Lifestyle of Longevity: hi Hey, hey Hi.
K: Hiiii!
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hi. Hi. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Tennis Bakery, your tennis... Fan podcast. Here again are Christina and Kati. Your two German friends.
Lifestyle of Longevity: talking about their love of tennis and what's going on in the tennis world. um Not only on the court, also off the court, especially maybe off the court, because that's where our forte is.
Lifestyle of Longevity: but um yes we were with you every day of the us open um managed to do a a podcast almost every day ah to... chat about what was going on and since then about two weeks have passed.
Lifestyle of Longevity: two weeks we are two weeks after the US Open and we thought we would record another pod and we kind of plan to try and record a podcast about every two weeks.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Uh, until the next slam, which is in January when the Australian Open come about. But just so you know what to expect, that's kind of like what we have in mind and just kind of catch up on what our thoughts and feelings and emotions are about tennis.
K: it's
Lifestyle of Longevity: since um the US Open. Christina, did you watch? A tennis match since the US s Open ended, since the final. of the men.
K: I watched several highlight reels on Instagram. But I don't think that counts as a tennis match, so no.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Okay.
K: You?
Lifestyle of Longevity: And which highlight reels did you watch? Because I felt like there wasn't really much going on except Davis Cup.
K: No, no, it was like old highlight reels of the US Open, so I also don't think it's worth discussing here, but no, no.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Ah. Yeah.
K: I didn't know. I think there wasn't much going on, right? I think Labour Cup is the next. thing that's happening, like proper thing. What's happening?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: Bigger thing.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So I think there were some smaller tournaments and I think the biggest, the most important thing were the Davis Cup. um Matches that were... that were played. um
K: Did you watch any of them?
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, no, no, I didn't I didn't. I always find after... After a slam, it's always a bit like... weaning off something. And on the other hand, there was a lot going on that got pushed aside during the US Open.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So there wasn't really really enough time. So I haven't been watching it um watching much tennis. So if we're not, so if you haven't watched any tennis matches and you've only watched old highlight reels, what are we going to talk about?
K: No.
K: I think we can talk about quite a lot. Actually, because i I think like the tennis world never stops.
Lifestyle of Longevity: o
K: And I think it is always... you know kind of Because... I think the US Open are often framed like kind of the end of the season.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm.
K: And then... If you look into the tour calendar and see what... ah Like, how many tournaments are still about to happen before the year actually ends? you I think you can't talk about like it's the last slam of the year. Yes. So the last slam of the season. But god I just always find it so crazy how much is happening in in the calendar. Right. So I only ah looked at the.
K: Yeah, slightly bigger or in my point of view, more exciting tournaments that are still coming up. There's like a whole lot of things happening in in China. Right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, it's the Asia swing now, I think they call it.
K: Hmm. That. I mean, that alone is, I think. Three. ATP WTA 1000 events. I think some of them are also 500 events, but I mean, that's let alone like the smaller tournaments. So I think it is just a lot of things happening in Asia.
K: Then you have the Six Kings Slam. which is not like. What maybe tennis experts would call a proper... kind of tournament because it is not.
K: like an ATP 1000 or something event. But still, I think it is an interesting thing to watch out of many reasons, but I'm sure we'll discuss it once this comes up. Then you've got the Rolex Masters.
K: WTA finals and the ATP finals. And this is all happening this year still. And it's almost October.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, but I think... um If you do realize that it's between now and the end of the year. It's the Lever Cup. The Six Kings. and the WA ATP finals, all three of those are not point counting.
Lifestyle of Longevity: tournaments. And they're all in this era, in this timeframe. So I think it does show that there's less. point relevant tournaments going on between now and the end of the year. So I do think it's fair to somehow say.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It's almost, it's kind of. It does kind of close the the official point collecting part of the year.
K: I mean, in Asia, there's still a lot of point collecting going on, right? In Paris also with the Rolex Masters. So there's still some point collecting going on. I just find it crazy, like the amount of tennis that people...
K: can play well it's a totally different question as to whether they should play all of those but i think it's just crazy and um Well, for me, the most exciting thing that's officially starting now Like.
K: Today. is of is obviously the race to Turin. So to the ATP finals. And that is because I'm visiting the ATP finals this year for the first time.
K: I've never been there. I feel like it could be like the tournament for me because and in case you have not seen this before, for the ATP finals, like all the social media action that's going on, it's very much focused on fashion.
K: So and they always have like a red carpet. fashion. kind of arriving of the tennis stars event. um in turin once like before the um ATP final start.
K: And I... always crave the social media content so much because Well, obviously only the top 10 male tennis players can play in this tournament. And therefore it's also called the race to Turin. So who's going to make it into the top 10?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hold on a second, but the race starts on the 1st of January, right?
K: Yeah. Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It doesn't start now.
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: The race has been going on the whole time, right?
K: No, but now it's the final, it's the you can see the finish line.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Final stretch. Mm -hmm
K: You can see the finish line. and um A, it's always interesting who's in there. I'll have a word about that in a second. but B, and that's even more interesting for me, is to see Who is going to wear what?
