Introduction to Soul-Aligned Side Hustles

00:00:00
Speaker
hey guys welcome to the episode today we are going to talk about how to launch a soul aligned side hustle that feeds spirit and wallets it's about turning your gifts into income that can feel equal parts thrilling and scary and where do you begin We'll break it into five hard center steps that will help you share your worth without burning out.
00:00:31
Speaker
You're listening to The Pathless Path. We're two women figuring it out as we go. This isn't about perfection. It's about staying rooted in truth, not trance, and having the conversations most people avoid.
00:00:48
Speaker
right. Let's move to it.

Valuing Sacred Work: Challenges and Perceptions

00:00:50
Speaker
Yes, let's do it. What scares you most about charging money for something that's sacred?
00:01:01
Speaker
Wow. Actually, I thought I knew the answer.
00:01:11
Speaker
It's a loaded question. I'm not going to lie. we We're diving in deep in this one. Yeah. Why did you have to start with a lot with a hard one for me? all right.
00:01:25
Speaker
I think what scares me the most about charging money for something that's sacred is that people feel like because it's sacred, it should be free.
00:01:37
Speaker
And I don't agree with that. I think that when you're sick and you go to the doctors, they're there to help you, but it's not free. I think that when you go to a lawyer to help you draft anything that before you even sit down, they over here and say like, my fee is, and that's even before they even start drafting the contract.
00:02:02
Speaker
And so we often think that because
00:02:10
Speaker
it's sacred and it was given to us, like people forget that we are going yeah through this
00:02:22
Speaker
We're physically going through it as well as we're learning it. We're experiencing it. And most of the teachings that I've gotten weren't free. They were actually very expensive.
00:02:35
Speaker
It is not something that I take as in like, oh, i'm just doing this as a hobby. This is ah business. And so it must be treated as a business, but it's a sacred business.
00:02:47
Speaker
So there's a lot of empathy. There's a lot of everything that goes into it. But at the same time, we've spent a lot of hours in the studying part and we spend a lot of hours into living it and feeling it and our experiences come into play.
00:03:08
Speaker
So we know that time isn't free. We know that we have a limited time on earth. And so I should be recompensated. i should be compensated for the work that I can provide to people.
00:03:20
Speaker
Therefore, it's sacred work, but it deserves to get charged to our degree because it's sacred work. And so i think that we shouldn't be scared about charging people.
00:03:34
Speaker
i think that if anything, we should honor it. Yes. Obviously, let's not go crazy on prices. You know, if it's not worth the value of it, let's be honest with it. Again, let's be authentic and let's be honest. Let's be raw.
00:03:46
Speaker
Be like, okay, we're not going to put an e-book at $5,000. Let's just be honest, right?

Integrating Sacred Work with Business Operations

00:03:52
Speaker
like But if it's like a retreat, yes, charge $5,000 or more or less, whatever fits.
00:03:58
Speaker
But let's just, you know, we're doing orange and apples here. So that's kind of like where I was going with this. But yeah, how about you? What scares you about charging?
00:04:09
Speaker
For me, I think it's it's the stigma that's like attached to to charging something for something and something being sacred. i mean, if you if you think, like leaning a little bit on my Catholic side, on my religious side, if you look at like the church, they survive off of donations.
00:04:33
Speaker
And a lot of the times that you see people in a sacred space, when they're offering their services, they normally attach, you know, donation of something such would be good, or, you know, like, this is the suggested donation, but you, it it is something that you've studied, you've put a lot of time and energy into it, you've done the work, ah you've spent the money, and this is now a business, so i think if you
00:05:13
Speaker
I don't want to say disconnect, but if you look at it because it is a business, you've taken the time to learn about this, to grow so that you can in turn impart this knowledge onto other people.
00:05:24
Speaker
So it is a business and you shouldn't be afraid of charging what you are worth for the time and effort and energy and experience that you've put into this because you've grown as a person, you've learned from others and now you're trying to integrate this and help other people heal and learn and grow.
00:05:46
Speaker
and I think that's the stigma that I have. It's that every time you see anything that's sacred that's going on, it's because it's always attached to this is what's the recommended donation.
00:05:58
Speaker
Even when we were like in Reiki, that's what our teachers were like telling me as well. You and I weren't in the same like level one class, but that's what was told to me oh, you're not ready to start taking on clients.
00:06:14
Speaker
You have to, you can do it and like pay it forward. And yes, you can pay it forward in some ways. But again, there is also another reason that you're, some people are just on a spiritual journey and they're not called to create a business out of it, unlike us, but this is our path.
00:06:33
Speaker
And we do have to ask others or The same way, like you had said, if you go to see a doctor or a lawyer, they tell you what their fees are upfront.
00:06:46
Speaker
yeah There's no haggling. Oh, well, maybe I can start with this. And um how about only like $50 for that? No, the price is the price it's set. That's what's going to get charged.
00:06:57
Speaker
So you should also feel confident in yourself and in your worth in order to say, this is what my price is for this service that I'm rendering.
00:07:08
Speaker
Yeah, I agree.
00:07:12
Speaker
i think it's the conditioning that we've been through before as well from, you know, like you were saying, when you're thinking of like, you know, a church and like they do offering. Yeah, I'm here in Mexico and we have a lot of yoga facilitators who are doing yoga classes and they're charging donation base, right? Like offering minimum 200, 300 pesos. And I'm like, okay, that makes sense.
00:07:34
Speaker
But like at the end of the day, I also feel like we we we look at donations, we look at charities, we look at all of those things and we relate that to like business.
00:07:51
Speaker
You know, what we don't see, actually, if

