Zack: What is up? Welcome back to the Next Guy O podcast. We have a big week this week. This is our first ah kind of weekend preview type episode.
Zack: NFL is back starting, if you're listening to this on Thursday morning, starting tonight. ah College football week two is happening and there are some fun games we're going to talk about and break down.
Zack: ah Mason and Tins are going to give us their NFL preview. They're going to make some predictions. I've heard there's some bold takes from Mason coming as far as MVP outlooks. I'm pretty excited about that conversation.
Zack: We have a brand new segment we're debuting today. We will explain a little bit later. It is called Best of the Rest. I'm i'm pretty excited about that one. It's one we've been cooking up for a little bit. I think it's going of fun.
Zack: and We're going to end up with our weekend preview segment where we talk about our our most anticipated matchups, our most anticipated players to watch. ah We are going to debut another new segment today. We got a lot of new stuff going on.
Zack: ah Season's in full swing now, and so we're pretty excited. We are going head-to-head against AI to see test our betting skills. So that's going to be a fun segment as well a track.
Zack: Boys, how are you feeling we feeling? Feel good?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: it's It's truly Christmas. It's Christmas Eve. We've got football tomorrow.
Zack: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: NFL kicking off. As much as I love college football, NFL is always ah near and dear to my heart.
Zack: First love.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And yeah, first love. Exciting first game too. Eagles-Cowboys. We've got a Friday night game free on YouTube with the Chiefs and Chargers. That'll be a good one.
Zack: Really?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: kick Kicking the season off with some division rivals. That's that's fun.
Mason: How many people just learned that it's free on YouTube tonight?
Zack: At least one.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, no, it's, there's a big, uh, Mr.
Mason: I also didn't know that.
Zack: See you then.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Beast, Mr. Beast did a whole ad for it and it dropped on Twitter. He actually got like a Roger Goodell to do it with him. was actually pretty funny, but yeah, it's going to free on YouTube.
Zack: Wow.
Mason: I am excited about football. However, today is a tough day.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Oh boy.
Mason: ah Red Zone announced that they are now doing commercials, so you can say goodbye to commercial-free Red Zone. i was actually going to purchase it. I think you get a seven-day free trial if you've never had it before.
Mason: plan on getting it and now I'm kind of second guessing I might I'll do the free trial for sure but and then the second thing that is no longer existing is the uh double stuffed uh Tinsley sent this to us pretty pretty uh just disappointing overall the snack game it's just disappointing
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, we've talked about it before, about how the double stuff is definitely not the same as when we were kids. But don't know. I was eating some today, and I was just like, there's this is just egregiously not a double stuffed Oreo.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: like This is this is should be illegal.
Mason: like to see what the normal looks like because it's been a hot minute since I've had just I normally just grab the double stuff and you're right it's just a normal Oreo these days so what's the normal one look like?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah.
Zack: Inflation. Cream inflation.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Cream inflation. We actually got a box at Sam's Club. They had like the variety box. So you can get like, it had the two packs of Chips Ahoy and single stuffed Oreos and the golden Oreos. And then like a foot the flavored one. And they had the had the ah blueberry.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So that's why we bought it. There's only 10 of them in there, but has a single stuffed Oreos in it. And I was like, open I opened was like, this is, there's nothing. This is just a cookie.
Zack: Yeah, it's tough.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's tough stuff.
Zack: Okay. Well, are we ready for some NFL talk?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, I believe so.
Mason: Let's kick it off.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: A little preview.
Zack: Okay, so yeah, this is a big time.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Predictions for the season.
Zack: um We did a lot of college preview, so I think it's time for you a little bit of NFL preview here. We've done we've given out some futures. we've We've talked a little bit about our favorite bets. We haven't done some actual football preview, though.
Zack: This is we're doing now. We're going to go division by division.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ready.
Zack: We're going to pick our winners. And then i think we'll just we' we'll move to AFC champion, NFC champion, Super Bowl prediction, and then MVP. but Do we feel good?
Zack: We ready?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um ready
Zack: Okay, first on the list. um Let's start off with probably an easy one. The AFC East.
Zack: The AFC East tens. Who do you got with this one?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, so this division has actually the um the favorite has the highest odds at minus 330 with the Buffalo Bills.
Zack: Definitely.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That is who I'm rolling with. um I do see the Patriots putting up a good fight and giving them a little bit of run for their money here. I do like what the Patriots have done this offseason with the new coaching staff.
Zack: hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm on record that I think Drake May is the best quarterback from that rookie class. Yes, that includes Jay Daniels, Caleb Williams, Bo Nix. Michael Penix, all those guys.
Zack: wow
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Drake May, I think, is going to be the best of that group. um I love Travion Henderson. I gave him out on the pod as rookie offensive rookie of the year. um So I think the Patriots could give him a little bit of a push, but I just think with the I've looked at the Bills' schedule, and it's all their hard games are at home.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They get to play the NFC South this year. which is bad.
Mason: me
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So I'm on the bills. Minus three 30 is, is a lot of juice, but I just, I don't see how they don't run the, that division again this year.
Mason: Yeah, I agree with you. I hope we don't go too chalk here, but this is one where the division is just too, in my opinion, the Bills are so further than anybody else. Tinsley's down on the Dolphins.
Mason: I'm always going to be optimistic about Justin Fields, but Tinsley's also down on the Jets. And then, um you know, do what?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Super down. I said super down. They just lost their left guard for the year. um Elijah Veritucker just tore his triceps for a second time in his career at practice today.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He's going be out for the season. He's a big part of their offensive line. i just, yeah, the Jets are ah disaster. Always have been, always will be.
Mason: All right.
Zack: Okay, next up, i hope we'll start with Mason here. We'll go back and forth. AFC West, Mason. Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers.
