Speaker: We love to talk with kids about their life and their experiences. So this is kids. That's why today we're doing an interview with each other and ourselves. It'll be fun. Very. And silly.
Speaker: I think we would be pretty silly with each other. Yeah. Yeah. Well, is anything hard for you at school Naomi? Isn't there something we should go over first? Wow. We will throw some jokes in in our episodes and after the jokes you'll hear this. It's fun. Anyway, let's get right into it.
Speaker: we can get right right in so um let's just jump right in Naomi is there anything hard at school well yes actually um i've been having some trouble with like bullying and fighting i have a little note to myself that i would like to tell you guys if you are having trouble with
Speaker: bullying too. So I have actually two tips. You can stand up for yourself and say, hey, that's not cool. I don't want to be in this mess. You can also go tell a teacher, this is not paddling. No, it's totally safe. You're trying to keep yourself safe or someone else safe if you're standing up for someone else.
Speaker: And the other one is, if you can't stand up, if you've trapped, or if you've tried that, and it's not working, you can just ignore them. And just say, I'm not in the mood for this today, but, and I will never be in the mood to get hurt by you. Please leave me alone.
Speaker: If they don't leave you alone, you can go ask a teacher. I asked all of the teachers and it has gotten much better.
Speaker: I mean, it gets so much better after you ask teachers because they can help you. They can help you very much. An adult can help you. If you don't tell someone soon enough, eventually the bullying will get worse and worse. And somehow it might just spread to your friends, your family,
Speaker: And they might get bullied by the same person. Yeah. So it's ACU hanging out with someone? They're going to want to say hi and check the person out. But just don't get involved with the situation if you know it's not a good one. Stay away from the people you're not friends with or that you just don't really want to hang out with.
Speaker: There is one thing that you should get involved with. If you see your friend or someone else being bullied, please, please, please stand up for them. It's very helpful to them, to you, and probably to your whole school. And it really, really, really
Speaker: It's an amazing thing to do at times. And we can tell you some ways to do it if you're confused. One, you can distract. Yeah. By asking them, hey, do you want to play with me? And then, and the bull goes to their victim having a friend or a buddy.
Speaker: or buddy, so they're probably gonna get pretty confused when you go over and play with them. Next, tell a teacher. This is not at all titling. Again, you're trying to keep someone safe, or if it's right, yourself safe. And
Speaker: One, another thing is you stand up. Like this, this takes tons of courage. It means you're standing up to the bully saying, hey, it's mean. And bystanders, people who just stand around and don't even know what to do,
Speaker: They might even look after, they might look on after your legacy and be upstanders with you. Upstanders who stand up to bullying, they speak out and then there will be more people on your side and less bullies. Yes. Well, Nora, is there anything you have trouble with in school?
Speaker: Well, math is pretty easy. But I guess I could ask. I need to ask if I could have harder work. Too hard. You can say, hey, this is really hard. I would like some help after class or when you're free. Yeah.
Speaker: Or you, and this isn't just, this doesn't just apply for math. It applies for basically every subject. Like science or ELA English language arts. And it works too, because you get your words when you need it. And you
Speaker: And you get smarter for telling someone that you don't get it. Because if you don't say anything about what you need, you will not get smarter. You really won't because then you just don't understand it and you're just putting random numbers on the page. That's not learning anything. Yeah.
Speaker: It's just not a good thing to do. Like if you just sit there, just like stressing, stressing yourself, like that is not show craftsmanship. That's all I want you to do really, show craftsmanship. Build on your skills. Like if you've learned something and you get that,
Speaker: See if that works for your problem. Yes, that is such a good quote. Hey Naomi though, what was the math book so sad? Why? Because it was full of problems. I get that. Whoops. Whoa.
Speaker: Yeah. I hope you learned some good advice from this episode. And I hope you apply it to your life as well. Welcome, or sorry, not welcome. Thank you from Kids Life. Thank you from Kids Life.
