Speaker: Good morning. Good afternoon. Sorry. Wow. wait Well, who you want to rock, paper, scissors for it? Oh, yeah, we can see each other now. Yeah. The rules are one, two, three, go.

Speaker: Right. OK. Yeah. Right. One, two, three, go go that Oh, you got me. I got I got scissors. Nice. OK, good morning. Good afternoon and good scissors. Ladies, gentlemen, non-binary folks versus no, no, no. And this is that's our Q or Q for short, where we take your cues and we turn them into delicious little A's. Today, I'm joined by Danny Guarantee, who is coming at you live from his room. Danny, what's the weather like over there?

Speaker: Hey, I'm Danny Guarantee. And you know what the weather is looking like? Right. Cloudy with a chance of losing rock, paper, scissors. Oh, on to you, Adam.

Speaker: Thank you, Danny, for that exhilarating report. So now we go to you with questions. But before we do questions, let's just do a little little little check in with the audience. I hope you're all doing great.

Speaker: I hope you find audience. And if you're not doing good, that's OK. Hopefully after listening to this, you feel a little less shitty than you did before. And if you're feeling good, just like I thought you would.

Speaker: Yeah. Those are words that are near and dear to my heart. um OK, so you want to just get into the question today, Danny, or? let's just Yeah, let's just jump right in and do it. OK, we'll let the conversation flow as we go. I'm sure.

Speaker: So this is from the Ask Reddit ah threads and subreddit is what they call them, I believe. um Is that correct, Danny?

Speaker: Yes, it is called a subreddit. Then there's Dom Reddits that are on a different part of the website. Um, this is from call me meme one.

Speaker: Call me meme. What is an invention that does not exist yet, but you wish someone would invent right now? But I want to twist this question just a little bit to like, will you wish someone would invent or you wish that you could invent? Because there's some things that like I got ideas for that I wish I could just do.

Speaker: OK, then you go first, because I got to think. um you gotta think i gotta think something i wish somebody where i would invent yeah like i have one well i have a few probably um but there's one where like i wish that like i think like in the year 2026 that like washing and drying clothes sometimes seems like it could be more efficient Like, I don't know. I just feel like I should be able to put my like, even if I take my clothes out of the washer and they're as fun as they can be, i wish I could just flash heat them and they'd be instant dried.

Speaker: You know, like I just throw them in the dryer instead of it running for 60 minutes, like cranking up all my electricity and just spitting out that hot air and sometimes not hot enough air.

Speaker: um I wish you could just flash heat because we can flash freeze a lot of things. Like, can we scientifically flash heat something? And, you know, i'm thinking about it like food, too, instead of like the microwave, which is the closest to flash heating we probably get, you know,

Speaker: Could you just put them and it's cooked you just put it in some sort of kiln and you say this needs to reach, I don't know, 175 degrees just goes and then like, boom, it's cooked all evenly all around. Like, you know, a laser fires into it and then just like plasma warms it up.

Speaker: Like plasma heating, plasma drying. But what? don Aren't you afraid you'd burn whatever it is? Well, that's what saying. Whatever the technology would be that would make that like seamless. you know It might not be perfect at first, but you know like with the dry, we get back to dry and close.

Speaker: There has to be a better way, because you're throwing all your clothes into a big box, right a big cube, and you're saying, all right, tumble them around and blow hot air on them like a dragon for the next 60 minutes. right And that should do it. Sometimes it doesn't if it's extra moist in there, like you're drying blankets or something.

Speaker: Um, you know, but it'd be cool if it was like, okay, you know, instead of maybe throwing it in like a tumbler, which is circular, you know, you throw it on just like, it's like this cube like thing and they all just stack on top of each other. just like a plate.

Speaker: And you shut it and you say, all right, instant dry. And it just like heats up almost like a microwave, but it's evenly distributed heat throughout the entire thing. And it just bakes your food. Yeah, your food. You guys put food in there. It bakes your clothes. It bakes your clothes. And then by the forever of boom, you know, I don't know. Or if not, ins if not flash heat.

Speaker: Maybe something like a larger version of an oven where you just put your clothes on there instead and it doesn't get to temperatures of it's not meant to cook. It's just meant to dry. I don't know.

Speaker: I just feel like I hate that I have to like remember to go do my laundry in the first place. I hate that I have to wait for the washer to be done. And then I hate that I have to transfer it into another box that's usually right beside it.

Speaker: Unless you have to go to a laundromat, in which case that's a whole thing. Laundromats would so much more efficient if you could just chuck your shit in there, hyperheat it, and then take it out and go Honestly, I would be fine if you just had a washer-dryer combo.

Speaker: Just one thing, you throw the clothes in, you tell it, all right, wash the clothes, then do the heat to dry the clothes all in one box. and Yeah, sucks all the water out, and then all the heat comes in where the water went out, and it's like, zoop. Like, yeah, one-stop shop for washing and drying?

Speaker: Like, why doesn't that exist yet? Yeah. Why don't we have? i'm sure there's a reason. Yeah, some sort of machine that does that same with washing dishes. I hate fucking washing dishes. Oh, yeah, me too. Like if and I know and I know the dishwasher does do this for the most part where it'll wash it and then like over time it'll dry it. When you take it out, it should be OK to be put away or just might need a light. What rubbing?

Speaker: But like even that it's not perfect. It costs a lot of energy to do. But if we could at least have something like a dishwasher for clothes, one less appliance, less energy used, less time consumed.

Speaker: Why don't we have that? I wish there was a way to get like a whole bunch of little dishwashers where my cabinets are. So when I'm done eating, I can just put the plate back in the cabinet and then it gets washed.

Speaker: Oh, like in just right there. So then you can just pull it right back out and you're done. Oh, man. Dishwashing cabinets would. What a concept. You know, they do make ah because Hitch has one that um I have a love hate relationship with.

Speaker: Hitch has a like mo um a miniature dishwasher. It's like a little cube. i don't know. It's probably like the size of like a small old fashioned TV, maybe a little bit bigger.

Speaker: um And it can fit maybe like, I don't know. eight plates and a couple bowls and some silverware in it. But they use it pretty frequently. But what you have to do is you have to like, pour water in some container and fill it up a couple times.

