I mean, i would A, just say, like, just dive in I mean, like, you—I a big— person behind like you learn by doing and I just think that's like a big thing like you just I mean like when I started I just you just have to figure it out but also like again like dive into like education maybe find a wedding coach like someone who's like can help guide you on some of those things that honestly would have made our life a lot easier early on like again like the knowing your numbers like I was so against scaling our business like and having employees. And I just think there's so much that can come from like a wedding business coach that can like open your eyes and like finding different like educational you know seminars or wedding MBA, like stuff that can just help you learn from people that have already done it so you're not like reinventing the wheel.
00:02:01
Speaker
There's so many opportunities out there, um depending on like which industry of like which part of the industry you're interested in. But I would say like we have an internship program, like all florists need freelancers at some point. So like you could, if you're interested interested in the floral industry, like reach out to like some of your favorite florists that you see on Instagram and just say, hey, like I'm Allie and I'd love to help you this season. If you have any like freelancing needs.
00:02:25
Speaker
um I'm new. I've never done this, but i'd love to learn. Like they would probably love to have you. Same with photography. Like a lot of them need second shooters. um I'm sure every other there's a spot for you to learn like in every part of our industry. So and I will like to say, though, we do have an intern program, but our goal.
00:02:45
Speaker
Which might be different from other people like a florist or a DJ and stuff like that because obviously they're one-man show to a certain extent. But like ours, if you intern with us, our hope is that you stay with us.
00:02:56
Speaker
Just to like preface. like we I mean, that's just like our hope is that you like learn what we do and you grow within our company and like become a lead planner with us. Not like... Learn all our tips and tricks and then go start your own thing.
00:03:10
Speaker
But yeah, my little tangent there. Okay.

Memorable Brides

00:03:15
Speaker
What this one we already answered, I guess, in the last episode, but what's the average wedding budget we work with? Yeah, I mean, I would say most our couples are on 50. Like, I would say that's like a common ending point that they get to. Some come with us with like 30 to 40.
00:03:32
Speaker
But I mean, I would say on average, most of our couples spend at least 50. Yeah, pretty average. um The fun one that we got this week was who's our favorite bride? We obviously have to say that it's you, Katie. Katie Kito. You're favorite. You heard it here first. No, I don't know. We have so many. Like, I honestly don't know if I could pick. Like, instantly when that question gets asked, I think of like at least five. that But that's what we always say. Like, we become so close, especially with our planning brides, that like,
00:04:04
Speaker
You know, it's so sad. Like I've literally almost been in tears the last like planning meetings. It's just like or the day of their wedding because you're just like, a you got to know them so well and to see it all come together and they finally get to say I do like it's so amazing, but it's also so sad.
00:04:20
Speaker
And we always say like, let's stay in touch. But it's like there's just no sadly there's no way. but Some of my good friends have been my brides. but I mean, like one. Kayla, Becca. But yeah, it does happen. But you knew them before.
00:04:35
Speaker
I mean, want it back you knew Becca before. But anyway, I mean, but it's like but it's different. Like I do like 20 planning. I mean, I do a lot more yeah personally. So it's like I love my brides and I want to. We always joke like let's get like let's get a beer, like no more coffee. Like we can actually, but it's, I don't know. And maybe I just need to make a better effort of.
00:04:55
Speaker
because there's a lot of them that I love. But I mean, again, i could say five to ten right now that I love and I wish I saw. and know. It's so fun. The life is crazy. The fun part of our job.

