00:00:46
Speaker

See, it's good thing that y'all are called the kingdom because there is only one nation, and that is the Raider Nation. So I'm happy to be on with y'all talking a little football today.
00:01:08

Wrestling Highlights

00:01:47
Speaker
Hey, talk everything. Talk everything. By the way, you know, love that AJ Styles and John Cena match. If you didn't see it, if you call yourself a ring.
00:01:58
Speaker
Talk about hitting every major spot you could think of. They even hit Michelle McCool's spot. Damn. Hey, that's how irrelevant she is that I didn't even know that she had a finisher that they can even copy. That's crazy, bro. It's pretty much just ah the Styles Clash. But Undertaker said thank you for ah for copying it.
00:02:21
Speaker
Which was a great troll. I loved it. It was tremendous. That's funny. Oh, man. That is funny right there. um So, all right, Omar.

Pete Carroll and Raiders' Strategy

00:02:31
Speaker
Let's start here, man. You guys got Pete Carroll as your head coach this year.
00:02:36
Speaker
And there was some discourse because, you know, Pete Carroll's a little older. You know what I'm saying? And we all know that Pete Carroll's a Hall of Fame coach. That goes without standing. My man's a Hall of Fame coach.
00:02:46
Speaker
But, you know, he's a little older and things have not gone as great for y'all this season. So what is the temperature around Pete Carroll right now? Oh, I mean, very lukewarm at Ben.
00:03:00
Speaker
ah Not even, i wouldn't even say close to hot. They love what Pete Carroll has brought in terms of culture, in terms of the the thing around bringing in an old coach, an older coach who, you know, congrats to him, just, I think, celebrated what is 70th or 71st, something like that, whatever. Birthday. So happy birthday to him.
00:03:21
Speaker
And also just got his 171st win. So, you know, little comparison there, but What they expected was him to bring in a culture of stability, a culture of winning.
00:03:34
Speaker
Pete Carroll has not won less than seven games in his entire NFL career. Now, he played with a good franchise with Seattle. He is with a bad franchise, a booty juice franchise, so to say, with the Raiders. And we have been.
00:03:53
Speaker
We have been since the great Al Davis, may he rest in peace, ah left. And even a little before he left because he started doing some craziness there at the end. But the the franchise in general has been in shambles since we went to the 2002 Super Bowl against Tampa Bay and got thoroughly whooped because they kept John Gruden's playbook.
00:04:12
Speaker
Aside from that fact and me lamenting, um bringing back bad memories, Pete Carroll was brought in to bring a winning culture. And so they expected with him, with Tom shady i'm i'm sorry tom Brady,
00:04:25
Speaker
ah that we would be able to bring stability and winning to the Raiders in the future. That's why all these people have been brought in.
00:04:36
Speaker
That's why all these big names have been brought in to support that vision. um So they're going to give Pete Carroll all three years that they paid him. he's not gonna He's not going to get fired early because we suck because we've sucked for the past 20 years, so does it fuck doesn't matter anyways.
00:04:53
Speaker
Excuse my language, my bad. You get it, you get it. So, yeah, that's what he was brought in for. So no no way he's getting fired.

Geno Smith and Raiders' Offense

00:05:00
Speaker
Okay, for sure. um Now, Geno Smith, when you guys signed him, you know, um when I saw it, I was like, all right, Geno's good. He's an above-average quarterback who can keep stability in an organization. You know what I'm saying? He he can throw the football down the field.
00:05:21
Speaker
you give him the right pieces around him, dude is pretty good. Well, it hasn't. It's been a rough start. You know what I'm saying? He's got 10 interceptions on the season already. he's he's had He's not having a good season. You know, last week he had a pick, but he probably his best game in a while was last week, but it was the Titans.
00:05:40
Speaker
But still, you what I'm saying? You got to play the teams in front of you. ah What is the overall feeling with Geno? Are you all done with Geno? Are you like, let's ride it out. How are you feeling?
00:05:52
Speaker
Yeah, again, it's it's similar to the last question, stability. We haven't had any stability at quarterback since Derek Carr left. Geno Smith, even though he has played and not as well as we were hoping for from what we saw in Seattle, he's also, as you mentioned, not...
00:06:11
Speaker
armed with the same talent that he had in Seattle, and particularly not the weapons per se, because he has GNT, he has Myers, he has you know ah Trey Tucker, he has Brock Bowers, he has Michael Mayers.
00:06:26
Speaker
So we've got Raheem Mostert. We've got a good weapons. The offensive line is the worst booty juice of the booty juice that involves the Raiders. And it has been for a while.
00:06:37
Speaker
The only damn good lineman we've had has been Colton Miller, who has been there for 12 damn years, however long. And he's great. Been in the top 10, 15 tackles his whole career.
00:06:49
Speaker
There's been nothing else to support the Raiders in that, in that, in that way for the the last 20 years. Now, We've got some young kids that we're hoping are developing, but that's the thing is they're all first and second year players.
00:07:03
Speaker
Now Colton Miller is hurt. Now you're playing some dude named Stone Forsythe. Who the deuce is Stone Forsythe? Yeah. yeah I don't know either, but he's our left tackle.
00:07:15
Speaker
So when you put these players into place, ah shots, firestone, force. I know you, asked but I apologize. I know you are. um When you put these things into place, you're not going to have enough time for Geno, who is a statuesque pocket quarterback to throw the ball.
00:07:33
Speaker
Gino ain't running. He ain't scrambling. Every time he gets pressure, he just goes down most of the time because he knows his abilities. And that's fine if you know your abilities, but that type of quarterback needs an offensive line that can give them the required proper amount of time.
00:07:50
Speaker
This offensive line cannot do that, and no matter how many short throws you throw to Trey Tucker or you throw to Jacoby Myers, if you're throwing, which he has six, interceptions on the years between the stripes, and your receivers are always running between the stripes, and your running back can't get more than 2.1 yards a carry on 31 carries last game because your offensive line sucks, well, Geno is really going to suck too, and it's been proven.
00:08:17
Speaker
through his play this year. Now, he also needs to take more care of the ball because he's been very, very reckless with the ball. He's just been throwing into double and triple coverage like he doesn't give a and I'm like, all right, dude, we know that you got job security, but at least try not to throw the game away.
00:08:34
Speaker
yeah man
00:08:38
Speaker
That man's selling. Yeah.
00:08:41
Speaker
ah Tell me about it. me You guys did pick Ashton Gentry with your first round pick. And, you know, we all know the the the clout that came with Gentry coming out of a college. He was one of the best in the nation at Boise State.
00:08:57
Speaker
me living out here in Vegas, you know, I watch UNLV football. So I got see JNT a few times and yeah, dude is, dude's incredible. um But you know, there's a lot of discourse with him. I think personally, you just

Chip Kelly's Coaching Challenges

00:09:11
Speaker
talked about it. Your office line. I think my man came,
00:09:14
Speaker
get through the hole if he ain't got no offensive line. And then Chip Kelly was trying to change my man's running stance. And then finally, Jinty was like, bump that. I'm not doing that no more. Let me go back to my real running stance so I can run. But how are you guys, you know, your thoughts on Jinty? I know early, but what are your thoughts on?
00:09:35
Speaker
Yeah. Uh, there's again, there's, there's nothing, not that you asked that question, but there's nothing like he's be benched for most or anything like that. That's not even ah thing. Everybody knows what you just said.
00:09:49
Speaker
The two things that you just pointed out. And I'm about to get a little angry. Cause you mentioned the name of Mar Mar knows that name that gets me a little, little angry. Uh, but let's start with the offensive line.
00:10:02
Speaker
Yes. Um, Defenders, and this was a stat I got last week ago, little professor's fun fact for you. Defenders were meeting Janty at the line or behind the line of scrimmage, 32 out of 47 first attempts.
00:10:17
Speaker
yeah He had 0.9 adjusted yards before contact. That means he doesn't even get a yard before he's getting hit. like Even worse, the his stacked box rate in which other teams were stacking the box with eight or more players was just at the league average.
00:10:36
Speaker
People know your offensive line sucks. He was still having the eighth rushing success rate. um for the Raiders in the past couple games when he started to get acclimated after you said he changed his stance back to his regular stance because they tried to make him go down low instead of his straight up Michael Myers stance that they call it.
00:10:58
Speaker
So that change should have never been made. If a person has been running some way their whole career, don't think that you're just going to now tell them, oh, you need to run. That's going to help them. ah Fix your off offensive line.
00:11:11
Speaker
yeah and ah Yeah, exactly. Fix your offensive line. And the last thing, Don't hire Skip and Kelly because he sucks.
00:11:22
Speaker
Hey, he sucks. All right. He hasn't been good since Oregon. And then he tried to go to Philadelphia with them spread principles. It only worked for a little bit before everybody caught on. And then everywhere he's gone since then, including my beloved UCLA Bruins that you left in ruins,
00:11:44
Speaker
He

