Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: What's up everybody and welcome to Shapes of Gaming, the weekly conversational podcast all about video games that's unedited, unfiltered, and unhinged. I'm one of your hosts, Matt Stinson, NeoCharge on PSN.

neocharge: And joining me, as always, for episode number 15 is the Retro Game Encyclopedia, Bob Harriman, Leon Lionheart Lee on PSN. Also joining us, again, is Alex, a good friend and listener of the show.

neocharge: Goatlord Sreobix on PSN. What's up?

OracleCardsAndGames: What's up?

OracleCardsAndGames: nice to be here again.

neocharge: Definitely. Bob, what's up? How are you doing?

Leon Lionheartly: Dude, I'm keeping busy. Life is going a million miles an hour right now, my friend.

neocharge: no

Leon Lionheartly: they

neocharge: Dude.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah like I got off work, drove home, scarfed down a sandwich, and then immediately jumped in front of this computer. and then In front of another computer, mind you, ah to start this awesome podcast. But this isn't work.

Leon Lionheartly: This is a pleasure. It's a hobby. And I am so glad to be here.

neocharge: Yeah, I look forward to it all the time. ah Every week. but Yeah, a lot of changes in my life. i had a bunch of stuff lined up today. Some of it fell through and I was kind of the same. I went and had a late dinner.

neocharge: ah But yeah, I've been looking forward to this. me Music and gaming is one of the reasons i game and i think it's going to be a really fun episode. um Before we get into it, though, what are we drinking?

neocharge: Alex, you go first.

OracleCardsAndGames: um I'm just drinking a slushie from Sonic, if I'm being completely honest.

neocharge: Well, that's that's still awesome. still drinking something. What what flavor?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep. ah Got the blue raspberry with couple of lime slices in it.

neocharge: Damn, that thing's huge. Hell yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: That's what she said.

OracleCardsAndGames: i've never heard that before

neocharge: Set you up.

neocharge: Bob, how about you?

Leon Lionheartly: ah Well, I am cleaning up the fridge of all the beer that I can find. So um I found another Whistleblast Honey Brown Ale from Horse and Dragon Brewing. So I was like, you know what? Sounds really good at the end of the day. And that's where we're at.

neocharge: There you go. There you go. I'm drinking a brew that I actually paired with one of my games. So when I play video games, I usually pair a beer with it.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: And ah this particular beer is something I paired with a game that we, most of us are playing and it's taking forever, but it's an incredible experience nonetheless. And that's Death Stranding. So this is my Death Stranding beer and it's from Whibby Brewing.

neocharge: And Whibby Brewing is in Longmont, Colorado, another one up north. And it's a moon door dunkle. ah The three ah descriptions it gives is velvety, dark and supple.

OracleCardsAndGames: We.

neocharge: ah And it's a dunkle lager and it's delicious and it's a little darker. And it pairs well with Death Stranding, let me tell you. It pairs well with expanding the chiral network and delivering all those packages.

Leon Lionheartly: You say dunkle. I would not think of you as a man who would drink a dunkle any day of the week, but I'm glad you're drinking it.

neocharge: it's It is a logger, so it's a lighter Dunkel.

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm.

neocharge: And it had a moon on the front. And ah we know in the marketing material of Death Stranding, though I haven't gotten to that point of the game yet, there is a moon, a big moon that he's walking in front of. So can't wait to get there.

neocharge: That's in the marketing material. Uh, but yeah, that's, uh, that's the beer I pair with it. And yeah, it's fun to pair beers with video games. did you guys ever do that? Pair like any sort of drinks with video games?

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, all the time.

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm. Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: um If I'm playing Counter-Strike, I have to drink. like it's

neocharge: Like, oh yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's a way of coping with the entire the entirety of just playing Counter-Strike.

Leon Lionheartly: that's That's good. No, I don't. You know, now you mention it, man. I really just go for whatever sounds good. ah Kind of what sounds refreshing at the time. yeah You know, so maybe sometimes I just want to be stupid online and I'll, you know, pop a 10 mil Eddie, but that's not a drink. That's a different kind of conversation entirely.

Leon Lionheartly: ah But...

neocharge: That works

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I'm glad i'm glad you're out there. ah think of but you know what? Now it's going to be actively in the back of my mind, ah especially if we get this... Well, I mean, if you don't mind, we're going to jump i'll just jump right into it here.

Leon Lionheartly: ah Especially if we get a the rumors of the Black Flag remake. i got something sitting in the fridge, my friends. I finally hit the mailbox ah today. ah A spiced rum inspired by Edward himself.

neocharge: Yeah. yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. And let me tell you, gentlemen, I tried it. I cracked it open just to have a small glass, you know, first a little bit on the rocks, get a little bit of those flavors. ah Very, so very strong in the spice.

neocharge: so yeah

Leon Lionheartly: um Not as heavy in the molasses, but definitely you get that cinnamon and the other spices coming through like really strong. so So I thought about it. I'm like, okay, not a big mixer guy, but what will mix well?

Leon Lionheartly: I hit it with a splash of Dr. Pepper, and for whatever reason in the magical world of mixing drinks, this thing tastes like a Pepsi.

neocharge: Whoa. Interesting. raw Dude, Rum and Dr. Pepper go well, go together so well. I used to drink ah Captain Morgan. That was my go-to drink. Captain Morgan and Cherry Vanilla Coke.

neocharge: That was my go-to drink. I don't drink a lot of soda nowadays, ah but yeah, Rum is my liquor of choice for sure. I cannot wait to try that. And we're going to try it hopefully around the fire.

neocharge: I got to get some firewood.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, well, we'll go find a tree, chop it down.

neocharge: Right?

OracleCardsAndGames: I've got plenty of firewood chilling in the backyard right now.

neocharge: Yeah. good

neocharge: Oh, you do?

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: Bring a trunk full of it over.

OracleCardsAndGames: Sounds like a plan.

neocharge: There

Leon Lionheartly: I'll bring the chainsaw. We'll cut it down, load it up in the truck, and take it on over, man.

neocharge: you go.

Leon Lionheartly: Enjoy. Definitely do that. But I definitely will be drinking that if I still have some whenever that Black Flag remake ultimately does come around because we know whats we know it's there.

neocharge: Yeah. It's coming. the The big events that we have coming up, we'll talk about a couple that actually happened right after the last podcast and one that's happening ah today. Or if you're listening to this, it probably already happened today because it's so early.

neocharge: ah But we also have Gamescom. We also have Tokyo Game Show. We have the inevitable, amazing, the Game Awards, which I'll be there. ah So we have a lot still a lot of announcements in the year. And I think Black Flag is going to show up at one of those. I can't wait. Black Flag, as you guys know, is in my like top five.

neocharge: So Assassin's Creed is one of the the top IPs for me. Black Flag is is up there. So ah yeah, pirate the incredible pirate sim. I can't wait. So how about you, Alex? How's life? Anything new?

OracleCardsAndGames: ah Not much. You know, kind of got out of nothing but meetings today at work just to come into is what is essentially another Zoom meeting as soon as I got home.

neocharge: It's basically...

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: like Except this time, you know, I don't have to be sober for it. I can talk about what I want. It doesn't have to be work related.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's great.

neocharge: Exactly.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's absolutely phenomenal.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: But yeah, that's

neocharge: Zoom meeting where you drink and talk about video games. That's the best ones.

OracleCardsAndGames: Exactly, yeah. and Instead of talking about blueprints and schematics all day.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's a nice change of pace.

neocharge: Right.

neocharge: Heck yeah. Cool. um Well, we do have a lot of news, but before we get into the news, where can people find us, Bob? It's short. It's simple. Where can they find us?

Leon Lionheartly: You're right. It's short, folks. It's simple. It's all part of the 25th, 26th century, whatever you the you know timeline you live in. You just go into that browser of choice and you go to shapesofgaming.com and there you'll be be redirected to our link tree where you will see all of the landing page with all of the splash for...

Leon Lionheartly: Basically where you can find us. Whether that's whether you want to listen to us on your ah ah podcast app of choice. You want to see us on the socials. um Maybe on YouTube. We don't have video yet. But that is a project incoming.

Leon Lionheartly: And most importantly, you'll see a link for the Discord invite. Come out, join the community, and help shape the gam ah the conversation around gaming.

neocharge: Heck yeah. um We condensed that and made it simpler. So yes, go there. If you love the podcast, you know, give us a rating, give us a like, share it with your friends, leave a review that helps too.

neocharge: Any way that you can, you know, share what we do, ah that would be awesome. And we're trying to build the community and and shape the way we talk about games for sure. So yeah, let's, ah let's get into the news.

neocharge: You want me to, you want me go first?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, don't you kick this stuff off for us? Because I know you've got some things you really want to talk about this week.

neocharge: Yep, yep. First of all, I wanted to go over some games that are on our list that released. And one of those is Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. It got really good reviews. It's on our list.

neocharge: ah It came out, what, last Friday? Like right after we recorded. ah So... Yeah, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound from the acclaimed team behind Blasphemous. Blasphemous is really awesome, by the way. I can't beat it. too hard.

neocharge: ah Ninja Gaiden Ragebound successfully unites the classic lore and gameplay of the Tecmo-developed, now Koei Tecmo games, Ninja Gaiden series from the classic era Ragebound

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: with the depth and intensity of the modern 3D entries. The best of both eras comes together to create an epic and thrilling adventure. ah This is actually pretty cheap on PSN right now. You can get it for like $22.

neocharge: ah I wanted the the physical edition, because but it is like $40. So that's a huge leap. And I think you get the soundtrack and everything. We already talked about that.

neocharge: But this game is finally out. ah I think we're all excited for this game, aren't we?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, absolutely. In fact, um this game might be the game, because I've heard it's not as long, that I can sneak in right before my next Kojima-inspired experience. So I think it'll be a good palate cleanser, 2D platformer.

Leon Lionheartly: um And quite honestly, i mean, it's Ninja Gaiden. And when it comes to Ninja Gaiden, folks, um everybody has their preference. And I'm not going to say one's better than the other, but we all know the 2D is by far superior.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I get it, but I am a 2D platformer guy at heart. um That's why I'm planning on getting Mega Man tattoos and all this other cool stuff. I grew up on that shit.

Leon Lionheartly: um So please give me Ninja Gaiden. Give me Ninja Gaiden. That's tough like the originals. Did you play any of those and NES ah ports there, ah Alex?

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah, absolutely. I actually own most of them. Ragebound's actually been a game that I've been waiting for and waiting for and waiting for. And it's awesome that it's coming that it came out on PC same day.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's just phenomenal. I hate waiting for things I'm actually excited for.

Leon Lionheartly: um

neocharge: Yeah, very cool. I'm very excited for it too. It's one I drafted. one of It wasn't a pickup. It was one of my like beginning drafts. I know I stole that one from you, Bob. ah but So yeah, i I'm a big fan of the the series. i played... You guys ever play Cyber Shadow? It's another pixel art game inspired by Ninja Gaiden.

Leon Lionheartly: I know the name. I think I played it, but ah there's a lot of them out there.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: But I know the name, and it looks, ah what I remember, it was very impressive.

neocharge: Yeah, definitely. And I love like having pixel art games. like I like the AAA stuff. Like you know your Death Strandings, your Horizons, God of War. But sometimes diving into a small indie pixel art is fun.

neocharge: And I don't know if this is indie because it it has a major publisher, but it has the indie feel. And it's it's a pixel art game.

Leon Lionheartly: It's right.

neocharge: So I like... I like going to pixel art every once in a while. I think pixel art is the ultimate form of art, in my opinion. I love it.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, oh yeah. Uh, some of favorite games, especially we'll talk about them later in the news, a pixel art that I know there's the argument about 2d slash 2.5d aesthetic and everything else.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Um, I don't know. I personally, I'm a 2.5d pixel art, uh, fiend. You give me ah you, you put that on the screen. I immediately go, Ooh, I want to play.

neocharge: Yep. I agree. I like the 2D sides for only stuff. Uh, and you just played one that is also inspired by Ninja Gaiden, uh, the maker of sea of stars, sabotage studio.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: I recommended this one to you. You loved it. The messenger. So if you like Ninja Gaiden and you played rage bound and you want more Ninja Gaiden, uh, The Messenger and Cyber Shadow. Two very good Pixar side-scrolling 2D action-adventure games like Ninja Gaiden. So, yeah, I couldn't be happier that Ragebound, they're going back to the back to the um know the origins of it.

neocharge: And, yeah, I love seeing Pixar games release in ah in a fashion like this. Yeah. Yeah. Out now. Go check it out. It's on PSN. It's on PlayStation, PC, x Xbox. I think it's on everything. It's on Switch. It's on basically everything.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I think ah you're right. It is on everything as far as I know.

neocharge: Yep. So cool. ah Do you want to talk about the Nintendo Partner Direct? Do you guys want to talk about that? Wasn't a lot there for me, but I know you guys are excited about a couple of things that were announced.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, absolutely. yeah um Well, I've got a few things to talk about for that. ah Brush it over. But I'll give ah Alex here the yeah opportunity, man. what ah Was there something that really stood out for you that's got you going on the Nintendo Partner Directory?

Leon Lionheartly: Do you remember anything that came across? Because I know of at least three different things that hit that had my interest. And one of them is a day one purchase.

OracleCardsAndGames: So there was a couple of things. I mean, obviously, I'm trying to remember what exactly happened during the partner showcase. Because I kind of like glossed over it all.

OracleCardsAndGames: Octopath Traveler, obviously. um Nice to see in the news. But other than that, nothing really struck my fancy that much.

neocharge: All the good stuff was at the end.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: So.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, I didn't watch all the way through yet, so...

neocharge: Yeah, I caught highlights.

Leon Lionheartly: um

neocharge: It was early.

Leon Lionheartly: well

neocharge: was super early, just like the indie one today was.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah Well, ah you're right, Alex. You hit it there, man. ah that was the That was the shining star at the end of this. um For anybody that's not aware, this was the partner direct that happened the immediately after we finished recording, almost, ah felt like, last week.

Leon Lionheartly: um and you're gonna get a repeat uh tomorrow um as you're hearing this and because they're doing an indie direct but um there's a lot of mixed uh stuff some down announcement dates uh for stuff that we already knew was coming um most notably um well before we hit that did you guys see that chilling by the fire i gotta bring it up i'm sorry again

neocharge: Yeah, it looks like a nice little indie cozy.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah the the Yeah, the giant faces on the avatar that are part of the webcam.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

Leon Lionheartly: um It had the all of the Nintendo jink, and I say this in a nice way, where you can tell they were going for an aesthetic. It's just not an aesthetic the yeah video game um community normally would go for.

Leon Lionheartly: um But first and foremost, I wanted to touch on is we finally got a release date for Kronos, the new Dawn. um This game, Blooper Team, as soon as I saw it, and it was announced, this was, oh, I want to say, oh it was a couple months ago. Don't quote me on that. I'd have to go back. My memory is shot.

Leon Lionheartly: um But...

neocharge: think it was announced before that, but we first saw, I i think we first saw gameplay like beginning of the year.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: ah But they have been updating the news and we finally got a release date. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yep, absolutely. Got a release date. i am saw We saw a little bit more snippets about this. I'll let everybody go out there and take a look at it. um But the more and more I see about this game, the more and more I'm sold, um which makes me so happy that I was able to snag it up on the draft for really cheap.

Leon Lionheartly: ah because I think Blooper Team proved their chops. You're only as good as your last game, um and their last game was a smash success in all metrics and measures.

Leon Lionheartly: um So congratulations to them. I'm so glad they're actually getting this out the door, and they've confirmed a September 5th release date, which unfortunately means you the the one problem, you're backed up against a lot of other competition,

Leon Lionheartly: um So I'm curious ah what this is going to do, the sales numbers. um So what do you think there, Matt? Is this going hurt by its ah window?

neocharge: Uh, probably everything is. And it's ah a well-known studio for what they did for Silent Hill. They had a blueprint there. So this is kind of them off the rails. And I got to say what I saw.

neocharge: um This was probably the game of the show for me, but I'm playing it on my PS5 Pro. Like it's, it's, it was a Nintendo third party event with a lot of multi-platform stuff.

neocharge: right ah Even Octopath is multi-platform. So I was excited in the sense of, I get to play all this on my PS5, but yet Duke Chronos looks amazing. It actually it has my attention tenfold now. It's like Bioshock meets Dead Space.

neocharge: ah With time travel and they kind of went into the game mechanics. I couldn't be more excited for this game. This game will probably be after Ghosts of Yote for me ah in the spooky season, october like late October. I'm probably not going to ah get it at launch. And yeah, it's it's going to get hurt by the things launching, especially Borderlands. What else we have in September? There's so much. ah Yeah, dude.

Leon Lionheartly: ah Borderlands is the thing in September for me. So anything else is all the great art.

neocharge: Right.

Leon Lionheartly: No offense out there to all the great games, but you know,

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, there was actually another game that ah I completely spaced on the name of.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: um I had to look it up because I saw it as part of the ah partner.

neocharge: Hell is S.

OracleCardsAndGames: um No, ah The Adventures of Elliot.

neocharge: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Actually, I'm really excited for.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I've got this gut-wrenching feeling that Octopath is going outshine it, but I'm really excited for it. It's another HD 2D game.

neocharge: Yeah, it's the same. It's by Square. ah It's another Square game.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: So Square kind of closed out that show. But yeah, I thought we were so talking about the stuff launching in September. Hell is Us is launching right before Kronos the New Dawn. Then you got Borderlands and then Silent Hill F like later into September.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: So yeah, things...

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, i'm I'm picking up Silent Hill.

neocharge: Oh yeah. Yeah. I'm actually i'mm actually more excited for Kronos, to to be honest.

Leon Lionheartly: I... I don't blame you. Um, I, I'm intrigued by silent and hill. Uh, but it's been kind of quiet. Crab blooper.

neocharge: you

Leon Lionheartly: Uh, chronos is kind of just being out like, Hey, here's what we're doing and we're not hiding it and saying, Oh, we're going to do this. And it's kind of inspired by these concepts or we're, we're avoiding these pitfalls. It's just, Hey, here's the concept to the game.

Leon Lionheartly: Here's what it looks like. Here's the cool shit that we're talking about. Here's some, uh, here's some footage. And it, by the way, unlike, uh, take note, ah their Capcom, unlike ah yeah another certain game that we saw trailers for.

Leon Lionheartly: It shows in 60 FPS, beautiful 4K, not 30 pre-rendered DS that we've seen going on. So um it's a little bit of a pump out the chest moment, and they definitely should have the confidence for it.

neocharge: Yeah. Don't get me wrong. I'm excited for Silent Hill, but I'm a sucker for new IP. And Kronos is like that new shiny IP from Bloober Team. The medium wasn't great, but they killed it with Silent Hill too.

neocharge: And i loved everything I played of that and everything I've seen of Kronos New Dawn. I'm very excited for it It's definitely going to be my spooky game. So couldn't be couldn't be more excited for that.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: And then go ahead.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm in another one. Another one coming out in September, unless it's changed.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: The new Final Fantasy Tactics.

neocharge: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Supposed to be coming out September, end of September.

neocharge: End of September.

