Next up, number three. My number three film is Lowlifes. Lowlifes has a 6.2 out of 10 on IMDB and only one critical review on Rotten Tomatoes, but it's a positive one, so that's 100%, baby. Lowlifes is about the survival and things of a road trip and family are put to the test when they have no other choice but to stay of the night at a remote homestead. Lowlifes is directed by Tesh Gudakonda and Mitch Oliver, written by Al Kaplan, the Al Kaplan from Jon and Al, who do like Predator the Musical and stuff on YouTube, and starring Amanda Fix. So fun fact, I saw this movie the same day, like literally right after I watched Double Blind. So I hit two 2B bangers on the same day, which was, I, what a day for movies and me. What a day in the life of Chris Donovan. Uh, this movie slaps so hard. Early on in this film, I thought, oh man, I think I figured out the twist of the film, damn it. And this movie goes like, fuck you, man, this ain't a twist kind of movie, we're out in the open with this shit. And it is so to the film's benefit, because sometimes when you take that kind of a risk, you obviously lose the mystery, but you also lose the tension. Like a movie I'm gonna talk about later, Strange Darling, once you know the twist, the events on screen are not as impactful, because it's relying on you being tense until the movie decides to pull the rug.
