Speaker: Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and of course, the spooky season. I'm Rafa. I'm Joey.
Speaker: I'm Tyler. And I'm Kelly. All right, and we have a couple of updates, trip reports, spills, of course, and we have some more HHN news that we'll be going over in a bit. But of course, to start off, and we have some spills. Joey, what do we have?
Speaker: Buzzbars can't host an event without calamity. so annoying hu yeah uh fury 325 was just closed for the entirety of our wobble event wobbleville event and it seems will be closed for the inevitable future i guess i don't know they're they they boxed off as support in the same area that the other crack happened a couple years ago and Here we are. so that happened. That's great fun that we had to cancel our Fury 325 ERT and replace it with something else.
Speaker: We also had rain at Dollywood early this year. we had a ton of rain at Canada's Wonderland and i closures. And it's just been a great year. Yeah, it does make me feel a little bit better that it seems like a semi-major issue and it didn't open up like the day after we left.
Speaker: Yeah, that would have sucked. Yeah. Yeah. Like how Mindbuster opened a week after we were again at this Wonderland. Yeah. And overall, weather didn't ruin the whole weekend, but it was a part of it, as per the usual.
Speaker: You guys dealt with it on the first day, right? Yeah, it was just like a quick thunderstorm. It was fine, but it's like just funny at this point. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that sucks. I mean, I was bummed for you guys. I wasn't there for the ERT, but I was bummed. I was like, damn, that really sucks. Fury ERT would have been a good time. And I feel extra bad for MZ, who says that this is like her second time trying to get Fury. And the first time it was the whole crack incident.
Speaker: And then now it's this and... I, if I were her, I just wouldn't even try to go back at this point. Is it the new lightning rod? I know. Well, it'll make my visit next year, much more exciting because they'll have the giant log flume and fury. So very true.
Speaker: Very true. Kelly, what do you have? So I lost my voice this past weekend for the event, which made it really hard to communicate. i had such a good time spending time with all my friends and really was in a social mood, which is pretty rare for me. But like I had to keep repeating myself to people or Tyler had to say what I was saying to people because I lost my voice. And the funny part of this story is like I wasn't sick. Like I don't have laryngitis from like being sick. Like I had no sick symptoms. this all started because I cleared my throat too hard when I was running on the treadmill, which is so embarrassing. And like,
Speaker: maybe can relate to getting old. I'm not really sure how I did this, but everyone at work the past two days has been like, oh what's wrong with you? Like trying to stay away from me. I'm like, I am not sick. Like I just cleared my throat too hard. My voice is so much better. If you were at Wobbleville this weekend, you know how I sounded and I sound almost normal.
Speaker: But if I sound weird, it's because I was missing my voice for like the past five days. Yeah. I found myself asking, huh? Like every five seconds. I felt like so frustrated just because I couldn't communicate, but also like embarrassed because it was like, I literally can't say it any louder. Like I'm straining with all my might. I was like, just no, forget what I said. It's not important.
Speaker: Well, you're going hear me less later if I keep trying to move on with the conversation and pretend I'm not here. But like everyone at work on Monday was like, were you screaming a lot at your roller coaster event? And I was like, no, did not scream one time.
Speaker: Unable to scream. This is not from screaming. Oh, man. Yeah. And Tyler. So Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa was just announced as closing on August 2nd, maybe like a couple hours ago. i heard about it. Yeah.
Speaker: It's weird though. So this coaster is older than I am. I'm not a Kumba lover. Like I'm not that upset about it, but their announcement left more questions than answers because they had this like, yeah, they had this Instagram video of it closing on August 2nd, but let me read what they posted.
Speaker: While Kumba may be retiring this summer, Bush Gardens is dedicated to thrilling the next generation of coaster enthusiasts by continuing the Kumba story. As part of our evolution and commitment to delivering innovative attractions, we are happy to announce Kumba's Revenge.
Speaker: This new attraction is part of our $100 million dollar investment that will elevate Busch Gardens as Florida's throw leader, blah, blah, blah. Kumba's Revenge is an extension of an already legendary coaster, and it will allow its spirit to live on as we enter a new era of thrills.
Speaker: The legend of Kumba will continue. Stay tuned. With the roller coaster emoji at the end. What could that possibly mean? This is all a mess. You're saying goodbye to your coaster, but you're putting $100 million into it to continue and make it an extension.
Speaker: What does that mean? i have some early written marketing copy that's being misinterpreted. It's just going to be a new ride. That's all it means. It's got to be a new ride, right? event or whatever Yeah. yeah I mean, doing an extension to the layout of Kumba would be insane.
Speaker: That would be insane. An entire new retract for $100 million dollars would also be insane. so yeah You wouldn't spend $100 million dollars to just have pretty much the same exact ride experience.
Speaker: I mean, I think they're just going to demolish it and build some sort of dark ride or something, to be honest. But yeah the way they worded this announcement is just ridiculously insane like it doesn't think they were kind of like shady that they put a coaster emoji like people are gonna think it's a new coaster yeah i mean maybe it will be but the way they worded it just sounds like they're gonna put a lot of money into refurbishing it which there's no way that's the case
Speaker: Yeah. I think it's just going to be a new attraction with $100 million. Like, there's no way. Yeah. It was a very weird way to go. not going to be a $100 million attraction. The way they phrase it, I mean, I feel like it's going to be an entire redevelopment of that land back there to something new. then they're going to pay homage to Kumba. I have two thoughts about this. Number one, girl, bye. I'm a Kumba hater. And number two, like...
Speaker: like i don't I don't understand why every ride that gets retired now, the new replacement has to have the original name plus revenge. I'm over it.
Speaker: I'm over it. yeah It's the new Twisted. it is new Twisted. but like This is clearly not going to be an RMC right next to Iron Gwazi.
Speaker: Right. oh Yeah. but they did it with They did it with Big Bad Wolf, the Wolf's revenge too it's like dude and that with revenge yeah there's all these nostalgia plays happening I feel like they preliminarily announced something that they're not actually ready to announce to ease the backlash about closing an attraction that's what it feels like to me yeah yeah it could just felt very awkward to just throw the name out there was just like what? I know like i if it were me I wouldn't I would have just said hey we're closing this and not said anything about the new ride but it's very awkward the way they did it
Speaker: I mean, the coaster's 32 years old or 33 years old. like it's It's okay to get rid of a 33-year-old coaster. I know people love it, but it's not that big of a deal. I think the Kumbh Love is overstated, honestly.
Speaker: Yeah, I agree. Yeah, like i'm I'm like sad about it for like nostalgic reasons, but I'm okay with the closure. Like it is what it is. like it was it was going to close sooner than later, so I'm okay with it. But I just feel like the way that they did this just feels so weird. And and like you said, Joey, I feel like they were just avoiding, they were trying to avoid the backlash ah for, I guess, announcing it kind of this last minute.
Speaker: We only have like, what, like two weeks to go three weeks to go? Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, just, it felt very like, oh, well, this is happening, but here, don't worry. Like, you're still going to get the revenge. And it's just like, more what does that even mean? but are on It almost feels like the boyfriend or girlfriend, like you're afraid to break up with them and you're trying to let them down easy and just like rip the bandaid off and say it's leaving and don't worry about the new ride yet until you have these details. Right, that right.
Speaker: So true. Yeah. Yeah. And the Kumbaa truthers who really want it to be the Hulk treatment, like replace the track. That is like the worst case scenario I can imagine. As we heard about the new Shambhala track, it's terrible. And the ride is already a mid BNM. I mean, upper tier mid BNM, whatever, regardless, like and that that would just make it worse. Yeah.
Speaker: No, it's got to go. yeah It's got to go. This thing is insane to me. It is an uncomfortable B&M. Goodbye.
Speaker: Funny enough, like, Shay was, like, telling me when we heard about it, she was like, we should go, like, just for, like, just for a day trip. But I was like, one, we don't have passes anymore, so I would have to buy a ticket to go in. Two, I really don't think that Busch Gardens will have it open whenever I do decide to go, because I just, it's never opened. So, like, what if I end going through all of this just to get there and then find out that it's closed that's true like i didn't even want to go like i'm only going for this and then i'm just going to find out that it's going to be closed because every attraction is normally closed when you go to bgt yeah i mean that instagram video is the first time i saw a train on kumba running in the past like three years 100 give me an immersive dark ride in its place and i will be happy
Speaker: See, like, that's the thing. I don't even think I could be happy about it because I just feel like that park has been kind of a mess lately. So, like, anything that replaces it, I feel like it will have so much downtime. And I just don't feel like being pissed off about it. So, I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know. But, I mean, who hopefully the Revenge is something worth it, I guess. But i don't know. I'm not expecting anything for the next couple of years, that's for sure. yeah but um But moving on to my spill, um my Joey Javi as well, right? Yeah, Joey, Javi, and myself had a very intense Jenga game at this little like board game cafe in Asheville.
Speaker: i don't even remember the name of it do you guys remember the name? Yeah. We have a picture in it with the name in the background. This line is right over our heads, I'm pretty sure. Oh, is it? don't remember, though.
Speaker: Let me see. Hold please. Is it well played? Well played, yeah. Okay, well played. All I see is like, aid Asheville. I'm like, okay, I think it's well played. But yeah, we were playing Jenga and it got really intense. i'm so I'm surprised that we went on to play that game for as long as we did.
Speaker: it lasted so long. It was crazy. I mean, we set it up on an unstable table and I also didn't like invest that much effort in making it perfect setup and somehow it lasted forever. And the whole like cafe was watching Yeah, and I had a freaking like espresso martini and I guess because I didn't have like the heaviest breakfast earlier that day. Like I was so jittery and I was kind of buzzed from the martini. So I'm like, Oh my god, oh my god, my god. so I thought I was gonna drop it every single time. Yeah, which i I did. I did drop it. I did drop it, but it was a very intense game. So
Speaker: Yeah, i mean, that's pretty much my little spill. it was a fun little game, which will obviously we'll go more into detail um when it comes to Waffleville. but um But yeah, but moving on to thrills, Joey, you hadn't you had an eventful couple of weeks? Week? I don't know how long you were gone for, but you were in Europe up as well. In a couple days, yeah. yeah I went to Italy for roller coasters, which is kind of hilarious because they're not exactly known for having good roller coasters, but hey. Um, we were looking at all the different places, um, that we've already been and Italy has a decent number of parks. So it was a place to go to pick up some new creds.
