey, I think it'd be great.
00:45:36
Speaker
It's one of those where I'm –
00:45:39
Speaker
I guess I'm less interested in the game because when I look at, I look at games and I try to take the, the nostalgia element out of it.
00:45:49
Speaker
And the reason why Cactus Canyon is so expensive is because of the rarity.
00:45:54
Speaker
It's, it's really not because of the gameplay, it's the rarity.
00:45:57
Speaker
And so when you take the rarity away,
00:46:00
Speaker
Is it going to be as value?
00:46:02
Speaker
It's the same thing as Big Bang Bar.
00:46:04
Speaker
And there's a really interesting story behind Big Bang Bar.
00:46:07
Speaker
But is it going to hold up if you could buy that for $7,000, $8,000?
00:46:15
Speaker
When you could buy a Jurassic Park premium for that, which I mean, arguably is a newer game.
00:46:22
Speaker
It has 20 years more development.
00:46:24
Speaker
But if you have the money in your pocket, which one are you going to buy?
00:46:29
Speaker
So for me, I think – and this might just be me, but I really think Cactus Canyon is a fun shooter.
00:46:35
Speaker
I don't know if I've ever gotten in far enough to where the code's puttered out, and I'm like, what's going on here?
00:46:41
Speaker
And like I said, I've only played it on my phone, so I might not have a better understanding.
00:46:47
Speaker
But I've gotten all the way through to the wizard mode because it's just kind of like Attack for Mars and Medieval Madness where you've got to –
00:46:57
Speaker
you shoot the shots and then, um, you've got the sheriff, um, star in the middle of the play field.
00:47:05
Speaker
And there's five different things you got to complete to get to the wizard mode.
00:47:09
Speaker
And so, I mean, to me, it wasn't like it was terrible by any means.
00:47:13
Speaker
Like I've played definitely worse out there.
00:47:16
Speaker
I wouldn't spend, what does cactus can you go for before they announced they're going to remake it like 20 grand?
00:47:23
Speaker
And it was, it was in the 15 to 20, uh,
00:47:26
Speaker
So I wouldn't, I would never pay that much for it.
00:47:28
Speaker
But if they came out and said the standard was the six to 6,500, whatever it is, I'd be intrigued, especially if the code's all the way finished.
00:47:37
Speaker
You know, it's, it's interesting though, because when you look at it, I just looked at the two designers that are listed as doing this game.
00:47:46
Speaker
And I've never even heard of these guys.
00:47:50
Speaker
I don't even know how to pronounce this guy's name.
00:47:51
Speaker
Matt Correale and Tom Copura.
00:47:58
Speaker
Like, I haven't heard any of these guys.
00:48:00
Speaker
Like, when I click on their profile, they're still in the industry.
00:48:05
Speaker
So Tom helped out on Elvira, helped out on Game of Thrones, and it looks like he's in the mechanics design team.
00:48:15
Speaker
And if you look at, sorry, I'm flipping back and forth.
00:48:20
Speaker
And if you look at Matt, Matt has been listed on Cactus Canyon was the last game.
00:48:29
Speaker
He did software on Safecracker, No Fear software, World Cup soccer software, and Star Trek Next Generation software.
00:48:37
Speaker
And those are all really great titles.
00:48:39
Speaker
Well, they are, but it's interesting because that's a big difference between being a designer and a software guy or a designer and a mechanics guy.
00:48:47
Speaker
So that's, that's interesting that they, they got together on that, but yeah, it's an estimated price of Cactus Canyon is a 11,500, but I bet that's come down significantly after Chicago game company got back into the game.
00:49:06
Speaker
New Star Wars artwork coming out.
00:49:09
Speaker
You were talking about this, Brad.
00:49:10
Speaker
You said that you saw it and you'd be excited to play it.
00:49:14
Speaker
Does the artwork change your thoughts on the game?
00:49:16
Speaker
Yeah, it's interesting.
