Speaker: The Dungeon Made Me Do It is a real play D&D podcast.

Speaker: Not sure what that means, here's what you need to know.

Speaker: We the characters will act our way through an adventure.

Speaker: The story progresses by our actions, which don't always work out.

Speaker: The degree of success is measured by the roll of a 20-sided dice.

Speaker: 20 being an absolute success in our favor and one being a critical failure.

Speaker: We'll be playing with milestone leveling for anyone wanting to keep track.

Speaker: We'll be starting our story at level three, where level one and two will be aired separately as they are individual stories.

Speaker: Before we begin our story, you can find us on our socials where any and all feedback is appreciated.

Speaker: You can find us on Twitter at TheDungeonMMDI or our subreddit at TheDungeonMadeMeDoIt.

Speaker: Welcome everyone to The Dungeon Made Me Do It podcast.

Speaker: Episode 4 of our Curse of Strahd campaign.

Speaker: I am sitting here with the wonderful players.

Speaker: Let's start off with Trevor playing as Scar.

Speaker: Hi, my name's Trevor.

Speaker: I play Scar, who's a vampire barbarian.

Speaker: He just, he never really, like, he doesn't hate air breathers, but he doesn't like air breathers.

Speaker: They never treated him right after you turned.

Speaker: And the people in his tribe never treated him right.

Speaker: That's why he's got scars everywhere.

Speaker: You know, I should ask that.

Speaker: So has his name always been Scar, or did he kind of adopt that afterwards?

Speaker: He didn't have a name, and then he kind of adopted Scar, because as they were training him to be the tribe champion, they literally trained him real-time, no pulling punches.

Speaker: He's got a big scar across his abdomen, where his dad pretty much almost gutted him.

Speaker: But he didn't have a name, though, when he was being trained?

Speaker: Not that he can remember.

Speaker: What do they call him?

Speaker: He couldn't remember his normal name.

Speaker: Ah, okay.

Speaker: So maybe he had one, just can't remember it.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Up next, we have Kyle as Sashara.

Speaker: Hello, I am Kyle playing Sashara Storm.

Speaker: Sashara doesn't remember much of his old life because he is a reborn.

Speaker: He keeps dying and coming back to life and doesn't exactly know why.

Speaker: And this last integration of his life, he was killed by a vampire and that's all he remembers.

Speaker: So he was able to get his arm back with his spectral arm after it was ripped off in his last combat and is now searching for whatever killed him.

Speaker: Nice.

Speaker: Next up, we have Jorge playing Karthix.

Speaker: Hey guys, I'm Jorge.

Speaker: I play Karthix Kane.

Speaker: Karthix is just a regular human fighter.

Speaker: He came into Barovia after the death of his wife, hunting down werewolves and is currently trying to see if he can find some balance and as much crazy that's going on in the grounds of helping people.

Speaker: Next up is Jennifer playing Victoria.

Speaker: Hi, th is is Jennifer and I play Miss Victoria.

Speaker: She's actually on a search for some gems that are in her family.

Speaker: Someone has taken them, so I am on a hunt for them.

Speaker: I have no idea how I got here and I'm pretty upset that I cannot leave.

Speaker: And last but not least is Bill playing Therabon.

Speaker: Hi, my name's Bill.

Speaker: I'm playing the role of Thurban Deathseeker.

Speaker: Thurban ended up in the mist due to his book, which talks to him in his own brain.

Speaker: Yeah, he pretty much does whatever the book says most of the time.

Speaker: All right, awesome.

Speaker: What are you guys planning to do at this point?

Speaker: I would say that we would probably head back towards the tavern where we had set to meet Victoria.

Speaker: I believe we will actually go ahead and head there.

Speaker: Everybody's on board with that?

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Guys are going to head back into town.

Speaker: How is Scar going about to kind of get a little grub himself?

Speaker: Well, he is still in his rage, so he busted through the window and ran off into the forest, and he's going to search for whatever he can, but this time he's going to spider climb and run along the treetops.

Speaker: And I'll roll to see if I find something.

Speaker: It's exciting.

Speaker: Let's see what happens.

Speaker: Okay, so I found a large creature, so I'm gonna say like I found, I don't know, like a big size deer.

Speaker: Something like that.

Speaker: And I kind of like hang under the tree branches it's running by and like my spectral tentacle thing comes down and latches on its face and it kind of lifts it up in the air and you'll see the life force kind of start to go and I need to make a roll to see if I kill it or not.

Speaker: So I rolled a 19 the first time and a nine this time.

Speaker: So I did not kill it.

Speaker: But I would like to, after I get done feeding, I'll go put it somewhere so nothing else can mess with it.

Speaker: But I also want to see if I can make another roll to try to find something.

Speaker: So let me roll a survival.

Speaker: So I find another medium-sized animal, and I will kill that with my claws and bring it back to the tavern.

Speaker: All right, what was this other medium animal that you found?

Speaker: It was just kind of like a small bear cub.

Speaker: All right, I'm down for that.

Speaker: I'm going to start off with Sashara, Therabin, and Karthik.

Speaker: So you guys are going to get to the tavern.

Speaker: We'll go ahead and say that this is about the same time that Victoria probably gets here as well.

Speaker: As a tavern, you're going to kind of notice there's quite a few more Barovian villagers here.

Speaker: Ismark is going to be kind of his usual spot, along with Eric, the bartender.

Speaker: What would you guys like to do?

Speaker: So Sashara is going to go and post up at the booth in the corner so he can see out across the entire tavern and just kind of keep an eye on everything.

Speaker: Therabind's gonna go up to the bar and get some wine and then sit back down at the table.

Speaker: Are you just getting a glass of wine?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And he'll just say, two coppers.

Speaker: I thought it was still free.

Speaker: I think it was just that one night.

Speaker: He'll look over at Ismark.

Speaker: Ismark will just kind of see you and be like, it's okay.

Speaker: It's all right.

Speaker: It's like, all right.

Speaker: There you go.

Speaker: So what is Karthik's doing?

Speaker: Karthik's going to sit down with Victoria and ask her what she discovered about the vial.

Speaker: You guys going to find a place to sit together?

Speaker: You guys all sit in a different spots around here.

Speaker: I would assume we would sit together if we're going to have a discussion.

Speaker: Shara kind of stuck himself in the corner.

Speaker: So when once the Shara sees them all kind of like pile up at a at a table, he's going to sit in a booth closer, not necessarily with them, but enough to where he can at least hear them because he's trying to, you know, just kind of keep an eye on everything.

Speaker: That being said, before she starts explaining anything, we start asking, do we see them in the bar currently?

Speaker: See who?

Speaker: Oh, the Visani?

Speaker: No, they're not at the bar at the moment.

Speaker: Karthiks will just ask her, did she follow Elnick?

Speaker: What did she see?

Speaker: Will the vial actually let us get through the mist?

Speaker: Well, they actually have a camp right outside this little town.

Speaker: Kind of just on the, you know, like as if you're kind of walking outside the town.

Speaker: There's like this little, this little like setup.

Speaker: And no, we can't get out with the vial.

Speaker: The gentleman that I was talking to said that, you know, his people are just kind of trying to make a coin.

Speaker: And it's a quick way to make a coin because people want to leave the mist.

Speaker: Said it may or may not work, but probably not going to work.

Speaker: Therabind, you just kind of sip it on your wine.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: We're gonna have Scar come in.

