We are so glad that you joined us because we're talking about something important today because I think so many people misunderstand what prayer is and that there's different types of prayer. Yeah. And i was certainly in one- There's a lot. There's a lot. You can't cover everything in one ministry moment, but I think it's important that we start to lay some groundwork and kind of talk through what prayer is I think prayer is talking to

Prayer as Communication vs. Religious Ritual

from the you know in the scriptures now religion has made it so difficult for us to really understand are the other benefit of prayer now to the point that sometimes when people when you ask someone you know do you pray or how do you pray they all always think about their own you know I need something and I have to receive something from heaven. right You know, I have a need. I have my financial need to be met, my health, my home, my loved ones, you know. But it's not... That's that's' that's ah the lesser part of a prayer. Prayer, it is a communication. Communicating with your, you know, deity, your heavenly Father. And also allow Him to speak back to you.

it is okay it's part of all you know the kingdom that we should pray jesus said ask for we are your daily bread yes but but god doesn't want you to every day know just to stay in that stage when it comes to prayer you will have to grow up yeah jesus said to pray to the lord of the harvest right that he would send laborers into the field he gives um instructions in the new testament that we're to pray for kings, for those that are in authority. There are very specific things. Paul requested that the church pray for them to have boldness. So, when you look at everything, right, yeah there are a lot of things that we're supposed to be praying for. So, yes, absolutely, we should pray for our needs, but as people of prayer, there are other things that we should be praying for. That's why Yeah, you can pray for you you can pray for your city. You can pray for your state. You can pray for your loved one. You can pray for your neighbor. I love that the scripture says that in the book of Revelation that God had collected the prayers of the sentence saints, and it was a sweet-smelling savor, right? When you pray, it is a sweet aroma to God. yeah it You know, sometimes we don't realize... know, that means that God wants to hear your voice. Yeah, He likes me. Yeah.

Yes. because they understood the position, the authority that they they have placed them. They don't beg for anything. Whatever they say, whatever they decree, that's what needs to happen. Wow, thank you, Lord. And priest means that you are making intercession. you are You are bridging the gap between heaven and people on this earth. Yeah. All right? You are bringing the message from God to the people, and also you are taking the message from the people to the heavenly, you know, the Creator. So... Well, you know, and you're when you're saying that, it just reminded me, Samuel, the prophet, when the people said, please don't stop praying for us. and he said he would not sin against God in ceasing to pray pray for the people. Wow, you think about that. He said, I won't sin against God in ceasing to pray for you. And the Bible tells us that we're supposed to pray without ceasing. We have a mandate to pray. Now, pressure is part of the journey. Challenges is part of it. So there's nothing that you are going through that God is surprised or is not. It's too difficult for you. right Everything, you need to trust God's character. Yes. All right. God is so faithful. Yes, and He has seen you to be to be so healthy, to be strong, yeah and to prosper in all your ways. what so And you know, really quickly, I was just going to say, it i wanted to share this quick, because God has a plan for you. When Jesus died on the cross, it wasn't just so you could spend eternity with Him. Ephesians 2, Chapter 10 says, for we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He had planned for us long ago. So I want to encourage you with that. no matter what you've done, no matter what's happened, when you accepted Jesus as your Savior, it says that when God made you a new creature, it was so you could do the works, good works, He had planned for you long ago.