Mason: I really want to go with a shocker here. I just I don't don't do it.
Zack: Don't do it.
Mason: I'm going
Zack: Mason.
Mason: i'm going with the I'm going with the Chiefs. I can't until they show me something different. ah The Chiefs last season was fourteen and three The season before was the down 11-6. And then back to fourteen and three in 2022.
Mason: I just and don't know how to not go with them for this division. So so far, nothing too exciting. But there we are. tense
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: yeah Yeah, I'm with Mason here. um
Mason: Broncos? Oh.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: the The Chiefs shes ah have improved their offensive line. um They got probably the best left tackle in the whole draft, um Simmons from Ohio State. He had a little bit of off-the-field stuff, a little bit of injury, worry, but he's going to come in and be a solid left tackle for them.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They get to move last year's first-round pick to left guard and really kind of strengthen that offensive line. I think you're going to see more of what the – like old chiefs, Patrick Holmes, chucking the ball down the field with Xavier worthy Royals, who we talked about a little bit, um, after the draft that rookie and don't know little bit more firepower this year from the chiefs. So, um, and I, I think I'm a little bit down on the Broncos.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, I heard a stat today. They only beat one playoff team last year, like in the regular season. If you take out the chiefs win at the end of the year and the chiefs sat everyone.
Mason: yeah
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, if the chiefs were to have played everyone and probably won that game, the Broncos would have been nine and eight and missed the playoffs, but the chiefs had already blocked up, um, playoff seating. So they didn't have anything to play for. And it kind of let the Broncos get in.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think the Broncos are fine. I just think they're going to have a step up in competition as far as their, who they're playing this year. They get to play the second place teams in all the divisions. Um, So I'm not as like the Broncos have become like the trendy dark horse Superbowl pick. And i think their defense is great, but I just don't see them pushing for the division quite yet. I think this, I think we've got one more really dominant chiefs year right here.
Zack: a Okay. Okay. Interesting. No Raiders picks, Mason.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Hmm.
Mason: I did not pick that.
Zack: That's coming. We'll get there. Okay. Next, AFC North. We've got the Ravens, Bengals, Browns, and Steelers.
Zack: Interesting division here.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, very very loaded division. Probably the the strongest one through four the AFC.
Zack: Well, second strongest. the South.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, don't forget about the South. or Yeah. All right. So anyway, is it me? Did I go first?
Zack: yeah, yeah.
Mason: yeah for it.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay. I went with the Ravens. I am a known kind of doubter of the Ravens. um But here's the thing. The Bengals, I just can't do it anymore. i can't trust in the Bengals anymore.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um they've Yeah, they got Hendrickson under contract. He also missed all of training camp. They got the first-round draft pick, Stewart, under a contract. He missed half of training camp.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I just think they're going to still be pretty bad defensively, and you're just asking Joe Burrow to play hero ball. And he can do it. Joe Burrow amazing. He can put up all the stats. He almost single-handedly took them the playoffs last year.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Had they not lost their first game of the year against the Patriots, they were a playoff team. That was the difference. It one game. I just don't see it. I think they're a wild card team probably. there they're ah Definitely they're in the mix for that. But I think the Ravens are just too dominant in the regular season to give up the division title.
Mason: So Zach and Tens did this similar to with college football last year, and they would pick the same games on accident just because, you know, similar football minds. So not doing those this on purpose, but I'm also going with the Ravens. I think their defense sets them apart.
Mason: um They are second scoring defense in 2024, and they were number one in tech takeaways with 33 takeaways. The only thing ah that I wish that they would have done more was their offseason additions.
Mason: ah The Ravens only really acquired DeAndre Hopkins, which some people may think, you know, that wasn't really an addition. and we'll We'll see. But I wish that they would have done more in the offseason. Maybe they felt like they didn't have to.
Mason: ah But that was like the only big I was kind of looking at their additions this today. And that was like the only one that stood apart.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Mason: ah And ah to be honest, it didn't really do much in my opinion. so I wish that they would have done more, but I can't go against what the Ravens did, not just offensively, which we've talked about, but also on the defensive side.
Zack: Why would Joe Burrow hate? um I kind of like the Bengals, I'll be honest with you. I'm buying stock in the Bengals. Okay, next up, AFC South, the big one. Mason.
Zack: Mason.
Mason: I'm going to go with... What should I do, it Zach?
Mason: i I'm going to go with... Oh, man.
Zack: Who are the favorites? so Can i start there? Who's the favorite?
Mason: It's got to be... I think it's the Texans, right?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, like plus 175 fish.
Zack: Wow. Okay.
Mason: Okay, I do want to say something here. me and Tinsley, well all of us in this on the podcast have been at each other like with the Jaguars and Titans and all of that. I will say that part of me wants to...
Mason: go with the Jaguars, but Tinsley will never let me hint hear the end of it. He is so down on the Texans, but I will say, I don't think the Colts are, I feel like everybody thinks that Daniel Jones is going to suck, and I, for some reason, um they still have Jonathan Taylor.
Zack: He is, yeah, he is.
Mason: I feel like their wide receivers will be on the up and up. Part of me wants to take the Colts as well, so I'm going to stick with the, if we had to like bet it, I'm going to go with the Texans right now.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Texans plus one Oh five, actually.
Mason: So barely.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: can
Mason: I mean, this is a tight.
Zack: oh
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Really?
Mason: Yeah.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's one of the closer, um, Jags plus two 70 Colts for 25 and Titans plus six 50.
Mason: What's the rest of them? Go ahead and tell me. Tell us. Oh.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So, I mean, it's,
Mason: Great value there.
Zack: That is awesome. That was as good as my eight Super Bowl bet. Can't wait to cash that out.
Zack: Okay, Tins, you think?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I, uh, Okay, yeah, I mean, I have a lot of thoughts of the AFC South here.