AFC West Analysis

00:11:45
Speaker
sucks. Yeah, great. Now he's gone. he ah He sucks as a play caller. And this is getting horrible. Like scheme for your running back. If you know your offensive line sucks, scheme for that.
00:11:55
Speaker
Give him plays running outside the zone to get him a little headway to use his young speed. Or if you don't want to run him up the middle every damn time because Chip Kelly likes to run 12 and 13, four tight end sets, jumbo package. Like, who is this?
00:12:10
Speaker
who What aliens came down and took the real chimp Chip Kelly? Because can he come back? Because I want him to go back and coach UCLA if you can find the all real one. If not, get this bum the hell out of here because he can't coach no more.
00:12:23
Speaker
um that bad that's great But I agree. yeah I've always said Chip Kelly's not a he's not a NFL coach. He's just not. His schemes are not meant for NFL. It's meant for college. That's what they meant for it.
00:12:40
Speaker
He might have success in the high school level. you know At this point, that's about to be the only place because even in college last time, he he sucked at UCLA. But yes, in college, at least you can fool young coordinators and and young players that haven't developed fully yet. So sure.
00:12:58
Speaker
He did good at Ohio State. I mean, I would say that was more a product of the team. He was terrible. I mean, you could you could have thrown me and and Ryan Day out there, and I think we would have got the same championship.
00:13:13
Speaker
yeah All right, let's go on the defensive side. Patrick Graham, he is your defensive coordinator. We all know what Max Crosby represents. He's probably top. He's not even probably. He's top five defensive end in this league right now.
00:13:25
Speaker
One of the best. um But I actually feel like your defensive line has played really well this year. I think it's vastly improved. I think it's your back end. That's the question on your team.
00:13:37
Speaker
I actually think your defensive line is actually playing well, but speak to your defense, you know de Patrick Graham, his scheme, and how you feel about your defense. Yeah, I'm loving at least the development of the defense this season. I thought that they would be More of a weak point because of the, as you mentioned, the back end, right? The linebackers especially um were going to be tough ah because we had lost all of our linebackers that from last season, um which weren't that good to begin with, but we had lost them anyways.
00:14:12
Speaker
And then our secondaries. um You know, we got rid of, again, most of the players, full overhaul from last year. And now we got a note whole new set of guys in that fit Pete Carroll's mold of safeties and linebackers. But then that means you're starting over all new.
00:14:29
Speaker
And these players have to gel together. These players have to learn how to play in a scheme if they haven't played in Patrick Graham's scheme yet. um But again, as you mentioned, they've gelled well. That does help when you have, and i I know you said top five. I believe he's top three, and that's not even Homer.
00:14:49
Speaker
um i just The way that Max Crosby plays the game, ah i mean, he is always per pressuring the quarterback. He is always getting past the linemen.
00:15:04
Speaker
no matter how good they are. So the way that he plays is high mortar. He never gives up. He's always going going, going, going, going is a great way to teach other young players how to play the game.
00:15:16
Speaker
um So, you know, Tyree Wilson, the guy on the other end, right? You got Malcolm Koontz at another end. ah Jonah LaLulu has been playing great. He had two sacks this past week. He's been playing really well this season. Thomas Booker.
00:15:31
Speaker
is a veteran and came in and brought a veteran presence to the defensive line. So all these defensive linemen that you're talking about have really helped, uh, Las Vegas. And, um, so the particular, you know, we sit sixth in rush EPA expected points per, uh,
00:15:49
Speaker
ah play allowed. um And we're holding opposing running backs to just four yards per carry. So we're playing pretty well at the run game. The passing game a little different, as you mentioned, the back end still a little a little rough there. We're still working players in. We got yeah you know Eric Stokes, Caillou Blue Kelly, um and Porter.
00:16:10
Speaker
So we got these players that still need to gel together as well with the linebackers. Good play this past weekend. Devin White, Has resurgent hit career, interception, tackles for loss yesterday.
00:16:22
Speaker
um Jamal Adams. Everybody knows Jamal Adams. He's a little longer in the tooth. He needs to get back into fitness and shape. But I believe that this defense, just to answer your question as um as a whole, is on the way up for sure.
00:16:35
Speaker
For sure, for sure. um Let's get into the AFC West man. um it but you know i'm not saying this to brag man. Like, you know, we all come to say the chiefs have ran this division for the past years you know nine years um but the chargers look like they have made a resurgence and then the chargers that always happen every year they they the injury bug gets them and they lost both their tackles they lost you know khalil mac is out he probably come back in a couple of weeks they lost both of their running backs like they're they're kind of willing over there they're
00:17:15
Speaker
Looking at, you know, there's reports of him trying to get on the trade deadline to get a running back and offensive lineman. And then, you know, the Broncos are, you know, their defense is really, really good.
00:17:27
Speaker
nio we We need to start talking about Nick Benito a lot more because that kid is nice. And their defensive backfield is nice, too, with, you know, Sertan and all those boys over there.
00:17:38
Speaker
But their offense is so inconsistent. Like you don't know what you're going to get week to week with Bo Nix. You know what I'm saying? Like one minute he looks good, next minute he doesn't. And it's just like, yeah, you know I'm saying? um And then, of course, you know you know, Chiefs this year, we've been up and down first few games. We're kind of off starting to hit our stride a little bit on the offense. Defense has been solid for the most part, getting Rasheed Rice back this week. So I think that's going to help our offense on the uptick. So, yeah.
00:18:07
Speaker
As a whole, how do you feel about the AFC West?
00:18:12
Speaker
Yeah, I feel that at the beginning of the season, i and we did the NFL Superseason preview Mar was on on Ball and Buds.

Chiefs as AFC West Contenders

00:18:21
Speaker
And I had said that I still thought the Chiefs were, and I still do, honestly. I still do now, even with them being a 3-3. Still the team to beat.
00:18:32
Speaker
um As long as you have... ah Patrick, I don't know his middle name, Kermit the Frog Mahomes. LeVar. LeVar. Oh, is it LeVar? Okay. We're not going to that. made that um Did you invite a Raiders fan on your podcast and expect something different to come from this?
00:18:51
Speaker
um i't know what I don't know what you wanted it from me. Anyways, as long as you have Patrick Mahomes, to be serious, you are You are the number one team in that division until further notice.
00:19:05
Speaker
Unless, God forbid, something were to happen like injury or anything like that. He is what runs that team. And it's shown as Travis Kelsey has come a little bit back down to earth. I saw you talking.
00:19:16
Speaker
I saw y'all talking crap about my girl, Tay-Tay. I just want to let y'all know. Hey, life of a showgirl. Biggest hit in history, equivalent of 5.5 million global units in the first week, Mar.
00:19:32
Speaker
So, okay. she I know. No, it really is, though. It really don't don't mean nothing like back in the day when you had to go to the bodega and buy a CD. You know what mean? When you had to go to whatever we used to have back, Tower Records.
00:19:46
Speaker
um Anyways, let me get back to the... So the Chiefs, they are... They are the number one in my eyes to ah so further notice. And I still believe in that even with their slow start.
00:20:00
Speaker
um Travis Kelsey easily... I mean, has been having a slow start the past few seasons anyways, but kind of picks up a little bit into the season. And that happens with old veteran legs. So I expect him to be better down the stretch.
00:20:15
Speaker
The defense, Chris Jones, I mean, that defense was, but that especially the run defense, the pass defense was a little shaky. But the run defense especially and the defensive line led by Chris Jones are just, you know, a force to be to be reckoned with. So I believe...
00:20:31
Speaker
that the chiefs are still number one here. And I think that they will still be number one at the end of the year. Uh, the chargers, uh, I believe that the chargers need to make all of the moves that you said, because yes, you're right.
00:20:44
Speaker
They lost their two starting tackles. Um, they, they, they've been losing players left and right, including my beloved kill Leo Mack, who I still love. Uh, so, um, uh, uh,
00:20:55
Speaker
these players who have been hurt are some of the best players on the team. You're going to take a hit. And then you look at their running backs. They're on Kamani Vidal and Hassan Hoskins right now because all three other ones got hurt before he came they came along. So it's been a rotating cast of characters there. Thankfully, their wide receiver room has been stable, especially with the returning of Kareem ah um Kareem Hunt. I don't know why.
00:21:24
Speaker
Thank you. I was about to say Kareem Hunt. um But, ah yeah, Kareem Hunt, he's he's there on your on your team. Anyways, the Chargers, I believe, if they can get the right reinforcements, will still make the playoffs.

AFC Playoff Prospects

00:21:38
Speaker
I believe that the AFC has taken a hit, especially with the Lamar Jackson injury. um and the poor play of the Dolphins, and the Bengals having the Joe Burrow injury. So all of these things have taken some of those main contenders away from the AFC, which leaves the door more open for a um a Los Angeles, ah denver a even the Chiefs at three and three to all get into the playoffs. I mean, all three, even Denver.
00:22:09
Speaker
Now, is denver is Denver probably going to? No, they're still young. They still need, but the den the defense, like you said, is there. And if Bo Nix, mean, Bo Nix, Yeah, Bo Nix and Sean Payton can finally get on the same page and use their weapons correctly because they have a great wide receiver, ah young wide receiver core there with Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin.
00:22:31
Speaker
um You know, they've got a good cast there. So if they can get They can especially get their their running game to go. We'll see what happens with ah RJ Harvey. But if they can get their running game to go, they can win some games.
00:22:45
Speaker
They had a tough schedule to begin with. Their schedule actually gets a little easier in the second half of the season. They may be able to sneak into the playoffs. So I'm calling Chiefs and Chargers definitely in.
00:22:57
Speaker
Broncos maybe or maybe not. Raiders, a booty juice record of less than four wins. Yeah. Blessed in four is crazy. ah and No, Mar, I'm telling you.
00:23:09
Speaker
So, you know, like, like, okay. So there are pirates. There are real pirates. I ain't talking like pirates of the Caribbean, but there are real pirates out there on the seas that rob other boats, right?
00:23:22
Speaker
These pirates, they're nasty. They're grungy. They drink all day, right? They just want to, you know, do their job, get paid and do and do and do a lot of nasty So imagine those people on a hard day of work after stealing a boat and they're drinking the alcohol and some alcohol spills down the back of one of them and just runs down.
00:23:44
Speaker
bar ones now and And it comes out and that's the juice you drink. That's what the Raiders are. yeah
00:23:52
Speaker
Booty juice. Booty juice. Booty juice.
00:23:58
Speaker
You stupid old. Oh, man. Hey, but you know what? Hey, but you know what? I'm glad you always kept it real because ah when the schedule came out, I looked at your schedule. I said, man, they might mess around and be five and two by the time we get to get them. a journey That's how I feel. We might be 0 and 5. And O always, he's like, bro, get off that ledge, bro.
00:24:19
Speaker
Get off that one. And I should have listened to you because obviously, you know, i look, i watch I watch more than just Chiefs football. No, I know you do. Oh, I know you do. And the fact that you was like, nah, but it ain't.
00:24:32
Speaker
ah For me, for me, I think it's just a huge disconnect and you're starting to see the wrinkles of you know it wasn't uh it was an indirect kind of shot at chip kelly but even pete carol was starting to go out in the media and kind of start to say a couple of little slick shit and uh you know kind of uh kind of throwing the you know the little proverbial bus over chip kelly so um when you start seeing stuff like that uh i me personally i don't think uh chip kelly's gonna be there too much more
00:25:03
Speaker
too much longer. i Just because, like, come on, man. Like, you're messing with a guy's stance that got him to the league. Don't mess with it. um You know, you you think you're the smartest man in offensive room.
00:25:15
Speaker
And granted, you you got a lot of football knowledge, but come on, man. ah Your whole NFL coaching career ain't been too sexy, bro. It ain't been too cute. so but And last coaching career until the last Ten years. ah And yeah, you know you're right. he's He's going to be the first to go.
00:25:33
Speaker
He's definitely going be the first to go. He's going to take the the bullet for this season. I don't believe he even is here past next season unless Pete Carroll somehow saves his job for him.
00:25:45
Speaker
Which would be a mistake. Which would be a mistake. Yes. I do want to get your overall feeling in the AFC as a whole because it is kind of, it's not as strong as it was in years past. You know, like you mentioned, the Joe Burrows is out.
00:26:03
Speaker
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are going through what they're going through with their defense. Not looking too good, although they did look good last week, but Lamar is out. He's hurt. He probably be back. ah this week. um And then you have Buffalo. Buffalo doesn't look as strong. Their defense can't stop nobody.
00:26:20
Speaker
ah Their offense is, you know, they' they've kind of reverted back to, you know, Josh Allen go make something happen type offense. And I've always said that that ah offense is a recipe for disaster for the Buffalo Bills. They need to run the football get the ball to cook more.
00:26:34
Speaker
and let josh allen just throw the football you know sparingly here and there you know i'm saying but they don't do that they've kind of reverted back to this uh make a play josh allen save us hero ball type stuff and he tends to make mistakes and then you have the emergence of the colts who look good this year daniel jones looks like he's going to be comeback player of the year and Their defense is actually pretty good, and even though they kind of struggle with the Cardinals, but you know whatever. They still look good this season. So what is your overall feel of the AFC as a whole?
00:27:08
Speaker
Yeah, ah to to start with the East, because it just helps me the best because you were talking about the Bills. um You're right. ah James Cook is an underutilized asset. James Cook, ah the past couple of years, has been a running touchdown machine that has consistently helped the Buffalo Bills to stay out of that Josh Allen hero ball.
00:27:31
Speaker
um And this year, they've gotten away from that. ah They need to go back to that. They need to reestablish that because you can't always ah rely on younger receivers and players.
00:27:45
Speaker
injured tight ends. I mean, they're they've got two good tight ends, but one of them is always injured. So yeah I think they'll be fine because they are in the East, which obviously, you know, you've got the got Patriots and and Drake May on the come up.
00:28:03
Speaker
ah A good young team on the come up. Can they make the playoffs? Maybe. ah We'll see. ah But they're a good young team for the future either way. they are ah the And then you got the Dolphins.
00:28:17
Speaker
Complete shit show. what that Whatever the hell happened this year, they need to completely tear that establishment down and and rest and restart because there's nothing to do there.
00:28:28
Speaker
You've already paid Tua, so you have to keep him. At this point, I i guess you you either find someone that can coach Tua or you bring McDaniel back, hoping that he regains his glory.
00:28:41
Speaker
um But everybody else got to go. ah You could keep Jalen Wild, but Tiger Hill got to go. um Like, you gotta you just got to start over. You need something fresh. ah So um actually don't think his seat is hot at all until they maybe don't make the playoffs.
00:28:58
Speaker
But um anyways, and then you got the oh, God.

