Transcript

Speaker: Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and of course, the spooky season. I'm Rafa. I'm Joey. I'm Kelly.

Speaker: I'm Tyler. i almost I almost said, and I'm Rafa. I don't know why almost said it. I'm so used to being last. i was about to say it again. Okay.

Speaker: All right. We're doing great. Yeah, we're doing great. We're doing great. We're doing great. But this week, we do have some HHN spec map updates, which is pretty exciting. Unless you're unless you're a Gaga fan, then you're not going to like some of the news that we have. But We'll get into that shortly. But um but yeah, as always, let's start off with some spills. Joey, what do we have?

Speaker: Staying on theme with the lore for TCM. I'm getting old. So i ah I guess I'll just throw this in there too. This is kind of a spill. I went to Six Flags over Georgia again. um This is two weeks after the opening weekend that I previously reported on and nothing changed.

Speaker: So Gold Rush is still closed and all of the things that were running one train are still running one train. Great. Awesome. um I will say I went on Easter Sunday morning and it was completely dead and they closed the park early because it was a little bit rainy in the morning. um I think they closed it really because there was nobody there. But anyway,

Speaker: Um, long story short, I was riding Goliath and I was feeling like a headache could come on. And so I don't always do this, but we hit the helix and I did that like fighter jet move where you squeeze your thighs to try to keep the blood in the upper half of your body so you don't gray out.

Speaker: And I start squeezing and then like halfway through kind of dialing up to that, my back went boop. and it just yeah just to squeezing.

Speaker: And I had to like o limp off the ride. i was like, oh gosh. And it's still messed up. um But shout out to you. Back to the car right after that.

Speaker: It was ridiculous. Yeah. I mean, I still like walked around the park a lot more and like wrote a bunch of other things, but it was like very irritating to me that that happened from something like so simple seeming to me that I just like. How did your back go out? i was squeezing my legs and butt on a roller coaster. Yeah, literally. That is funny.

Speaker: You don't share that. Well, you're sharing it now. There's only two roller coasters I do that ever on. It's Goliath only sometimes. And I almost always do it on Panthereon because that first turn will bring me out.

Speaker: So I'll like squeeze for that. But it just cracked me up. I was not expecting that. It's never happened to me before. I've tweaked my back getting out of bed before, but not just like doing this. It's so funny. so now i'm going to be scared to do it. I'm just going to gray out. It's fine. I'll black out. Whatever. Okay.

Speaker: nice I treat life this afternoon. put in your no ah why are we like this but i I found some, um I found a YouTube video that is a 12 minute long, like core workout. And all of the comments are people saying like, oh, this fixed my back pain. So I have started doing that every day now.

Speaker: And it definitely has helped a little bit. I'm really hoping for like the magical curing that some of the comments are saying is going to happen, but it might take some time. So we'll see. I'll report back. You got cat cow.

Speaker: Exactly. Well, yeah. Yeah. This is a lot of like, it's a lot of, I don't even know what to call it, like hamstrings and like, it's very weird and terrible positions. They put your body and it's like planking in midair kind of stuff. um So I think it's, I don't know. We'll see if it helps. We'll see.

Speaker: Drop that link in the chat, please. Yeah, we're all going to meet. I know.

Speaker: Kelly, how about you? Okay, I've mentioned this a little bit before, but for me, i think this is truly the year of space and aliens as a theme. I started off the year by watching Begonia. I watched a second time. We're going to discuss that a little bit later. um And then it's just kind of escalated from there. Then Tyler went on his trip and all the alien stuff. So I was into that. And then I read Project Hail Mary and watched that.

Speaker: And i just I really feel like I'm getting back into the whole alien vibe. And now I'm obsessed with Artemis, too. Have you guys been watching? i am obsessed with these people. Also, i love that they were fighting over being the furthest person in the cabin when they were like the furthest point away from where like humans have traveled because they were trying to be the furthest. Like that is some petty shit I would do.

Speaker: Like, oh, excuse me, I just have to get over here. Like, that is amazing. That, and then I cried when they named the crater after the guy's dead wife. I i just can't with them. I'm obsessed with Ardmiss 2. And um there's still an alien on the spec map. So maybe HHN knows it's the year of the alien.

Speaker: i mean, i love that one. I'm into do it. Okay. So I heard, I saw something where like, was it Microsoft Outlook was having problems on Artemis or something like that?

Speaker: I don't know. That just cracked me up. Like they they were having email issues. Oh, didn't hear about that. Welcome to the Yeah, literally. I'm just like, it's even in space, it doesn't work.

Speaker: ah I love it. I watch it every night before I go to bed. It's almost over already. Bummer. Yeah. It's a two days from now. the fridays flash Yeah. And Tyler.

Speaker: yeah yeah

Speaker: and tyler Mine is just a random observation that I had. And I'd love for somebody with kids that plays sports to weigh in. But um I worked a youth basketball tournament a couple weekends ago.

Speaker: and it was like AAU or travel ball. So it's like all these parents are paying like hundreds of dollars and they're traveling from like, you know, states away to come and play in this tournament. One of the final scores of a game I was watching in basketball was 76 to one.

Speaker: Yeah. Oh. The kids on the one team, like they have the decked out uniforms and like they look good and everything. But these kids don't look like they've ever touched a basketball in their life.

Speaker: And meanwhile, the other kid, these are like probably nine year old kids, by the way, maybe 10. And the other kids, they're just like draining threes at nine years old, like from the full length. And it's like, I don't know. I just don't understand why it seems like youth sports have gone like so far into the AAU travel side. Like I just played rec ball when I was growing up.

Speaker: And if you're not good, you should just play rec ball. Like is rec ball not a thing anymore? Like why are these parents paying hundreds, probably thousands of dollars? Cause I think this other team was from North Carolina. So they drove at least like two or three hours to come to the tournament.

Speaker: Why are the parents paying thousands of dollars for these kids that can't even dribble a basketball? I don't understand. Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, no. ah Is that a thing? Have we lost rec leagues? I don't know. No, definitely not. Like my... Hello, I'm the resident parent here. i say i My... So my one child is old enough to play youth sports. My other one does too, but it's like very young kid youth sports. But all of her sports are like wreck or like through the school district. Like they they do have travel options, but it's just like unheard of at her age, which is good. um But I definitely know some of those things exist. Like it exists a lot for volleyball in our area um and some of the sports that are like less...

Speaker: active, I guess, within like, so in our school district, like there's rec soccer, baseball, softball, football, and basketball ah and lacrosse. As far as I know, maybe field hockey for her age are like the sports, but like outside of that, like I know hockey in our area is big, but you pretty much have to do travel hockey. There's not like youth hockey otherwise.

Speaker: Um, and then as you get older, there's travel options, but it's just not like, it's just not a thing that I've reached the the age of yet with my kids. But I think it's just in general, Scott, you sports has like the seriousness of them has skyrocketed. Like when I was young, it was like, oh, you practice like once a week, have one game a week. And then like,

Speaker: That's it. But like now everything is more hours, more time, more traveling. Like, for example, the rec football that we do for my now five year old, he started playing it when he was three, travels up to an hour away for away games.

Speaker: What? how yeah That's just how the league is. rec league, but it travels. And these kids are on the field playing like 10 minutes halves. we're like driving an hour away. It's like this, that just the insanity. Like what is wrong our generation who's deciding that this is okay? Now dance is a whole other story. My daughter dances. She dances very competitively.

Speaker: It's not cheap. We travel not far, but we do travel. There are opportunities for further travel, but that's like a whole different, like you expect to do that when you sign up for that aspect, they have no additional dance available, but the sports it's like, i I dread when the football schedule comes out and it's like, where are we off to this weekend for an hour? were one direction. It's just like, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, that's crazy. And the sports are getting so crazy at a young age that seven year olds are having to choose what activity they want to do. And they're not able to the sports like we did when we were young. It's like this is insanity. That is crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. Like I get it for some of the less popular sports like hockey. You're not going to be able to have rec hockey league. There's not enough players. you're going to have to travel a little bit. Yeah.