K: Hmm. Because 10 male tennis players who are... At least most of them, not very. kind of comfortable wearing high fashion outfits. ah They are all being styled by expensive brands, and by stylists, and then they have to kind of behave in this.
K: fashionable environment i always find this really interesting And um yeah, it combines two... passions of mine with the fashion and with the tennis so i'm looking very much forward to this social media content and but of course i'm also looking forward to seeing the play When I'm there, it's an an indoor hard court event.
K: And. and I think currently there's still like, it's still that for many, many, many of the players that are currently in the top 10 and are currently in the top 15, I would say it's still.
K: um yeah quite exciting to see who's going to make it because like the last I don't know, eight of the fit top 15. They are so closely together when it comes to the points that they currently have.
K: that there could still be anything happening. So therefore, I think. ah Like... Yeah, most likely Zinner will be there, Zverev will be there, Carlos will be there, Shelton will be there.
K: But from then on... I think more or less everything is still up for up for grabs. So I think it's going to be really exciting. I hope that Corbolli is going to be there because obviously he's Italian and this is going to be in Italy. So I really want him to be there.
K: But yeah, apart from that, like Tiafoe, Deminauer, Fritz. Like Arthur Fies, Novak. Still. um Learn a TN, jodar so it's still not sure. whom of these people I will maybe see.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And if they um if someone's not there, does like the next one get nominated? Like, for example, if Yannick is still injured, do they then take number 11, number 12, and so on?
K: man
K: I don't know, I guess so, because... It's a fixed tournament calendar I've seen on their website that's already like the tournaments are, like the the matches are set. So, and if there would be a person less than.
K: I guess you would have to cancel some matches or some players would have to play more often or I don't know. but I guess yes. then I think the next ones will be in.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And. um How many days does the tournament go?
K: That's a good question. I think it is two weeks.
Lifestyle of Longevity: ah Sorry, I thought you knew this. You can tell us about this when you're there as well.
K: No I think it's two weeks but I'm not sure but hold on.
Lifestyle of Longevity: two weeks no i can't imagine
K: i I will check I will check before.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I thought I would have thought like four days.
K: Um. It is from Sunday to Sunday. So it's eight days.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Eight days, wow.
K: Mm hmm. Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Eight days. Okay.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Interesting, because there's only 10 people participating.
K: Yeah, they also have some doubles in there. and stuff, right? It's not only singles matches. So I think I've got a day session ticket. By the way, the tickets are super expensive this year for this tournament.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm.
K: So I have planned to go like a few years before already and I checked also the ticket prices and the tickets were quite affordable back then. I think a ticket was, I mean. Still expensive, but I think a ticket was like 70 euros or something. so really not.
K: that crazy and in terms of a tennis ticket and now I think we paid for one ticket day session I think it was towards the end. So I think it will be semifinals or something that we're seeing.
K: um But it was, I think, per ticket, €450 or something. And it was not a great it was not a great seating.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Oh boy.
K: It was like...
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm.
K: Really not ideal. So... Yeah, it's crazy. They're really expensive.
Lifestyle of Longevity: That is crazy.
K: Anyway. Yeah, I'm really looking forward still.
Lifestyle of Longevity: ah yeah How many days are you going?
K: Just one. Just one day session.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm.
K: It's just one day session event. It's two matches. Um, Obviously you never know which one crew you're going to see.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I thought you were going for more.
K: But um yeah, looking forward to it.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: So therefore, I'm having a very close eye on the top 10 for the next weeks, seeing whom will be there.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So you're most likely going to see four players, right?
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Two times two single.
K: Yeah. Mm hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Singles would be the...
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: That's what it looks like.
K: that that's that's how far That's how I um understood it so far.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm.
K: Yeah. Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Exciting.
K: Yes. I'm very much looking forward. to this.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Totally. so yeah so So we're at the end of the road to Turin, so to say. And the women are on the end of the road to Indian Wells.
K: Mmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Wells is played before Turin. And um that's the WCA.
K: Yeah, I think it's the week before, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: That's exactly the week before. um That's the the women's final, so to say. And I think that's also going to be fun. I mean, leading up to there, I think I'm going to have a bit of a look at the Lever Cup, which is coming up this weekend.
K: Mm -hmm. Yeah, me too.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I saw that on German television it's going to be... on wow which is part of sky sports um offering they're the ones who normally show also all of the wta and atp tournaments i'm guessing also they'll show the finals but let's see I don't know exactly what the rights are. Lever Cup is obviously purely exhibition -based, right? it's a a tournament that was created by Roger Federer, which is quite fun. And it's basically as players from Europe. Team Europe against Team World.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So they put all the European players together and all the... ah other rest of the world players together and nominate i think it's eight of them And they play like a tournament against each other, which I think is super fun because these are players that normally are never together unless they're maybe in a Davis Cup team together, but then they'd have to be from the same country. And we were lucky enough that I think it is, what is it, two years ago, the Lever Cup took place in in in Berlin and it was literally so close to my house that I could go there with a bike.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I mean, who can say that they drove to the labor cup on their bike? I don't think there's a lot of people, but I also super privileged that we, um, at the time I bought tickets for the entire event, like from the first to the last day, I saw every single match.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And it was it went on until the last game because depending on how close the games are, it's a different matter of ah matches that are played. There's a number of guaranteed matches. And then if one... team is super far ahead.
