00:02:24
Speaker
Yes. It'll also be in the show notes. It'll be in the show notes. So look for that as well. um um Just a reminder, the tickets are free. um We only do are doing the ticketing so we can get an actual number of how many people are coming because we do have to give that to our to the folks that you know at the venue. So that's the only reason we're doing tickets. But please know that we're not charging anything for this.
00:02:45
Speaker
You just have to request tickets. And listen, this is a even though we're doing this at a beer garden here in ah Charlotte, it's it's um it's an extraordinarily family-friendly place. It's not like a, um you know, I don't know. Yeah.
00:02:56
Speaker
ah It's not like Disney Springs on the weekend at 12 o'clock. So I guess it's more like food and wine at 9 o'clock during the summertime. I've seen it quite a mess.
00:03:07
Speaker
But that's not this place. This place is very kid-friendly. There's a playground. There's live music going on. It's... it's um you know, it's, it's very, ah you know, fun for everybody. Like my daughter's probably going to come.
00:03:18
Speaker
Um, if you want to bring your kids, bring your kids, that's fine too. We'll have everybody, ah just, you know, make sure you register however many people you're going to bring on that site. And, uh, we'll be, we'll be happy to have you. So again, March 29th, uh, 12 to three, in, in Charlotte here at a place called, um, old Mecklenburg brewery. And, uh,
00:03:36
Speaker
Yeah, it's gonna be a good time. Damon and I are gonna be there and Trevor will be there via yeah via video remote. It's gonna be an interesting episode. I don't know. It should be interesting. I will say that um my wife was like, she she goes to me, she's like, Are you doing like an episode there? and i'm like, Yeah, we're gonna do a live episode. And she's like, How are you gonna do that?
00:03:53
Speaker
I was like, I don't know. but but And she's like, well, shouldn't you figure that out before you ah committed to doing this? I was like, I'll figure it out. It's, you know, we we'll figure it out. It's just, but i yeah, no, I mean, the the whole idea is going to be, I mean, we're going to be there. We're going talking, but we're also, we want to talk to people that are there too. Right. So it's not just going to be us. It's,
00:04:12
Speaker
going to be whoever's there. And so this is going to be a, uh, a podcast that everybody, everybody comes to. you i haven't, I haven't decided that yet if we want to do this live on Facebook or YouTube or anything yet, but we'll, we'll talk about that. I mean, we'll, we'll have to actually think about, um, David just doesn't want to get caught on video. That's really what it is. There is no. Yeah.
00:04:31
Speaker
yeah Okay. That's fine. Also to, to be fair, I don't know that their wifi would be capable of streaming. That's a fair point. Yeah. So we we probably shouldn't assume that we probably, we probably shouldn't because I don't know how fast the wifi is going to be. Hopefully it's fast enough that we can actually do the show.
00:04:45
Speaker
um But I assume it will be, I think, think we'll be okay there. Yeah. So anyway, come register. We do need to know we we need to know like initial numbers within the next two weeks here. So if you could respond by ah the 15th, that would be extraordinarily helpful to us um because we do need to kind of have a final count a couple weeks out. So, ah yeah. So please let us know as soon as you possibly can. And then we'll we'll yeah. Like i said, we're looking forward to it's good. It should be fun of event.

New Disney Resort Insights and Speculations

00:05:12
Speaker
all right. So, I mean, there's not a ton of news. go on. Yeah, but hold on. I need to go back because I was out. There's just two things that I just can't feel like, i mean, I feel like I can't miss talking about.
00:05:23
Speaker
I'm scared. but yeah just well Well, yeah, I mean, I have to talk about, you know, Lakeshore Lodge. Okay. I just really, that i I'm on board with this. I like it. I think it's a great idea. I'm glad they're playing paying some homage back to River Country.
00:05:38
Speaker
I wonder though, is it going to turn into the resort because of that and become hard to get and a lot of points? Hmm. I don't know because I feel like we already have one of those.
00:05:50
Speaker
And does that then take away from Beach Club and make that easier? Or does it make it harder? I don't know. But I'm excited. I really hope they have, like, something from River Country. Like, I hope that we can really get something. Yeah.
00:06:06
Speaker
Well, you know, they usually put like whenever they build. I want it to be in my face, right? Like make it in my face. I really just want the big wagon. Like if they can bring the wagon out. You don't want subtle. You want like a big tribute to. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:06:19
Speaker
I want the big wagon out that ah that they used to have the barrel wagon or whatever that was. Like bring that out. I'd be good. And then on the gaming venue. I think this is a good idea. like I did like the NBA experience, but I think it was long in the tooth.
00:06:33
Speaker
the The only thing is, is that unless we get the raft ride back, there was nothing better. Even that raft ride at Disney quest, even if they brought it back now, exactly how it was, I still think was like a blast.
00:06:45
Speaker
I want that back, which we're not going to get, but it should be interesting. But I wish we the raft ride back. That was my favorite thing there. to Just to go back to Lakeshore Lodge for a second, because we did talk about this a little bit, Damon. is Is having a lazy river and a giant pool going to take some of the pressure off Beach Club, or is it going to be just as popular? You know what i mean? I think it's going to be just as popular. I think the problem that we have now is is that there's just too many people.
00:07:10
Speaker
Yeah. I get that. yeah You know what I mean? That yeah it's just i think Yeah. I think it's just going to be one of those things where it's just as popular that's Yeah, I think it could be a tough get. I mean, but that's that's the case for all of the resorts around Magic Kingdom are always, you know, high in demand, I feel like.
00:07:27
Speaker
But even more so, though, because it's going to have the lazy river. and And I wonder who it's going to bring. Like, the demand is going to be families. Is it going to be older people? I don't know. Like, i mean, older people. I mean, like, just, you know.
00:07:40
Speaker
singles because it's got a lazy river. like i just I wonder what that's going to be. Yeah. And the thing is, there's the difference between like a lazy river and an adult lazy river and like a family lazy river.
00:07:51
Speaker
I just wonder what it will be like. you i So I always think to the... the you You might know this reference statement, but and I don't know ah who else does. But when i used see when I was a kid, I would go to Dorney Park in Wild Water Kingdom. They always had they this lazy river that had like...
00:08:07
Speaker
waterfalls that you'd have to go under and like, yeah you know, things that would bubble up underneath you. and like, and my uncles used to take my tube and like, hold me under the waterfall as uncles do, yeah but you know?
00:08:19
Speaker
So like, I doubt it's going to be like that though. I feel like it's just going to be like a straight up. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I think so as well. If you want that, you got to go to blizzard beach because they have all that stuff at blizzard beach.
00:08:33
Speaker
Yeah. So, I mean, and that's the thing. They don't want to necessarily take away from that. Right. So, but yeah, I see, I think that Disney understands pretty well that river country lives in a special place for a lot of people.
00:08:46
Speaker
So I do think that they will make some sort of, you know, though I assume they have some props lying around some stuff that was from river country that they will put at this resort. Like I'd be shocked if they didn't.
00:08:57
Speaker
Really? Yeah. Yeah. I feel like river country closed far enough along that, you know, did Disney used to just destroy stuff, but, uh, but they're yeah, they're pretty good at keeping stuff now.
00:09:10
Speaker
So, Yeah. So, i Damon, I would i would you know i'll be interested to see. I mean, ill I'll definitely... I think I've talked before that I could see myself buying here at some point. um But I don't i don't know.
00:09:22
Speaker
We'll have to see. Because we really don't know a lot of details of what it's going to look like. They haven't... I mean, they announced what it's going to be, but they haven't said... Is it the same plans as it was before? Is it new plans? Like, we don't really know.
00:09:34
Speaker
um You know, I'm assuming it's the exact same thing they announced a couple years ago. But even then, we didn't know, like, the, you know, the amount of rooms they were going to have, like, what room types they were going to have. I mean, I think we know that they're going to have the cabins on the water just from some of the plans we've seen.
00:09:48
Speaker
But, you know, i we don't... there's not There's a lot we don't know about Lakeshore Lodge, honestly. So, I mean, we'll find out more, I guess, as it gets built. But it's getting built fast. i don't know if you guys have seen ah the internet. Like, there's pictures floating around of that construction. It's happening very quickly.
00:10:02
Speaker
and We just, like, bounced around to, like, four different topics all within, like, a couple minutes. Not that that's not part of the course for us, but, you know.

