Speaker: but Good evening, Brockton Barry. I'm Alan the Sock Puppet because I was not at my seat when the timer went out. Hello!

Speaker: but nailda couldnt tell the difference I love that you just had that sock ready. That's okay. I was making myself a nice milk, dark hot chocolate, ah black rhino ah from is it rio's David Rios chai and teas and stuff.

Speaker: are It's so good. You barely need to put any sugar in at all. Does that mug say abuelo on it as well? Yes. Very nice. It's very from my what I'll call the extended daddy collection of I have.

Speaker: The grandpa in this case. I've got my grandpa. I've got Papa. I've got Abuelo. And I have a new one from a local coffee shop. Father of the fucking year.

Speaker: Nice. Are you buying these for yourself? Honestly... Yes, most of them Honestly, that that is more dad-related mugs than I own, and I'm an actual father. right i just to have I used to have like two ah trophy husband t-shirts.

Speaker: Yeah, I bought the second one for him. He got rid of them both. i i Which is sad, but they were both so tight. doesn't want to be my trophy husband. They were so tight. It's because I beat you so good.

Speaker: Yes, and also I was just wearing t-shirts that were way too tight at the time. There you go yeah they look i actually listen Now that I thought about it not to sidetrack the podcast onto mugs, um I have a vast mug collection.

Speaker: have a vast mug collection and I realized i have not a single dad mug, I don't think. Nothing about being a dad on a mug. i read Not a single one? Not a single one.

Speaker: and of i mean i've got a mug coercing i've gotten a lot of That's true. I've gotten a couple. I do have a mug collection, which is a dad. fate ah you know Yeah, fast exactly. yeah um but ah But yeah, so I've got like mugs I got from being a teacher. I've got like a D&D mug. I've got um tons of other random mugs. But yeah, nothing about being a dad.

Speaker: yeah Hannah, J-Man your hair looks pretty cool. kids don't even love me. Thanks, J-Man. It's um peach on the top, and it's got lime green underneath. And I just redid the green, so it's very fun summer vibes. I look like a watermelon. I feel really cute. And got my little space buns today my little pumpkin vest.

Speaker: We're feeling very cute today. I was going to say the hair matches the colors of the pumpkins and stuff on your vest as well, I feel like. Lean in a little closer for me for the colors real quick.

Speaker: Nick, shut up. No, listen, listen. He's colorblind. He can't tell. It's rough. It's rough for me. say It looks great, though. I'm sure to normal-eyed people it looks fine. Ah, yes.

Speaker: Yes, it's a little better. I can it a bit better. Gray and slightly different gray. Gray and more gray for the colorblind people. Fran pointed out, Nick, you could always get a mug that says Mommy's Little Monster, like if you want.

Speaker: You know, I have a joke with my wife because my grandmother was once learned how to order mugs off of like Facebook using Facebook pictures and posts.

Speaker: And so I've got a really random picture of me on a mug that she gave me. And so i I always, I will often, not always, but I often will serve my wife coffee in it and say, it's your favorite mug, honey.

Speaker: Look, it's your favorite mug. And that that's the real dad in me is the jokes.

Speaker: Well, if that shows you how much I, at least I care about this section of reading, um I think, that if you ah yeah, we'll will continue. Welcome to the Rockton Bay Book Club.

Speaker: I'm your host, Alan. Joined with me is also your host, Hannah. hi Jacob. Hello. Nick.

Speaker: Hello there. And a secret sleeper cell agent from Argentina, Michael. Hello. okay ah ah How'd that World Cup go, Michael?

Speaker: yeah you Had to throw the dig in there. Second best is okay. You know, i think like best is not bad. It's crazy. The second best and not even the most exciting like game going on that weekend. That's very fair. I heard somebody talk about repealing Messi's like goat status just because of how much of a loser he was during that last game. And I really can't. He's the only one on their team that played. What do you mean? He really was, but like, you know, he also wasn't, you know,

Speaker: is He can't carry a whole team in the final. think Not with that attitude. That's why they lost. He carried them the whole way to the final. and and think you know yeah As J-Man put, excited for another episode of Oops! All Titans podcast.

Speaker: And let me tell you, I'm so close to just playing like blueprints on my second monitor while we do this. that's how I have one note for this. have one note for this entire thing. That's it.

Speaker: Shut your face. So, look, Nick couldn't even stand to be on the podcast. I know. He had to leave. The two most racist Spanish-speaking countries really went head-to-head this time around. Yeah, Fran, we would just delay. You know what? We'll get through what we're talking about, and then we'll just spend the back half of the podcast talking about the World Cup when we get done at 9 o'clock talking about the only two things that happened in this entire half the arc. Absolutely not.

Speaker: um Absolutely. yeah or It's crazy. The two most racist Spanish-speaking countries. You know what? That's what we'll argue about at the end of whether they're the most racist. Argentina, for sure.

Speaker: But we'll argue on Spanish, though. places it On Spain. Five seconds. Yeah, yeah you'll you'll you'll have a lot to say about this, I'm sure. But, you know, keep that in mind. Who are the two most racist Spanish-speaking countries in the world?

Speaker: We're not getting that. That's going to be the debate. Michael's ready for this. I know he's ready to throw Peru in there. have so many things to say, but I'm professional. See, there's one man I know is an expert. But let's get started. Initial thoughts.

Speaker: Can we mute him? What do you mean? I'm trying to lead the church. I'm trying to introduce the podcast right now. Oh God. Hannah, what are your initial thoughts on these chapters? 19.1 to It was a lot. um It was definitely a lot of chapters. um I had a couple of different emotional rollercoaster moments happen throughout this.

Speaker: um There were times where I thought we were going to die. There were times where I thought we were going to win. And there were times where I'm pretty sure we're all going to die again. um i actually really enjoyed these chapters. ah Last couple of arcs have been a little bit difficult with the fighting, but I actually really liked these. ah So, Alan, you're in the minority and we hate you. So...

Speaker: Wow. That's great. No, no, I'm not. Actually, no, I'm not. Alan disparaging things that I like.

Speaker: So rude. Jacob. um I do disagree with Anna. I don't agree with Alan. I'll take it. I like them from a...

Speaker: i liked them from a from a just like a ah literary sense. I, I enjoyed reading them as I always enjoy reading wild boat chapters, but I'm not, uh, I'm not enjoying this as the big climax that we've been building to it feels rushed and undeserved.

Speaker: Uh, and although I did like, there are a lot of really interesting little moments in these chapters that we'll get into that I really liked and some, interesting conversations that I really liked.

Speaker: um I'm just not invested. I just don't i just don't care. It felt like Scion, you know the phrase, like or it's like you know the the beatings will continue until morale approves.

Speaker: I feel like with Worm and Ward, it's like the comparisons will continue until the story improves. So like when we hit Worm, Scion was a bit scion was a bit of ah of a surprise in-universe, but reading it, we expected something.

Speaker: Basically from chapter one when he's introduced in the story. like You know that ticking time bomb is going off at some point. And so like you get there, and it's the culmination of everything.

Speaker: The Titans, yes, the Dauntless Titan is introduced in arc, what, 14? 13, 14, something like that? um But that's about it.

Speaker: And there's just no... I don't know. edge of It's not working for me. but I'll shut up for now. Nick? To piggyback off of what Jacob was just saying, I do feel like the comparison there...

Speaker: is you think about, like, when is the Dauntless Titan introduced and this problem is introduced, ah is later. It's in the latter half of the narrative as a now a new developing problem, right?

Speaker: Whereas Dinah's, you know, quote-unquote prophecy that the world was going to end, that was something, i don't remember how early we knew about it in Wyrm, but it felt fairly early. Oh, it's pretty early.

Speaker: It's pretty early that we know, like, we meet Dinah, we know something's going to happen. I want to say it's post-Leviathan, maybe? But I'm like very soon after it is. I'm pretty sure it's before then.

Speaker: Because they find out about her, they have a big fight over like her being on drugs. So that's it's either she gives the prophecy... It's arc 10.

Speaker: Before. Which one though? I guess. ah Before. Like right before eight. Right before Leviathan fight maybe. Okay. Almost immediately after where she's trying to figure out.

Speaker: you know how to do that while Slaughterhouse-9's there. So yeah it feels like, narratively, the stakes in Wyrm are already set up for the endgame.

Speaker: Whereas this... when When you said that phrase, the the beatings will continue until morale approves. The prophecy is during Slaughterhouse-9, Beefaroni says. Okay, so it is post-Leviathan. um But the stakes are sort of set for...

Speaker: the eventual endgame of Wyrm, which is, you know, it's 30 arcs, so it is longer. I'll give it that. um Well, sort of longer. Not in word count, if I understand it right. yeah um But with Ward, it does feel like...

Speaker: Yeah, a Counterpoint J-Man says broken triggers, which eventually culminates in Titans, was introduced in the Worm epilogue. While true, I guess it doesn't really... Maybe it doesn't feel the same because it's not so specific. It's just like, we don't know what's going on. Yeah. I don't know. Anyway, all that... Yeah.

Speaker: I'm sorry, Nick. Go ahead. No, it's okay. I was just going to say that... the I guess the setup didn't quite land with the payoff, so to speak, in the same way that it does with Wyrm. It's not to say it's not there completely. It's just not quite...

Speaker: the same. Um, all that to say though, arc 19, I am kind of with Jacob where I'm in the middle where I'm like, there's good stuff here. Uh, interludes are always banging as always, uh, Gil, Gil Patrick satisfied that need I had for a Charlotte forest character arc.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Um, And so I do appreciate that. Egg's interlude was fabulous. um Getting to understand his powers a bit better, because I'm like, what is he, just an actual egg person? Because that really sucks.

Speaker: But no, he's actually got powers, and pretty big ones too, it sounds like. So... um see yeah Yeah, very, very entresante there. Otherwise, though, like a lot of people have said in the comments, mostly remember Victoria and Big Gun. I genuinely thought Victoria was about to go Titan in 1906. I thought that was where this was headed.

Speaker: um and And that didn't go there. So I was kind of like, okay, all right, well. But there is a good moment at the end in 1906. We can talk about character-wise that I like.

Speaker: so yeah Long-winded way of saying it was all right. Yeah. yeah i'munus I'm gonna say, I'm gonna retcon a little bit of what I said. I really enjoyed these chapters, with the caveat, once again, that Ward has not been anywhere near as exciting as Wyrm was. So, like, in the context of how I've been in the past with Ward, I greatly enjoyed these chapters. But, um like, compared to the ending in Wyrm, like, we're not anywhere close to measuring up to Wyrm. Like, don't

Speaker: i kind of I kind of don't care. Every time they bring up the machine army, I i want to scream a little bit. So, i mean, there's that. But that being said, I really enjoyed this chapter.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. And it is kind of that, right? Where it's like, maybe that's part of what it is. is it's um There's this great clip. I'm going to pull a Jacob here real quick and make a ah film reference.

Speaker: um So, ah there's a great clip of George Lucas behind the scenes of Star Wars Episode one Where ah he was talking about how you know in Star Wars Episode four you kind of have two endings happening at the same time.

Speaker: Episodes V and VI, you kind of have like three endings happening at the same time. You get to episode one, and when George Lucas is doing episode one, if you watch it, you're like, there's like four different endings happening simultaneously in this movie. And it's kind of chaotic. Like, it's it's fun to watch still, but it's like, from a narrative perspective, it's very chaotic trying to wrap up all of these things that you've set up all at once.

Speaker: And there's this great clip where even behind the scenes, like after watching it all, George Lucas is even like, maybe I did a little too much. i Like, you know, like even he admits, like, maybe I set up too many things and it like it's a little too much. And you see that in episode two where there's, like, Anne ending in episode two. Like, there's not that much going on at the end.

Speaker: um at the climax of the film. And it feels that way with like Worm versus Ward maybe where it's like Worm, we have Scion. That is the ending, right? Like that is what we're focused on.

Speaker: But Ward has set up so many things between the machine army and the broken triggers and titans and the dream space and powers at all and the entities and it's like, and you know, all the other earths that are anti our earth. And it's just like,

Speaker: Then we have the personal arc with Amy where we have this personal quest now that happens at the end of 1906 where it's like, there's... there's

Speaker: and it live you wouldn't know that this was the ending but i've seen a lot of the comments of people being like are we are we getting to the end like is this the finale but you know and you can kind of feel like this is meant to be the big climax but it's just so much happening and and it kind of is a bit of a disappointment where it's like yeah the what army the what army who are they yeah what are they doing yeah who who like at worst the machine army are literally just excuse me all right hold on

Speaker: Hannah's choking. The nanobots got her. She was about to slam her. No, but but it it it like the most that the machine army is doing is they're just taking forces away from fighting the Titans. like That's the best that they're... But offscreen.

Speaker: like yeah But offscreen, not even here. like i don't even care. yeah yeah Yeah, the... I did not even make a bingo because I don't even think this set of chapters warranted it. Make your own bingo, chat.