OracleCardsAndGames: I don't know if that's changed yet or not, though. I haven't heard anything in a while.

neocharge: Yeah, end of September, pretty much in October. I mean, what, September thirtieth yeah Yeah, the Ivalice Chronicles, or Ivalice Chronicles, however the hell you say it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yeah, something like that.

Leon Lionheartly: Correct.

neocharge: they

Leon Lionheartly: Uh...

neocharge: How do you say it, Bob?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Everybody I've heard says it's Ivalice, which is part of even, that's even where they say it, so those that don't understand, it's connected to Final Fantasy XII, and in the Zodiac Age, they even call it Ivalice, and there's voice acting, so I'm just throwing that out there ah for everybody.

neocharge: That's what thought, yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: And then, dude, at the end of August, basically in September, um my God, at the end of August, the last week of August, like blending into September, we have Gears of War Reloaded, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, which is a put down everything in play for me, Lost Soul Aside, which we actually got new gameplay for that, and they went into the the weapons. I didn't watch a lot. I didn't want it spoiled because I i do have that game pre-ordered.

neocharge: And I do believe in that game ah for many reasons. I have it drafted and it's ah it's caught my its it's caught my attention. Like it looks really awesome. Just the breadth and ah varied environments that they're showing is awesome.

neocharge: Then we have Shinobi Art of Vengeance. Like that's all within three days.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah

neocharge: Like holy fuck. So yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: And you thought a theme sale was rough on your wallet.

neocharge: Right, right. And then, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Gears of War is going to take up a lot of my time personally out of all of those.

neocharge: Yep. we yeah We want to play that on stream, co-op, Bob and I, when we get everything set up, but we're probably not going to play it on launch. It'll probably be later in the year, maybe November, December. I don't know.

neocharge: um Because, yeah, Hell is Us has my attention too. they They are...

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: It's... a Man, I forget the developer, but it's a third-person action-adventure, and their hook is we're not hand-holding at all.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

neocharge: You're not going to have waypoints on the map. You're not going to have a compass. you're going to just explore the world, talk to people where they tell you to go. They're going to be like, oh yeah, you want to go. They're going to give you directions like back in the old days. You don't have like Google Maps or anything. You got to go find that fucking tree with a sign on it or something and then go past it.

neocharge: I'm actually really excited for this. And games handheld way too much in my opinion and nowadays. So um I'm pretty excited for that. And I also have that drafted.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yeah, I've got Hell is Us pre-ordered on Steam already. I'm going end up picking it up.

neocharge: Cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: It might not be exactly day one, but I will have it day one.

neocharge: Yeah, awesome.

Leon Lionheartly: And

neocharge: And then this is another one that ah PlayStation is championing. So yeah, hell is us.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Developer Rogue Factor ah using Unreal Engine 5. So it's on everything. But yeah, I'm excited for it. I'm excited for it.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah you know You know, Matt, you keep saying I picked it up for the draft. I just want to put this out there for people that don't understand. um The last, and this is out of my last of my news, and you touched on it, Alex, with Octopath Traveler Zero being the closing.

Leon Lionheartly: This is how much of a splash that game made is if you go to Fantasy Critic and you can do this, you do not need an account and go and log in. You can see the top bids for the week that are being processed. Number two was Once Upon a Katamari, and are 181 bids for a total of $2,500, right?

OracleCardsAndGames: you

Leon Lionheartly: It's all fake Traveler Zero, 599 bids for $10,500. People going apeshit over trying to pick that game up. octopath traveler zero five hundred and ninety nine bids for almost ten thousand five hundred dollars people are going apeshit over try to pick that game up

neocharge: Yep, and you picked it up.

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah Maybe for a cheap, cheap, cheap pricey ride I did.

neocharge: Yep, you swooped in under everyone's noses and grabbed it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

Leon Lionheartly: Sorry there, Caleb.

neocharge: um I'm happy with my lineup. i So speaking of which, my top pick is my next piece of news. Metroid Prime 4. We heard about it.

neocharge: um So the Fan Expo in Canada, ah Nintendo is holding that. And that that is going to be sometime soon. I don't see a date. Nintendo Canada is inviting you to visit the Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, Ontario to check out the latest and upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

neocharge: Guess what's on that list and guess what's going to be playable there?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Metroid Prime 4. And they're saying that Metroid Prime 4 is still going to hit that 2025 year, which, man, I hope it does.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah And if you want to know, the Fan Expo Toronto is the 21st through 24th of August.

neocharge: um

OracleCardsAndGames: So you got 14 days before it starts.

neocharge: Gotcha. Okay. Yeah. Awesome. Yep. Fan Expo attendees will be able to play upcoming games like Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, Street Fighter 6, Borderlands 4, Donkey Kong Bonanza. That's already out.

neocharge: Mario Kart World. But those are the two, I guess, showcase titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. So ah there's still hope for Metroid Prime 4. I was close to dropping it. I'm still cautiously optimistic, ah but we'll we'll see.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: i I'm very, very excited for that game. So it's good to hear some news for that. ah What else? Alex, did you have anything? Because I had a few more.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yes, ah just one thing um for all the PC gamers out there. um It's a little bit old news at this point. July 31st is when it was announced. um NVIDIA's, they confirmed their game-ready drivers for Maxwell and Pascal GPUs will no longer be supported as of October 2025. That's affecting anybody running old NVIDIA 9 Series cards and GeForce 10 Series cards.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: Which unfortunately includes like the 1080 Ti, which is actually still incredibly popular for modern gaming. But yeah you know it's it's unfortunate.

neocharge: Very cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: NVIDIA has explained that this by no means is like a death to the cards. It's just games will no longer be optimized on drivers anymore. So if you want to keep running the cards, you just have to keep your drivers exactly the same.

neocharge: Gotcha. OK, what's what graphics card do you have?

OracleCardsAndGames: 7900 XTX. so I've got nothing to worry about for a long time.

neocharge: Yeah, that's that's up there. That's pretty good. ah Yeah, that's cool. So that's some cool news in the PC world. Guess what? I have an update on the news I just talked about.

neocharge: ah

Leon Lionheartly: Wait.

neocharge: They dropped some wording because I clicked the link. They dropped available in 2025.

Leon Lionheartly: Wait.

neocharge: So the link I was reading and I was like, wait wait a second, doesn't say available in 2025 either anymore because I took a screenshot of it when we talked about it on the text string and I was like, oh, it still says they dropped that wording.

neocharge: Oh my God. Metroid Prime 4 is not going to hit 2025. It doesn't sound like. Wow.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, wow. You know, it's funny you mention that.

neocharge: Wow. Wow.

Leon Lionheartly: ah See, I'm seeing so many mixed reports now. Yeah.

neocharge: So it used to say ah fan expo attendees will be able to play upcoming games like Metroid Prime 4 and then in parentheses available later in 2025.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh.

neocharge: Now it just says fan expo attendees will be able to play upcoming games like Metroid Prime 4 beyond.

Leon Lionheartly: o

neocharge: That's it. They dropped available in 2020. Oh shit. All right. What did you say? The Katamari game? Okay.

Leon Lionheartly: Actually, that if that if that hits, so um I'm half-junker with you, but Katamari is pretty fucking good.

neocharge: Okay.

Leon Lionheartly: um i like that series, but Once Upon once upon a my God.

neocharge: yeah

neocharge: Gotcha.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, the Katamari games are absolutely hilarious.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: They're loads of fun, dude. They are loads of fun.

neocharge: Gotcha. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: oh

neocharge: I played i played one ah long time ago. PS2, I believe. So, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. I'd feel bad for you, but at the same time, I had to drop my number one pick as well.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Judas, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah

neocharge: Yep. Well, I might be dropping that. And that's interesting because I was just looking at the link. I mean, it' we're just live recording and I'm like, they dropped the available in 2025. Holy shit.

neocharge: It's all public. You can go on and look at it. It's yeah. yeah And they dropped that wording. Interesting. Interesting. Huh? Well, dang.

neocharge: I highly doubt it's going to come out in 2025 Interesting. interesting

OracleCardsAndGames: Hey, hold out hope, man. You never know.

neocharge: I, yeah, I'll hold out hope, but I don't want a dead draft pick just like Bob did.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: He dropped his. So yeah, I mean, dude, I'm not, uh, I'm not upset about delays. I'm a little upset about delays when comes to fantasy draft. Right. But Hey man, take as much time as you need on the game.

neocharge: A rushed game is forever bad. A delayed game is eventually good.

Leon Lionheartly: Amen.

OracleCardsAndGames: Exactly.

Leon Lionheartly: amen and

neocharge: You know, so i I will never get upset with delays when it like from a gamer perspective, take as much time as you need. Games take a long time, a lot of resources, a lot of people, a lot of creative ideas to make.

neocharge: And you take your time. I'd rather have a awesome delayed game than a rushed bad one any day. So ah let's see. Any other news you had, Bob?

neocharge: Oh, they talk about the Nintendo Indie World Showcase.

Leon Lionheartly: um Oh, you mean that's coming tomorrow? ah It starts, yeah, technically today.

neocharge: Technically today.

Leon Lionheartly: It should be 6 p.m. or 6 a.m. Wow. 6 a.m. Pacific time. It's going to be the 7th of August, so the day this is going live. You guys will probably have to juggle between us and Nintendo.

Leon Lionheartly: um Sounds like they're just i in the middle of nowhere. Once again, Nintendo rapid fire. Seems like they're trying to clear the shelves. um We're getting an indie direct. and ah I have a feeling, and we were talking about this before the earlier today before we even started a recording, I have a feeling Nintendo's going to be given the go-ahead and green light to announce a release date for Silksong.

neocharge: Yes, sir.

Leon Lionheartly: ah This would be a great time for it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Give me Silksong.

neocharge: It would be a really great time.

Leon Lionheartly: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Yeah, you and I are big fans of Hollow Knight.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Silk Song has been in the ether for, geez, seems like a decade now.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: could It might even be a decade. ah But we saw it briefly at the Switch 2 reveal, like three seconds, and then they announced it's still coming this year at the raw the Xbox Ally reveal.

neocharge: ah So the indie showcase, this was announced like, well, when this episode goes live three days ago for today, August 8th. And man, it's the Indie Showcase. It's on Switch. Hollow Knight released on Switch. i It was a timed exclusive.

neocharge: So they might still do that, ah which is fine.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: I'll probably buy it on PS5. I'll wait. ah But yeah, we might finally get some more news about Silksong and finally get those the damn release date this year.

OracleCardsAndGames: Exactly. i've I've only been waiting in eternity. like I can only do so many Hollow Knight speedruns before it starts getting old.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: Give me another game.

neocharge: Yeah, you and me both.

OracleCardsAndGames: Please. Please.

neocharge: ah Silksong was ah initially going to be DLC for the original Hollow Knight or an expansion. And it follows one of the supporting characters in Hollow Knight, Hornet.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: And she has like a needle and thread. And man, it's going to be awesome. i Hornet was a really cool supporting character.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh.

neocharge: in the original Hollow Knight. And we've been very excited for this for a while. So I think we're going to get news.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: So, and

OracleCardsAndGames: Please, for the love of God, I don't care about anything else of the direct.

Leon Lionheartly: o

neocharge: right, right.

OracleCardsAndGames: Just give me something other than a trailer.

Leon Lionheartly: So I, I'm, you guys got me down a rabbit hole on this. I'm so sorry. I'm looking, I'm reading rumors. I'm not going to go quoting sources because it's just chatter on the internet. um So take this with a grain of salt.

Leon Lionheartly: I am not a Silksong fan, a Hollow Knight fan. um So I'm definitely rooting for y'all, but ah there is a, there are rumors that the ah indie world, there will be a one shadow drop for a game and another that that's getting a demo. And,

Leon Lionheartly: um Flip your coin. um I'd i' shit a brick and with you guys if they if they shadow drop silks on. Huh.

neocharge: Guess what, Bob?

Leon Lionheartly: Huh.

neocharge: That's another one I have drafted.

OracleCardsAndGames: Rightfully so, honestly.

neocharge: Dude, I...

OracleCardsAndGames: Rightfully so.

Leon Lionheartly: with

neocharge: Oh yeah. um The original was amazing and it was critically acclaimed.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: I think that this one, they've been spending a while on it. Team Cherry is an incredible developer with an awesome track record. um This is the third time I've drafted it. I've done the draft for like three years.

neocharge: Please hit. but And I couldn't be more excited for the game. So I'm going to save my most exciting news for last, but this, ah and and we'll, we'll sandwich it and have, because this is a negative and I want to end on a positive.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: But Nintendo has announced some price increases for ah some Switch, original Switch hardware. And gotta say, man, they're they're increasing.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: I mean, we all know why it's increasing, right? For multiple reasons, tariffs and stuff. I'm not an expert in that. oh i I play video games and drink beer, so I'm not a...

neocharge: I'm not an expert in world trade. i

Leon Lionheartly: you

neocharge: But yeah, Nintendo has announced ah the increase of pricing. So the Switch OLED used to be $350, right? It's $400 now, which is interesting because you can get a Switch 2 for $50 more than an original Switch OLED.

neocharge: Granted, the Switch OLED, the screen is better. But, I mean, Switch 2, it's got a pretty good screen on it. And ah you get a you get way more power.

neocharge: So that's very interesting they cranked up that price. ah The standard Switch is was $300, now it's $340. Switch Lite was $200, now it's $230. switch light was two hundred now it's two thirty ah The Joy-Con a pack of two was $80. Now it's $90. So it's like a hundred bucks with tax. ah Pro controller was 70. Now it's 80.

neocharge: And ah the n NES controller, and n sixty four controller and SNES controller, the one that's ah for Nintendo online, they all went up five bucks. The and NES controller two pack went up 10 bucks. So yeah, what ah what do we think about these price increases? Pretty significant on the consoles.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, they i you would have thought they would have gone the other direction. That's that's what's puzzling me about this. You want to clear your stock of what you have in the backlog. um not and the only You're going to do that by enticing people with cheaper prices, not by doing the exact opposite.

Leon Lionheartly: Maybe some dude at accounting accidentally hit a plus when he was supposed to hit a minus. Who knows? Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: I actually have an interesting thought on this because um if if you think about it from a new purchaser standpoint, somebody might be looking for this for themselves.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

OracleCardsAndGames: um Because like you guys and myself, we already all all have Switches or Switch 2s. um If the Switch OLED is $400 and the Switch 2 is $450, it almost makes it look like the Switch 2 came down in price.

neocharge: yeah I can see that, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Or if somebody's looking to buy the console, they can be like, oh, why would I get the old one when the new one's only $50 more?

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, good call. That that is psychological warfare.

neocharge: That's true.

Leon Lionheartly: that's That's deceptive as all fuck because that the price of the Switch 2 didn't change, but I i'm also i'm also i recognize good business moves. Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, it's essentially a Black Friday sale at that point. You know, when you change the price the day before to something higher and then change it for Black Friday so that it looks like you got a sale price.

neocharge: That's true. That's true. um i just want the Switch 2 Pro. I want that OLED.

Leon Lionheartly: ah ah Yeah, let's let's see if we can get that. ah so so Yeah, switch to OLED coming 2026. q four twenty twenty six

neocharge: Right, right. um No, I mean, I'm still loving my Switch.

OracleCardsAndGames: Totally.

neocharge: I did. i was on the fence of returning it. I really was. I haven't even... I still... i a My Mario Kart World Code is on a eBay right now. I haven't scratched it. we We beat it.

neocharge: And ah I'm just going to sell it. So... But... And the Switch...

Leon Lionheartly: oh

neocharge: hot Dude, I just don't have time. ah really don't. Like, all these games coming out... um ah Dude, I'm like 55 hours into Death Stranding and apparently not even halfway.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: Uh, so, and we have like six games on, and they're, they're on my list coming in August and in like five or six games coming in September. I just, I want to play Donkey Kong Bonanza. I just, I don't fucking time.

neocharge: Uh, and I, I do want to see if they'll work out the, the performance issues. um ah You guys haven't played Donkey Kong Bonanza, have you?

OracleCardsAndGames: No.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: No. Say, yeah, when?

OracleCardsAndGames: Not at all.

neocharge: So, um, Right. When? When? So, yeah, i I have a Switch 2. I played ah Zelda on it, the older Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. And I haven't played a Switch 2 game on my Switch 2.

Leon Lionheartly: Guilty as charged.

neocharge: So, yeah. and Dude, I bought it for Metroid Prime 4. And now, hmm, that's not probably not even dropping this year, according to Nintendo. they They took out that wording.

neocharge: So, Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: You know what I did buy it for?

neocharge: oh

Leon Lionheartly: I just didn't know it at the time.

neocharge: Why?

Leon Lionheartly: Octopath Traveler Zero.

neocharge: yeah There you go.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah Because i playing that ah a portable on the go is probably going to be the way.

neocharge: There you go.

Leon Lionheartly: um Even if it isn't in an OLED.

neocharge: Oh, yeah. ah So, yeah, well, there the Switch 2 releases are light. no We got the Kirby Switch 2 edition coming out this month. But again, there's so much coming out this month.

neocharge: um Yeah, that's some negative news. Unfortunately, I got some price hikes ah and some pretty significant price increases there. Okay, so this next piece of news, we're we're wrapping up the news with it.

neocharge: And holy shit, i I lost my shit on the text string. I was like, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. And this is a... It's kind of a well-known IP.

neocharge: It's a cult classic IP, I would say. And this IP is Darksiders. So Bob, I know you you kind of touched a little bit on it, ah but you didn't youve you haven't played it.

neocharge: Alex, have you played any of the Darksider games?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yes.

neocharge: Beautiful. Which ones?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: I've played the first one. um um to have to check my Steam library.

neocharge: Yeah. Awesome. So Darksiders, there are four total games. I've played them all, platinum them all, and I love them. It follows the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: i it's ah Each game follows a horseman. So Darksiders 1 follows war, and it's a Zelda-like clone. It's one of the best Zelda clones out there.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: And then Darksiders 2 follows death. And that is more of like a third person Elder Scrolls clone. I would say it's more of a looter hack and slash um RPG.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: um Then Darksiders 3, I think, which is my favorite, follows Fury, which is a badass redhead with a whip, akin to the Belmonts, honestly. And that is more of a soul's light experience.

neocharge: And then there's Darksiders Genesis, which follows Strife and War. ah So there's War, Death, Fury, and Strife. Those are the four horsemen of the apocalypse. And ah that one is a top-down Diablo-esque co-op.

neocharge: i It's not a twin stick, but it's an isometric shooter if you're Strife, and then a hack and slash if you're War. So War is kind of like the tank. Death is the badass acrobatic person with the scythe.

neocharge: ah Fury is more of the long range with the whip and she does like elemental stuff. So she's more of like the mage. And then Strife is fucking Dante from Devil May Cry. He's the dual wielding horseman.

neocharge: So the the crazy thing about this series. It's made by THQ Nordic and ah the artist is one of my favorites, Joe Maguria.

neocharge: He did a lot and he did Battle Chasers. He did Darksiders. He does a lot of really cool shit and I love his art style. But every game, Darksiders 1 ends with... Well, I'm not going to say how it ends if you want to play. But every game is in this... It takes place at the same time.

neocharge: And it all builds up to the end of Darksiders 1. So Darksiders 4 got announced. Darksiders 4 is finally giving us what we want and is going from the ending of 1. And you get to play as all four of them.

neocharge: And so the...

