Speaker: Let's go live. All right. Hey, what's going on everybody? Welcome back to the Savage Boston podcast. We are here. It is Tuesday, 840 at night, October 13th, and Patriots just just getting done with Pat's Raiders week, which was obviously was a hell of a week, man, so and a fantastic win. and We'll kind of go over it. go over it now and we will then kind of preview the Jets game. So I'd say first, you know, go follow on this is live streaming on Twitter and YouTube. So go follow Savage Boston on YouTube.
Speaker: I'm sharing content there. It's where we do live stream stuff there. If you want to share comments, they can put them up on the board and of course on Twitter. So I'll throw it to Brett first, Brett, give me your, just your quick overview thoughts of the game. Just again, 20,000 foot view before I'm going to go ranting on a couple of things in in a minute. So you give me your initial thoughts.
Speaker: Well, the easiest take is Drake May is officially back. There's no question that he's 100% back. The the kid's just a stud and showed it against Vegas through dimes all over the field and really just look like the Drake we saw all last year. so Whatever the yips were that he had to start the season, whatever the rust is he had to you know shake off from the playoff run last year, that's gone.
Speaker: And now it's a situation where let's see how he runs and how consistent he can be through the rest of the season because he's back in form. My biggest takeaway from the whole thing, though, is the Patriots continue to perform against all odds when it comes to the standpoint of the injuries were getting stacked up against us. Just...
Speaker: Barrage of injured injuries across the board at all levels. I mean, we're basically our top two wide receivers up this point are not playing. We're down our left tackle.
Speaker: and playing a backup there. We're on a third version of our right guard. We know Moses is banked up. We lost Gilliam. We lost Henderson in the game. There's just so many injuries across the board. And oh, by the way, Gonzalez hasn't been able to play. We didn't have Carlton Davis, and you're going against Brock Bowers, who's considered one of the best offensive weapons in the game.
Speaker: And somehow, someway, the Patriots go out there and just absolutely dominate. So it just shows the class of... The coaching, werere able you know how he's able to prepare the guys, how he's able to get them engaged and get some of these guys to step up, you know next man up mentality. So I'd say my overriding takeaway from this beyond the Drake May stuff is this team just has a winning caliber and it's showing week in, week out. I get Vegas isn't an elite team, but with the amount of injuries, that's impressive.
Speaker: Yeah, true. Student, you got a quick 20,000-foot view here? Yeah, I mean, it's – so the the Raiders are ass. I said that going into the week, so i was kind of like, they suck. Their record was ridiculously inflated. You know, playing close against the Chiefs doesn't mean shit. You should be able to play close against a division opponent, even if they're way better than you. That doesn't mean shit. They suck.
Speaker: They suck fucking – they're horrible and they're stupid. They're terrible. That being said, they went out and dominated a terrible team. And they weren't doing that. And they didn't look like they were capable of doing that. So it's all very positive. um May, his accuracy was pinpoint. i mean, I don't care who you're playing that. Like his accuracy was...
Speaker: absolutely on point um so i mean it's good like i'm not gonna it doesn't change my outlook on the season for them because they beat up on a shitty opponent but it restores my faith in the fact that like yeah you took them behind the woodshed you took a team that you should take behind the woodshed behind the woodshed like that's what you're supposed to do so that means like you're not a shitty team like you're better than a mediocre team like you're capable of beating like the dregs of the league That's awesome. That means compared to the last, not maybe not last year, obviously, but like the past couple years before that, like they were nowhere capable of doing that. And like they even last year, you went into games being like, I don't know, this might be kind of tight. And like, you know now they're just like, no, now you go in and say, no, you should beat the shit out of those, those awful teams.
Speaker: And they did. you know, it's all positive. You can't really get upset with a 28 point win. I mean, if you do that, you got something fucking wrong with you, man. yeah Yeah, no, I hear you. Um,
Speaker: What I wanted to get out first is basically, so I think, I mean, I'm happy. You might've said like going into it, you think the Raiders suck. And that's very possible. Like I thought they were like overrated.
Speaker: That was my initial thought going in, but I'm not calling out anyone in specific, but I think it's ridiculous that there are certain people in the media or again, certain people on um on Twitter who decided to come out and say like before the game, it was,
Speaker: Oh, shit, dude. Watch out for the Raiders. Like, that they lead the league in turnovers. That defense is pretty good. they beat so their They're beating teams. They're close on the Chiefs, right? It's a lot of, like, hype. Like, oh, this is going to be – this is close to Seattle's defense. Like, there's just all this hype, and we're going to hype them up. And it's like, okay, like, I didn't necessarily agree myself.
Speaker: Then the game happens. And they get their fucking doors blown off. Smoked. I mean, not even like the offense. Patriots got some of the highest yardage total in a very, very long time. I mean, Drake was sublime. It was ridiculous. Drake with 400 yards of ah offense, five touchdowns. I just find it obscene that as soon as that happens and the Patriots dominate the game, okay, what did they say right afterwards?
Speaker: They say immediately they go, well, actually the Raiders sucked. Okay, well, if you thought they sucked have you thought sucked after the game, then you should have at least been honest and said you didn't think they were very good before the game.
Speaker: You know can't say, wow, they're so amazing, and they get all these turnovers, and after it, be like, well, secretly, they were actually sucked. Well, then your fucking take before the game was ass. And you fucking suck.
Speaker: And I'm only fired up because I think it's fucking ridiculous. Like, like again, if if your take was going into it, that they're very overrated and then the Patriots blow them out, congrats. You read it correctly.
Speaker: You read the situation correctly. If you went in being like, watch out turnovers, they're actually really good. And then they get blown out and be like, well, my bad. They actually suck. Like that, like that was my fault. Like I had a poor analysis, right? Like you got to have some sort of give and take there. You can't just be like,
Speaker: like forget your analysis doesn't exist, you know, from before the game. I just think it's a joke. And I think how people have spoken about it has been fucking embarrassing. think it's crazy. So, sorry, you guys, you guys go for it. That was my rant today on that shit.
Speaker: Yeah, mean, that's what happened last year, right? like It's like... It's take proof. Like, it's like, they either suck. yeah It's like, it's bullshit. And it's level of consistency. Like I texted you guys all week saying Patriots by two scores, Patriots by two yeah scores, yeah by two scores. Like,
Speaker: like It's one thing if you say that that they suck going in, but if you're like Bedard or any of the other people, i'll I'll name names. I don't give a shit. I don't want those names. You want to name names? it's like you know like Bedard and others, and he's not alone in this. and like Part of it is like they're trying to hype up. but like You don't need to hype up the game. going to watch. like You what I mean? like they They hype up all these like individual statistics. Oh, look at all the fumbles they forced. Look at all this. Look all that. it's like Look at the teams they played against.