Speaker: You're gonna have this bear cub with you as you kind of walk through these doors.

Speaker: I got it on my shoulder.

Speaker: Push through the door.

Speaker: Just kind of walk up to the bartender.

Speaker: And then I'll walk over and I'll drop it down on the floor next to him and I'll start skinning it and be like, don't worry, I'll skin it for you.

Speaker: Go ahead and cook this up for the people in here, air breather.

Speaker: And then I take the claws off the spear as well and put it in my little pouch with my vampire fangs and everything.

Speaker: I should totally be racking up how much you got in there so I can get you over encumbered with just like pieces of monsters that you take.

Speaker: I mean, it's just fangs, fangs, fingers and some claws.

Speaker: Well, they'll add up, my friend.

Speaker: Eventually, they'll add up.

Speaker: Yeah, right.

Speaker: Do it!

Speaker: You're every starting character in Skyrim.

Speaker: That's exactly what you're doing right now.

Speaker: I am.

Speaker: That's kind of the goal.

Speaker: I mean, I don't wear armor, so eventually I'll have a wolf fang, vampire fang necklace with claws on it.

Speaker: Scar's gonna look pimp!

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: Actually, I want you to do a survival check.

Speaker: I want to see how good you're actually going to skin this thing.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Because I'm using my great axe.

Speaker: Oh, Jesus.

Speaker: Well, then I guess if you're using a great axe, it'd be a disadvantage.

Speaker: I just skinned it.

Speaker: I didn't cut it.

Speaker: With your great axe, though, right?

Speaker: Yeah, you can still.

Speaker: I mean, if your edge is sharp, you can still cut the skin off.

Speaker: Yeah, I guess that's true.

Speaker: We'll say you kind of skin that up, and they'll do whatever they want.

Speaker: Never skinned a bear before, so I'm not sure if the pellet just kind of pulls off or not, you know?

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: They make it look so easy in Red Dead.

Speaker: They do, they do.

Speaker: You just kind of blanket it out.

Speaker: So after you skin, are you just keeping the pelt on you and rejoining them at the table?

Speaker: I'm just going to leave the pelt on the floor.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And then I'm just going to kind of, you know, crawl back over the tavern.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: And then I'll walk over to these guys and be like, don't worry guys, I got food for everybody.

Speaker: And then I kind of chuckle at Shashar because I know he doesn't eat.

Speaker: Thanks Scar, we appreciate it.

Speaker: Or I appreciate it.

Speaker: What is the next plan that you guys want to do?

Speaker: Have we found out if the wells have gotten cleaned out for them or if they have gotten them cleaned out?

Speaker: Well I think it happened yesterday that you guys cleaned them out.

Speaker: I mean you haven't asked him about anything.

Speaker: He did say he was going to try to round some people up, but I don't think you guys followed up with him yet.

Speaker: Maybe I'll walk over there.

Speaker: Therabin's gonna walk over and start talking to him.

Speaker: He'll definitely like kind of motion to the chair.

Speaker: He's like, yeah, absolutely take a seat, take a seat.

Speaker: Uh, so...

Speaker: how have things been?

Speaker: Have you figured out anything that happened with Colin or the missing villagers?

Speaker: Well, we have good news and we have bad news about that.

Speaker: We found where Colin went.

Speaker: We didn't necessarily find him.

Speaker: Also, you're missing a priest.

Speaker: Donovic is missing as well.

Speaker: We just saw him yesterday.

Speaker: Well, we went and did some investigating at the church after hours and, uh,

Speaker: We found out something quite startling about your holy father.

Speaker: Are you... Did Donovic have something to do with the people going missing?

Speaker: Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker: Him and his son.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: His son's been dead for over a year.

Speaker: What are you... Wait, wait.

Speaker: His son's alive?

Speaker: If you want to call... Not anymore.

Speaker: You might have to start at the beginning.

Speaker: I'm getting a little lost.

Speaker: Scar's gonna come up.

Speaker: Put his bloody hand on his shoulder.

Speaker: Well, I mean, he was alive, and then he was unalived, and then we made sure he was unalived.

Speaker: And then I throw the vampire fangs that I took out of his mouth onto the table.

Speaker: You've got a lot of problems here, man.

Speaker: Little tiny chieftain.

Speaker: It sucks.

Speaker: And he's going to kind of look over the fangs and kind of see the length of them.

Speaker: And he says, you got these from Donovan?

Speaker: His son.

Speaker: Donovan's son.

Speaker: These were, he was turned.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: So Shara's going to turn around in his stool and just kind of look at him.

Speaker: The priest's son became a vampire.

Speaker: The priest kidnapped townspeople to feed to his son.

Speaker: And so we killed them both.

Speaker: You're welcome.

Speaker: And turn back around.

Speaker: Ismark's definitely going to be visibly shaken and hearing this news, taking it all in.

Speaker: It's almost unbelievable to him that you guys are talking that this guy that he's known almost all his life has done some horrific things sort of feeding people to his son.

Speaker: The fact that his son didn't simply die when he was sent over to attack Strahd.

Speaker: Wow, I guess... Yeah, we did have bigger problems than I thought.

Speaker: But, uh... What, um... I assume you took, um... Well, you said you un-alived him.

Speaker: So the...

Speaker: But what of Donovic?

Speaker: Is he still at the church at you?

Speaker: Or... He's resting with his son like he should have done in the first place.

Speaker: And then he's going to reach out and be like, I'm going to need my fangs back.

Speaker: Uh, yes.

Speaker: And grab him.

Speaker: He won't stop you, but he'll kind of nod.

Speaker: Yeah, I understand.

Speaker: It's just a lot to take in.

Speaker: Uh...

Speaker: Morning, Lord.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: I'm sure that this was the only way.

Speaker: Ultimately, what he was doing was wrong.

Speaker: Too many lives are lost because of what he was doing, but I still can't believe it.

Speaker: He's going to kind of look around at all you guys.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: Oh, another thing.

Speaker: I meant to.

Speaker: I've been so lost in my own thoughts.

Speaker: He's going to pull out a small sack.

Speaker: It looks like gold coins, and he's going to pass them.

Speaker: Looks like Therabon's probably one of the closest or Scarf.

Speaker: He's going to pass him over to Therabon.

Speaker: This is your, I promise you guys a reward.

Speaker: There's that.

Speaker: And, you know, he says 150 gold.

Speaker: However you guys want to split that up.

Speaker: He says, you've already done so much in the town.

Speaker: I don't know how else I can really reward you.

Speaker: But I hate to ask you for one more thing.

Speaker: And I don't understand if you just want to move past, but it's my sister, Irena.

Speaker: You can see that this place isn't safe for her here.

Speaker: And I...

Speaker: It's a lot safer now, but I still fear that the town's going to come under attack, perhaps even more so.

Speaker: I mean, Strahd probably had his hand in something that happened over here, or whether it was the death of my father or the town's water, or maybe even doing something, you know, doing that to the priest.

Speaker: If...

Speaker: I need my sister to be somewhere safe where this isn't going to be a problem for her.

Speaker: There's a town, Vallaki.

Speaker: It's a bit of a ways from here.

Speaker: It's northwest.

Speaker: But I was asked if you would escort her there.

Speaker: There's a church, Church St.

Speaker: Andrew.

Speaker: If it's possible or if you're willing, would you take her there?

Speaker: Unfortunately, I don't think that is going to be possible because from what we have learned, we cannot leave this town.

Speaker: Why not?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Something is holding us here.