Speaker: Um, I've already been to Italy twice. So I wasn't as concerned about like hitting the cultural high points. I've been to Rome and Florence and Venice and like all of these cool places. Um, so i was okay with it kind of being a more coaster focused trip. Um, yeah.
Speaker: There's definitely a lot more parks there that we didn't visit that have like, you know, like one or two like really small things, but we tried to hit. The major highlights. um So we flew into Rome and did a lot of driving.
Speaker: ah And we did Chinichitta World, Magic Land, Mirabilandia, Gardaland, Movie Land, and Cavalino Mato. That was the round of... Oh, and we also did Fia Volandia as well, which is a smaller family park.
Speaker: So that was a lot of fun. um i don't really want to go over it step by step. I don't think it's worth it. ah Just give us some highlights. Some of the parks are kind of like, you know, they are what they are.
Speaker: um I guess I can try to answer Mullet's question. um What was your favorite and least favorite park and ride in Italy? um i would say park wise, you know, i i don't know that I had that much expectations for certain places. um I will say my least favorite park, I think just because of the day that we had was Mirabilandia, surprisingly, which has some of the better roller coasters that people would think going in.
Speaker: um They have iSpeed, which is an Intamin LSM-launched coaster. Katoon, which is a large coaster. B&M invert and divertical, which is a very tall, i think the tallest in the world, Intamin water coaster with the vertical lift.
Speaker: And it was a pretty miserable experience, frankly. um First of all, we were there during the latter half of the European heat wave that Kelly has hardy and Tyler have already talked about. um So luckily all of our hotels had air conditioning and I made sure of that before we left. um But it was very hot in the park that day and that was definitely contributory.
Speaker: um But also the fact that they just had a lack of shade. I would describe it as a very Six Flags experience that we had in Mirabilandia. Just lack of shade, like the newest area in the park, you can tell had been clear cut and just no trees and just asphalt put in for the rides. um There were tons of closures. Desmo Race, which is this Maurer Spike coaster, dueling coaster, was closed, has been closed the whole season. Divertical, the water coaster, was closed and has been closed all season and doesn't seem to be opening anytime soon. Their big Ferris wheel was closed. Their dark ride was closed. The condition of the park was not amazing. Katoon was running one train, which is really frustrating for a B&M coaster that normally would have good capacity.
Speaker: Um, so it really just failed to impress on the whole. Um, also I speed, ah has the old style, hard Intamin restraints and not a fan. Um, they beat me up because I'm short. Um, taller people who's like heads stick out above the restraint, I think are probably fine, but,
Speaker: um I can only imagine what Maverick used to be like with those hard restraints. I've only ridden it with the newer soft ones and I would prefer that on iSpeed as well. it was It's still a fun coaster, but I did have to ride it in an annoyingly defensive way to not get like my my neck and head smacked around on it.
Speaker: Um, and then Katoon being on one train again was just kind of like a frustrating experience, just waiting longer than you normally would need to for a coaster with such good capacity like a B&M. It's Katoon was probably my favorite in the park, actually over ice speed, which is kind of hilarious for B&M invert because I'm not exactly like high on those. But, um, there was actually a pretty good one and it was, I thought it was relatively smooth and kind of reminded me like Alpengeist, but with some more intense moments to it.
Speaker: So yeah, Mirabilandia, just because um from an expectations level, it's like one of the biggest parks in Italy and it just kind of wasn't great. ah Some of the other smaller parks we went to, I would say met expectations because they were small and I didn't expect them to be, you know, anything more than they were and they weren't. um My favorite park was Gardaland.
Speaker: which is up in the north part of Italy near Lake Garda. It is actually a Merlin property. um So the same company that manages like Legoland and Alton Towers and some of those places. um It was very well maintained, has like just nice landscaping, really good tree coverage, nice theming everywhere, is incredibly well-rounded. um They have like three water rides, a monorail, a train, ah multiple dark rides. One of them is like incredible um along with their coaster collection, which while they don't have like a, I would say ah exceptional roller coaster there, they do have good roller coasters there. And they didn't really have any of them besides the SLC, I would say that are like terrible. um So like you can have, I think, a really enjoyable day there. And it was a busy day that we were there. um
Speaker: But because the park has so much to offer, and the crowds just spread out very evenly throughout. And we never waited for anything longer than like, I think the longest line we waited for was 30 minutes for the dark ride because it was hot.
Speaker: And everything else was like 15 minutes or less. It was a really enjoyable day. um Really nice park. Highly recommend going out to Lake Garda. um I would also say next to Gardaland was kind of like my second favorite park on the trip, which is Movieland. This park only has one roller coaster.
Speaker: It is a um Invertigo model from Vekoma, which is not particularly good. Um, the first ride I had in it was okay. And I was like, okay, I'd actually ride that again. And then then the second ride bashed my head and I was like, well, that's why I don't ride these. Um, so the, the reason to go to that park is not for the cred. Um, it has such unique attractions at it, um, that are like very immersive. Um, it's definitely like a knockoff version of universal studios and sort of Disney to an extent. Um, a lot of the rides there are,
Speaker: not named something that would infringe on copyright, but are very clearly inspired by, ah you know, certain attractions. Um, but they don't, they, they do some things that like would be an upcharge or just like simply wouldn't happen in another park for free, like included with your park admission, which was only like 40 bucks. Um,
Speaker: and They have a submarine simulator ah dark ride attraction, which was pretty cool and includes like a whole pre-show element where the submarine gets revealed. That was really neat. um They have an attraction where 14 passenger jet boats are driven by stunt drivers through a stunt stadium.
Speaker: Um, and the boat does like a three 60 and like peels out. It's one of the wildest that you all have to wear life jackets. It's one of the like wildest included with a mission tractions I've ever seen. Like you literally, he like backs the boat out and then immediately peels out in this wave of water, just like came over all of us on the boat. Um, I think I, I remember seeing when, um, our friends, Alison, Mollett went there for their honeymoon. I think I remember seeing one of them post about this and I was like, what is that and i saw you very interesting looking yeah fascinating like normally that would be something like i've seen these types of jet boat experiences before but they're normally like not at a theme park and they're normally like 50 bucks a person or something like that to go out and do it and it's super cool to be able to do that as part of a theme park experience and they did have like a little bit of a storyline to it as well like there was this one part where the boat went into like a
Speaker: spoil it too much, but like a dark ride area. And there were things that were happening inside of there before it went back outside and did some of the like stunt maneuvers and stuff. So very cool. um I would highly recommend recommend doing that first if you get there because it is a low capacity attraction and very popular.
Speaker: um Also, this park loves to get you wet. So like everything gets you wet. It's hilarious. Thank God it was a hot day because it felt good, to be honest. um Their newest section is a Wild West section, which was a reskin of some things that they already had. um But it was actually really cute because they did.
Speaker: It was called like Bugs World. So instead of the typical European Wild West, like so many of these parks have a Wild West section, they had like bug animatronics that were kind of running the town. And that was fun.
Speaker: They had ah a fun log bloom there with some really good dark ride elements with all of the bugs like running a mine. um And they had some other flat ride attractions back there. Surprisingly, the log bloom was one of the least wet attractions there. Yeah.
Speaker: And the other crazy one that we there was also like ah a Gravitron um theme to like a space mission. So very similar to Mission Space might have even been more intense than Mission Space. That was pretty cool.
Speaker: um They had an SNS shot tower that was fun, mostly good just for the views of the lake. Gardaland was like that as well. Like as you go to the tops of these attractions, you're just able to see the view of Lake Garda and the Alps in the background. It's just like one of those views, sort of like the top of Shambhala where you get that beautiful view of the ocean and and the city.
Speaker: it's It's kind of like that there where you just it's such a nice view from the top of the rides up there at Lake Garda. What else did we do? Oh, and the other insane attraction is this thing called Magma 2.0.
Speaker: um They use these modified military tank vehicles. um They seat probably about, I don't know, 20 25 people on them. And they drive them around like about out of hell. They have like the really big rubber tires. And so you're like bouncing around and like going down like ramps and stuff. um I had an entire, what do you call that? Oil tanker truck of water dumped on me on that ride. That was cool.
Speaker: Water. Literally like it pulls up to a scene and you just see the water rushing and then you see the oil tanker start to slip down. Next thing you know, the entire back end of the oil tanker opens up and it's filled with water that just comes onto the side of this ride. was like Oh, no. And it just got.
Speaker: completely soaked. oh my yeah That was insane. They also like, they drive it onto a bridge and then the bridge collapses into the water below you. And then they're like trying to drive out of the water and then they pretend like they can't make it. So you're like going up a ramp and then the vehicle reverses backwards and falls back into the water. It's like,
Speaker: There's a lot of stuff on it that's that's pretty crazy. um So yeah, that's another highly unique attraction. um And you also get very wet. ah They also had a tram tour. So like a more traditional, just like Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour. Or do they still do the one at Disney Hollywood Studios? Or do they get rid of that? No, that's where um Galaxy's Edge is now. Yeah. Okay. So they used to do that. Yeah.
Speaker: at Disney. And it's very similar to that kind of thing. They have all of these little scenes throughout um from movies that are nameless, but you can tell what they are. um I actually got a free shot of bourbon or whiskey from Bonnie and Clyde as they came by the tram. They were handing out shots. So it's like this is crazy. Yeah. Yeah, I was like, ah yeah, I'll take one, sure. i wouldn't even have thought that it were real. i'll be like okay, this is just like a thing. i wasn't sure, but she came by with the tray, like little Miss Bonnie's walking out with this tray. And I'm like, that looks like alcohol, sure. And then I downed it and I was like, oh shoot, that was like, yeah, that was real.