00:49:17
Speaker
I saw the artwork and then I went into work the next day and the girl next to me had a Star Wars coffee mug on her desk.
00:49:25
Speaker
And I said, oh, I have some to show you.
00:49:27
Speaker
So I sent her a picture of the new Star Wars pinball, the artwork.
00:49:31
Speaker
It seems more shareable, exciting, nostalgic.
00:49:35
Speaker
Back to how I envision Star Wars should be.
00:49:39
Speaker
The original artwork is Star Wars, but it's not
00:49:43
Speaker
When I think Star Wars art or I think Spider-Man or any of the Marvel type artwork, pinball is an art piece, right?
00:49:50
Speaker
It's a piece of furniture that has artwork wrapped all around it.
00:49:55
Speaker
The new Star Wars I would want in my family room, not the older version.
00:50:00
Speaker
I guess I have a different opinion.
00:50:05
Speaker
I look at the artwork and I think it is.
00:50:07
Speaker
I think it's great.
00:50:10
Speaker
It feels very early Star Wars because I grew up with Star Wars.
00:50:16
Speaker
So, you know, Star Wars came out when I was three years old and then I grew up in the heyday of it.
00:50:22
Speaker
I still remember going to Empire Strikes Back when I was seven years old.
00:50:26
Speaker
And thinking it was amazing, which was completely different than when I took my seven-year-old to Last Jedi.
00:50:30
Speaker
And after 30 minutes, he turned to me and said, how much longer, Dad?
00:50:34
Speaker
So when I look at the hand-drawn art, it feels very early Star Wars, if that makes sense.
00:50:46
Speaker
If you look at the early art release on Star Wars, it's very 70s.
00:50:54
Speaker
It feels very 70s.
00:50:55
Speaker
It feels Luke is there with his chest open and in almost this Conan the Barbarian pose.
00:51:03
Speaker
And it feels very 70s.
00:51:07
Speaker
And then it transitions when you look at the...
00:51:11
Speaker
Art for Empire Strikes Back, where the Empire Strikes Back is a little more photorealistic.
00:51:18
Speaker
And same thing with Return of the Jedi.
00:51:20
Speaker
And so by doing this trilogy game, but capturing the art period at the very beginning, I prefer the...
00:51:32
Speaker
I prefer the new art package.
00:51:35
Speaker
Actually, two of the translates I want to get for your light boxes is I want to get the Star Wars premium and the Star Wars original because it looks very Star Wars-esque to me.
00:51:51
Speaker
I also appreciate people saying, no, I really like the old nostalgic one.
00:51:56
Speaker
When I look at that art, it feels a little more like Star Wars holiday special to me.
00:52:02
Speaker
But I know that I am in the minority.
00:52:04
Speaker
I completely admit I'm in the minority.
00:52:07
Speaker
Yeah, the original just feels plain.
00:52:09
Speaker
I mean, it's true to Star Wars, but if I look at it from an art piece perspective or from someone who doesn't really know pinball, this, the new one, is what my wife would want in the basement from an art piece, not the old one.
00:52:25
Speaker
She loves Lost World pinball because of the artwork.
00:52:28
Speaker
She could care less about the gameplay.
00:52:31
Speaker
Because it looks good.
00:52:35
Speaker
And that's completely fair.
00:52:36
Speaker
I like that it certainly captures a stylistic view.
00:52:44
Speaker
I certainly can appreciate that.
00:52:47
Speaker
Well, what's crazy to me is they released the new artwork, and there was a handful of Star Wars pins up on Pinside within eight hours.
00:52:58
Speaker
I mean, it just got flooded with Star Wars.
00:53:02
Speaker
I mean, I guess the resounding thing is people want the new artwork, and so –
00:53:13
Speaker
I think there's more to that game that needs to be fixed than just slapping a new coat of paint on it.
00:53:17
Speaker
But that's just me.
00:53:18
Speaker
Well, the challenge with it is when you have...
