Introduction and Podcast Overview

00:00:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to the Daily Newcastle podcast. I don't think I'm ever going to get used to that new um jingle by the way. It's a lot.
00:00:23
Jo
and
00:00:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's a lot. um
00:00:25
Jo
Soccer.
00:00:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's
00:00:27
Jo
but
00:00:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's a lot um it's like excuse me it's a girls only pod today um so that means I am joined by my girl Jo how are you
00:00:37
Jo
I'm not too bad, Chick. It's the international break, so it's never the happiest of times, but gives our new new boys to bed in, isn't it, as well?
00:00:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
no
00:00:43
Jo
So we'll be good.
00:00:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
exactly exactly um okay I feel like I've not done one of these in ages it probably because it has been ages um so it's all feeling very foreign to me um I'm a little under the weather as well so everyone just be patient um
00:00:45
Jo
Thank you.
00:00:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, yes, um I thought we could start because um poor Ian and Michael pretty much have been leading the forte. and They've been holding all
00:01:07
Jo
Yeah.

Transfer Window Review and Newcastle's Performance

00:01:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
together.
00:01:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And obviously, I know it was um at the beginning of the week, but we haven't had a chance to touch on our um transfer window ending the busy day that was Monday and the last day of the of the transfer saga.
00:01:22
Jo
Mm-hmm.
00:01:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. I don't even know where to begin, but what how do you feel? Let's start on a positive.
00:01:31
Jo
yeah uh-huh
00:01:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
On a scale of one to ten, how do we feel like Newcastle's transfer window went?
00:01:37
Jo
well I like this because I know the boys did a whole rating of the the pod so I kind of commented on what they said so I'm giving it a solid 90 I'm feeling very positive so I'm not even going to bring any negativity into it I think
00:01:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh.
00:01:49
Jo
The media want to portray it or the fans want to try and wind us up about it. But when you break it all down, i think when it ended, we'd had a great one. Yes, it was very kind of late at the party, let's call it, in terms of making it a great window. um Because at the beginning of August, we were probably rating it about a two.
00:02:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Two.
00:02:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:05
Jo
And yeah, we migrated it right up to a nine.
00:02:08
Jo
Because, you know, bar the odd thing, we've upgraded in all sorts of areas of the pitch. And we're really, we've got two strikers in. Alright, we've lost two, but really Wilson never played, so it feels like we've only lost one.
00:02:19
Jo
um And that one didn't want to play for us anyway. So, when you break it down like that, and we got a ton of money for him, which helps with PSR moving forward for a few windows, really can't see how now it's over, we can pull many negatives from it, really..........
00:02:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:02:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Agreed. I also rate it a solid eight out of ten. um Eight or nine out of ten. i think the whole um ah negative, I think for the five weeks before that, um of the whole Isak drama was draining the absolute life out of me.
00:02:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Excuse me, sorry. um But once you sort of Monday came about and i was on Sky Sports all day watching it, um I actually thought, no, this is going to happen.
00:03:00
Jo
but
00:03:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's going to go. I was very glad to see him go, by the way.
00:03:07
Jo
yeah
00:03:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And yeah, we got Visser in the end. And before everyone starts commenting, we know he done the same to Brentford. No, we don't agree with it, but he's ours. And we have to just support him now and hope that he plays the best he can for us and treats us with a respect.
00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
And hey, at least he apologised and thanked Brentford. um So, yeah.
00:03:30
Jo
yeah.
00:03:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So, yeah, I would rate it out a solid um eight and a half, eight and a half, nine out of ten.

