Championship Action Returns

00:00:13
DailySaintsPod
Hello and welcome back to the Daily Saints pod. My name is Greg and as always today joined by my good friend and wonderful co-host Zach. And mate, Championship Action Returns. How excited are we
00:00:27
Zak
Well, considering we just beat Premier League opposition, should be easy to beat. First from languishing down near the relegation zone.
00:00:39
DailySaintsPod
Anyway.
00:00:40
Zak
Right, question mark? Right?
00:00:43
DailySaintsPod
Well, mate, as you so frequently like to remind me, nothing can be taken for granted in this league.
00:00:50
Zak
Nah, it's getting into my head. yeah No, it's my head

Impact of Unbeaten Streak

00:00:55
Zak
plate. Sorry.
00:00:55
DailySaintsPod
Ten games unbeaten, though. it's It's good signs, good stuff.
00:00:57
Zak
no no
00:01:00
DailySaintsPod
as we alluded to in the post-match from Fulham. Hard to see us losing ever again, honestly. It's just feeling riding the high, riding that confidence into the game and you know against an opposition who couldn't be in more opposite to that form if they tried.
00:01:22
Zak
And, you know, they've they've lost three of their past four home league games against us, mate. we've had to double over the last two seasons we've played with them.
00:01:28
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Yeah.
00:01:32
Zak
I think the last time we lost was 2021. We drew, obviously, the first leg of the championship. So, we found a playoff. We all know what happens, the second leg, right?
00:01:43
Zak
Which was good fun.
00:01:43
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:01:44
Zak
yeah.
00:01:45
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, although look you can't come take that result into too much consideration.
00:01:45
Zak
yeah yeah
00:01:48
DailySaintsPod
The atmosphere alone of that evening had to play place something into the the hands of that for sure.
00:01:54
Zak
Yeah, but like my point, yeah, but like, even though it was a hard-fought victory this season, right?
00:01:55
DailySaintsPod
but
00:02:01
Zak
Like, they they put the fear into it, kind of made us change the tactic of we can't just entirely rely on battering a team in the first half.
00:02:02
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:02:10
Zak
So, if anything, it was a good lesson to get us where we are. But it is is difficult to not go into this game being overtly positive in comparison to where West Brom are and how we're doing, right?
00:02:24
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, for sure. Yeah, definitely.
00:02:26
Zak
And like they've not won at home so far this year.
00:02:31
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:02:32
Zak
So that's like all the signs point to either an absolutely resounding victory or they pip us 1-0 and we go back to the throwable.
00:02:32
DailySaintsPod
it's Look, I mean, it's... Yeah. Yeah.
00:02:40
DailySaintsPod
That's the thing, right? I mean, other points in this season, we'd be looking at all of these things and thinking about it and going, this sounds exactly like the sort of streak that we like to break. But you're right. It's the current run we're in. it's And the current mentality that we're playing with.
00:02:59
DailySaintsPod
it's It's very difficult to see us doing anything other than... pretty comfortably putting them away. And, you know, I'm sure that we'll see some rotation because we played a strong team against Fulham the weekend and we've got Coventry up next, which is always going to be kind of in the back of the mind.
00:03:16
Zak
Yeah.
00:03:21
DailySaintsPod
You know, first of all, that's going to be a tough game because of their position in the league and the quality they have, but also... you know that there's going be a bit of needle after it all kicking off at St Mary's.
00:03:33
DailySaintsPod
you know, we're going to want to show up for that. And so you've got to think that this might be the game we see some of that rotation.

Maintaining Focus and Avoiding Complacency

00:03:41
DailySaintsPod
And it's just important not to take it not to take it for granted, right? And still go in with that mentality and do enough to put it away. That's that's my only concern, really.
00:03:52
Zak
Yeah, I think that that seems to be the mentality that's currently in the squad. The only thing that I would be worried about is, you know, okay, we're playing to win no matter what.
00:04:05
Zak
human human bodies don't always answer to just will alone, right? And I'm honestly surprised we aren't in as many injury issues as lot of the other clubs are.
00:04:18
Zak
We don't have as many. And again, it's throwing back to what talking about in our match review. it does feel like we're one or two injuries away from a crisis. And, you know, we played pretty much a full strength squad. So yeah, I'd expect some rotation, but like you've also pointed out, you can't treat this game as just, oh, we've won.