00:53:24
Speaker
When you have the artwork, and this is the challenge with working with something like Lucas, and it's the same type of challenge when you're looking at Wonka.
00:53:36
Speaker
And I still hold to my original assessment that Wonka, it looks a little bit like a cereal box.
00:53:43
Speaker
If you were going to go by Wonka Charms, that's basically the art package you were going to get.
00:53:49
Speaker
Because it feels very much a, okay, we're controlling the brand.
00:53:52
Speaker
We want to be exactly what we say.
00:53:55
Speaker
And so we're going to use that iconic brand.
00:53:59
Speaker
pose of Gene Wilder, but we're going to use it like five times on the game.
00:54:03
Speaker
And that's how I feel the Star Wars.
00:54:07
Speaker
They seem to be locked into, hey, I'm going to use those iconic photos.
00:54:13
Speaker
And that's when they talk about the art package feels a little bit like a sticker collage, right?
00:54:21
Speaker
It's if you got, okay, here's Luke, assemble him on the play field, but it's the exact pose that you've seen for 30 years.
00:54:28
Speaker
And I can understand Lucas being very jealous about trying to maintain the integrity of the original trilogy.
00:54:39
Speaker
Not so much Last Jedi, because let's just destroy everything that people like about Star Wars with Last Jedi.
00:54:43
Speaker
But let's talk about the original.
00:54:45
Speaker
And so he tried to keep it as focused as they could without taking risks.
00:54:52
Speaker
I'm really surprised that they even went this way.
00:54:56
Speaker
new way with this hand-drawn art because it's still very similar pose, but it feels very different.
00:55:03
Speaker
I was going to say, you look at the play field and I feel like the play field is the exact same thing.
00:55:07
Speaker
Just stylized like the cartoon.
00:55:14
Speaker
Star Wars is polarizing and it's whatever floats your boat really at this time.
00:55:18
Speaker
I don't know what else to really say about Star Wars.
00:55:23
Speaker
It's just, it is what it is.
00:55:24
Speaker
I don't know what to say.
00:55:26
Speaker
I love the, maybe it's just because I'm an Empire Strikes Back fan boy, but I love the side art on the premium where it has the Battle of Hoth.
00:55:36
Speaker
I mean, that's what I would buy.
00:55:41
Speaker
So I want to move on to, I know that, man, Stern's been on fire right now.
00:55:46
Speaker
Wouldn't you guys agree?
00:55:47
Speaker
I mean, we've had four releases in 90 days, I think is what it is, between Jurassic Park, Star Wars, the pin, Elvira.
00:55:56
Speaker
And now if you count Star Wars with the new artwork, I mean, that's four new pins coming off the line.
00:56:02
Speaker
Or not new, but you know what I mean.
00:56:06
Speaker
Three out of the four, you know?
00:56:08
Speaker
And everyone's always... No one's ever satisfied with what's out right now.
00:56:12
Speaker
They want to know what's coming, right?
00:56:13
Speaker
So I've done a little digging for you guys.
00:56:17
Speaker
So we're going to rewind the clocks.
00:56:21
Speaker
Iron Maiden was released in 2017 from Elwynn.
00:56:25
Speaker
I don't know what you'd count Beatles as.
00:56:27
Speaker
I can't remember if it's a cornerstone.
00:56:29
Speaker
I know Scott and I and Brad have been talking about this off screen.
00:56:34
Speaker
It's a Kapow title, but I just don't know if it counted as a cornerstone because of the pricing and everything that was involved.
00:56:42
Speaker
So also in 2017, then you had Deadpool by Gomez, which was originally supposed to be Trudeau, but Gomez stepped in because of issues.
00:56:51
Speaker
Let's just move on.
00:56:53
Speaker
If you don't know, if you want to research it, go for it.
00:57:00
Speaker
It's weird to me, though, that in 2018, we only had Iron Maiden and Deadpool.
00:57:04
Speaker
If you don't count Beatles, those were the only two cornerstones in that whole year.
