Introduction to Change Makersly and its mission
00:00:01
Speaker
Hello everyone, I'm Saloni. And I'm Vassilis. We run Change Makersly, a student-run initiative that aims to empower, educate and connect Gen Zers interested in entrepreneurship. We interview teenagers with impactful projects and create resources to help you change the world. If they can't do it, so can you.
00:00:23
Speaker
On this podcast, we discuss logistics of creating different types of projects with Gen Zers who have already done it. We will leave our social media and website information in the description.
VED's innovative learning system
00:00:47
Speaker
Hello, everyone. Welcome to another episode of the Dangerous Rise podcast.
00:00:52
Speaker
Today we are featuring the founder of the next theme, VED, a learning system where students turn to business consultants, solve real-life problems of companies after learning their industry and departments. Welcome to the so VED!
00:01:07
Speaker
Thank you for having me, Vassus. Thank you so much. So nice to meet you. So tell us what is Nextin and how do you get started? So we'd like to define Nextin as a Gen Z ecosystem for problem solvers.
Nextin's approach to problem-solving in education
00:01:22
Speaker
We actually started Nextin because we want to multiply the number of people in India who are working on solving real life challenges for corporates and corporates that make an impact.
00:01:33
Speaker
One of our clients is Luke Ethic. They build sustainable toilets with a cafe attached and a sustainable model where toilets are at the back and there's a cafe at the front. What students are doing at Nextine is that they are coming up with a better approach and how they can market to Gen Z, how they can actually convert their toilets into sustainable waste converters and use chemicals
00:01:58
Speaker
based into usable products. Some of Nextine's students have come up with such ideas and solutions which work for the corporate in a real life scenario. So Nextine's idea majorly came by us wanting more students in our community working on a more common oriented goal. So Nextine is, it's like a community, a society that right now is evolved to an organization type ecosystem that involves
00:02:27
Speaker
where only students are involved, right? 100%. Along with the students, we have coaches. Our sessions are over the weekend with senior coaches running these classes. There are also guest speakers involved who take specialized sessions which include like mindset and soft-skinned development sessions, which again happen on another
00:02:51
Speaker
The first offering of Nextine, apart from the ecosystem, the number one thing that we excel to students is the Nextine Business Camp, which is where students are supposed to transform into business consultants as the end product. Alongside the outcome of them becoming a business consultant, we'd like to learn Nextine as a human accelerator program, where these guys are developing their mindsets, working on their soft skills, and actually get connected with industry leaders and industry mentors.
Promoting technology-driven innovation at Nextin
00:03:21
Speaker
specifically for India at the moment. This is so amazing. Your mantra is path-breaking learning. What does that mean? So path-breaking indicates disruptors in the market. We want students to use exponential technologies to come up with solutions for corporates and also the world. Nextine aims on creating people that solve challenges or develop solutions for another set of million people.
00:03:49
Speaker
With these path-breaking ideas the world has been able to progress and we know the legends in our industry who have been able to come up with products that have disrupted the way we live. We want next-team students to come from areas like India to actually solve challenges for the world. This is so amazing and this brings me to the next question and we will talk about the next verse. In your website you are talking about the next verse but what exactly is that and how does this connect with next-team students?
The Nextin community and ecosystem
00:04:19
Speaker
Great question. Now, as we define Nexteen as an ecosystem, an alternative word for ecosystem for now is the multiverse, right? The new multiverse that we've adapted with Nexteen into with that name. So that's why we've done it as a Nextiverse and Nextiverse is what we are trying to call our ecosystem as a whole and our alumni as Nexteiners. The name is so, so, so clever since the first time that I visited your website,
00:04:50
Speaker
And I wrote about Nextiverse, the first thing that cured my mind was Metaverse, the new thing that Facebook has developed. And since it's in the same culture of technology specifically, I think that this is such a clever idea. We have seen that you provide numerous types of services in different domains, like finance, market strategy, trades, sales growth mode.
00:05:26
Speaker
Right, so these aren't exactly services that we offer to accommodate. A quick story about our website as of now and what we displayed. We actually started with Nextane five months ago in the month of September, or I think my calculation of months is wrong here.
00:05:42
Speaker
Not the best at math, that's why I am into somewhat of a business idea. Anyways, we started next year in the month of September.
Nextin's achievements and collaborations
00:05:50
Speaker
In the month of December, we got into India's finest incubation program, which is called Lab32 Offered by Dheerab. So Dheerab is a program where the Indian School of Business, the Meltzer Law School, and IIIT Hyderabad, which is an international institute of Hyderabad, International Institute of Technology of Hyderabad, have come together and created a program where startups are accelerated.