Team Strategy: Rotation vs. Consistency

00:04:37
Zak
So we're still going to need to go in with a strong side. And it's just going to be like, wow. who's still it in them to push through until he can maybe get at least a week off or whatever when the international break is.
00:04:49
Zak
And even for them, there's quite a few players that probably are not getting a week off.
00:04:50
DailySaintsPod
yeah.
00:04:53
Zak
So,
00:04:53
DailySaintsPod
yeah
00:04:55
Zak
Yeah.
00:04:55
DailySaintsPod
And and you look you alluded to it earlier in the episode, that it was kind of good for our season overall and sort of gave us the the knock in our boots that we're not actually just going to be able to like run teams over in the first half and then see it out in the second half in our game against West Brom earlier in the season. But I actually think it it benefits us directly coming into this game as well because, you know, had it had it been that comfortable 3-0 that it was at half-time all the way to the end,
00:05:25
DailySaintsPod
you know, that that almost increases the concern of that complacency kind of creeping in, right? And it being like, wow, we batted this lot last time, so we should again. But actually, they gave us good go at St. Mary's, and and that that won't that won't dissipate, right? that was It was recent enough that...
00:05:47
DailySaintsPod
you know, only back in the start of December, is going to be in the memory still. So, yeah, I think i think there's a good chance we we go and do a good job against it. Obviously, yeah we talked about earlier in the week, exciting for me in particular, because, you know, my kids' first away games, they are are both very excited.
00:06:01
Zak
Yeah.
00:06:08
DailySaintsPod
to to be heading down to, admittedly, a fairly familiar ground. as A ground we've been to a couple of times to to watch West Brom in the past with with my brother-in-law. butt But from the you know the other end of the turnstile, in the away end, it's it's exciting. And a game that... My son's rolling prediction of 5-0.
00:06:31
DailySaintsPod
I mean, it's not outside the realms of possibility, right? LAUGHTER
00:06:35
Zak
Yeah, this is the thing. Do we do we kind of go with this mentality of, man, it's so great to be a Saints fan right now, or or do we know be a bit more reserved about it? it and It's difficult because you probably could predict something like that, but and I don't know.
00:06:52
Zak
Would Bryce probably be looking for a bit of a reaction after being booed multiple times? how How mentally spent are they after having...
00:07:02
Zak
random MLS manager, rock up, make everything worse, leave. And, you know, they they didn't do too well in the games afterwards. But you've got think, yeah, it's still, you could have wounded animal syndrome, right?
00:07:16
Zak
Like, you still could have someone that decides to fight back and, you know, what a statement would be to beat the team that's probably at the top of the fourth table and
00:07:17
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:07:26
Zak
Yeah, I'd like to i'd like agree with you.
00:07:27
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I mean, there's there's a lot of that about it, right?
00:07:29
Zak
It's where I'm at. I am also, as much as I try to purge me of my by worries, it just doesn't happen, does it?
00:07:34
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:07:39
DailySaintsPod
the the you know, that like there's, there's a lot of that about, about this as well and about that fixture. And, you know, football tends to be a fairly poetic sport and loves to build a narrative.
00:07:49
DailySaintsPod
And there's plenty of narratives that could sort of go in that direction. Obviously, you know, club, club legend taking charge.
00:07:55
Zak
Greg, all I can think of...
00:07:59
DailySaintsPod
Right. Yeah.
00:08:00
Zak
Greg, all I can think of is when the media team put out the Southampton vs Watford. It's got history.
00:08:11
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. All right.
00:08:13
Zak
Because it's very much like, i know that I know what you're saying, and you're right, anyone can spin a narrative. But also, it's more of a narrative in my mind for your family and you than it is for realistically us versus Westport.
00:08:19
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:08:24
DailySaintsPod
I know, but I mean, from from like the West Brom perspective, right, it's, you know, they're... Interim manager, you know, sort of club legend. It's his first game in charge at home in this stint as interim manager.
00:08:39
DailySaintsPod
And that, you know, has its way of of coming into the equation. And of course, they've hired Matt Gill to their backroom staff, who obviously is the assistant manager to Russell Martin for us and then for Rangers as well.
00:08:49
Zak
They have. saw
00:08:56
Zak
that. Didn't as well that.
00:08:57
DailySaintsPod
which, you know, is is another piece of, you know, football poetry, if you will, that's that's there to be picked at and potentially sort of weave its way into the tale, but...
00:09:08
DailySaintsPod
No, I think it all taking it all into consideration, a game where I think we will still be coming away with a victory, just maybe not the kind of high-scoring escapades we've seen for of midweek games recent memory,