Speaker: Oh, you're speaking of the mists, aren't you?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: The mists, they extend far beyond the town walls.

Speaker: A lot of people have tried it.

Speaker: Actually, let me show you.

Speaker: He's going to pull out a map, which I'm going to share with you guys right now.

Speaker: So he's going to kind of show you.

Speaker: He says, these are the lands of Barovia.

Speaker: Our town and the lands share the same name, but the mists are not going to stop you from moving within this realm.

Speaker: They'll only stop you moving outside, except for those, the gentlemen you already met earlier, I'm sure.

Speaker: But anywhere...

Speaker: that this map shows, you should be able to have access to.

Speaker: These mists will not stop.

Speaker: If you see, and it kind of points to Vallaki, if you guys can see it, next to this lake up here.

Speaker: That's where I think Irina should be safe.

Speaker: It's farther from...

Speaker: from Castle Ravenloft than Barovia is.

Speaker: And my hope is that perhaps he won't know that she's over there and that she'll be safe and that perhaps even if he does bring his ire again on Barovia, she'll be safe.

Speaker: That seems to be a name that keeps coming up, this Strahd.

Speaker: Who is that?

Speaker: Who is this Strahd that you guys are all speaking of?

Speaker: He's more of a monster than a man.

Speaker: He's centuries old, but they say that he's not quite human anymore, that he's...

Speaker: become cursed like the land itself that he he can be everywhere at once nowhere that all those who oppose him meet a very swift end he's up there in castle ravenloft he's a monster really I don't know how else to put it um

Speaker: He's a vampire and a very powerful one.

Speaker: And he feeds off the people daily.

Speaker: Everybody lives in fear that he'll just for one day just pluck them and never be seen again.

Speaker: If I could get my hands on him to stop him, I would.

Speaker: But as of right now, I'm just trying to keep everything here together, which thanks to you might be a real possibility now.

Speaker: So let me get this straight.

Speaker: We just dealt with, for all intensive purposes, an evil priest who fed your townspeople to

Speaker: his son who was a vampire, and you want us to take your sister to another church?

Speaker: What are the chances that there's going to be two churches run by evil priests, but he's going to kind of knock on the table.

Speaker: Hopefully that's not the case, but it's farther away from here.

Speaker: My hope, really, it's a dreadful idea, is that this is the village closest to the castle of Wravenloft.

Speaker: If...

Speaker: My thoughts, at least, is that this close to Castle Ravenloft, Strahd is going to be his most powerful, and that curse or the evilness that comes from him is going to hit us the hardest.

Speaker: The furthest I can get her from the castle, I think the safest she'll be.

Speaker: I haven't heard anything of late of anything ill coming from Valaki.

Speaker: In fact, it seems like the Burgomaster there is doing well, and he's having multiple...

Speaker: festivals and festivities.

Speaker: He's keeping the people motivated and lively.

Speaker: I'm hoping that she will be safe there.

Speaker: And it seems like it's much better than the surroundings we're in right now.

Speaker: Dark gods.

Speaker: I hate churches.

Speaker: If it's any consolation, Vallaki does have walls, so my hope is it's going to be a lot more fortified than here.

Speaker: Six of us, five of us, I lost track already, are supposed to walk one woman to this place.

Speaker: What about the rest of your town?

Speaker: Clearly no one is safe.

Speaker: Well, that's why I'm going to stay here.

Speaker: I mean, honestly, if I could go with you to help you, I would.

Speaker: But like you said, somebody has to protect this town.

Speaker: And...

Speaker: And I will do that.

Speaker: I might not be able to fill my father's shoes as much as others think I should be able to, but I'm going to try.

Speaker: What do you think, guys?

Speaker: If it sweetens the deal, and honestly, I'd give these to you regardless because of how much you've helped.

Speaker: He's going to pull out another couple things.

Speaker: He's going to pull out two vials of like a reddish liquid.

Speaker: These potions should be able to cure your wounds if you...

Speaker: if you need it.

Speaker: And then he's going to have these like small violet tinted goggles.

Speaker: And he's going to say, we came upon these a while ago from another group of adventures.

Speaker: They actually allow you to see in complete darkness.

Speaker: Probably will come in handy for those who need them.

Speaker: So if anybody wants to add 150 gold, however you want to divvy that up, you got two potions of healing and goggles of night.

Speaker: Whoever would like to take those.

Speaker: Okay, so Karthik's seeing that everybody's hesitant.

Speaker: He's just gonna put his hands down on the table.

Speaker: I will escort Irina.

Speaker: If nobody else will come with me, I will do it alone.

Speaker: And then he's gonna get up from the table.

Speaker: He's gonna get the rest of the other people.

Speaker: What are their reactions to this?

Speaker: Scar's gonna look at the little red liquid.

Speaker: And did he say what they were?

Speaker: Basically, he said they'll carry wounds if you, I mean, they're potions of healing.

Speaker: He's gonna, kind of slide them over and be like, I think you need these more than the rest of us, Wolf Fodder.

Speaker: Oh, you're sliding them over to Theravon?

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Gotcha.

Speaker: Gotcha.

Speaker: Therabent's gonna quickly take those and put them in his pouch.

Speaker: There you go.

Speaker: I'll go with little man and make sure at least one of them gets there.

Speaker: Sashara is gonna kind of just ask to, I don't care who takes the gold, as long as I can grab a bow before we leave.

Speaker: that I'm happy.

Speaker: He's gonna kind of think, which means I'm gonna need to look over into my list and see if the guy actually has it.

Speaker: Billdraft might be able to sell you a hunting bow if you need one.

Speaker: Here.

Speaker: And then he's gonna take out like a small parchment paper.

Speaker: He's gonna kind of write a little note on it.

Speaker: And it's basically just going to say, these people are with me.

Speaker: And he's going to kind of hand you off this note.

Speaker: He says, show them this.

Speaker: It'll probably go a little bit easier with haggling the price.

Speaker: I guess Victoria will go with.

Speaker: When Scar stands up, he's going to put his hand on the little chieftain's shoulder and be like, maybe you should...

Speaker: be a chieftain and get at least three to five guys and check all those abandoned houses.

Speaker: That's a good idea.

Speaker: We might be able to start doing that.

Speaker: I've already talked to a few people here in town and we've been cleaning out the wells and people are already getting braver because of you.

Speaker: A lot more not dead.

Speaker: A lot more not dead and hopefully we can keep it that way.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Well, when you're ready to leave, and I know it's late, you probably want to leave in the morning, I'll just meet you at my house.

Speaker: Irena will be there.

Speaker: I'll let her know.

Speaker: So you guys are going to leave, head outside.

Speaker: You know, I'm going to do like just a random roll.

Speaker: Let's see if this place is still up because about this time, it's probably close to nine o'clock.

Speaker: Are they going to still be open?

Speaker: I'm just going to do a quick random roll.

Speaker: We'll say on a one or two, they're going to be closed.

Speaker: All right, so they're going to still be open, but you can see that there's a guy inside there.

Speaker: He looks like he's probably starting to close it up for the night, but I'll kind of describe this place as you guys are kind of going in there.

Speaker: It's going to have these heavy curtains kind of over the doorways or sort of over the windows and stuff as you guys are going to go in, but it looks kind of like what you would think sort of like a normal, like mercantile place would look like.

Speaker: They've got different things like lanterns or

Speaker: sort of just like adventuring supplies.