Mason: He's going to shock the world.
Zack: I bet you do.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. Texans offensive line got egregiously worse this off season, which was bad because it was already bad. I'm, I'm with Mason. I don't hate the Colts, but at the same time they fired Gus Bradley's defensive coordinator and they replaced him with the Colt, with the Bengals defensive coordinator.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And he's like, he runs the same system and he's very predictable. So like how much of an upgrade was that? um They also got hit with the injury bug all training camp long. So, um, Because I'm not, like the Colts are a team that should be good, but I think they're just going to kind of fall apart.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Titans, I think, finished third in the division. I've said that. I've put it on record. I've bet it. Titans to finish third.
Zack: you could bet that okay
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I did exact i did an exact order. I did the Titans third. um And then, yeah, I mean, I'm going with the Jags to win the division. I see that Liam Cohen's going to come in, make an impact like he did for the Bucs.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Our offense, that when he took over as the Bucs OC, they on average scored 10 more points a game than they did the year before. If you take that with what the Jags did last year, losing so many one-possession games – With a third-place schedule against – our schedule is pretty soft. Like, we have a pretty tough start the schedule, but we get the NFC South and the West, and I'm kind of down on the West far as the Cardinals.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: 49ers will be tough. um But, yeah, so i'm to I'm taking the Jags, I think, in a division as close as it is with the Texans, who I see coming down a little bit, plus 270.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: plus all my fandom, I had no choice.
Zack: That's true. You do have no choice. You are a ride or die there. um Okay, let's let's do let's just stay with AFC South, or AFC, sorry. Let's go ahead just do AFC champion predictions, and then we'll move to the NFC.
Zack: Tins, who do you think comes out of the AFC, plays in the Super Bowl?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i think it's the Chiefs.
Zack: Hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i think I think I predicted it. I gave out a future probably about a month ago now. And as much as I don't want it to be true, I just I think this is their last hurrah.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: The offensive line is better.
Zack: Yeah.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i think du they're going to get back to throwing the ball deep, um making plays that way. Their defense is still solid. So, yeah, I think the Chiefs get it one more year, which is crazy for them to go to, what, four straight Super Bowls?
Mason: Mm-hmm.
Zack: Okay. Mason, you agree?
Mason: I'm going to go with the Ravens here just because of what I talked about with the defensive ranked ah second. And ah let's see, it was first and takeaways and seconds and most points scored.
Mason: Derek Henry also looked just great with on the offense last year. As long as they stay away from like the injury bug, I think that they're clicking offense and defense side.
Zack: Okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: that That's who I have the Chiefs playing is the Ravens. um Yeah, I agree. I think the Ravens will be right there. and just Lamar in the playoffs has just not done it yet, but hopefully this could be his year. I would love to see the Ravens.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'd love to see someone else other than the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl.
Mason: Derek Henry ranked number one touchdowns in second behind Saquon Barkley in rushing yards. If you could do that again with Lamar, it's pretty good.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Derek Henry is still good.
Zack: Still good. No one asked me, but ah i want to get my prediction here just in case it happens so I can brag about it.
Mason: Titans. and
Zack: ah Bengals from a wild card spot sneaking Super prediction.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: well
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I mean, that's the thing about the Bengals, though. If they get in, they're as dangerous as anybody with Joe Burrow. But that's the that's the thing. is Do they get in?
Zack: ah Yes, they do.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I like it.
Zack: Okay, ah to the NFC. To the NFC. um We have the NFC East, Tens, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Commanders.
Zack: What a division we have here.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So a division winner has not repeated in this conference, in this division since 2004. Um,
Mason: try to find Try to find stats like that on another podcast.
Zack: my. Wow.
Zack: Who's the next team up Giants?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um
Zack: Giants?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm actually – like the Giants. I think that what the Giants have done defensively this year, um they're going to be elite.
Mason: Do it.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um
Mason: Say it.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But they're not going win the division. They're not even going to compete for a wild card.
Zack: Mm-mm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But they are going to be frisky team. And once Jackson Dart gets – now, if they were to start Jackson Dart from the start, I might be saying something else. But – I think they don't put him in until the end of the year, but I like Jackson Dart a lot.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um I'm not going to go with the commanders either. i just think this team had a lot of lot of things break their way last year. i think they come down the earth a little bit for Jaden Daniels is coming.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's a very old roster. Terry McLaurin missed all of training camp, and they're missing ah their best offensive lineman from last year. And so um I'm going to go with the Eagles. i think we're going to get our first repeat because I'm definitely not picking the Cowboys.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think the Eagles are just too dominant. think the Eagles just, they'll win this division.
Zack: Okay. Mason, you agree? Oh.
Mason: i do not agree. I'm going to go.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Oh, finally.
Mason: I'm the streak ends back to back division winners. I'm going to Washington commanders. They added Debo Samuel. We'll see how he looks in that offense. Laramie Tunsil as well. Give it. ah We don't know.
Mason: Is he still, is he going to get to the point where he's, know, not a starter anymore? Who knows? But I think he is.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: If you ask te if you asked the Texans fans, they say he's garbage, even though he was graded out as one of the best pass blockers in the league last year.
Mason: So that should help Jaden Daniels. So I was high on Jaden Daniels. don't know if you all remember before the you season you started. He was my rookie of the year.
Mason: So I'm going to continue that trend.
Zack: Okay. Love it. All right. Next NFC West. um We have the Cardinals Rams 49ers Seahawks Mason.
Mason: Part of me wants to go. i I was excited about the Rams, but just to hear about everything with Matthew matthew Stafford this seat offseason, I ah just don't want to go there. So I am going to go with the Cardinals.