First Offerings and Gratitude in Business

00:07:54
Speaker
you look at a church, which is ah registered as a nonprofit, they do get money by donations, but they also get money by other businesses.
00:08:02
Speaker
And we never see that. We only think that they get money from just the people that are going to the church. But we're forgetting that other people are sponsoring the church because as a business,
00:08:17
Speaker
is a tax write-off. So when a business gives money to a nonprofit organization, it is a tax write-off. And we forget that. We forget that or we don't know that. So therefore we're like, oh my God, why should a church have donations or offerings? Or like, why would that be the case?
00:08:36
Speaker
So we have to like start unlearning what we think we know or start viewing things differently in learning how it is to operate from a business side of it. Because once you know how to operate from a business side of it, you're thinking business owner and that's the way you should.
00:08:55
Speaker
So on that note, question is, how did you pick your very first offering and what was the simplest version of it
00:09:09
Speaker
So the way that I view this question is like how I showed gratitude for my business. And what I did was i had actually gone over to, ah have a lake right by my house.
00:09:24
Speaker
And I went over there and just sat in, in silence and stillness and just showed gratitude my to God, to the universe for being able to set up my business. It was the first time that I had gotten paid for a session for a Reiki session.
00:09:44
Speaker
And I was just feeling really overwhelmed with like joy from I was like, oh my God, it was my first Reiki session. and I got paid for my first Reiki session. And i just, I was just so thankful. And I just sat in silence.
00:10:00
Speaker
Um, cause I think when, and this is just how I'm viewing the question. I think when you're, when you're giving an offering, it doesn't have to be over the top. It can be something simple. It could be sitting in silence.
00:10:14
Speaker
um It could just, it could also be just an act of kindness, opening the door for someone, you know, to to let them in because that energy is going to continue down and be passed along to everybody else.
00:10:29
Speaker
So it doesn't always need to be something extravagant. It's just, it's you just being thankful in that moment. How about, how about you? how do you view that question for the list? So, yeah, I, so you and I have different views on that question. We shared that before i view it more in the sense of the offering that you were able to do in your business of something that you're selling or something that you're offering your audience or your clients.
00:11:01
Speaker
That's how I'm viewing that question. So, When I think of the very first offering, For me, in our business, it was the website, for example.
00:11:16
Speaker
The website that, you know, was the first thing and obviously our social media and things like that. But our social, our website, because is as good as it's going to get for right now.
00:11:32
Speaker
And of course, it's a very simplest version of it. And I feel like... It's something to get us out there, to get us known.
00:11:43
Speaker
It's shared on our social media platforms. It's shared from word to mouth. It's shared on our podcast ah platforms. And so I think that that is just a word of mouth for now. That is just a way for people to get to know us.
00:12:00
Speaker
Obviously, you know, we'll have more professional work done in the future for the website. But I think that that for me is the first offering that I was able to dedicate time and a lot of things to do for the website.
00:12:17
Speaker
And granted, I am not a web developer, but But I do have digital marketing in my back pocket. I did that for some time. And I worked in IT as well. So I have a background in that.
00:12:28
Speaker
So it it was easy for me to get it started. So that is what I think about when I think of this question. So, yeah.
00:12:41
Speaker
What's a, in in business, what's a boundary? So like your hours or your clients or like your pricing. What have you like set up to protect your energy?
00:12:56
Speaker
Very interesting question. And I love this question. It's probably my favorite. um Very, very, very cool. What I do is when I know i am working on the business, take my phone and i put it on silent on D&D. If it's not you or my father texting me, it is not important.
00:13:16
Speaker
i know that people love to text me while I'm on the computer working on the website, the podcast, ah social media, whatever it is that I'm doing. I really cannot spend time responding to people throughout the day because if I do, I'm leaking my energy, my my physical energy and my spiritual energy.
00:13:40
Speaker
And I need to keep myself whole in order to complete the day because I have a lot of moving parts. between the social media, creating the content, because between creating the website, editing the episodes, like all of those things, it's a lot of moving parts.
00:13:56
Speaker
And i can't be answering people left and right because they just