Speaker: And then you're gonna see a man who's got kind of a big bushy mustache and kind of an apron on.

Speaker: He's gonna see you guys come in.

Speaker: He says, ah, well, just about to set up for the night.

Speaker: What can I get you really quick?

Speaker: I don't think I've seen you guys around here before, huh?

Speaker: No, we're just visiting.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: Okay, well, I'll make it quick.

Speaker: I'm closing up.

Speaker: I need a large fishing net.

Speaker: A large fishing net.

Speaker: You're going to do some fishing.

Speaker: OK.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: He's going to kind of look through different things.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: How much would that be?

Speaker: He'll say, yeah, OK, 10 gold pieces.

Speaker: How large is this net?

Speaker: I'd say it's probably like maybe 10 feet by 10 feet.

Speaker: Perfect.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: And he'll kind of smile.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: So if you hand over the 10, he'll give the fishing net.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Is that all you guys need?

Speaker: Longbow.

Speaker: I need a longbow and some arrows.

Speaker: Long bow.

Speaker: Well, I don't know if I'm going to have a long bow here.

Speaker: I do have this.

Speaker: It's a shorter.

Speaker: It's a hunting bow here, but it's going to cost you a little bit.

Speaker: So this is about 250 gold pieces, but I'll definitely sell it to you if you really need it.

Speaker: So firstly, I'm going to walk over to Therabon and ask for the paper.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I go and just flash it to him like Ron Swanson giving his permit so that he can do anything.

Speaker: I'm going to just hold that up in front of his face.

Speaker: He's going to kind of look at you guys like, okay.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: So as a favor, I'm sure that you guys are really buddy-buddy with Ismark.

Speaker: 25.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Have I been talking to him for 45 seconds to a minute?

Speaker: 25?

Speaker: Yeah, 25 gold pieces.

Speaker: You went from 200 to 25?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Dude, she is a... So, real quick, have I been talking to him for about a minute?

Speaker: I'd say so, yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I'm going to use my words of terror ability.

Speaker: Okay, so what does this do?

Speaker: Basically, if I've been speaking to him for a minute, he needs to make a wisdom 14 saving throw.

Speaker: Okay, wisdom 14.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: I'm going to pull his character up.

Speaker: Here goes.

Speaker: He got a six.

Speaker: He is afraid of me.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Terrified of me.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Maybe your eyes kind of get this unearthed glow to him.

Speaker: Maybe he finally notices that you have a glowing hand.

Speaker: It's like, okay, listen.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I'm just trying to do business here.

Speaker: If you want a little lower, I'll go 20.

Speaker: 20 gold for you.

Speaker: 15.

Speaker: Can I roll an intimidation?

Speaker: Yeah, go for it.

Speaker: Well, do it with advantage because you've got your thing going.

Speaker: I am going to... It only works on ability check, so I'm not too worried about this.

Speaker: I'm going to use my knowledge of a past life to add a d6 to this.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Twelve!

Speaker: Your past life of being a really nice guy, always asking nicely.

Speaker: Great.

Speaker: I've been a great guy my entire life.

Speaker: So yeah, it's a twelve on the intimidation.

Speaker: Sixteen, and it's yours.

Speaker: Gar's gonna hear him go back and forth about it and be like, Hey, when's the last time that you had a good meal with some big meat in it?

Speaker: talking to that shop.

Speaker: Is this a threat?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: I caught a bear and killed it and it's up at the tavern.

Speaker: You can go have some, but maybe you could sell him the bow for 12 of those shiny things and some of the thin sticks with it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Thanks.

Speaker: I appreciate it.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: I should let Perry and Wimple know.

Speaker: Yeah!

Speaker: Yeah!

Speaker: Perry Wimple!

Speaker: Oh, you want to help me out out here?

Speaker: And so there's going to be a guy who comes from the back.

Speaker: He's got like, really think about like a down south kind of good old boy type of look where he's got overalls, one strap on.

Speaker: But this guy is going to just be rippling with muscles.

Speaker: And he's going to kind of come out.

Speaker: He's going to look out.

Speaker: Would you, did you call me Bird Ruth?

Speaker: It's like, yeah, Parawimple.

Speaker: We got some nice friends here.

Speaker: Huh?

Speaker: We're all friends, right?

Speaker: And he's gonna look at you guys like, we're all friends, right?

Speaker: They're offering us some food as long as we give them some fair prices, right?

Speaker: We can do 16 on that bow, right?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I think 12 with the shiny pieces.

Speaker: That's pretty good.

Speaker: Scar's not gonna back down.

Speaker: Nope.

Speaker: And Stark's going to lower his battle axe from his back and be like, but I mean, if me and this shiny Ripley guy, you know, we can go outside.

Speaker: And if he wants to really decide, I could show him a couple of things on how my dad drained me.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: So he's going to be like, so is Marks at you over here?

Speaker: Wonderful.

Speaker: I got to really thank him for that.

Speaker: Listen, I got a business to run here and I appreciate you.

Speaker: I'll tell you what, you're going to throw in a nice meal for us.

Speaker: I appreciate that.

Speaker: I'll give it for you 11.

Speaker: 11 for the bow.

Speaker: I cannot go any cheaper than that.

Speaker: Deal.

Speaker: I'm not going to spit it one gold less.

Speaker: So there you go.

Speaker: Do you want to go and put a short bow on there?

Speaker: The DM forgot how to haggle.

Speaker: I forgot.

Speaker: For whatever reason, I thought that I said 12 before.

Speaker: So yeah.

Speaker: You said 16.

Speaker: We said 12.

Speaker: And you're like, you know what?

Speaker: We'll settle for 11.

Speaker: I got a lot of stuff I'm reading here.

Speaker: Don't kill me.

Speaker: Don't kill me.

Speaker: It's just a normal kind of short bow.

Speaker: Is there any spike chain in this place?

Speaker: He doesn't have any sort of chains with spikes on them, but he does have just like a normal 10-foot chain.

Speaker: A normal 10-foot chain.

Speaker: I'll take it.

Speaker: How much for that metal whip over there?

Speaker: Five gold pieces.

Speaker: I heard three.

Speaker: Scars doesn't care about money.

Speaker: So he'll toss them a couple gold pieces.

Speaker: Sure, doesn't too fancy.

Speaker: Just a kind of thick chain, about 10 feet long.

Speaker: Listen, shopkeeper, where can a necromancer find some bone dust around here?

Speaker: Oh, this bug.

Speaker: Oh, God.

Speaker: I guess the cemetery?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Sashara's gonna turn to Therabin.

Speaker: I think the priest can help us out with that.

Speaker: Yeah, go ask him.

Speaker: He's kind of a weird guy too.

Speaker: He's probably right up your guys' alley.

Speaker: You have no idea.

Speaker: Therabin's about to go up his alley.

Speaker: So how much damage would that do, Josh?

Speaker: The chain, so, I mean, it'll probably be just like an improvised weapon, which I don't know, do they give you like a certain thing for improvised weapons?

Speaker: Is it like a D4 or is it like a D6?

Speaker: I don't remember.

Speaker: I believe it's a D4.

Speaker: The way that it's set up now, I would say probably just a D4, as it's not really made for fighting.

Speaker: You could always find a smith and perhaps kind of alter it to kind of switch it up or...

Speaker: or maybe find your spike chain later when I maybe put it in the game.

Speaker: But as of right now, this is just a normal chain.

Speaker: That works.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Is it anybody else?

