Speaker: Hello and welcome to Fit for My Age, the health and wellbeing podcast from Abbasida on which we don't tell you what to think, but we do hope to make you think.

Speaker: I am Michael Millward. Today I am learning about the effect water and oxygen have on our bodies and the health from Teresa Riley, the founder and CEO of Patriox.

Speaker: Teresa is based in Florida, the United States, a state I have visited and would do so again. And when I do, I will make use of my membership of the Ultimate Travel Club to arrange my travel.

Speaker: Because as a member of the Ultimate Travel Club, I get access to trade prices on flights, trains, holidays, hotels and so many more travel related purchases. If you want to travel at trade prices, use the link in the description to access membership of the Ultimate Travel Club at a discounted price.

Speaker: Now that I have paid some bills, it is time to make an episode of Fit for My Age that will be well worth listening to, liking, downloading and subscribing to. And one that you will also want to tell your friends, family and work colleagues about as well.

Speaker: Now, hello, Teresa. Hi, Michael. Nice to be here with you today. I'm very glad that we've been able to arrange this because I am fascinated by what it is that you do and there's an awful lot to be learned. But first of all, can we start off by just explaining a little bit about your journey that led to you setting up Patriarchs? well Well, first off, I've always been interested in health from a very early age. I was ah a gymnast and an athlete, a skier and so on and so forth. And throughout high school, people used to always come to me for health-related questions because I was constantly studying. And then I grew up, I had ah got married, had kids, and I married.

Speaker: i got a health scare. And it was quite a scare. i was I was a very busy person with my husband. We ran several companies. We had three children and and so on and so forth. And then we hit a bump in our relationship. And I got diagnosed with a very scary diagnosis. And I was, you know, understandably like wondering, oh my gosh, how am I going to take care of my kids? And so I motored through that incident, which was quite hard. it was It was really harrowing. I had to have an operation. The doctor told me it was very serious. They lost me on the operating table. They brought me back to life. Then i

Speaker: went on to a few years later, i was having trouble with my gut and my intestines exploded and it was actually, yeah, it was horrible. It was actually, you know, and then I got septic and the doc, it was because of the operation that I had, they had nicked my intestine and there was scar tissue in there and then it exploded and it was like, oh my gosh, So I had to go through that ordeal and luckily I survived because i it was very possible that I didn't survive. And that whole ordeal, maybe we can talk about on a later session, but it was quite, quite horrific. And that was in 2000. Let's see, I had my scary diagnosis 2012 and then in was when that happened. And then I recovered from that. And in 2022, I heard about this amazing technology that we're going to be talking about today.

Speaker: And i didn't realize it, but my scary diagnosis was coming back again and i didn't know it. And luckily I had heard about this technology that ultimately got my immune system and my body back to normal, where now I am better now today than I was 30 years ago. i have more energy, I'm healthier, i think clearly, I'm just, i'm just I feel like like, wow, I wish my chronological age was 30 years younger. i don't even wish that actually, because I have more knowledge, but if it were 30 younger, Like, wow, i'd be I'd be superwoman because I know so much more than I did 30 years ago. and but But honestly, i feel better than I did then. i just feel so phenomenal.

Speaker: That's brilliant to hear. and And I, I can totally relate to it because that was one of the reasons why we decided at Abbasida to set up fit for my age in that we've, we discovered that as we aged, we learned more about how our bodies work and our health in general, and the sorts of things that we needed to do in order to be healthy and thought, if only we had known this 20, 30 years ago,

Speaker: Mm-hmm. Exactly. Yeah. If only we had known. I know. I really wish. I wish I would have known when my parents were sick and dying, you know?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. But we know now. But what is it that you know now? Tell us more about this technology because I've read about it and I'm fascinated to know more. So please tell us, what is it? What is it, the technology? It's so amazing. This is so amazing. Um, This technology handles something called hypoxia.

Speaker: And hypoxia is lack of oxygen in your tissue, not in your blood, in your tissue. Okay, there's there's blood hypoxia, but I'm specifically talking about tissue hypoxia. And so,

Speaker: Lack of oxygen in your tissue, specifically in your mitochondria, lead to all sorts of disease. People are walking around with hypoxia and they don't even know it.

Speaker: And like it it manifests itself in all different types of diseases. OK, but the underlying factor is that your mitochondria are not working properly properly. They're dysfunctional because they're not getting oxygen and what they eat is oxygen. Oxygen is the food for the mitochondria. and Right, so what are the microchondria? The mitochondria are the power plants of your cell.

Speaker: They basically create energy, which scientifically it's called ATP. It's a long scientific name. but it's energy. And the mitochondria's job is to create energy for the body so that the body so the body's immune system can stay healthy so that you can prevent and fight off disease.