TV Show Reviews and Nostalgic Reflections

00:10:11
Speaker
Yeah, anyway. any Anything else before we get back to the agenda? Yeah, I know, David. Was there anything else? oh yeah. so So I will say, win or lose on Disney Plus is so well done.
00:10:25
Speaker
Oh, really? Yeah, it's totally not what I expected. It is, if you took Inside Out 2 and made it even more like...
00:10:37
Speaker
Realistic's not the word that I'm looking for, but made it even more like emotionally. it's it's It's just very good. And if you've had a kid that's played sports or you've played sports, the storylines are really good. And they're realistic. And they're just very, very well done.
00:10:54
Speaker
and i was pleasantly surprised. um It is not a show for super younger kids. I mean, you could watch it, but you're not going to get the full feel for it. ah But it is a show that really is well done.
00:11:09
Speaker
Very well done. nice Yeah. So worth watching from Disney+. plus All right. It's good to know. um Yeah. When I'm looking for something new to watch, I actually just i just noticed that um Home Improvement came on to Netflix, the old sitcom.
00:11:26
Speaker
And I decided to start watching it as like my... you know I'm sure everybody has like a background show that like they just have on while they're doing other things. Yeah. So I was like, all right, well, let me, let me throw a home improvement on in the background. Cause it's on Netflix now. And so might as well just let it go.
00:11:40
Speaker
That show holds up holds up pretty well. And I also remember like when I was a kid going to the parks, I remember how much home improvement stuff there was always at Hollywood studios, like merch and stuff like that. Like it was, it was a thing, but yeah, I don't know if that was one that made it up to to Canada was popular. Trevor, but um and I'm sorry. Yeah.
00:12:00
Speaker
You're saying we wouldn't know what home improvement is? I don't know. You know, you never know what goes. yes it was It was on TV. It was very much on TV for us. It was on TV nonstop, right? Yeah. Coincidentally, actually, my my wife watched it. I think like three or four weeks ago, she did the same thing. She found it. And so she binge watched it for a couple of days. And, and, and,
00:12:21
Speaker
So yeah, you're right. It holds up. um My thing with it now is that, you know, from what I remember of it as a kid, my perspective of the show has changed, which, you know, just shows about growing up is that, you know, you know, I, I used to like, you know, you know, the the kids on the show to me seemed like, you know, the they seemed kind of cool. Like, like it was like, like okay, yeah. You know, he's got these kids and, you know they're doing their thing. and And it's like, I watch it now and it's like,
00:12:49
Speaker
Yeah, I can see why he gets upset at his kids all the time. Yeah, it is funny how that... There was a meme a while ago that I saw that it was like, you know, you're like getting older like when you start agreeing with Ariel's father.
00:13:01
Speaker
like i can see why that happened, the way it did. Yeah, exactly. I will say it's still pretty funny, though. I mean, I was i was watching it, and i was I was still laughing. I mean, it's not... There's a lot of it that's still really funny. So um it's just funny to see that come back around and and just show up randomly.
00:13:19
Speaker
ah But especially on Netflix. like Does Disney not own that? I mean, i don't know. It's just kind of odd. think it's on Disney Plus for us. Oh, really? It's on Netflix for us.
00:13:30
Speaker
I'll have to go check. I'm pretty sure. Because, yeah, I think my wife's been watching on dis Disney Plus. So, again, one of those weird... It could be both, actually, though. It's possible. Yeah, actually, this i just Googled it. It's on both.
00:13:42
Speaker
ah Weird. Oh, okay. Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah, we've been watching it on Disney Plus because, yeah, it just it showed up on there for us. Interesting. Yeah, it's available on both. Okay. Well, yeah. So, it's probably on Hulu, too. Who knows?
00:13:54
Speaker
um But, yeah, it's you know it's funny to me. I sometimes miss the days of when shows were like 24 episodes in a season. Yeah. like Because you don't really get that anymore. like it's just it's very rare anymore. But it used to be every show was like 20 to 24 episodes every season. and Yeah, the problem is the budgets for those are just insane now. that yeah I feel like it's it's hard to justify keeping people tied up for 24 episodes.
00:14:21
Speaker
I also just feel like so many shows are like longer now, right? like Every episode of Stranger Things, when it comes out, it's going to be like an hour and a half to two hours. It's a movie. yeah yeah like It's a straight-up movie. and i mean like you know Some of the best shows out there now are usually an hour, an episode, right? But...
00:14:36
Speaker
it's it is It's just weird that it's you know when you watch some of those older shows and it's like, man, this is a long season. and You just forget that like every show used to do those 20 to 24 episode seasons every time.
00:14:47
Speaker
And you you actually bring up a good point about like the the length of shows. Because like if you watch Home Improvement, like those each episode is like... 20 to 25 minutes, like 21 minutes. Yeah. Yeah. Because, because they, uh, you know, we forget about that. There used to be like tons of ads sandwiched, like like there were so many commercial breaks. Right. Oh yeah.
00:15:09
Speaker
And, uh, yeah, you, you forget that. Like, you know, if you, you know, watching the shows now is very easy because you can just sit down and watch it and be done. But, you know, I remember, you know, thinking back to it when I was a kid is, you know, if it's hard to, uh, it's hard to remember that, you know, you want to watch a show and it was like, okay, you know, you know, this show is a half hour long, but you spent how much of your time just sitting through ads that you couldn't skip. Like, like you don't give them you know you know, kids don't understand that. Like even, you know, my my son complains too about like, you know, on YouTube, it'll show him ads and he's like, you know, Oh, you know, no, I got to wait like 30 seconds to skip it. And I'm like,
00:15:47
Speaker
You have no idea, kid. yeah Yeah. Imagine being forced to watch that ad, you know, 10 times in a row. And you can't skip it. i I think I said on the podcast the other day that I tried to explain to my daughter the concept of a cassette tape the other day. And she was just like, didn't couldn't get it.
00:16:02
Speaker
She's like, I don't i don't understand. what do you What do you mean? And I'm like, I mean, how do you describe a cassette tape? I don't know. But I was just like, there was this little tape thing that had, you know, music. get out your You get out Boombox the Transformer.
00:16:16
Speaker
and you you You explain to me. I a man I had a big giant boombox when was a kid that had both a tape deck in it and CD player. It was so good. yeah oh yeah Yeah. I loved that.
00:16:27
Speaker
Anyway. Back to current time. There's not a lot of news this week, so we can we can talk about whatever. um but yeah so Home Improvement is out there if you haven't noticed you know and you want to check that out again. because i Like I said, i I hadn't really thought about it in a while and then it just popped up and i was like, oh, okay.
00:16:44
Speaker
I enjoy 90s sitcoms generally because Because I mean, a lot of them are formulaic and kind of do like the same jokes. But, you know, some of them are werere really good. You know, I'm really entertaining. I agree. And I wish there there was a lot of good sitcoms over the years. and And I mean, you know, it's good to go back and watch them.
00:17:02
Speaker
I feel like nobody really does sitcoms anymore. If they do, I just don't know where to find them. Yeah. Like, I, I, I agree with you. i I wish that sitcoms would come back because they are, there's, there's a lot of sitcoms. You're probably just not watching them. Yeah. We're just not again. But, but I, that's the point is that I feel like, I mean, Abbott elementary is classic dude. Oh, Abbott elementary is good. Yeah. yeah that what is a good word That's where, that's the mockumentary style though. That's the mockumentary kind of show, you know?
00:17:31
Speaker
I mean, yeah. And then they have the new shifting gears, which is terrible. That is that's tim allen it's the new Tim Allen one. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Trevor, go ahead. So, so, so my point is, yeah, that like, I feel like the way that things are now is that it's like, unless like, like I guess back in the day, you know, because of the way TV was structured and everything was that you just kind of, you got ads and you got things that,
00:17:53
Speaker
pushed at you because it was whatever was on the network. Now, because of algorithms and the internet and all that, I feel like, you know, even like when I go into Disney plus, it's like, it's always recommending stuff based on shows that I've watched and like breaking out of that loop is hard. And especially when it's like, yeah, I want to watch a sitcom. And even like, you know, you watch Home Improvement and it'll bring up like, you know, here's a bunch of other, you know, old sitcoms. It's like, I don't want to watch old sitcoms. I want you to show me the new stuff. Right. Yeah.
00:18:23
Speaker
No, you're right, though, because the algorithms like, you know, paint a certain picture of us and then put us in that in that kind of space where they think they're going to work, which, you know, is is not a terrible thing because it like you find things that they think you're going to like and sometimes you do.
00:18:36
Speaker
But to your point, you can't really break. It's hard to break out of it and find stuff that you yeah ah maybe wouldn't normally look at, you know. I equate it to eating a family-sized bag of M&Ms. Okay.
00:18:49
Speaker
because Because, you know, it it's the the algorithm is the same way. as that you know You say, hey, I like you know i like peanut M&Ms. It goes, great. Here's some peanut M&Ms. And ms you go, okay, I still like peanut M&Ms. Then it gives you the family-sized bag, which is way too many.
00:19:03
Speaker
And then you go, I really actually don't like M&Ms anymore because I've had it too much. like That's what I feel the algorithms. I get what you're saying. Yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense. Yeah. Anyway, talking about home improvement.
00:19:15
Speaker
yeah I actually remember specifically a piece of home improvement merch that was purchased ah by me at my ah when I was at Hollywood Studios. There was a home improvement shirt, and it said, if I remember correctly, real men don't use instructions. Yeah.
00:19:29
Speaker
and And it was home improvement. And i i gave I gave it to my dad because my dad is classic for not looking at instructions. hes it's ah part I think part of the reason why I like home improvement is because my dad is very much like like yours are like Tim Taylor, you know like just thinks he can do anything and mostly can, but sometimes not. And usually electrocutes himself.
00:19:53
Speaker
Yeah, you know, yeah, usually, yeah. You know, so that's, I think that's part of the appeal to me, but ah it's, yeah, so I remember that shirt very specifically at Hollywood Studios ah back in the old, you know, backlot days, so.
00:20:06
Speaker
All right, anyway, let's talk about Legos.