Speaker: It's like it's horrible. It's like they were talking about this on the radio today. They're like, oh, look at all the sacks the Jets had last week. And they're like, who'd they play? The Browns. You're like, oh, OK. Yeah. OK, yeah. Great. like So you do have to factor in opponent a little bit and some measure of consistency while a fool's errand in this town from the media.
Speaker: you know, you'd you'd like at least a little bit. Own your shit. If you're wrong, you're wrong. Just own it. people not trust their own analysis? I mean, this is the one thing. Like, do you do you trust what you're saying what you yourself are saying?
Speaker: Right? Like, if if you – and if you said going in, wow, they're ball hawking and really great, then after the game, at least say, I'm really surprised that they thats they got their doors blown off.
Speaker: I thought they were it looked pretty good. I'm really surprised. The Patriots played really, really well and executed well. Don't come out and be like, actually, they sucked and the Patriots still aren't that good because they sucked so bad. Like, no, like trust your own analysis. It's not, you can't just cancel your own fucking analysis just because something different than what you thought was going to happen, happened. Like your analysis, what you had coming into the game still existed. Like I'll say the same shit. Like we said, I don't expect the Jets to be very good this upcoming week. I'm sure we'll talk about it.
Speaker: I don't magically expect them to be amazing. even though they were played some tight games or they're tight against the Browns. I expect the Patriots to play pretty well. Right. So, and if I'm wrong, come out and be accountable. I'm wrong. You don't just, just pretend it like it didn't exist. Like that's again, that's what's pissed me off. It's disingenuous.
Speaker: And I don't know if it's like, just, is it performative? Cause I'm not being, I don't even know how to be fucking performative. This isn't a performance. This is how I actually feel in my brain and I'm mad about it.
Speaker: So I don't know if the, what they're doing is performative. Like I don't, I can't tell. I don't know. Sorry. you go for Brett. Well, I'll do. A lot of times it is performative. It gets clicks and it gets attention. And that's what they're trying to get.
Speaker: But again, I'll just step back and say this. i don't I didn't care necessarily whether it was Raiders, it's the Jets next week, it's the Dolphins. To look the way they did is impressive, regardless of who you're going against. Because to Snooty's point, if it's ah it's a trash team, you got to go out there and perform the way they performed.
Speaker: To me, the biggest thing is they perform that way with all those injuries. Like, you you go out there and you say, Drake May had all day to throw. Well, he had a rookie left tackle come in midway through the game to try and hum him up. He still has a situation of right guard that he's trying to work through. Like, he's still got a, like, young, banged-up offensive line. And they schematically took – The writers completely out of it and made them looking at so good job roses for the offensive lineman and then you look at the wide receivers and you get just go to yourself like.
Speaker: From a separation standpoint, we're going, well, what do we got this week? You know, we're trying to figure out Chisholm is going to be stepping up. He's our wide receiver 3 when he was wide receiver 7 at the start of the year. And now he's coming out and playing a real snaps. You got guys running all over the field and get wide open.
Speaker: And some of it's from scheme. Some of this guy's just performing, but you've got to look at it and say, these guys came out and did what they had to do. And under their circumstances, I don't know how you can look at it any other way.
Speaker: Other than just basically saying the Pats look like a clearly more dominant, better class team. And I think they're rightfully getting their, you know, representation, the AFC and people started to recognize where they are.
Speaker: Let me, let me answer this really quick. A couple of some comments coming in. So from Joe from LFG paths, Potter guy, Joe says, you don't have a producer, a boss telling you to get ratings. That's the difference. It's why local podcasts are voices people. We aren't controlled. I think in, in respect to like radio to me, i think that that's true. Obviously you have producers who plan their show and are like, Hey, how do we attack this?
Speaker: this situation, this angle today, how do we get people to tune in? Like that's a conscious thought process, obviously, just like get ratings if you're on a radio. Other people who are deciding to, again, I'm not naming names, Snooty can name names. Other people that are just deciding like, I feel like other people aren't aren't being as performative where they're like, they will just switch their opinions immediately be like, oh, well, here's the results, so the Raiders must have sucked. Well, then your analysis fucking sucked. Like again, like your analysis sucked.
Speaker: or at least at a minimum to say, wow, I'm surprised the Patriots executed so well. I thought the Raiders were pretty good. Like you have to concede something accountability wise and not just again, full how I figured out Snooty put it, but full blinders as soon as the game happens and like your take blinders, like you just forget, you know, it's like people who, again, we can go into this, but who advocating for Drake may to be benched after week three,
Speaker: like that take never made sense. It never made sense. And maybe that was performative too. I have no idea, but like maybe they really felt that that never made sense. I've said this so many times on here online, the videos is about it, that never made sense from any perspective. No, you know, it didn't make, it didn't make,
Speaker: Any sense. Anyway, someone says, what does that say about the Chiefs that they only won by a field goal? I think the Chiefs are super overrated. I've said this. This is a take I have. They're They haven't beat good teams. I don't think they can throw the ball. Tyquan Thornton is hurt now. They have a really good running back who's been way better than I thought in Kenneth Walker. I think Kenneth Walker is excellent.
Speaker: Very, very high on that player. Respect that player. He's looked tremendous this year. And they're blocking well. I think the Chiefs are going to run into problems because – You're going to get a team with a really good defensive coordinator that's going to maybe like Zach Kerr who's going to figure out, okay, like just like we do with Josh Allen, like let's keep Mahomes in the pocket.
Speaker: you know How do we keep Mahomes in? like let's man up like Their weapons aren't great. Kelsey is fucking ancient. you know He can barely move. So, again, to me, like that would that's been my take for a while. I don't think Mahomes is the same guy. i think the Chiefs are overrated.
Speaker: So and if and if I'm correct in the Chiefs win, shit, I was wrong. I'll be accountable for it. It's just my take right now. OK, well, I think i today also we said this at the top, too, when we were talking about like preseason predictions on the AFC and. who was gonna be there. The one I team that I was wrong about was Denver.
Speaker: um Kansas City was one where I was in alignment with you and basically said, I thought they were trash. I thought they were overrated. didn't think they were that cold. And I mean, next week they're going against Seattle. So yeah, we'll see how they actually do against a legit defense.
Speaker: Snooty was the one that was on Denver and said they were fraudulent team and that everyone basically swept under the rug. The fact that Denver had equally an easy schedule as the Patriots did last year, and they probably weren't going to be able to repeat that. And they're struggling right now. And Bo Nix is.
Speaker: A complete shell watching some of his tape and looking at some of his stuff that he's missing. It's wild. So. Again, i just yeah it's hard to look at the first five games and not look at the Patriots and say, we are in the top echelon of the AFC. We should be considered contenders within that bracket. And we're not even healthy right now.
