Speaker: hey everyone welcome back to thrills chills and spills where we spill the tea on all things theme park special events and especially especially spooky season i'm kelly i'm joey i'm tyler and i'm rafa and today we have very little thrills and lots of chills but first as always we will start with our spill spills joey you want to go first Sure. So today's big news is finally, after watching its construction for months upon months upon months, Project Purple has officially been announced as Bakunawa.
Speaker: um And so we have a name. They revealed the train. um i The layout is the layout that's been pretty clear for a while now based on everybody's pictures. But um finally got the official confirmation that it is indeed a Mach Xtreme spinner. But the big surprise, at least to me, was that it's a floorless spinner. So if you're familiar with Time Traveler or Ride to Happiness, the floor and railing part of that train has been fully removed for this roller coaster.
Speaker: And there's basically nothing blocking your view. So um I'm not 100% sure that this was intentional. i i wonder if they were just like, we have to launch this very, very heavy train up 300 and something feet. And they were like, how can we save weight? Let's take the floor off.
Speaker: um But that being said, because it doesn't have a floor, it's going to be pretty cool when you are at the top of the spiral. There will be like kind of hanging there when you stall out at the top.
Speaker: um You'll definitely be getting some good views pretty much no matter what and hanging 382 feet. I think they said it was the train obviously doesn't go that high, but you know, 350 plus feet in the air. They'll be hanging out there with just a lap bar, which is kind of cool.
Speaker: That's pretty creepy. i yeah Hearing about the floorless part, I was not expecting that. And I was like, that's kind of scary. Yeah. um i I'm definitely excited for it, mostly to ride it in the front car because I think it's going to be... a really good drop and potentially some strong airtime like going into the spiral. yeah And then obviously the inverted launch is very unique. um We'll be curious to see if Mach makes that punchy kind of like how Stardust has a bit of punch as it continues to launch or if it's going to be a little bit more smooth. I guess we'll kind of wait and see. But it is supposed to go up to 100 miles an hour, um which some people have pointed out would launch it off the top of the spike.
Speaker: um So it's not going to hit 100 miles an hour like at the end of the last part of the launch, but probably like in the valley right before it starts to go up. um It has two trains, five cars per train, so 20 riders per train, and it has a sliding station. so Hopefully that helps a little bit with capacity compared to Flash, which is just one train also in the same park, a shuttle coaster.
Speaker: um I did do a little bit of research into Bakunawa. It is a Filipino ah myth, folklore. And basically Bakunawa is this a sea dragon type creature who jumps out of the ocean and eats the moon. And that's what causes an eclipse.
Speaker: So that's what the moon imagery that we've been seeing has been related to is it's like the folklore, the cause of an eclipse. And then like the people would come out and they would like bang pots and pans and make noises to try to scare Bakunawa back down to save the moon. And like then the eclipse would end. um So that's kind of the background to it, which is kind of neat. Like i appreciate that it's a unique name, that it's not gargantuan vertical vengeance, which...
Speaker: I think Ryan was trolling the Thuzi community pretty hard there, which is kind of hilarious. um And I think it'll catch on. um And I'm hopeful, which it is not entirely clear yet, that it will get a little bit more immersive theming.
Speaker: The videos that have been released and the images so far just kind of show the bare bones, no limits rendering without really any indication of like what the station or queue or things like that could look like. So I'm hoping that they delve a little bit more into the lore and hopeful that the station will have some nice theming and maybe a little bit of like lighting or things like that. um That park does, you know, have some later hours compared to others. So it could be cool to have some lighting on it and maybe maybe something similar to um what they're doing with Montezuma's Revenge refresh, where like when it launches, it has some like lighting and fog and stuff like that. That would be cool. But we'll just wait and see. It's months away still. It's not going to open until next year in theory. I do think we'll probably see a test this year. um
Speaker: But we'll see. i like that it's spooky looking. Yeah. I love the color of the track. I've loved it since I first saw it. like it's It's a great color. The video that they put out was absolutely insane. like This thing looks crazy.
Speaker: And it's yeah going to be so much better than Ka too. Ka, I did not prefer i'll say yeah just this is from a top 10 top thrill dragster fan yes that's true top thrill 2 was a major downgrade i think this will be an upgrade yeah i agree i think the layout has a lot more promise i think the launch may not be as punchy clearly but overall i think it's going to be a better ride so i'm excited for it the length of the stall looks insane. And like you said, the drop off of that thing in the front car or technically the back going that direction. Yeah. That is like Ride to Happiness on steroids. Yeah. I just, like, there was this one angle where it was like, they did it. They have an off-ride video of it as well. And the camera's kind of swooping up as the train is going down. And you just see the way that the back of that train or front or whatever it is gets yanked over the top. I was like, oh, that looks so good. Yeah. yeah and even with that stall like even like if it doesn't isn't like even if it isn't like the punchiest launch it's going to be very interesting to feel that sensation upside down for so long while spinning yeah while spinning at the same time it's going to be a very strange like feeling having no floor exactly all the whole thing all the limbs it's going to be very interesting I kind of like having watched the video and everything and I'm sure that you know this is kind of going to blow up on social media for people who don't you know normally look at this kind of thing. am curious about like the ridership that this is going to get because I feel it is more intimidating than Kingda Ka. It spins. It has no floor. Like it does a twisty thing at the top where you like stall out up there whereas Ka just kept going so it didn't look like you could get quote unquote stuck up there whatever. Like I feel like This is not going to be like, you know, like people are psychologically going to have to get over a lot to ride this. And I'm curious if that's going to make the line shorter than we think it will be just because people like won't ride it.
Speaker: We can only hope for our sake. yeah Capacity will not be great. Yeah. Right. But I mean, even Ka, like it had a little bit better capacity, but it never really had the longest of lines because I think that was a thing too. Like people just didn't want to ride a 400 plus foot tall roller coaster. So just curious to see.
Speaker: Especially at the end there when it was getting a little rough. Like there really there wasn't a line ever, even on busy days. Yeah. Yeah. um How do you guys feel about the sequence of events leading to this quote unquote announcement when like the track is completely done?
Speaker: Like, I guess my question is like, would you have done it in a different order? i know, I guess it's a different scenario for every park, but I feel like it's more exciting to have a big announcement before people, everyone can see what the ride is. I don't know.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean, it definitely like they've been doing a good job keeping the hype up by like having all of these social media influencers constantly coming out during and construction and releasing videos.
Speaker: Yeah, Ryan. Like that's a great strategy. Ryan knows what he's doing, um because I would say otherwise. I don't think it would have gotten the level of attention because everybody would have been like, okay, well, we kind of see what it is and we're over it. Yeah.
Speaker: And yeah, I do kind of miss the days of like, maybe there's like dirt being moved, but you can't even tell what like a footer or something, but you can't even tell what's happening. And there's already a teaser campaign happening and it gets announced before they even start to like put a support up. And that's a little more mysterious.
Speaker: yeah You got to think, though, like this announcement is not for us. right We were going to follow it no matter what. The general public of New Jersey and New York, they probably didn't even know a new coaster was coming unless they just happened to go to the park this year.
Speaker: This is for them. This is to build hype for the public and get the GP into the park. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I love all the talk going into it, though, like when they announce it after it's been built. Like it's kind of like with Velocicoaster, we had so much of that built already. And it was always like the churro stand at the entire time until they finally announced it.