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Yeah, the description is the legendary saga of the four horsemen continue in Darksiders 4, an all-new action adventure set in an apocalyptic version of Earth and continues where the original Darksiders game left off. If you've played Darksiders 1 and you've played all of them, this is what we've been waiting for as fans. ah Darksiders 4 is a third-person action-adventure game featuring combat, traversal, and puzzle-solving in a lore-rich post-apocalyptic world.

neocharge: ah choose your horseman take up one of the legendary horsemen each with their own unique weapons and combat styles and this game has been ah confirmed it is co-op i couldn't be more fucking excited about this game like i can't wait this is a put down everything in play i'm a huge darksiders fan i know it's a little known ip but i love it

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, I've i've definitely definitely going to pick it up. I didn't realize um how many hours I actually had on Darksiders 3. I have 89 hours in it.

neocharge: Oh, damn.

OracleCardsAndGames: um But yeah, I have on Steam, I have the Warmastered Edition ah of Darksiders 1, the Definitive Edition of Darksiders 2.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: um i The only one I don't have is Darksiders Genesis.

neocharge: um It's really fun, and it's co-op, and it's a top-down isometric in the vein of Diablo.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: So I love how each game and each horseman style is based off of and inspired by another game.

OracleCardsAndGames: yep

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: ah It's awesome. Dude, it Bob, if you love Zelda, you're going to love Darksiders 1. You should play it. I know there's nothing else to play now, and it's really like barren, so you should definitely pick up all the Darksiders game and play them.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, you know what?

OracleCardsAndGames: And speaking of, if if you want to pick them all up, it's their the entire franchise bundle is $20 Steam.

neocharge: We play on PlayStation.

Leon Lionheartly: That's okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Bob's got a PC.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah i got I got a PC.

OracleCardsAndGames: He's got a PC.

Leon Lionheartly: I could do that. Tell you what, I'll do all of the Darksiders games, all four of them in one shot.

neocharge: I'm not playing Mass Effect.

neocharge: I knew where you were going.

Leon Lionheartly: I'll just say, you got to play Shepard for me one time.

neocharge: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: Come on, man.

neocharge: Hey, man.

OracleCardsAndGames: Looks great.

neocharge: hey Hey, nothing against Mass Effect. i I would love to play it. It's just a time thing, and it slipped through the cracks when it released.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

neocharge: And then to play... When you when you play 2, you got to play 1, and then 2 release, I'm like, well, I got to fucking play 1. But then a ton of other stuff got released, and then when 3, it's like, well, now I have to play 1 and 2. And then it's a huge time ask. It's like 150 hours or something like that total across all of them.

neocharge: And then you have Andromeda. No. And I was kidding, Bob. I know there's so much shit out there to play, but Darksiders is so good.

Leon Lionheartly: I know.

neocharge: Darksiders is really good.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: So... Oh,

OracleCardsAndGames: Here, Bob, ill i'll I'll play Mass Effect for him.

Leon Lionheartly: i and then yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: Just get Darksiders. You're going

neocharge: there you go.

Leon Lionheartly: Now, see, for you, you need a special special level of hell. I'll come up with something. you know Yeah, right?

neocharge: I volunteer as tribute.

OracleCardsAndGames: to make me sit through a rhythm game.

Leon Lionheartly: I'll make him sit through all...

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: you There you go.

neocharge: Oh, God.

Leon Lionheartly: He's going to have to play Madden 1999 quarterback club all the way through 2026.

neocharge: Dude, if you if you want to torture me, just tell me to go play Fortnite or Apex Legends or Minecraft or Roblox.

Leon Lionheartly: so

neocharge: I'd rather claw out my own eyes than do any of those.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, no, you're going to play League. That's what's going to happen here. You're going to play League.

neocharge: Oh, God.

Leon Lionheartly: No, we do not need You know, I meant to ask, because I i looked at the the the reveal trailer.

OracleCardsAndGames: But you have to grind to level 30, and you have to grind to level 30, and then go in ranked and play ranked until you're gold. Then Bob will play Darksiders.

neocharge: um man. Oh, God. um Bob, if I mean, Dark Souls 4 is going to be awesome. At least watch a video. At least.

Leon Lionheartly: Is that all we got? Was that 60-second sizzle reel right now?

neocharge: Yes. Yeah. So we only got a ah teaser trailer and the teaser trailer is showing all four of them together on their mounts because they're horse horsemen of the apocalypse.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: And each horse is like different and it has abilities and stuff. ah And in two, it's like open world so you can use it. ah It's so awesome. But it ah it kind of showed all four of them on their mounts ready to go.

neocharge: ah after what happened in one. So this game is like post-apocalyptic. It's got so much fantasy in it. You go to different realms. You like traverse so many environments.

neocharge: The combat is peak level.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

neocharge: Honestly, and one has Zelda inspired dungeons and puzzles. ah Two is a huge ah epic game that has RPG elements. Three, dude, there's there's such good games, but I know time.

neocharge: Uh, yeah. So this was announced. Release date is to be determined. We might see more at the game awards, TGS, uh, gamescom. Who knows? Uh, I couldn't be more excited for this. This is going to be pre-ordered day one. The moment it's available.

neocharge: I've been waiting on this shit. When was dark siders one released in 2010 or something like that?

Leon Lionheartly: ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Something like that. I remember people talking about it when I was doing ah doing ah work for the yeah federal government, and that was long time ago.

neocharge: twenty two 2010. Wow.

Leon Lionheartly: Damn, good memory, dude.

neocharge: I remember him. yes January 2010. Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: umma And yeah, if if if ah you guys want to play them, you guys, the listeners, Darksiders 1 got remastered for PS4. Darksiders 2 got remastered for PS4, the definitive edition.

neocharge: And then Darksiders 3 released on PS4 as well as Genesis. So if you're if you're a fan of third-person action adventure, hack and slash, ah some Zelda-inspired stuff, some...

neocharge: I mean, shit, some Soulsborne inspired stuff. Go check out Darksiders. It's an awesome, awesome series. And couldn't be more excited for four. So, yeah, that's that's the news.

neocharge: So, what the...

Leon Lionheartly: not much Not much going on, right?

neocharge: I mean, yeah, that was a good chunk.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm teasing, I'm teasing.

neocharge: yeah Right?

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: So what do so do you what you gentlemen think? Should we ah do the talk about what we're taught playing, get that knocked out of the way so we've got plenty of breathing room for the main topic this evening?

neocharge: Yeah, I can go first. I'm playing Death Stranding 2 and I can't talk anything about it. Your turn.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah My turn.

neocharge: but so

Leon Lionheartly: I finished Death Stranding 2 and I'm doing trophy cleanups.

neocharge: Oh, shit.

Leon Lionheartly: I can't say anything about it other than it's my game of the year. Next!

neocharge: Oh! Wait, hold on. Hold on. It beat Claire?

Leon Lionheartly: Yes.

neocharge: Wow. Hasn't beat Claire for me yet.

Leon Lionheartly: Emphatically, yes. And you didn't get to ah you'll get to that point.

neocharge: I'm on.

Leon Lionheartly: I know where you're at. I'm watching your trophies. You're going to get to a point, and if you don't cry like a little bitch, you are a heartless fuck.

neocharge: Yes.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm just saying.

neocharge: Oh, I will. I'm on chapter eight and about 50 hours in the end game clock is a little less than the PSN clock because they, they round up every play session.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: ah But yeah, i'm I'm still loving it, but yeah, i can't really talk any about it at all, especially since Alex is on here.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. i want to say

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah I want to say a lot um other than did like I said, it's game of the year for me. I'm doing trophy cleanup.

neocharge: Thank you.

Leon Lionheartly: um And unlike Death Stranding 1 where I saw the trophy list and went and afterwards was like, ugh. This, I went, you know what? There is an opportunity here.

Leon Lionheartly: It's going to take me a little while, but I want to do this. Not I feel like I need to, but I legitimately want to do all of this. so um So, ah yeah, that's where I'm at. um I also picked up and was playing a little bit of my ah classic. Not much to talk about, but I went back and started playing some more Heroes of Might and Magic 3, the complete edition, ah this last weekend.

Leon Lionheartly: was feeling a little nostalgic, um and it was just as great as I remembered. Hence why it's on my top 10.

neocharge: Excellent.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm playing Legend of Dragoon again. um of i've Bob came over what the other day and I was like, oh I'm just doing a casual playthrough. That didn't happen. um I'm eleven about 11 and a half hours in. I'm midway through disc four now.

OracleCardsAndGames: The The speedrunner in me took over and I just, I'm like, you know what, we're just going to speed through this. um I've already plotted it on the PS4, so there's not really much more for me to do.

neocharge: That's awesome.

OracleCardsAndGames: I did pick up my Japanese copy. Now I'm going to find a Japanese PlayStation and play higher difficulty because the game actually scales incredibly differently in the Japanese ah version of the game.

neocharge: Oh yeah. Which is gorgeous by the way, you shared pictures on discord. if If you guys want to see it, it's on discord in the general channel, I believe.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: But yeah, you got,

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep. i put it in the general.

neocharge: You got both black labels. So you picked up quite a few black labels, which is awesome. Midnight Games, they're they're they're pretty good. That's where I got my Metal Gear Solid black label from. So yeah, that was a nice little haul. I love to see the hauls like that. So yeah, if ah if any of you guys, listeners, are ah going out and hunting old games and collecting, show us your haul.

neocharge: ah Show us what you' ah what you've picked up. So we love to see it. too we're We're big collectors, all of us. So yeah, dude, that Japanese copy of Legend of Dragoon is gorgeous.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, it's stunning. And everything is like mint aside from like the, uh, the jewel case has a couple of scratches on it, but other than that, it's stellar shape. but I think it's probably in better shape than my English black label.

neocharge: Oh, wow. Yeah, that's awesome. I recently picked up a Black Label as well. I think I talked about it. It didn't have the ah the manual, but I picked up a manual on eBay and completed it for a little under what the market price was.

neocharge: So I'm happy about that.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: So yeah, it was always one I wanted.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeahp

neocharge: And I'm glad you finally got one because I was going to keep an eye out for you. But so yeah, glad you finally got one. that's That's cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: Legend of Dragoon. ah You mentioned a remake the studio who would be awesome for the remake. You want to share that?

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah. ah Dude, Sandfall.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: All day, every day would be phenomenal for a Legend of Dragoon remake, in my opinion.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh shit.

OracleCardsAndGames: like I know Blue Point would be all over it, but Sandfall would just do a phenomenal job. but

neocharge: I couldn't agree more. And I do. Claire was heavily inspired by ah legend of Jaguar, which you could probably attest to because you played them almost back to back.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. I mean, I couldn't tell you how many times I've played through LOD. And that was part of the reason why I loved Claire so much. I got a little bit of semblance of the edition system, which was great.

neocharge: Yeah. Very cool. So are you playing emulation or original hardware? Are you playing the actual disks that you got?

OracleCardsAndGames: um I'm playing the actual discs I have.

neocharge: Beautiful.

OracleCardsAndGames: Original hardware, all of it.

neocharge: That's awesome.

OracleCardsAndGames: Aside from my controller, my controller's aftermarket because I just picked up a um ah wireless PS1 controller. But

neocharge: Gotcha. Now the next question, are you playing on a flat panel or a c r t

OracleCardsAndGames: Unfortunately, I'm playing on a flat panel.

neocharge: Okay, you said unfortunately. I'm right there with you.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. ah

neocharge: Yeah. um Yeah, man, those older games look so much better on a CRT, which is really weird because it's like 30-year-old technology.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: But they they were made for like the scan lines, and they're just smoothed a lot better.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: I mean, pixel art does pop, and and the PS1 graphics do pop. they're They're more colorful, but man, CRT is where it's at if you want to play the older games.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Yeah. I unfortunately don't have a CRT. ah I have been looking for one, and the only one I'm going to get is a 32-inch Sony Trinitron. ah That's the Cadillac of CRTs. So what?

Leon Lionheartly: The Cadillac of CRTs.

neocharge: It is.

Leon Lionheartly: ah so Congratulations.

neocharge: It's

Leon Lionheartly: You've got the ah the Cadillac of Pintos.

neocharge: peak CRT.

OracleCardsAndGames: is

Leon Lionheartly: love it.

neocharge: Peak CRT. peak cr t

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. i love it yeah yeah

neocharge: Hey, man, I fire up emulator. i fire up my original hardware on my fucking 83-inch Sony OLED, and it does not look great.

Leon Lionheartly: you're You're right.

OracleCardsAndGames: No, it doesn't.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm pissing at your Cheerios, but you're 100%. I've done it before. and ah Even on the classics catalog with like on the PlayStation Network, I don't know if... Even the Nintendo NSO, some of those old things, they look rough on 70-inch high-definition TV.

Leon Lionheartly: Something about the classics. so I don't disagree. um just I'm just... ah I gotta i got to throw my punches every now and then.

neocharge: Please do.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: I love it. It's entertaining.

neocharge: um Yeah, dude, even some of the ah games that were re-released on like PSN or like the PS4 or remastered or whatever, they will give you the option to mimic a CRT and put scan lines on there.

neocharge: And so, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. That's actually how I played ah the the the PlayStation Classics version of LOD was with the scan lines.

neocharge: Nice. Yeah, very cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: Still doesn't look as great, but it's something, you know?

neocharge: Yeah, yeah. Well, that's awesome. You're playing Legend of Dragoon and you're speed running it nonetheless. Disc 4 in 11 hours. Very impressive. So I wish you could stream it, but I mean, yeah i mean, I guess you could if you had a capture card.

OracleCardsAndGames: it's

OracleCardsAndGames: i yeah I wish I was one of the guys that speedrun that game in an hour, hour and a half.

Leon Lionheartly: oh

neocharge: There's always going to be someone that does it better, that someone that does it faster.

OracleCardsAndGames: like yeah When I speedrun, I use the debug room and go to disc 3 and just play the whole game from disc 3.

neocharge: It's still impressive, man.

OracleCardsAndGames: I can't stand just constantly trying to save scum over and over and over again to get the optimal setup.

neocharge: Nice.

OracleCardsAndGames: to try and speed run right at the very tail end of the game and just deal with the final boss.

neocharge: Very cool. Very cool. um What do you say we get we get into the main topic? This is a very fun main topic. ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Yes.

neocharge: Yeah. And Alex, we wanted to have you on because you did the intro and the outro to this very podcast. You did it from scratch ah and very, very impressive. We love it.

neocharge: And we love that you did that for us. And we're very grateful for it. I remember when Bob showed me, we were at Metric Brewing. hu Shout out to Metric. Rip Metric. And ah he saw my eyes. They went wide and I was like, oh shit, this is it.

neocharge: So yeah. You thought...

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, it took a long time. there There was a couple sessions with you guys ah on on a on a call with me trying to tweak it and make everything perfect.

neocharge: Yep.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: it was It took a while, but it got there and it's glorious. I love it.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, you should be proud of it, man.

neocharge: Yes. Yeah, we love it too. And yeah, very much appreciated. So thank you. Thank you for that. But so this this podcast is all about video game soundtracks.

OracleCardsAndGames: no problem.

neocharge: why Why do we play these video games? Well, it's partly because of the... love of our love of the music in them in the soundtracks and all the way back from 8-bit to now, like reorchestrated stuff.

neocharge: um We are huge fans of of video game soundtracks and we wanted to give ah you, the listeners, our our top 10.

OracleCardsAndGames: Thank you.

neocharge: So who who wants to go first?

Leon Lionheartly: Short Straw. Now, you know what? I'm the least musically inclined around here, so I'll go ahead and take it and kick this off. um And so, rapid fire on the the bottom five, so i'm going to just give this ah first one to you guys quick and pass it along.

neocharge: Okay.

Leon Lionheartly: um I am a

neocharge: Giggling.

Leon Lionheartly: James Bond aficionado. I love my Bond movies. And part of the Bond movies is the music. So the first time I booted this game up and heard the opening theme, I immediately fell in love with it.

Leon Lionheartly: um I am probably stole it from you, Matt. um That's going to be Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater.

neocharge: Ooh, yep. That's amazing. I saw it performed live, the original lady at MAGFest. So shout out to MAGFest. And she might be there again when we go this year. Who knows? Or next year, technically.

neocharge: um Yeah, the Snake Eater intro. ah Very Bond-inspired. And they recently released what it's going to be like in the remaster and or the remake.

neocharge: And dude, I fired that up in my theater and I was just like...

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: I watched it like three times. That is one of the best intros to any video game. And yes, you you did. That was on my list. But I'll pick another one.

Leon Lionheartly: you know

neocharge: um If you haven't heard this, go listen to it. Metal Gear Solid, Snake Eater, ah intro cinematic. ah Just incredible.

neocharge: Snake Eater.

Leon Lionheartly: Yep. yeah

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: I hope she's there. So just so I can beg on my knees and be like, please sign this for me. You're saying for me.

neocharge: Yeah. Dude, there's it's an atrium and they do live music. So the acoustics in there, like this atrium is the size of, fuck, like three Walmarts stacked on top of each other.

neocharge: It's huge. So the acoustics there are awesome. And you can like, when you open your hotel room door, you can like hear it and you're just like, oh, they're they're playing a one winged angel. I should probably go get a coffee and listen to that.

neocharge: It's it's just amazing. But yeah, incredible choice. And yes. Uh, would you say snake eater? No, your favorite is metal gear solid.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, sir.

neocharge: And then would you say snake eaters in your top three?

Leon Lionheartly: ah Snake Eater is definitely a top three. Ironically, it goes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3.

neocharge: Very cool. Very cool. Good pick. Uh, Alex, do you want to go next or last?

OracleCardsAndGames: I'll go next. um

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Starting with number 10. um Sonic the Hedgehog. The first game on Genesis. like Instantly recognizable main theme. and Instantly recognizable first level.

neocharge: oh

OracleCardsAndGames: I can play all the songs on guitar. It's phenomenal.

neocharge: Oh, yeah. um Ironically, another MAGFest shout out. Sonic was the theme last year. So I got to listen to a lot of Sonic music. And yeah, the Green Hill Zone on Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: Just immediately anyone will recognize that. So...

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: Cool. um And I like, dude, I like Sonic Colors soundtrack. um um' I'm a big fan of Sonic music. So what's ah so Sonic 2 is your favorite of the Sonic series?

OracleCardsAndGames: No, the the my favorite in the Sonic series, um that's Sonic Adventure 2. um

neocharge: Okay. Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Favorite soundtrack, though, that goes to the original Sonic the Hedgehog, period, end of story.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

neocharge: Gotcha.