Speaker: With regard to how the Raiders played the Chiefs tight, like division games are different. It's like the Patriots always like it's always hard in Miami for the Patriots. like Even when the Patriots were bad, they beat the Bills.
Speaker: right like It's just just one of those things like familiarity. like It just makes it so it's hard to beat division opponents. You play them twice a year. or You're very familiar with each other. There's legit hatred in some cases. like you know i don't I don't really count like, oh, they played the Chiefs tight. Awesome. That's a division game. like You fucking should. like you're you're to me, you're like a really shitty team if you get blown out by your division rivals. like that That's like the sign of like,
Speaker: like wow you really are in the basement like that's really bad yeah um I think Bo Nix by the way like Bo Nix I agree I think Bo Nix is people are really having issues with Bo Nix and they're watching his tape and it's like the discourse is changing now on that first of all he was never that phenomenal he has some amazing comebacks it's like he plays like complete ass for three quarters and sometimes has great comebacks But like, it's true. Like his is um sort of Mac in the comments here said, Bo Nix charts looks like my grand grandpa's pudding.
Speaker: part of The misspell of, Oh, putting. I thought he meant pudding. Like, like eating pudding, putting, putting, putting, Well, was like, oh, wow. he's That's a weird reference. um Great. but But yeah, so long story short, though, I agree both ways. I think Bo Nix has huge issues. And like now it's like it takes forever for the narrative to change. Like all sudden people are like, oh, yeah, Bo Nix just throws to like you know within five yards of line of scrimmage out to the flats. like He doesn't throw in the middle of the field and he can't throw downfield.
Speaker: And he throws for like 100 yards a game. So you're like, okay, well, that was a quick – That was a quick change. So, like, I don't know. The Broncos, they've already had to change their play caller, right? Like Sean Payton is now back calling plays.
Speaker: So that's a pretty big switch for the Broncos, right? That's something drastic. You're going to have soon with Justin – what's going on with Justin Herbert? i mean, that narrative, you know, like he's basically declined, been consistently declining. The guy you thought was gonna have a stellar year, they could be like 0-9. Their schedule's crazy and they're playing like ass. So you're going to play them week 12. They might be fucking out of it.
Speaker: Like they might be they might be not caring, they might be eliminated by then arresting Herbert. I have no idea. Well, again, just circling back to Drake May though, whether you look at it and say the Raiders played like ass, which they did, and they gave him time to like make throws that he was able to make throws.
Speaker: You still got look at who he's throwing it to and where he's placing the ball. And that's the part where you got to look at it and say, this kid just has it. Like he just has skill sets that other guys just don't have.
Speaker: So it gives you a ton of confidence, not only from a fan base, but also, players like players are going to rise up and and it's evident. And you look at how he's able to elevate guys, which is crazy to think about for a guy that's basically in his second year as an NFL quarterback, elevating the talent around him to get the, where he needs to get them to from an offensive standpoint to produce.
Speaker: And you put other guys out in like other situations like booty. And it's like, well, now he's got CJ Stroud throwing to him and, He's not as effective. And it basically shows what we've talked about, too, where Booty was a guy, but he was just a guy.
Speaker: So Drake is able to take it at this point and elevate it. And now we're sitting at the situation where we might have A.J. Brown back this week. Like, we may start to trend in the direction where we're going get guys healthy and things open itself up.
Speaker: I would look at this one and talk about AJ Brown resting. I'm in agreement with that. I had so so yeah i said that to you guys when its soon as it came up, I said, let them rest this week, bring them back for Chicago. It's a comment from Dougie. Just to read the comment from Dougie Fresh.
Speaker: on youtube again savage boston on youtube go subscribe um this guy says i've seen a lot of fans saying aj rest this week and let him come back for chicago bread agrees i don't i don't think that's like crazy it just depends truly if he's healthy or not i think if the player is healthy play the player maybe you have him on a on a pitch count right like you get him 20 20 snaps i don't know like you know what i mean but obviously this should be, should be a better matchup. The jets. Aren't that great. Their offense isn't that great.
Speaker: Their defense is better than their offense. But again, they're, they're not a super well-coached team, especially offensively. So you should be able to do a lot. You should be able to do a lot there is what I'd say.
Speaker: um Just another comment. um the ghost of Will McDonough, which is a great name, by the way. With the Jets, Bears, and Dolphins up next, the Patriots have an opportunity to develop Lomu, who can push them to six and two Huge dividends. Yeah, I think um I'm excited for Lomu.
Speaker: You know, I'm excited for Lomu. I don't know. Let's see what Lomu does. You know, I went through his tape today. I put i put a video on YouTube and just ah like looking through a bunch of Lomu snaps. He had one bad snap from the game against Koontz, right?
Speaker: One bad snap. Koontz got him. Like he he put his arm out, Koontz slapped him down and got all the speed rush and Drake had to bail at the back of the pocket. But I thought Lomu was good. He's a strong kid, very athletic, good anchor.
Speaker: i like how he looked. Let's see. I mean, I'm not – someone commented online like, oh, you're so ready to bury Will Campbell. It has nothing to do with Will Campbell. You're going to need two tackle youve two tackles.
Speaker: Two. Not one tackle. Two fucking tackles. You don't – like there's two. It's like, you know, like kidneys. Like you name like you need You need functioning. you know what I mean? So anyway, um Morgan Moses is clearly having a bunch of trouble, probably due to injury, but he had a hell of a go against Max Crosby. Like he had a really tough game.
Speaker: Crosby's fantastic. I get it. Crosby's fantastic. He had a really tough game. He had a tough game and he's had a couple of tough games for a couple weeks in a row. So. um Again, coming all the way back, so for Lomu-wise, I'm excited for Lomu.
Speaker: He's got a tough matchup against David Bailey. I think David Bailey is really good. Again, like, I'm not a guy who's going to sit here and pretend I hate all players in the league because they play for the Jets or something. Like I respect, I dislike the Jets organization.
Speaker: i respect players. And i especially respect David Bailey, who I think is really, really good. i think he's to be a really good prospect. And he's, he's a winner, man. He's going to be a solid player. Now, will he be ruined by that organization? Probably because they ruin almost every person that walks through that door because they're a horrific organization. Just want to be clear on that.
Speaker: Anyway, sorry. There's a lot there. Snooty, how are you feeling about Lomu and Campbell's situation? So, I mean, it was encouraging news that he's considered week to week and he dodged something big. I think if you're going to let him, I mean, it's not a bad week for, to let him sit for Lomo. The moment didn't look too big for him. um Yeah. I largely agreed with what David Andrews was saying on 98.5 today, where he's saying he does a lot of the things that we got on Campbell for last year. He catches a lot instead of kind of, you know, attacking like, yeah, instead of attacking, you know, at the point. But he's very athletic. He's obviously more comfortable at left tackle than he was at right – or he is at right tackle. So there's an element of that. But, mean, it's encouraging. I'm i'm also not going to do cartwheels over the fact that, like, he played a good half game against, a you know, a kind of a shitty opponent that, like, admittedly better at the end than other other places, but it didn't look too big for him. So it's encouraging for his development long-term. I'm not ready to like, everyone's going nuts being like, Oh, k that's it. Campbell's a guard. It's like, all right, relax. Like he played. Well, that's because people are just ready to, he played and a half quarters and he played two and a half quarters, like relax, like it's, it's relaxed. Also, again, I repeat, you need two tackles in the future, just to repeat here. Correct. Yes.