New Strikers: Valtamare and Visser's Potential

00:03:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
um How do we think our new boys are going to embed in the squad?
00:03:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know we've obviously got a few have been here a couple of weeks now, but obviously they're all joined.
00:03:44
Jo
Yeah.
00:03:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Transfer saga is over. ESAC drama is over. So hopefully the whole squad are now calm, back together, collected.
00:03:49
Jo
yeah yeah
00:03:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And now hopefully after the international break, we can move on, to be honest.
00:03:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So how do we think we will will but sort of move on from that and perform, I guess, after the international break?
00:03:59
Jo
Absolutely.
00:04:07
Jo
Um, I like the options it gives us to be fair, like the strikers that been brought in are two different strikers. And I like that because it obviously benefits the team to not really have two identical strikers. And Volta Mare apparently is not really an out and out number nine. He's talked about being more of a number 10 almost. Um,
00:04:25
Jo
He's also been, you know, this is him saying as well that he's not just like a target man. he loves dribbling. We've seen some fine highlights of him doing these dribbles as well, even though he's like, well, he's like Peter Crouch, isn't he? He's like long gangly, but the boy's got skills, you know? And what I love is when you see that boy can jump, man. So the fact that he's already 6'6", and he can jump, this is some real aerial threat that we've now got in the box.
00:04:46
Jo
um If he's got any defensive qualities to help with, that would be even better as well to be able to pull that sort that sort of thing back.
00:04:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:04:51
Jo
and But I think it'll be interesting to kind of see how he fits in because, Yeah, we can watch highlight after highlight on YouTube. But that's all we've got to work on at the minute. We've got no idea. Yes, all right, he played for Germany.
00:05:01
Jo
I'm not going to say I sat through the old Germany match. I didn't. I have watched some highlights.
00:05:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, maybe it'll...
00:05:05
Jo
I've watched a bit of him. But that's all I know. Vista's obviously had more time with the squad. So he's been able to obviously train because he hasn't been away on international duty, obviously. um
00:05:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:05:16
Jo
so It'll be interesting to see like who starts and when and what position. Does he start them both? Does he just play one? and But what's great is we now have that kind of flexibility at the front where we can almost play that 4-4-2. I've been craving at points.
00:05:30
Jo
um Or even the 4-4-1-1, if you want to think of it like that. Valtamare playing the 10-so position.
00:05:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:05:36
Jo
yeah is this Again, we've got so many options across the front. We had so many options with these. I could get that. um But I think we've now got so many more having these two guys in. um Because unfortunately, as much as we we do joke about losing two strikers, rarely at any point did we have Izak and Wilson fit at the same time because they were both a bit iffy.
00:05:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
At the same time.
00:05:56
Jo
Wilson obviously made of glass, God bless them, and Izak, please keep... playing as if you all made a glass that would be wonderful um but again they just didn't seem to be fit at the same time and so we never really got to see the true kind of workings of how great they could have been together i think um so hopefully these two guys which touchwood do not have as bad an injury record um will just i don't know i'm excited i am excited to see how this moves forward along with all the other signs were made ramsey alanga everyone i think we've got a very high pressing team now i'll be honest
00:06:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, me too. i um I've got to be honest about Alanga. So as much as I like him, and I'm obviously really excited to have him within the squad, i do I'm not impressed by what I've seen this past couple of games.
00:06:36
Jo
Mm-hmm.
00:06:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I can't work out if it's because, um obviously he's still embedded and settling to the squads, and it's obviously a completely different style from the way Nottingham Forest played.
00:06:46
Jo
ye
00:06:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I do understand that. um But also can't work out, is he being impacted a little bit by...