Speaker: So you have to provide the water. That's not bad, yeah. Yeah. So there be something like that, except it would be your cabinets. And then you just maybe pour water or maybe filter throw some sort of hose up into your cabinets to do it.

Speaker: That would be cool. That would be pretty cool.

Speaker: Have you thought of one that you would like to see? I did, and I don't think it'll ever actually exist. But it's the... What is it called? like the The synthesizer from Star Trek or something?

Speaker: Since all matter is like broken down into energy at the end of the day, i want something that can... I can just put my trash in. It breaks it all the way down to energy and then reconstitutes it as food...

Speaker: Whatever, you know, whatever I want it to be water, food, just whatever. Sure. No more trash, no more waste. You just throw it in there, it gets broken down and then reconstituted as something good.

Speaker: That's what I want. That would be too. That can't be that hard, right? Even if we had it, i don't think the capitalists would want us to have it. No, like absolutely not. you're like oh Well, that's why Star Trek, I believe, was like a perfect socialist system or something like that. Yeah.

Speaker: Money didn't even exist or something. Yeah.

Speaker: I'm

Speaker: trying to think. Yours are a lot more realistic than mine is. You think so? i do. I think that that could happen. I did hear that there are people that have made like.

Speaker: Hydrogen cars and stuff, that would be pretty cool. So instead of gas, you just fill it with water and and it breaks the water into hydrogen and burns that. That would be cool.

Speaker: That would have also be pretty neat. Like, oh, gas stations. Oh, we can't wield the prices of gas against people. Oh, no. How terrible. You know, I just read one of the comments that I think um I really enjoy is someone said a microwave, but for cold.

Speaker: oh interesting. Now, i know that that like professional kitchens and stuff have like blast chillers, especially if they but a lot of time it's meant to cool things down, but they could use it to like immediately make something cold.

Speaker: Um, but a lot of times it's like for soups and stuff, and a lot of kitchens don't have one. I learned that in my serve safe class at like some kitchen, big kitchens have blast chillers. Um, But it would be cool if there was like a setting on your microwave where you're like, actually, i need to cool this down so I can put it in the fridge or I need to cool this down because this pie is too hot and I don't want to wait to eat it.

Speaker: Yeah. You know, so you just put it in like the the microwave, but like you turn it on the cold setting and instead it, you know. I actually did something like that. And um when I went to work, I would make coffee, but I don't like scalding hot coffee.

Speaker: I want to drink it like now. So I added some cold batteries to it, also known as ice cubes. I would throw in like a couple ice cubes just to take the edge off.

Speaker: Great idea. If you don't like ah like super hot coffee and you want to be able to drink it sometime soon, just throw like two or three ice cubes in there. um I also want to make sure everybody knows if you've seen this question on Reddit or...

Speaker: ah look up the question because of this episode. I want to assure you we did not read the comments beforehand because both of our answers are in the comments. Are they really? i only just started scrolling. Adam, yours is the very top comment.

Speaker: Dirty clothes in one end, clean and folded, and sorted by the wearer out the other end. So not exactly, but washing machine. to Wait, dirty clothes in one end, clean, folded, and sorted by wearer. Sorted by wearer?

Speaker: So they're saying the dirty clothes would go in one end and then they would come out all clean and folded and folded. Yeah. And sorted by where like whose clothes they are. Oh, my God. How would you do that? I have no idea. But you know what? Coin machines work.

Speaker: but i mean Yeah, that's true. I i guess it'd probably be like, I don't know if they can sort of by wearer, but they could probably sort it by garment. You know, like a little ways down. I see the Star Trek replicator, which is exactly what I was talking about. Oh, I didn't see that.

Speaker: Yeah. By Malakon seven hours ago. said oh that's so fucking funny. I promise you we did not read the comments. I found it. Yeah. And the holodeck.

Speaker: And the holodeck, which would be very cool too. That is really funny. um yeah that's really yeah i just like kind of came back to the thing and i was like i wonder what other people are saying because like i don't know i have like some silly ones but i saw that one about the cold box and i was like oh that's a good idea i scrolled right past that but you're right it's literally like you're right it's literally both of our answers are right there right their wish list is way like more specific theirs is like They want the machine to do fucking everything because they don't want to even I hate folding clothes. I'll be honest. But like, I can't imagine letting a machine do it for me. and it's like good. You know what I would like is. um

Speaker: I would like somebody to invent a new way to capture energy, because right now. Whether you're burning coal or using a nuclear reactor at the end of the day, what you're doing is heating up water and then using the steam to turn a turbine.

Speaker: And that feels woefully inefficient. So like, I would love it if you just get in a quick workout. in I forget that we're on camera sometimes and you can see me doing this.

Speaker: I fidget a lot when we're not when we weren't using a camera before. So I'm just, I'm very gently curling a five pound weight, like on my wrist. Cause I injured it a while back and that it was recommended. That just threw me shrink so far off the rails. I was like, Oh, I'll do this real quick. So I don't have to, if I talk and do it, I won't do it.

Speaker: But if I'm not talking, I can concentrate on doing it and listen to you. but Sorry, you, you go ahead and and do your weight. I promise for calling you out. I didn't mean to. No, I'm not embarrassed at all. I just like I didn't. I forgot you could see me do this. Oh,

Speaker: oh if I knew you were going to wear your Dan shirt, I would worn one of my Adam shirts. Dan the man. He has a Dan the man shirt on and have several shirts to have my name on it. I didn't think to wear one. It's Adam the man. You am going to a party this evening. I could try to wear one.

Speaker: Now, there's one that says Adam Limited Edition on it. Which is pretty funny. Very limited. Yeah. And I have one that just somebody made out of like Marvel colors. It says Adam, but I've worn it so much and it's wearing off a lot. Mm I think I've seen you wear that shirt before.

Speaker: You have. I used to wear the shit out of it, and that's why it's so faded now. And then I have another one that one of my clients' moms made for me that it's a little bit big, which is why I don't wear it as much. But it's my name made out of crayons. And then when I went to school with her kid, because I was like an assistant for him, he had one that had his name on it, and I had one that had my name on it. Oh, that's cool. Yeah.

Speaker: Anyway, I digress. You were talking about something. No, it's fine. I'm sorry. Right now, energy and creation is mostly just turning turbines with steam. I would love to find a better way to do that. Like, I don't know. Do we have... What was the movie?