Speaker: Javi is playing his game. Literally, it was like a Javi moment with the tray of shots. That was so funny. um And then they had like ah like a tornado simulator, um you know, one of those things where the fire explodes, like all of the kind of behind the scenes movie type things that you're familiar with and have seen before. um But it's it's just cool.
Speaker: ah What else? do Oh, they also had a really unique... jeep ride um where the jeeps are like fully trackless but they are being monitored so like if you try to drive it off of the track it'll stop in reverse and like you keep going but otherwise you're kind of like free to drive it as you like through um this track and that was themed to jurassic park so like there were all these animatronic dinosaurs and then halfway through of course you're driving through and they're like oh no like the dinosaurs escaped you got to drive back to the home station or whatever and so you're driving around um
Speaker: there was There was this guy in front of us who drove too far off the road to the point where, like, he couldn't even reverse. And one of the ride ops literally rode up on a motorbike and, like, reversed it for him and got them back on the track. It was bizarre. I don't know. This park is just kind of wild. Like, the stuff that they do there is not things you would see anywhere else. So...
Speaker: Highly recommend spending some time at movie land, not like one hour to go in and just ride the coaster and leave eve like do all of the attractions because there's so much. Oh, and I completely forgot. ah Chills.
Speaker: They have included with admission a haunted hotel um that is clearly inspired by Tower of Terror because you walk in to the like little lobby area before you actually go into the house part and it looks just like like the the queue of the Tower of Terror, even down to like the banners and stuff that are hanging there.
Speaker: um But this was wild. they made us um They made us stand single file with our hands on the shoulders of the person in front of us the whole way through.
Speaker: And it took like probably 20 to 25 minutes to walk through it. It was super long. um Multiple floors had very detailed theming. There was like...
Speaker: I don't know, just a lot of actors in there. i They got me really good at least two to three times. um And it was very like creepy just because it was so dark. That's part of the reason they had you do the single file.
Speaker: um So definitely recommend doing that if you like spooky stuff. It was just like a... Really interesting park. lots ah Lots of unique things to do there. That park sounds incredible, honestly. Honestly, yeah, I think the same. I was just looking down RCDB and I saw it and like I skipped right past it because why would I care about the single? Exactly.
Speaker: oh It's good to have that extra insight because I already know just listening that I would love this park. like I started listening all the way back in my seat. And I'm like on the edge just listening. park Yeah. yeah yeah Yeah. We all love theming here. So yeah yeah, for sure. And like, you know, it's got like the, the Hollywood street at the beginning and you're walking down it. One of the signs was like a, a cold stone creamier, but it said ice cold instead of like cold stone. It was very like, there were all of these little like goofy things while you were walking through the park.
Speaker: Yeah. But yeah, I'm sure there are people who go and just try to put Gargle Lands Movie Land into one day. which definitely is doable. Like if you don't have time, whatever that's certainly possible, but I would recommend taking the full day for Garterland for sure, because it's such a well-rounded park, do the dark rides, do everything else. um And same thing with movie land. Like we, we didn't spend all day there, but we spent probably from opening until about three, 4 PM there. So like most of the day we spent there just cause there was so much to do and, and interesting attractions to see.
Speaker: um Speaking of Garterland, do not miss the Animal Pirate. I can't remember the name of it now. There's a boat ride, dark ride. The entire land for this boat ride is like a pirate-themed-looking area. And then you realize when you enter the attraction, you start going all of these stairs that you've been walking on the roof of the show building this whole time. It's underground.
Speaker: That was crazy. um But it's incredibly well themed. It just got a reskin like two or three years ago with this animal edition on top of it. It you used to be just kind of more of a like pirate buccaneer type thing. But um they kind of like refreshed it and the sets are all nice and it has projection mapping um and just like everything's functional and and animatronics and everything. It was super, super cool. We rode it twice because it was that good as a dark ride. And it's long too. It's it's like a 10, 15 minute, probably 10 minute ride.
Speaker: um Yeah. So highly recommend that in terms of, let's see, that's favorites and least favorite in terms of rides. I would say, I mean, the rides at movie land or highlights just like the boat, the jet boat and the magma ride, just because of how crazy they were um term. And then the, the dark ride, the dark boat ride at Garter land was also one of the highlights as a non-coaster. For coasters, I would say, um let's see, the top ones that we rode were probably Altair at Chinichita World, which is 10 inversion Intamin coaster that has, like ah Colossus, however, it has modern lap bar restraints.
Speaker: So there's nothing on the top of your body to like hold you in. So the... um like five rolling versions at the end are crazy because you're just being held in by your lap.
Speaker: um And that makes it much more comfortable as well because you're not banging your head around. um They also have a ride there called Inferno, which is a Intamin, what do they call these? Intamin third dimension or whatever they call it. It's similar to 13 basically. um And it's indoor. It has theming to it and it has shocking a drop track just like 13 does, which was really cool.
Speaker: And then the highlights at Gardaland would be Oblivion, their dive coaster. is It's kind of a baby dive, um but it has the old restraints, so and it has an airtime hill.
Speaker: So you get good airtime on the drop, good airtime on the airtime hill because you have the old restraints without the vests. I was really impressed by that. And it's probably my favorite baby dive coaster now.
Speaker: And then they have um Raptor, which is the original B&M wing coaster, um which is very compact, very well themed. um Probably not my favorite. Yeah. I know. I know. Yeah. And this station is very, again, it's kind of like Jurassic Park-y, um which is clearly inspiration. But there's so much in the layout that you like wind through and everything. It was really neat.
Speaker: um Also, surprisingly... shaman which is their loop screw ah like vakoma loop screw it was similarly renovated as to um what's the one called at efteling python uh so they like redid the track so it's smooth and it runs like a bat out of hell it's crazy how fast that thing goes um so we like marathoned it just because i mean Obviously, like in the grand scheme of things, is it a great coaster? Not really. But like it was actually genuinely fun because it was smooth. And it had like this one pretty strong airtime moment, which was fun.
Speaker: ah I think that's pretty much it for coasters to be. Oh, the other one that's like good is um Shock, which is that Magic Land. It's a Maur X coaster.
Speaker: It has a single car that seats six people. So great capacity. Yeah. But it is, i think, the only Mauer ridden that has a LSM launch. So you roll out and then you launch into this top hat, good airtime, strong airtime, go through a couple more elements um that have good forces, another airtime hill.
Speaker: Then you hit the midcourse and after that it kind of dies a little bit until the last roll, which is like a fun hang time roll. um But that was ah that was a good coaster too. That was fun. Let's see.
Speaker: What else did he ask? What was your favorite food in Italy? um It's actually the same as it was back when I went to Italy in 2018. ah There is this restaurant in Rome.
Speaker: Well, actually, it's um very near the Vatican City, which we did go to on our first day. We did some sightseeing in Rome um and spent some time in the Vatican City.
Speaker: It's called Ristorante Arlu, and it has the best pasta carbonara ever. this is the second time I've had it, and it was once again, like, just the best. I can't believe after this many years, it's still that good, but it is that good.
Speaker: um So highly recommend. If you're in Rome near the Vatican, check out Ristorante Arlu and get the carbonara or get the ragu gnocchi because Craig got that, and that was also delicious. Like, the sauce was just so tasty.
Speaker: um Made with real ragu brand sauce? Yeah, because in Italy they do that. No, I'm sure it was made with San Marzano tomatoes, which are the special ones that they have yeah in Italy. Carbonara is so good, but I'm like afraid that like I'm just loving the Americanized version of it. Yes. what i did And I feel like it's going totally different. I'm sure I'll still love it. Totally different.
Speaker: i just i just know it's going to be totally different. Like carbonara in the U.S. is like ah ah like a cream, almost like a fettuccine sauce with peas and ham in it usually.
Speaker: Yeah. Or like, yeah, it'll be like ham most of the time. And not pump and it's normally like so greasy, which I mean, like, I guess I don't mind it. But... Like, i don't know, I feel like it wouldn't be like that over there.
Speaker: It's not at all. Carbonara is a, it originated in Rome, which is why it's a good place to get it because that's like the foundation of that food. But it used to be made in the military. So it was like one of the simplest things they could do. It's literally pasta, egg, cheese, and guanciale. And guanciale is like a pork cheek meat. It's very similar to bacon.
Speaker: um So that's why they always go for that then, I'm i'm assuming. yeah that's why Yeah, that's why they kind of do the bacon because it's similar guanciale, but it's not the real thing. So when you get it, it's like a very, um it's not like a fettuccine Alfredo sauce at all. It's very eggy.
Speaker: um It's very yellow. It's like a bright yellow sauce that's been made also with parmigiano-radigiano cheese. It's just, I don't know how to explain it. It's just so, so creamy and delicious. Yeah.
Speaker: It sounds really good. Yeah. Yeah. Um, let me see if there's anything else to note about some of these parks that I didn't talk about. Um, Cavalino motto. I rode my 900 there or 950 there, um, on freestyle, which is a Togo standup rollercoaster.
Speaker: Um, I've never ridden one of them before. That's why I wanted to go. Cause it was like kind of unique. It used to be at Canada's wonderland called sky rider. And they moved it to this park in Italy. Um,
Speaker: It was surprisingly fun. i was very nervous to ride it because I thought it was going to beat me up. um And apparently, like people who rode the one that used to be at Kings Island thought that one was pretty rough. But I guess this one's in good condition because in the front row, it was kind of like it reminded me a little bit of pipeline, the way that the airtime feels where your feet are literally like flying off the floor. That happened on this ride. And I was like, oh, shoot, this is fun. Interesting. Yeah. um So kind of low-key recommend going there. Also, Cavalino Mono is a park. i
Speaker: but When you look at at on an RCDB of like what the rides are there, you're kind of like, oh, this looks like an FEC, basically. like Just kind of like asphalt and like a bunch of rides pop down. It is like so pleasant. There's umbrella pines over the whole property. So it's like all shaded, lots of landscaping. The rides are themed. like They have this water coaster themed to...
