Episode 11 - Influencer Check-In with Lauren & Leslie

In Episode 10 of The Influencer Sisterhood Podcast, we’re answering some of the most common questions we’ve received straight from our DMs. From navigating the “messy middle” of influencing to figuring out how to price your work, this episode is a candid conversation about the real challenges creators face as they grow.

We talk about what it’s like to be in that in-between stage—when you’re no longer a brand new creator but you’re not quite landing those big brand deals yet either. What do you focus on when most of your collaborations are gifted or smaller paid partnerships? And how do you keep growing without getting discouraged?

We also tackle the awkward situation every influencer eventually encounters: agreeing to promote a product that arrives and doesn’t quite live up to expectations—whether it’s sizing, quality, or just not something you’d truly recommend. We share how to handle those moments professionally while still protecting your integrity and your audience’s trust.

Finally, we dive into the business side of influencing—how to start thinking about your rate card, what should actually be included in a media kit, and how creators can begin positioning themselves for better paid opportunities. If you’re building your platform, figuring out your value, and navigating the ups and downs of creator life, this episode will feel like sitting in on an honest conversation with friends who get it.

In this episode we cover:
What to do when you’re stuck in the influencer “messy middle”
How to handle brand products that miss the mark
When to start charging and how to think about your rate card
What brands actually want to see in a media kit

Staying authentic while growing your influencer businessBecause the truth is… the middle of the journey is where most creators actually live. And no one talks about it enough. 🎙️

Answering Your Questions from the DMs

In this candid episode of The Influencer Sisterhood Podcast, Lauren and Leslie are pulling back the curtain on something we don’t talk about enough in the influencer world…

What do you actually need to buy to be an influencer?

Because let’s be honest — not everyone is getting gifted boxes and brand deals. A lot of creators are funding their own closets, their own product hauls, and their own content.

So how do you decide what’s worth it?

In this episode, we talk about:

 * Whether you should buy what you personally love… or what you think will convert
 * If there should be a strategy behind what you purchase
 * Learning your audience (and why guessing doesn’t work)
 * Using your affiliate platform analytics to guide smarter buying decisions
 * A real example of a reel Leslie posted that got major views… but very little sales
 * Planning content first and shopping second (versus impulse buying and figuring it out later)
 * Advice for creators who are still growing and trying to understand what their audience actually wants

If you’ve ever stood in a fitting room wondering,
“Do I love this… or will this sell?” — this episode is for you.

This is a transparent, real conversation about strategy, spending, growth, and building a business — not just a closet.

Because influencing isn’t just about having more stuff.
It’s about buying (and creating) with intention.

Content Creation Basics - Ep 6

In this episode of The Influencer Sisterhood Podcast, we’re talking about one of the most uncomfortable (and misunderstood) topics in the influencer world: copying.

It all started when Lauren received a DM accusing her of copying someone else—except… she wasn’t. That moment sparked a bigger conversation about how often this happens, why it happens, and how quickly ego can take over in an online space where trends, sounds, outfits, ideas, and formats are constantly being shared.

We dive into the reality of influencing:
✨ Multiple creators will show the same thing
✨ Trending audio exists for a reason
✨ Inspiration is not the same as imitation
✨ And not everything requires credit or a tag

We talk about when giving credit does matter, when it doesn’t, and how to navigate these situations with confidence instead of comparison. This episode is part real-life story, part mindset check, and part permission slip to stop second-guessing yourself every time you hit “post.”

If you’ve ever worried about being “too similar,” been accused of copying, or felt yourself spiraling over someone doing something that looks like your idea—this conversation is for you.

Because there’s room for all of us. And the internet doesn’t belong to just one person.

Is it copying or influencing? - Episode 5

Influencing isn’t always cute outfits, pretty feeds, and brand deals.

In this candid episode of The Influencer Sisterhood, Lauren and Leslie pull back the curtain on the ugly side of influencing—the rude comments, unsolicited opinions, and moments that make you question why you ever put yourself out there in the first place.

We’re talking openly about:

 * The reality of receiving hurtful or judgmental comments
 * Why rude comments say more about the commenter than they do about you
 * How to stop taking it personally (even when it stings)
 * What actually helps when negativity starts messing with your confidence
 * Practical advice for influencers navigating criticism, hate, or comparison

If you’ve ever read a comment and thought, “Should I quit?”—this episode is for you. Consider it a reminder that you’re not alone, you’re not doing it wrong, and you don’t have to let negativity silence you.

As always, we wrap up with Sister Shoutouts, highlighting two accounts we’re loving this week:

We also chat about her personal fashion style, lessons learned along the way (including a few past fashion faux pas 😬), and wrap things up with a fun round of rapid-fire questions so you can get to know Leslie beyond the grid.

Together, Leslie and Lauren talk about the realities of building an online presence, the lessons learned along the way, and the things no one talks about when you’re just getting started.