Speaker: But like basketball, I mean, even growing up in Williamsburg, like not a super big town, not super small, but even every age group still fielded like five or six teams for each for each like age level. So for sure, i don't know. And then you would always be in one place, right? Yeah. it was like at the whisk. Remember I used to do rec soccer. You would only go to the whisk. That's the only place you had to go.

Speaker: There was like six fields and it was just, yeah, it was just a matter of which field you were on for the day. Now it's like, which city, like what's going on? Yeah, and then you have like these – some of these teams were from like both from North Carolina, but they're playing each other here.

Speaker: Like you just, you're paying for this travel league. Yeah. You're paying for this travel league, driving two, three, four hours. And then you're just playing the team that's 30 minutes from you. It doesn't make any sense. You know who we should talk to about this? I know he doesn't listen, but Marcus, I'm calling you out. I know. was going to say, yeah Marcus is the one who's very. That makes travel a lot.

Speaker: Yeah. Very much in that world. Yeah.

Speaker: Anyways, that got me unexpectedly riled up. I mean, it's crazy, though. Like, that's wild. I don't know. I mean, but something that riled me up, which I'll get into my spill, movie theater etiquette. Okay. I don't know if this is going to fall under the old category as well. i don't i don't think so. But, i mean, you guys, I guess you can judge that. but um So I recently renewed my Regal membership. I had it before. I canceled it some time ago, and I decided to get it back.

Speaker: There were too many movies coming out that I was like, might as well just renew it Um, and I've been using the hell out of it. I think I've gone to like seven movies since like in the last week and a half. So I've been at the movies like quite a bit. Yeah. I've been going a lot. I've been making great use of that, but, um, but okay. First being the obvious, i don't get people who talk at full volume when they're in the middle of a movie. Like I don't understand it.

Speaker: I don't understand how they don't feel uncomfortable talking at that volume. because nobody else is talking at the same time. That drives me crazy. But that's one little thing that's like the obvious thing.

Speaker: um But what drives me crazy, and I think it's cause I've been noticing it so much now, um people who just love to leave their trash everywhere. Like as the movie ends, they just get up And they leave. And like you see like half filled buckets of popcorn. You have all the cups everywhere. You have napkins all over the ground. Like every container from the concession stand is there waiting for the worker to come in and pick it up.

Speaker: But we all have to walk past the garbage can at the front of the fucking auditorium. Like, it's just like, I i don't get it. i don't get why people would just want to leave their shit around. Like, it's crazy. It drive it drives me crazy.

Speaker: It drives me insane. um But yeah, just has it going. I mean, you're right. You're right. yeah It'll be a little disaster zone and people stand up from that disaster zone and do the Gen Z stare at the employees standing, waiting for everyone to leave so they can clean.

Speaker: And they're just like, oh, hi. And then they leave. Yeah.

Speaker: it is yeah it's a thing it's a thing um but yeah that that really pisses me off um also one little thing like a kernel goes down the side of the seat same same if i like the straw wrapper like like the straw wrapper like I normally like I wrap it up and like I'll put it in the little c cup holder until I leave and then dump it. If I leave that there, I'm like, oh, crap, I left that behind. Like, right. And that was nothing.

Speaker: You have people leaving like their entire like concession meal. Like, ahhuh ah it's it's ridiculous. But the other thing I was going to complain about, I don't get how people want to choose seats directly next to you if the the auditorium is 90 percent empty.

Speaker: i want I went to go watch, um which movie was it at? I think we we saw Hoppers. And um it was, we were in a group of three and it was like probably the biggest auditorium, but we went to a like a pretty early like showing. So nobody was really there except for one other, like this couple that was directly next to us.

Speaker: Like, it's like you have like so many seats around here. Yeah, it's like there's so many seats here. That is wild. And you chose to pick the, not only did you like not leave a gap, but you're directly next to us. Like, what are you doing Leave now the gap.

Speaker: Yeah, no, I mean, best believe you, like I got up and I'm like, I'm moving down a couple of seats, right? You created the gap, eh. I don't care. don't care if that looks rude, but dude, the entire place empty.

Speaker: And you chose to sit right next to us. Like, that's kind of weird. I would say something to them, honestly. like But it's apparently it's a thing. like i like Like, you know how like TikTok, like, you know, like your little FBI agent listens to your conversations and stuff. And all my like TikToks have been about, like um like, movie theaters and stuff. And it's a thing. Like, people like to choose seats directly next to other people. And I get it if it's a sold-out show. What? Not this girl. all I want to be as far away from another human as I possibly can. It's like going into the men's urinal when there's six of them, one guy, and then you go next to him. What's wrong with you? yeah like that that Exactly. It's just like that. like Why are you standing right next to me? like that I go to the opposite side in that situation. yeah That's the rule. You skip a urinal in this case. At least skip one fucking seat. like What are you doing right next to me? Yeah.

Speaker: This episode is rated PG-13. It really pissed me off. I get they want to be in the middle, but at least choose one row lower higher. Exactly. I totally get it. If you prefer the view from that row, that's cool. But don't sit directly next to the people that are there when the rest of the auditorium is empty.

Speaker: ah it's just it's It's just weird. i don't know. But yeah, that's my little rant. Try being a single person at a full movie theater and those AMCs have the little couple seats. Oh, yeah. For Project Hail Mary, I had one that was, you know, open at the time, but then later the whole row sold out. And so this couple comes in and looks at their seat numbers and they're like across two of the different ones. And so is sitting next to me and the girl's on the other side. I just like, oh, you guys messed up. You can see in the picture that they're separate. Yeah, you can see. It's very obvious. Did you not realize? Yeah.

Speaker: But yeah, um yeah i that just really pissed me off. Now that I've been going a lot, I've been noticing all of that. But on to the thrills. We don't have many park reports, but Kelly, you have some updates.

Speaker: Yes. um Thrills, Chills and Spills was invited... I'm just kidding. i love that you said that. I was thinking in my head, I'm like, really? No way. I'm just kidding. um The Drunk Riders was invited to a media event at Six Flags Great Adventure. i was a plus one um Although our good friend, Ryan Eldridge, I think he would invite me, just me anyways, because we're actually real life friends. He's so great. um We...

Speaker: They were having a media event um that included a construction tour of what they're calling Project Purple, their new 2027 roller coaster that has gone vertical. um So we got to the park at Open and they took us and some other coaster influencers on a little tour of the construction area. They were actually actively working like further down on the ride. We kind of went where um, the, like what will be the station and the initial like launch LSMs that you can see, and then got to go up to just like the very beginning of what is the, um, stall, um, which has a lot of LSMs on it also. um

Speaker: it is looking great. We love a purple coaster. There aren't enough purple and pink coasters in my opinion. It looks nice and bright. Um, It um isn't that far along. We didn't get that much information about it other than and they're calling it Project Purple for now. And the stall is much higher off the ground than it looks in pictures. It looks almost like Kaa's return little air hill. It looks pretty tall.

Speaker: It is pretty tall. it um It definitely will run the same profile as Ka, but it's not in the same location. It's like closer to where Green Lantern's plot was. It starts back there, like closer to the parking lot, and will run out. We don't know how far yet, obviously, but...

Speaker: Um, it, it looks good so far. i love a certain manufacturer's track and I love to see it. So, um, that was exciting. They also had a teeny tiny little piece of, um, the spinning coaster that's going to be put into their new, um, boardwalk re-imagined boardwalk that's supposed to be opening, They're saying spring of 26, which is now, but like a lot has to be done because clearly nothing is happening yet. So I think they're aiming toward the end of spring, which technically is June. um But I saw the little piece of the spinning coaster.

Speaker: that came from another place and got repainted. But it looks pretty um and blue. And um they talked a little bit more about um just reimagining that area on the tour, which was cool to hear. And I think the park desperately needs it. Like that area of the park just feels like if you're walking towards Superman, just feels really kind of dead. So I think having some new, bright, revitalized,

Speaker: space with like the boardwalk theme will look really good. um I would say overall, like I wasn't super excited to go to great adventure. i haven't been yet this year. Obviously it's been open for a couple of weeks, but I was really pleasantly surprised at the work they've done during the off season. There's a lot of fresh paint on some of the storefronts in the entry area and around the park. Um, so it looks really fresh and clean and bright. um Not nitro. That thing doesn't, but everything else does. um

Speaker: What did we do? el Toro is so smooth, you guys. i was shook. The whole retrack isn't even done yet. Just phase one has been completed. And it is rewritable. Like even in a wheel seat, I was... and Now how long that lasts, I don't know. But like it was why old um What else? We checked out. We got a little meal voucher with our ticket to the park. We also got Fastlane for like the ticket. We got the ticket to the park, which is great because I don't have a pass yet. We got Fastlane. We got a meal voucher at um

Speaker: Now I'm not going to remember the name. It's like right on Main Street. You go down. It's like on the left hand side, but something tavern. I think um it was good. I had fish and i what was my side?