Predictions and Performance Outlook

00:09:25
DailySaintsPod
right? Just solid solid performance to push it over the line, but...
00:09:32
DailySaintsPod
but Yeah, I mean, let let's get into to the predicted team lineups and see how we think those rotations are going to take shape. no No press conference information for us, not really through fault of Tonda on this occasion. We're we're taking an early recording to accommodate for my travel plans. But, you know, all...
00:09:53
DailySaintsPod
all being well and good, how do you see it lining up and and coming back? Obviously, Perrette's first name on the team sheet no longer a point of discussion as it was earlier in the season.
00:10:05
DailySaintsPod
But do you think Stevens comes back in? Yeah, think that he'd...
00:10:09
Zak
Yeah, I'd say so. i think the only reason he was out the weekend was to probably save him for this period of time.
00:10:15
DailySaintsPod
No, no.
00:10:17
Zak
Well, we did anything wrong, to be c clear.
00:10:19
DailySaintsPod
no
00:10:20
Zak
I just think that, you know, club captain playing well, good partnership with Taylor Holt, OG mixed that up, right?
00:10:20
DailySaintsPod
man
00:10:22
DailySaintsPod
yeah Yeah, I think I think i heard that there was some some kind of scan or something for Stevens slightly earlier a couple of weeks ago.
00:10:28
Zak
game we We still need to make sure we're winning.
00:10:39
DailySaintsPod
So maybe just like resting him based off of that with the the aim to bring him back in. But yeah, i would... don't expect to see him come back in, but you're right. Even if if not, if Wood did enough, more than enough in that game to to prove to me that that his name in the squad would would still bring that same confidence right that we'd carry in.
00:11:05
DailySaintsPod
james bree of course i mean look harvard bellis played a uh an excellent game against fulham uh truly deserving of the the captain's armband he took through that game we didn't even really touch upon that in the review but he was you know a excellent throughout
00:11:18
Zak
Yep.
00:11:20
Zak
No, because
00:11:24
DailySaintsPod
So is is for me, obviously, on this predicted lineup and and James Bree the same, right? yeah The two names that have probably bedded themselves into this like proper starting 11 and made themselves really important.
00:11:38
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, all right, And then Manning on the left, or do you think we maybe see Yeller come in and get some minutes?
00:11:47
Zak
I just don't think they'd switch out Manning at this point, right? Like, I just, I think if he's playing right and he can play, why would you want to mix that up?
00:11:51
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:11:56
Zak
For for me, it would almost feel like taking him out and putting in Jell-O would be like sort of the rotation I'd have expected to have seen in the FA Cup game, if I'm totally honest.
00:12:08
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, but I mean, what I'm i'm thinking andm thinking, is this the game that we're aiming that kind of rotation towards, right? If if Manning's the clearly first choice fullback, are we going to be saving him? Is he got 270 minutes of playing him across a seven-day period?
00:12:25
DailySaintsPod
Or six days even, because it's what, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday?
00:12:29
DailySaintsPod
is is you know Is three full games something he's got in in his legs?
00:12:30
Zak
Yeah.
00:12:33
DailySaintsPod
I don't know if the answer to that is is yes or no, to be honest. it's Is this game you're rotating for or do you sort of play him and risk being forced into that decision at the weekend?
00:12:47
Zak
And this is where I guess the depth issue we have comes out in full force. So I think that if he's okay, they'll play him. That's what I think.
00:12:57
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:12:58
Zak
And if he's still okay at the weekend, they'll play him at the weekend as well until Wellington time.
00:12:58
DailySaintsPod
No.
00:13:01
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, look, I think you're right.
00:13:03
Zak
So...
00:13:04
DailySaintsPod
I think Tonda's shown frequently that he doesn't like to tinker with it too much for the sake of rotation, really. Try and keep a winning team and keep what's working. And yeah, I think you're right. Midfield, then.