LEGO Building Experiences and New Releases

00:20:08
Speaker
You want to talk about Legos? Sure, let's talk about Lego. i just had so i you know I think you guys know I just had my birthday and my daughter decided to pick out a Lego set for me, a Disney Lego set, which is not on this list, actually. but we've been bill i was going to say, is is it the Cinderella dress? It's not. No. it's she it's It's actually a big Sorcerer Mickey and like a bunch of small scenes underneath it.
00:20:30
Speaker
It's pretty cool. So we've been building it together, although I usually ah i usually do Legos by myself. So doing it with my soon-to-be seven-year-old daughter is um challenging, let's say. ah ah It requires a lot of patience. Conforming to your years of experience and ideals on how to build Lego.
00:20:51
Speaker
Yeah, well, you know, I think, okay, so I think people that do like Lego understand that, like, there's a certain way you pour out that bag of, of you know, pieces, right? Like, so that they don't go everywhere and so you don't lose pieces.
00:21:03
Speaker
My daughter does not conform to this. ah She just rips open the bag and there's pieces flying everywhere. um Yeah. Just put them on a pile on the table and you just rifle through it until you find that little square two piece that you need and then you do do it again.
00:21:19
Speaker
and then it takes you three times as long. and Well, the the bag we did today, i was missing several pieces. And I said to my daughter, had opened the bag without me around. And i'm like, where are the pieces? like they Are they on the ground? Are they under the couch? Like, where are they?
00:21:32
Speaker
um But we never found them. So luckily, you know, they always give you extra pieces of the small ones. So you can usually, usually just use their website and they'll send them to you. Yes. yes Really? Okay. Because I've never actually been missing, like legitimately missing a piece from Lego series. You can hop on their website. So out of these announcements, you pretty much missed the biggest announcement which of all.
00:21:56
Speaker
Lego Bluey. Oh, yeah. Well, no, we talked about that a couple weeks ago, though. Yeah. Well, now they have the sets. Yeah. Now they're out. Bluey Ice Cream. No, not till June. But they've now, you know, Toy Fair is this week and yeah this weekend.
00:22:08
Speaker
So we have the Bluey Ice Cream trip. We have Bluey's Family House with Memory Game. Ooh, the house is awesome. Yep. Bluey Playground Fun with Bluey and Chloe. Bluey's Beach and Family Car Trip and Bluey's Family House.
00:22:22
Speaker
I have to say, i'm a little disappointed. i Listen, I know Bluey's ostensibly a child's show, but I would have liked... No, don't. Don't. You know what they did come out? What they just announced is they have this river steamboat set.
00:22:37
Speaker
River Steamboat. Yeah, so it was just announced at Toy Fair. It's this huge Steamboat. It's over 4,000 pieces, and that looks awesome. That's up my alley. It looks really cool.
00:22:49
Speaker
I like how we're talking about everything except the ones that Tom Lundis do. That's fine. This is under LEGO, though, too. This is under LEGO, because it is it's LEGO Blue. Well, how about they just um put out the Marvel's Endgame Final Battle set.
00:23:03
Speaker
They announced that as well. Oh, really? Yeah. i don't I didn't have that on my list either. Well, you know, because these are all from the toy family yard toy fair stuff. But yeah, that looks not that cool.
00:23:14
Speaker
It comes with a giant purple Thanos, though. Yeah, but it still doesn't look that cool for a hundred bucks. Yeah, you're right, because there's not much to it. No, man. It doesn't look much to it. Lego Bluey I'm in about, though. I'm going buy Lego Bluey.
00:23:29
Speaker
i guess sir I also saw, too, that Bluey has ah officially made their debut her debut on ah Disney Cruise ships, too. yeah Somebody posted on Instagram, one of the Disney Cruise people posted on Instagram a picture of Bluey on the ship. But again, they're only doing it for you know trips that go out of Australia. Yeah.
00:23:47
Speaker
Not for the rest of us, but yeah. i mean So what what do we have? We have a Lilo and Stitch, which is because, you know, it's Lilo and Stitch is just coming becoming too played out. Like I've had enough already and it's not even out yet. Yeah. I just, I'm kind of getting tapped already, man. They're overhyping it.
00:24:05
Speaker
It's dry. You're right. Lilo and Stitch has dragged on too long for the the live action release. The hype drain. Yeah. Yeah. I will say they nailed Stitch though. I mean, I remember there was that long time they kept, people kept posting on the internet. Better than Sonic. That's for sure. Oh yeah. Like nobody, nobody was outraged on the internet about how Stitch looks. like I would agree.
00:24:23
Speaker
It's just, it's just been too long, but I mean, not as bad as that whole Shrek five thing. Like what is it going to be? Two years. They just released the trailer. That's crazy. yeah that's But Lilo and Stitch feels to me like it's been a little too long. um you know so Hold on, but Lilo and Stitch also used to be a movie that was kind of like a not... It wasn't a movie that everybody and all the Disney fans were into, right? like I feel like they were more fringe characters than they were... um i'm I'm not fans of Lilo and Stitch.
00:24:50
Speaker
It's kind of a slow burn. yeah sure I would agree. and It's a very sad movie, honestly. But I will say this set is pretty cool. wait So I don't understand like this helmet, right?
00:25:01
Speaker
So like, what are you doing with this helmet? It's just a display piece. You can't really play with this helmet. Like I feel like Legos, like if you're not playing with Legos. Dude, all of my Legos are display Legos. Yeah. Hold on. how How do you play with Legos? Because I've never had a Lego set where I've been like, oh, this is cool. Or well, okay. All the Lego sets that my son played with are now destroyed in bins because once they hit a point of falling apart far enough, they never get put back together.
00:25:31
Speaker
No, I mean, I feel like you play with them just like you play with any sort of action figures, but I just feel like a helmet. Like, what what am I doing with that, man? That's entirely a display piece.
00:25:42
Speaker
I also feel but like if I'm going to have a display piece, why does it need to be Lego? Like, make it be cooler. Like, make it be the actual helmet. People like Lego?

Children's Shows Evolution and Nostalgia

00:25:50
Speaker
yeah I feel like this is coming from you, Damon, because you're always the one that's like, don't play with stuff, you know?
00:25:56
Speaker
Lego stuff, once you open it, then you got to play with it. It depends on if it gets to that open. okay yeah like I have my Lego brickhead ducktails. That's not open, so i can't with it. Well, you're going to hate the next one then, too, because how are you playing with this princess dress displayed on a little pass? you definitely can play with the princess dress. Yeah, you can play with this one. Yeah, absolutely. You can play with this one. yeah My daughter would play with this one.
00:26:16
Speaker
I like the little mouse that comes with it. yeah It looks like that's going in that's a little too small. the Same with the little bird, the crow. Maybe a little too small. To your point, though, Damon, I'm just looking at my Lego collection. I have a Mandalorian helmet that just is there. and then i have I just don't get it. but i have the thanos I have the Thanos gauntlet.
00:26:34
Speaker
ah Both of them were bought for me. so it's not like i you know they're just display people all All of mine are display pieces. i mean i I just built that giant rocket thing. and That one, i I'm not like flying around going...
00:26:48
Speaker
Not that I would anyway. Clearly not doing it right. Obviously. Obviously. Okay. One that's kind of throwing me off a little bit is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Car, which is actually a Duplo set. Yeah, little Duplo set.
00:27:01
Speaker
We're throwing you off about this. I didn't think Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has been a thing for like over 10 years. It's It still is. Yeah. I know it's classic, but I guess, again, you know, I don't see or hear anything about it.
00:27:16
Speaker
but They look revamped it though. Yeah, they did they they did. They revamped it. Like, so it's, it's different now. Oh, okay. And they still have the classic version of it too. So, so from what my son watched as a child and I watched way too much about the new one, I'll probably hate it because,
00:27:31
Speaker
Yeah. It's not what my son grew up with. What's the, I forget what the new version of it's called. It's not um Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's um ah Damon. Do you know it? i for I forget what the new name of the show is. the top of my head now Yeah.
00:27:46
Speaker
Then it's probably awful. No, I'm just past watching that. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, my daughter doesn't really watch those anymore, so... Yeah, like said, the same problem for me is that, you know, these... It's great that they redo these shows, but I still have... Like, I have a, like, 15 years ago version of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuck in my head, which...
00:28:08
Speaker
When I look at it, I go why why did they bring this out now? like it feels like this should have been brought out 10 years ago. It's it's Mickey Mouse Fun House is the is the new one. yeah Oh, so it's not the same thing then?
00:28:19
Speaker
No, it's a different show. The house is different. I think they don't have the same... think there's a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse coming out in 2025. Oh, is there? Okay, so there's a whole... They're redoing that one too. Okay, that's why we have the set. What about Mickey the Roadster Racers?
00:28:36
Speaker
That was good. That was a great show, man. That was a good show. yeah That was past our time of watching those kinds of shows. At that point, my son had moved on to watching Scooby-Doo.
00:28:47
Speaker
Okay, that's fair. That was a good show. and they They had a really good theme song for that show. There's also a new... um What's the princess one? Sophia the first.
00:28:58
Speaker
there' an Oh, yeah. My dad never got into that one. Oh, that was probably the most classic of them all. That was a good one, man. Yeah, my daughter never got into that one. I don't know why. My daughter was into it, but she's, you know, again, that was a big thing when she was that age.
00:29:12
Speaker
Yeah. That was what my son wanted us to skip past every time it came on when we had Disney Channel. I think it was probably not targeted towards him. know Yeah, he'd always get a he would get upset, but he'd be like, can we not watch the show?
00:29:30
Speaker
All right. Just going back to Lego. So there's a Winnie the Pooh one too. Okay. Which is again a Duplo one, which, you know, I understand, but I like, the um yeah I like this Hey, Hey one though. It's, it's simple, but cool. I like it.
00:29:43
Speaker
It looks, it looks very cool, but it's just, it's a very simple set. It's definitely not one that I would usually get, but yeah. I mean, okay. I guess maybe I don't have an eye for Lego. it It looks like there's a lot of tiny, finicky pieces in it.
00:29:58
Speaker
Yes. so Which is always fun. Those are the pieces I lost in my current set. is yeah you know, the tiny pieces, you know. Yeah, so you're sitting there with tweezers putting the ah putting the Lego pieces together. i You know, while I was doing this with my daughter, though, I was feeling like um ah like Will Ferrell's character from a Lego movie.
00:30:17
Speaker
where my daughter like i'm building we're like building the set together and my daughter has the minifigures and she's like she's like making them do stuff and like you know moving around and i'm like hey these are not a toy we're building this like ah you know what was this character's name made something business uh yeah oh my gosh what was it i haven't seen that movie in a while to our business or something yeah president business yeah whatever it is Yeah, that's basically me when I'm making ah you know these these sets with my daughter. It's like, hey, stop playing with that. We're you know we're trying to build this thing here. so do Do you have Kragle?
00:30:50
Speaker
I do not. No, I do not. i I don't do that with all of my sets. um Yeah. I don't know why. I guess I could. But anyway, let's move on from Lego. We've got enough Lego.
00:31:04
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, and i don't even know how much we want to talk about this or not, because I don't know how much I actually care. But um there's the and, you know, we I posted this in the discord and and there was a lot of discussion around it. So I figured we'd bring this up. But ah For those who don't know, Kathleen Kennedy runs ah the runs Lucasfilm,

