Speaker: Sunday, Sunday! you ready for the highest and fastest coaster in the world? Are you ready for... This are island dares you to come face to face with the beast.
Speaker: The beast. 7,000 feet. You um
Speaker: hear my voice. The Loch Ness Monster. It's Andy Can Andy.
Speaker: Oh, no. Mr. Pop. Ready to go.
Speaker: All riders waiting and on top of the tractor, we are currently experiencing a mechanical issue and we do not know the length of the delay. Once again, are seeing... And welcome back to the Single Rider Line.
Speaker: i am your host, Lance, currently in line for a broken down Banshee at Kings Island Passholder Preview Day. It is windy as hell out here. We're going to see...
Speaker: if this fucks up the audio or not and I'm even gonna be able to post this or if I'm gonna have to re-record this here in about 15 minutes. So I'm gonna make a little cut here and if this continues or you hear the rest of this, you'll ah you'll know. So one sec.
Speaker: um And with the magic of editing, we're back. It did not fuck up the audio. I just listened back to it real quick. Sounds good. Good to have you guys. This will be probably a shorter episode because I'm recording this literally in line talking into my phone.
Speaker: I look pretty fucking ridiculous right now, but you know, cares? Who cares? ah We'll start off the day. Got here around 10 or so. Park opened at noon and there was already a massive line.
Speaker: Got to meet Cube Thrills in person. Really cool dude. Glad I was able to run into you. On complete accident, like this was not planned in the slightest.
Speaker: um Yeah, so new stuff. If you're looking for new stuff here this year, you're not going to find a whole lot of it. Skyflyer, my beloved, is gone. It's kind of weird not seeing it here, but it also...
Speaker: looks a lot better if we're being honest. It was a giant metal arch and didn't really fit the section of the park it was in. So hopefully whatever replaces it is something pretty cool.
Speaker: um that Trying to think what else is new. The Beast got about 20% of it retracted. A lot of the trims have been removed. Not all of the trims, but a lot of them.
Speaker: The trims dropping into the valley just after the first drop have a have been removed and then the ones going into the double helix on that second drop have been removed as well.
Speaker: So good to see, it rides pretty good still. I mean, Kings Island is gonna do everything in their power to make sure that this ride stays around till the end of time.
Speaker: that also That whole coaster could burn down, they would rebuild it piece by piece, I feel like.
Speaker: But I thought... still Still waiting on Banshee. We're moving a little bit, though. People are leaving, going to other rides. and i don't blame them. It's a fucking madhouse here.
Speaker: We have the entire population of Cincinnati and Kentucky all all here today, it feels like. Diamondback is running two trains for no particular reason. I'm guessing it's because it's waiting on a part.
Speaker: Because everything else is three trains. Orion is three trains. Banshee is three trains. Beast three trains. I haven't checked Mystic. I'd be surprised if that wasn't three trains. So whatever is happening there.
Speaker: Are we going to see an evac on Banshee? I'm watching the supervisors talking to the people in line or on the yeah on the train right now. And wall we'll see we'll see what happens.
Speaker: So I will keep you posted as this recording goes on. I have only been to get three rides today. Orion, Flight of Fear, and The Beast.
Speaker: Orion still has its classic rattle, just like every other B&M here, it feels like. Just B&Ms in general. Specifically here, though.
Speaker: What is it with the B&Ms having a... or just the coasters here in general feeling so much rougher than at other parks like raptor rides perfectly fine but for some reason banshee has well it's a better overall ride it has a like just a slight rattle to it and i don't i do not understand nope i gotta like watch my surroundings i don't want actually bump into somebody um um But I don't know. I've heard theories that it's the land that it's sitting on.
Speaker: I don't know that for a fact though. like that Like the ground is softer or something. i I don't know. And I'm looking over at Orion right now.
Speaker: Is that an empty train on Orion? That's an empty train. on So Orion's down now too. Because unless I'm blind, that's an empty train.
Speaker: So Orion's down, Banshee's down. The app probably five minutes ago said that Mystic was down. So we' we have a real great start here to pass holder preview game.
Speaker: I don't know if it's a win thing or what exactly is happening, but let's pray opening day tomorrow is not like this because this is already a madhouse. So lines for food are long, lines for drinks are long.
Speaker: It's what you come to expect with any park opening day. But, i you know, it's not like this all season. We're going to have plenty of days here where it's dead and stuff to walk on. So I'll be here until 9 when the park closes.
Speaker: If you see me, come say hi. If this even goes up prior to me leaving the park. But, yeah, it's still a good day. At least the weather is beautiful. It's like 80 degrees sunny.
Speaker: It does not feel like spring. feels like summer. It feels good. Wearing a t-shirt and shorts for the first time in probably a month. but We had a short warm spell here in Ohio for... It was it was back in March. It hit the 70s.
Speaker: And everybody lost their minds because it was so nice. And then it went away. And this this upcoming week is supposed to be pretty warm. So hopefully we can enjoy that. The weekend after is supposed to get kind of chilly again. But what am I going to do about it? So I will keep you guys posted.
Speaker: I don't know how long this recording is really going to be. Not very long at all. It's going to be, what, seven minutes, if that, once this is all said and done. So I don't really have any material in my Oh, Invertigo just just got updated. Invertigo is down due to wind right now as well.
Speaker: So it talk about an amazing pass on our preview.
Speaker: Oh, hey, Banshee's sending the train. Hopefully. let the crowd speak for themselves on that one.
Speaker: Hopefully that came through. But ti are we moving? No, hey, nobody got evac'd. Congrats.
Speaker: But are they going to start sending people is the question, though. Because an empty train means jack shit.
Speaker: It could very well just be getting people off to then run some more empty trains. well We'll find out here shortly.
Speaker: But yeah, there's not really a whole lot new here this year. i mean, we got a new water slide, but that's not open yet. And my my guess is the next two to three years, we'll see a lot more movement in the park. We got a new family thrill ride coming, whatever that may be.
Speaker: Hopefully it's not something lame. And we still don't have a vortex replacement six years later. So, ah Richard Zimmerman, we're still waiting on that.
Speaker: Come on, man. get your get you get Get your people out here. Get us a new Vekoma, and we'll be happy. Or a new Intimate. I'll take a new Intimate, too.
Speaker: This audio is probably going to be shit, but thank you so much for listening. Thank you guys for listening to me rambling into a microphone while in line for a B&M for the past... eight minutes going it'll probably be around nine or ten once I edit this and throw the throw the intro music on here this is probably gonna count for into this week's episode because i have an idea for for next week but I don't really have time to record this week this weekend and work has been ridiculous I worked I forget exactly how many I believe 13 hours of overtime
Speaker: this past week. So these past two weeks in this pay period, whatever, you know what I mean? Um, so I've not particularly had time to record, record recently. So it was good talking to you guys and we are not in the single rider line, but we'll still see you next time.
Speaker: See ya.