Speaker: I need to go back to the church.

Speaker: While we're here, does he have anything like rations and stuff like that?

Speaker: So we have, are we actually going to deal with that?

Speaker: I would say, yeah, you guys probably are going to have to get some food.

Speaker: Unless you want to do survival checks and hunt for it.

Speaker: If you guys are going to stop for the night, you probably have to get something to eat.

Speaker: I would still hunt for,

Speaker: meat and stuff like that but rations and other stuff to take with us would be great water yep oh wait i forgot this town doesn't have any water well i mean we could take wine yeah right i mean maybe after they clean it out a little bit it'll be a lot better but yeah um are you wanting to get some rations yes please each day's worth would be about five silk he's gonna kind of look so any other thing i could help you guys out with

Speaker: I'll see you later, friends.

Speaker: And like a big old toothy smile as he walked out.

Speaker: I'm going to enjoy that.

Speaker: Whatever you brought in there to eat.

Speaker: You have been much accommodating friend.

Speaker: Just glad everything could work out.

Speaker: Thanks man.

Speaker: So of course, after you guys leave.

Speaker: You also, you can have my gold.

Speaker: I don't know when anybody has, I don't know how we ended up.

Speaker: I spent 11 of my what?

Speaker: 30.

Speaker: 30.

Speaker: So there's 19 there.

Speaker: Sasara has what he needs.

Speaker: He doesn't need food or anything like that.

Speaker: So guess we're headed back to tavern or we headed up to the church.

Speaker: Therabin's going to the church.

Speaker: So what's your plan at the church?

Speaker: Before he leaves, hey, Wolfotter, don't forget, can you use bare bones?

Speaker: That's a possibility.

Speaker: There should be some at the tavern.

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: It's fresh, too.

Speaker: Mix them.

Speaker: Fine will do it the easy way.

Speaker: We won't desecrate a body.

Speaker: I'm not saying I won't.

Speaker: Well, actually, if you're going to go back to the tavern, are you going to get your bones, kind of debone this bear cub and then spend the night here?

Speaker: Or what are you guys going to do?

Speaker: Sounds good to me.

Speaker: Yeah, I guess we'll have to stay the night if we're going to leave at first light.

Speaker: So everybody can long rest everything and then we'll just stick off.

Speaker: And of course, I'm going to go to a room because, you know, that's just my style.

Speaker: So you guys go to bed, finally get your long rest in.

Speaker: So everybody's going to have a normal night.

Speaker: For Karthiks, you are going to have a very good rest.

Speaker: You're going to have this vivid dream where, what's your wife's name?

Speaker: Cassandra.

Speaker: Cassandra.

Speaker: So you're going to have this dream reliving that memory of when you came home and the house was attacked.

Speaker: And you're almost expecting her when you go there that the house is going to be wrecked.

Speaker: Everything's normal.

Speaker: She sees you.

Speaker: She's just like, welcome back, my love.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I mean, in this dream, you're kind of almost remembering her being killed, but she's alive.

Speaker: How would your character react in this situation?

Speaker: I guess I would just be confused and kind of puzzled while he's walking home.

Speaker: The yard and everything is destroyed already, and he walks into the house and she's alive, or is it just...

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: I like that idea.

Speaker: I like that you come home, it is destroyed.

Speaker: You get inside and she's fine.

Speaker: And then you look outside again and everything's back to normal.

Speaker: It's pristine.

Speaker: So I think in that situation, he would run up and embrace her.

Speaker: Is it really you?

Speaker: Oh my god.

Speaker: What has gotten into you?

Speaker: And she's almost thinking you're kind of like flirting with her type of stuff.

Speaker: She's like, yeah, everything's fine.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: You must have had a really good trip.

Speaker: Then he will just take her in an embrace, just remember her as she was and kind of almost look around while he's holding her and see what else is changing.

Speaker: Everything seems normal.

Speaker: In fact, almost in your head now, it seems like...

Speaker: Everything that happened before, when you went to, with your wife being killed, moving to Barovia, meeting all these people, that feels almost like the dream.

Speaker: That is almost like you're, you're kind of thinking, wait, was that a horrible nightmare?

Speaker: And I'm suddenly awake now.

Speaker: And this is, I'm actually in my normal house.

Speaker: So it's kind of going through your head now.

Speaker: Was that just a horrible dream that I had?

Speaker: And now suddenly I'm fine.

Speaker: Like, yeah, that's kind of where your character's at.

Speaker: What does he see if he looks into her eyes?

Speaker: Just sees her eyes.

Speaker: I mean, she seems normal.

Speaker: Everything looks normal.

Speaker: Again, she's kind of looking at you like, are you okay?

Speaker: Like, you're starting to kind of freak me out.

Speaker: No, I'm good.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm okay.

Speaker: I made your favorite.

Speaker: Just get your favorite meal ready for you.

Speaker: You take a bite.

Speaker: It's delicious.

Speaker: Everything is great.

Speaker: And I don't know, unless you do something, the rest of this day is going to play out just like normal with her.

Speaker: I mean...

Speaker: Everything's going to be exactly how it was before.

Speaker: Meanwhile, for everybody else, everybody else is going to kind of get up in the morning.

Speaker: You kind of do your, maybe your daily routine.

Speaker: You are going to notice that Karthix hasn't gotten up yet.

Speaker: He must still be in his room.

Speaker: What do you guys want to do?

Speaker: Uh, Scar's still laying on the bar.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: With his eyes open like normal.

Speaker: Therabin's taking sips from his flask while reading his spell book.

Speaker: So Shari's just kind of like looking around, listening to the patrons and...

Speaker: Just observing.

Speaker: So I'll say some time goes by for a little bit.

Speaker: Karthik still hasn't come out of his room.

Speaker: Anything else you guys want to do while you're kind of like sitting there like, come on, we're ready to get going.

Speaker: We're going to leave and go to his marks.

Speaker: Hey, hey, Scar.

Speaker: Scar will kind of roll off the tavern.

Speaker: Yeah, Wolfotter.

Speaker: How about you go get Karthik's?

Speaker: He's not out here yet.

Speaker: Nope.

Speaker: Uh, yeah, Skars doesn't know which room Skars thinks is, so he's just gonna go from door to door and knock.

Speaker: I wouldn't expect anything less.

Speaker: Alright.

Speaker: I would say you probably would know which one is his room.

Speaker: You probably go in there.

Speaker: I didn't expect him to knock.

Speaker: Yeah, right?

Speaker: Well, you know, knock, like, Skars knocked at the house.

Speaker: There's not gonna be an answer.

Speaker: Knock the door down.

Speaker: Oh, is that what it is?

Speaker: Knock the door down.

Speaker: I'm kicking the door.

Speaker: Okay, well, you're going to see him.

Speaker: He's just sleeping still.

Speaker: He's in bed.

Speaker: He didn't wake up when I kicked the door in?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Time to get up, little man.

Speaker: And I'm going to walk over and kind of pull the bed off.

Speaker: You pull the bed off.

Speaker: Whatever he's on, I'm going to pull it off to the floor.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: No, he's dumping you out of the bed.

Speaker: He's pulling it out from under you.

Speaker: Karthix will dump onto the floor, but he will not wake up.

Speaker: Alright, so since he didn't wake up to that...

Speaker: I'm gonna look at Thurban and be like, you got any ideas, Float fodder?

Speaker: I don't know, slap him real hard, see if that works.