Speaker: it's ah I doubt it actually exists, but The Core, I think it was called, where a team had to drill down to the core of Earth, and they were talking about how the hull of this drill that they were using was made out of special material.

Speaker: that converted heat and pressure into energy, throw that into a nuclear reactor. So all the heat and energy given off by splitting the atoms and everything is captured directly rather than used to heat water and capture it by spinning turbines.

Speaker: If that makes sense. I don't know. I'm not a thermophysicist or whatever. So a thermonuclear physicist or...

Speaker: hu I count for a living. so Yeah, I mean, I can see that. like There's got to be ways, because like there's a lot of... like i think kinetic energy in general has to be able to be harnessed in some way. yeah know yeah like This is kind of a weird reference, but in the first... like Mortal Kombat got kind of like a a reboot a few years ago.

Speaker: I haven't seen the second one, but the first one... they build up to the tournament in the first movie. And the main character is this guy named Cole, who nobody likes because they're like, why the fuck am I watching this guy when I want to watch my favorite Mortal Kombat characters fight each other? Yeah, Sub-Zero.

Speaker: So, you know, this poor guy who got this gig is like, yeah, i'm really excited. I'm in a Mortal Kombat movie. Nobody likes him just because they're like, you're not a character. So, you know, bummer for that guy. a But spoiler alert, he gets royally wrecked in the second movie.

Speaker: um But he gains like a power in the movie. um I forget what they call it, where like you're you have like the sign of Mortal Kombat on your arm and like if someone kills you, then they take it.

Speaker: So he already had one. And at some point, if you if when the need comes, a power awakens and that's how like Kano can shoot fucking lasers out of his eyes and shit. um So his is like he gets a um

Speaker: He gets a like a kinetic armor that like as something hits it, it powers him up to. Enhance his attacks and stuff like it takes the kinetic energy. and you Right. And so then that's how he beats like his enemies at the end is like they pound on him and then his armor starts to glow and then he does it. i was like, it'd be cool if there's something like that.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. ah You are orange right now on our recording, and I don't know why you are. says your recording is being saved locally, so hopefully that means you'll get it by the end of this recording. So we'll see. We'll see if this conversation complete. I want to be blue, not orange. I like blue. We'll see. It says it's being recorded locally, so as long as we.

Speaker: We'll see. Hopefully, whatever it looks normal on my end. Right. Well, then good. Then you can just send me that if I don't have the complete file. These are just things that happen sometimes when you record remotely, folks. you know But yeah, it'd be cool if there was something like you know they could build some sort of machine that like a robot just beats to shit out of like some sort of coils and like they heat up and then like boom, energy. you know Or if the machines aren't functioning, then like there's people who are on standby who come in with bats and they're just like, alright, we're just going to hit these coils with our bats for an hour or two and get paid and then

Speaker: Yeah, that's the new like instead of working at a power station. Your job now is just beat up this wall with a bat. Yeah. I mean, honestly, what about? Oh, ah you know, those flashlights that you shake and then like that's how they are.

Speaker: Like, why don't we have that on a bigger scale? Or do we we do? That's kind of what the turbines do instead of going back and forth to create friction. It spins. Right, but why don't we just have a bunch of people helping to shake a... You know?

Speaker: you know Actually, you know what I would do? I doubt I could trust humanity with this idea, but the Matrix... ah But while you're sleeping.

Speaker: Make it so that when I go to bed at night, I don't know, the bed like absorbs some of my the electrical signals from my body and uses it to power things.

Speaker: It wouldn't be much per person, but. When everybody's sleeping, it charges giant batteries. Then you wake up, you get up, you know, kind of like charging pad for your phone, but the opposite.

Speaker: Yeah. The other way. Well, as you recharge, so do your devices. Yeah, I don't need it. I'm sleeping. That would be interesting to be like, oh, my phone only charged 50%.

Speaker: fifty percent That means I didn't sleep as well. I didn't sleep well. you know Or would it charge better because you're like restless, you're moving around? i was going to say, yeah. Creating even more.

Speaker: Maybe if you're tossing and turning a lot, maybe that kinetic energy transfers into your bed better. So like whether you're a good sleeper or a bad sleeper, you're still you're still storing energy to use.

Speaker: um That's like some abiotic factor shit.

Speaker: I was thinking of playing that again. You know, being scientists, I still have Yeah, don't know what we did last. Yeah. Would you want to start a new game on that?

Speaker: Maybe like beat it. Well, I mean, why do we to start a new one? We already have progress. Oh, because I don't remember where we were. That's true. We could just continue. I mean, anyway, see we can see not here or there. Yeah, not here or there. Abiotic factor. Get it on Steam. Not a great game.

Speaker: um But yeah, um Trying to think there's anything else that like day to day, like if there was something that could just teleport my my my bodily waste elsewhere. So I didn't have to like I know we have a sewer system, but I mean, like if I could just while I'm sleeping, all of my all of my urine and matter can just be zapped away into another realm.

Speaker: <unk> I'll one up that just teleportation in general. and I don't have to go somewhere. i want to just I'm there. But I understand the whole.

Speaker: ah Philosophical thing of like, is it still you? Right, like you like, you know, like near automata where like it's essentially just like copies of you that you're transferring like you're.

Speaker: your consciousness to. or is it like, do I die? And then another me is reconstituted there. That be interesting, though, if we had like, if we were able to.

Speaker: a realistic way to do this. would be to transport our consciousness through like ah a Bluetooth or a Wi-Fi, some sort of satellite internet network to some sort of machinery elsewhere.

Speaker: Right? Like for me, going to work would be plugging myself into my VR set and logging in and then like... my conscience is feeling like me being in a different body. So I'm controlling like a robot somewhere or I'm controlling some sort of device somewhere.

Speaker: And like, that's me at work. Right. So then it wouldn't be exactly teleportation, but I would I would be there without being there. It'd be like projection. like Right. If there was some machine version of like astral projection.

Speaker: Right. Like now the more futuristic way would be like a Futurama style where like we are like seeing our physical selves in a virtual space while being not there. Or like remember that episode where they where they went inside Fry's colon and they had like little robot versions of themselves that like they sent in while the other ones were like in like these little beds. Yeah.