Speaker: Yeah. Try to get us the same thing. Yeah, there you go. There you go. Try to get us with it if you can. Yeah. try to yeah try to get us try to get us with it if you can um you know and Try to get us to say things if you want. and If you do, as you succeed. Then you win.

Speaker: There you go. yeah Wow. um no I know that i know that like Man, there's so many things that I enjoy in Ward on a idea-based level.

Speaker: Theoretically, the concept of setting up broken triggers all the way in Worm, having them pay off with Titans and Shard Space is an excellent how-do-we-ramp-up stuff to a world-ending apocalyptic level.

Speaker: slowly over time until we have to, you know, Avenger style go all out, um, you know, to finish this theoretically, it's a great buildup.

Speaker: And I do think about it in overhead space, you know looking top down that like, yeah, that's a great idea, but, you know, POV in the moment, it just slogs and wild bow. I remember reading his like post-mortem for ward.

Speaker: Um, um It might have even been way, like, an even later post-mortem talking about it. um Just the amount of shit he was getting while writing Ward and the amount, you know, just the hate and how, you know, 50-50 the community was on every chapter, basically. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: it was not fun. It was not enjoyable for him to write ward. Um, I don't even remember where he said, like, you know, it basically stopped being fun, but you're like, and you kept writing for that much more. Like, Oh my God. Yeah.

Speaker: Um, and I think part of that is because like, he doesn't do unfinished work and I get it.

Speaker: And that sucks. But, you know, this is one of those where, like, maybe we pull the plug out. Like, maybe we do a little wrap-up, you know, earlier when that happens. You know, it's retrospective.

Speaker: And then come back to it maybe when you're... You've got something else, you know. um But, you know, you can't do that when you're a serial author, unfortunately.

Speaker: And you have for so many people even hate reading, you know, for the next ah the next thing. um Yes, and then as they pointed out, ah yeah we've read the Wild Boat blogs on Ward. I do remember that for the final chapter of the last episode of the podcast. Yes.

Speaker: ah Yeah, you're saying we should read them for our lives. Yeah, we should read them yeah, yeah. Because i I'm almost certain we've read them before. Maybe Jacob and I read them on the other... podcast maybe talk about ward um and yeah you know how much of a slog it was and you have to come up with i'm sick of this everybody else is sick of this let's just do the ending um everybody didn't like the time skip in worm which is understandable because he's like, look, I just, I could spend time here or I'm getting tired of this story. I don't want to write this every other day and for two years, you know, or post this every other day for two years.

Speaker: Like I just need this to be done. So I get hit in the quick fast forward button, skipping ahead. and and Yeah, I think that's what's going on here. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I gotta to hit the fast forward because I cannot deal with the hate anymore.

Speaker: I've got to just wrap this up. I've got to get to the part that I've kind of probably plotted out um and we're going to rush it a little bit, but that's just what it's got to be. um And I feel like yeah it was like arc 10 or 12 even um that he was like, yeah, I'm sick of this. And the fact that he went to arc 20. Yeah.

Speaker: um yeah like I feel so bad. Yeah, well, I think to right, that's the... There's an advantage and a disadvantage to a web serial or any kind of serialized writing.

Speaker: where you are getting that instant feedback. So I can understand if like you're in the middle of a passion project, but your community who you've cultivated and who you want to interact with, and you can't not read comments, like, come on, um is like divided on what you're writing. You can't, it's, you can't not let that influence how you feel about what you're writing and it'll come out in your writing.

Speaker: And so i can understand that being a bit defeating. Whereas if like, You know, you write a sequel book and everybody hates it. It's like, oh, well, it's done already. I don't have to think about it ever again.

Speaker: You know, it sucks that people if people are divided on it, but at least like you're not in the throes of creative labor trying to produce it. You're just, yeah, you've done it. And now so it's done.

Speaker: you You also tend to, if you're traditionally publishing, or even if you're indie publishing, like you tend to have a team behind you. like You have a group of people that are working on the project with you that you are like you're not carrying the burden by yourself. And like there's so much work that goes into rewrites and all of the edits and the line edits and you know, you have your beta readers and they're looking at problems before your book is ever hitting any type of wider audience. And like having those people to rely on when you are doubting your story, when you're doubting yourself, or if you're like, oh, I'm super excited about this. and all your readers are like, this is a terrible plot point. Like this doesn't make sense. Like you can, you can deal with it rather than like in this capacity where you're putting out a chapter,

Speaker: basically unedited and getting this massive reaction, which is, new yeah, no, I, there, there's a reason that I wouldn't do, I would never do a serial story like this because it's too fucking hard. Like, yeah, no, I think one of the reasons i liked ward a lot and, and even worm And why I glazed over a lot of the negative parts is because when you were flying through a story that you were enjoy, and it's not you're not having to wait episode to episode lingering on what's going on, there's no opportunity to think deeply about what just happened because you're just on to the next event.

Speaker: And if something is boring... you can spend that time thinking about what happened while you're reading and just kind of go really just go right over all the stuff because you can hit the accelerator on your reading speed while you're going through the boring sections and you can hit the break and reread paragraphs on the, you know, the great parts, like, oh my gosh, they really just pick up, you know, the two ton gun with the eight arms. Like that's sick as hell. Oh my God. They're in charge, charge space floor. It like, um you know, yeah and I think the difference between us reading, even now where we're having to read a set amount of sections and then stop is,

Speaker: a very different experience when I can just zone out and listen to the audio book and we're just done with that section. I'm working. So I'm just like burning time while I'm listening to it. And if I'm reading it, I can just floor through it. So yeah, I think that's part of the reason I'm like in retrospect, listening to this for like the third or fourth time or reading this for the third or fourth time.

Speaker: um It's an even different one. Cause I'm not hampered by having to stop and, you know fall asleep reading chapters. ah yeah Yeah. And like, if you are, and and we know the internet gets obsessive over their fandoms, um as is implied by some of the some of the comments in there our chat. If you are obsessive over a fandom and you get a chapter every two days, you probably read that single chapter multiple times, analyzing it, and even coming up with headcanons about like what's going to happen.

Speaker: And if if then the work shifts in a different direction or you think like, okay, next arc, something good's going to happen or next chapter. And then the next chapter is kind of more of the same. I mean, you think about how many times in our summaries we've even like mashed chapters together just for the sake of ease. yeah Like if imagine reading that, like you waited 24 hours for this new chapter. It drops, you read it and you're like,

Speaker: well, dang, nothing happened. Like, nothing I thought happened is gonna happen, like, but nothing happened. Yeah, sure. You know. There is an excellent pattern in Wyrm, and I can't remember if it continues in the other um serials, but...

Speaker: Worm does an excellent job of the classic serial trope, which is every chapter has an arc. Not every arc has an arc, surprisingly.

Speaker: um Some of them have to go across multiple arcs, but every chapter has its like little progression and ends on a cliffhanger almost every time.

Speaker: There's always a question being asked at the end of the chapter that begs you, I want more. I need to know why. And sometimes when I was reading it late at night, I would read it.

Speaker: And then I would literally flip and read the, like the first page of the next section and be like, okay, I got my answer. I can go to bed now. um And then of course I wouldn't cause I'd read the whole thing.

Speaker: um But ward, I don't feel like almost ever asks a question at the end of its chapters. Like,

Speaker: Or if they do, they're very, i like, so minimal, I don't care what the answer is. I don't need to know. Like, there's some times where it's like, oh my gosh, and then somebody died, and you're like, who's that somebody? You know, who's it going to be? Who's that Pokemon?

Speaker: It's Pikachu. It's Jigglypuff. Fuck. Fuck.

Speaker: um Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. J-Man points out, even the Fallen arc came faster than planned, arcs three and four, because the community was bored of spying on the villain's arc with Moose and Prancer at the start, which is a shame yeah because I really love the espionage part.

Speaker: I really liked that part. In hindsight, it was fun. I don't think, I don't remember if I enjoyed it at the time, though, because I was kind of like, what are we doing? We're literally just sitting on the walls. Yeah.

Speaker: Why? This is boring. Looking back at it, though, it was really fun. i loved like that little bit of cat and mouse because it was it was not it was not heavy yet.

Speaker: Things hadn't gotten too heavy yet. Right. right In summary, Wildo has huge balls for doing this. Of course. Yes. yeah The biggest balls of all time.

Speaker: No one else could compare. It's pretty crazy. Like, like ah as a creative, we're all creatives, but as a creative, like what's more vulnerable than than what he's, he's been doing for years. It's crazy.

Speaker: Yeah. I, I, so a quick question as creatives, because ah you're getting a lot of hate for series.

Speaker: right Do you continue that series or do you just hold the plug and do something else? Question. Is that series currently paying my bills?

Speaker: Yeah, that makes a huge difference. Yes, but it is making you miserable and you could. so my current life. Okay. Yeah, I was going to say. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. um yeah let's yeah listen You put up with a lot of shit when it's paying your bills. That is for it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. right I will say, as i i didn't get and really like any hate on my books when they came out. like i didn't get i I got like a couple of negative reviews, and that was it.

Speaker: And it wrecked me. Like it fucking killed me. And it was it was it was like reviews where people were like, didn't like the main character, had to stop halfway through, wasn't for me.

Speaker: Not people getting on and being like, you're garbage. Your story's garbage. Your plot's garbage. like That shit was trash. I'm going to say your name, and then I'm going to call you trash. Right, exactly. And and so, but the the thought of, and it was, I mean, I didn't have a, i I don't, still don't have a big audience or reader base, but the thought of like,

Speaker: Hundreds of people, thousands of people who read your stuff, who have subreddits based on your work, who are fifty fifty hating your stuff as it's coming out. Like, i i mean, I think realistically, i would probably just stop. I'd take a break. I'd go on hiatus. I'd go, okay, clearly I need to rethink the story. I'm going to take a break and I need to walk away from you guys because you guys are making me sad.

Speaker: And then I would go and I would sit in bed and I would eat a lot of cookies and cry for a bit. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. allibing That's what I like. The fact that he continued is yeah impressive. That's intense.

Speaker: Yeah. Which, you know, I'm sure, like you said, monetarily, there's also a lot of thought going into that because that's what people are here for Kind of a complete story.

Speaker: Eventually. Yeah. yeah I know for me, I would... like I don't write things necessarily for other people. I write things so that I can have something that I enjoy and maybe my close friends, so y'all really are the only people I care about. If other people...

Speaker: like it or don't like it, they can suck it. Like and I would keep, if I wrote a serial and everybody hated it, they're still reading it first off.

Speaker: But, and but you guys were like, no, I loved this. Haters are just more cool. You know what I mean? Y'all would be the deciding vote. If all four of you were like, all of a sudden, like,

Speaker: Ooh, I'd be like, writing suck maybe I'll write this the rest of this in my off time like as something else to finish it, just to have it done. But we'd be moving on. We'd be moving on so fast.

Speaker: I think most people would. That's my point. yeah yeah Yeah. Well, I was going to say, the question my question is, is that is that balls or is that like, I don't know, just youre and stubbornly having to finish it?

Speaker: I think it's i think he's admirable from my part. I think it is. Yeah, yeah I agree. yeah Yeah, it it certainly is because I think Being able to complete any sort of narrative arc is a difficult thing. And I have, not for a large audience, but I have attempted the web serial concept where I'm like, I'm going to write a chapter once a week and post it on a blog.

Speaker: you know And you know my mom will read it. and you know yeah ah But you know so i've tried that, just the the amount of energy it takes to to try to do that is really impressive. And I think that's part of why,

Speaker: um I think that's part of why we hold Worm in such high esteem is because we're like, wow, not only is this a really fun work to read, but it was a web serial. And that that just, not not off the cuff per se, but like it it came, you know, that that story just came out the puss looking like that. You know what I mean?

Speaker: Oh, no. Oh, I hate it. Oh, I hate it. Just bust it open like that. Yeah. Yeah. We were doing so well It was such a nice moment.

Speaker: Listen, i had that we were getting way too deep. I had to like you get bring us back up. Bring it back a little bit. Bring it back down, maybe? We were getting too high. Bring us back into the gutter. Just to smidge. Exactly. Remind us where we're at. Remind us who are. Remind us who we are.

Speaker: The automatic chapters on this podcast are already just insane, but this this this one's going to be crazy. that down is coming out the post like that for the first 30 minutes of the podcast like could you know that's going to be like the most replayed section the youtube bar where you scroll it should have a little spike michael i just i want i want the i want the ai chapter to just be yeah the group discusses childbirth it's gonna get so confused And I would not have it any other way. If I ever did a podcast that could be accurately summarized, you know, I think we'd be doing it wrong at that point.

Speaker: yeah exactly Speaking doing it wrong, Nick, do you want to... Yeah, we've spent... I was going say, we've spent 40 minutes talking. It's been 40 minutes. We haven't even gotten into the first. Just go ahead and do 1 through 6. We'll just do 1 through 6.