Speaker: I did buy this chain.

Speaker: Do what you gotta do.

Speaker: I'm gonna bring a bucket of water.

Speaker: I'm gonna drag him out.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Can I throw a bucket of water on him?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So, okay, so you're dragging him out, you're just in the hallway, or where you guys at?

Speaker: I'm gonna know whatever they got water or whatever.

Speaker: Okay, I didn't know if you were gonna take him into the main tavern area and throw water in the hallway.

Speaker: Yeah, I'll drag him straight into here.

Speaker: Other people are kind of looking now like, what the heck is going on?

Speaker: There is no response.

Speaker: Hey, so real quick, if he's unconscious, does that mean that he would automatically fail a wisdom save?

Speaker: I mean, if it's an attack, he obviously can't stop against that.

Speaker: Jeez, my god, what are you gonna do?

Speaker: Sashara is going to go over to him, lean in and whisper in his ear.

Speaker: Yeah, waste your spells here, punk.

Speaker: I knew you were weak.

Speaker: And he's going to cast Vicious Mockery.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And Karthiks wakes up and grabs him by his door.

Speaker: So it's a wisdom save of 14.

Speaker: It's just an insult, and he takes 1d4 psychic damage.

Speaker: So in this case, he cannot hear you, so he does not have to make a save.

Speaker: Well, shit.

Speaker: That's why I used a cantrip.

Speaker: Do we know that he's asleep and not dead?

Speaker: Let's do a medicine check.

Speaker: I will, or at least check his pulse.

Speaker: Oh, well.

Speaker: He looks dead to you.

Speaker: Sashara, are you punching him?

Speaker: I'm just fucking backhanding him.

Speaker: All right, well, if Sashara is actually going to go ahead and hit, he'll take three bludgeoning damage.

Speaker: So go ahead and mark that on your character sheet, Karthax.

Speaker: There goes my three temporary hit points.

Speaker: The temporary hit points are gone.

Speaker: Yeah, they don't last that long.

Speaker: Oh my god.

Speaker: There have been, maybe you're a little better at telling if somebody's dead.

Speaker: You could tell that he's not dead.

Speaker: Victoria's like, oh yeah, he's dead.

Speaker: He ain't moving.

Speaker: This guy's dead.

Speaker: It's the door.

Speaker: And you're like, I can see his chest moving up and down though.

Speaker: But he's dead.

Speaker: He's just dead.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: No, he's not.

Speaker: Well, it looks dead to me.

Speaker: So in his dreams, an earthquake starts happening.

Speaker: Yeah, right?

Speaker: I'm still dragging him out.

Speaker: I will say that in your dreams, things are going to kind of change a little bit.

Speaker: I mean, again, you're having this perfect day, maybe this perfect night with your wife, and eventually she's going to say, just don't go.

Speaker: Don't leave.

Speaker: Maybe in your head you're like, go.

Speaker: Like, where am I going?

Speaker: And she's just like, don't leave.

Speaker: What do you want to say to her?

Speaker: I'm not going to leave.

Speaker: Today we're just going to stay here.

Speaker: And she says, I know, but just, I know that you're going to leave, but come back to me, please.

Speaker: There's nowhere else that I would go but here.

Speaker: It's already a perfect day.

Speaker: At this time, you're going to hear the door burst open.

Speaker: This like rushing wind is going to be coming up through this door.

Speaker: And she's just like, please just come back.

Speaker: And then you're going to get sucked away from her and you're going to get flung out of this door.

Speaker: Rain is going to fall all over you and you're going to get kind of pounded as you're kind of

Speaker: like rolling against the ground, you will start to slowly gain consciousness again.

Speaker: And you're in the middle of a tavern surrounded by a collection of people and you're soaking wet and your face hurts and you're awake.

Speaker: And being slowly drugged, because I said I was going to drag him out of the hallway.

Speaker: Well, I figured he was already out there.

Speaker: You're back with us.

Speaker: And it's kind of like the realization is that... Do I nicely wake up?

Speaker: Nice and subtle?

Speaker: Or is it like... Oh, no, it's painful.

Speaker: I mean, after everybody's beaten you...

Speaker: In your dream, you're kind of getting thrown around and bashed about, and then you're going to kind of like come to and like, oh, what the, what the hell?

Speaker: So is it a come to like, oh, what the hell?

Speaker: Or is it like, I'm going to come through swinging?

Speaker: Like, what the fuck?

Speaker: No, you probably won't come through swinging.

Speaker: You're going to be kind of groggy coming back, but definitely the biggest hit to you is realizing that it was kind of having what you wanted back and then having it just like evaporate in your hand.

Speaker: But, but, but you're, you're back in the real world now.

Speaker: Oh, I guess he's not dead.

Speaker: He's weird.

Speaker: Hold you.

Speaker: Oh, I'm sorry, Carthix.

Speaker: I thought you were dead.

Speaker: I assumed we were just going to grow some dirt on you and, you know.

Speaker: That was the plan.

Speaker: That's to heal, not bring back from the dead.

Speaker: Grab your shit.

Speaker: We got things to do.

Speaker: Well, get off your ass and let's go.

Speaker: We've been waiting on you, little man.

Speaker: Waiting on you now.

Speaker: You got him tied up with a chain dude.

Speaker: We gotta get that off first.

Speaker: I'm gonna need that back!

Speaker: Fuck off.

Speaker: I just climb over this thing like I normally do.

Speaker: Karthix is just moving.

Speaker: He don't give a fuck about anybody else right now.

Speaker: So Shara's just smiling because he got to bitch slap Karthix.

Speaker: This is the first time you've really seen him like fully smile.

Speaker: Wow, got some good friends there.

Speaker: Oh, no.

Speaker: Fuck these people.

Speaker: Heading over to the Burgermaster's mansion.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: So now you get a knock on the door.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: No?

Speaker: Nope, Scar just walks in.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: You're going to kind of hear almost like an argument between Irina and Ismark.

Speaker: Irina, again, kind of, you're overreacting.

Speaker: Everything's going to be fine.

Speaker: And he's like, listen, it's going to be a lot safer with these guys.

Speaker: They're going to take you over to Valaki.

Speaker: You're going to be fine over there.

Speaker: She's like, I can take care of myself.

Speaker: He's like, yes, I know that.

Speaker: But right now I need to take care of this village and I don't need to be worried about something happening to you.

Speaker: She's going to be like, anyways, if anything, if anything, this is going to help us open up a lot more communications with Valaki.

Speaker: You can be the person that I can trust that's over there, that we can communicate with them.

Speaker: She's going to kind of be like, okay, if you just get off my back, then yeah, that's fine.

Speaker: So how are you guys reacting to this?

Speaker: You didn't even talk to her about it?

Speaker: You can't just force a woman to do something.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: She's like, yes, well, this is how my brother is.

Speaker: But he's got good intentions, I guess.

Speaker: We've talked about it before, but as of right now, I can understand.

Speaker: You're not an infant.

Speaker: You can make your own choices.

Speaker: Yes, I'm not.

Speaker: And she's going to look at us.

Speaker: He's like, I didn't call you an infant.

Speaker: She's not.

Speaker: We don't have time for the bickering.

Speaker: Karthix is just going to grab her by her arm and kind of pull her off to the side.

Speaker: Oh, please let her hit him.

Speaker: Please let her hit him.

Speaker: Good lord.

Speaker: It's time to go.

Speaker: She is going to kind of like shove you aside.