Managing Energy and Setting Boundaries

00:14:01
Speaker
think about like, how are you doing? don't have time for you. And it's not because i don't love them. It's not because of anything like that. It's just because I need the time so focus. I'll text them when it's not working hours.
00:14:14
Speaker
And so And in in essence, when you go to work, you're not supposed to be on your phone. When you work at a restaurant, you're not supposed to be on your phone. So why would you do that while you're working?
00:14:26
Speaker
And um then you get sidetracked and things like that. So it's just kind of like, oh, and you start getting into this gossip, this conversation. oh did you hear what happened? I don't have time. I need to stay focused.
00:14:38
Speaker
So kind of have the blinders on a little bit. And the hours I usually try to do between eight to nine hours a day. Sometimes I do a lot more. Sometimes I do 12 hours a day.
00:14:50
Speaker
It's a lot, but I can handle it and I can handle it. And then when things are calmer, I can take days to take naps and sleep and things like that. So that's it for me for now.
00:15:05
Speaker
How about you? What is your, what are your boundaries? I guess it's really aligned with yours. So one of my boundaries is the word no.
00:15:17
Speaker
um It is a full sentence. You can feel empowered to use the word no. No means no. um So I just make sure and i tell people no. I'm like, I need, I have to prioritize.
00:15:34
Speaker
Like we use our Saturdays. to do our recording for our podcast. And I'm like, yes, we can do it either a Saturday or a Sunday, but right now I'd like to stick to this structure because it's good. I like having structure to my day, um to my week, to just knowing what has to happen.
00:15:56
Speaker
So I turn down people a lot and say, I'm not available on that day because I need that time in order to put into myself. Because if I give, you can't give from an empty cup, you can't keep pouring.
00:16:10
Speaker
Ain't nothing to be in there beside air So no is one of the ways that I do it. And then I a stickler when it comes to my time.
00:16:21
Speaker
Once I have like signed off, uh, from my nine to five and I've put some time into the business itself. After that, my phone is always on silent, but my phone goes in into do not disturb.
00:16:36
Speaker
And that's my quiet time. That is when I am winding down and resting and trying to, you know, ah if there was a lesson that was that I needed to learn or if there was time or maybe my brain needs to breathe because I was struggling with something else.
00:16:55
Speaker
That is the time for me so that I could work that out. I like always like to sit in silence and try to I'm I like to walk and I like to sit in silence and that helps me get to the next stage.
00:17:11
Speaker
So making sure that my phone is on do not disturb so that I have that, that, that time to myself is very big for me because it's just like you said, if you answer every single question or every single message that you get, regardless if it's someone reaching out on social media or not, it's draining your energy and it's not allowing you time to rest.
00:17:38
Speaker
So it's very important to take that time to rest. Yeah. I also feel like if you are seeing a text message coming from somebody, before you go and take your phone to reply to that person, just even like think, do you want to talk to that person today? Do you feel like right now is the time? Feel your energy and sit with it for a second because you may already know what that person's going to reaching you about.
00:18:05
Speaker
Or you may be able to read on your text message the first two lines of the text message be like, oh, I'm not reading that right now. I don't got time for this because this is not something that's sacred.
00:18:16
Speaker
So that's also another like tip or whatever you want to call it that I would suggest to do. Like instead of reading the full text message the full text message.
00:18:28
Speaker