Mason: think ah yeah I think Kyler Murray is going to take a big step this year. um Benson may end up ah breaking out this season. I hope so. If not, they still got Connor there as a red zone threat. So I'm going to go with the Cardinals.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I did not see that one coming. Um, and i was big Cardinals guy last year. I like the Cardinals. I think they're, they're a fine team. Um, but the San Francisco 49ers had every bad injury break. You could think of happened to them last year.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They have a third place schedule.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: With elite talent. I think, I think CMC is back. He's been full go all training camp. Um, I looked at their schedule, their schedule.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's, I think, i mean, I'll go ahead and tell you, cause this is the team when we pick Superbowl from a side, I have the 49ers the one seed in the, in the NFC.
Mason: Is it pretty soft?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think they're going be absolutely dominant over a week, a pretty soft schedule. So yeah, I love the 49ers and I was big on the Rams until everything started happen with Stafford and he's off the injury report, whatever.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: a back injury pops back up when you start getting hit. And so I'm, ah I'm a little nervous about the Rams as well. So yeah, I love the 49ers. I have, I'm, I'm heavily invested in the 49ers.
Zack: Okay, we have some more disagreements. You'll have to see it. Next up, NFC North. Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings. Very interesting. Tens.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, stacked division, loaded with talent. Big trade last week with Micah Parsons, Jordan, the Packers, and that's who I'm taking. ah Super young team, loaded with talent. I think Jordan Love could be a breakout MVP caliber type player this year.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: You add Micah Parsons to an already very good ah defensive line with Rashawn Gray. um Yeah, I think they're going to terrorize quarterbacks. i'm seeing ah I'm calling a big step back for the Lions. If you remember, I gave Lions under win total um not too long ago, replacing three starters on the interior of their offensive line. Aiden Hutchinson's coming back from a devastating leg injury, and you lose both coordinators and a lot of position coaches. So give me the consistent and steady Green Bay Packers.
Mason: Yeah, I'm going to follow up with that. All of these things I'm about to mention are top 10 yards per game, fifth, sixth in allowing yards per game, eighth in the NFL points per game, and then allowed points, sixth in the NFL with 19.9 points per game.
Mason: So offense, defense, both sides of the ball, they were highly ranked and ranked. 2024 only see them moving Mm hmm. and twenty twenty five
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: that Packers with me.
Mason: yes yeah
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay, gotcha. Yeah, and Matthew Golden, rookie wide receiver, he's goingnna be ah he's going to be a monster. I cannot believe they let him like fall to them.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Plus Micah Parsons. I mean, this team's just, they're loaded.
Zack: Okay. We are down to our last division.
Zack: NFC South, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Bucks.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Fitting.
Zack: ah Mason?
Mason: I'm going to go the Saints. I'm just kidding. I'm going to go Falcons here. um ah Yeah.
Zack: Something.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Ooh.
Mason: every every I've seen all these memes about Kyle Pitts' his final... This is his year. and I really do think that he'll break out because Michael Pennix showed us the small amount that he can step into this role. And they went full... and They went all in on him. So I'm going to go With the Falcons here.
Mason: And if there is injuries, we talked about this before. I think two years ago, the most starting quarterbacks ever. And who's to who has probably has the best backup quarterback in the league right now?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But so, but Kirk Cousins is like not happy with the Falcons because he's essentially asked for his release. And then he kind of told on them about the whole injury not being reported at the end of last year.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: so the Falcons are mad at him. That's why they're not releasing him or trading him.
Mason: Until he's not on the team anymore, I'm going to...
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, but he, but so if Michael Penix is hurt, what's stopping Kirk from saying, oh, I'm hurt too. I'm not playing.
Zack: Good question.
Mason: Yeah, but the the quarterback Netflix show, he's such a stand-up guy, and i don't see him doing I'm just kidding.
Zack: Thanks.
Mason: I'm just messing with you all. But, I mean, that could be a possibility. But I'm just saying, as of right now, with without all of that, which could possibly happen, I think if there was an injury to a starting quarterback...
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Mason: um that could be ah okay situation. they're not gone They're not done for the season Kirk Cousins actually does step in.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Mason: So...
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I like the Falcons. They lost their right tackle McKinsky. Who's like a top graded, uh, run blocker. And that's the Falcons want to run the ball. Bijan Robinson, them the ball, set up, play action, move the pocket around for pennocks.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, so with all that and their pass rush is pretty non-existent. They're depending on two first round rookies to step in and, and produce at a high level quickly for them.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, I think the Bucs repeat. I think they just have too much talent on the offense. Returning all of their starters from last year and then adding, um I can't say his name, but the kid from Ohio State, the wide receiver, he's got one of them names.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: It's like I'm not even going to try it. His name starts with E-G-U-K. No, not going to happen.
Zack: Oh, egg Buka.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, like that. Adding him to that offense, I just think they're going to win a lot of shootouts. even though i mean, their defense is just okay. So I think they can win a lot more shootouts with Baker in that offense and win a pretty easy division.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: pretty Pretty soft. I do think the Falcons will be in the mix until the end.
Zack: Okay. Well, um let's wrap up this conversation. We have a couple of things left. Let's do NFC champion then. um Tens NFC champion. Who you got?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, I'm going with the 49ers. I think the 49ers get back ah on the back of Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle. I think it's going to be a ah really big year for both those guys.
Zack: Mason.
Mason: Commanders were one game away from making a Super Bowl last year. i say that they make it this year. Give me the Ravens versus the Commanders.
Zack: Wow.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Wow, that'd be a fun matchup.
Zack: What a matchup. Okay. So let's just do it here then. You both have picked your Super Bowl. Tens, Chiefs, 49ers. Who wins?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think the Chiefs would win it again. i think ah they're definitely – yeah, hopefully.