Speaker: She's like, excuse me.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: So this is my entourage.

Speaker: Are you just going to drag me all the way to Vallaki?

Speaker: If we have to, that's what we will do.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: You've got a chain.

Speaker: She says, was Perrywimple not available?

Speaker: I mean, honestly, he's like, they're trustworthy.

Speaker: They've done a lot more for this town than most people have done their whole lifetimes here.

Speaker: She's just like, okay, as long as you don't grab me as long as, again, I'm fine.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: And she'll say, well, lead the way.

Speaker: Heading out then?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: You guys are good to go.

Speaker: You can go ahead and sit you outside of town.

Speaker: You guys do have that map in case you need to know where to go.

Speaker: But, oh, I got to click it over here.

Speaker: There we go.

Speaker: So, at this moment, it's probably about 6 in the morning.

Speaker: It's still pretty early day.

Speaker: Where would you guys like to go?

Speaker: Start walking.

Speaker: Um...

Speaker: Well, I mean, the direction would be good, but traveling on that path, going kind of this southwestern.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Sorry, I didn't turn northwest.

Speaker: So really quick, kind of, yeah, that's where this is.

Speaker: You want to go straight by the castle.

Speaker: He's probably just talking about where it's going to curve.

Speaker: I believe on your map, it kind of shows it goes northwest.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But you're going to be following the path.

Speaker: So Char is going to recommend taking the path for it's going to take us a little bit out of our way, but the path that goes the bottom path that goes furthest away from the castle.

Speaker: is going to be kind of the recommendation there, but whatever everyone wants to do.

Speaker: So really quick, does Karthik's know that they brought him out of the sleep?

Speaker: Like, does he know that they're kind of the reason of it?

Speaker: Why he's so fucking pissy.

Speaker: That might be kind of the reason.

Speaker: I mean, you kind of woke up, you're kind of hurt.

Speaker: They're all gathered around you.

Speaker: You could probably piece it together that they kind of woke you up, possibly.

Speaker: Would he have any recollection of them in the dream?

Speaker: Like, would he see, like, glimpses of them, like, in his sleep?

Speaker: No, no.

Speaker: You were, I mean, everything was, like, perfect with your wife.

Speaker: To you, it was like, oh, my God.

Speaker: I thought all that stuff I did before with the zombies and the priest that was killing people.

Speaker: That had to be the bad dream.

Speaker: This is reality.

Speaker: You're like, this is, this is, I'm back to normal.

Speaker: Everything's fine.

Speaker: Whoever, whatever crazy dream was I had with those guys is just all fantasy.

Speaker: And then you suddenly kind of like came to it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I was just like, cause you said he was kind of tossing him around in his dream, kind of pulling him out.

Speaker: So I was just kind of wondering like if he was getting glimpses, like when Shasara hit him, if he's going to get glimpses of that twisting his mind that maybe he was thinking these were the ones who killed his family.

Speaker: No, no, nothing like that.

Speaker: It was just, everything was fine.

Speaker: Then she was like, don't leave.

Speaker: And then the door opened up and you got flung out and suddenly you're back here.

Speaker: But yeah, if you guys keep traveling along this path, let's see, it's going to take you guys, it takes about an hour to get to this bridge.

Speaker: You guys are going to kind of cross a simple stone bridge here.

Speaker: Nothing too crazy.

Speaker: It just seems like it's just a nice water spot.

Speaker: It's just a very clear flowing river that runs this kind of valley here.

Speaker: But yeah, nothing too bad.

Speaker: Then you guys can travel this way more.

Speaker: Keep going for another hour or so.

Speaker: If you guys can see where I'm at following this path.

Speaker: Again, nothing out of the ordinary.

Speaker: It's probably about eight o'clock at this point.

Speaker: Traveling more, a little bit more.

Speaker: Eventually, you are going to come to a crossroads here.

Speaker: Can I explain here?

Speaker: So right now, it's probably about 10 o'clock.

Speaker: Actually, I can kind of show you here.

Speaker: I made like a cool little time thing here.

Speaker: There's the sun up there.

Speaker: You can kind of see what kind of what time of the day is.

Speaker: But it's probably about 10 o'clock.

Speaker: I'm going to move this back in case you guys need to see it.

Speaker: Are we having any conversation or anything as we're walking?

Speaker: Good question.

Speaker: I was just wondering if we were maybe kind of conversating with each other about, so Shara doesn't know what happened or he doesn't understand what happened in his life, so he kind of doesn't have a memory, but maybe since Karthik's being so pissy, maybe we're...

Speaker: you know why are you know what is your problem kind of you know sashara is walking a solid like 15 to 20 feet ahead of everyone else just kind of keeping an eye out for everything scouting ahead i guess i would say irene will probably bring up something i mean she'd probably be silent for probably about a good hour or so and then she's gonna say so i guess you guys aren't really from around here are you

Speaker: Well, I'm not.

Speaker: I don't know how in the world I got here or what happened or anything.

Speaker: It happens every once in a while.

Speaker: People from outside of Barovia come here and they never get to go home.

Speaker: I mean, I'm not trying to say that that's going to happen to you all.

Speaker: You all seem nice enough.

Speaker: But this isn't really a place you'd want to spend the rest of your life.

Speaker: Well, it seems like maybe I won't have much of a choice.

Speaker: If there's no way back home, then I don't know how to get there.

Speaker: Yeah, well, this is my home, so I guess I don't really have much hope.

Speaker: Anybody else bring up anything or talk about anything or kind of leave it at that?

Speaker: Mounts Garst in the back of the group.

Speaker: He's kind of making sure nothing can come up behind him and kind of keeping an eye on Karthik since he was having a bad morning.

Speaker: Yeah, he seems to be in a bad mood.

Speaker: So as you guys come to this crossroads, there's going to be an old wooden gallow creaks in a chill wind that blows down from the high ground to the west.

Speaker: A frayed length of rope dances from its beam.

Speaker: The well-worn path splits here, and a signpost opposite the gallows points off in three directions.

Speaker: Barovia village to the east where you guys just came from.

Speaker: Czar pool to the northwest.

Speaker: So that's going to be on your right side and Ravenloft slash blocky to the southwest, which is on your left side.

Speaker: The northwest fork slants down and disappears into trees while the north or the southwest fork clings to an upward slope kind of goes up a hill.

Speaker: Across from the gallows, a low wall crumbling in places partially encloses a small plot of graves shrouded in fog.

Speaker: So real quick, Victoria, go ahead and give me a wisdom check.

Speaker: A 10.

Speaker: Your memory is going to kind of like click for a second.

Speaker: Like, oh yeah, I talked to those Vistani earlier.

Speaker: Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Speaker: You want me to express that?

Speaker: I mean, that's up to you if that's something you guys need to think about or if you're just going to go straight to Vallaki.

Speaker: So you've got a couple options.

Speaker: Hey, guys, when I was talking to the people that had the vial that said that would get rid of the mist, they said they had a second camp out here just to the right.

Speaker: If we want to stop by or, you know, if we just want to keep on going.

Speaker: Do we have a need for stopping by?

Speaker: What really do they have to offer us?

Speaker: False hopes?

Speaker: Vials that don't take us anywhere?

Speaker: Schemers, scammers.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, it was just an idea.

Speaker: So what path do you guys want to go?

Speaker: The one that says Phalak.

Speaker: Everybody's on board with that?

Speaker: I'm trying to figure out where we're at on the... Oh, here I can show you.