Lifestyle of Longevity: they don't carry on the tournament but in this case they had to carry on until the last match for then Team Europe to win, which was very which was very exciting. so I really enjoyed watching Lever Cup because I liked watching the dynamics between the... the players, like how are they around each other?
K: Yes, also they are allowed to coach from the sidelines, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Each other.
K: so Yes. Yeah, that that one player's playing, let's say, and the others of his team sit on the bench, or like most of them normally do, and they kind of...
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hm?
K: once once they go sit down for a break, they kind of can give him a coaching or, you know, kind of sign him. friendly advice or something like that. And I really think that.
K: It is also so funny because the camera normally goes back to the players on the bench. and films there. faces you know, when points are happening. And I just see that sometimes it's just so lovely how how the players feel the balls, even if they are not um on court. I think that was especially funny for for Koboli and also for Carlos.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, and you could see like how many of the players are always there when the others play. who's only there for their own matches and then they go out to dinner together in the evenings and stuff like that there's loads of cool content around it and i remember when we were there um Because you were also there, I think, for at least one day, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: If not more.
K: Yeah, two days.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm? There um you could see, like, I specifically remember that Dimitrov was especially like he was fully engaged. He was so.
K: Yes, really invested, yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So invested. And Kabali was the backup player, so he didn't get to play anything. No one really knew him back then. He was quite unknown. and But he was super into it as well. He was just the super fan.
Lifestyle of Longevity: of all his his mates there. He didn't get to play, but he was there every single match and really into it. And it was it was quite cute. And I think um Team Europe, I was just having a look, looks quite cool. I mean, Carlos and Sasha Zverev are both supposed to be playing, which of course would be amazing to have both of them there. Yannick Sinner, I don't think has ever played Lever Cup. I think it's just not his.
Lifestyle of Longevity: His thang. um Who else is there? Is Dimitrov playing in the other team?
K: I don't know, I haven't even had a closer look at who's playing.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Because it is. then Let's have a look. What does it say here? There's always like pictures of both of the teams.
K: Mm -hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Okay, Rodin is playing.
K: Mm -hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: That's also going to be interesting, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: How he behaves like in a group and in a team because we have him on watch.
Lifestyle of Longevity: know
Lifestyle of Longevity: Totally. We have him on watch. um Who else can I see here? is still on there. I'm just going to do Team Europe first.
K: hu
K: huh
Lifestyle of Longevity: um So, Carlos Feref Koboli Choda Menzic. I love that. hoot he was also there back then ferry oh that's fun that's the british man that was in this
K: That's really good for him that he's there.
Lifestyle of Longevity: In the semi -finals of Wimbledon. Yeah, those. So it's one, two. seven. Seven guys that are nominated in Team Europe. And let's have a look who's in Team ah team World.
Lifestyle of Longevity: We have Fritz. Dimenor. Nakashima. Public. Tien Segundo lo... And Boozer, who I must admit, I don't know.
K: Buse, is he Puerto Rican or is it something like that?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Booze abuse booze booze. I'm gonna click on him Oh, he's Peruvian.
K: or Peruvian. Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I have Peruvian heritage, so I've got to… Get into the sky.
K: You should. You should know him.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He's ranked 30.
K: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, a lot of experts talk about him, but I have never watched any game of his, I think, or at least I can't remember.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No. I never have. I was 22 years older from... Born in Lima, Peru. And he's never played Laver Cup before. Ignacio Buzzi.
K: Yeah, that's going to be fun. Also, Bubbly could be fun.
Lifestyle of Longevity: i think that's ah I think there could be some really fun matches there.
K: He's just this crazy guy. Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And it's always it always changes.
K: I think so too.
Lifestyle of Longevity: One year it's in Europe and one year it's in somewhere else in the world. So it was in Berlin, like we said, two years ago, lucky us. Then it was... um
K: San Francisco.
Lifestyle of Longevity: In. uh oh yeah i saw my california or LA, I don't know, San Francisco.
K: No, I think it was San Francisco and now it's in London, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: It's in London, yes.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So yeah, lucky people who get this.
K: Yeah. that's Cool.
Lifestyle of Longevity: You guys are going.
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Drop us a line.
K: ah
Lifestyle of Longevity: And did you see, I don't know if you saw the new cocktail. the Grey Goose has... Um,
K: Yes, I've seen a picture, but I didn't do any deed there. I found it looking very similar. to the honey dews of the US Open.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Totally. is Exactly.
K: I find it a bit cringe actually that it looks so similar.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I don't know if it's if if there's like the Labour Cup. drink but it I think it is. And it's just very.
K: similar right it also has these three it looked like melons like these these tennis shaped or like
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: ball shaped. Melon balls.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And it has a pink ball. like color.
K: oh
Lifestyle of Longevity: Um,
K: So it's a bit like copy copy -paste from the US Open, which I think is a bit... Hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Bit weird.
K: Yeah, you should invent your own drink, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah. Well, that I mean, the honey juice is done with the Grey Goose as well.