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: Gotcha.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah i It took a lot for me to decide which Sonic game was going to make the list and where it was going to be. None of them could make my top five, but one of them had to be there somewhere.

neocharge: Very cool, very cool. Yeah. um Did you play, you played Generations, ah the the remaster that just came out, ah Sonic X Shadow Generations.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yes, I have.

neocharge: Yeah, cool. that's That's one of my favorites. And kind of it's kind of a mashup of all the games. And you have 2D and 3D. Yeah, dude, Sonic music is is awesome. Good choice. Good choice.

neocharge: um Well, mine is a little more recent. I'm going from 10 to 1, and we all are. So mine's a little more recent. and that's Monster Hunter.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh.

neocharge: Yeah, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, that's pretty fair.

neocharge: Yep. So I, I got in it when, I got into world and, uh, I've recently played wilds and man, every monster has its own theme.

neocharge: ah the near gigante theme, ah by far is probably one of my favorites. World, I'd say, is my favorite of the IP. I haven't played the old ones, but Wilds is is up there.

neocharge: But Worlds still has the best music. ah Monster Hunter World. And every like monster has its own theme. So it's very versatile and really, really gets you in the mood for some hunting. You recently played Wilds, ah Bob.

neocharge: Did you like the like the music? music? good good music

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned something. um

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: and but with It's good music. It is funny, though. you mentioned ah We've got similar themes going on here, and I just want to point it out early on where ah the favorite out of the IP from a soundtrack is not necessarily our favorite out of the game.

Leon Lionheartly: and don't want to take that away from it, but with that... but just throwing it out out there as you do see that. And yeah i think it's good to talk about that because that means there are individual components that shine really through, shine through an IP.

Leon Lionheartly: and ah yeah And the reason I bring this up for the listeners is if somebody looks at you and says, oh, that one in the, you know, the Resident Evil 6 sucks.

neocharge: yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: And it's like, well, did you play the game?

neocharge: Right.

Leon Lionheartly: No? Well, good. Let me tell you. Actually, it's not as strong in the series, but there were key points about it that were really good. And here's some of those but pieces. That's how you start and continue to shape that conversation.

Leon Lionheartly: I wanted to point it out early because I saw it three for three. I doubt we're going to get 30 for 30, but I just had to bring it up.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah We probably will.

neocharge: ah yeah right Yep. Yeah, that's my Monster Hunter as ah as a series. So, Bob, what's your ninth one?

Leon Lionheartly: That's a good one. um So this one is my favorite um in the series, but it is a short series. um And it is a very recent game near and dear to my heart.

Leon Lionheartly: um And that's got to go out to Death Stranding 2. The music in this fucking game is just um peak. um The only reason I did not run around with the soundtrack constantly... but there's minor minor spoiler where you can play music in the game while you're playing right um the only reason i didn't do that because i liked to the ambience of the game but i know for example like you matt you absolutely uh played this um and it it would get absolutely nailed it out of the ballpark uh with his music um if you think that uh this is your how do i put this if you think that want your intro uh that intro was good matt

neocharge: Oh.

Leon Lionheartly: Get to the guy credits. That's all i' got to say.

neocharge: I recently came across one. I don't think it's a spoiler to say the name, but it's Tomorrow's Theme. And I was just... And Woodkid does that. And, i dude, my eyes were wide. Dude, that cutscene. Holy shit.

neocharge: But the soundtrack to it, I was like, oh... It's got like some organ in it. And oh, so good. So good. That's a really good choice.

neocharge: I'm about 50-50. I play the music player about 50% of the time. But then I like the ambiance of the ah the world because the the sound design in that game is phenomenal.

Leon Lionheartly: It really is. um And I think playing that game naturally, where they it kicks in at certain story beats, um really sets the tone of the game really well. So it's not only, not only is it really good fucking music, but they know how to put it in there, so it's not jarring.

neocharge: Yep.

neocharge: Yep. Yep. I'll never forget in the the first one. um And I'm kind of on the fence. like The first one was so impactful, but the second one is a is a better game die technically and on a production level. But the first one, man, that new IP, you didn't know what the fuck was going on. You're going down the hill. Low roar comes in.

Leon Lionheartly: oh lower arm that was a good one i will a admit that was a good scene um but it was it was from intro to outro um that i didn't miss a beat in death stranding too so uh that's why it hit my number nine um but yeah all right uh alex let's hear it what do you got man

neocharge: kind of hard to beat.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: so

neocharge: It's a good one.

OracleCardsAndGames: All right, so this one will kind of show you the kind of gamer I ah can be that I don't tell people about. um This is from a visual novel um ah by Key Visual Arts. It's a tomorrow after it's a wonderful life.

OracleCardsAndGames: um It's not my favorite game in the franchise by any means. so I think the story is kind of lackluster, honestly. um But it shows for visual novels a more serious, less adult-oriented game.

OracleCardsAndGames: play style and all of the music is very piano driven.

neocharge: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: Every single bit of it. Um, it's piano and violin. None of it's, there's a little bit of like electronic dance music in there, but none of it's like super complex, anything like that.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's they're all short, simple pieces and they fit the game phenomenally.

neocharge: Very cool. how How does it play? You said it's say like an interactive visual novel.

Leon Lionheartly: Bye, please.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah it's Yeah, it's a visual novel.

neocharge: it play?

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's pretty much the characters are reading the dialogue or like or stating the dialogue. You're reading it. so you've got It's like a pick-your-own-adventure type of thing if you've ever played a vigil and never never played a visual novel before.

neocharge: Very

OracleCardsAndGames: um And you go through the story like that. You get multiple different types of endings based on things that may have happened six hours prior to what you did.

neocharge: cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: you are with what you selected, but it's, it's great. Um, it's got multiple different endings. The soundtrack's absolutely gorgeous and it's very like laid back about it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Well, also sweet at the same time.

neocharge: Very cool. Huh. Well, that's awesome. I've never heard of the game. Um, but yeah, you'll have to send me some, some of your favorite tracks. I'd love to listen to it. I love piano arrangements.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yeah, it's a it's a spinoff game ah from ah Key Visual's ah huge IP that they had, Clonad.

neocharge: Uh,

OracleCardsAndGames: That one got an anime add adaptation, and Tomoyo is one of the characters from that. And it's just more so going through like, hey, if in Clonad you were to say this is the best girl in the show or the best girl in the game, this is the story you would be going through.

OracleCardsAndGames: And it's phenomenal.

neocharge: Very cool.

Leon Lionheartly: That's awesome.

neocharge: Very cool.

Leon Lionheartly: i You say piano tracks. No, Uematsu during the PS1 era. um and That's all I'm going to say.

neocharge: We're getting there. We're definitely getting there.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: might be way up there for me. ah Yeah, Nobuo Uematsu is ah ua masu is one of the greats. so Yeah. um My next one is in... yeah I don't know. I don't know if it's IP or this game ah because I'm more of a fan of the 3D ones than the side-scrolling ones.

neocharge: Super Mario. ah And specifically, Super Mario Galaxy.

Leon Lionheartly: Well, there goes mine.

neocharge: Super Mario... Yeah, yeah. No, i'll just I'll just do Galaxy.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: I know. i know, man.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: I'm sorry. No, no, no you you say You can still say the IP, but is a Galaxy for you too?

Leon Lionheartly: Specifically Galaxy. ah in the and know All right, I'll put it this way.

neocharge: Oh, shit.

Leon Lionheartly: Galaxy in the 3D. I have a 2D, so we're good to go.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: um I'll just replace. Keep going.

neocharge: Dude, Galaxy released originally on the Wii and was re-released with the collection, the anniversary collection, the 3D anniversary collection on the Switch that you can play with Procon.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Awesome version. Yeah. But dude, it was orchestral. Every planet had its own theme. Just grand, amazing sounds. just And then some of them are like remixed orchestrally.

neocharge: Some of the old Mario music. Yeah, Galaxy by far has the the best music in the series. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: So the question is, do you like Galaxy or Galaxy 2?

neocharge: Ooh, ooh, that's a good question. um I'm a big fan of the original. i Gameplay-wise, I like, too. It incorporated Yoshi and a lot of new mechanics. It had an incredible soundtrack as well.

neocharge: Hmm. I'm going to have to say... Man... I don't know. the The first one hit me because it was like the new like Mario. You got anti-gravity. You're going around these fucking planets.

neocharge: It's my favorite 3D Mario of all time. And two, just kind of i built upon that formula. ah Kind of like Horizon 2, Death Stranding 2, they are better games, but the core game is my favorite, usually. Death Stranding, Horizon, Super Mario Galaxy.

neocharge: So yeah, I still have say Super mare Mario Galaxy 1.

Leon Lionheartly: I respect that. I'm with, this is one of the few times, not one of the few times, but this is one of those times where I'm with you. yeah Galaxy One. I get it. Galaxy 2 is better mechanically, but man.

neocharge: Right.

Leon Lionheartly: And there's something about that music that hit in Galaxy 1 that just...

neocharge: just grand.

Leon Lionheartly: You can't...

neocharge: Like it's it's like the grand scale of like, we were coming off of sunshine, like going around islands. And then they're like, Oh no, you're going to go into fucking space and traverse the universe. And we're like, ah, I would be thrilled if the next 3d Mario on switch two was super Mario galaxy three, I would be thrilled.

Leon Lionheartly: I'd be right there playing with you, buddy.

neocharge: Hell yeah. Yeah. Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: I actually kind of feel like the odd man out there where Sunshine is actually my favorite. The 3D Marios.

neocharge: I love sunshine. Sunshine was great. Uh, but yeah, galaxy tops it for me.

OracleCardsAndGames: I get it. i love the game. I've played the hell out of it. but you know Art of subjective, like you said.

neocharge: Of course. Of course. Yeah, for sure. It hits people different.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah, it's it's a phenomenal game.

neocharge: Um, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's a phenomenal soundtrack. and Sunshine just has the nostalgia for me that Galaxy doesn't have. So I think that's the only reason why it wins, honestly.

neocharge: Gotcha.

neocharge: Gotcha.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Totally understandable. Sorry for stealing that, Bob, but you still want to mine.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, it's okay.

Leon Lionheartly: It just means they're they're that good, right?

neocharge: i've Yeah, we probably have some more matchups, I'd say.

Leon Lionheartly: I

OracleCardsAndGames: I know I definitely do.

neocharge: Yep. So if if someone says one that's on the list, we can just all three talk about it together and say, oh, that's my third or that's my fifth. You know, we'll just do that because it it apparently we all have good taste in video game music.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, sir. and well and You know what? if i can If I can think about it, I'll put an honorable mention in that spot so we can kind a skip. So we've got something to talk about during those slots, I guess is the best way to put it.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: All right. So ah Galaxy, yeah. Number eight on my list here. um was a the It's my favorite in the series.

Leon Lionheartly: um it was a surprise surprise. ah for me because I absolutely had almost no clue or anything about this game, um and let alone the series. I just kind of dove in on a whim.

Leon Lionheartly: um And I actually recommended this game to you, Matt. And yeah another another friend also recommended to this game to you. And we finally got you to sit down and play it. um And that's Nier Automata.

OracleCardsAndGames: got There goes my number two.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah ah

neocharge: Yep. and

OracleCardsAndGames: so

Leon Lionheartly: no

neocharge: Oh, damn.

Leon Lionheartly: ah dead yeah

neocharge: And you haven't played Cellarblade?

Leon Lionheartly: um

neocharge: What the hell?

Leon Lionheartly: ah Yeah, what can I say? Nier Automata is a weird-ass game, its but it switches with between 3D adventure, 2D platforming, and the music dynamically changes with it um in a manner that just...

Leon Lionheartly: a kind of blends to get It kind of blends. It's one of those few games where if you're coming around a corner or something and you're slowly moving to another zone, it doesn't jar you with ending a track and going on to the next one. It blends it together into a fade out and fade in kind of a situation.

Leon Lionheartly: um And the track that plays during the circus ah or carnival area still to this day, I can hear it in my head. It rings and sings to me.

neocharge: Oh, dude.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Dude, the carnival theme, in my opinion, is one of the greatest compositions I've ever heard in music.

neocharge: Yup. I remember ah you and another friend ah recommended this. Actually, me and Ryan, shout out to Infinity's End, ah at MAGFest, i he was like, dude, you got to play Nier Automata. And I was like, okay, well, you got to play Resident Evil Village.

neocharge: And he's like, all right, next year, this this year, we got to both play it. And it was, we had to play these games. It was like a gentleman's agreement. And I finally got around to playing it. It was on my list and Man, what a fucking soundtrack.

neocharge: Oh my God. Incredible pick.

OracleCardsAndGames: in

neocharge: It's your number two, Alex. That's awesome.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, and in in my... There's there's more Square Enix titles on my list. They're all over it, but in my opinion, ah I honestly think Nier Automata is the greatest soundtrack that Square's done.

neocharge: Oh yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

OracleCardsAndGames: like it's It hits every little box for me, personally. um There's emotional pieces, there's really high-powered, driven pieces, and it all fits in every single individual little piece of the game.

OracleCardsAndGames: And it's just stellar.

neocharge: it's Speaking of, Alex, my friend, he's heavily inspired musically-wise and gameplay-wise by Nier Automata.

OracleCardsAndGames: I know I need to play Stellar Blade. I'll get around to it eventually.

OracleCardsAndGames: As long as it's better than Replicant, I'll do it.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, yes. A hundred percent.

neocharge: I haven't played Replicate, so I can't tell what say.

Leon Lionheartly: i I played about 15 hours of Replicant, and I can tell you it's significantly better better than Replicant. um It is so inspired by Nier that there they did they did a crossover with Nier, so you can be ah the main character from Sierra LeBlade, you can be Eve, but in a 2B costume.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: That's all I'm going to say.

OracleCardsAndGames: oh awesome. Sick.

neocharge: yeah yeah So I have an unpopular opinion with Nier Automata. I actually like A2

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, unpopular opinion.

neocharge: over 2B. but It is an unpopular opinion. It's my opinion. But 2B has those like mommy hot vibes. A2 has that like mistress.

neocharge: like mysterious vibe. It's just, um I'm into a two more than 2B.

Leon Lionheartly: And

neocharge: I know it's unpopular, but hey. Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: see, you give me the hot mommy vibes.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah I'm a sucker for it.

neocharge: Right.

Leon Lionheartly: What can I say?

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: I mean, have have you met my wife?

Leon Lionheartly: Oh,

OracleCardsAndGames: That's kind of what I'm after.

neocharge: There you go!

neocharge: She turns around, she's like, what? Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: but but

Leon Lionheartly: oh

neocharge: Excellent. Love it. ah Alex, your eighth one I think we're on.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. ah After number two was robbed. I might steal this one from one of you guys. Mega Man X.

neocharge: Oh, you probably stole it from Bob.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh no. I'm sorry, Bob.

neocharge: What?

Leon Lionheartly: How many fingers am I holding up, Matt?

OracleCardsAndGames: Um...

neocharge: One.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. ah He did say that.

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: Dang, you stole your first spot. Shit.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah so for for Yeah, so I knew, like, I'm like, shit.

Leon Lionheartly: That was an unexpected twist.

OracleCardsAndGames: I love i love the soundtrack in the game. Mega Man X is not my favorite one. Anybody who knows me knows the second one is my favorite game. um But X does have the best soundtrack in the entire franchise, to me at least.

OracleCardsAndGames: And I guess to Bob as well. um Everything is instantly recognizable. Once again, it's one of those times where every single individual piece of music fits every single stage that they're in.

OracleCardsAndGames: and I can't really ask for more out of a soundtrack.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: That's going to be a recurring theme on my entire list is how well it fits when the soundtracks or when different pieces are playing.

neocharge: awesome.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, that's exactly why it's number one on my list.

neocharge: that's awesome

Leon Lionheartly: um Not only are the tracks good, but they fit thematically, um particularly in the eight bit era that 8-bit era. our Well, 16-bit in this case. And you only had so many different channels and things of that nature sure with the sound card, ah which, by the way, fun Matt Popquiz, who made the sound trip for the SNES,

neocharge: Sony.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, there you go. Specifically?

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: ah Specifically? ah

Leon Lionheartly: Specifically? know who's the name behind it?

neocharge: No, I can't go that deep.

Leon Lionheartly: your hint Give you a hint. He's considered the father of the PlayStation.

neocharge: ah Shit. I don't know.

Leon Lionheartly: Really?

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm blinking too, unfortunately.

Leon Lionheartly: Really?

neocharge: I'm blanking.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm really blinking.

neocharge: I'm blanking. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Ken Kuguragi, anybody?

neocharge: Ah, yeah, Kuguragi, yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: Yep. Dang.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, i he made he may he made it, but that that's a different story. um But yes, you're right. H in every one of the tracks plays the level, and it's at that period where you had to replay music over and over again without it becoming repetitive.

Leon Lionheartly: um So that's exactly why it's on my number one list. It's solid. It fits. It never gets old. um I can hear every track in my head on demand.

neocharge: That's amazing. Yeah. um MagFest next year is going to be Mega Man X themed.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: And I know I keep bringing up MagFest, but this is a video game soundtrack music based episode. And MagFest stands for Music and Games Festival. It's literally a four day celebration of the music in video games.

neocharge: So if you love music and you love video games, MagFest is where it's at.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, sir.

neocharge: ah Yeah. And we'll be there. We'll be there. So Mega Man themed. I can't wait. I can't wait. ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Really sorry to steal that one, Bob.

neocharge: That's awesome.

OracleCardsAndGames: Really sorry to steal that one.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah ah Hey, you know what?

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: That's how it goes, right? Maybe I'll steal your number one.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Probably.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Somebody will.

neocharge: I think I, yeah, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: and

neocharge: um I don't think either of you have this because I, I don't know if you've played it, Alex. I know you haven't Bob, um but this is the Tales of series.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: Depends on you.

neocharge: Gotcha. ah Specifically, Symphonia. Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, it's not on my list, so you're good. But yeah, I've played it.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I get it, man.

neocharge: Yep. Symphonia and Bergeria. ah These are action-based JRPGs in an anime style, and they have some really damn good music and soundtracks. Very versatile tracks, all the way to like jazz persona stuff, to harps, to to orchestral, to organs, all of it.

neocharge: And i mean, Tales of Arise. You played Tales of Arise, Bob, right?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, absolutely. Loved it.

neocharge: Awesome soundtrack. Yeah. So, um yeah, the Tales of series has some amazing tracks in the soundtrack and it kind of in the same vein.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: I'm going to like pigeonhole that this in here, but you actually might have it on your list, Bob. So I'm not going to. Never mind. Unless I'll keep it for the end if you don't say it, but it's in the same vein as JRPG. Let's just say that.

neocharge: ah You might have it on your list, so I won't say it. But yeah, the Tales of series, if you haven't played any of the Tales of series, they're incredible action-based JRPGs. ah Arise was the most recent one, and we're chomping at the bit for the next one.

neocharge: So Symphonia is one of my favorites. Bergeria has another really good soundtrack, a lot of dark tones, and I like my dark cathedral orchestral organ music, which is in my top three specific IP.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: So that you could probably guess. um But yeah, Tales of series. 100%.

Leon Lionheartly: That's good, man.

