Introduction to Podcast and Episode Editing

00:00:00
Danny Price
hey everyone. Welcome to the Table Talk Discussions podcast. My name is Danny Price. I'm recording this episode a little bit last minute, a little bit on a whim. i was editing the podcast that we did this morning. Me and Shane recorded a podcast this morning, episode 30. If you haven't listened to it, please go check it out.

Considering a Quick Podcast on Resources

00:00:18
Danny Price
And as I was editing it, I was putting in the description just some resources of other podcasts that people could check out to kind of go over a you a little bit in depth the process of canonization and the early church. And as I'm putting these podcasts in, I started thinking to myself, man, maybe...
00:00:34
Danny Price
It would be beneficial and helpful if I made a quick podcast just notating the resources that I have and the resources that I use um just for things like this, topics like this, the people that I'm listening to that I'm being fed from in addition to Mountain View.

Power of Podcasts and YouTube in Gospel Teaching

00:00:50
Danny Price
And I thought maybe if you guys are in a place where you're enjoying listening to podcasts and you're wanting to check out other resources, I think it'd be really cool just to kind of give you guys a place to start. So I want to just take a second first before I give you guys this list and just talk about a few things. First of all, number one,
00:01:08
Danny Price
um I'm a huge believer in podcasts and YouTube channels and you

The Balance Between Media Consumption and Bible Study

00:01:12
Danny Price
know all this stuff. I think it's fantastic that we have media to be able to kind of just disperse the gospel and just disperse really good teaching really easily nowadays. I think it's a really big blessing. um And it's's I think it's a heavy responsibility for people that do that.
00:01:27
Danny Price
um I do think, however, that there is a little bit of a drawback simply because as Christians who are interested in you know theology and all these kinds of things, we can become very consumer and consumer-centric focused. So instead of reading the Bible, instead of going to the local church, we can we can just...
00:01:48
Danny Price
you know so to speak, eat, eat, eat, all this other stuff and have that be part of our daily diet. you know I listen to the so-and-so podcast and then so-and-so podcast and then so-and-so so podcast, but I'm not actually feeding myself with the word of God and I'm not actually surrounding myself with believers at my local church. So really just want to say, if you are Looking into listening to these podcasts or looking into other resources, I would first say, make sure that you are reading your Bible for yourself, that you are studying God's word, not just reading a minute or two each morning, but that you have time to study God's word.
00:02:21
Danny Price
And then also that you are part of a local church. I know a lot of people listening to this podcast go to Mountain View Fellowship. If you're not going to Mountain View, I hope you're going to another church that you know is a local church that you can really pour into, that you can be part of that community and part of those believers. I think it's very important. I think scripture is completely explicit on what it looks like for a Christian to follow Jesus. And I think part of that is living in community and being with people

