Okay. I have been serving the Lord in ministry since 2002. It was January of 2002 when God called me to ministry. I have three daughters. They're all adults now. And as you said, I've got five grandbabies from those three daughters. So we're, we're living life with them and still, you know, just as in ministry, as much as I can possibly be with, with all of my busy life and I'm loving it.

Teaching the Word to Women

Do you love, do you like teaching? Do you love the relational aspect? Tell me. Oh yeah. I'll definitely call to be a teacher of the word to women. um and It is, and we'll get to talk about that, but God clarified my dream in a dream, but what my calling was. But I love getting to teach the Word. It's my passion. It's my calling. It's where I know It's where I know it I'm supposed to be. And I think I've told you, you know, one thing is I'm very structured. I'm structured and in my um in my walk with the Lord. I'm structured in my Bible study. I'm structured in my time with Jesus. It's just who I am. So,

Being able to write Bible studies for women has been really a blessing because I've been able to lay that structure out in those. So anyway, that's been cool too.

Oh, I love that. And we'll have you definitely share anything that you have for us to glean from Bible study wise, because I know myself, I need the structure. I'm not always the best at creating it for myself. And so when someone else helps me with that, i'm like, thank you.

You know, I've been reading in scripture right now. I've been going through Exodus and the tabernacle and all. Oh my goodness. God is so structured and so detailed, you know, so he's exactly, he does, he does both, but you know, God's just huge.

He is huge and we're all made in his image. And I know, you know, we all get a little bit like, I wish I we had more of that gifting, right? Maybe I wish I had more of that gifting, but we all represent him. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Absolutely. Absolutely. On that note, you had talked about your structures and in the morning having yeah scripture. And will you tell me what, tell us what you read today because it's so poignant.
Reflections on Good Friday

Well, today's Good Friday. Yes, it is. Yeah. So I was like, Lord, yeah ah normally what I would have done today was I would have read five Psalms and one Proverbs. That's just what I'm doing in the morning right now. And I just felt like the Lord said, you know, just focus on where I was this day, all those, you know, years ago. And so I read all the passages through the Gospels where um it was about crucifixion day, you know, so everything that Jesus was going through, is where I read. Well, it was interesting to me. I had, before I opened up the Word, I'd spent probably an hour or so just talking to the Lord. And I said, Lord, you know, I'm doing this podcast. I asked for anointing upon me. I asked for an anointing upon you and and just his bringing us together to share what he wanted us to share. and ah But I said, I need to know exactly what is it you want. So I read Matthew 27, the very first gospel that I opened up and read. And in it is where

Jesus is standing before a Pilate and his his accusers are all there. And Pilate's wife comes in to Pilate while she's he's on in the judgment seat you know And he she says...

I actually wrote it down, have nothing to do with that just man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him. And, you know, she doesn't tell what the dream is, but she knew what it meant. She knew he was a just man. And I loved it that God had given this woman a dream of what was about to come to pass, you know, in everything she saw, she was, I think she was kind of in an agony in that dream. She felt her dream. So I loved that. Just knowing we were coming, you know, together today to do this. I know. i When you brought it up, I thought this is so perfect because i haven't and I haven't brought up the pilot's wife situation much on the podcast, but it's something that I i contemplate quite a lot because i I look through all of the dreams that are named in scripture quite a bit, and most of them we're really accustomed to.

But this is one of the, the if not the only a dream recorded from a female in all of scripture, certainly the only one recorded in the New Testament Even though we know people were having dreams and they were having visions, like it's all over the place. But this one was documented for a very important reason. The fact it was a female, the fact that it happened at that exact time and that she was so moved yes by what it meant that she, I mean, that was probably pretty bold.

Yeah. hard That's what I was thinking. Just stepped up in that. Yeah. That was a big, big deal. I think. I think so too. A woman stepping out with all these like men in this place of counsel and judgment. Like, wow. Yeah, it's pretty big. The mystery of why why inter so why interject that at that moment? you know we don't yeah We don't know yeah even what happened in Pilate's heart after that. We don't know what happened to them after the whole fact of of Christ being crucified. Who knows?

Yeah. maybe they're I just wondered, what was that like? I mean, she says she suffered many things. because of him in the dream. So, you know, and that's another thing, just thinking about dreams because you feel them.