Zack: Travis Kelsey goes off to the sunset. Taylor.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um
Zack: Taylor.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, it doesn't mean we'd see any less of him, but ah at least there will be no more football games.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: At least. But, yeah, no, I'd say Chiefs – I got Chiefs beating the 49ers. Yeah. Yeah. um yeah
Zack: Mason.
Mason: I'm going to go Ravens beating the Commanders. 35 to 28.
Zack: Okay. Shout out Derrick Henry.
Mason: Yeah.
Zack: We're all champion.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: well Well, 35-28. You can bet that.
Zack: Score prediction.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: the That's somewhere in the African. I know you can. They have endless markets for Super Bowl's future.
Mason: ah but
Zack: Okay. Last piece of our NFL prediction segment here. We're doing MVP predictions. Mason. A spicy one for us.
Mason: I do. I'm going to go. You guys are going to me for this. I'm going to go with a long shot here. Gino Smith. I have reasons why.
Zack: Great value.
Mason: i know this isn't a betting thing, but if you want to bet it plus 10,000 for those, for those who need ah hold on, I got, I got stat for those who need a refresher.
Zack: my gosh.
Mason: Gino and Pete Carroll are back together. but in Vegas this time. They played in the 22 and 23 season. When Geno became the starting quarterback in 2022 following the Russell Wilson trade, guess what happened?
Mason: He threw for over 4,000 yards and won NFL comeback player of the year.
Mason: I like, ah we'll see what happens with Gentile. Yes, go ahead, Tenz.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: who Who was the starting wide receivers for the really good Seattle Seahawks?
Mason: Well, as you we're going talk about our bets later, but I think Jacoby Myers is going to break out, obviously. um
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Tell me that Jacoby Myers is DK Metcalf, please.
Mason: they Brock Bowers. No, he's not he's not those.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay.
Mason: Brock Bowers, Jacoby Myers, ah DeAndre Thornton's there. ah Yeah, we'll see what happens. You don't like it? ah Listen, it's a court it's an MVP.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: oh I'm not a Geno Smith guy.
Zack: Plus 10,000, Mason.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm not a Gino guy.
Mason: Well, i'm taking I'm taking a long shot here.
Zack: It's a good long shot.
Mason: Thank you.
Zack: Okay, 10s.
Mason: same step Same as
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay.
Zack: Who do you have?
Mason: cam ward
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Zack: Yep. I'm not betting on the keyboard a
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Uh, I'm going with Joe Burrow. I think he gets the, the Bengals to a wildcard spot. He, he was, he started entering the MVP discussions last year for just how he was dragging the Bengals to wins, just scoring so many points.
Zack: Super Bowl.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think that kind of sets up the narrative. That's what they're going into this year is like, all right, Joe Burrow is just going to, we're going to put up 45 and we hope our defense can just not give up 46.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um got both his guys paid i forever worry about their offensive line but I think if Joe Burrow can put on one of those magical 50 touchdown seasons with 5,000 yards it's hard not to give him the MVP
Mason: He literally almost threw for that last year. It was like 4,900 yards.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: yeah yeah
Mason: And he threw for, he led the league in touchdowns as well with 43. Really Yeah.
Zack: Tint's a big O-line guy tonight. He's all over.
Mason: really is
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: no I'm a big O-line guy.
Zack: He knows ball.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: all Yeah, you've got a bad O-line, I'm on your tail.
Zack: Okay. um Great previews, everyone. Great work Mason and Tint's. um we are excited to watch some nfl this weekend we will be giving some more predictions and stuff here at the end um before we get to our weekend predictions we have and a brand new segment to launch right now uh this is new to everyone i think it's going to fun little segment uh we are calling it best of the rest and this is a a college football segment where
Zack: ah We have chosen a game from around the country that is non non big two. This is off of the beaten path a little bit, but it's going to be fun, competitive. you get to watch it on TV. i think the idea is that the.
Zack: National media covers a lot of games. And we want to cover something a little different. We want to cover some games maybe no one else is covering. We want to give a little bit of ah context to some games you might see on while you're scrolling, while you're in between matchups in a commercial break or whatever, and you you stop and you're like, you know what?
Zack: Next up podcast told me a little bit about this game. It should be fun to watch. let's Let's tune in. And so here on the very first matchup of the best of the rest segment.
Zack: We have a barn burner happening, uh, in the pack 12 versus, uh, I'm not even sure tens where, what is Fresno state in the mountain West.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Mountain West Mountain West.
Zack: Um, so tens and I have prepared, we we've, we've done a deep dive into these teams. We're going to just present some information to you, talk about the betting lines, how we might want to bet on it.
Zack: Uh, and then we'll recap it at the end, um, on our, review episode coming after the weekend tens um do me to go first i'll even say what the matchup is uh the matchup oregon state fresno state uh these the line is oregon state minus three so they are favored uh both teams had a rough week last week
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yes.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Zack: Fresno State's coming in one and one Oregon State's coming in at o and one So I'm going to break down a little bit of Oregon State And in what they're about And then Tens will do a little bit on Fresno State And then we'll we'll kind of come together Talk about what we think is going to happen Make some predictions So Oregon State um They are part of the PEC 2 currently That will be expanding With some Mountain West teams and such next year um They Through a weird scheduling thing Actually play Washington State twice this season ah fun fact
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: no
Zack: I'm sure if I've seen that happen before. They have a home and away in the same season.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Uh, that's crazy.
Zack: The only other member of the pack to Washington state. So they went five and seven last year. I think universally the goal for Oregon state was just to make a bowl game. ah They had a, they have a second year coach now, Trent Bray, who was the former defensive coordinator. A fun fact. They're one of a very few teams in the FBS right now who have all three of their main coaches were graduates of that university.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Hmm.
Zack: So head coach, defensive coordinator and offense corner all graduated from Oregon State. I'm not sure helps them win football games, but fun fact. ah Last week, they lost to California in a pretty bad way. They actually were favored, I think.