Speaker: It would be something like that where like we could. Now I doubt we'd be able to have like unless it's digital, of course, doubt we'd be able Make that a video game, kind of like Sword Art Online.

Speaker: Sure. Where, like, I go to sleep at night. I can hook myself up to this thing. My body goes to sleep, but my mind goes into a video game, and I can just play that for eight hours, live in this whole separate world, and then dread the morning when I have to wake up back in this bullshit world and go to work.

Speaker: before I can come home and go back to the world I actually like being in. But that would be your world, though. you would But in this case, it would be... you would be it would essentially be a video game, but that you got paid to do.

Speaker: But it wouldn't be like, oh, I'm doing all this fun stuff. It's like, oh I'm doing my job, but like my body doesn't have that physical labor on it. Well, that it really it just comes down to, would you rather your normal body be the one working, or...

Speaker: Like you're saying do the work at night and then play during the day. I'm saying do the work during the day and play at night. Well, no, I'm still saying do the work during the day, but you're still doing a virtual version of yourself.

Speaker: Like I'm still like I could just sit in my chair and control like a robot may. A robot you or something that you, like whatever your function was. Like it's not, it wouldn't be conceptually anyway. It's not a far cry from just like, you know, people who can work on a shared spreadsheet virtually, right? Like multiple people now can go into a web version of Excel and access the same spreadsheet before you had to send them to somebody, you know, um to to look at and edit and they'd send it back.

Speaker: yeah. so it would be something like that where like you would be in like this virtual space, but maybe like it's more three dimensional or you're, or again, you're tapped into,

Speaker: I don't know, like maybe you're maybe you fly a drone for some company and like you're tapped into. I am the drone and I'm flying around fucking, you know, Trenton, New Jersey, you know, or Washington, D.C. or fucking, I don't know, some other metropolis and being like, I'm security, you know, you know, what would be cool that I would absolutely adore is, you know how like a lot of these companies were like, oh, you could get paid to play video games.

Speaker: when like nfts and all that came out right instead of that because you can make the game whatever you want right like you could do whatever so let me remote control a robot or whatever to do some menial task but make a video game out of it like i don't even see the robot doing the task i'm playing a cool video game.

Speaker: And as I'm playing, what I'm actually doing without even realizing it is making the robot do stuff. I'm having a great time. I get paid because the work is getting done. Everybody wins.

Speaker: Yeah, I think i think as long as. Just make it like a Mario Party game, you know, so it looks all fun and cheerful. But all you're doing is pressing left and right over and over again. And you're making a robot pick things up and put it down over here.

Speaker: But you don't see that. You see Mario Party. Yeah. I mean, there is a way that you could be training a robot to like recognize those kinds of reactions. But...

Speaker: But there's also like the real things of like how many video games right now are out there that are essentially just jobs. Right. Like X simulator, power wash simulator, truck driving simulator, gardening simulator, farm simulator. Yeah. Have those jobs. But let me control something that's doing it for real.

Speaker: Right. The only the only caveat to that for safety wise would be for people to make sure that they understand that they are not. Playing a video game, playing a video game. And that's like what their their kind of their actions have real consequences of. They're like, oh, I'm I'm farm simulator and I ran over a cow with the tractor that actually happened and you did a bad, bad thing. yes Remember, you are not playing Grand Theft Auto.

Speaker: Right. Like you're navigating real life things. And, you know, there's now there's probably some danger to that in some degree, but I think. But yeah, but i but that's how I think.

Speaker: teleportation would would again it wouldn't be teleportation of the body be teleportation of the mind but like in this case it wouldn't and be truly be teleportation it's just remote work on a grander scale yeah you know but like but yeah but it would feel real enough that like you're in the office without being in the office like a virtual office where like you know think like dale and dawson Right.

Speaker: But we put on our headsets and we're just walking around and it's like we are in the the office. Like my commute is putting on the headset. Now you're getting dangerously close to the metaverse again. It would be close to the metaverse, sure.

Speaker: But it's not. But the point isn't to like try to like. Sell you shit. Right. It's not meant to be. this faux social network that's, oh, it's meant to connect to African kids with American kids and anybody from the world can make friends. I get the sentimentality of like, oh, I'm someone who's bedridden and this is how I can leave my bed. like I understand where that comes from, but like we don't believe in alien like Mark Zuckerberg. And I don't mean alien in any other way other than that he is from space, like trying to learn how to be a human. Yeah, not the kind of alien like Elon Musk is.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly. um You know, someone who's just like, hey, I'm trying to portray portray a human in. Yeah. Am I doing it? um You know, his his his motivations are not so altruistic, despite what he may say.

Speaker: But like, I think in this particular case, like if we were to have something like that, it would be like a virtual office space. But the point is. to do work. But you're right. You make a good point. Someone's going to start advertising to you. They'll be like, all right, you can take your 15 minute break.

Speaker: And then like, it's just like, did you know that McDonald's makes a digital Big Mac? Yeah. If you purchase one of these, you get. You have to watch all 15 minutes of ads.

Speaker: Otherwise, they pause if you look away. And if it pauses, that means you're not getting back from your break on time, which means you get in trouble. Right, like if you take your headset off, they'll be like...

Speaker: Oh, well, your ads are still there, and and then you're going to get a demerit for work because you haven't seen your ads yet. and It took you 17 minutes to watch your 15-minute ad break. Right, because you got up to go actually do something in real life.

Speaker: So that it would be dystopian for sure. like I think it would be tough to do that, but I wouldn't trust if if if if anyone on Earth said, hey, we have a teleporter and we'll show you how it works, and even if they stepped through one and came out the other side like a thousand miles away, I still wouldn't trust it.

Speaker: I remember that means they're going to be fucking building that shit to send there. They'll use that for the military before they make that universal for us all to use. Oh, absolutely. Nothing like teleporting nukes to brown countries. Anyway. Right. Danny.

Speaker: ah Sorry. I'm 100% against that shit. i mean, you're right, though. But there was a video game a while back, and this is what drove home the whole like teleportation. Is it really you idea for me?

Speaker: before Nier Automata. It was a game where you started out teleporting into this building, right? And you're doing your tasks, you're doing whatever you're supposed to do throughout the game, and you're uncovering a hidden story or whatever that you are not the original. You are basically a perfect copy With all the memories and everything of the original.