Jets and Quarterback Challenges

00:29:03
Speaker
And you got the Jets. Oh, the lonely, lonely Jets.
00:29:09
Speaker
Damn, I was so wrong. thought I saw something early in the season. I'm like, nope, the Jets are the Jets. They're back. I don't know what you saw with Aaron Glenn and the Jets, and it ain't Aaron Glenn's fault.
00:29:23
Speaker
I'm going to tell you what I saw. good ahead Go ahead. yeah yeah I'll tell you what I saw. They were very competitive week one. Should have won it against Pittsburgh. ah They played a very close game against Tampa Bay. Had a chance to win it, and i So some of those games up front in the season, I'm like, oh, they're playing, you know, this don't look like the same Jets that you could just, it looked like they had a different type of vibe because Aaron Glenn.
00:29:49
Speaker
And that's what I thought it was. And then as soon as we now here was six weeks later, I'm like, nah, these motherfuckers, the Jets, bro.
00:29:58
Speaker
They don't matter at all. I mean, with the Jets, look, they're bad. Don't get it twisted. But I mean, outside of maybe one or two games, They've been in like one-score games.
00:30:10
Speaker
and Like if the ball bounces a certain way, we might be looking at the Jets a little differently, but, you know, whatever. And that's football too, but I also believe that they, like the Bears before them, ah do they don't Justin Fields is not used properly.
00:30:27
Speaker
Justin Fields needs to run the ball. Justin Fields is a quarterback that needs his legs used, and unfortunately these teams that have had him I have not used his legs aside from the Bears for like eight games a few years ago.
00:30:40
Speaker
And he was awesome. He was an MVP candidate for those eight games. And the Bears were looking halfway decent. ah So if you don't know how to use Justin Fields, there will be a problem. So maybe Aaron Glenn needs to find another quarterback, but he's not. He's a defensive quarterback. So how is that?
00:30:55
Speaker
going to help unless the offensive coordinator can be an offensive coordinator that works with Justin Fields or your next QB who you draft because the Jets could go Okay? Because the Jets, the Jets some booty juice as well. Mar, you know when you mar you know when you look up into the sky And you see the beautiful, beautiful clouds on a sunny, just bright blue day, right?
00:31:20
Speaker
And then all of a sudden you see some black stuff just come down from, you're like, what is that? And you hear on your radio, because for some reason it's 1950 and you have a transistor radio, you hear...
00:31:32
Speaker
that a pilot above says, oh, we're leaking oil, right? That's the type of booty juice that the Jets are, my friend. The leaky jet that's about to crash. but Oh, by the way, Mar, guess who the Jets play next?
00:31:49
Speaker
Oh, man, don't say it ain't so. Not the Panthers. No, no, no.
00:31:56
Speaker
Now, Chris been on his Panthers train since the beginning of the season. And ah the Cowboys sold for him last week. The Falcons decide not to play.
00:32:07
Speaker
And who else they beat? i Yeah, I'm just like, come on, man. I ain't got time for this crap. They beat the Dolphins, too, I think. Yeah, they beat the Dolphins. And then I'm like, oh, Lord. They're about to beat the Jets, man.
00:32:21
Speaker
My prediction is alive. ah ah The wild card is still open.
00:32:30
Speaker
I can't. I can't. Nah, let me stop. But nah, go ahead. Go ahead. No, you got it. So anyway, so yeah, so Colts 5-1, as you mentioned, surprise team in the AFC.
00:32:45
Speaker
I don't like like be necessary hyping up of resurgent quarterbacks because I believe they will eventually come back down to earth um even in the playoffs especially like we saw with Sam Darnold last year returning to pumpkin form um I do not believe Daniel Jones is long for this success that he is having now i like maybe Shane Steichen is the right play caller for him the right coach for him ah then that's fine now Jonathan Taylor on the other hand
00:33:18
Speaker
Beast. Love me some Jonathan Taylor. Michael Pittman, if they can start consistently getting him the ball again, great. Tyler Warren, great. yeah So they've got to theyve got the the the the weapons.
00:33:30
Speaker
um And they've got a good young defense. It flies around. If they tie the ends when taking out their corners in pregame. so Tell them. um and So I think the Colts are actually going to be able to to obviously get to the playoffs, especially with a 5-1 start.
00:33:50
Speaker
But by the time they get there, I believe Daniel Jones will you know fumble all that and they'll turn into the what the Colts usually do. the um Aside from that, you've got a lot of teams I forgot about the Steelers. Let me not forget about the Steelers.
00:34:05
Speaker
We ain't got to say nothing about the Steelers. Mike Tomlin does this consistency every year. H-9 wins every year. You got old man Rogers, but I think that's also a team where he can get you to the playoffs, but how much more can he get you? So, yeah, I think they get there more on the strength of a Mike Tomlin coach who is now proving to people that they need to shut the hell up when they were questioning his job last year. Like he ain't been getting eight, nine wins a year for his whole career.
00:34:28
Speaker
Um, So i think that I think that they're good there. You look a little further down. I'm just looking at the playoff picture. The Jaguars are 4-2. I believe that is not for anything. They're going to completely flame out and not make the playoffs because I believe the Broncos and the Chiefs will get ahead of them.
00:34:45
Speaker
The Texans are just disappointing. this is and no know I know they've been injured again for a second year, but it's just it's depressing to see such a good young team that has the talent.
00:34:57
Speaker
I do think that there are, I think they do have some young wide receivers that they're starting to try to work in the Wells and hit in Higgins. And, you know, their running game is inconsistent. I think Woody Marks, they got to start getting him in play. Hopefully when Joe Mixon comes back, maybe he gets that running game going again. Cause Nick Chubb is just a shell of himself. He's not what he used to mean.
00:35:18
Speaker
That leg injury was just nasty. And, but their defense is championship level defense. Like, they got a defense that win games for you. If they can just get consistency out that offense, Texans can be a good team.
00:35:33
Speaker
Yeah, no no doubt about it. I agree with everything you said. I will say Joe Mixon, they're saying are probably not going to come back. anytime soon. So apparently that leg injury was worse, and that's what they kind of knew it ahead of the season, which is why they brought in.
00:35:48
Speaker
And plus, Woody Marks, as you mentioned, needs to be getting all the work there because the um when you look at the statistics between him and Chubb, his peripherals, his you know advanced statistics are all better than Chubb's are, which makes sense because he's 22 versus 32 who has a knee injury. Yeah. And I'm not trying to force Chubb out the league, but, you know, it's just like when your time is up, father time calls.
00:36:12
Speaker
um and weird So, oh yeah, exactly. Hold on. No when to walk away. i No when to run. Ain't that the truth.
00:36:27
Speaker
And so, I mean, when you' we've we've talked about pretty much all of the contending teams. The rest of them there are going to suck, except one that I want to talk about. And it's talking about you what something that you mentioned just now.
00:36:39
Speaker
um Holding on. It's not looking good. But can the Ravens hold serve until Lamar gets back? Because, again, not looking good at all ah with that record.
00:36:55
Speaker
i've never I don't think I've ever seen anyone. I've got to get a professor's stat on that, but I don't think I've ever seen anybody come back ah from that record and make the Super Bowl. So we'll see. um But if they can if Huntley can win them a game,
00:37:12
Speaker
or two, or if Lamar comes back quicker than possible, they can they can come back. They have the type of team. Now, the problem is they lost $160 million dollars worth of players the last game.
00:37:24
Speaker
So like the San Diego Chargers, they're down all their stars, right? Ronnie Stanley went down. Yeah, Lamar Jackson go down. Yeah, Marlon Humphrey go down. yeah about to say Patrick Queen, he went to Steelers. Yeah.
00:37:36
Speaker
So you had a bunch of players go down. So if they can't get healthy, they're obviously out with the statistic, with the with the record that they have. But if for somehow they can get everybody back, I, even with that defense sucking the way that they do, I believe that a Lamar led Jackson offense that's healthy can still outscore other teams enough to win games.
00:38:02
Speaker
And they also, as the Broncos do, have an easier schedule going into the back half of the season.