Alanga's Performance and Team Adaptation

00:06:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
what's been going on behind the scenes that's disrupted his game.
00:06:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Obviously we haven't had a striker. So has it naturally pulled him, um, not out of formation because he has been playing technically in his, in his, um, in his position.
00:07:06
Jo
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:07:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, but I feel like the whole team has looked obviously a little bit disrupted at times. Um, so I am now feeling a little bit more calm and that we've got two new strikers in, um, obviously with a third option technically as well on the bench if needed.
00:07:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, Yeah, i um can I am intrigued to see if Eddie will play them both at the same time or do like a Isak Wilson kind of thing. um I'm opting towards the latter. I do feel like he will go um for the latter. But I do want to know who's starting first.
00:07:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who's his number one?
00:07:47
Jo
You know, it's a strange one. It's, people will be like, and was about to say and I will still say it, Volta Marte kind of has to be, in a way.
00:07:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:07:55
Jo
It's weird to say he has to be because he doesn't have to be. But realistically, yeah. It would be mad to have your record signing not being your first choice, really.
00:08:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Agree, yeah.
00:08:03
Jo
But at the same time, we've just paid £55 million for Visser, who, by the way, scored the same amount of goals as Isaac last seen if we take away penalties. So...
00:08:14
Jo
You know, he's a high-profile Premier League-proven that everyone loves to throw in the mix.
00:08:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
They're both. Yeah.
00:08:20
Jo
Goalkeeper, I was about to say. I'm losing my mind today, girl. um Goal scorer what I was trying to say. Goal scorer. um So, yeah, it'll be bit mental.
00:08:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
A proven goalkeeper.
00:08:29
Jo
I don't know exactly we're screwed um but yeah it would be mental in a way based on those stats leave them on the bench so ah for I'd love love love what to see first game back it's at home as well at 12s isn't it yeah with them so yeah both of them to play
00:08:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Agreed.
00:08:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is. Well, yep.
00:08:47
Jo
I think, I don't know, just really mix it up, man, because people won't know how to play against it. You know, these guys have never played for us. So in terms of like defending against that, like formation that he might put them in, because again, it would it be 4-4-2? Would it be 4-4-1-1?
00:09:01
Jo
Who knows what going to do? Is he going stick one them out wide? Who even knows? I'm guessing not, by the way. I'm just really mixing things up here. But I'm with you on Alanga as well, by the way, because I was calling out as as a obviously a huge Murphy admirer.
00:09:14
Jo
um that he should have been playing but it was in all seriousness that Murphy knows how we play he knows our style already Lange didn't really have that kind of bet in and also like you say he came in during the chaos as well so yes I wasn't impressed with him but I'm also not going to judge him so early because we've got so much more ahead of us if you know what i mean
00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep. Great.
00:09:32
Jo
Give them that chance to settle. Give the whole team a chance to settle. I think in the next few games, we're going to see a much different team. If we don't, then we can talk about that. You know, then there's something to talk about. But you've got to give this whole mess a chance to kind of go away because course it's going to ripple through the squad.
00:09:48
Jo
They're humans after all. No matter what we want to think and put them all up on this pedestal, they're humans when it boils down to it. don't think are going to have good start.
00:09:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I also think people will forget, I mean, ah we probably haven't, but we I seem to remember we had a very similar start to the season last season, um where, you know, end of October, beginning of November, people were calling for Eddie's head, I remember rightly, um because we had a really poor start.
00:09:59
Jo
think you're to a good start.
00:10:04
Jo
Very lucky.
00:10:09
Jo
We'll do it.
00:10:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
A couple of losses, draws, and it will probably happen again.
00:10:12
Jo
It'll happen again. Yeah. but
00:10:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah And... um you know, people are panicking. I'm thinking, okay, yeah, it's not the most ideal starts, but we have been without our striker who kindly went on strike. Um, so, you know, I'm not panicking just yet. We've had a stunning transfer window if it wasn't for the ISAC drama.
00:10:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, that's just put, um, a little bit of bad blood, um, there. Um, other than that, I'm excited. I'm excited to get back to the Premier League already, even though we've not even started the international break yet, really.
00:10:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, um, So, yeah,