Experience and Reach

00:05:05
Speaker
um How many weddings have we planned?
00:05:11
Speaker
rough numbers. We should keep a real tally someday. We'll count it up. I mean, i bet you at least 250. Yeah. yeah I mean, because we've done it for seven years. we're i mean, going into the a I mean, we had...
00:05:25
Speaker
I don't know. Like we have 29 this year. We had 29 last year. We had 50 there before the years before that. It's all blends together. So, yeah, I mean, I bet you were at least close to three. Yeah.
00:05:37
Speaker
Which is really cool. So cool. Do we do weddings outside of Boise? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, most of our weddings, I would say, are in the Treasure Valley.
00:05:48
Speaker
But like Ali has mentioned before, like we do Sun Valley, McCall. We've done like, was it Ashley, Idaho? Yeah. Ashton. Ash. Yeah. Yeah. Up by Yellowstone. Yeah. We've done Yellowstone. We've done Swan Falls. We've done Driggs.
00:06:03
Speaker
I think so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We've done some. We're happy to travel. We'd love to go. We still, and maybe if we put this out there, it'll happen. we i've If someone were to get married in like Hawaii.
00:06:15
Speaker
Mexico. Mexico. Like we we, which we had one that I thought was going to work out, but now it's not like we'll do it for free if you pay for our flights and our hotel. Like, I think it'd be so fun to experience that.
00:06:26
Speaker
Yeah. Travel wedding planners. We're happy to do it. Heck yeah.

Exclusive Services and Logistics

00:06:29
Speaker
Do we have any rentals? Yes. Too many in my opinion. Just kidding.
00:06:37
Speaker
Amy's in charge of our rentals, which we've talked about her a little. Amy's our other owner. She's my mom and she loves our rentals. And I have to tell her a lot of times to stop buying more. But we do more like the smaller rentals. Like we have like...
00:06:54
Speaker
Chargers, um votives. trying to think. but I mean, we have so much. Like card boxes, easels. Mirrors. Some escort walls. Yeah. I mean, like some of that stuff, we don't do like larger things like furniture. Even though now we have a mirror that probably weighs 500 pounds or something.
00:07:16
Speaker
But yeah, so we do some rentals and we try to keep it pretty affordable and we only rent them to our couples. so you can't, if you don't hire us for coordinating or planning, you can't have access to our rentals. And i think, a that's a control thing.
00:07:31
Speaker
I just, we've seen what happens to some rentals and I just, I like us having, being the ones that are bringing it, setting it up, tearing it down, making sure it's safe. Like,
00:07:42
Speaker
And I just like that it's something that we do exclusively for our couples and it's like they're pretty cheap for the most part. So. Yeah. We try to make it affordable. Yeah. What's the average planning timeline?
00:07:57
Speaker
Like planning their wedding timeline? Yeah. I guess. I mean, i would say most couples that book us for planning hire us a year out at least. We have a couple that are have booked us for 2027 already.
00:08:11
Speaker
so we're obviously, ah i mean, they booked us like a couple months ago. so a little over a year. Yeah, like sometimes it's like 18 months. I mean, it's been an interesting shift because...
00:08:22
Speaker
Before the last couple years, I would have said like we wouldn't start working with a couple until a year out. But now it's like, you know, this my 2027 couples like ones. We just book a venue, honestly, to actually today and they're not getting married till September 2027. But like the fact that venues are already getting booked up for that.
00:08:41
Speaker
is like wild. So it's like humber we have to start and like, you know, and vendors are opening their books up earlier. That's it's just tricky because some ven vendors don't open their books until a year out, but some like will open them a little further out. So that's like where it just gets a little tricky.
00:08:57
Speaker
Yeah. This is a book super far in advance. or so Yeah. Some people that you just can't. but Yeah. So, i mean, I think on average it's a year out, but especially if they already have their venue booked. Yeah. Like we typically can do the rest within here. But yeah, we've done like four months. It's not fun for anyone. It's stressful. Yeah, but we can do it. But yeah, I think the longer like we talked about the longer, the better for your guests sake so they can plan on like if you have out ah out of towners like there's so many logistics to think about when you're planning that aren't just like vendor availability but it's like lifestyle and when you're gonna send your save the dates like so people because some people want to say their save dates at a year out yeah because they have so many people that don't live here that are like east coasters that like it would be really expensive if they didn't book their flights like a year in advance right different things like that so it's hard
00:09:49
Speaker
Right. Is that it? That's it. Oh, those are our questions. up easy Easy. Easy. And just any that you have, we're happy to answer. All right. Cheers. Cheers.