I mean, but you know, they're, they can, especially I think when it's from the Lord, you feel the reality of it so much. So that's anyway absolutely true. I'm so glad. So tell me a little bit, Pat, about dreams in your life and how they've played a role. yeah Okay. Well, they have I've always been a dreamer. I mean, as a little child, I remember dreaming a lot. And in fact, I i had dreams when I was a little child that of a little red devil man chasing me. And I just, say had I did. And me running in the woods and hiding. So I remember that. and And then to go through, the look back now and see those dreams that I had then and think about what all happened because boy, did the enemy ever come after me like,

ah like just like that you know and um really really took me on a dark path i mean we had talked about in the past um uh that i have a new age background and with that new age background ah you know a lot of those dreams i remember kind of work trying to find out what those dreams have meant and doing it from a different perspective now i come knowing that what I'm doing now is I'm bringing this to the Lord and and allowing the Lord to speak and minister to me and to my heart and my life through dreams. But once upon a time, you know, that wasn't quite that way for me. And so the the new age thing really took me through a really dark path. I went in a lot of places that I really didn't know. And you know, one of the things that

You know, okay, my calling is the word, teach the word, because I would say that one of the biggest ways that the enemy got me and tripped me up so much, um,

in pre-Jesus was by, I had been raised in church. I was there every time the doors were open. So i I had just enough of the word in me to be dangerous. You know, I didn't know it. And so the enemy twists and distorts the word. And, you know, I thought, I thought when it said, you must be born again, when Jesus said, you must be born again, it was because we had to be reincarnated.

ah You know, so I mean, that's how that's how I perceived that. I didn't understand the difference of from a physical born, a you know, we'd been born ah physically and then we have a spiritual rebirth that has to happen. I had to know the Lord and have His Holy Spirit it filled me to bring me to that place of being able to discern what the word actually really means. But I always say, i think...

You know, knowing too little of the word, it's like if you know a little bit, but you don't know much, we are so, so in danger of deception, especially in this day and time. So that's one of the reasons I'm such a hardcore, you got to know what the word says, because I've been down a path that didn't, I didn't need to go.

Yes. That's so interesting. i i That makes so much sense. Why, especially if you had had this new age influence, that that's what you would think. Like, logically, I see that yeah without the the baptism of the spirit and that connection to Jesus. I see how you would deduce that. Can you can you share anything else with us? Yeah.

How did it happen for you to actually end up on that path? Was it gradual? what Yes. Okay.

Yes. and That's another thing. When I when i speak and share any anything ah along this lines, I always say, you know, the enemy doesn't mind if you take action.

slow steps. In fact, I think he likes that because he can just gradually take you on this path that he wants you to do. And it's subtle. You don't realize that you're going. So I was actually introduced to new age. and um ah and all these spiritual kind of things by my mother-in-law, my ex-mother-in-law. I've been married and divorced. So um anyway, she had introduced me to that and given me some books. And I just thought it was really interesting. I mean, it literally was curiosity.

Nothing else is where he got me. And I started reading it. And what happened was I kept i read more books. So it kind of stirred this curiosity up in me. And I i can remember ah every book seemed to be just a little bit further, a little bit darker, a little bit, you know, little bit.

But I can remember at one point, I had gotten to this place of deceive so much that I remember turning the back of the book over. And you know how they're categorized. They have the genre at the top of it. And it said occult. And I've been raised in church, and I can remember going, occult, occult.

occult. Isn't that something bad? wow And then just being like, nah, there's nothing we're wrong with this and going on. But you know, one thing, and this isn't something I talk, ah I do share it sometimes. So it's not like i never share it, but just to know the place that that the enemy took me is eventually, I'm talking several years in, i have read book after book, occult book after occult book until I'm really in this pretty dark spot. And I remember going into a bookstore

And picking up a book, all I can remember is on the cover, it said, How to Practice Witchcraft. Wow. And I picked it up. And when I picked it up and I'm looking at it I'm shaking. And I hear...

not audibly, but I hear it. That is too far. Put it up. And I put it up and I'm shaking all over and I leave out of this the store. And when I went home, I started one by one throwing those books away. i did not not I didn't know the Lord. I didn't understand what was happening, but he was pulling me in. He was pulling me back. He was fighting for me. He was fighting for you. I have goosebumps. I have goosebumps. Yeah.