Speaker: so I feel like just for that reason alone, like all the like the guessing, the theories, all that stuff, it's kind of fun to see it like come about that way. But yeah, I guess it's exciting both ways.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. I do see that because everybody like was watching the footers go in and be like, wait, what's it going to do? And then the footers spread out and they're like, oh, it's definitely going to be a stall there. And like people are figuring it out element by element. And they're doing the same thing right now with with I'm calling it Orlando drift. That's what I'm going to call it. Yeah. But we're literally looking at pieces of track on the ground and then like making no limits creations based on what those track pieces are and like trying to arrange them into a sequence. It's wild. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, people are smart. I'm not one of those people. who um Tyler, what do you have? Yeah, I just wanted to talk about some of the changes to upcoming Six Flags add-ons next year. So um today, I'm not sure if it was on the website or app, but there was a screenshot of um Cedar Point Home Park-based all-season Fastlane for next year for $2,000.
Speaker: which this year i think most people who got that bought it for the sale price of $500. So that's a 400% increase there. um And then also last week or maybe the week before, they announced that meal plans were also going up into the three hundreds for the...
Speaker: the all park meal plan and then you could also buy it in lower increments, I think 10, 20, 30, something like that. So just dramatic increases in price for all of these options.
Speaker: um Personally, that is not good for me as somebody that lives 20 minutes from King's Dominion and uses the meal plan all the time. But I get it. Like I'm the type that I spend all my money in like November, renewing my past for the next year, getting that cheapest price. And then I barely spend a dime except maybe on the occasional merch the whole next year. So like I'm probably the consumer that they're trying to change because I just don't yeah spend enough money in their park.
Speaker: um But you have, I know Kings Dominion specifically, people that live close to the park, they will go in like four or five times a week with their entire family and just get dinner in the park, not spending any more money, not even like riding anything, just using it to feed their family. So...
Speaker: I get where they're coming from. They need to um just find ways to get some more spending in their parks. And the all-season pass, I mean, the all-season fast lane, like that's been underpriced for so long.
Speaker: I think $2,000 is probably still a little underpriced if you're going to go to a bunch of parks, but I think it's more appropriate for sure. Yeah. I mean, Six Flags is obviously still in a lot of debt and they haven't been doing so hot um theme parks right now. Even Universal is soft just because of the economy right now. So like it makes complete sense. And I remember that back when the Enchanted um separation happened to sale, the Enchanted CEO was talking about because they got rid of their meal plans. And he was like, I would rather have somebody
Speaker: pay a more fair price. So he like lowered the prices of the meals in the park. And he was rather like, I'd rather have that be a more reasonable price, but have somebody actually buying it instead of the meal plans. Because I think they were in the cases of not everyone, but a lot of people who are really like taking advantage of that option. It was a loss leader for the park because it was just like, at a certain point, you're literally giving away free meals once you exceed a certain number. yeah,
Speaker: I think it's probably something they had to do, even though it's obviously going to impact some people's, you know, habits at the parks. Yeah. I mean, my gold pass with all park passport with all season meal was $250 for this year. Yeah. That's like a wild deal. when you Especially when you think about like it costs more than that for one night at a universal park.
Speaker: Yes, exactly. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see what shakes out. Rafa, tell us about the Orlando Thusies or the ahland Orlando spooky people. Yeah. So they are not happy right now. Not happy. um frequent fear passes went on sale, I think shortly after our last recording. And it was like a couple days after, right?
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, so they released frequent fear passes and they actually announced that they will not be adding the express option to these frequent fear passes for 2026 and most likely pretty sure for the future.
Speaker: um And a lot of locals are pissed off, specifically the influencers. They um they raged online. They were complaining and bitching about it all, and it was It was really funny to look at. I'm sorry. like i feel like and Like, I wasn't the one buying it, so I don't care. But I think it's kind of ridiculous to get mad over something that, one, I felt like Universal was absolutely losing money over this because the value was just insane. Like, I pulled up the prices right now. So Rush of Fear, I've done this one before, is $199 if you get it without Express. For $689, you get it with Express, and that is for a total of, like...
Speaker: I believe five weekends of the event, the first five weekends, you get every Thursday through Sunday, entry and express. Like that's insane for $6.89. And then frequent fear, you know, that was $8.39, which is basically every event night except for Friday and Saturday. And then the plus and the ultimate would include Fridays and Saturdays. So, you know, they're very unhappy about the fact that they no longer have this option.
Speaker: I thought it was, it was about, it was going to happen at some point. And with the popularity of the event, and now that they're trying to engage with you know we'll go into more detail but going into they're trying to engage with the younger demographic as well we're having so many more guests coming to the event and they weren't going to continue with that ticket like come on like that option like yeah sorry orlando people but i am smiling yeah i help it i can't help it it is so funny like i just feel it's's it's a little bit entitled like chill out guys like you like it was yes it was probably a great option when i had it that one year it was phenomenal it was great having the express every time that i went but
Speaker: It is what it is. Sorry, had to be the first. I mean, you yeah um well listen to these people. I mean, I listen to some of their podcasts and I really enjoy their podcasts. So like no shade, but like when on your podcast, you're talking about the Saturday night that you went and you just quickly got in six houses and then you hung out and drank in clubhouse.
Speaker: horror or whatever, like the normal person isn't going to get to do that ever. So you're sharing such a jaded view or a that's not the right word, like a, just an inaccurate view of what somebody's night at HHN could be. And a lot of people that are consuming their content are not from there. They're going to go for two nights and, not be able to do all that. And I think last year we talked about, actually, I know we did because I recently listened to a part a piece of one of our episodes, how people were saying you can't have fun at HHN unless you get Express. Well,
Speaker: Lots of people do it every year. Sure do. It was like super entitled feeling to me just because like there's a difference between this type of thing at a regional park and in this at a park like Universal that attracts not just domestic but like international attention.
Speaker: So like you being able to go through the express queue every single time you visit versus like this person who's coming only one time and has one night to try to like experience as much as they can, like it makes more sense to offer that opportunity to somebody who's coming once.
Speaker: Because if you can go 18 times or the event and clog up the express queue every single time, like you don't need to be in that queue anymore. Sorry, like you can pay for your express one or two nights over the course of the event and get in your multi house runs like you're going to do and and spend the rest of the time hanging out. And to be honest, like, it's probably a net positive for Universal because despite the number of people who were having Twitter crash outs, like, I'm not going to spend money on my, like, five nights of hotels and I'm never coming back to this park again. You know they are, first of all. Oh my God. And that's such a smart person. The Karen-isms. It's wild. I know. People out. Exactly. And second of all, they won't want to get in the line. So guess what they're going to do? Spend money on alcohol and food. Yeah.
Speaker: And the common argument I saw from them is like, well, that doesn't affect anybody else. If I want to spend my money that way, then I should be allowed to. Well, it literally does affect everybody else. You're clogging up the express line. And if the express line is clogged up, then the regular line is clogged up. And it's not fair for the people that fly in for one, two, or three nights for the whole season when you're there Thursday through Sunday every single weekend. It's just, it's not fair to everybody else. so Yeah. I mean, I'm just looking at the prices right now. We're talking like between $220 and $280 that you're paying for one night of Express if you don't have the frequent fear. So those people should be getting a good benefit because...
Speaker: Well, we'll let you know because I bought it When? For the first weekend when you losers are in California. Guess what? We got Express too. We got Express. We have Express We did get Express.
Speaker: But it's because only going one night. but yeah we are and We only got Express for one of the nights we're going, so we will have our normal experience. But one of them, I wanted to see how it was, especially since I think the Express be Expressing this year.
Speaker: Let me tell you, I feel like this is going to be the first year that people with Express can actually enjoy that like to its full potential. oh like I've done it before, and there have been, i think it was Last year, I was waiting in line for Terrifier on one of the nights that i that I had express and it took like 40 to 50 minutes to get into the house. Like if I'm paying nearly or I think I paid almost $300.