Speaker: But if the mitochondria itself are not getting the nutrient it needs, which is oxygen, then they will become dysfunctional and then it manifests in the body as a disease. So yes, go on.

Speaker: I hadn't said anything and you could tell that i've I've got a question because it's like the functionality of these microchondria, if I'm to understand you correctly, we breathe in air, which contains oxygen and all sorts of other things.

Speaker: And that is then used by our blood and ch can um transported around the body. Yes. Now, that needs to go into our heart, our lungs, our every part of our body, every single cell needs to get that. If I put this ah in really basic terms, what you're describing, I think, is that in some way or another, we are not getting the right amount of oxygen into every part of our body. Correct. And that then leads then to people sort of not knowing because not knowing that this is happening, then at risk of illness, because this has the feeling of being one of those things that will creep up on you because you don't notice that you've got this problem because it's just how you are. It's normal life. Right. Most people are walking around fatigued all the time. And ah if they would just get enough oxygen, the fatigue would go away. Like, so, so the mitochondria, right. Um,

Speaker: Right now in the atmosphere, you're only getting 21% of pure oxygen when you breathe. It used to be much, much more, but now because of the toxins in the air, in the food, in the water, sedentary lifestyle, people wearing masks, not doing intentional breathing, flying all the time, They're not getting enough oxygen. So when you breathe, okay, every time you exercise, every time you breathe, you're getting oxygen, but still, if you are not healthy, it's not enough. The problem that has been solved with this technology is that you can get the oxygen into your mitochondria. Now, really quick, I just want to go over something. There's something called the Krebs cycle inside of your mitochondria. It's an eight-step cycle that your mitochondria use to create energy. And if

Speaker: that it's not working properly, then disease can begin. So it's like if you have an eight cylinder car and your car is motoring down the road and its cylinder goes out, the car is still going to run, but not quite as well. If another one goes out, it'll still run, but not quite as well. And then third one goes out. And then when you're down to like four cylinders, you're only driving at half capacity, you're kind of like, wow, I got to bring this into the shop, right? That's the same way with the mitochondria. People let their health go to the point that

Speaker: it's down to four and it's like, boy, I better go to the doctor rather than when the first cylinder goes out, they start thinking, oh my gosh, maybe I need more oxygen, right? Because if you're fatigued, you need oxygen, you need more.

Speaker: And and and that's that's like one of the first signs that you know that you need more oxygen in the tissue. Now also, like if you have gas in the car, but you don't have a spark,

Speaker: with the spark plug, the car is not going to start. If you have the spark and no gas, it's not going to go. So the mitochondria also need that spark. They need that voltage, that electronic signature to spark the mitochondria so the battery will run. And then they need the food, which is the oxygen.

Speaker: So this product that we have, which which is a proprietary product, process that we have that takes water and we don't add anything to it, but it turns it into drinkable oxygen that has an electronic signature and it's under pressure so that it pushes it right into your tissue.

Speaker: So that you're, it's, and because it's a liquid rather than a gas, it doesn't have to go through the lungs and all of that. It's, it's immediately bioavailable and available to the system right away.

Speaker: So your body can get enough oxygen so that it can create enough energy to repair the immune system so that the body can heal itself.

Speaker: That sounds interesting because for from most people's perspective, I should think they'll think about oxygen. Oxygen is a gas. We breathe it and it goes into our bodies through our lungs. What you're saying is that through this proprietary process, you can drink water. And that enables, it goes into your gut. Yes. And it's possible to then absorb that oxygen through your gut into your system. and And because of the way in which the gut works, it becomes available to be used instantly.

Speaker: Well, actually, it doesn't even have to go into the gut. You just put it in your mouth and it starts moving. It's ah it's immediately bioavailable. Right. So you could you could just, as you hold it in your mouth, it's it's going to work. Yes. Now, right, this is proprietary, so it'll be covered by all sorts of patents and confidentiality sort of things, but give us a hint as to how how that actually works. Well, I don't actually myself know the exact process because everything gets done inside of our um machinery, but it is a very, very technical sort of electrolysis process that took 25 years to

Speaker: perfect to Right. Okay. So what sort of effect has it had? You've mentioned your own health and the impact that it had on you. Well, and I mean, for me, i I would be dead right now without it.

Speaker: Period. End of story. I would be dead. um When i got my first scary diagnosis, you can imagine what that was, you know,

Speaker: yeah um it it i was I was free of it by their terms, but little did I know that it was lurking in the background ready to come back. And it did come back. And i started...

Speaker: with this and I realized that I was very hypoxic. I was not getting enough oxygen into my cells. And that was the underlying problem of all of this. So I started consuming this and my hypoxia got handled.