Speaker: And that's how they did teleportation. And the actual original version of you. Died. So like. And the whole point of the game was. What happens to the consciousness. Like.

Speaker: If I create a computer version. If I scanned my mind perfectly into a computer. Gave it all of my memories. As far as. That version of me is concerned. It is.

Speaker: Me. It's always been me. And it went from here to there. Right. But my version of the mind stops at that copy. So if then I was destroyed, the me that is me would cease to exist and a new me would take over. Does my consciousness move or do I just me die?

Speaker: And that me moves on. It's a crazy concept. It's a crazy idea. And it makes me very scared for teleporting if it ever does become a thing. Yeah, that's interesting. Because it's like, how would you even know?

Speaker: Imagine if every time somebody teleported, they just died. And a new version of them came out was like, yeah, no, that I remember being over there and now I'm here. Well, is it that when you teleport, the old body has to die?

Speaker: Well, that's what teleporting would be, right? you'd You'd break it down on one spot and remake it in another. Otherwise, you're moving from one to another. It's not teleporting.

Speaker: If you're moving from one to another, if you were to take all of Adam's atoms, break it down.

Speaker: and then move them to point B and remake it, you've moved. It's not teleporting. You were taken No, i'm saying, but, like, why would I die? I would just be projecting into a different... Well, in your version, you would be.

Speaker: Yeah. In my version, it's actual teleportation where I am no longer in A, I am now in B.

Speaker: Right. In your version, your body stays in A. And you're just projecting your consciousness to another body in B. ah In my version, A is gone completely and B is now there.

Speaker: So it would be like mine, but you die? Well, that's what I'm asking. Do you? Would you? That's the big theory with teleportation that makes it like scary. is like But nobody would know because the B version of you would have all the memories from a So to be, it would just be like, yeah, I was there and then I teleported to here and it worked fine.

Speaker: But the A version of you actually died then. And if you're the A version, what happens to your consciousness? Do you actually just die or does your consciousness somehow move to be?

Speaker: i mean, yeah, I think it depends. It's getting crazy. Yeah, I think it would be like, are the is what you're teleporting to organic?

Speaker: Is it a perfect itsy of you it's a perfect copy of you? of you. So it's it's perfectly organic. All of the synapses in your mind are perfectly arranged just as they were. So you have all of the memories.

Speaker: I still have ADHD when I tell ADHD. I'm sorry. But then what happens if. You didn't die in the first teleporter. Now there's to use, you know what I mean?

Speaker: Right. In that case, I'm just thinking the one is just a shell of a person without consciousness until you send it back. But if consciousness is just the biological functions of the brain, if it's replicated perfectly, you would it would have consciousness.

Speaker: That's the big question. If I guess sent it to something else, the big question, I guess, is yeah does the soul exist? Is there some other part of the human anatomy that's not purely biological? Right.

Speaker: That would move from A to B to give it that consciousness, that sense of self. Or if that's all just biological purely. It would get copied along with every other biological biological thing.

Speaker: And the other you be you would be like, yeah, I'm also Adam. I am just Adam. Can I tell you what I think about the soul? Sure. That I don't think this I don't think there is one.

Speaker: OK, I don't think it's a separate thing. I think what we perceive as the soul is just like our collection of feelings that obviously all come from the brain. It's just that like different things mean different stuff to us. So that's why some things will tap into the soul for others. And it's like there isn't a universal thing that taps into the soul. You know, like a lot of people say music is probably the closest thing.

Speaker: But even then, it depends on the kind of music. Right. Not every song and not every style, not every instrument will connect with a person the same way. like It's because they feel it on a very spiritual and deep level that they call that the soul.

Speaker: I personally, if there's anything that I think separates us from our body, if we were to, you know, die or like become some sort of shell, is that I do think that we generate energy that can be left behind for something else to consume. Right.

Speaker: I don't think is necessarily a spirit, but I do think that like we do generate a ah lot of electrical energy inside of our bodies. we have electrons all around us, all through us. I do think that we share that with a lot of things and like maybe some of our energy transfers into something else.

Speaker: But and that so in that vein, if consciousness, I think it's just like wherever it is. Right. It's if I transferred my consciousness into something else, all of my energy is still left behind that my body, my current husk of a body is still generating.

Speaker: But like whatever my thoughts, feelings, desires, everything else, that body is just a shell now. That's just a thing filled with organs like it's just empty. It's ah it's a baby essentially, but doesn't have a baby body.

Speaker: But if if your emotions and everything are just connections in your brain and they get copied, Now, if they get, then there's just two of me.

Speaker: That's what I'm saying. Like there's two, there's two perfect, but now if in, in, in the purest form, if like I got copied right now and then the next person next to me, if I got copied right now and the next person next to me, and if I got copied right now and the next person next to me, right. In those brief moments. And that wasn't a glitch. That was on purpose.

Speaker: Um, yeah, And those brief moments were like 99.9% the same person. The only difference is we're all now looking at each other of like, am I having a freak out because I see other me's? you know like and like So now we're having now we're we're probably going to experience the same magnificent existential dread different like the same because we have the same brain. right But what happens after that, depending on who decides to take charge, which will probably be all three of us or two of us at the same time,

Speaker: But if, you know, and then I don't know what logic goes after that because I don't think we'll be saying the same things because ADHD makes me say all sorts of things I don't know I'm going to say. But if I am, if I am perfectly copied elsewhere and then I am a big believer that like your environment, you know, more than anything will shape who you are, obviously. Like some people think you're just born to be a certain kind of person. I'm not of that mind, um you know.

Speaker: So now if you transport me to England and now there's an English version, there's a version of me that's going to be around English people for the next 10 years. And I don't know that.

Speaker: Then that gradually turns into a different version of me. So at some point that might be a different person entirely because. At which point you'd basically just be a twin of yourself. Right. We would be twins. You would be twins. You're two different people but genetically the same.

Speaker: Right. We would be twins that have a shared history up to a certain point. And then we deviated paths, you know? So yeah, at that point, yeah, you're right. You would just be a biological twin that has a weirdly shared history the n experience the same emotions. But if clone me or twin me, I should say, experiences 10 years alongside, you know, my life existence, say we live to be, I'm 38 now, we live to be 48.