I would just like, when they come down on my phone, I can just read the first two lines and I already even know what the topic is about. And if it's something that doesn't resonate, I don't get time for this. So that is one way. And then the other way is just when you see the person who's texting you, if it's somebody that you don't want to talk to today or not right now, just feel your energy and see how it feels. And your energy will let you know. Your energy be like, no, I don't want to talk to that person right now. I don't have time, this, that, or the third.
00:18:54
Speaker
And then you'll know how to, you'll know when to, I mean, I sometimes keep text messages on my WhatsApp for like days. I don't respond to people and it's not because I don't want to, it's because I, my energy isn't allowing me to answer other questions or other answer the message because the moment I start answering the message, I know the other person's going to want to reply back and we want, we're going to have to talk.
00:19:21
Speaker
And it's not that I don't want talk to the other person. It's just that I need the time for it myself. my sacredness, if it's a working day, my energy, like there's a lot of moving parts, right? Yeah.
00:19:35
Speaker
So it's very important that you honor yourself in that, in that aspect. Yeah. Yeah. No, definitely. Yeah. Because it's one thing to be like on a nine, in a nine to five and like, you've got some sort of structure, but it's a different ball game when you are your own boss.
00:19:55
Speaker
Absolutely. You're needing to now create your own structure to be like, I do not have time to have this conversation. This is not ah priority on my list. I have other things to take care of.
00:20:08
Speaker
Yeah. What's more important, your energy and what you're putting into your business or chit-chatting? Exactly. This is not gossip time. This is time to make money in hustle.
00:20:22
Speaker
yeah ah The other thing that you said is that, yeah, it's true. You don't have a structure. You have to make the most of your time. And so, for example, i am not a person that gets up at five o'clock in the morning. Right.
00:20:37
Speaker
That is not me. and know. I know. I go to... Guilty.
00:20:46
Speaker
I like to go to bed a little later. Normally, when things are right in my world, I am in bed by 10.30. Before 11, I'm already in bed sleeping.
00:20:59
Speaker
Lately, I've been going to bed a little later. But it's okay. I'm not upset with it because I know a lot of moving parts are going on right now. And so what I tend to do is if I'm going to bed between like midnight one, I wake up later, which means I get up between like nine, 10 and that's okay.
00:21:15
Speaker
I'm not hard on myself because my structure is different than Kiki's structure. She has to get up because she has a nine to five. I get up. when I can, when my body tells me, okay, we've slept enough. It's okay. Let's wake up. Now it's time to start working.
00:21:29
Speaker
My body just does it. My body just knows I don't have a boss over me watching me and tell me what to do. I have to do that to myself. So if I'm not being a boss to myself, How am I supposed to work further? How am I supposed to work more and be a better employee to myself, to my business?
00:21:48
Speaker
Right. Obviously, if I'm tired, I know to take a rest and I know how to stop and take a rest. But.
00:21:58
Speaker
You have to listen to yourself and to your body if you know that you are a person that likes to go to bed later and wake up later, that's fine. That is not the end of the world. As long as you're doing the work that needs to be done throughout the day, then nothing else matters.
00:22:14
Speaker
You don't have to beat yourself up and going to bed at 7 p.m. or 8, 9, 10 p.m. and waking up at 5 o'clock in the morning. It is not a schedule for everyone. So I think it's important to also honor that and not be so strict with yourself because we become, oh, I'm an entrepreneur. I need to get up at 5 a.m. and do all my routines and all that.
00:22:33
Speaker
No, no, honey, stop. Please just don't because you're literally killing yourself. You're making it more challenging than what it needs to be. And do the practices in the morning when you wake up and then go to your work.
00:22:49
Speaker
But you don't need to get up at 5 to do this if you don't feel like 5