00:57:08
Speaker
They did release Primus, but that was obviously... That was a contract game.
00:57:13
Speaker
And then starting January of this year, we had Borg did Monsters.
00:57:20
Speaker
We had Richie did Black Knight Sword of Rage.
00:57:23
Speaker
Elwynn shows up again with Jurassic Park.
00:57:26
Speaker
And this is that 13 to 14 month window.
00:57:29
Speaker
So if we go by this window, so Elwin Gomez Borg, Richie Elwin, the next one should be Brian Eddie, because I assume, I mean, we all know what assuming means, but I assume Gomez only works on games if it needs to be, because he's just over everything, you know?
Future Game Speculations
00:57:52
Speaker
So we're going to slide in Brian Eddie as the next title that is released.
00:57:59
Speaker
And it's supposed to be before the end of the year, which would make sense because we're at that 13 to 14 month ratio from when Brian Eddie was announced last.
00:58:07
Speaker
Wait, was it 2017 TPF?
00:58:11
Speaker
He pulled like a Steve jobs, like right before the end of it.
00:58:13
Speaker
He's like, Oh, by the way, we hired Brian Eddie.
00:58:16
Speaker
And then Mike dropped and walked off.
00:58:18
Speaker
And so we're, we're right at that timeframe.
00:58:20
Speaker
We should be seeing Brian Eddie's game.
00:58:23
Speaker
And what are the rumor titles we've heard?
00:58:27
Speaker
Stranger Things is the one that's gaining traction right now.
00:58:29
Speaker
What do you guys think of Stranger Things?
00:58:32
Speaker
Yeah, so I've seen all three seasons.
00:58:35
Speaker
I love Stranger Things.
00:58:36
Speaker
I also ask, when in a season or a series do you launch a game versus when have you waited too long to capture the hype of a game?
00:58:47
Speaker
Or is there a window?
00:58:50
Speaker
Well, and you would know.
00:58:51
Speaker
You're the marketing man.
00:58:52
Speaker
What would you suggest?
00:58:54
Speaker
Especially with Stranger Things.
00:58:55
Speaker
I probably would have done it after season two.
00:58:58
Speaker
So you've had at least a second season that's confirmed demand, but still enough hype and energy around season three.
00:59:04
Speaker
So I would have launched it this summer when season three dropped.
00:59:09
Speaker
Right, with season three.
00:59:10
Speaker
Well, and they've confirmed season four, but that's still –
00:59:15
Speaker
They're not on a typical like every year kind of thing.
00:59:17
Speaker
It seems like they're about a 18 months apart kind of thing, or maybe, maybe not that long.
00:59:23
Speaker
But still, I mean... I think the challenge is finding that sweet spot in that they... If you have not heard the Johnny Mnemonic story, then go and listen to the Special One Lit podcast or watch the Flippin' Out stream when Special One Lit... When Ken and Bill were talking to George Gomez because it's hilarious.
00:59:45
Speaker
Because, you know, I'll just quickly rehash the story, but go listen to George tell it.
00:59:53
Speaker
developing the game for Williams.
00:59:55
Speaker
They were developing Johnny Mnemonic and they didn't really see the, the game, the movie.
01:00:00
Speaker
And they were like, Hey, we want to see it.
01:00:02
Speaker
And so finally the, the Hollywood said, okay, come out and see.
01:00:05
Speaker
So George flies out and sees and immediately runs to the phone and says, Hey, we got to get out of this, this game, this, this movie sucks.
01:00:13
Speaker
And, and so that's the challenge that you run into the,
01:00:18
Speaker
into going all in on an unproven title.
01:00:22
Speaker
Now that's the reason why you're seeing a lot of things like Iron Man.
01:00:26
Speaker
Iron Man came out with Iron Man 2.
01:00:30
Speaker
Because Iron Man was a big hit.
01:00:32
Speaker
And so they came out and did that.
01:00:34
Speaker
Now, the question is, when do you do it?