OracleCardsAndGames: the The entire franchise, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: I definitely like to rise.

neocharge: What's that?

OracleCardsAndGames: The entire franchise is stellar.

neocharge: Yeah. Yep. There's like 20 games. You got Legendia, Grace's F, Abyss, Symphonia, Vesperia, Bergeria, Arise.

OracleCardsAndGames: to

neocharge: Xylia, Zestaria.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: The list goes on, right?

Leon Lionheartly: you say xenophobia?

Leon Lionheartly: yeah Oh.

neocharge: Chlamydia. No, I'm kidding.

Leon Lionheartly: ah I wasn't going to say it.

neocharge: Nails of chlamydia.

Leon Lionheartly: yes

neocharge: Sounds like my nickname in high school. Anyway, no.

neocharge: Oh, shit.

Leon Lionheartly: ah That's a good one. oh

neocharge: little laugh.

Leon Lionheartly: and the fuck Where fuck were we?

neocharge: Seven.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, yeah, seven.

neocharge: did? Ah, okay. Okay.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, yeah. You stole my number... or um Yeah, you stole my number seven there, Matt. um no Yeah, it was Super Mario Galaxy.

neocharge: i did ah okay

Leon Lionheartly: um So I'm going to plug this in um or in just as a quick... um It's not my favorite in the series... or It is my favorite in the series, but it's not my favorite when it comes to the soundtrack, which is going to surprise the hell out of a lot of people who and who know me.

Leon Lionheartly: um But I got to put it out to my boy, Uematsu. Final Fantasy VIII. It's going on that list. um Yeah, that intro. um ah Dude, it was ah it was the first opportunity where they got to do full orchestral music, um and it really shows.

neocharge: Very cool. I'm surprised this is so low on your list.

Leon Lionheartly: um so a isn So here's the funny thing. Eight is my favorite in the Final Fantasy series, but it does not hold my favorite soundtrack in the series.

neocharge: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: I see.

Leon Lionheartly: I'll give you that i'll give you that a little bit of a hint.

neocharge: I see. Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. I get that. I can imagine which one might be your favorite soundtrack in the series, but we'll get to that when we get to it.

Leon Lionheartly: you Unless you steal it, because I got a feeling it's on yours.

neocharge: Well, I did, dude.

OracleCardsAndGames: It might be.

neocharge: it

OracleCardsAndGames: I only have one Final Fantasy title on this list.

neocharge: I only, I had to put it by IP. There's so many. Yeah, so I think we all have Final Fantasy on our list. So, yeah, that's a good one. That's a good one.

neocharge: i I still need to play 8. um But Final Fantasy, yeah, incredible, incredible music.

neocharge: So, Alex.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, so...

neocharge: Alex.

Leon Lionheartly: Alex?

OracleCardsAndGames: So, for me, uh... I'm sorry. it might be on somebody's. It might not. Who knows? You guys might not be as big of metal heads as I am. um Doom Eternal. All day, every day.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mick Gordon is phenomenal on that soundtrack.

neocharge: Yeah, is. I saw it live.

OracleCardsAndGames: All over it.

neocharge: Saw it live at the Game Awards. It was epic. It was awesome. Bob, that's got to be on your list.

Leon Lionheartly: ah You know, it was not. And the reason it was not, it was going to be on the top 10. Like, I'm going to tell you right now, it was that really close. But something in the back of my mind said, somebody's going to fucking say it.

Leon Lionheartly: So I avoided the conflict. um

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: So there's another one of my all honorable mentions out the door. Doom Eternal. Amazing. Amazing. ah It is my favorite soundtrack and it is my favorite Doom out of the three that came that recently this whatever know generation that you're calling it.

neocharge: The

Leon Lionheartly: Whatever.

neocharge: trilogy?

Leon Lionheartly: Trilogy.

neocharge: but sure Yeah, I agree.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh.

neocharge: Eternal's the best one, in my opinion, for sure.

OracleCardsAndGames: i like I like to refer to it all as like the revived Bethesda games.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: and

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: oh

OracleCardsAndGames: like wolf Wolfenstein New Order almost almost took it for me.

Leon Lionheartly: so

neocharge: Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: But I'm like, which one should be at number seven and which one shouldn't be on the list? Because that's how I was looking at it I'm like, but Wolfenstein just has memorable moments in the game for me, not necessarily the soundtrack.

OracleCardsAndGames: So Doom had to take it

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: council Very cool. That's a good one. um I know we flexed the system here with the Doom the Dark Ages, and I've used Doom Eternal to do some ah base ah calibration.

neocharge: So um that shit hits.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: um Oh, yeah. so

neocharge: And I feel like Eternal hits more than Dark Ages did, honestly. So Mick Gordon killed it.

OracleCardsAndGames: to To a point, yeah, but shit, you can't go wrong with either one. Honestly, they're both jams.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: You don't even notice you're playing a video game half the time.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: At least me. I don't notice I'm playing a video game when I'm playing Doom.

neocharge: Oh, yeah, dude, the the trilogy was incredible for sure.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: That's a good one. That's a good one. ah Yeah. So my next one is was on the 64. There were two entries in the series. There was one entry that we don't talk about on the 360.

neocharge: ah But this soundtrack is composed by Grant Kirkhope. ah He also did Conker's Bad Fur Day. He also did Donkey Kong 64. And this is Banjo-Kazooie.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I knew that was coming.........................

neocharge: um

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Dude, i can I can hear every single level in my head. And... ah Grant Kirkhope was part of Rare. ah they The most recent game that the team did, and I say the team because Rare kind of took their best of the best and created Playtonic Studios.

neocharge: And they came out with a Banjo-Kazooie successor. ah Two games, Yooka-Laylee with not a bear and a bird, but a lizard and a bat. um It was pretty good.

neocharge: And then they also did Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. But Grant Kirkhope did the whole soundtrack and man, the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack. Incredible. I think it was one of the first, if not in the first handfuls of games to have the music that would transition real time when you got close to one of the levels.

neocharge: And it was it would kind of do lot. Gruntilda's theme in her castle based on the level that you were like next to.

neocharge: Like if you went to the winter level, it would have like more of the, the like chimes. Um, yeah. So it was like dynamic music. And I think it was one of the first, uh, on the 64. It's in my top 10 games of all time that we already talked about.

neocharge: Uh, Banjo Kazooie dude, the, the, uh, mad monster mansion level fucking epic.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, yeah the rule what well I'm just saying, what are you collecting in that game?

neocharge: Puzzle pieces.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, yeah.

neocharge: Oh, music notes. Music notes.

Leon Lionheartly: Music notes. There you go.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Uh-huh.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

neocharge: And banjo kazooie is, they're literally two instruments.

Leon Lionheartly: i

Leon Lionheartly: ahha

neocharge: So it's heavily inspired by music. So.

Leon Lionheartly: No, that's that's exactly it, dude. i I respect that but at that choice. um Out of that era, I prefer Conker's Bad for a bad fur Day, um just because of a couple of different songs that are in there.

Leon Lionheartly: um But Banjo-Kazooie is a solid choice.

neocharge: Hmm.

Leon Lionheartly: I didn't think about the 64 era. Good call, man.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: You didn't even come close to stealing anything. I don't think I have a single 64 game on here.

neocharge: yeah

neocharge: Yeah. You like in Conker's Bad Fur Day, I am the mighty poo.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes.

neocharge: yeah

neocharge: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah

neocharge: that's an epic boss battle.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: And I will throw my shit on you.

Leon Lionheartly: ah Shit out, you.

neocharge: Classic.

Leon Lionheartly: o oh he Got a real opera singer to talk about flinging shit.

neocharge: Classic.

Leon Lionheartly: That's all I'm saying.

neocharge: Right? Epic.

Leon Lionheartly: All right.

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah. Banjo-Kazooie, just classic, incredible soundtrack. Banjo-Tooie had a really good soundtrack too. But again, nothing beats the original, in my opinion. So...

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, I think that's so ah a pretty consistent opinion throughout the the fan base, honestly.

Leon Lionheartly: There you go

neocharge: Yep. And Jesus, Xbox, please just let go of Rare so they can make Banjo 3E or a remake of Banjo-Kazooie in Unreal Engine 5.

neocharge: Can you think about that? Or do something with the fucking IP.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, my God.

neocharge: All right, I'm done.

Leon Lionheartly: go.

OracleCardsAndGames: but it ah Preach. Come on, man. Keep going.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Let it all out.

neocharge: The last game we got was Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, which was fucking Banjo-Kazooie Minecraft. ah it was It was okay. It was a far cry from the third-person platformers that we got, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

neocharge: So on its own, it was okay. It was fun. I mean, it was like... It walked so Tears of the Kingdom could run, honestly. But just... Man, we want Banjo 3.

neocharge: Come on. You're sitting on that... Just... goldmine of an IP. Give us the bear and bird. We want it.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, just don't give us nuts and bolts. That's all we ask.

neocharge: Yeah, no. not Not Nuts and Bolts 2, for the love of God. so Remember the one on the the... There was one on the ah Game Boy Advance, too. I it's called. Like Gruntilda's Revenge or some shit like that.

Leon Lionheartly: bench

neocharge: I played it.

Leon Lionheartly: you You nailed it. Yeah, that's exactly it. Gratilda's Revenge. um

neocharge: Nice. I remember playing it.

Leon Lionheartly: At least based on my memory. um

neocharge: Yep. Yep. So...

Leon Lionheartly: Well, I'm going to call this next one Just before, because i don't think anybody else here, but if i it got stolen, I'd be really, really sad. ah Simply because not only is it in my top 10 music, it's my top game of all time.

Leon Lionheartly: um I'm taking it. It's Super Mario RPG, Legend of the Seven Stars.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: But... This soundtrack was a beautiful, beautiful merger between Nintendo and Square Soft when they were at the top of their game.

Leon Lionheartly: um And every part of this is a the battle music, the overworld, um everything part of it. They all fit.

Leon Lionheartly: It goes back into the same premise ah that same theme that we've been talking about where music has to fit the tone of of the game or the level or whatever part of it in every one of these fits.

Leon Lionheartly: ah Yoshi's ah theme, the Yoshi's Island theme in there when you're talking, I love it. um Even this soundtrack is so is so good to me that it's not only the music, but it's also the the tunes that come out of it.

Leon Lionheartly: Like when you talk to people, the the animmate of the sounds that come with the jumping or hitting a block, all of it that is there. This is why um I'm just, the only thing that's so sad is the fact that it's so down far far down on the list, which gives you gives you a bit of an idea of ah who's coming up. Yeah.

neocharge: Oh yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, that was the one game that almost made my list. And I was like, you know what? I need to let Bob have this one. Like, period, end into story. I know you love the game. It almost made mine. I get it, dude.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, that too.

neocharge: Yeah. Paper Mario. The thousand year door has a really good soundtrack too. Um, that was a spiritual successor for, uh, legend of the seven stars.

OracleCardsAndGames: and i yeah that too

neocharge: So yeah, legend seven stars just recently got remade. and I, they remade the soundtrack too. So good choice.

Leon Lionheartly: ah you know You know, it's funny. i I played that entire game i with the original soundtrack. That's how much I love it.

neocharge: Nice.

Leon Lionheartly: um I listened to the new mixes and I was like, okay, it's modern, but it is not tea but it's kind of like a we did a remix and not a and not a upscaling or improving the quality.

Leon Lionheartly: um So I was like, fuck that. Going back to the original, played the entire game on the original soundtrack.

neocharge: Very cool. Yeah, Nintendo collaborated with Squaresoft on that one. Yeah. Good one. Good one. All right.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. My next one, it's an indie title. um Journey.

neocharge: Okay. Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Dude, the soundtrack for the game is just so fucking amazing.

neocharge: Yes.

OracleCardsAndGames: Okay. I, I listened to journey, the soundtrack, um, not the band, the soundtrack, both phenomenal, but the soundtrack, um, and that one was actually like, that inspired so much music out of me, just learning the scales in the game.

OracleCardsAndGames: And Jesus, like it, the, the music tell the, the music is the game.

neocharge: That's awesome that it inspired you.

OracleCardsAndGames: If we're being completely honest here, um,

neocharge: It's a journey.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Cheesy, but yeah, completely accurate. um the The game's very much driven by the music and the visuals.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: You don't get dialogue. It's just music and visuals. And it's art, and in my opinion. ah If we were to have top 10 most artistic pieces in gaming, that's number one for me.

OracleCardsAndGames: Because the entire game is a living art piece.

neocharge: us

neocharge: 100%.

neocharge: Austin Wintory, he does the soundtrack.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Did you play the Pathless?

OracleCardsAndGames: I have not, no.

neocharge: Ooh, another good one. And are you excited for Sword of the Sea?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yes.

neocharge: because that's another one of his. He did Abzu. He did Journey. He's doing Sword of the Sea. I do believe he did The Pathless as well. I can double check that. Austin Wintry. ah Journey's got one of the most fabled soundtracks of of all time. It's a three-hour game, Bob.

neocharge: You can beat it in an evening, and you will cry the entire time, trust me.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, the amount of time it takes to listen to the soundtrack is the time it takes to play the game.

neocharge: And there's a huge twist at the end.

neocharge: Yep, yep.

Leon Lionheartly: um right i might i might um it's ah It's on the list of short games to fill in between. um i'm so glad i knew what you were I knew Matt was going to say something. um and I'm so glad you said something, Alex, because as soon as you said that game, i the first thing that came out of my ADHD pot-riddled brain was, Don't stop believing.

OracleCardsAndGames: I had to make the distinction because there' there's people that might get confused.

neocharge: cheese

Leon Lionheartly: Oh.

neocharge: Right, right. um Yeah. Sword of the Sea is a put down everything in play. It's probably going to be short. But yeah, Austin Wintry is one of the greats. He is an incredible composer.

neocharge: ah and Journey was like one of the first things he did video game wise, wasn't it?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yes, it was.

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah. Good pick. Good pick. but Yeah. You just got to play it, Bob. There's a, I can't say anything. There's it's, it's not what you think.

neocharge: It's short. And I think it won game of the year and it's, it's, it's, yeah, it's an, it's a three hour title to winning game of the year.

OracleCardsAndGames: It did.

neocharge: It's, it's in just an incredible journey.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Uh, yeah, man. Great pick.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's the original Fall Golden Path, if I'm completely honest.

neocharge: Um,

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: No.

neocharge: Yeah. Follow the light. i I think this is all on our list and I'm going to say it and it's probably higher on your lists.

OracleCardsAndGames: No!

neocharge: Yeah. We did a spoiler cast on it.

OracleCardsAndGames: No!

neocharge: Yep. ah Let's just all talk about it.

Leon Lionheartly: There

neocharge: Let's just all talk about it. I'm talking about Claire Obscure Expedition 33.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's my number one!

neocharge: thirty three

Leon Lionheartly: went my number two. There went my number two.

neocharge: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: oh my god.

neocharge: ah Yeah, I can't beat the top three of mine.

OracleCardsAndGames: they're... Dude.

neocharge: i I can't. um

OracleCardsAndGames: do

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Go ahead, Matt.

neocharge: What can we say?

Leon Lionheartly: Kick T it off.

neocharge: What can we say?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Does someone want to put a clip Monoco? Monoco's theme? Um, dude, just, I remember, uh, first hearing clips of this, this, the Monoko's theme.

neocharge: And I think one other, think it was just like the Claire Obscure, um, regular theme. And I was like, oh shit, this game's to be special. This game's going to be fucking special. The composer, does anyone have the name?

neocharge: He was, look yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Lorian Testard, yeah.

neocharge: Lorian Testard. The range of this and the the tracks, the breadth, like the Renoir fight.

Leon Lionheartly: you.

neocharge: I don't want to get in some too many spoilers, but the no one knows who that is. um But there was a specific fight with just vocals and, oh man.

neocharge: So it was your number one and your number two?

OracleCardsAndGames: if Yeah, um I honestly think one of the big driving forces why that made number one for me was, spoilers, the song Envie à Témire, however it's pronounced in French, um going into the Renoir fight.

neocharge: Yep.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: and It's so beautifully executed.

neocharge: Insane.

OracleCardsAndGames: That and, you know, the my groomsmen and I are going be ah walking down the aisle to Monoko's theme. I got that approved by the wife.

neocharge: ah fun

OracleCardsAndGames: So...

neocharge: That's awesome. Hell yeah. um Bob, and it was your number two.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I was number two on the list. um um But at the end of the day, this what makes Claire good, yeah or why it was under my number two, is not only is everything memorable, um everything fits.

Leon Lionheartly: But this is one of those few times where you can take something that's offbeat from the the theme. If you listen to an album cover to cover, ah yeah you'll end up with these themes that kind of stretch out and you you get these tempos.

Leon Lionheartly: And then there's this one spike of randomness in the middle of the fucking game. And you can't... but yet it's not in a bad way. it off It catches you off guard, and then it catch and then it catches you because you're like the huminate in your head.

Leon Lionheartly: And of course, we're talking ah I'm talking about Minoko's theme. um it makes it does not If you take that piece and shoved it in,

neocharge: Yes.

Leon Lionheartly: did not have the If you haven't played the game, you don't have any context, but I'm telling you, it is jarring, particularly what happens before and after. um that the Those scenes before and after the entire Minoco intro arc, if you will.

Leon Lionheartly: um And you just end up with that industrial-like almost. Is that the best term? Alex, you're the music guy here. Yeah, that industrial...

Leon Lionheartly: um here

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, it's it's a little industrial, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah that industrial

OracleCardsAndGames: Industrial jazz.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, it's of like industrial jazz smooched in between these very, very opermatic, sad, somber pieces. a It's a cherry on top for me.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Oh yeah. I remember when that first played. ah Incredible, but it didn't, I can't, I can't beat my top five ever. That's why I said, Oh yeah. Top five is easy.

neocharge: Cause they still haven't been beat, but yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Mm-hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: And that's that's that's fair. Claire came out of nowhere for me. like i mean I think I talked about that heavily in the spoiler cast, but damn the soundtrack.

neocharge: Oh yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: And the the thing that they found him off of SoundCloud just makes it even better. Makes it ten times better.

neocharge: Yeah.

neocharge: He basically like went on Reddit and was like, hey, I'm ah creating a game. Who wants in? All right, we got to play a clip of Monoko's theme. We got to.

neocharge: So.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah for the For the audience, since we're all on this.

neocharge: are

neocharge: We're all dancing.

Leon Lionheartly: It's that, what's that ah Joe Rogan scene where they're all just kind of like vibing?

neocharge: Right?

Leon Lionheartly: Oh.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: that seems so awesome man no business being the best song in the game

neocharge: It's so good. So good. I like the...

Leon Lionheartly: That's what I love. It has no right being that good. Yeah. its

neocharge: Yeah. Just, oh man, incredible soundtrack. Incredible soundtrack. ah Just a gem of a game. And it's still my game of the year. So, yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, same. Same. Even if I played Death Stranding 2, it's still going to be my game in of the year.

neocharge: Yep.

neocharge: Yep. All right.

Leon Lionheartly: You say that now.

neocharge: i knew I knew that was all on our lists.