Zack: ah They lost 34 to 15 to California and really struggled.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: They were.
Zack: um A couple of let's talk about their schedule first, and then we'll kind of get into some of the players to watch. um They have a pretty tough schedule coming up after this game. They play Texas Tech, who's ranked number 24 currently, and then they go to Oregon to play after that.
Zack: So the road does not get easier. If they lose this game, they could very well start 0-4. Pretty important game for them to to get right a little bit before a tough schedule. Um, let's do it. Let's do a little bit about their team.
Zack: Malik Murphy is kind of the big, big name to watch. Uh, he had a decent game. He, he still passed for about 250 yards. He ran for a touchdown. So he was a kind of a bright spot for that team.
Zack: He had almost 3000 yards last year at Duke, which was a program record. So he transferred in, uh, to Oregon state. Anthony Hankerson, running back, run game was very solid.
Zack: He had 1,000 yards last year, 15 touchdowns, so he was also a bright spot. um Trent Walker, wide receiver, had 81 catches for 900 yards. So offensively, was not horrible.
Zack: I will tell you the the weakness of this team, by and large, is their defense. Defensive line ah only got eight sacks last season total. that That was good enough for last in all of FBS.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Bye.
Zack: um It's a hard stat to be last in. So only eight sacks total. um And they like they they allowed almost 185 rush yards per game. So defensive line was a serious problem. they They've bolstered a little bit, but it seems like that's still a struggle for them.
Zack: ah California caught some breaks, but they outplayed them in week one. So tens. That's Oregon State. ah What do you got on Fresno State?
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: that That was a lot of good stuff about Oregon State. ah Fresno State has been a team that has been very competitive in the Mountain West for a long time.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Jake Haynert was like five-year player there. um They had always been competing for the Mountain West until last year. ah They went 4-3 in conference, 6-7 total.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: First really bad year they've had in a long time and resulted in the firing of everyone.
Zack: Hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um Hiring hiring ah head coach Matt Entz from North Dakota State. He was the head coach for North the Dakota State from 2019 to 2023.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But he was part of the staff that had won back-to-back national titles for the North Dakota State Bison Division II football
Zack: Hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um He was their defensive coordinator since 2014. So he'd been a part of some successful teams out there. Completely different coaching style coming to Fresno State. Fresno State has been a team that likes to air it out, air raid, score a lot of points. he is going He is transitioning more into a pro-style defensive-minded team.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: And to do that, they brought in E.J. Warner. Now you might recognize that last name, Warner. This is E.J. Warner is the son of Kurt Warner, famous NFL quarterback, had played his college ball.
Zack: Okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: He's a fifth year senior, ah started out at Temple and last season was with Rice, um where he was.
Zack: right
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: The offensive coordinator, I guess, came from Rice. He was the QB coach, and the Matt Entz hired him to be his offensive coordinator, and that's what brought EJ Warner over with him.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Now, EJ Warner is an okay quarterback, but so far in this season, he has been struggling. he has not thrown a touchdown yet. He's actually thrown four interceptions and thrown for a little over 400 yards.
Zack: you
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: But Fresno State really depends on their running back, Bryson Donaldson, sophomore quarterback. is sophomore i played last year for Fresno State as a freshman.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Fresno State did play week zero against Kansas and got smacked around a little bit. Bounced back this week against Georgia Southern, even though they were losing at half, until absolutely pouring it on the second half, winning final score 42-14.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: fourteen um Their schedule does get a little bit tougher with this Oregon State game. Or, I'm sorry, after Oregon State, it gets a little bit softer before they go into the Mountain West play where their next two mashups are against Southern and then Hawaii at Hawaii.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So, really looking to – they want to steal this game going into Mountain West play and kind of get on a roll because they should win their next two games. And then after that, it's all the Mountain West um normal opponents.
Zack: Okay. Very interesting matchup here. It feels like two different teams on two different trajectories. Fresno state with a win here could be kind of looking, looking like they could take control of the mountain West and have a really good season.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: especially with Boise Stuntman too.
Zack: Oregon state. Yeah. I mean, I'm, Who knows Oregon state looking to salvage their season, honestly, uh, prevent me probably an Owen for start.
Zack: Um, okay. So the line is minus three Oregon state over under 45 and a half. Um, if I had to pick one bet out of this after hearing tenses, uh, remarks and doing my own research, this going to sound crazy. I think I'm going over 45 and a half though.
Zack: I think Malik Murphy at quarterback for Oregon State is going to, I think he's getting better. I think he's going to come out and try and ball out against Fresno State. Seems like Fresno State's, it seems like Oregon State's defense is just not very good. They allowed 34 to Cal.
Zack: um If they allow even closer to Fresno State, this could be a high scoring affair.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Zack: ah kind of like the points there.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah. I, uh, I definitely liked that over as well. I don't see where Oregon state defensively is going to like, I don't think EJ Warner is going to come in and light anything up, but this running back for Fresno state Donaldson, or I'm saying his name wrong, uh, is a very talented kid. Like he, he was, uh, someone they thought would enter the transfer portal and go get, go transfers like a bigger school.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Um, one of the state of Fresno state, he's local. Um, So I think he could be very dangerous. So yeah, I i definitely like the over.
Zack: ah I know I just have no idea it's very tough I do like the point that's a fine prediction I think I'll give the over I like that
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I don't know about the spread one way or the other. i like the points though.
Zack: and
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think you would say Oregon State should should win because they should there should be a talent gap.
Zack: may need to win you would think
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: there They are a former power five school. um
Zack: I'm kind of betting on Malik Murphy, the quarterback at this point.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: RIP to the Pac-12s.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Zack: That's, that's who my bets on more than anything else.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Okay. Yeah. Looking at Fresno state, I just, I like points. I think both teams could score a little bit, but I do.