AFC Playoff Predictions and Strategies

00:38:10
Speaker
So ah we'll see what happens. But, yeah, it's going to be a very, very tough road for them, and I don't see it happening. But, yeah, so. They got the Bears, the Dolphins, the Vikings, the Browns, the Chitts.
00:38:24
Speaker
Angles, and the Steelers. Very easy. Very easy. That's what I'm saying. If they can get back healthy, Lamar Jackson can beat all those teams by himself. Who's making any these schedules, man? Who'll be giving the Ravens the easy scheduleeding to bills do man yes That might be a good call there.
00:38:46
Speaker
um So yeah, so that's why I'm thinking the Broncos and Chiefs will both sneak in because I think that the Jaguars obviously will fall out. I don't like them at all. And I think that the Patriots um will either fall out or fall all the way down to number seven.
00:38:59
Speaker
So we'll see that. but So the Patriots will get in right at that bottom seven level. I don't think they're above the Bills. So I think they take that last spot. And no I don't think so. i don't think they're bad. all no. The way they went into upstate New York, the color was good. Our trade could.
00:39:21
Speaker
I mean, look, that's that's nothing but ah that's nothing but a 15-minute drive, and maybe they stole the Buffalo Bills mascot to get a mat early like you know like colleges do. But I'll tell you one thing. The New England Patriots lost to the Raiders, so I don't care how much Drake Murray is improving.
00:39:36
Speaker
i don't I don't like any team that beats the Raiders because I don't believe that you're a good team because we're not a good team. you
00:39:45
Speaker
so they So you're saying that we lose to y'all this week, you might need to reconsider everything. You might need to reconsider your lives. You might want to go ah on life support. But that's the thing about it.
00:40:02
Speaker
but Is it in Kansas City? Yeah. yeah the and We talk about this, Mar, all the time. Raiders historically have had success. It's always, it not always, but a lot of times the Raiders have won in Kansas City, um but you know, at least half the times over the past 10 years.
00:40:20
Speaker
So, ah you know, hey, I can always, it's a divisional game. things Stranger things have happened. Now, Brock Bowers is still going to be out, so you don't have to worry about him. That hurts.
00:40:32
Speaker
It does. Well, they're keeping him out on purpose because he has the knee brace on, and Pete Carroll said he can't fully play right and until he gets that knee brace off, and they said it'll be in a couple weeks, so they're just waiting for that.
00:40:44
Speaker
Technically, he could play. So, um anyways, but yeah, I think y'all are one. i think Denver two I mean Denver two. Los Angeles two, Denver three, us four. I think y'all three make the playoffs and we don't.
00:40:58
Speaker
And then, um i mean, i yeah if Baltimore can sneak in, great, but I wouldn't think that they would be able to make a playoff run anyway. So now I've got to choose a new Super Bowl contender because that's who I picked at the beginning of the year. Yeah.
00:41:12
Speaker
All right, let's get into the game then. Let's talk about the keys to the game. So, Omar, on offense, what do the Raiders have to do to win this game? you You give up before they go in? i don't know what you want from me.
00:41:29
Speaker
um No, let me be real. They've got to establish a sense A modicum of a pass game early.
00:41:41
Speaker
And in order to play to the strengths of the wide receivers that we have and Geno Smith, short, quick passes,
00:41:55
Speaker
Out routes, swing passes to the running back. God forbid he starts throwing well within the stripes, maybe a few slants to the quick receivers.
00:42:06
Speaker
Get them going like he did in the I must say the R word that shall not be said. In the commander's game, he's ah If he can get the offense moving like that with plays like that and Janty can get going, here like I said, he had a good game a couple games ago. was just the past game last week that they slowed down.
00:42:28
Speaker
um If they can get that kind of rolling against the Chiefs defense, I think that they can keep it a game in terms of scoring because we do have the ability to open up and have a quick throw, break this down the seams offense.
00:42:41
Speaker
um But otherwise than that, No, they better get the ball out quick because if not, that defensive line going to have Geno Smith down in.25 seconds. He ain't to have no time to throw the ball, and we're going lose in a blowout. So I really hope that they do that.
00:42:55
Speaker
You're asking me. All right, Marv, on defense, what do the Chiefs have to do? I think it's simple. um This is where Show up. No, I'm just kidding.
00:43:07
Speaker
but you know Get off the bus. Yeah. No. um i Look. We got to get, ah I think, ah like you said, keep Noah Williams out there.
00:43:23
Speaker
i Obviously, we know what Chip McDuffie does. You know, Jalen Watson, I think he's had a solid solid season so far. Yeah. Yeah, but we had a solid season so far. So um look, I think it's coverage.
00:43:37
Speaker
um Obviously, the the team has played very well against the run. So I don't think that's a something that i I'm worried about. I'm more worried about making sure that we force Gino into some bad throws because, you know, obviously, you know, he's been playing Black Santa this year. So let's go ahead and get and get them gifts.
00:43:59
Speaker
Stupid. ah I'm just saying, hey, ah we you know we've seen it all all year with Gino. You put the pressure on him. Like you said, he's either just going to go down, try to throw the ball away, or he'll throw it up into double coverage. So I like the latter of that. So let's go ahead and just make sure that um we we force him into some bad throws um because he's already shown in the first six weeks that he's throwing bad footballs.
00:44:27
Speaker
So I think it's that simple, man. So that also goes into ah the pass rush, which is, I think has also been our, I guess our Achilles heel on defense is not consistent pass rush. So that plays into that part too.
00:44:43
Speaker
So. I want to say one more thing, if if I may. um One of the things I know we talked about the game that Kansas City had ah defensively last game, especially and against the run.
00:44:56
Speaker
um but Technically, for the start of the year, at least, right, the run defense has not been as great as in the past, giving up 4.7 yards per carry. So if they have those quick routes, they can open it up for GNT to have those swing passes, to have the outside ah sweeps, and to have even maybe some in-the-tackle runs. so For sure, for sure.
00:45:19
Speaker
Yeah, I'm with Mar. We got to force Geno into some bad passes and we got to get to him. We got to get him seeing ghosts. You know what I'm saying? Get his feet, we rush his brushes his clock, you know what I'm saying, to make him rush his throws so he can throw some picks and possibly get some extra you know ah possessions for the offense. Yeah.
00:45:40
Speaker
And like Mara said, Chris Jones, George Carlisle, Charlie O, anybody, you got to get to the quarterback, man, because this year has been hit or miss. Like even last week when we played the Lions in that first quarter, it wasn't looking too good.
00:45:56
Speaker
And they was marching down the field. But then once they kind of like, you know, we got a lead, it was like, all we can pin our ears back. We can get after the quarterback a little bit. And they started pressuring Jared Goff a little bit more. And it started affecting his throws and in affecting him getting his but getting the ball to the to the wide receiver. So, yeah, it starts with the defensive line with us, man. We got to get to Geno to make him, you know, make mistakes. So that's this definitely on the list.
00:46:25
Speaker
All right, Mara, on offense, what do the Chiefs have to do? ah find Find where 98 is at all times.
00:46:37
Speaker
I think it's that simple. You find where Crosby's at, and you make sure that you throw the whole kitchen and sink at him to slow him down. i I don't need him wrecking the game.
00:46:49
Speaker
I don't because once he gets going, ah that feeds everybody else's on that defense. It feeds their confidence. you know They start feeling good. They're like, oh, well, Max, he's turning up. Let's turn up with him. So I'm fine with 98 set.
00:47:04
Speaker
And, you know, the tackle play, especially over the last few weeks, has been very good. We got to continue that. um That's it. Slow 98 down.
00:47:16
Speaker
That's what we're talking about right there. I think it's that simple. Yeah, I agree. Wherever Max Crosby is, double team, got to do what you got to do. I know you ain' gonna be able to double team all the time, but Jawan Taylor is your game player because he's probably going to be on your side.
00:47:32
Speaker
Or if Jalen Moore is playing, they might put him on that side a lot too because Joshua Simmons is not able to play in this game, they're definitely going Jalen Moore out there and you definitely think the Raiders are going to be like, well,
00:47:45
Speaker
going to pick the backup and, you know what saying, see if he can block the backup. So the backup can block him. So we'll see. You know what I'm saying? So I'm sure they're going to send some chips or some, you know, double teams out there. So, and then Kingsley, because like I said before, this defensive line as a whole is actually played better this year. So Kingsley, Creed, Trey, they're going to be instrumental in when they're rushing the passer too, because,
00:48:09
Speaker
The Raiders defensive line has been pretty good this year. So as a whole, we got to be on on par blocking this defensive line. So to get because if they start getting getting through, you know, my home's as great as he is. He starts pressing a little bit. You know what saying? He starts throwing bad prayer passes. The offense gets out of disarray and Also, this running game has to be efficient. Look, we ain't asking Kareem Hunt and Pacheco to be Jameer Gibbs and and David Montgomery. We asking him to just be efficient, give us three, four yards.
00:48:45
Speaker
And they've been doing that the past two games. Two games, they've been efficient. They're getting this first down when we needed them, and that's all we could ask for from this running game. And Brashard Smith, I need to see more Brashard Smith, too, out of the passing game.
00:48:57
Speaker
use him. know what saying? He has been effective when they use him, use him passing game. And he is a wrinkle that a lot of teams are not ready for because they haven't seen a lot of them yet. So until teams start game planning for him, use him.
00:49:13
Speaker
Big facts. Yeah. I need to back, I need to back up two things real quick that both of y'all said, because they were spot on, on for the Kansas city is, ah Max Crosby.
00:49:25
Speaker
Max Crosby is the juice that makes the Raiders go. As you said, Mar, if they can get him going at all to get through and start getting a pressure or two, that starts to get everybody else jacked up.
00:49:39
Speaker
And then they want to play harder. And like you said, Chris, well when you are able to... ah have that good pressure and you go against a running game, which is mediocre at best, let's be honest for Kansas city this year, Kansas city better use ah Andy Reed smart enough.
00:49:55
Speaker
One of the smartest coaches in history. He, he better know, use your backs and your extra tight ends on Max Crosby side. is to Screw a running game.
00:50:06
Speaker
You ain't going to be good anyways. Just throw the ball to x Xavier Worthy. We'll see Rice coming back. Just use your back to chip every time. And double-team Matt Crosby every time.
00:50:17
Speaker
You slow him down. You slow the rest of the defense down. You open up your right your your passing game. As all of us said, I love when good football minds, expert football minds get together. That's exactly what you need to do for the Chiefs, and you ah you win this game easily. Just don't use Noah Gray.
00:50:33
Speaker
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. There's no use of no brain on Max Crosby. Like they did on Aiden Hutchinson. Everybody was pissed about that. We're like, what is that? Why'd you do that?
00:50:46
Speaker
First of all, Aiden Hutchinson is good enough to wreck a game. All right? so But if you if if you're having that comparison, Aiden Hutchinson to Max Crosby, Max Crosby is obviously the better pass rusher.
00:50:58
Speaker
So don't you don't you dare put Noah Gray on him. Oh, my goodness. It would be bad. it'd be It was bad on that rap cause um because we almost fumbled the ball. We almost fumbled ball on that play.
00:51:12
Speaker
It would be bad again. You don't give Raiders hope. Lord. Man. Andy, take that out your playbook and scrap that one off. Yeah, for sure.
00:51:24
Speaker
All right, Omar, on defense, what do the Raiders need to do to stop this Chiefs offense?
00:51:31
Speaker
Yeah, aside from obviously getting Max Crosby going, they need to have the best chance, especially after the what the week that devin Devin White had last week, and with the, you know, a little bit resurgence of Jamal Adams getting his legs under him.