Speaker: Like kind of like a ah battered cauliflower, like a fried cauliflower. it was good. um What else did I ride? Skull Mountain.

Speaker: It was not dark in there. So that was the thing. and also rode Nitro and it wasn't very good, unfortunately.

Speaker: But Toro rode that a couple of times. Does he have brand new trains? I don't know what's happening with it. I don't know. It's not very good anymore. need some paint and some love. and Was the waterfall on Skull Mountain?

Speaker: Of course not. Also, the chin was not on. If you've seen the photos, half of the face is missing. um So that's why it's so like bright in there. I think is there's a lot more light getting in. um Also at Great Adventure. So Park looks great. Like I think they're doing a lot of work. It's coming around. I'm obviously not going to say all of this is Ryan doing his job, but Dorney Park was elevated when Ryan was there and he still is there. And I know he's doing a lot of hard work and the team that's in place. There's been some turnover and it seems like we're headed in the right direction finally at Great Adventure. So that's exciting stuff. You guys, am I late to the party? Have you ever had cut water? Yeah. Yes. yes's I'm late to the party. They're pretty good. Well, they're really good. I had Mai Tai. Yeah.

Speaker: yeah off those I had one of them and I was like, I need to stop now. Wait, what ah what's the rum so hard? Like a Mai Tai? i There's different ones, but I had ah the Mai Tai one. Mai Tai, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, I tried a margarine. Yeah, the margarita one I heard is very salty and not super sweet. So I don't think I would like that. um And I'm not a tequila person, but woo the Mai Tai was good. It tasted like juice and I drank it way too fast. Those things are dangerous. yeah But that's good. if yeah That's good.

Speaker: You know, if you're trying to save money, just one. That's all it took. Yeah, that's a good option for parks have. That was my day at Great Adventure. And I actually stayed. we I really thought we were going to go do the tour, ride Toro and leave. But we ended up hanging out with some other people that were there. And it was really fun.

Speaker: So. That's good. We're on the up and up over there. 27 is going to be a big year for them with brand new Toro and a brand new ride and a whole new boardwalk section. think that's going to be good. That'll be the time to go.

Speaker: i saw' had And we will. Our club will go. Oh, for sure. For sure. for sure Yeah. All right. And to Begonia, which we've all watched, right, Joey? I think you were the last one to watch it. I watched it last night. All think I was like, oh, my God, what if you didn't watch it? We're talking about it anyways.

Speaker: All right. So, yes, we all recently watched Begonia. Well, but I haven't watched it in a while, but I did watch it like twice when it came out. um Great movie. um But yeah, for those who don't know, this is a movie and I'll read you the quick little description. It's about two men that kidnap a powerful CEO because they suspect that she's an alien and they want to save the earth from her planned destruction.

Speaker: um it The summary is just as wild as the movie is. It's definitely a wild one. ah But what what do you guys think about this movie? Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert. If you haven't seen it, I guess. Spoiler alert. haven't watched it yet. Spoiler alert. I haven't spoiled anything yet. please Please click away. Please pause. Jump ahead. because don't do this spoiler, you got to watch the movie. You got to write it. He is an alien. an alien.

Speaker: So if you're still listening, you either watched or you didn't care. so Yeah. Yeah. hope you click heck Okay. So you guys didn't have that. you guys didn't think that she was an alien Yeah, of course. Like during it, you're like, okay, like, like, okay, she could be an alien, but they definitely set it up the whole movie until closer to the end that like these conspiracy theorists are nut jobs here. And like, she's just trying to play along and do whatever she can to get out of this crazy situation.

Speaker: Yeah. it was i mean little There were little hints where like you could tell that she was getting a little defensive over like what they were saying about the aliens and all that. And she was just like... I don't know.

Speaker: They played it both ways. like They played it both ways on purpose. because like you know yeah it Towards the end of the film, like you know he he comes back and she's asking questions like, how many of them were aliens that he's...

Speaker: done weird yeah stuff too um and in that moment you're like oh she is an alien but then like you're like well she did just find his whole thing and have all of his notes and everything and so she could have just read up to try to use that as a way to get out of there and then later like she's using a calculator to open like teleport to mars or whatever yeah you're like okay this is this is some yeah you know yeah So I think they did a good job of like making you question because I think, you know, when this first came out, it was a while ago. I think I got spoiled on the fact that she was an alien, but I had like, it was kind of in the back of my brain watching this. And so even at the end, i still had doubts. I was like, wait, is that what I had heard that?

Speaker: She's she is going to be one at the end of this. So I wasn't really sure what exactly was going to happen. um And they don't really set it up that she's going to go back necessarily. Like you just see a explosion and you're like, OK, that's the end of that. But there's more. do you what point were you guys like fully sure she was an alien? For me, it was when she like jumped out the ambulance. I'm like, OK, this this is going that way. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: I don't think it ring I was ever fully sure. Like, I was pretty sure, but I wasn't 100% until she actually went to her planet. i think it was like the electric... When she was getting like... but The electrodes and stuff.

Speaker: yeah oh that was pretty early. Yeah, and that was early on, and I was like... I was like, she she's taking this a little too well. like I feel like she should be gone by now. like I don't know if this would have been okay. like Yeah, I had that thought too. That's what kind of like. But then I also, when I went into this movie, I was kind of like, I kind of went in thinking like, like cause this going to be one of those movies where like they're actually right?

Speaker: And I think I kept having that thought going into the movie. And then when I saw it, I'm like, oh shit. I was like, okay, that is the case. But... um But yeah, I kind of thought it was, i don't know. I was kind of going both both ways with it with it. I wasn't too sure.

Speaker: I wasn't really thinking it at all that early. Like, I just thought she was in like full survival, self-preseration yeah self-preservation mode and was just like trying to live and saying whatever she had to say. Psycho wouldn't kill her, basically.

Speaker: Yeah. Should we give a little bit more background? I mean, I don't know if people are listening to this, have seen it. At this point, I guess they should have if they care. Yeah. air We gave the spoiler alert, so.

Speaker: Yeah. But what's interesting about this movie is that the the main cast is pretty much just four people carry the whole movie. And really only three if you if you don't count... um the police officer but Emma Stone is the main character she plays Michelle Fuller she's a CEO of a pharmaceutical company and she's the one who gets kidnapped and then Jesse Plemons she was kind giving like Devil Wears Prada vibes at the beginning she was definitely kind of out of touch CEO like very powerful and trying to pretend like they're blasé but you know not really like yeah it was interesting yeah it was she did a good job

Speaker: ah she did a good job in general we can talk about that but jesse plemons plays teddy gatz he's like the main antagonist like the conspiracy theorist he has done all of this research and he believes her to be an alien and he has this plan of how he's going to kidnap her um he also on the side like keeps bees which kind of is like a side story that plays in later his Autistic cousin um is played by Aiden Delbiss. His name is Don. He works with him to help kidnap Michelle. And then, um, there's like some ancillary characters. There's a police officer, um, named Casey, who used to be Teddy's babysitter and now um is a deputy sheriff. And then um they also briefly show in a couple of scenes, Teddy's mom, who is ill, I guess we could say. Yeah.

Speaker: yeah the ah The autistic guy, I did not realize until afterwards that that wasn't an act and he was actually on the spectrum. I mean, yeah that was real. He was so talented and I watched interviews. He so good. Yeah. And I watched interviews with him afterwards. I was like, oh, like he really like that's really him. And I did not know that. Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, like you mean he's like actually an autistic actor. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Oh, yeah. really autistic I didn't know that. I thought he was. i feel like I clocked it. It was so accurate. I was like, this is, yeah you know what i mean? And I think that the film industry is trying to do that.