Star Wars Trilogy Future and Leadership Changes

00:31:20
Speaker
basically.
00:31:20
Speaker
And she's been you know had a mixed record over the years here. I know a lot of fans are not a huge fan of her. And there's been some pretty heavy rumors that she was going to retire. um But now she's coming out and being like, no, not going to retire.
00:31:34
Speaker
like I'm going to keep going. um And you know she also mentioned that, of course, there's another trilogy of Star Wars movies coming, too. Okay. but Well, so what we talked about in the Discord is that you know this that guy Dave Filoni, right? like Who fans seem to actually like because he made a lot of the the stuff, most recent stuff that people like.
00:31:56
Speaker
He's like the chief creative officer over there. So a lot of people assumed that he was going to kind of take her place. But... That's fair. Yeah. I mean, which would, I mean, I feel like would placate some of the fans. Cause I know fans like him, you know?
00:32:07
Speaker
Well, but I, I guess the hard part, I guess is disassociating the, you know, you know, disassociating the person from the creative output.
00:32:19
Speaker
Sure. Because, you know, you know, he may be the chief creative officer, but that doesn't mean that he's necessarily had his hands in everything that has gone on. The same thing, same thing with Kathleen Kennedy is, you know, know, people assume that, you know, because she is, know,
00:32:34
Speaker
you know, you know, heading up Lucasfilm that, you know, all of the bad films are her fault. Right. Yeah. So, I mean, it you know, i guess it doesn't matter who's at the front necessarily, as long as the final product is something that people like. So, you know, maybe, maybe Kathleen realized, you know, you know, maybe she, she saw the feedback from some of the stuff that was done And maybe she's changing her tune. And and and the hard part, too, is, you you know, you can say, well, you know, well, it was him that did it but you actually don't know. Like, we don't see behind the scenes as who's actually, like, making final decisions on some of these shows and stuff, right? So...
00:33:15
Speaker
and She did say that she's not retiring, but she also said that they're searching for a successor for her. Right. So, yeah. Yeah. Which is fine, you know, but yeah. But that but the thing is, yeah they still have to be, or I guess they don't have to be producing stuff, but they will still be producing stuff while she's looking for a successor.
00:33:32
Speaker
And I mean, i guess i guess we'll wait and see. i You know, you you said, I'm sure everyone could probably hear it through through the show that my you know my eyes hit the back of my head when you said and there was trilogy another trilogy. Because, you know, do we really need another trilogy? Could be good You know, you never know. Yeah, i mean I mean, it could be good. But do we need another one?
00:33:55
Speaker
No, I mean, we don't even have to think we have. yeah why Why does it have to keep following the same formula? but be it's My wife had the same opinion about the Wicked movie, even though she loved it. And she's a huge Broadway fan. And she was like, did I really need this? No.
00:34:09
Speaker
But she still enjoyed it. You know what I mean? like so But I get what you're saying, though, too. the The interesting thing, though, is she's I think she's setting herself up to be like ah ah Not like a consultant to kind of do what Iger did when Iger retired the first time where he was like, he retired, but he was like still on the board, you know, because she's saying here that a succession announcement would be made months or years out. And she has every intention of sticking around to help that person.
00:34:38
Speaker
So it's going to be like an Iger situation where Iger was still floating around while Chapek was, you know, was, was trying to, trying to be CEO, um you know, well ah while Iger was still using his, ah his, his office that had the shower in it.
00:34:53
Speaker
Do you remember that article? Yeah. that so yeah but yeah I mean, to be fair, I wouldn't want to give that up either. That's probably a pretty good, nice perk, but anyway. um Yeah. So, and then also they're, so they're doing, yeah, the next trilogy and they're saying it's going to be five or six years after the last star Wars movie. So it's not like a, not doing prequels again. It's we're going, going forward, I guess.
00:35:15
Speaker
ah Yeah. So I guess we'll have see, I guess, hopefully just doesn't turn into bad fan fiction because that's what I feel like sometimes with these writers is that they like, they run out of ideas and it just, yeah. Yeah.
00:35:30
Speaker
Well, the other problem is, too, like they they go through like ah they go through directors like nobody's business, right? like it's I mean, they're constantly going to the next director because they have creative differences, right? And like a lot of people have blamed you know her for that, Kathleen Kennedy, for it. So who knows even who's directing the next trilogy? Because so many people have been announced that they were going to be directing some of the trilogy, and then they back out later. So it's like, who knows? so So who would you want to see direct a trilogy? Yeah.
00:35:59
Speaker
Well, listen, i when they announced that Taika Waititi was doing it, I was excited for that, but he's also kind of fallen off fairly recently. But i still so i I do still enjoy his work and like his sensibility, so I think it would be fun to see him do it, but I mean, I'm surprised Favreau's not doing it. right like i mean he's I know he's doing The Mandalorian, but like it feels like a thing he could do. you know i guess, again, I i mean, Jon Favreau's done so much stuff over the years.
00:36:28
Speaker
Yeah. I guess, yeah, that that's fair. You know, he, I agree. He could probably do well with it, but i mean, outside of that, I don't know who else or, you know, it's kind of a, you know, the point I was, I was making is like, you know, who is there really that is the best person to make a trilogy?
00:36:47
Speaker
yeah Yeah. Like maybe Dave Filoni. Yeah. I don't know that there is. i mean, maybe this is, you know, to be fair, like know, you know, if you wanted to to argue about, you know, the reason that the original Star Wars did so well was because um there wasn't really a precedent for it. And George Lucas kind of just did his own thing originally. Right.
00:37:08
Speaker
True. Yeah. And so maybe you need somebody who will do their own thing. And which is kind of funny because like, like it feels like they've kind of forgotten where the series started from.
00:37:21
Speaker
they They kind of did, you know, that the whole, like, ah the The Last Jedi, right, was extraordinarily controversial, right? Some people loved it. Some people hated it. and But, like, they kind of let that director do his own thing, and that didn't work out great for them. I don't know if it did or not. It did amazing box office, but a lot of people did not like that movie. Yeah, yeah the problem is there there is risk inherently with that, that it can, you know, yeah you can capture lightning in a bottle or it can flop.
00:37:48
Speaker
Yeah. I just don't want the formulaic stuff. No, I get it. i tell Listen, i'm I'm totally with you, and I think... I mean, I've talked about this before. I don't necessarily carry the way because I am a fairly casual Star star Wars fan, so it's like...
00:38:04
Speaker
It doesn't matter to me if they never put out a Star Wars thing again. it would be, you know, i assume they will. I think they're going to continue milking that for as much as they possibly can for as long as they possibly can.
00:38:15
Speaker
Much like Marvel, much like Harry Potter, much like, you know, all of those huge franchises. They're just going to... And Shrek. I mean, you're talking about Shrek 5. When was the last good Shrek movie? Two? Two.
00:38:26
Speaker
so I mean... Like, come on now. I mean, I didn't see four actually. So I don't know. Maybe it was good. Maybe I'm wrong. um But yeah, I mean, two was pretty good, but yeah. I mean, yeah, I think, I think two was kind of the peak for that one.
00:38:41
Speaker
And how many minions movies do we really need? I mean, you know, I think I stopped watching after the second one. Yeah. Yeah. How many Despicable Me movies do we really need? Like there's, what are they on now? Four five? and I don't even know. i just stopped paying attention. Yeah.
00:38:57
Speaker
But that's the thing. like so like It's not like Disney's alone in this. right All these other companies do this. They take whatever franchise they have that's successful and keep throwing it in our face as much as possible. And then, you know, yeah that's as long as people keep buying and paying, you know, buying tickets and paying for stuff like they're going to keep doing it.
00:39:14
Speaker
It's not like going to stop. You know, it's really our fault at the end of the day. If you don't want Disney to do live action remakes, then don't go see them because when they make a billion dollars in the box office, they're going keep doing it.
00:39:25
Speaker
You know, like that's yeah Yeah, well, they're not making that money off of me, I guess. but Because I'm not seeing them. But you're right. that There is obviously a lot of people that watch them. And just because I don't like it doesn't mean that they shouldn't make it.
00:39:38
Speaker
I could definitely see myself seeing the Lilo and Sich one. um But I don't know. We'll see. Anyway. All right. ah Do you want to just talk really quickly about this ah this popcorn bucket? and then we can This Powerline popcorn bucket? Yeah. I feel like they're really hitting into the... It's available in Disneyland? It sucks.
00:39:55
Speaker
Yeah, you want that, right? Well, no, I don't because it's a popcorn bucket. What am I going to do with it? But it's cool. It is. and I wish. And this 90s night offerings, like I wish they would do more of this stuff.
00:40:07
Speaker
Well, because we're all, i mean our I mean, I know we're technically different generations, but our general age you know group is pretty nostalgic for the 90s. We all know Disney afternoons.
00:40:18
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. That's the thing is we all we all know what that used to be like. Yeah. And we I will say the the very first thing on here is this afterschool fruit punch and I kind of want it. Yeah, I saw that. Like, it just feels like it would be like getting like ah like a ah juice box. Yeah.
00:40:38
Speaker
it's Apple juice with pineapple and cherry flavors served with a themed glow cube. I mean, it's just so simple, but it sounds delicious. Yeah, it looks good. Even the fried apple pie Sunday, man. I mean, that I remember the little ah pies you used to get in the contain you know in the little packets when you were a kid, too, in school. i you know Yeah.
00:40:57
Speaker
Yeah. and the The dangerous thing about this fruit punch is it's available at the Little Red Wagon, which is where you get the really good corn dogs. So you get you get a corn dog and a fruit punch.
00:41:08
Speaker
I mean, yeah that that seems like a win to me. By the way, so that we should mention, i and Damon kind of said this, this is only available at Disneyland After Dark ninety s night. i Is that a one night? That's and it's a one night event, right?
00:41:21
Speaker
Is it? think it is, yeah. i mean, it says 90s night. I don't know. It says it's sold out. can't just do one of these. I know, right? Oh, man. Yeah. But, I mean, the power line... ah Oh, no, it's two nights.
00:41:35
Speaker
Two nights. But they're both sold out. So, unless you tickets, don't bother. um But, yeah, man, there it's it it just looks like really cool stuff. It's one of those separate you know events. Obviously, you got to pay separately for it.
00:41:48
Speaker
um But they you know are doing like some rare characters. They're selling fanny packs and stuff like that. It's very 90s nostalgia, right? So, I mean, which I'm all for. I mean, the character experiences they're doing at this are Darkwing Duck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Launchpad, McQuack, and Scrooge McDuck, Rescue Rangers, Shippendale, Fat Cat, and Monterey Jack, Baloo and King Louie, Pocahontas and Miko, Bell and Beast, Indiana Jones, and Fantasmic Monkeys. Okay.
00:42:18
Speaker
But I mean, like that's... The monkeys that dance on the floats in... Oh, yeah yeahasic yeah. Yeah. But yeah. So that's that's like, I mean, like you said, it's the it's the 90s Disney afternoon, right? Like that's what they're doing here, which is really smart because there's a lot of ninety s nostalgia, you know?
00:42:35
Speaker
Yeah. and And to point out, like all those characters you mentioned, I've seen They showed videos of of announcing them. They're all like the class. Like they look like they're 90s versions. It's not like they're just like like bringing out like, you know, just those characters that they look like. It looked like they redid all of the 90s costumes for them, which is yes pretty cool.
00:42:56
Speaker
That is awesome. Also, by the way, just to go back to the food, chicken, bacon, cheesy, garlic, pretzel bread. that's that awful fault that's got me that's That's got me written all over right there. I would eat several of these if needed, if I could. but um I should point out, that are they do say in here that the ah so the the popcorn bucket is ah but only available at the Disney After Dark 90s night, but then will later this spring be available Oh, okay. So, so they're doing an initial like run launch. the up ho there And I think it's maybe the same thing with the food too, is that I'm wondering if they're going to see what stuff really hits at 90s night. And then you'll probably see a lot of it come back later.
00:43:38
Speaker
Yeah, that makes sense, actually. Yeah, it's almost like a testing ground, right? Like they're testing it out. It's a smart way to do it. You know, you give people ah an exclusive menu for for an event like this, but then you also get feedback on, you know, what was really popular and what was not. And then the stuff that's really popular, you know, comes out later. Yeah. Yeah.
00:43:57
Speaker
I'm also looking at this Monte Cristo pizza and the orange glazed chicken bowl. I want i want all this food, man. i want all of it. it all sounds i want all the food and I want all the drink. If anybody listening this is going to 90s night, please let us know how it is. Chicken and funnel cake.
00:44:11
Speaker
Sounds really good. It does, right? Salty sweet. it's It's basically chicken and waffles is what you're doing, but you're doing like a take on chicken and waffles. it's like With the funnel cake, which is way better than waffles. That's fair. That's fair.
00:44:24
Speaker
Oh, man. Yeah. And then this very, very cool Powerline popcorn bucket. I want to see it on somebody because I feel like I can't tell the scale of it, you know, from the picture. I feel, i imagine it'll be about the same size as like the Figment popcorn bucket.
00:44:38
Speaker
Okay. that makes that's That's what i envision. so yeah That makes sense. All right. So let's do our ad. And then we're going to Dan because we're going to food time. Yeah. We have some overdue food time. We do. Several.