Sharing Influential Podcast List

00:02:44
Danny Price
in the local church. I think we see that very clearly in the New Testament.
00:02:48
Danny Price
So for those of you who are already doing that. I do have a list and I'd love to share with you guys the people that I listen to, the people that I think have really impacted me that I, I wouldn't say I steal their ideas, but I would say I take a lot of what I believe and what I think from a lot of these teachers and people that have really expounded a scripture and really pushed me to know God more, to love the Bible, to think biblically.
00:03:11
Danny Price
So I'm going to bring you guys this list. A couple of things just about this list that I want to preface. Again, lot of intro, sorry. um Preface number one is none of these people, I would say I subscribe to their entire theology or entire way of thinking.
00:03:25
Danny Price
i I don't want to say I take bits and pieces. That sounds almost a little little odd, but I do take bits and pieces. There's certain people where I really respect them for certain areas of their faith, and there's other areas I i don't know anything about them. um Someone might be really good with history. I don't know how they are in terms of practicality. Other people are very practical and very like, here's how you should think about this issue, but they don't talk as much about history.
00:03:47
Danny Price
So um none of these people I would say is like the end all be all teacher. And I strongly would think that they think the same way too, that they're not saying I'm the end all be all. You should only listen to me. think all these people are very, um have a very good you know level of integrity.
00:04:03
Danny Price
And biblical thinking, and they're not just saying, I'm the one you should be listening to, and nobody else. Nobody really says that. um I just want to let you guys know, if you listen to one person, you're like, I don't know if I agree with him. I can't believe Danny agrees with everything that guy says. Just so you know, I probably don't. There's probably things I don't agree with. I know for a fact that there's things I don't agree with on almost every one of these people in the podcast list. However...
00:04:24
Danny Price
A lot of these people are great teachers. a lot of these people really love the Lord, really are looking to help their audience grow their faith with Jesus and to not just to go deeper with him, but to love God's word more and to let it impact their lives fully.
00:04:37
Danny Price
Um, the second thing is I'm going to read you guys this list to kind of just let you guys know, who the person is that does a podcast, the podcast itself. And then a little, I'm going to give you guys a little blurb description about the podcast, just you can kind know what you're getting into. There is no order to this list in terms of ascendant. So I'm not going to start low and then work up high or start high and work low. I'm just going to kind throw out names as I see them and how I wrote them down. If I specifically have a YouTube or a podcast channel that I really, really, really like, I'll let you guys know as I'm describing it, like, hey, this is, I really highly recommend this. And I don't say that, I mean, I say that about all these, I highly recommend all these, but there's some that I'm like, I really, really think that if you're gonna start somewhere, you should start with these people.
00:05:20
Danny Price
um And then that being said too, I wanna be careful. I'm sharing this with you guys and this is kind of like my feed on Apple Podcasts. I do not listen to all these people every single episode, every single day.
00:05:34
Danny Price
i don't think it'd be possible to do that. I don't think anyone has that amount amount of time in their day. And it's probably unhealthy if you're just taking in that much information. I don't think you would even process what's being said. So by no means think that this list is...
00:05:48
Danny Price
I'm listening to, you know, Danny is listening to these every single day, 24, seven, three 65.

Introducing Mike Winger and Bible Thinker

00:05:54
Danny Price