Isak's Move to Liverpool and Agent Criticism

00:10:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm excited. I'm excited to see what Eddie Howell is going to do. I'm excited and I'm pleased for him that this whole saga has ended and he can now just move on and quit being asked about it. I know we're still talking about it, but we haven't a chance to talk about it.
00:10:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And how we feel. Yeah, actually, how do you feel about him going to Liverpool?
00:10:57
Jo
Yeah, yeah.
00:11:03
Jo
just whatever in this point I'll be honest it's it's such a strange one that we were just wanting him out and he was going to go nowhere nowhere else so it was almost like an acceptance type of thing that if we want rid him that's where he's going in the end as much as we didn't want him to go there and we would have much preferred him to go abroad it was never going to happen because there wasn't a single team in power apparently there was like rogue talks of Saudi but there was never anything solid there that was just whatever I mean I would have loved him to bugger off to Saudi by the way because you're not even going to see him on the tv at that point
00:11:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
was very pleased. was say
00:11:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
hundred 100% agreed.
00:11:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Never going there.
00:11:30
Jo
Like, that's like that that would have been a dream move for us, wouldn't it? um So the fact that they've got him, it was always going to be Liverpool. That was where he wanted to go. It was where his agent been put in a That agent is the worst agent on the planet.
00:11:44
Jo
He's been pathetic.
00:11:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:11:45
Jo
The statement he put out was just...
00:11:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
His comments. Yeah. Awful. 100%.
00:11:49
Jo
You can tell he's a low-level agent with one high-profile player. So, if he had any sense about him, would get rid of that agent.
00:11:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, yeah.
00:11:56
Jo
and If he's such a big... Which he is. He's a huge player in that sense. One of the best in the world. Yet he's got a scrappy-ass agent who will no doubt have got an unreal payoff for this, by the way.
00:12:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
oh yeah
00:12:07
Jo
So, maybe he will just do this and now he will bugger off.
00:12:10
Jo
Because he probably can live on whatever he's just made. You know what I mean? From Isaac. But... um Again, if we're just talking normally about things, eac he's got any sense we'll get a new agent, for sure, um who will then orchestrate his next move to Real in two years' time, but that's another subject.
00:12:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
100%. Has to. Yeah.
00:12:24
Jo
We can talk about that years' time as well.
00:12:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Talk about that in two years time when Liverpool are all crying. um Yeah, I agree. I, um again, would have much preferred to see him go to someone like, I don't know, PSG or wherever.
00:12:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
um ah And obviously, I think the fact the whole time it was Liverpool stung every so slightly. i was a bit like, oh. But again, ah kind of get why he wanted to go. I just didn't like the way he went about it and, um you know, and all the drama that's, you know, unfolded after that and all the stuff that's been said and it's just not nice.
00:12:39
Jo
be, yeah.
00:12:51
Jo
me Exactly.
00:12:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, no, I'll never forget him. Forgive him. No, I'll never forget him. And I can't wait to see his downfall at Liverpool. um So, yeah, so that's how I felt about that.
00:13:05
Jo
but
00:13:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
um I think we'll break this part here. So, um obviously, we've covered off our transfer window.
00:13:10
Jo
so
00:13:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I'm going to cough.
00:13:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm back. um for the first ad and then we will come back and i guess discuss um England versus Andorra because we are experts on Andorra.
00:13:22
Jo
Why not?
00:14:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, we're back.