OracleCardsAndGames: um I'm going to keep saying that.

neocharge: I knew that was all on on all our lists. So, sorry. Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: That's half the fun, right?

OracleCardsAndGames: it's It's fine. I'll find an honorable mention to throw in there. I've got a couple.

neocharge: All right.

Leon Lionheartly: Well, um here we are, folks.

neocharge: Top five.

Leon Lionheartly: Top five. um

OracleCardsAndGames: Where's the three remaining for me?

Leon Lionheartly: yeah I'm i'm not goingnna to um'm going to be a yeah to be honest with the with the audience here. um Music is great piece of video game, um but it took me a little while to think about this list. um and There's a couple in the top five, like Mega Man X will be number one. um It's very hard to dethrone that one.

Leon Lionheartly: um There's some others like Claire um and another game that I'm going to talk about later that kind of surprised you me with their music. um And I say this because I'm more of a logically brained, aligned person.

Leon Lionheartly: um Music doesn't come naturally to me. and um I can't dance. I can't play an instrument. um I play 4X games, but guys. you know but Let's leave it like that. um But number five on this list is...

Leon Lionheartly: the type oh ah me or is The type of game where if I were to whistle the music, the music I still can do it to this day. I know the theme, or at least one of the main themes.

Leon Lionheartly: um I do it subconsciously and without knowing because it's one of my tics and tisms. it is peak 2D platform Mario.

Leon Lionheartly: um And that's going to be Star Mario World.

neocharge: Oh, world nice. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: um the music in that is so good. It has no right being that good on the SNES.

OracleCardsAndGames: sorry.

Leon Lionheartly: It's unreal. the yeah the that first The first level from the dinosaur, when you're on Dinosaur Island and starting out, the music that you get when you go to the Bowser's theme and you get you know that underwater sound um

neocharge: No, no, no, no.

Leon Lionheartly: underwater Yeah, the underwater theme ah sounds amazing and it is not annoying like you the the first couple. um It's got the... it It's kind of like it reminds me of Donkey Kong Country where the music fits that underqua ah underwater and you think, okay, what's an aquatic theme?

Leon Lionheartly: um Somebody came up with it. Boom, there it is on the board. That's what it does. Yeah. um But yeah, Super Mario World is definitely one of those games that I hear each and one of the themes. I can do them in my head. And like I said, subconsciously, I'll just start whistling um that first level theme, or that first level, without even realizing it.

neocharge: Beautiful. Yeah. I watched Bit Brigade ah perform that entire game ah live. It was awesome.

Leon Lionheartly: I can beat that game at probably about... With speedruns? Yeah, could be it's a pretty quick, easy game to beat, actually, if you know what you're doing.

neocharge: Yeah, yeah. They did it like an hour. Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, yeah, it takes about that much.

neocharge: Very cool. That's a great one. Classic.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, I had no worries about that one being stolen. Actually, I kind of had i kind of did.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, no.

OracleCardsAndGames: My three remaining ones I'm not worried about, but we'll see. Well, kind of four remaining ones.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah um So number five for me, and you'd be surprised it's not higher up on the list, um Legend of Dragoon.

neocharge: Let's hear

Leon Lionheartly: so

OracleCardsAndGames: it's It's my number five.

neocharge: it.

OracleCardsAndGames: You'd think it'd be my number one, but it's not. it's It's number five. um Unfortunately, there's not enough themes in the game for it to really you know amp it up anymore.

OracleCardsAndGames: Like the boss themes. There's only four main boss themes. You hear them all in the first disc, you hear them on the second disc, hear them on the third, and in the fourth. um But the the pieces for the time...

OracleCardsAndGames: were pretty solid, pretty phenomenal. Um, a lot of legends are good and pieces for anybody who hasn't played it. They are borderline architect or, uh, orchestral almost said architectural, um, borderline art, uh, orchestral.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

OracleCardsAndGames: Some of them kind of tick those boxes for emotion for me. Uh, Shauna's theme is a big one. um kind of reminds me of like being a little kid, like little bit of innocence there. Um,

Leon Lionheartly: you.

OracleCardsAndGames: rose this theme uh in english it translates to despair it is very dark all piano it's it's phenomenal i can't really say much more about it

neocharge: beautiful

neocharge: That's awesome. i'm I am surprised that that's not higher on your list. Where's our remake, Bluepoint? Or Sandfall? Where's our remake?

OracleCardsAndGames: preferably sandfall preferably sandfall blue point will try and make it multiplayer

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: I don't know, man.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: Bluepoint teased it a little bit. ah Halloween a few years ago. They said it was just this whole thing.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: They were teasing all these IPs and one of them was Dart Across the Sky and Dart was capitalized. So, those motherfuckers.

OracleCardsAndGames: We'll see.

neocharge: We'll see. We'll see. ah Let's see. Yep. So my top five, they haven't changed in the last fucking 20 years.

neocharge: I did a podcast like seven years ago on this very topic and still the same. ah Nothing's cracked it. Number five, of course, is the legendary IP. of the main protagonist, Samus Aran.

neocharge: And that is Metroid. ah the The entire IP has bangers across the all the games, ah but my personal favorite is Prime.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: Metroid Prime i landing on Talon 4 and just the Talon overworld music is so impactful. i And ironically, and I didn't choose this one because of this plug, but I am going to be streaming Metroid Prime Remastered ah for Metroid Database.

neocharge: ah probably. ah And is sometime in October, I don't know. We're going to do a Metroid marathon and I will be playing this game. So when I have more details, I will let everyone know.

neocharge: ah But yeah, Metroid as a series has the best experience.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: music It's so great. You got Fusion. You got Zero Mission. The original even. The chiptunes. Just an incredible soundtrack. And then Corruption has some bangers.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: um Echoes even even has some really good music. Dread. Holy shit. That soundtrack in Dread. Awesome. But yeah. Prime. Fendrana Drifts. Like.

neocharge: Oh. It's incredible. So. Metroid is an IP. Number five.

Leon Lionheartly: That is... i don't blame you. i In fact, so much... Excuse me. ah That I purposely avoided any Metroid. ah Just because i knew it was coming, right?

Leon Lionheartly: like I knew it was going to be on there.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: I was waiting for it at the top. um I should have suspected it was top five, man. But you're right. Metroid is amazing. the music... every music ah I'd be hard-pressed to find a Metroid game that didn't have good music to it.

neocharge: and

Leon Lionheartly: um So I would absolutely agree with you. um Prime is probably my...

neocharge: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: I don't know. i kind of I'm kind of an old-school snob, and I kind of like Super Metroid.

neocharge: so That's ah another phenomenal one. That's top three for sure in Metroid. Yeah. That has like Zebes and just the the iconic theme. Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Even Federation Force had good fucking music and that game sucks.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Well, I knew he was going to say it too.

Leon Lionheartly: ah yeah is ah but yeah

neocharge: Yep. Yep. Other M had really good music. Not the greatest Metroid, but still amazing music.

OracleCardsAndGames: Nope.

neocharge: I liked Other M.

Leon Lionheartly: it's a good game that's a good pick man good definitely a good pick um well um you guys ready for a shock

neocharge: So, yep.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Sure.

Leon Lionheartly: No, you probably already guessed, Alex. We discussed this earlier. um Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite in the series.

neocharge: you

Leon Lionheartly: The mainline entries, everything across the board that is Final Fantasy. um I've always loved Squall. um I loved his character arc. But the music, and in the music, while it did good, um it was my favorite up until a point.

Leon Lionheartly: um When the PlayStation 2 launched... um i got yeah I got to hear music, and I'm telling you, when I heard the opening theme, not the opening opening theme, but the first full track that came out of there, I went, holy fuck.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, thank God I'm safe.

neocharge: Zandarkand.

Leon Lionheartly: i i love I love everything that Doom did, but this is what metal sounds like on ah on a video game console. um And yeah, you gentlemen are 100% right. The audience is screaming it.

Leon Lionheartly: um That's Final Fantasy X X, whichever way you want to pronounce it.

neocharge: you

Leon Lionheartly: every This was what happens when you give Uematsu the ability to make the music he wants without restriction.

OracleCardsAndGames: Bye.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. There is not a piece in this area this game that I do not love. ah it is I still almost cry like a baby anytime I hear that those first three, four piano notes.

Leon Lionheartly: You know what I'm talking about. ah When you boot up the game and you hit start and you get new game. and Yes, exactly.

neocharge: Yep. yep

Leon Lionheartly: And then you just you hear Titus and he goes, this is my story. You're like, oh shit, you know it's real. Yeah. i love this game I love this game. It's in my top three Final Fantasies for a reason, um but it definitely cracked the the number one on the or the top of the music list when it comes to it, ah just because I'm sorry.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: Everything that came before, it does it better, and everything after looks visually amazing, but I think is missing a piece of that soul.

neocharge: Beautiful. that And you mentioned the heavy metal when he's playing blitz ball and he's upside down and sin comes in and it's like, on turn and her and Oh yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh...

neocharge: yeah It's stuck in my head. Like, that yeah. 10 was incredible. I love 10. And then Zanark and of course the piano.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes.

neocharge: So, Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. I'm so happy you didn't say the Final Fantasy on my list, dude.

neocharge: Hmm.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm so happy somebody else said 10, because that's not the one on mine.

Leon Lionheartly: That's a

neocharge: Dude, Final Fantasy as an IP is my top, um but I have one from Final Fantasy as well. I love to see that it's just peppered throughout this entire list across all of us.

neocharge: So yeah, I don't think either of you have mine because you know me and you're like, we're not going to steal that one from

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: So

Leon Lionheartly: you know You know what's funny is this...

OracleCardsAndGames: It's also not my favorite one, but I get it.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: like yeah, I know your favorite and it's a good one too.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. that's that's they

neocharge: It's another really good one.

Leon Lionheartly: It is. I mean, I'm hard-pressed to find out a bad, truly bad Final Fantasy game. um And what's funny is this game showed me what metal can sound like. And this is why I say Iwamatsu walked, simply because less than a month later, we got DMC.

Leon Lionheartly: And that game ran

neocharge: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: who with the metal music on a PlayStation 2. So, um ah yeah, Devil May Cry 5 is an amazing soundtrack.

neocharge: Good shit.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm out of here.

neocharge: Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah. Let's see that DMC1 remake.

OracleCardsAndGames: Right. Oh my God. That'd be so gorgeous nowadays.

neocharge: you Apparently it's, yeah, rumored.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah.

neocharge: All right, Alex, what's your number four?

OracleCardsAndGames: So number four, um, I, I had to have the role of one per IP and this one kind of bends that role because of something that's going to happen later in my list. Um, secret of mana.

neocharge: Oh, yeah, good.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh.

OracleCardsAndGames: Um, it's, Like I said, bending the rule a little bit. The first one is technically a Final Fantasy game. But the second one defined the Mana series as its own separate IP.

OracleCardsAndGames: and with And that is secret.

neocharge: did you Did you play Visions?

OracleCardsAndGames: I have not played Visions.

neocharge: Oh!

Leon Lionheartly: You need to.

neocharge: The soundtrack in that game, dude.

Leon Lionheartly: Game. hall

neocharge: Oh!

Leon Lionheartly: Everything about that game.

OracleCardsAndGames: Okay.

neocharge: Yes. You gotta play it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Shit. What can I say about secrets that hasn't been said over the past 30 years that it's been around? um Absolutely stellar soundtrack. they're ever For me, every track is instantly recognizable.

OracleCardsAndGames: And dear God, it really pushed the SNES. It really did.

neocharge: Yeah, did.

Leon Lionheartly: up

neocharge: ah You got to play Visions. um so Write this down.

OracleCardsAndGames: and Let me check them.

neocharge: Stellar Blade, Visions, Mana, Death Stranding 2. Start making a list.

Leon Lionheartly: Matt, copy this.

OracleCardsAndGames: Visions of No, no, no, you don't have to, no.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Final Fantasy VIII, Mass Effect, Mass Effect.

neocharge: Yep. Final Fantasy 12. Ooh. oh

Leon Lionheartly: yes

Leon Lionheartly: but okay

OracleCardsAndGames: so Sorry, i let my own opinion out there, but no, you don't have to play 12 at all.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, you do. Dude, I'll listen to him.

neocharge: But talk about the music.

OracleCardsAndGames: No, you don't.

neocharge: The music of 12 is some of the best.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, but...

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: In my opinion, of course. ah Yeah. Secret of Mana. Really good one. um That's ah one of another Square Soft or Square Enix title.

neocharge: I think a Square Soft.

OracleCardsAndGames: That was Squaresoft at the time, yeah.

neocharge: Yeah, Square Soft. Yeah. So, yeah, you got to play Visions. That soundtrack is banging.

OracleCardsAndGames: I just added to my Steam list.

neocharge: Hell yeah. Awesome. Yeah, that's a good pick. um I might be stealing this one from you, Alex. And I'm sorry, but I think it's it's on your list.

OracleCardsAndGames: No.

neocharge: Yeah. I know it's not on Bob's list, but Gen 4 was specifically my favorite. And this is Pokemon. Pokemon.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah, no, it's not on my list. You're good. You're good.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: You're safe.

neocharge: um Pokemon VIP.

OracleCardsAndGames: don't have any Pokemon titles on here.

neocharge: Yeah, but no, Pokemon the series. Just, man, the original, like that's the the iconic theme, right? um What can I say? And then Diamond and Pearl really kicked it up a notch.

neocharge: I love... ah the Diamond and Pearl soundtrack. Emerald was great too. And if if you listen to our top 10 games in episode 10, you'll see that a lot of my list correlates.

OracleCardsAndGames: Okay.

neocharge: And that's because I really value the music in video games. So if you know of my top 10, you'll probably see where this is going. um But yeah, Pokemon has incredible music. The the gym battle theme, ah some of the towns, gold, silver, red, blue, yellow,

neocharge: ah Diamond and Pearl. ah Hell, even Scarlet and Violet had some good good tracks. So yeah, iconic themes. I mean, even Colosseum, XD Gale of Darkness had really good tracks. ah you know If you're just if you're working and you want it like a chill,

neocharge: like lofi uh, based soundtrack, a lot of Pokemon lo-fi out there. A lot of the towns are like super chill.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: I mean, what, uh, like some of the mountain towns just, yeah, game freak cooked.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: And, uh, it's, uh, it's got some of the, the best tracks in, uh, in video games.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: So it's in my,

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: That didn't crack my top three because the top three are up there. I know one of them is yours, Bob. I'm pretty sure. But yeah, Pokemon number four for me, specifically Diamond and Pearl.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, and

neocharge: Dude, the lake.

OracleCardsAndGames: and Lavender Town this is just like the greatest theme to fall asleep to.

neocharge: ah Yep. Yep. Yep. So yeah, it's all right.

Leon Lionheartly: ah permanent sleep too no

neocharge: And then you get you get your dreams eaten by Gengar.

OracleCardsAndGames: Play that at my funeral. Take notes, everyone. Oh,

neocharge: Right? Yeah. It's just so recognizable, right? If you you hear Pokemon, you know, oh yeah, that's fucking Pokemon. So, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: but yeah.

neocharge: Alright.

Leon Lionheartly: no

neocharge: We're in our top three.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I only got one left in there.

neocharge: oh shit.

Leon Lionheartly: He's right. um No, you're right. i'm in there too I'm in that same boat with you, man. But I'm going to give you some...

neocharge: Only one left?

Leon Lionheartly: oh i'm goingnna give it i'm going to give you some r one Sorry, I got one. um Top three out of this. um This one comes a little out of... Well, I mean, it's not out of the field. It's not one that mainline that most people would think about necessarily.

Leon Lionheartly: ah But for me, it holds ah it holds a special place. um So much that it's in my top five, top three games of all time, actually. Yeah. by Kelly but kelly Bailey, um who still works for this company ah that he started ah that he started making this game with.

Leon Lionheartly: um And my not only is it the my favorite soundtrack out of the same game, it's also my favorite game out of the entire so or out of the two-part series, three-part, four-part, whatever you want to call it.

Leon Lionheartly: um And that's got to go to Valve's Half-Life. um This game, back in the day, um The music's to this day, it's very techno-inspired in a lot of regards, um but it slaps.

neocharge: Thank you.

Leon Lionheartly: And it's a like Death Stranding in regards to where you hit certain points, and then the music kind of fades in and starts to build up, and you don't you don't get that sense. yeah It doesn't hit you jarringly.

Leon Lionheartly: um The best example I can give, spoilers, you get to get your suit within the first five minutes of the game, right? But when you, when you grab your suit, this like techno dr beat drops as you're getting all of this boring ass.

Leon Lionheartly: I say boring, but it's a bunch of technical bar ah jargon of the suit booting up and doing self-diagnostic. And you hear that. murmur Do good. do, do, do, you know, and it starts to continue off.

Leon Lionheartly: um Alex, I see you know you know what I'm talking about, right?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: um And it just fades in and it kind of, it feels a little weird to overlap, but it kind of gives you a sense of what you're about to get into. um i That and quite frankly,

Leon Lionheartly: i the the The little clips of sound that happen whenever you pick something up or do anything else that's outside of the music blends so well um that they're used in...

Leon Lionheartly: its but The assets have been reused in other games. Let's leave it like that.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: um But yeah, Half-Life, I've got the fucking tattoo on my arm for a reason, folks. um And that's why it sits at number three....

neocharge: Oh yeah. That's a good one.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: That's a, that's a, that's a really good one.

OracleCardsAndGames: I expect nothing less, honestly.

OracleCardsAndGames: So for me, this one, I can't just say it's one game. It's three, but it's, it's final fantasy 13. Like, i think everybody saw that coming from a mile away.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Both of you guys did. And that's why i was like, please don't, please don't, please don't. Um, It's my favorite game in the franchise. It's in my opinion, the greatest soundtrack and and in squares.

OracleCardsAndGames: Well, aside from near squares repertoire, um, Jesus. I love this game. It was the first Final Fantasy that like brought me to tears booting it up. because like

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: My parents, when I was younger, got me Final Fantasy XII. I didn't like it. They got me XIII and I fell in love with it. um The story's not the greatest. I'll admit that. That's why I needed three games to flesh it all out.

OracleCardsAndGames: um Hell, even the combat mechanics aren't the greatest. But there's just something about it. um Sarah's theme is the main theme of the game. um All of Lightning's themes across all three games are absolutely killer.

OracleCardsAndGames: um And even like something as simple as like the combat themes that you have to hear constantly. They're all full of of all kinds of nuances.

neocharge: Dude, the

neocharge: the boss theme, Saber's Edge, one of my favorites.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, yeah.

neocharge: One of my favorites. 13 has an incredible soundtrack. ah That's a, yeah, that's a really good pick.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: And I love 13. I can't wait for it to be remastered. It's next up to be remastered. Maybe later this year, next, probably next year. um But it's next up. It was on the PS3.

neocharge: So they got to fucking dissect that cell processing shit.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's

neocharge: um But it was also on the 360. The lesser version was on the 360. And that's okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: also on PC as well.

neocharge: It is on PC. Cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah, they they really need to remaster that. Dude, 13 had a killer soundtrack. Probably in my top three or top five of Final Fantasy, I'd say.

neocharge: Really good.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Really good choice. Really good choice.