Speaker: And my immune system became so strong. I have so much energy now. It's kind of like I'm a Ferrari at a red light. I don't need as much. Like seriously, i like like all cylinders are are firing. They're all firing. So when I get up in the morning, I have energy. I just get up and I'm ready to go. And I don't fall asleep during the day. And I'm up at night and I just feel great.

Speaker: And I, back 30 years ago, I wish I had that energy. yes Yes, I can understand what you mean. But do you have to take this as ah as an ongoing thing or is it the sort of thing that you have like a medicine? You take it, you get better, you stop taking it. Or is it something that you need to be taking forever to change your diet to include it, so Well, we just say, tell people, don't eat sugar. Sugar is the worst thing you can put in your body because it kills everything. Yeah. but um

Speaker: I like to say I have the only product in the world that people can only live a couple of minutes without. It's oxygen. You know, um you know it's like you're if you feel good, you're not going to stop breathing.

Speaker: You know what I mean? You just you can't do it. So for me, I know i will never stop drinking this till the day that I die. I just won't because i want to feel as good as I can. And I want to look as good as I can. And I want to have as much energy as I can until the day that I die. So yes, you can do it and until you're better. But why? Like, why would you stop?

Speaker: you know It's like you wouldn't stop eating once you're full. you know You get full one time and then stop eating for the rest of your life. No, that's not. You have to eat to maintain. no you know And your mitochondria need oxygen. It's what they eat.

Speaker: So it's very, very important to understand that that that is that is like it underlies so many things that ail the body.

Speaker: And people don't even know. It's like been a hidden topic or something because so many people, when I start talking about it, they're like, what is hypoxia? And I'm like, well, you know, it it underlies like 90% of what else the body. So why wouldn't we be talking about this? And it's an intensely interesting subject.

Speaker: I totally agree with you, both on the fact that the question needs to be answered. Why are we not talking about this from a general health perspective? If people do not know what they need to know about how to manage their own health, they're not going to manage their own health. Right.

Speaker: That's right. It's as simple as that. But also then it's like when you get into the detail of these things, you you can sometimes feel as if you've got too much information. But you do need to have that information so that you can make your own choices about your your own health. From what you're saying, there's this type of product, that it's it's a water-based drink, isn't it? Yes, it's a proprietary process that takes water and changes it changes it into stabilized bioavailable high-oxygen content liquid.

Speaker: And so is it a ah carbonated, it's got bubbles in it. It's a still water type. It is. And it like, if you don't open the bottle, it'll last for years, but when you open it and put the cap back on it, it will stay completely stabilized for 57 days. If you take the cap off and leave it off, if you lose the cap or something, it will stay completely stabilized, oxygenated for three to five days.

Speaker: Right. yeah So the process itself enhances the oxygen in the water so that it's easily absorbed by the body. Correct. Right. And that, like you say, it affect it changes the nature of the water and that effect in the water, if you leave it in the bottle without undoing the top, then it will last until you open the bottle. yeah And then you've either got, depending upon how you treat the product, replace the lid, you've got 57 days, which is like two months, or three or four days if you leave the top off. Yep.

Speaker: Right. So some of the practical aspects of it And the only thing is you shouldn't leave it in the sun, which, it you know, you you just shouldn't leave it in the sun because that's the only thing that destroys it. But we also say don't put ice in it. Don't mix it with anything. Just drink it as it is. And the bottles are quite big. They're a liter and a half. So we say drink about a cup and a half every hour and a half. And that will oxygenate your cells throughout the whole day.

Speaker: And after time, you'll start feeling energetic and you'll start feeling very good. And you'll be able to get up in the morning and clean the house when you need to without that coffee, unless you love coffee like me. But...

Speaker: Right. Well, the coffee yes has its benefits, I must admit. But how long do you have to wait from first starting until you start to feel the benefits of it Well, that depends on you.

Speaker: Okay. Some people say they feel it within minutes. Okay. Some people just feel it right away. Me personally, because i was sick and I didn't know it, it took me about two and a half weeks But it was strange because my friend was drinking it every day and he was saying, wow, I'm feeling good.

Speaker: And I was like, I don't feel anything. you know But then after two and a half weeks, all of a sudden I'm like, wow, I feel good. And and it just was like this inner energy. i don't It's hard to describe it except other than a Ferrari at a red light. That's what you feel like. You just want to go.

Speaker: Right. So other sports cars are available, including some from the United Kingdom and some from the United States as well. But Ferraris are a good metaphor to use. that I have to mention Jaguars and Aston Martins. Actually, the Jaguar was my favorite car. I had one for years and years I sold it to a friend of mine. It was my favorite car ever.