International Break and England Team Discussions

00:14:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Also, I can't believe it's the 5th of September and we're already on an international break. I say this every year. I feel like it just gets earlier and earlier every year.
00:14:09
Jo
Very early. Yeah. There's a lot of breaks this year.
00:14:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:14:13
Jo
But there was a lot of breaks last year, I think, as well, to be fair.
00:14:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I know it's obviously World Cup qualifiers, but oh yeah, it's just...
00:14:16
Jo
It was literally a month, wasn't it? Yeah.
00:14:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
I've got to be honest to all the listeners that are listening to this.
00:14:20
Jo
Nuts. yeah
00:14:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know you're here for Newcastle News, but um England's not my favourite subject to talk about, to be honest, because they bore me.
00:14:26
Jo
We won't bore you too long, Lauren. but
00:14:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
um so I'm going to try and sound enthusiastic.
00:14:32
Jo
Yeah.
00:14:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But yeah, anyway, let's talk about our lads that are currently with the England squad.
00:14:37
Jo
Yeah.
00:14:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So we currently have, God, excuse me, keep trying to cough. and We've got Mr. Dan Byrne, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon. Sorry, I've got the squad up next to me because I didn't really, I forgot Anthony Gordon went.
00:14:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Obviously, because he's been my carded prize. I'm like, he's out of everything.
00:14:56
Jo
morning
00:14:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, but yeah, he, obviously that is our three players that are there. So let's, um, obviously I don't know if we'll maybe have any other players go because, um, John Stones has now been, um, he's left, hasn't he, with an injury.
00:15:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
So don't know who called up in his place. So we'll have to wait and see, but, um, let's talk about our three that are there.
00:15:12
Jo
Yeah.
00:15:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Dan Byrne done a press conference today or yesterday, whenever it was we with have Thomas Tushel. Um, very professional.
00:15:21
Jo
Yeah.
00:15:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, as always, so ah you know, held himself really well.
00:15:26
Jo
you know
00:15:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
He was asked, I sound a little bit annoyed, but he was asked about um how the Newcastle squad is after the ISAC stuff and if there's bad blood, to which he denied and said, um no, everyone's fine.
00:15:33
Jo
Three.
00:15:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Squad are all fine. Everyone's friends ISAC. Want to wish him well. He's a friend. So he held himself really well and answered the answered the people, the paparazzi really, really well. So out of the three boys that we have got um with the England squad, do we think they'll all get a start?
00:15:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Or, not even that, do we think we'll see them play in these next, what have got? Two games? Andorra and... don't know who we've got, yeah.
00:16:03
Jo
Yeah.
00:16:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who've got?
00:16:07
Jo
I mean, between the two games, I expect to see all three of them at some point.
00:16:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Same.
00:16:10
Jo
It's just whether all three are going to start beyond Dora is the thing, isn't it? I mean, based on the fact that Stones has gone anyway, you expect Dan Bird to definitely be starting. It's just who's going to start alongside him. um
00:16:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:16:21
Jo
And I don't think anyone from our team would be replacing Stones, to be fair, because really only other call-up at the minute would be Hall, who hasn't played that much for us, which you can only assume that's the only reason he hasn't been called up.
00:16:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I don't.
00:16:31
Jo
So I'm expecting Hall to be called up in the next round, by the way. But... um
00:16:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep, same.
00:16:35
Jo
As it stands, I do understand why Hall hasn't went this time. So I think there was a bit of a, as social media is, whoo why not Hall? I'm like, well, come on, Hall really hasn't played that many minutes in the grand scheme. So he's obviously not at full, full fitness. And maybe that's why he hasn't gone. So I'm happy he's not.
00:16:50
Jo
but I'd rather him back be back fully for us, by the way, before he starts playing for England and stuff. Because you don't want to risk anything, do you really?
00:16:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Me too. Yeah.
00:16:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
No.
00:16:57
Jo
um
00:16:58
Jo
I'm not going to lie, I brought up the Andorra team for a laugh just to be like joking about, oh yeah, I'm totally worried about their midfielder, Mark Puyol. He's going to be dangerous. and
00:17:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
No.
00:17:07
Jo
The keeper, Ike Alvarez, he's like a beast between the sticks. Yeah, so not really. I'm lying. Those are players, by the way. But yeah, I know absolutely jack all about Andorra. So ah apart from the fact that we're obviously expected to whip them. So we'll do some joking...
00:17:23
Jo
But yeah, um predictions at the end, obviously. But I mean, in the grand scheme, yeah, I do expect them all to play. Maybe not all in one game, potentially, but it'd be nice to see them all play in one game, I'll be honest. I might eat be tempted to watch it if they all played in one game, you know, just for a laugh.
00:17:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, might not.
00:17:37
Jo
I mean, watch. Oh, what am I lying for? I told you already, I'm out tomorrow. on Yeah, I won't be watching that.
00:17:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, Jo's out. She's out on the beers tomorrow.
00:17:42
Jo
Chose out. Chose never in.
00:17:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
To be fair, it'll probably be England game will probably playing where you are. um
00:17:49
Jo
True.
00:17:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
You'll go into the stack, so it probably will be playing in there.
00:17:49
Jo
I'll catch it back into I guess.
00:17:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm going to a barbecue, so don't know it'll be... don't if it'll be on. Yeah.
00:17:54
Jo
I'm not rushing.
00:17:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
no don't rush I um fully expect to see a Dan Byrne start I feel like Thomas Tuchel really loves Dan Byrne and that makes me really happy um yeah it makes me really happy and I'm so um I say it all the time but I'm like the transition from Dan Byrne's career to like when he first started to like now is just madness like what is he 33 34 and he's 33 yeah and he's like having the time of his life um ah yeah
00:18:04
Jo
good.
00:18:16
Jo
33, isn't it?
00:18:23
Jo
Good. He loves it.
00:18:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
It does deserve it.
00:18:25
Jo
Yes.
00:18:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I do fully expect to see him start. I would love to see all three of our of our boys um start all together, to be honest, um because obviously they're ours and we just think that they deserve to be on the starting line-up.
00:18:28
Jo
Yeah.
00:18:32
Jo
Of
00:18:38
Jo
course.
00:18:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
um