Speaker: We'll just knock it out. 1 through 6. Knock it Big gun people talk. blah bla I will do i will do one and who i will i will settle i hope you you must settle for one and two i will go no all right Alright, 19.1. Victoria fights Titan Skadi until reinforcements arrive for both sides.

Speaker: Gets to fight alongside Sarah and Crystal, empties her cannon's battery, and enters the shard space to help the patrol teams. and In 19.2, Victoria watches replays of the past and defends the patrol from the Nemean Titan and others.

Speaker: Bombs and Victoria's cannon strike at the heart of powers, weakening the Titans and altering the capes. on Yes.

Speaker: Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, the, ah the conversations between Sarah, Victoria and Crystal were a highlight. I don't remember anything specific, but I do remember just thinking nice. Like that, like that conversation was fun and interesting.

Speaker: Uh, good character moments there. um,

Speaker: Yeah, the old old New Wave crew getting to patrol again. Getting back together. We love that. The new the new New Wave? Yeah. Yeah, the new New Wave.

Speaker: I like it. New New. But it it's spelled like a brand, so it's like N-U, capital N-U. it's like New New Wave. With the umlaut over the ooh. With the umlaut. Yeah.

Speaker: and Exactly. New New Wave. Good for your face. good for your face? avana I is for your

Speaker: face? I'm going to say um that might be a spoiler in chat. Whoops. Uh-oh. oh I think so. Let's do tease in chat real quick.

Speaker: again I saw it. It's too late. We saw it. Thank you. alex look i would That's why you some of you aren't supposed to be looking at chat. That's Michael's job and that's my job. and the rest of all but I like to look at chat. I want you to look at chat, but you know.

Speaker: Sometimes when you look up pictures and profiles on the wiki, you know, you spoil stuff for yourselves. I did do that. It's true. I mean, listen. So maybe let certain people do that for you.

Speaker: I've done that as well. Listen, i I was just told that rule 34 had something to do with Contessa's powers. And so I looked up Contessa rule 34. She just knows how to do it. That's the crazy thing. Oh my God.

Speaker: Suddenly the golden path is a very different connotation. No! Oh,

Speaker: oh it's like man. It's a shame I don't have any notes on these two chapters to interrupt with. that really I don't. It's like the classic, you know that you know the difference between a garbanzo bean and a chickpea, right?

Speaker: Oh, goddammit, no. Wait, wait, say it again? I've always heard it about all this. know the difference between a garbanzo bean and a chickpea? A garbanzo bean and a chickpea? I haven't i haven't paid $100 have a garbanzo bean on my face.

Speaker: It's a classic. You gotta love it. mother thank There it is. Yeah. I'm surprised guys didn't that one before, Hannah. That's a good one. That's a classic. like Here's the thing. you said it, and i was like there's a dirty joke here. I just don't know what it is yet. And I'm... Listen, we'll get there eventually. And then as soon as you said it, I'm like... o Yeah.

Speaker: I sure know. Listen, my ever since Michael said he had to 18 plus that one episode, that's been my goal wow for every episode there. It's not been a goal. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Speaker: I'm about to leave, guys. I'm about to go sit on the chair in the corner. and just like Michael, you just say the word. I'll be on there, Helldivers, right with you. No! no um All right, but on a serious note... um It comes into play later with 19.3, but I did find it interesting that they strike at the heart of powers, and it does... like There's like a ripple effect where everybody suddenly feels it. Of like, whoa, yeah that touched all of us all at once. um

Speaker: Yeah. And the change in the powers is interesting. We'll get to that later. um i don't know. Yeah, i I'm trying to think. There really wasn't... i don't remember...

Speaker: Anything else? The only interesting thing is that is that Fortuna Contessa Titan kind of guy you get like dodges the blast or something. It disconnects from the source and then plugs back in unaffected. yeah Which is kind of neat that whatever the extension of Contessa's power is is strong enough to even turn like disconnect from its own power source.

Speaker: Yeah. That is cool. just saying that is that is cool But it was like the only thing that I thought kind of stood out here other than just the blast.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. but As Fran said, it's a Victoria and a gun chapter. and we Which is really cool. and your gun Yeah, I mean, not without saying, again, I do love i do love reading a Wadbo fight scene. it It always is fun to me.

Speaker: But... not much to really talk about. And as obligatory, you know, my thoughts on wild bow fight scenes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. As J man said, the Titan fights feel both too high stakes and somehow too low stakes at the same time, but it's hard to describe.

Speaker: No, you're absolutely right. Yeah. Nailed it. Yeah. There's a, there's a very good example of this. I think it's in 1905. Um, where there's a hero that is introduced and killed in the same chapter by a Titan. Yeah. Oh, the one that gets spun around like a red towel.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Where it's like, oh, cool. but Oh, she's dead. Like, in a weird way, it's like, it's like high stakes. People are dying. But also like, well, we can just introduce more expendable characters, I guess. I don't know. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, it is truly like weird to me that we haven't had more death. And I think that's what it is. is just i oh I was mentioning this to Alan, I think maybe last week or maybe two weeks ago. Maybe it was like right after or right before podcast last time. But this...

Speaker: With the ah Leviathan fight in Worm, that the armband constantly being like, this person's dead. This person's dead. This person's injured. This person's dead. And it in that toll, that death toll, brings the weight of the of the whole fight into perspective of like, holy shit, like this is a fucking problem.

Speaker: um And Leviathan is taking us all out so fast. And it's hard to like... Yeah. of it when we're not losing anybody that we know or care about except ah ah and a little bit later we lose one person that i was actually very sad about but the the the there's not that weight isn't quite there and it's like we're fighting but because everyone's fighting in shifts there's this feeling like ok well i'll do my fight for a couple of hours and then i'll like go take a shower and like have a cinnamon roll

Speaker: I guess. I don't know. And then we'll come back in a new shift. And it's like, no one we know has like really died. like the The worst thing that's happened is people have turned into titans, which doesn't feel like they've died because like even with Fumehood, she's sort of implied that she's awake in there somehow, I guess, even though none of the other ones have died.

Speaker: Like, it it it just, it doesn't, I totally agree. I totally agree about it. It feels so high stakes and we're like, oh my gosh, it's just so big and it's so scary. And oh my God, they just keep coming and like, oh no, what do we do? But then also like, we could take a break and like, oh, you need to tap out? Do need to go sit down for a second? Like with a Leviathan fight, it didn't feel like you could go and sit down for a second.

Speaker: like You yeah had to push and push and push until you were incapacitated and could not go in. A little halftime orange slice and a Capri Sun. Yeah, basically. yeah and Get back out there. yeah yeah A good attaboy.

Speaker: yeah yeah there you go To answer Fran's question, yes, the nuclear one. um but We'll get to that in 1905, I think. um Any other thoughts on one and two before we get to eggs interlude?

Speaker: Nope. Let's crack that egg. right Crack it. I'm going to let you crack that anyways. What was that? That's an omelet joke. No, it was the sound you or you made before you

Speaker: but they made the omelet joke. Clip it. Clip it for the soundboard, Michael. Poach that one, Michael. Oh, poach it. Oh, my God. Okay. All right. i'm just I'm just going to boil this arc down real quick, this chapter.

Speaker: There you go. i I feel like our podcast has been really scrambled tonight. There it is. yeah There it is. Yep. All right.

Speaker: You've done it. I have to sit over here now. I'm just going to leave. I'm going to leave. Look what you've done. Look what you've done. ah ah like youry You fried them. No! ah My God!

Speaker: How many other ways can you cook an egg? Michael, I i hate that you you feel like you have to run y'all off. ah Okay. All right. thank You just got to always look on the sunny side up. You know what i mean? You don't need any dad mugs, Nick. This is what we're trying to tell you. your own dad You're your own dad mug. I am a living walking dad mug. Okay. 19.8 interlude egg.

Speaker: Case 53s begin cooperating scientifically with the wardens. Weld and Zveta continue lying. An egg compares them to Cauldron. The body-snatching infiltrate the dream room. Which, okay, the summaries put this in nineteen a but I did not know that they infiltrated the dream room until later, so whatever. I don't think that's actually in there.

Speaker: it's They introduce the characters. Is it not? Yes. They introduce one of the characters. Yes. And then it is revealed They're going to do some shit.

Speaker: Oh, right. Nothing is revealed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. yeah That's bullshit. yeah, yeah. Nothing's revealed. It happens in A, but nothing's revealed yet. Okay, I will say, again, the interludes for me always hit. Like, I loved Egg's interlude.

Speaker: um Getting a bit more insight onto a person who's just really gotten the short end of the stick in terms of powers and body issues.

Speaker: um the I know i'm I'm not trying to take this podcast to an adult rating, but the the part where he talked about like having feelings for a girl and trying to express those feelings privately for a girl and like what that's like with his body, was just like,

Speaker: Oh, no. Oh, no. I'm i it's what a It's more so because, like, aren't they still kids, like teenagers? I assumed Egg was, like, a teenager.

Speaker: being i guess so, yeah. Isn't the girl um Black Forest? Doesn't she, like, doesn't doesn't he say she's, like, 14? Yeah. Yeah, that she she has its ah she taught like she was born older or aged up older, but and she thought she was, because of how you know they get changed, she thought she was like 16, but it turns out she was probably little younger.

Speaker: yeah yeah um But he's pretty young too, right? Like he's a teenager as well. Yeah. I think he's like 14 or 15 here, maybe. um so it's like age-appropriate weirdness at least in that regard. Yeah, like hormones. And if your body is like doing something that other bodies don't do and you're like, how the fuck would that even work? Because you've got all of these thoughts and feelings and you're you know, he's watching porn and you're trying to figure it out. And like, that it makes sense. It just made me uncomfortable. Oh, oh yeah yeah. Because he's got all that going on, which doesn't stop him from being a little shit either.

Speaker: Yeah. Right. um So like, that's also a whole uncomfortable thing into itself. But he... ah it reminded me that my one note that I have for this entire arc is, um made me think about how there is a lot of disabled people who have, i can't, I want to say my friend, a person I knew called it like fan and phantom Dick syndrome.

Speaker: Um, it's quadriplegic and he, and he basically just 24 hours a day, all the teenage boy mind of like always thinking about sex.

Speaker: um And apparently this is a common phenomena for a lot of ah paraplegic, quadriplegic people. And it really made me think about, you know, the egg with that as well. Where like, I feel like it's more than just...

Speaker: um him having hormones and being horny, I think it is also possibly this, you know, ah because he can't engage with it, it becomes all that more obsessive about it.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. i mean, it's kind of like when we talked previously about Sveta and Weld, how yeah for Weld, you know, he he probably has the desire, and it is a part of their relationship, but It's like, how do they enact that in a way that works for both of them?

Speaker: And, yeah you know, it it's that, you know, it's it's a difficult thing. And I imagine that is also the case with probably, you know, people, and and I don't know, so I'm not trying to speak for anybody, but probably people who suffer from different disabilities and, you know, trying to have those kinds of relationships, what that's like.

Speaker: um And I think, too, in a way, it also is very fitting that um this is the arc where case 53 is are finally in a way being willing to cooperate with the wardens to be studied in a scientific manner in that awkwardness that we get from the scientists, which I love of like, it's like, I was told that maybe I look like somebody who you have a ah bad time with. And I don't want that to interfere with the studies we're trying to do, you know, like, which is fitting because like, as opposed to,

Speaker: it's It's sort of like how I imagine. And again, this is all in my imagination, not that I've experienced this, but how I imagine, like, Cauldron was like old American studies on disabled people where they weren't really willing participants. And we learned things about them, but maybe not correct things because of these circumstances.

Speaker: And now I imagine like the first trial of like, Hey, we want to study your disabled child or a spouse or brother. Don't worry. It's not going to be like the other ones. You know, like that's I feel like where we are in this chapter in a way.

Speaker: um And so i it's some interesting parallels there where I wonder if I'd be curious to hear from people who do struggle with disabilities or who have disabilities, um who've read things like this, if if they feel more seen by it, if they feel less seen by it. I'm just not something I'd really considered before as an angle for literature um in a way of reading it.

Speaker: So, yeah, and don't know. yeah It's one thing I really like about the Case 53s is that there's putting... like I think... like Bring this back to Egg. like I think Egg is really annoying like as a person, ah his like thought process. But also...