Key Players and Game Strategies

00:51:49
Speaker
I believe if they can use those extra linebackers to either get stuck through the gaps or swing towards the outside, especially to that Max Crosby side,
00:52:00
Speaker
Then you make those backs and those tight ends make that decision between do I double team? Do I let this this other guy linebacker swing all the way around? That allows you to get some pressures on the quarterback and you're going to have to get quick pressures on the homes.
00:52:14
Speaker
A, because you know we he can scramble and you know he can run and you know he will. But also because the receivers are very fast and that they're going to get out there and be quick. Rasheed Rice is hunting after being out for six games. So you better believe they're going to be targeting him a lot tonight.
00:52:31
Speaker
I was about to say another word that would have been very pause-worthy. ah So we'll say targeting him tonight. Yeah. So if we can get those linebackers established, ah getting some pressure, and we and we can have the safeties pinned down on those routes, especially those crashing routes, or flare up when those wide receivers are going deep, I believe we can at least get enough pressure to hopefully be able to, you know, obviously stop the running game, but then be able to slow down
00:53:04
Speaker
the passing game. That's our best chance to win is to slow down the passing game because then we can handle the rush at running game, which if Max Crosby is open, then we have the chance to win the game. Otherwise we do not.
00:53:16
Speaker
Yeah, for sure. For sure. All Omar, who are your X factors on offense and defense? Ooh, that's a good one. ah Let's see. ah My X factor on defense. um And I know I just spoke about the linebackers, but because I, um because I gave props to two of them already, I'll pick another person that i ah ah talk i talk about two defensive linemen that I unknown that I talked about earlier though.
00:53:45
Speaker
Um, Jonah Lou and Thomas Booker. If these two defensive tackles can hold down the fort in the middle and get enough pressure on the center and the guards, you allow Max Crosby to get off pause. if um If he, again, if you get him going, your defense all around is ah going to be better.
00:54:08
Speaker
And then in the secondary, Caillou Blue Kelly. He's a young out... Pretty good so far as a cornerback. um But he's still young and he's still learning. This is going to be a test for him.
00:54:19
Speaker
Especially, I don't think they would put him up against, well, shit, I guess you don't have a choice. They both are very fast. I was going to say you probably want to put him against a slower one, but I don't believe i don't know who's slower between Rasheed Rice and Xavier Worthy. So, anyways, okay, we'll just hope he doesn't get burned.
00:54:39
Speaker
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:54:44
Speaker
What you got, Mar? ah Yeah, on defense, Derek Nottie, you got to start showing up, bro. um a don't Don't give me that look.
00:54:58
Speaker
But here's what I'm saying. You know how he starts showing up? Less snaps. How about that? whatever but that's fine i but you know 100 119 119 what crazy seeing that on the worst defensive tackle right on prime crazy seeing it on storm use the worst defenive tackle and and right old pra ah right yes what he Well, that's that's my point, Chris. he's he's I know he saw the replay of that, and I know his people... I know Andy saw that and with the Spanches. going to put Omar Noman a lot in the starting lineup right now. so But but but my my main point is is the snaps that he will get because we do got to... Look, we can't let Ashton Jinty get going.
00:55:41
Speaker
I know. man and he likes her like got I'm with you, look, you can' Can't perform like 119. a You can't do that no more.
00:55:54
Speaker
right like like Come on, bro. like like We traded for you. all right I don't know what... would Look, I get it. You're an original Veatch guy, but the way that you perform... exactly You know what, Joe? That's the smartest thing you've ever said, man.
00:56:11
Speaker
I have these crash lists again. What I'm saying, but but we've also seen Spags, you know, have some unusual, you know, snap counts for people lately. So he whatever. he does Hey, man, look.
00:56:27
Speaker
fit
00:56:29
Speaker
Fix that. All right. On offense. On ah offense. Yeah, just fix that shit. On offense. Hey, you said it best. Rashard Smith.
00:56:40
Speaker
um Not only is he ah ah getting positive yards every time he touches it, in the limited touches that he's getting, um they've also used him as a great decoy.
00:56:51
Speaker
So, come on now. I... You're talking about it could be our version of our Brian Westbrook in his offense, man. um So come on, Andy. and I need you to, i ah again, like like you always say, every you know ab maybe Andy's holding some stuff to the vest and it might unleash it towards the back end of the season. That's fine.
00:57:16
Speaker
But don't don't don't piss me off leading up to the back end of the season. bre Like, at least start getting close. Get ready for the D sheet, though. He got that D playbook out ready. Oh, Lord. Yeah, but hold on. But he he can't do that. i think just this is not the same Raiders defense that we've been seeing over the last couple years.
00:57:41
Speaker
Give him that much respect, Andy. They're like, come on. um move I love Andy. He's going to tell yeah you how he feels about it. little play seat he bring yeah
00:57:53
Speaker
That's true. Yeah, in the weeks, man, it's a good football team. They two and five, but they good. They real good. just had little bumps and bruises, you know, whatever. Game time come. People and all the basic shit.
00:58:07
Speaker
had backda He out at the man playbook ah magnet that but Easy mode. Easy mode. That's crazy. yeah on No trickery, no window dressing.
00:58:22
Speaker
No nothing. That's fine. yeah so everybody guess That's crazy, bro. That's funny. But no, no, but I'm with you. um On offense, ah that's a tough one, man. um um I might have to say the running game, just to keep us honest.
00:58:42
Speaker
she I mean, Kareem Hunt and Isaiah Pacheco, if they can look like how they look the past few weeks, then this offense can get rolling. If we can get to second and short,
00:58:55
Speaker
second and second, third and twos, you know what saying? Even fourth and ones, you know, because we tend to go for it lately on fourth and one, depending on the situation. We can get short yardage stuff out of the running backs to open up this, ah you know, to get us, keep the chains moving.
00:59:11
Speaker
So to keep this offense flowing, I'm all for that. And that that comes with Kareem Hunt, that comes from Isaiah Pacheco. But if Isaiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt having a good game, This game could look closer than what it should be.
00:59:24
Speaker
So I'm just saying, you know saying? So I don't want it. I don't want Patrick Mahomes be throwing 55 times. That's what I don't want. We don't need that.
00:59:34
Speaker
And I don't want Mahomes to be the leading rusher either. That means that he's going to be taking some unwanted hits that we don't need to be having them take. So, you know, it's Raiders and Chiefs. Raiders going to be headhunting, trying to take my man out. we don't want that.
00:59:47
Speaker
Yeah, they're going to be physical. And then on defense, ah what's a good X? Charlie O. Charles, I mean, you.
00:59:58
Speaker
a He got two sacks. He got two sacks now. George, I'm about sick of you. So Charlie O. No, he's making $70 million a year, Martin. He ain't showing up.
01:00:13
Speaker
I feel you. I feel Charlie O, you got to be the other pass rusher on this defensive line player. I need you. I need you. I need you to make Geno Smith, though, by five picks. No, boy.
01:00:26
Speaker
Hey, Omar, he's starting scratching his head. sixty I look. need too i mean look i don't I don't foresee him throwing less than two. So do so I don't need Geno to be looking like Tom Brady out here because we tend to make guys who have been having bad seasons, they had the greatest season of their life.
01:00:50
Speaker
That's facts. You have 175 yards. What's going on here, What y'all doing? Yeah, those are the facts right there. What position does he play?
01:01:00
Speaker
Who? Oh, many of you. Yeah. Defensive end. Which one though? The right or defensive end? Or do y'all switch a lot? ah They move them. They move them.
01:01:11
Speaker
That's what figured. But the reason I asked then is because I didn't give you my my X factor O yet, but it's right there. It's the O line, right? Our O line has to be able to keep your defensive line. And so if he's lining up at the defensive end, you need to go after Stone Forsythe, which is the new left tackle who's just getting beat beat like an old rug out there on the left end. We're going to make him look like Trent Williams.
01:01:36
Speaker
yeah Well, this is what I'm saying. If you can't get past him, you'll want to try because on the other side, you got DJ Don't... Look, DJ My Last Name Is But I Don't Glaze ah from the University of Maryland, DJ Glaze.
01:01:52
Speaker
um He has been playing... ah per per pff metrics as uh one of the better um you know young starting tackles in the league so i would if i were y'all attack the left tackle who has only been in there two games and use that to open up chris jones getting to play for the chargers i don't know probably i don't remember
01:02:15
Speaker
he's he's not he's only he's not there He's not there for too long. He's only there for their if for and for however long until Miller gets back. ray around too long Not with the way he's been playing.
01:02:28
Speaker
Do you think y'all make a move for offensive linemen? No, hell no. They better not trade nothing. you better You better suck and get the lowest draft pick you can get. Try to get us a good, you know, we're not getting a quarterback because ain't the quarterback class going to be Booty juice this year. This quarterback is going to be... buts not This quarterback... Okay, you know what, Mar? You know what this quarterback is going to be like. Alright, so this booty juice is... Okay.
01:02:55
Speaker
so I want you to imagine that you're a team. And this team, this franchise, about five years ago, made the booty juice decision to give a guaranteed ah contract to a quarterback who was out searching for the booty juice.
01:03:16
Speaker
Okay? Then, after that, this same franchise decided to draft a quarterback in the fifth round after already having three quarterbacks and then now in the middle of the season saying they do not want to play the fifth round and may bring up Bailey Zappi from the practice squad type bullshit. Oh, you talking about the Browns? Yeah.
01:03:40
Speaker
Now you take that franchise and you give us what they've given us over the past 20 years and and as much beer as their fans have to drink to get through those games. And then the next morning when they have the beer shits, that's the type of booty juice I'm talking about.
01:03:59
Speaker
That's that old Bud Light drench.
01:04:05
Speaker
That Bud Light drench. and So anyways, we better suck and get a draft pick. That's what I'm hoping for. So my other podcast, my boy, ma he's ah he's a Raiders fan too.
01:04:17
Speaker
And he's he's much like you. He's a realist. So he's done. He's already out. He's ready for the Lakers. He's ready for the Lakers.
01:04:29
Speaker
Don't blame him. Yeah, ready for the Lakers to start playing. um And he's like the same. He's like, man, we better get a good high draft pick. We better not do what we always do. Like, suck. Like last year when we beat the Jaguars in a fucking worthless game and ended up screwing ourselves out of a top five pick. Yeah, man. That's crazy.
01:04:50
Speaker
Oh, man, don't do that to me. Don't do that to me. I saw that. I saw that. I saw that. The bane of my existence, Jamarcus, your fat ass is how I call it. Your fat ass