00:13:19
DailySaintsPod
A position we're sort of perpetually comfortable with at the moment. We've got, what, five choices for those two spots in the middle of the park.
00:13:23
Zak
Yeah.
00:13:26
DailySaintsPod
And I think routinely we kind of say that any combination, any two of those five is is a combination we're happy with to do the job and and get over.
00:13:38
DailySaintsPod
But which two do you see coming into the mix on Wednesday? Obviously, we had Downs and Yander at the...
00:13:43
Zak
Downs and shelves.
00:13:47
DailySaintsPod
All right, Downs and Charles.
00:13:48
Zak
There you go.
00:13:48
DailySaintsPod
Interesting.
00:13:49
Zak
That's kind of what I'm at.
00:13:49
DailySaintsPod
no have we Have we seen those two play together under record much?
00:13:57
Zak
Yeah?
00:13:59
DailySaintsPod
Because I know at the start of the season we we were talking about how some of the struggles we were having were maybe that they were sort of too similar in role.
00:13:59
Zak
Let's try that we have.
00:14:10
DailySaintsPod
But I wondered if... I wasn't entirely sure.
00:14:12
Zak
don't know. I'm not entirely... but don't know how much I agree with that anymore. You know, they he's played Charles in more forward positions since then, and he's done a right in those positions.
00:14:16
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:14:20
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, i agree completely.
00:14:21
Zak
So...
00:14:21
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:14:22
Zak
shows That shows you kind of how our favourite some players were when we were talking about how, you know, Charles was being part their over a re-bow.
00:14:26
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:14:29
Zak
Naturally, that was supposed to be his position despite the fact that he was playing in all sorts of positions last season. So, yeah, I don't really think that's much of a problem.
00:14:38
DailySaintsPod
and And to be fair, some of those issues would have come about because of the back three shape and the kind of difference in space that creates.
00:14:43
Zak
Yeah.
00:14:45
DailySaintsPod
But yeah.
00:14:45
Zak
So, yeah, I don't don't think that would be a problem. And I actually think it's, you know, I think it's probably... but The pun's hard, again. Depends how much credence you put into the whole rumours around Gander, whether or not he's having a bit of a funny five minutes. And if if he's having funny five minutes, are they going to do...
00:15:04
Zak
the whole, well, we'll show confidence throw him out into the game again, which, you has done that with Archer a few times, but also if it doesn't improve at that point, you just get up, right?
00:15:07
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:15:15
Zak
And we know that both Charles and Downs are consistent performance matter what. It doesn't really seem to be a thing that's changed. therefore everything down has just gotten better. The only reason I would expect them maybe not to see Downs is because of this whole pro-car thing that's overhanging.
00:15:30
Zak
So potentially you might see Charles and Yander, but that's pretty much where my headspace is at on the build.
00:15:30
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:15:38
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, no, I tend to agree with that. Yeah, right. I think the only reason we might see Downs rotated is that I think it's the Coventry game that is the last game before the the kind of card amnesty, I think.
00:15:53
Zak
Mm-hmm.
00:15:54
DailySaintsPod
so So if he can not get booked on Wednesday and not get booked against Coventry, then when sort of dodges those suspension parts, but...
00:16:06
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I don't know. But yeah, like you even then, Cam Bragg, if he's brought in, more than happy with that. like any Any of those players in that position, any kind of rotation that we see, it's not going to cause concern.
00:16:21
DailySaintsPod
But you're right, I think probably see Charles come in and interestingly, wasn't in the squad at all in the FA Cup, Charles. So, hoping that was just saving him for it more than
00:16:31
Zak
Yeah, but I don't think there was anything to to say injury, right, to my knowledge.
00:16:37
DailySaintsPod
No, I didn't see anything.
00:16:39
Zak
think it was literally just...
00:16:39
DailySaintsPod