So then that process of kind of getting rid of the the books, yeah were you also like not as deeply walking in that or looking for counsel in that way as well in that time? Or was it a kind of an all at once turnaround? Yeah.

No, it would it was, I wasn't looking for counsel because I really didn't have any counsel to look to that I, you know, really thought would be that kind of counsel. Got it. um But, you know, I just remember in that season, I had a dream. I have not thought about this in years, but I remember being like a child on a playground And everything there was gray.

It was like the there was sand and dirt. There wasn't life. There wasn't plants. There wasn't beauty. It was dark and gray. And I'm standing by a swing set and the swing is swinging, but there's no one on it. And it just, I remember knowing there is something evil here.

you know, and I remember waking up and that was happening. I got had that dream during all that time, when and it was another thing that made me throw more of it away. Now, it it took ah there was a day after I came to know the Lord, probably a good I would say a whole five years into my salvation experience that one day the Lord made me throw every, I mean, I had a house to clean and if it had ever had anything to do, because I, at that point I'd already gotten rid of a bunch of stuff, you know, so it was, sure it was the softer stuff. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it wasn't as, yeah. So, um but I had not really realized the,

the spirit, I think, that went with that, you know. And he finally brought me to that place and said, everything out. So I got rid of everything. Gosh, this is so beautiful. I love the way he pursued you in the middle of that. I know.

A Dream of Calling

Okay. So then the dreams that you've had where he was speaking to you about calling or even clarifying your calling to the teacher of the Bible. Tell us about that dream. Okay. So i i had been...

This was all when I got rid of everything. Okay, let's fast forward a year. a year later, i mean, I am all in with Jesus. I am pursuing Him with everything I've got. i am at church. every I don't care what kind of church it is. If there's a church having a service, I am there. I've recorded church on TV. I come home from work and I'm listening. you know I'm that just so all in. so um where about a ah year later,

that God called me into ministry. And the way that He did it was um was through just speaking to me in kind of like, it wasn't a vision, but He spoke to me in the night. I was asleep and I heard Him say, do you realize i knew you, Pat Domain, before the foundation of the world? And i sat up in the bed and I heard him voice. I didn't hear audible voice. I heard him speak though. Do you realize I knew you, Pat Domain, when you were in your mother's womb? And then the last thing I heard was, do you realize I knew you, Pat Domain, when the nails went into my wrist? And so

I knew God was speaking to me. So once again, i know the word is the way I know. The word's my safe place. After having the occult kind of background, yeah that is why i am like, I'm going to that. I know I'm safe there. So I got up in the middle of the night, probably three o'clock in the morning, go get in my closet. I had three kids at the house. That was where i did life with the Lord as much as I could. you know So I just took my Bible in my closet and opened it up. And I was at that place in Exodus 33, where God says to Moses and that what Moses actually said, you've said, you know me by name. Mm-hmm. So when I realized that, you know, God was calling Moses to lead his people. And I recognized that there was a calling that God was speaking to me. This was a personal thing.

So fast forward then for a year, I basically would just say, I said yes to Jesus. I didn't know what that meant, but I said yes to Jesus. Well, this one particular night, I went to sleep and had a dream, and my husband and I had gone into a restaurant, which was very normal at that time of our life. We were just living on the edge, and I wasn't cooking very much. I was you know just three kids in three different schools and busy life, so it was something.

But ah when we walked in the restaurant, I remember being able to see into the kitchen. You know how you can go in and see in a restaurant in the kitchen. And they were all singing praises to God. And I just looked at my husband and I said, wow, this is the coolest restaurant. I am coming back here. i don't even know what their food's like. I don't care. They're singing praises to God, you know. So we go sit down at our table and I notice that it's one of those things that you're just really being led to really pay attention to all the things that going on in the scene around you. Okay. So I recognize I'm sitting at a table and the table's round. It's got the round white table cloth and I look around. Everybody's table is like that.

And then it was like something else kind of stood out. And I realized that what else stood out was besides my husband sitting there, everybody else in that room was women. There wasn't another man. um So that was a clear something for me. And then...