Speaker: He spends 10 years in England. His life experiences are different. My life experiences are different. We'll have different things to talk about the way he sees the world, understands it, speaks languages, consumes information.

Speaker: ah You know, who knows? He might show up to be some, you know, highly sophisticated, you know, critic of America. And I'm some London Adam.

Speaker: Yeah, he might be like, you see the peasantry that is the the its The Adam of America. And I know me that if I spend enough time around an accent, I'll adopt it.

Speaker: Yeah. So like there's a good chance. But poorly. You're right. Poorly. But there's a good chance that twin me is going to pick up an accent while he's over in England. Right. And then like you'll be able to tell us the part better because he'll dress different and talk different. So all that to say in the way that I understand and think about the world is that like if you transfer your full consciousness as a copy, and then they experience a world separately from you, then that's a different person.

Speaker: They just have a shared history that you have. But, Again, if we i don't the only thing I can't answer is I don't know what would happen if there was twin me and he just appeared right beside me and someone just said, all right, control C, control V blip. There he is. And we're just like, I don't know.

Speaker: i feel like we'd get along great. But like I would. hit Oh, my God. The world with two items. but we But I think immediately we'd be able to observe what the other one's doing to be like, what do I do in conversations? I'm going to be a silent witness. Does my ass really look like that?

Speaker: Honestly, that'd be part of it's like, shit, is that how I look? Because I've only ever seen myself in a mirror and in video. You know, I've never seen all these angles live before. That would be wild. I hate that.

Speaker: Yeah. And then if we jerk each other off, it would be just masturbation. That's just masturbation. That's yeah. Yeah. You know, eventually it would it wouldn't be it wouldn't be gay until he went to live his own life.

Speaker: And then and then it'd be incest because I was going to say that's incest, which is which is worse. You know, so like, you know, there's nothing wrong with being gay, but incest, we have a problem. um So, yeah, I don't know. Does any of that make sense? Like, unlike it does. Yeah. yeah I don't know if you feel the same, but that's how I perceive my consciousness.

Speaker: My my big issue would be if instead of control CV in order to make a new you, they did XV cut. and Right. The difference is so new you is made. And at the same instant, you are destroyed.

Speaker: What would destroy me, though? Is it my body is there, but just my brain doesn't work now? Every particle of you is just Like it separates you and at the end at the atomic level. You just separate. Oh, so you're so you're still talking about true teleportation. Yeah.

Speaker: Well, I'm just going back to that's what I was saying. but Oh, I misunderstood. i thought you were saying that, like, similar to mine, except when the consciousness and is transported from body a body a just dies.

Speaker: Like, not that it turns into nothing. No, no, it's gone. It gets disintegrated down to atoms. For what purpose? Like, so the atoms are being teleported?

Speaker: No, the atom, it just, it breaks you down in one spot, turns you into atoms. And then in the other area, it gathers the same atoms and it gathers the same type of atoms and remakes you in point B at the same time.

Speaker: Oh, well, how would it do that if it's the atoms are not in the same place? Well, because at the end of the day, atoms, you know, there's it's all energy, like we were saying before. at When you break everything down to the...

Speaker: most minute it can be. It's just energy arranged in different ways. so they would have essentially a 3D printer that has like your genetic makeup that was that was given through like a Bluetooth connection.

Speaker: Yeah, it would scan you and say, this is what Adam is at the most atomic level. And then another teleporter would say, OK, we'll just make it based on that blueprint. It just scanned the view.

Speaker: Gotcha. Perfect copy of Adam. This version of Adam, the start one. gets broken down and put into the battery for when somebody teleports to there.

Speaker: I see. Gotcha. So there could just they would be like this is such they would just be like a data bank of people. Yeah. um Zero privacy at this point, because they have. Yeah, was going to say, there would be no privacy.

Speaker: They would call everybody you meet AI. Oh, I hate that. Like if we had like six fingers on one hand, they'd be like, a i hey, I, I slough, I slough guy. Yeah. would Would it accidentally sloppify you a little bit? Like, oh, we made the spleen a little too big. If I'm being reconstructed, I would rather have the idea of like, I'm just teleporting my consciousness into another object or another, you know, body.

Speaker: And then i get to come back to this one. You know, I would be a little vulnerable because like, as far as I know, I'm in like ah some a version of the world. You know, so you probably need a buddy to come and unplug you at some point to be like, all right, or like some sort of like kill switch at some point to say, hey, you've been in here for too long. You're being cut off.

Speaker: You know, um I always like the idea because I grew up very, you know, in a Catholic. I went to Catholic school all my life. So there was a lot of talk of afterlives and souls and stuff like that. And yeah.

Speaker: I never fully subscribed to the idea that like there's a soul inside of you and when you die, it just like magically moves on to another plane of existence or something. What always sounded like it made a lot more sense to me. And

Speaker: in a way, your consciousness argument reminded me of this. But assume the soul and the consciousness is the same entity, right?

Speaker: it's in this other plane of existence, remote controlling your body. So what your eyes see, what your senses all pick up, you right now is just like being in a video game. you know Like we were saying before, like being in a virtual reality video game, so realistic you think you're really there, but really you're being remote controlled from somewhere else.

Speaker: So when you die, it's just you know the the game being shut off, basically. And this entity in the ah in this other plane of existence is still there.

Speaker: Do you think we're we're we're we are avatars being controlled by like an energy version of us? I always thought that made more sense than just like the normal religious.

Speaker: There is some unidentifiable you somewhere in there that nobody can find. You just got to kind of believe it's there.

Speaker: Interesting. big that idea I personally am agnostic. I don't believe or disbelieve in the existence of any God of any entity. I don't know what's out there. I don't think we're supposed to know what's out there.

Speaker: It could be infinite blackness. It could be literal nothingness. It could be paradise. I have no idea. I'm just going to go along for the ride and do whatever happens and be a good person because it's a good thing to do.

Speaker: But Yeah, that's that's always how I personally was like, if I were to think, how does the soul work? That's how I pictured it working. Basically, the Matrix. Hmm.

Speaker: That'd be a fun tabletop RPG kind of game, though. Like where you're just like your your soul man and you just your whole thing is all bodies from afar.