Learning to Value Your Work Appropriately

00:22:52
Speaker
a.m. is your thing. It is just for the people who want to do it and you can do it That's fine.
00:23:01
Speaker
So onto the next question that I have for you guys is, can you share a moment you under or overcharged and what was a lesson you took away?
00:23:19
Speaker
So I had a Reiki session yesterday.
00:23:25
Speaker
I want to say it was that like a couple months ago that I had a Reiki session and i had given the person the price, you know, the same thing, like we were talking about earlier, I was upfront. I was like, this is what the cost is with the charges for a session.
00:23:39
Speaker
And it was a lot of work. It was a lot of work. And I did not budge from the price that I had told them. And it was one of those situations where because I was in it, I was in that energy and trying to help that person out.
00:24:00
Speaker
ah
00:24:02
Speaker
Typically when I have a Reiki session, it's, it runs between like 45 minutes to like an hour, maybe hour 15. But this time it was about two hours and like 15 minutes.
00:24:15
Speaker
And I, I didn't, feel I honestly didn't feel it. But when I got home and I had, and I was doing like my cleansing bath, I think, I was so depleted.
00:24:27
Speaker
So, so but and looking back on that now, i'm like, you know, yes, this is what it would have would have cost. But I should have also um geared myself up to let them know this is what the price could range until if it were to like be an extended amount of time.
00:24:49
Speaker
So that was, ah you know, just making sure that You're upfront about it. Let them be just kind of clear about what's happening, what they can expect. Um, and making sure that you're also protecting your energy and not feeling depleted at the end of it.
00:25:07
Speaker
It was a very good session. um that person took a lot out of it. They, they really had that time to heal and work through a lot of their stuff.
00:25:18
Speaker
Um, cause we did have like a consultation after. And we were just like chit chatting and how are they feeling and everything. And I did get a lot of joy out of that. But at the end of the day, your work is your work.
00:25:33
Speaker
um And as much joy that it brings me, I also have to remember if it's depleting you, you really can't, you can't give from an empty cup, like I've said all the time.
00:25:44
Speaker
how about How about you? Myself and another facilitator were hosting a psilocybin ceremony. And so we had charged this person, we had charged everybody, all four people, a certain price.
00:25:55
Speaker
And we interview our people. i always interview the people that come to us so we can have the intention for the group, so we can match the energy for the group. So there's a lot of work that goes into it.
00:26:07
Speaker
And I remember during that time, while we were in the psilocybin ceremony, which lasted about like five, six hours, I think. And one other the person had a lot of heavy energy.
00:26:21
Speaker
and want i don't want to call it darkness, but it was very heavy. and
00:26:28
Speaker
She felt it and I felt it. And we both kind of like, we were prepared. So we were energetically prepared to go into the ceremony, but what was coming out, we didn't expect it.
00:26:39
Speaker
And I guess this is something that you just never know because it's sacred work. So you just never know what's going to happen. You just need to really know your tools. and really have them at your service or at your belt at all times so that as soon as something happens, you know how to call your tools in and how to work on it.
00:26:57
Speaker
And so it was really, really heavy energy. Her and I were both kind of like sickish and we were like, oh my God, like you're feeling, and we looked at each other, um like you feel that? She's like, yep.
00:27:07
Speaker
And so we ended up, each one of us, so I stayed and then she went in the corner of the room and like she cleansed herself out and at the outside of the space. And I did the same when she came back and then things got better for us because as, as facilitators, you are transmuting the energy and not all the time, but a good part of the time when you're under medicine, you are transmuting the energy that the people are taking. When, when the, when the travelers, i usually call sitters travelers, when they're traveling in their journey with medicine, they're,
00:27:45
Speaker
things are coming out of them. en Energy is coming out of them. And usually facilitators are transmuters to that. So when we when we saw each other, we left that. So then we left that night.
00:28:00
Speaker
And when we we were hungry, because we too take medicine. And so we also do what we tell our ah sitters. So if we tell them not to eat, three, four hours before a mushroom ceremony, we mean that. So that means that we too don't eat.
00:28:16
Speaker
We too take medicine, right? We don't take the same amount of medicine as the travelers do, but we take as much medicine, we take medicine in order to be in the frequency.
00:28:27
Speaker
And when we left there, we were starving hungry. We were so hungry because we did a lot of work. And we were it was like midnight at this point. Thank God things were still open here because we went to go eat.
00:28:40
Speaker
And we were talking and we're like, oh my God, did you feel that? And we're like, yeah, it was as heavy as it can be. And we did not charge enough. And we didn't. And so that was like a really potent lesson that I learned that This is why it's important to realize that you're a business, but to also realize what you should charge. And that was just one ceremony, right? Like I can think of other ceremonies that I've been to that were really heavy and I did not get paid enough for that either.
00:29:11
Speaker
But sometimes it's also like, am I supposed to learn something out of this? You know, it also is is this a lesson that's hidden in there. Should I protect myself better? Should I change my practices? mean, it's something that I'm not doing correctly.
00:29:22
Speaker
So then there's other things you can think of by start peeling the the onion, the layer onion. But at the end of the day, this is a lesson that I took. to heart. And so that's kind of one of the reasons why today I'm not facilitating any more ceremonies where I'm really learning how to work a lot deeper with energy and I'm taking the time to honor myself and honor my gifts because without them, i couldn't be able to do continue to do this work.