I've listened to every single one of their episodes. That's not the case. There are certain people I listen to more often than others. And, you know if I see them uploading every week, I'll probably listen to their episode. There's other people where it's like, if I get a chance to, I'll listen to them every once in a while.
00:06:07
Danny Price
And they're still great. I'm just letting you know kind of that's where that's where it lines up. So don't think by any means that I just sit sit here just listening to podcasts and taking in theology media 24-7. That is not the case.
00:06:21
Danny Price
That's not the case at all. So with that being said, I'm going to jump into this list. And again, this is my list. I know everyone else has their own list. I know Shane has his own list. I know if you talk to anyone at the church, they're going to have different people that they really enjoy listening to at pour into them.
00:06:36
Danny Price
This is just the fallible list of what Danny enjoys listening to in terms of podcasts. And I think you might too. All right. So the first one, no surprise for those of you who know me is Mike Winger and he has the Bible Thinker podcast. So for those of you who don't know Mike Winger, um he's a middle-aged guy. He's a white guy, just very vanilla, very nerdy. He's hilarious. Just if you watch him on his YouTube channel, he looks like your classic, just middle-aged dad, white guy. um His name is Mike Winger and he is from California.
00:07:06
Danny Price
He used to be a pastor and kind of stepped down. he's i think he's still you know an elder or has some kind of you know teaching role at the church that he that he attends um to a certain capacity, but he's not a pastor. He's not on staff. He doesn't like teach regularly.
00:07:20
Danny Price
And he's kind of devoted himself to this online ministry that he has. And so I think that's mostly why he stepped down because I think he had a pretty big calling on his life just to bless people around United States and around the world.
00:07:33
Danny Price
um he's He's done a ton of different teaching videos, even back to when he was a pastor. So if you want to watch him teach through things, he does a great job. I think he's very plain in English, very easy to understand. He's not someone that's high and lofty. he He makes it very accessible for people. He does a great job teaching. He's done a bunch of different series on different topics. He recently did one on women in ministry.
00:07:55
Danny Price
which was probably the most extensive podcast I think anyone, or series, I guess, on YouTube that anyone's ever done on women in ministry. I think it was like 36 to 40 hours long. That spanned over 11 episodes that he did. Some of the episodes are incredibly long. And he just breaks down women in ministry and every possible argument on both sides of the debate. Very, very interesting. would highly recommend that to you if you're just curious about that. One of his best things I think he does is every week he has Q&A podcast. And this is where I think I really, really highly recommend to you to listen to this specifically is this Q and a video that he does or his Q and a podcast. It's just, it's streamed live. So people can actually live type in questions during this episode that he records.
00:08:39
Danny Price
And the first question he does is always like a pre, um, a pre thought out question that he comes up with, or he has someone else that asks him that he takes more time on. And then the other nine questions are all live questions that he just answers right on the fly. Um, the cool thing about him too, is that he also has a website where you can search all the previous videos and all the previous Q and A's by topic or by keyword. So if you're like, Hey, I want to know about, I'm trying to think, um,
00:09:04
Danny Price
David in the Old Testament, for example, or I want to know about Ephesians 5, or I want to know about whatever it is. I mean, you pick it. He's going to have most likely a video on it or a video that's somewhat like that. So this is a great opportunity if you're just looking for you know someone that could answer a tough question that you have, or maybe even potentially has already