I want to mention, Trevor, that I i have written lyrics for a a Disney Cruise News one. I have not recorded it yet, but I have lyrics for a Disney Cruise News song that is based on the SpongeBob theme song. Oh, no.
00:46:46
Speaker
No, I just have to record it. But um yeah, I've got I've got a song ready there. And unfortunately, you know, here's the thing. You we you can't really I mean, I'm going to have to do it myself because, is you know, I can't really replicate it via AI. So, yeah, it's going to be fun.
00:47:02
Speaker
It's going be fun. Yeah. Do we want to do flower and garden first or do we want to do California adventure first? So, okay. I feel, i mean, we've been putting off California adventure for a couple of weeks.
00:47:13
Speaker
Yeah. So we want to start there. Yeah. We should probably do that first. And, and yeah, I don't know how much of it we need to necessarily. Oh, wow. There's actually a lot of new stuff. There's a lot of new stuff. Yeah. and But I mean, Flower and Garden is going to be especially good, too, because you're actually going to be there for Flower and Garden. So this is like important to you because you would need to know what food to eat. So that's true. So, yeah, I think maybe. Yeah, let's let's start with the ah with the Disneyland stuff and we'll finish with Flower and Garden.
00:47:41
Speaker
I'm already telling you everything on this first image I want to eat.
00:47:45
Speaker
ah the So the lemon pepper wings is the very first thing you're starting with. Wow. Yeah. That was tasty. To be fair, to the right, though, I thought that was chicken. It's actually a sloppy Joe, I think.
00:47:56
Speaker
Yeah. Really? Sloppy Joe with impossible beef. It looks like chicken. That's a very neat sloppy Joe. It is. That's not right. No, it should be dripping off the side. yeah There should be someone's hand in the picture covered in sloppy Joe. Or or it should just be naturally falling off the bun. Like, yes it's a little too staged.
00:48:13
Speaker
Yeah, it's looks like it looks like they like wiped around the bun to make sure there wasn't even any sauce going going elsewhere. But also also, I guess it is a slider, too. So i guess I guess at scale, maybe sliders don't get as sloppy as a proper sloppy joe.
00:48:27
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. I would agree with that. Yeah. Okay. So that's still both good though. yeah Both good options. This is over at California craft ruse. There's also a bunch of drinks there, but you know, we usually don't do drinks. We usually do food.
00:48:38
Speaker
So if you want to see the drinks, click on the link later, you go look, go look at all those. Uh, cluckadoodle moo. Cluckadoodle moo. I like the name of this place. it's i is that like a Is that just a booth name? like That's not a yeah a regular like place at Disney like at disney California Adventure. Because I haven't been, so I don't know of these weird names. you know As far as I know, that's not a regular place. I've never seen this name before. It's great name. It could be, yeah.
00:49:01
Speaker
It's great name. But yeah, the the big thing they have, or the big new thing they have is an asados, which is a grilled skirt steak with chipotle chicken and Spanish rice and salsa verde.
00:49:14
Speaker
That looks delicious. Just looks like a like a big old like Fred Flintstone piece of meat. Yeah. Two pieces of meat, really, because yeah it's chicken ended steak. So it looks delicious, though. I mean, I would I would eat that.
00:49:28
Speaker
Yeah, I like how this like the the sloppy Joe is like to put together and this just looks like they threw stuff on a board. Yeah. It's like the total opposite. yeah Just like, i just throw the chicken and steak on there. Who cares?
00:49:41
Speaker
like and Yeah. I like i know that it's like a presentation thing, but it's like it's just on a slab of wood. Pretty much. Yeah. It's just on a slab of wood. yeah ah And you know when you probably get it at the park, it's going to be like a paper bowl.
00:49:54
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Probably. A paper plate. Yeah. um They also have a drink here, too. It's a passion tea cocktail. I know we don't usually do drinks, but that that sounds pretty good. Pineapple rum, rum, passion fruit syrup.
00:50:07
Speaker
ah I always get this wrong. The word acai, right? Black tea. so I think it's acai. Yeah. ah Black tea and lime juice garnished with a Luxardo cherry and pineapple wedge. That just looks kind of delicious. I feel like I'd drink that.
00:50:23
Speaker
And you know I'm not a drinker. So, you know. feel like you need to find a good lounge chair if you're going to drink that. I would agree with that. That feels like a, you know, chilling out a lawn chair. Yeah. Yeah. that's That's a good place for that. I like that. Yeah.
00:50:35
Speaker
right. Now down to garlic kiss, which is a great name for anything because I do love garlic. And the thing we have here is a sirloin Gruyere mac and cheese with black garlic, black garlic, chimichurri and garlic butter crunch.
00:50:49
Speaker
Ooh. Wow. Okay. I mean, that's a lot. Yeah. flat Yeah. I feel like gift if you're going to eat here, it's this is not like a first date kind of place.
00:51:02
Speaker
What are you talking about? Lots of garlic? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, you can it's a you're right. it's it's a It's a rough one, I would say. yeah yeah By the way, this festival is going on from February 28th through April 21st. So this one's already started a couple days ago.
00:51:17
Speaker
But you know if you're going to go to California Adventure anytime between now and April 21st, then ah you know you can... you guys but You got more than a month to go and enjoy all these. Yeah, exactly. Let's move ourselves down to Golden Dreams here. Golden Dreams has a musubi fried rice, which is ah it says an Alani resort inspired steamed rice with egg, glazed spiced ham, umami mayo, and furikake.
00:51:43
Speaker
What is that? uh what that is the green stuff on top i believe which is like a seaweed and okay i'm looking it up right now okay i'm pretty sure it's seaweed it can consist of a mixture of dried fish sesame seeds oh wait i the the overall dish oh yeah okay i see that yeah it's a dry condiment sprinkled on top of cooked rice so yeah it's that stuff you're talking about okay interesting I didn't realize there was fish. Well, I guess, yeah, I always thought it was seaweed, but yeah, it has like a fishy taste to it.
00:52:11
Speaker
But yeah. Yeah. Good if you're into that. I know that's not for everyone, but yeah. yeah I'm down with the next thing. Cherry cobbler, pot de creme, vanilla custard, cherry filling, and an oak crumble.
00:52:22
Speaker
Very simple, but delicious. i'm I'm on a cherry kick lately. I don't know why. Looks basic, but yeah, you're right. it you know Sometimes basic is better. i agree. Yeah. and Oh, boy. i already see on this next one, LA Style, where where it's going to go.
00:52:38
Speaker
ah All right. Yeah. so LA Style has a mini LA street dog with jalapeno mayo. pepper and onion relish, Nusuke's applewood smoked bacon, and crispy onions. That looks delicious. which is That thing looks... It's so tiny. Yeah, it's it's a mini mini dog, but it's like two bites.
00:52:58
Speaker
Yeah, that's, I mean... If you have a really big mouth, you could probably eat that one. um Yeah. I was saying the next one on here, you were going to be excited about. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. You have to acknowledge the mini street dog. But yeah, the Western Barbecue Burger Bao. This is a lot of good in a little. a little package. A little yeah little a little ah doughy package with sweet barbecue sauce. Oh, yes. It's speaking my language.
00:53:22
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's both bacon and crispy onions. Don't forget those two things. yeah Yeah. So, so you get just, you know, boughs are awesome. And then it's just barbecue inside of a bough. Why would you not want that? Yeah. it' I mean, boughs are usually very like they taste to me that like boughs are kind of like barbecue to begin with, but this just sounds like, yeah, obviously you've got, you know, some good barbecue sauce. So throw it in.
00:53:49
Speaker
Yeah. Makes sense. Makes sense. All right. Let's go down next to... A new booth. Yeah. So Mercado de... Tojas?
00:54:01
Speaker
yeah ah Yeah. I don't know. I i just Googled it. It means cravings. So it's cravings market. Okay. Yeah. All right. So that they have a birria mac and cheese with onion cilantro sauce and tortilla crunch, which I'm guessing is... Yeah. It's this first one here that honestly does not look very well presented.
00:54:20
Speaker
i i The colors there are not the most appetizing colors ever. Yeah. I feel like I've seen that. Yeah, go ahead, sir. They put in a bright brute blue bowl to take away from the fact that the mac and cheese looks very um brown. It looks like something I've seen in the bushes at a late night in food and wine at Epcot.
00:54:37
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. let's Let's go with that. Okay. So sure. It's probably okay, but yeah, I'm sure it's fine. Oh, here, this next this is right up your, your alley. Yes, it is. Yeah.
00:54:52
Speaker
ah This is a tres leches cake. um Cafe de Ola infused tres leches topped with. Oh, my gosh. There's so many words here. I don't know. Pillan chilo. Okay. Chantilly cinnamon and a Mickey shaped cookie. Now, this does violate our rule of don't just throw Mickey stuff on top of things and make it themed. However,
00:55:14
Speaker
I don't feel like that's what they were trying to do here. I feel like there's just just like an extra thing they put on. You know what i mean? I don't feel like there would be like ah Mickey dessert. Like this is just like, let's just put Mickey on there to represent, you know? Yeah.
00:55:25
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. It's, I mean, yeah, it's, It looks, you know, somebody cooked or somebody baked a Mickey cookie versus like the printed, like, you know, here's just a like chocolate wafer with a printing on it. Here's ah here's ah here's ah what do you call it. ah Captain America.
00:55:42
Speaker
Boom. Captain America. So it's shield. Now it's Captain America dessert. That's not what they're doing here. now Now, I have to ask you, so so they do have a non-alcoholic beverage on here, which I feel we need to call out, is raspberry horchata.
00:55:55
Speaker
How do you feel about horchata? I love horchata. I have never had horchata, actually, so I don't know how I feel about it. I mean, i probably would like it. i don't see why not, right? Yeah, it's it's one of those few things that like it's it is milk.
00:56:08
Speaker
But so, you know, for me, I can't have it a lot. But but it's it's so good. Like the cinnamon and rice and everything is just good. And then adding raspberries to it, I feel is.
00:56:19
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, that I bet that's going to be really good. I mean, even that the watermelon mojito sounds appealing to me, too. I mean, I'm not a big... As you guys know, I don't drink, but I usually... But I mean, I i will occasionally. And for something like that, that sounds really good.
00:56:33
Speaker
White rum, watermelon liqueur, mojito and cucumber syrups, watermelon puree, lime juice. I mean, that sounds pretty good. Yeah, for sure. I would drink that. um Peppers Caliente. Caliente.
00:56:47
Speaker
Get it? Caliente. Yeah. Oh, they made pun. Okay. so So the new thing there is the corn chip chili pie featuring Impossible Beef.
00:56:58
Speaker
Okay. Seasoned Impossible Beef, spicy cheese sauce, tomatoes, sliced jalapenos, and cream. Looks small, doesn't It just looks like Taco Bowl. and Oh, yeah. That's exactly what it is. It's a ripped open Frito container. Yeah, okay. That's what it is. All right. Got it.
00:57:12
Speaker
Okay. Give me a second. All right. Yeah. see It's yeah kind of that's kind of boring. Underwhelming. Yeah. So moving on. Next one is all drinks. So go past Uncork, California. It's all drinks.
00:57:25
Speaker
Is it? It is. Oh, wow. Okay. Maybe there's not as much here as we thought. Maybe not. Because we got it i mean we and we got a lot of stuff for Flower and Garden. So that's this is pretty good. Here we go. I found one further down at Paradise Garden Grill.
00:57:37
Speaker
Okay. Which that this is, yeah, I think I know where this is on on Pixar Pier. um that You got a chicken taquito ahogado. is I'm sure I'm bur butchering these. but So it's served in salsa verde with snatched rice, avocado crema, sour cream, pickled onion, hojita, and cilantro.
00:57:58
Speaker
I mean, they're taquitos. They're good. You can't really go wrong with the taquito, right? i mean You know they're good. i You did speak is skip over ah Boardwalk Pizza Impossible. They smoked Hawaiian pizza.
00:58:13
Speaker
Smoked Hawaiian pizza, spicy marinara, smoked mozzarella, glazed ham, and charred pineapple. Now, there are some out there that feel like putting pineapple on pizza is, you know, sacrilege, and you can't do that.
00:58:24
Speaker
My wife's a huge Hawaiian pizza fan, she's so she'd be all about this. But I will say, just looking at it, it looks delicious. Yeah. I mean, i was going to say, like, I mean, I guess I can... I feel like I can find...
00:58:36
Speaker
um I can find Hawaiian pizza anywhere. True. Is the thing. And believe it or not, Hawaiian pizza is actually a Canadian thing. Is it really? i didn't know that. Yeah.
00:58:47
Speaker
Yeah. it was It was originally a Canadian thing. Oh, okay. um So like for me, it's like, i'm I'm not going to Disney to have Hawaiian pizza because they're that's fair there's too many places can get Hawaiian pizza around here.
00:58:59
Speaker
Yeah. No, that's that's a fair that's a fair thing to say, i think. Yeah. all right. Anything else we want to mention on this festival here? I think we're good here.