Speaker: Correct. Yes. How many? Two. Two. Yes. Like, yeah it's encouraging. It's good. i mean, it means he wasn't, at least as of right now, it doesn't look like a complete fucking flop from your first round pick, which is awesome.
Speaker: Sucks that he had to go in there, but he was ready. Yeah, I would say it's more of a situation where at least we got promising news about the Will Campbell injury. it doesn't look like it's as bad as it was last year. So hopefully it's, you know, week to week right now. I didn't throw him right on the IR. So.
Speaker: we get him back soon and we can get Caleb Lomu back into a development standpoint or being that, you know, safety net for potentially when Moses goes down. Cause he still looks like he's kind of has a nagging foot injury. That's really affecting him.
Speaker: Campbell's your guy at left tackle. No question about it. Up until this point, he's played really well. He's had some up and down moments, but again, he's another guy where it's like year two. He's not going to have,
Speaker: like everything be stalwart shut down everything he's gonna come in there he's gonna have his ups and his downs but by and large he's been extremely effective in the position at left tackle so i'm glad we have and a guy like lomo to be able to slide in there when your left tackle goes down my bigger concern is is the number of injuries again that we have stacking up because like what happens when another guy goes down or if another guy goes down, where are we turning? And that's the part that I think gets most concerning and trying to figure out where we can do and how we can pivot off of that. Cause these injuries will catch up to you. And even if you're going against a garbage team like the jets.
Speaker: I think like the Lomu replacing Moses argument is definitely one that people could have. Like if Lomu, let's say if Lomu plays pretty well and develops and then Moses continues having a really hard time,
Speaker: then I think, yeah, I think you could start having arguments for Lomu replacing Moses. Especially if Moses just with this foot injury, if he can't recover, because he's had a bad go, man, for a little while now. know he's hurt, but again, he's not moving well.
Speaker: I mean, which you'd expect from, and i know he's workhorse and he's a great player. He's been around for so long, but He doesn't move well, man. mean, compared to Lomu, how athletic he looks out there. You're like whoa, like I saw a do great screen pass. Lomu got out, sprinted out, you know, to make a ceiling block. like And again, with Drake's run, he, you know, pulled around and made another ceiling block. So he looks great on the run.
Speaker: um So, yeah, I think it's, you know, again, I think and think there's some conversations with Lomu. I'd love to see him just get a ton of reps, a ton of experience. I think would be really great.
Speaker: um see palmer from from youtube here i need dobbs to hold on to these contested catches uh holds on one of them camel injury it's hard to do like the whole if this happens is that's like the butterfly effect man like you can't do like oh if he holds this campbell doesn't do this like you can't extrapolate that kind of thing because it's just whatever happens happens like you can't you know what i mean so but i would agree with you i think dobbs I didn't get on Dobbs at all. I don't even think I mentioned Dobbs because they smoked him in the game. I just want to talk about how good a lot of people are playing.
Speaker: um But, yeah, like, yeah, Dobbs should have caught that ball in the end zone. That's for certain. I mean, he had deep drew a DPI that was Meza Meza on the first one. I thought he should have caught that first ball from Drake, which was really great.
Speaker: That end zone ball, like, you got to catch that ball yeah in the end zone. That's what you get him for. It's in his hands. Catch the football. Like I know that like that to me is one that he, I think knows he should have come down with.
Speaker: He, he had in his hands. So there's a few balls like Dobbs. It just wasn't his day, but he had a great game last week. So I'd expect him to bounce back. I think Dobbs is going to give you, he's going to give you something, but like, ultimately we know how this goes when Drake may is playing well, it nothing, it doesn't matter.
Speaker: Anyone can be playing with like when, when they're blocking for Drake and Drake seeing it, well, the team is winning football games, period. Drake was obviously outstanding.
Speaker: um His vision has been great. His pocket movement has been great. There's a lot positive that Drake's doing. This is one of the best games I've ever seen him play. I thought he was absurd, like truly absurd. i mean, he did everything in this game and threw it everywhere to like, again, he's throwing, he's throwing a chisholm.
Speaker: He's, you know, he's throwing a Raritan who I like a lot, you know, even Hunter Henry who moves at like a five foot, you know, 5.240 speed at the, you know, like, but when Drake's on like that, man, they're hard to, they're hard to stop.
Speaker: Yeah, back shoulder throws to Kyle Williams. But yeah yeah I do agree because Dobbs had about, what, four contested passes this game. And that end zone one was the one that frustrated me the most because he had both two hands clean on the ball. Drake put it basically where you got to put it for a jump ball.
Speaker: You know, it's a jump ball. I got to put it outside of the defenders reach and put it in a spot where you can get it. And you only, you can get it like that's the ball you got to catch. And so I look at that and I start to say, dogs, we need you to be that guy. Cause there's going to be big moments where we're going to have it. It's not going to be all runaways, walk in the parks. Like that's definitely not going to be the case.
Speaker: We need him to be able to make those more contested catches. So I agree. And i have not been super critical on Dobbs. I think he's had, by and large, been serviceable since we got him.
Speaker: um You know, I know that drop early on was the biggest thing, but, like, I haven't been super critical. I do think those contested catches, though, it's a problem. I want to see him tighten that up.
Speaker: That's what they paid him for, though. You know what i mean? Like, that's what he's getting paid for. So, like, that's why it's like, Hey, the he's good. He's a good player. like i'm not I think it was just a bad game. Everybody else picked him up.
Speaker: But he's got to catch that ball in the end zone. And that pass was fine. Again, the pass was fine. It was in his hands. In the end zone, catch him all. That was a really good pass. mean, I don't know what you want him to He's yeah's not going to be able to jump up over the top of the corner, of the D-back, because he would have been able be in position. Like, he literally put it on the inside – back shoulder the defender so that he couldn't make a turn on play on the ball. Like the defender couldn't get his hands anywhere near it because of where Drake placed it.
Speaker: It was a ball that literally only Dobbs could have gotten to. Drake have placed it on anybody. Yeah. No, I thought it was i thought it was well done. um And I did another video too on Ramondre, just looking at him. I thought, again, just to give him some flowers, I thought he was excellent.
