Hey folks, you're listening to the jobs podcast and I am your host, Tim Hendricks. This is the first and introductory episode to the jobs podcast. It's just a little snapshot into who I am and what the purpose of this show is.

And as I was helping my teenage boys look at different career options and the paths that they may have some interest in, I saw an opportunity to do a deep dive into various careers that our friends, neighbors, and family members do. The internet is not short in supply of articles and videos that can show you how to be a successful CEO.

And while there's absolute value and things that we can learn from people that are successful CEOs, if everybody was a CEO, nothing would get done.

So this podcast is going to do a deep dive into what your everyday job is like. If you can think about a job, I'm hoping to interview them and find out what their life is actually like. We can learn a lot from folks that have been successful because they've made failures. We all do as human beings.

and you can probably avoid some pitfalls and some expensive mistakes and streamline your progression towards a successful career by listening to some of the folks that I will interview. They will be able to tell you about areas of specialization in their career that may be of interest to you.

We will of course talk about pay, starting pay and then what the ceiling is or the cap is on how much you can realistically earn. One of the main goals of this podcast that I want to achieve is a realistic snapshot of what someone's career is actually like. I have no desire to do a polished influencer, everything is great and rosy type interview.