Speaker: Jurassic Park once again they love it apparently um and it's got like actual legit animatronics all over it I was like I can't believe like that this is as well done as it is for such a small seeming park um so I would actually kind of recommend going there we only spent like two or three hours there that's all you needed but it was cute it was fun um also magic land um i talked about shock they have some other coasters they have like a mauer spinner that was actually pretty good um i did do the upcharge haunt attractions there because we got like a free little booklet of goodies and some of the goodies were a free admission to the haunts um so one of them was like a haunted dungeon and the other one was kind of a haunted hotel i think were the two themes um
Speaker: They were interesting. I mean, we went through in very small groups. I think it was like, I actually went through the same, with the same Italians both times. There was like five of us total, I think.
Speaker: um They were very dark. um There were a good amount of actors in there. The scenes were not quite as well done as the one at Movie Land. um But it was it was fun. And they had a ah ah good number of little jump scares in there. And they were pretty both pretty long as well. I was i was impressed. i was like, this is kind of fun.
Speaker: It seems to be a thing there that they kind of like have these horror houses that are around all year instead of just for Halloween. Um, Magic Land is a park also has, um, like a nice setting. It has a lagoon in the middle.
Speaker: um it has some nice theming around. They also have like a, a dark ride, um, that is a suspended,
Speaker: dark ride and it's themed to like fairies and stuff so that kind of reminded me of efteling a little bit sort of like um whatever that one is dream blocked i think it's called um it reminded me a little bit of that and they had some actually really nice theming in there so that's a dark ride worth doing at magic land We were able to see the construction fence for the new Gravity Group roller coaster that's coming there.
Speaker: um I think that's very exciting. It's a big plot of land. i imagine it's going to be a good ride just knowing the kind of layouts that Gravity Group puts out. And so I think that's definitely going to put it on the map for a lot of people. um And it should be should be good for the park, especially capacity-wise.
Speaker: Um, and then Chinachini World, I talked about Altair and Inferno. To be honest, that's really kind of it. Like, it's a movie-themed theme park, and they have some very, very impressive large-scale themed elements. Like, their drop tower is in an elephant.
Speaker: And so you, like, drop into this massive elephant. Um... And their water coaster had very impressive theming. However, we got spited on it because it broke down both times. We tried to ride it with full evacs. So, yeah, that was kind of frustrating. That's not a full-day park either. Chinichitta and Magic Land we were able to accomplish in one day um because they're they're pretty quick to go through.
Speaker: Let's see. What else? um Oh, there's a question for everyone else. What do you think would be your most anticipated ride in Italy? Well, before listening to you, I was going to say iSpeed, but after listening, it's basically anything at the movie park. so say I think a movie park is just like what I really want to check out now. like i don't I mean, I wasn't too familiar with most of the creds over there, but or any of the rides over there, really, but that as a park just sounds awesome.
Speaker: Yeah, it's super unique. Definitely. like If you were only going to go to one area of Italy to do roller coasters, it's Lake Garda. Do those two parks and you're going to have a grand old time.
Speaker: Also, Lake Garda looks... huge Like I was just looking at it on the map. It looks like an absolutely gigantic lake. Yeah, it's it's massive. I mean, it kind of looks like the Great Lakes like up in in our country. and Yeah.
Speaker: um Except it has a much nicer backdrop because the Alps are in the background. It's really cool. Yeah. yeah If we had spent more some more time there, obviously they have like a lot of um ah water-based stuff. You know, you can like rent a boat, you can do jet skis, you can do all of those kinds of things. So I definitely would have liked to have spent some more time there and done those kinds of things.
Speaker: I'm actually on, um, captain coaster right now because i want to make sure i didn't miss any roller coasters. Um, I speed is the number one ranked coaster in Italy on there. um so that would be in theory, the one that you're like excited to go on and cartoon is number two. Um, so I was going to say cartoon when I was looking, i did a tour of RCDB because I don't really know much about the Italy coasters. And I just generally, sorry, Tyler, enjoy VNM invert. Um,
Speaker: And ah I don't know, it it looks like a little bit more sprawling and not as tight. I don't know if that's true. That's just from the RCDV pictures, but you wrote it and I typically like those more. um And I'm also interested now that you've given us your review, lat bar only Colossus, because I actually kind of enjoyed Colossus last year. um so i i would probably like that.
Speaker: I think you would. Both of them. Like, Catoon is definitely more Alpengeist-minded than Batman. It's like much larger elements, and it's got some floaty moments to it. And yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm looking through this list, and the only other one that I didn't mention, which I did enjoy a lot, um maybe just because it's like similar to Colorado Adventure, was Mammoth, which is... saw that. I was going to ask you about that. Yes. um It's a Vekoma mine train at Gardaland.
Speaker: Heavily themed. um Like they built a whole mountain for it and it has three lift hills. And there's like a mammoth. um What do you call that? Skeleton in it and everything. It's really cool.
Speaker: It is definitely not as unhinged as Colorado Adventure is, but you... you can like feel the moments where it would be more, if that makes any sense. So like it does have some bite to it.
Speaker: um And we did ride it more than once because it was a fun mine train and it's probably one of the better ones out there. I don't think anything can be Colorado, but it it was a good time. I love Colorado so much. Same. I love Colorado. It's so fun. I like want to ride it again so bad. I know. Same. I'm jealous that you just got to ride it Only like 11 more months until you do.
Speaker: Yeah. um And then Gary asked what I thought of San Marino. So I did, um that was kind of one of our culture days. We spent some time in Rome and then um my friend Craig loves to collect countries essentially anytime that we're driving through an area that is near a new country. and We take the opportunity to go there. um So we went to San Marino for ah most of a day. It was like a travel day so it it took a while to get out there.
Speaker: um We went to Fia Bolandia first, which I didn't really talk about. Fia Bolandia is a family park. It's um on the coast of Italy near Rimini on the east coast of Italy. That's where San Marino is kind of on the east coast-ish.
Speaker: Um, that park was actually also very cute. Um, there's no like really notable coasters there except for the original wacky worm. Um, it's like a very long wacky worm, nothing like the cloned layout that we see all over the place nowadays. Um, but it's got like the same caterpillar train thing. Um, and it also has like dark ride elements to it. Like there's theming throughout the whole thing. It was, it was actually cute.
Speaker: Um, but again, that was like a quick stop. It was, it was not, super long, um just kind of ride the the four cute little coasters. And then I rode a ah tracked dark ride that they had that was kind of fun and kind of got out of there. And then we headed up to San Marino.
Speaker: Driving there is kind of wild. um If you don't know, San Marino is essentially a city-state that is landlocked, so it's completely surrounded by Italy.
Speaker: um it is not technically part of the EU, but there are no um like borders. it's It's basically an open border between it and Italy. The central city of San Marino is called San Marino. And it's on a hill, like a big one, probably like kind of almost a mountain. And so as you're driving up to San Marino, you see it up on the hill and then you start winding these you know crazy roads to get up there. And then they get narrower and narrower and the winding gets tighter and tighter as you get up there. And we stayed in San Marino. So we were like driving up to our hotel. Yeah.
Speaker: Really, really cool place. Highly recommend visiting. um It, like, historically was built up on the mountain. and You know, a lot of these old cities were built on an elevated territory as a form of defense. And so it has surviving um original walls of the city as well as several watchtowers that are along the walls. And so you can walk... um essentially along the edge of this mountain um and see all of the watchtowers and get these like beautiful views of um the cliff that you're up on the top of and then the surrounding landscape, which basically from all sides of San Marino, you can look out and see the Italian landscape all around you because you're so high compared to everything around you. um And on one side, since it's near Rimini, near the ocean, you're getting a view of the ocean as well. So it's really pretty up there.
Speaker: um The city itself is, you know, pedestrianized. So there's no ah vehicles allowed into the old part of the cities, which is, I love that. I love just like walking around in like a chill environment with just like the winding streets and restaurants everywhere. And that was super cool.
Speaker: um We got some delicious gelato there. we went to a nice restaurant for dinner. um I went out and saw the sunset with the watchtowers and everything. um There also is, not that we needed it, um but if you want to, you can like park down below and there's a gondola that will take you up to the top so you can like get a vista views as you're going up.
Speaker: um But yeah, it was it was really nice. um You can go into the tourist office and get your passport stamped as if you've been to San Marino. You don't really get an official one, but they kind of put something in there.
Speaker: um So that was cute. Yeah, it was it was a really fun time. That was kind of our cultural highlight. Our other stop was, and actually I kind of would recommend this, we we went to a little town on the coast after Cavallino Motto, so on the west coast heading back to Rome, called Talamone.
Speaker: um It's very small, um but it's right on the coastline. There was this beautiful looking beach that I wish I had been able to like stay and spend some time on. But again, it's like kind of elevated. And so it's built on this cliff and you can see the views of the cliff and the beach and everything from above. it's It was really cute. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah And that was kind of the ah coasting with culture moments on that trip, Gary. That sounds amazing. Yeah, it sounds like it was a really good time.
Speaker: It was, yeah. um I would say like for people who are looking for advice um on navigating Italy, having a car for these parks was definitely helpful.
Speaker: um And driving there was... I would say not as easy as Germany. i find the Germans to be just like such efficient and safe drivers. um The Italians definitely drive over the speed limit and will like tailgate you if they're annoyed at you. um And I just like would pull off to the side if it was a one lane road and kind of let the locals do their thing. um But other than that, it was really like pretty easy to to drive there and to get around their motorway system um does have tolls, but it's like very, um the the motorways are well kept and easy to drive on.
Speaker: It's kind of crazy to drive the way that we did because we drove through the mountains essentially on part of this. And it's the tunnels are the longest tunnels I've ever driven in on a road. You're just like, when does this end? Like, where's the anxiety would be through the roof? Yeah. yeah So that's kind of wild. um But other than that, yeah, I mean, I would definitely also recommend, and and this is just kind of in general for Europe, but if you do have a car, you kind of have to like plan for the times to spend time in cities because it can be a pain to like find parking or like find the right spot.