Speaker: i don't know if anyone else is paying attention or care, you know, just because he's history of fumbling. Nobody seems to want to talk about him as a good player. But like i thought he was great, man, like catching the ball in the backfield, running it over guys, making guys. make i He broke so many tackles in this game and he had one run. He broke like four tackles in one run for a 12 yard run. So like I thought he was fantastic. Did you guys see anything from Andre in this game?
Speaker: He's far and away the best running back right now. like I know they're they're losing Henderson, and Henderson's the home run threat, but like Henderson, it feels like, doesn't make any anyone miss. If it's there, he'll go, and he's going to get a lot of yards if there's something there. He just runs straight. but like whereas like Stevenson's got some wiggle to his game, and like he makes people miss. like like That one 12-yard run, like it should have been... If that were Henderson, that would have been like a two-yard run.
Speaker: Yeah. like Because he's just the first guy he just would have slammed right into, and and that's the end of it. like Henderson, just as quick aside, Henderson's one of the worst running backs in football at, like, leaving yards on the field. Yes. Like, he leaves yards. You know what I mean? Like, there's metrics behind it. Like, so he he obviously still has a lot to work on. Sorry, go for it.
Speaker: no It's just like Stevenson so important. He's really good in the pass game, um like pass blocking and receiving. like he's just He's easily their best um they're best back at the moment. I see the comment here. feels like Henderson to IR is happening. Here's an underrated storyline.
Speaker: like you're not You can't just bring everyone back from IR. There's only so many guys you can bring back. It's like seven or eight. and It's like eight guys. to playoff I've ever looked this up. Eight guys in the playoffs, it's ten.
Speaker: Yeah, and they just – I think they used one for Marcus Bryant. They're clearly going to use one for A.J. Brown. it' So, it's like – it's like there aren't – you have fucking half your team on the IR right now. Like, you can't bring them all back.
Speaker: And obviously, like, in when you – like, okay, he's not coming back. Like, he just fucking snapped his leg in half. But, like, you know, you can't bring everybody back here, guys. Like, some of these guys are not coming back.
Speaker: Lan Larrison going to be r b three this week? He's got two more elevations left. I think he might be if Haskins is practice squad, get Larrison up as the off speed kind of back the pass catching back.
Speaker: Maybe Larrison gives you more than Henderson. Let's let's see. I don't know. um But yeah, no, I think. Yeah. Sorry. Go for it. I was just going to, was just going to jump in and just say, you know, one thing I will give some roses to is Josh McDaniels has started to really schematically change the way he's going at teams. And i think, know,
Speaker: you know He's doing the right thing to try to provide some support with the run blocking and chipping on the on the edges especially to try to make sure you neutralize some of the guys or give them a little bit longer time. But even just you know the way he's attacking teams, it's not as vanilla as it looked to start the season. So I don't know what changed or why it changed. i get again it can't all be because it's a weaker opponent because if that's the way you're going to coach well then that's that is a little concerning like you you can't go that vanilla against a team like um seattle and then basically say well their defense is that legit that we have to just go vanilla and then make it super easy on them like you have to be aggressive and they just messed up that
Speaker: That game. They just messed up. that The Seattle game was just a bad plan. You know what I mean? But then after that, like I still think when they were going against Pittsburgh, other than the opening drive, they looked very kind of flat and blah. Like they just didn't look great. And you're just like, what's going on? Jacksonville, you're like, i don't even know what we're trying to do right now.
Speaker: Like I couldn't even tell you what we're trying to do right now. So I just think you could see a noticeable change over the last two weeks and he's being way more aggressive. He's putting more guys out and we talked about it. If you sit there and you say like, I have confidence in Drake may, and you're saying that in the media, you're saying that in front of the players, all of this, but then you go out there and call a basic offense the way he'd been calling it up to that point.
Speaker: you're not really backing up what you're saying. You're not giving him confident plays to say, hey, Drake, I believe you're going to be able to find the open guy and read the offense and make the right throw.
Speaker: They were like, no, we're Drake. We're going to give you a play action on a time when we have no run game to be able to support this. And we're only going to put two guys up when they're playing cover two zone and they're basically going to be bracketed. Go figure it out.
Speaker: I think couple we couple couple things was a We'll say the question from Doug Fresh on Savage Boston YouTube, which says, when will we know the status of AJ? If Rabel's going to a press conference tomorrow, you're going to probably figure something out about AJ tomorrow.
Speaker: Like he he's going to ask first thing, is AJ Brown out to practice today? And he's goingnna be like, we'll see. there so Or he might say yes, or he might say no. You know what I mean? we'll We'll see what he says, but you'll know this week if he's practicing, obviously. I think if he's just like not practicing at all,
Speaker: then, um you know, then obviously he's not playing this weekend. But we'll see. I kind of suspect he'll be out there. That's just my impression. I think he, from everyone's vibes, you're saying, like, I think he's rearing to get out there, man. And he's a fucking beast. People ah again, people are are forgetting that they're adding an all-pro wide receiver in A.J. Brown. Like, we're just forgetting, oh, yeah, we're adding A.J. fucking Brown.
Speaker: You know i mean? Like, ah so i'm just saying, like, things are are looking up. I think injury-wise, like, they got beat to shit, man. The first bunch of weeks of the year, they've had a really tough go injury wise. I think Campbell going out too, like that really sucks, but um you know, you just gotta, they gotta battle, off you know, they gotta battle. That's it. And I think as far as McDaniels goes, yeah, I think he's, he's adding some new wrinkles. They have more motion. They've been using a ton more motion. This is just over the last two weeks.
Speaker: Literally they're using more motion. There's a guy in motion now, 60 plus percent before every single snap to least help diagnose somewhat. You know, it's only a few times you go against a really tricky D coordinators like Mike McDonald, who disguises everything and, and you know, pulls out and has like crazy blitz stuff and stunts every play. um You know, Pittsburgh, again, has some of that, too.
Speaker: But you obviously beat them. And I think the next time you're going to get that. um i don't think it's against the bears not against the jets i don't think it'd be against you know many other green bay it's really like you have to play the vikings later in the season you have to play the chiefs and the broncos and so the chiefs would like spags the broncos are the broncos so like you do have some defenses coming up that'll be tough but it's all like later in the season you should be at this meat of the season now where i think drake can really like get rolling and um and don't know. I think he's going to right back in the mix. I'm not saying like MVP conversations again, but like if he rolls like he can roll, me it's undeniable. I mean, he's like one of the best players in football. not the best when he plays like that, you know, it's crazy. So, um so yeah, anything you guys want to address for that?
Speaker: I was just going to say, let's just switch to the other side of the ball and talk about how he's been playing. Because, I mean, talk about another another side where you're just getting so ravaged with injuries.