Chiefs vs. Raiders Game Predictions

01:05:02
Speaker
Russell.
01:05:02
Speaker
is I take I take game tape home, not knowing what plays is on the game tape when you come back the next day. Hey, man, he got the bag, dog. He got the bag that changed his family's life. and i got it And changed every life of the Raiders ever, including mine.
01:05:20
Speaker
Fucking asshole. I hope he's happy with himself. All right, man. Let's do the Oscar. hope he lives comfortably with those millions because he has millions of Raiders fans who despise him.
01:05:33
Speaker
That's crazy, man. Anyways, yeah, my bad. So what is your score prediction, Omar? All right. So, look, I know earlier I said that Kansas City have played historically well. I mean, Raiders have played historically well in Kansas City.
01:05:51
Speaker
ah That was you are, sir. You have been was it back on Maury? You are the liar whatever. Anyways, we find that ah that has been incorrect.
01:06:05
Speaker
Actually, in the last decade, the Kansas City is seventeen and three against the Raiders, I went and found out. So the the game I was remembering was when I went back in, believe it was 2015, and we won a Christmas game, ah Christmas Eve 12 to 10.
01:06:21
Speaker
was a very shitty game. It was cold, but it was awesome. had a great time in Kansas City. The fans were super nice, even though I was talking shit, and I got barbecue so it was and went to the club. It was a great time.
01:06:32
Speaker
Anyways, ah so that being said, it will be a ah a game that Kansas City wins at home, even on a short week. If you're telling me Kansas City just beat the Lions, who are one of the top Super Bowl contenders, my pick for the Super Bowl in the NFC, ah that tells me that they are they are on the resurgent path. They started off a little slow. Yes, we know. One and three.
01:06:57
Speaker
Back to three and three. I think they're only on the way up. um You combine that with the Raiders just not having a great season. They're only wins coming over.
01:07:09
Speaker
Patriots team, the first game where they hadn't gelled and a shitty Titans team. So when you combine those factors, I have to say that the Kansas City Chiefs are going to win this game.
01:07:20
Speaker
ah That being said, as for the spread, the spread is 12 and a half. The last time Kansas City beat the Raiders by 12 and a half was November of 2023.
01:07:33
Speaker
So while um Kansas City does beat the Raiders at home, ah the Raiders don't always get demolished in Kansas City. Yes, it happens sometimes, but it doesn't it doesn't happen for the most part. It's like they can usually hold up their weight, especially in Kansas City.
01:07:50
Speaker
So I'm going to say the Raiders cover the spread. um I'm going to say the Kansas City Chiefs win the game, and the score is 28-17, so just under the over under yeah
01:08:05
Speaker
Yeah. you gar more i Man, this office is getting better. EG back in the building. I can already see there's going to be a couple.
01:08:18
Speaker
That's probably the only thing Andy's definitely going to bring is just a sliver pages just for Rasheed because he's back. oh Give me 31-17 Chiefs.
01:08:31
Speaker
I think, i you know, they already scored over, what, 30-plus twice already this season. um I think that's more than at least or equal to what they've done last year already and in six weeks. So, um but offense still gets going. um i'm I'm giving a little bit of respect to that Raiders defense because my initial thought was like 35-14. Wait, damn. I was like, man, i thought I was giving respect because my initial thought was 31 and I went down to 20. Yeah.
01:09:03
Speaker
Yeah, i well, because I was thinking 35-14 on the gate, but I was like, eh, this is still is still a divisional game. So um ah thirty thirty one seventeen I'm stick
01:09:15
Speaker
Yeah, I'm going to 31-21. I think the Chiefs get out on them early and just keep the lead. And and did I think the Raiders will get a late like score to you know get to 21.
01:09:28
Speaker
But I think it'll be like thirty one to fourteen most of the game. And then finally, Raiders in the fourth quarter, like last minute, they go down the field, score a touchdown. It'll be 31-21. I think this team is going hyped up because Rasheed Rice is back. I think the crowd is going to be a factor, too. i think they're going to be hyped up to see Rasheed Rice and his offense back.
01:09:46
Speaker
um And i think I think Patrick and them are going to be out there hyped up, motivated, ready to go, put on the show for the home crowd in front of, you know, against the division rivalry,

Conclusion and Week Six NFL Recap

01:09:58
Speaker
the Raiders. And I think they put on the show. And then, like I said, i think you guys will score late touchdown to make it 31-21. So.
01:10:05
Speaker
ah sounds about right all right omar man we appreciate you coming on the show man giving us insight on on the raider side man we always like to bring people on the show man to get uh different perspectives man regardless of who they are you know what saying it's always all love you know we have division rivalry and we hate each other you know what i'm saying but at the end of the day it's still all love because it's all sports Yeah, yeah, no doubt. ah Definitely hate the Chiefs with a passion.
01:10:33
Speaker
um Chiefs are actually the reason, well, the Chiefs and the Bulls are the reason I hate the color red. um So I don't own anything red. I never will. And y'all should be proud of that fact. But I will say I do love my streaming family.
01:10:50
Speaker
um Chris, thank you for allowing me on the show. I appreciate it. Shout out to everybody who watches this show. um And Mar, you know, we brothers, you always on. You're going be on later this week.
01:11:01
Speaker
So I hope. that everyone that does watch this show, even though I am a a punk ass Raider fan to y'all, if you can find it in your heart to like sports and don't worry, I don't talk a lot of Raiders on the channel at all.
01:11:14
Speaker
um We just talk sports in general. Come check out Ball and Buds. ah You know, we're trying to get that subscriber count up. We really appreciate it. Like I said. We don't talk about teams in particular. um We mostly just talk about sports in general and get sports experts on. So like later this week, I'm trying to have Mar and Mel on and we'll just talk baseball, basketball, football, and and and college.
01:11:35
Speaker
And we'll just talk generality. So again, you like sports talk, please come check us out and subscribe. I would really appreciate it. And again, I thank you gentlemen. Again, Ball and Buds, thanks you for allowing us on the show.
01:11:48
Speaker
No problem. No problem. ah appreciate you, old man. Yeah, for sure. ah For real. And well we'll get together and I'll ah i hit you up about the date for us to get on this week. Yes, sir.
01:11:59
Speaker
right. Cool. Peace out, y'all. Appreciate it.
01:12:04
Speaker
Good people's right there. now He's good people. No, he's funny, man. I like him, man. He's funny, man. That's what it's all about, man. Have a good time. No, literally. that was our That was similar to our first interaction. I was like, damn it. Why you got to be a Raiders fan, man?
01:12:17
Speaker
ah Like, you cool, but why you got to be a Raiders fan? But nah, O's always been good people, man. so Yeah, man. um Real quick, man. You know how we do it, man. We do a real, real quick recap of week six.
01:12:33
Speaker
um Overall feeling of week six. You know, week six was kind of weird. You know, it capped off with Thursday. ah The Giants putting the beats on the Eagles.
01:12:45
Speaker
Yeah. o The Eagles look like they're in disarray, especially on ah offense. i Look, man, Jalen Hurts, he missed a couple of touchdowns that could have made that game look a lot different. He missed A.J. Brown on the interception that he threw to Devontae Smith.
01:13:02
Speaker
um He missed another Devontae Smith bomb that was wide open. He would have his head on the goalposts. And that game probably would have looked a lot different, but they got to get it together, man. A.J. Brown, you know, and I knew this was going to happen once the loss happened.
01:13:18
Speaker
That's when that that boil over and you saw with A.J. Brown. You see it with Devontae Smith a little bit, not as much as A.J. Brown, but you can tell them boys is frustrated. You can tell they're frustrated.
01:13:29
Speaker
and uh they gotta figure figure out something figure out a way to get saquon barkley you know involved because last year that was their bread and butter that's why because we we forget that the passing game looked like this last year and then jay brown was frustrated last year but the difference was saquon barkley he was getting going he was he was covering up he was the band-aid they covered all that mess up and then finally they got to the playoffs and fixed a lot a lot of stuff but You can see that these did that is ah when things get crazy around there, I always say you take on the personality of your head coach.
01:14:08
Speaker
They're taking on the personality of Nick Ceriani. Nick Ceriani does not have the ultimate control that he thinks he has. He's a Mauricio. he's very He's very emotional.
01:14:20
Speaker
and He's angry. He has a short fuse. And you see it through his team. they don't They act like they're not together. They act like they... you know, you got AJ Brown talking about, ain't no group meeting, ain't no meeting, what meeting they talking about? Like, you know what saying? Like, even if you didn't have a meeting, you know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? So it's just, you know,
01:14:47
Speaker
It's just something to look at later on down the line. I still think they're talented enough to get to the playoffs, of course, and even win that division because the the Cowboys' defense is terrible. They can score with anybody, but they they their defense is bad. George Pickens was balling Sunday, and they all got messed up because their defense couldn't stop nothing.
01:15:07
Speaker
Hey, Rico told them to buckle up. And they didn't. They didn't. He told them to buckle up. I know he did, and they didn't. He said, buckle up because I'm coming, and I'm ready to put the pause on you.
01:15:20
Speaker
And they didn't listen, and then 250 plus yards again, he he went nuts. um yeah that's that's bad that's bad man
01:15:35
Speaker
Yeah, man. So it's not looking good right now over there, but I still think they make the playoffs, but did they starting to look resemblance of when they, the year after they lost the Superbowl where everything was just off, you know saying? They lost their office of coordinator.
01:15:49
Speaker
Things weren't right. So we'll see if they can get back on track. um it What else happened? um You had the, ah probably the worst game of the year. Broncos Jets.
01:16:01
Speaker
yeah rat and Once you said that, I was like, Broncos Jets. That game was terrible. That was terrible, Brad. Broncos should won that game by like 40. Should have.
01:16:13
Speaker
But boing that he always missing something, missing passes, missing wide open receivers. just And that's why I keep on telling y'all about the Broncos. Y'all had all this stocking to the Broncos. Yes, their defense is one of the best, if not the best defense in the league right now.
01:16:32
Speaker
Bo Nix ain't shit, bro. But Bo Nix is inconsistent. As hell, yeah. You want to put all your eggs in that basket? Go ahead. Good luck. Yeah.
01:16:43
Speaker
Good luck. yeah There's only so much the defense can cover up. Especially in this day and age in football. Man.
01:16:55
Speaker
So, yeah, I just, I don't know. And then the Jets, Aaron Glenn might be one and done I don't do that to my boy. Don't die. Don't put that juju on my boy.