Speaker: the like The way that he thinks about Sveta and Weld as like traitorous and this feeling of like, well, you got what you wanted. Like, Sveta, you got a body, and yet you keep your tattoo on your cheek, the cauldron tattoo. and i Yeah, I think it's really interesting. i like I like that we got this perspective from him. And like his anger feels so valid, especially like looking back at how so much of Cauldron was kept just like secret from everybody and there was so much people didn't know and even now this this thought of like like many of the you know regular non-parahuman people still don't know all the details of like Goldmourning and what happened there and a lot of them probably don't even know about Cauldron at all because it's like well you you didn't need to know that so we're gonna make this decision that you don't need to know and we're gonna spare your

Speaker: what mental health for this and it's like in that same way like so many things were chosen for the case 53s and i've been very annoyed at um some of sveta's um like reactions to stuff like her reaction to um when we were when we were back in the old cauldron base but it was teacher had taken over it And she got so angry about Contessa's, you know, her three options. And she's like, well, we're you're not we're not really getting a choice here because, like, you're choosing for us anyways. and And, like, do we get a choice? And if we're choosing, are we just choosing the path that you want us to choose because of the way that you framed it? And this idea of, like, you don't get to have all the information or you do, but it's it's fed to you in a certain way. And then

Speaker: Again, you know, with Black Forces, like, he's lying. He's lying. He's not telling the truth. Like, they're lying again. and an Egg just being so angry and vengeful, revengeful, of just, like, you've lied to us over and over and over again. You've kept stuff from us. You've decided what we can and cannot know.

Speaker: and I'm fucking sick of it. And so i I don't know. ah Yeah, no. I really, really enjoyed this interlude a lot. I mean, I loved all the interludes, but I really liked this one. Yeah. Also, it's because it it was another good interlude where like you can tell immediately how different this person thinks from other people.

Speaker: Yeah. feel like I feel like we've had a lot of those recently that are not as different. as different as like the worm ones were where like the perspective is, um, yeah you know, different enough that you could almost identify the person before they ever say the name kind of, right. Just from how they think, not even um,

Speaker: um and But he keeps such a, he's such a score counter where he's like, yeah the amount of betrayals in this room, like everybody here has betrayed me. Like, yeah, ah it's just bro. Like, even if you could beat off, you would just be angry the whole time you did it. Like, just, I can't believe, you know, they didn't, they didn't compliment me when I, when I said, you know,

Speaker: that I did something really cool. Like he's just such an angry little bastard. Yeah. Yeah. Truett had a good comment in chat said as a disabled person, I find egg appealing because his body becomes injured easily as someone who has a body part that is easily injured.

Speaker: His anger at people for both babying him and not is very real. Oh yeah. Oh man. That, that is a, that is a good point. I appreciate that. True. Thank you for sharing. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. it's I like have chat pulled up. Yeah. They're pretty great. It's yeah. I was gonna say this is one those things where like there's so many things about him that are like I can't stand egg but also a lot of it makes sense. So right.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: And that's life.

Speaker: It's you know egg representation of my bank account. About how I'm always pissed that it's so fragile and on the edge of cracking and just bleeding everywhere at any any given moment.

Speaker: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. oh right if If you say so. you say sir um Let's also not skip over his weird as hell power.

Speaker: ah portals. but yeah is he's He is an egg. His name is very literal. He can birth things.

Speaker: Yeah, he's got four creatures that we see. Yeah. He mentions the names, but they are yeah huge. Yeah. Yeah. He's like weigh huge.

Speaker: The bird that comes out is like what four times as big as he is. And it's the smallest of the creatures. Yeah. Crazy. That is crazy. power Very cool power.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, very cool. Very, very cool. Yeah, and Truett, his anger towards Sveta for getting, ah you know, what she wants is understandable because, like, we should want people to get recovery, or it's not really understandable. Yeah, this is one of those, like, jealousy things for just anything where people, like, if something good happens to somebody and it's not at your expense, you should be happy for them.

Speaker: you know, the, the whole non-zero sum game and all that. But, you know, instead, if you see, if you're so embittered and you see something good happen to somebody or somebody does something good, that you have to be pissy that like, well, and they don't deserve that. I deserve that. And it's like,

Speaker: well, you know, that's that's not how this works, you know. Yeah. Life isn't fair and also... The jealousy makes a lot of sense, though, because, like, because he he even says, egg eggs like, he he makes it like a snide comment about her body, basically. if she got it She got a body. But inside, he's he's burning up with the jealousy. And, like, i think that that... I think that...

Speaker: Again, this this ties back into this thought that I have about that no no emotions are bad. you just like You are in charge of you. You get to decide what you're going to do with the things that you feel. And like it's okay to feel angry and like jealous in this moment. like She got what she wanted. Why didn't I get what I... like Why can't I have that time?

Speaker: Like, if you're going to lash out in a way that's going to hurt Sveta because she was able to get what she's wanted and dreamed about, like, and and and hold that against her, like, that's totally unfair. Like, if you're, just like, the jealousy makes a lot of sense, but, like, I think the sign of a person who's self-aware is someone who can recognize that like, yeah, i'm I'm really jealous and that sucks, but I'm really happy for you that you were able to get the body that you wanted. And I hope that I can get that for myself one day. Like that's, I think that that's a sign of someone who's like self-aware and aware of the people around them and who has, don't know, a caring heart. Like that you care about other people it's not just about you and that you didn't get the thing that they got that you also desperately wanted. Like,

Speaker: And I'm sure Case 53 also probably felt the exact same way. Like, why does Sveta get to have the body that she wants? And meanwhile, Chantilly over here, insides are showing.

Speaker: Yeah, there is a... um Yeah, I was actually wondering if Wildbo yeah talked about this. And I'm looking for the comment. So I know i have some connections with with deaf community, hard of hearing community, or hearing impaired, which I believe Wildbo was...

Speaker: is affiliated with as well. And specifically with the deaf community. um Obviously, it doesn't speak for everybody or anything like that. I know where this is there are There are like divisions of of hearing impaired people that like believe that if you have a condition that can be fixed with like cochlear implants or other or surgeries or things like that, that you are, you don't get to still claim membership of the deaf community. That's an extreme view of it.

Speaker: And obviously it's not everybody, but those conversations do happen, which is interesting. And I wonder if there's some, uh, some of that, that while those sort of writing into this as well, where you have real world experiences. Yeah. The case 53 kind of being a little bit like, well, Sveta, I mean, you, you fixed your issue. So,

Speaker: are you rich You're not really one of us anymore. We have the scale here too. We have Shamrock. We have Shamrock on one side who has been clearly on a table you know being experimented on at some point in time.

Speaker: um She's talked about that. But for all intents and purposes is human but has the tattoo. So like she's not like to everybody, she's not really a case 53, but, and, and she doesn't even have the loss of memories, but she was abducted. She was experimented on like she has a lot, you know, some of the things. So like you have her on this end and then you have like egg on this end, who has like no memories.

Speaker: Body is like the worst power in the world, you know, just sucks to kind of be alive sometimes. And like, that's your scale.

Speaker: um But, you know, people keep drawing lines of like, no, this is where only these people get to count as 53s. You know, does neuter get to count as a 53? Because, you know, he seems to be having a good time and that apparently is the cutoff point for egg.

Speaker: yeah Like if they're happy, they're not. although fifty three s Although on the other hand, his, the, his hero is Gregor, the snail who also seems to have accepted himself and also has, uh, it is married. I believe to Shamrock, harry with air all yeah which probably does not help because you have those whole, like, I can't believe that, you know, he he would get, but that she, and and she's never going to blame Gregor for that. It's to be like, I can't believe that she would do that to him yeah to take him away from our community. That's weird to me. The gatekeeping in that is so weird to me. But like, because you don't fit my classification of what a Case 53 is, therefore you don't get to be part of the club. Like, what what do you mean? Like, what? Because I'm not as miserable as you are, Egg? Like, geez. Or whole not even as miserable, just more of like,

Speaker: Miserable unto yourself, like, and you hold such grudges against people. Like, geez, Louise. Yeah, we could even go more into, like Jacob was mentioning, and it's a lot of old deaf versus new deaf because you have all these people that grew up where there was no cochlear implants and whatnot.

Speaker: And they see people who, you know, have hearing problems and get the cochlear implants that, like, they see that as erasure of their culture.

Speaker: Like, oh my gosh, you're... I mean, I've seen language as dumb as, like, you're doing a genocide on deaf people by curing deafness. Jesus. Yeah, because they're like, oh my god. like like and And that is the language they will use. and it's big And it really comes down to, like, okay, so we didn't have cochlear implants when you were a kid.

Speaker: Like, that doesn't mean, like, we're still gonna have hearing problems all the way, like... ASL is still going to be a thing. You don't have to worry about that. Would it be nice if ASL didn't have to exist because all hearing problems, you know, were cured? The correct answer is yeah.

Speaker: Like, We don't call it a, you know, a, you know, a pair ability. It's a disability. Like you can't hear the world. Like you're missing out on an, an experience that you could be.

Speaker: We have our own disabled person, Nick. Nick can't see any color, you know, he he goes to movies and it's just like watching black and white, which is fine, you know, but as you know he can't see how cool Hannah's hair is.

Speaker: ah Like, um but yeah. And, and, That's just a whole other thing. To put a bow on it, I think unprocessed pain leads to all kinds of unhealthy behaviors.

Speaker: That's pretty much what we're dealing with, right? Michael's only summing it up so fucking well. Yeah. Nick, I'm so sorry for your... Hey, you know. Before any sense thoughts and prayers.

Speaker: Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And he's bald. One like... Oh my God. It just never stops for some people, you know? Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: I have to suffer so everyone else should suffer also. um yeah that I think that's Nick's philosophy, honestly. Okay.

Speaker: makes so It's true. it's it's why i It's why I impose my my dad humor upon you. So that way you can... The terrible thoughts that I am cursed with for being a father, I get to share with you.

Speaker: Makes a lot of sense. Makes a lot of sense. We love that. On that trap, come here with me. Yep. Exactly. Anyways. Um...

Speaker: he was um Jeff Olu left? Yeah, that always find before, one thing. We're talking about something that is mentioned later. We do have, at this point, the... um I forget what the doll character's name is. Shows up and they're like, excuse me, you're not a Case 53. And they're like, I was undercover.

Speaker: um And then, while they're getting checked in, just splits open. Yeah. yeah That was crazy. and Absolutely. who Is that Matryoshka?

Speaker: No, no. it's um no Matryoshka is the other one. I can't remember the name of the the living doll thing that like stitches them up from the inside. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And can like possess people's bodies.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. No, I do appreciate, though, the conversation in chat, too, about about this. I think, obviously, yeah know we're just a goofy podcast about Ward. um Yeah.

Speaker: But it is... i like to touch on real real things every once in a while. um ah Yeah, so X-Men 3. Yeah. For real. yeah ah Yeah, yeah. That's the classic the classic joke. i don't remember, Jacob, maybe you remember how it goes. Yeah.

Speaker: I'm trying to think of it. I know exactly what you're thinking of. You're saying there's a cure for us, says Joe Chainsaw Hands. Yeah. like What do you mean cure? We don't need a cure, says Beautiful Goddess Who Everybody Loves.

Speaker: yes Yeah. yeah It's also the whole, like, you write super, you I think it's fantasy in general, or maybe it's just superheroes, but you write fantasy for long enough and eventually you have to throw in racism somewhere.

Speaker: It's like like, eventually you have to get the allegory. going oh my god yeah yep yeah well 19.3 it's homophobia prejudice true yeah yeah yeah i did three 19 three and 19 four we'll do them together nineteen three and nineteen four we'll we'll do them together i think I think we've rambled enough that we need to move them on. 19.3. Victoria and others figure out their new powers. Flashback to Amy's healing pre-Birdcage.

Speaker: Breakthrough meets with the Case 53s and prepare to face Titan Fortuna. 19.4. tries to figure out the common thread to the change in powers as capes fortify ahead of the Titans.

Speaker: Fortuna, Ophion, and Nymion arrive. Vicky and Sveta talk to Chris, and the cracks spread again.

Speaker: so we get a power shift, which is interesting. this is This is, a again, like as an idea, fascinating to me, where like now Victoria's force field is smaller and more condensed, and we get more details in the future where it's like, literally it's just been condensed. It still has all the same parts, but kind of just...

Speaker: sucked it down. um You know, Tristan's power is a lot more aggressive but more fragile. And that seems to be the case with a lot of powers where the emphasis is on the aggression and not the long-lasting or the sturdiness of them, but on the pure power. I think Crystal mentions, like, yeah my accuracy is reduced and I can't hit from as far away, but I feel like it's hitting harder than it was before.

Speaker: Right. yeah Yeah. You know. So... That part's fascinating. ah the The little flashback with Amy was also horribly creepy. Oh, yeah. show that That was fucking horrifying.

Speaker: That was a jump scare I wasn't ready for. no Nope. That was... Not a big fan of that. yeah um ah not a big fan of that No, not at all. um I just saw on Reddit, there was a little, um and there there was like a little comic and it was actually like, it was very cute.