I noticed that no one in that restaurant had food on their table. And I was like, what in the world is that? So I turned back around to look at my table and see if there's anything on my table. And in the middle, right in the middle of it, displayed for me is my Bible. And I was like, oh, my Bible. And I picked it up and I opened it and I just started tearing out a page at a time. I'd crumple it up, put it in my mouth. I would eat it. And when i would, i would just be like,

oh my goodness, that is the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. And I just kept doing it. I kept doing i probably did that six or seven times in my dream. i did I didn't count that. That's not stuck in my dream. But all of a sudden it hit me, oh my goodness, I have this to eat and no one else in this restaurant has food. So a Southern girl, okay, I just reach over and touch the lady on my right and say, ma'am, would you just try this and see if this isn't the best thing you've ever eaten?

And so she takes my Bible, she does exactly what I had done, tears out a page, crumples it up, puts it in her mouth, and eats it. And when she did, I watched her face light up. I mean, she, and she's nodding her head in agreement. She is like, yes, you're right. This is the best thing I've ever eaten.

And so then I'm so pumped up. I'm like, oh my gosh, she got it. So I jump up in the restaurant with my Bible and I turn around and i open it up and I'm just banging on it saying, ladies, taste and see that the Lord is good. And I opened my eyes and I know God just told me my calling.

I think we just need a moment of silence after that. ah yeah That is so awesome. Yeah. When you told me, you didn't tell me quite as much detail last time. I was in the scene with you this time. Dang. And that was so clear. I mean, you didn't even need interpretation. You wo up woke up and were like, oh, yeah. I knew.

Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Is this a dream that you go back to? I mean, are there moments? Oh, yeah. All the time. Oh my goodness. I would say it has absolutely, because that was, ah that would have been in 2003.

two thousand three So this is 2026. And I will tell you, i have wanted to quit ministry so many times. I mean, just, you know, it's hard. I know everything that people do has hard things. So I'm not trying to say this is harder than anything else. But I mean, I've just faced some really difficult cult seasons in ministry that were just heartbreaking and devastating and painful. And if I hadn't had that dream, I just don't know. Because it has been the thing that when I've wanted to quit the most, because I'm talking, I have been on my face before the Lord saying, please take this calling from me. And I just always hear no

and And it reminds me of this. So even I even put the other day, ah I sent an email to my my email list, my so subscribe subscribers, and i told them about the dream. And just because you and I had talked, and so it was all fresh on my mind, you know.

And I just said, you know, every time every morning when I get done hanging out with Jesus and I go walk into my office, that dream really is still the thing that pushes me there. So, so powerful to me what a dream can do for you.

And God knows that. That's the thing with the dreams is, you know, when we have that experience, it's yeah visual, it's sensory. i believe there's actually encounter in the spirit realm. Something is happening too. Oh yeah. That stuff just sticks with you.

Yeah. Unlike anything else, you know, if someone had written you a letter and wrote that out, it would have been powerful, but it would not have been the same. Right. You didn't have this personal experience encounter. And I mean, i know your husband in the dream, we talked about this a little bit before was likely Jesus right with you. mean, just representing him in that place with you because spouses will often have to yeah do this in our dreams, right? Because he's, we're going to marry him. We're the bride. Yeah. Yeah. And so that it was really an experience with God as well. Yeah.

Oh, I really haven't ever put that together. i love that. You know, of of all of it, I haven't really ever thought about. I always thought he was my husband, which I get that as well with what you're saying. But um just because BJ has also supported me in ministry, if I had, you know, had his help. Yeah. So, but then to think about that, him representing Jesus, yeah I mean, that's what a husband really is doing for you anyway. Exactly. Yeah. And know, it could be both, but oftentimes people can have a symbolic angle in our dreams, which when we know them, it's kind of hard to see them in a symbolic way, but there's often too. So that was just really his presence, Jesus's presence with you in that dream.

Just to close here, I really want you to talk about your book. And the experience God brought you through, because that was really kind of a biblical encounter, if you will. Absolutely. Okay.
Lessons from Pottery

Yeah. And, you know, i think that was also another way that God spoke to me. what it was...

through someone else, but it was also that visual encounter. So what I had, my my book is called My Maker and Me. It's a six week Bible study of becoming God's beautiful vessel. And it's all based on ah where Isaiah 64 says that God is our potter and we are the clay and all we are the work of his hand. So it's really focused on that. And so what I did was i was in, we were serving at church, we were serving in the youth department. And ah this one night, a friend of ours who was the head of the art department, also a master potter, did a pottery demonstration. And he shared how God had spoken to him, shown him who he was through the art of pottery. And one of the things I love about Gary is now he...