just Just saving him. Saving him and his legs to for the this game, hopefully. And then, what? Moving forward up the line to the the kind of attacking four. don't know.
00:16:58
DailySaintsPod
Fellows do enough to keep his place, do you think? Or do you bring Matski back in?
00:17:03
Zak
I would bring Matzki back in. I know that I'm biased. and However, Fellowes up against his former team might add a little bit of fire to it.
00:17:10
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. You talk about narratives in football that want to play themselves out and it feels like it would be a fitting place.
00:17:18
Zak
Greg, he's not going to score. He's not going to score a goal.
00:17:19
DailySaintsPod
It would be a fitting place for Tom Fellows to get his first goal in a Saints shirt, wouldn't it?
00:17:24
Zak
Fellowes doesn't score goals. That's just not his thing, Greg. I'm sorry.
00:17:30
DailySaintsPod
Finnazaz, you know, I thought he was excellent against Fulham.
00:17:33
Zak
Yeah, I thought he had a really good game.
00:17:34
DailySaintsPod
Got to stay there for me. Leo, obviously.
00:17:40
Zak
If he's not completely clad to the ground and but he can still manage it, because he is getting surprised.
00:17:45
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:17:48
Zak
He still still hasn't picked up i another longer-term injury, considering how often the man is brought down.
00:17:51
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Same kind of thoughts that I had on Manning for me is that whilst I think they'll probably start him if he's fit and ready to go. Maybe if if there's any question, it'll be a case of letting him come on off the bench for a short game and saving saving that start that's in his legs for for Coventry on on Saturday.
00:18:15
DailySaintsPod
Uh, but, but I mean, a dozy sort of shown that he's pretty capable coming into that role. Also quite explosive and a handful for, for the opposite number to, to defend against, still not seen any of that end product from him. But, uh, to be fair, he's not had the, the most opportunity to sort of get there and show that, that that part of his games come in as he, so,
00:18:40
Zak
Yeah. So yeah, not really, yeah it's not like last time he was featuring prominently with the end product.
00:18:51
Zak
and I don't think it's as reliant on that now because of the other places we are able to produce goals from, right? And i don't think it's as much of an issue.
00:18:58
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:19:01
Zak
Yes, it would be a lovely addition, but I am perfectly capable and fine with him being able to get the ball into those areas and someone else put it away. than when you know that was significantly more important, where we'd spent 95 minutes a game doing build-up to be able to shoot and score, and then it mattered, because if he missed, that was it.
00:19:23
Zak
Whereas I think we're just it justs doing a bit more so this this season, in my opinion, so I don't think it's as much of a problem if he doesn't have that end product.
00:19:28
DailySaintsPod
yeah
00:19:33
Zak
That's just my personal opinion it anyway.
00:19:35
DailySaintsPod
No, no, I think he'd be fine. And maybe a start against a team that are going to be lacking in confidence against a fullback that's not going to like the idea of someone with the pace and footwork of Sammy running at him.
00:19:50
DailySaintsPod
We're doing the world of good, right? Maybe that's exactly what he's needed to kind of get that over the line and push on. The biggest question mark for me in the the team Ross Stewart or Carl Larry, mate?
00:20:05
Zak
Well, I think they rested Stewart. He had that sort of little bit of injury.
00:20:10
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:20:12
Zak
came on as a sub. Laren played really well still. I think maybe if Stewart has got an inning, you start him and maybe swap him with Laren at half-time. Yeah, that's kind of where we're at. I think Laren's still got the legs in him, maybe, to probably play again.
00:20:32
Zak
I'm just kind of very worried about Ross Stewart being overplayed with the issues that he's had, right?
00:20:32
DailySaintsPod
Hmm.
00:20:38
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:20:39
Zak
that's That's pretty much it. I thought I would probably start him, but...
00:20:44
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. I know.
00:20:45
Zak
i