Business Setup Advice for Newcomers

00:29:54
Speaker
So I think that's really um important to honor that. So that is what I think.
00:30:04
Speaker
I love that. Thank you.
00:30:09
Speaker
Uh, what's a tiny system for like our listeners that they can set up today, something like, ah a link or like an auto reply like a, something for a reminder to like help them on this business journey.
00:30:28
Speaker
So you, you mean for them to remember or for their clients? I think it could be for memory, for them to remember to do something.
00:30:40
Speaker
It could be something to help their clients out as well. What's something that a newcomer to like setting up a business, what's something that they can do today in their business?
00:30:54
Speaker
All right, I'll i'll do both. So if you're a newcomer that is starting your business and you're kind of feeling like you're running all over the place, What I do, and it's working for me, so I'm going to share this.
00:31:08
Speaker
I throw everything I need to do for the next day on a reminder. i use my I have an iPhone. I go to my reminder on my phone, and I write down line by line, time by time, day by day what I need to do.
00:31:22
Speaker
I got to answer emails. I got to create a website. I got to create this. I got to create that. So I write everything down, and I put a note on it on everything, like reminder to go here, do this, you know.
00:31:33
Speaker
So that works. And then the other thing that I do, too, is I create alarms on my phone. So like, for example, like an alarm to remember to eat, an alarm to remember to take a break, an alarm to remember to maybe switch, maybe I've been focusing on this work for like five hours, but now I need to switch because I'm realizing that I can't, i'm I'm blocked by something or I'm needing a link from another platform and I can't get that link from the platform. So therefore I can't continue with this work because I'm waiting for the platform, for the link.
00:32:08
Speaker
So now I gotta to go somewhere else. So like, there is a reminder that I put on myself. There's a timer, excuse me, that I put, I'm like, okay, And then another big one is i use a lot Instagram. That's my favorite platform, but I know not everybody loves it, but that's not the point.
00:32:29
Speaker
And I typically go on Instagram and I set my daily time for one hour. That means that I can only be on Instagram for one hour throughout my day. And obviously I'll scroll from time to time because I'm using it when I'm on the platform for myself, for our business or for my personal brand.
00:32:47
Speaker
And by putting that daily reminder, it allows me to be like, Oh, I've been on here for an hour. Wow. I've wasted time for a whole hour to scrolling through. i mean, unless I'm answering messages, I like to scroll through and check out other people's content. Like I don't need to be doing that. I need to be creating my own content to post it on social media.
00:33:04
Speaker
I don't need to be the consumer. i need to be the business that I want you to buy from. So you have to start thinking the other way around. So that is for you as and a newcomer.
00:33:16
Speaker
now If you are already doing that or if you already have your own structure throughout the day and you already feel like you have your ducks in a row, more power to you. Those were just my tips. Now, if you're looking for the business side of things, there are a few things that you can do. they are...
00:33:33
Speaker
For example, I like to use autoresponder for my email. So people like for my business email, like if people are sending us messages, I put an autoresponder so that people know that I'll get back to them within a certain amount of time. And then when that day comes or when that time comes, I respond to them prior or I or I can do the research on what needs to be done.
00:33:56
Speaker
Then there are other things that I would also suggest if you are going to be selling digital products or or or real products or tangible products, you can also use funnel.
00:34:09
Speaker
So I would suggest using a funnel um platform or If you're not going to be selling anything that is not or it's just like a one on one coaching session, you don't need funnels or maybe you do if you're selling a course.
00:34:24
Speaker
Yeah, you can use that. You can also do a um
00:34:30
Speaker
a email platform that will help you like subscribe your subscribers, your audience to follow you or excuse me, to provide you with your information where with their information, with your phone number and their email address. So you can always reach them by email because if tomorrow your social media were to go down, if tomorrow you got banned from TikTok or you got banned from Facebook or you get banned from Instagram, you lose all the million followers you have, right? You will lose all of that.
00:34:58
Speaker
So what do you do? Do you get back on the platform and recreate a million followers? Like, what is it that you do? You know, you're stuck because you're like, wow, I just lost all of that. So the best way to keep your audience is by having a mailing list, an email list.
00:35:12
Speaker