Goalkeepers Pope and Ramsdale's England Snub

00:18:39
Jo
Mm-hmm.
00:18:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Another position I want to mention, obviously, goalkeepers. So we are lucky enough to have two um English goalkeepers, Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale, who have both played for England before.
00:18:48
Jo
Mm-hmm.
00:18:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Obviously, not one of them have been called up to Thomas's England squad. I kind of get Aaron Ramsdale one, you know, hasn't been playing that much, I guess.
00:19:02
Jo
hasn't played much.
00:19:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And I get that. um Nick Pope, I was surprised to see him not picked. I get why Jordan Pickford was picked. Obviously, he's like England's number one, but I was more surprised to see Nick Pope not not called up.
00:19:16
Jo
Pope was kind of in and out the England squad as well last season, but again, Pope's performances have been up and down as well, isn't it? And maybe he just doesn't trust him.
00:19:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
True.
00:19:25
Jo
And if that's how it is, then that's how it is. But I think it'll be interesting once Ramsdale starts getting more games and we've got the Cups, you know, the Champions League, both the Cups that... to see how how much he plays, and then that'll be interesting to see what happens then. Because if he does get decent enough games and he's putting in the performances, I would expect Tuchel to two pick him, I'll be honest.
00:19:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
pick him
00:19:44
Jo
I think he's more likely to get picked ahead Pope, ironically, even though Pope's getting more minutes at the minute. I do see Aaron being picked before Nick.
00:19:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah yeah I hope for Newcastle as well we get to see him more Ramsdale I actually really like him I like
00:19:56
Jo
Yeah. Oh, he's a solid keeper.
00:19:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah know like when re I know when we signed him, people were um like, why have we spent that money? But I'm like, yeah, I can kind of see why. like He is a decent enough keeper.
00:20:07
Jo
How do
00:20:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
like but like Obviously, I know he obviously went down to sort of number two pick at Arsenal, but he is a really good keeper. and I think he's underrated in my eyes. That's just my opinion. know um I'm not even going to talk about the Andorra players because it's not some players that I really follow.
00:20:24
Jo
i'll tell you
00:20:27
Jo
could build it
00:20:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. or know much about. So if you know...
00:20:30
Jo
how would you feel about al about rosa
00:20:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Terrified.
00:20:34
Jo
He's a forward. um I think Pickford's going to have some issues with Will Albert running at him.
00:20:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah think so, yeah. with Yeah. ah Okay, okay.
00:20:42
Jo
Yeah, that's as much as we're talking about Andorra.
00:20:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:20:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah um Where is this game tomorrow?
00:20:48
Jo
Are we home, are we?
00:20:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Is it at Wembley? Or is it... i Can we...
00:20:51
Jo
This is how much attention I've paid to this game. It's awesome that we're doing this kind of preview on it, isn't it?
00:20:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, guys.
00:20:56
Jo
The boys are going to be cringing if they listen to this going, oh my God, the lasses are not doing any more.
00:21:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
they're not prepared um it's not you know yeah um so bad um Villa Park in England yeah we're at home um yeah the boys are going to be cringing at this because they're going to like this is not what I would have done um let's just do our score predictions
00:21:02
Jo
this is what happened
00:21:07
Jo
yeah we're at home as in in england is what i meant yeah um
00:21:20
Jo
we know the boys can be more professional right but we like to think we bring the fun so this is this is what you get from us right and anyone still listening must appreciate the fun because now we're 21 minutes in they're still listening that's all i'm saying
00:21:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
i yeah 100 percent um
00:21:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
I agree.
00:21:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So we last beat Andorra and that last in June. um In June, sorry.
00:21:35
Jo
for