Team Dynamics and Coaching Styles

01:17:07
Speaker
At least two and a half, three.
01:17:09
Speaker
Come on. Come on, man. Don't do that to me. Don't do that to my boy. Don't do that to my boy. um do that to my boy a h e come on. see want do
01:17:26
Speaker
Yeah, you need to put them capris away because the Mike McDaniel looking a ain't popping. All I'm saying is you better get it together. You better get it together.
01:17:38
Speaker
and but um But yeah, what else? ah The Colts almost lost to the um coral Cardinals. And Jacoby Bissett was out there willing and dealing on their ass. Now, if Shaveri's war was out there, maybe it'd be a little different. i mean and and And whoever the tight end was that took out Shaveri's war before the game, your ass should be cut.
01:18:05
Speaker
Because I would cut your ass. but What the hell was you thinking? That was crazy. like That sounded like that's that looked like it was intentional. Tavarius Ward took some money from you.
01:18:20
Speaker
and
01:18:23
Speaker
did That looked kind of personal. What would motivate somebody be like, yeah, pre-game and he come across this middle, I'm going to smash him.
01:18:38
Speaker
I don't know, man. Crazy.
01:18:48
Speaker
Coaches wearing capris is 111. Yeah. yeah Mike Medaniel and Aaron Glenn. Ain't nobody else wearing capris, bro. Hey, Tua, shut up.
01:19:00
Speaker
o You threw three picks. Thank you. I want to hear you in the postgame talking about other players.
01:19:11
Speaker
I'll credit him for two of them. One of them came off of Jalen Waddell's hands. Whatever. I hear you. I hear you. it It still goes down as three. i hear you. But I'm not talking about this game.
01:19:23
Speaker
There's been other games where he threw some the Buffalo game, he lost that game. dog he lost He lost that Patriots game late late in the game. ah he They lost that Panthers game because of him. There was another game because I just talked about it the other night. I'm like, bro, two was over here talking this and that. I'm like, bro, there's least three games that you caused late in the game with bad interceptions and bad decisions. so it not bad like If anybody talking about, oh, we need leadership, then why don't you lead by example? Shut up and play better.
01:19:58
Speaker
um much Yeah. Yeah. yeah And even though, yeah, he had the, he had a possible game winning touchdown to Darren Waller. He did, but still, all I'm saying is take accountability for your mistakes, bro.
01:20:11
Speaker
Stop trying to act like, Oh, everybody, so everybody else, not me.
01:20:16
Speaker
No, it's you, bro. It's you. It's you. It's you. He's tone deaf right now. You the problem. He's tone deaf right now. And, uh, You know, as Omar was stating earlier about New England, I don't know, Omar.
01:20:31
Speaker
a New England make maybe one more move. drake may was Maybe they make a little call to Chris Olave at New Orleans. come come say Come over here with Stephon Diggs, player.
01:20:46
Speaker
a I'm just saying. Because their defense is good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:20:59
Speaker
Yeah, the defense is for the Patriots. Mike Rabel got him. Drake May got him. He looking like he like one of the ones right now. He look like one of ones. That's all going to say. That's all I'm going to say.
01:21:16
Speaker
And who else?
01:21:20
Speaker
We already talked about there's cooked food. The defense is terrible. Hey, Buccaneers still finding a way with all those injuries, bro. Baker Mayfield, man.
01:21:31
Speaker
Ballin'. Doing his thing. Ballin'. He's B candidate right now. Might be a little he ain't in the lead on DraftKings, but you know the he should be up there. ah In my opinion, he should be the number one in the league

Unexpected Team Performances

01:21:46
Speaker
right now. I agree.
01:21:47
Speaker
I will put him on a right now. And I'm saying I'm prefacing it right now. ah Daniel Jones. And then I'll put Patrick at three. I'm not mad at
01:22:01
Speaker
not mad at that. But after this weekend. Oh, it's going to change. That change could. That change could. After this weekend. That change of code.
01:22:16
Speaker
Come on, man. We'll be through it. It's changing real quick, though. But, yeah, oh mean week six, you know, it was cool. You know, ah Chicago got that win over the commanders. It was raining.
01:22:32
Speaker
Commanders probably should have won that game if Jay Daniels doesn't fumble the football. i know was raining outside, but you got take care of the football, dog. Yeah, how many times have they had? They had a few. Both sides had a lot of turnovers. I think they had like and think three turnovers on Chicago.
01:22:48
Speaker
Yeah, two fumbles and an interception, yeah. Oh, yes. And ah prayer is up to what's the name from San Francisco? What's the linebacker's name? Oh, Fred Warner.
01:22:59
Speaker
Yeah. Prayer is up to him, man. Damn, man. He out for the season, broke dislocated ankle and fracture. So he's out for the season. And San Francisco is another team, man. They just.
01:23:12
Speaker
Ain't still healthy, bro. It must be a California thing because Chargers. Yeah, they just they fall. like i was like Every week they got a bad injury.
01:23:25
Speaker
it's just like, damn. Again? And then you saw when he was out the game, they just looked they look out of sorts. they didn't you know Fred Warner gets them and and you know just he's like Nick Bolton. He gets them, you know.
01:23:41
Speaker
Get them lined Get em get em ready. So it's not you know it's not looking good for San Francisco right now you know with that injury. I was a little bit surprised on how the Rams played the Ravens. you know We all expect the Ravens to get blown out, but their defense actually played a little bit better this week.
01:24:02
Speaker
They went out. They got to Snoop stuop Huntley because they benched Cooper Rush. They were sick of him. um But we we'll see what happens when Lamar comes back. If that defense can be respectful, the Ravens have a chance.
01:24:17
Speaker
They do. But it' like we we'll see. and We'll see. Hey, man, that's a one in five, bro. That's hard that's a huge yield of climb, bro, that you're asking yeah I mean, they're down behind the eight ball. Them boys is in the ditch. They they deep down in the gutter, bro. It's going to be hard to get past that one and five.
01:24:38
Speaker
It's going be real hard. But, hey, we've seen stranger things. So, don't know, man. I know one team that's ah really starting to get cooking.
01:24:51
Speaker
You know, Seattle Seahawks. I ain't sleeping on them. i I told people about Seahawks. I ain't sleeping on that. JSN is a top five wide receiver. He's a dog.
01:25:02
Speaker
And Sam Darnold, hey, he's shutting me up because I was like, man, it's going to be a one-hit wonder in Minnesota. Get them some good weapons and a good offensive offensive line. Sam Darnold can cook.
01:25:13
Speaker
And some good coaching. That's another thing. Mike McDonald. I bet you the Ravens will still have Mike McDonald still. And they D.C. Yeah, of course.
01:25:25
Speaker
But, um, that defense is starting to get legit. Um, they actually starting to play better about on both sides of the football. So I'm, cause I was worried about if Kenneth Walker was going to start to get going like, yo, bro, where you at? And he's starting to starting to pick it up. Um, yes.
01:25:41
Speaker
and Yeah. Sharp and neck. Look, man. Um,
01:25:46
Speaker
The Rams, i so I still picked them to win that division, but don't be surprised if ah they get some some stiff competition from Seattle.
01:25:57
Speaker
Look, I know the 49ers record looks good, but they too banged up. I don't know how long it's going last. Yeah. um Just like I tweeted you on Sunday, bro, I'm done with Kyler, bro. I'm done.
01:26:09
Speaker
I've been doing Kyler Murray. I'm off Kyler, bro. and And not because he was hurt. The fact is, is we've seen this from him. ah Slow starts and then the injuries come and then it's like, bro, where where are you? So, um yeah, man, that's a lot of potential athleticism is being just being just wasted.
01:26:32
Speaker
and I don't know what's going on with that, bro, but i Yeah, I'm with you, man. Week six was kind of crazy, man. Hey, Kevin Stefanski, let's cut the foolishness out, man. Get Dele Gabriel off the damn field, man. and man so He probably should have thrown, like, war picks on Sunday.
01:26:53
Speaker
Four. You know why? Because the man can't see over his damn offensive line. He five eight far nice
01:27:05
Speaker
He ain't got an arm. At least Kyler got an arm. Nah, that's true. That's true. Bryce Young got a little arm talented to him. Hey, man, don't bring on their Panthers no more in this damn show, bro.
01:27:16
Speaker
but Leave Bryce Young alone. He's he's 500 right now. Don't do that.
01:27:26
Speaker
ah Oh, I'm so sick of that because I... i Every time I saw them make a good play, I'm like, man, Chris back there chuckling like a mug. Yeah, I was like, man.
01:27:38
Speaker
what Do it again. Do it again. Should have had more points. Grab your leg in the end zone wide open. Hey, man, over there chuckling like a thing.
01:27:51
Speaker
He told him the boy to buckle up, man. it there I was like, if they do start losing, can we get Rico Dotto over in Bro, dog.
01:28:04
Speaker
So, nah, man. um Yeah, crazy crazy week, but we'll see what happens because I think ah they got another London game. oh Rams and Jaguars. So, somehow the Jags. And then the Jags.
01:28:21
Speaker
They're not good. That's why I was so pissed about that loss, bro. when terrible Trevor Cause that's the most fraudulent four and two I've ever seen, bro.
01:28:32
Speaker
We should have beat them. I hate when we lose the teams like that. It's crazy, bro. I hate when we lose the teams like that. Cause then the next week, this always happens. They come back and they come back.
01:28:44
Speaker
The, the, the princess turns to a pumpkin.
01:28:49
Speaker
Yeah, but why why do you got to do that? Why you got to lose to the scrubs to make you get right? You're supposed to beat who you're supposed to beat, bro. Because we play to the level of our competition. I keep telling you, Spags and Andy tell you how they feel about you on the field.
01:29:05
Speaker
That's why they put Shamari Conner in the slot. We don't care. We don't respect you, Trevor Lawrence. You suck. What do you mean put a spy on him? Why am I putting a spy on the scrubs?
01:29:17
Speaker
because He's running on this bags. God damn me yeah tim Can he stop that? All right. Fine. Hey. Spy him. Samara, you stay in that slot.
01:29:29
Speaker
Hey, dog. Hey, coach. You might want to put Noah weight noah who? Noah Williams. The guy you drafted. he's pretty He's been pretty good.