01:00:38
Speaker
Do you have to wait until the nostalgic window comes around?
01:00:41
Speaker
Which is basically what happened with Jurassic Park.
01:00:43
Speaker
What happened with Ghostbusters.
01:00:45
Speaker
Where it's old but cool, right?
01:00:48
Speaker
And that's the Wreck-It Ralph line.
01:00:50
Speaker
The nostalgic area.
01:00:52
Speaker
But at the same time, you run into the problem as if you are releasing something early in February.
01:00:59
Speaker
If it's a serialized story, then you have such limited things to go on.
01:01:04
Speaker
If you're taking themes of the story to incorporate into modes, then it's hard unless you're doing like a Jurassic Park where you're doing more of a parallel story and you're using the theme, but not necessarily the storyline.
01:01:22
Speaker
Are you buying the theme?
01:01:23
Speaker
Are you buying the story?
01:01:24
Speaker
Do you want to incorporate it all in?
01:01:26
Speaker
Because you can also find out when it's like, okay, so how about we release an NSYNC pin right now?
01:01:32
Speaker
Yeah, it's only 20 years too late, but maybe JT up there singing bye, bye, bye, multi-ball.
01:01:39
Speaker
That'd be awesome, right?
01:01:40
Speaker
So here's the other thought.
01:01:42
Speaker
Do manufacturers, should they be thinking about code?
01:01:46
Speaker
So say they did Stranger Things right after season two.
01:01:50
Speaker
But they built the code in a way, and the game in a way, that allowed it to evolve as the seasons evolved.
01:01:57
Speaker
So when you updated your code, it would now reflect season three, season four, season five.
01:02:05
Speaker
It depends though, because you look at season one and it's so much different than season two.
01:02:09
Speaker
And you look at season three and it's so much different than season, the other seasons.
01:02:20
Speaker
I don't know if you guys have played the Stranger-themed video games.
01:02:23
Speaker
There's mobile games and stuff like that.
01:02:25
Speaker
A lot of those are just exploring the town of Hawkins.
01:02:30
Speaker
You kind of make your own story from it.
01:02:34
Speaker
I like this idea of Jurassic Park.
01:02:37
Speaker
You're part of the experience.
01:02:39
Speaker
It's not like you're following the movies.
01:02:41
Speaker
There's references to the movies, obviously, because it is a movie, but you're working your way through your own story.
01:02:48
Speaker
And so I would appreciate – I would like a Stranger Things theme where I'm exploring Stranger Things instead of like, oh, I'm –
01:02:58
Speaker
I don't know, reliving maybe some of the moments because in my opinion, Stranger Things isn't necessarily about moments that come to the top of my head that I can think of besides certain characters dying in the TV series.
01:03:17
Speaker
I just don't know.
01:03:18
Speaker
They released Game of Thrones halfway through all their seasons.
01:03:21
Speaker
And it turned out fine.
01:03:24
Speaker
I just... I don't know.
01:03:27
Speaker
It's hard because there are... If you go with a linear story mode, which is what Ghostbusters was locked into, then...
01:03:38
Speaker
You are following the same.
01:03:40
Speaker
It's not to choose your own adventure, which is what people want in a pinball machine or a video game.
01:03:46
Speaker
They don't want it.
01:03:47
Speaker
That's pretty old school.
01:03:49
Speaker
That's Mario going from level one to level eight to rescue the princess.
01:03:54
Speaker
And people want to mix it up.
01:03:56
Speaker
They want to have more control over the code.
01:03:58
Speaker
With Ghostbusters, it's always, hey, who brought the dog?
01:04:01
Speaker
And it's the same.
01:04:03
Speaker
It was the same progression that people got tired of.
01:04:08
Speaker
a similar paint by numbers where you're going through and saying, well, if you're progressing through the story, people are going to get really tired of it.
01:04:16
Speaker
What made Iron Man different is that you have the different options where it takes the theme.
01:04:23
Speaker
So you can beat the Iron Monger, but you could also do the whiplash or you could play War Machine or you could play drones.