Innovative Churro Flavors and Epcot Menu Highlights

00:59:08
Speaker
I don't see anything or if there is anything else that there's, there's so many like, yeah, that there's so many alcoholic things that they've mixed in here, but yeah, we're not going to talk about any of them. If we, I mean, it is food and so it is food and wine. That's fair.
00:59:23
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, I don't see anything else. other Or well, oh, I guess there was new churros. um There's a creme brulee churro, but I mean, I am continuously impressed by Disney's ability to come up with new churro flavors. I feel like they should have run out by now, but they continue to do it somehow.
00:59:43
Speaker
Okay, what is the worst churro flavor you think they could do? I don't even know. All churros are good. I mean, unless they start doing like no flavored ones. Like, you know.
00:59:56
Speaker
Okay. you know You know how they did the yeah the hot dog in a pickle? Oh, yeah. They still do that. I think in some places. Yeah. I think if they did that to a churro, that would be like the end game for worse churro.
01:00:12
Speaker
I mean, you're probably right. Yeah. I mean, but because I don't want to pickle in the middle my churro. that's Yeah, that would be kind of gross. I feel like there was, oh man, I'm trying to remember, there was some really weird one a while ago that sent you on ah on ah on a rant about Tika Voucher. I mean, it i know they've done some weird ones. I don't know if there was one that was like...
01:00:38
Speaker
Absolutely the worst. It's weman worth mentioning that blue Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs on the boardwalk still does the pickle dog. so Which is fine. But yeah you know but that that's expected. i don't want a pickle in my churro.
01:00:52
Speaker
Keep your pickles out my churro. Yeah. You watch next year. It's going to be there. I'm going to be like, I wish I It's going to be one of those monkey paw things where I'm going to say it. And it's like, I didn't mean for that to happen. Yeah.
01:01:06
Speaker
I mean, there's a strawberry caramel churro. That sounds delicious, too. Yeah. I mean, you know, and i don't know. To me, there's no bad churros. I think we're good for for California. We should move over to Flower and Gardens. Yeah, let's fly in down to Epcot and what Lake Trevor's going to do in a couple weeks. Well, not a couple weeks, but I mean, we're not far off at this point. We're about two months out. yeah Yeah. So, yeah, it's coming up pretty quick.
01:01:30
Speaker
My cruise countdown says 61 days. So, you know, it's it's getting there. It's close. That's going to be, i realize that's going to be, um we're actually going to have probably a couple of weeks where we don't have episodes because of that.
01:01:42
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, there's going to be at least two weeks. we' We'll have to do some back. We'll have to do some wait lists so we can ah yeah fill that time up. But ah yeah, we'll we'll miss a couple episodes just because, i mean, I'll be on a cruise and you'll be gone. And at least it's well-timed.
01:01:56
Speaker
True. Yeah. All right. So World Celebration, Florida Fresh Menu. There's a new item, which is conch fritters with a key lime aioli. So that's conch fritters are a big thing, I think, down in like Key West, of Florida.
01:02:10
Speaker
What is a conch fritter? A conch is, it's like a, don't had one. Yeah. It's, some it's, it's seafood. It's um okay. but It's like the, the conch shell, you know, that you have the, the, oh the thing that's in the con shellfish. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. yeah yeah Yeah. and So it's, some I don't know if it's one particular thing or if it's one of those things that's like several things, you know, but I don't know.
01:02:35
Speaker
It's yeah. It's, it's ah like you said, it's a shellfish. Yeah. And then they they like fry it. But I think it's a big thing down in like ah South Florida. Yeah. so okay but i'm I'm looking or I just Googled it. It says it's deep fried dough balls made from minced conch, vegetables and seasoned batter. So yeah, whatever whatever a conch is. I've never i never... It's weird. I've never associated... like I know what a conch shell is, but it's like I forget that...
01:03:01
Speaker
There is a living thing that was inside of that. Would you try this though? Yeah, probably. mean, I mean, why not? Right. It seems interesting enough. I mean, I guess, yeah, you know, we'll, we'll be wandering around Epcot for sure.
01:03:14
Speaker
And, uh, I'll have to see if fire up that food and wine app again. Yeah. Uh, actually that's a good point. Actually. I think, uh, I'll have to sit with my brother and, uh, make a short list of things that we want to try. Yeah.
01:03:27
Speaker
yeah There's also a Florida strawberry short shortcake. I don't know what makes it Florida because it just looks like strawberry shortcake. Yeah. no look Yeah. yeah it that It looks, this looks like something I would pick up at the grocery store.
01:03:39
Speaker
Yeah. Pretty basic. Pretty straightforward. um yeah Yeah. yeah not Not doing it for me. Okay, let's ah let's move on to Epcot Farmer Feast menu. Communicore. Yeah, yeah these I think a lot of these are going to be Communicore Hall now. I feel like they're they're trying to to push it as the place for all the stuff. So we have grilled asparagus with pancetta bacon, spring peas, frisee lettuce, truffle sherry vinaigrette, and soft poached egg.
01:04:05
Speaker
That was fancy. it does That looks a little too fancy for me. Yeah, that's so that's ah that's a little, that feels like it's something, it's a monocle ah item right there. Yeah, it is.
01:04:16
Speaker
I mean, I'm going to eat my my tiny, it looks like a tiny little egg on top of some spring mix. We should also mention, too, that this is the early blue menu, which is only March 5th through April 5th. Oh, yes. Yeah, I missed that. and which Actually, that makes me sad because there is also this ah blueberry crumble cake with blueberry lemon zest soft serve and blueberry compote because I can't say blueberry enough times. That looks delicious, man.
01:04:40
Speaker
i bet that blueberry soft serve is really good. i don't I don't know if I've ever seen soft serve that color. but It is a really dark purple. Yeah, I mean. Blueberries do that. like it's Yeah. yeah So the springtime menu there, though, has grilled peaches and burrata with prosciutto, petite lettuce, micro mint and sweet tea, lemon gastrique. That actually kind of sounds good.
01:05:05
Speaker
Grilled peaches with cheese. i I don't know if I can wrap my head around that. Maybe you just got to try it and see what happens. Then we also yeah got warm corn cookie with sweet, sweet corn, soft serve, brulee corn, lime zest and white chocolate.
01:05:23
Speaker
Okay. Corn, corn, sweet corn is something else. I will say. um Yeah, yeah. there There have been some snacks that I've gotten from Japan that are sweet corn that are absolutely amazing.
01:05:35
Speaker
So this could be delicious. Yeah, I can see where like you you immediately go, what do you mean corn soft serve? But I can assure you, like, I feel I know what this flavor is going to be and you want it.
01:05:49
Speaker
Like, yes it's good. We should also note this again. This is only April 6th through May 3rd at this booth. So I'm still not having these. Now we're on yours. Okay, now we're on yours. Okay, F-Cop Farmer Feast menu is... I'm not liking this place now.
01:06:05
Speaker
Stop switching it up so fast. Okay, so may yeah, May 4th through June 2nd, we have heirloom tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and shallot vinaigrette, sourdough croutons, pesto, micro basil, and balsamic pearls. This is so boring.
01:06:20
Speaker
I don't want this. peach doy yeah can we Can we just hold on to the like April 6th to May 3rd? You just want that section? yeah Yeah. that's Well, there's also peach cobbler with cinnamon gelato and streusel topping. That looks pretty good if you're into peaches. like I don't like peach cobbler.
01:06:40
Speaker
of Of the three things that we listed at this booth, like the the blueberries would be great. The sweet corn would be great. I don't like peach colt. Bummer. That's the that's the fine. I'm skipping that one. All right. Skipping that one.
01:06:53
Speaker
Well, the citrus blossom doesn't have anything new outside of drinks, but this does. I mean, citrus blossom feels like a place that you would typically go anyway. I mean, yeah, Temporal Shrimp is good. This is over at the Odyssey, by the way.
01:07:05
Speaker
um Yeah, Temporal Shrimp. There's a citrus-baked brie. um And then there's a plant-based pork thing and a lemon tart. I love a lemon tart. Give me a lemon tart any day. Mm-hmm.
01:07:16
Speaker
Yeah. Ooh, new one. Beach Grub. so Beach Grub is on the walkway between World Showcase and the Imagination Pavilion. and Okay. um I know where that is. Yeah.
01:07:28
Speaker
Yeah. the The very first thing they have is a seafood bake, which I know is not your thing. Not my thing, but maybe yours. Shrimp, mussels, clams, and dewy sausage, red potatoes, corn on the cob, persilade butter, ah white wine broth, and grilled sourdough.
01:07:46
Speaker
I mean, that looks good. I've actually never had a seafood bake before, but I've always seen, like, it looks like something I would really enjoy. Nice. Yeah. Grilled street corn.
01:07:58
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Grilled street corn, savory garlic spread. And it says cheese in parentheses, in a quotation marks, which I assume means it's plant-based cheese. Yes. Yeah. That means I can have it without lactate.
01:08:10
Speaker
Well, it also means that they've ruined it for me. ah but Well, but I'll eat it for you then because yes you're not having it anyway. You can also eat this s'mores bar for me because I would be all about this.
01:08:21
Speaker
Fudge brownie, dark chocolate, toasted meringue, and a smoked graham cracker. It's all on a stick. Give me that. Oof. I feel like that would melt too fast. You think so? yeah Yeah. I feel like in the heat that would like.
01:08:34
Speaker
No, but what's going to melt though? It's not ice cream. It's meringue. the chocolate. Yeah. The chocolate would melt. Yeah. You'd make a mess out of that, but that's why it's on a stick, right? That's fair. Yeah. ah We also have the yacht grub menu. So we have ah they they're doing the beach and yacht club thing.
01:08:50
Speaker
They have the beach menu and they have the yacht menu. Right. Fun. ah So this has a trio of chips and dips, caramelized onion dip, whipped feta dip and pimento cheese with house made potato chips and caviar.
01:09:04
Speaker
Okay. Did it really need caviar? I mean, it it is chips and dip. I mean, I guess you got to zhuzh it up a little bit, you know? And I guess i guess they're trying to sell it as ya yacht and beach clubs, so yeah fine. If you're on a yacht, you're going to have some ah some ah so caviar, right?
01:09:21
Speaker
Yeah. And then there's the meat assorti, which is beef brusciola, prosciutto ham, salami with baby arugula, pickled mustard seeds, tomato jam, truffle oil, and grilled ciabatta.
01:09:33
Speaker
So it's like a charcuterie board, basically. Yeah. I'm going to say between Yacht and Beach Club for their menus, I feel like Beach won. Yeah. like the the The Yacht stuff doesn't... It's not doing anything for me. Because like chips and dip in a charcuterie board, like... Yeah.
01:09:51
Speaker