K: Hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So that they are the
K: Yeah, but I think it is just... It's like the US Open drink is is already taken. I think you can. just put it into another tournament. Bye. Well, obviously they can, but I think it's not a good idea.
Lifestyle of Longevity: do Yeah. Anyway, so it's the Lever Cup coming up. That willll be should be fun. that goes like It's like a prolonged weekend. Normally, I think Thursday to Sunday or something. coming up next weekend so if you guys want to catch up on that that's a fun thing to see also catch the social media content that's going on going on around there.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Do you have any other, um like, I have two. Other gossip pieces that I, not gossip, but. tennis slash but a big gossip things that I want to get into. Do you have any?
K: Yeah, i I think like... Maybe the gossip of the week, I would say. Would have been like, who's going who is going to be coached by Ferrero?
K: Um, Next year.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And this is because he gave an interview.
K: I think.
Lifestyle of Longevity: This is Carlos' ex -coach. Carlos is for years coached the man who. It was on Carlos' side when he became Carlos. And he gave an interview saying that he will be coaching somebody.
K: Hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And that's what sparked this whole. But since then, everyone's like, who's it going to be?
K: Yes, everybody is really, dead that there are a lot of rumours on the internet who's who it is going to be. Before we go into that, I think. That Ferrero, like the coach.
K: does have beautiful hair as well.
Lifestyle of Longevity: ah You do.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Doesn't he have a bit of a receding hairline? I can't really remember.
K: It could be, but still like the hair that is there there, I really, really like that. I think he's a good looking guy. I think he's really good looking guy. Anyway.
K: That aside... I think it's going to be really interesting who is he who he is going to coach next. I mean. everybody is have is going to have very close eyes on on who's that. going to be because obviously he is ah Well, he's supposed to be a really great coach and I... I think yeah you also felt this from kind of the relationship that Carlos had with him. Um, that it it felt like really warm and not kind of very close and very supportive.
K: as far as you can tell. from the outside. um Yeah, and the two people that um are speculated about. ah On the one hand side, Rafael Roda.
K: The... guy that is also going to be the part in the labor cup right that you just mentioned
Lifestyle of Longevity: And who we have on watch.
K: Who we have on watch because with Roda, he's quite young, right? How old is he? Is he 19? Is he 20? Something like that, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Something like that. Mm hmm.
K: Like he's really young. um And there have been incidents because so far... I mean, he has been. like coming to the top like a rocket. Right. So he was not there, I think a year ago or even half a year ago.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm -hmm.
K: I can't remember what was the first time that he was mentioned like in a broad but broader context. But since then he has climbed up the ladder and I think he's now. I don't know, 14 in the world?
K: or 15? I don't know, but really high up already. and is playing out of his mind, and so far has been coached by his dad. And... To my knowledge, it was only the dad. That was there. There was also no physio or no sports, or like like fitness coach or something there. So it was a one -man or like two -man show, like Roda and his dad.
K: And it see it i mean it would be quite logical that a next step would be that he would hire like a professional coach. But um as you already mentioned, Kati, we have him on watch. Because there have been incidents.
K: where he has not been been like the friendliest guy on tour. I mean, not that that you have to be, right? But you should be polite. I think that's something that we ask of our tennis stars.
K: At least they shouldn't treat people in a bad way. and There have been incidents where he has not been nice to ball kids.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No.
K: And I think that's... almost kind of the worst thing that you can do because the ball kids, I mean. They are kids, right? Or at least they're very young people.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, it's... Mm hmm.
K: You should be nice to them. I think that's...
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm -hmm.
K: Really unforgivable, actually. And also there have been other incidents, right? where it Just seems to be a bit of a... Aggie. Personality. Maybe not reacting so nicely under stress.
Lifestyle of Longevity: h
K: And therefore... I think it could actually be a really great development development for him. If he's working with Ferrero, who's going to teach him some manners? like in a positive and more friendly way, I think maybe than he has experienced so far.
Lifestyle of Longevity: h
K: so i could really see this happening because it would again be like a carlos alcaraz like maybe be like a Galazakra story, right? Where there's this young and really upcoming player still raw on the outside.
K: And would be a similar. kind of coaching Have a well. How similar can anyone be to Carlos Alcaraz? But at least a bit similar to Carlos Alcaraz. Coaching. um path that he had with Ferrero. So I can see that happening.
K: I think.
Lifestyle of Longevity: But of course, he from the outside, it seems like personality -wise, Jordana is pretty much as far away as you can get from from Carlos.
K: Good.
K: and
Lifestyle of Longevity: It's possible.
K: That's true.
Lifestyle of Longevity: But, I mean, the other the other move might be even more interesting, the other rumored move.
K: It's true.
K: Yeah. what What is the other rumor? Tell us.
Lifestyle of Longevity: The other rumor is that he will be coaching Yannick Sinner.
K: God. This would be the bang of the century.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It would be, when when i when I sent you this this piece of gossip, you wrote back to me, that would be the ultimate revenge move. And you are completely right. It would be the ultimate revenge movie for Eero.
K: So crazy. right?