Speaker: um But I still like would not recommend the entire trip staying on like highway hotels and things like that. Definitely get yourself at least one opportunity to like be in a city, um even if it costs a little more because it it makes a world of difference in like your experience of the culture. Yeah, I feel like we you like you're out there, like you're not going to really get all of that like by being out there or it's going to be a whole back and forth. And it's like you might as well just do that. And while there are a lot of parks in Europe that actually are in the city, like we've we've all been to some of them, I think. um In Italy, they're pretty much all on the outskirts. So none of them are in places that are like, besides Lake Garda to an extent, none of them are not in places that are like, oh, I like really want to stay like right here.
Speaker: Right. Nice. I definitely want to go over there. That's for sure. I definitely to check out Italy at some point. I would say before you go for roller coasters, go for everything else. That's what I was going say, because like I kind of want to just go for the culture first. I mean, maybe I'll squeeze in a park or two, but like it'll be primarily you know the culture.
Speaker: Yeah, I highly recommend like Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, all of those places are beautiful. um yeah Rome is not the nicest city in my opinion. um I think it's cool to like go there and see the history, but not to like spend a ton of time there, to be honest.
Speaker: I would get out of Rome and like see see the other parts of the country. Right.
Speaker: Nice. Well... After that, we did have Wobbleville over in um in Charlotte, North Carolina um with all of us. We were all there this time. I didn't miss out. FOMO for me this time.
Speaker: um i did have FOMO for that first day, though. So you guys do need to fill me in on what went down that day. I know there were some pool hangs. I know there were some storms. But but what was up what was up that day? And then how was the ERT?
Speaker: Yeah, so we, um me at least, me and Kelly, we went to the adults-only swim-up bar pool, which was super cool. And then after we were there for like half an hour, everybody else showed up, like probably 20 other people, so that was good. um But yeah, they check your ID before you go in, and then you...
Speaker: Yeah, kind of for no reason because then apparently when you go to the pool bar, you need to show your ID again to buy a drink, which is weird. It makes no sense. They could have given you guys like a wristband and then get in the water. Yes, so I'm in the pool with my credit card and my ID in my bathing suit top.
Speaker: That's ridiculous. Yeah, but awesome concept. I wish more water parks did that. um So yeah, we were just kind of chilling, everybody vibing in the pool.
Speaker: Um, and then a pretty good thunderstorm rolled in. Well, they got everybody out of the pool, you know, lightning in the background, whatever. And we're looking at the cloud. We're like, ah, it doesn't look that bad. And then 10 minutes later, we get like a 60 mile an hour gust of wind. And we're like, we should probably get out of here. That wind was wild. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: I was like refusing to leave because my least favorite thing ever is putting dry clothes on over a wet bathing suit. I was like, no, no it's going to be fine. We're like under an umbrella. I'm just like laying there until like the very last person.
Speaker: i'm like, okay, I guess it, yeah, it's really dark. We should. Yeah. So then everybody kind of splits up. um I just went go get some food and then went back to the hotel to change. And then,
Speaker: It passed after probably an hour and a half or so. They started opening rides back again. And then we met back up in the park at 8 p.m. in the Harmony Hall area just to ah reconvene, get some food, hang out.
Speaker: And then we had a little walk back. Carolin's was very kind to us and took our whole group back behind the scenes to look at Thunder Striker.
Speaker: um which I wasn't super excited about that when I heard about it, but it actually really exceeded my expectations. um They took us... right like underneath the drop which i've never seen that pov before because it's fully behind the scenes um so we got to see that we had a little q and a session with them which was very nice and i'm sorry i don't remember their names but one was like an ops manager and one joey you probably can jack and michael shout out yeah Jack is the ops manager and Michael is a manager in admissions. Okay. Michael. Yeah. Shout out to you. You're not listening. thanks
Speaker: But they were very kind, did a, about a half hour Q and a session with us, answered our questions. Um, of course our first question was what's up with fury. And of course they declined to answer that one, which is completely understandable, but naturally that was our first question.
Speaker: um It was really cool to be that close to a ride that was like operating. Like, I don't know if I've ever been on a walk back that close to a ride that was like currently operating before it was little.
Speaker: Yeah, it's really good pictures from some people, some of the the people that went and they were like really close and like in places that I was like, Oh, well i I don't think i but I've seen that angle before. Yeah, it's pretty cool. And it was kind of cloudy at first, but there was about five minutes where the sun came out and we had some incredible golden hour lighting.
Speaker: um So I know some people got some really good footage and photos at that point. For sure. Yeah. That's awesome. and Then we... cut through to their new log flume construction site, um which that tower is, it looks massive at least. um I know it's supposed to be, I think, a hundred feet tall. They're very early in the construction process, but you can kind of see where the trough's going to be. And then um one of the towers. So that was really cool of them.
Speaker: And then we got to see. Because we were kind of all walking together and I watched you like slowly, like weave your way to the front. What? I was like, you would. Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Had to see that while he was construction. And then, of course, the backdrop was Fury, and Kerouins has the audacity to fully light it up in their lighting package at night while it is completely closed and inoperable, which I think is very rude.
Speaker: Don't tease us like that. Yeah, as I was pulling up that night, I was like, why are the lights on? Like, that's so sad. so sad, but... But we got a little group photo there, and then we headed to Copperhead Strike for the ERT.
Speaker: um Yeah, that's fine. That was probably my least exciting part of that of that extra night, I guess. I preferred the Q&A and the walkback, but I got two words on I totally disagree, but I know that I have an unpopular opinion. i think Copperhead is so underrated.
Speaker: i love it. It's so good. I really enjoyed that ERT. That was so fun. It's fun. I wish I attended and I was there for that part because we on Sunday, ah Scott and I went and I was like, all right, well, I need one ride on it at least. But since it's only on one train ops, like we waited like an hour for that one ride. like I was like, okay. And it was hot. I was like, all right, I'm not doing that weight again.
Speaker: it was nice to get one good ride on it. And that's it. Yeah. Low key, like that was the best thing to have ERT on just because it was on one train and our group basically like the size of our group was very conducive to having an yeah ERT with one train. So like we were all able to get multiple rides if we wanted it in pretty, pretty quick succession. Like the ride ops were doing a good job just trying to like keep it moving for us to to get the rides in. So um it was really fun. I think.
Speaker: I was thinking to myself, like, as it ended, I was like, oh my gosh, that was like so much fun. And then I was reminding myself that I was just in Italy with like no top 25 coaster. And that's part of the reason why I was like, this is like such a fun coaster. But yeah. Yeah. I really enjoyed it. I didn't get to sit in the front row, but I sat in the second row once or twice. And I'm like, wow, this is really good in the front. Like i typically am a back of...
Speaker: train person like I prefer back but it was so good like some of those like whippy moments at the end felt very reminiscent of like what I like in Stardust character wise and I'm like oh yeah I really like this I moved it up in my rankings it's really fun I i enjoyed it i don't know I don't know why you're hating Tyler but I thought it was awesome it's just it's not my style of ride there's too many positives I'm not a positive I was going to say I'm not a positive. You're not a very positive person. I'm not a positive person. See, I didn't really feel that many positives. I don't know.
Speaker: Yeah, it like it has some in the second loop, I would say, and maybe some of the turns. I don't consider it to be a super positive heavy ride, but maybe that's just because it balances out to me. Because you get like hang time, air time, it kind of balances pretty well. that wait Yeah, there is some good air. um I just like speed and like swoopiness which this ride does not really have either of ah that sounds like another ride at that park oh man but yeah i was i was pretty bummed to not be able to do that ert with you guys but but after that i know that we will you know we all hung out well some of us hung out at the in the patio at the spring hill suites across from the park
Speaker: um I arrived like right after or like towards the end of ERT. I think I got there like at like 945 like around there, which weird like The weird thing that happened to me on the way there, i don't know what's going on. I guess maybe it's like a like a Marriott thing. i was talking to Scott about it. He was me maybe it's like Marriott like only allowing people to travel to that hotel like via Uber and not Lyft. um I kept trying to pull up Lyft and it kept telling me like that destination is not compatible with Lyft, which I've never i've never seen that before. And I kept refreshing over and over and over again at the airport until eventually it it showed me like a rate. So like, all right, cool. I click that.
Speaker: And then... once I'm in the Uber or in in the Lyft, the the girl's like, oh, so you're going to like Spring Hill Suites? And then she tells me this random address. I'm like, I don't know where that is. was like, I'm not like, I'm not even familiar with this area, but um that does not sound like where I'm going. i was like, is that the one by Carowinds? And she's like, oh no. She's like, that's like the complete opposite side of like Charlotte. I was like, what? i was like, what the heck am I going to do now? So she was just like, if you can, she's like, if you cancel it, she's like, you can Venmo me, whatever it was going to be. I'm like, cool. I'll Venmo you the amount.
Speaker: And um I made it there without a problem. So got there right before everybody else started to show up. But yeah, after that, had some hangs with everybody for a few hours, maybe an hour or two. How long were we there for, Joey? I know you were there.
Speaker: It was at least two hours. Yeah. I was like, oh, yeah, that's right. I didn't even realize we were there until like 1 Yeah, it was like two and half hours probably. I kept forgetting. Yeah, we were there for a minute. um And then the next morning we were all up and ready to head over to Asheville on our bus that made it on time.
Speaker: 30 minutes early. That was exciting. and what was One of you guys mentioned it. You're like, oh, I know why it happened. It's because we had a woman driving this. That's why she made it on time. It's a woman. That's why she's early. Hell yeah.
Speaker: helea Yeah, man, she got there early. So, you know, we made it, you know, we left on time and um we made it you know our way over to Asheville, which we did run into some rain um when we first got there, which that's where that's when we went over to the board game cafe.