Speaker: Like if you're going to represent somebody, then let them let somebody who knows what it is do it. You know what i mean? Yeah. Yeah. um So that was pretty cool. That's a great example of that because he did great. Like he was he was great at the entire movie.

Speaker: Yeah, so they they end up kidnapping her very all early on in the movie. And it's almost like comedic. a lot of the A lot of the... There's a very like... It's like a comedy, but it's also like a thriller. It's like a very like back and forth between... like It's funny what they're doing, but it's actually like kind of scary. They kidnap her. They put her in the basement of their... like hoarder hoarder level house which is disgusting and they do all these crazy things they shave her hair which by the way emma stone shaved her hair in real life for this movie in one take which is wild you could tell um yeah i was watching that scene like oh this is happening Yeah, like this is so legit.

Speaker: They cover her body in like antihistamine lotion. They do all this crazy stuff when they kidnap her to make you think as of as a viewer, these people are way off the deep end. They say that her hair is being shaved because that's how she can communicate with her her people. And they put antihistamine on her because um that also helps them not like find where she is. And just this stuff that just makes zero sense, but ends up being true later when you find out that she's really an alien.

Speaker: um And then they torture her for a little while. they They do that scene with the electric shock where she withstands more than they expect. And then all of a sudden he's like, oh, like she's a high ranking person in the Andromedan tribe. So we're going to let her like up into the house. We're going to like unshackle her and she can eat a meal with us. And then they end up fighting about what they believe. And you're kind of going back and forth. Like, why is she have like, is she an alien? And then, yeah um,

Speaker: The deputy Casey arrives to like, he's like on a search for this missing CEO as the rest of, you know, the world is outside. And um you kind of learn that in the past, he molested Teddy when he babysat him. um He gets taken care of real quick on a side story where Teddy takes him out to the bees and he's a goner there.

Speaker: um They all like sting him. And then he pretty much gets bludgeoned with whatever Teddy was holding. Like a shot um shot. Yeah. Not good. um But I think during that is it during that dinner, you learn a little bit more about Teddy's mom and how she was um part of a like clinical trial for Michelle's company. She took a medication that the company made and it left her in like a comatose state. And that's kind of where she's at and why teddy's some of his rage comes from and why he thinks that Michelle is an alien and they're trying to

Speaker: you know, take over earth or ruin earth or whatever. So you have that going on. um And then is ah Don takes Michelle into the basement and she's trying to convince him that she is an alien and she'll take him to space. Cause that's all he wants. That part shocked me. That scene. Yeah.

Speaker: And I'm sorry if I ruined it for you, Tyler, because I was covering my face because I knew was coming. was like, oh, no, it's kind happening. But he, is spoiler alert, shoots himself in the head. was wild. Yeah, I feel like that's where, like, it really turns up and you're like, oh, my God. like Yeah, you're like, oh, what is going to happen from here?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. So then Teddy comes down. He's real mad. She's like, what do I do to like, I didn't do it. I didn't do it. He did it himself. So she says that she has an antidote to save his mom, but it's really, oh God. It's like such this this thing oh crazy. She's like, it's in my car in antifreeze bottle, but it's not antifreeze. It's an antidote to the medicine that we gave your mom. You can save her.

Speaker: So he's Jesse Plemons character is furiously riding his bike to like the hospital or home that his mom is at. He's sweating. He's running in there with antifreeze. Guess what? It's actually antifreeze. He kills his f freaking mom because he injects it into her IV. Yeah.

Speaker: Wild. Wild. And then when he realizes he killed her, this is his peak acting moment in this movie when yeah he is riding his bike back to the house and his face shows every emotion of like, I'm pissed. I can't believe I'm sad. I can't believe this happens. Like he, he was gypped from not winning awards this award season. Yeah. was going to mention that. but Like how did they not nominate him for anything? Like wild. It was incredible.

Speaker: He carried the movie, honestly. Yeah. Like it was wild. But anyways, he gets back. He is real freaking bad. And she's like, OK, OK. During while he's gone is when she discovers the the other people. Right. Like she she discovers a room in his basement where he's done all this research on the Andromedans. And there's like. dead people body parts in there and she's like what the hell this guy is like killing people thinking they're aliens he comes back she's like okay i'm an alien like you can you can come you know the lunar eclipse is coming you can come talk to my people that's what he wanted this whole time and she's like we can teleport to my ship but you have to come to my office so at this point you're like this is crazy they go to his office she walks in there like she hasn't been missing for weeks or days or whatever it's been all over the literally limping because he like with a wig right and all the people are just like get the sense that like the the way they set it up at the beginning the way that people were like scared of her makes you realize why they didn't do anything because if you saw your like if you cared about your boss and they walked into work like that with this weird looking guy limping you'd be like uh we're calling the authorities right now yeah nothing happens she makes into her office and they're all just like peering around the corner

Speaker: Like, oh, I guess she's back. But yeah, she's trying to teleport him to her spaceship by using a calculator to enter a code. And then he has walk into her closet and then off he goes. And you're thinking this is some bad shit, crazy behavior that he's believing. um You learn that he has a suicide vest on and it malfunctions and he blows up and his head smacks Michelle in the head and she's like knocked unconscious. She wakes up in an ambulance. like does this sound like a real movie or does it sound like it sounds ridiculous because it's wild and it feels that way when you're watching it she jumps out the ambulance she's like i'm fine i'm fine she's limping back to her office and before you know it she's walking into her closet and ends up on her ship of andromedans and then they're like the experiment has failed she pops a little bubble and all the humans on earth die

Speaker: That last scene is ah wild. It is wild. Just in case you were concerned, the animals survive. Just the humans die. Yeah. Only humans. And the amount, like, it almost was, that was definitely like a dark comedy moment because some of the positions that they put these dead people in are just ridiculous. And there's kids. That really bothers me. Five minutes on it. Just like shot, shot, yeah shot. Like so many different ones. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: ah Yeah. yeah It definitely had a lot of different themes going on in it. Like the whole, yeah the, the B it starts out talking about the bees and, you know, like declining population and like the, the pollination issues and all of that stuff. And you kind of take that to be like a environmental critique on humanity, like destroying the planet. But then also there's like this class struggle element to it that you see where, you know, Teddy is like,

Speaker: this this lower, like he's he works at the company, like packaging stuff. He's at the like the lowest possible level. And you know the company has you know hurt his mom and he feels that they're controlling everything and he has no power. That's like a big thing about it too, is that he wants, he feels that the aliens are like controlling the whole planet and all of humanity and he wants them to stop and leave basically.

Speaker: um And so there's that element to it. And then ah just like a dark comedy absurdness as well. It's it's interesting. Did you guys notice, like obviously this they position Teddy as a conspiracy theorist. They also showed in a couple split scenes the Earth as being flat.

Speaker: Oh yeah. It was in like the um in the title cards. Yes. As you were counting down the days to the lunar eclipse, it starts out as a globe and then the Earth starts to flatten. It gets flatter and flatter. And then you see that flat Earth model in the alien ship and you're like, oh. Yeah. it's wild Kyrie where are you at do you listen to it it's flat it's flat with a bubble but I thought i thought it was well acted by the small cast I was especially like I said impressed by Jesse Plemons I thought he did a great job and I haven't really seen him in a role like this before yeah no he's has anybody seen Black Mirror

Speaker: yes Okay, so he was in the USS Callister episode of Black Mirror. It's kind of like this Star Trek spoof, and he's like the commander, I guess, of the ship. think I think I did see that. Oh, Tyler, is this a show you had me watch?

Speaker: Yeah, you watched the i didn't see that one. yeah Yeah, we didn't watch that one. he I've seen it years ago, though. It's not quite the same. like He's not quite as crazy, but he definitely is a weird character in that episode, too. So i was like this like, tracks for at least what I saw him doing in that show. This was worse. like This was a whole other level. But like he he has done that kind of like, at first you think he's okay, and then later you're like, oh boy, this is not good. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, i think I think the cast was great. um it There weren't many people, but it was a great set of actors. And i feel like they kept you... like ah They had me anxious the entire time, like, waiting, like, for what's going to happen next. Like, I had no idea where the story was going.