01:04:31
Speaker
And you don't have to do them in a linear fashion, which is what people like in games.
01:04:39
Speaker
I guess Lyman's found a way of doing it in Batman 66, where he's been able to incorporate all the different episodes without it feeling too linear.
01:04:51
Speaker
This is what's challenging about marketing, right?
01:04:54
Speaker
It's finding that lightning in a bottle.
01:04:58
Speaker
Well, and I don't know.
01:05:00
Speaker
So some of the other rumor tiles, James Bond, I know we talked about that a couple months ago, but from my understanding, that's dead in the water.
01:05:08
Speaker
I don't know if it was a title just thrown out there to see if it would get enough response to warrant it being made.
01:05:15
Speaker
Or I personally think some titles get thrown out there just to throw people off the scent.
01:05:21
Speaker
I don't know if this is one of that one.
01:05:23
Speaker
I also think that they actually put them out there to see if there's an interest.
01:05:27
Speaker
I, I, I, how long was iron maiden rumored?
01:05:32
Speaker
And legitimately it was rumored for years until finally it was like, Oh, I guess we're really doing this.
01:05:39
Speaker
The only other one that I know of, uh, it's teenage mutant Ninja turtles.
01:05:43
Speaker
And if Brian Eddie's making Ninja turtles, I'm sell it to me right now.
Dream Pinball Themes
01:05:49
Speaker
I don't even have to look at it.
01:05:53
Speaker
We've talked about this before.
01:05:54
Speaker
I know you're not a huge Ninja Turtles fan, Scott.
01:05:57
Speaker
Brad, what about you?
01:05:58
Speaker
Are you a Ninja Turtles fan?
01:06:01
Speaker
Not enough to buy the pinball machine.
01:06:07
Speaker
It's obviously still a relevant title.
01:06:09
Speaker
I mean, you, Josh, you just barely bought the arcade one-up thing.
01:06:15
Speaker
And so you've been playing that.
01:06:16
Speaker
And so, hey, it's nostalgic.
01:06:19
Speaker
In many ways, it takes me back to when I'm 15 and...
01:06:23
Speaker
We don't have to deal with adult issues.
01:06:26
Speaker
And it's an escape, right?
01:06:30
Speaker
My challenge with Brian Eddy is, yes, he did Medieval Madness, he did Attack from Mars, and he did The Shadow.
01:06:38
Speaker
And has it been too long?
01:06:42
Speaker
Because that's the question.
01:06:45
Speaker
It's the whole... Yes, Paul McCartney was in the Beatles and they released the White Album.
01:06:50
Speaker
They released Abbey Road.
01:06:52
Speaker
They released all these epic albums.
01:06:58
Speaker
he really didn't release anything good after that or anything that you would want the entire album.
01:07:02
Speaker
And so has it been too long?
01:07:05
Speaker
Can he get back in the game?
01:07:07
Speaker
I hope so, but I'm not going to do a, I'm not going to buy it based on Brian Eddie.
01:07:12
Speaker
I'm hopeful, but really his two Epic games are excellent fan layouts.
01:07:20
Speaker
And I don't think I need another, like,
01:07:24
Speaker
If it's going to be exactly the same, then I don't need to buy another one.
01:07:28
Speaker
I have Medieval Madness.
01:07:29
Speaker
I have Attack from Mars.
01:07:32
Speaker
I agree, but I think the problem with Medieval Madness and Attack for Mars is Williams and Data East could already see the writing on the wall at that time.
01:07:43
Speaker
Yeah, they were pulling it out.
01:07:44
Speaker
Yeah, I could see that.
01:07:45
Speaker
So I'm interested to see what he's going to do in the next 20 years later.
01:07:51
Speaker
And he's certainly been in the industry.
01:07:56
Speaker
What theme do you... Now, I'm not talking about rumored themes.
01:08:00
Speaker
What theme do you want Brian Eddy to do?