DailySaintsPod
I, I, I kind of feel like, I feel like they've teed it up for Stuart to start and kind of manage his minutes that way.
00:20:55
Zak
Mm-hmm.
00:20:57
DailySaintsPod
But honestly, I think think I'm happy either way. What Lahren brings, I think he was really, really good against Fulham. And, you know, said it time and time again, he might not have scored in his last two appearances, which is, you know, crazy, crazy for a striker to have not scored. But but what he does off the ball is is excellent. And... you know His hold-up play is really good, which is probably going to prove to be important. you know West Brom have a couple of big centre-backs to handle. So, yeah it'll be fine either way. And if Stewart is fit and wants to come on, we know what kind of a threat he is on the pitch.
00:21:44
DailySaintsPod
He's going to be putting himself about and... Yeah, I'm confident with whoever we put in that position and what a nice position to be in.
00:21:53
Zak
Yes.
00:21:55
DailySaintsPod
i mean, I guess in in the way I phrased the question, it was one of those two, but are we completely written off to not expect Cameron Archer at this point? was it was Was it remiss of me to to leave his name out of the mix?
00:22:10
Zak
No. eleven I think he might at some point come on for Finnazas.
00:22:18
Zak
I just don't think that...
00:22:18
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:22:20
Zak
which He just doesn't suit the style of play we currently are doing. And the opportunities when he has been given it, he's not taken. And that might be due to the fact that they're trying to treat him like the other striker, which is why they're trying to move him...
00:22:33
Zak
into that number 10 role. And if you, if that is basically what we're saying his position is with Jay Robinson, I still have an injury, then the only person that he's going to replace is Fina Zas.
00:22:46
Zak
And currently Fina Zas is above him in the pecking order. So but that's, that's just where I'm at with what seems to be, what seems to be the current or trend in the team.
00:22:50
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, I mean substantially.
00:22:55
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:22:57
Zak
I think, you know, he still potentially can have a part to play. And I think it's probably difficult to adjust that. But if your record, if Stewart and Lahren can play, are you putting in Cam Archer over him?
00:23:14
Zak
No.
00:23:14
DailySaintsPod
No. I'm picking either of them. Even if you have to split it 45 minutes a piece, either way, that's what I'd be doing. You know, if you know both of them only have 45 minutes of running in them and that's what you have to do, that's that's fine.
00:23:31
DailySaintsPod
I don't have a problem with that in the slightest. But yeah, that's and that yeah that's that's it for me. i think that we'll... you know, we'll be looking to take it to 11 games unbeaten, right?
00:23:44
DailySaintsPod
We're not going to be, we're not going to be trying to mess around with it.
00:23:45
Zak
yeah
00:23:48
DailySaintsPod
We're going to come out to win and that's what, what's going to hopefully take place. But,
00:23:52
Zak
the We got to win, carry on at the table, break some further, and hopefully we keep winning. That's what we've got there
00:23:58
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, that's it, mate. Well, let's have a little look at