Gavin Orland and Truth Unites Podcast

00:09:22
Danny Price
answered it. Mike Winger is a great guy.
00:09:25
Danny Price
Right now, he's a little bit on this um exposure kick where he's exposing some of these really abusive pastors and leaders in the Christian movement um that have kind of gotten away with some really tough, not just like sexual, but also spiritual abuse in the past. And he's kind of like a watchdog for that right now. um He's getting kind of national exposure because of this. um He recently just exposed someone that...
00:09:48
Danny Price
was kind of a false prophet and was data mining things off of Facebook and then going into an event and taking that stuff that he had learned from people's Facebooks and pretending to prophesy over them. And they were all amazed. And it's like, you know, street names and their names of their pets and things they wouldn't have known. And he's, you know, this guy was prophesying, fake prophesying this. And so Mike Winger and a lot of other people have been calling him out. And he made a big video about that, that really got him kind of national spotlight recently. So you might've already been hearing about him.

Recommended Apologetics and Cultural Issue Podcasts

00:10:16
Danny Price
um i That's not my favorite thing that he does. I really love how he teaches through things. And so if that's not kind of like like your bread and butter to hear about heresy and people being called out, that's fine. That's kind of his most recent videos if you look through his channel, um aside from his Q&A videos. But just so you know, he does have great teaching videos. I think he's planning on getting back into that. He's been going through Hebrews. He took a break from it. and He's going get back into it soon. So that was a long introduction for him. But again, Mike Winger, great guy. Love him.
00:10:42
Danny Price
The next guy want to mention is Gavin Orland from Truth Unites podcast. So Gavin Orland is a pastor. i think he's a Baptist pastor in Nashville, Tennessee. I can't remember the name of his church that he pastors.
00:10:54
Danny Price
but gavin Gavin Orland has a huge heart. Excuse me, going to Gavin Orland has a huge heart for just the history of Protestantism and the history of the Christian church all the way back to like the early disciples. Yeah.
00:11:09
Danny Price
um I have never seen someone with as again with as clear language and very easy to understand be able to break down just some of these really complex thoughts that the early church fathers were having.
00:11:23
Danny Price
the debates between Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity and and Protestant Christianity. Um, he does a great job at just laying all this out, laying out the process of canonization, laying out the process of how the church grew and how the church formed. Um, if you're interested just about specifically history and you know, how that also affects today, i would really say Gavin Orland is just a fantastic channel, um, to to listen to. Um,
00:11:50
Danny Price
He is, like I said, again, all these people, they have YouTube channels and they have podcasts. So it's kind of like they kind of have both. And so I listened to the podcast because usually I'm driving or doing other things. But if you wanted to watch videos, he has all his podcasts as videos, too.
00:12:03
Danny Price
Again, this is it. So him and Mike Winger, I would say I would really, really highly recommend for you guys. Gavin Allen is just a fantastic guy. You can just tell he has a really heart for the Christian movement, heart for other people, even people that he would disagree on, on, you know, third rank or secondary issues.
00:12:19
Danny Price
um he has a huge heart for the christian the Christian movement. So really cool to see that. Really cool to hear him and listen to him talk. Highly recommend him. um The next guy I would recommend to you guys is Wes Huff. If you have never heard of Wes Huff, he's getting a little more recognition. He was on the Joe Rogan podcast and was able to kind of really just bring out the gospel to Joe Rogan, which is really cool. But Wes Huff has a podcast called Apologetics Canada. So if you search Apologetics Canada on your podcast app or YouTube, you'll see it.
00:12:46
Danny Price
I think he also has his own YouTube channel you can just search for individually. Weshoff is an apologeticist, but he's also a historian. He goes over so much just deep, the deep richness of words, etymology, history, tablets, manuscripts, just all this stuff that, you know, why we believe the Bible, why the but why the Bible is true, why we can trust the Bible.
00:13:09
Danny Price
It's really interesting just to hear him talk about these things that are way over my head. He is an incredibly smart guy. Again, very humble too, very, very, ah thought provoking and just seems like a very down to earth person. Doesn't seem like one of those people that's like, I know so much more than you do. Very easy to understand, which is again, you'll see this as a common theme for me. I really love people who are smart and still make themselves accessible and understandable to the comp person.
00:13:32
Danny Price
Um, So again, Wes Huff, if you're more, again, more interested in history and apologetics, the Apologetics Canada podcast has more than one host. It's not just Wes Huff. So you might get an episode here and there from somebody else, which again, all those other guys on that podcast are amazing as well.
00:13:48
Danny Price
Next podcast I want to mention is the Sean McDowell podcast. He has what's called the Sean McDowell show. So Sean McDowell is Josh McDowell's son. who is an apologeticist, and Sean McDowell also is an apologeticist for Christianity.
00:14:02
Danny Price
He specializes more, I would say, just from my listening to his podcast on kind of topics that range from ah why we're a Christian, why we believe what we believe, how science and how history line up with the Bible, a little bit more of like defending your faith. He also talks about some common um cultural issues that we're all facing right now as Christians and how we can...
00:14:24
Danny Price
combat those or how we, how we deal with these cultural issues that are around us and how we engage with the world as a Bible believing Christian. Highly recommend his channel too. um He's a, he's a sweet guy and you can just tell again with his heart, he really cares about the body of believers.
00:14:38
Danny Price
um Next podcast, a little bit different is his name's Kevin DeYoung. And he has a podcast called Doctrine Matters. Kevin DeYoung is a Presbyterian minister. I want to say he lives out on the East Coast. I can't remember quite exactly.
00:14:52
Danny Price
But Kevin DeYoung, know, again, more Reformed. He has a you know more Reformed theology, which is really cool to listen to. you You'll notice as I keep going down this list, I don't... um Listen to just one type of content creator, and I don't think any anybody should. I think it's very important that you're taking in a variety of