And I would strongly suggest for you to start looking at platforms that do mailing lists. and a funnel. If the two of them are together, it's a win-win.
00:35:23
Speaker
So those are, so the auto reply, the email, the email platform, and a funnel are the three things that I would tell you to get started, obviously in a website. So those are the four things I'll tell you to get started with.
00:35:35
Speaker
How about you, Kiki? So I'm not really savvy on the business side. I will be honest about it. I'm still ah growing in that, and I'm being taught by a wonderful person, Naya.
00:35:47
Speaker
Um, so I have, been I'm very grateful to have her to lean on when it comes to stuff like that. But when it comes to just personally, it for me, it's definitely like setting up reminders, uh, uh, itemizing things on like my calendar. This is what needs to get taken care of.
00:36:07
Speaker
Um, I enjoy doing things in like 15. I like to do every once in a while I do it. I don't do it very often. But I like to try and set a timer of like 15 to 20 minutes. And I'm like, this is what I need to get done.
00:36:23
Speaker
And by the time this timer goes out, I should have A, B and C taken care of at that point. And you will be amazed by how much you can actually get done in your day.
00:36:36
Speaker
When you when you put yourself into that, like that time block, you're like, OK, this is what I need to focus on. Nobody else can talk to me. but The phone is over there. This is what needs to get taken care of the amount of stuff you can get done.
00:36:51
Speaker
So I do like using reminders. I do like I like a love a list. um So I had actually seen this from someone online and he says before he goes to bed,
00:37:05
Speaker
He makes his, what does he call it? He calls it. My get shit done list. And I loved that because was like, yeah, get shit done. That makes sense. Especially if you're on, on entrepreneur, you're in business.
00:37:20
Speaker
These are the things that need to happen. And then your day can go ahead and progress. So absolutely aside that's what I would say. Definitely reminders, um, uh, doing like quick bursts of time to, to get certain things done.
00:37:38
Speaker
um because you can accomplish so much with it. I do the same that he does, actually, because you shared that with me. or No, you didn't share it. It was on your story, and I saw it and I was like, oh, yeah, that's what I do, too.
00:37:50
Speaker
I love the fact that he did say that, it's and this is very important, so I hope you guys are listening to this, but like, when he said, your mind gets so going because you're thinking of all the things that you have to do.
00:38:06
Speaker
And so what happens is that some people like to write it down, some people don't. Some people keep it in and they're like, oh, i remember tomorrow, i remember tomorrow, and we forget it. or Or we don't forget it, but we do remember it. But the thing is that we go to bed with all that things that to do, that get shit done list, and we go to bed with it, and then in the morning we wake up and we're not sleeping really well because our mind's so focused on that.
00:38:28
Speaker
The best way to sleep well is to write down your stuff. Rather, you want to write it down or you want to put it on a reminder and get that done. So that like that, you can go, you can put your head on the pillow and sleep like a beautiful baby and have wonderful dreams.
00:38:43
Speaker
Because your mind doesn't have to think about, remember this, remember that. No, throw it in the app. That's what it's there for. It's literally a called reminder. You want to go like get shit done list? Then it's a get shit done list. But you need to do that because you cannot keep your mind with all of those things.
00:38:57
Speaker
Even if it's responding to a text to somebody, even if it's like responding to an email, responding to your aunt, responding to your dad, responding to a business, a coworker, whatever it is, write it down.
00:39:08
Speaker
It doesn't matter. What is it that you need to get done tomorrow? Let's start that tomorrow, for example, and put it down into the, to the reminder or put it down on your paper, whatever is going to work for you, your phone, your paper, but get that done because it will help you sleep and it will help you take all of that. So you don't have to, to hurt yourself.
00:39:27
Speaker
I, cause I find that to be hurtful for us. It not a good thing to do. Yeah. mean, how many times have woken up and you're like, wait, did I do this?
00:39:39
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. You're like 100% helps. I agree. Totally agree. I think that, and that was one thing when he said that I was like, Oh yeah, like I've i've been doing that for a while now, like writing it.
00:39:52
Speaker
I didn't write everything. I wrote the stuff that were like important, but when he was like write everything down your text message to who you have to respond this on the other. And i was like, yeah, he's onto something because ever since I've been doing that, I'm like, I'm sleeping well. Like I remember my dreams now. Can you say the same thing?