Speaker: Ever. Nice. yes Nice. Right. bit of British export then. So this is a product which is proprietary. it so does something to the oxygen in the water, which makes it more easily absorbable through the gut. It's going through the, into the organs and then has an impact. The longer that you use it, the greater the impact. And why would you stop using something that's having a positive impact? on your health. You also mentioned as well, that part of the impact on your health is that it improves your immune system.

Speaker: Oh, absolutely. Yes. it It brings your body back to homeostasis. Like your immune system needs energy to work properly to fight off disease and to keep you healthy. And without the energy and without the oxygen food, your body's not going to create the energy and therefore your immune system will be sluggish.

Speaker: Are you solving one of those problems of the 21st century type of thing? If we lived a more organic life, for want of better expression, more in tune with nature, less of those driving fancy cars or flying and everywhere, we wouldn't need this as much as we do.

Speaker: yeah That's really correct. Because honestly, way back when there was more pure oxygen in the atmosphere. And there just isn't anymore, you know, like trees give off oxygen, and there's not as many trees on the planet as there used to be. Right. And there's toxins in the air and, you know, the things that go overhead and stuff falling from the sky and and soil that we have is like almost nutrient deplete. And so, you know, it's it's.

Speaker: oh way back when we wouldn't have needed this, but we do need it now. We really, really need it. Plus too, you know, I want to say something like I see a lot of people still walking around wearing masks and you know, that's fine if you want to do that. But I, what I want to say is that when you do that, you are cutting off your ability to get oxygen to your mitochondria, which is so important. If your immune system was strong and your mitochondria were getting oxygen, you wouldn't need a mask because your immune system would fight off what was coming in. And it's so important to let the immune system get strong so that you can fight that stuff off. I so cringe when I see people cutting off their oxygen because I'm like, oh my gosh, that's life. You need oxygen.

Speaker: You know? Yes. Yes. It sounds a little bit as if we need to build up our oxygen, help our bodies to recover from the 21st century.

Speaker: yes yes then we'll be in a better position to deal with the impurities in the air having lived and worked there in some very polluted places i can see the sense of doing something to keep that polluted air out of your body as well but i do take your point that the better healthier we are the more able we will be in order to deal with the problems of that are created by the way in which we live in the 21st century. Absolutely. Absolutely. I totally agree with that. I mean, I don't, I, if people want to wear the mask, it's fine because some of them, yes, they're immune compromised. I understand that, but it just keeps depleting them more and more of the oxygen.

Speaker: So maybe they could get more oxygen when they're at home. and start building their immune system so that when they get out, they'll be strong enough so that they don't have to, you know, I understand. It's like a double edged sword.

Speaker: Yes, i I understand. I'm wondering if there's anyone that you would advise not to do this. Anyone with any particular health conditions, stages in life? Is there anyone who should not try this?

Speaker: Well, I have not seen anyone so far. that oh Well, actually the only people, I i have to re correct myself, someone who's had a transplant, an organ transplant should not partake of this because the body will start to attack itself because they they the body has to adapt to the new organ. So yes, organ transplants, but other than that, no one. We've never seen anyone that should not take this.

Speaker: right okay so the organ transplant um issue of course is because the body is thinking this organ is alien and so we've got to fight that and if you're strengthening the immune system then you're making that well you're putting the transplant at risk so yeah i can i can quite understand what you mean there Yes. But, you know you've addressed this one issue that is part of the problem of living in the 21st centuries. But what you see as the next sort of big issues that that might affect our health as time goes on in this century?

Speaker: Well, you know, for me, i see, i've I've done such an enormous amount of study on oxygen. and when I look at, you know, the the climate change things, you know, reducing carbon footprint, all of these things, right? The soil is already depleted of carbon. The trees need carbon to survive, right? And we, in turn, get our oxygen from what the trees and the plants give off. So, For me, when I look at it, I think, oh, my gosh, oxygen is the next big problem that we're going to have to solve, but barring disaster, natural disaster, that sort of thing. Right. But health wise, that's what I see, because by reducing

Speaker: the carbon footprint and depleting the soil of minerals and the air of oxygen. Well, we're not going to be able to survive very well if our food is not nutrient rich, if our air is not nutrient rich, and if our water isn't nutrient rich, which in turn goes to How can our mitochondria be nutrient rich if they're not getting enough oxygen? That's what I see. And i that's what made me want to bring this product to the world because i knew what, what hypoxia did to me. And I knew what getting enough oxygen did for my body and how I feel. And I just want everyone to have the same wonderful feeling that I do.

Speaker: That's great. You're doing things for the right reasons. I've got so many more sort of issues, questions, thoughts for us to discuss. But for today, Teresa, it has been fantastic. I'm really interested and we'll find out more. But thank you very much. We do appreciate your time today. Thank you, Michael. I enjoyed being with you today.