Speaker: And I realized immediately that it was Amy and Victoria, but it's like Amy building a little snowman. And she's like sad because it's not quite right. She's like, oh, I want it to be. And then Victoria's like, oh, come on, let's go sledding. and then And then it's like them sledding together. And she's like, but I'm scared. She's like, no, I'm here with you. I'll always be here with you. And then like the last panel is of a two-headed snowman. and And then in the comments of the of the of the comic, there was like a whole thing of like spoilers blocked off. And I couldn't read it. And I was like, I'm not about to because it was like word spoilers. was like, okay. And then to read this and to help her the whole thing with her with two heads, that's why she's having trouble breathing and talking. And I was like, oh, found it.

Speaker: Found it. Found it. That's horrifying. I i' unwell. And but yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: Bucky wucky.

Speaker: Sheesh.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. ah Not. Once again, proving that a forehead kiss is not as sweet as you think it is. It's actually a little creepy.

Speaker: Especially when it's coming from Amy. Yeesh. Especially. Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, that's right. Yeah. yeah No, um she got to die. She got to die. Oh, she has to die. Oh, 100. If she's not dead by the end of this story. That's gotta be her killing. She has to kill her.

Speaker: and It's the ambiguous epilogue where like, Amy, i say one goddamn word and I'll kill you. but like yeah That just ends the chapter right there. She's walking back. So i had the talk with Amy go, I think it pretty went pretty well.

Speaker: and so yeah yeah We just don't ever say anything about it ever again. Oh my God. Yeah, the active brain dampering in first person was so unsettling, says J-Man. And I could not agree more. Absolutely horrifying.

Speaker: And just her her thoughts of like, okay, we need to throw her against the wall. Okay, we're going to do it. Okay, we're going to do it now. Okay, we're going to do it now. Like, oh.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah it it felt very... i have I have briefly experienced a couple of instances of sleep paralysis in my lifetime, um which is where your brain wakes up, but you can't move your body yet.

Speaker: um And I can only imagine it's a similar feeling to that, although much worse, what Victoria went through. like it. Yeah. No bueno. No bueno.

Speaker: None for me. no i'm good but I'm good with water for now. Thank you. Stick to water. oh Yeah, that's true. It's just, it's just awful. And like, and and just Amy being like the, oh, I just hate, I hate the way Amy talks to her is so unsettling. And so yeah of the like, no, you don't like silly. No, you don't.

Speaker: You don't want to like, no, I guess I don't. She's like, see, I knew you didn't want to leave. And you're like, Yeah. yeah free Fran said Wildbo got tired about the essay debates and made it as explicit as possible. Yeah. Made it explicit. Oh, my God. I was going to not even, because like even i who will sometimes like just be like, oh, that's gross, finally said, just flat out, somebody was like, can i I'm having a hard time reading Between the Lions, didn't

Speaker: was this just straight up sexual assault? Yes or no? Like, can we not dance around like the imagery and just tell me somebody say that? And finally, Wild Bo was like, it was, it was, it was, it was.

Speaker: And i was like, thank you. That's all I needed to hear. Yeah.

Speaker: I mean, ah not to, I don't want to talk about sexual, so I don't want to talk about sexual assault, but ah the the the whole feeling of like, in when hello yeah we're Actually, no, I'm not going to. We don't need to. Just obligatory fuck Amy and move on.

Speaker: but Yeah, absolutely. I did also really like the conversations between Victoria and Sveta with Chris at Labret. um Just in the sense of like Chris still being an absolute asshole but dick what is his deal oh my god pieces of shit he wants to be so he wants to be at the end of the world long enough to be like i told you guys that's his whole goal in life just yeah yeah yeah what the other is you know some some men will burn the whole world just to sit on the ashes

Speaker: I think it's Peter Baelish. you know Talking about Peter Baelish in that one. then and Watch the world burn. In this case, it's Krish would watch the world burn just so he could say, I told you so.

Speaker: Yeah, I do love and yeah yeah yeah i do love i The one moment that really got me was like the clarification where they almost got like, i think I feel like they're about to kill him. Where Chris was like, I could have made you a body sweater.

Speaker: Oh, my God. me Oh, my god And they're like, what the heck, Chris? And he's like, I could now. I couldn't before. i he's like, yeah just to clarify, I'm basically saying I'm better than Mr. Bo now.

Speaker: You did the best with what you had at the time. It's like, why even bring it up then? Yeah, no, what a little joke. Like, honestly, like, Jesus. yeah I think the thing that that drives me crazy is that, like, with some people, like, with with with bullies, with with assholes, like, you you know that there's they're protecting a part of themselves. Sometimes it has to do with vulnerability. Like, with Egg, like, we can see his bullshittery and his stupidity, and it's like, well...

Speaker: With everything he's fucking gone through, it makes a lot of sense. And like his reactions, they feel valid, even if I think he's a little shit.

Speaker: They're valid. And like, I, okay, fine. With Chris, I don't, I don't know what is in his head. Like he's such a dick about it. Like he's just so happy to be like, yeah. Like, what does this get you? What does this get you?

Speaker: well You know what though? I i do love- people hating you? Is that what you want? You want people hate you. Because that's the only thing I can think of now. Is that he is just so desperate to be like, I'm going to prove myself right and all of you wrong by continually over and over and over again making you all hate me. And then when you all hate me and you try and kill me, I'm going to go, see?

Speaker: I knew it all along. You hated me the whole time. It's like, fuck you. yeah You did this. You dug the goddamn hole yourself.

Speaker: I will say though he makes me crazy he does but i am very much here for anti-redemption arc where it's like you know there's that part of you that's like Chris is like maybe maybe there's still some good in him like you know maybe he'll he'll turn it around and he'll do something nice for no reason and it's like no no every time every time he proves me wrong and you know I'm kind of here for that it's sometimes he's like thing about like just need your pathetic losers to to be pathetic and lose.

Speaker: And that's what I want for Chris. so And that's what i we want for Chris and Amy. Yeah. and And what I love, what I love, though, is like his whole thing is he just wants to be here long enough so he can learn how to make a form that can survive space so he can fly away to space. and like What an idiot. That's his whole thing. Maybe I like, what if his shard is just like the one with the litter?

Speaker: And is just trying desperately to escape the rest of the shards. like you all the shards are Because they say that. they like you can't you can't leave sp like You can't go to space. You can't leave because the shards will keep you on Earth.

Speaker: So like his shard is just broken. And is just wanting to wanting to leave. And is actually like, no no man, get out of here. I don't want any part of this. but Or it's just, it's the the shard whose only impetus is to, like, move on to the next spot combined with the, the like, Tinker shard. So it's like, it's just like, i just want to go. i just, I don't know why. i just got to get to space. just got to leave. We got to keep moving.

Speaker: That's funny. Well, on to the interludes. Yeah. Yes, Gilpatrick. Let's go. These these were a highlight for me. I'm going to throw them together, though, since it is both Gilpatrick. 19B interlude Gilpatrick.

Speaker: Gilpatrick investigates Rain's house, and Rain tries to brief the people entering his dream space. The group sees Love Lost's vision, adapts to the new environment, shoot at her monster, and trigger after an emotion attack.

Speaker: 19.C. Interludes Gilpatrick Part 2. Flashback to Gilpatrick and Lucky Break. The Dreamscape a group loses people fighting past the love lost monster. They learn firsthand how to navigate.

Speaker: Rain modifies the network, talks down the Case 53 infiltrators, and sends a message. God, so much happens. Really quick, i remind me again, how long is Rain out for?

Speaker: Because it felt like maybe 20 minutes max. Right, again. No, he's out for a few hours because he's like, it's yeah every time he sleeps, right? So it's like, yeah. Yeah. I'm guessing like minimum five to six hours.

Speaker: Maybe longer. Yeah, I need to. You know, we'd like to think eight hours for a good, healthy sleep. You'd like to think that. yeah Yeah, are these the longest, like, by time that at like ah transpires during the arc, are these the longest? It's 45 minutes.

Speaker: Can he go to regular sleep after that? Or is that 45 minutes and he's like, he's good for the day? I guess so so. The cluster meetings in the dream room lasted last roughly 35 to 40 minutes per night.

Speaker: So he sleeps for a normal amount of time each night, but his sleep is interrupted by multi-trigger dream room visions that can last that are that last a little under 45 minutes. isn't that Don't they have to live through the whole trigger event, though?

Speaker: I mean, okay, but let's be honest, though. like I have had a 15. I have like woken up, turned off my alarm, gone back to sleep, rolled over, and had dream had a dream that lasted for six years of my life, and then woken up 15 minutes after my alarm when I'm snoozing it. So, like I mean, dream space.

Speaker: Yeah, that's fair. yeah Wild. Wild. Well, never mind. That interrupts my theory. Never mind. These are still short chapters. I'm sorry. I didn't mean interrupt. No, no, you shut you you shone a light on my flaws. Okay.

Speaker: What? No. What? Let's talk about Gilpatrick. Chat clip that. Gilpatrick. Another Jacob sound.

Speaker: just added to the list.

Speaker: Some of best sounds that we have in the soundboard are 100% just Jacob. I just love clipping sad Jacob clips. They're so funny. They're so funny.

Speaker: my god. oh ah Yeah, that's what we all want. yeah, that's what we all want. i would That's one of my favorites. I love them. good one my god Classic.

Speaker: um That's what we all want. Me and my memes. so it's you know sound here patrick hey I was going to say our soundboard is half me and Hannah making unintelligible noises in Jacob being sad. That is it's exactly what it is. yeah Oh my God. Wait, okay. If I play a sound, okay, wait, listen, if I play a sound right now, will it, will it go through to the, to the stream? Very careful on which ones you press. yeah i Don't worry. Don't worry. Don't worry.

Speaker: um I'll do... i'll do um

Speaker: yeah yeah i like that one. No! No, I don't. I do not like. no, no, no. no no no but good one no yeah i'm I'm done now. Sorry.

Speaker: classic they're just too fun yeah oh man Yeah, anyways. ah Neil Patrick. What a Chad. Love him. Yes! Oh my god! Absolutely. So great.

Speaker: Yep, yep, yep. So, okay, so this group, these are people who have Corona Polentas, which means they have potential for powers, but have not triggered, right? That's the idea.

Speaker: And so they suspect, okay, you guys are normies who perhaps can enter into the dream space too. Yeah. um Which is really interesting that they can, and I guess apparently maybe trigger and now have powers. Well, haven't really figured that out yet. Yeah, sure. Yeah.

Speaker: Not quite sure. I'm excited too. But... I've been to that a bit more. Yeah. Gilpatrick, ah yeah you can just, as Fran said, you can just skip having a trigger if you join Rain's Trauma Mall.

Speaker: Come on down to Rain's Trauma Mall today. god. You even ride a trigger. I do love that later later in 19c, Brain is like, I disconnected them from us. like we don't They don't need to be experiencing this every night. like let's it yeah The three of us suffer.

Speaker: Also, interesting, we hear um that Cradle is technically alive still, but just isn't. ah but He's just brain severely brain damaged.

Speaker: yeah so that If you die in the Matrix, you die in real life. Yeah, exactly. wa He's a turnip. Yeah, wacky. A veggie. Yeah. yeah I would say poor guy, but I really don't feel bad for him. Yeah, I don't feel bad in the slightest for him at all. Not even a little bit. yeah you know um Yeah, love lost visions as always are just tragic um tragedy after tragedy. and She is, I feel like every time we learn more about her, she becomes more and more that trope of like, I'm just one day away from retirement and then I can hang out with my daughter and be happy. It's yeah so bad.

Speaker: Yeah, Liam. Just got one last case and then I'm done. Yeah. yeah i found I did find the ah her her little dream moment here very interesting, that Gil Patrick is noting that like the mouth movements on her and her daughter don't match up what he's hearing.

Speaker: And more of like less of what was actually said in that conversation and more of the tone of like how they were each feeling at the time and like what was the undercurrent of what's going on. And then that, of course, was...

Speaker: Yeah, well, and I think it's Love Lost editorializing it, right? Like she's commenting on it now. Yes, think so too. This is what I wish I'd done. Yes, yeah. Which is really interesting. Yeah, and like her interpretation too of her daughter, like screaming and the walls rattling and her being like, well, we don't want to, you know, bother the neighbors and her daughter being like, you're not fucking hearing me. She doesn't say the F word, but like, you're not hearing me.

Speaker: i don't want you to do this. And it's like, oh man. Yeah, no, it hurts. It it doesn't get better. It hurts every single time. Like, geez Louise.

Speaker: Oh, and her so desperately not wanting to have to be in the room again. She's like, take me out too. And Rain's like, I think we're too connected. Like, I'm sorry. Like, I can't disconnect you from this. And she's like, we'll try. And he's like, I i can't like, that's not, I don't think it's something we can fix that. Oh, that's heartbreaking all over again. Good golly. Oh,

Speaker: yeah. It's rough. Can we, the picture. In Rain's cousin's bedroom in the house. Yeah. Can someone explain to me? Because I feel like I missed something there.