Okay. Maybe it's really good dip. but It's gotta be like amazing dip. Yeah. Cause it's sorry. It's up against all this other stuff that we're going through. that's That's true. Like I'm not stopping for chips and dip. If I've got everything else, everything else that's on. Yeah.
01:10:08
Speaker
Yeah. um so if we scroll down to trowel and trellis there's nothing new at trowel and trellis they do we definitely talked about these last year i will say the chocolate mousse terrarium is very cool looking although the inclusion of matcha kind of ruins it for me but i know it doesn't for you so yeah it's it's good i know you wouldn't enjoy it but it's good bla um and Brunch cot looks like it hasn't changed either this year. so But still wins the award for best ah booth name in my in my yeah opinion. Brunch cot. And also, if you haven't had the fried cinnamon roll bites with cream cheese frosting and candied bacon, I've had them a couple times now. They are so good.
01:10:47
Speaker
um Trevor, didn't you eat one of those with me? ah was that we no where we thought we shared one of those. No. When we were there? yeah don't remember. it was ah so good that That was such a whirlwind trip. I don't remember everything we did.
01:11:01
Speaker
yeah and this is yeah i remember yeah Actually, because yeah I remember now that the candy bacon was delicious. i felt good yeah That's a really, really good one. I'm glad they kept that one around. but That's over by Test Track ah or the construction area formerly known as Test Track.
01:11:17
Speaker
ah yeah The under-construction area. yeah the under the the play the Where all the walls are. That's where you get to go. um Okay, that's connections. Yeah, connections has a I love i love pronouncing this. So it's a lemon lavender bomb kuchen.
01:11:34
Speaker
Yes, bomb kuchen. I love bomb kuchen with a lavender anglaise, which is they don't have it pictured here, but it's like ah how do you describe a bomb kuchen? It's I don't know. I'm not entirely sure what a bomb kuchen is.
01:11:51
Speaker
I'm going to go. It's like a little cake, but it's like... Oh, okay. It's like made up of rings. it's Yeah, it's like like it's like very thin layers, right?
01:12:02
Speaker
Yeah. So, yeah yeah, it's like it's like a yeah very thin layer cake, which, you know, it's's very very cool, and and i bet it's delicious. And then carrot cake liege waffle with candied pecans and i cream cheese icing, like...
01:12:17
Speaker
How could you go wrong with that? i mean, yeah, it actually looks really nice, too, with the little carrot on top. ah the The little candy carrot. Yeah. I feel like that's just pure sugar and I'm okay with it. Yeah, absolutely. Why wouldn't you? Yeah, I mean, that's absolutely 100%. Yeah, no, that that sounds pretty good.
01:12:33
Speaker
um We have the return of the Honey Bistro, too. Sorry, go ahead. Yeah, i was to say, yeah, Honey Bistro's back with chicken and waffles and... Honey glazed cauliflower. Same as last year.
01:12:45
Speaker
Yeah. So, so, you know, lots of honey based stuff, which is always good. um Yeah. Nothing. It's not a lot new. Yeah. Pineapple promenade or promenade, I guess. Sorry. I should say properly.
01:12:58
Speaker
promenade um Yeah, nothing nothing new there. I'm just looking. ah That's it for the new stuff, man. I'm almost at the bottom. There's no other new stuff. Okay. Except for a La Isla Fresca menu between France and Mexico. mexico I'm like way down the down the road here, though.
01:13:16
Speaker
I was stuck at the Mexico pavilion to see that they had the tacos vampiro, which they don't. Oh, yeah. that You had that, I think, when you were with me. I did, yeah. They don't have them this year, which is a little sad. That's unfortunate. But they do have some shrimp tort or some shrimp tacos, it looks like. What about a chocolate flan? Did you do flan?
01:13:34
Speaker
I've never had a flan before, actually. It looks pretty good. Yeah. i would i would I would eat some of that. And they do actually, or at China, there is a bao bun, which i will I will probably be getting a bao bun.
01:13:47
Speaker
I mean, that's, yeah. they don't I don't see the fruit sushi floating around, though, the frushi, because I know you got that when you were with me the one time. And maybe it's there. i don't Maybe I just haven't seen it yet. That's been there for, like, ever. Ever. Like, i i remember seeing that. There it is. Found it. It's there.
01:14:01
Speaker
Oh, I did find something at Magnolia Terrace menu. Okay. Which is oh yeah it's the American Adventure. It's grilled golf oysters with Cajun andouille sausage butter and lemon.
01:14:14
Speaker
Not an oyster fan. Yeah. i don't know how I... like Even though I like seafood, I don't know how I feel about oysters. Because they they seem a little... little difficult to eat. I say this to my wife all the time. I was like, they look like you're eating snot. like And I just don't. like I feel like the consistency of that in my mouth would be terrific to me.
01:14:34
Speaker
But that's just me. i'm like ah I'm a big texture guy. So big mouthful kind of person. So i there are certain foods that bother me. And something like that would absolutely bother me. I don't think I'd be able to eat that.
01:14:46
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I just, like like of all of the seafoods, I feel like oysters are kind of like, I can, I could leave them. I don't need them. But down, down further in the Japan booth, they do have the frushi, the strawberry pineapple, honeydew wrapped in coconut rice and tricolor soy, which I, my wife has liked. And I know you liked when you had it too.
01:15:05
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, yeah, Fruishi is definitely good. I'm a little sad that there... I mean, I guess that doesn't mean that there always has to be a ton of new stuff, but I'm just a little sad that there isn't quite as many...
01:15:17
Speaker
and new options. like There was more in the California menu there was yeah then than what we've found in Flower and Garden. yeah There are some new ones, though, at this like La Isla Fresca menu. So between France and Morocco, there's a Jamaican jerk chicken with ah pigeon pea rice, roasted sweet plantains, and cinnamon butter.
01:15:36
Speaker
It looks good. I mean, it looks that looks really delicious there. ah There's also a seafood ceviche, which is a shrimp scallops and fish with citrus radis. And was that chalpe? I don't know what that is.
01:15:49
Speaker
I don't know. But I have no idea what that is. But also, there's nothing in there that I want to eat. Maybe you would eat that. But, you know, not me. I'm good. yeah It looks like ah like a seafood salad kind of deal.
01:16:01
Speaker
Yeah. And then there's a coconut chocolate flancocho. Yeah. like coacho yeah sure Right? Yeah. I don't know. Another flan.
01:16:12
Speaker
Yeah. cake Coconut custard, passion fruit, caramel. It is a plant-based option, too. so Okay. I think i might actually try this over the other one because flans have dairy in them, right? Yes.
01:16:25
Speaker
So this is not dairy. Yeah. I think I might explore this one before the other one just to avoid the dairy part of it. Yeah, that's that makes sense. That's fair. ah Looking at France here, nothing new at France, um but you know there's there's ah some of the old stuff that they've had. And I mean, yeah there's some good looking stuff on here, but there's there's nothing new. yeah None that Tom wants to pronounce. I mean, listen, I'm not going to try to pronounce any of this, but a warm chocolate hazelnut ah ah cake always sounds good to me.
01:16:55
Speaker
So you do chocolate hazelnut anything, I'm going to eat it. Gator Chocolat Chocolat a la Noisset, I believe is how you pronounce that.
01:17:05
Speaker
yeah that's that's Listen, I'm glad that you tried. Yeah, I mean, no more friend may i do i do I do use French occasionally, but where I live, that like there's not a lot of French-speaking people, per se, but... You're kind of the main French-Canadian area, right? like No, I'm not. yeah no No, that's Quebec. if you If you want to speak French, you go to Quebec.
01:17:28
Speaker
Exactly. Oh, look, there's a new poutine, Trevor. oh yay. Yeah. province Okay, this one looks a little bit more legit, though, no? um It has some... Well, no, it have curds on it.
01:17:40
Speaker
um ease Seasoned Herb de Provence, seasoned French fries, goat brie, lavender honey, hazelnut croquant, and fresh lavender.
01:17:51
Speaker
That is a really interesting-looking dish. What about this is poutine? Because I don't see anything that... Yeah, but it's missing on the gravy. like like There's no gravy.
01:18:02
Speaker
The goat bria could be like, okay, you're using that to substitute for the cheese curd. Maybe the honey is like a gravy? No, it's not. I'm not saying it is. I'm just saying that's maybe where their mind's at. I don't know.
01:18:14
Speaker
this This is just like fries with flowers on it.
01:18:20
Speaker
Oh, man. I just love every time they put a new poutine on there. just Well, because it's so like... I Why? why do they do they do this? Yeah. ah Well, the this is like if AI was given, like, describe poutine. Make a picture of poutine. Yeah. Give me a recipe for poutine and AI just like, I found some stuff on the floor. Here you go. Yeah.
01:18:48
Speaker
I will say down at the Canada booth, though, the chocolate maple wispy cake looks delicious. like that that's I would eat that for sure.
01:18:59
Speaker
um Just not solid dark chocolate cake. Yep. Yeah. Just that looks delicious to me. And actually, that's that's really it. I think that's it. We we we've finished all of them.
01:19:09
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I think, yeah, that was, that's all of a flower and garden, which yeah, i mean, there, there's definitely a, I need to boot up my app and make notice some of these things for sure. But yeah, like i said, I'm, I'm just a little sad that, but I guess to be fair, flower and garden is not where a lot of the new stuff.
01:19:30
Speaker
Yeah. they saved that out good wine Yeah. yeah So, so I guess that's fair that, you know, you wouldn't get a ton of new stuff in. Yeah. in Flower and Garden. But yeah, I just... I mean, just because I'm actually going to be there, I just wish there was more new stuff. But there's still going to plenty there for me to to try anyway.
01:19:47
Speaker
Well, I'm going to say, like, most... The thing about it is, some of it's not new, but you probably haven't eaten most of it, right? Like... That is true. Yeah, because, I mean, even if it's not new from this year, when's the last time you went to Flower and Garden? Was that with me? mean... Yeah, actually, yeah, you're right. It would have been when you and I were there, which, yeah again, we... I think...
01:20:06
Speaker
Yeah, we had, or I had a couple of things from there. And then, yeah, the last time I went before that was 2018. Yeah, so pretty much all of it is new to you. Yeah, but but to be fair, it feels like because we review this stuff all the time, that it's like, yeah like I know what it is versus like, oh, this is you know something new that I've never, I've not read about or seen before.
01:20:30
Speaker
Yeah. Which is, like, it's fair that I haven't tasted it, but... yeah and And by the way, for those of you out there, we're talking about there's an app out there called Food & Wine. It is not an official Disney app, but I will say it's probably one of the most useful apps I've ever used for Disney.
01:20:46
Speaker
yeah It's super helpful. because ah Yeah, I've used it for um or it's it's for just food festivals in general.