Speaker: yeah, no, I feel like it was it was a great cast. And the movie looked very good, too. Like, the like the cinematography and, like, even the sound. Like, when he's, like, biking over to the hospital, like, very intense scene with the music. Yeah, the the score yeah was throwing me off at first. Because it is...

Speaker: It's so dramatic. It's so good. I started to interpret the score almost as like, cause Teddy felt like he was on such a mission to save the world. It was like his internal score. Like he's taking himself so seriously that I was like, Oh, this is like his like mute. This is his version of like what's happening. And,

Speaker: that's kind of driving him because it's just like so grand and wild at times that you're like this this is so and i think that like tonally helps with the kind of absurdity of it all because you're just yeah like what what is this like massive orchestral score like doing while what what is happening like there's just a shot of a car and you're like okay yeah yeah yeah that was that was a wild score but it it was so good though It definitely is very ah ah stylistic choice for sure.

Speaker: like right And what added to it is that none of the characters were likable. Like each character you just didn't want to like, but they were just so captivating in what they gave you.

Speaker: And then I also love that just even in the funniest parts, the atmosphere of the movie was still just so dark. You like didn't even want to laugh out loud. Like it didn't even feel like that was allowed in this movie, even though it was funny, just because it was just such a weird atmosphere that they created.

Speaker: yeah i Yeah. I didn't laugh out loud. I was just smirking. ah yeah Especially like some of the gore. I was like, okay. Yeah. ah Like when his head flew off and hit her, I'm like, yeah, that was ridiculous. Yeah.

Speaker: I was like, this is giving like B movie horror stuff on purpose. yeah I know that's why they did it. And so I was like, that's funny, but like, you know, Yeah. I learned that this is a remake of a South Korean film that came out two years ago um called Save the Green Planet, which would be interesting to see. i think know how similar it is. But I loved it.

Speaker: didn't even know that. But yeah, no, I i loved it. i thought it was a good time. Definitely a fun, twisted little movie. But yeah, I enjoyed it. Yeah, when it first came out, I just remember hearing like that it was weird. And so I was like, huh, interesting. And now having watched it, I understand like why people said that it's not a normal movie. Yeah, it's different in a good way.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. Like I can see why some people would probably come away being turned off by it all because it's it's a lot. But it's honestly like I started watching it because I needed to and I was tired and I was like, I don't know if I'm going to make it through the whole thing tonight. And then I just like got wrapped into it and I was like, okay, what's going to happen? What's going to happen?

Speaker: Yeah. I feel like when I watched it the first time, I didn't realize how much I liked it, but then I found myself like thinking about it after the fact and I was like, oh, that was really good. Like I want to watch it again. so yeah.

Speaker: What did you think of the the scenes with the mom where she's like floating? I'm glad you brought that up. I didn't know how to interpret that. And Tyler and I were actually looking it up. went Because i I had hoped that maybe when I saw it the second time, there was something I missed that I just didn't really put together. But we had to look it up afterwards because it just seems kind of...

Speaker: Out of place, that one scene. Well, it her in the bathtub and her like being suspended in midair. like i don't What did we find? I still don't know that it makes sense. It was supposed to just be like representative of her.

Speaker: yeah the internet really didn't know either. like I went through all the Reddit threads and nobody like seemed to have a good explanation for it. Yeah, I have no idea. could It seems like she had a drug addiction, right? Yeah.

Speaker: seemed to be like the reason that she was in a trial that was implied. I thought, I think so that like, this was supposed to be some kind of way to help her out of that addiction. But then she ended up in a coma. So I kind of like, I mean, she was like, had all of these syringes sticking out of her. So I kind of took that as like,

Speaker: the drug trial itself and like how many times they might've used syringes on her or whatever. But the floating that part, I wasn't quite sure. wasn't sure if that was like them, like showing like her, she was like in control of the aliens or something. I don't know. Like, yeah, I had no idea what to think of that.

Speaker: Yeah. I'm wondering if that was just their way of showing that this wasn't like a real flashback and just, you know, part of imagination or whatever. Right. You're kind of like getting his,

Speaker: twisted version of what happened yeah yeah and that lends itself to your being like oh he's he's not right like he's out there because you're yeah seeing that through his eyes and he's like imagining that and you're like what the heck right i still can't believe he got the antifreeze i was like no what is he doing what is he doing and i knew she was full of shit was like no yeah that's so bad But the title... what's wild is she doesn't escape during that. She gets herself loose but goes into that back room and is, like, exploring the dead parts. And that kind of made me really think, like, is she an alien at that point, too? Because it's like, get out, girl. Yeah, like, if it were truly survival mode, like, she would have been running out of there. But, like, she wanted like, see what exactly... Like, he she probably thought, like, okay, he knows way too much. I need to see what he's got going on over here.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. um The title Bugonia means um an ancient mythological practice believed to generate honeybees from the rotting carcass of a sacrificed ox.

Speaker: That's pretty, pretty accurate, I would say. Seems on brand. Yeah. Yeah. I guess, do you think that like, I don't know, I was curious what the creators kind of wanted the takeaway to be at the end of it because, you know, like Teddy kind of has his message that like, you know, we're, we're all being controlled and like that the ruling class has so much power, but then you kind of find out later that the aliens were actually like trying to correct a mistake

Speaker: that they made in like creating humanity essentially and they were like experimenting to try to make it better and they couldn't so they gave up and just killed everyone like dang that is bleak but like feels unfortunately like accurate in these times I'm just like well I mean is it wrong that we're like super self-destructive I don't know yeah know I thought the main message was just that like life can just be over in an instant and it's so much bigger than just individual human beings that it was especially shown when they when all the animals were still alive and then Earth was just thriving without the humans.

Speaker: Yeah, I could see that too. Yeah. I don't know. it's It's a wild time. But how do we want to rate this? So we have we're going to go with the thrills, chills and spills ratings.

Speaker: Yeah. So, okay, on the thrills, how are we going to rate that? One to ten. I'm going to give it an 8.5. Yeah, I was going to say eight, so yeah, I'm cool with an 8.5. 8.5, I like that, yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, sounds good. Yeah, then Chills. I mean, Chills, I'll definitely put that on the lower end. This isn't really... this i feel like this is more of a thriller. It's not really... like horror really just more in the dark the message is spooky but it's not scary to watch it yeah right yeah unless you don't like gore it's like a three for blood was gonna say three yeah two three is fine i think yeah for that then spills drama hell yeah that was drama

Speaker: 9.5 is wild. Yeah. good nine Yeah. cool. cool the nine. Cool. Yeah. But Brayden did ask um if we all guessed the ending correctly. And I think we all kind of answered that earlier, but I went into it kind of.

Speaker: thinking that it was very possible that she was an alien, but you know, there were many, they they did a very, they did a very good job making you go back and forth, you know, between both, you know, conclusions. The part that threw me was like, even if I was like expecting at any any point, it was like, okay, she's definitely an alien. The fact that he like accurately predicted what her ship looks like that I was not expecting by any means.

Speaker: it's like what yeah they were right about the ship and then they all had crazy long hair and they're like sorry i know reach you because we you didn't have hair i was like they were right about that too crazy yeah new that's awesome but um but onto the spec map the new Easter spec map that we got recently.

Speaker: um Kelly, did you want to go over that? You got your spreadsheet and everything. I got my spreadsheet. Yeah. Okay. Little behind the scenes. This came out on Easter. Joey posted it. And like 10 minutes later, Tyler's like making a joke about how I'm going to be updating my spreadsheet later. Well, guess what? I already did it. before did it immediately. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, so i I, this is a very colorful map compared to the previous ones, very Easter themed. um We'll just kind of go through, we'll start with the houses like we usually do. We'll go through what has changed, what's on this fact map now, what everybody's thinking, and then there's some new stuff with regards to um symbols for the scare zones on this map. up um But we'll just start.

Speaker: um So we'll start at um the entrance area and go clockwise. So starting with Soundstage 22, this is our house that we discussed last episode, already been named been named, and it looks like they're confirming the same location it's been in And that is the Jack versus Oddfellow house. um We already know that the symbol for this is balloon and um it's called chaos and control or chaos versus control in that location. I don't know that there's anything else to say about that.