Speaker: So she has a picture of what could be a corpse, but is not dead, potentially. Maybe. It's beat up. It looks like a beat up boy. It's not Rain, which is my first assumption, but is a boy who is severely beat up with a swollen face. And she has a framed picture of it on her desk.

Speaker: It is which i assumed from later on that this is something that they potentially, like, maybe she was fooling around, maybe she was just out with this boy. Her dad beat him up and took a picture to remind her of her shame.

Speaker: And she potentially, out of spite, framed it so that they would have to also see that she has it there all the time. Yeah. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: I just wasn't sure if there was more to it than that than just that. Because rain kind of does. It feels like there is. I just wasn't sure if it was one of those things where I was missing or. Yeah.

Speaker: Do you know it you know what it reminds me of or what it reminded me of um is there's that old, I think it was a Reddit post where somebody talked about how like they were with their family. They had their kids, like they'd been married for 10 years and then they look at the lamp and the lamp looks weird.

Speaker: And they realize the whole thing's been a dream for like the past 10 years. Oh my God. And, and like, it, it felt weirdly like that where like Gil Patrick is noticing things. And that's part of what I like about his perspective is that he notices things and then doesn't let them go. Cause he's like one weird thing.

Speaker: I'll keep it in mind, but I'm not going to let it bother me. The more weird things, the more it makes me think something weird is happening. And that's that's what I liked about his character and his perspective. is like He kept noticing things and like picking up on things that maybe we didn't.

Speaker: Yeah, it it feels like maybe a false Chekhov's gun where it's like they're putting it there to give you the idea of like, oh, Gilpatrick notices things that are out of place that other people don't. But it's not something that's going to pay off later, probably. Unfortunately, you know, like name tags that are incorrect.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Right, right, right. That paid off later. And I think that's maybe the setup is like Gilpatrick notices things. He's like, wait, why are their name tags wrong? Wait, why is this? And he doesn't quite get it in time for them to not do their thing. But that is who he is. um Yeah, I do love.

Speaker: i do love how many of them do see themselves with guns in the in the room. Yeah. It's great. They're all just like, like, even for him, he's like, my gun is a natural part of me. And so he's like, he immediately goes to grab it in the dream room and it's there. And it's like, oh yeah, nice. ah that's a leave Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this group of people isn't just randos. It's a lot of,

Speaker: right like people like Gilpatrick that are black patrol block people that he trusts. Which would also slightly make sense why they might have enhanced Corona Palentias because they do operate around powers a lot.

Speaker: you Yeah. yeah um Except for... ah what's his face who's a sympathizer with the anti-parahuman group yeah who pops in in a in casual business attire and no gun Yeah. That was a little satisfying. I'm not going to lie. And then the the person who's like... Yeah, that was so interesting, right? The person who was biracial and was literally like... It was like strips of different skin tones.

Speaker: That was fucking cool. Like a little bit of different... Like that's kind of a cool visual image of like literally feeling that split between your two different sides. um It makes me super curious about when the one who's a kid.

Speaker: yeah but Yeah, well, I mean... yeah That ends up making sense. But like, yeah the it makes me think a lot about like what, you know, if you get dropped in, like, what do you look like in there?

Speaker: And like, I was kind of thinking about this with myself. Like, I change my hair color pretty regularly. ah i have some colors I come back to, but like, My natural hair color is obviously not pink and green. So like, would I pop in with the hair color I have or would I pop in with the hair color I've had the most often? Or would my hair be, you know, brownish reddish, which is what it naturally is? Like what?

Speaker: i don't know. I think that would be that would be really fun. I'd love to kind of know what I'd pop in as this is kind of a fun fun thought experiment. Yeah.

Speaker: Like one person just shows up with body armor and an assault rifle, I believe. Yeah. I haven't showered in weeks. i've been sleeping in this sorry i haven't showered in weeks Because you know that's like like, there are certain characters in fiction who would be that, right? Like if you drop Bruce Wayne into the dream room, he will be Batman. Yeah, he'll be Batman.

Speaker: If you drop Master Chief without the armor suit into the dream room, he will come in with the armor suit. you know like yeah There are characters who are like, it's so much of their identity, more so even than their regular civilian personality. It's like, yeah, it makes sense.

Speaker: Yeah. um Which, you know, when we get to that flashback with Gilpatrick, um we do see that that is a sticking point in his life, right? Where he's like, this is such a part of my identity.

Speaker: I haven't met a partner who... can fully understand it and and accept it and like accept the risk that comes with the job that I want to have. Cause it's, it's funny, like in his thinking, he's never like, maybe I should reconsider my career for the sake of this person. I like, he's like, maybe I should reconsider my relationships for the sake of my career that I love. Yeah. You know, and that's valid. If that's how he wants to live. Totally valid. I think that's a funny thing. I think that's important. And like, I,

Speaker: people who know what they want, I think that they're going to have, like, not, they're going they're not going to have it easier in life, but, like, when you know what you value and you know what you want, then, like, it's a lot easier to find people who can align with that, who, like, I mean, I mean, i think about it with, like, if you want to have kids versus if you don't want to have kids. Like, if you know, like, i don't want to have kids. That's not something that I want. And, like, finding a partner who's also, like, yeah, no, I i also don't want kids. Like,

Speaker: but It's easier when you know what you want as opposed to like, don't know, and you're you're cool, whatever. like i don't know. I feel like the fact that he knows that he loves this job, that he's excited about what he does, he finds so much purpose in it.

Speaker: And it's also a really fucking hard job. And it's not for it's not easy for him and it's not easy for the people in his life that he values that are... you know, going to be in a long-term committed relationship with him. And it's like, okay, well, in the end, this job is more important to me.

Speaker: And this, like, it sucks, but this is something that I really, really want and value. And I think that's cool. I like Gilpatrick. He just needs to to find himself a, you know, a boss bitch who's like totally in it for the love of the game.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely. As Truett pointed out, and i thought I thought this was the case, but I i didn't want to speak earlier because I wasn't sure. um The ones that looked weird in the room, specifically, that was still a child and had the stripes were the Case Yes, they were. Obviously, they were like, oh, like, you know, the child, they were playing it off, but that is what they think of them theyre they what they would look like.

Speaker: um for the doll 53 and the right other one's Matryoshka which is why because she unwrapples she's trying to hide it so I'm like oh I guess I have resolved biracial issues like right right right right okay but that's actually cool dang it it is still cool though I forgot that that was Matryoshka or Matryoshka Matryoshka or Matryoshka I honestly can't remember It's like the prince's got a Y in it. It's got a Y in there.

Speaker: Matryoshka. I mean, it's a real word. I used to say mononoke. Matryoshka. Matryoshka. No. is Is what Google says. That's what i was saying. because I messed it up. used say mononoke.

Speaker: Yes. you when a no man shit it do do do one and and and night it's like whi know It's like when you have but you only have one, so you have a a oh no okay and hang okay yeah i That's rough. That was so bad. That was real dumb. Alan, allen allen that's what i say bur That's what I say at Starbucks when I want my chocolate coffee. I've got my Mono Moque.

Speaker: ah Yeah. i But me, when I'm solo, you know I'm solo going through you know blue version, I'm Mono Poke. There you go. Or to bring it to bring it back to an earlier conversation, when I just want a small person, I have a mono-yoke.

Speaker: Oh my gosh, that's true. But you know, we should probably stick with one joke at a time. That way we do a mono-yoke. yeah Save me. Someone, please. Trash.

Speaker: meanwhile after the podcast making his like video for all the people like i just want to let y'all know that that shit was not my fault exactly thank you we're trash i'm gonna say their name and i'm gonna call them trash so that they know that they're trash at the verge of tears yeah Constantly on the edge of tears. It's not a it's not a when did Hannah cry, it's a when did Michael cry, and the answer is always. At the end of every podcast.

Speaker: yeah Just a single tear. he knows that he's about to have to censor this whole goddamn thing. ah Just the mono sobe.

Speaker: yeah Sobe. God. Oh. It's hard in heaven. Okay, back to Gilpatrick and the unfortunate times with them the the the Love Lost Monster. oh man.

Speaker: Yeah, Love Lost Monster is interesting. I do like that we get to see more than just cradles, which is fun. yeah i think that really Yeah, cool cool creature. I think, doesn't Gilpatrick in Point Beal, or one of them says it, I think it's him, it's something like, you know, ah you each have one of these? Inside of you? Yeah. There's one other? Inside of you, there their two wolves. I lied. It's not wolves, it's a fourth dimensional monster.

Speaker: so Yeah. now boy yeah everything I'll tell you what, Gilpatrick's, it's Gilpatrick's interlude, but but Rain is the MVP.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I'm so clutch. yeah rain Rain is like the like in his future, assuming all the characters survive and the Batman crybaby ending that I've envisioned does not come true.

Speaker: They will. Right. um But assuming that, right, I see i see Rain being like Oh man, you know those, like I've heard a couple interviews with them, but they're like these super badass counselors who are like, yeah, i used to be a Nazi and now I help counsel men to not be Nazis.

Speaker: it's like And you're like, yeah yeah hell yeah, brother. but Yeah. yeah yeah you know like yeah Like that's, I feel like that's what rain is. And with the scene with the two case 53 is like, he talks them down so well.

Speaker: Yeah. like He really does. All right. Like you want to talk about character growth, character arc. like rain Rain has like hit a stride here. I'm like, what a Chad. What a guy. For real He runs a school for atletescapes.

Speaker: Exactly, yeah. like That's exactly his thing. Because all you can think of is... like I think they even so saw his like what was going on, and one of them was like, you get the Case 53 pass because I saw how much shit you were taking. Yeah, basically. that You went through it, my man.

Speaker: Yeah. i i yeah he's He does so well when he's like giving everyone the briefing about like this is how it how it works. And Gil Patrick is like... giving him like the reassuring glances and like the encouraging words and realizing that like Rain doesn't need it the same way that, um what's what's the name? a Lucky Break that doesn't need it in the same way that like Lucky Break did who like he also mentored. Like the i I think that's fun of like like, oh no, no, he's got this.

Speaker: He's got this. And like he does handle himself very well. He gets a little flustered at one point, but like he he handles himself very well. We're so proud. A boy's grown up. So fast.

Speaker: Oh, boy. All grown up.

Speaker: Way to go, Rain. For real. Oh, um speaking of lucky break, the of him having this like of him having this like

Speaker: moment of like the art shopping and then looking and seeing lucky break and like them kind of casually chop talking and then being like the imagery of like the barrel being so vivid like directly after this memory of their of this conversation and it's like there's so much you want to do for people And I'm sure Gil Patrick has done a lot for a lot of people.

Speaker: I mean, even Victoria has talked about him quite a bit, that she trusts him a lot. And that there's always going to be somebody like you can't save. Like you try your hardest and you try to be there and you try to encourage them in the right direction and say the right thing. And in the end, like it's all going to turn out and some people just end up in a barrel, which is awful. Yeah.

Speaker: but it happens. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And just the, the fact that he just keeps thinking back on, is there anything I could have done differently? Should have done differently.

Speaker: How can I avoid that same mistake? Um, the it's, it's tough. That's tough. Um, Yeah, what a guy. He's just a great character. And I love, I love i feel like Wild Bo writes side characters really well. Sometimes better than main characters even. um And like Gilpatrick is just such a great example of like this brief but very important character or at least very standout character in that way. Like this was the highlight for me was Gilpatrick's interludes.

Speaker: um And no shade to Rain who does the audiobook, but the voice actor who did Gilpatrick's interludes did a really good job. oh I did heard some of that from Hannah listening to it. i was like, oh, what book are you listening to?

Speaker: And then I listened to her saying, I was like, that's Gilpatrick. Oh, okay. Yeah, this is... He nailed it. He did really, really well. um Hold on, I kind actually want to look him up really quick. Because he he when he first started reading, I'm so picky when it comes to audiobook narrators. And often, like, no shade to the amazing men and women who worked so hard on the audiobook. But oftentimes, the interludes are a little bit of a lower quality. And because it's such a different voice, I i tend to read or listen to the audiobook on, like, 1.1 or 1.2 speed.

Speaker: ah And not crazy fast, but a little bit. And with switching to the interludes, it always changes it up. And I'm always like thrown and sometimes we'll just read it instead of listening to it. But his voice came on and i was like, oh, yeah.

Speaker: Hello. Hello, sir.

Speaker: He has a cowboy voice. That's the only way I know how to describe it. It's a good voice. It's a good voice.

Speaker: yeah yeah it's a good voice ah Fran said it might be the same guy that does Gru on the full cast worm audiobook, which that would be cool if so. Oh, interesting.

Speaker: Sam Gabriel is his name? Sam Gabriel. Interesting. Oh, shit. He's got a whole website. He's like an actual he's like a electric audiobook guy. yeah it looks like he done No wonder it was so good.