Zack: Me too.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think Oregon state covers that.
Zack: Okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I've, I've been a long time, Oregon state guy.
Zack: You have been, it's a weird, it's a weird take for me, but I like it.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: i I bet on him randomly one night ah against UCLA.
Zack: Okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: remember was at your parents' house, and I was like, it was like almost 10 o'clock, and my wife was like, can we go home? i said, I can't leave. Oregon State's about to win me a huge bet.
Mason: Bye.
Zack: The power of sports betting folks right there.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yep.
Zack: Okay. um Well, let's wrap up our show today with, um and we we can maybe do a little bit of rapid fire predictions here. We are um going to be giving a couple of just things to watch for the upcoming week.
Zack: um We're going to, to compete against AI here at the very end. Let's go ahead and do, um The game we're most looking forward to and um a little bit of why.
Zack: Tins, you want to go first, Mason? man Let's let Mason go first.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: All right.
Zack: Mason, you think?
Mason: I'm go with Sunday night football rematch of the AFC divisional round that the Bills won 27 to 25 against the Ravens. Bills versus Ravens. Both of these quarterbacks are fantastic in primetime games since 2022. Jackson is 7-1 and Allen is Short, sweet to the point.
Mason: allen is six and two
Zack: I
Mason: short sweete to the point
Zack: love it.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: like it.
Zack: Tens.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um My eyeballs are going be somewhere i don't think a lot of people's are going to be, and that's going to be the Washington Commanders versus the Giants.
Zack: Oh.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm very interested to see if the Commanders come out and are a dominant team like everyone has predicted all summer. I mean, they should be against a weak Giants team, right? Well, divisional underdogs on the road in the last 10 years are sixty seven and forty four against the spread. I know we're not talking about betting, but it's six-point spread.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I like the Giants to keep it close. I think this defense is going to lights out. Abdul Carter could win and should win Defensive Rookie of the Year. um And I think Russell Wilson gives them just enough stability to be a competitive team.
Zack: All right. That is fun one. Um, and from the world of college, I think probably game of the week. Um, Mason's Michigan Wolverines, uh, at Oklahoma.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Those frauds.
Zack: Um,
Mason: frauds after a win.
Zack: I'm pretty excited about this game. We got a fun, think both of these teams. um I'm going to go ahead and do my player to watch. And it's actually two players going to be on the same field. um That would be Bryce Underwood for Michigan versus John Mateer for Oklahoma.
Zack: Very fun quarterback matchup. Two guys who are in new homes this season. um Well, Bryce Underwood is up from high school this season. So he is, this is his first big time ah college game.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: You.
Zack: He heard the next got podcast and Mason trashing on him. Said he wasn't going to be garbage, even in a winning effort. um Michigan going to Oklahoma should be a very fun atmosphere.
Zack: think it's going to be a very fun game to watch.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Zack: I hope it's competitive. We will see what John Mateer is all about. his Heisman campaign really starts this week if if it's coming. So fun one.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: All right. I like that one. I don't like John Mateer. Yeah. I don't know why I'm just against Oklahoma. Brent Venable is getting fired before. Yeah.
Zack: It's also against LSU and Ole Miss for the record, everybody. Keep it track at home.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah.
Mason: Thank
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah. i was I was wondering about Ole Miss. was like, yeah, I don't think they'll be as good because they lost everybody, but who knows. All right, my player to watch this weekend is Travis Hunter.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Outside of being a Jaguar fan, this is the debut of the –
Zack: Hmm.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Apparently full-time player on both sides of the ball, Travis Hunter. We've not seen this in the NFL. um I'm going to have firsthand experience. I'm going to be at the game in the stands, so I will be reporting live on how it goes.
Zack: Let's go.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um But very excited to see this. And who knows? This could be the future. There could be a lot more players who want to do this someday.
Zack: Could be.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So very excited to see how it goes.
Mason: Yeah, for some reason, no one asked me to do this, but I went on record and said that if Travis Hunter plays on both sides of the ball for all 17 games, that I will take my tongue to one of those electric fly swatter things.
Mason: So nobody dared me to do that.
Zack: Love a punishment.
Mason: Nobody like said anything. i just went out and said it for I just volunteered myself. So
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Mason likes to write checks that he eventually has to cash.
Zack: sweet He does.
Mason: we'll just see what happens. I think for me, it was like, is is it going to be, is this body going to, nobody's done it for a reason. And so we'll just see what happens. I hope no injuries happen, but I'm wondering if, yeah, you're not
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: he's ah He's a special athlete.
Zack: He's Bill Differ, Mason.
Mason: He is built different. Okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: We hired a whole sports science team just for him, for him, his personal well-being.
Mason: Did you really?
Zack: There you go.
Mason: Oh, okay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, we hired a whole sports science team. that's what ah Their whole job is to map out his everyday exercises and stretches and game plan of how to do drills to keep him healthy.
Mason: Okay, what other podcast brings that to the table and then teaches you about Fresno State? I'm waiting. No other podcast.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um'm I'm waiting.
Zack: Probably not. Okay.
Mason: yeah
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: and
Mason: Exactly. Okay, I'm going to...
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Nobody's got a bag as deep as us.
Mason: That's right. I'm actually going to go with players to watch, and I'm going to go a different route with this. um To me, and Tinsley talked about his game of the week, I'm going to go on the commander's depth chart, the running backs. I think it's the most mysterious...
Mason: of all the the depth charts.
Zack: Very mysterious.
Mason: For this reason, they they brought out the depth chart, Austin Eckler, Jeremy McNichols, then Chris Rodriguez Jr., and then Bill Crossy Merritt, which ah a lot of people went and got him on any fancy draft because they thought he was going to start, and he's seventh rounder.