Systematic Theology and Kevin DeYoung

00:15:10
Danny Price
people.
00:15:10
Danny Price
Now, I would be hesitant to say you should take it anyone that's you know not teaching sound Christian doctrine. I don't think that's a good idea. If you're teaching sound doctrine, but you're dividing over secondary issues, I think that's a good place to start is, you know, listen to someone who's an Arminian.
00:15:28
Danny Price
Listen to someone who's a Calvinist. Listen to someone who um maybe you might even be a charismatic, but again, really strongly believes in the Bible, as long as they're not putting experience over God's word. Listen to different people that have different perspectives on things.
00:15:42
Danny Price
um I think it's very healthy. I don't think you should be listening to heresy, so don't listen to someone that doesn't believe that the Bible is God's word, for example. But I think it's okay, and I think it's good to find different people that you might disagree with or might even not 100% line up on every single... you know possible part of theology. But again, that pushes you to hear other perspectives, see her other ideas and thoughts. So for example, one of the things is like Kevin DeYoung as a Presbyterian, he believes in infant baptism. And I'm not sure where I stand on that. I don't think I believe in that.
00:16:10
Danny Price
However, again, him being able to defend that and talk about that, it's really cool. And I really enjoy his perspective. Um, So his podcast specifically focuses on his book, which is right now, at least is his it's focusing on his book, which is daily doctrine, which I have. And I love that but that book was gifted to me and has been fantastic. It's almost like a daily devotional, but it's more of a smaller condensed systematic theology that you can kind of read in smaller chunks. It's not meant to be like a daily thing. Like on January 1st, you read this chapter. It's not like that. It's,
00:16:39
Danny Price
just kind of a more so shorter blurb that works you through a smaller version of a systematic theology. for those of who don't know what that is, that's really just a building blocks of theology. So you start off with like truth, who God is, what is, you know, what is God? How can we know God? And you start working your way down from those really, really big, important blocks all the way down to the smaller things that aren't as quite important, but you still need to find out where you sit on.
00:17:05
Danny Price
So he just takes each episode and just goes through one of his, I wouldn't say a chapter. It's more like a little small section of his book. I love this podcast. This is a fantastic podcast, especially if you're kind of introducing yourself to what a systematic theology might be. This would be a great place to start.

Josh Howerton and Cultural Discussions

00:17:21
Danny Price
Um, The next podcast I'd recommend to you guys is the Josh Howerton live free podcast. So Josh Howerton, he is a pastor of a really big church called Lake Point. I think it's probably classified as a mega church and it definitely has that feel. He's definitely a higher production quality. um You can just tell what the way the show is ran. I mean, they're doing giveaways and they have ads. It's very like, it's a thing, right?
00:17:43
Danny Price
Um, very different than like this podcast, for example. Um, I love what they do. He has himself and usually some of the pastors from their church sit down and they discuss the message. I think they usually do it Sunday right after it's fresh, um which is not where we got this idea for our podcast, but I have actually used their podcast for kind of some sparks of ideas of how to talk through the sermon a little bit better than I have in

Verity Podcast and Historical Insights for Women

00:18:06
Danny Price
the past. So love their podcast. He usually does sermon recap, and then he usually takes a cultural issue after the sermon recap and kind of unpacks that. So like recently they've talked about things like ICE, immigration, um abortion, homosexuality, you know, whether or not Jesus was progressive, stuff like that. So if you're interested in kind of a little bit of both and they're a great podcast to listen to.
00:18:29
Danny Price
Um, next podcast that I would recommend after that is the Verity podcast by Felicia Mason Heimer. So Felicia Mason Heimer, um, she wrote the book, every woman, a theologian. She also has, a bunch of different resources for women and for kids and for men, honestly.
00:18:44
Danny Price
she gears a lot of her stuff towards women. And I gotta be careful because I don't, I wouldn't really necessarily call her like, and even her books are not necessarily only for women. I think she has a primary heart for women and that's kind of what drives her ministry. But men in all kinds of,
00:18:59
Danny Price
um Christians from all different walks can benefit from her material. um She's laying it out. It's not like this, like, here's how to be a Proverbs 31 woman. It's like, here's how to study the Bible. Here's how to fall in love with God's word. Here's how to dig into our rich history of Christian, our Christian roots. So,
00:19:15
Danny Price
I would recommend her. um She took a break for a long time is just kind of get back getting back into the swing of things with podcasting. But if you look back at her older episodes, she does a great series on the history of the early church that I loved. I think it's like four or five episodes long.
00:19:29
Danny Price
um I actually linked to that one in the previous video. I linked that in the description, one of the videos from or one of the podcasts from that series. If you're just curious about like, hey, what's the order of things? Like I kind of get, okay, so there was the apostles and then there was like a bunch of years and then there was a reformation. And then now we, now here we are. If that's kind of your view of Christian history, man, take a look at her videos. Same with Gavin Ortlund too. Both of them are just like, they just unpack these things and these church fathers and these thoughts and the heresies that the churches were fighting against way better than I ever could. So I really, really enjoy listening to them.