Speaker: for an express pass for that night, I shouldn't be waiting that long. And I feel like that's what locals just are. They're not, not that they don't understand. They absolutely do understand. They're just very spoiled by it. And they're just sad to have that taken away from them. But it's just like when people come for just one or two nights and they're spending money on this add-on that is not cheap at all.
Speaker: They should get their money's worth. They should get their money's worth. Exactly. They should be able to enjoy that express pass and get through that line properly. like 10 15 maybe 20 minutes tops but you should not be waiting nearly an hour to get into a haunted house here's the here's the kicker though the rumor the rumor being that they took this away but they're gonna single house express skips that you can purchase like with the qr code outside of the entrance this year we'll see we'll see what happens and if they do that i think that's fine honestly like if you're gonna do it like it
Speaker: at least they're paying it and they're going to make use of it. It's not like what Kelly was saying earlier. People are going to pop in and just be like, oh, I feel like going into two or three houses. like And you just took away Express from everybody else that may have wanted to buy it for that one single night. Right. I'm just curious like how crazy the dynamic pricing is because if you think about something like um Five Nights at Freddy last year and how long that line constantly was all night long. And then he gives people an option to purchase a single skip for it. How high do you have to price that single skip to not make the line too long? Like, is it going to be like 60 bucks? Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. like yeah i'm I'm interested to see how it goes. We got the, we are going a Thursday, a Friday and a Saturday. And I got the express for Friday. Cause I wanted, I didn't want to like, I want the first night to be like normal experience. Like what I'm used to playing the game, you know? But then i'm interested to see like, will it actually be quick? And then like, what will we do the rest of the night actually get to enjoy the atmosphere of like, you know,
Speaker: Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of people like they don't even use their express for the early stuff because if they can get some houses done quickly, so then they are able to double up later in the night where sometimes you can't.
Speaker: Yeah. it'll be with that being said I mean, it does seem like I see a lot of videos from the creators who are just hanging out in scare zones, taking videos. And it's like, why are they doing that? oh because they have express. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker: All right, we're on to my spill. I have a quick one. And then I also thought of a second one that I think is worth spilling about. But I'm always talking about being a dance mom. But i wanted to let everyone know that I am again, at 36 years old, a dancer, baby, I have gone, they are offering adult dance classes at my daughter's dance studio this summer, which is where I danced. And i have taken tap, contemporary, strength and conditioning, and I am living my best life.
Speaker: Like truly like riding a bike. Like I'm not flexible anymore, but that's not really required. Like the musicality aspect is literally in my bones and I am just living my best life. Like using this part of my brain again. It's been so much fun.
Speaker: Like it's just the best. So I'm doing that. But but my other skill is dumplings. Do you guys know about this? Oh, i've seen I do. The little mystery dumplings. like whoa I'm a mom and my kids are obsessed with these things. They're like squishy fidget toys.
Speaker: They come in little like containers that look like dumplings and you don't know which ones you get. You buy one and then you open it and it's like, oh, this is the one I got. There's different lines. They have holiday ones. Right now they have like quote unquote glitter dumplings where there's like six colors. And then the seventh color is super rare and it's glittery and it's like hard to get that one. Basically, they only sell these at five below. They sometimes sell at like Target, Walmart. But like you basically have to rope drop a store to get these dumplings.
Speaker: Mother effers. Okay. So last Wednesday was my day off from work and the kids are like, can we go to five below? Can we go? And i'm like, okay, let me see what time it opens. Opened at nine 30. Okay.
Speaker: Amelia, she is my daughter because she's like, mom, we have to arrive at 845.
Speaker: So we get in the parking lot and like, they've had a couple of these, like my mom has gotten them for them. I was like, not really. They watch little YouTube videos about people unboxing these things. So we get there. Nobody else is in the parking lot. Okay. I'm like, i'm we're staying in the car. Okay.
Speaker: Then other cars start pulling into the parking lot. And Amelia is like, go, go, go. We got to get in line. So we're like, running to the door. i shit you guys not in that half hour, we were standing there, there, there, a ah line formed of at least 25 other people.
Speaker: Okay, before the store even opened, we're looking through the windows, there's moms behind me saying, you know, they get shipments on this day at this store. And at this store, they get shipments on this day. And this store has this many limit you can buy. like it is like a whole black market going on with these freaking dumplings. Okay. It is insanity.
Speaker: The workers are getting ready and they bring what looks like a dumpling box up to the like front register. and Ben and Amelia see it. They're like, they have them. Because like they there are only certain days that these things get restocked.
Speaker: So they let us in We're first. We go up and we see there's a full box, a full fresh box of new dumplings. Limit three per customer. Well, you better believe we bought nine of those babies. And we brought them home. And we opened them. And then later that day, my mom shows up. She got them at her five below.
Speaker: Oh, no. Now we just have an extreme amount of dumplings. I personally, myself, have five of my own, all different colors. I have purple. I have yellow. I have orange. I have blue. And I have green. I have no rare ones, but I'm hooked.
Speaker: The adrenaline of opening these things and seeing myself for my children successfully rope drop a five below was next level. That is insane. I was living.
Speaker: I don't know if I'm going to do it again. Tomorrow's Wednesday. I know they get shipments, but it's only me. I don't have the kids. So I don't know if I'm going to go, but I might go. You could win $1,000 apparently with the golden dumpling. Yeah, I heard about that. but I heard there's only like two of those in the world. I'm not getting the golden dumpling so get you to rope dumplings. dumplings.
Speaker: It's crazy. I saw like a whole line formed outside of a five below. I'm like, what could they possibly It's happening across the country. Yeah. It's crazy. five below are getting lines. It's insane. It is so funny.
Speaker: Anyways, people listening to us, if you are listening, drop a dumpling emoji in the chat in our discord.
Speaker: All right. Anyways, that's it for our spills. That was a long one. Hope you're still hanging in there. We are moving on to a brief section of thrills. Joey, did you enjoy your goodbyes? I don't know if that was your last goodbye. It may have been to Air Force One.
Speaker: How was your weekend? I've decided I'm pretty sure that was my last goodbye. I don't really have a lot of desire to go the last weekend when it's going to be insane there. Um, so yeah, a lot of people came. Um, I am probably going to forget names if I try to name everybody, but, um, it was a good time. Uh, we probably had like 12 of us, 14 of us or something and at at some one point all at fun spot Atlanta. Um, it was a Saturday, so it was overrun by Fuseys who clearly had day tripped or, you know, one night at Atlanta just to ride it.
Speaker: Um, when I got there, I met everybody and we we went and wrote Hurricane first. um And that was its normal, hilarious nonsense of jank. And um some people hadn't written it before. So that was entertaining to watch them react to writing it.
Speaker: um I think Bethany got off and was like, what? And nate Nate got off and was like, oh gosh, that was terrible. um He's too big for that train. um But yeah, so that was fun. And then, yeah ari four one had a line between...
Speaker: I would say like 20 to 40 minutes at various times, which is like unheard of for me because the previous visits be besides opening day, even the Saturday of opening weekend, it was pretty much a station wait or a walk on. um So it was kind of like interesting to see ride that like, you know, people rate so highly actually getting the attention that it would normally get it like a normal theme park, I would say. Um, and that was fun. The weather did like roll in while we were waiting. So, um, a bunch of us literally, ah sat down on like a soaking wet train and then got dispatched into pretty strong rain.
Speaker: Um, and so we got this crazy, crazy rain ride. That was, um, probably a highlight for, for sending it off for sure. Got like two more rides after that at night. Um, but that was really fun and silly and crazy.