Speaker: And it was the perfect time for it to rain, actually, because we were all distracted with the games. Yeah, it it was like very like cozy in there. yeah I'd never seen anything like that before. And they had a pretty good like menu. They had like, you know, like typical cafe, like coffee and like bakery items. But they also had some like small bites and some food too. And I got hot chocolate, which is typically not what i prefer to drink in July, but I thought it would help my voice. So I i got it and it was really good.
Speaker: and watching It was just like very cozy there. I feel like hot chocolate would have been the way to go with that. Yeah. was raining. Yeah. yeah Yeah. Yeah. That place is cool.
Speaker: I kind of felt bad for the worker though, because we showed up like unannounced with 25 people and she seemed so overwhelmed. And I was just like, sit us wherever you want. Like, I know this is annoying. Please just make this as easy as you can on yourself. And I'd absolutely heard the, the the guy making the drinks, um,
Speaker: um And I don't know if he did the food too, but he was cursing under his breath. I heard oh he was like, I'm so effing annoyed right now. i think it was mostly like a staffing issue because yeah it was only him. and then you had like two other people. You had, you know, the hostess in the front and then you had like um the other guy that was running the food over, which I don't think he made it there until later on. Like, I don't think he was there. Yeah.
Speaker: But they did great. Like, I'm sorry that we did that to you. But yeah, we we were patient about everything, I think, for the most part. And we were just kind of hanging out and killing some time. So hopefully everybody tips them well, because they deserve it. And and what it worked out perfectly, because by the time that we all did get our food and all of our things, like it stopped raining eventually, and we were able to leave the the the cafe but yeah yeah it was a really neat spot you know we had a fun jenga game going on there um and then after that i think we just checked out a couple of the local breweries and then we went to what was the name of the brewery that had the tiki that we met up at later on it was it's actually independent i think is it okay because i was like i don't remember like i was trying to look around i'm like
Speaker: i don't know what the name of this place is. It was in the back of the the High something brewery. Okay. Okay. So yeah, it was like, I remember High, but remember the rest of the name was. High Wire. High Wire Brewing. Yeah.
Speaker: You can tell most of us don't drink a ton of beer on this podcast. Yeah. I just show up and just order whatever I see on the menu, but I was not remembering any names. guys had stuff at Funkatorium though. How was that?
Speaker: That was the first place we went with like the garden vibes and the murals and stuff. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That one was pretty cool. That was a ah neat little spot. That's where they had like the yeah, they had like the little like dog paintings and stuff. Somebody was selling their really expensive dog. Yeah, they had a really nice outdoor space. I mean, a lot of it was like wet. The seats were, but it looked nice.
Speaker: yeah Like I was kind of like, I kind of wish like, i don't know. I've been really big into the world cup this year and they have like, they had certain beers that were from certain countries and you could tell they were doing it for the world cup. And then they had this whole like set up, not in the area that we were seated, but like,
Speaker: the wet area, like the open area where you had like all like a bunch of flags around and you could just tell they have like big viewing, you know, parties and stuff like that there. So I appreciated that. um But yeah, I mean, the beers were good there. i think I tried I just got a flight of like four different beers. I don't keep track of any of the names of what I drank, but they were they were good. um Yeah. Then we went over to Highwire where we all met up for the i wanted to call it the golden tiki but it's not the golden tiki not quite not quite not quite but there was a tiki bar in the back of high wire um which we all met up at afterwards which was pretty cool it was really neat it was a big space i wasn't expecting that back there yeah it was a big space it was very awkward when we first walked in yeah
Speaker: But we got over it quickly. It was it was yeah fun. It was like the highlight of the weekend for me. I mean, you know I love my coconut fruity drinks. so It was really fun.
Speaker: And the drinks there weren't playing around either, right? Not at all. That guy was blowing hard on that liquor. was like, oh my gosh. And then you have Javi, of course, with the jello shots. I'm like, please get away from me. Where did this come from? Javi. I was wondering. I didn't even know this was thing. did you even know that they had jello shots?
Speaker: Javier. He would know. Javier brought them. Watch. They probably didn't even sell them there. He brought them himself. He probably did.
Speaker: But um but yeah that was that was yeah, that was definitely one of the highlights for sure. That was a really neat spot. I really enjoyed it. Funny enough, I think later on ah Scott was like...
Speaker: He was like, man, like I really didn't eat anything today. and i was like, Scott, like you asked me to go buy you a hot dog at High Wire. He's like, no, i I'd never ate a hot dog. What are you talking about? and I was like, yeah, you did. i bought you with the f freaking hot dog. like all you want You said, I just want mustard, please. Just mustard. He was like, I don't remember saying that. I don't remember eating that.
Speaker: I remember him eating that. Yes, exactly. i So Scott, if you're listening, which I know Scott blacked out, cool. yeah Just know that yes, you did have a hot mess. we've all been there.
Speaker: Yeah, it was not no, it was like it was a great time and a great time with Scott, like always. But um but yeah, but besides that, I mean, after that, we did um hang out in the hotel. ah Oh, wait, I forgot one little detail. um Scott and I actually did find ah an arcade, a barcade, which was really cool. it was ah They had a bunch of pinball machines and they had like this really cool bar in there.
Speaker: which we went to before finding you guys over at the Tiki Bar. But yeah, that was pretty neat and pretty like inexpensive. The drinks were pretty cheap and it was like only $10 to go in, which was pretty sweet. ah But yeah, but besides that, we went back to the...
Speaker: to the hotel and we all hung out for a bit. And then the next day, everybody left pretty early for the most part. um I stayed at, I went to Carowinds for a few hours. We were with Chris and Marie.
Speaker: Love them. They're such a good time. hi Chris. New listener. Yes. New listener, Chris. I love that he like, he's listening now, but it was a fun weekend. Joey, Tyler, and I did take a walk in um Asheville. We went like down to the river, which was,
Speaker: okay forgot the river and then walk to the river might have been nicer yeah yeah um yeah and then we walked around town a little bit we got really good new york style pizza shout out birdie's pizza yeah that lady was so nice yeah it was really good but yeah not too much happened at carowinds we were there though I know. That's like what i don't remember. Like I don't, I don't even think about the park when I think of this event. The park was the park. I mean, it was fine. Like it was operating well besides Fury, but yeah. um
Speaker: And then just for the the, for the funny story, like ah several people had planned to go to Fun Spot on Sunday after this event, um since it's obviously near ish to Carolines. I went out there too.
Speaker: I got there. um I knew that the the group of Buzzbars people, like a whole bunch of them were up on the train before me and I sat down in the next train and I was like, all right, I'll ride it now.
Speaker: And the ride promptly broke down. was very confusing at first because I thought that they were on the brake run because they like kept running out. Like the maintenance guy kept running out to the brake run area. And I was like, oh, they're just stuck back there, I guess. um And then they dumped us out of the train and told us we had to leave. And we walked outside and I looked up and I was like, oh, shoot, they're stuck at the top of the lift. So um many BuzzBars, I think it was like six, somewhere between six and eight BuzzBars people got a ah ah free behind the scenes tour of RE Force One by walking down its lift during an evac.
Speaker: ah um And then a thunderstorm was rolling in at the same time. So luckily they got everybody off before anything happened there. But it appeared to be closed for the rest day. So we all just left and I did not get to ride it. Thanks. Yike. Yep.
Speaker: good From the photos that I saw, it looked like they were close to cresting the top of the hill. Yeah, so it seems like there... I think the the train in the station missed its park.
Speaker: And when that happens, then it like opened up the brakes behind it. And then and so it was literally like the last possible second it could stop. It was like, oh no, the block ahead is not clear. And it just stops the train barely over the crest. um Apparently like the...
Speaker: the people who were sitting on the the seat that was further away from the stairs, it was very like felt kind of dangerous and awkward to like get from one seat to the other. But then like getting onto the stairs was fine from there.
Speaker: Yeah. I mean, the staff did a good job like making it happen. they they They went up there pretty quickly to start getting people up. yeah I was just surprised they had to because before that there was a maintenance guy like furiously spinning a key and pushing buttons at the controls. And I guess nothing happened because they're still up there. Yeah.
Speaker: Oh man. Yeah. I saw that when I saw those pictures, I'm like, what? I'm like, this is really happening right now. I was jealous. I wanted a a lift. I know. Right. If I got in there 10 minutes earlier not taking that nap, man.
Speaker: but Yeah. But it was a good weekend. Overall. It was a really fun weekend. um yeah really, really quick little trip, but, um,
Speaker: But yeah, but obviously, of course, I mean, especially you guys, you guys have had big travels in Europe and we're going talk about our top twenty five s because you guys definitely have some ah some new additions on there, I'm sure. And I have a few from my little rendezvous back in May. So I don't know if we even talked about our top 25s on this podcast.
Speaker: I don't think we have. I think we've talked about like our top like vp Gen Houses, but coasters. i don't think we've done it. I think we have, but it's been like over a year that we've done it. Yeah.
Speaker: For sure. but yeah how How do we want to go about this? if we want to just each say 25 down to one? Yeah, think that makes sense.
Speaker: All right, so let me see. I'm kind of sad right now because I know I'm go to change it right after we finish recording because just because you guys mentioned Colorado Adventure and I don't have it there. And I'm like, you know what? I feel like that would be.
Speaker: To be honest, mine is really close. Mine is 29. So. Oh, OK. Yeah. All right. So I guess I'll go first. So my 25 is Tatsu and magic mountain Boo.
Speaker: I love Tatsu. I don't know. i Maybe I won't like it as much when I go back, but I loved it back when we did Straight Outta Stumbles. i I don't know. I think it was mostly like the views I loved, but I'm not normally a big flyer person, but that's like the only B&M flyer that I have on this list.
Speaker: That's fair. yeah Yeah. Who's next? Kelly? My 25 is Phoenix at Knoebels. I've got ride to Happiness.
Speaker: And let me preface this. how I realized this weekend that for some reason I don't have Stardust on this list and it deserves to be. So I don't know where I'm going to put it, but it's going to knock right into happiness off my top 25. So dang.