K: God, just imagine all the faces in the Carlos Alcaraz box freezing. Hmph. and When he steps on court together with Yannick Sinner. Oh, God.
K: That would be something. And you you can really imagine this happening, right? Because Darren Cahill, who is currently the main coach of Yannick Sinner, he has already announced.
K: I think a year ago or ah quite a while ago that he wouldn't continue coaching Yannick.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He already prolonged that once.
K: Yeah. I think he was supposed to stop already a few months ago.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So he... Mm -hmm. Yeah, yeah.
K: And then said, okay, I'll stay on a bit longer because just the ride is so nice and very much smooth sailing with Yannick, I guess. um But you know I mean, it's like the end is near. I think in any case, right? He would never prolong for, I don't know, a long, a much longer time. So I think it could make sense.
K: then it would be Ferrero coaching him. I think I owe
Lifestyle of Longevity: Timing -wise, yes, but of course... It would just be the ultimate move.
K: god that would be That would be something. Of course. But I also can see this happening. i i can I can picture both scenarios. I think...
K: Both of them would be exciting, I think. Hm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah. It's a shame we haven't had him on the tour now for...
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: How long has it been? I must say a year. Hmm?
K: I missed his hair.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hey.
K: Hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: well he just seems like a nice guy so it'll be fun to see whoever he Whoever he turns up with.
K: Yeah.
K: He has his own academy also.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm.
K: Right? Ugh. I think like one day, it's really a shame that like my tennis is so bad. Because I really would love to go to one of these academies. Like Rafa has his own.
Lifestyle of Longevity: But do they do tests?
K: Huh?
Lifestyle of Longevity: I think anyone can go there
K: do you that's that that's something I was always asking myself don't you need a like a minimum level of skills before you go there.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I don't know, but I would imagine that if you pay the money for someone to coach you in tennis. And you're not paying little.
K: So far I'm so ashamed. of my tennis skills that I'm hiding under a rock and have not even... I haven't even brought up the courage to scroll their websites looking whether they would take me on.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No. Turned.
K: But I think that would be really lovely.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Where would you rather go, Ferrero's or Nadal's?
K: Ugh. I think it's a really, really difficult question. I'm quite sure that I wouldn't go through to the Moroto glue. academy That one is in ah in the south of France.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No.
K: We actually passed it when we were there. We drove. um We drove by the eAcademy there. That's something I wouldn't do. but I mean, who would you rather pick, Ferrero or Raphael? I think it's the most difficult question.
K: Maybe Ferrero? Maybe I would use, I would go to his academy.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I think this is a point where I would literally make a decide based on... The facility.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: like It's both good and I'd check out.
K: How nice is the hotel?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Where is it? What's the what's the living?
K: What's the food like?
Lifestyle of Longevity: What's the food like? What's the living situation like? How easy is it to get there? I think that's the point. I think they're both most likely quite fun.
K: Yeah. Yeah, that would be cool. Anyway. and There have been other... pieces and bits of gossip. on the internet, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: I have two women -related topics.
K: Go ahead.
Lifestyle of Longevity: do you have know Do you have any men's left? Because then we can like finish the men's.
K: Yeah, I have just one man left.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Okay, go on then.
K: Novak.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Oh, Novak, my love.
K: What is happening with Novak? He has done two or he like he has released. or like other platforms have released social media content with him in it, that I found surprising, both of them.
K: The first one was... He is about to feature. in a hotel retreat kind of situation in Morocco, I think. That was the one that I forwarded to you. I don't can't recall what the hotel was called. But as far as I understood this post, he's really going to be in a retreat, like where you can book.
K: You can book to be there and then Novak's going to be there. Good luck. Yep. How? Is this real? Is this really happening?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Ah, you see, I didn't understand that. I thought it was like curated by Norvac.
K: ah
Lifestyle of Longevity: but I don't know. I didn't go into detail.
K: Yeah, that could have been, I mean.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Like he...
K: I almost was certain then this was AI. So as I was kind of, is this real? But yeah, if you if you know, a let us know. And the other um piece of content that I've seen from Novak was him sitting half naked.
K: In an ice bath.
Lifestyle of Longevity: thing
K: um Together with... I don't know, is it in a YouTuber? Is it a podcaster? Is is he both? I don't know
Lifestyle of Longevity: The person in in the bath with him or on the other side?
K: Both of them. There were like three men in the picture, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Well, the...
K: We have to we have to say that.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: He was in ah in ah and in an ice bath tub together with a guy. who You will tell us who that is. And then there was another guy in another bath to tub with ice cubes in there.
K: Who was, I think, interviewing him? I'm not sure. But what was happening there?
Lifestyle of Longevity: um I'm just looking up the name the the black man who was interviewing him. He's a very famous um American um ah actor called Kevin Hart. He is a um he's a black man um who's very funny.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He's a comedian, Kevin Hart. And he, for example, does the, if you ever fly Emirates, he does the... um The safety video. The Emirates safety video is done by Kevin Hart and he's so funny. He loves tennis. He was at the US Open for several matches.
Lifestyle of Longevity: um and was always featured. and he So he's he's the black man in the other. bathtub Also with ice, but he's only got his feet inside. And Norvux... not got anything on at least in his upper chest and is fully immersed in this Ice and heat doesn't flinch.