Speaker: We kind of covered it last episode. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So 23A is the next one. And this is um the symbol is the same and in the same location from the um previous map, I believe. Yeah. The last version in February shows the burning book.

Speaker: um And this what's interesting about this map is it no longer has like an asterisk for the houses that are at both locations. Hollywood, obviously, you could tell if you compare the maps, um but I didn't include that on this anymore because I think they're kind of just going there their separate directions at this point as we get closer to the reveals of the houses. But this one is the same. And last time we talked about it, we discussed Evil Dead and Evil Dead Burn.

Speaker: Yeah. really know what else It's looking like it's going to be that. I have a feeling that's going to be it. That was also the one that they were sharing with Hollywood. So that would make sense. need to learn more about that because I really don't know anything.

Speaker: Like I really know nothing about that whole franchise. So, but yeah, you're probably just going watch like the newer ones. um I know there was one that came out like two years or three years ago.

Speaker: And then there's a new one coming out this year as well. So I'm sure it's going to be it's going to be inspired by those. Yeah. Yeah. i mean, it doesn't come out until July 24th, Evil Deadburn. Perfect timing.

Speaker: They'll announce it around that time. You would think, yeah. Yeah. I like and we'll talk about this later when you think about those five sound stages kind of clustered in that area. I like that it's um a mix and they always do this, a mix of IPs and original houses. I think that helps distribute the crowds a little bit. Yeah.

Speaker: But this next one twenty three b this is where we can get a little bit sad, the Gaga fans. So I'm assuming that this over previously in the new tent area, the last spec map had the dancing skeletons when one had long like blonde hair and we were all speculating it would be Gaga and would be a music house.

Speaker: Well, there's been some rumors since then that it is no longer her. And I think this symbol, we're back to having like a rocker hand symbol. um But over here in a soundstage now, I think this is probably the music house if there is a music house happening and there's a lot of... rumor that it's going to be based on Ozzy Osbourne. We had talked about that previously with earlier iterations of the spec map, and a lot of people are saying that they're going to do it kind of in the same um tone as they did Wyatt Six um since Ozzy passed away, which I think that house was really successful in hitting that group of people that were wwe WWE fans and people that weren't, but I think there's probably a similar cult following for people who are Aussie fans and the intersection between those people and people that like horror in general might even be more prominent than w wwe and horror fans. um

Speaker: Yeah. What do you guys think about this? i am unsure of that. I did hear about that rumor. um i think I'm just unsure because...

Speaker: I don't know. isn't Isn't like the family, aren't they like still mourning? Like, I don't know. I just, I feel like this feels a little too soon. Like I could see them doing an Aussie house later on. i feel like this is definitely a little too soon, but I don't know. I could be wrong, but it just, it feels like this would be too soon from the events of his passing to do this. I could see them doing it later on, but I don't know about this year. Yeah. It could also very well be just like an original rock yeah right that it might not even It might not even be Ozzy Osbourne. It's such a generic symbol. like yeah It could be anything. It could be the... um I mean, that would be an original one, though. ah the The rocker theme in Slaughter Cinema.

Speaker: Yeah, we had talked to about that earlier. yeah i mean, to be fair, Rafa, whether it's too soon or not, people probably didn't think Ozzy was going to live like 30 years ago with his last name. So...

Speaker: I just feel like from like a licensing and like from like just like the events happening like less than a year ago. Yeah. July of last year. That does seem a little quick. I agree. Yeah. Like, and normally they plan these houses like so early on that, like, I don't know. I just, I don't know.

Speaker: I'd be surprised if it were, i mean, I feel like it would still be a very cool idea, especially with how well the Wyatt six house turned out last year. Right. Yeah. But, but yeah, I don't know. i'm I'm not sure. It's interesting to hear though. Yeah.

Speaker: Codename for this house is bus. Only thing I thought of if it's like a music house is like a tour bus. Yeah. That does make sense. Yeah.

Speaker: All right. So moving on to 23B. no that was B. to twenty four a um we have on the map, um this symbol is the same as prior, but that it used to be in one of the old smaller tents. Now it's over here at the sound stages. This is where like the um makeup is.

Speaker: And like biohazard symbol and scissors. We talked about a body horror original last time. This is the same symbol, just change locations, um which is interesting because I kind of felt like if we're on the right track for that, that it would have been a good tent house. But um I still like the idea. the um the code name for this house is Chariot.

Speaker: Hmm. Yeah, I don't know on Nothing's coming up for me there, but... Possible that's not the final occasion, too. Totally. Yeah. um I did hear... I mean, a lot of people have been rumoring that this is... They've been talking about how it might be... It might have to do with... I think there was like a vanity zone a couple of years ago. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. So people have been talking about that potentially being what this is for. Okay. But I don't know enough of that. But then they're also saying that somewhere... I mean, I can't... should probably zoom in here. But they were also saying that on the...

Speaker: The lipstick, the biohazard symbol. Oh, the lipstick, that little symbol. They were talking about... Was it BuzzCon from the Bugs one? And they love tying BuzzCon in because wasn't that what was the company that was responsible for the Toxic 20s Scare Zone 2? think so, yeah. was.

Speaker: Yeah, interesting. So that should be interesting. I mean, I do love when they have original houses in the sound stages. I feel like sometimes... They put all the IPs in the sound stages and they don't really need to be there. i mean, it does. It is great for some, but I don't think they all need to be there. i think it's pretty cool when they put the the original ones in there.

Speaker: What's next to the lipstick? Is that like a makeup palette? On the right? Yeah, on the right. a mirror. Yeah, I think it's just supposed to be like a mirror with, yeah, palette. It looked like a Nintendo 64 to me. Yeah. yes I thought the same exact thing when i first saw it But next to it, to the right of that is like an eyeshadow apple applicator.

Speaker: So that's what makes me think it's like eyeshadow or something like that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. um Over 24. Oh, that was 24B. put them backwards, I guess. So I lied about that being chariot.

Speaker: That is actually train. no still who knows yeah train well just as confusing yeah anyways um over here we have the ever moving upside down clock in twenty four a so we're thinking still that stranger things that's chariot which makes even less sense i think yeah yeah but that one seems to be a shoe in like i don't think that's gonna change i think that's definitely gonna be stranger things yeah

Speaker: Fast and Furious location, we still have the bloody intestines. Same as the last map. We had talked about HR blood and guts. I don't know what else it could possibly be. That's like exactly what the picture is. a prevailing yeah Yeah. um Going around to the tents over here. Interestingly now over tent three, we have the pin cushion, which has moved multiple locations. Um, But the code name Hearst makes a little bit more sense for Hellraiser, I think, right?

Speaker: Maybe. Sure. Yes. Yeah. And these are the Big Ten. So, I mean, IPs seem to work in there. It is interesting that they have two IPs on this map in that those tents, though, because those lines get pretty, pretty packed.

Speaker: I mean, I could see Hearst tying to the to like the makeup, like body manipulation thing, too. It's like, what if they're delivering dead bodies and doing weird things? Who knows? Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. I could see those two flipping, basically. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. um Tent four remains the lighter cigarettes that we suspect will be sinners.

Speaker: And then over... And that makes sense. Tractor being the code name there. We talked about that last time. Over in tent one... We now have, and this makes sense, in tent one, we have the alien with the cowboy hat that has moved from, oh no, I guess that, oh no, eventual or originally it was in tent two, but tent one's code name is Shuttle. So now this is all coming together here. Shuttles, aliens. Space, sure, yeah. Space.

Speaker: I don't know what it is. it's Some sort of original, I'm assuming. Yeah. And then over intent two, we now have and this is like a totally it's ah the theme has been consistent, but it's definitely a new um depiction of what this is. So it is basically what I think is an animal torturing like a human in a cage.

Speaker: it looks like a bear to me. Yeah. Or a lion. I don't know. Watching a human being. I don't know. We've had the scowling wolf.

Speaker: Yes, there was a paw print. Now there's a paw print on this cage. We had like the scowling wolf before that. So there's definitely something going on with animals. For sure. Kind of like the idea of a backwards zoo is kind of interesting. Yeah. Yeah. That's the vibe I'm getting from that little symbol.