Coaching Innovations and Influences

01:29:39
Speaker
i was so pissed he had four snaps that game, bro. Like, what the?
01:29:44
Speaker
why would I put Noah Williams on this cat? Yeah, but then he messed around and did the same damn thing with Tate Hicks last week. He didn't do that.
01:29:55
Speaker
I'm like, bro, what? The Tate Hicks were playing good, but I did. i wish he would have put him on Sam Laporta. ah was I wish I would have had him on Sam Laporta a little bit more. But the Tate Hicks played good.
01:30:07
Speaker
They did. Come on, bro. Let's not do that. He ain't playing with my emotions, dawg. Come on. The chiefs do this every year, man.
01:30:18
Speaker
I know they experiment. Yeah. tinker What you see in October. So
01:30:30
Speaker
so and don't get comfortable and collectible at all. Buffalo tells us this every year. Hey man, they ran like 20 plays. I ain't seen this year ever. You seen that?
01:30:41
Speaker
Yeah. Where did that come from? in the book
01:30:47
Speaker
With lasers and stuff around it. It said playoffs. 2026. Hey, yo. Hey, I bet you Andy loves this. He'd be like, man, I'm about to mess with the kingdom all season, bro.
01:31:02
Speaker
He was like, well. Wait till we run off of this in January. They just see Brashard Smith running this way. Wait till I do with them later in the season. I swear.
01:31:16
Speaker
I swear he'd be this way. Wait till toss it to Brashard Smith. He tosses it back to my homes and then runs a nine-round wide open. Shit, man. That's crazy, dog.
01:31:29
Speaker
But you right, though. They beat him. Yeah. Yeah.
01:31:33
Speaker
Hey, I guess that's part of his genius is, you know, what you got to take it, man. You got to take that with Andy Reid. That's what comes with the package. It's frustrating because it's not like every other coach who just runs normal plays, you know, they don't try to win the game. And, you know, most teams like the front round, like Buffalo Lions, you know, teams like that. They want to boat race. you Ravens, they want to boat race.
01:31:57
Speaker
They show all their cards. So by the playoff time come, We saw that week two, player. In week five. In week seven. In week eight. It's so funny. I think I hit a tweet a couple of weeks ago. I said, man, Buffalo, that play looks oddly familiar.
01:32:17
Speaker
if They did the corn dog joint. I said, y'all, oh, okay. I saw it coming. I was like, oh, yeah, funny, man. I said, I can't beat it. So we start start right rock, rock, rock, and y'all playbook, too. OK, they take our stuff, too. They make fun of us when we do it.
01:32:35
Speaker
But then they take it. And then you see somebody do jet sweeps and. All kinds of trickery, always smoking mirrors and finesse and all this stuff, don't fall for the tricks. And then they fall for the tricks and then.
01:32:53
Speaker
They fall for the trick. They take the trick. They take the trick, and then they say Sean McVay made it up. It's like, all right. Y'all got it. Kevin O'Connell made it up. Okay.
01:33:03
Speaker
Y'all got it. Nah, it's all good because I made sure I tweeted the exact play, which was ran in the Super Bowl. That one is two of them. That same play. All right, player.
01:33:15
Speaker
Y'all got it. And I like Sean McVay. My ultimate dream one day. This is when Andy Reid retires. Somebody maybe it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs and coaches us. Can you imagine?
01:33:28
Speaker
Yeah, I mean Patrick. ah Patrick Mahomes. Scoring 75 every game, Now, I will say this. Sean McVay is more apt to stick with the run more than Andy.
01:33:42
Speaker
Of course. So that should that's should probably be Andy is a old school West Coast offense type of guy. Now, he's he's evolved it in different variations as the years have gone by. And he one thing I will give Andy is he will listen.
01:34:01
Speaker
You come with something new to the table? Hey, man, i saw this in 1975. That's right. Hey, man, I was watching ah Kentucky Western last week, and they ran this play. This is crazy.
01:34:17
Speaker
don't even know if that's a real university. Western Kentucky, whatever. I saw them play last week, and they ran this play. We should adopt this. Hey, that's crazy. And Andy, he'll look at him like, yeah, I like that, but I can add to that.
01:34:31
Speaker
So he is a traditional Bill Walsh, you know, was the inventor of the West Coast offense, which was not really going to run the football. We use the short passes as the running play, you know, screens and stuff like that.
01:34:43
Speaker
That's how Andy's philosophy is. He adopted it from my home group. Got it from Bill Walsh and.
01:34:55
Speaker
got it from bill walsh and Yeah. And handed down.

Tight Ends Legacy in Chiefs

01:34:59
Speaker
John Gruden runs the same type place. Yeah. yeah It is what it is. He's very old school. when he he He believes, if you listen Andy, Andy is very scheme-based. That's the only thing I don't really care for him about is he's so scheme-based.
01:35:15
Speaker
Yeah, like you said, the stubbornness. yeah He's stubborn into the scheme because, like I said, when he was with the Eagles, he didn't really have great receivers other than T.O. And finally, when he drafted Deshaun Jackson and Jeremy Mack.
01:35:28
Speaker
yeah ah than that he had Other than that, he had Freddie Mitchell, Todd Pinkston, and Jason Avant. yeah And told Donovan McNabb, hey man, let's go win the Super Bowl.
01:35:40
Speaker
What?
01:35:44
Speaker
Hey man, I gave you Brian Westbrook, shut up.
01:35:48
Speaker
yeah not not Now, he had a great defense because Jimmy Johnson was one of the best defensive coordinators and he had Weapon X back there, you know, smacking everybody and Jeremiah Trotta and Hugh Douglas and them boys. So, you do that.
01:36:04
Speaker
ah You remember that hit he put on Algie Crumpler, man? I still remember that. No. And Algie wasn't no small tight end, bro.
01:36:14
Speaker
That was the only weapon Michael Vick threw to. Just kidding. The only dude that was the Algie Crumpler. Hey, Algie Crumpler was a left tackle pretty much. Playing tight end.
01:36:26
Speaker
He was Jason Dunn. He was. Shout out to Jason Dunn. No disrespect. Shout out JD. No disrespect at all. We love JD. We love JD. But JD, you know, when he came to the Chiefs, he was a blocking tight end.
01:36:38
Speaker
That's what he was. Yeah, he was. He caught a few passes here and there, but, you know. Well, I mean, he he had a goat in front of him, so.
01:36:47
Speaker
I mean, what? Yeah. That Atlanta Falcon legend, ta Tony Gonzalez. Shut up, bro. He didn't show, dog, because you did. What?
01:36:59
Speaker
He's not Atlanta Falcon legend? Atlanta Falcon legend. No, the man played 12 years in the city, bro. I ain't doing that, bro. He's like, Atlanta's with the playoff in one game. He had five years in Atlanta. Don't let Tony fool you.
01:37:15
Speaker
That man, he can say all the shit he wants. We know what's up, all right? Your name got made in the Midwest, in Kansas City, Missouri, 816. Your name got made here.
01:37:28
Speaker
All right? We ain't doing that, Tony. So I know what the hell he be saying, and I'm pretty sure he be on that damn high. Who's going to be saying that shit? He has kite. No, he's been retracting since we've been winning because he wouldn't be anywhere. He wouldn't be close to the Chiefs now. Like, they winning. They winning the sewer bowls again Super Bowls. getting Super Bowls.
01:37:45
Speaker
I need to be close to them. Yeah, I was Tony Gonzalez. I played 12 years with the Chiefs.
01:37:52
Speaker
you know hey cause I think he was just mad about all the losing he had to do here. you know I talk to Travis every day. Travis was like, man, ain't talked to him about two
01:38:10
Speaker
Tony who? yeah hey Travis respects Tony. Yeah, but but Tony... He ain't going to get Tony's record, though.
01:38:22
Speaker
Nah, nah, that's tough. to Tony put up crazy numbers, dog. 15,000 yards for a tight end? He ain't getting that. He put up crazy numbers. Like, that's that's one thing I will say about Tony, man. See? Look at Reem. He said he done on. He done with him.
01:38:38
Speaker
No more. Hey, come on, man. Hey, Reem. Take him out of the hall of the Chiefs Hall of Fame, his name already in there. They ain't taking that thing off, man. But come on, man. Like, I just wish, and like you said, I understand he retracted, but come on, T.G.
01:38:55
Speaker
Dog, we stuck by you many years. I mean, the Chiefs did him a favor. Oh, send them to Atlanta. Yeah, they did. They sent them to a contender.
01:39:06
Speaker
Hey, look, man, we in a we in a a ah rebuild. We ain't going to make you part of this rebuild. We're going to send you to a lot of fouls. They got a good quarterback over there. They look like they trying to win the Super Bowl.
01:39:18
Speaker
Shut up. Reem said, only Tony I know is Mojaki.
01:39:26
Speaker
I ain't getting this out, bro. That ain't right, Reem.
01:39:33
Speaker
We're not doing that now. Really? Oh, I had Tony Mojaki. Hey, he did make that hell of a catch. We thought Tony was going to be the next. I thought he was going to be the boy. And he had the 88 on, too.
01:39:47
Speaker
I was like, yeah. My man could stay healthy to save his life. ah in And out i know then we saw Travis, and he ran that preseason game when he ran that, like, 99-yard touchdown. Yeah.
01:40:00
Speaker
past season And then they was like, he's out for the season. I said, damn it, another one. Damn. Yeah. has't that no Not knowing we're going to have the greatest of all time, baby. wait Really, dog?
01:40:24
Speaker
Yeah, you a fool. ah so
01:40:31
Speaker
Hey, man. Hey, never in my life where thought that the Chiefs would be the franchise that had the two greatest tighties of all time. Never. so There's a lot of nevers with the Chiefs right now.
01:40:42
Speaker
Oof. I thought we'd be the team and social media crashed out on. Boy, and we got it, dog. They got the whole social media crashing out heavy, dog. Look at them. They cheating. I was like, hold on. Two weeks ago, y'all wouldn' yeah didn't give a damn about us.
01:40:58
Speaker
yeah but now he has done Patrick Mahomes is trash. My top five quarterbacks right now. Hey, Drew Brees, your top five list is trash. I just want you to know that your top five team list.
01:41:12
Speaker
My man, Stephen, they did a list and he had the chiefs at three. Drew Brees was like, I can't get with the chiefs at three. You know who he put at three? The 49th. Get the hell out of here.
01:41:24
Speaker
End the show. End first take right now. this is If I was Stephen A, cut this segment right now. Get Drew Brees up screen right now. Get the hell out, bro. Cut his screen. I don't even want to talk to him no more.
01:41:38
Speaker
He's not even allowed to speak to me right now because I'm so disgusted. Imagine being the host and the producer. Shut that down right now.
01:41:50
Speaker
Cut this off. ah I can't remember what caused Travis to slip, but I'm glad he did. It was weird. It was a lot of things. It was a like o because.
01:42:01
Speaker
he got did me Yeah, because when he went to Cincinnati, he was drafted he was recruited as a quarterback. Remember, he was a quarterback and then he got caught for drugs and then they kicked him off the team.
01:42:14
Speaker
He did his brother, of course, asked the coach, hey, can you let him back on the team? Blah, blah, blah. Let him back. He was like, yeah, you can come back. We got be tied in. And the rest is history. yeah then he slipped because of you know they still had the concerns you know i'm saying or whatever and that's because that's when andy when he got drafted so you gonna this up are you gonna this up that's funny uh uh no uh get your brother back to them bro damn
01:42:49
Speaker
yeah mean How you doing, sir? Yes, I'm excited to be a part of the Kansas City Chiefs. Proud to be a chief. All right, all right, all right.
01:43:00
Speaker
Hey, man, in the early years of Travis, man, it was a little rough. you know He had a little YN in him in the beginning. Like a mug, dog. Hey, remember we threw the flag at the ref?
01:43:13
Speaker
I remember when he did he did the the motion to the ref. to right
01:43:21
Speaker
told him to EAD. He used to get into a lot of scuffles. He was always like, chill, man. You're going to get us a penalty, dog. Shut up. see youang Relax.
01:43:37
Speaker
Who did he push? He pushed somebody and that got us a 15-year penalty and I think it lost us the game. Nah, he used to do some dumb shit. He did. And then finally, you know,
01:43:50
Speaker
He kind of calmed down. He grew up. That man said he had some YN in him. He did. He had some YN in him.
01:44:03
Speaker