Speaker: Um, I think I wrote it four times that day, um, which is like unusual to write it that few times, but, um, it was a good time. And, um, I'll be sad to see it, you know, closed for a period of time, but I, it seems like such a, such a win to acquire it. So I really do think it's going to get relocated, probably not 27, but I think it might reopen somewhere in 2028.
Speaker: um ah Like selfishly, it would be nice if it were close-ish, but I don't really care where it goes. I would love to see it go somewhere that needs it. Like people have been throwing out places like Kings Island and Carowinds. And while don't disagree that they could use an RMC, I would love to see it go somewhere that's like bigger than Fun Spot, but doesn't have a big thrill coaster. Somewhere like Wild Adventures or like Winnie or like that are actually like parks not like an f FEC in a parking lot basically but that need a way to like pull people in I would love to see it go somewhere like that but we'll see everybody had a good time and some people rode it for the first time and we're loving it as expected it's a very good ride um so yeah RIP to RE Force 1 I'll be really curious to see what kind of colors it comes back in when it gets reincarnated hopefully it does yeah
Speaker: All right, Tyler, where have you been? wow I went to King's Dominion. Wow, is anybody surprised? Wow. um Yeah, I just kind of wanted to make sure I got a summer visit so I can check out some of the entertainment options.
Speaker: And I will say i was really impressed with what Six Flags has done over there this year. They have, I don't think last summer, i don't think they had any shows or anything besides like the main bandstand, which they normally have.
Speaker: So they had the main bandstand. They had um shows during the afternoon and then a special like rock the night evening show. which had a huge cast. It was like everybody from multiple shows comes for the one show pretty much and puts on a big production.
Speaker: um They had a water parade, which is cute. It was like a three float musical parade type thing. And then they just stop and do like a little musical number and spray a bunch of water into the crowds. The kids loved it. It was cute.
Speaker: um They had the Cirque show, which is kind of like your typical Cedar Fair Cirque show that they had, I don't know, maybe four years ago or something was pretty prominent.
Speaker: um Like the French, that same French Canadian company that always does it. But that was very cute. um And then at night they had the um drone and fireworks show, which I don't think they've had fireworks in five plus years outside of July 4th.
Speaker: And I've never seen a drone show. yeah. Drone show fireworks. It's every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. um it was very good. i was super impressed with the offerings that they had.
Speaker: I hope that everybody that feels the same, whether it's Kings Dominion or other Six Flags parks, please leave your feedback and like continue to go see these shows because some of them were very sparsely attended. And that makes me sad because I want to see these continue. And if people aren't showing up to them, then they're not going to keep them going. But um yeah, super impressed with Kings Dominion.
Speaker: That's great. Yeah, it kind of you have to kind of rebuild your reputation, I think is like an entertainment destination. So it might take some time. But that's good to hear that they're investing. Yeah. yeah Yeah. That's one of my favorite things in the summer is after you're kind of tired of coasters, just go get in the AC and watch a little show. I love it.
Speaker: Yeah. Awesome. Rafa, have you been anywhere? I have not. I've been sick, so I haven't been doing anything. but But next week I will, since we'll all be at the birthday bash.
Speaker: And I'll finally be going to Cedar Point. Fun. I'm excited about that. But no, nothing nothing nothing exciting yet. Back to back events where all of us will be. i you know. Who are we? Who am i All right. I haven't been anywhere either. Let's move on to chills. um So some of this we already covered, just some HHN related updates or news.
Speaker: We talked about the multi-night passes and the lack of express with them. Yeah. It looks like the Scream Early um experience has been clarified, um and it seems to be the same as it's always been. If you have a day ticket or a pass, um that counts as your ability to get into like the Scream Early, or you can buy a Scream Early ticket, which is now $75. That's crazy. On top of your HHN ticket. Yeah. Jesus. hope...
Speaker: I hope that's pushing sales for the day the the daytime tickets because it's like, why would you even spend that if you could potentially spend what like an extra $50, $60 on the ticket? like And have the rest of the day. whole day, not just had three hours.
Speaker: Well, you know something fun that we learned? What? Hollywood does not work like that. You can have a day ticket and an HHN ticket and you still have to separately purchase early access to get into their houses early. I was like, what is happening? We just learned that. Well, Joey just learned that. I had no idea and I had already bought my ticket the way I did, but whatever. I was coming to like, there's only two specific tickets you can purchase that get this early access that are like combo tickets. And then the only other way to get it is to purchase this separate early access thing.
Speaker: And they have two different color wristbands. So if you stay in the park, you you either get that you have early or you don't. And if you don't, they don't let you in. So I have to wonder, is that... going to make its way to Orlando eventually where you have to pay extra to get into these houses early. I could see it.
Speaker: crazy Maybe. And I will say like, I was kind of surprised to see the pricing when it comes to getting an HHN ticket and adding express to it. It's a little more affordable than Orlando's are actually a lot more like depending on the day that you go But like, I think our day, like if we would have just gotten like the HHN ticket plus express, it would have been like,
Speaker: under like i think it was like $280 something for just the ticket and just for the event ticket and the express whereas like HHN Orlando would be like $100 and something for the date for the ticket alone and then you're paying like $200 to $300 for the express pass.
Speaker: Yeah, it's definitely cheaper. I do think the value of this new stay and scream situation will be probably worth what they're charging for it though, because we know for sure you're getting three houses done plus potential reruns of those houses, depending on how many people are doing it. And then you can pre-queue presumably for houses that will, I don't know if they'll open before six, like they previously have like a 530 house and things like that. We'll have to see how they play it. But yeah,
Speaker: I don't know. I mean, we're obviously going to try it out and see how it goes. um But it'll be interesting. And I'm also interested in what three houses they're going to do that with. And I guarantee you, Stranger Things will be one of them. 100%. Yeah. 100%. Yeah, for sure.
Speaker: Yeah. So we'll see. i That's happening. and They also, um for the first time I think that I've ever seen it, are offering, going to call them half- Rip tours, they typically do an RIP tour with all of the houses included. But now you can choose if you want to do just the north houses, the north five and the south five. So the north five includes all of the sound stages and the south five includes Fast and Furious and all the tents.
Speaker: um Interesting. new development Apparently you used to be able to do this only by calling. So like if you call them, you could get a half rip tour, but now they've decided to like publicly put it on the website. This is a trash grab.
Speaker: Like what? Because when I look at like doing this, so in in Hollywood, and I think it used to be like this in Orlando, but it's not anymore. In Hollywood, if you do a rip tour, you get express for the rest of the night, no matter what on anything. But in Orlando, you only get express on rides. So you can't do the houses with express.
Speaker: So if you do a five house rip tour, you get to do those five houses and skip the line. And then you're stuck in the regular line to do the other. for the other I'm like, what? Like, why do you do that? Yeah.
Speaker: But I saw that RIP tours are pretty much completely sold out already. Yeah. So. Yeah. so ye They're like, if you didn't get the the good ones, here's the scraps.
Speaker: Have a half tour. More money. um What else? We learned about our last two unannounced scare zones since the last episode. The first of which, unfortunately, is fort Nightmares. someone Someone in the chat, please help us. Do you guys know what the hell this is?
Speaker: No. I've seen memes of dancing figures. Dancing bananas. That's what I said. Dancing anything. Apparently they all do dances. but for I guess they like license all kinds of IPs. and you can like They're called skins and you can like play the game as these different characters. so They have like a bunch of horror characters licensed that they use in the game. and That's kind of part of this like Fortnite mares Halloween...
Speaker: I guess, theme during, during October, I guess, in in the game. Why are they cheapening my Central Park? That's the worst part. It's terrible. that's the only thing that I'm, that I'm kind of wondering if, if it might actually be good. I really don't know what to expect from this scare zone. I really don't, but the location is always a good location.