Speaker: Uh...

Speaker: I rolled a perception to see if maybe I can see like any tracks or anything on the ground.

Speaker: Yeah, I would say that you could see.

Speaker: He can see little worms coming up.

Speaker: Yeah, with a 21.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: There are more fresh tracks going up the path towards the northwest than the southwest.

Speaker: Or kind of like the one that Victoria said.

Speaker: And you could see what looks like ruts where wagon wheels wouldn't went into the road.

Speaker: So it kind of tracks that this is probably a path that they take going up in that direction.

Speaker: Not so much going the other way.

Speaker: There probably was at one time, but they're definitely not fresh whatsoever.

Speaker: I mean, probably like weeks to months old.

Speaker: I want to turn to, shit, what's her name?

Speaker: Irina.

Speaker: Irina, yeah.

Speaker: I want to turn to Irina, and after Victoria had kind of asked, or had mentioned the Vistani, I want to kind of look at Irina and ask her,

Speaker: So what interactions have you had with these Vishtani?

Speaker: They mostly keep to themselves.

Speaker: I know that three of them own the tavern in town, but they haven't caused any trouble.

Speaker: They scam people.

Speaker: I know that.

Speaker: I know not to buy anything from them, but they're harmless.

Speaker: A lot of people think that they're in league with Strahd, which...

Speaker: may or may not be true.

Speaker: I don't know, but they've never caused me any problems.

Speaker: They're just strange travelers and I don't know, they're different and people see people who are different as dangerous.

Speaker: I don't know if that's true.

Speaker: Well, I mean, when I talked to them, they seemed fairly... The gentleman that I talked to, he was like one of the head guys.

Speaker: He seemed pretty nice, and he didn't seem like a trickery person.

Speaker: You know, he told me that the guys kind of just go and try to sell that because they just need the coin.

Speaker: It's like anybody else who, you know, tries to sell pies or sells the...

Speaker: you know the rations that we bought and things like that and so you know they're just kind of trying to make their way in town too i mean obviously only having one encounter or one transaction or one one talk with them doesn't kind of make them make me know much about them especially you know i just i don't know they just seem like a decent people or the guided so did the priest on the outside

Speaker: Fair enough.

Speaker: Truth.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: And that's why I said he seemed all right.

Speaker: I mean, God knows.

Speaker: The gods know.

Speaker: The priest is pretty harmless now, though.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Maybe he is a con artist, but I feel like if he was such a con artist, he would have told me.

Speaker: He would have said, oh, no, you need to buy those because the mist will go.

Speaker: Because, you know, I expressed how much I wanted to go home and how much I miss my family and my mom and my dad and stuff.

Speaker: So, I don't know.

Speaker: So, what do you guys want to do?

Speaker: Therabin's going to pull out his spell book and just...

Speaker: Simply ask it, which direction is the temple?

Speaker: In the mountains, to the west.

Speaker: Travel the roads until you find it.

Speaker: Well, guys, we're going west.

Speaker: Is there a bitch just leaving?

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Well, which west path do you want to take?

Speaker: The northwest or southwest?

Speaker: Yeah, we'll go northwest.

Speaker: So there's one vote for the Fustani.

Speaker: If there is, like, any chance that these things are allied with vampires, then...

Speaker: Sashara has zero desire to get caught up in that because he will kill them all.

Speaker: You're kind of letting everybody know that too?

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, he'll just kind of announce it.

Speaker: Like, if they are in league with Strahd, even in the slightest, they all will die.

Speaker: She's like, could we not just go on a murdering spree?

Speaker: I mean, I'm all for not being in league with Strahd, but please don't kill anybody.

Speaker: And plus, I don't want to get myself cursed.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's not too bad once you get used to it.

Speaker: Well, I don't know about what happened with you.

Speaker: This thing, I don't know.

Speaker: But the Vistani, well, people say they can curse you too.

Speaker: So I'd rather not tempt that.

Speaker: Okay, maybe we should just not go.

Speaker: We can keep on going.

Speaker: Southwest it is.

Speaker: Two for Southwest.

Speaker: One for Northwest or are we all changing what's going on?

Speaker: Less tracks, less encounters.

Speaker: We get there faster.

Speaker: Say it's unanimous going Southwest.

Speaker: Therabin will turn around and follow the rest of the group.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: That's good.

Speaker: But come on guys.

Speaker: What's wrong with a little death and destruction every now and again?

Speaker: Once he realizes he's alone, he's like, oh, well, shit.

Speaker: So you guys are going to start heading down the southwest area.

Speaker: You're going to hear a creaky noise coming from behind you.

Speaker: And anybody who turns around, you will see that there is a, where there was nothing there before in that noose, there is now a gray lifeless body that is kind of like swaying in the breeze.

Speaker: And its eyes are kind of fixed on you.

Speaker: I want everybody to roll me a d20.

Speaker: What if we didn't look?

Speaker: Just a normal d20?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, if you don't look behind you, then you don't have to roll anything.

Speaker: So I got a three.

Speaker: Yeah, I got a five.

Speaker: Did you want to roll it all, Jin?

Speaker: Are you okay?

Speaker: I can't take it.

Speaker: It's to backslash R1d20.

Speaker: You put the slash on the wrong side.

Speaker: That's okay.

Speaker: You might need the one of the d22.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Oh man, we're all just in anticipation.

Speaker: And it still says unrecognizable command.

Speaker: Yeah, try it.

Speaker: If you go over to the toolbar on the left side, you kind of hover over it where it looks like there's a little dice button.

Speaker: If you kind of put your mouse over it, you can go down to it.

Speaker: There it is.

Speaker: There we go.

Speaker: So everybody's going to kind of see, just looks like a random person, except for Therabon.

Speaker: You're going to see the body of your grandfather there hanging in the breeze.

Speaker: Well, if that's the case, I have to go investigate it.

Speaker: So how are you investigating this thing?

Speaker: Walking up slowly, being very cautious.

Speaker: Yeah, and as you kind of walk up towards this body that's hanging there, again, it's obviously, but they're just dead eyes just like on you as you kind of walk up to them.

Speaker: I'm going to poke it with a stick.

Speaker: So as you kind of

Speaker: poke this thing, it's as soon as you kind of hit it with a stick, it's going to almost kind of disintegrate and just kind of fade away.

Speaker: And then there's nothing there anymore.

Speaker: What the fuck?

Speaker: What kind of magic is this?

Speaker: Do you want to give me a check?

Speaker: An arcana?

Speaker: 12.

Speaker: Could be like an illusion somebody casts here.

Speaker: You didn't hear any spell being cast.

Speaker: You didn't see anything.

Speaker: There's

Speaker: Nobody seems to be around.

Speaker: Best guess is it was maybe an illusion, but you don't really know.

Speaker: It could be something, especially since they made it look exactly like your grandfather's.

Speaker: You remember him before his death.

Speaker: I'm going to turn around to the rest of the group and just tell them to be weary.

Speaker: Just keep an eye open.

Speaker: And then I'm going to walk back towards them.

Speaker: Do you one better?

Speaker: I'll keep both open.

Speaker: And I think that's an excellent way we can finish this off.

Speaker: The Dungeon Made Me Do It is Trevor playing the role of Scar, Jennifer as the lovely Victoria, Kyle playing Shashara Storm, Joshua our DM, Bill in the role of Theridan the Deathseeker, and I, myself, Jorge, play Carthex King.