K: Yeah. No, but he's... In this ice tub, which is not big, and he's in there with another guy.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, I don't know who i don't know who who who that... who the other guy is.
K: Yeah, but i just I just had so many questions seeing this image. Anyway, I found a bit... Funny.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It was a bit random, huh? So apparently, that what this is what the internet says.
K: It was.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It says there's, and this is the format of the show, of Kevin Hart's show. It's called Cold as Balls. And the whole idea is that you do an ice bath and are interviewed.
K: Yep.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And famous people go there to speak to him. And... um
K: You will not feel very comfortable. while answering the questions.
Lifestyle of Longevity: <unk>s I think that's the whole idea. I think i guess it functions like those um interview formats where you eat stronger and stronger chilies. Because when you, when...
K: You are forced to spill the truth.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, your nervous system as goes into overload and you start telling a lot more than you actually want to tell.
K: Yeah, well.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes, i was so but I was so taken aback by the setting, because I'd never seen Cold as Balls before, um that anything that I saw about it, I wasn't even listening to what they were saying.
K: yeah
Lifestyle of Longevity: I was just like, what is going on? Who is this man in a jester hat who's coming in pouring in new ice?
K: Is he reading it? Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Then there's this...
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Guy in...
K: Two guys.
Lifestyle of Longevity: a Like I don't even know what they talked about.
K: Like, one of them being normal. Djokovic?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: ah In his ice bath. I just found it really interesting. And then on the men's like finally.
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, wait, I have a Novak thing
K: Huh? Okay, you have another.
Lifestyle of Longevity: that I just remembered.
K: Okay, go ahead.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Have you seen what his wife, Jelena, has been posting about nonstop in the last few weeks?
K: Mm -mm. No I haven't.
Lifestyle of Longevity: She has been converted into a Romantasy fan. It's so funny.
K: Welcome. To the other side.
Lifestyle of Longevity: That's exactly it. She's like, oh, my God. Stop everything. I've been converted to romanticism. It's so hilarious. She's a very intellectual woman. She's highly educated.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And she apparently normally would only read like psychology books and things like that. And then some friend. She said, recommended her, I think.
K: Which book was it?
Lifestyle of Longevity: I think it was Akuta. I think she started with Akuta.
K: Okay.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So A Court of Thorn and Roses for those who don't who don't participate. And she... and she's like oh my god stop everything and i was just thinking you know sometimes
K: this
K: Ugh.
Lifestyle of Longevity: during the games she's always very she always listens but I know that sometimes in the break she's read like books
K: Mmm, yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: She sometimes has like an e -reader with her.
K: Yeah, that's true.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And I realized she was on the e -reader more. during the match that Novak played at the US Open.
K: ah She was reading through all these spicy theta scenes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And I'm like...
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: so could She couldn't put it away. ah
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, exactly. She's completely hooked. And it was like, what shall I read next and everything.
K: Uhhh? Oh really?
Lifestyle of Longevity: I love it. It's so fun. And Norvac's liking all the posts.
K: Did she ask?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Like he's fully supporting her.
K: Ah! Mm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He's like, oh yeah. I will like that. Jelena, good job.
K: Really well done. I think we have to recommend to them the open era. Like this this tennis romance -y.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I haven't read that one yet, but you could you could drop into her DMs or comment under one of the...
K: thing.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: the pictures and suggest that might be although that might be a bit weird who knows
K: That's two. that's too funny
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm.
K: I think it was really funny. um Was that it on Novak?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: I just wanted to mention briefly that Yannick Sinner, who couldn't play in the US Open because of his knee injury, he's supposed to play again in China. I haven't um looked up which tournament it's going to be.
K: so Maybe. You know that? But his knee seems to be better, seems to be healed.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm.
K: And he is about to play, which I would embrace because... Well, normally I'm not a big fan of Yannick Sinner's matches because they're normally very boring because he's so good. But still, I would love to see him in Turin.
K: I think it is kind of in his home country and he's number one, at least.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm.
K: currently because that's a whole other discussion that we can have maybe in another podcast is he going to be the number one at the end of the year or is Zverev going to overtake him but um I would really i think it would be a shame me if he couldn't play in the ATP finals because of injury.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. Mm hmm.
K: So therefore, I think that's a good sign. that he's about to play again.
Lifestyle of Longevity: That's very true. Over to the women.
K: Let's go.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So I have two things um relating to Mata Kostiuk.
K: Mmm. Yeah, I had her on my list too.
Lifestyle of Longevity: One, because... um She had on, I mean, she always has these wonderful dresses on. So she works with Wilson and I think she just wears them all so well. They designed that.
K: This lady's got style.
Lifestyle of Longevity: amazing piece for her um called actually The Martyr. the Marta dress um for Wimbledon. this stunning lace piece and this time at the US Open um I'd already mentioned that I really liked her Red. Wilson two like It's a one piece, but it looks like a two piece.
Lifestyle of Longevity: and I think she just she wears it so well and it was the perfect red and it was just perfection so I was actually like, you know what, I think I'm going to buy this one.
K: Oh yeah!