Historical vs. Current Form Analysis

00:24:02
DailySaintsPod
the little summary of the stats I like to look at. Historically, you say earlier, a good fixture for us of the last 20 games we've played against West Brom. 12 have been wins, five losses, three draws.
00:24:17
DailySaintsPod
So, you know, historic odds very much in our favour. Recent form, of course, also very much in our favour. So many green Ws in our overall form.
00:24:29
DailySaintsPod
Four wins and a draw from our last five league games. West Brom, on the other hand, three draws, two losses in their last five overall league games.
00:24:41
DailySaintsPod
Three losses at home in their last five home games. Just... Just nothing good. You know, they got beat 5-0 by Norwich at the Hawthorns.
00:24:51
DailySaintsPod
They got beat 2-0 by Coventry. Yeah, just not a good time to be a Baggies fan. And I think we'll be looking to add to that misery to be honest. The overall summary and prediction, though, goes for... You won't believe it.
00:25:12
DailySaintsPod
It's Southampton to win both teams to score, yes, and over two and a half goals with a likely outcome, a 2-1.
00:25:19
Zak
Whoa, are you saying that they are once again predicting a 2-1, Greg?
00:25:20
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. Crazy.
00:25:24
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. crazy
00:25:25
Zak
crazy stats from this robot that seems to predict the same thing every week.
00:25:33
DailySaintsPod
But, yeah, it's, yeah, it it points out that RXG is substantially higher than theirs.
00:25:45
Zak
Okay. 3-0.
00:25:48
DailySaintsPod
But what about you, mate? How do you feel? How do you think it's going to play out?
00:25:53
Zak
know
00:25:55
DailySaintsPod
Yeah?
00:25:56
Zak
Yeah, that's what I'd like to.
00:25:56
DailySaintsPod
where Where are those goals coming from?
00:25:58
Zak
I want Tom Pelo score because I don't think I've ever predicted him score, so maybe I break the curse. I would like Karl Lahren to score so people don't get weird about the fact that he hasn't scored goals in a few games.
00:26:14
Zak
And
00:26:17
Zak
maybe a dozy when he comes on? That would be really cool. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if those will be right in the slightest. I'd like to see, that's that's what I would like to see happen.
00:26:29
DailySaintsPod
But, yeah.
00:26:29
Zak
A lot second half goals there for me, but you know, it's fine.
00:26:32
DailySaintsPod
I like it. I like it. It's good. It's good. Fair enough. What do I think? I think... I think that West Brom are going to what they're coming up against. You know, it's not no secret the form they're in, the form we're on. I think because of that, they're going try and make it very difficult to play against them and play in this kind of low block...
00:26:58
DailySaintsPod
style that we're not particularly good at breaking down and playing against, which is going to make for you know potentially painful watching. But I think we're still going to be good enough to go and put it away. i just think it's going to be hard work. I'm thinking 2-0.
00:27:17
Zak
Really interesting.
00:27:18
DailySaintsPod
Yeah.
00:27:18
Zak
I like your opening ahead of you. That's, I feel too optimistic.
00:27:21
DailySaintsPod
don't know.
00:27:23
Zak
I revise it to one.
00:27:24
DailySaintsPod
No, look, i'm I'm still optimistic that we're going to create chances and and comfortably win.
00:27:32
Zak
I get you.
00:27:33
DailySaintsPod
I just think that they're going to be setting out to make it difficult.
00:27:36
Zak
You think they're play you for the draw?
00:27:39
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, 100%. hundred percent Yeah, they're going to be trying to not get beat at home. is That's priority one, right? So...
00:27:49
Zak
Yeah, I guess that's the case.
00:27:53
Zak
Though I don't think it think just a draw does it for a mate, if I'm totally honest.
00:27:53
DailySaintsPod
And... Yeah, but
00:27:57
DailySaintsPod
No.
00:27:58
Zak
They need to they desperately need to win.
00:28:00
DailySaintsPod
Yeah, very much so. Very much so. But yeah, I think 2-0. I think we'll still have enough to put them away, put it over the line. And let's have let's have a goal for Ross Stewart and a goal for Cole Lahren, both forward scoring.
00:28:08
Zak
Cool.
00:28:13
DailySaintsPod
That'd be nice, wouldn't
00:28:13
Zak
OK, that'd be cool. like that.
00:28:15
DailySaintsPod
after you know After a couple of weeks of goals being spread around and everyone having a bit of a go, just just the strikers putting in away their chances, one each, what more can you ask for?
00:28:26
DailySaintsPod
Lovely away game. Lovely drive home feeling much better about life, you know?
00:28:32
Zak
Happy days, mate.
00:28:33
DailySaintsPod
Yeah. But yeah, that's it. That's that's what we think. But let us know in the comments on the socials. How do you think it's going to go? What do you think the score

DailySaintsPod