01:08:11
Speaker
The royal we, yes.
01:08:17
Speaker
I want to do new turtles.
01:08:19
Speaker
And I feel warranted in it.
01:08:21
Speaker
Wait, do you want the Aquabats again?
01:08:22
Speaker
Is that what you're going to do?
01:08:23
Speaker
Let's do Aquabats.
01:08:25
Speaker
No, the reason... It sounds like a band.
01:08:28
Speaker
Okay, see, he doesn't even know who they are.
01:08:32
Speaker
I know who they are.
01:08:34
Speaker
They're coming to Utah if you want to see them.
01:08:40
Speaker
That arcade machine that's sitting at that one, the arcade one up that I bought for the Ninja Turtles from the 90, the 89 and the Turtles in Time, the pre-orders sold out in less than 30 minutes.
01:08:52
Speaker
The two times that they put it up there.
01:08:54
Speaker
And I had to fight to buy this arcade cabinet because it was selling out so quickly.
01:09:00
Speaker
And granted, it could be that's less supply, which means there's higher demand, blah, blah, blah, blah.
01:09:05
Speaker
But the point being is there is obviously a high enough demand for these machines that they mass produce and put in Walmarts to the point that they have been selling out of them when they announced it seven months ago.
01:09:17
Speaker
So I still think it is very warranted to have a Ninja Turtles pinball machine because I think the iron's hot there.
01:09:28
Speaker
Lego would be high on my list.
01:09:30
Speaker
Toy Story would be high.
01:09:32
Speaker
Some of the Pixar.
01:09:34
Speaker
Lego, just like the Lego movie, or would you just do original Lego theme?
01:09:40
Speaker
I think you'd have to do the Lego movie.
01:09:43
Speaker
I don't know if it's Lego movie, but I feel like I would want to pick.
01:09:47
Speaker
You do Space Lego, Pirate Lego.
01:09:50
Speaker
Can you pick which Lego at the beginning of the game?
01:09:53
Speaker
Oh, that'd be legit.
01:09:55
Speaker
I didn't even think of that.
01:09:58
Speaker
It's kind of like the movie where they had the different worlds.
01:10:00
Speaker
There was medieval world and western world and
01:10:03
Speaker
Yeah, or how your play sets are different, right?
01:10:05
Speaker
So you could choose which adventure and then the modes would correlate to the adventure you play.
01:10:10
Speaker
That would be cool.
01:10:11
Speaker
Almost like choosing a character, right?
01:10:14
Speaker
I think that would work.
01:10:16
Speaker
I never really thought of a Lego movie as an option, but I think it could.
01:10:21
Speaker
So, sorry, we cut you off.
01:10:23
Speaker
And then Toy Story.
01:10:26
Speaker
Some of the Pixar stuff, some of the animation, I think lends itself well.
01:10:31
Speaker
I know they've been rumored a long time with Toy Story.
01:10:39
Speaker
I feel like we need a MacGyver pin.
01:10:44
Speaker
I would do it just for the mullet.
01:10:45
Speaker
Just for the mullet.
01:10:47
Speaker
You have to problem solve your way through the game with a Swiss Army knife and bubble gum.
01:10:53
Speaker
And a roll of duct tape.
01:10:54
Speaker
Gunpowder that he made off shaving something off the wall.
01:11:03
Speaker
I don't know if there's others.
01:11:06
Speaker
Those are probably my top ones.
01:11:10
Speaker
I honestly, you know, I would just love a Legend of Zelda from Brian Eddy.
01:11:16
Speaker
I think they would, I think he would take that and just, it would be perfect.
01:11:22
Speaker
You know, I'd be okay with the Super Mario Brothers.
01:11:24
Speaker
Just straight up Mario Brothers.
01:11:29
Speaker
I think Zelda would be epic.
01:11:30
Speaker
But I think Mario... I just want a Nintendo mashup in there.
01:11:39
Speaker
Super Smash Brothers maybe.