Confronting Progressive Christianity and Cults

00:20:02
Danny Price
um specifically again, Felicia Mason Heimer, especially if you're a woman. Again, i would say if you're a woman listening to this podcast, Every Woman a Theologian is a fantastic book. Highly recommend. The next podcast, another lady is Alisa Childers.
00:20:16
Danny Price
I think it's how you say her last name, Childers, Childers. So Alisa Childers does the Alisa Childers podcast. She also has a YouTube channel and she's a little bit of a different creator. She's more of a watchdog of bad theology and heresy. You listen to her and she really is confronting progressive Christianity, progressive theology, um people that you know would say the Bible is not really God's word. We're not really sinful, just heresies that we're facing as a church nowadays. So she's kind of a watchdog and kind of combats those those thoughts. Very interesting. A lot of her podcasts are geared towards that.
00:20:49
Danny Price
She also does another podcast called the Unshaken Faith Podcast with Natasha Crane, who's another Bible teacher. and does has it her own channel. And they, again, are unpacking how we as Christians should live within culture that is not Christian, then also how we can call our Christian brothers and sisters to a higher standard for those of us that might be falling into different heresies or cult-like beliefs or things like progressive Christianity.
00:21:14
Danny Price
Again, very good. Love her podcast. um Similar podcast is the Melissa Doherty podcast. If you've heard of Melissa Doherty, she, I believe it was New Age, that she was really sucked into...
00:21:26
Danny Price
back when, before we she was a Christian, she came out of that and then has a really big heart for people that are still stuck in new age or new thought beliefs. Same with any cult, really. She has a lot of people and she interviews a lot of people on her podcast that or were previously Jehovah's Witness or LDS or certain people that have been in these different religious systems and kind of their journey out of it.
00:21:45

Really interesting to hear her talk and just hear her especially share her her story of coming out of new age and all the things that she had to deconstruct from new age as she came into Christianity. Very, very cool.

Highly recommend her podcast as well. New podcast my mom introduced me to that I've loved so far. i've listened to a few episodes is the Knowing Faith podcast. And that's by Jen Wilkin, JT English, and Kyle Worley. They do a little shorter, more bite-sized podcast, more like eight to like 20 minute kind of episodes.

And they're doing things more on, I would say, tricky topics. Things like what happens when animals die? How can I know that I'm saved? What are the differences between Calvinism and Arminianism, like in a shorter condensed version? If you're curious about those kinds of things, this is a great plot great podcast to start off with some like a little bit more bite-sized stuff.

um Kind of in that same bite-sized category is another podcast called The Gospel for Life. The Gospel for Life is four Reformed, I think there's two Baptists and two Presbyterian, or maybe it's three Presbyterian ministers. that all they all live in the same area in Treasure Valley, Idaho, and they all pastor different churches, which I think is so cool how four different pastors come together, and every single day, nearly every single day, they do a podcast. It's like really short. It's like five, eight minutes, and they do a podcast together just talking about theological topics. Specifically, they work through series of ah of an idea. So right now, they're working through a systematic theology together. They've also done podcasts on...

Thanksgiving, on Advent, on the you know the purpose of why Christ came, on the Belgic Confessions, and the Westminster Confessions. If you're interested about like that as a topic, they'll do 10 episodes in a series where each day they just really quickly break something down and then move on to the next day. So it's not it's not too long. It's very easily digestible. i would recommend that for you guys, especially if you only have a short drive in the car.