Speaker: So I'm being optimistic. I'm not excited about it being Fortnite because I don't get it. I don't know what it is and what this would... and like I don't know. I don't know what the fuck it is. But it's it's going to be interesting, I guess. And the location is always great.
Speaker: So like I don't know. I am excited for it because one, it's in Central Park. And two, it's from the creators of El Artista last year. So you know it's going to be beautiful.
Speaker: I don't know about Fortnite or Fortnite Mare's. I don't know that IP, but I trust them to make a good zone. I mean, i think everybody's hating on it way too much. I think it'll be fine. i might not completely understand it, but I think it'll be for me to look at at the very least.
Speaker: I just want to understand it before I go. Like, I really enjoy doing my homework and this just seems like it's going to be something like, like I felt this way about WWE w and I ended up absolutely loving it, but there was also an easy ability for me to understand it. I don't feel like to understand this unless I like play this game or whatever. And I'm just not going to do that. I was hoping that fear and beer would come through like they did last year, but they have no idea what the hell is going on. Yeah.
Speaker: You're going have to watch a streamer. YouTuber or something. Oh God, that sounds awful. Yeah. I'll to find a good video and maybe drop it in the chat. I'm sure there's plenty of YouTube videos on it. I'm sure there is, but I feel like what a lot of people aren't liking is just not necessarily. I mean, yeah, they're, they're not happy about the theme.
Speaker: um But I feel like everyone kind of has a bitter taste um after all of the the fans that came for Five Nights last year, and they're expecting it to be the same, if not worse, when it comes to Fortnite.
Speaker: um So i think that's what I think that's why it has such a bad rep right now. I mean, we don't get it, but the kids might love it, but I think that's what we're all afraid of. like what Yeah. like kids are going to come to the event just because of this. I think it comes down to execution because first of all, like just because Fortnite has an IP that they can use in their game doesn't mean Universal has it. That's not how IP law works. So like how are what kind of characters are they going to throw in there? Is it going to only be the weird original characters like the bananas and stuff? Or are they going to put some of the licensed horror characters into this zone? That could be kind of cool.
Speaker: Also, there's like some kind of bus, like modified bus, battle bus thing. And I guess they're going to build that and put it into the zone. That looks kind of cool. So scenic-wise, there could be some interesting things there. I think what it comes down to is like how people interact with it too that could be problematic because like ah Fortnite, a lot of the, at least for your younger kids, it's like the same as like 6-7 culture. Like,
Speaker: yeah they start interacting with these characters in the scare zone and like do dances at them and stuff. That's when it's going to turn into something obnoxious. Like if we can just treat it normally as a scare zone, then it should be fine. I think. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah And I do think that's the vibe they're going for. I'm looking at the, um the art they released. It's got like a pumpkin head guy and like, a I don't know, demented guy.
Speaker: half and half creature in the back and then like a skeleton guy. So I don't think they're going for like the dancing banana type things. If I had to go. Hopefully not. Hopefully it will be one of those things where I come back and say how wrong I was and that it's still my favorite being in central park, but I just need to understand it better.
Speaker: Yeah. um And then we got our last scare zone, which will be in New York, and it is downtown Clown Town, it will include killer clowns from outer space and a return of our buddy Art the Clown, um and apparently some other famous clowns. So just a clown party up in New York, which I think will be interesting. I'm glad that it's in an area where there's a big space for all different things to go on. I think this might actually... suit New York's area a little better maybe um I don't know what do you guys think yeah
Speaker: I mean, from my experience working Busch Gardens back in the day, people run away physically as clowns. So, being New York probably is a smart decision. um I don't know. Have we seen clowns for the past, like, besides art, like, for for three, four years?
Speaker: Not really. unless it's, like, the chainsaw clowns, that's really it. Yeah. So, it feels different to me. Like, not not different in the terms of, like, Halloween overall, but for HHN, it's kind of like, oh, okay, this is actually...
Speaker: classic but i haven't seen it before yeah and i i did hear somewhere um i don't know if you guys saw it but people were talking about um i guess that somebody i don't know if it was on twitter um mike aiello was saying something about he was like talking about the scare zone and i guess i like he i tell italicized like um the word chance so i guess there's like a possibility that we might get chance like which i can see happening because like they normally have that stage set up in new york Like I can see them using either Jack the Clown or Chance like up there doing something, you know, with all the clowns or whatever.
Speaker: So, I mean, I think it'll be interesting. um i think it'll be fun. i don't know. I really don't know what to expect from it because it's just clowns. Like I'm i'm really curious to see like what they're going to do with like the theming and and everything else because clowns are just clowns. But like we need to see like what else is being brought into that zone.
Speaker: Yeah, there's so much clown happening this year in Carnival. And I'm almost like, is this just too much clowns? Like all three of the zones are going to have clowns. The main theme is Jack the Clown. He's the overarching kind of character for the anniversary year. But then again, every year I'm saying how much I want everything to tie together. And while last year they tried to make the conservatory kind of the overarching theme and that Sergio from El Artista kind of sculpted all of the characters that were represented in the houses. It was a little bit of a loose association where this year it seems much more of a literal kind of tie into everything. So hopefully it won't feel stale with the clowns everywhere, but maybe it'll, I'm sure they'll make them look different enough, the different zones. Yeah.
Speaker: It does seem a little weird to me because they announced Killer Clowns on July 16th, but they didn't really say what it was. And then on... Let's see, like the 24th, they announced they would be in the scare zone. So...
Speaker: With art. With art, yeah. I don't know. I don't know. that just It kind of seems thrown together last minute to me and maybe a little bit lazy because it's like these are just IPs that they already have and they've used very recently. Like Killer Clowns, i don't remember when when it was in Orlando, but I saw it in Hollywood in like 2019 or something.
Speaker: That's fairly recent for HHN. And they're just, hey, we've got these old costumes. Let's put together a clown zone. Like, yeah I'm not super excited about it. And as much as I loved art, I think it's too soon to bring him back. Like, it's almost overdoing it. He was a novelty and he was great. But it's like we didn't need him for the very next year.
Speaker: It's like the Megans. They got obsessed with the Megans. and They brought them back and it wasn't the same. Yeah. It'll be interesting for sure to see how this plays out. um And sorry to disappoint, but you will all have to wait for our hype list another week because we still don't have an official announcement for the final house in HHN Orlando. There was an oopsie um commercial that I saw floating around where there was... um Reference to the Ozzy Osbourne house that we have all kind of speculated about, but there's been no official announcement yet. So stay tuned about that, I guess.
Speaker: And our hype lists. Yeah. One rumor is that he's going to Hollywood, but not going to Orlando. Is there something going on though? Like it'd be like a, like,
Speaker: like an an IP issue going on. Like it does seem like something's wrong. Yeah. Cause it doesn't, I feel like we should have everything announced by now. We are less than a month away.
Speaker: It is very awkward. We had literally everything else. Yeah. Like there's something off about it. And I fear that it might, be an Ozzy Osbourne house and then for whatever reason they might just make it into like a rock star themed kind of house and they just don't know what to do with it like i don't know what's happening like it's really weird and we're like less than two months away we're literally a month away today yeah yeah opening night so it's really weird that we don't know yet what is going on with that last house It's just going to be called Zombie Rockstars or something like that. Yeah. It's going to something ridiculous. But it's like, what? I'm very curious to know what what's happening.
Speaker: Yeah. It's strange. Especially since, like, they obviously are aware of that leak. Mm-hmm. Like, what has since transpired, you know? like Yeah. I don't know.
Speaker: But anyways, so in place of talking about our hype list today, we're We are going to make some predictions. We're going to play kind of a little game in the form of a discussion about our predictions for the event this year. We've done a little bit of this as things have been announced, but we'll kind of go through some of the houses, some general predictions.