OracleCardsAndGames: and And come on, the game gave us like, not it's I don't think it's arguable, honestly, statistically.

neocharge: So...

OracleCardsAndGames: um Lightning, fucking complete badass, strongest character in the whole franchise, depending on who you ask. Like, ugh.

neocharge: Across all three games, yeah. And then I loved Fang, Snow. Snow was awesome. um Fang was thing was cool, though. And then the your summons.

OracleCardsAndGames: yes.

neocharge: It was the first time you had, like, fucking Transformer summons.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah.

neocharge: It was awesome.

OracleCardsAndGames: Dude, Odin was a horse, but also Odin.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: Like, oh my god.

neocharge: Yeah. Hell yeah. Good, good pick.

OracleCardsAndGames: So sick.

neocharge: All right. I'm just going to kick this one off with... a very short 15 second clip of my next game. You ready?

Leon Lionheartly: I'm not surprised.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: That, of course, is Bloody Tears from Castlevania. Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I had to give you that one. I knew it was going to be on your list, man.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Okay.

neocharge: Oh my God, dude. Yeah. This is my top three. It's my third one. Um, Castlevania across the entire series is amazing. Uh, the composer Michiru Yamane, uh, she's awesome.

neocharge: And my favorite of the series is symphony of the night. And that's my favorite soundtrack of the series. So, uh, Man, just the when you're in Dracula's Castle and Wizard Lab, just, dude, it's so arranged. And i ah Dawn of Sorrow has another really good soundtrack.

neocharge: ah But yeah, very dark, gritty organ, a lot of lot of guitar. um Man, Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia. They all have incredible soundtracks. Hell, Lords of Shadows.

neocharge: ah Even has really good soundtrack. And it's just dark music. And it's got a really dark storyline, Castlevania. So, ah yeah, Castlevania, man, just incredible.

neocharge: I watched ah another MAGFest shout out.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: I watched... what was it? ah Super ah master boot record play bloody tears. And it was like live guitar just.

neocharge: And dude, if I mean, when bloody tears came on in season two of the Castlevania Netflix show, I lost it. So yeah, across all the games, Castlevania, and then you got Bloodstained, ah Koji Igarashi kind of made a spiritual successor because Konami fucked him along with Kojima.

neocharge: They both left and they both created amazing new IPs, but Bloodstained, Ritual of the Night, Bloodstained, Curse of the Moon, Bloodstained, Curse the Moon 2, all have incredible soundtracks.

neocharge: So, Sangatsu's theme. Oh, incredible or Zangatsu's theme just yeah. Castlevania is amazing. Amazing soundtrack.

neocharge: I think you can probably guess my top two after that, but we'll see.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Probably.

neocharge: We'll see.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: What are you doing, Konami?

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: You let two your best channel go bye-bye.

neocharge: Dude, right. So there when we saw the Scarlet engagement, we thought that was Castlevania. When we saw Duskbloods, we thought that was a Castlevania game.

Leon Lionheartly: pennsylvania Yeah.

neocharge: um apparently Apparently, Konami is reviving these IPs just like they're doing with Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater. They're sitting on these these three major IPs, right? Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill.

neocharge: And they're all merging. And we haven't seen Castlevania yet. I think we're going to. And I am really excited. There are rumors that we're getting a true to form 2.5 D Metroidvania Castlevania.

neocharge: So ah yeah, Castlevania is one of the two that created the genre Metroidvania. ah Can you guess what the other one was? um So yeah, love the games and the music are is is part of why love the games to this day.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: It's good choice, man. there were certain There were certain ones I avoided on purpose because I knew they were going to be there for you. um And specific titles purposely. ah Unfortunately, you guys shat over my top two.

Leon Lionheartly: um But I have a backup plan. Okay?

neocharge: Okay.

Leon Lionheartly: So number two. Was Claire Obscure 33? But what's my favorite theme out of Claire Obscure 33?

neocharge: Oh, I know where this is going. I know where this is going.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, yeah. Minoko's theme.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Minoko's theme is heavily, and you can't tell me otherwise, inspired by the entire fucking soundtrack from this game. um And I can't wait for the sixth one to come out.

Leon Lionheartly: um I am waiting to play some of the remasters if i've ever kind of Fine Time, um and that is Persona 5. That game ah that dog I listened to that soundtrack on a regular basis.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: It is good. um The only reason it didn't end up up on the list is because I think Claire just kind of slapped it to the side and they're so closely... If you listen to them a lot, they're kind of almost in that same...

Leon Lionheartly: don't want to say genre, but they're in that same tier um because some games are just at that level, right?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: And Claire Obscure kind of slapped P5 aside, but... um i i played I played that, loved the soundtrack. My oldest kid played it, loved the fucking soundtrack. My youngest kid has played ah part of it, loves the soundtrack.

Leon Lionheartly: um I listen to it around on a regular basis. so So I'm just throwing it out there as an honorable mention because when I heard Claire, I heard Persona, particularly when I heard Minoko's theme.

Leon Lionheartly: But yeah, and was ah that would have been my number two anyways.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: So I'm going to go with that.

neocharge: I was staying silent because I've never played any the Persona games, but I know they're amazing for their music.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh yeah.

neocharge: So...

OracleCardsAndGames: um I'll actually avoid one of my honorable mentions because it's also a Persona game. um

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: but Otherwise I would have said Persona 3 because that's my favorite one in the franchise. um But I'm to Hollow Knight.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh, good choice.

OracleCardsAndGames: um The entire soundtrack is phenomenal. like Unfortunately for me, Hollow Knight is the game. That's what does it for me. Hollow Knight as a game does it for me. The soundtrack is kind of an afterthought because you're fighting for your life half the time when you're playing the damn game.

OracleCardsAndGames: So you don't ever think about the music. um But yeah, um Nightmare King Grimm's theme in the DLC, phenomenal. The God Realm theme, phenomenal.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah Dung Defenders theme of all things, phenomenal.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: And then all of the main levels throughout the entire game, they they're all very ambient, especially ah um the main city. Very, very ambient music. And it's phenomenal. But for me, the game comes first.

OracleCardsAndGames: The soundtrack comes after. That's why I didn't make my list.

neocharge: Gotcha. Huh. Yeah. That's a dude. I've loved everything about the hollow night soundtrack and I can't wait to see what they're cooking up with a silksong.

neocharge: So.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Silksong better deliver, man. If it doesn't, ah I'm rioting.

neocharge: It will.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm showing up to to to Cherry Studios.

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm rioting. Oh,

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Team Cherry hasn't let us down. So Hollow Knight was incredible.

OracleCardsAndGames: I know. Well, they have.

neocharge: they Well, yeah, but they haven't let us down with a released game, right? It's just gotten delayed and delayed and delayed and delayed and delayed.

OracleCardsAndGames: No, not at all.

neocharge: They took their time on it. Hopefully we're going to get a banger and hopefully the music will be on par with what we got with Hollow Knight. um

OracleCardsAndGames: Exactly.

neocharge: And the...

OracleCardsAndGames: And it probably will.

neocharge: Oh, yeah. And the DLC, the the White Palace DLC and the Troop DLC, that had really good music, too.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Nightmare King Grimm's theme, in my opinion, is like the greatest theme in the whole game.

neocharge: um Yes. Yes.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: I could not beat him. I couldn't beat him. Couldn't do it.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's worth it. It's so worth it. um the

neocharge: Ugh.

OracleCardsAndGames: Well, the grind to make it happen isn't worth it, but it's worth it.

neocharge: No. i did I did the White Palace, some of the hardest platforming I've ever done in a video game.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep, the path of pain.

neocharge: ah Yep. Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: ha ha.

neocharge: So incredible soundtrack. Good call out. ah My number two. Bob, I'm surprised you didn't say this, man.

Leon Lionheartly: It might be. i I avoided some titles purposely.

neocharge: It might.

neocharge: Well, this game revolves around musical instruments. And yeah do you, is this, are you thinking of the same thing?

Leon Lionheartly: sir

Leon Lionheartly: Maybe. Maybe. Keep going. I'll let you...

neocharge: Little, little Helion called Link?

Leon Lionheartly: Maybe. Maybe.

neocharge: Yeah, of course. The Legend of Zelda, dude.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah Maybe. maybe

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, I avoided it.

neocharge: Is some of the... Yeah. Okay. um Yeah. What can I say? this This game is up there because of the soundtrack.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank

neocharge: Everything revolves around the instruments. I mean, Ocarina of Time, ah like it's in the name.

Leon Lionheartly: you.

neocharge: ah you Usually up until Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom, you had an instrument integral to the core concept and gameplay of the game.

neocharge: Wind Waker, you had a baton and you were like a um conductor, right? It could control the wind.

OracleCardsAndGames: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: Ocarina of Time, you had your ocarina. In Link to the Past, you had your flute. ah Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, you had your harp. um Just in Link's Awakening, you have you go around the dungeons and collect all the instruments, all eight of them, to awaken the windfish.

neocharge: Dude, Zelda's Lullaby, the main theme for Zelda, i the the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time, the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time, Ganon's theme, Ganon Dorf's theme.

neocharge: I'll go on. like Twilight Princess, the Arbiter's Grounds.

Leon Lionheartly: Yep.

neocharge: Holy shit. Incredible.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Zora's Zora's domain. Like, dude, ah that game is known for the music. And that is why um it's real. Dude, the one and two are like neck and neck.

neocharge: Zelda is up there for me. um And it it's really neck and neck. So, ah yeah, Zelda has incredible music. The overworld theme for the original when it comes on is just so impactful.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: Bingo. Yep.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: that's That's another one of those themes that I just hum in my head naturally. ah

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: I just, I purposely, yeah, I purposely avoided putting on my list because I wanted to shake things up and I knew somebody was, I had a feeling somebody was going to put it.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: I just didn't think it was going to take this fucking long.

neocharge: yeah

neocharge: ah yeah it's up there for me dude it's it's almost at the top if it wasn't for my top game which i think you all know but yeah du da da da know i mean it's an iconic right the main theme

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, it is. ah

OracleCardsAndGames: had to refrain from putting Majora's mask on mine because I knew you were going say Zelda.

Leon Lionheartly: that open but The start theme for Ocarina of Time, the start theme for linked A Link to the Past.

neocharge: oh dude major's mass has a banger overworld theme too mm-hmm

Leon Lionheartly: like These are just...

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, they they they sit there. There's a reason that they do. Like you said, go ahead.

neocharge: The legendary Koji Kondo.

Leon Lionheartly: Uh-huh. And when you're talking about games, not only games ah games that fit the theme, Zelda is an adventure game, ultimately.

neocharge: RPG.

Leon Lionheartly: um And so yeah those, yeah, the music it just kind of screams adventure, almost like a Lord of the Rings, if you will.

neocharge: It's not an RPG.

Leon Lionheartly: I'm going on an adventure.

neocharge: Yep. Yeah. um Just every game has an incredible soundtrack. Breath and Tears. I mean, just the the sound design of breath when you're going out and just like those like three piano notes like and and and it's and then it just like you hear the wind in the ambience.

Leon Lionheartly: uh

neocharge: um Just incredible. I say Ocarina of Time is my favorite of all of them. ah Just I mean, it's goaded. It's goaded. What can I say? Like Twilight Princess is my favorite. Ocarina Time has the best soundtrack.

neocharge: The fire temple, the water temple. Come on.

Leon Lionheartly: i but That was the only reason, that was the one of the other reasons it wasn't on my list is because um I, well, i see where you're going with that. um Some of the, like the Spirit Temple and things like that, they were a little underwhelming. And I think um there was some of those tracks didn't hit as hard.

Leon Lionheartly: um And because of that, it kind of fell down the list. ah But like Kakariko Village, come on.

neocharge: Mm-hmm. Gerudo's Valley or Gerudo Valley.

Leon Lionheartly: i

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, the Lost Woods.

neocharge: Oh, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. Careful, ladies.

neocharge: but that so

Leon Lionheartly: I have a powerful beard. said like it like

neocharge: and This is the musical themed episode. What did you expect?

Leon Lionheartly: yeah can te out with my

OracleCardsAndGames: I wish we were filming right now because it's the audience seeing Bob dancing around would have been gold.

neocharge: Soon we'll be on video and you can get um you can get all of Bob in your ear holes and eye holes.

Leon Lionheartly: careful ladies i have a powerful beard

neocharge: yes Yes, you do. um Yeah, dude. Legend of Zelda. My top two are neck and neck. They're like they're almost both top one because Zelda is just fucking the goat.

Leon Lionheartly: oh

Leon Lionheartly: yeah Yeah, it's funny you mention Zelda.

neocharge: So, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: um Because if you say Zelda, people think of the ah of the classic theme, right?

neocharge: Mm-hmm.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah. Obviously, i had number one Mega Man X. We talked about that. It's still goaded. I will be i seriously doubt that it'll ever be topped. I'm going to just put that out there for the audience.

Leon Lionheartly: um That's how much I believe that game is number one, in my opinion. um But since we were talking about themes, I don't necessarily think this and series has the has amazing music.

Leon Lionheartly: But i didn't it wasn't at my top 10 list because I think it does fall short. And this is, of course, in my personal opinion. But, and i'm going to see if this comes through like you did, Matt. You know what theme universally is recognized by all gamers?

Leon Lionheartly: And I can't wait. I can't wait. Because it's coming. we're It's going to be on the PS5 soon.

neocharge: Let's hear it.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: he

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: Soon.

Leon Lionheartly: we're talking martyio yeah We're talking Marty and Halo. it does Not everything hits, but what does hit is iconic.

Leon Lionheartly: and I think that makes makes sense.

neocharge: my God.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes.

neocharge: to

Leon Lionheartly: I can't wait to see it on a PlayStation 5 Pro.

neocharge: but the

Leon Lionheartly: Do you know what I'm getting at?

neocharge: um my god

Leon Lionheartly: oh

neocharge: Oh, yeah. We got play that co-op. We got play that shit come up um

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, dude. We will get drunk and we will play it with Lasso on stream.

neocharge: co-op.

Leon Lionheartly: I don't care.

neocharge: 100%. Legendary difficulty.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, Lasso, legendary all skulls.

neocharge: Birthday party on. Grunt birthday party on.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, 100%.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Always.

Leon Lionheartly: said Always.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: You hear that?

neocharge: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: Yay! Whenever you get a headshot. but

neocharge: Dude, Halo, yeah, Marty O'Donnell, stood next to him listening to a Legend of Zelda at MAGFest, stood next to him. My buddy was like, hey, ah don't like freak out or look now, but Marty O'Donnell is right next to you. And I was just like, oh my God, holy you shit, you're right.

neocharge: So, yeah. um God. And shout out to destiny. That's so one of my, uh, honorable mentions destiny.

neocharge: Cause Bungie did destiny. Destiny has an incredible soundtrack partly by the original halo composer. Yeah. Or Neil Davidge did some Halo 2 for 4.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, he did.

neocharge: So, yeah, that's a good one. Very iconic. Cannot wait for that to come to PS5. I'd say we're getting an announcement later this year, at the end of the year, maybe Game Awards or next year. It's coming.

neocharge: They're going to milk it, too.

Leon Lionheartly: Please.

neocharge: And I'll be there for it. They're going to be like, Halo 1, remake or remastered PS5, 50 bucks. Take my fucking money.

OracleCardsAndGames: I will buy a PS5 faster.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: You know, it's funny. A listener, a buddy of mine, you know what he told me about when they announced this? And if it's not the name, it's Halo Re-Evolved instead of Combat Evolved.

neocharge: What?

neocharge: Ooh, very cool.

Leon Lionheartly: I was like, oh, well that' it's so good.

neocharge: mad That's good.

Leon Lionheartly: Get on it, Phil Spencer. God damn it.

neocharge: Yeah. Do stuff. Do something.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Oh, shit. All right, Alex. what's your What's your number one? Number oh uno.

OracleCardsAndGames: Well, my number one was already taken, but um that was Claire Obscure.

neocharge: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah

neocharge: Sorry.

OracleCardsAndGames: hey It's all good. It's all good. There's no hard feelings here. um

neocharge: can talk more about Claire if you want. I mean.

OracleCardsAndGames: um No, there's no need to. We did it for four hours.

neocharge: Yes, we did.

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: If you haven't listened to that, go listen to it.

OracleCardsAndGames: And shit, I've

neocharge: If you played Claire Obscure, it's an awesome podcast. One of our most listened to podcasts, actually. ah Fun fact, one of our most downloaded and most listened to podcasts. So shout out to you and Caleb. ah People love you.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, so for me, um I'm just going to play the theme and see if you guys recognize it. If you don't, that's fine.

Leon Lionheartly: Okay. What do you got?

Leon Lionheartly: Yes!

Leon Lionheartly: Hold on. I know what it is.

OracleCardsAndGames: here.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah here

neocharge: Yeah, that's... Do you want me to take a guess? I know what it is.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, you know what is.

Leon Lionheartly: i know what it is

neocharge: It's Kirby.

OracleCardsAndGames: Everybody knows what it is.

Leon Lionheartly: oh yeah

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. I mean, come on. like they For me, I don't think there was a game in my childhood that was more of a happy-go-lucky, have fun with it, do stupid shit for hours on endgame than the entire Kirby franchise.

neocharge: Good one.

OracleCardsAndGames: I haven't played one since ah Epic Yarn. I know that there's Kirby games that have come out since then, but...

neocharge: Oh, Forgotten Land is so good. Put it on your list.

OracleCardsAndGames: i've I've heard there's so many things that need to go on my damn list right now.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

OracleCardsAndGames: I think Celebrate is going to be the first one, but we'll we'll see.

neocharge: Oh, it's good.

OracleCardsAndGames: We'll see the order I get to. Yeah, Kirby. um Shit, I'm a grown-ass man who wears Kirby socks and King Dedede socks and Meta Knight socks to work every day. like it's like it's It's got this stupid little derpy place in my heart, and I don't know why.

neocharge: That's amazing.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: That's amazing.

OracleCardsAndGames: Every single time I boot the games up, I laugh, I smile, I cry sometimes, like especially with Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland. I have a lot of ah fond memories of playing with the Link Cable with my cousin, having to share the same Game Boy Advance screen because the game that played multiplayer weird.

OracleCardsAndGames: it was It was so phenomenal back in the day, and it's still great now.

neocharge: Hell yeah. Pickup Deluxe for Switch as well. It's another good one.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: They remastered it or remade it?

OracleCardsAndGames: I think my...

neocharge: or Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I think my favorite one in the whole franchise ah might be Kirby Superstar u Ultra.

neocharge: o Nice. Are you excited for ah Air Riders, the the next one?

OracleCardsAndGames: um

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. um um I need to catch up on Kirby, honestly. like i've I've mistreated it so badly.

neocharge: How dare you?

OracleCardsAndGames: and it's it It was partly because like yeah I liked Epic Yarn, but I felt like Epic Yarn was trying to be LittleBigPlanet. So it's kind of...

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: For me...