Speaker: Yeah, you just have like the one and then maybe you collect other ones and you're like, oh, no, I'm this guy. know, it's kind of like you need. There's a show called Quantum Leap that was kind of like that. It wasn't exactly that he was a soul.

Speaker: ah Like he would. It was I think I can't remember when the show was on. I think it was the eighty s I could be wrong. You know, what Quantum Leap is. I do. Yeah, yeah. I never saw it, but yeah, I don't remember why this guy has to do these things. I i just know.

Speaker: Because they always say, oh, we hope the next leap will be the next leap home, you know? And so i know he's just trying to get back to wherever he started this journey from. So I don't know. I don't remember if it was just like an experiment or something. Well, I think this is kind of what happened to Dr. Manhattan, too, in Watchmen.

Speaker: Dr. Manhattan. Like his body was disintegrated, but his being... was still intact, so it kind of just became like a free-floating consciousness. Something like that. I could do whatever it wanted from the other side.

Speaker: Yeah. Something like that. I was never into the Watchmen lore. i just saw the Watchmen movie a bunch of years ago. Yeah, he's like this all-powerful thing.

Speaker: um Closest to a god, I think they had. yeah But yeah, I don't know. Maybe it'd be like that where like, the quantum leap guy jumps into someone else's body. And then he sees their reflection. He goes, Oh, that's who I am. And has to figure out who he is, why he's there. And then figure out whatever it is he has to do next. That allows him to leave that. And his consciousness goes to some other timeline or to some other world.

Speaker: And they just keeps doing it until he gets home. Hmm. Whatever you ever made it home in that show. and Kind of reminds me of Lost in Space. Another great show. Yeah, that one. They I think great movie.

Speaker: think they did a remake movie of it with. They did. And I used to watch it all the time. No, it wasn't lost. It wasn't Will Ferrell. It was the center of the earth. Well, that one. But the the one I'm thinking of had Joey from Friends in it.

Speaker: Oh, I don't think I saw that. Yeah, it was a great bad movie. Yeah, i I appreciate a good bad movie, though. Yeah. Oh, I used to watch it all the time as a kid.

Speaker: It was great. Yeah. It's why, like, The Fifth Element is my favorite movie. Is this because, like, The Element's a great movie. It's not, like, meant to be this, like, triple A blockbuster fucking, like, high produced Hollywood movie.

Speaker: It's just like a silly fucking movie. Like it's just a fun romp through the future. Yeah, it's like if like, I don't know. Doctor Who and something else like blended their style is very campy, very silly, um but also just a really fun fucking movie.

Speaker: got plot holes, sure. and you know And some of the story don't make sense, but just so fun to watch. Not everything has to be like airtight. I love when something doesn't take itself seriously, and so then you can just enjoy it for what it is and not be like, well, why did that not? I don't understand.

Speaker: i think that's why Everything Everywhere All at Once is my favorite movie ever. so Because it doesn't it doesn't take itself seriously at all. It has no problem just being absurdist and stupid in the best way.

Speaker: I love that. Yeah. You could tell that the writers and everybody were like, just go ham. If you have an idea, just throw it in there. And like, wasn't as long as it cohesively works.

Speaker: Yes. As long as it like cohesively works in the story, I don't really care what it is. You know, there's nothing too weird or too, too silly. Yeah, I and at the same time, it makes me cry because it is very like touching at the end.

Speaker: That's good. Very great movie. Greatest movie. It's like the one with Jet Li. Yeah. Or like he this like there's like a version of him that's traveling between worlds to kill the other versions of him so he gets stronger.

Speaker: I was like in everything everywhere. The idea is actually literally your idea. You're moving your consciousness between other versions of you and other universes. But to do that, you need to attune yourself with that version of you m by doing something so out there that it kind of shifts your consciousness away from you to them.

Speaker: So like if there's an atom that knows Kung Fu and you're about to get in a fight, But that version of Adam likes to chug ice cream. But this version doesn't.

Speaker: You would c chug ice cream to kind of shift your consciousness over to that Adam a little bit. That's fun. Before you make the jump to that Adam and kind of learn everything he knows and and back and forth or whatever.

Speaker: That's really cool. Oh, yeah. It's such a great movie. Yeah, it's on my list. We should do like, i don't know if that streams anywhere, but we should do like a movie night and just stream that and then we can all just enjoy it together.

Speaker: I would be so down for a fun installer's movie night. I think that would be a lot of fun. Yeah. We'll make that happen. um Hey fans, if ah you want to come into the Fun and Sellers community and have a movie night with us, go to Fun and Sellers, or Ko-Fi slash Fun and Sellers or Fun and Sellers slash Ko-Fi, i can't remember.

Speaker: Just find the Fun and Sellers on Ko-Fi, and if you become one of our higher tiered members, you will get an invite into our server, and not only can you come and hang out with us and talk to us, but also, like, we have game nights, and we're thinking about doing a movie night, as you just heard, so...

Speaker: Yeah, we're playing Mecha Chameleon right after this whole bunch of us. So if you want to try that game and you're like, man, I wish I had a bunch of really cool friends to play that game with. All you have to do is buy our friendship.

Speaker: All you have to do is buck yeah is buy our friendship. that's it It's not that hard. like yeah I mean, we're just whoring out our personalities.

Speaker: But for some reason, people like to hang out with us. So we're doing It's weird. It's weird. You know, i was telling Beluga about this the other day, but we had this year alone, we've had three different people come to our house for some kind of social gathering for the first time.

Speaker: And every time they have pulled me aside and said, you know I'm usually not that social. I don't usually you know talk to many people when I'm out.

Speaker: But you guys have made it so easy. like Everybody's so much fun. Everybody's so cool and easy to talk to. And we all just get along that I had no problem being like ah shy or having social anxiety or anything. Three separate times, three separate people have said this to us this year.

Speaker: And I wear that shit like a badge of honor, man. Yeah, you got to make ah a comfortable ecosystem for as many new entities as you can. And that's a big. That is my life goal is just to make a fun space for everybody where everybody can just have fun and be happy.

Speaker: Yeah, it's why like in my first what I call my first big boy apartment, like it became. kind of like the hangout spot and ah almost everywhere where I've lived is pretty much it's for that same reason is like, you know, I always took a lot of pride in being a good host.