He knows what God's Word says, and and he listens to it and all of that, but he's not one that is a big reader. you know So he really has wrestled with that throughout his life. But one of the things that's so cool is how much God taught him of who he is through that art and through that ah pottery and that experience with his own hands shaping and making the the pottery. And, you know, he learned how God loves the clay and how God has this vision and intention that is very specific each time that he goes to shape something, you know, and create a new creation and and the function of it. And there's all these different processes that, so I see that, i see his demonstration and I am absolutely moved beyond that.

Oh my goodness. I was like, I must study the Bible that way. I must know what God's word says about God is the potter. And what does that mean for me? So, but I knew that I needed to go to Gary and see what is that process look like in the physical. So I could lay that out before the Lord and and with the word. And so I went to his classes and learned how to do pottery. and when I did,

Thank you. Oh my goodness. So many lessons. We could be here forever. But I'll just kind of quickly go through. ah The first thing that he said, that where the Bible study started, is this one particular day. he It's the very beginning, my very beginning time that I've got the pottery, the clay in my hands, and i am trying to do what he said. And, you know, I get to the end of it, and I'm getting it going, and all of a sudden it just...

falls apart And he said, Pat, your foundation was off. Foundation is crucial. And I was like, that's where it begins. So the very beginning of it is about our foundation. The next thing was whenever it was off balance. If the clay isn't centered on the will, not. you can't create, right? you know And so um that was where the Bible study goes from there, having that center. Christ is the center. And then the next thing that I loved was living water. that When the potter is making

ah anything. He's got to have water. And I remember asking Gary this one particular day that he's doing the clay and he's pouring all this water on it as he's shaping. And I said, Gary, can you can you shape it without the water? And he said, you know, Pat, I hadn't done that in a long time, but I'll try it right now and let you see. And so he throws a new piece of clay on the wheel and it's spinning and his hands are on it. And he's he's telling me what's happening while he's doing it. And he said, this the clay is getting hot. My hands are getting hot. And he said, look at the clay. And it was starting to tear. Right.

rips all along the clay were happening. and um And then all of a sudden, when he puts the pressure on it, the clay went flying six feet off of the wheel in the middle of the room.

And ah we were like, wow. So I loved what that said. You know, the living water is the Holy Spirit. I mean, you know, and and the living water is the Word. And we need that in our lives to be shaped. That's what He's using to shape us into healing. his beautiful vessel. And of course, we end up going through the the season. a lot of times the clay has to then go sit on the shelf and wait for it to dry out before it can go to the next step. Oh, do we ever not want to wait? But God's doing something in that, you know?

and then and so how many times do we think God forgot us? And the whole time he's like, no, I haven't. You're right where I want you, you know, and then go into the um to the fire.

ah ah One of the things I loved about the the lessons that I learned of the fire is watching Gary watch the clay in the fire.

watching that vessel and him talking to me about, I'm waiting to see when it gets when it gets to this point. And when it gets to this point, I know it's ready. It's strong enough. It's where I need it to be. So, oh, so many lessons. Anyway, that's about what my maker in me is about.

Oh my gosh. and And even that visual of him watching it in the fire was... really just ministering to me in that moment. Cause I've, I've had a lot of, um, fire season written lately where it feels like, Oh, Oh, I'm in the furnace and this is really hot. And I keep asking you to take me out and you're not taking me out. And I know that you're kind. And so help me understand this. Right. Yeah. But Lord, you know everything. every detail. You know what you're working in. it Everything is purposed. Everything is for beauty, for your beauty, that you make them into that holy, beautiful vessel for your honor and glory. And I pray, God, that they're encouraged in this, that you minister to them exactly, individually, uniquely. Give them the people to speak to them the words that they need to hear. When they open your word, Lord, open their hearts to receive the treasure of your word. Lord, whenever they are sleeping at night, give them dreams, Lord, that move them to the next place that you have for them. Lord, we love you and we thank you that you speak to us.