Speaker: um Some people asked us about food and beverage, so we'll just talk through some of that. And um later it'll be fun to see how correct or incorrect things we were in our predictions. So starting with the houses that we do know, we have Jack versus Oddfellow Chaos and Control. do you guys, what do you think, like if you had to picture this house, like what do you think we'll for sure see in there?
Speaker: I think Jack the Clown will be in there. gas there will be clowns there might also be a dr oddfellow imagine that yeah big if true i'm getting um carnival tent and mirrors yeah i really don't know what's happened what's gonna be in this house like i can't like besides the characters we really don't know and obviously we know that jack is like about the carnivals and everything like when it comes to oddfellow though like i don't know what to picture like So I went back, it's been a little while since this was announced and like read some descriptions and stuff. And it really feels like the setting of this, if you guys remember, is going to be in the odd verse. So basically Jack's box that he was stuffed in is supposed to be a secret portal to the odd verse and odd fellow didn't know that. So that's where Jack has been all this time, like gathering some of odd fellows powers. And that's where they end up like fighting each other. That's the basis of the house. And then they come together at the end. So I kind of picture and I saw that Dylan Colath is doing this house. He did Artista.
Speaker: I think I picture us entering through his box. Like it's going to be a giant. Oh yeah. Jack in the box. And that's like the facade. Yeah. and then we're in this place and I picture.
Speaker: because of the key art, maybe lots of like really bright neon colors. And maybe we'll see the return of the spinning lime green grave of flesh. Who knows what the hell they are. ah Straight out of the odd verse.
Speaker: Straight out of the odd verse. They're back. It's the same color in the key art, just green and everywhere. That's my prediction. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker: I hope them coming together the end is not cheesy. Because we think is cheesy. I almost feel it's going to be sort of like the end of Terrifier where he's like up on a balcony or something.
Speaker: I don't know. Yeah, choose your side. i'm on a your on fellow i do Yeah, I can see that actually. I didn't think about that. I can definitely see that being a thing. I think it was so popular last year with Terrifier. I can see them doing something similar.
Speaker: um with Jack and Oddfellow. Or maybe that's like in the middle of the house when they're still fighting. Which would be pretty cool. Yeah. It wouldn't make sense for you to take like a side, like pick a side in the end if they're coming together at the end.
Speaker: Yeah, it'll be interesting. um Let's move on to Evil dead Burn. um This was recently announced. um This is based off of the new movie that is currently in theaters. Did we talk about this being announced? I don't know if we did. I don't think so.
Speaker: Well, yeah it's a house. Evil Dead Burn was announced um based on the new movie. um I have only seen the 2013 version, but I did read a brief synopsis of the plot of the new one, and they're all very similar, it sounds.
Speaker: um So I'm guessing in this house, we're going to see some deadites with some yellow eyes. I really won't know until we watch the movie. I have no idea what to expect from this house.
Speaker: We're going to see some fire maybe. We're going to see some Demento book thing. Necronomicon. Yeah. Something like that. yeah Necronom Demento. um I actually after watching this movie because I just rewatched it recently. i do think that this has a potential to be a pretty scary house. Yeah.
Speaker: like the creatures are scary i did the 2013 house when they did that haunted house like i think it was in 2013 or 2014 when they did it um and it was a pretty scary house they did a good job with it like they had like i don't know if well you just watched the the first remake but the scene where like the girl has like she's she's peeking her head from the ground like from the me or something that scene was great yeah that was a really good one so I feel like this franchise is very good at being very disturbing, like visually. So um I can see a lot of those very like creepy scenes having their moment in this house.
Speaker: um So I think it really just depends on how much you like the movies maybe. Cause you can appreciate it a little bit more. ah but yeah. i think sometimes worry about IPs that the main setting of the movie is in a house because it lends so well to being like a chronological movie set walkthrough rather than a, it's like, we got to hit these scenes. Yeah.
Speaker: um And hopefully it doesn't feel like that, but I get why they have to do that with an IP. So I kind of like what makes me think of that as like a quiet place. It was so like, here's when this happened here. I loved the house, but like, here's when this happened. Here's when this happened. And it's all part of this in this house. All these things happened. It's predictable.
Speaker: Yeah. Which is okay for so to have one of those. Yeah. Yeah. ay Stranger Things 5. We talked about this at length when it wasn't before it was announced what we anticipate being in here. And when I was going back, I might try to rewatch the season season. But when I was going back through like the Wikipedia description of the episodes, there are so many important scenes in this freaking season. How are they going to do this?
Speaker: Yeah, it's going to be one of the larger houses for sure. And this is one of the soundscapes. Yeah, okay, good. It has to be. and like I can't imagine this house being in one of the tents in the back.
Speaker: There are too many scenes, too many big scenes, um especially like when you go to... um is it called again What is the name of the place where the Mind Flayer is in?
Speaker: With the tentacles and stuff? Yeah. what What was the name of that place? Was it like... It wasn't like The Boys or... What was that? The Abyss. Okay, yes, it was The Abyss. Yeah, so like doing scenes like that are in The Abyss. Like I'm very curious to see like how that's gonna be.
Speaker: i think that has to be in it. It has to be. yeah But I'm just wondering like how they're going to do it. Because it's such like a big... like environment i don't i don't like they could have it zoomed in and just have a couple of kids like in the structure of the thing that's so true i don't know i hope they have the um sort of some outdoor scenes like where max is in the ah the mountains and then like through the woods and everything i hope they have that and do it well i hope they don't could be that house
Speaker: Like the, yeah, it definitely could. Yeah. Henry's house. That would be cool. And hopefully it's, hopefully we're not going to get there. um Hanging fallout ah scenic that they slapped on the back wall. That literally looks like Hamazots. like, Oh, please. No, don't do it.
Speaker: The wasteland backdrop. um But I went through and I wrote down, like, tell me how they don't have the squawk. The squawk has to be in it, I feel. Yeah, I feel that. A lot happened there.
Speaker: Then there's, like, the Abyss. There's the Wheeler house. I feel like a lot happened there. The Creel house, Camazotz, the hospital, Max Like, these are all huge scenes. If I don't see Will Byers on his knees doing some powerful shit. Yeah.
Speaker: i then you didn't do season five, okay? I wonder if you just don't even include that scene. The scale of that scene is so huge. I know. At least have him in that. He's to be there. A lot of these scenes from season five, I feel like it's the reason why I'm not so hyped about this house. I'm just worried about how they're going to make it look, how it's going to be in a house. The scenes with you know with You know, when they were in the Wheeler house, like that's going to great scene, like for a haunted house.
Speaker: But then like the abyss and like these other like large scale scenes, like I'm worried that we're going to get a whole fallout situation. where We have that cheesy backdrop and it's really not going to do much for it.
Speaker: Hopefully not. I mean, definitely season four made for great scenes because a lot of it was like in the lab. Yeah. And that's easy to do in a house. Right. Or like, Chrissy, wake up. That whole scene.
Speaker: Easy to do. Yeah. yeah Other thoughts about Stranger Things? Nah. Nah. Okay. So we then have our first, um well, I guess Jack and Oddfell is an original, but we have Madlands, Caged Cannibals.
Speaker: What do you guys picture in this? This is the zoo one, right? earlier Yeah. I think it's like thats pretty straightforward. Like, probably walk through like a decrepit zoo gate entrance. Because this is this a soundstage?
Speaker: I think it is. Yeah. So like walking through like the decrepit entrance plaza to the zoo and then lots of cages. But I'll be curious to see if there's actually animals because the description says that it's cannibal people.