Speaker: And being in a tent. not That would be sick. That would be really cool. That would be a yeah a unique original. That'd be fun. Yeah. So those are the houses. um We have two shows on here. We have one being the Lagoon show and it looks like there's fountains, which probably says it's the Lagoon show. And then the other one, which is in the Nightmare Fuel previous location, shows four boxes. Yep.

Speaker: I know what it is. Jack. Have you seen a horror night nightmares? One of their more recent tweets? No, no, no. there is a sketch from 2007 HHN.

Speaker: And if you, those boxes are the same from that sketch. And it says J a C K. And it's a sketch of a stage that says Jack's back. And it's got like a guillotine and posters and like a carnival look to it.

Speaker: So that is definitely suggesting that this is going to be a Jack dog show. Yeah. I don't like it. i like nightmare fuel I'm sad about that. Not gonna lie it Yeah. It's the exact same, even on the far left one with the little light that's dangling in the right corner. It's literally taken from that sketch.

Speaker: Yep. So, I mean, obviously, Horror Night Nightmares knew about this sketch and extracted this purposefully and then later posted this full graphic to kind of tie it together. Because when I first saw the boxes, I was so confused. I was like, what is that supposed to be? Yeah.

Speaker: And that was just tweeted today, too. That's pretty new info. Correct. Yeah. I don't think that's not an outreach yet. You heard it here first. thrust track yeah like you like they The park knows that the high energy, like choreo slash acrobatics has been super popular. So I have to wonder if they can still find a way to incorporate that aspect in into a Jack show. I think there would be a way to do that.

Speaker: I mean, it's not that hard to just keep the core like facets of nightmare fuel and just make Jack the host instead. Like, right. I think it's a very similar show. Just Jack is going to be the host and there's going to be more torture, basically.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. So now exciting. We have symbols for the scare zones. We still have um symbols of a roller skate at Mel's, a DJ headset in San Francisco and a chainsaw symbol over by like the corner by men in black where it was last year. um But the scare zones, we have four.

Speaker: symbols The first one in the entrance scare zone is like a big top tent, which makes sense if we're having this be a Jack versus Oddfellow thing. It's probably going to be Carnival-esque right there in the front, which I think will be good. That sounds promising.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, that makes complete sense. That's what you would expect. Then in New York, we have a very colorful looking clown. Interesting. Interesting.

Speaker: I hope it's not overdone. it looks it looks like, I don't know if you guys had seen um any of like the construction for Hollywood. It's looking like one of the houses, like the props are coming in for one of the houses and it looks very similar to like what they had for killer clowns of outer space.

Speaker: So I don't know if that's going to be this here. I'm not sure. I kind of hope it's just tied into the like overall lore of the event. Yeah. like We talked about last time that there could be like zones that are kind of Jack-ish and zones that are Oddfellow-ish. And this obviously could go along with Jack.

Speaker: um Yeah. It could even just be as generic as like Jack's minions took over. Right. like Yeah. Just something basic like that.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I just hope that there's a lot of like, they're like evenly like showing off odd Dr. Oddfellow just as much as Jack. I hope it's just not the Jack show with Oddfellow just really being in the house and then maybe, you know, in the anniversary like zones and stuff like that.

Speaker: um Over in Central Park, they have a banana, um like a peeled banana, which follow me. And I know you guys ah think I'm going to talk about Wicked, but I'm not.

Speaker: I asked in our chat, what is this? And Joey's like, monkeys? um The year that we had Oddfellow, we had um the Jungle of Doom.

Speaker: and there were definitely some creatures like that. And we're having a house over there about animals. I'm like, is this going to be some sort of animal scare zone like that features Oddfellow if the other scare zone is featuring Jack? I'm here for it if that's the case. That's that's my hope. like that's That was... As I thought about it more, I was like, I could see the Oddfellow tie in like it's they're part of his like evil carnival and like he's harnessed their his evil spirit into like apes or I don't know, monkeys or something. And they've taken over the zone like that could work.

Speaker: But if not, and it is monkeys and they're flying, wicked confirmed. Yeah. The other thing I've seen is something about Fortnite, and I don't know what that's about. yeah I saw it too. Oh my God, yeah. What's going on with that? I guess Hollywood did some sort of like, i don't even know what you would call it, just like a pop-up thing with Fortnite mares few years ago. It wasn't part of HHN, I don't think, but just like...

Speaker: I don't know if it was in CityWalk or in the park or what, but yeah, Fortnite, obviously one of the largest video games of all time. It's for people younger than us, so I don't think any of us know anything about it, but um they do have monkey skins that you can play with in the the game. There's like some user-made map that has to do with bananas, like banana horror or something, so...

Speaker: Oh, God. really hope it's not that. That Five Nights crowd is going to be back. It's not like tenfold for sure. be yeah And they're going to be just jamming up that little narrow section of stairs. Yeah, I can't imagine even just from like a safety perspective, it doesn't make sense to do that in that zone.

Speaker: Yeah. It just doesn't. It would be too popular. anything, you put that over in New York. Right, right. Yeah. So I hope that's wrong. Every Yeah, hope that's wrong. I could see it just because that's sort of the demographic they've been catering to. it also just doesn't make any sense with the rest of the themes that we have going on so far. Exactly. Yeah.

Speaker: yeah Yeah. That would definitely change Central Park from being my typical favorite scare zone. Right? Yeah, definitely. And I feel, I mean, most of the time the scare zones are not IPs. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Like it would be weird to have such a big IP be a scare zone, right? Have they had an IP as a scare zone? I mean, they've like the Blumhouse thing, but that more like a meet and greet. Yeah, I don't really even count that. Yeah, that doesn't really count to me. I don't think this zone has ever done something like that. So it's going to be some kind of... Like you're saying for an IP house in that, like that zone?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, like an IP being used in a scare zone. Yeah, well, they okay well that the banana location, they... Just any location. what was that? Just any location. Have they used... any well it Well, yeah, but like that location had um Trick or a while ago, so they had that IP. Oh, yeah.

Speaker: And then Killer Clowns was also a zone once. Okay. Yeah, so. i mean, it's possible. It happens, but it's not super frequent. It's not a frequent thing. I don't know.

Speaker: I really hope it's that tie-in to Oddfellow. I really do, but. We'll see. And then the last scare zone up in Hollywood just has a 35 years symbol, which I guess is maybe some character. It can be some characters, the best of the last 35 years. Some of the other icons, maybe. be It'd be cool to like see the Usher or something.

Speaker: and Yes. yeah um or And it's probably going to also be an excuse for them to reuse costumes but from previous forure events. I get why they're doing it, but it feels a little lazy to me when there could be another way to celebrate the history of HHN.

Speaker: yeah elsewhere i don't know like put that in club like dead coconut club i don't know i don't know maybe we'll love it but i want some good hhn man and it probably will give some good hhn lore but yeah and i i kind of hope that like with that being like an anniversary zone like i just hope it's just not like a bunch of the past like like a home house situation walking around yeah like exactly like like kind of just walking around for photo ops and stuff like that like yeah Bring some characters with them. Like, bring some intensity. I feel like these zones are always meant to just be, like, the monumental one, I guess. Like, there's just not much to it. Like, it's just to show off. Like, it's more just, like, admire. Photo off. Like, the property, I guess. Or not the property, but, you know, the anniversary. But i don't know. I feel like they it tends to be the tamer one. I would like for them to be, like, a little more intense with it. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: you Well, we need to make our predictions probably soon, right? Yeah. When did we do that last year? I feel like it was about this time. No, we did it in February, much earlier. Oh.

Speaker: Well, we need to do that soon. One of them's already out. I made mine. I thought that ship has sailed. Well, last year we like shared them all and then we compared them later and everything.

Speaker: I know, but I think we did that before there were like repeats repeat symbols. It was only after the first spec map, so... Yeah. i don't know. I think too many of these are too clearly a certain thing.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, I guess we're getting pretty late into it. Yeah. But Brayden wants to know, how do we feel about Gaga not being on the spec map anymore? He says that he's devastated.

Speaker: i am also devastated. Yeah, sad face. I kind of feel like this is going to be... I think i feel like this is going to be like the scream of HHN, where like they keep...