Speaker: ah Fabulous. ah i mean is so Yeah, doing. Yeah. Yeah, but like you said, Jacob Reign is the MVP of this interlude in the sense of like, he talks down the Case 53s. He modifies the network so that way all of the new people are not part of his group of Love Lost and Colt. He even talks down Love Lost and Colt from trying to break their connection.

Speaker: And then lastly, even manages to realize, i think maybe I can reach the people inside the Titans and sends a message. um And that, again, Rain, the protagonist, maybe we should have had. i don't know.

Speaker: um But great character, nonetheless. Oh, that would have been so interesting. Oh, my gosh. I am still of the opinion that the that this Olive Ward would have been improved slightly if we had stuck with the characters that we knew from Worm.

Speaker: But... If we had to reassign the protagonist for Ward with our current new cast, it's definitely right. 100%. i think yeah i think especially Especially with how things have turned out. Because I know we talked about this earlier, that like Tristan would have made a really good main character as well. or Or Capricorn, as it were, I think would have also been a really interesting yet main character. Two first-person narratives from Tristan and Byron like alternating on on chapters would have interesting. yeah Yeah, that would have been very interesting. Yeah. Ryan's really coming.

Speaker: And I feel like Capricorn's kind of gotten sidelined in a way. He has. yes until He senses what he, he heard you say that, Nick, because he's, had, he had some ideas towards the end here. So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. yeah No, he he has a moment and in the end, but Well, Byron's, Byron's not doing so high and Tristan's depressed as fuck. Like yeah you it's not a good time for the boys.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. Do we know at the end of C who Rain sends a message to? Do they have the end of C? No, but we we know by the end of the year. we have We know by the end, yeah. We don't know the and we can talk about it. all um like we we know i was trying to yeah I was trying to remember um who I was theorizing when he when I didn't know yet. That's what was like. do Did we know when I just missed it? Okay.

Speaker: um but Yeah, was... I had no idea. I was thinking of like a Simurg or something, but yeah, yeah. That's kind of what I was thinking. Yeah. Um, I actually thought it was a Simurg too. Uh, cause I think the only hint is we get a flash of Swan song, right?

Speaker: Um, yeah and one of the crystals and that's what triggers rain to realize maybe I can reach somebody. Um, but I actually thought the Simurg too. So it's funny you say that. Um, yeah.

Speaker: But yeah yeah, leaves it particularly ominous. And then we find out it was Contessa, which makes sense. Because then we we get back out and we see like the Titan Fortuna's kind of just chilling.

Speaker: um Like not really giving directions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very strange. yeah well so Fran pointed out ah that Rain reminds ah them a lot of the ah main character from Pact, Blake.

Speaker: um And Blake is just a sad boy with a traumatic past who rides a motorcycle and wears a leather jacket all the time. My God. You mean Mike Cripe? It's just what if rain were actually cool, except the pact was written after worm.

Speaker: And so it means that like, what if they de-coolified? We stuck him in, you know, the loser bin. so Wait, what was his Blake? blake a good name too like that's such a hot motorcycle you stick him in the and the loser the loser bin you set that shit on spin cycle and he comes out of the wash shrank you got right ah that's funny in fact I will be using shrunk from now on is my ah you know like somebody got leveled down or shrunk like like you've gotten you have glow ups but like damn he shrunk

Speaker: is like they went through the wash and they came out for the worse. Okay. Put that down. All the kids are going to using it. oh All right.

Speaker: Okay. i mean I'm going to grassroots that in like the drag community. That way, it you know, it goes in, makes its way back up. i quite would use it and then Everything starts in the queer community. That's the best way to do it.

Speaker: Eventually, you know, hit critical mass with white women on TikTok and then we can call it. yes yeah

Speaker: Oh i yeah my god. guess okay well That'll be like two years. We don't even have to worry about that. Two more chapters and a few more minutes. yeah Two more chapters. 19.5. Two new Titans appear on the front lines because we didn't have enough of those.

Speaker: The Gaborim Knight joins the fray, and the surviving members of Breakthrough are reunited and discuss what to do if one of them turns. 19.6, Victoria duels Titan Ophion, takes a hit to the leg, has it healed by Chris, and learns about Amy's piece of her.

Speaker: The began and plans their next steps. There you go. Well, well, well. So, okay, so who who has gone Titan by the end of this? We know Shortcut. Everyone, right? Shortcut. short and loser He would. Fuck him. just um Which I love even Victoria's like, I wish I could think this is some kind of karma, but Valkyrie also went Titan and she was a good person. yeah like

Speaker: Valkyrie going Titan off screen bugged me. That, listen, we can we put a pin in that and come back to that? Because I got a whole thing I want to talk about. week That's like the last thing we talk about before we wrap up this episode, so...

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. um Somebody else goes Titan too. Somebody less important than Shortcutter. Yeah. Drillbit was another name. Shortcut. Valkyrie. And I feel like there's one more. But the big two are Shortcut and Valkyrie.

Speaker: Valkyrie for obvious reasons. The names we recognize. She's like kind of has to be out on her lonesome both because of personality and also they want to keep her away from the city.

Speaker: um Much like Dragon and Defiant, except they have each other and can you know do a pretty good job of communicating inland. And poor Valkyrie is out by her lonesome and by nature of who she was before is very disconnected from humanity and...

Speaker: That's gonna... Oh, Custodian. That's the other big one. Custodian. That's who it Custodian. That's who it is. Also, fuck her. I'm sorry. The Custodian has just been a pain so many times. Now she's a bigger pain.

Speaker: Now she's a big, giant, invisible pain. Major pain. Yeah. yeah I love that Valkyrie and the Custodian both are... ah have have, you know, are separate from humanity in a way that understandably causes them to Titanify.

Speaker: um Shortcut is like the same reason ah fucking Eric and, um you know, if he had powers and Chris would Titanify is because they've pushed everybody else the way and they're miserable bitches. like Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: yeah ah Victor. Victor is the other one who's like that. Victor, yeah. They're like, oh my gosh, like why am I alone? I was like, I don't know, Shortcut, because you're a piece of shit and your whole team like basically walked out on you. away Like, hey buddy, and maybe you should stay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I barely even got hit and they're like, we noticed.

Speaker: yes Yeah. Ugh. Oh man. It's hard to feel, ah again Even though we know Shortcut vaguely, and we have interacted with him in the past you know two arcs, doesn't I don't care. There's nothing.

Speaker: i don't care. i don't care. Fume Hood, that sucked. ah Moose and Prancer, that wasn't great for me on the inside. That hurt me very much. I cried.

Speaker: ah and and and And Valkyrie, yeah, we'll come back to Valkyrie. I just don't care about them.

Speaker: i don't care about the the Titans. I really, really don't. Yeah. Yeah. um Yeah. big Big, giant, naked Chevalier Flesh Titan was kind of funny, at least.

Speaker: um Yeah. The Gaborim Knight, it's known. Yeah. the yeah the Gibberim. Is the Gibberim Knight a Titan? the gore knights want to No, the Gibberim Knight is yeah one of Chris and Amy's things. yeah okay Something they started saying though in this chat in this arc so far is that they have been playing really fast and loose with um calling all of the giants yeah um Titans basically. Yeah. and i don't what I don't like because... why do use the water

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I'm not a mono fan. Yeah. um There. Oh, can I tell you guys something really, really silly? But also, I got really excited for no fucking reason.

Speaker: yeah So when the when the bugs arrived, oh these these wasp caterpillar nonsenses, I did have a moment where I was like,

Speaker: Taylor? But what if? yeah Because here's the thing. if if If we are to believe this this you know additional extra chapters that like maybe she's just on in another dimension. Maybe she's just a girl.

Speaker: Maybe she's just a girl, okay?

Speaker: Would she not know that some shit is going on? Would she not come back? It's the old Corona Blontia blown the fuck out by... See, what I thought, I thought that too, Hannah, but I thought a different direction. I thought back to when Chris said, hey, we're going to make another Titan. This one's going to be someone you know.

Speaker: I thought, like, when I saw this, I was like, oh, did they make a Taylor Titan? I mean, there's got to be... Because Taylor worked for the wards. The girl hair. Probably had her DNA. Yeah.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. She had curly hair. We know curly hair gets everywhere. Yeah. Shedding constantly. Exactly. The deus ex machina I would allow for Ward is for all hope to be lost. Everything is dying.

Speaker: And Taylor just like portals in from another dimension Like, hey, like fixed her fixed her connection to the type to the ah shards off screen, plugged herself back in and was like, you know, ahsh here here we go again. Here we go again.

Speaker: Solves it off screen. I'd accept it. Yeah. Yeah. not all it's just the you just yeah i was going to say it's Victoria allie victoria not you know in in like gold text.

Speaker: She just sees the words on your left in her eyes. and it's just Oh, it's Taylor out of the portal. Amazing. I would never say no. Ed looks back all excited, then wait a minute, what and realizes what that what this means, and then just becomes another taylor part of the Taylor Swarm again. No, it's true, yeah. You know what? Thank God bless the Taylor Swarm. Oh, shit. Here we go again. Which would be a really cool POV from one of the bugs, quote unquote, in the Swarm. You know? Just doing its own business, and then all of a yoink.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. Yeah. I do love the, uh, the conversation with breakthrough too, about like, what if we, oh yeah what if we start to get, um, tightened? What do we do? Do we, do we plug ourselves before we, we go full Titan?

Speaker: Um, and that is the, you know, that is the, uh, the dilemma that I've, I've often thought about. And I really like it when like, It's not super common, but like in a lot of zombie movies or zombie tropes, ah you know that is the trope, right? The person who gets a bit hit hides it for a bit, and then they're I'm turning, you got to kill me before I turn, you know that whole trope.

Speaker: right um you know So it it is very similar to that, except you know giant titans. giant titans ah Fran had a comment that I think everybody was smiling at. How would Amy have gotten Taylor's DNA anyway? She's not even blonde. That was good.

Speaker: was good um Before I forget, because I want to forget, we also got another name drop that we hadn't heard in a long time. But Lung is alive and well. Lung! Yeah! I about Lung. Yeah. did get cut in half and not even yeah bothered. Please. What a good thing it is to have friends in low, low, low places. Oh boy.

Speaker: I do love their like I do love the fact that they're still like, we don't really know the upper limit of lungs power. no Yeah, I love that. That's great. After all this time, you're like we like we think if we give him 15 minutes or so, like maybe he could go toe-to-toe with a Titan. Consistent fighting, too. because because Because Victoria makes a comment where she looks over at him she's like, oh my gosh, he's gotten so big. And then she see looks sees him later and he's gotten back smaller again. She's like, oh, I guess they couldn't like keep up continual fighting with

Speaker: him and one of the titans because uh is it scotty who's blipping around all over the place yeah yeah yeah yeah and so i mean that's that's kind of a bummer that's a bit of a bummer but like the idea that like you would be wise to stay away from him because otherwise he just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger and then like let's go kaiju fight come on yeah yeah yeah exactly exactly got Good name drop. Speaking of name drops, Alexandria gets a name drop as well.

Speaker: um when we When we get that radioactive superhero. Poor thing. the what a What a rough power. ah So rough. And that she didn't realize it until she'd lost like everybody. Her family, or her partner, her dog. like Co-workers. And finally someone went, oh, radiation. Yeah.

Speaker: Have you ever ever wondered why everybody in your life gets cancer? Oh my god, that's awful. It's so awful. Because you wouldn't necessarily realize it until you realized it. And someone went, okay, so.

Speaker: but yeah there's that. There's what? There's that. ah The two things that came to mind are one, there's like an an X-Men one-off. where a boy wakes up with mutant powers, but, you know, in the X-Men universe, mutant powers are just, like, random and often terrible.

Speaker: He wakes up, and his power basically melts people within, like, a 20, like, a one-mile radius of his body. Oh, God. And so he's just, like, trying to wake up and go about his day, and, like, like he sees, like, his friends running to him, and then they just start melting. it's like Yeah. And then finally... Imagine what you imagine Sleeper is. and Yeah. It's not that Sleeper's...

Speaker: Like when they talk about sleeper getting up, it's like, how do you communicate with them? It's like, just blow up the city in front of them. you be like, Oh, back to my porch. Yeah. up Yeah. Or the other one I was going to mention. Yeah. it yes That's the first one. Peter Parker's semen is radioactive. Yeah.

Speaker: Why? There's a comic. There's a, there's a comic arc where Mary Jane gets cancer and dies because of Peter Parker. Yeah. Listen, listen, i love, listen, i love that I get to do podcast with you fucking nerds and that the chat is full of fucking nerds. I love you guys so much.

Speaker: I didn't need to know that. I would never. really did, though, because Nick, Truitt, and I all thought it immediately. We all thought it immediately. Oh, my God. Thought it immediately. Think about the people you just listed, Alan. Did I really? Here's the thing.