Speaker: Yeah. Damn. All right. So 24, I have, this is actually a new entry and I don't know if many people have it this high, but I have monster from adventure land.
Speaker: i right Love it. Love that thing. I think it was like, i did I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but I think like the layout was something that I just was like, whoa, was like, okay, this is not what I would have expected from a Gerstlauer. was good time. Definitely a better one.
Speaker: That and time are... For sure. The rest, no. rest yeah Saw, saw the ride. My 24 is El Toro. This one moves so much for me every time I go ride it. Like... Recently, it's been better, so it's back in the top 25. But there was a period of time where it was just getting too rough to like enjoy the airtime that there is.
Speaker: El Doral, 24 right now. 24 Mako. Best B&M Hyper. my gosh. Funny enough, that's my 23. 23 is Mako for me. Okay. My 23, which once my number one for some time, is Steel Vengeance.
Speaker: so twenty three is mayo for me okay my twenty three which was once my number one for some time is steal vengeance It has just fallen off.
Speaker: And my like my very first. OK, so it was my first RMC. So I got back into coasters after having the kids and it was the first RMC I rode. And I was just like blown away because it's so different than anything i had ridden before. But it hasn't been as good since. so My 23 is fly Fantasialand.
Speaker: Also, side note, um Joey does not have a top 25, so that's why he's not listing his right now. I'm lazy and I don't like. Feel free to boo him if you wish.
Speaker: Yeah. After this, we'll post the rest of our top 25s for you to review them in entirety and tell us whose is the best. Yes. All right. So 22, I have Iron Radler in Fiesta, Texas. Okay. I have Thunderwood. Thunderwood. Thunderhead at Dollywood.
Speaker: My 22 is Phantom's Revenge. 21, have Black Mamba. o I have Spooky Siren's Curse, higher than Steel Vengeance, Best Ride Cedar Point.
Speaker: Oh, wild. 21 is Terran. Okay, so 20, I have Skyrush.
Speaker: okay so twenty i have skyru I have at 20 Untamed at Wallaby Holland. And my 20 sticking with RMC is Wildcat's Revenge.
Speaker: All right. 19, I have X2. I have Time Traveler. I have Shivering Timbers. Love that ride. So good. All right. Next, I have Pantheon at 18.
Speaker: I have Taron at 18. And my 18 is Altura.
Speaker: 17, have Fly Fantasjaland. 17, have X2. And i have Maverick.
Speaker: this ah ah Wow. All right. At 16, have Gold Striker. so good underrated okay i mean i have guardians of the galaxy please give me conga next time i have i need to update this intimidator 305 slash pantherion all right 15 have guardians i have guardians of the galaxy 15 for me is hyperion have energy landia
Speaker: My 15 is time traveler. Yes. 10 spots above ride to happiness. quiet Crazy. ah who That is wild behavior.
Speaker: All right. 14. have i three Oh five or pantherian. 14 have fury three to five question mark. i haven't written it in a while. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. um I have Hyperia.
Speaker: all right. 13, I have Hagrid's. Nice. Love Hagrid's. have Voyage at 13. My 13, the first European coaster from this past trip to Tatis.
Speaker: um All right. 12, I have air Force 1. 12, have Voltron. at twelve i have voltron And my 12 is X2. Oof, that's high.
Speaker: That is high.
Speaker: We love that high-down drop here. I was looking at it and I'm like, does that deserve to be higher? No. Whoa. Damn. All right. So 11, I have Renegade, another new addition. Wow.
Speaker: Love Renegade. My number 11 is Wildcats Revenge. And mine is Lost Coaster. What is it? Veloci coaster. I was like, what?
Speaker: I heard lost coaster. I was like, I've been your number one. Huh? Has that ever been your number one? No. Okay. Okay. It was on the top 10 at some point, but.
Speaker: All right. I have number for number 10. I have wildcats revenge. For my number 10. I have iron Gwazi. My 10 is Hyperion. Energylandia. Nine. I have theory three to five.
Speaker: I have Airyforce1 at nine. My nine is Top Thrill Dragster, not to be confused with the very inferior Top Thrill 2.
Speaker: Nine is still wild though. watch I recognize it's very high, yes. All right, at number eight, I have Time Traveler. Yeah.
Speaker: love Time Traveler. My number eight new addition is Tutatis.
Speaker: I have Batman Gotham City Escape. Okay, so I put at seven, I have Stardust Racers, but I have yellow and then I have green for the next one. so Okay, I rank them together, but we'll say say seven is yellow for you. My number seven is Batman Gotham City Escape.
Speaker: My seven is Steel Vengeance.
Speaker: And then Rafa, you said green. is yeah Okay. My number six is, it actually moved up once I was like thinking about it. I didn't initially rank it here last year, but it's a Hyperia. And my six is Airy Force 1.
Speaker: R.I.P. right R.I.P. Five. Five. i have Hyperia. My number five is Velocicoaster. i have Fury 325. Four. Taryn.
Speaker: four i have tarin My number four is Ride to Happiness. Kanda. Top three. all right. So number three, I have Gwazi.
Speaker: My number three after this trip is Kanda switched with Ride to Happiness. My number three is Zadra. Number two, I have Voyage. Sorry about the typing sounds. I know it's probably annoying. My number two is Zadra.
Speaker: My number two is also Voyage. Heyo. All right. And number one is Velocicoaster. My number one is Stardust Racers. I rank them together, but it's yellow.
Speaker: It's better for me. And my number one, Iron Gwazi. Nice. Oh, snap. all right, Joey, whose is the best? I've literally been trying to process that. And you guys threw me for a loop here and at the end here because there are things that I can't tolerate about all of these.
Speaker: Oh, my God. Yes. Okay. I need i want to hear Joey. Call us out. Call us out. Well, first of all, Konda is like wildly overrated by you two. No! That's such BS.
Speaker: It's not that great. So good. Let's see. Like, Taryn being that high is kind of wild to me. um It's probably not even in my imaginary top 25. I just don't imagine it to be that high. um This ride to happiness take from Tyler is terrible. Yeah.
Speaker: yeah i think about I think that for the rest of you also. Yeah, exactly. Well, this, because I was starting to think to myself, I think I'm most aligned with Kelly, but then I realized how low she has Voyage, how high she has Kanda, and that Stardust Racers is number one. And I'm like, nope, I can't vibe with that.
Speaker: so i don't know i might be more aligned most aligned with tyler weirdly even though he has a terrible ride to happiness take i think other than that it's kind of like okay i see this the only other things that are like really throwing me off top thrill dragster being number nine and x2 being 12 x2 wouldn't even like it's no ah Oh, if it might move up next. If I get on it again, it might move up. you I think you're closest to me. If you remove the Stardust racers take, I know that that's not probably probably on the whole. Yeah, I'm closest to Kelly's takes here. i think. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, probably. Yeah. I love that we were able to have Joey just judge us right now. I love that. You guys, it's time. It's time for the best moment of this podcast. Yes. I'm going to perform. It's your time. It's your time. Perform some ASMR. I know you guys can see.
Speaker: Here we go.
Speaker: Who are you? Lil Wayne? What? Wait, can you hold that up again? Because like.
Speaker: Oh, it's not working. Usually it crackles. Fail. Fail. Welcome to the Young Bunny podcast with the lighter flick. I don't know what that was. She lit a candle and apparently it was supposed to crackle and it didn't.
Speaker: so It is the most wonderful time of the year. We are officially really close to spooky season. I actually call August spooky season as well. I lit my horror Halloween Horror Nights candle because usually the wick like makes a really nice crackly sound and it didn't do it at all. So sorry about that. I was really excited do that.
Speaker: I'm going smell some fog over here, baby. Okay. Is it time? Yes. Am I doing it? early you raise your This is you. All right.
Speaker: So let's first talk about a show announcement that we had. Granted, okay, i just want to preface this by saying that the last two years, we had frequent fear pass sales happen the equivalent of last week. so you And it was on a Thursday last year. Best believe I was sitting there at 12 p.m. refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, like nothing happened. But here we are. we got no more house announcements. We're waiting for two more.
Speaker: But we did get a show announcement in a shocking twist. Nightmare Fuel Returns. What? Yeah, this is probably the most shocking announcement in my opinion. Truly. Nightmare fuel blood noir.
Speaker: Embark on a dark musical journey and resist temptation as death-defying stunts lure you deeper into a vampire-ridden metropolis. We are done with the clowns on a clown-themed year.
Speaker: The way it makes no sense. No sense. Like they were telegraphing that it was going to be something completely different. And then we get Nightmare Fuel, which has been seen at a circus the last two years and would be so appropriate to be the circus this year. and it's yeah it's my own Kelly, I have a question.
Speaker: Yeah. I obviously know what this means, but for our listeners, can you just define the word noir? This is not for me, by the way. This is for everybody else. Why? Why are you asking me to do it? i don't know what it means. i love how you just said, like, I'm asking for a friend and it's like... What noir? thought it was just, like, dark and cynical.
Speaker: i thought it i thought it was just like like dark and cynical it So it's it's a reference to film noir. Film noir is, noir is frenchnch French for black. Black. It's easy like film and white, right? Film noir is like, yes, this like stylistic French cinema that's like very dark and like spooky and like, ah it's often like, ah like there's like a crime involved in it.
Speaker: Yeah, it's like. Oh, okay. Like a murder mystery, but like spooky, like, yeah. so It's a vibe. It's like a specific vibe. it kind of like I feel like a lot of film nore iss noir is like what? Like 20s, 30s?
Speaker: Like and I think so. ibes yeah So like a spooky mob type of feel almost? Kind of, yes. so the mars like The mob, yeah. that yeah It's going to be with Vamps.
Speaker: oh Here's the thing. I'm not particularly excited that Nightmare Fuel is back, but I am excited that it's least different than the last two years, even if it doesn't go with the theme. I am excited just because I feel like a a nightmare fuel to me now, just for how long I've been going to HHN is like synonymous with the event. And I feel like I would have felt like it was missing.