Speaker: You're still down the best player in defense, Christian Gonzalez. Then you go down Carlton Davis and you're going against a team that has been able to move the ball. You essentially neutralized Gentry for most of the game. And Brock Bowers just was not able to do anything when you had no one for defensive back. Like,
Speaker: just well barrett bowers did did some yep like late on and like garbage time but like you you it was one of those things where you look at going into it and you're like i don't know how it's gonna i thought we were gonna have a real hard time trying to slow down their offense because of how many injuries we had and just how well they were playing i just felt like it was going to be a problem and kubiak's be able to figure out i mean um Yeah, they'd just be able to figure it out. But, like, I don't know. I just i think the defense, the way they're playing, is surprising at the level. I think the Raiders look like deer in the headlights, man. Like, once it's that game got out hand, that coaching staff was like, oh, this isn't good. Like, they had no they had no idea how to slow it down, basically.
Speaker: um It was kind of ish to what the Patriots, it felt like against the Jaguars, where Vrabel was, like, really pissed at his team for, like, giving up on that game. Um, yeah, Brock Bowers, um, Brock Bowers is really, really awesome. Again, great player. Not much. You can say there. They try to do one-on-one with Marcus Jones on him, which was dumb.
Speaker: Uh, didn't work and didn't work immediately. I'm glad they switched off. They put like Jalen Reed on him more to do some one-on-ones on him. But, um, yeah, as far as Gonzo, I hope Gonzo's back. They didn't use an IR spot for him. This would be two weeks missing. Like I'd like him in there to, to shadow Garrett Wilson.
Speaker: I think that would be great. He does that normally. Garrett Wilson's really good. And then, like, I don't know. well Is Kenny and Sadiq, I think, is out for the Jets? like I don't know. Is Brees Hall out too? like I don't actually know what the Jets' offense, like, does really at this point. I don't, you know. Hall week to week.
Speaker: he was He's been out the last couple weeks. Who are you talking about? Brees Hall. yeah, yeah. Hall's week to week. I mean, how's that offense humming right now, the Jets' offense? Like, I can't imagine it's playing particularly well.
Speaker: You know what i mean? Yeah, I mean, they suck. The fucking Jets, they suck. It's just one of those teams where you're like, I don't know, how are they going to suck this year? I don't know. Just wait and see.
Speaker: Like, they went an entire year without intercepting a ah pass last year. And then they went, i don't know, a decent drunk into this season before it happened, too. It's like... they're They're not a good team. They're not well coached. Their quarterback is mediocre at best. Like, you should, on paper, destroy this team.
Speaker: And I know it's a division game, so, you know, it'll be closer than you think. But, ah you know, you should beat this team handily. Like, the the thing from the Raiders that actually surprised me most was was the other tight end not doing anything. I expected Bowers to go off. You can't shut down Bowers. But – my me or may or whatever he didn't do anything and that's really encouraging because it's like they've had trouble you know in the not maybe less so this year but in the past you know covering tight ends like that and i kind of expected their second tight end against a depleted secondary could uh you know kind of go off so i don't know i don't see any single area outside of wilson where like you have any resemblance of fear and not that you fear wilson but like
Speaker: What else do they have? They don't have anything. They suck. Like, their talent is on defense, so it could be a lower scoring game in that regard. But, like, even that, I'm like, they're not as talented as the other some of the other defenses they've played. the big it should be It should be a really bad matchup for the Jets.
Speaker: i mean i don't know how you square it away like their offense should not do much against the patriots like i don't even know just offensive coordinator wise are they going to scheme up a scripted drive to to start the game like i don't it just i just it feels like a real serious mismatch uh especially foxborough one o'clock just like you know i think the patriots obviously win the game which we will talk about but um yeah i don't i can't tell you like with the raiders mean, going in, I thought that was not a great matchup for the Raiders. It was just like you take away Brock Bowers. If you had Gonzo in that game shadowing Brock Bowers, think the Raiders score like seven points.
Speaker: Like that game is like 45 to seven. Like that game is a complete drudging, I think, if if Bowers is it's covered by Gonzo. But but he's out. so you know Or Carl Davis even. But like they're both out. it's You know what I mean? So I hope to see them both back.
Speaker: this week. I think that would be really great, really great timing. And can't look ahead to like a short week against the bears, but like, yeah, they should match up really well. And again, that's just back to defense wise. Like, yeah, they're playing really well, man. I mean, Oh, I want to talk about you guys and tell me your opinions, but Elijah Ponder and Gabe Hackey.
Speaker: How are we feeling about the, the, the young, the young edge roll guys? Very surprised. Um, I mean, shout out Sophie Weller, who basically called Ponder right from the beginning and basically said. She did, yeah. yeah can Yeah, shout out Sophie. Great call. She had him pegged. She was wicked high on him, yeah. He's got, what, four and a half sacks, right, through the game. So he's been phenomenal.
Speaker: And Iakis, yeah, I mean, we were all doubting him going in through the preseason and could get into form coming in And we were even questioning some of the effort plays that he had early on where we were like, what is that? Like, it shouldn't happen. You shouldn't get tired. You should be going full go. And, and now you get a bad summer or bad, bad, bad summer.
Speaker: He had a bad start. And, you know, we were all questioning and highly concerned about our ability to put pressure on the quarterback. And those two guys have come to play. And, And then you go down again in the game, Draymond Jones goes down again.
Speaker: Like we're super, super thin. So if those guys did not produce or are don't continue to produce, it's it's a huge concern. But it's awesome to see them come to form.
Speaker: Huge surprise for me coming in because I did not think they were going be this good. And I thought this was going to be a glaring issue on the team. If anything, I think it's almost like a pseudo strength on their defense.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean, I don't think anybody saw this level of of play from not just one of them, but both of them, right, to this point in the season. um Yeah. I mean, you always, like, Akis, the rush on ah the tackle against Dawkins from from the Bills, like, that's our that's his game. That was real shit, though.
Speaker: He's got speed. He's got some quickness. But, like, he's a powerful guy. he's That's his game. And, like, when he gets that going, then he can, you know, build his repertoire off of that, like that's a long day for a tackle when you've got a guy who can do that. So, but um,
Speaker: I mean, very, very surprised that it's an area of concern for me going forward, because in addition to being thin, like you said, um, like Ackes couldn't wear down, like rookies typically wear down as the season goes on. Um, you get Stark getting week 13, 14, 15, 16, stuff like that, like much less the playoffs, if they make it like, you know, like that's, that's a lot of football and he's playing a lot of football in the game. So, um,
Speaker: I wouldn't mind seeing them add some level of depth there if they can survive fucking injuries elsewhere. Like just to, you know, keep those guys fresh and keep them healthy for the season. Because if one of one or both of them goes down, that that's it's a big fucking problem.