01:11:43
Speaker
I think that pretty much covers it for the rumors and stuff.
01:11:45
Speaker
I think one more thing we wanted to bring up.
01:11:47
Speaker
One of the gentlemen you've been talking about, Brad, is Christopher Franchi.
01:11:52
Speaker
And this last week, he pretty much bid adieu that him and Stern are parting ways.
01:11:57
Speaker
We want to wish him the best.
01:11:58
Speaker
I can't wait to see what else he comes up with.
01:12:01
Speaker
Because, I mean, Beetlejuice is – I mean, like the Beetlejuice you've been talking about and the Superman, those are all fantastic.
01:12:07
Speaker
He's an amazing artist.
01:12:08
Speaker
So wherever he goes, I just want more.
01:12:13
Speaker
I don't feel like we got enough for Anchi yet.
01:12:14
Speaker
I mean, he's just, his artwork's amazing.
01:12:17
Speaker
So yeah, a hundred percent Batman 66.
01:12:20
Speaker
That was another game he did that would be on a, on my list for my game.
01:12:23
Speaker
That'd be a great one.
01:12:25
Speaker
The nice thing about what, what Chris is doing is that he's putting out those dream themes that you can say, Hey, this game is, is probably not going to, not going to be made, but he can do it under the,
01:12:39
Speaker
the, um, the fan, uh, the fan art banner.
01:12:43
Speaker
And so he can actually do something like that.
01:12:45
Speaker
So, Hey, that would be awesome.
01:12:46
Speaker
Uh, Chris should make a, uh, you know, he would, he, he could make a legend of Zelda back glass, which would be awesome.
01:12:53
Speaker
And I would buy that.
01:12:55
Speaker
So there's a lot of the matches, the universe, right?
01:12:58
Speaker
Add it to the list.
01:12:59
Speaker
That would be great.
01:13:01
Speaker
He, he, only if it's Dolph Lundgren though.
01:13:07
Speaker
Never quite figured out what Skeletor really wanted that whole time.
01:13:12
Speaker
And he's a skeleton.
01:13:12
Speaker
What does he care about?
01:13:15
Speaker
We've been running for over an hour now.
01:13:19
Speaker
We've been almost an hour and 20 minutes.
01:13:22
Speaker
Is there any other – there's nothing else I can think of.
01:13:25
Speaker
I'm excited for Expo this week.
01:13:27
Speaker
What about you guys?
01:13:31
Speaker
Josh coming out for it.
01:13:34
Speaker
I wish I just won't be able to be out there this week.
01:13:37
Speaker
Yeah, I can't do it.
01:13:38
Speaker
It's it's there's already two big things at work that take people away and I can't sneak away for doing something hobby related.
01:13:48
Speaker
But I am planning on coming to Texas Pinball Festival.
01:13:50
Speaker
So that will be that will be on my horizon.
01:13:54
Speaker
So you should come down.
01:13:55
Speaker
You should come down and break bread with us there.
01:13:59
Speaker
Hey, tell them again.
01:14:01
Speaker
Tell them again where they can get your stuff.
01:14:03
Speaker
Yeah, litframes.com.
01:14:05
Speaker
You can email me at litframeshop at gmail.com or come check out my booth at Expo Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this coming week.
01:14:16
Speaker
So 17th, 18th, and 19th of October.
01:14:21
Speaker
You guys better be there.
01:14:24
Speaker
I don't care who you are.
01:14:25
Speaker
You better start posting pictures to our Facebook.
01:14:34
Speaker
We want to keep it safe for work.
01:14:38
Speaker
Keep it safe for work on our page, but show us what's going on at Expo because all of us are going to be working except for Brad.
01:14:44
Speaker
I'll still be working.
01:14:46
Speaker
Yeah, you'll be working the booth instead of working.
01:14:51
Speaker
I'm going to insert our new outro music right now.
01:14:57
Speaker
So thanks again for joining us, guys.
01:14:58

01:15:14
Speaker
Tell them something.