Speaker: Yeah, it says that the animals are extinct like years and years ago and the the cannibals are taking on what they think the animals were like. Right.
Speaker: right So it'll be interesting. We might not even know. They might be like half zebra, half lion animals, you know, like they don't know, like they could be crazy looking things. yeah I would appreciate that. i would also love to see like some delineation. Like if you feel like you're moving from exhibit to exhibit, like, Oh, like now we're in the giraffe one. Now we're in the, like maybe an underwater. I mean, they probably won't get water one, but that would be cool. Or like a pond or something. They've done like water effects and sound stages. and yeah yeah Cool. Like,
Speaker: Yeah, I would love that. I think this is this has the potential to be pretty, like, gory and bloody. I think so. And i I feel like this house might have a like, an animatronic. Like you were saying, like, we don't know what animal-like thing they might they might have. So they might have, like, a big, like, animatronic in here. I could see that happening out of all the houses. I can really picture it here. can see it being very puppet-heavy.
Speaker: Yeah, i I could definitely see that. Hopefully not. yeah I can see that, yeah. And then we have H.R. Blood and Guts, which I think what what interests me most about this house is that they're saying that in the movies that he's showing or representing, the Halloween-themed movies, we're going to see some callbacks to h h other HHN, and I'm like, please let there be Cat Lady of Crooked Lane, the movie. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah I want to see that bring you back definitely see that. I'm actually very surprised that we didn't get a haunted house this year for Cat Lady, but maybe in the future. but you who come back yeah oh yeah I can definitely see it making some sort of cameo in that house.
Speaker: I think this is going be very interesting because i do think they're going to bring back a lot of HHN past to this house. I just don't know how they're going to do it. What else is very Halloween-y? Wicked Growth. That was good one.
Speaker: Maybe like Goblin's Feast was pretty Halloween-y. Yeah, that's a good one. Like represented in like B-movies. I hope this feels different and separate from Slaughter Cinema because it sounds like the setup is going to similar.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, the setup sounds very similar. Like moving from set to set, basically. Yeah. Okay. Moving on to another IP, Hellraiser.
Speaker: I think we said this was announced. We've all been kind of watching it at our own pace here. Yeah. I picture some chains. yeah oh yeah very like erotic some mattresses those rotating column things uh probably a little labyrinth scene spoiler like i think it's in hollywood the um oh i forgot the what it's called the the puzzle box is the facade and that was really cool yeah you like that was really cool
Speaker: um So I imagine the two coasts usually have different interpretations of it. So I imagine that the Orlando one will be different. But that yeah that to me feels very in line with the second film because you're like in the maze of the Cenobites world. Yeah.
Speaker: That labyrinth of stone. Yeah. Weird stuff, you guys. Yeah. I think after watching the movies, I... feel I've only seen one and two. I do see, like, even though I didn't love it as a movie, I can picture this being a very good haunted house.
Speaker: I think it's very, like, I feel like there's going to be, like, a good amount of gore in there for sure. I think that visually it's disturbing. um And I could see it being very practical with their effects in there, like as they are in the movie, I can see it being like that. And I like in the second one specifically, you have those like creepy hallways where they're running through. That's going to be very cool to see in a house in in the house.
Speaker: um So yeah, I don't know. This one is definitely going to be an interesting one. I feel like it has potential as a house. better house than a better movie. Like, better house than movies. Definitely going to be pulling some skin off people. yeah, going to be disgusting. They're going to take Vecna and use They literally look like Vecna when the skin's off of them. They're going to put an extra Vecna in there. they're going to have a Frank for sure.
Speaker: and yeah <unk> ah for probably julia too julia freaking julie thank you julia julia julia is horny as fuck man like what was her deal this is episode is not rated pg-13 that was yeah no that was a wild movie and neither is hellraiser it's not pg-13 that is a wild movie okay very interesting but but The third one was like, there was a full sex scene in the third one. I was like, oh yeah. yeah
Speaker: ah yeah ah Yeah, I'm not surprised that. A lot more than you'd be allowed to see now. I'm not surprised by that. Yeah, that was wild. was heading in that direction, so not surprised. Yeah, yeah. Okay, moving on. We've talked about Sinners a lot, a lot, and how we anticipate it being inside the juke, and I don't even know that we need to spend any more time on it unless you guys have had new thoughts.
Speaker: um So moving on to the last two originals, Invasion, Alien Abduction. Yeah. You guys, I'm just going I'm really excited about this. Me too. I'm really excited about this house. like I don't like I don't know. It's just something about it Everything I've heard is that it's it's not going to be at all camp. It's going to be extremely, aggressive and scary, and that's what I want. And this is what I picture. I picture the same vibe, and I may have said this before, as, like, Blood Moon, Galkin, Scarecrow, like, this kind of, like...
Speaker: um like outdoor village. And we know it's going to take place in like the Southwest where aliens have been. And i just picture like a Southwestern version of like a village and people are just getting swiped by these freaking creatures. And i hope it's so, so scary. I really do. Yeah. right I'm very hopeful when it comes to this house. I don't know. I think, I think it's going to be a good one. and like you said, it's not going to go the camp direction. So very, very curious to see how they go about that.
Speaker: Yeah. And what the creatures are going to look like. And i think some of the articles mentioned it being pretty claustrophobic, which if it is in one of those original tents, like I think that will be done so well.
Speaker: Excited. It says sprung tent. So yeah. Interesting. I'll be curious to see what the tentacles are that they've talked about because apparently aliens abduct people with tentacles. So I'm sure they'll be coming from different directions. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah Yeah, I'm excited for this one. I feel like we've been on a major alien kick this year on this podcast. totally well Yeah. And then the last one, Cybergoria. um They already kind of told us this is going to be cold because they're freezing the people.
Speaker: um I picture like it being very sterile color, like lots of white and like silver. And then maybe there will be some blood. Yeah.
Speaker: That's all I got. kind of just struggle to even picture this, honestly. i keep having the bad feeling that this is going to be like a doll's situation. yeah And there's going to be a weird smell that we all hate, just like we did last Formaldehyde, i bet you.
Speaker: i i don't know. That's a smell i've had living in my nose quite a few times. Yeah.
Speaker: oh where is this located sprung tent okay interesting hmm yeah because i feel like sci-fi like building yeah sterile like so metal stuff i don't know that seems kind of the vibe yeah a tent lots of like fluorescent lighting well on that note with the houses i thought it'd be fun for each of us to kind of predict a couple of different categories which house do you guys think will have the longest queue Stranger your Things.
Speaker: Same. and how are you through no I think Stranger Things. Yeah. Which house do you guys think will be the biggest sleeper hit? Mine is Madlands.
Speaker: I'm going to go Blood and Guts. Yeah, I was going to say the same. I think HR Blood and Guts might be the sleeper hit. I'm going to go Madlands too. I kind of feel like in my head that's a little like eh, but it might turn out to be really good. Who knows?
Speaker: Which do you think will be the scariest? Which one is in Fast and Furious? Blood and Guts. Blood and Guts. I hope Invasion is the scariest, but I feel like Evil Dead might be scariest. I don't know. I think Hellraiser might be the scariest. Same.
Speaker: I think that has potential. yeah i I have a feeling. i don't know. Okay. Okay. I like it. Yeah. Goriest. I'll go with Madlands on this one.
Speaker: Yeah. Madlands for me. I think Hellraiser. Depending on what they We have a lot of gory houses this year. Yeah. seems to be Because like CyberGory is going to have like modified humans in it. We've got cannibalism. We've got Hellraiser.