Leon Lionheartly: Well, you know, next month, the 28th, Kirby and the Forgotten Land plus Star-Crossed ah World is coming out ah for the Switch, too.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah,

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: that's what I'm thinking.

neocharge: Be a good one for your Switch 2. Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah I'm going to have to steal the Switch 2 from the wife.

neocharge: Yep. Oh, did you get her one? She finally has one?

OracleCardsAndGames: not

neocharge: Not yet.

OracleCardsAndGames: not Not yet, not yet.

neocharge: Okay. I was like, where's your PS5 then?

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Baby steps, man. Come on, that's expensive.

neocharge: no I hear you. Hey, I hear you, man. No worries at all. No worries at all. But a lot of games on your list are for PS5.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Cellarblade was on ps PC though. So, right? Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, Stellar Blade's on PC.

neocharge: um

OracleCardsAndGames: I just haven't gotten around to it yet. um Maybe when I'm done with this playthrough of Legend of Dragoon before I start the Japanese one, I can i can get to Stellar Blade, but we'll see.

neocharge: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah. well We'll keep building on that list. Don't worry. i The fact that you you said Kirby, awesome. And then you said Sackboy. That reminds me of another honorable mention we need to talk about.

neocharge: That's Astro Bot.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, yes.

neocharge: ah That is an honorable mention. Astro Bot has an incredible soundtrack. Even the Astros Playroom. Super great.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah Fun fact too, Astro Bot also has pays homage to Legend of Dragoon as well in it.

neocharge: Awesome.

neocharge: Sure it does.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes, it does.

neocharge: Dart's in there.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: Yep. ah lot of characters in there. And like all the DLC just brings them, most of them. There are some missing, ah which are glaringly missing. And I'm like, where the fuck is he?

neocharge: So yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: Honorable mention Astro Bot. um

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Before I get to the number one, which I think is kind of a collaborative one. We've we've all talked about it. do Do we have any other honorable mentions?

Leon Lionheartly: um I wouldn't say an honorable mention for the game series, ah but I do want to shout out um to a particular one track out of a series um that absolutely I still listen to on a regular basis.

Leon Lionheartly: um And I prefer the original ah rendition of it, not the second or third one. um And that's the Hell March from Command & Conquer Red Alert.

neocharge: Nice.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: i hey See? There you go. ah you hear When I first heard that, I was like, ooh, this screams what the game's about. um The rest of the sub track kind of, it's it is what it is, right?

Leon Lionheartly: It's kind of forgettable. um But I wanted to call that out.

neocharge: Beautiful.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep. Another one for me, Soul Edge.

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: um The first entry in the Soul Calibur franchise. ah I believe it was Soul Blade?

neocharge: Soul Calibur.

Leon Lionheartly: Mm-hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: for PS1? It was Soul Blade for PS1. Soul Edge was the arcade or the arcade cabinet. um Phenomenal. like I love it. i played the i used to go to the arcade all the time as a kid. I played the hell out of it.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Love the soundtrack to it. Far ahead of its time, in my opinion.

neocharge: Oh, yeah. I remember Soul Calibur 2 had a really good soundtrack.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh, they all did.

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah. That was the one I dug into the most mainly because ah my mains were Lincoln key. Like, so I think we played a little bit of that when you came over, ah Bob, you have to come over again, Alex, we'll play some soul caliber. I have it on my, i have it. It's, it's original hardware, but it's on the Wii.

neocharge: So, and then I have the game cube controls.

OracleCardsAndGames: Got it.

neocharge: So, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Um, Donkey Kong comes to mind for me. Donkey Kong Country Returns and the original Donkey Kongs.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh.

neocharge: Even Donkey Kong 64, another Grant Kirkhope. um

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: Just an incredible soundtrack there.

Leon Lionheartly: D.K.

neocharge: Yeah, Donkey Kong. The leader of the bunch. You know him well.

Leon Lionheartly: but That was good.

neocharge: DK Rapp.

Leon Lionheartly: I like that.

neocharge: He's finally back to kick some tail. His coconut guns will fire in spurts. If it shoots, yeah it's gonna hurt. All right.

Leon Lionheartly: was good, dude. I'm sorry to interrupt you, but that was good.

neocharge: ah That is... That is ingrained in my memory. I think I might have like ah blended choruses there or verses, but yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: It's all good, man.

neocharge: ah

OracleCardsAndGames: We all understood it.

neocharge: Yeah. ah Star Fox. Star Fox has some bangers. um Really good Mario Kart, of course. A lot of Mario throwbacks. Assassin's Creed.

neocharge: Come on.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: the The soundtrack for Assassin's Creed 3 was fucking stellar.

neocharge: Yeah. Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Honestly.

neocharge: um Speaking of stellar, Stellar Blade, really good soundtrack.

OracleCardsAndGames: but I'll get to it.

neocharge: but

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'll get to it I... i

neocharge: I'm just saying it has a really good soundtrack. Really good.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: um

OracleCardsAndGames: Another one comes to mind for me.

neocharge: But yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: ah The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade.

neocharge: Hell yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Yes.

OracleCardsAndGames: Also phenomenal as well.

neocharge: Hell yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Good call, dude.

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: Contra, another one.

neocharge: Mm-hmm. Video game music is so ingrained and like when you hear it, you know, and it takes you back to the game, right? It takes you back to playing that game.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: You know, it's funny of you bat yeah he say that. Sorry, I don't know why I just thought of this. But ah when yeah you give it that we gave me the tickets to go see yeah c Paper Grade, I almost fucking lost it, man.

neocharge: Yes.

neocharge: yes

Leon Lionheartly: I had to step aside. I was laughing so hard. They're like, we're going play a cult classic. like These motherfuckers started playing the Wii Shop or the Mii Plaza menu.

neocharge: ah That's awesome.

Leon Lionheartly: and So you just get that.

neocharge: Yep. That's awesome. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

OracleCardsAndGames: you

neocharge: and ah

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah.

neocharge: done it andnna that da da da

Leon Lionheartly: I got the do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do.

neocharge: yep

Leon Lionheartly: I was like, God damn it!

neocharge: that's awesome

OracleCardsAndGames: Wii Sports is another one we can put in there too because that's so fucking good.

neocharge: a eating Yeah. um If we're missing any before we get to our, I think our collective number one, let's let's be honest. If we're missing in any, let us know what you think. but before But without further ado, it's Final Fantasy, everyone.

neocharge: It's Final Fantasy VIP. You said it, Alex. You said it, Bob. You love 13. Bob loves 8. I love 7, personally. ah Genova's theme.

neocharge: Holy fucking shit. One-Winged Angel. Come on. Aerith's theme. Tifa's theme. Like, oh, dude, Calm. And I will listen to the soundtrack.

neocharge: ah They recently redid it with Remake and Rebirth. Can't wait for Reborn or whatever the hell they're going call it. I think it's going to be Reborn.

Leon Lionheartly: Thank you.

neocharge: But dude, Final Fantasy across the series. Most recently, 16.

OracleCardsAndGames: um

neocharge: 16 has an incredible soundtrack. I can't really pick one. I mean, if I had to, it'd be seven. But all the way, like six... I mean, ah Nine, Dark Messenger, Garland, like, come on.

neocharge: Bahamut's theme.

OracleCardsAndGames: Even 14 has a great themes. The MMO.

neocharge: Yes. Yes.

OracleCardsAndGames: it's It's crazy.

neocharge: Final Fantasy as a series.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Remember, the Final Fantasy soundtrack, like this entire series, is so iconic

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: That, you remember, gentlemen, you can purchase and buy and play soundtracks from the other Final Fantasy mainline themes while you're driving around in Final Fantasy XV.

neocharge: yup Yeah. 15 had a really good soundtrack too.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, yeah, which is funny because XV itself had a good soundtrack.

neocharge: Um,

neocharge: Yep. Nobuo Uematsu. ah

Leon Lionheartly: Mm-hmm.

neocharge: I have seen Final Fantasy orchestras, probably five of them. I saw Distant Worlds multiple times. I've seen seven, ah Remake, seven Rebirth. I've seen many. It's top. like I mean, 13 is one of my favorite. 10 has a legendary soundtrack, like you said. 12, even though I haven't played it or finished it. I played it, haven't finished it.

neocharge: Let me be clear. It has an incredible soundtrack. Just... I mean, it's all across all the games. They're all amazing.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: And ah yeah, 16 hit real well. Ifrit's theme, a rose is a rose. And then in 16, you can actually go to the jukebox and play the the tracks.

neocharge: So Sid's theme.

Leon Lionheartly: but

neocharge: whole

Leon Lionheartly: it's It's true. ah

neocharge: Vince, go ahead.

Leon Lionheartly: I was going to say, Final Fantasy is so powerful that, remember the era of ringtones?

neocharge: hu

Leon Lionheartly: I heard people that had the Final Fantasy fanfare as a ringtone for a while. For a while.

neocharge: I mean, yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: You may have been one of them.

neocharge: I may be one of them. um

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: Dude, Final Fantasy is one of the greats when it comes to soundtracks. And i it's just iconic. When I was playing Rebirth, I was literally... Dude, Cosmo Canyon?

neocharge: Cosmo Canyon? Vince's team?

Leon Lionheartly: In Rebirth, Cosmo Canyon was my favorite track.

neocharge: All would you like?

Leon Lionheartly: ah that

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: The way they redid that and recompiled that um was amazing. Cosmo.

neocharge: Seto's theme, where that that whole sequence.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Dude, ah this may or may not be my ringtone.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

OracleCardsAndGames: Expect nothing less, honestly. And like.

neocharge: I'm not done, and you'll love this one, Alex. This is also one of my ringtones.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep.

neocharge: That, of course, is the boss theme I was talking about from 13. And yeah. Even Advent Children. ah He has the ringtones like... datata da da da da da

Leon Lionheartly: Uh-huh.

neocharge: the The fanfare across all the pretty much all of the main lines.

Leon Lionheartly: ah

neocharge: um

Leon Lionheartly: oh

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah I will say, even though 7 isn't my favorite game, my PS4 background, and it has been for the longest time, has been ah Tifa, just because it plays her theme.

neocharge: its

OracleCardsAndGames: Because I think the theme's gorgeous.

neocharge: Hell yeah. Oh, yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: and And it it plays her theme from Remake, but it plays her theme, and it's gorgeous. It's beautiful.

Leon Lionheartly: Hmm.

neocharge: Yep. And then in in Rebirth, you can play it on the piano. I have just a couple more because I have to give a shout out to 10.

Leon Lionheartly: There it is.

OracleCardsAndGames: That theme makes me cry, man.

Leon Lionheartly: you. I know.

OracleCardsAndGames: Every time.

Leon Lionheartly: thank you

neocharge: And then this was the one I was talking about.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yep. The OG, the classics.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah

neocharge: So.

Leon Lionheartly: prop problem

neocharge: Those are all on my phone, by the way.

Leon Lionheartly: ah You know, it's funny. Prompto in 15 will do that sometimes after battle. and don't know if you remember.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: That's

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah, it's pretty funny.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: yeah ah

neocharge: But yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: thats a

neocharge: Just, yeah, I think all four or all three of us can agree. ah All four of us I know Caleb agrees, too. um All three of us can agree that Final Fantasy is, ah yeah, we all had it in our list.

OracleCardsAndGames: you

neocharge: And it's it's definitely top for me as an IP. ah Like I said, Legend Zelda and Final Fantasy are neck and neck. um But yeah, dude, one winged angel.

neocharge: Jenova's theme for rebirth. if you If you want to like fucking just melt, ah it's incredible. It's got like a little base in there. ah ah Sorry, Alex, for playing that theme.

neocharge: Zanderkin is ah it's close to my heart, too. So our our girl, Yuna, is... Well, I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just leave it leave it at that.

neocharge: um

Leon Lionheartly: ye

neocharge: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: There's reason why nobody talks about 10-2's music, okay?

neocharge: and

neocharge: Right.

OracleCardsAndGames: People talk about 10s.

neocharge: Yep. yeah ah Yeah. ah I mean, even the the originals, one, two, three, and four on five, you know, I mean, six, I think I might be playing six on the plane ah when I, when I travel ah tactics.

OracleCardsAndGames: Tactics. Tactics has three soundtracks.

neocharge: Yep.

OracleCardsAndGames: Oh.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Ooh, you know what I just...

neocharge: King in kind of the same vein, kingdom hearts, kingdom hearts has some damn good music.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah. Yeah.

neocharge: So were you going to say, Bob?

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh, um I was thinking about something and there it is.

neocharge: What?

Leon Lionheartly: You know, which theme also goes really well and is iconic if you know what I'm talking about. um And I'm going to just say the name of the the the the the series because it goes hand in hand with Final Fantasy. There's a reason I say that.

neocharge: Dragon Quest.

Leon Lionheartly: that Dragon Quest, baby.

neocharge: Yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: I don't just thought me.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: I just started thinking about it because the iconic themes. And then I was like, oh, RPGs. Yes. ah Those you you it's because you mentioned the classics.

neocharge: Yep.

Leon Lionheartly: Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, those soundtracks. That was with the golden eras of gaming. I'm sorry. I said what I said.

neocharge: Oh yeah. even Even, even 11 had really good music.

OracleCardsAndGames: You're not wrong. You're not wrong.

neocharge: 11 had really good music too. Tokyo symphony orchestra, uh, metropolitan Tokyo symphony orchestra.

Leon Lionheartly: Uh huh.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: They always put it down there. Oh yeah, dude. How can we forget dragon quest? They're like one of, uh, square Enix is, uh, that's some of the best soundtracks. Honestly, I'm excited for flames of fate.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: But yeah, good good shout out and good one.

Leon Lionheartly: Oh,

neocharge: Okay.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'm going to give one last one as well because nobody said it and I'm i'm not surprised. um Parasite Eve 1 and 2. The soundtracks were also stellar.

Leon Lionheartly: oh yeah. Good.

neocharge: yep. True.

OracleCardsAndGames: I wish I could find black labels of those that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

neocharge: ah

neocharge: true True. We all thought ah that ah Project Eve was a sequel to those, but it ended up being Stellar Blade, which is fine. Great game.

neocharge: And sorry, I keep bringing it up, but um ah Bioshock.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

OracleCardsAndGames: I'll get to it.

neocharge: Bioshock? When you...

OracleCardsAndGames: Bioshock, yeah. um Specifically for me, Infinite was the soundtrack that I really loved.

neocharge: Bioshock? Yes. Yes. Yep. Dude, there's so many out there. We probably missed some. um But we want to hear from you guys, our listeners.

Leon Lionheartly: you

neocharge: Let us know what your favorites are. we we We'll talk video game music all day. Honestly. it's one of the major reasons I'm in video games. Uh, I it's, it's part of the immersion.

neocharge: I love video game music. I actually listened to movie soundtracks and video game music, uh, for my music or a lot of instrumental stuff.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Uh, and they say like classical or orchestral music helps the brain. It helps you focus and it helps you think, and it helps develop the brain. Uh, so, and some of this stuff is on the level of Mozart, you know?

neocharge: Um, So yeah, video game music is ingrained not only when I play the video games, but when I'm out in my car or anywhere, I'm i'm listening to music.

OracleCardsAndGames: yeah

neocharge: I usually listen to video game music soundtracks. So it's a huge, huge part of you who I am.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: I'm sure you guys are the same.

Leon Lionheartly: Yeah, absolutely, man.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Yeah. ah So yeah, hop on discord. Let us know your favorites and your favorite soundtracks and why they, they hit you hard. So this has been a really fun episode. I fucking love video game music and ah it's been very fun.

neocharge: So you guys have any ah fun plans for the, for the rest of the week and the weekend.

Leon Lionheartly: video games

neocharge: Yeah.

neocharge: Nice. so you're going to see.

OracleCardsAndGames: Uh, it's boundaries straight from the path or no boundaries stick to your guns. There we go. The other band, like with a name like that, um, at the gates and psycho frame, I'm sorry, not at the gates gates to hell.

neocharge: Very cool. Very cool.

OracleCardsAndGames: There we go. Jesus metal bands all have similar names.

neocharge: ah speak ah Speaking metal, another shout out, Devil May Cry.

OracleCardsAndGames: so

neocharge: I think we talked about Devil May Cry.

OracleCardsAndGames: Yeah.

neocharge: Incredible soundtrack.

OracleCardsAndGames: Dante's Inferno, same thing.

neocharge: Dante's Inferno. How about you, Bob? Any fun plans for the weekend?

Leon Lionheartly: No, sir. It involves a lot of recovering as I get used to a new schedule. And I'll the kids start start school next week. So it's one last weekend of hurrah of getting drunk and playing video games. so um So um look for my roads out there on the Chiral Network.

neocharge: Hell yeah.

Leon Lionheartly: i spent... i I know this is a side, but I've literally spent probably 5,000 Chiro crystals repairing that road last night, Matt.

Leon Lionheartly: I just went down from one wood part of the continent to the next.

neocharge: yeah

Leon Lionheartly: I just kept going around and going, oh, that one's at like 52%. Let me drop in a bunch. And there's a reason why i was able to do that. You'll find out eventually when you get there. But yeah, probably trying to finish up the Platinum for Death Stranding 2 if I can.

neocharge: Awesome, man. That's a feat for sure. I would love to play Death Stranding, but I won't say unfortunately because I'm very excited for this. I'm going to be flying to Ohio tomorrow ah to visit family and to be around family for my grandma's 90th birthday.

neocharge: So I'll be gaming on the plane. I think I might play something on the Switch. I might actually hop back into Final Fantasy VI. I got that itch for but that turn-based pixel art RPG.

neocharge: So, yeah, I'm going to be visiting Ohio for a week. and then But when when i come back when I come back, you bet your goddamn ass I'm going to be playing some Death Stranding. i'm going to be building those roads um after I play Sword of the Sea.

neocharge: Because I got to play Sword of the Sea. I got to play Sword of the Sea. It's going to be, it's it's free. ah if you it was It's included with your PS Plus Essentials and Up subscription. ah So, and I'm a huge fan of Journey. We talked about Journey. We talked about Austin Wintry.

neocharge: He's one of the best composers.

OracleCardsAndGames: Thank you.

neocharge: He's composing Sword of the Sea. It's going to be a a small game ah that is probably going to take maybe one or two sessions. ah Might be five to 10 hours.

neocharge: But yeah, I got to play that. And then I'll jump back into Death Stranding, finish it, and probably go right into fucking Metal Gear Solid Delta. Let's be honest. So, cool.

neocharge: Well, this episode been super fun. ah Thanks so much, Alex, for being a guest on the show. We appreciate you being here.

Leon Lionheartly: No, sir.

neocharge: And thanks for sharing your music tastes and your expertise in this matter. Because ah like I said, ah you created our intro and outro. And again, we really appreciate that.

neocharge: So thank you.

neocharge: Yep. Cool. Bob, did you want to add something?

Leon Lionheartly: no sir

neocharge: Okay. you You put your finger up. But yeah, this has been episode 15. One of the core episodes, one of my favorite ones about the video game soundtrack. So everyone have a great rest of your day and keep the conversation going.
