Would we worry less if we learn to trust in the process that brought us to life?

Indifference of Celestial Bodies

00:00:00
Speaker
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with a weird realization. My thought was that the planets, the stars and almost everything that exists are not worried about what is next.

Human Worry vs. Nature's Acceptance

00:00:17
Speaker
are not thinking about what to do in order to achieve something. I found that's a very human kind of thing. We know that plants and animals also take care about their integrity, right? They defend their life. They want to keep themselves alive.

Universe's Cycle and Human Oversight

00:00:35
Speaker
But humans worry a lot about avoiding anything our mind thinks of as harmful or unwanted.
00:00:46
Speaker
We worry about our existence and ignore the grand scheme of the universe. We do not see that everything else outside of our bodies is not worrying constantly, right? We are kind of ignoring that immense process, a ceaseless cycle of emergence, transformation and dissolution.

Does Understanding Reduce Fear?

00:01:10
Speaker
If we all find out that this process that we call life that brought us here as a result of everything else that happened in the past since the creation of the universe is a process that we can trust, then do you think that we would behave differently? Would we continue to resist the process of life?
00:01:39
Speaker
Would we focus more on what we can effectively change and impact?

Perspective Shift on Uncontrollable Worries

00:01:44
Speaker
Would we take action with less fear? Would we be more inclined to enjoy rather than be defensive and protective all the time? It is tough to explain, but somehow, knowing that we worry too much about things we can't influence, open up something in my perception.

Resistance to Change and Trust Issues

00:02:06
Speaker
If that entire process brought me to be alive, and that was a process I was not in control of, why do I need to worry about everything that I can't control? Can't I trust a bit more in the process? I think we can. I think I can. We tend
00:02:35
Speaker
to pay attention to what we like, to what we know. We tend to be afraid of what we do not know. We resist change. We resist what's new. We prefer to defend the status quo, even if it is not beneficial. And I think that happens
00:03:03
Speaker
because we didn't learn to trust in the process of life.

Illusion of Individual Responsibility

00:03:08
Speaker
I think that we believe that we, as individuals, are the only ones responsible for our quality of life. And we ignore that we are part of a bigger system. Therefore we focus only on ourselves, or mainly,
00:03:33
Speaker
And we are not considering what else is out of our control that affects our life. Therefore, it becomes very difficult for us to justify why to take care of others, why to take care of our environment. It seems to be easier for us to think that we can take control of the situations that we can learn to take control.

Embracing Reality and Inevitable Processes

Speaker
And that way we isolate ourselves mentally from the rest of the universe. Someone said that the resistance is futile. I would add that accepting reality as it is rules.