Zack: Trash.
Zack: Big on him.
Zack: He is going to start.
Mason: So,
Zack: He's just starting.
Mason: We'll see what happens. I did want to say, I know we're talking about not betting, but the books do know things for scoring touchdown, Austin Eckler plus one 70.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: here.
Mason: jerry mcnichols Jeremy McNichols is plus 500. So they don't think he's getting to the end zone at all. Then Chris ro Rodriguez is plus one 80. And then, Bill crossy, uh, crossy merit is plus three 30. um,
Zack: It's pretty good.
Mason: I'm interested to see what happens, if it's just full-blown committee between all of them, if Austin Eckler catches and they split running, who knows, but that's one my most excited players to watch.
Zack: Okay. okay We're going to wrap up the show with our ah prediction against AI. So here's how we've done it. We've each picked our best bet of the weekend. We're going to share it and then we will share what chat GPT thinks is the best bet of the weekend. We've found the two parlays together and so we're going to track how we do against AI over the course of the season.
Zack: So Mason, best bet of the weekend.
Mason: ourba kept Everybody's been giving me hard time about my Raiders love. I'm going to go with Jacoby Myers. 2022, four catches for 55 yards.
Zack: it.
Mason: 2023, nine catches for 81 yards. 2024, three catches for 61 yards. ah We talked about how much Geno Smith and Pete Carroll like to sling the ball around when they're on the same team together.
Mason: Besides Brock Bowers, who else is competing for receiving on that team as of right now, unless someone else emerges? I'm going 50 yards for the game. Jacoby Myers.
Zack: love it
Mason: Could get that on a deep pass.
Zack: Yeah, AI not giving you that pick.
Mason: He's over there long.
Zack: i guarantee it Tens?
Mason: That's right.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Guarantee it.
Zack: Hmm.
Mason: Guarantee it.
Zack: ten
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: um I went with the line moved. Originally, I was going to take Michigan plus five and a half, but it's down to four and a half, and that's okay. I'm fine with that. If you're feeling extra frisky, turn it to a money line, but I'll take the points that give them to me.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Michigan plus four and a half. I just think this Michigan team – is better. I think they're more talented. think they're just more fundamentally sound.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I think a Brent Venables team can be broken pretty easily. And don't know. think Bryce Underwood is just, he's that guy.
Zack: Hmm. Mason? mason
Mason: Yeah, i'm conflicted. That's part of me. I had that take last week.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Part of this was a spike.
Mason: Uh, is it really? Well, I just, I'm,
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I just like, Mason said something so ridiculous that i'm I have to go again. Like, you you said they were the frauds of the week, and I just don't see and a half.
Zack: They won pretty easily. me Okay. My pick is going to be ah Florida USF over.
Zack: ah What was the number? That's a lot of points. I'm taking the over. Here is why. i have a couple reasons. First of all, Alex Golish used to be the offensive coordinator at UT, so i'm I'm pretty familiar with him. He is on the come up. He's going to be in a Power 4 school very soon. His offenses are pretty electric.
Zack: They are the ones who um who really put it to Boise State last week, and so I expect that they are going to, at the very least, put up some points.
Zack: DJ Lagway is trying to kick off his Heisman campaign against kind of the first real competition they've seen. i expect there to be fireworks in this game. i think the. Florida offense is going to put up a lot of points. I don't think that USF has a chance to win, but I do think they will put up points or die trying. So I am going with the points here. 56 a half.
Zack: It feels like a lot, but these two offenses are are pretty good. I'm not sure either of them are going too convinced that defense is important in this game. So I'll check it over.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: Yeah, I like that bet as well. you see USF ah was a team, i can't remember who they played last year, but they gave somebody a run for their money. They can put up points. Like you said, Adam Gullish is not he's not, he's not afraid of any school.
Zack: Trying to shoot out. Yep.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: like he's He's ready to, like he he'll have his guys ready. They'll score at least 20 points. That's my prediction.
Zack: That's all I need. Yeah, they score 20 points.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: All right, so
Zack: We're good.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: So the next guy up podcast parlay comes out to plus six 44. Okay. And so I took that and I asked chat GPT, our arch enemy for the season. i said, Hey, you can, you can use any picks from college or NFL, including player props and give us a parlay.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's between 600 and 700 odds. Not only did it coward its way out because it's the odds are not that much, but, But they gave us a straight loser. um starting Starting out, they first leg, they gave us Eagles minus seven and a half.
Zack: Uh.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: That's a lot of points. That's a lot of points on ah on a sleepy Thursday night Super Bowl hangover. i don't know. Seven and a half. That's a lot of points against a Cowboys offense that can light it up with Dak Prescott when he's healthy.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: ah Leg number two was the Chargers plus three. We're down in Brazil. I don't know. I just think that the Chiefs kind of run away with that one.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: I'm not big on the Chargers, lot of injuries. So that's another L on that leg there for the for the chat GPT AI parlay. And this leg I actually like, so props to the chat GPT, but it's already lost because it lost on Thursday and then again on Friday.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: but Mississippi State plus 6.5 against Arizona State. I actually do like that bet. um It is going to be one of my bets I give out on TikTok this weekend. but i do think I trust the SEC there. I'm down on Arizona State. but ah The AI parlay comes out to plus 5.88.
Next Guy Up Podcast Network: If you want to ride with them and lose money, that's that's on you. but we are We plan on beating AI starting out week one strong.
Zack: Yep. Need it. um okay i love that thank you all for being here with us we we plan to we have a couple of new segments we're going to follow through the rest of the season we'll be back with our reaction to the week in the weekend in sports so we're gonna be back on monday with those and so we are excited for a very very big fun weekend in in football officially being back all over the place pros in college