Lifestyle of Longevity: Okay. So I go to the wil Wilson website and first of all, it was super hard because there were two dresses or three dresses in that red. to really see like which one was the one that she was wearing.
K: Oh.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And there was no comments.
K: You have a range. Hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And I was like, man, people, you've got to write it down. Like this is the one that she had on. Right. But anyway, so I ordered two of them. Both in both sizes. And what shall I say?
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It did not look like it looked a matter.
K: What? Why?
Lifestyle of Longevity: a
K: ah
Lifestyle of Longevity: Oh my God, it looked terrible.
K: Hmm? Lee! Oh that's so disappointing.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I know. it was just that I was just like, you think like, oh, I'm going to...
K: Oh!
Lifestyle of Longevity: there's no good No, no, no. I did not look like her. It was hilarious. I put it on.
K: Ugh.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I i was just like. Yeah, no.
K: Oh, no, that' sort that's really a shame.
Lifestyle of Longevity: ah Yes.
K: Because what's not to like about those dresses? Would you wear them for pedal or what ah what would be the occasion?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Well... Yes, that's what I wanted to do.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I wanted to wear them for Paddle. and um They were just much too short.
K: Ah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Like they were so short.
K: But she's a big woman herself, right? As you are.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Tall woman, yeah. Well, I don't know. I don't know how tall she is, but I guess so most of the tennis players are tall. But. it Really, really short, like... goes all the way up the leg and one of them was had a cute little short underneath it so it's not the point that i wasn't worried about people see my underweight just wear a pair of shorts or like
K: yeah Uh huh. Yeah, yeah. yeah Mm hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: shorty kind of underwear underneath it but it was just too short you saw just too much leg it was just
K: No.
Lifestyle of Longevity: there was I mean, I have a lot of leg and it was all out there. And... And also the top bit, it didn't it wasn't very flattering around my upper body.
K: That's annoying.
K: Ugh.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And i was I was just so sad because I thought I was going to look like Marta.
K: Ugh. That's really sad. Did you try ordering the the Wimbledon white lacy thingy?
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, I think that's a bit OTT.
K: Yeah?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Well, I mean, hey, I'll celebrate anyone who does it.
K: All right.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It's a bit too OTT for me.
K: Yeah. I could imagine you wearing this. But on the other hand if the red one doesn't fit maybe the other one also doesn't. man that's a bit That's a bit disappointing.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah. Yeah, I was sad. I packed it all up yesterday day to be sent back. Ciao, ciao. Adios. Bye -bye. Yes, that was the first bit of MATA news.
K: Sad.
Lifestyle of Longevity: um Well, the saddest bit of mutton is that she's injured her wrist.
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Everything regarding wrists is of course extremely scary in the world of tennis. And apparently she she did like a two -slide story on it.
K: Yes.
Lifestyle of Longevity: and Apparently it's a pain that she's been having since a while, but... Now it's flared up and she's decided I think that she's not going to play tennis for the foreseeable future. It really sounded like she's out for a while.
K: Yes, I agree. And it didn't sound well. I mean, you never know with these wrist injuries, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm -mm.
K: Bye. Oh God, it would be such a shame if this would would be worse. Like, oh God.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Since Carlos, all of us are on high alert when it comes to rest.
K: Mm hmm. Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: We're all like... the theto
K: Yes. Oh, God.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So yeah.
K: Hopefully she'll be fine. Yeah, I've seen it too.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm. And then the other um women's topic that I brought here was one regarding the Williams sisters.
K: Okay, hit us.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So, you know, there's lots of um like. festival. I worship Serena Williams. Yeah, I was lucky enough to actually have a meet and greet with her. um a few years back in this business conference that there was in hamburg not the that was of any relevance because he literally just walked in stood next to her there was a picture taken and i left but i have a picture of me and serena
K: I think that's very much of high relevance.
Lifestyle of Longevity: But I have a picture of myself looking very pleased with myself and Serena Williams. um Anyway, she was there to talk about all her investments that that she does. I think she's such a cool businesswoman. I think she's an amazing sportswoman. I mean, like. She's a trailblazer. like It's really hard for me to hate on Serena Williams. And I'm only indirectly hating on Serena Williams because I'm going to hate on the US Open now.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Because they're Serena and Venus Williams, they as you guys know, so that they play doubles. Um. at the US Open was very largely announced and they lost. It was a quite close. match It was three sets, but they lost their beginning match.
Lifestyle of Longevity: and they didn't come to their press conference.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And... This is something that most other players are fine for. that You're not allowed to do that because you know media coverage is part of the whole experience. And if you don't go to press, you get a fine.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And not only for that, there's lots of things that tennis players get get fines for. And then I actually heard ah a report on like what kind of things were fined this year and how much money the US Open basically got back through fines. And amongst others, like a 19 -year -old teen that was in qualifying because she finished her match after 17 minutes. She stopped. She had to pay back part of the...
Lifestyle of Longevity: So. Like literally people who are Clinging on by the skin of their teeth. are getting fined thousands of dollars. If they like can't finish a match now with this team, I don't know why she didn't finish the match. like Was she injured? Did she just not want to anymore? like I have no idea, but never mind. um But Serena and Venus, they did something they apparently are not allowed to do, especially if they are getting wildcards to do things like promote the tournament where press is just part of that. And they don't appear and they don't get fined.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Like I don't get it.