00:06:11
Speaker
During this program, we were very much able to pivot our model and now become a top six startup that is working in the industry of startups as a whole, in the entire Indian ecosystem of startups. Being the youngest, that was an important element, important point of pride for us. And now we position ourselves more of a company that is for teenagers by teenagers.
00:06:37
Speaker
The services that you just listed are now our subjects which become part of the consultancy report the students are creating, part of the curriculum. So that you are from the youngest entrepreneurs, I think that this is, I don't know, do you think that this is a grow bug or a positive impact? Or just has a positive impact both for next year and your role on that?
00:07:02
Speaker
Hi Lee, so we were able to actually develop ourselves as founders a lot more. Myself and the entire team was able to develop and change our perspective on the way we look at the world. The exposure we've gained while working on next team and actually developing strategies with the help of Indian ecosystems like we have and pioneering educational systems like growth tech, startup, again based in India, and also free resources out of my community.
00:07:32
Speaker
This has been able to actually become one of the first startups in the Indian youth entrepreneurship ecosystem that has really, really value. And we've put our emphasis on it and we look forward to launching ourselves in the market here. Do you have any favorite projects that you have worked on so far? In general, if you were asking about me,
00:07:56
Speaker
loved working on this project by the Rainwater Project. The company itself is called Rainwater Project. It has a mission which is called Blue Hat.
00:08:05
Speaker
What they do is that they recover real life lakes and real life wells by restoring them. In 18th century wells and lakes, they restore them. I was part of a team from World Youth Media, my previous startup, where we helped the Rainwater Project recover lakes and wells by spreading awareness about them to youngsters. We use the power of youngsters and the power of our connected social media and networks to get support to actually
00:08:37
Speaker
actually to cover these legs. This is such an interesting project like you called it the rain project. Rainwater project. Rainwater project, that's great. So in your website you also mentioned Nextin Camp and from the name I am imagining that this may be, I don't know, part of your team, Nextin team gives some
00:09:04
Speaker
consultation to other students or what exactly is the Nextin Camp?
Nextin Business Camp overview
00:09:11
Speaker
Sure. So Nextin Business Camp is a six-week long program for students to work on real-life challenges given by conference. They are in a pool of 30 students.
00:09:31
Speaker
being knowledge, second being your mindset development, third being your soft skill development, and the fourth and the most important one being the network. Our alumni, our ambassadors, and we call the next in this camp as our priority experience for students to solve challenges for problems. For the students that's interesting you have so you have 30
00:09:55
Speaker
30 teenagers that actually are part of this program right now and you have also corporates that they participate on the program and so you schedule different tasks so that they can experience the real-life tasks.
00:10:12
Speaker
We've actually been adopted, we've adopted a model from an international experience program called X-Culture and the way X-Culture has structured itself for the world and teenagers around the world is all challenges on a global scale. We've also been inspired by the knowledge society based globally and we've combined both their ideologies to create what next year is.
00:10:39
Speaker
audience in India and we look forward to making something happen. So how can students have kind of applied to the camp program?
Opportunities with Nextin
00:10:51
Speaker
So next theme is isn't fully launched yet we did around a few pilot webinars where we were able to make stints of LNU which which fueled our
00:11:03
Speaker
We've also been fueled and actually been confident. I've gotten confident about our ideas and our plans, like I said through T-HUB and other programs that we've been part of to develop our company as a startup. And we're looking forward to create our first official 60-day pilot in the month of April. So I'm wishing you good luck to your launch.
00:11:27
Speaker
I have to say that it's so inspiring seeing a stereotype organization to have set an organized business plan from its beginning. And the same goes for your team members as well. I would like to know how is your organization structured? How many team members are involved? And what if someone would like to get involved? Like not on the account program, but maybe to participate in the next team in general. There are five of us as of now.
00:11:55
Speaker
The organization was started by about 2-3 people in the month of September and more of our important team members joined during January. We are a quite young startup that is very, very ambitious in the spectrum and ambition and focus really drives us. If anybody wants to become a part of next team, we are all open doors for them. You listen to that guys. If you are interested, we will link
00:12:24
Speaker
All the resources are in our description and you can reach out to VED and learn more about how you can participate, if there is any role, everything will be in the description. My next question is, why are businesses
00:12:40
Speaker
Should select next team, like what makes next team stand out? I know that's, usually this is a difficult question. Okay, now when you're looking at this in the perspective of a corporate, next team's a GenZ long organization with students being GenZ experts. So what is it next team being GenZ experts? We've seen the rise of JUV consulting and race consulting a problem.
00:13:05
Speaker
and we've also seen the rise of youth-led consulting firms which are under the influence of Google and IBM. We've had to adopt those systems and develop and get students based in India that work on global challenges. We can't wait to see you grow!
Conclusion and future engagements
00:13:24