England vs. Andorra Match Preview

00:21:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Harry Kane, 50th minute goal. Only 1-0.
00:21:44
Jo
Yeah, I can remember that game and it was a bit of a shock as in, oh my god, we've only just screamed past Andorra type of attitude. who
00:21:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And obviously, Harry Kane has been confirmed to be starting tomorrow by Mr.
00:21:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Tuchel, of course. and Now, I was going to go for quite a high score. Now I'm a bit like...
00:21:56
Jo
course, yeah.
00:22:02
Jo
No.
00:22:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Maybe not. um
00:22:05
Jo
He
00:22:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Like I say, Thomas Tushel is obviously still working out his England squad. Anyway, I am going to go to now in England.
00:22:10
Jo
is, but... Are you? Right. I'm going to go 3-0.
00:22:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:22:14
Jo
Because I think its it is going to be better than last time.
00:22:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh.
00:22:17
Jo
It has to be better than last time, for God's sake, man. They can't be scraping past Andorra 1-0 and then it's but its expect to do something decent in the World Cup. It's just, don't know.
00:22:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Agreed.
00:22:26
Jo
That's my views on it, I'll be honest. um
00:22:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Agreed. um
00:22:30
Jo
But yeah, 3-0. Yeah, I'm
00:22:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
I do just want to mention um Mr Bruno Gomara scored last night for Brazil.
00:22:36
Jo
either. Yes.
00:22:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Absolute

International Players' Updates

00:22:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
legend. I also want to mention, even though Germany got beat 2-0 in their fourth ever World Cup qualifier by Slovakia, Volta Mardy played a full 90 minutes.
00:22:40
Jo
Yes.
00:22:49
Jo
Couldn't beat Dubravka though, could he?
00:22:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Couldn't beat Dubravka, no. um
00:22:53
Jo
a dubs second
00:22:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. I know, and Ian did say to mention Martin Dubravka's clean sheet, um which is great for him.
00:23:02
Jo
Not the great Frost Riker. Yeah, true.
00:23:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
But he doesn't play for us anymore. um
00:23:06
Jo
It's just very true. Yeah.
00:23:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, perfect. But, um, Valtimari did play a full 90 minutes. Um, and did look at some of the highlights and although he didn't have the best game because he had zero service from, um, any of his teammates and players, um, it, he did look positive and I thought good 90 minutes under his belt in the international break.
00:23:21
Jo
Yeah, which doesn't help you.
00:23:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
He'd be, you know, perfect to, um, to start for Newcastle in a couple of weeks when we're back at back at Wolves um that is pretty much all I have planned to cover mate unless you have anything else you'd like to add
00:23:40
Jo
I think that's all we need to talk about, Andorra, match to be fair, because otherwise we're just going to get more ridiculous than we've already been.
00:23:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
i' yeah I'm probably gonna yeah I'm gonna sneeze oh my god excuse me I am having a bad time sorry guys I told them I feel under the weather at the start
00:23:47
Jo
It's time to turn off.
00:23:50
Jo
You'll have minute, then. Jesus Christ though.
00:23:55
Jo
What a weird endopod. And here's some germs.
00:23:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now is a good time