Speaker: like speculating that it's going to come to HHN, but it's not. well yeah Because it would be such a good house. It would be. It would be such a good house. I just don't, I don't know. Like, I feel like everybody just wants it to happen really badly, but it's not actually going to happen.

Speaker: Which of sucks because it would be so good. But I don't know. Gaga would want like serious control and creative decision making over There's definitely like some contractual stuff that would be probably kind of a pain. But I mean, they work with a lot of IPs that are a pain. Probably. Yeah. Like I can't imagine that, you know, like ah Five Nights that probably had very specific criteria for all of their stuff and some of these other ones. So, you know. Yeah. The Weeknd had its house. I they worked with J.K. Rowling.

Speaker: Yeah. Right. I can make it work. Yeah. But it it does suck to hear that it's not a thing anymore. But who knows? we didn't It's not official official. So we'll see.

Speaker: But ah Simon asked, what rumored HHN IP do you think is most likely to get dropped last minute? And how would it be re-themed slash re-adapted?

Speaker: has that happened before o has it just dropped off the spec map i think wasn't there a billy eilish house that was supposed to go forward and they had to drop well yeah they had that set for the covet year and then they canceled the event and they didn't do it anymore and then um scream was actually a house i think for the last not the last anniversary. I think it was 25.

Speaker: Um, that was set for that. And then it was like a last minute change. I don't remember what the reason was, but they dropped that pretty last minute. Um, and I guess a lot of people noticed like set pieces that looked a little too like similar to like scream props, I guess.

Speaker: Um, But as far as this goes, I don't know. i feel like it would. They've been solid for a while. Stranger Things seems pretty solid. Hellraiser's been there forever. Sinners has been there forever.

Speaker: Maybe Evil Dead Burn, if anything. Maybe. Yeah. I think that would be the easiest to drop out of what we've got here. Yeah. Still probably kind of unlikely. Yeah. Yeah. That might not even be what it is, though. Who knows? Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: We could be wrong about all of this. We're thinking these like staples that are like set to come and they're probably not even that, but yeah, I don't even know what we would re theme it to be. I think evil dead would be the most likely to be dropped if, if that were to be the case.

Speaker: What else? And then last question. see Oh, wait, no Ricky also asked. Oh, he didn't say he just wasn't really a question. Yeah. Yeah. See Fred asks, do you favor large set houses or some of the smaller tent houses? Are there any houses that would benefit from expanding to a soundstage slash building over a tent and vice versa?

Speaker: And then he mentioned that he could see sinners in a tent that would be set as the end as the ending party with all the music slash dancing and vamps coming after you. And then Ricky added on saying that sinners is a tweak of Darkest Deal.

Speaker: It's not quite. No, they are more themes, but like, i I mean, it's totally different. Yeah, it's but easier for me to love tent houses than soundstage houses, because I think for me and I've said this a billion times, i scares are more important to me than anything else and i think the tents just are scarier vibes i appreciate the sets that can be done on a soundstage but i just tend to like tent houses more that being said one of my favorite houses ever was insidious and that was a soundstage but yeah overall i like the tents i think i think there isn't a huge difference between them because universal does such a good job of

Speaker: um making it feel the way that they want it to feel like they made the tent houses. Some of them are a little claustrophobic with, you know, tight turns and stuff, but then some of the sound stages are more grand and you're more focused on the large set. I don't know if I have a preference between the two. i think they both have their place.

Speaker: Yeah, it really depends on the execution for me. I'm not like, yeah oh, it's a tent. I'm excited. Oh, it's a soundstage. I'm excited. It's more about how did they make this work? um Because it it really just depends. Like, I do feel that some of the IPs in the tents have struggled.

Speaker: um So I would probably say one of those for one that could have benefited from a soundstage expansion like Fallout in particular. Yeah, probably could have benefited from that. um And I think last year, Dolls 2 would have been better in a soundstage because they're going for that that like enlarged feeling.

Speaker: Yeah, for sure. i don't know if anything would have saved Dolls last year. Yeah, I hated it. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I feel like um i feel like it depends on... like i feel like some houses...

Speaker: like are they, they go bigger on the set or they go bigger on like the costumes and you know, the, I guess like the actors and all of that. So I guess it really depends on like, what is like the real focus in these houses? Like, I feel like with a house, like i feel like Insidious, for instance, I feel like you needed that to be in a soundstage. Like that made a lot of sense. They had so much going on in that house and it worked perfectly for that. But then a house like hatchet and chains, even though it was a very story driven house,

Speaker: it worked perfectly in the tent. Yeah. And then also, like, I can't picture, like, Artista being in a tent either. Right. With the set so grand. So it really depends on, like, the story and what you got going on in there.

Speaker: Yeah. But, yeah, any any final thoughts, guys? Release some things, Universal. Yeah, give us another announcement for next week. We're waiting.

Speaker: Yeah. kids were out. Did we... Talk about that at all? don't know. Oh, not really. Yeah, single day tickets and experiences like rip tours and things are available. No passes. Oh, yeah, and then the scream early thing.

Speaker: Yeah. Oh, yes and big yeah. That was pretty big. We didn't mention that. So basically, um now we have, mean, they've always had the option to purchase a scream early ticket, which gave you access to the park, like at what, like 2 or 3 ?

Speaker: 3 p.m. 3, I think it was. It's 3 p.m. And it used to be like $30. Yeah. Right. It went from like 30 to like 50, and now it's like 70, isn't I think so. This year is 70.

Speaker: Yeah. but But it's kind of worth it now. little more worth of than before, at least. You get access to the park earlier, but you also get access to the to a few of the houses earlier as well. So like the moment you have access, I believe they'll start opening up some of the houses like at that time as two zero p m that's unclear yeah yeah i'm just the way i have to wonder if they maybe aren't gonna open until three or something but well maybe even so though like the earliest houses in the past have been like 515 515 yeah yeah so and i think it was three earlier than that three houses three houses yeah i think i said three houses yeah

Speaker: So yeah, that would be a huge benefit to getting houses done if you were able to get into them like starting even at three if it's not two like that would be. And they should do this is my guess if this is true.

Speaker: These are the three houses. Oddfellow versus Jack, Stranger Things and Sinners. Yeah, I could see that. Yeah. But I also have to wonder if they're not just going to cluster them all together and have the early opens like in the soundstage area together. area Yeah. Yeah. good I also wonder how they're going to execute this, because if it really does open at two, how many that's like and it normally opens at five. That's like an extra what?

Speaker: Three hours. Yeah. park open up Shifts. So how are they going to manage that? Because they already seemed to have issues like when they opened some of them early, like not all the actors were in position yet. And like sometimes earlier runs would not be full cast. They would almost have to split those houses into three casts. That's what I'm wondering. Are they going to like hire two casts for these and split it up? I don't know.

Speaker: If they're opening at two, you would think the earliest ones would probably come in for makeup like 11. Yeah. yeah if the park closes at two, they won't get home until like three. No, there's. That's a wild shift. That's not sustainable. Yeah. Yeah. You'd have to add a third cast for sure.

Speaker: Right. So a part of your $70 might be funding in an entirely additional cast. Or what if they're like these houses are closing early? That would suck. like I don't think that would happen. I can't imagine that happening. No.

Speaker: People would be writing. Especially if it were those houses, like stranger things. That's wild. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But it's clearly leaving it vague.

Speaker: Yeah. It's unclear if stay in scream is going to be allowed in those houses. Also, I would think that it probably would be, but they have not said anything yet. yeah what do you mean like if you have people with annual passes oh yeah yeah yeah like it might just be a scream early ticket thing right like you actually would enrage me i know that insane i can't i can't see that happening but you never know i mean like different than last year no it wouldn't be any different but it would kind of suck that can't get in it would suck yeah i mean yeah yeah very very curious to see how that evolves

Speaker: Yeah, that should be interesting. But that was an interesting update, and I can't believe we almost forgot it. i know. that was a big That was a big piece of information. Official information, at least. but um But yeah, but as always, if you guys haven't followed us yet, make sure you follow us on X and Instagram.

Speaker: And we will be back in two weeks, right? Yeah, we'll be back in two weeks. So, as always, stay spooky. Bye.

Speaker: Peace. That's tea, actually.