Speaker: when they When they talked about hot loads, they were they were talking about the radiation levels, not, like, temperature. Yeah. Here's the thing. It's just so so funny as an extremity because Peter Parker is consistently in the comics and in the movies to an extent, but definitely in the comics, is Marvel's emotional punching bag.

Speaker: Because every time they're like, man, Peter Parker's life sucks. How can we make it worse, actually? Yeah. Yeah, and it's that or He's actually doing really well right now Don't let him have that Let's take that away He just got married and bought a house Rip that all away Yeah yeah yeah yeah Break his heart I still remember I wasn't even like a Marvel Comics fan But I still remember seeing headlines about ah How Mysterio basically forced him to divorce MJ At one point It was like a major story arc

Speaker: of like basically it was like either I'm going to obliterant obliterate Aunt May or obliterate Aunt May.

Speaker: um Yeah, obliterate Aunt May or I'll send you back in time to before you and MJ were together and act as if it never happened. And he's like, well, I want to save Aunt May's life because, i you know.

Speaker: It's like, it's like, like, but every time it's like, Oh, he finally got, no, kill him. Yeah. yeah the The ultimate, the other one that I think of in the comics is that Lex Luthor always wears his, ah like radioactive, um, kryptonite ring.

Speaker: ah you know, so that he can deal with Superman. And everybody keeps telling him, dude, the reason you're bald and like all this other stuff is because you're killing yourself. Like having that, you're always around kryptonite. You wear a kryptonite ring. That's hilarious. That one I didn't know. And he's like, no, no, I'm too smart for that. It coughs up blood, you know? like and And the Superman has to like, like bro, like you're killing yourself. I'm not killing you. And he's like, how could Superman do this to me?

Speaker: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That's DC, first off. Yeah, yeah. My deepest apologies. Oh, crazy. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: Anyways, um what else we got before we end one of the most unhinged podcast episodes of all time? I genuinely thought that 1906 was where Victoria goes tight. The moment when she's cornered by Ophion and he's fighting. She's panicking. She's getting stabbed. I'm like, this is it. I thought this might happen. She's going to get stabbed. like Something's going to happen. The body of Scorpio is going to get to her.

Speaker: Be awful if you did. No, instead, ah she manages to get out and Chris is like, I can help you, by the way. No! do it yeah No, no, we don't take help from Chris. Not when he has proven himself to be completely un unreliable.

Speaker: this is This is the most upset here true, true. But listen, if I had a nickel for every time a lab rat shot saved a protagonist in a wild bow work,

Speaker: yeah I have two nickels. It isn't a lot, but it's weird. It happened twice. Jeez. Yeah, it's it's um okay. so my emotional rollercoaster of these chapters were, oh my God, you guys, I think we have a chance.

Speaker: I think we can do it. Followed by. rain and them all going through and being like, oh my God, wait, actually, i i think we could. i think we could. um To ah to to ah the conversation with Breakthrough of like, well,

Speaker: if we'd rather put a bullet in our head than go full Titan, to being like, oh my God, we're not going to survive this, to Victoria, me being convinced that Victoria was going to die and or become a Titan, I thought she was going to just die. I didn't think she would become a Titan. i was like, I think she's just going to...

Speaker: I should get crushed. Smooshed. Yeah. To ending these chapters with like, I think if I were here, oh little cat. um If I were here, if I were in the world, I think I probably would have become a Titan at this point in 19.6. Because i have no...

Speaker: like confidence in our success in the slightest at all. Like, I don't even feel a little bit confident. Like, I feel like we're all just going to die and that'll be the end of Ward. We're all dead.

Speaker: And okay. I don't really have the heart to fight it anymore. As long as we live long enough to kill Amy. Yeah.

Speaker: And potentially Chris. Chris is fine too. We'll take them both out. that is Those are the last two people that need to survive. It's the very end of the world. Everybody else is dead. It's just Victoria and Amy. And Amy's like, you know, you said we're the last people on Earth.

Speaker: And Victoria's like, I'd rather kill myself. And she's like, no, Amy, I'm the last person alive. Straight, straight, straight crushed. Yeah, or crushed windpipe or something. I just need something. no, no. Flies above her emotional support gun.

Speaker: yeah. We know what it is, actually. She doesn't use gun. No, no, no. Here's what it is. Here's what it is. Here's the poetic irony. Victoria has the ret shaped force field because of Amy.

Speaker: Amy's power works by touch. Amy does not have the ability to touch or break through the force field. Victoria pushes her up against the wall and like begins to like spin her force field like a blender.

Speaker: You give her the the red towel treatment. they like wait yeah Exactly. A smear. The smear. No, no, no. What you do is the like you have her get hugged by the wretch.

Speaker: And as she's like crushing her and the blood's coming out, it's it's stretching over the wretch so the wretch is visible now. Yeah. Oh, and the blood is now outlining all the hands and the hair and the faces and stuff.

Speaker: Gosh. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Let's do it. That's the scene. I'm ready. um Yeah. I'm ready for happen. There you go. Yeah. But this is, again, a a weird, not a charitable moment from Chris, but he's like, by the way, you should know.

Speaker: He's like, yeah, I i did arrange for you and Amy to meet. He doesn't say sorry, but he's basically like, what a dick. It is what it is, kind of, I guess. I'm not sure what he was trying to do. But then he's like, oh, by the way, you should know.

Speaker: Got a little piece of you right on her heart. Tender her bra. oh yeah Victoria's like, yep, she's dead. love that. She's like all fuck oh yeah dad just like fully calm. She's just like, yeah,

Speaker: i'm go to kill her good He's like, I don't know when I'm going to see here again, but it will be the last time. it will yeah Once again, just she's gonna she's going to take that emotional support gun or the remnants of it. She's going to get about you know a mile above the you know earth and she's just going to drop it.

Speaker: Amy's going to be you know you know being like, oh, look at me. I'm such a good person. Pity me. all boo yeah And then just. Exactly.

Speaker: I do love. Yeah. yeah Yeah, yeah. Oh, so good. Well, we get to the end and the team is like, okay, we're going to split the party.

Speaker: That's not going to go well. um But we're going to split it Rain is like, I think we can do something. And Victoria is like, okay, I'm with you. Look out. Look out. Robot is with them as well, I think. Right.

Speaker: Yep. And then Sveta and Tristan say, set interest and say ok we'll hold the line. You guys do what you need to do and we'll hold the line up here. That makes me real nervous.

Speaker: Everybody talk to whoever you need to talk to on the inside. Yeah.

Speaker: Okay. We'll see. All right. So Hannah, you want to talk about Valkyrie? I need to talk about Valkyrie. Getting got off screen.

Speaker: I, geez, Louise, I hate that. I hate that so much. And like, Alan, what you said about the whole, like, well, she's she's very isolated and she doesn't have anybody.

Speaker: But like, why one of our most overpowered capes who literally keeps other people alive?

Speaker: who is able to bring back people we lost in Gold Morning and beyond. and And she's the one we lose. Like, i it's so, like, okay, just because you're important or you're famous or you mean a lot to a lot of people doesn't mean you don't also get depression or feel hopeless.

Speaker: that That's not how that works. So, okay,

Speaker: she's a titan now. But I hate it so much. I will say, though, I am... We are sort of confirmed that the flock is disconnected from her in the sense that, like, they didn't all turn into Titans, too. Because that's what I thought when it was like, oh, Valkyrie. We lost Valkyrie. It's like, oh, great. So the flock are also going to go full Titan? Like, what's going to happen here?

Speaker: And then I think we see somebody... Who's still on the ground. They're still fine. So there's enough of a disconnect here. That's good. It also is very validating to feel like Aunt Sarah. Aunt Sarah.

Speaker: That she is disconnected enough from Valkyrie that she is her own person. And not like just another puppet of Valkyries. Like that the flock isn't just semi-puppeteered by Valkyrie.

Speaker: So that is very validating, but I...

Speaker: like, it makes sense, but, like, in the narrative of the story, it sucks that it happened off-screen, and it just feels like... We didn't even get an interlude, which we might. We have another one coming up, and a couple more in the arc, but... was gonna say, want to talk about that at the end. Yeah.

Speaker: We get we get a Valkyrie interlude in in Ward, and her interlude is her single-handedly handling S-class threats. Like, yeah that's her interlude. It's like, oh, by the way, she is so strong now that she's, you know, solo leveling this bitch.

Speaker: Yeah, in Arc 9 of all things. Yeah. So again, yeah it's just kind of like the Titans haven't been shown to be that strong. It does make sense why she would Titan at this.

Speaker: like so knowing yeah I don't yeah hate the decision of her becoming a Titan. i It's just like, let us see it. but Yeah, I mean, we we had a chance to, right? Because she nearly died at one point. We see that in an interlude, I want to say, where she nearly gets got by the machine army, if I remember right.

Speaker: yeah I don't think it was the Machine Army. No, it was one of the Titans yeah with the Machine Army. like they were all but like It was like a three-way battle, kind of. Between Machine Army, Valkyrie, and one of the Titans that was over there. yeah um The Titan almost gets her.

Speaker: um Yeah, yeah i just I do kind of wish we'd seen it, but I think that's kind of the... I guess what to expect is like we're wrapping up and there's just not enough time to see all of that, unfortunately.

Speaker: um Also, as Fran says, yes this takes away the ability to bring back characters from the dead. like This is officially... no one's going to Gru's cabin. I'm fine with.

Speaker: fine with. Yeah, I'm okay you. As far as we know, Gru's back from the cabin. so yeah really was ah Because he was just in the cabin and then he just was like... He came back. scene is just

Speaker: post creditdit seen it's just Single shot on a random cabin. Door opens. Rupert peeks his head out.

Speaker: Shit still fucked out there? Like, just sees the Titans in the distance. Yeah. yeah ah As his girlfriend boobs boobily in the background.

Speaker: Yeah, that's true. Victoria also judges the hell out of her. Yeah, exactly. yeah Yeah, i i'm i will say I'm ending these chapters feeling very

Speaker: not confident, not like honestly at this point, like maybe the world should end. Maybe things should just be that close door. That's rough, bro.

Speaker: Yeah. Nature of finds a way. So nature will figure it out. Yeah. um yeah but With that being said, ah in two weeks, we will be reading 19.7, 19.8, 19.9, and four regular with five interludes.

Speaker: There you go. I was about to say there's a billion interludes. It's a lot of reading. was that just the rest of 19? the rest of nineteen That is the rest of 19. But yeah, it's 19.7. Or not even 19.7. We started nineteen point d to 19.Z.

Speaker: i was about to say, because we come right out of this straight into an interlude for our next chapter. Yep. yeah So four regular chapters, five interlude chapters. Those are always a good time.

Speaker: Yes, J-Man, the D is always first. um And then we have one more arc after that. And it's not even the longest arc.

Speaker: Crazy. Crazy. That is. That'll be August 10th in two weeks. Holy shit. Two weeks. Wild.

Speaker: Wild. I've got to imagine it's going to be a lot easier. Exactly. It'll be a lot easier to read these chapters than it was the first part of arc 19. So, yeah.

Speaker: Healing. That scene. I'm trying to remember what even provides it. Yeah, it's got to be. It's going to be ah it's going to be Gilpatrick ah related, I assume, as well. Yeah,

Speaker: I don't know. Is that... Oh, okay. Well, ah you're all wrong. um the The healing freaked me the fuck out, gave me the heebie-deebie-jeebies, and gave me goosebumps because I felt so ill. Gilpatrick was great. But no, ah when when um Victoria couldn't look at her own leg.

Speaker: Ooh. Yeah, fair. I thought it might be that. trying to get out, and she's screaming, and she can't. She's feeling trapped, and she's just freaking out, and she just doesn't know what to do. Like, that...

Speaker: wrecked me that was some really good writing i thought he was gonna die there scenes that was a that was a great moment that was a good one yeah for sure um yeah yeah that was a good one for sure uh uh bernard wants to know who do we think will win the titans or the simurg uh i'm gonna say neither gonna say yeah i say neither and one at once Nobody. Speaker: That's why J-Man is the goat. That's true. Fran wants to know which character will survive the most next chapters. ah Probably Kinsey because she's the only one who's not actually there.

Speaker: She better not actually be there. Yeah, oh my god. Robo Kinsey. Girl only needs to go home. She's going to show up with the machine army.

Speaker: yeah yeah you know take to just scar take over They're all just cameras. Actually, though, that would be so cool. I wouldn't be upset it was like, oh, hey, what are we going to do about the machine army? And Kenzie's like, oh, no, I already took care of that.

Speaker: They're all like, oh, cool. Honestly, once once you get to know them, they're pretty chill. They just really wanted eyes. They didn't have any. yeah yeah I have so many cameras to give them. I just let them have access to all of Dragon's stuff. Oh, no!

Speaker: I'm just saying E.T. They just wanted some Reese's Pieces. They're dirt and they're cool. yeah and Is it Reese's Pieces or is it Reese's Pieces? Reese's Pieces.