Speaker: Well, I mean, we'll we'll talk about the guy here, Rishi Anand, says is Draymond Jones' injury serious? Hopefully not because he's still a really valuable player. And i like Draymond Jones a lot. I think he's played really well.
Speaker: um but you know, I think the young edges, man, like Akis, Akis, we said this when he, he benched like two 25, something like 30 times. It was some like very high number for a modern edge where you're like, I was saying coming out, like that's a high number. Like that strength number is really good, but he's going to be really powerful.
Speaker: And yeah, does he still need to develop like a ah speed move? Yeah, he does. And I think he'll get better with that as he goes. But like, He's powerful. Like you got to respect him. Like you really have to respect that player. If you get caught lacking, like especially Deion Dawkins to get caught like that, to get knocked on his ass, like a a pro bowler, like a five-time pro bowler knocked on his ass. That was crazy.
Speaker: And you know, like he's seen that clip many times and he's like, fuck, like I fucked that up. So he did not respect that because his bull rush and ponder feels like almost like a complete package.
Speaker: He's one of the highest graded players like in football and PFF. Week to week, he's he's elite. Not only is he top 10 in the NFL in sacks right now, playing the run really well. like He feels like a complete package. And one of the Patriots coaches said he might be one of the best free agent signings they've ever had like because he was an undrafted free agent that they signed. I mean, so just looked up his combine numbers too.
Speaker: He was incredibly explosive. He he like ah vert vertical leave was like 40 inches. Like he's combine free. that they found and is just basically completely developed. And so just massively high on both those guys.
Speaker: Yeah. Huge revelation revelation for our entire defense. Like, again, we thought it was going to be a weak spot and a huge glaring concern for us.
Speaker: And it's, again, it's a pseudo strike. It's been something where they've been able to do it on a consistent basis, not only setting the edge and doing it on a run side, but also being able to get it,
Speaker: get at the quarterback at periods of time, put pressure on him, you know, good pressure rate, good sack results. Like it's just, it's great to see. And then if you can continue to supplement and get some, you know, good getting far more now, and then you got obviously Milton Williams doing Milton Williams does.
Speaker: I think, you know, he's still going to be a ah ah presence in there. Like it's just going to be a ah strong front defensive line that's creating a lot of problems.
Speaker: But yeah, we'll see. I'm hoping we probably address that during the trade deadline and try to pick up someone and from these kind of lower end teams that are going to look to try to dump salary.
Speaker: But again, it'll be a salary dump. Maybe it'll be, ah you know, half season rental or maybe you'll get something else. We'll see. We're not quite there yet, but. Yeah, but where would you where would you trade? Like what position would you trade for? Like if you wanted to make a trade, what would you trade for?
Speaker: offensive lineman and the end. So like, I'm cool at the end. Cause like Harold Landry might come back and Drake, you know what I mean? Like ah I'm, I'm cool at the end.
Speaker: I would trade for a guard. Like, I don't know if you, but again, like they probably, i don't know if they want to spend the money, but like Ben Brown's been okay. um I would still, I would pick up a guard. Like if you, if you can get someone, but well, cause I don't think they'll get anybody.
Speaker: What if Vera Tucker goes down? or what if I mean, yeah. if you're yeah so like You just don't have depth there. so No. i would I would get a guard, and i would get a deal Some of it depends on Van Roten. like What's like his injury? Is he coming back?
Speaker: right Because if he's coming back in a few weeks, then okay, fine. Maybe that's your depth. I'm just not sure what is not a ton of quality depth out there for alignment. Teams generally don't trade on linemen, much less mid season, right? Like it just doesn't really happen. um I, but you know, if you're going to do that, the end depth um again, i guess, depending upon what you think Landry has slash if he's coming back or when, um And then, I mean, realistically, I'm not sure what else, maybe linebacker depth, but like, and then running back, I guess, depending upon what happens with Henderson or Stevenson or whatever. Stevenson has been banged up too. Right. So like, i don't know. I mean,
Speaker: The other thing about the DNs is, and not to bring up the draft, but, like, could you imagine, like, if you have good play at the end, like, like if think if you think of the marquee positions, you have a corner, you have a left tackle. If you have a pass rush and you have a quarterback, like, and you have a number one receiver, like, you're in a really, really good fucking standpoint, position from a team building standpoint.
Speaker: Like, badly I let you do whatever the hell you want, like basically in the offseason coming up, which is, again, not to get too far ahead, but it's just like the the revelation. do we want Do we want to do do we want a new draft talk right now?
Speaker: I'm just saying it extends past this season. like if you Let's just do full draft talk right now. If you had to make a first-round draft pick, what draft would you do? To honest, there are some DNs in that draft.
Speaker: um that are pretty uh phenomenal you know uh you probably won't be the position to get him unless the attitude can start like dylan stewart let's see how bad his attitude gets that like you can just get dylan stewart fall or like that um colin simmons in texas when's he gonna get drafted like three overall five or something yeah he's crazy i mean it's a crazy draft it really is which is again why they didn't want to give up their their first this year because it's going to be a really good draft. don't know what they're going to do. Should have to another fucking tackle?
Speaker: I don't know. No one liked in the draft that's playing really well for Miami is that Jacob Rodriguez, that linebacker. I guess he's like all over the fucking field. you do it Linebacker. He's pretty good.
Speaker: It would be. Like he's all over the field, like off-ball linebacker. Like that to me could be a need at some point when it slows down there. Again, we don't actually have to be draft talker. To be fair, though, the reason he's got so many tackles is because Miami is their defense is on the field the whole fucking game. It's all bad it's a bad team.
Speaker: Breer had a tweet where he was like, well, it's usually a sign when you have that many tackles, you're on pace for that. yeah He's like, that's a good point. yeah he's like But I mean, also, your team sucks it's like, remember ah when the Bears played the Jets like the other week and the Bears players, Bears offense controlled the ball, the ball like 43 minutes and the Jets had it like 17 minutes.
Speaker: And the Bears player defensive players left the game. They're like, we've never felt fresher. Like this is after the Jets. So just keep that in mind this weekend. Like, I don't know how much the Jets are going to control the ball.
Speaker: I don't know i mean, we could be surprised. But again, back to the take shit, the Schrodinger's take. um You know, we say here now, I don't think the Jets are good. The Patriots should win. The Patriots should beat them by a couple scores, right?
Speaker: However, um if the Jets play a lot better than we think, I'll give them credit for playing well. Like I'm not going to be like, actually they were actually good. And I pretended that they were bad. Like, no, like you give them credit if they play a good game.
Speaker: Do I think it's going to happen? I don't. I think the Patriots should be, are a much better coach team. I think they're, I think they should give Geno Smith a lot of fits. I think they shouldn't be able to run the ball. Well, I think the Patriots should really have a good go. I'll be there. I'll be there on Sunday. Should be fun. um But yeah, so I'll, I'll predict. I'll do my score now. I'll take a Like 30 to 14 Patriots. by like a bunch of points.