Speaker: Um, it's something I took very seriously. And like the only time i really cared to make my place look cool and like make sure everybody was talked to or like, Hey, of course, bring a guest, tell me about them so I can make sure to learn about them and make sure they feel like others are talking to them. Or I'll take, talk to my most trusted friends and say, Hey, make sure you go out of your way to like,

Speaker: hang out and ask questions. This person find out what they like, because like, you know, you you want people to feel comfortable and that like feel like you are a safe space. And like one of the most sincere, like one of the best compliments I've ever received is for someone to say, like, you know, they told me to my face, like, you know, you're a safe person, you know, you make safe spaces.

Speaker: And so like, it's really nice to know that not only are they having fun, but they feel safe there. They feel comfortable there. Um, you know, cause like those are at the end of it all, like're like, oh, they seem like they had a good time.

Speaker: You can break that down to, they had a good time because they felt safe. They felt comfortable. And so like any, anytime someone tells you that, that's like a huge, huge deal. oh it It feels so good to hear. It's not just, you made them have fun. You made them feel like welcome and welcome. Yeah. Which is so fucking important.

Speaker: So it's a deeper level than what people will say. Like I had so much fun. I had a great time. I can't wait to come back. Like, hell yeah. You know, I made that person feel beat. Not just on the surface, you know, have a good time. i made them feel on a deeper level that they could have a good time.

Speaker: Yeah, like not. Yeah, because it's nothing out of the ordinary to hear, you know, have a party and hear people say, yeah, i had a good time. I had fun. Yeah. But to have somebody pull you aside and say like, hey, I was nervous. I really didn't think i would ah enjoy being around a bunch of people that I don't know.

Speaker: ah But you guys were all so open and fun that it wasn't an issue at all. That is. Whoa, that's crack. That's crack for my soul. And now they're playing of existence.

Speaker: ah Controlling my body. Yeah, it really. um It's how fun and sellers came to be. So it's very important to me as well.

Speaker: So all that to say, if you want to come hang, you know, we're trying to support some dreams. And so we use the Ko-Fi and other like things that we sell in the interwebs and other gigs to try to fund some things. So check out Fund and Sellers on Ko-Fi. And, you know, if you want to toss us a coffee, I guess that's what they call it, a coffee. Yeah.

Speaker: That would be great. um yeah It would be so appreciated. And you can, again, come and hang out with us in the server if you're not already someone who's in there. It'd be a good time.

Speaker: But what do you say we wrap this one up, Danny? I think that's a great idea, Adam. almost called you Daniel again.

Speaker: It just I came out. i don't know if anybody will listen to in the playback, but I called you Danny. You did. Because I almost said Daniel. I almost said, Danny. I thought you just tripped on your words. I didn't realize you were about to call me Daniel. I mean, I tripped on my words because I tried to edit in real time and it didn't. It never goes well. It only mostly worked. I used to hate the name Danny.

Speaker: I used to hate it when I was a kid because it infantilized you. Mm hmm. Yeah. Now I'm old enough that I'm like, please make me feel young again. Yeah. Please call me little boy. i mean, it's the perfect name for like.

Speaker: This kind of. thing where I'm just being silly on the internet. That's why I went with the name I did, Danny Guarantee. i was like, my name is Dan. This is the funnest version of my name. Daniel Guarantee.

Speaker: Yeah, see, Daniel sounds too, two ah what's it called? Not sophisticated. Formal. And Dan sounds too boring.

Speaker: Right. But Danny. you hear Danny and you hear somebody doing like silly voice acting shit. That's true. um Yeah.

Speaker: But yeah, so fun stuff. We love it. We love you. Like I said, you smell exactly how I thought you would in the best way. You look great today and we really appreciate you listening. This is a dream come true.

Speaker: It really is. Honestly, I love getting to talk to my best friend. At least, you know, hopefully once a week. We try. We try. Life gets in the way. But it who does who doesn't it for?

Speaker: Who doesn't have life? But yeah, this is such a fun way to just catch up. And we get to hopefully share some light in your life, too, which it makes it all the better.

Speaker: ah Yeah. We do want to support it. if If you feel the the the need to support us, we would greatly appreciate it on the co-fi fun installersnetwork.biz. If you want to buy some merch or just continue listening, show it to a friend if you think they'd like the show and just some idiots talking about stupid shit all day.

Speaker: um But yeah, I thank you very much for listening and please, whatever you do, for the love of God, for the love of God, the love of God,

Speaker: Just maybe. Just maybe. Just give it a thought that maybe this year, this fiscal year even, yeah you just won't be a piece of shit.

Speaker: Just maybe don't be a piece of shit this year. Just yeah just maybe don't.

Speaker: if you if if you If you don't, then life is better that way. Yeah. Yeah. For you and everyone else. And you know what? When you make other people's lives better, they want to make your life better.

Speaker: Yeah. So, you know, don't be a dick and try to be a piece of shit this year. And, um you know, and and hey, you know what? Drink like another half a glass of water.

Speaker: Well, let's let's like little little pro health tips, you know, drink, ah drink a little bit more water than you did today or yesterday. I promise you, you'll start to feel better. And, you know, put down that phone, you know, after 11 p.m. Get yourself some sleep.

Speaker: Honestly, put your phone down after this episode, after you're done here. Put your phone down for five minutes. Just close your eyes. Raw dog. Just raw dog life for a second. Just raw dog. It's so hard.

Speaker: Just close your eyes. Take some deep breaths. Let your mind slow down and relax a little bit. You'll feel a million times better. It's true. Get raw dog by life. I've always said that. it's...

Speaker: Dude, and no raw dog. life Entertainment is the lube of life, but sometimes you just got a raw dog. it Yeah. Raw dog. Raw dog. Take the bull by the horns and raw dog life is what we say. um Yep. taking time but Raw dog. The bolt. No, wait.

Speaker: Raw bull. The dog. Raw bull. the this The horn and dog your life. Yeah. Something like that. Don't face your fears. Fear your face. Take care of your mind. Take care of your heart. And most importantly, take care of each other. Don't be a dick this year. Don't be a piece of shit. Don't be a piece of shit.

Speaker: And we'll see you next time as we all evaluate the cost and idea of the soul. Goodbye. I'm waving even though you can't see me.