K: It is not fair.
Lifestyle of Longevity: It's not okay.
K: No.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Like, it's not okay. They are not above the others. I mean, of course they are above the others. They're queens. but they But they shouldn't be treated differently on that level, especially when it comes to money. Because if there's something that they got, it's money.
K: I fully agree.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And I think they should rather find them and then leave the poor women in qualifying alone.
K: It's not right
K: And I think like the tournaments have, ah I mean, several cases, right, where tournaments had these discuss head to face these discussions around, are they treating certain players differently than others? Are they kind of...
K: you know, kind of ah allowing top ranked players to pick like the session they want to play a night session day. there There's a whole lot of discussions around this. And I think this discussion now, this could have been like completely.
K: prevented, right? If they had just find them.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes.
K: i and It wouldn't have been a big thing for the Williams sisters. It wouldn't have. I mean. It would have been perceived as completely. normal behavior to find them yeah so i don't understand why they i open up this Yeah, this... Just root for critique.
K: I just don't get it.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Completely. It makes no sense. And especially it makes it seem like they... um because serena already didn't go to press in wimbledon when she lost her singles she also did and I don't know if she was fine there. I never...
Lifestyle of Longevity: that but It was never commented on, but it's like. Why is this okay? Why can she like apparently she doesn't like going to press when she loses. Okay
K: Well who does?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: No, it's not fair.
Lifestyle of Longevity: That upsets me.
K: Yeah. Um. Are you finished talking about Serena Sisters? They're Williams sisters.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm. Yes.
K: and Because I had to comment on one topic that we briefly touched on a few episodes ago.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Okay.
K: I don't know if you even remember that. Do you remember that we had the brief discussion around the fact that Brad Pitt was at several
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes.
K: Matches.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes, he often is.
K: He often is. And we had, like, we started the rumor. of him only being there because he's preparing for a next movie.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes.
K: Do you remember that discussion?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Ah, is he actually doing films, maybe?
K: because Because he did this Formula One movie, right?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah, yeah.
K: and And therefore, like we speculated, maybe he's doing a tennis thing next.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Mm hmm. Mhm.
K: And you know who continued the speculation?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Who?
K: Andrea Petkovic.
Lifestyle of Longevity: You know, she I'm sure she just listens to our podcast.
K: Yeah, of course like of
Lifestyle of Longevity: hu We wish. Petco, hi!
K: she did i'm 100 sure that she heard it on our podcast first
Lifestyle of Longevity: Bye.
Lifestyle of Longevity: ah
K: And so she does the Big T podcast, which I sometimes listen to. And there was this episode. I don't know when, but in the past few days. And she mentioned there actually were rumors that he's doing something on tennis next.
K: like a movie on tennis next. So that could be... Now he's doing... A tennis. I could see him in a tennis coaching role or something.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He could be Ferrero.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: He could play Ferrero. I think they're about the same age.
K: Yeah. Yeah. I think so too.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Maybe Ferreira was a bit young. I'm not sure, actually. I don't know. I think I was the same age.
K: Well, no, actually, I think Ferry was younger. Well, you never know, but he could.
Lifestyle of Longevity: 11. evan
K: So... Yeah. Let's... Let's see if this is really happening.
K: Anything else from your side, dear Kati?
Lifestyle of Longevity: Nope.
K: Any more gossip from your side? because I don't have any more gossip
Lifestyle of Longevity: No, no, no
K: I think in the next podcast episode, we could maybe discuss who's going to be. for number one. um on the men's side at the end of the year maybe also on the women's side
Lifestyle of Longevity: do you really think we have the expertise to be able to
K: I think we have the expertise to really discuss this.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Uh.
K: Very much in detail and very...
Lifestyle of Longevity: Hmm.
K: detailed and... Yeah, with a lot of great fundamental knowledge.
Lifestyle of Longevity: I think when we're back in two weeks, one of the things we definitely should talk about is the Labour Cup. um I'm going to try and watch some of it. um Although it's difficult because it's... NFL.
Lifestyle of Longevity: and Formula One this weekend. and Labour Cup.
K: and Like it's a three.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And I'm working all weekend.
K: it's It's a three screen situation.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Three screen and holding keynotes at the same time.
K: I'm seeing in your future.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So it's like me on a stage holding keynotes.
K: Oh, keynote at the same time.
Lifestyle of Longevity: With three screens of sport in front of me
K: mm -hmm I think this would be a first. Like a general. A first in human history.
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yeah.
K: ahha
Lifestyle of Longevity: Yes, totally. Oh, God. And it's the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, which is also an exciting event.
K: Mm -hmm.
Lifestyle of Longevity: So lots of sporty stuff going on, but also the Lever Cup. And um we will be back in about two weeks to talk about anything that we learned during the Lever Cup and anything else that happened in the tennis world that we found interesting.
K: Yeah.
Lifestyle of Longevity: And until then, all we can say is bye.
K: Bye.