Speaker: Yeah. And I was, i was talking about this with you guys. Well, I mentioned this briefly when they first announced it. um I feel like, I didn't want them to let go of nightmare fuel just because, i mean, they had bill and Ted for so long. Granted, I do think that bill and Ted, like it ran its course. I think that was done for, you know, after however many years they did it it just kind of became a little outdated and a little like corny, but I feel like nightmare fuel. Like I think you can stick to that with so many different themes and it's been such a popular show.
Speaker: throughout these past few years that I just, i don't know. i could, I could see them just continuing, continuing with that. You know, they got something good. So why did you, you know? So I don't know. I'm okay with it. i'm I'm happy about it. You know, what comes along with nightmare fuel is the black parade and Tyler's favorite wand dancers. Wands are back. Oh, why did you even remind me of that?
Speaker: ah Yeah. Nightmare fuel is fine. Like I always enjoy it. I do kind of wish they switched it up this year. um But the one thing that I'm a little apprehensive about, there rumors that the fuel go fuel old girls will not be there. i don't know if that's true or not. Cause I know there's a bunch of them, you know, they don't have to just because they're doing one show doesn't mean they can't do two.
Speaker: yeah But yeah. They're usually posting from Orlando by now, like in rehearsals and stuff. Yeah, exactly. So because first show would be in what a month and a half. So yeah, yeah I don't know. That'll be a big loss if they are not there. we'll just have to wait and see. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. So we got that. And then seemingly this week is maybe scare zone announcement week. We had an announcement yesterday and today. so the first one yesterday was Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, which presumably is the entrance scare zone because it includes both jack and odd fellow and in the artwork for the announcement the eye c o and n in the announcement are like highlighted spelling icon and their description is jack and odd phone invite you to step right up and see what horrors hide in every shadow at a sinister spectacle decades in the making sounds very entrance zone like sounds like they're going to be there
Speaker: Sounds fine to me. I'm not like, whatever. i don't i i haven't been at an event with Jack. We saw Jack in Las Vegas, but he's just not his vibe is not my favorite. I do love Dr. Oddfellow, but I'm not big Jack fan, so I'm kind of like, whatever about it.
Speaker: I'm kind of over the Jack like icon at this point. like Now that they have him in Vegas, like I was okay with them just like... let that be his zone or or maybe the future chicago one if it's still happening like maybe have him be the icon at like these new locations because that's like newer to those you know those areas but i don't know i feel like for now like odd fellow is such a unique character and i feel like he's very capable of being like the icon and the star of the show especially for an anniversary year
Speaker: um So I don't know. I'm kind of over Jack, but I get it for people that haven't seen him before that they might want to see how an event is with him. Yeah, I think Jack is fine.
Speaker: My only personal issue, and Joey, maybe you will understand this, but when I think of Jack, I think of Jack from Hallow Scream, who is basically the icon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Hallow Scream, who's like a jack-o'-lantern guy. So when I think Jack, Jack HHN is not the first person I think of. And I realize that's a personal issue, but...
Speaker: It just doesn't make me super excited about him, I guess. Yeah, I don't really know what to think about this one. I mean, we've kind of seen what the entrance scare zones have been in the past. I feel last year's was a little bit better in terms of extending the thematic vibe down the street. And I imagine they'll try to do that again. But they usually don't have that many scares. It's kind of like a photo op-y type situation. So I think that's okay, though, for the entrance zone, especially like introducing the two icons. It it makes sense. um Hopefully they'll be, instead of like up on a thing...
Speaker: where you can't even like really interact with them. Hopefully they'll be like roving. Yeah. Yeah. um And then our other one that was announced today, where this is Tuesday surprise for those of you listening in the future. We may have even more by now, but we are recording on a Tuesday is sideshow of decay. And the description is Cindy's time has come with Dr. Oddfellows dark sorcery. She opened a portal in the carnival's junkyard. Using it to resurrect decayed nightmares from past that are back to haunt you.
Speaker: So i had to look up who the heck Cindy was. Cindy is the daughter of Albert Cain, who was a former icon, the caretaker. And she has been in numerous houses. um She met some untimely death, it sounds like in the history. But The caretaker was determined to bring her back. So he performed this ritual where human souls had to be sacrificed to bring her back. So that was like the theme of one of the houses.
Speaker: um She also has been in Jack's houses before and also welcome to scary. So this sounds like it is we kind of had talked about maybe some scare zones and houses are going to be like odd fellow based and some are going to be Jack based. It sounds like she has some history with Jack, but they're putting her in a,
Speaker: oddfellow scare zone which is interesting um a lot of oddfellow's history like they had a lot of lore about him about ah like immortality and like kind of like keeping things up from the past so it does kind of sound like this bringing back these decayed nightmares and having her in it is kind of interesting um i think it's yeah in hollywood this one is what i saw i So I was reading a little bit on HHN Wiki about Cindy, and I guess she was originally an icon for the Islands of Fear in 2002, but it was scrapped.
Speaker: And I was reading about it. Apparently there were child abductions in the area, I guess, over that summer. in Orlando. So they literally scrapped her and made like the caretaker, the icon that year, which is kind of crazy. That is wild. But I'm glad they're bringing her back in some capacity.
Speaker: Yeah, they did have her. um She had her own house back and I pulled it up right here. She had it back in 2010. um for hhn 20 it was called the orphanage and it was like her backstory which crazy thing i mean i didn't attend this year this was the one this is the one year i skipped out of the the years that i've been and i think there was like an open flame scene in this house um which i thought was very interesting i mean they had it like kind of like spaced out and people were complaining about it being like
Speaker: Like really like, Oh, like, Oh, like you guys said, there's like an open flame and that's all we get. Like, uh, yeah, you guys are in a haunted house. Like there's no way they're going to like light it on fire, like entirely.
Speaker: Um, but yeah, but that, I know that was the last time that well, she's had other appearances, but that was the one time that she had like her own house. Do we think this is going to be decayed nightmares from the past? Is that referring to like only icons or are we just going to see a bunch of like costumes from previous years in this area?
Speaker: I think we might have some previous, I think for sure we'll have like the caretaker there. I would hope so. I remember seeing stuff about the caretaker back when I used to follow HHN like a long time ago and never ended up going. But he was a kind of a spooky character.
Speaker: I also like the idea of it being in the carnival's junkyard as like a set design because just having like random characters from the past popping up, just like how do you tie that in? I think that's a decent tie-in and kind of like a neat yeah way to put some props out there.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, it does fit with like the I was thinking back to the spec map. This is where they had like the 25 at one point with like all of the so it seems like a throwback zone, which makes. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I guess we'll see. I tend to I've realized when I was thinking about scare zones today, I feel like I tend to like scare zones more based on their location.
Speaker: versus like what they actually are like I tend to prefer Hollywood and Central Park scare zones to any other location like the New York ones it's just and we talked about it being so like vast and wide open it's just like better for me when it's kind of closed in and darker so yeah I'll see what ends up happening but definitely but yeah I mean I think like I'm excited to hear about these zones I mean they sound interesting but like you said I think it's It's hard for me to get excited for some of these first some of these like zones just because of the location. like Sometimes I hear like, oh, like like I might think that like you know Sideshow of Decay is going to be a a crazy good scare zone, but then I hear that it's in New York, which is not the case. But like if I were to hear that it were in New York, it would like water down that excitement. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I get it. Yeah, stay tuned for our hype lists about everything once we get the final reveals. We'll work on that. um I was just looking back at Discord to see if we got any last minute questions. C-Pred ah said, make sure you talk about Hellraiser. And sorry to push off your questions all the time, C-Pred, but I don't think all of us have seen it. I know Rafa has in the past and Tyler just watched it and I watched it. Joey, have you seen Hellraiser?
Speaker: No. So we will talk about Hellraiser a little bit more in the future as we prepare for the event. But yeah, I, spoiler, thought it was weird AF.
Speaker: I love it I couldn't really see it as a house, but Tyler has the complete opposite opinion. So we'll have something to discuss after Joey watches. Okay. i need to watch it. It's on Amazon. So, or somewhere I found it. So i was like, okay.
Speaker: Maybe next time, and then we'll have probably multiple other scare zones to talk about and maybe another house or two. I didn't realize that they had released a new spec map on like June 26th or something. is that what this is dated?
Speaker: Yeah. didn't realize they released one like this late in the game. so Yeah, I didn't think so. Is it the same thing? it's the same thing Well, for the most part, yeah, but they have like a lot of the houses filled in. They didn't have Hellraiser at the time because that was announced afterwards. But they still have the like Ozzy Osbourne I don't know what it's going to be now, but like the the hand in FNF and they have the book in And then the scare zones are like, I think those are all the same symbols that they have been. Yeah. seems like it's just the same map just filled in with the ones that we already know. Yeah, it looks like ah nothing really new. That banana is still there. And if that's, what is it? Fort nightmares? Is that what that speculation is? I'm curious. I forgot about that.
Speaker: but yeah, we definitely have to start watching the Hellraiser movies. I know there's three of them. They mentioned the the trilogy in that description. So probably should watch that sooner then later. But yeah.
Speaker: But yeah, and besides that, do we have anything else to add before we say goodnight? Going back to the top 25, just want to say the most egregious thing is that Phoenix is in Keltz. my god, I knew you were going to say that. yeah What is that?
Speaker: No. It's so good. It's a global fast of airtime. Joey knows. Yeah, it's the best. I'm not mad at that take at all. It's probably going to be in the top 25 I have to submit to the Golden Ticket Awards.
Speaker: which I just realized I have to do. That's so funny. Oh my gosh. nice find All right, guys. so make sure you follow us on socials and and we will post, we'll make sure to post our top 25s and you guys can tell us who has the best and I guess the worst top 25. But, ah but yeah, but of course, as always, and stay spooky and thank you for listening.
Speaker: Hi. That's tea, actually. you