Ruslan KD and Engaging Young Audiences

And again, Reformed theology, a little bit different than maybe what you're used to, but again, great listen great to listen to. um The last podcast I'd recommend, at least for now, I know I have more that I listen to, but like this is kind of my list that I had, was um the Ruslan KD podcast. So Ruslan is, his last name is Ruslan, I'm going to butcher this, Kargolenov.

cargoleoff So he's from Armenia, so not Armenian like Armenia and Calvinism, but Armenia. um which is a country. And he immigrated here. His parents immigrated here when he was very young. He it was a Christian rap artist or Christian hip hop artist and definitely looks like it. i mean I mean, he's a white looking guy, but he's got like the gold chain and kind of like the clothes and everything. He's a lot more with it and a lot more,
00:24:17
Danny Price
I don't know what what you would say. How would you how would you word that? he He dresses like he's a millennial or like he's in it and you know in the industry. um He's gotten a really big following you know over the past few years, especially from a younger audience. um I really like him. I think he's got a really really great heart. And his podcast, I mean, he has access, to so again, because of the industry, he's really interviewed some huge...

um different people that are some Christians, some not Christians, some people would say that are heretical Christians. And he kind of puts them on the spot and really asks them these difficult questions. I really like listening to him. He also is, I would say a very solid Christian. I've heard him debate different people. He's had different people from Orthodox Christianity, from Catholic Christianity, from um Latter-day Saints. He's had different people that he does not agree with and kind of debated them on his podcast or on his YouTube channel and does a great job just kind of breaking down some of their beliefs. I really like him. Again, if you're younger or you're maybe college-aged and you're like, some of these people that you're you know you're recommending are old people that I don't want to listen to, this would be this is a great guy too. I really like his podcast. He's a lot more engaging. and Again, his media team and his content is a lot higher production value.
00:25:29
Danny Price
but I think he's also really interesting to listen to. And he does, again, more of his stuff is revolving around current events or current things that are happening, and like the the Christian buzz, I guess, in the community, so

to speak. So just wanted to throw that in there. He's an interesting guy to listen to.

um That's kind of my list. I have more people that I listen to sometimes that i didn't put on here, ah but the main people that I said that i would or i say that I would consume varying levels, some people weekly, some people monthly, some people less than that. This is kind of my list. This is kind of the people that i listen to.

um I'm trying to be careful, again, you know that I'm not being formed by so-and-so's theology or so-and-so's podcast, but I'm being formed by the Word of God. But again, I would say all these people that I'm recommending here would put the word of God infinite, infinite higher than their podcast. None of these people here would say, just listen to my content. None of these people here would say that they speak in you know for God. All these people here would say, read your Bible, go to church. All these people would push you towards those things first. um Really excited to bring you guys this. I have no idea if this is beneficial for you. Maybe you're listening to this and you're like,

you know Maybe you turned it off and you're not even listening to this now because you're like, I don't really care about podcasts. But if you stuck with me to the end, hopefully this this list gives you a little bit of a snapshot of the people that I'm taking in, the people that I'm listening to. There are some other pastors I wanted to mention.

If you're curious of just people that I listen to sometimes on, you know, not a weekly basis by any means, but occasionally I really enjoy Matt Chandler. And I think we've talked about this on the podcast before, but Matt Chandler pastors, the village church in Texas, flower mound, Texas. um I love Matt Chandler for his passion. I love him for how much he loves God's word and the way that he breaks down a lot of again, a lot of these cultural topics that we're dealing with.

um There's also a handful of pastors just locally that I love listening to. If you've ever listened to Mike Smith before he used to pastor um up at Mountain View before he moved to Centerpoint, I love listening to Mike Smith.

And then, let's see here, was there was one more and I totally, I'm totally spacing it. I'll have to put it in the description. But yeah, so if you're just curious about like who to start listening to, all these people are great. As far as like my top recommendation in terms of a podcast, I would say personally, I would start with Gavin Ortlund and Mike Winger.
00:27:46
Danny Price
um I think those guys are fantastic. I would also start with Kevin DeYoung just because he's breaking things down really clearly in a systematic way. And you can scroll through his podcast for different, kind of a systematic theology and start at the beginning and kind of work through it. So you guys are,

um Again, enjoying this podcast and that this list is not in vain. I really was hoping that this wouldn't be something that would be overwhelming to anybody, but that you listen to this and go, oh, that's cool. I had no idea. And maybe I'll check out those podcasts. So again, appreciate you guys and I will catch you guys later. Bye-bye.