Speaker: i don't know. An invasion seems like they're not. like cut their body parts off. Yeah, I don't know. Like it. A lot of them. Yeah. Cold. We don't even have to guess, I guess. Hypergoria. Hypergoria, yeah. or yeah yeah Campiest house, I think, has to be Blood and Guts, right?
Speaker: Yeah. And i'm I'm like thinking, is that the only one this year? Or is Jack versus Oddfellow going to be campy? Because I can see that. I can't picture that. i You don't think?
Speaker: I don't think, I don't know, a Jack and Oddfellow, that would be so, I mean, it could be though. I don't know. maybe I could also see Madlands kind of being in camp in the way that Yeti is.
Speaker: yeah yeah But yeah that doesn't seem like there's a lot of that this year. Yeah. I agree. I feel like I don't want it to be invasion, And even though they said it's not camp, it might still be a little camp. It might still be. So i'm I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know. But i can I can see the Madlands take for sure. And then which house do you guys think will be? I mean, they use scents in like a lot of houses. Do you have any guesses about certain scents in houses or which house will be the smelliest?
Speaker: Evil Dead. Evil Dead. I feel like Madlands, like the animals. Yeah. oh yeah. That could be a poop one. For sure. Yeah. Yeah, Madlands. think Gloria could smell depending on what they're doing to the people in there. Yeah.
Speaker: It's between those two for me. Hellraiser? Hellraiser looks smelly. like can I can see that. What's going to have the shortest line? Shortest line. I'm going to go...
Speaker: Cybergoria. Yeah. Yeah. Cybergoria or Invasion, I feel. Yeah. It's always the original. Those lines yeah I don't know.
Speaker: It couldn't be Blood and Guts. I would have originally guessed that, but considering that it's in Fast and Furious, there's no way that's going to be the the shortest. Yeah. yeah like I don't even think they can make, i don't even think that's possible for that location. So yeah, I don't think it's going to be that.
Speaker: yeah Oh, look at you, Rafa. And you're a walleye. Just notice him a walleye gang. Oh my God. He's been sipping on that the entire hour.
Speaker: color i love that one. Noticing them at work. Cause now I know what they look like. my running in here man Yeah. It's pretty great. It's pretty great. Yep.
Speaker: yep It's the best. um Sorry about that. pdhd moment um do you guys have any predictions about the zones the slideshow of jk has already started going up yeah and it is more carnivaly than i expected because they advertised it as like a junkyard and it's looking just like clownish carnival yeah it's not see i could see the junkyard Maybe a little, but it's little like, it's more carnival on the carnival side of things than I expected it to be. So yeah that was interesting for nightmares. We it's going to have the bus cause they said so. But other than that, I'm like, what do you do with this? I, I don't know.
Speaker: Are they going to hang something in the trees? Like they usually do. Like what we, I don't know. Hmm. Yeah, don't have a lot to go off of. and We kind of already know what to anticipate with the street experiences. I do kind of hope that Club Horror has a little bit of a different theming. Like it's not the same like animal masks, girls dancing.
Speaker: don't mind if it is, but I kind of hope that it's switched up a little bit. It might be another carnival tie in like they're like burlesque-ish, carnival-ish. Yeah. um I want to say, and I don't know if this was fan art or if it was legit.
Speaker: I saw something on the internet, like a mock-up of the truss for um Infernal Carnival. And it was like way more detailed than the truss normally is. Like the iconic sign was in the middle, but it it was very built up to look like Carnival-ish. And I'm curious if that is actually going to happen because it looked really cool. Oh, that'd be cool. um And they did have though like...
Speaker: on like either side of it, they had built up like platforms with like the, you know, the yellow and red striping and stuff, like very aged and everything and dark. And, but Jack and Oddfellow were standing on top of those two things. So that kind of gave me the same vibe of like the, um like the, the most recent icons have all kind of been like elevated and talking to people from up there. So I could see them doing that. well I'm welcoming people in.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Any predictions about Nightmare Fuel Blood Noir? The non-carnival aspect of this?
Speaker: There will be fire. There will be wands. The fuel girls are back. with the fuel girls are back Yeah, they're back. I mean, I'm, I don't know what, like, I, I'm very intrigued because I don't know what to expect now that we've moved on from like this trilogy that we just watched with the past three years.
Speaker: um I don't know what this blood noir theme. I'm very curious to see if this is going to be like a standalone story. Is this going to be continued on to the following year? Like, i don't know.
Speaker: I'm excited to hear the Fuel Girls are back. I mean, it's a fun show. I think it's a great show. I think it's okay for them to stick to stick with it. Like, i'm I'm totally fine with that. But, yeah, i'm I'm curious because we mentioned, i think, last time that the whole noir thing is like a black and white thing. um I'm very curious to see how they incorporate that in the show and the production. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah I mean, last year we kind of thought that was like an all new type of show and it was still pretty much just a continuation from the previous year. or So yeah, don't know how actually different it's going to be.
Speaker: We'll see soon enough. um Okay. Moving on. um Simon asked us now that we have all of these announcements, do we have any food or beverage predictions for this year?
Speaker: Which we will fully review when that is released, as always. haven't really thought about it a lot yet, honestly. yeah same. they're going to make They're going to make one of those darn dry as hell ah pockets of meat, and it's going to be the puzzle cube for Hellraiser. oh Yeah, for sure they're going to do it. yeah Yeah, that's that's going to happen. They're going to turn something into a marshmallow. Or they'll do the Evil Dead book will be the meat pocket. I wrote some some stuff down that just popped into my brain quickly today. I feel like they always have some sort of pizza skull esque. thing where there's like pizza inside of something i feel like there's so much lore about odd fellow's skull on a stick whatever his like thing is that they could do that and fill it with something green to match like the green art um i feel like their drink of the year will be some sort of like green looking thing the green elixir from
Speaker: um they'll probably have carnival food somewhere funnel cake stuff fried over something like that i wonder yeah i wonder if they'll do for the book from evil dead if it'll be like a layer cake to look like a book like i can see that too does there i don't know um do we think and please god if you're listening we will see the return the fried uncrustable this year think they're not lunch boxes i think so they always they always bring it back i didn't they have it wait was last year the first year they had it in like a while oh yeah yeah it won't be that hey i can i can think well i it works perfectly with fort nightmares
Speaker: like yeah for kids so it's fortnight there you go we have erica's deadly pie for stranger things oh i was like wait who's era erica yes erica's deadly pie that would be a great one i can see sinners having i just thought about it like i feel like they can have like a like a smoky drink yeah we center southern like comfort food definitely i could see a lot of comfort food um for sinners which will be pretty neat meat meat for like hellraiser evil dead cannibals lots of meat right on it yeah yeah that's pretty much all i got in my brains oh my just thought about this random thought just thought about stranger things 5 and them having like dipshit derrick in this house like i didn't even think about that character delightful derrick you mean yeah it is delightful wow ah
Speaker: But yeah, it's going definitely be in there somewhere. That'll be really fun. To finish out our question. um Ashley asked us what our favorite fall drinks are alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Speaker: Like a spiced apple cider. yeah good yeah That's the answer. Alcoholic and non. yeah Yep.
Speaker: Agree. okay Well, that finishes up our um spills, our thrills and our chills. I think that's it for today. do you guys have anything else to add? We better be able to do a hype list next time because this is getting ridiculous. are We're just going to make up this last house. Yeah. yeah We only have a few weeks, a few episodes remaining until HHN. We hope to be able to cover the food and beverage in our hype list. Stay tuned. think the food and beverage does not even come out until after it started last year. No, we got it in the episode the week before, think. The week before. Okay. Yeah, it's insane. I think during previews we get that.
Speaker: We'll do our best, everyone. And um thank you for listening. If you're still here, follow us on our social media, Thrills, Chills and Spills on Instagram.