Navigating Disney Festivals with the Food & Wine App

01:20:53
Speaker
It's not just for for food and wine, obviously. yeah You can use it for... um ah You know, Flower and Garden or we we used it for Festival of the Arts as well last year. Yeah. um ah Because it was the same thing that, we you know, we went through and made note of places that we wanted to to try.
01:21:08
Speaker
but yeah, it's just great because, you know, obviously, even as we were going through this list, there is a ton of stuff and I'm going to forget about it by the time. by the time we go. So it's nice to have like a quick, you know, you can, you can prioritize stuff and you can um the the thing I like most about it is that it has the little map where it's like, you can look at world showcase and be like, okay, you know, you know, as I'm walking around, make sure that you're looking for a particular booth because it's so easy to like, there's so many booths and just depending on how you're wandering around Epcot, you could entirely miss some of these booths. So having it like on your map is like, Hey, this is somewhere I should go does make it easier. You know, if I'm like by test track and realize that there's a booth I want to try, um you know, we make sure you go over and actually try this stuff. Right. Cause the one thing I hate is you know, when you go to Disney, it feels like,
01:22:02
Speaker
you or At least for me, because I don't go... or you know i say I don't go enough, but you know I go like every year. but and But you know you yeah kind of get overwhelmed and you forget there's so many different things to try, right? so Well, and that's why the the app is nice, like you said, because you can like literally go through a list of all of the booths and all of the food, and you can just like favorite the ones you want, and then that shows it shows your favorites on the map, so like you can know where you want to go, like you said. So like it's it's a super, super super useful app. um i you know i would One of these days, I want to get the people that created that app on here. We promoted it enough that I want to like talk to them.
01:22:40
Speaker
yeah Yeah, we should. Yeah. So anyway, let's wrap it up. yeah Yeah. um So yeah, um just ah or do a quick plug again for um the meetup that is coming up. So if you guys have not reserved spot yet, go to welcomehomepodcast.com slash 300 event.

Worst birthday ever, guys. Thanks. Yeah, come on. I'm very disappointed. I'm very disappointed. I am. i ruined my whole birthday. We didn't get another review. um for i mean, i I'm going to bet the majority people that listen to our show skip past this part or stop listening before they even get here. So that's probably part of it. but that Which is unfortunate because, you know, i bet if somebody went back and listened, we do try to shake it up every time we do this. So, you know, it's it is different every time. Sometimes it getss really silly at the end, you know. It yeah does. yeah so
01:27:12
Speaker
So I guess if you if you're listening at this point, um you know, reply back to the show. but Okay, what what should be the secret word? The secret word? Yeah. I like it. What's a good one?
01:27:25
Speaker
Does everybody have to scream when you say the secret word? Is that something like, no, we'll not scream. Just, you know, or like write it in the, uh, write it in the, in the, in the group, in the wait list. Um, there you go I like, if you've listened this far, ah I'm, I'm trying to think of a, a reference.
01:27:42
Speaker
Well, yeah either a reference. Well, no, it should just be random, but, just Just say refrigerator. There you go. Okay. Like, yeah, just, just say refrigerator. And then we know that you at least listened this far in the episode.