Speaker: What do you guys got? Yeah, I'm not going to go that high on points. I give the Jets a little bit more defensive credit. So I'm going to 24, but I don't think the Jets' offense is any good. So I'm going to pass.
Speaker: I was just about to say Patriots. You're going by like 14 to 17 points basically.
Speaker: yes um i think again on paper the patriots are and in reality patriots are a substantially better team but it's a division game you know i don't think there's bad weather this weekend but um you know it's a division game those can get ugly it's supposed to be like cold and windy but yeah i don't know how much the wind going to factor at game time i just know it's going to be cold and windy not a great weekend Great. Enjoy the game.
Speaker: Great. Thank you. I'm going to wear some like ah cold gear or some shit. How cold are we talking? What's the do the meteorologist breath weather report? Well, not like cold, cold, but like in the 40s, I think.
Speaker: The 40s? I think so. I mean, that's what it was supposed to be on Saturday. let me see. Oh, my God. That would blow. 53 for a high on Sunday. 53 for a high.
Speaker: Okay. That's fine. That's comfy. We'll be comfy. Well, I mean, it's a one o'clock game, so. both a High 40s, low 50s, yeah. As long it's not pouring out, like, I'm cool with it. Just don't be pouring.
Speaker: The overnight low is like 30. It's probably going to be cold when you get there. o Friday, Saturday. suppose get some ah Get the liquid jacket going and... We'll settle on in.
Speaker: Got to get lubed up. Got get lubed up. Anything else you guys want to touch on? Anything anything else relevant? ah What did you guys think about the 0-1 Pats coming out and the whole celebration? And I guess I'll throw in the lack of Bill Brady presence.
Speaker: Kraft and Belichick fucking hate each other. Bill's never coming back. Bill's girlfriend wore an Orchids of Asia shirt to a basketball game in public of where Kraft solicited prostitution.
Speaker: I forgot about that. That Bill approved off. Bill's like, ugh, good shirt. Like, can you imagine? He'll never be let back. At this point, I don't know how he'll ever get some sort of statue. i don't know.
Speaker: I mean, it's crazy how these guys – you get people at the top, man, get wronged. insane. Yeah.
Speaker: You know, Brady to me has tried his best to mend all the, you the fences, the bridges, whatnot. I think Brady has done his best. He's a politician basically at this point. Brady's kind of an alien. There's deep down real Tom is in there somewhere, but I think he's kind of ah an amalgam of, of his, you know, his personality has shifted and changed. Yeah.
Speaker: you know, so I don't know what his goal is. Ultimately, it's too bad because you you love seeing guys like, you know, Ty Lobby around and even like Lloyd Malloy and Willie McGinnis and Seymour. And, you know, it's great to see all those guys back because they're so, so awesome. But.
Speaker: Yeah, the big dogs, Belichick and Brady, they're two they're apparently above it, right? But Brady considers himself above it, and Belichick doesn't give a fuck. so anyone else we have Bill's never coming back.
Speaker: He's just not. like They literally they fucking hate each other. they it like They're never coming back. I don't know. I mean, look, Brady clearly like – Look, i don't he first of all, he owns the other team, which would make it a little bit awkward. He's also working. So they're like, why didn't he send a video? It's like, I don't know. that's just Would that really matter? like Does it really matter? No. He was working.
Speaker: He's also literally in the building working for the team. it's awesome I think they think they're above it, dude. weak Like they did this week to do it.
Speaker: On purpose. oh way Obviously. Well, you had Vinatieri who basically just like stomped on the Raiders, but now we own them and now Tom literally owns part of the team. It's all ah optics play. They did it Raiders week cause because Brady's the owner and Vinatieri and they beat him in that run. Like it's all looped in. They're like, hey, Tom, we know you own the Raiders now.
Speaker: Ha You remember when you beat the Raiders? That was cool. Like it's all orchestrated. They organize like nothing's an accident. It's all set down. like, oh, let's do this celebration this week because Brady owns them so we can stick it to Tom and celebrate how we beat. like It's all what how they plan all this shit.
Speaker: so it's I'm not surprised Brady didn't participate. I think that's crazy that he that you anyone thought he would. I know they talked about it on the radio. It just feels silly they thought he would participate. i know I never thought he'd be there for a second.
Speaker: No, no. What is pretty wild to think about is like Belichick is, I would think in all likelihood getting into the Hall of Fame next year. Probably for that.
Speaker: You know, like what does that look like? i think it depends. does brad Is that beneath Brady? Like Brady only shows up for people paying him millions of dollars, right? Like Brady shows up to Fanatics events.
Speaker: because he's got tons of money and business partnerships in those, right? He shows up to public events with like a fucking other owners or a president or, you know, it has to like, to me, he's so ego driven, like is showing up at the hall of fame. Is that, is that beneath Tom?
Speaker: No, he would go. i mean, he went, I hope so. He went to Manning's. Yeah. He'll go. He would go to that unless he's working. Again, but deep down, you know that old Tom is in there somewhere that just likes football. Just football Tom. He's in there. But, like, he just getting he's just got some bad advice, man, with these, like, weird commercials and fake brawls. Like, he just got bad advice from some business manager for relevancy.
Speaker: um And so i don't I don't know. I think it's odd, his choices. but um I blame Alex Carrero. For Brady's choices? Yes.
Speaker: hey was I don't know how Alex Guerrero managed to get a fucking massage deal with Tom into part, like basically being in the front office of the Raiders. Like talk about just a home run. Like that's the dream as like, as like ah a healthcare or like a practitioner, like maybe I'll have one client who's so wealthy and powerful. He'll just bring me into the front office of a fucking NFL franchise. Like that's insane to me.
Speaker: Uh, And especially since his medical background and qualifications often conflict with the training staff. And there's been reports that he just walks around there saying and doing whatever the fuck he wants all the time.
Speaker: It's crazy. It's batshit. But like Brady doesn't operate on the same plane. He just does what he wants. So um it's crazy to me.
Speaker: Oh, well, we'll see. At least we got just this week. Pat's already a roll. I'm looking forward to it. I'm really looking forward to Chicago next week because just – I'm hoping Caleb Williams is healthy for it just because I want him to implode.
Speaker: He's supposed to be back this week, but they will be out Montez Sweat. Oh, yeah, I saw that. That's big too. He's their best like DN. That's big. Caleb Williams, same game plan as Josh Allen. Just keep him in the pocket.
Speaker: Yeah. Make them throw. Keep them in. Make them throw. But they have a really good OC. So that we know about. We'll talk about that next week. So, all right. Well, peace out now. Thank you everyone for tuning in. And this will be up online and on podcast world. So we will catch you next week. Peace.
Speaker: Peace.
